Mama DADDY Natasha — The One With The Baby Shower!
Warnings: Some Melina appreciation, alcohol, pregnancy.
Tumblr media
"Babe, if I wasn't married to you, I might just love your mother like-"
"What?" Natasha raised her brow at you in warning. "Like what?"
"Like how I love my mother! Duh!" You chuckled nervously, looking away from her intense gaze. "Love, I was just, um, joking."
"You know I'm jea-" She sighed, kissing your temple while rubbing your bump with her warm hand. "Nevermind. Do you need anything? Are you hungry, baby?"
"Nah, I'll probably just talk to your mother," You said while she glared at you again. "And Yelena and Alexei, of course!"
"I'll go get you some water, okay?"
"Mhm, thanks." You nodded, staying in your place while caressing your 7-month-old baby bump. Just then, when you were about to go around and look for your best friends, Melina came trudging by your side with an affectionate smile, seeing you blooming with your second babies. "Melina! Hi! How have you been? How's Ohio? Willow missed you!"
"Yeah, I can tell, she wouldn't let me go." She laughed, and you stood there trying not to get flustered by how beautiful this woman looked (not that you're cheating, just more on admiring and stating facts). "We're good in Ohio. You?"
"We're okay here." You nodded nervously with a grin. "I mean, it would've been better if you moved here."
"I'm sorry, what?" Melina raised her brow when she didn't quite catch your low mumble. "Were you saying something?"
"Oh, no, no." You playfully hit her shoulder, earning a frown from her. "I'm just saying that we're good here. Willow loves to play with Morgan and Peter."
"Good," Melina agreed as Alexei joined the both of you. "Where's your granddaughter?"
"She's with her aunt Yelena," Alexei answered, his voice thick with a Russian accent. "How have you been, huh? Baby number two and three are coming near! And soon, baby number four is coming too!"
"Yeah." You laughed with wide eyes. "We're not really sure with number four yet. Willow and these babies are just, um... surprises..?"
"So, none of this is planned?" Alexei frowned, gesturing wildly towards your stomach, and somewhere else, "I didn't raise my daughter, Natasha, like this! Everything should be-"
"It's because you didn't raise us!" Yelena butted in, looking over where she came from while you followed her vision of line, only to see Kate holding Willow in her arms. "Hey, Y/n/n."
"Lena." You acknowledged her with a gentle smile. "Hi!"
"Hi!"™ She greeted back, her head tilted slightly to the side as she prolonged the vowel.
And it went like that, catching up with the Russian family until Natasha came back with a glass of water and clingy Willow in her arms.
"Everyone!" You heard Tony's voice on the microphone. "We're gathered here today to celebrate another life and another journey with the Romanoffs! Let's give them a round of applause!"
Everybody clapped loudly, with Willow clapping happily along with the guests while you scrunched your nose due to the sensitivity of your ears. Nonetheless, you felt your heart leap in joy as you looked through the room filled with your loved ones.
"Natasha and Y/n, may we hear some speech from here?" Tony asked, making you groan dramatically while Natasha rolled her eyes.
"Baby, we don't have a choice; you know him," Nat comforted. "I promise, after this, I'll give you a foot massage, okay?"
You pouted, "Promise?"
"Cross my heart, my love," Natasha confirmed, guiding you as you walked onto the stage. Being the gentlewoman that she is, she gave you the microphone first.
"Okay." You sighed over the speaker, and the guests laughed. "I just want to thank you all for the effort of coming here. I hope you live for as long as you'd like."
"Baby," The redhead chuckled lowly beside you, shaking her head at your antics while it's her turn to speak. "Thank you very much for coming. We appreciate all the love that you give to our children."
"Not much of a talker, you two." Tony pursed his lips when he grabbed the phone back from Natasha. "Back to the party!"
-
"Hey, are you okay?" Wanda sauntered towards you. She had just come in because she also needed to be a mother to her children. "I'm sorry I'm late, but I brought a gift."
"Nonsense." You brushed her off. "You shouldn't have. It's okay."
"Nah, I insist." She scrunched her nose adorably, handing you the gift that she wrapped perfectly. Just then, Yelena and the group entered with some alcohol in their arms.
"Lady Yelena!" Thor greeted, "I've brought the Asgardian Ale!"
"This is why I like your company, Thunder." Yelena smirked, grabbing the bottle from the Asgardian while passing it to the others, such as Kate, Carol, Bucky, Sam, Gamora—you get the gist. All of them drank some of the hardcore liquor until all of them stumbled groggily along the hallway except for you and Natasha, of course.
Because Natasha didn't let you when you tried to sneak a little gulp.
"Baby, you're pregnant!" She chastised, kissing your pout away.
"Oh, come on! Let her have her fun!" Tony (the most drunk of them all) drunkingly uttered with a slightly loud voice, making Natasha glare at him with her infamous look. "Fine! Make her sad and old!"
"Shut up, will you?" Natasha mumbled impatiently with gritted teeth before turning back towards you, gazing at your most pitiful look. "I'm sorry, baby, but no."
"Fine." You sighed dramatically. "Wanna go to sleep."
"Okay, let's go." Natasha nodded, standing up when you did as she placed her muscular arms securely around your body.
You raised your brow at her. "Where do you think you're going?"
"I thought we're sleeping?" The redhead stared at you confusedly. "Where else would I go?"
"Oh, you're not sleeping with me tonight," You said with finality as you began walking your way to your shared room. "Go find your place somewhere on the couch—if you could even do that considering those Avengers who thought so highly of themselves when they drank that liquor without giving me some!"
Natasha protested as the others laughed drunkly, "Baby!"
"Night, Romanoff!"

Someone recently called Derek a "whiny edgelord" and I was like, wow, so you've seen two gifsets and not the actual show then.
Literally everybody else complains more than Derek. I think Derek complains one single time and it's when he points out that Allison and Lydia screwed him over and never apologised.
Dude is literally dying during season 4, and is like "well, i'm 23, it's clearly my time to go" and just naps.
derek has peak millennial energy but what's so funny to me is that one of derek's major character features is that he refuses to discuss his traumas with anyone. ever. at all. he would rather die. it's a huge plot point that no one knows that kate argent was the one who killed the hales. except derek.
like, laura goes back to beacon hills and begins looking into the fire. she does the footwork that peter later uses for his killing spree. they don't know it was kate. derek does.
the fire was never a mystery to derek but he didn't tell anyone because of the guilt he felt for the role kate forced him to play in what happened. he never told a soul what kate did to him.
only stiles and peter figure it out once they have enough of the puzzle. neither of them advertise the information.
derek doesn't even speak to kate all that much when she taunts him in the tell and later when she captures him.
the closest we ever get is in code breaker when he says to scott in the strongest case of projection beacon hills has ever seen:
"you want me to risk my life for your girlfriend? for your stupid little teenage crush that means absolutely nothing? you're not in love, scott! you're sixteen years old! you're a child!"
derek hale never talks about paige. other people talk about paige. not him. he never, ever says her name to anyone. jennifer and peter are the ones who co-opt the tragedy for their own purposes.
he doesn't talk very much about what's happening to him in season 4 and when this man is on his deathbed he tells stiles -- someone who means a lot to him and clearly is hesitating to leave him -- to go save scott.
derek hale don't talk about shit. sure he does get vocally angry about things and annoyed like you mention. he does with scott and stiles all the time and with lydia and allison in chaos rising:
this one [lydia], who used me to resurrect my psychotic uncle--thank you--and this one [allison], who shot about thirty arrows into me and my pack?
it's why his pants are so tight. they're holding in all his trauma. i mean what's he gonna do? talk about it? hell fucking no.
it's why stiles being derek's secret keeper is such a fascinating choice this show made. stiles learns all of derek's darkest secrets such as his involvement with kate and what happened to paige without derek having to explicitly tell him.
but derek knows stiles knows.
derek letting that lie and stiles not only never telling anyone else but never really confronting derek over these things is an act of trust.
anyway none of these characters were really whiny. not even jackson. they're just traumatized and that makes people uncomfortable.

Bar Owner!Reader x TF 141 - Part III
Like my follower requested: Finally the final part of the Bar Owner!Reader series. I hope you all like it. It was so fun to create it all for you. I listened to the 5 centimeters per second original sountrack the whole time writing this. I've got happy tears in my eyes :)
Warnings: Curse words (like always)
Tumblr media
Captain John Price
John knows already for years that he is deeply in love with you yet he didn’t want to accept it. From day to day it gets harder to push the realization into the back of his mind. If you would feel the same you would have said something already. He assumes you are not looking for a relationship. Probably especially not with someone who is always away on missions. Someone who is always in danger to die very soon. Someone like John.
He takes another sip from his whiskey watching you how you serve your customers. It’s a warm evening and you all hang out in the garden behind your bar. You look so incredibly happy talking with everybody while Cougar trails after you like a lost puppy. Your joy radiates like a ray of sunshine. Behind you the sun is setting on the hills coloring you in a deep orange. It makes you even more breathtaking than you already are.
“I think you should tell (Y/N) what you feel”, Kate next to him says nonchalantly like she would talk about the amazing weather. “Am I that easy to look through?”, Price thought no one would know about his little secret. His ever-growing love for you.
“John, humor me for a second. I noticed how you look at (Y/N) when you think no one can see you. Don’t you think you let (Y/N) waiting long enough?”, Kate gives him an overly confident smile. “What do you know, Laswell?”, John tries not to sound too excited. His heart keeps hammering against his chest. Racing to catch up to you.
“I don’t want to give away too much, but if (Y/N) would have died the bar and Cougar would have been yours. Is that enough for you?”, Laswell lets him on your very own little secret. John stares at her in disbelief. The bar is everything you have ever loved in your life. Just like Cougar. You trust him so deeply knowing he would keep both safe and sound.
Price stands up from his chair making his way over to you. “Hey, John!”, your whole face lights up as you see him coming closer. He loves how you say his name. Your voice so full of kindness and love. It makes his knees weak.
He can’t stop himself anymore as he cups your face softly in his big hands. Surprised you look at him with a slight blush on your cheeks. “You have no idea how much I love you”, not waiting for your reaction John presses a soft kiss onto your lips.
Shocked you let go of the drinks, which splatter onto the grass. Doubts creep in John’s mind breaking away from you, but you stop them immediately as you wrap your arms around him pulling him into another kiss. “What took you so damn long?”, you lean your forehead against his.
Everyone starts to cheer loudly. Especially Kate. She is over the moon to see you happy once again. It brings the two of you back into reality. “I’m sorry for making you wait, love.”
It took John years to confess his love to you, but he makes sure to catch up all the things you two have missed. John tries literally everything to make all your dreams come true. Sometimes he forgets that he is the only thing you ever wanted in life.
He is so very thankful for the joy you bring him every single day he can be with you. You were all along his reason to come back safely from missions, but now John is allowed to drown in your love openly. You are his one and only. The ray of sunshine he needs to forget all the pain and misery he has been put through.
Even if you love to make fun of the fact he waited for years not realizing you feel the same all the time. John takes it with pride, “The best things in life take time, love.” Naming drinks that take longer to prepare after him.
Bonus
(Y/N): So, you set John up to confess finally?
Kate: Yes, it worked, right? But I might have lied to him about something…
(Y/N):  Kate… What did you say?
Kate: … I might have told him that you would give him your bar and Cougar if you would have died.
(Y/N): … Well, that’s not that much of a lie. I totally would have, but I’m not that easy to kill.
Kate: Oh, come on. Don’t act like a superhero.
(Y/N): … I took out half of the Russian military, Kate. I am a fucking superhero.
Kate: … *rolls her eyes* Damn it. That’s true.
Soap: *witnessing everything* HALF OF THE RUSSIAN MILITARY?!?
Tumblr media
Simon “Ghost” Riley
Simon keeps his love for you hidden away with the rest of his emotions. Everyone knows he has a soft spot for you, but not how much his heart yearns for you. He wants to share his life with you. He wants you to know the real Simon. The one behind the mask. He wants you to see how vulnerable he can be, because he knows you would never hurt him.
“Fucking hell”, Ghost mumbles under his breath slowly overwhelmed by his feelings and thoughts. “Hey, boys. Another round?”, you stand by the table giving everyone your best smile. Simon can’t believe how much he loves you. It almost physically hurts.
Without a word he stands up to leave the bar. The fresh air calms his racing mind, but he doesn’t even try to untangle those confusing thoughts. Every single one of them revolves around you like they always do. How long can he uphold this façade?
“Hey, you okay?”, you followed him outside pointing towards the garden chairs, “Wanna take a seat?” It’s actually too cold to sit outside yet he accepts your offer thankfully. In silence the two of you sit together. You look at the sky seeing a ton of stars this night. Ghost looks at you wondering which god has sent you his way. You don’t try to start an uncomfortable conversation. Not even once you forced him to talk to you. He’s incredibly grateful for the way you deal with his peculiarities.
“Sometimes when I get overwhelmed by my thoughts I look at the stars. I try to remember all the constellations I learned over the years. It took me years to learn that it’s actually okay not to be okay and w-“, you don’t mind holding an one-sided conversation. Simon could listen to your voice all day long yet he interrupts you, “I love you.”
Simon can’t look at you after his rather blunt confession scared to see rejection in your eyes. You take his hand in yours softly to get his full attention, “I love you too, Simon.” There is only admiration and kindness in your eyes. His heart swells with happiness.
You know it wouldn’t be easy to love Simon yet you still did it with all you had. First things first, this man has to learn to trust again. Opening up himself. He lived so long behind a mask not sure how to be a functioning human being anymore. You are always there for Simon giving him exactly what he needs. Patience, love, honesty, safety.
This man would literally die for you in an instant.
You adjust to keeping your relationship under the radar for a while. Not even his team knows about the two of you. Except for Price. He knew right away after Simon confessed his love to you during that night.
One evening in the bar Simon decides it is time to make it official. Johnny likes to flirt with you in a platonic way. “Amazing drinks as always, sweetheart”, Soap winks at you grinning like the childish boy he still is.
“That’s my partner you are flirting with, Johnny”, Simon wraps his arm around your middle as you stand next to him by the table. A few seconds no one dares to say a word. Price leans back impressed by Ghost’s openness, “Pay up, Gaz.” Kyle rolls his eyes as he hands over the money.
“You did not bet on us?!”, you throw your rag laughing at Price. He raises his hands in surrender, “Sorry, it was clear as the day. Had to take the chance to win a fine bet.” Gaz shrugs one shoulder, “I thought you two would be just friends.”
Soap stares at all of you clearly confused, “Am I the only one who did not about this at all?” Smiling you push his shoulder playfully, “Your head is always up in the clouds to notice the small things.” Cougar pushes his way forward to put his head on Ghost’s leg begging for head scratches.
“Oh, that’s why Cougar likes you more now!”, Soap puts the puzzle pieces together way later than everyone else. Simon can’t explain in words how happy he is in this moment. He finally found his very own little family.
Bonus
Soap: So… (Y/N), did you see Simon without his mask?
(Y/N): … No, not yet and that’s totally fine.
Soap: You didn’t kiss yet?! Simon! What are you waiting for?
Ghost: Fucking hell, Johnny! None of your business!
(Y/N): Don’t be so harsh, Simon. Johnny doesn’t know how to woe his partner.
Ghost: … *tries not to snicker*
Soap: That’s right! I don’t know … wait, what? HEY!
