There's a very specific sub-genre of YA romcom books and that is "good but would be more enjoyable if found on ao3"

I was determined that I'd finish a six sentence sunday this week, and look, I made it! And it's almost still Sunday!
Love and hugs to those of you who've tagged me for the last week: @ileadacharmedlife, @you-remind-me-of-the-babe, @cutestkilla, @larkral, @captain-aralias, @palimpsessed, @artsyunderstudy, @thehoneyedhufflepuff, @hushed-chorus, @j-nipper-95 and @whogaveyoupermission
Snippets and tags for Wednesday under the cut
Well, I'm down to five WIPs. But wait, I'm researching two more to start soon 🤦‍♀️. Still, for now it's five.
From Saving Simon Snow:
I don’t understand.
I respond to the typical list of wedding promises with less than half of my attention, but I must do it right because they roll on through to the end without pausing. I can’t bring myself to care.
I can feel Baz’s magic…it’s there, under my skin, just like mine used to be. It pulses faintly with the beat of my heart.
I wonder if I could use it?
From: Raising Dragons:
It’s been two hours since Niamh’s yell rousted Baz and I out of our marriage bed (shortest honeymoon ever). And while all of the eggs have wobbled back and forth with some regularity, there’s not even a crack on any of the shells.
“What if they can’t do it on their own,” I whisper to Niamh and Agatha. I’m worried, but I’m trying to hide it for Baz’s sake. He’s mesmerised. He’s down in the next sitting cross-legged next to the eggs, running his hands over them and talking to them.
From: To Heal a Broken Mind
The seizures aren’t improving. We’ve tried no less than four medications now, and two of those were experimental. I don’t know what kind of connections Baz had to use to get them. But my seizures are happening more and more often, and lasting longer each time.
I can tell Baz is worried. I’m scared. I don’t want to let the doctors go poking around in my brain, but I’m rapidly running out of options
From: Westward Son:
Perhaps I should tell Penelope and Baz. But if I did, they’d just keep closer watch on him, and Simon already feels oppressed from their constant observation, I’ve seen that first hand. Everytime he turns to glance at his best friend or his lover and finds them already watching him with worried expressions, he flinches. I don’t pretend to understand what’s going on in his head, but I can tell that the way Baz and Penelope are trying to help him is only driving him farther away.
So, I won’t tell them. But I’ll keep watch, tonight.
From this year's COBB, Threads of Fate, my first teaser!:
“There’s nothing there, Snow. You’ve gone round the bend. Now please, let me revise in peace!”
I turn my back on him, though I don’t look down at my notes. Instead, I listen to Snow mumble and shuffle his feet. He sounds utterly confounded. When I finally hear the door open and his heavy steps moving away, I turn back to look after him.
Jokes aside, I really do hope that he’s not losing his mind.

Strawberry Short Cake
Today is easily one of the most awful days Lan Zhan has had since he started working for his family’s company. One particular supplier, named Yao Chemicals, is causing delays with their production, asking for a raise in payment than what they signed in the contract. Ouyang Logistics had canceled their shipping in the name of maintenance. Why did they not inform them ahead of time? Lan Zhan does not want to find out but knows that he should.
As the Vice-President of the family-owned company, Lan Zhan is always on top of things. Thankfully, he has a diligent Operations General Manager who is willing to share the stress and burden of their work. He should give Lou Qinyang an extra bonus and longer vacation time next year. A ship cruise does not sound bad, it could also be her late honeymoon with her wife.
The clock hits eight, everyone has already left the company building since six saves for him, the maintenance, and the security. Lan Zhan loosened his necktie and opened two top buttons of his dress shirt. He should head home, too, it’s closing his usual bedtime and today’s stress must be at least washed away.
On the drive home, he rounded a corner and saw a cafe. It looks warm and cozy from its windows. The cafe has a combined rustic and bookish vibe in its interior design visible through its clear windows. There are only two tables occupied, a bonus that it is not crowded considering that it is near a business district.
Lan Zhan parked his car on the curbside and walked to the cafe. He surveyed the menu before going up to the counter manned by a timid-looking barista. “Hi, my name is Wen Ning. Welcome to Dafen Cafe! What can I get you tonight?” The barista, Wen Ning, said.
“Hi. I’d have your Lavender Mint Tea. 50% sugar, please. Lukewarm temperature.” Don’t judge him, okay? Usually, Lan Zhan would drink his tea without any confectionery but this day was really a challenging one. He deserves some sweetness.
