I'm sorry but your taste in Bruce Wayne is horrible. None of those guys in the pictures have what it takes to be a Bruce Wayne. They can be a Robin or something but they're so young. They're also all so ... Well I know Bruce is white but your picks are like obnoxiously white looks wise I'm really sorry I don't know how to describe it but you picked the a Bruce Wayne so bad I had to say it in some way shape or form. Wishing better taste upon you
Do you…do you not know about Matt Reeves’ The Batman?

what are your thoughts on the rumors that the next robert pattinson batman movie might introduce robin? like i’ve seen people say that it won’t work but i’m a firm believer of “batman needs robin, batman needs dick grayson”
It absolutely will work, because Batman does need Dick Grayson. That couldn't be clearer because Dick Grayson actually worries about Bruce Wayne. For him Bruce isn't just a crime fighter or someone he has to team up with, Dick loves the man behind the mask.
I know you've most likely already read this but for those who haven't - my why Bruce Wayne needs Dick Grayson post
So Bruce comes back from an argument with Ghostmaker and punches the console so hard it shatters so Dick pauses, considers him, and plans out his next move. He makes a light opening comment about how Alfred will have Bruce fix it himself. This tactic worked and so Bruce opens up to him about his history with the enemy.
Tumblr media
Long story short, it's so emotionally packed-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He takes the time to understand and validate Bruce and his feelings which is one of the reasons why Bruce loves, respects, and needs Dick so much.
Battinson in the perfect example of Batman at the beginning. He was depressed, sad, and struggling. I don't think he even smiled in the pre-batman to pre-robin days. In the Batman comics, Bruce name-cites Dick's existence for being the reason he didn't fall into darkness so having a Dick come in as robin would be the perfect continuation of the movie series.
So I absolutely believe we should have Dick in the next movie. Also Robert Pattinson being awkward and depressed around a tiny sunshine incarnate would be so cute!!!! Like imagine a low, gravely voice rumbling in the dark of the abandoned warehouse going, "Stop." And then a small, high-pitched one who's barely holding back giggles going,"-in the name of Justice!"
So cute!! and funny!
But I am worried about who they're going to cast for it. Dick was 8 years old when he became Robin so hopefully they cast someone young enough for the role. Aside from the age, I don't have any opinion on who they should choose because in my mind no one can play robin except for Burt Ward.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But it's not like we can de-age him to play Robin again, can we.
...
Can we?

by okeatingmycaptain There's a new crime syndicate in Gotham - one that's using kids to sell drops across the city. Velma is one of those kids. She's been working with the family for three years, finding out their inner workings and making her way up through the ranks. Teo is the syndicate's next target. They want him to do their dirty work - but what they don't know is that Teo has a couple of not-quite heroes on his side that are willing to do anything to keep him out of the family. Selina Kyle has returned to Gotham, and taken on a new name. Catwoman is Batman's on-again-off-again partner, both as vigilantes and as people. She's taken over Gotham's East Side, running her operation and getting kids off the streets. Jason Todd never became the Red Hood. At least, not in the way everyone thinks. Since returning from the dead, he's worked with Catwoman as the vigilante duo tries to keep Crime Alley kids out of trouble and protected. He's also managed to keep himself a secret from everyone who knew him before his death, but when one of Batman's child soldiers gets kidnapped by the syndicate, he finds himself closer to his almost-father than he's comfortable with. Slipknot vs. Batman
This is clearly the natural progression from my last Knot review.
So how this is gonna go is, Slipknot are Touring during the Iowa Cycle. Tonight's show is in Gotham City. On the way to the venue, Several things go Awry.
Enter Batman.
Tumblr media
Shout out to this Dome shot.
It's Robert Pattinson's Batman Because Slipknot could ONLY exist in The ReevesVerse.
0. Sid Wilson
Shriek
Tumblr media
(I'm also gonna give them Villain Names)
Is Shriek the name of the chick from Venom? Guess we'll never know.
Stepping off the buss, Sid is immediately reeking of weed. Batman Took a D.A.R.E. course in grade school and knows that saying 'no to drugs' is Cool. Sid is Taken down With a Swift kick to the back of the Legs. He does not put up a fight.
1. Joey Jordison
Porcelain Prince
Tumblr media
You know you like the name. Let's get this going.
Scavenging for some food Around the city, Batman sees Joey playfully punch Corey on the arm. "Violence is Wrong," The Dark Knight Whispers. Stalking his way towards the pair, He swoops in and Punches Joey in the Face. Dazed, Joey Let's out a "What the fuck, Are you Batman ??"
Another punch.
"Why the fuck are you on me?" The Smaller man Asks, Fear in his voice.
"Justice." A third punch is administered and Joey is down.
Corey is stunned as Fuck.
2. Paul Gray
The Filth
Tumblr media
There's Already The Pyg.
Paul was Actually Caught up in a Case of Right place, Wrong time. Deciding to Tour the historic City, the Band Was Booked to Visit the Famed Wayne Manor. A few of the Men showed up Early to get a closer look without all the supervision. While the others were busy looking around, Paul was digging inside a Silver closet.
