DPXDC Prompt #58 Part 4

The living room and kitchen were deserted, neither Danny nor Jazz expected anyone as it was normal for their parents to essentially live in the basement only coming up for meals once or twice a month to ‘eat as a family’, these would consist mostly of fast food as no one trusted anything cooked in their kitchen.

They shared a glance as they opened the basement door and headed down. The dimly lit basement held the giant hole in the wall, the so-called portal, a massive metal spectacle with wires and interconnected circuitry met together to create an unholy abomination of science. Or at least that’s what Jazz called it once when they were in her room venting about the situation. 

“JAZZ!! DANNY!!” their overzealous father yelled as he bounded over.

Their mom walked over too, seeming to be happy for their return, “your father and I could barely contain our excitement all day!! Go on put on your hazmat suits.” their mom gestured over to the lockers that held the suits. Both of their parents' lockers tended to be quite empty since they practically lived in them, to the point where they had several copies of the same suits that they’d wash and reuse. Danny and Jazz only had the ones, Jazz had a nice dark violet color with black gloves and boots. Danny had black gloves and boots too but his was white to make it look like he was an astronaut, something that he had mixed feelings on. Both of these used to have a giant picture of Jack’s head on it but it was quickly removed by both siblings. 

They quickly put the suits on over their uniforms and joined their parents behind some glass near the portal. It wasn’t closed off or anything and Danny didn’t think it would be able to prevent something like an explosion from charing all of them but it’s hard to have faith in parents who've missed so much because of the stupid portal, or at least that’s how Danny felt. 

Jazz and Danny huddled together behind their parents as their mom did some final checks on a clipboard, “alrighty we should be all good, Hun you ready to throw the switch?” their mom asked their dad. “As ready as I’ll ever be!” Jack yelled as he threw down the switch.

…

A few sparks erupted from the portal but other than that nothing happened. 

Their dad, frustrated at this angrily tried turning it off and on again but nothing but another smaller spark and then truly nothing. 

Another low frustrated growl left their dad as he and mom walked back up the steps, “alright I’m taking a break.” Jack said, almost defeated, sounding, “I’m sorry but I really thought we had it this time.”

“Oh come on, Jack, let’s go out, I’m sure the kids were probably going over to the Wayne’s again anyways. Let’s go out and have a fun night then sleep on it.” their mom said, patting dad on the shoulder. They shared a fond look and then went upstairs probably to get ready. 

Danny and Jazz stood at the bottom of the stairs and shared a look.

“They gave up too fast again…” Jazz noted.

“I guess, what do we do now?” Danny asked.

“I’m still a little curious about the portal but I don’t want to keep Damian, Tim or Alfred waiting,” Jazz said with a hand on her cheek.

“We could invite them in, I know we haven’t before but maybe Tim would know how to get it working, he is pretty good with technology.” Danny reasoned. Neither of them really wanted to involve the Wayne’s in their family’s shenanigans but at this point they were all friends and Damian and Tim were bound to find out how weird their family was at some point anyways.

Jazz stood there seeming to think things over before she nodded, “alright I trust your judgment but we’ll have to be careful okay?” 

Danny smiled at her, “of course, what’s the worst that could happen?” 

This is what led to the four of them standing at the bottom of the stairs. Their parents had left about an hour ago. Danny and Jazz were still in their suits with Tim without one and made to sit with Jazz behind the glass and Damian and Danny planning to explore the actual tube.

“I don’t want to chance you getting hurt,” he said to her as he made her stand next to Tim.

Damian and Danny shared a look and nodded before heading into the tube. 

They looked around for a while but didn’t see much besides the interconnected wires on the floor of the lab. Damian took the right side while Danny took the left. They worked their way up and down the tube. Damian was a little ahead of Danny on their way out. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary.

When they were almost out Danny lost his footing, his hand flying out in front of him. A soft click was heard and time seemed to crawl to a stand still.

Danny couldn’t stand the thought of his friend getting hurt because of him and he felt a rush of adrenaline. He ran as he felt a swirl of energy and electricity surround his body. 

“DANNY!! DAMIAN!!” he heard both Tim and Jazz shout as he reached Damian who was at the mouth of the portal.

A quick shove was all it took to get Damian, who had turned towards him at the sound of the shout, out of the portal. 

“DANIEL!!” he heard Damian shout as the portal activated on top of him, surrounding his body with swirling green.

Blinding pain shot through Danny, feeling as if he was being torn apart and put back together again and again.

He figured he was dying but at least he could protect those he cared about. He was able to shove Damian out of the portal in time, and Tim and Jazz were safely behind the blast glass.

He wouldn’t ever be able to fly among the stars as an astronaut but he was able to protect. His family and friends were safe and that’s all that mattered. 

He could allow himself to succumb to the darkness as the electricity and pain consumed him whole.

Physical injuries

Back To The Future Part 1

- Crashes car into the barn

- shot at by farmer and tripped

- Hit by a car and hits his head on concrete leaving him unconscious for 9 hours

- Crashes into people whilst skateboarding

- Punched in stomach and thrown in car

- Almost passes out and fades into no existence

- Crashes car again

- Throws himself down hill

- Collapses in house

Back To The Future Part 2

- Knocked out by biffs men and is unconscious for 2 hours

- Punched in stomach by biff

- Hit by door and knocked out by his past self

- Kicked in stomach by biff

- Shot at a lot

- Cans thrown in his stomach

- Fingers caught by Stricklands chair

- Driven and almost crushed against some trees

- Elbowed to the face and punched

Back To The Future Part 3

- Falls down hill and crashes into fence, knocking him out for 6 hours

- Dragged by ground by horses and hanged (which almost killed Michael j fox in real life)

- shot and thrown back (whilst wearing bulletproof vest)

Mental trauma

- Witnesses friend shot and is almost murdered by terrorists

- Wakes up in his mothers bed and finds out he was undressed by his mother

- Mother makes out with him

- Witnesses his mother get SA’D

- Constantly trying to save docs life and doc refusing to hear Marty’s warnings

-witness doc “dying” again

- has to live his life knowing that the world and family he grew up knowing no longer exists and that the “marty” his family in the new timeline know, no longer exists.