“Lavender Mint with 50% sugar. Lukewarm. Got that. Anything else? We have bread and pastries, too. If I could offer you some?”
Lan Zhan regarded the display shelf. The croissant does not look bad, it looks buttery and flaky. Maybe if he is having breakfast, he would get it, some other time maybe. The chocolate truffle cake and carrot cake also look heavenly. And there’s red velvet and sans rival, too. Too many choices!
“Mm. What can you recommend?” He asked Wen Ning instead because he was really having a hard time choosing. And he feels like the barista had been waiting for him for all eternity. It is best to finish their business now.
“Oh. oh… my recommendation. Uhm, I’d recommend the chocolate decadence cake if you like sweet stuff. But, if you are into fruity flavor, our strawberry shortcake is our best seller.”
“Mm. then I’d take that—” But before Wen Ning could confirm his order, the bells on the cafe door chimed. A loud voice and a whirlwind of a man also came into view.
“Wen Ning! I hope you saved me some of that strawberry shortcake because I really, really, really need it now!” The newcomer seems to be a regular if he is addressing the barista by his personal name. Lan Zhan could not help but take in the man’s features.
Tall and slender frame with a cinched waist. Wide childbearing hips partnered with the most plump-looking ass. Is it even possible for a man to look this breedable, Lan Zhan thinks? Maybe he could do research on that. His cropped pullover shirt slipped on one side showing his clear and smooth skin and deep collarbones. He is also wearing a paint-stained black sweatpants that perfectly highlights the delicious curves of his round ass. Long dark wavy hair tried in a messy bun. His face is sharp, yet he radiates softness with his tantalizing mercurial eyes. Lan Zhan is not sure if it is just the cafe’s warm lights reflecting on the man’s eyes that give him that impression but he is captivated nonetheless.
Lan Zhan shook his head a little, hoping to clear his mind of the shameless and unspeakable things it was conjuring at the moment. These thoughts are nowhere near appropriate, especially since it involves a total stranger. He did not notice that the stranger was already standing close to him at the counter.
“Hi, Ying-ge. Rough day? Sorry but the order for the last slice of the strawberry shortcake is already placed. I’ll make sure to save some for you tomorrow.” Wen Ning said to the man, Ying , and the man deflated. Lan Zhan did not know people could deflate, but he is seeing it now.
His beautiful pinkish lips pout on that reply, and Lan Zhan had made a creed to wipe that out of the man’s lips. A kiss would be a good way to erase the pout but would that not be too straightforward? Maybe he could start with something wholesome.
So, instead of jumping the man for a kiss, Lan Zhan said, “You should take it.” Well, he really likes to do the kissing, but he needs to be polite. His uncle had spent his prime teaching and instilling morals and ethics in him and his brother, which cannot go to waste. Maybe he would ask for the man’s name and his number, but that would be another challenge he would have to figure out. He hoped the other man would not decline the cake and give at least his name.
The other man turned to face him and gave him a blinding smile, “No, take it. It's yours, you could have it. Besides, you placed the order before I came in. Although, I think you just went ahead of me by 13 milliseconds. Not that I actually counted, but you know what I mean.” The other man said with a shrug. Truth be told, Lan Zhan does not actually think he should have the cake just because he finished speaking first. But whatever.
“No. You take it. I work nearby. I could get my fill tomorrow.”
“No. You want it now. It's yours—”
“Uhm. If none of you want to take the last slice, maybe you could just share with one another?” Lan Zhan perked up with the suggestion. Wen Ning, oh bless his soul!
Ying’s face blushed a bright shade of red at that and averted his eyes from Lan Zhan to face the counter and pointed an accusatory finger at the barista. “Ning-di?! Are you trying to sell me? No… your poor gege could not take this—”
“I’m sorry. If you are uncomfortable with his suggestion, I will leave. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable—” Lan Zhan interrupted Ying’s speech and pushed down his earlier hopes. It is stupid to think someone would want to share a cake with him. Everyone avoids him like the plague, he is used to that, but this actually hurts more than he expected.
With a gasp, the other man faced him with serious face yet mischievous eyes, “Ahhh, No! You did not make me uncomfortable, silly! I’m just really like this—” He then turned to Wen Ning again and gestured for him to finish the order. “We'll take it! How about giving us two spoons? And please add mixed berries smoothie for me, too.”
