I have the feeling that many people think that if you are a witch you should always have a "pure soul", "be positive" and just not do/practice anything negative.
My personal opinion is: Sis... We are witches, of course we will curse someone, of course I rage, sometimes I have bad days. It's not always about light and love.
Just keep in mind that no matter what you do, it can (No need) backfire on you - Just protect yourself and your loved ones.
But don't assume that because you're a witch you're only allowed to think positively.
it's okay being 'negative'. Not everyone has to like you and you don't have to like everyone either
This is the post. thanks

Garden is overrun with pioneering volunteer species and the soil is mostly clay, but I picked these (wild radish) for some backyard salad foraging.
Image description. A lightly tanned left hand in a white linen sleeve holds a metal colander one third full of white and pastel purple four petaled flowers and bright green seed pods. It is golden hour, and tall plants of the the flowers, wild radish, take up the majority of the frame around the colander. The top fifth of frame has cloudless blue sky.

Hex-Breaking Cookies 🍪✨
Hello darlings 🥰
As I’m always preaching how budget-friendly and even mundane witchcraft can be, I thought I’d share a way to incorporate hex-breaking in a simple cookie recipe!
Ingredients:
🍪 1 cup of flour (symbolizing stability)
🍪 1/2 cup of sugar (representing the power of sweetness)
🍪 1/2 cup of butter (symbolizing protection and strength)
🍪 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (for purification and cleansing)
🍪 Pinch of salt (to remove negativity)
🍪 Optional: Additional herbs or spices associated with protection, such as rosemary or cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to a temperature of 350°F (175°C), symbolizing transformation and renewal.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and any additional protective herbs or spices you wish to add. As you mix, visualize the hex or negative energy being broken and dissipating.
3. Melt the butter and add it to the dry ingredients. Stir the mixture while focusing on imbuing the cookies with protective energy.
4. Add the vanilla extract to the mixture, envisioning it as a purifying and cleansing agent that banishes the hex's influence.
5. Continue to mix until all the ingredients are well combined, forming a smooth dough.
6. Take small portions of the dough and shape them into cookie rounds. As you shape each cookie, visualize the hex shattering and disappearing.
7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and place them in the preheated oven. While they bake, imagine the heat transforming and neutralizing any lingering negative energy.
8. Bake the cookies for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown, representing the energy of positivity and light.
9. Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool. As they cool, envision the protective energy infusing every bite.
10. Enjoy the cookies, savoring each one mindfully. With each bite, affirm that the hex is broken and that you are now free from its influence.
Tumblr media
The power of this spell lies in your intention and focus. By consuming these hex-breaking cookies, you symbolically consume the energy of protection and liberation, allowing the hex's power to be broken and neutralized. Feel free to alter based on your intention and preferences and may this spell bring you the freedom and release you seek ✨

Hiiii so when I began my journey back in 2020, I relied heavily on YouTube for witchy material. All the fancy things they tell you you absolutely need for a spell, then there’s the terminology that I was so stressed about because I thought I had to know it allllll or I couldn’t be a witch.
I was constantly looking at budget friendly hauls so that I could at least get the fancy stuff “on a budget,” again, assuming I needed it all.
I found myself being so stressed all the time and it really made witchcraft seem like a chore instead of something I was really interested in.
However, there was a smaller channel that I started watching, called Ginny Metheral. She’s a fourth generation witch and has such a light to her, you can feel it through the screen! It’s amazing seeing witchcraft through her eyes, as she’s so experienced and was raised with it! Four generations!
I went back to her channel today and watched a few of them with new eyes, no longer stressed about following everyone else and now knowing I make my practice my own.
This video was pretty cool, though.
youtube
It’s a banishing spell using parsley! I never thought of that.
I totally recommend her channel.