In that moment, the back wall shifted.
Batman emerged from the Shadows.
He'd heard of this new guy from the locals but didn't Quite believe the legends.
He introduced himself.
Batman Swiftly Tased him.
3. Chris Fehn
The Liar
Tumblr media
Original, I know.
Stuck in Gotham due to harsh weather conditions, Chris found himself Playing Golf with The Social Elites. Alfred was in attendance that day, a rare day off from watching his Man Child Subordinate.
On a particular stressful hole, Alfred found himself glancing around, quickly spotting the long-nosed mask.
Chris was Jerking his nose nervously.
Seeing an older, clearly more experienced man struggle with the course was not a good sign of things to come. Had his mask been unzipped, he'd be biting his fingernails in anticipation.
Alfred doesn't like the way this guy is looking at him and making obscene Gestures.
After the game is over, he informs Bruce.
Chris is taken out from behind.
He lands one punch Batman's collar bone before he gets absolutely Folded.
4. James Root
The Collector/ Puppet Master
Tumblr media
At this point I don't even Care if they're Iowa Era Pictures, you get the idea.
On the night of the show, Jim went into Gotham town Square To get a few Supplies (Tape and Beer).
Walking through the dim Streets, He happened upon a Robbery in progress.
Being a man of Substantial build, He Stepped in.
Taking the Purse from the Would-be Robber just as Batman pulled up.
Using his expert Detective skills, Jim was Obviously the robber and it definitely was NOT the guy running down the alley.
Batman begins his Assault.
Jim put up a good fight, his Ultimate Downfall being a nightstick to the Neck.
5. 133
Iron Spike
Tumblr media
Sorry about the filter, I love this picture.
Walking through a crowded area, Craig was Shoved into a few people behind him.
Like a hungry shark, Batman smelled the blood.
Craig Stood no chance, Not that he even wanted to Try.
6. Clown
Tumblr media
Reminds me of Chop Top With that hanger, scratchin his head.
Shawn was walking through the city talking at his Normal Loud Volume.
Some guys told him to Shut up.
This was met by audible winces from the accompanying Band Mates as The Clown made his way across the street To Fuck these guys up.
It took almost every tool on Batman's belt to get the man down.
Eventually he was thwarted by the Shark Repellant. It has some sort of chloroform like Agent in it.
7. Mick Thomson
Leather Devil
Tumblr media
Once again just going with the mask name because it fits.
Trying to avoid the general public, Mick Found himself in a Quaint bar in the Narrows.
Unbeknownst to him, famed Kingpin Penguin had been tracking the band since they arrived in the city and was Currently approaching the Man.
"Long Night?" A hefty man sat on the stool Beside him. Mick grunted in agreement.
"Do you have a pen?"
Mick was getting Aggravated, he wanted to be left alone, Not sign autographs. Does it look like he has a fucking pen.
A disheveled looking Batman stubbles out of the bathroom at the same moment Mick stands up from the bar.
Penguin claps him on the back. "Maybe next time Micky."
Cobblepot in Cahoots with Slipknot? Time to step in and save the Day.
Mick Simply walks out of the bar before Batman can even think about an approach tactic.
8. Corey Taylor
The Creature
Tumblr media
The famed creepypasta "Creature".
Back to Joey's entry.
Corey put up a fight to keep his friend from being beaten up. He jumped on The Bat's Back and tried to draw as much attention as possible to the scene.
He escaped this encounter relatively unharmed.
Taking note of Where his bandages had last been seen, he made it his Duty to get revenge on The Batman.
To be Continued...
Love Bad Fanfic. This didn't go nearly the way I thought it would but that's okay because It's still Exactly what it needs to be.

Who should play The Batman in the DCU?
Tumblr media
This is a question that I think no one really wants to answer.
After the success of Matt Reeves The Batman, Michael Keatons return to the role, Kevin Conroy's Death, and Ben Affleck leaving it, I think it is safe to say people have had enough Batman, and enough good takes of the character.
Even so, Andy Muschetti is currently set to direct The DCU's Brave and the Bold, which will show a new Batman, now older and with his son, Damian Wayne.
Recently a popular fancast surfaced of John Krasinski for the role, to some fans love and some fans dismay.
Tumblr media
Personally, I don't think he was suited for Reed or for Bruce. I can see him more as a Green Lantern. But this did get my wheels turning, hopefully to do better. And I got some picks. But first, we need to answer a few questions.
What live action versions are we pulling from?
Tumblr media
We want to pull key elements from different versions, but there are so many iterations Jesus.
I am not going to go into all of them, I'll stick with 3. But know that I am a fan of most iterations of The Batman.
Ben Affleck
Tumblr media
Love him or hate him, Ben Affleck's Batman was memorable. Personally he has a lot of things I want to incorporate into our DCU Batman. For one, he is our older Batman. Our actor should be similar aged to Ben.
He is also a complete unit. After being Batman for so long, he has had to make himself more of a unit in order to properly take out foes.