Before Ying could pull out his wallet, Lan Zhan had already handed Wen Ning his card. “Such a generous gege! Tell me how much my share is later so I can pay you!” Ying said with a cheery tone.
“No need. It’s on me. Let’s find a seat.” He really, really, really needs to find a seat now or else his legs will collapse. He does not know how managed to do it, but he did it. He has a date with the most beautiful person he has seen! Calling their first meeting a date might be a stretch but isn’t this how dates are?
“I’ll serve you your drinks later. Here’s the cake and your spoons. Enjoy your—” Lan Zhan is sure Wen Ning would say the word “date,” but Ying had cut him off with a thank you. He picked up the tray with both of his hands. Ying hooked his arms on his right arm and led him to a well-lit table with couches beside the window. He almost dropped the tray. Wasting the cake would be a shame.
Of course, as a gentleman, Lan Zhan waited for the other man to take a sit first. He set the cake and the forks down on the table, then placed the tray on the table next to theirs.
“Sit.”
“ Yes! Right! Sit!” The man gave a small chuckle before taking his place.
“We should take a seat—”
“We are already seated…” Another breathless chuckle came out of the man’s pretty mouth.
Before they could continue, Wen Ning came to their place to deliver their drinks. The other man eagerly sipped his smoothie, a white line of foam stained his upper lips. Lan Zhan is tempted to swipe his tongue on that to remove it. Before he knew it, he was already reaching for the other man and wiping it using his thumb. He thought he was possessed. He did not stop using his thumb to wipe the foam off but also sucked his thumb after.
The other man flushed at his actions and stared at him with parted lips. “Lan Zhan.” Introducing himself hopefully would salvage this not date . He could only hope he had not spoiled the mood yet.
“Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan ah—” his name sounded heaven from the other man’s mouth. He wants to hear him say his name again and again. Everyday. Until the moment he breathed his last breath. That’s a dream. “Yes, yes, your name is Lan Zhan!”
“ Yours?”
“Huh? Yours? Yes, yours! I mean—”
“Your name?”
“Ha? Yes, right, yes, my name. What's my name?”
“ ....” There was a pregnant pause between them before the other man erupted into melodious laughter. His smile is beautiful, but his laughter sounds like heavenly fairies singing. He wants to hear more of that.
“Why am I asking you for my name? Silly! I'm Wei Ying!” He would cherish that name forever. He is already thinking of what to write in his wedding vows. A spring wedding sounds good. He should start looking for an events coordinator to set up the wedding.
“So, Lan-gege…”
“Er— I have an older brother.” Wei Ying’s eyes seemed to be delighted at that. Lan Zhan really hopes he is doing this right. He does not have much experience with dating. Actually, he has never been on a date before. The closest he had on a date was third-wheeling his brother on his dates with Nie Mingjue.
Right, he could use his observations from their dates to his advantage now. Hmmm, what does Nie Mingjue does to impress his brother? He had already paid for their snacks. What else? Movie tickets? Maybe they could catch the last full show. Flowers. Yes, flowers! Nie Mingjue always had flowers to give to Lan Xichen during their dates.  But shouldn’t the flowers come first before the food? Maybe he could sneak a quick message to Nie Mingjue to ask him for advice.
A small cough from in front of him called his attention back to his companion. He can’t help but stare at his pretty face and kind smile. “Uhm. Sorry. I’m not used to going on dates—” Oh no, he’s ruined it. This is not a date! How could he forget they were total strangers five minutes ago?
“So, is that what this is, Lan-er-gege? A date? You’re so straightforward! I didn’t take you for a flirt!” Lan Zhan hoped Wei Ying did not notice his ears blushing from his teasing. “Oh, hahaha. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to tease you too much! That would be rude of me!”
“I’m sorry, too. I did not mean to be presumptuous.”
“Nah. Nah. Nah. None of that! Well, we might have been total strangers earlier, but we could turn this into a date. Only if you want, tho! I will not force you into it!” And yes! Lan Zhan totally wants this to be a date badly.
“Only if Wei Ying also wants this to be our date.”
“So smooth, er-gege! Yes, I would love this to be our first date!”
And with that, they had their first date. He learned that Wei Ying is a freelance artist currently working on his main canvas for his first solo exhibit. He showed him samples from his portfolio, and everything was great. Wei Ying asked him if he could be his muse for his painting. Of course, Lan Zhan naturally agreed. Maybe he could also ask Lan Huan and Nie Mingjue to come and see Wei Ying’s exhibit.