Spiritual Path reading for me :3
Tumblr media
Where you're at
Tumblr media
Where you're going
Tumblr media
Next step
Overall: Currently I'm feeling the gears start to grind as winter comes and thus flare ups of all sorts come up as well. The flow of time is cruel... and such. Recently been having the re awakening the Wheel mentioned, I've had a lot of spiritual challenges recently as I'm basically grinding for XP right now. I've had to confront the fact that I am very strong in my connection to the divine, however, the dead has proven to be a little harder for me. It's a disappointment because I thought I was more spiritually powerful, but it's also more beneficial because now I know what to work on. And that leads to Where I'm going, the devil. I could throw a tantrum and mope about my imposter syndrome but that's not going to make it go away! I have a clear cut solution; I have to talk to the dead, and the best option I have for that is unfortunately my abuser who I swore to never talk to again (but uhh I guess I technically didn't swear not to contact him post mortem so its cool right??? ^^''). I have to face the Devil and my own limitations and expectations before I can make any real progress. My Next Step is a Three of Rupees/ Three of Pentacles, a reoccuring card I get usually in reference to the Mystic Mysfits shop which is starting to become more of a reality as we are planning on boothing at events next year! The sisters symbolism here is kinda funny, at first I was thinking it could be in reference to a gemini friend of mine, or the shop in general, but I think it may be in reference to the absolute rancid terf vibes that we have discovered in our local magic community. Womben type bullshit,""""""" Wombsgiving""", anti-birth control methods that aren't herbal, all charging 44 dollars to hang out and paint pictures of vulvas. After all this came to light, we started making motions and budget plants to start teaching classes as this event space since obviously anyone can do it. Despite the store being queer friendly they still allow this shit to go through so we are working on bring some queer community to this bullshit. No one in this area has updated their spiritual beliefs since that acid trip in the 70s so it needs some reliable information. My husband is planning on doing classes on gender, science, and witchcraft and I am planning on teaching spirit work basics and tarot. So basically I think the sisters represents the local Sisterhood (aka Cisterhood) lol. This is all apart of the plan and makes me feel like I actually have a plan for Sagehood so I regard this as pretty positive! I will definitely be praying for all the Wisdoms to help me with my research.

they cried justice
Hello! My name is Yarrow and my pronouns are he/hymn/they!
This is my blog where I experiment with a term I came up with, anarchy witchcraft. I'll explain what that is.
what is anarchy witchcraft?
Anarchy witchcraft goes hand in hand with justice work, but I feel I can explain better by listing some goals of the practice:
Reconciliation between witches and cultures who are often appropriated from by witches and other spiritual people.
Decolonizing the craft
Supporting marginalized communities in the craft, and with the craft
Providing new ways to practice that are budget-friendly.
Fighting against capitalism, fascism, and anything or anyone against the people.
Justice work.
A community oriented practice
I will be gatekeeping this term. Anyone can use it until they show signs of being a fascist, conservative, racist, transphobe... Anything like that.
I encourage those who see this who don't fall into the above dni, and want to use it, use it! You can be an anarchy witch, anarchy wizard, anarchy practitioner... Any label you like!

