I may be a weirdo but I find Disney remakes with realistic animal characters more hilarious/fun when some percent of the cast are human/human-like. It's like fairy tale times --- but in the real world (but not)

Like yes give me the super realistic crab Sebastian. I love it, no joke.

Hey fellow arty types. Question. Where is a good place to upload fiction? Not completed works, in progress. Not looking to publish, and don’t think I could as it’s….basically really loose fanfiction of multiple franchises (all dead or public domain. This thing has a fan base of like…9). Theoretically this could be its own story but, does have ties.

Used to post original fiction on deviantart. Facebook feels innapropriate. Thinking Tumblr, deviantart and maybe wattpad?

Idk, the goal is just to share and get work out. I feel terribly out of the loop.

@hd-literature I think you would be interested to know that (1) this is the first line of Happily Ever After:

It all started with a simple ad in the Keen City Press. No, that wasn’t right. It all really started several months earlier with a brief, curt letter delivered to the estate of Prince Asher of Krienz.

And (2) the next 3 paragraphs go on to follow the letter's journey from the post office to the estate before you even meet not-Cinderella.

Summary:

Why would anyone want a queen’s first-born baby?

What if the Pied Piper went platinum?

At their roots, fairy tales are bleak and brutal. Those who wish that their life was more like a fairy tale would be shocked to find, should their wish be granted, that the reality they rejected was nowhere near as bad. Even if things turned out for the best, they’d still have a heck of a hard time getting to their “Happily Ever After”.

That’s the case with the characters we hear from in this collection. Through a mixture of poetry and prose - with altered perspectives, settings and contexts - readers will experience new twists and takes on classic tales that are both humorous and moving.

I do love me some good reimagined fairy tales, especially with modern or different twists. The current idea bouncing in my head is actually springing off an idea I saw once for Cinderella being trans.

I think it'd be neat if Prince Charming was blind or nearly and that is part of why he couldn't recognize her. Plus when she walked in no one knew her so the heralds couldn't announce her so he never got a name.

Might fuck around and flesh this out later.

Oh and Cinderella is still trans, obv

emotionally invested in fairy tales not because i want a happy ending but because of all the pain and rage and tragedy that is hidden inside of them.