Nie Mingjue’s brother, Nie Huiasang, has a wide reach. It would do Wei Ying great if his works were recognized by those who have an eye for great talent. Wei Ying is nervous about his first solo exhibit flopping, and he already had encountered difficulties. A little exposure would bolster Wei Ying’s name in the industry. Wei Ying deserves only the best and Lan Zhan would happily help boost his career.
He also learned that Wei Ying volunteers as an art therapy teacher for troubled kids in care shelters. He should find a way how to make the care shelter part of Lan Corp.’s philanthropic responsibility. Wei Ying is doing great service to their community and society, it is only right to support him. If he was captivated by Wei Ying’s appearance earlier, now, he knows he is the one. His soulmate.
The shared piece of strawberry shortcake tasted sweeter with they both eating it. The stress of the day was washed away by the lavender mint tea and Wei Ying’s presence. They left before Wen Ning closed the cafe for the day. By midnight, they had their first kiss in front of Wei Ying’s apartment. Lan Zhan went home that night way past his usual bedtime, but it was all worth it.
The following year on their anniversary, they would be sitting on the same window seat. Wei Ying suggested making it a tradition between them. They would wear the same set of clothes they wore that fateful day they met. They would drink the same drink they had, lavender mint tea for him and mixed berries smoothie for Wei Ying. and of course, they would share a slice of strawberry shortcake together.
Fifty years after their first meeting, they would still be doing the same. Lan Zhan had bought the cafe to ensure their little tradition would not be interrupted. Their son and grandchildren teased him for it, but Lan Zhan could not regret it. Wei Ying still had that same blinding smile the first time they met. He would happily continue their anniversary tradition for the next fifty years. He only hopes to keep that smile and melodious laughter of Wei Ying.
His best friend.
His husband.
His life confidant.
His soulmate.
His Wei Ying.
-end-
Note:
This idea popped into my head last 520 (Chinese Valentine's), but it took me too much time to actually write it.
I also used to think that mango cake was the best cake, but strawberries made me change my mind. How I wish I could have strawberry cake every time I want it. Wouldn't that be nice?

Thanks for the tags @fatalfangirl, @captain-aralias, @artsyunderstudy, @cutestkilla, @orange-peony, @ivelovedhimthroughworse, @bookish-bogwitch & @you-remind-me-of-the-babe 😍 loved reading your words this morning.
Some bonus-COBB content after the break: an alternate version of their morning after as shared in my latest chapter.
Baz POV
Then he’s standing and wrapping me in his arms, nuzzling at the side of my face, pressing a kiss to my temple. “Did you sleep well?”
“Perfectly.” I’m a puddle of emotions and I cling to him like I might sink into the floor. “Thanks for the goat.”
“Told you I liked them.”
We hold each other: bare chest to bare chest and I’m itching to make light of this. To point out my earlier lapse into puberty and how, back at Watford, it was my good luck to have a voice change over summer and Simon’s poor luck to suffer the indignity of a cracking voice in front of me, a boy who never let mistakes go unnoticed.
(How can the past stay buried when we have so much of it?)
Simon breaks the silence. “Would you like some coffee?”
“Tea, if you have it.”
With one last squeeze, he releases me with a brief peck to my lips. “I’ve Earl Grey but it’s old, unfortunately.” He walks to the kitchen and I follow. “Nico brought it the last time he visited, which was, admittedly, awhile ago. I’ve converted to coffee.”
“So American,” I tease.
He shrugs as he searches his pantry. “I always liked it, and the tea’s never the same here.” He locates the box with an, “Ah hah!”
“Do you miss it?”
Pulling a kettle from the counter to fill under his tap, he looks over his shoulder. “England?” He turns back to his task. “I suppose I miss some of it, but I’ve grown to like Austin. It’s sunny, the people are friendly, and, god, the food.” He sets the kettle on his stove, turning around to lean against the counter. “And it’s not like I’ve family there or anything.”
“You’ve got Natasha and Malcolm.”
His smile misses the top half of his face. “Yeah, but it’s not the same.”
I roll my eyes. “I swear, there were times after the band split where I thought they might side with you in the divorce.”
“They’re your family.”