15 Of The Best Tools & Ingredients For The Broke Witch
Tumblr media
BY AVERY HART
Getting started as a witch can be truly daunting, even more so now that we have access to thousands of blogs and photos that show us how other witches are practicing. It can be hard to look at these more experienced witches and not feel discouraged. After all, many of us have been collecting tools, supplies, and books for years! It seems like there’s a list a mile long of things you need or want to practice witchcraft, and many of them come with a hefty price tag.
For lots of new witches, you may not have the extra cash lying around to drop on these items (or maybe you do and just aren’t ready for that much of a commitment!). Whatever your reasons for keeping your practice money-light, witchcraft doesn’t have to be expensive. Here are 15 tools and ingredients that are perfect for the witch on a budget!
1. Bulk spices
Herbs and spices purchased in the bulk section of grocery stores can be dirt cheap. You can get very small amounts of what you need and have it add up to only pennies. Just the other day, I bought three bay leaves for a spell. The price tag? $0.04. Talk about budget-friendly.
Stick to the cheaper options to keep the price down. Cinnamon, bay leaves, basil, coriander, ginger, and red pepper are good options. In a very well-stocked bulk section, you may even be able to find lavender, rose-hips, and jasmine over with the bulk tea.
2. Sticks
It may seem silly to suggest sticks as a tool, but a good stick can be a lovely addition to your witchy toolkit. Sticks can be turned into wands or wall hangings. They can have spells carved into them and be burned or hung over doorways. Sticks can even be made into brooms! A good stick has a multitude of uses and is completely free. All you have to do is go for a nature walk and see what you can find.
3. Leaves and flowers
Much like sticks, leaves and flowers can be used in many ways and they are entirely free. I would suggest either cutting (not picking, this can kill the plant!) fresh leaves and flowers to use immediately or collecting leaves and flowers to press so that they will keep and can be used regardless of the season.
Drying the petals of any flowers you receive as gifts is also a great option! Rose petals are used in many spells and can last for a very long time if stored properly. The only caveat with this method is that these flowers are often sprayed with pesticides and chemicals to keep them fresh, so they should not be used for any topical or internal use. This means no teas, no baths, and no oils to be placed on the body.
4. Hand-me-downs
Hand-me-down items can be great for witchcraft! Even if you’re not in love with the item itself, with a bit of altering many used items can be super useful in the craft. Old dishes? Paint them and use them as altar pieces. Old clothes? Use the fabric to make spell bags, tarot card wraps, and altar cloths.
And if you don’t typically get hand-me-downs, don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to take advantage of used items. Hold a clothing swap with your friends, or check out yard sales, thrift stores, and flea markets.
5. Recycled jars
Ahh, jars. It’s no wonder that witches are always joking about how much we all love jars. It seems like I’ve never got enough of them lying around. They’re amazing for everything from storing ingredients to casting spells and when you reuse jars instead of buying new ones, it’s good for the planet too!
Just remove the labels (a good soak in hot soapy water and a stiff-bristled brush helps) and paint the lid if you like and you’re good to go! One of my favorite ways to prep my jars is painting the lid with chalkboard paint. It makes labeling jars a snap!
6. Odds and ends from the craft drawer
Your craft drawer is a treasure trove. Pretty much everything in your craft drawer can be used for witchcraft. Fabric can be made into spell bags, pouches, tarot wraps, altar cloths, ritual clothing, and more. Yarn, thread, and twine can all be used for knot spells and tying off spell bags. Needles are useful for banishing and baneful magic. Thimbles can be used for protection. Clay can be made into amulets, talismans, poppets, and containers. Pretty scraps of paper can be used for sigils and written spells. The possibilities are endless. Crack open that craft drawer and see what kinds of ideas you can come up with!
7. Dirt
Dirt may not be the most exciting ingredient for your craft, but it has about a million uses. My witchcraft kit is never without a jar of dirt. Dirt can be used in spells ranging from protection to healing to prosperity and baneful magic. If you think about it, it makes total sense! That’s a bit of the earth that you can incorporate right into your magic. A tiny amount of dirt is teeming with living organisms that have the capacity to both spark the life that keeps our planet functioning and decay those things which are no longer living. If that’s not powerful magic, then I don’t know what is.
8. Dollar store candles
Dollar store candles are a lifesaver. I’ve almost always got a box of emergency candles, colored birthday candles, and white pillar candles in glass jars lying around because they’re just so damn cheap. Instead of spending a lot of money on candles, I can get away with only spending a few bucks for a ton of them, and then I’m set for candles for a month.
To keep costs down, I typically stick to white candles. Colored candles are fun, but keeping a bunch of colors around is more expensive and, to be honest, I don’t notice much of an effect on my spell casting. If you really want to use a colored candle, that’s where the birthday candles come in. They give a little pop of color when you really want something other than white to work with.
9. Moon water
Moon water (and really any charged water) is a budget witch’s dream. You can make it with plain old drinking water and a glass jar. If you take the moon phase into account, you can make charged waters for each phase of the moon to boost your magic when you need a spell but don’t have the time to wait for the right moon phase.
Not into lunar magic? There are TONS of other options for charged waters like solar water, color-infused water (just put the water in colored glass bottles!), water charged with herbs, rainwater, and snow water. The possibilities are endless and the supplies are easy to come by.
10. Grow your own herbs
Growing your own herbs is an easy way to connect with the earth and save a little money in the long run on supplies. Often, you can root cuttings from fresh culinary herbs to plant and have your own supply growing in a windowsill year-round. Herbs typically don’t require much space, so they can be grown in recycled jars and tea tins.
My favorite herbs to keep on hand for my craft are mint, sage, bay leaves, and rosemary. Check and see if any of your friends or family members are growing herbs already! You may be able to snag cuttings for your own garden from them.
Do you struggle with getting results from your herbal magic? You’ve probably used herbs in your craft dozens of times, almost every spell involves herbs, but for a lot of witches, herbal magic just seems to fall flat. Or maybe your spells work ok but it still feels like something is missing. You’ve been told that plants and herbs can be incredibly powerful magic but you just never seem to be able to experience that for yourself. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone and my Magical Herbalism class is designed to help you to uncover the secrets of magical herbalism with ease. The truth is, you’re missing crucial pieces of information! If you’re ready to start feeling confident and getting results from your herbal magic, click here to learn more about my Magical Herbalism course.
11. Salt
What witchy supply kit is complete without salt? Salt is useful for all manner of magic, including cleansing and banishing. It’s also typically quite cheap. While it may be more aesthetically appealing to go for the Himalayan pink salt, regular table salt is far more readily available and works just as well, I promise. Salt is another item that may be available for much cheaper in the bulk section of your local store, but if you don’t have bulk goods available near you, you can often find a box of salt for just a few dollars.
12. Your makeup drawer
Your makeup can do double duty and serve as a perfect way to expand your craft. Enchant your lipsticks to sweeten your words, your eyeliner to help you see the truth, and your foundation to help you appear more favorably to other people. You won’t have to spend any extra money to incorporate makeup magic into your current routine, and it’s a lovely way to add a little more magic into your day-to-day life.
13. Loose change
I used to hate having loose change. It seemed to sneak into everything, my pockets, my purse, on my counters, between the couch cushions, under car seats. These days I look a little more favorably on my change. Anytime I find a coin, I pick it up and take it to my prosperity bowl. This bowl sits near the entrance to my house and is enchanted so that every time I drop change into it, it attracts more money to my household. It also charges the coins so that when I need a little financial boost, I can take them and use them to buy something, releasing a little burst of wealth-attracting magic.
14. Dollar store journal
Dollar store journals may not be fancy, but you can often get them in a variety of sizes for a dollar or less apiece, meaning you can get one for home and one to carry with you. These notebooks can be decorated and personalized however you like and then used to record your witchy doings. The thing I really love about using cheap journals is that I don’t have to be concerned about messing them up. I can write and rewrite spells, make notes in margins, spill potions on the pages, and rip pages out without feeling bad. Use these journals as a catch-all for information and when you’re ready to create a more carefully made grimoire later, you’ll have all the information you need at your fingertips.
15. DIY Pendulum
Do you have a necklace with a pendant that you wear a lot? Congratulations, it’s now a pendulum. Any object, pendant, or stone on a chain or string can serve as a divination tool in a pinch. Fancy crystal pendulums might be nice, but you may find that a necklace you wear close to your heart all the time speaks truer and is more readily available when you need a quick answer.
So there you have it! It’s entirely possible to have a wide array of witchy supplies available without having to spend a lot of money. You just have to get a little creative and work with what’s easily available to you.
Remember, while having tools and ingredients is great, they’re not necessary to practice witchcraft. It’s entirely possible to be a witch and never use a single herb, or crystal, or altar. I frequently do magic without any accompaniments and it works just as well as magic that I do with a full altar and all the spices in my cabinet. The important thing is that your craft works for you.