This is also the best voice, suit, and fighting style I've seen for a live action Batman. The voice modulator works wonders.
I think Ben had a presence that made it clear he was a leader of the team, if not Thee leader. I want our Bruce to feel the same.
Robert Pattinson
Tumblr media
Robert Pattinson is a little weirdo. And I mean that in the best way.
This was the first time I think it was properly shown how uncomfortable it might be to be around such a presence as Batman. He is fear personified, and working with someone like that can and should be awkward.
Pattinson also took being Batman way too seriously, our Bruce should do the same. Batman's a religion to Bruce.
We need someone who can be a middle ground between these two as Batman.
Christian Bale
Tumblr media
While those two perfected Batman, no one has done Bruce Wayne better than Bale.
Bale by far did the act of Bruce Wayne most convincingly. It is one of my favorite aspects of his films. We need someone who can pull off charming douchebag when needed, but slip back into dark loner.
Bale was also funny in a way Batman hasn't been in awhile. We need someone when comfortable be able to joke with Clark.
You can see why casting a Batman can be extremely difficult. Balancing all these characteristics are crucial to making it work.
What ethnicity is Bruce Wayne?
Tumblr media
All iterations of Batman have been white.
Now, is there value in making him another ethnicity? Maybe. Making him a person of color could be part of why he doesn't trust the police and takes matters into his own hands. Perhaps maybe his parents being new money is why they are killed. Who is to say?
For now, I will say Batman can be any ethnicity.
Other Stipulations
Tumblr media
The DCU Batman is confirmed to have a son, Damian Wayne. Assuming he has already raised Dick Grayson, Tim Drake and Jason Todd is already dead, this Batman has to be in their 50s. We're looking for an older actor.
George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, Robert Pattinson and Ben Affleck have all taken up the role, meaning we need a name. Someone who immediately you know, whether you like it or not. But we also need someone surprising.
We need someone who we can see doing this for awhile. At least 5-8 years. The DCU is just starting, so someone with longevity is a must.
He should probably be tall.
Finally, as always, someone not known for past superhero roles. Let's begin.
3. Jamie Dornan
Tumblr media
Jamie Dornan may be the safest and most controversial choice for The Batman.
Like Pattinson before him, Dornan is known for playing the love interest in some pretty bad movies, but since has made a career for himself full of wins. Projects like Belfast, Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar and the Tourist proves Dornan has the acting chops for it.
He is a little younger than we would like, but he can play older, and looks a lot like a classic Bruce Wayne.
Tumblr media
I have two main concerns for Dornan. One, would he be better off as a villain? In the DCU, he may make a fantastic Gotham City villain like Harvey Dent. But in the MCU, does he have the making of a fantastic Doctor Doom? I think so.
Tumblr media
Finally, the character he plays in Fifty Shades of Grey is BASED on Edward Cullen, who was played by Robert Pattinson, our current Batman. The comparisons will be built in from the beginning, and we something fresh.
I think Dornan can kill it, but there's too much against him for him to be my main pick.
2. Bradley Cooper
Tumblr media
Now I know what you're thinking, he's Rocket Raccoon!
Yes he is, but the Guardians movies are now finished. And unlike his teammates, Cooper doesn't really show his face when playing the character. In a way, he is oddly detached from Marvel.
He has also worked with James Gunn before, is currently producing Joker: Folie a Deux, and has an incredible career to back up him as a pick.
From American Sniper to Nightmare Alley to A Star is Born, Cooper consistently delivers. He can do suave, he can do loner, he can do troubled, and he can do comedy. I think he could be a spiritual successor to someone like Ben Affleck, and lead the Justice League in a way that feels natural.
He'd also be useful behind the camera, as he was the director of A Star is Born.
Tumblr media
My biggest concern with Cooper is whether he would want to do it. One of the benefits of playing a raccoon is you get to work from a booth for maybe a few hours and you're done. This would be a commitment.
There also comes the question of whether Cooper is bigger than the role. We want people to be lost in the story, so finding an actor who convincingly be Batman is crucial. Cooper might be just a little too big for this.
Of my three, I think Cooper is the most likely to land the role, and that may be for the best.
1. Alexander Skarsgård
Tumblr media
If we're looking for a surprising pick, with range, physicality, a name that is big but not bigger than the role, I give you: Alexander Skarsgård.
Known for roles in The Stand, Succession, The Northman and Infinity Pool, Skarsgård is one of those actors who is often forgotten but people are excited to see when he pops up.
He is a dramatic actor who can do funny, scary, and anything in between. He's played fantasy characters in The Stand, a billionaire asshole in Succession, and a warrior in The Northman, all praised. He has all the making of a great Batman.
Tumblr media
He is classically handsome, and at 6'3, 46 years old, he is just in the age range we're looking for, and towers over most heroes.
He doesn't feel like any other Batman before him either, which will help us stay away from those comparison conversations.
I don't think there really is a perfect answer as to who should be the next Batman. But of all my options, Skarsgård makes the most sense. I could see him and David Corenswet leading the league for years to come.