“That doesn’t mean they don’t still love you. Or that they don’t see your side. Or that I’m without fault.” I cross my arms over my chest. “You’re the one who dropped off the planet and moved to another continent.”
“I was trying to give you space.”
“I didn’t ask for space, Simon. Or, if I was, I wasn’t asking for you to slink off to America.”
He scrubs a hand through his hair. “Then what were you asking for?”
“I don’t know.” I hug myself tighter. “I didn’t know then and I don’t really know now. I think I just wanted to hurt you the way you hurt me.”
“Yeah, well,” he huffs a dismissive laugh, “mission accomplished. You always were good at pinpointing the best place to stick a knife.”
My fingers twitch. “Did you send that tweet?”
His eyes snap to mine. “You’re not seriously asking that.”
“Then who did?”
The kettle whistles behind us. Simon turns to pull it off its burner, dropping it onto a cool one with a loud clunk that makes me jump. With a sigh, he makes my tea, one cream, one sugar. Just the way I like it.
“I’m sorry,” I tell his back.
His head nods but he doesn’t face me, his arms brace the counter on either side of my tea. Finally, he turns around and hands me the mug he’s made up.
“I’m sorry,” I say again, but this time he shakes his head.
“I didn’t–”
“You don’t have to–”
“--send that tweet.”
“--tell me if you don’t want.”
I decided: FUCK THIS ANGST lol and gave them a little honeymoon instead. It didn’t feel right for them to fight about this. Maybe it’s unrealistic to some people, but I just wholly believe that they’re older, more mature, and have lived ten years soaking in regret. They want this to work, desperately. Not that they don’t still have things to fix, but it’s more their own personal guilt, rather than holding onto past grudges.
Ooh also I managed to get a photo of Mr. Face’s Eat Me shirt:

𓏲  *   ( logan lerman, cismale, he/him, harry styles cc )   ⸺   pictures of EVAN COHEN have been showing up all over my feed, and considering the last time they were #trending, it was due to yelling at the paps outside of a club — i'm not likely to unfollow anytime soon. with their wide leg black pants, white undershirt with a sweatshirt on top and comfortable high top sneakers, i'm not surprised to hear that they are considered part of the BLUE BLOODS. after thirty years, they've managed to garner a reputation for being more captivating than frenzied, but their critics say that they're more fickle than passionate when they aren't too busy focusing on their at least folded corners of a journal, unsent letters and scribbled out words, barely decorated and cold penthouse, scratched out polaroids, the feeling of finding the theatre seats empty when you're backstage, cinnamon gum and black coffee. when they aren't occupied with their work as a musician, they've been sighted painting portraits of his closest friends. reputation.com has taken to calling them VENOM in order to avoid a lawsuit ( again ).  ──  pinterest tbd.
grew up to trevor cohen [ one of the biggest film directors/producers in hollywood ] and rachel cohen [ his muse ].
his parents rose to fame due to their love story. classic film lovers and rachel inspired a lot of trevor's filmography. they were almost love letters to her and it was very much a honeymoon stage for the majority of their relationship.
and though their relationship had been solid to everyone in hollywood, there was always something stopping them from settling down together, mainly from trevor's side.
evan came along, a very unexpected surprise and though his mother was THRILLED, trevor was terrified. he never wanted kids. his biggest fear was having kids and not being good enough for them.
that fear drove him away from evan during the most important years of his life, the time he needed his father the most. he was so scared of screwing things up, he just didn't try at all.
trevor avoided showing any signs of parental love towards evan and instead of encouraging his musical talent, he resented him. he didn't want him in the spotlight and he brought him down as if that would pull him away from it.
when evan turned sixteen, he secretly auditioned for the xfactor and was eventually eliminated. which was embarrassing to go back home with considering this was his shot to prove his dad wrong. his mother was the mediator and tried to encourage evan either way.
a few days later, he got a call that they were interested in making a boy band with him and a few other contestants from the show. evan was a little bit wary of the idea but at this point, there was not much else to do so he said yes, mainly to escape from his father's disappointing glares.
obviously, the band took off and became the largest most popular boyband in the country. [i.e one direction]
and suddenly, evan was launched into overnight fame.
nights alone in his bedroom singing were replaced by a lot of responsibilities. recording, press, tours, albums.. etc it was all very overwhelming for him.
the fame got to him and he fell into a deep party/fuckboy phase. got into a lot of scandals in the media and his publicists found him to be a nightmare to work with.