Ghost: *proud of you* (Y/N), I love you so much~
Tumblr media
John “Soap” MacTavish
Let’s be honest, everyone would know right away that this man is so in love with you. Soap is not someone who can keep things like this a secret. As soon as he lays his eyes on you his whole face lights up and nothing can bring him ever down.
“Fucking hell, Johnny, tell (Y/N) what you feel or I do it. I can’t stand you drooling over the whole table anymore”, Ghost doesn’t mean it literally, but Soap’s puppy eyes and lovesick grin the whole evening make him gag eventually.
Soap would love to tell you what he feels, but is just way too scared to lose you. “Just rip it off like a band-aid”, Gaz isn’t really the right one to give out flirt tips yet he does it anyways. Gaz and Ghost would team up against Soap; teasing him non-stop to push him to his limits so he would finally confess his undying love for you. “Boys, please, leave the poor lovesick baby alone”, Price smiles into his whiskey knowing exactly what he’s doing.
Soap stands up from his chair without a further word making his way towards the good old jukebox. He choses the first song he played over and over again to annoy you. It’s also actually the song that reminds him off you. When Soap is away from you he is always listening to this song.
You can’t help yourself from yelling out an amused “Johnny!” as you make your way towards him. A slight smile appears on his lips as he falls over and over in love with you once again. It is the first time you ever called him Johnny and it’s the most beautiful sound he has ever heard.
He grabs your hands in his to overplay how hard they are actually shaking. The nervousness is eating at him, “Just listen for a second. I really need to get this off of my chest … Then you can yell at me or whatever.”
“The first time I ever saw you has burned into my mind, because it was the best moment in my whole life. You are a ray of sunshine. Every time I’m with you I experience so much happiness and joy like I could hug the entire world. If I could I would drown in this feeling for the rest of my life… Not that I’m proposing… I mean if you want me to I-I … Oh shit…”
Everything started out so good for him, then he starts to stumble upon his own words. Still Johnny keeps pouring his heart into his one-sided speech, “I really like you, (Y/N). I’m not the best catch out there I know but I pro-…”
You cut his rambling off with a brief but meaningful kiss. “You talk way too much sometimes, Johnny”, you wink at him grinning and the whole bar interrupts your moment with cheering. Cougar makes him way in between the two of you to share some of the love.
This man worships the ground you walk on and would do everything for you. Sometimes Soap is a bit childish, but it doesn’t bother you at all. It reminds you to enjoy the life how it is and don’t worry too much. He still loves to get on your nerves with doing stupid shit. Here and there Soap even teams up with Gaz to make it double trouble.
“Sweetie, you love me, right?” – “You are god damn lucky you are cute, Johnny…”
Johnny is literally moving in with you after the two of you start dating. You can’t convince me otherwise. Being always by your side is his way of love language. Of course, you are not mad about having him around you all the time.
But the most important thing is that you bring Johnny peace and happiness. For the first time in forever he learns what being in love with someone really means. Having a reason to come back in one piece from missions. Johnny loves wrapping you up in his arms for sure being the happiest man on earth.
“I love you so damn much, (Y/N).” – “I love you too, Johnny.”
Bonus
Can’t forget about the most important fact of your relationship. Sharing your lovely Scottish man with your dog…
Johnny: Don’t look at me like that. I love you so much, Cougar. You are my number one.
You: … Do you want some alone time with my dog, Johnny?”
Johnny: No, no, you can stay if you want :)
You: … -.-
Tumblr media
Kyle “Gaz” Garrick
Gaz is quite decent hiding his growing feelings for you behind his poker face. No one knows how much it costs him to keep up his coolness. He lost completely control over his own body. You entering the room is enough for him to turn into a blushing mess How is he supposed to tell you what he feels without making a fool out of himself?
Silently sighing Gaz downs his drink in one single sip. He hates how easy everyone seems to interact with you. Soap always makes you laugh with his jokes, while he can’t even make a conversation without starting to ramble or stutter.
Gaz only wants to let you know how much you mean to him. That you make his life so much better. You are literally perfection and out of his league. Why does he even bother to try? His desperation reaches another level.
Only alcohol can help him now. He downs another drink earning a concerned glance from Price, “You okay?” With a slight smile on his lips Gaz stands up, “Never have been better, Cap.” John just witnessed him downing two handful of drinks within an hour. He is clearly not okay, but maybe Gaz reached finally the level where he will confess his love to you. Price will keep an eye on him from afar.
“Hey there”, you greet Gaz with a smile that lights his whole world up. He hops onto the bar stool almost falling over with the whole thing trying to be cool. “Are you drunk?”, you have never seen him like that before ever again. Gaz usually knows his limits.
“No, not drunk. Only a bit tipsy”, an overly confident grin is plastered on his face. Knowing what an effect you have on him you lean forward pulling him closer towards you by his shirt collar, “Then proof it.” His eyes widen full of panic for a second, while his heart skips a beat just to double up the speed afterwards.
“If I would be drunk I would tell you how perfect you are. I would tell you how much love I have in my heart for you. There is a space in there that is shaped exactly like you. Being near you makes me so damn happy I have never been before. I could drown in your lovely eyes. This must be true love…. But I’m not drunk so therefore I’m not telling you all of this.”
His truthful words leave you shocked. A slight blush appears on your cheeks.
“Well, you just said it out loud, buddy”, Soap just stands a few centimeters away from the two of you witnessing everything. Realization hits Gaz like a baseball bat in his face. His drunk ass just confessed not knowing he spoke all of his thoughts out loud?!
“Soap!”, you throw your rag at him. Without a further word Gaz stands up bailing out completely sober now and makes his way out of the bar. “Oh no, for sure not!”, Price grabs him by his shoulders and guides Gaz back to the counter, where you are still standing.
“Don’t you dare to run away from me ever again”, you grab his chin to place a kiss onto his lips. Soap giggles in the background, Ghost makes fake gag sounds and Price just rolls his eyes, “Get a room, kids.”
Gaz still can’t believe his luck even after weeks of dating. You are the only good thing in his life and he would give everything to make you happy. Which means he lives his romantic side to its fullest. Planning out dates like almost every week. Burying you under a wave of presents he thinks you might like. Writing you pages and pages of meaningful words hoping you can understand what you mean to him.
But as soon as his ass is planted in the bar he turns into a literal child. Bickering with Soap about the jukebox. Making bets with him who can annoy you the worst. Sneaking drinks behind your back and so on. He even teams up with Soap AND Cougar singing songs from the jukebox. Well, Cougar only barks away happily having a blast with Gaz by his side.
“You are all grounded for the rest of the week!” – “No, baby! I love you! You know that, right? RIGHT?! BABY!”
Bonus
Gaz: … Thank you, Captain, for giving me the push I needed.
Price: You are welcome, kid… but please stay away from the alcohol.
Soap: … What about me? I helped too!
Gaz: You made everything worse!
Soap: I did not! You wanted to run away!
Gaz and Soap: *start pushing each other*
Price: Boys, behave.
(Y/N): … I love all of you, but bloody hell what did I get myself into?

October Special Masterlist
Tumblr media
"Sestra, it'll be fun" Yelena argued with her Russian accent coming in thick. It was Halloween and your sisters, Natasha and Yelena planned a little party for you with the help of the other Avengers, Alexei and Melina. It's been a few short months since your year of therapy had gone from three sessions a week to weekly appointments, your therapist was proud of how far you'd come since your sisters saved you from the subjugation of Red Room and freed you from the control of General Dreykov. You hated that they wanted to throw a party in your honor, you never liked the fuss being about you.
"Lena, I know you and Nat are happy for me and trust me, I am proud of myself as well but I just don't think I want to have a party thrown to celebrate" you replied before letting your eyes fall back down to the book in your hands.
"It is not just to celebrate how far you have come" Yelena spoke as she took a seat at the end of your bed, forcing you to put your book down once more. "It's about making new memories, ones that are real, ones we get to keep and talk about in years to come. Natasha won't admit it but I know she would love to fill the photo album she has on her bookcase and I would like an updated photo of the three of us" your older sister by 2 years went on.
She had a point and that made it hard for you to turn her down. Looking back on the memories you had with your sisters, it was hard to remember. You were only 4 when the mission in Ohio was completed and you were ripped from Natasha's arms. After that, it was blurred moments of fake Christmases, thanksgivings and other holidays just to give you three a moment of something that felt somewhat normal.
"Fine" you playfully rolled your eyes at the blonde, "will Kate and Wanda be there?" you asked with hope. Yelena nodded, "who do you think were the first to jump at the idea of baking a cake" she replied.
"A cake? Really?" you asked with a slight frown, of course your family were going to make this a big deal and honestly, for Yelena to say this would be fun was a comment you never thought she would say about a party.
----
Music mixed with laughter and chatter filled the room, Kate wandered around taking polaroid photos of everybody and placed them in a small box for you to look back on at a later date. Eventually the room became quiet, around midnight people called it a night and headed to bed leaving you, Yelena and Natasha still up.
"Now we can really party" Natasha smiled as she placed a bottle of vodka on the table along with three shot glasses. "Amen to that!" you replied in a sigh of relief, too much socializing and now you were finally going to have the party you truly wanted with your sisters.
Yelena poured three shots as you and Natasha threw streamers at one another, you started it of course. "Stop acting like children, lets drink!" Yelena announced as she carefully yet skilfully sliding the shot glasses down the table to you and Nat without spilling a drop. You downed your shot the moment it hit your hand, the burn of the alcohol in the back of your throat reminding you why you loved vodka so much.
It was long before the bottle of vodka was finished, and another was placed on the table. Crumbs of cake slices littered the wooden table while the three of you made new memories, jokes and brought up old, good memories.
"SO BYE BYE MISS AMERICAN PIE, DROVE MY CHEVY TO THE LEVEE, BUT THE LEVEE WAS DRY" the three of you sung in sync, now each holding a bottle of vodka. Wanda and Kate had come down from upstairs and watched the drunk mess unfold. You were laughing, when Yelena pushed you to the floor for standing on her foot for the 5th time. Natasha had the polaroid camera in her hand taking very drunken and blurry photos of you and Yelena before turning the camera on herself to snap a selfie.
"Do you think Tony would get made if we stole one of his suits? I mean come on! those things look so fucking sick!" You looked between your sisters. Yelena turned to Nat, "I'm with Y/n, let's do it!" she said before taking another mouthful of vodka from the bottle.
"Should we stop them?" Kate whispered to Wanda who shook her head, "no, let them have their fun" the Sokovian replied before gesturing her head towards the stairs as a way to say let's go back to bed. "I kind of want to be awake early to see Tony's reaction" Kate whispered once more as she followed Wanda up the stairs.
"Alright but you gotta be quiet!" Natasha said, bringing her index finger to her lips in a shush motion.
Cheeky smiles tugged at the lips of you and your sister as Natasha led you both down the hall to the elevator, pressing the basement button.
----
"Can somebody tell me why the fuck I found 3 of my suits scattered around the damn compound?!" Tony asked with pure anger in his voice. Your head was pounding, it had clearly been a while since you got drunk as much as you did last night.
"Tony, shhhh!" you looked up at him before taking a sip of your coffee.
"Nothing is broken, nothing to stress about" Natasha tuned in, taking her hang over a lot better than you were. She looked as though she didn't even drink last night.
"That's not the point Romanoff and you know it!" Tony snapped, "the three of you are suspended until further notice so I suggest you start thinking about cleaning up the mess you made!" he added before storming out of the room.
"What mess?" you asked with a frown as Natasha sat down across from you at the dining table, peanut butter toast in her hand. "Oh, that is on you and Yelena to clean" she replied with a light chuckle as you rested your head on the table to catch a few extra minutes of shut eye.
Yelena came into the kitchen just how Natasha did, as if a hangover was non-existent. "HA! Looks like somebody needs a little more practice on how keep their vodka down" she spoke, her loud voice making your head pound harder than before. Slowly, you lifted your head to look up at your sister, giving her a look of death has she stole Natasha's mug of coffee, "please shut up" you replied before letting your head drop to the table once again.
"You and Y/n have to go clean up the yard today" Natasha said after swallowing a mouthful of her toast. "Yeah, I figured" Yelena chuckled, bringing the mug to her lips, "you better go take a shower sestra" she encouraged you only to earn a mumble and grumble in return as you took yourself to the showers.
"Another round tonight and they will be fine" Yelena looked at Natasha before taking another sip of Nat's coffee, Nat just chuckled, "I don't think they could handle another round" she replied as Wanda walked into the kitchen.
"You three had fun last night" she smiled softly as she placed a rather large handful of polaroid on the table in front of the two Russian sisters. Natasha reached for the small photos and flicked through them while Yelena watched, a smile tugging at both sisters lips as they saw how happy they looked, how much fun they had and how finally they had photos with real moments, real emotions and real love.
"Yeah, one of the best nights" Natasha spoke softly.

Perfect Fit
Pairing: Wanda x Natasha x reader
Word Count: ~2.6K
Summary: Y/N is the new member joining the Avengers that came from a top-secret program in SHIELD that she was in all her life. Now that she has joined the team, she is experiencing life for the first time. She has caught the eye of the two most powerful women on the team.
A/N: I haven't had any requests, so I am posting a story that I am making on my AO3. This will be a series. My request is still open.
Part 2  Part 3  Part 4  Part 5
We all know that there are infinite different universes that are different from one another. This one is the same as the rest. In this universe, the Avengers made the team ten years ago with a group of teenage superheroes. Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Winter Soldier, and Captain Marvel made the original team. Five years later, Spiderman, Black Panther, Yelena, and Kate join the group.
They all live on the Avenger compound, a vast building that houses the Avengers and their every need. Thanks to Tony, the facility is all high-tech and has F.R.I.D.A.Y. It has many bedrooms, bathrooms, a game room, a movie room, a weight room, a training room, a vast kitchen, a pool, a garden, etc.
The team is running smoothly, but SHEILD has a program that they want to test out. The program is called Project Gene X, and it is a program that had eight infants with the mutant gene. When the mutant gene was discovered, SHEILD ensured they were on top of it. They were able to find eight infants that they were able to keep in custody legally. All the kids did growing up was train and discover their powers. Over time, not all of the kids could stay in the program for different reasons, but there were only two in the end.
The two were fighting for the open spot in the Avengers, and Fury finally made a choice. The team knew they would get another teammate soon, but they didn’t know when.
Fury called a meeting with all the Avengers in the conference room at the Avengers compound. Now they are just waiting for Fury to show up.
“So does anyone know what this meeting is for,” Tony says, tapping a pen on the table while looking around the room.
“Maybe we are all going on a huge mission,” Bucky says, shrugging his shoulders.
“Ooo, I hope so because I haven’t been on any mission recently. I need to get out of this compound now,” Sam says, leaning back in the chair.
“Let's hope Fury doesn’t send us on a mission then, so we can all go out tonight. How does that sound?” Carol says.
“I like that idea! I’ll call a few clubs right now to get us on the VIP list,” Tony says, pulling out his phone, and everyone nods.
“I can’t wait to go clubbing!” Peter says excitedly.
“Not you, young fry,” Natasha says, and everyone laughs. At that moment, Fury walks into the room, and everyone goes silent. Everybody's attention goes to Fury, waiting to see what he called the meeting for. “I bet you all are wondering why I called this meeting. Well, I wanted to get you all together so you can meet your new teammate Agent Y/N Y/L/N” Fury says. Y/N comes into the room with black cargo pants held up with, a black utility belt with many pockets, and a black short sleeve shirt. She goes and stands next to Fury with her arms crossed behind her back.