Back To The Future Part 2

- Learns of his fathers murder and that his mother has been abused by his fathers murderer

- Alternate reality got in car accident and lost ability to play guitar and gets fired in dead end job

Back To The Future Part 3

- Deal with the fact that he was going to die in 3rd film/ doc was gonna die

MARTY MCFLY NEEDS A HOSPITAL AND A FUCK TON OF THERAPY

HE GOT KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS 4 TIMES AND LIKE 2 CAR CRASHES, HE WAS HANGED AND HAD TO DEAL WITH THE DEATH AND ABUSE OF HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS MULTIPLE TIMES

Whilst his mum was crushing on him 😭😭

I just know when Lynette fics start increasing some people are going to overlook her trauma and how it affected her and Lyney. It’s apart of their backstory and how it affected them as kids, so it doesn’t matter if you “don’t want to include it” or “it makes me uncomfortable”. That’s the point of writing for a character, you only write for those you are comfortable with. No one (should) be forcing you to go and write for someone you don’t want to write for. This applies to every character, not just the ones in Genshin Impact.

He had all sorts of dumb freakin nightmares for those first 9 days. Somehow being back on that gallows in Teufort was the worst one.

Jeremy sold some of his Tom Jones merch, which was thankfully still mint condition in that craphole Teufort. The people there weren’t trying to hang him anymore, but he still wanted his crap moved. Just being there made his neck prickle and itch, made him remember that goon crowd salivating as he got dropped.

He looked for other towns that might have fried chicken and good storage for his collectibles. There was one hours away, if he could get enough motorcycle fuel.

“Seven years. Seven years I been on this team, and not once did you even try.” ”I though you would be happier not-“

Mon Mothma having to watch her daughter willingly choose the fate Mon Mothma was subjected to is one of the most heart wrenching storylines in star wars.

Her fate was sealed when she was a child, even though her own goals and aspirations were admirable. She grew up knowing that no matter what she did or what she achieved she would only be perceived as a half compared to a whole alongside her husband.

She moves away from a system she loathes for how it affected her life. A decision she made in hopes that her daughter could escape it.

Furthermore, she's watching her daughter literally become the enemy, the very people she's working to take down. Fighting for the rebellion means that she is fighting her daughter.

So when I was making post about my Nimona aus, I never mentioned there any of the gruesome or traumatic events that I actually put in the au. So for those who might wanna know just for the angst or just want to know the full info of my au, here you go.

This one is for the Golden Guardian au (part 1?)

There were a few time when Ballister didn't talk or even shown himself (even in human form) to a Goldenlion descendant. Here were the reasons:

The first time (and last time) when Ballister shown himself to a descendant that he was a guardian of their bloodline, he got his wings cutted off. Warning: disabling, cutting off someone's body part. Let me explain, when Ballister first shown himself, he didn't have time to explain as the descendant immediately first thought he was a monster and attacked him. He managed to escape but that was after they sliced his wings off his back. But since he has angelic regeneration, he regenerated his wings back. Although... he couldn't show himself again to that descendant nor to future generations for a while.

The second event was only in a human form, warning: this one mentions r#p3. So in the backstory, Ballister would pretend to be a human and befriend those descendant to help them cope with their anxiety and pressure as a Goldenlion. Although their was one descendant that had lustful desire. One night they called Bal to do them a favor, before Ballister could find out what they were planning, well... let's just say that it was too late... and he hid himself from the same descendant and the next few generation again for a while... This actually happened twice. The second time was a different descendant but Ballister manage to escape that before it could of gotten worst. But it was still counted as r#p3 because it was an attempted crime, and he hid himself again.

The third event was also in a human form. Warning: this one mentions physical abuse and toxic friendship. This one if from another descendant who has severe anger issues and had a slight toxic personality. Ballister would be that really sweet friend who would still stay with their toxic friend as they thought that they could try to help their negative traits (spoiler, it didn't work). The descendant would yell and their anger out on Ballister, even if he wasn't the cause of that anger. They would even throw things at him sometimes like a target waiting for something to hit it. And when Bal thought about leaving their "close friendship", they would get down on their knees begging for him not to abandoned them and saying that they would change (which never happened), and Bal was too forgiving that he kept giving them second chances.

Ambrosius was one of the most apologetic, sincere, and actually made an effort to make up his mistakes descendant that Ballister had experienced.

(Idk if I should make this canon, but it was just a thought that you guys at lease want to hear) Warning: faking death. Ballister actually had to fake this death most of the time, since he was an immortal, he can't age. So before the descendants could get to their 50s or 40s, he would fake his death so he would disappear have to go through aging. Sometimes... those fake deaths were unplanned but he rolled with it, and some of those unplanned fake deaths were actually pretty traumatizing for him.

That's all the idea I had for now, have fun with angst :)

Now, one might ask: "Why and how do you have ideas that so traumatic?" or "Why would you do such gruesome and traumatic to him?" Well that's exactly the same question my cousin asks me every time I info dump to them about my ocs trauma, and it's fun :)

going out on a limb to share, but for me it has to be the Smart Underdog -> it's greg house bc of the insane high standards n neglect from a parent informing his drive to being a doctor - it's kieran bc i've felt driven (initially) by spite over people that betrayed me in some level to get better at a thing - and it's cypher bc of (perceived/hc) having no powers/money but is skilled anyway