#Herboristerytips : Where can you find herbs pt.1/2
Hi, it's Ash ^^, and today, i'm going to spill the tea about herbs (I know, this joke was lame). In witchraft, as in entitywork (i use this term to reunite ancestor and deity work), we are using a lot of herbs and incenses. Those elements can became, quikly, quite expensive. Here are my few advices to help you practicing with a more budget and environnemental friendly approach.
First of all, I recommand you to have a good correspondences book. I unfortunantly don't have any english recomandation, but i'm pretty sure a lot of people here do, so please, go check on them.
Why, you would say, because I just talk about saving money before ? First of all, it could help you create your own spells a hundred time more efficiently. And, more importantly, identifying why exactly you need an herb ; is it for protection, giving strenght to the spell, balance the effect of another element, refers to a certain entity domain... And, see if you can find another herb already in your possession that can do the job. Correspondences are possibilities sleeping into an herb, like a path with multiple directions. Consecrating a plant, is infusing magic into it, in order to awake the possibility that is interresting for you at the moment. This is why you could use mint for divination, protection, and a offering to the dead. So, a correspondance book could be an investment, but it's worth it, and you will be able to use it during all of your practice.
This point being said, let's revue the free ressources that you have while looking for an herb
Your witchcraft reserve of simples can, halas, be limited. I strongly advice you to go immediately looking into your cooking spices, aromats and infusions. There is no shame in using them, you just have to be careful with 2 things : blendings, because you will have to check every plants in there to be sure that everything is corresponding to your project, and artificial flavours, those things will not help you in a magic way, because the connexion of the plant and magic is no longer existing.
I will not advise you here to use essential oils. I will developp my point of view on this topic in another post, do not worry.
The last place that I can advise you to is go outside : in your garden, parcs, forets, swamps... Nature is the witch playground, so please, go on walks, and pick things that interest you. If you'r picking something that is already dead, on the floor (like a pinecone, or leafs), you don't necessery needs to thank the plant for it (you can do it however, it will not hurt a soul), but if you'r picking something that is still alive, you must ask permision, and give something in return as a sign of gratitude and compensation.
As you can see, all of this options are, for now, free. I will explore the rest of the list in another post. Until this time, feel free to ask any questions.
Take care ^^
Ash