“Agent Y/N was part of a secret project that has been going on for years in SHIELD. Now she has earned a spot on the team with you all. She has the mutant gene and will be a great addition to the team. I won’t give you guys a mission for the next few days, so you all can get to know one another. I hope you all welcome her with open arms,” Fury says, then walks out of the room.
Once Fury closes the door, all eyes are on Y/N. The room was silent, and Y/N didn’t know what was happening.
“So tell us about yourself, Y/N,” Steve says, breaking the awkward silence filling the room. Y/N stood there momentarily, not knowing what to say to them. Since she was a baby, she has been training with little to no social life. Her only friends were the people in the program, but once they left, they never stayed in connect. It was just the way of the program not to have many contacts outside. Y/N never developed her own personality, but she knew one thing.
“I am a homosexual!” Y/N blurt out after a minute of not responding to Steve’s question leaving everyone wondering. Then Y/N says that and shocks everyone. Some people tried to hold back their laughs because they thought it was a joke.
“I am sorry that I said that. Well, I am a homosexual, but you know what I mean. I didn't know how to respond when you asked that question. My whole life was about being in the program, so I don’t know too much about myself,” Y/N says with her arms still crossed behind her back.
“What is this program/project that Fury said that you were in? I have never seen you before or heard of a secret project,” Clint asked curiously about what SHEILD was hiding from everyone. Y/N was hesitant because she was told never to talk about the program unless it was with someone with an equal or greater level than her.
“Yes sir, the project was…..” Y/N started to talk, but Clint stopped her.
“Don’t call me sir. I feel so old when you say that, and I am pretty sure we are the same age,” Clint says while faking like he had a chill.
“No problem, Mr. Barton,” Y/N says.
“No, no, no, just call me Clint. You know all of our names, right?” Clint ask.
“Sorry, Clint, and yes, I know all of your names,” Y/N says, and she can feel her body tighten. Y/N’s mind is going a mile a minute because she worries she is messing everything up.
“Relax, sweetie, you are too tense and thinking too loud,” Wanda says in a calming voice. Y/N looks over at Wanda, nervous.
“You can hear my thoughts?” Y/N says in shock. Y/N knew that Wanda was powerful and could read minds but not like this.
“Yes, I can. I promise I don’t read minds for fun. I can only hear them without trying because you are overthinking right now. Take a deep breath in and out,” Wanda says with a smile. Y/N takes a few deep breaths in and out and finally calms down a bit. She eventually moves her arms from behind her back.
“I am sorry. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time and can’t believe it is happening. Now I am a nervous mess. Anyway, my project was called Project Gene X. I was taken in by SHEILD as an infant because of my mutant gene. Growing up, I was trained to be the best agent while using my powers. Our end goal was to be a part of the Avengers. It was down to one other person and me, and we had to fight for it. I won, and now I am here,” Y/N proudly says.
“Wait for a second! This is crossing way too many lines! So you are telling me that SHIELD pretty much had their red room! I need to talk to him now about this,” Natasha says, getting up from her chair. Wanda gets up and tries to calm down her girlfriend.
“No, Natasha, it wasn’t like that. Every year after we hit age five, we were often asked if we wanted to stay in the program. Most of the kids dropped out by age 14, and only the other person left in the program was me. It sounds like the red room, but it isn’t at all. I had a great time there and enjoyed myself very much,” Y/N says to everyone but most importantly, Natasha. You can see that Natasha is mad right now because her hands are balled up, and her face is as red as a tomato. She looks like she will fight someone, but Wanda is beside her to calm her down. It seems like they are having a conversation with their minds. After a bit, Natasha takes a deep breath and sits back at the table.
“Okay, it is not as bad as the red room, but it is still like it. I will talk with him about it later,” Natasha says.
“Yeah, Project Gene X doesn’t sound too well, but he did the same for us ten years ago, starting the Avengers. We were like, what 13-16-year-olds running around saving the world. What is done is done; let's move on and have a great time with our new team member,” Sam says, trying to lighten to mood.
“Yeah, I agree with Sam! That means we should all go out and have a party!” Tony says, pumping his fist because he wants to attend a club tonight.
“We are supposed to be bonding as a team, and we can’t go to the club because Peter is only 20 years old,” Carol points out to Tony. Tony quietly mimics Carol.
“Or we can have a party here and invite people to come, so no one is excluded. How does that sound?” Kate says.
“Not a bad idea. Now we need to throw the best house party ever! I will make some calls now,” Tony says, getting up and calling someone.
“So let’s get you to settle into here, Y/N. By the way, to formally introduce myself. I am Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, and I am 25. The rich boy over there on the phone is Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, who is 25,” Steve says, and everyone starts to introduce themselves with their real name, superhero name, and age.
“So Y/N, you say you were in the program because you have the mutant gene. What is your power?” Sam asks, and everyone's attention is back on Y/N, wondering what her power is.
“My power is absorption. So any material that I touch, I can turn my whole body into that. That is why I have this belt with different strong materials like vibranium, adamantium, diamond, chromium, and more,” Y/N says while removing her metals from her belt. She puts them all out on the table, then picks up the adamantium. She holds the adamantium in her palm and turns her whole body into adamantium.
Everyone is in awe of Y/N’s powers. She turns back into her usual self and puts her metals back into her belt.
“Now, that’s an extraordinary power that can come in handy. I am happy that you are on the team; now, let’s give you a tour of the facility,” Steve says; he stands up, leading the way to give the tour while everyone else shuffles out of the room except for Natasha and Wanda.
“Wait! Can Nat and I give the tour to Y/N?” Wanda asks. Natasha whispers something into Wanda’s ear to make her laugh. Y/N looks at the pair, confused about why they want to give the tour.
“Of course,” Steve smiles and looks to Y/N, “you will be in good hands. I will catch you later,” Steve says and leaves the room, leaving only Y/N, Natasha, and Wanda staring at each other.
“Are you ready for the tour?” Wanda asks.
“Yes, I am. Let me go and grab my bag” Y/N walk over to the door and picks up one small duffle bag.
“Is that all you have? You know you are moving in here for good, right?” Wanda questions Y/N.
“Yes, this is it. My whole life is in this bag, actually,” Y/N says, a little nervous because she didn’t know that she was supposed to have more than this.
“It’s okay, I understand. Being an agent means you must pack light,” Natasha says to comfort Y/N.
“Thanks, Natasha. Since I will be here for the long run, maybe I can do some shopping for stuff,” Y/N says, and Wanda squeals in excitement.
“Shopping trip!” Wanda says, jumping up and down.
“Dorogoy, maybe we should let Y/N get settled first, then talk about going on a shopping trip,” Natasha says to Wanda, then looks at Y/N, “also you can just call me Nat,” Nat says to Y/N with a soft expression.
“Okay, Nat, and I would love to go shopping. Never been on one before,” Y/N says, smiling at the pair.
“Alright, we will go shopping with you one day, but for now, let’s tour the place and show you to your room,” Nat says, and they take Y/N on a tour of the building showing all the bells and whistles. They end up in front of Y/N’s new room.
“And the last part of our tour is your room. This is great because right across here is our room,” Wanda says, pointing to the door right across.
“You guys share a room?” Y/N looks at them curiously.
“Yes, I would hope so. It would suck that I didn’t share a room with my girlfriend of what….. 7 years now,” Nat says, looking lovingly into Wanda’s eyes. Y/N smiles at the pair and looks at their hands to see two rings. Nat and Wanda notice it.
“They’re just promise rings that we gave each other when we were 18,” Wanda clarifies.
“That’s so sweet,” Y/N says with a bit of disappointment because she did have a crush on Wanda and Nat for the longest time after finding out about them years ago.
“Do you have a girlfriend?” Wanda asks.
“No, I have never been in a relationship with anyone. I have done stuff with people, but those were mission-based, and nothing ever came out of it. The good thing is now I am free and single. Ready to get out there,” Y/N says and starts to laugh, with Wanda and Nat joining her.
“Sorry, that sounded lame saying it out loud,” Y/N says and continues to laugh. Y/N opens her room door and gasps.
“Wow, this room is so big, and I have a queen bed,” Y/N says, running into the room, dropping her bags, then jumps onto her bed.
“And the bed is so soft. I am going to love this place,” Y/N says, getting comfortable in bed while Nat and Wanda watch in awe.
“She is so cute,” Wanda says, and Nat agrees with her.
“So why did you guys want to show me around the place? I am just curious” Y/N sits up in bed, looking at the pair.
“If you want us to be honest here, we wanted to show you around to get to know you and become friends. We are always together, and we need more friends that are women. Yes, we have Kate, Yelena, and Carol, but it is not the same. Yelena is Nat's younger sister, and they get on each other nervous all the time, but it is out of love. Plus, we think Yelena and Kate are secretly dating and not telling anyone. Carol likes to hang out with Sam and Bucky to do dumb shit with. So we saw you and thought we could have a new friend to do stuff with,” Wanda says moving side to side like she is nervous about something.
“Well, I will be an honor to be your friend,” Y/N said, smiling at them and making Nat and Wanda melt.
“Gosh, you are so cute. I think I can say that we are happy to have become friends for the two of us. We will let you get settled here before the party tonight. If you need us, we are across the hallway,” Wanda says and starts to walk out of the room, with Nat closing the door to leave Y/N in her thoughts.
“This is going to be the best time of my life,” Y/N says, sighing and lying in bed.

Summary: you may have been married to the blonde widow since nearly two years now but nobody knew. When your father learnt that he didn't totally act like you except.
Type: generally Fluff but a big Angst part
Warning: mention of blood, car accident and mention of death
word count : 4771 (it's long sorry)
-------
"I'm glad it's finished; I need to take a shower and sleep," Yelena said. She was back from a mission with the Avengers. She joined them four months ago, and to be honest, you were the one who convinced her. You were relieved to know she was not alone, and you were sure your father would protect her even if he didn't know who she was for you.
"Oh, come on, Yelena, it was fun." Natasha said, and her sister glared at her.
"You were not the one who almost got hit by the green giant." She replied, and Bruce looked at the ground.
"Mr. Stark, Y/n just arrived at the compound." Friday said, and everybody looked at Tony.
"Thank you, Friday. Let her know we will lend in 10 minutes." He replied, and when he met the curious faces of the others, he explained, "Guys, be ready to meet someone really important to me."
Now all the Avengers were more curious. Okay, maybe not all, Yelena was not curious; she was happy. It's been two weeks since the last time she saw you. You both have been married for one year and a half now, but nobody knew except three people. Antonia and Selina, two widows who were with you at this moment, and your mom Pepper. You hadn't told your father yet because you hadn't really found the time, and Pepper promised she would let you announce it to him.
Ten minutes later, like promised, they were walking to the living room in the compound. They were greeted by Friday and then by Pepper and Morgan. And when your little sister finally finished hugging everyone, you came back from the kitchen.
"Guys, let me introduce you to one of my favorite people in the world, my older daughter, Y/n Stark." Your father said, and you rolled your eyes at his attitude while everyone was shocked by his revelation.
"Nice to meet you." Steve was the first to come back to his senses. "I'm–"
"Steve Roger, aka Captain America." You cut him off. "To be honest, I know all of you." you said, and you paused your eyes on the two new recruits behind them. "And you two should be the news recruits Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova, right?" You said, and the brunette nodded frantically while the blonde just smiled.
"Why didn't we see you earlier?" Natasha asked, and despite the fact that her sister groaned loudly, you chuckled.
"I was working in San Francisco, with Hope. I think you know her as ‘The Wasp’." you said
"Wait, Scott's girlfriend?" Sam asked, and you nodded.
"And she didn't like to spend her time with her dad anymore." your dad added, and you playfully groaned.
"Oh, come on don't say that, it's just that I don't like the parties, but it's okay now." you said
"You want to come to my new party?" he asked.
"Definitely not. But, I move on in New York." You announced, and he raised his eyebrows, he knew how much you liked to work with the daughter of Hank, she was like your big sister. "I decided to spend more time with my little sister, so I joined Stark Industri." You explained, and he couldn't help but hug you tightly.
"Does that mean I will see you more often?" He asked, and you nodded.
After that, you properly introduced yourself and spent the afternoon with them before you went back to your house. Yelena had to finish her paperwork before she could leave, so when she was working, the rest of the Avengers were in front of the TV, watching a movie, when Kate broke the silence.
"Did you see how Yelena reacted when she saw Y/n?" she asked, and everyone thought for a moment before agreeing. "I think she likes her, but I can be totally wrong." she said.
"Yeah, but Y/n has a ring on her finger." Natasha said.
"Don't worry, it's nothing." Tony said, and everybody looked at him confused. "She just really likes jewels, that's why she always wears rings." he explained.
"Yelena is the same. She always wears rings." Natasha said.
"I think we should let them know each other more." Kate proposed, and everyone nodded.
Two months after you almost spent all your free time in the compound, you were searching for the right moment to talk to your father about you and the Russian, but that was never really the right occasion. If he wasn't too busy with his work, you were working; if you were both free, your wife was busy, and you promised her to wait for her to tell him. But even with that, all the heroes seem to have noticed that you quickly became close to the blonde; they thought it was a good friendship. You both decided to keep your relationship secret until you talked with your father and her sister. Yeah, even the great spy Natasha Romanoff was unaware that her own sister was married.
You were in the kitchen with Natasha and Kate when Yelena came, "Hi Yelena." You greeted her without even looking at her. For everyone, it would be a little weird, but we talk about Yelena Belova, a super train widow, she was very discreet, so it was funny to see the face of the archer when she saw you recognize the footsteps of her friend when she couldn't yet.
"Hi Y/n, were you not supposed to work now?" she asked.
"Yeah, but I had something to finish before." you said, and you finished what you were doing. "Oh, I brought a new toy for Fanny. I left it in my dad's lab." you said before leaving the room.
"See you later!" the blonde shoots at you.
"See you later!" you yelled back.
When you were out of the room, Natasha cleared her throat, and her sister looked at her. "Oh, good morning, Nat, and good morning, Kate. I didn't see you." she said, and now her sister was surprised; it was not the type of Yelena to not greet her first in the morning. Of course she was happy to see her sister was making a new friend, but usually no one came before her. She wanted to say something, but Yelena started to leave the room. "I will train, but before I will pass by the lab." she announced and left.
"Wow, did you see that?" Kate was the first to talk after a moment. "Y/n could tell it was Yelena without even looking; do you think she had a superpower or something like that?" she asked, and the older Russian shook her head.
"No, I don't think so, but it's true; it's weird; even Bucky and Steve can't tell when Yelena walks to them, but the strange thing was that she greeted her, but she totally didn't acknowledge us." she said, and Kate chuckled. "What's so funny?" the older redhead asked.
"You're jealous that your sister didn't say 'hi' to you first." She said and quickly left before Natasha could do anything to her.
In the lab, Tony was working when Yelena came. "Hey little spider, how can I help you?" he asked, and your wife rolled her eyes.
"Y/n, said she brought a new toy for Fanny, and she left it here." She said, and Tony pointed to a bag in a corner of the lab. When Yelena opened it, she found not only the toy but also a new vest you brought her with a card. She smiled at herself and texted you to thank you.
Two days later, she was out on a mission with Tony, Steve, and Natasha, and the redhead noticed the change.
"Oh, it's new," she said, and Yelena followed her gaze and looked at her new vest.
"Oh, yes. Y/n brought it to me when she brought the new toy for Fanny," the blonde explained, and your father frowned his eyebrows.