Top 5 Batman portrayals? 👁️🫦👁️💕
OOOO OK OK
So Misha said they don’t have to be live action portrayals so there’s a mix in here! This was also SUPER HARD TO CHOOSE so for the record these aren’t so much ranked as they are a nebulous cloud of a top 5
Kevin Conroy in B:TAS/TNBA/JL. This was probably pretty predictable. Come on. He’s first voice I hear in my head while thinking about Batman (a close second tho actually is something like his voice in Arkham Origins and the Hush movie! Idk their actors tho) and he played one of if not the most important Batman portrayals ever. To get NUANCED about this briefly, I do have issues with the DCAU’s later writing for Bruce, namely how everything about him seems to get so grimdark and edgy compared to his warmth and gentleness in B:TAS BUT how and ever SO. Kevin Conroy king forever 👑
Robert Pattinson in The Batman. You know I love me my Rpatz. I can absolutely understand why he might not be someone’s favourite, especially if they’re a fan of the classic depiction of Bruce, but what I really love about him (and this extends to Riddler too!) is that despite being different in some ways on the surface, all his traits ultimately come from the same core character and experience as depictions that feature more galas, swimwear models and ski trips in the Alps Brucie Waynes. He’s both a very grounded depiction of a deeply troubled man yet he toes the line between the “realism” of ‘verses like the Nolanverse and more camp superhero stuff so well and he has so much potential for his sequel, as well as of course giving us the chance to see him be a detective!! Finally!! To mention Robert himself then, he did such an amazing job playing Bruce. I love Robert Pattinson, I really do, I seek out movies with him in them, and still every time I see him in a movie, Rob completely melts away and it’s just… the character. There truly are few actors I can say that about, but I feel it so strongly for him, and his Batman portrayal was no different. (Also autidm bruce yuh). I also love his dynamic with Jim, Rob and Jeffrey are so good together.
Bruce in Batman: The Imposter. A non-actor one on here! Admittedly I don’t read as many comics as I’d like, but Batman: The Imposter was one I had to buy in May after seeing The Batman and having it recommended to me. For a lot of the same reasons I like The Batman 2022 Bruce, I like B:TI Bruce. I find with him that there’s such a… a softness to him. When he’s Bruce, there’s such a quietness, almost a meekness to him. He really reads as very pained but still somehow managing to find a kindness in his heart, even when he’s so isolated from the world. I also think it’s interesting — if slightly concerning — that Alfred is pretty much gone from Bruce’s life. A while after Bruce comes into Alfred’s care as a child, Alfred can’t handle him anymore, sends him off to boarding school, and dips from the Wayne family completely. Absolute worst Alfred I’ve ever seen, we do not stan. BUT my point is that, while I feel like there’s a chance the author wrote Bruce to be alone for the sake of cliche lone wolf edgelord, it just makes his shy nature outside of the Batman suit stand out to me more. Even so alone, he hasn’t lost hope. And. The page where he’s talking about his effect on Gotham, and he sheds a tear from under the cowl. Yeah. Yeah it got to me. Also! He’s the closest we have to a canonically autistic Bruce!
David Mazouz in Gotham. Okay. Okay. Gotham is not well-written, nor do I like the fact that Bruce plays a part in the show at all, I don’t like him being on a path to Batman from the moment his parents die. HOWEVER. I think David is a fantastic depiction of a young, struggling to grieve, anger-filled, doesn’t-want-to-feel-powerless Bruce. He’s a kid trying to understand himself and the world that’s been turned upside down on him, and David portrays a great balance of innocence and blooming maturity. Also, the older he gets, the more he looks like a perfect Bruce I swear to god. Even if I don’t like Bruce’s role in the show, I always thought David Mazouz was a great fit.
Bruce in The Batman 2004 cartoon. This one’s just fun. They don’t really touch on the darker aspects of him and they don’t mention his parents much at all (they don’t pretend they never died, but they’re very *very* vague and rare about their mentions of them) but I just think he’s really fun. He’s young and energetic but he’s not a party animal, and I think he’s interesting as a,, surprisingly stable Bruce. He also doesn’t have as much separation between Batman —> Bruce and Bruce —> Brucie as other depictions which I think is interesting! He feels very genuine and always like himself, but they’re also not afraid to show him being self-destructive or neglecting his needs for his work.
BONUS MENTION BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS: Ben Affleck in the DCEU. Okay okay OKAY I do not like the DCEU. I really don’t, and I think Bruce is grievously miswritten (???) in BvS. But. Ben deserved better. I can very easily see him as Bruce. I think he makes a very good older Bruce, AND he was great in the party scene in BvS where he meets Clark and they butt heads. Same as with Henry Cavill, they deserved to play better written versions of their characters.
Tumblr media
Thank you for the thought provoking ask, Mish!!!!

Opinions on Robert Pattinson’s Batman? Did he do a good job? Do you have a favorite Batman actor?
Loved Robert Pattinson’s Batman! I think he did a great job of capturing the angst of a young Batman as well as some of the awkwardness and harshness of Bruce when he’s so deep in the vigilantism he loses sight of all else… I just think The Batman was such a good movie.
