prompt: 8. "who let you look so cute today?"

steve was over the moon when your sweet self showed up at his door with a woven basket asking him to go on a picnic with you.

he was too busy staring at you in your little summer outfit as you excitedly explained all the fruits and cheese you brought.

your hair was braided with sweet satin ribbons woven through. your checkered sheet and bottle of cheap wine were peaking out of your adorable basket. your eyes sparkled in the sun as you ramble on about your plans for the day.

“—and i even made your favorite cookies stevie!”

“huh?”

“chocolate chip! they’re still warm i think. watcha staring at?”

“you”

he took the weighed basket from your hands placing it on the concrete. the next thing you felt was his arm wrapping around your waist. pulling you against his chest.

steve gently tucked a stray hair behind your hair and whispered against your lips, “who let you look so cute today?”

you tried to avoid his gaze as heat rose to your cheeks. despite being together for so long steves compliments always made your heart flutter.

he started to place soft kisses all over your face, cheeks, nose, eyes, until you were giggling softly and finally looked at him.

“there she is. you look so pretty baby. you planned this all f’me?”

“yeah, todays so nice isn’t it? do you like my idea?”

“oh i think it’s the best idea in the whole samn world. pretty jealous that i didn’t think of it” he fake pouts which makes u laugh again. his favorite sound in the whole world.

“yeah i bet its the work of all those cheesy novels you’re reading”

Don’t focus entirely on him. Chat with other characters now and then. Exclusively focusing on him will weird him out.

Pay him compliments, but make sure they’re sincere ones. Just being like “oh, Sparky, you’re so cool!” won’t cut it. He knows he’s cool. But what’s cool, specifically?

If he wants to help you with something, let him. It means he’s starting to care.

The best thing to make for him for Valentine’s Day would be dark mocha truffles.

When you’re stuck in the greenhouse with him during the storm, stay there instead of trying to get back to your dorm. He’ll start talking to you about the weather and you’ll get to know him better by seeing his passion for meteorology and science.

If you’re in an argument, no matter how stubborn he’s being, don’t just give up and tell him he’s right because you’re tired of arguing. Stand your ground and state your case. Try to reason with him. He likes seeing you motivated and passionate about something.
