So yesterday I drove to Eryri and climbed Moel Siabod with the hope of clear skies. I reached the summit around 7pm and pitched my tent in thick cloud. Then it rained until midnight, so I didn’t hold out too much hope. However poking my head outside my tent at 5:30 this morning I was greeted with this absolutely stunning view.
Cloud inversion (noun) – a phenomenon when cold air is trapped under a layer of warm air.
Also known as temperature inversions, cloud inversions are a weather phenomenon created when a layer of cold air is trapped under a layer of warm air. Typically, warm air is closer to the earth’s surface. In an inversion, condensed moisture in the cold layer forms clouds that are trapped near the ground. Cloud inversions often form in valleys like those around Mount Rainier. It is not uncommon for it to be cloudy and cool at low elevations and warmer and sunny at higher elevations! Do you have photos of cloud inversions observed around the park?

i feel like the internet often lacks nuance for many things like there will just be one stereotypical view of a certain thing that will be trashed and mocked and everyone applies that negative association to anyone who innocently admits to liking or using or whatever the negatively criticized thing like family group chats? what's so bad abt that? like a family grp chat can be 3/4 ppl who live in the same house n hv odd times or whatnot n sometimes need to convey a mssg to everyone for safety reasons like your location or other reasons like reminders to pick up dinner or whatever n it's much easier to send a mssg to a grp chat than mssg everyone individually. like there are so many negative posts like if you hv a family grp chat ik we're not the same n it's like yh we arent the ppl i live with at least hv a certain level of communication rip you get better soon and on the found family website no less alkfj sdl too funny

I've been away quite a bit these last few weeks so have been largely missing off here. Last week I a ran a 3 day 1-2-1 tuition session in the Lakes, the first time I've been back into the Lakes since Spring this year, the weather the first two days was largely terrible but we still managed got a lot done, the second day was spent on a laptop doing processing as the rain just did not stop, the third day however was something of a totally different story, I'd looked the night before and thought it looked promising, and I opened the curtains to a world of foggy goodness covering the entirity of Windermere. This was shot about 15 minutes before sunrise over Skelwith Fold looking towards the Langdale Pikes and beyond, the vally flooded with silky fog and the sky colouring up nicely from the sunsrise to the East. You literally couldn't have asked for anymore, furthermore the day went onto get better weather wise with still water everywhere and gorgeous golden light, more than making up for the two previous days' drab showings. Welcome back to Lakeland :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Website - Pete Rowbottom, 1-2-1 tailored tuition available, message me for details -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