For live action Batmen, I think Michael Keaton and Robert Pattinson are my faves. Kevin Conroy is my fave Batman voice—he’s absolutely excellent.

Jason, Stephanie, and Dick absolutely have musical karaoke nights. Most recently they did Heathers, and Jason was obviously Heather Chandler. He slayed.
Heather Chandler Jason is good. I can imagine Candy Store playing in his helmet as he’s out on patrol. I do feel like he would be forced to sing J.D.’s parts on at least one song because he is named Jason.

My #1 post of 2022
Any ships you like that aren’t generally well liked in fandom? Like rare pairs or anything like that?
Honestly, I think my shipping taste is fairly mainstream. The only rarepair that I can think of is jaybabs. Their dynamic in Batman Eternal got me bad. Jason’s childhood crush and admiration for Babs having never truly gone away, and Babs maybe seeing him in a different light for the first time… *chef’s kiss*
Tumblr media
Another ship I liked more when I was younger, when the New 52 was actually new, was Damian and Colin Wilkes. But Colin got eaten by the continuity monster, so… we may never see him again lol.
I think the batfam mainly appeals to me with the found family aspect, but I do enjoy romance too!

Review: The Batman
So, I FINALLY watched The Batman (2022) starring Robert Pattinson, Zoey Kravitz, Andy Serkis, and others whose names I really don’t remember. I think the guy who was Beetee in Hunger Games was Gordon?
Anyway. First I’ll give my spoiler free review.
Then I’ll go into more spoilery bits.
So. Spoiler Free: It was fine. Not groundbreaking but not trying too hard either like I feared it would. I mean, parts could be EXTRA but it’s a Batman movie; that is to be expected.
No one gave a bad performance, which was great. I was surprised at how much I liked Andy Serkis’s interpretation of Alfred. He should get more roles like that. He’s good at them.
I was also impressed by the Battinson. Keaton’s still my #1 Live Action Bat, but Battinson ranks above Batfleck in my books. I also prefer his Batman voice to Bale and Afleck’s by a MILE.
There are still some issues I have with it but, like I said, it was fine.
I’m about to head to the spoilers now, so don’t click if you don’t want spoiled for a movie’s that’s been out on bluray for a bit.
Final conclusion: Rent or Buy? Since I already bought it, I’d have to say Buy but if Batman’s not a hero you care much for, then just rent this. Now be warned, because not only are spoilers ahead but so are personal opinions. You’re free to disagree, but keep in mind this is what I think.
So, parts in particular I wanted to give this movie credit:
Not flashing back to the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Every other movie that introduces Batman seems to need to show the Wayne murders but this one didn’t and I applaud it for it.
Instead, it kept things in a small window of time and used video as the way of looking into the past instead of flashbacks.
That’s another thing I have to applaud it for: keeping the timeline compressed and consistent. They had a story they wanted to tell and a case they wanted to set up.
Though, here is my biggest gripe: They sort of fused Riddler with Hush. The mask reminded me far more of Hush than it did the Riddler. The reporter murdered by that mob boss had the last name “Elliot.”
Hush’s real identity was Thomas “Tommy” Elliot.
I know Hush and Riddler worked together in the comics, but here they just mushed them into one and it made for an unpleasant combination. The actor did what he could here but overall, I didn’t like this Hushiddler the writers created for this film, period.
They also had the cops make some rookie mistakes at times. With Hushiddler’s base found, shouldn’t the cops have torn up everything looking for evidence? Meaning, shouldn’t the carpet have been rolled up to make sure there wasn’t evidence there or checking for blood stains?
This is a second year Batman, so I’ll excuse him not being as quick on the uptake as he could be.
ALSO: Hushiddler’s targeting of Bruce makes no sense.
Bruce was EIGHT when his dad died. He’d have been in no position to do anything to help the orphans Hushiddler grew up with until he was older and it’s shown he isn’t in a good headspace just yet.
Though, gotta wonder why Alfred didn’t continue doing good works in the name of Thomas Wayne....
I saw the “Falcone is Selina’s dad thing” coming the moment after they interacted.
While Kravitz did well with her performance, there were times I wondered what the writers were thinking with her arc.
Side Tangent: I also HATED the scoring. Did the composer not have access to more than two notes at a time or Ave Maria? It grew annoying to hear that “da-dada-dum-da” very damn fast and hearing Ave Maria in major and minor over and over also began to piss me off. Also, it felt like the “Imperial March” should have started playing over that two note repetition after a while.
And did they have to have the actor sing OFF KEY? Some of us have perfect pitch and that HURTS to hear.
I’m a semi-professional musician, I have opinions on music, ok?
Ok, side tangent over.
There were decisions made with the plotting that did remind me more of the comics than most Batman films—the rampant corruption of the government for example—and something about the plot overall seemed like it could have been an arc from the comics.
The chase scene with Penguin: Extra, so so Extra.