"I know you are close, but I didn’t think it was her thing to bring a gift for her new friend. I think she really likes you." He said, and Yelena smirked. Of course you like her; more than that, you love her, and you promised to spend the rest of your life with her.
When she returned from her mission, she immediately left the compound and made her way to your shared house. There she found you asleep on the couch with the TV on; she knew you waited for her. She turned off the TV and delicately picked you up to your bedroom; after she placed you under the blanket, she took a shower and slid next to you.
The next month, everyone was almost pissed by the fact that you were both oblivious by the way you looked at each other with heart eyes. But today was the day, Pepper was here with Morgan, your dad should come back from a mission with your wife, and you decided to finally tell him.
On their mission, Tony and Yelena found Antonia and Selina, and the blonde invited them into the compound and afterwards to your house for dinner. During the flyback, they didn't hesitate to tease them about you, and that made Tony laugh even if he didn't know who they were talking about.
"Tony, you should have seen her before," Selina started. "She was a badass widow, and now she's so soft. We call her the ‘soft widow’." she said, and Yelena groaned.
"Oh, why do you have this long face, soft widow? Do you miss your wife?" Antonia asked.
"Wait, wife?" Tony asked, visibly shocked.
"Yeah, the soft widow has had a beautiful wife for nearly two years now." Selina announced, and his jaw dropped. But before he could say anything, the jet lent, and the three women ran out. To be true, Antonia and Selina ran for their lives while Yelena chased them.
You were in the kitchen, and everyone was in the living room, when you heard two familiar voices screaming playfully. When they entered the living room, they quickly hid behind the older widow. "Natasha, help us. Softy Widow wants to kill us." Antonia said, and you sighed.
"Who's Softy Widow?" Natasha was clearly confused, but Yelena quickly appeared in front of her, and the two women screamed like little girls, and that made your little sister laugh. Fortunately for them, you walked from the kitchen at the same moment Tony entered the living room.
"Please Y/n calm your crazy wife." Selina said while she was running to you with Antonia. You let them hide behind you, and everyone vanished when you saw Yelena stop in front of you with her disappointed face.
"детка(babe) I love you, but let me kill them just today." She said, and you chuckled.
"Oh, baby girl, you know you can't kill them," you replied. "And they're our witnesses, you'll not kill our witnesses, right?" You added kissing her nose, and she stopped.
You were in your bubble when Natasha and Tony cleared their throats, but before they could say anything, Kate seemed to want to exteriorize her emotion. "What's the hell?!!" she yelled, and you both looked at her.
You smiled awkwardly and looked at everyone. "Surprise? I think." You said. Natasha was furious, Pepper was scared for you, Morgan was surprisingly happy, and your dad was...not there anymore. Tony left without even getting noticed. When you didn't hear him say anything you knew where he was.
"Yelena, what's the hell?" the redhead asked and her sister was now a little scared too.
The blonde looked at you and squeezed your hand "Go find him I'll handle this," she said and you raised your eyebrows at her "don't worry she'll not kill me, but I'm not sure about you." She added and you kissed her before quickly leaving. Now the young widow was facing the rest of the room.
You were in front of the lab, and the doors were closed, pretty uncommon. "Mr. Stark doesn't want to be disturbed." Friday informed you.
"Oh, come on Friday. I really need to talk to him," you pleaded.
"Sorry, MissStark, but even you can't come." The AI said.
"Friday, we both know I know how to open this door with or without your consent. And we both know I can easily hack you to turn you off. So, please." You said, and the AI didn't say anything for a moment. You were sure if she could, she would sighed, but she finally opened the doors, and you rushed in.
Tony was moving some boxes on the big table, he noticed some footsteps but didn't turn around. "Friday, I thought I was clear when I said I didn't want anyone here." He said.
"Um. I think we need to talk." You said, and he finally turned around to look at you.
"Oh, you want to talk now?" he asked sarcastically.
"Listen, I know we should have told you earlier, but we didn't find the right time."
"Since when?"
"What?"
"Since when you two are-? You know."
"Two years soon."
"TWO YEARS?" He yelled, and you flinched. "You didn't find the right time during those two years?". He asked.
"I know it's long, but we both know we couldn't see each other for the last two years." You said, and you started to walk back and forth in the lab. "I know you are angry, but—."
"No!" He cut you off. "I'm not just angry, Y/n. I'm also sad and shocked. It's been nearly two years since my daughter got married, and I didn't know. And what pisses me off the most is that you were not even the one who told me. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I don't know."
"We were used to telling each other everything. How did something like that happen?"
"I know. I think I was scared."
He sighed, and you stopped to look at him. "Did Natasha know?"
"No, we wanted to talk with the both of you. But Pepper knew."
"Pepper?" He repeated, and he scuffed.
"She's my mom."
"Yes, but I'm your dad too, did you forget that? What happened to the little girl that I raised and always made sure she could tell me everything?" He asked and walked out of the room.
"She just grew up." You replied when he passed beside you, and he left without arguing more. You stayed in the lab for an hour; crying alone, when you heard someone come.
"Hey, Yelena said we could find you here." Antonia said. You wiped away your tears before facing her. The two widows looked at you and your pitiful state. Selina didn't say anything and just hugged you. "We're sorry." Antonia said, and you looked at her.
"Oh, no, it's nothing. I think you helped me in a way." You replied and tried to smile. "You both came tonight?" you asked them, and they nodded.
When you left the lab with your two friends, you saw Natasha. She was on the couch, and when you approached her to say your goodbyes, she didn't even acknowledge you. This night, the girls spent the night trying to cheer you up.
The next day, you went to the tower to pick up some files for work. Kate didn't leave your side; she asked you a lot of questions about you and Yelena. It was cute, and you were happy to finally talk about the woman who owned your heart, but right now you needed to talk to someone. So after the questions about your first meeting, and who asked who, you successfully found a way to escape in your dad's lab.
In there, you were surprised to find Natasha and Pepper talking about something that visibly concerned you because they stopped immediately when they saw you.
"Hey sweetheart. I thought you were already at work." Your mom said.
"Hi mom. Hi Natasha. I will go. I just wanted to talk with dad before." You said.
"He was tired from last night, so he should be sleeping right now." Pepper said, and you nodded.
"Okay, bye. I'll see you next week." You added before leaving.
"She looks desperate," Natasha said when you were out of earshot.
"She always was a daddy girl, she spent all her time with Tony. But he doesn't seem to approve of her relationship with your sister, so I think it's the best condition she could be in, actually." The blonde explained.
"But why didn't she tell him anything?"
"She wanted to, trust me. She just waited for the right time. They had planned to announce to you when they'd find a way to reunite you and Tony with them in privacy. But every time you were the three of you together, it was the time she was in San Francisco, and when she moved here, you were a little hostile towards her because your sister was mesmerized by her wife."
"Do you think I scared her?"
"Oh, don't worry, Natasha; she needs more than a shovel talk from an ex-assassin to be scared. But I think she's worried about not being enough for your sister."
You didn't find your dad, and you needed to leave for San Francisco this afternoon for a week; Yelena was out with Antonia and Selina. When you were ready to leave, you texted your wife and your father, even if you knew he wouldn't reply soon.
Two days later, you were with Hope and Cassie on the couch, talking about all that had happened since you left. "Wait, how did you want him to act when he just learned that her daughter got married to an ex-assassin?" Hope asked, and you rolled your eyes.
"Oh, come on, we all know she's not like that anymore." You said.
"Yeah, Softy Widow is totally different with you." Cassie said, and you looked at her confused.
"How do you know this nickname?" You asked.
"She came for a visit last month with Selina and Antonia, and they didn't stop to call her that." The young girl replied.
"You know she would kill you if you call her that in front of her." You replied playfully.
"Oh, come on, she loves me, I'm her best niece." She said with an amusing tone.
"You're technically her only niece," you said, and she rolled her eyes. "So, let's talk about something else. Like how my little Cassie is becoming a delinquent."
"Oh, come on. It was not bad." The young girl said and you chuckled.
"You miniaturized a police car. It's a little bad, but I'm not Scott, so, I'll let it slide." Hope said.
"You're a pretty bad mom, Hope." You said dramatically, and the girls laughed.
You spent the rest of the day talking and laughing with them, and Scott came a few hours later. You were grateful to see him, even if he was not the smartest of all of you, he was the one who always helped you with your family issues.
"Oh, it's a huge problem." Scott said, and you sighed. "I mean, I don't want to take his side, but honestly, if it were Cassie, I would act the same. Listen, you know how much he likes you, it's just a question of time. Let him process the changes and show him how Yelena could be a Softy Widow." he said, and you laughed.
"You really have a death wish in this family." You replied, and he smiled.
"I'm glad to see you smile. And don't worry, she already almost killed me the last time I called her like that, but she's not here." He said, and you laughed. "I have some ideas if you want me to help you," he added.
You were grateful for the time you spent with them; it was fun to see Scott come up with a few things you could do to make up with Tony. When you left at the end of the week, you were sad, but you promised to come with your wife the next time. When your flight landed in New York, you had already missed your time in San Francisco, but you were glad to see your favorite blonde again.
You texted your dad to let him know you were back, and you weren't surprised when he didn't reply. A little upset, you reached your car and started to drive to your home. The ride was pretty cool, and Friday told you that Yelena was required on an emergency mission. Okay, it was not really how you wanted to be greeted, but you knew how it was to be an avenger.
At a red light, you noticed a car that suspiciously followed you. It was not uncommon for some people to follow you when they knew that you were the daughter of Tony Stark. They usually just wanted a photo or to talk about business. At another red light, you took your phone and texted Pepper to let her know that you should be back a little later than expected. When the light turned green, you drove, but you didn’t see the same car speed up in your direction until it was too late.
On the other side of the state, the Avengers were coming back visibly exhausted by their mission when Friday alerted them:
"Mr. Stark, Mrs. Belova, you have an incoming call from Mrs. Pott."
The Avengers exchanged curious looks.
"Take it." Tony said, and the AI did. "Hey Pepper, how are you?" He asked.
"Good, but I need you and Yelena to come here asap." She replied, and everybody was worried because of the little fear in her tone.
"What's happening?" Your father asked.
"It's Y/n. She got involved in a car crash." She successfully mumbled while she was sobbing.
"Where is she?" Yelena asked, clearly worried.
"In the hospital, I'll send you the address." Your mom said. After she sent them the address, the heroes didn't wait to come.
Pepper was waiting for any information, while everyone burst into the hospital. She fell apart in the arms of your father before she tried to comfort your wife. They didn’t have time to sit until a doctor reached them.
“Mr. Stark, Mrs. Pott, I’m happy to see you. Did any of you know who Mrs. Belova is?” they asked.
“It’s me.” Yelena said, and it brought the attention of everybody.
The doctor nodded and gave her a little comforting smile. They took some steps away from the group before they told them about what happened to you and what they were doing in the operating room. After that, they joined the group, who were as worried as them.
“How is she?” Steve asked first.
“They almost finished the operation, so we need to wait.” Pepper informed them.
“But what happened?” Kate asked this time.
“Someone provoked an intentional accident, and she was obviously the target.” Yelena replied, and the group didn’t ask anything else. “She shouldn’t be here.” the blonde mumbled.
“Hey, it’s okay Yelena nobody couldn’t predict that.” Natasha said.
“No, that’s not what I mean. She shouldn’t have taken this trip to San Francisco if YOU’d decided to act like an adult and talk with her.” she said, pointing to Tony.
“What do you mean?” your father asked, visibly angry at your wife’s accusations.
“You know exactly what I mean. If you had taken the time to talk with her, she wouldn't have booked a flight for Hope’s support. If you’d act like a parent and didn’t use this mission to avoid the conversation, she would never take her car and never get here right now.” She explained. “I joined you because she wanted to make sure I could have somebody if something happened to me, but now, because of that, I couldn’t protect her.” Her tears started to fall on her cheeks.
Kate didn’t wait to lead Yelena to the nearest bathroom, leaving the team totally surprised and speechless. Natasha followed the two girls, but not before sending a terrifying glare at Tony. In the bathroom, Yelena was crying while the archer tried to comfort her, even though she knew it was impossible. A few minutes later, Natasha came with a water bottle.
“Hey, take this.” she said while handing the bottle to her little sister. The blonde took it but didn’t say anything. A few seconds passed before the older sister spoke again, “Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll be alright.”
“I know.” Yelena replied, “But I should be here; I promise to never let anything happen to her. If I didn’t go on this mission, we would be at home right now.”
“If you weren’t there, I could be the one here.” Kate said, and the blonde chuckled.
“You really need to learn how to fight Kate Bishop,” your wife said. She wanted to say something else when she received a text from Hope asking how you were. "Sorry, I need to call Hope.” she said before excusing herself.
A little over an hour later, the doctor came to tell them that the operation was successful, and they transferred you to a private bedroom. And that was where your father and your wife were—only the two of them because the other had plans for the rest of the day.
There was an awkward silence because of the earlier argument. Tony came back after a little trip to the vending machine, and he sat on the second chair near your bed. He took a deep breath, and the woman looked at him. “I’m sorry,” your father said.
“Excuse me?” The Russian asked; she was ready for another argument or sneaky comment, not an apology.
“I’m sorry for how I acted since last week. Hope told me everything you did for her and I thank you for that. I'm truly happy for you, it’s just that we used to tell everything and suddenly I learn that she’s married.” The billionaire said.
“Yeah it’s too much.” The blonde chuckled.
“Yeah that’s it…”
“She wanted to wait for you but somewhere we knew that it may never happen so we did at the moment. But believe me, when I said I never regret this decision. She’s the love of my life, she’s the one who taught me to love properly since the Red Room and just for that I would give her my life even if she’s not ready to do that in return.” Yelena explained.
“We all know that I can give you anything for you, even my life.” You said, and the two of them looked at you. “Hey guys. How are you?” you said with a weak voice.
Tony called a doctor, and only a dew later a nurse and doctor were in your room doing some tests and asked you some questions to be sure everything was alright. They told you what happened and that they will keep you for three more days.  In the evening you were in your bed with Yelena cuddling with you because it’s been a while since you were able to see each other.
“So, with my dad? I hope you didn’t strangle him.” You joked.
“I was about to but I know how much you love him so I had to restrain myself.” she replied and you laughed. “I missed it.” she said softly.
“What?” you asked.
“Your laugh. Your smile. You. I miss you.” she replied, and you grinned.
“It’s only been a week, babe,” you said.
“I know, but it was a really long week. I had to support my sister and all her friends, and the pranks of Selina and Antonia.” she said, and you laughed.
“And what does my little drama queen need me to do to make up for this.” you cooed.
“Don’t do that again.” She replied, and you kissed her forehead.
“Okay, next time, I'll bring you with me." You said but she didn’t seem relieved.
“No, I meant don’t scare me like this, I thought I lost you. We both know I would not be able to live in a world without you.” She said, and with her tone, you were sure she was totally serious.
“Don’t worry, my love, I will always be with you no matter what.” You reassured her. “Now let’s sleep because tomorrow everyone will be here and they’ll not give us enough time to sleep.” you said, and she nodded.
“Good night, moya lyubov' (my love),” she said, and she kissed you.
“Good night, my love.” you replied.

“Well…maybe I’ll save you.”
I’M NOT CRYING, YOU’RE CRYING.
Sorry.
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
That’s not much better, is it.
I just finished The Giggle and I’m sobbing over the fact that 10 finally gets everything he was chasing and I am clearly unwell. I knew this episode was going to break me but I didn’t realize how far they were going to push us over the cliff. Like. You don’t get this in Doctor Who, not ever. That’s almost the appeal of it, sometimes.