im leaving this up to plotting but a specific scandal/incident shook him into wanting to change. that was when he decided to quit the band and go solo.
he went on to release two studio albums, garnering a lot of new fans that didn't really like him in his boyband.
he eventually grew to love acting too so he went into it, booking a few roles like don't worry darling, my policeman.
personality;
before the fame and the glamor, he was mostly a bookish loner. he never really went out and kinda kept to himself.
after the band, he partied a lot and was really messy. didn't care about anyone's feelings but his own and was really shit towards people / his own band.
he's now trying to be better and he's matured a lot too. so he's a reformed party boy. he's always one scandal/mess away from going back though so he's really trying his best to stay on a clear path.

Thanks for the tag @martsonmars!
I just need to add some final touches to the first two chapters of my COBB fic, and then I will be ready to post on Friday! Here’s one last look at the fic before then; this time it’s the new beginning I wrote:
Simon
Seven days in Jamaica. An unforgettable honeymoon.
When put that way it sounds easy. Baz and I will eat and drink and dance and swim. We’ll have fun. We can enjoy ourselves without having to act like a couple because it’s not like his family will be around.
It’s so simple.
That’s what I’ve been telling myself anyway.
Walking down the aisle, surrounded by Baz’s friends and family was easy. Vowing to love him forever wasn’t quite as easy, but it wasn’t technically legally binding either, so they were just words. Taking wedding photos after the ceremony was…interesting. It wasn’t easy or hard. Good or bad.
It was just…. It was like playing a part. The starring role in a movie, where I’m in love with someone and ready to spend the rest of my life with him.
Playing that part was surprisingly easy because three months ago, I was that guy.
and @bookish-bogwitch came up with an idea for a fic in the comments of the fic I posted yesterday, and I decided to run with it. So here’s a glance at that, which I’ll put under the cut along with tags!
Agatha
Simon and I were never going to work out back then. We needed time to find ourselves, to find out who we were without each other and who we were outside of Watford.
While I chose to step away from magic, Simon had it ripped from him, and we were too different. It took us years to find our way back to each other, and somehow, that included Baz.
I'm not entirely clear on the details of how he and Simon got together, but I'm glad they did because they seem happier together. I'm even more glad that there was room in the relationship for me.
and a bit from Baz’s pov that I can’t decide whether I want to continue:
Baz
I used to think that I would only have one great love of my life, and I was ecstatic when I found out that he felt the same way. Mine and Simon's relationship hasn't been perfect by any means, but it was great. It wasn't until we ran into Agatha that I began to realize that there was something missing. Or rather, someone.

FIONA
Basil’s lured me out to Soho and sat me across from the bloody Chosen One. At this toffee-nosed pâtisserie that reminds me of mine and Nicky’s honeymoon.
Bet that was intentional. Manipulative cur.
You always loved it there, didn’t you, Tasha? Paris. All the history, all the old magic. Remember when you took me down into those catacombs when I was a girl? Six million bodies down there, you told me. Remember how frightened I was until you held my hand in your mighty mitts?
Goddamn fucking catacombs. Had to go and get yourself offed at blimming Watford didn’t you? Had to go out with a warrior’s death so no one could question your legacy. That’s just like you. You were always the one with real balls of steel, weren’t you?
I’ve always played pretend at it. Tried to live up to you. And failed at it. But me failing is the only reason this boy’s still around to tar the Pitch name now, isn’t it?
He might have more balls than you or I ever did.

Staff Favorites: Fiction Book Picks
In honor of Book Lovers Day on Tuesday, August 9th, this week’s recommendations will feature staff favorites here at the Rock Island Public Library!
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
Between life and death there is a library, and within that library, the shelves go on forever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be if you had made other choices... Would you have done anything different, if you had the chance to undo your regrets? Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision. Faced with the possibility of changing her life for a new one, she must search within herself as she travels through the Midnight Library to decide what is truly fulfilling in life, and what makes it worth living in the first place.
Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner
Do we change or does the world change us? Jo and Bethie Kaufman were born into a world full of promise. Growing up in 1950s Detroit, they live in a perfect “Dick and Jane” house, where their roles in the family are clearly defined. Jo is the tomboy, the bookish rebel with a passion to make the world more fair; Bethie is the pretty, feminine good girl, a would-be star who enjoys the power her beauty confers and dreams of a traditional life. But the truth ends up looking different from what the girls imagined. Jo and Bethie survive traumas and tragedies. As their lives unfold against the background of free love and Vietnam, Woodstock and women’s lib, neither woman inhabits the world she dreams of, nor has a life that feels authentic or brings her joy. Is it too late for the women to finally stake a claim on happily ever after?