The fact that the Hushiddler had a sorta parasocial relationship with The Batman was an interesting angle but, I still really don’t care much for Hushiddler overall. The moment his neighbor started talking, I was like “...The Joker?”
Then there was a glimpse of a messed up face that looked like it was a perma grin and the laugh clinched it. That actor nailed the laugh.
So, if WB isn’t ashes, will The Batman 2 follow The Dark Knight’s footsteps and have the Joker headline the second movie as the main antagonist?
Well, who knows!
Either way, it was a very solid Batman film and, for the most part, I was able to follow along with the plot and I’ve managed to (somehow) avoid all spoilers for the last five months.
I do not regret buying this film, and also don’t regret not watching it in theaters.

Ok so like. This is something i have been thinking about a lot, and i would love to hear other people's thoughts on this.
Sertant actors have been pushed into such a spacific catagory, or peaked at such a spacific characterization that they wont work in any other role.
Its a genuin issue for both viewers and actors. Type casting is basicly when an actor gets hired for the same type of role over and over again. Sertant actors can get out of it, for example Robert Pattinson in "the batman" he was well known for his role in twilight. So when people heard he would play batman many were unsure, but he did a great job! When i watched the movie i didnt go "oh its that guy from twilight" i was genuinly immersed and all i could think of him as was Bruce Wayne/Batman.
On the other side of the coin you have The Rock. He is a great actor, but he has played the same type of role so many times that half the time you dont remember his character's name. You don't look at him in a movie and think "oh thats [insert character name here]" you look at him and say "oh thats The Rock!" Making it hard to be immersed in the story.
Im thinking of this cuz some family friends were over and one said, "Umbridge is playing [character] in [show]! I'll look at her and all i can think about is Umbridge!" Then i remembered that was my same reaction when i learned Dwayne was playing Blackbolt.
This is not memt as shade taword Wayne or any actor. I was just thinking about how its important for the irl identity of an actor to fade into the background of a movie, cuz if it doesn't it makes it hard to feel for and relate to a character. Thats my personal opinion though.

Batmobile
Robert Pattinson!Bruce Wayne x fem!reader
Word Count: 2.1k
Warnings: smut!!!!! 18+, unintentional sex tape ?
Author’s Note: my ideal time. Bruce and the batmobile. Jokes aside I realy loved this one <3
Summary: You know Batman is Bruce. You have a past and manage to get Bruce in the batmobile for a break from crime fighting
I don’t own these characters. They belong to author/director/creator
(not my gif)
Tumblr media
The Batmobile did not often come out to play. Bruce usually just took his motorcycle. It was easier to control and didn’t often cause people to look as he passed. The car was loud, flashy, and big.
But some nights he brought it out. If he thought he was going to need it he would drive it out there in the cover of the black Gotham nights. When there weren’t people on the streets it was better. Just the rats of humans scampering through the alleyways, too preoccupied with themselves to look at him.
You could hear the car before you saw it or him. Sometimes when you were out, doing your recreational activities at night, you didn’t see Bruce Wayne for weeks. Gotham was a big city and it was filled to the brim with crime. As you heard the rev of that engine a smile graced your face.
You slid down the roof and grabbed the edge, landing gracefully on the balcony then jumping down to the ground. You helped the Batman. Sometimes. When you felt like it and when Catwoman wasn’t around. You could see him now, reflecting bullets off of his arm shields. You snuck around and grabbed one of the preoccupied thugs. You knocked him out. He landed on the ground with a thud.
Bruce caught your eye and you could feel his special contacts staring at you, making sure it was you and not someone he didn’t know. Once he had struggled enough with facial recognition he went back to fighting jaggedly. The two of you finished off the thugs easily, the rest of them scampering along into the night in fear. You stood up straight, cracking your knuckles.
“I thought you only did big time fights now,” you said smoothly, crossing your arms and leaning against the graffiti covered wall. “I missed you, down here on the ground.” Your words sounded slightly more genuine then you wanted it to.
You had found out he was Bruce Wayne by accident. That was months ago. It turned out in your real lives, you worked rather close when he felt like working. For the first couple of times you saw him afterwards his eyes watched you filled with worry and fear and preparation for everything to come to an end. But you never mentioned it. You called him Bruce when you were alone but always Bats when you weren’t.
In exchange, you told him your name.
“Do anything fun without me?”
“Mostly mundane things. Drug lords.” You scoffed.
“Sounds fun.” You walked past him to the batmobile. You brushed your fingers along the hood. It was raining lightly, the droplets bouncing off the black paint. You leaned against it. He walked up to you, full confidence in his steps.
“What have you been doing?” “Petty crimes,” you shrugged. “You're breathing hard Batman. That fight take a lot out of you?” You pushed yourself off the hood of the car which closed the gap between the two of you. You pretended not to notice his breath hitch. You loved the effect you had on him. You were pretty sure Bruce Wayne had never been with someone who wasn’t you. It was an insane thought, considering his status and looks and music taste.
You put your hand on his chest, tracing the bat symbol.