But Russell T Davies just ripped out everyone’s heart in the best possible way.  I really can’t.
Blorp. Okay.
The thing is….the thing is - I think everybody needed that. How satisfying must this be for David Tennant? And Catherine Tate? How are they not fit to bursting right now? That was so beautiful, gang. And they must be so proud.
But I’m gonna focus. Also, didn’t I say catharsis? Jesus christ, you can’t get more than that. I’m pretty sure they hit the fucking limit on catharsis. Wow. I’m a mess.
Focusing, though: wherein the Doctor and Donna have to say humanity from their own terrible base instincts because the Toymaker loves a good game.
So we open on Soho in 1925 (which, is anyone else wondering where A.Z. Fell & Co is in relationship to the street they’re showing? No? Just me? Okay cool) and we’re taken into a creepy toy shop where we meet Neil Patrick Harris doing a super weird German accent and being a general creep. He sells a dummy to a man who says he needs it for his boss, who is around the corner working on inventing the concept of television broadcasting for the very first time.
They pop the head off the dummy and leave it in a setup surrounded by a ton of lightbulbs and they go into another room to test it all out - and it works. But the heat from the bulbs is hot, too hot, which is why they needed an object, not an actual person. But of course, the creepy toyseller was obviously up to no good, and as the broadcast continues, the dummy head melts and lets out a terrible little giggle. Clearly, we’re in trouble.
Back in the present, the Doctor and Donna are in the streets of London trying to figure out what’s happening. Some guy argues with 14 who tries to stop him from attacking a car, saying that his taxes pay for the street but he doesn’t drive and he has the right to do whatever he wants with the roadway, thank you. Perfectly sound logic, and the guy is belligerent, saying two days ago everyone in the world decided they were right and wouldn’t listen to reason.  So that’s exciting.
Soon enough, UNIT finds them and they’re told to get Wilf somewhere safe while the Doctor and Donna follow them to headquarters. Where we finally get our eyes on Kate Lethbridge-Stewart who I absolutely love, she’s the “bitches get shit done” Tina Fey gif come to LIFE. Bitch will always be the new black, and that’s Kate, and exactly how she runs UNIT, loading it full of equally brilliant women, including Shirley who we’d met when dealing with The Meep, and Melanie, who was a companion to the 6th Doctor,
Who run the world? GIRLS.
Anyway, we get into explanation mode - two days ago there was a spike in aggression worldwide, the same spike across the board. It’s affecting everyone, even the people in government, but UNIT has a fun device that helps keep everyone wearing one sane. And Kate decides she’s going to demonstrate how fucked up the situation is - she asks them to take her device offline, so they do.
And she proceeds to spew a bunch of terrible things at the Doctor - how he’s an alien with two hearts that have infiltrated them and can’t be trusted, and then she takes shots at poor Shirley who’s in a goddamn wheelchair and it’s really gross to watch, it’s one of the worst parts of humanity and she tries to avoid having her device turned back on, but they finally subdue her. It’s some serious shit, gang.
They say that the spikes aren’t coming from outside, they’re in everyone’s head, except for Donna, and Melanie, who have spent significant time in the TARDIS. And for extra fun, two days ago a satellite went up that finally connected the entirety of the earth to the internet, and now, everyone has access to a screen.
And of course, Donna is working something out about the spike they’ve found, saying that she spent six months teaching Rose how to play the recorder; she thinks it’s a tune. Melanie sings it out and it strikes with everyone, like they’ve known it for years. And then Shirley finds it, it’s not a tune, it’s the laugh from the dummy. The Doctor figures out that the image has been burnt into television itself, into all the screens everyone is attached to every minute of everyday.
As they’re getting the date of the exact transmission, 14 gives Kate permission to shoot the satellite down, even though it’ll start an international incident. He’s the president of the world, and I love that. Her relief is palpable.
He also has a little moment with Melanie, which is so sweet. I love that whenever he rolls up to someone he hasn’t seen in decades, he always mutters the kindest little “hello.” Just for them. His attention completely focused. It must feel like a sun shining directly on you. I literally have a collection of David Tennant saying “hello” in my mind, ugh it’s so something.
During all of this, Kate is telling Donna she did well working out the spikes, and she offers her a job at UNIT once everything has settled. Pure Donna, she asks how much the salary is, and then counters with DOUBLE the amount and 5 weeks paid vacation which is immediately accepted. BAMF, BAMF, BAMF. Get what’s yours, baby girl.
So much going on. Okay, so they go back to 1925, and 14 is all about what they need to do but Donna wants to hear about Mel because he’s never once mentioned her. He never does, he never talks about them. Rose a bit, yes, but usually no. Not ever. And he reminds her he’s old as hell and he can’t just chat about everyone, but it’s more than that. She tells him he never stops moving, she says “You are staggering along. Maybe that's why your old face came back. You're wearing yourself out” and that’s the crux of the matter, friends. 14 is wonderful, we’re all in love with him, but he’s definitely bleeding out everything. All over the place. And it’s so sad to see him so run down. But, classic 10, he ignores her.
They find the toyshop of course, and the Doctor recognizes the Toymaker. Who immediately starts a game of catch with the Doctor, because he’s a fucking weirdo like that, and 14 looks incredibly determined and also freaked out but Donna puts a stop to it, and the Toymaker disappears.
They follow him deeper into the shop and surprise! They find themselves in a never ending hallway full of doors, and each door just leads to another hallway. Which should be impossible, but we’re told that the Toymaker is only governed by the rules of play, so he can basically do whatever the eff he wants.
Donna gets the story out of him as they wander - the Doctor had once gone into another realm, where he played a game against the Toymaker and apparently won, but he said he made a terrible mistake. Poor kiddo is really raw all of a sudden, he says “I'm always so certain. I'm all sonic and TARDIS and Time Lord. Take that away... Take away the toys... what am I? What am I now?” and then he tells Donna, “I don’t know…if I can save your life this time.”
Scrawny little 14 all exposed and helpless and I told you, he’s bleeding all over the place, and she just tells him, “Well…maybe I’ll save you.”
THEY’RE BEST FRIENDS, and she’s definitely gonna save him, just not in the way he thinks. And it’s so good.
Speeding ahead, they keep wandering through the halls and then they get separated of course and Donna gets attacked by the dummy that was supposed to be the original dummy’s wife and his creepy babies but she beats them obviously, and the Doctor gets taunted by the Toymaker but they find each other eventually.
And then they’re pulled into a room with a little stage where the Toymaker puts on a puppet show about exactly what has happened to the Doctor’s companions since he traveled with Donna. And it’s so sad to listen to him try to justify everyone’s fate - Amy died of old age, but in a time and place she was never meant to. Clara was killed by a bird but technically saved in her last moments of life. Bill was turned into a cyberman, but her consciousness lived on. No happy endings, for the Doctor and his friends, not ever.
To stop the show, the Doctor challenges the Toymaker to a game. And Donna’s afraid the Toymaker will cheat, but it seems the rules of the game bind his entire existence: the Doctor will either win or lose. So they cut a deck, and the highest card wins. And it’s the Toymaker, with a king.
But the Doctor finds a loophole - he won the first game, the Toymaker one the second game, and that prompts another, the best of three. Which the Toymaker accepts, but he wants that game to be played back in the present.
Meanwhile at UNIT headquarters they’re shooting down the new satellite, and the Doctor and Donna appear to try and figure out a way to force the Toymaker out of the universe they way he’d come, but it’s too late. 14 is explaining something and then “Spice Up Your Life” is playing, and I’m sorry but L O L at the entire dance scene with NPH that unfolds. It’s hilarious, and creepy, and it definitely goes on too long, but I’ll allow a little pageantry. He turns UNIT’s bullets into flower petals and it’s a little terrifying, how much power he possesses and that’s the point. And then as soon as he’s arrived, he disappears again.
Just kidding though, the Toymaker is out on the platform where the beam they used to take down the satellite is still set up and ready to roll, and he’s got control of it. So everyone of course rushes out to try and stop him.
The Doctor tries to talk him down, of course. He asks why he’s choosing to be so horrible when he can do so many good things, and the Toymaker reminds him he’s just a vastness that good and bad don’t apply to, only winning and losing. The Doctor tells him he’s a vastness that contains so much more, and then he suggests they take the game away from earth, that they can play across the cosmos.
He says “we can be…celestial - and I’m dying inside. Is anyone else wondering what Aziraphale’s reaction to that sentence would have been? So many little bits of Good Omens, it’s slightly painful.
Also, I appreciate that the Doctor is always trying to turn enemies into his playmates. 10 did it with the Master, too. It makes sense, he’s always off with humans but why wouldn’t entities that are more in line with what he is, want to travel with him? They always say no. Because y’all are too obsessed with your own drama to recognize what a fucking opportunity that is. Idiots.
So yeah, that doesn’t work and the Toymaker declares that since he played the first two games with different doctors, he wants to play the final game with the next Doctor. AND HE SHOOTS 14 WITH THE GIANT FUCKING LASER.
It’s agonizing. It’s terrible. And Donna and Mel rush to his side as he starts to regenerate, because they don’t want him to be alone. They tell him he’s not dying, and they don’t care who he is, because every version of him is fantastic. And that’s what he needed to hear the first time. Every time, really.
And then he says “It's time. Here we go again. Allons-y!” (squee!) but…nothing happens. So he asks them to pull, yank on his arms, and they’re like ‘um’ but they do and THEN:
Out pops 15. And I’m losing my fucking mind.
Tumblr media
Here’s the thing, gang. There is one sure fire way to make the new Doctor capture everyone’s heart, and that is apparently to let him interact with 14. Because everything that happens after this is incredible.
15 says “You're me. No, I'm me. I think I'm really, really me. Oh-ho-ho, I am completely me!” and he tells 14 to push, and they’re both like ‘will this work?’ and they’re laughing and they push against each other and they’re two separate entities and it’s amazing.
14 obviously was all done up in his traditional suit (minus the coat) so now suddenly 15 is wearing the dress shirt, and the tie, and their charming little tightie whities, and the CONVERSES! And 14’s still got the pants, the undershirt, the vest, completely barefoot. I’m delighted and crying my eyes out.
Tumblr media
So apparently they’ve bi-generated, which is supposed to be a myth and 15 asks Mel what she thinks and she says “I think you’re beautiful” and 14 pipes up, “still beautiful?!” and it’s all so good but the Toymaker is exasperated and then both Doctor’s say “I challenge you to a game” but he doesn’t like that. He’d caused the bi-generation and he doesn’t want to play both of them but he can’t say no.
What follows is the highest stakes game of catch that has literally ever existed. 14 and 15 are ducking and bobbing and weaving and catching and it’s ridiculous but also so filled with tension; whoever drops the ball, loses. David Tennant is a 50-something year old spindly noodle and oh my god he’s just crushing the entire thing, I could watch this all day.
But someone has to lose, and thank god, eventually it’s the Toymaker. They decide their prize is going to be banishing him from existence forever. He gets folded up into a little square of douchebag, shoved in a box, and left to rot in the deepest recesses of UNIT’s storage.
And it’s wonderful! But 14 can’t help but think of all of the people that died. And here is where 15 worms into everyone’s heart for the rest of eternity: he reminds 14 that he can’t save everyone, and then he grabs him into a hug and he says “Come here. I've got you. Yeah? It's OK. I'm here” and he kisses 14’s forehead.
Tumblr media
It’s what the Doctor has always needed, but never got. A reminder from himself that what he does matters, that he’s good and he tries and it’s okay when things don’t go perfectly, but he does save people. He deserves acceptance from himself, and if he can’t give it in his own mind, he can get it from someone else who is literally him. It’s fucking beautiful.
They head back to the TARDIS and 14 shows 15 all the bells and whistles and 14 wonders how it’s going to work, the two of them? 15 makes him stop his anxious rambling, tells him “you're thin as a pin, love. You're running on fumes.” He keeps talking, about all of the things they’ve seen and done. The Pandorica, The Time War, losing River and Rose. The fact that Sarah Jane has died. 14 says, “I loved her” and 15 says “I loved her.”
15 reminds him that they haven’t stopped, not for a second. But he’s fine, because 14 had fixed himself. He says “We’re doing rehab out of order.” And it’s true; 15 has taken in everything that Donna has been trying to get 14 to understand, he has the sweetness and the willingness to express his feelings that 14 finally learned, and now he’s putting his foot down, to himself. His old self. He’s telling 14 that he has to stop.
But 14 doesn’t know how, and Donna tells him that he just has to exist, every single day, in and out. Over and over. And that’s the adventure. She says “I've worked out what happened. You changed your face... and then you found me. Do you know why?”
“To come home.”
If you didn’t lose it at that, you might need to examine your inner workings. It’s a punch to the gut. And it’s absolutely true. It’s the one thing the Doctor has never had, but now he can. And the way 14 asks “Do you mean…he flies off?” is so sad and small, and deflating, like he can’t imagine being pried away and made to stop and just be and exist. It’s terrifying for him. And he knows he can’t leave the TARDIS, it would hurt.
15 has an idea though, he thinks they might have a little bit of time, still being governed by a state of play, so he produces a sledge hammer and he hops out of the TARDIS, followed by 14 and Donna.
He wields the hammer and he says “You get a prize, honey. And here is mine!” and he SWINGS against the TARDIS, and out pops another perfect little blue police box (and he runs a hand down the first one, saying “I’m sorry!”). Two TARDIS’s, two doctors.
(I’m also swooning over 15’s use of endearments - love, honey - he’s gonna kill me.)
14 goes in to inspect the new TARDIS, he’s reverent almost, and it’s much the same, but it’s got a jukebox. He wanders back to his own TARDIS and 15 hops into the new one and powers her up and he’s definitely about to leave without a goodbye but 14 bounds back in with Donna to get what they’re owed. Which is hugs and a little sass. 15 says “off you pop, old man” and I love that, but they remind him he’s the older of the two now, so he says “Okay, kid. I love you. Get out!”
Tumblr media
15 is full of the love the Doctor never gets to give freely, but he’s ready now, and I’m so excited to watch that unfold. It’s so perfect and beautiful that 14 is the one who gets to feel it first. Baby boy needs so much more, and he’s gonna get it.
And so, off they both go. 15 to his endless adventures, 14 to something even more scary.
The last scene is a dinner at Donna’s, wherein 14 is telling a ridiculous story about using his eyebrows to communicate (Crowley, Crowley, Crowley…) and it’s just banter and it’s so good. We find out that he’s taking Mel on little adventures in the TARDIS, even Rose a time or two. He says “Just can’t turn down my favorite niece” and oh, it’s so lovely. He says “That’s what you are. With my best friend, my brother-in-law, the evil stepmother, and mad auntie Mel.”
The desperate wanderer, a man who has run for thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years in a multitude of faces, finally has a family.
Donna tells him he doesn’t have to stay forever, and then she asks him if he misses it out there. And his face, oh y’all his face as he says “The funny thing is, I fought all those battles for all those years... and now I know what for. This. I've never been so happy in my life”, it’s EVERYTHING.
Never, not once, has the Doctor gotten this. Usually, things work out just enough that it barely soothes the pain of what was lost. Never has he won so fully, so completely. Donna restored, and the chance to finally relish what he’s been protecting for so long. And no one deserved it more than 10 and 14.