I line dry my family’s clothes as much as possible to save money (less electricity and less wear on the clothes), to sunbleach stains (two toddlers), and for the environment (less manufactured energy more wind and solar passive energy). In summer it also helps cool my home like a swamp cooler.
I installed a new laundry line with a fancy pulley system so I can hang while standing in one spot. The usual cotton rope I buy wasn’t available at the store, so I bought sisal rope - apparently more sun resistant, and it’s not plastic. I hung it on an overcast day. A week later, I had to tie a slip knot in it and pin it because it was too slack.
The next day, it rained.
Sisal swells in moisture.
The hook I used to hang my pulley was unhooked by the sheer tension and the whole thing collapsed in freshly forked dirt. Even untying the slip knot was not enough to rehook it. I installed a new hook and used some chained up carabiners to rectify.
So here is the proper way to install a laundry line, particularly for sisal:
Ensure the drill is drilling in (not out), and using a ladder or otherwise boosted drill a pilot hole with a screw shorter than your hook into a solid support. I used a fence post and a shed roof on a post.
Screw a heavy duty hook in to the support. Repeat between 20 and 100ft away with another pilot hole and hook.
Hook the pulley assembly onto the hook, then run the rope around it. Gently pull it to the other hook and repeat with a second pulley. Tie into a big loop using a square knot, so the tension on the knot pulls it tighter instead of loosening once you have weight on it.
Using split rings made into a chain, or a length of chain that can fit over the hook, attach a chain to the hole in the pulley assembly with a carabiner. I recommend about 18 inches of chain. This should be at the spot you intend to stand while hanging laundry. ALWAYS STORE ON THE LOOSEST CHAIN LINK.
On a particularly dry day, go out and loop the carabiner to the hook. Retie your laundry line to its tightest. Rehook at end of chain so there is lots of slack in case of high humidity.
When hanging laundry, unhook chain and rehook at appropriate chain link or carabiner for the day’s humidity to be taut but not overtight. Every item or three you hang on the line, attach a carabiner to the lines. This helps keep the two lines of the loop together instead of tightening the empty top and slackening the loaded bottom.