“Drug lords are all talk, not enough fighting.” You smiled a bit pleasantly. You moved your hand up to his cheek and dragged your fingers down his jaw. He was cold to the touch. Your other hand reached into one of his many pockets and pulled out the keys. You moved aside. Bruce breathed out a soft expulsion of tension. You unlocked the car and opened the back door, dragging your fingers along the top. You ripped off your mask, pocketing it so he could see your face. You leaned a hip against the window. You tossed him the keys back.
“Take me for a joyride?”
-
Were the streets of Gotham a great place to pull over for a moment? No. But the heat was rising in Bruce’s chest and you were leaning precariously forward, your fingers on his neck so that he could feel them through the mask.
He stepped on it and pulled into the beginning of the cave. You were gently moving back and forward which he was keenly aware of. Once you were shaded by the dark you moved up so your faces were parallel.
“How much further?”
Bruce was keenly aware that he was taking you back to his secret hide out which was…secret for a reason. Regardless he set his jaw and pushed harder on the gas pedal. You smiled as you moved through the tunnel into the cave. He parked the car as soon as the gate closed. He turned his head and you crashed your lips onto his. You grabbed the cape aggressively, tugging on it. Bruce grabbed your arm and pulled you forward into the front of the car.
He was too excited to worry about being awkward.
You landed on his lap, straddling him. The engine was still running.
Bruce hadn’t been kissed like this ever in his life. He craved your lips. He couldn’t get enough of your fingers gently holding his chin. The feeling of your hot body against his, unfortunately blocked by his armor and your suit. But your lips. He could drown in those lips. He would do meetings day in and out if it meant your lips would be there when he got out of them.
You hummed gently, leaning against the steering wheel. You put your hands flush on his chest, both of you breathing hard.
“Between your outfit and my outfit, we can’t do this in the front seat.” You nodded your head at the backseat. “Looks like no one’s occupying the backs-” you started but he cut you off by opening up the front door. You suppressed a giggle and climbed in the back while he went around the car. While you waited for him you shimmied off your outfit as much as you could.
He had unlatched his pants and tossed them aside. He crawled on top of you. You smiled at the look of the bat ears on top of you. You moved your hands up, taking the mask off slowly. He was breathing heavily, pale cheeks rosy red, eyeshadow around smearing his eyes.
“Bruce,” you whimpered. You could feel his dick against your inner thigh. He was pulsing and rock hard. You moved his cheek so that he met your eyes. He gently leaned his chin forward but let you kiss him first. Now that your lips were back together he had a surge of confidence. You wrapped your legs around his waist, clinging to him as he moved in alignment. “Go ahead sweetheart,” you whispered, breathing heavily. He let out a deep guttural noise and pushed himself inside you.
You breathed in sharply as he let out a long sigh mixed with a moan. You wrapped your arms around him and pulled his dick further inside of you with your legs. He gasped, shaking. He buried his head into your shoulder as he started to thrust. You shook under his size.
“Mmm Bruce,” you whimpered underneath him. You kissed the side of his head, breathing shakily. You tore at his armor. You could the clips and tossed it in the front seat. The anticipation and tension had started to get to you already as a knot formed in your stomach. He was speeding up. You could feel his anger and frustration in each thrust. “Bruce.” He nodded, giving you the go ahead but being unable to speak up. You came undone beneath him which finished him off. He shook, letting out one last long moan into you.
He became deadweight on top of you for a moment, constricting your breathing. You coughed and then he quickly did half a push up so he was hovering above you.
“Uh uh,” you whispered, shaking your head. You pulled him back down to you. “I can take it.” He smirked and shook his head. Your eyes went wide. “What was that?! Was that a smile?” He moved out of you weakly. “Don’t walk away from me. Don’t deny it Bruce.” You moved up on your elbows. You giggled as he turned away from you, shrugging his pants back on. “Bruce!”
“I didn’t do anything.”
“I’m still naked and you’re denying us already?”
“I mean,” he said, setting his jaw, “I didn’t laugh at you.” You pulled your clothes back on, taking the mess right now. You climbed out of the car.
“You can laugh at me, you know. It’s what people do when they like each other.”
He wanted to kiss you again. He had never felt such an aggressive primal need like this before.
“You like me?”
“Was the…was the sounds I was making not enough?” you asked, astonished. He flushed and looked away. You laughed gently. “How do you get out of this place by the way? I’m not gonna make you drive me back out even if I’m jealous of the good ol batmobile here,” you questioned.
He shook his head.
“It’s late.”
“Yeah Batman? Is it?” He cleared his throat. He gestured up to the ceiling and scratched the back of his neck. “The bats?”
“My building.”
“Oh yeah! Front door!”
“You could stay over. Eat chinese leftovers to rejuvenate from…” You tried to hide the sneaking smile on your face.
“That sounds fantastic, Batsy.” You handed him his mask back. “Also, you’re prettier without the mask. Just letting you know.” You walked to the stairs. He looked down at the mask and tossed it on the computer. He looked down at the contact holder and half choked. He forgot they were in his eyes. “What are you waiting for?” you questioned from the bottom step. “Bruce?” You walked back to him slowly and looked at his computer set up. You had never been down here before. “Love the computers. What, you gonna miss your video games by hanging out with me?”