The Doctor doesn’t have to be all hard edges and fire and war and unrelenting motion. He can be soft and vulnerable and he can accept help and he can love.
And I didn’t even realize I wanted to see that. Doctor Who is like letting yourself believe in a higher power, a little bit. Believing in a species that maybe isn’t beholden to all of the disgusting emotions we have to deal with, he’s strong when we can’t be. He’s strong all the time. But I don’t think I’ve ever connected as much to an arch as I did to this one. We can’t be strong all the time. No one can.
Watching the Doctor stop, and be taken care of for once, I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding. Catharsis, on all sides. For everyone. I needed all of that way more than I’m ever willing to admit.
No matter what’s going on in the real world, at least now, somewhere out there 14 is hanging out at Donna’s house, telling silly stories and helping cook dinner and teaching Rose a bunch of science she should never get her hands on, and that’s satisfying in a way I can’t explain.
Basically, I’m so thankful for Doctor Who. And I can’t wait to see what happens next…

okay, I think this would finally end the series right?
Could I request Kate and Nina with a reader who is dying in their arms?
This does end the series! We've got all of the creeps with a dying partner now :) I would say I'd do a platonic sibling one for Sally, but quite honestly that's a bit too much angst for even me and I don't think she needs that level of trauma.
Thank you to everyone that sent in requests to get this series written!
Kate:
She can't hear anything. The blood flowing through her body as her heart relentlessly pounds away in fear and confusion overtakes her as all she can hear is her heart hammering away in her ears. She feels as though she's going to pass out, until she feels your hand tenderly grasp her face, her eyes overflowing with tears looking down at you. Her face scrunches up immediately at the look of sheer adoration and love you give her, and she starts wailing out above you as she clutches onto you and holds you tight. Kate has always been the one that gets scared the easiest in the mansion. The dark, crowds of people, loud noises, such common things that most could handle so easily, but she'd always melt into anxiety and fear around them, although her biggest fear over the last few years had changed. It had changed into losing you. Now, here she was, weeping like an infant as she clutched onto your weakening body, living out her biggest fear in real time. She could feel your arms wrapping around her, feel your soothing kisses on her temple, but all she could do was hold you and shake and cry, unsure of what to do or how to help you. Eventually, you calm her down enough to look at you again, and you speak to her, and while she can hear you, her brain is just so foggy it's almost hard to process the things you're saying. 'It'll be okay. You'll make it out of here safe, and you'll come back for me. I want you to be happy, for both of us. I love you.' She shakes her head in denial as she presses emotional kisses to your lips, clinging onto you as you cling to her too. When your grip goes weaker and your lips pressing into hers get less force, she just holds you, rocking back and forth as she tells you how much she loves you and how much she'll miss you. She tries to stay calm now for you, but once that small, broken smile blooms on your lips and your last breath pushes out, that's all she needs to break down in screams again. She doesn't care if someone hears or sees her, she doesn't care about anything anymore. What is there to care about, when the one single shining light in her life has now been extinguished?
Nina:
Everybody knew Nina was capable. She had risen to the top of Zalgo's ranks within a couple of years of being hired by him, proving herself to be a determined leader, one that cared for her fellow teammates and always looked out for them, one that was incredibly skilled and efficient in all of her missions, one that never left anybody behind. That's why, with all of her might, she tries. She tries to carry you, with her own incredibly bruised and battered body, to carry you home. If she wasn't injured she could do it, she tells herself, so she has to force herself to do it now, however, despite her best efforts, she collapses once more, turning to cradle your body so it's her that hits the ground and not you. She's tired. There were more enemies than expected, and the two of you had been taken by surprise. She tried her best to stay close to you, but in a moment of distraction and a shift of focus, you'd taken a deadly blow to the abdomen, one that sent her into a rage as she took out all remaining targets. She had checked on you afterward, and despite trying to hold out hope, she knew the two of you wouldn't make it home, at least not both alive. She had tried to contact someone for help, for backup, but without realizing it her communicator had been broken at some point in the battle. She had been so focused on you that she hadn't even noticed her tears, her sobs, her choked breaths shaking her body, her weakness, she hadn't noticed it until she heard your voice telling her it would be okay. Nina was known for being the happy one, but beneath that happiness was a bitter, unending sadness. She had her family taken from her, and now she was losing you, the most important thing in her life. How cruel. She could tell your end was coming, so she got you both comfortable, and she just held you. You both confessed your final feelings, reminisced about your relationship and your would-have-been future, you cried, you kissed, you held each other, and then... Nina was left alone, all by herself, to cry and mourn another heavy loss, all over again.

Hey!
I have a Matt Casey request for you.
What if Casey was together with Kelly severide’s little sister who also is the PIC for ambo 61 and her partner on ambo is Gabby Dawson.
Y/n and Casey have decided that they want to adopt Louie and they are trying to do this, but it is hard when they are basically just dating and they aren’t married or even engaged.
After the celebration of 100 years anniversary at Molly’s, Casey and y/n decides to get married at the courthouse and of course everyone from the firehouse are at the courthouse to see everything and even Benny Severide is there to see his daughter getting married.
A few moments between y/n, Severide and Louie.
Moment between y/n, Severide and Benny.
Moments between Louie and Casey.
And moments between Casey, y/n and louie.
Something that’s based on season 5 episode 8
Matt Casey- Courthouse
Tumblr media
How are we at Mollys celebrating 100 years of Mollys, well the bar. I hold my boyfriend, Matt, hand while standing next to my older brother Kelly. He's the reason I became a PIC for ambo 61 and the reason I met Matt. That's was a few years ago. I'm also holding on to the little boy I saved on my hip named Louis. We've both fallen in love with this little chap and so are currently fostering him, with the intent to adopt but it's looking to be a challenge because Matt and I aren't married or even engaged. I would be seen as a single mom.
"Ok" Herrmann grabs all of our attention as he stands on a chair "everybody, uh listen. 100 of anything is impressive but uh, 100 years for a bar that is down right magical. Back then there was no television, radio..."
"Well if we want to be specific radios we're actually invented in 1895 making them over a hundred years old"
"Who invited the history nerd" Hermann points at me making us all laugh
"Sorry. Continue" I tell him
"There was just neighbourhood with hard working people who needed a place filled with family"
"As long as Capone wasn't around" Mouch comments
"That's what this building is about" Herrmann continues "this place was built on Chicago soil and the original soil was rough and bloody, but Mollys, Mollys foundation is built on love" I can already feel tears starting the threaten "I don't care if that's corny. But it's built on love and you can feel it every time you walk in here. So heres to the next 100"
"Let's get married"
"What?" I frown looking at Matt
"Let's get married. Right now"
"Let's go" I smile feeling giddy
"Come here bud" Matt takes Louis from my arms and kisses his forehead
"Where are you guys going?" Herrmann stops us before we leave
"We're going to get married" Matt replies
"What? Guys they're finally getting married!" Herrmann shouts at the top of his lungs
"Not without us" Sylvie
When we all arrive at the courthouse I see mine and Kelly's dad and also our half sister Kate. I frown looking at Kelly confused
"What's dad doing here?" I ask
"I called him and Kate. Thought he'd want to see at least one of his kids get married" Kelly says "and well I know you and Kate talk all the time so"
"Thank you Kell"
"Let's do this!" dad yells clapping his hands. Kelly picks Louis up
"Hey little man. Ready to watch mommy and daddy get married?" he asks Louis who claps nodding his head. I take our dads arm while Kelly stands at the front with Matt
"We don't really need to do this do we? It's not like it's a proper wedding"
"Hey this is a proper wedding. It's your wedding" dad says. He walks me to Matt who takes my hands in his "you look after her"
"I will don't worry"
"Because if he doesn't he'll have me to deal with" Kelly says making all of us laugh.
The minister does his thing, we say our I do's and then we're pronounced husband and wife. We all head back to Mollys to celebrate. I watch as Louis is dancing with Matt
"So, that's going to be my grandson then?"
"Yeah" I give dad a smile "well as long as the adoption papers go through. We're doing them first thing in the morning"
"They'll got through promise" Kelly gives me a nudge "how couldn't they. Louis is so loved and safe with you and Matt. Hell Louis has the whole of the firehouse, PD and Med that will look after him"
"I'm proud of you YN. Both of you" wow dad actually is being super nice. Maybe weddings really do bring people together
"Mommy, dance" Louis says holding his hands out to me. I get up from my seat and join him and Matt dancing together
"You know we love you Louis, we both love you so much" Matt says hugging both of us.
The next day Matt and I walk into the firehouse with Louis holding both our hands
"You two going on a honeymoon?"
"No they are not. We all know what happened on a honeymoon" Kelly responds to mouch
"Shut up" I roll my eyes at my brother "Louis let's go and get some breakfast" I pick him up and take him to the kitchen, sitting him down on a chair
"Cheerios again?" Kelly walks in ruffling Louis hair
"He loves them"
"So when do you find out if you've got Louis?"
"In a week or so" I place the cereal in front of Louis and sit next to him. Kelly sits the other side
"You are going to be one loved and luckily boy" Kelly says to Louis "I've always got yours, your moms and dads back. That's a promise"

Hello! If you’re still taking requests, could I request a “3+1” kind of fic with Eddie where it’s the 3 times he tries to woo/impress his crush and the 1 time he succeeds?
Purple Rain
Eddie's flair for the dramatic doesn't bode well when he tries to impress his crush.
Warnings: language, reference to sex but no smut, Jason Carver being a bully
WC: 2.2k
A/N: This is just basically all fluff with a little bit of angst. But there's a happy ending, don't worry! Thank you for the request <3
--
The First Time
If Eddie's going to graduate this year, he has to actually show up for classes. It's 7:30 AM, but it might as well be the crack of dawn. He has English first period and sluggishly meanders down the hall into the classroom.
"How nice of you to join us today, Mr. Munson," Ms. O'Donnell says with a smirk as Eddie slumps down into his seat. He hears a snicker behind him and swivels around to see you covering your mouth, as if you surprised yourself with your own reaction.
"Something funny?" he whispers. You shake your head, willing a serious expression.
"Okay, folks," O'Donnell announces, "you're going to work with a partner to discuss the symbolism behind the eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg from The Great Gatsby."
Before you get a chance to scan the classroom, Eddie plops his book on your desk with a grin. "Hi, partner." He looks at the concert tee you're wearing and points. "Prince fan, huh? Very original."
You exhale and groan inwardly. "Just start," you order, fully expecting him to come up with a bullshit answer.
But Eddie's prepared; not just for class, but to work with you. You always know all the answers, seemingly before O'Donnell even poses the question. Your ex-boyfriend was the valedictorian last year, and he knew he had to step up his game to impress you.
"Wait, I took notes on this," he says, tongue poking out between his lips as he flips through his worn spiral notebook. "A-ha! Here it is." He clears his throat and begins speaking in an exaggerated drawl. "The eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg are like the eyes of God, watching over the characters." He looks up at you proudly.
"Mhm," you agree, taking out a pencil and jotting down his answer. You see his confident smile falter. "What?"
"N-nothing," he mutters, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Did you expect a whole celebration for actually doing your homework?" you laugh, kind of meanly. You feel bad until you remember the last project where he was your partner. "Partner" was too strong of a word, considering you ended up doing the whole thing alone.
"Wouldn't kill you to say 'good job,'" Eddie mumbles, but you roll your eyes and keep writing.
The Second Time
A few days later, you're munching on a peanut butter sandwich and enjoying a conversation with some of your friends from drama club. The cafeteria is buzzing with excitement about the winter formal tonight, but you're not going. College isn't going to pay for itself, so you've picked up an extra shift at work
"I can't believe you're missing the dance," your friend Kate whines, pouting. "It's our senior year!"
"Just call out from work," agrees Jen, popping a potato chip into her mouth. "'S not like they'll fire their star employee."
You sigh. "Even if I wanted to, I don't have a dress, or shoes, or a date."
"What a surprise--the loser doesn't have a date." You cringe as you hear Jason Carver walking past you with his group of basketball cronies. They're all laughing and high-fiving like he said the funniest thing ever.
You want to shrink into the bench, but Jason only raises his voice.
"C'mon, sweetheart, don't be shy," he taunts. "HEY, EVERYBODY! WHO WANTS TO TAKE HAWKINS HIGH'S NUMBER ONE THEATER NERD TO THE WINTER FORMAL?" he yells, a shit-eating grin spreading across his face.
"Jason, just stop," you croak, but he either doesn't hear you or simply doesn't care. Your eyes could bore a hole into the ground when you hear the jock mutter, "oh, what the..."
You lift your gaze to see Eddie Munson walk over. Burying your head in your hands, you just pray that you evaporate.
"Hey, fuckface," Eddie snarls, "leave her alone."
Jason snorts. "Look, it's one freak defending another. A match made in loser heaven." He crosses his arms and takes a step towards Eddie, raising his voice. "You gonna take her to the dance tonight, Munson? Maybe bring her back to your dirty little trailer and take her virginity?"
The last thing you want is more eyes on you, but it seems like Eddie doesn't get memo. He stands up on the table and cups his hands around his mouth. "ATTENTION HAWKINS HIGH FACULTY AND STUDENTS! JASON CARVER HAS A TINY LITTLE PENIS AND HAS TO TAKE OUT HIS AGGRESSION ON INNOCENT WOMEN!" He looks down at you, hoping to get your approval, but you've already dashed out of the room and head for the library, leaving your lunch half-eaten. He packs it back up into the brown paper bag and sets off to find you.
The Third Time
You're at your locker, ready to swap out your math books for history, when you feel a tap on your shoulder. You see long, curly hair out of the corner of your eye. While you can't say that you're excited to see Eddie, you're relieved that it's not Jason.
"Hey," he says with a small smile, "you, uh, you're a waitress, right?"
"Yup. I work at Benny's," you reply, closing your locker and turning the dial.
"Are you working tonight?"
You shake your head. "Nope, I'm off."
He exhales softly. "Could I ask you for a favor?" He doesn't wait for your response before plunging in, "My band plays The Hideout tonight, but two of the waitstaff called out sick. The manager is gonna close tonight and cancel our gig if he can't find someone."
You look up at him, noting a hopeful gleam in his eyes. You could use the money, so you nod. "What time?"
He beams at you, and you notice how warm his smile is. "Um, he would need you there at 8. The shift would end at midnight, but I can convince him to let you out early, after our set."
"Yeah, sounds good."
"Cool," he shoves his hands in his pockets. "I can pick you up at 7:30, if you want."
"It's okay; I have a car." You refuse to climb into his deathtrap of a van that you can hear rumbling down the street from a mile away.
"Oh, yeah, right," he says sheepishly, blushing, "then I'll see you there."
~
The Hideout is a hole-in-the-wall dive bar. As you as you enter, you feel the stickiness of old spilled beer tack onto your shoes. The manager is a middle-aged, stout balding man named Cal.
"All right, girly, just take the orders and smile. Maybe show a little cleavage. Y'get bigger tips," Cal instructs. You roll your eyes as he walks away.
Eddie's band, Corroded Coffin, is setting up onstage. It's basically just the Hellfire Club, plus instruments and sans freshmen. You listen to them warm up as you serve watered-down drinks to creepy old men who watch you intently as you walk away. Eddie's keeping an eye on you the whole time, making sure no one tries anything.
When the show begins, you have to admit that Eddie's stage presence is electrifying. He makes playing guitar look easy, though you're sure he spends nearly every waking moment practicing. You offer him a small smile, and he returns it with a wink.
