Since pride month is near the end I wanted to say some things to my queer siblings. This is important so please pay attention:

Write and draw YOUR own goddamn story. Corporations only care about profits so they are never gonna give us the proper representation that we deserve and straight people have their own fucking struggles, they don’t have time for us. You can do it professionally or as a hobby but please do it if you have the gift.

Read more books based on leftist theories. It will help you understand why the world is fucked up and how we can fix it.

Join left-wing political groups or parties. Despite what you have been told politics is life. Do you really want others to decide important things for you? Be political.

Donate to left-wing organizations, and join and support your local protest.

Learn to outlive your enemies. Just living a happy life and helping others to better theirs is a revolution, never forget that.

Know that if someone is intolerant to some groups they are also intolerant to others and obviously not your friends.

Remember that you might lose some of your so-called friends when you are trying to be your best and authentic self but you are gonna gain more true friends who will give up their lives to save yours.

We need to show the world that we are not what the reactionaries made us to be. We need visibility and it's our greatest weapon against bigotry, discrimination, and harassment.

Hiding isn’t gonna solve our problem. Running away from fascists is the same as being dead. Stand and fight as much as you can. Happy pride from Bangladesh.

আমরা কি আসলেই অকৃতজ্ঞ জাতি?

বঙ্গভঙ্গ রদের ঘটনায় খাজা সলিমুল্লাহ খুব ব্যাথিত হন। এ বঙ্গের চাষাভুষার দল যদি আরেকটু শিক্ষিত, আরেকটু বুঝদার হত তবে এ অন্যায় ঠেকানো যেত।

অতঃপর তিনি এখানে একটা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রতিষ্ঠা করবেন- স্বপ্ন দেখতে লাগলেন। ইংরেজদের বোঝালেন তার জমিদারিতে এক দাগে ৬০০ একর জমি আছে। সেটা তিনি নিঃশর্তে লিখে দিবেন। আজকের ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সেই জমির উপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত।

এই প্রকল্পও যেন বাতিল হয়, কলিকাতার প্রভাবশালী দাদা বাবু'রা বড়লাটের অফিসে এক প্রকার পাহাড়া বসালেন।

দাবি কি? তাদের দাবি এ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হবে কলিকাতায়।

খাজা সলিমুল্লাহ জনমত সংগ্রহের উদ্দেশ্যে কুমিল্লা আসলে একটি হিন্দু বাড়ি থেকে তাকে লক্ষ্য করে গুলি ছোড়া হয়। তিনি প্রানে বেচেঁ যান কিন্তু জনসভা ভন্ডুল হয়ে যায়।

ঢাকায় ফিরে তিনি বড়লাটের সাথে দেখা করে জানতে পারেন জমি দিলেও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হচ্ছে না। সলিমুল্লাহ প্রচন্ড ক্ষিপ্ত হয়ে হাতের বেত দিয়ে বড়লাটের টেবিলে বাড়ি মেরে প্রতিবাদ জানান।

এই প্রতিবাদই তাঁর জন্য কাল হয়ে দাঁড়ায়। বড়লাটের হুকুমে তার দেহরক্ষীরা খাজা সলিমুল্লাহ কে মাত্র ৪৪ বছর বয়সে গুলি করে হত্যা করেন এবং সেই লাশের কফিন কখনোই খুলতে দেয়া হয়নি।

সেই খুনের ত্রিশ বছর পর নবাব সলিমুলাহর জমিতেই আজকের ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, সচিবালয়, বিচারালয় সহ কত কত প্রতিষ্ঠান। অথচ কোথাও তিনি নেই। একটা সভ্য জাতির স্বপ্ন দেখা মহান এ কালজয়ী পুরুষের জন্ম- মৃত্যু বার্ষিকী গুলো চলে যায় নিঃশব্দে।

এ দেশের ছেলেমেয়েরা তার নামই জানে না। চাঁদপুরের এক কোনে অপরিচিত একটা গ্রামে জন্ম নেয়া এমন স্বপ্নবাজ একজন তরুন আরেকজন সলিমুল্লার জন্ম প্রত্যাশা করে,অবিরাম স্বপ্ন দেখে একটা পজিটিভ বাংলাদেশের।

সবচেয়ে মজার বিষয় হলো, যার দানে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রতিষ্ঠিত হলো তাকে তারা একটি বার মনে করার প্রয়োজন বোধ করে না। কিন্তু যিনি (রবীন্দ্রনাথ) বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রতিষ্ঠার সবচেয়ে বেশি বিরোধীতা করেছেন দিনরাত তার বন্দনা পূজা করাই সেই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রগতিশীলতা - বিজ্ঞানমনষ্কতার প্রমান…….!

গত ১৬ জানুয়ারী ছিলো উনার মৃত্যুবার্ষিকী। আল্লাহ উনার ভালো কাজের উত্তম প্রতিদান দান করুন। আমিন।।
