Comic Theory: The Wilson family are descendants of the Shi'ar
Okay so here me out. There was a moment in comics where professor Xavier had a feeling Sam Wilson was a mutant (Thank god that was never confirmed. I still don't like that Kamala khan was confirmed mutant. I have my own issues with how BIPOC mutants are treated in comics.) and his contact with the stone just awakened latent gene's within him. Johnny Storm even asked Sam if he was sure he wasn't a mutant. But they never brought this train of thought back up. I always had a theory that either Darlene or Paul had pretended to be human to assimilate or have an ancestor that pretended to be human. That Sarah and Gideon as well as their kids also have dormant genes. Now that I watched episode six of X-Men 97 and seeing the Shi'ar race. A race of bird people that have a few people that have Psychic abilities. Who Xavier obviously has a lot of intimate knowledge about. Fun fact Shi'ar who breed with humans those hybrids are called Mutants. So what if those feelings Xavier was getting from Sam weren't a earth mutation but because he is a Shi'ar hybrid. It would answer why Sam always felt close connection to birds but couldn't explain why, the Psychic abilities, and why Sam has great feats of strength despite being "human". Also Newer Shi'ar tend to lose their bird features which is why lady deathbird has the metallic wings. So it would explain why we don't see the feathered hair and features. Everything points to the Wilsons being Shi'ar. We can even say high council Shi'ar since those with Psychic abilities we see in comics are on the council.

the sun mourns in vain for the white-throated rail: a comic about disability and the unwanted able-bodied grief for past selves.
[IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Page 1: The sun holds a white-throated rail, a bird with a red head, a gray body, and a white throat, in its hands. The sun speaks in a tone represented as sorrowful pity through a drippy speech bubble.
Sun: Looking at you makes me sad!
Rail: What?
Page 2:
Sun: Looking at you makes me sad!
The sun stands with a hand clutching its face.
Sun: How miserable it must be to be flightless! Don’t you yearn for the skies? Don’t you wake up grieving you’re still on land?
Page 3: The white-throated rail looks down in frustration in the hand of the sun.
Sun: (speaking off screen) I’d simply perish if I were you!
The rail speaks, looking down. Pink flowers bloom towards the bottom of the page, petals and pollen blowing in the wind.
Rail: Why do you put your words in my beak and your grief in my feathers? Am I not beautiful?
Page 4: The bone of a white-throated rail is positioned against a colorful galaxy dotted with flecks of stars.
Rail: Am I not adaptability in action? Am I not evolution in motion? Do you mourn the days you weren’t a star? Do you mourn when the sky was cold, how unbearably hot you must burn to keep embracing it every day?
Page 5: The sun looks at the viewer.
Sun: Why would I? That was then, this is now. I am content to be in this state.
Page 6: The rail looks up at the sun off-screen.
Rail: Well…So am I.

Color Like a Classic Comic Book
I'm doing some tinkering on Fauxstalgia stuff, and since I believe in sharing resources, here's an RGB PNG version of the official DC pantone guide, with the swatches re-sampled from current pantone standards. This set is from 1982, but should be generally believable for most stuff post-WWII.
The versions floating around online (two of which are under the fold) are scans of prints and are not accurate for color-picking.
Now, these colors would also be altered by the printing process, but for clean, pre-print versions, here's some authenticity.

Thinking about an AU where Clark landed on earth as an adult instead of a baby. Literally nothing changes except for Bruce having to hide this 6’4, 200 pound golden retriever who shoots lasers out of his eyes in his mansion.
Clark is VERY clingy and these soft whispers in his language send tremors down Bruce’s spine.
And, really, the moon rocks Clark keeps bringing are very beautiful, but it’s getting harder to explain where they come from.

TRANSFORMERS AND SOUND EFFECTS
IN LAST BOT STANDING VS THE WORLD IN YOUR EYES
I am fresh out of comic book club and yelling about (idw2) tf sound effects to @autothotsrollout so y’all are getting an unedited, very limited essay on sound effects in (parts of) IDW2 before I pass out
TDLR: last bot standing has more dynamic sfx than world in your eyes and therefor looks more interesting. (I expected better from you Tom /j)
So first, Last Bot Standing. I pulled these from issues 3 and 4 if you’re looking for them.
As you can see, the lettering for sound effects in LBS uses a wide variety of typefaces and stroke effects to give the letters distinct personality. Sometimes they’re large and take up the whole panel, sometimes they’re relatively small. They can be found in the foreground or background or forced into perspective. Also, most notably, they often follow the action that’s happening in the page — following the dust clouds from speeding roddy, following the path roddy skids backwards, in an arc around a point of impact etc. I’m my opinion, the dynamic lettering absolutely makes these panels more exciting and interesting (I acknowledge I’m biased bc fun lettering makes me excited. Some people might just find the good lettering doesn’t detract anything, which is also fine. But imo it def is better with the sfx).
Meanwhile, here are some examples from the world in your eyes (idw2 vol. 1):
I can see what the GOAL is for how the lettering is set up here (only very clean typefaces to evoke mechanical rather than organic sound). But the problem here is that there’s not enough variation. They’re all relatively the same size and sit on top of the artwork rather than integrating WITH the artwork. The typefaces between different sound effects are very similar (if not the same). Otomatopia with the same spellings are not only the same, they’re copied and pasted! The letter variation is exactly the same! We’re lucky if there’s a slight colour variation! Something else that is noticeable is that because of this more rigid copy-paste structure, quite often the sound effects don’t emphasize the movement in the panel, which feels like a missed opportunity. This can be seen especially in the last panel of the page with Megatron and Orion with the “THOOMP” and image of a liquid splash on the panel. The sfx could be curved around the splash or follow the direction of the fall, but instead it’s just placed on top. All these combined make the sfx lettering feel too standardized, flat and inflexible, which is unfortunate because afaik the dialogue and caption lettering is pretty good in idw2, the art is gorgeous, and if the sfx were more dynamic it would really elevate the quality of the comic overall.
If you’d like to read more about how letterers make their sfx match the action on the page (among other lettering tips) you can read more about it here!

Fallen angels?
Okay i understand why people may think of Crmila being a fallen angel. But Alastor and Rosie? Especially Alastor. There's absolutely no way that he was an angel LMAO. I also don't belive that Rosie can be a fallen angel. Like, come on, it's just her dress. And for angels, especially exorcists, it's just part of their armor! This is so silly
BUT!!! If Rosie is fallen angel it would add such an interesting dynamic to radiorose relatonships. Like........ How would Alastor even react to this? I'm trying to imgine and... I don''t think it would affect their friendship too much? Alastor isn't Charlie lol. But also he isn't Charlie. And Rosie pretty much THE ONLY person he trusts (as far as we can tell). So... That's really difficult to figure out his reaction. I think maybe he would not know how to react to this either! Like, from one side this doesn't change much. From the other side it's a kind of a huge thing to keep in secret.
HA MAYBE HE KNOWS! Like i'm sure they sometimes bite each other unpromted, it's their love language (pretty much like my mom LOL) (ha- now this is my headcanon for Alastor's mom too AHHAHDHAHSHDSAH) So yeah, he bit her once and saw golden blood and was like wtf, and rosie like, ah yeah i'm a fallen angel, but it's a secret don't tell anyone, and alastor's just ok then
anyone else to the pile of fallen angels?