After an hour, they're wrapping up when Eddie takes the mic. "Gonna switch things up a bit here; do a song we haven't performed before. So, uh, take it easy on us." You raise your eyebrows quizzically and he makes direct eye contact with you while playing a familiar tune.
"I never meant to cause you any sorrow I never meant to cause you any pain I only wanted one time to see you laughing I only wanted to see you Laughing in the purple rain"
His voice is sultry, sending chills down your spine. You forget that you're technically on the clock, setting your tray down on the bar and allowing the music to envelop you. That's when you see another waitress walk by, serving a greasy plate of nachos to a wasted customer. And you realize the real reason Eddie wanted you here.
You listen to the rest of the song with a gigantic smile on your face. The other waitress is also watching, practically eye-fucking Eddie. She bounds over to the makeshift stage as soon as their set is over, running a polishing fingernail down his exposed chest and hooking a finger into his belt loop. You tear your eyes away immediately, tears forming in your eyes. How could you be so stupid? Why would Eddie Munson go for you when he has hot groupie waitresses at his beck and call?
You speed-walk over to Cal. "I'm, um, not feeling great," you mumble, and when he cocks an eyebrow, you pull out your secret weapon: "That time of the month." He squirms uncomfortably, which was your goal.
"All right, let me pay you and tip you out," he says, opening the register.
You shake your head. "I'll come back tomorrow," you promise, and push open the door to the parking lot, deeply breathing in the cold winter air.
Eddie, meanwhile, is trying to politely get away from the flirtatious waitress while keeping an eye on you. It seems like he just looks away for a second before you're gone.
"Fuck," he hisses under his breath.
The Fourth Time
You've been going out of your way to avoid talking to Eddie. You even moved your seat in O'Donnell's class, which you played off by telling her you needed to sit closer to the board to see better. To invite you to watch him play one of your favorite songs and then flirt with someone else in front of you? Your heart pangs every time you think about it.
Eddie's all but given up on impressing you. He doesn't understand why you wouldn't hear him out, let him explain that there was nothing going on between him and the waitress. His friends see the change in his demeanor; he's quiet and sullen while he eats his lunch.
"I just don't know what else I can do!" he laments. "I confront Jason for her in front of the whole damn school, I serenade her at my show..." He throws his hands up in defeat.
"Dude," Lucas Sinclair pipes up from his seat, "have you actually tried doing something for her that's, I don't know, not a public spectacle?"
Dustin Henderson nods. "Yeah, I mean, everything doesn't have to be a production. Just...tell her how you feel. Privately," he emphasizes.
Eddie's eyes widen, a plan formulating in his head. "Who has paper and a pen? C'mon, one of you little sheep has to!"
~
A carefully folded slip of paper falls to the ground when you open your locker after lunch. You open it and read:
Meet me in the drama/Hellfire room right after school. Just you + me, I promise. -E
Your stomach flips. What could he possibly have to say to you? You stuff the note into your pocket; you have three more classes to make up your mind. Hopefully you can figure it out by then.
~
Eddie's already waiting for you when you walk in the room. It's chilly, and you pull your arms to your chest as you make your way towards him.
"You came," he says, smiling softly. It melts your icy exterior enough for you to drop your hands to your sides.
"I did," you confirm. "What did you want to talk about? Your hook-up with that waitress after the show?" It comes out snarkier than you intended, but you can't take it back now.
For the second time today, Eddie is caught off-guard. "Hook-up with...is that why you've been acting like I'm invisible? Because you think I slept with..." He pushes his hair out of his eyes. "No, I definitely didn't get with her."
A sour taste fills your mouth. "Oh," you manage, feeling both stupid and relieved. "I-I'm sorry. I thought..."
"Did you really think I'd invite you to watch me sing a song I learned just for you and then have sex with some waitress that I barely know?" He laughs gently. "Geez, sweetheart, I'd hoped you thought more of me."
He paces as he talks to you. "The real reason is not because I'm some slimy douchebag, contrary to your opinion," his eyes narrow, but they're still playful, "but because I wanted to impress you."
It's your turn to be stunned. "Why?" you ask dumbly, garnering another chuckle from Eddie.
"Why?" he echoes. "Because you're smart, and sweet, and cute, and call me out on my bullshit, and I wanted to take you on a date."
"You could've just asked me, y'know," you say, toying with the hem of your jacket. "Didn't have to go to all those lengths. You made me work on my day off!" you tease, poking his chest with your finger.
Eddie shrugs. "Okay. Do you want to go on a date with me this Friday? Nothing crazy. Just the two of us, dinner at Enzo's, actually getting to talk to each other?"
You look up at him and smile. "Looks like you finally figured me out. Color me impressed, Munson."

I haven’t read Return of the Living Dad very much, largely because I forgot it was by Kate Orman, and it’s very fun rereading it, and one of the sideplots is fascinating me at the moment because Seven has got himself into one of those brief intense not-quite-romantic attachments to lonely middle-aged women that are usually Six’s thing. He’s so inscrutable about it. Bless his little cotton socks.

CHAPTER 3
“Can I help you?”
Soft and soothing, that's the way you would describe her voice if anyone would ask, but nobody did, so let's move on. You try to find anything to say that would take you out of this “deer caught in the headlights” moment, not daring to take more time to let the silence linger. You straighten out your posture trying to physically take up more space, trying to show any ounce of confidence in this really not confidence allowing, environment that your day created for you.
“Actually yes. Would you like to talk about our lord and saviour Jesus Christ? The one and only, who can save us from the pits of hell that humanity is running into with this whole LGBT propaganda, women trying to have rights, not being chained to the kitchen madness.” She looks confused which gives you the upper hand, at least that's what you think until she gives you this cocky but proud smile which catches you off guard, and now you are the confused one.
“You must be y/n. It's really nice to meet you. I’ve been looking forward to it.” She takes a step back to let you into your own apartment and sticks her hand out towards you to get an actual greeting. You go in and take off your shoes, only using your heel and toes for it. You don't put the bags down, and you don't engage in the physical contact that the redhead is waiting for. You look up at her, and you appreciate the much better lighting than the one in the café, because right now you can actually see the depth in the colour of her eyes. You’ve never seen eyes like that, and it's deeply interesting. As much as you want to go into this, inside of your head, on an intellectual journey about why people have different eye colours and if their lifestyle can change the outcome of that colour. But it’s not the space or time for that, so you force yourself back into the present, to the woman standing with her hand outstretched.
“Yeah it's me. And all day I was looking forward to getting a shower, so excuse me.” You don't even give her a chance to respond as you move swiftly around her and disappear deeper into the apartment, quickly walking into your room. You feel a little bit awkward and embarrassed, but your priority is your mental state right now, and you need to wash the day off of your body.
After putting everything in place and taking a shower which took you around 30 minutes, because you are not trying to get Darcy mad, she is terrifying when she is mad, you pull some outfit together and go to the living room where you hear everybody chatting. Classic loose mom jeans and a sentimental flannel fit you nicely, not showing too much of your skin, but still not making you a nun.
As you walk in, you throw a loud “hi guys,” in the direction of the sitting area, and go straight to the kitchen which is connected to the living room by the island. Maria immediately stands up to hug you, and she’s never too shy to show care through physical touch. It makes a lot of sense since it's her love language.
You hug her back with just as much force as she does, and as she is going back to where she was sitting, you take a non-alcoholic cold beer out of the fridge.
“We have wine if you are interested.”  This voice is also new to you, but this one is a little bit deeper. It's flowing through the room and if you wouldn't have any control over yourself, like your flatmates, you would probably have goosebumps all over your body.
“She doesn't drink, this bitch is in the sober club.” Darcy answers for you, clearly a little bit pissed that you didn't say hi before the shower, but you hear the little hint of teasing in her voice.
“That's interesting. Why?” Another new voice makes you turn around and lean on the kitchen island. Just then, you take in the whole picture in front of you. The biggest couch is occupied by Carol and Darcy sitting between her legs. Carol's hand is intertwined with your friend's and as much as you will never admit it, the lovesick look on your friend's face is making you really happy and glad that she found someone like Carol. In the big chair on your right there is a new figure, a really elegant woman you have never met before, but in some way her face is familiar. Her strawberry blonde hair is put into a tight ponytail, and it makes her features look really sharp. Her business outfit brings out the seriousness in her, but a fancy, colourful drink with a big piece of grapefruit levels it out to a neutral position. She has a hard demeanour with a really warm, friendly smile. You are aware that on the left side of the room, on a smaller couch, sits Maria with the two women you recognize from the café. Without making direct eye contact with them, in the corner of your eye you can say that your flatmate is throwing herself at them, which they don't seem to mind. The woman that greeted you at the door is on her left with her hand in Maria's hair, the woman on her right is less shy, freely grabbing her exposed thigh. You are pretty sure that they both are looking straight at you, but you are putting your attention to answer the question. You hop smoothly onto the kitchen counter and lean back for the beer glass. Taking a long sip, you think of an answer while looking at the woman in the chair.
“What’s interesting is the fact that people always ask why I don’t drink. I mean, if I were to tell you that I don't eat carrots nobody would question it, but as soon as it's about the alcohol people ask why. Social constructs, I guess. But about why, I was diagnosed with ADHD at the beginning of the year.” You casually explain.
“And you can’t drink while you take your medication?” The same deep voice turns your attention to the left. They seem to be really interested in what you're saying. Their focus on you is razor sharp.
“I can and I did. I mean, you probably shouldn’t and my psychiatrist doesn't recommend it, even if I didn't have any bad reactions to drinking. It was a good enough excuse for me to stop. I don't enjoy getting drunk either way, and since I'm always sober, I can at least be the DD.” She seems confused, but Carol makes sure to fill her in as soon as you are done talking.
“Designated driver. One person always agrees to not drink, so everybody can get home safely.” Redhead nods in acknowledgement, and Carol lets go of Darcy to allow her to stand up to refill their drinks.
“Did you bring the whisky?” It's Darcy's favourite kind and the only thing she orders while visiting you at work. You have to admit that it's a really nice 12-year-old blended, scotch whisky, and the only thing you miss since you stopped drinking. Without answering her, you jump off the counter and leave the living room to grab two bottles from your room. As you bring them back, she already prepared glasses for everybody to try. While she fills them up, she starts speaking.
“Y/n this is Pepper, Pepper Stark. She is the CEO of Stark tech company. She is also in the middle of writing an incredible book.” She introduces you as she hands the drink to the woman on the chair. Her name gives you an idea of why she seems familiar. Tony Stark teaches at your ex's university. You heard so much about him that you feel like you were attending his course yourself. Cold but creative, a leader but a dickhead, the list goes on and on. Adding up all you know from Shuri and other students, you can assume why she divorced this talented bastard. The news made it out to be a massive deal when she overtook his company. But Stark tech has never been better than under her leadership.
“Nice to meet you, y/n.”
“Likewise.” You nod at her from a distance. You have a lot of respect for powerful, successful women.
“This is Natasha and this is Wanda.” They don't bother standing up, so you don't move from your position waiting for Darcy to give you more information.
“They are the co-owners of a law company. Wanda is an amazing lawyer with a Smith Award and Natasha is a CFP designated financial adviser.” You nod at them, completely unamused.
“That's impressive.” It’s not. “ Nice to meet you both, I’m y/n.”
“I think we already know each other, sugar.” Natasha says, and you can't help but be curious about where she finds the audacity. Her eyes are fixated on you while her hand stays on Maria’s thigh, but travels a little bit higher. You can't help but watch and think to yourself…. What the fuck. This whole situation is rather weird, but your roommate definitely enjoys the attention. You on the other hand feel like they both are trying to dominate you, and you are about to put it to stop, but before you can say anything, Wanda is already speaking.
“We hope you enjoyed your cold brew. I bet it felt nice to not have to pay for your own coffee for once.” You don't even need a second to think. You grab your wallet from your back pocket, take out a 20 dollar bill and put it on the coffee table in front of Wanda, all without taking your eyes off of her.
''You can keep the change.” This definitely pulls a reaction out of your friends. They know how much you work and how much you are struggling with finances. Trying to earn money to publish your poetry and to stop worrying about staying afloat every single month. You return to your place next to the kitchen island, not paying attention to Wanda’s or Natasha’s reaction.
''y/n that’s not what she-'' Darcy starts speaking but is soon cut off by Wanda defending her motive.
''That's not what I meant, baby.” Honestly, what is it with strangers and pet names? They see you for the first time and definitely feel too comfortable with their approach.
“With all due respect, I went there just to support my friend, to watch over her in case it turns out that both of you are some creepy, thirsty, questionable individuals. I didn’t ask you to pay for it.''
“They were trying to be nice, y/n. That's it. Calm down.” Maria tries to settle you down, feeling uneasy in this situation.
“Well in that case I really appreciate it. Please don’t do it ever again, thank you.” This situation is straight out of some Bruce Wayne shit.
“Y/n! Are you okay?” The room went weirdly silent. Yes, you got a little bit heated, but you weren't even yelling or arguing.
“Yeah. Why?” Darcy is on her feet immediately, same as Wanda. That confuses you even more.
“You’re bleeding.” The redhead stands right in front of you with those green big eyes and all you think about is getting out of her reach. Just then, you look down, and your beer is stained red. Your hand travels immediately to your nose, finding out that you have a full on nose bleed.
“Shit. Yeah, I'm okay just, shit… just give me a second.” You say quickly and if the whole attention wasn’t on you, people would’ve miss what you said. Someone goes after you, you can feel the presence behind you.
“Fuck.” Just as you see yourself in the mirror, you get an idea of why their reaction was as big. Blood is literally dripping from your nose, it's not a light one either. As you lean above the sink trying to use cold water to minimize the damage, you hear the voice behind you.
“Let me help. You have to-”
“No, thanks, I got this.” Wanda won't let go that easily.
“Baby, I'm just trying-”
“Do you use nicknames on all strangers you meet?” You can't help but bite back, it makes you feel uncomfortable. She ignores your question and tries to move your flannel out of the back of your neck. You jump at her touch, not in a good way. Her hand is cold from the drink she was holding, and she is too close to you.
“I don’t need your help.” Your hand is red, half of the sink stained, and the blood doesn't seem to stop coming any time soon. Before she can try to make a move one more time, the bathroom door opens with force.
“Sit your ass down, and pinch your nose right above your nostrils.” Darcy is stern in her voice and right when you think about telling her off she continues.
“I'm not going to tell you twice. Sit your ass down, or I'm going to yell for Carol, and she is going to make you.” You look at her in the mirror in front of you. She stands tall, arms crossed at her chest, while she is holding something green in one hand. Wanda is still in the bathroom with both of you, she looks surprisingly concerned about this whole situation. Darcy is not backing down and for your own sake you are sitting down on the toilet cover.
“Always so fucking stubborn. Hold this.” A bag of frozen peas lands on the back of your neck, almost making you jump.
“I got this.” Wanda chimes in and as you are about to argue, Darcy's look makes you stop. Coldness travels down your spine and your head feels light because of the blood loss. It happens often, but not as bad as this one. Your friend leaves, and as you are left with Wanda, all you want is to avoid unnecessary conversations.
“Does it happen often?” Seems like you can't avoid it.
“No.”
“Darcy says it does.”
“Then why do you ask?” For just a second she looks sad, and you realize that you act a little bitchy.
“Sorry, it's just annoying.”
“It's okay, thank you for apologizing. Your friends say that you overwork yourself a lot. Is that the reason it's happening?”
“No. No, it's not.”