The pulley is looped with sisal rope tied in three square knots with a curled 8 inch tail. Close to the pulley are black, brown then red to purple carabiners in rainbow order. The pulley is attached to a silver carabiner, which is in turn looped onto a white plastic covered hook screwed in to a 4x4 wooden post. A chain of 18 metal split rings dangles from the carabiner. The line has a slight parabola but is clearly taut.

The viewer is looking at a simple square blue grey shed that has the other end of the laundry line hooked to the far left roof corner. From right to left in background are visible a bush blooming with dark purple flowers, five tall skinny cypress trees, the shed, a mass of overgrown wild radish and a yellow blooming succulent, oak trees in full dark foliage, and some empty garden beds. The sky is bright blue and cloudless.

Beginner witchcraft spell books share a bunch of spells that are usually a little complicated, or require loads of ingredients, herbs, crystals, tools, etc. They're normally quite visually loud and fanciful, which don't get me wrong, I love and many of us do. But what I find isn't considered enough is that these sorts of spells are actually quite inaccessible for many beginners. If you're just starting out on a brand new spiritual journey, would you really want to go out and spend a whole bunch of £££ before you even actually cast a spell? Will you want to even perform magic that someone you know could easily question you about? Maybe you'd prefer to practice quietly for the meantime, whilst you're testing out whether you actually like this path or not. In my latest video I give 5 spells in accordance with these things. Super simple and easy spells that any beginner can practice and adapt to their own preference.

Budget-friendly herbs/spices
Something I learned today when I was out buying groceries - if you have a Turkish / Middle Eastern shop near you, check out their herbs and spices section!
You can find cinnamon, rose petals, cloves, verbena - the place I shopped in today even had valerian and dried orange peel! These packets are typically less than £2 for approx. 50g (depending on the density of the product, this can be a LOT), and you get plenty to use a pinch here and there for spell jars and the like.
These shops are also good places to source gum mastic - also known as Arabic gum or Tears of Chios - which is a tree resin you can burn as incense. On its own it’s good for focus and concentration, and it’s popular in blends for ceremonial magic. Mastic gum is unfortunately quite pricey no matter where you go, but behind the counter they might have small packets for under £1.
Look for the brands Gama and Anjoman in particular - from previous experience working for a world foods website I know these are reliable, good quality and affordable brands.
Where I live I don’t have anywhere like this nearby, so I’ll be stocking up before I head home! Also doubles as a kitchen cupboard restocking mission, so it’s a win-win ^-^

Minute Magic! Busy, overwhelmed, on a tight budget? Use Minute Magic!
We all know witches love glass jars and bottles. But, creating spell jars and burying them outside is not always cost-effective, environmentally friendly, or even safe. Imagine finding a powerful spell jar and opening it... that could go wrong quickly. And if you live in an apartment or dorm, finding somewhere to bury a spell is difficult enough, without having to bury a solid container.
A much more cost-effective container would be a dried corn husk, or a large outer cabbage leaf, or even a non-bleached paper towel. Wrapped around the spell ingredients and tied with cotton string, the spell can be buried and will return to the earth, grounding the magic.
Save your jars and bottles for potions, tinctures, bitters and for your home apothecary.