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is just back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach - an “outlander” - in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of Our Lord...1743. Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life, and shatter her heart. For here James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire - and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton
A tiny girl is abandoned on a ship headed for Australia in 1913. She arrives completely alone with nothing but a small suitcase containing a few clothes and a single book - a beautiful volume of fairy tales. She is taken in by the dockmaster and his wife and raised as their own. On her twenty-first birthday they tell her the truth, and with her sense of self shattered and with very little to go on, "Nell" sets out on a journey to England to try to trace her story, to find her real identity. Her quest leads her to Blackhurst Manor on the Cornish coast and the secrets of the doomed Mountrachet family. But it is not until her granddaughter, Cassandra, takes up the search after Nell's death that all the pieces of the puzzle are assembled.

She was off limits.
My best friend’s little sister.
He warned me away from her once and I’d respected his wishes, but six nights alone with her in a tropical paradise tests my loyalties.
When my fiancé calls off our wedding with only days to spare, I’m left with two non-refundable tickets to our honeymoon. The only person available to take her spot: Taylor Wesley.
I try to keep my word and keep my hands to myself, but some temptations are too hard to resist. The passion between us explodes like a stick of dynamite. With a connection this hot, someone is bound to get burned.

Book Description:  Please read my review of this book in comments. Many changes have taken place at Wood Rose Orphanage and Academy for Young Women while Carolina and Larry were on their honeymoon in Frascati, Italy, on the Granchelli farm. The newlyweds have been given a larger bungalow; Ms. Alcott, niece of the founder of Wood Rose, and Mrs. Ball, assistant to the headmaster, have moved into a bungalow together; and Jimmy Bob, caretaker and night watchman at Wood Rose has moved from his family home down the road a bit into a small bungalow on the orphanage property with his hound dog Tick, as well as his new cat and her litter of kittens. Summer is coming to an end and the F.I.G.s will soon return to the universities to complete their special projects. They are starting to feel anxious, and the coping mechanisms they have used their entire lives are starting to work overtime. Dara’s thoughts turn to an unknown language, possibly from another world; Mackenzie focuses on the relationship of math to music; and Jennifer keeps hearing the note of B flat minor and is drawing dark swirls on her canvas board. #yamystery #yafantasy #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #yareads #yafiction #youngadult #yabooks #bookworm #bookblogger #booklover #books #authorsofinstagram #indieauthor #bookish #fantasybooks #fantasy #bibliophile #booknerd #yafantasybooks #bookaddict #booksofinstagram #yabookstagram #yalit #youngadultbooks #ya #ireadya #writersofinstagram #bookaholic  https://www.instagram.com/p/CijXV-MAOqG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

🌻BOOK REVIEW Deep Water Emma Bamford This one was definitely a slow burner, and it started off very long-winded as we got to know the characters and the connections came to life. I adore Alex Garland's The Beach, and this had the same vibe with a modern twist, so it was perfectly suited to me, and I adore this subgenre. Nothing is ever as perfect as it appears, and the plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat. Tandem Collective, thank you so much for having me on this book tour. The book, ticket, and map details piqued my interest from the moment I opened the PR package! [pr product] Lies can be buried... Secrets always come to the surface Amarante is paradise... An uninhabited, unspoilt island somewhere in the Indian Ocean. Only those who know it exists can find it. But paradise comes with a price... Virginie and Jake sail to Amarante for their honeymoon, but they are not alone. They have to adjust to life on the island with five strangers. And not everyone will live to tell the tale… Dark secrets surface and their dream abruptly turns into a nightmare. Removed from society, they find out what they’re truly capable of. 🏷 #bookstagram #books #booklover #book #bookworm #bookstagrammer #reading #bookish #bookaddict #booknerd #bibliophile #instabook #booksofinstagram #readersofinstagram #b #read #bookaholic #booksbooksbooks #bookphotography #bookshelf #booklove #love #bookreview #bookcommunity #bookblogger #instabooks #booklovers #reader #igreads #bookrecommendations via @preview.app (at Par, Cornwall) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgSovYcoA4X/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