“Then what is it? Her concern seems fake, or needed as a social expectation of the situation. You don't know why, but it makes you feel sick, or maybe it's the headache that's coming.
“Cocaine.” By her expression you can see that she is shocked but tries to be as casual about it as she can.
“She’s kidding.” Darcy is no fun. She returns to your side and kneels in front of you, taking your head into her hands. As she makes sure you are okay, she tells Wanda to take off the bag, and you are surprised when you feel her drying your skin with a towel, after the ice melted.
“Go lie down. And no working y/n. No essays, no school, no working. I mean it.” You laugh at her and thank both of them for help. After cleaning yourself up, you don't bother going to the living room anymore, and you disappear in your sheets.
You wake up some time later with a full on headache. Naps are the worst thing that can happen. You never felt good after taking one. You put on a jumper and take a look at the time. It's dark outside and the clock shows 1am. You couldn't be more grateful for that. If that was 4am, you probably wouldn't go to sleep anymore. Since it's relatively early, you can still catch a couple of hours of sleep. Priority now is taking care of your headache.
The apartment is really quiet. As you move smoothly through the hall, you pay attention to the shoes mess at the entrance. Pepper is not here, but it seems as though Carol and two redheads are still in your apartment. Also, Kate still isn't back. Her room is open and as much as you would love to spare her the pain of the conversation that awaits, it's killing you that she still isn't aware of what happened. Even the worst of the truths is better than lying.
It’s dark, soft light comes from your bedroom behind you and the living room in front of you. Darcy's doors are closed, which means that Carol is probably staying the night, it's not unusual. You just don't understand why they would stay here when they have like five other houses to choose from. You are surprised to see the living room occupied. On one of the stools, you can see Wanda finishing up a glass of red wine. Her lips are a little bit stained because of it, and the soft light coming from the candle brightens up her face, bringing out all the features. Her jaw looks really sharp, and you can't help but think that rich people definitely put too much money into fixing up unimportant things about them. It would be amazing if that kind of operation would work on personalities too. As soon as she sees you, she puts down her glass and straightens her posture, probably trying to dominate you. It's too late for that, and you are too tired to play her game, so you don't acknowledge her presence.
“How are you feeling, y/n?” She asks as you enter the kitchen to fish inside the cabinet for your favourite tea and your mug. You stay silent, trying to pretend that you didn't hear her worried voice, flowing through the empty kitchen.
“Y/n?” She tries again, her voice is softer now as you are about to run away. She thinks you are weak. At least that's what you are telling yourself.
“I feel thirsty.” You search the inside of the cabinet trying to navigate through a million types of cups, mugs and glasses, thinking why do you need so many. You hear her subtle laughter, and god nobody made you that confused with their reactions, confused and annoyed. You swear under your breath, not finding your favourite green mug in the place it should be. The dishwasher is open and empty, and all you can think of is searching the house to find your comfort object. It's a gift from your brother, and everybody knows not to touch it, so who in the hell would-  it's like a lightbulb being turned on above your head. You turn around with so much power, scanning the surroundings in front of you. You spot your mug standing next to Wanda, and she catches that.
“Oh, that's what you’re looking for?” She makes it sounds like a question, but her smirk is nothing else but an invitation to her game, in which you are not planning to participate. As you let out a loud sigh, you go around the kitchen island to grab it. At the same time she turns around on the chair following your movement. You are not going to ask for it back, just as she didn't ask if she can use it. Is it normal for people like them to just take what they want?
“Oh, you want it?” Honestly, you can help but think, “is she dumb?”.
“No, actually I came over to leave it where it is, I just wanted to see it up close.” Sarcasm is dripping from every word you say. Your sentence is coated in it hoping that she will get the message.
“It or me?”
“Oh get over yourself” You reach to her left, the mug is almost in your hand, but she is faster. She snatches it into her hand, drinks the rest of the water she had in it, and lifts it up to have it out of your reach.
“Why would I? I enjoy it too much.” Your eyes are fixated on hers, the green colour sparkles with golden flakes in dimmed light. Her left hand keeps her stable by holding the counter. Your eyes are going lower, following the movement of her body. Her jacket falls lightly to the sides as she opens her legs in front of you. She wants you to reach for it. It feels like you have to work for your own property.
“Of course you do. Does the lack of manners come in a rich, self-indulgent package?” It seems like she is too mighty to have people talking to her that way. As much as you adore Carol, her friends are not your favourite kind of people. While she takes a second to react to the boldness of your statement, you use this moment to your advantage. You grab her free wrist and pull it into your direction, causing her to lose balance and fall forward. To avoid an actual fall, she grabs anything to regain control, and the closest thing to her is you. Her hand falls right onto your waist. As being just in your pyjamas, a basic t-shirt is not helpful when her cold palm digs into your side. The whole situation takes like 5 seconds, and you can't react fast enough to get out of her grip. You find yourself in an awkward position. Her face is too close to yours, as she gasps you can feel her breath on your skin. It's also cold, you assume it's because of the wine she was just drinking. It has to be an expensive kind, too, because you can't smell sulphur in her breath. Instead of actually letting you go, she seems to fight herself not to bring you closer. You can't figure out what kind of game she is playing, but you refuse to give her the upper hand in whatever this is. You get closer to her, your lips barely inches apart, her breath hitches, and before she can make any move she hears you whisper.
“Let me go.” The realization of what she is doing comes on her really fast, and she looks almost scared. The proximity of your bodies allows you to grab the mug at the last second and as she lets you go, you return to the kettle. You notice that the air in the room feels thick, so you make a mental note of opening a window before returning to your room. Trying to salvage your grip on the situation, you decide to change the topic, not mentioning that you are already convincing yourself that nothing happened.
“So!” That brings her attention towards you. The steaming green mug in your hand feels like a trophy.
“Where's your wife?” You take a sip, trying to sound natural and casual. It's after 1am, and you are in the kitchen, with a stranger, wearing a t- shirt and underwear as your pyjamas, after the two of you were in a really uncomfortable position. Bringing her wife up right this moment feels like an excellent idea.
“How do you know she's my wife? Maybe we are just partners.” The glass of wine returns to her hand, and you have to admit that it suits her.
“Your ring. Both of you have matching ones, yours was corrected into a smaller size, family heirloom I assume.” Wanda looks like she waits for you to continue, so you do.
“It's 2 different kinds of gold. The original one is warmer, more coppery and less yellow in tone, it's called Hamilton Gold. When you had it resized, they used a different kind of gold for soldering.” For a second, she looks down at her own hand, and she doesn't look back up at you before taking another sip of her wine. When her eyes meet yours, the only thing you can read in them is amazement.
“Oh, don't look at me like that. I have hobbies.”
“It's surprising that you have time for hobbies. You know, with your schedule.”
“Careful, you’re making it sound like you think you actually know me.” It seems like on every corner of the conversations you have something new for her. You are brutally honest, sarcastic, even rude sometimes and too stubborn for her liking.
“You don't like me, do you?” Before you have a chance to even think about an answer, your conversation is interrupted by the other redhead.
“Hi rodnaya. Sorry it took so long. I just need a glass of water, and then we can go.” Natasha comes up to her wife and kisses her on the cheek. Wanda smiles at that immediately, and you are trying to read them. They seem happy, what would they even look for anything else, are they playing a part in front of you? Or maybe they are just bored in life? You take in the view in front of you. Wanda's lips are even more stained than before, and it seems like Natasha got an imprint of that from her kiss. Just a second ago, you were just as close with her wife, it doesn't feel right. A shiver goes down your spine, but you decide to have this mental fight later. Natasha is a little bit taller than Wanda. Their eyes are similar in colour but have completely different natures. It reminds you of a lake and the ocean, both blue but at the same time totally different. Their hair colour is also different, and Nat’s hair is shorter than her wife’s. As you take your eyes off of their faces, you realize that her outfit that was so well put together before, is absolutely ruined. Her shirt is wrinkled, you are pretty sure that her fly is open, and her pants seem to have been put on in a hurry. You thought about possible reasons for it and, God, you wish you didn't. Maria likes to have fun, and she for sure wouldn't pass on this kind of opportunity. Before creating unwanted images in your head, Wanda’s voice takes you out of your thoughts.
“Oh, don't worry, I had a glass of wine and amazing company.” By the last bit, they are both looking at you. It's two versus one, and you don't like those odds.
“Well, I'm glad you did. Thank you, y/n, for taking care of my girl.”
“No worries, there are just a hundred other things I would rather be doing.” It's late, you are tired, and low on blood. These are perfect conditions for bitchiness. Luckily, they are not asking more and not picking up the topic. As Wanda finishes her wine and sends a fast text on her phone, you are getting ready to go back to bed. You are stopped in your tracks by a hand reaching into your direction.
“Here. If you ever have more gold fun facts or feel the need to talk about our lord and saviour, call us.” A nicely printed business card contains Wanda’s and Natasha’s names, followed by two phone numbers. You look at her with a fake, softish smile.
“I’ll call you, if I ever need a lawyer. Thank you.” You nod at her and Natasha and while feeling their eyes on you, you throw the card into the bin. Your methods might be a little brutal, but they never fail when it comes to people leaving you alone. You expect them to look disappointed, maybe even mad. Some little comment about how disrespectful you are, a much too loud scoff, precisely loud for you to hear. You can't read them, and it's infuriating, you don't feel safe. Wanda smiles at you, showing a little dimple on her left side. She hands something to her wife and as Natasha takes it from her hand she sends you a smirk and puts another business card down on the counter.  The sound of closing doors makes all of you turn into the direction of Darcy's room. Carol looks like she was almost asleep, being woken up at an ungodly hour.
“I got your text, are you guys ready?” The question is thrown in the general direction of the living room. The two redheads are on their feet immediately collecting their belongings. Carol looks at you and sends you a warm smile.
“You look better y/n. Keep your nose bleeds in check, Darcy is really worried about you.”
“Aye, aye captain.” Since your best friend told you about her partner's favourite title, you have been smoothly using it to throw Carol off. It seems to work, as she always puts her hands into fists, taking a couple of deep breaths.
“It was lovely to meet you, y/n.” Wanda is sweet in her voice, still having this curious look while studying your face.
“It really was. See you around, sugar.” Natasha is more cocky, and it doesn't look as good on her as she thinks.
As the apartment loosen up and gets more quiet, you want to take a couple extra minutes to unwind after everything, just sitting on the couch and taking in the view from the big windows.
“You’re still awake.” Darcy is up, and she is the only person whose presence you don't mind right now, or ever.
“Yeah, you know how naps work on me. I thought you were asleep.” She sits next to you and steals your mug. Taking a long sip of lightly warm tea, she puts her head on your rough shoulder. You adjust your body to make it more comfortable for the both of you.
“I almost was, but Carol has some meetings in the morning, and she had to go.” You only nod in understanding, and the room is filled by comfortable silence. This is something that you were only able to build up with Darcy. Complete trust towards each other and the whole truth between the two of you, without actually having to say a word. It takes time, and effort, but you are always willing to put in more, but it doesn't mean that you don't fight.
''What do you think about what happened?'' Her question takes you by surprise and only after giving it a couple of seconds thought, do you get what she is asking about.
“You didn't tell me that the date was with two women.”
“Does it matter?”
“It would if I had to take them out. You know, they could always turn out as some creeps.”
“They aren’t.” Darcy sounds serious, and it throws you off a little bit. These kinds of topics work as a dynamite on both of you. Just a little spark to set off an explosion. You don't agree with each other on a lot of levels, but usually you can find a middle ground. You are not so sure if that's the case right now.
“Why would Maria take money from strangers, though. At some point they will either want to take it back and will try to make her do something for it. Nobody gives this amount without asking for anything back.” It's shady, they are, and you don't like it. You would do everything to protect your friends, they are your family. Knowing that someone has so much power over one of your friends doesn't sit right with you.
''Maybe they just wanted to be nice.'' You roll your eyes. You said what you said, and Darcy can't make you change your mind. It's surprising she is even trying,
“I don’t know… all of it seems a little extreme.” You are confused, for sure, but you also feel some kind of disgust. Letting someone pay just because, it’s …. It's wrong. And then just going to bed with a complete stranger while her wife is in the next room.
“It’s not that extreme.” Darcy tries to reason with you, educate you on unknown topics. You were trying to see things from her side, but it's like talking in different languages.
“Darcy, you are literally wearing a dog collar.” You say while hooking your finger in the metal hoop, tugging at it very lightly. She slaps your hand away and looks offended.
“It's not a dog collar. God y/n. You know it's not about humiliating or degrading someone. It's a matter of ownership, Carol engraved her name on it, and it makes me feel loved beyond reason. She chose me, and she chooses me every single day. My collar shows how much she cares about me, and how proud she is of me. Carol is so happy to have me that she wants to show the rest of the world that I’m all hers, that they can only look but never touch. Tell me how that is degrading.
“This seems like a control freak thing.” You are getting really close to the boundaries right now, you can feel it. She is getting fed up, her head long gone from the space on your shoulder. Her face is shocked by the things you say. It's not going too well.
“Talking about it is one thing, but talking shit about my girlfriend is not acceptable. You've known Carol all this time… Did she ever come across as a control freak? Also, have you ever noticed her ring?” You think for a second, trying to recall the image of it in your head.
“The silver one she never takes off? I swear to god she showers, sleeps, and works with this thing on.”
“It has an engraving on the inside of it. A sign that she belongs to me just as much as I belong to her. Don’t speak up about things you know shit about.” At this point, she is standing up in front of you, and you feel trapped. Abandoning the conversation seems like the best decision at this moment, you are just too deep into it, and you don't know how to save yourself. You never meant to insult your friends.
“Okay, let's leave you and Carol for a second. What about Maria, God I would die for her, but she wants to be under somebody so much. Provide for her, tell her what to do, what to say, what to wear, who to be. This is not normal.” You really do love her, but you simply don't understand. If that were you, you would do everything to make it stop.
“Let’s not leave Carol and me. I want the same things from Carol, I'm getting the same things from Carol. Am I not normal?” You can see tears forming in her eyes. It's rare for you two to make each other cry, but every time you do, it's like hell visiting earth. You stand up to be with her on the same level, and as you do, you realise it's a mistake. Your mouth seems to work faster than your brain, and you wish you never said out loud the things you are about to say.
“Fuck sorry Darcy but it's sick. Making yourself barely exist for someone's pleasure. If you are too scared to live your life, just say so. I love you, but the fact that you chose the easy way doesn't mean I need to approve of it. I love you Darcy, so much, the last thing I want and have time for is arguing with you right now. I don't think we are going to find middle ground here”. If the looks could kill, you would be dead right there and then. She balls her hand into a fist, but you stand your ground. She moves towards you, you feel her hot breath on your face, nostril flare up, and her eyes filled to the brim with sadness, threatening to spill.
She puts a finger on your chest with surprising force, but you still didn't move. You feel smaller under her gaze, not really sure why. Her next words proved what kind of power she has in your life.
“Sick? There is no middle ground in this. You are just wrong, so, so wrong about all of this. God, how can you be so fucking blind? You are not better than any of us, just because you decide to be lonely with your struggles. Grow up, because I want my fucking friend back, and until you do, don't talk to me.”
That's it. She just stormed off to her room, leaving you in heavy silence. You’ve had arguments before, but you never said out loud what you actually think about the style of relationships your friends are living or want to live in. You should have kept your mouth shut. Mentally scolding yourself, you finish your tea and decide to try to fall asleep. Today was too long, and you wish none of it ever happened at all.