He cleared his throat and moved his hands up to his eye. You watched carefully as he took the contact out.
“What, do you not have natural blue eyes?” He put it down and watched the computer as he took the other one out. It started to replay at the beginning of the night. You didn’t realize what it was for a moment and then it hit you. You scoffed. “Bruce…did you just make a sextape of me?”
“Not on purpose,” he grumbled. “I’ll delete it.”
“Don’t bother. Just…keep it to yourself,” you said, smiling slyly. You walked back to the staircase. He paused it at the beginning of the night, just in case. He followed you upstairs.
Alfred heard the door open. It was louder than the others. He usually didn’t bother waiting up for Bruce because he was out so late but he was back earlier tonight.
“Where’s the chinese?” you asked. “Hell, where’s the kitchen?” You jumped at the sight of Alfred. “Oh!” Bruce, shirtless, walked up behind you. He cleared his throat.
“This is my butler, Alfred. Alfred this is Y/N.”
“A friend?” Alfred questioned.
“You could say that,” Bruce replied. You smiled sheepishly. “Kitchens this way.” You nodded once and followed his pointed finger. Alfred cleared his throat and watched you go.
“She’s very pretty. Did you meet while you were-”
“Uh huh. I’m gonna…go eat chinese.”
“Have fun. Be safe.”
Bruce cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck as he followed behind you.

Here’s my two cents on The Batman film 2022 (which literally no one asked for)
First of all, I want you to know that I have no biases whatsoever. I’m not a die-hard Robert Pattinson fan, I’m not a die-hard Batman fan, and I‘m barely into DC movies. This “review” is purely based on the content of the movie from a filmmaking enthusiast’s perspective.
Some spoilers below the cut too so.. proceed with caution
Let’s start with my absolute favourite thing about this film; the cinematography. Greig Fraser has done it again, people. He blew us away with Dune and JUST got an oscar for it too. And now these Batman visuals are just stunning. There are so many scenes when I wanted to pause, screenshot and paint that shot. SO MANY incredible shots, such impeccable colour-grading. It was beautifully shot and that alone, makes the film very enjoyable.
My second favourite thing is the cast. Look, DC movies usually have very good casting, so I’m not surprised that the acting was that good. This might be the wrong thing to say to some groups of people but idgaf - this is my blog - I think Robert Pattinson’s Batman is my favourite Batman. Here’s why; Pattinson gave us a Batman that really shows us how pained and depressed he is. How broken and alone, still very much the same child that watched his parents die. He’s not the strongest Batman, not the most graceful, not the most well-built Batman. But he is the best Bruce Wayne to date and I will die on this hill.
My second favourite performance was, of course, Paul Dano’s Riddler. Talk about psychotic. This character’s whole design was just terrifyingly unsettling in the best way. From the sound of his breathing playing into the suspense of these shots, to the insane attire. Let’s also discuss the unhinged performance by Dano because holy shit. I found him genuinely unsettling. To be able to induce that much discomfort with a mask like that on is damn near impossible and Paul Dano made it look effortless. Incredible, to say the very least. His unhinged - for lack of a better word - performance when he’s face to face with Batman? Iconic
A random bit I truly appreciate is Penguin’s feet tied together after getting captured by Batman and Gordon, when he starts waddling after them like an actual penguin.
Also, Colin Farrell as Penguin was unrecognisable, but incredible all the same. The bit when Batman pays him a visit with the photographs of Anika and the mayor, when Batman had him against the window - incredible.
Now, the story. As a concept, as a plot, it’s fantastic. I think this might be one of the most interesting plot-lines in Batman movie history. The Riddler’s puzzles and ciphers were clever, interesting. Kept everyone thinking. The story started off strong and with so much promise. Then it lost me along the way. Why? For starters, it dragged. We took breaks between discoveries when this film had the chance to - no - was supposed to be fast paced enough to have you dangling off the edge of your seat. This was supposed to be a “find victim one, how do we find victim two before the become a victim. Let’s scramble to find this target” type of film. Like Dan Brown’s Angles and Demons movie adaptation. Just fast, anxious, gasping for breath. So much wasted potential.
The whole chunk where Bruce becomes one of the Riddler’s targets was such a reach, it hurt me physically. Are we really putting him on the same list as these other people he exposed because Bruce’s father wanted to keep his wife’s private life private? Lol ok
Now, directing decisions I didn’t like include but aren’t limited to the following:
- Every kiss between the Bat and the Cat. Very badly written into these scenes. Could have been done much better. And once was enough, fam. The kiss in the arena? Really not needed. Added nothing. I’m sorry.
- Dramatacising (idk if that’s evenxa word but you get it) scenes that don’t deserve it. Exhibit A: when Batman cuts the cord and lands in the water in the arena only to stand up a moment after. What in God’s name was that? I thought he was about to die. Calm down.
- Why the hell did Bruce have to graffiti his floor? And write that DAMN BIG? Cant he see?
Now, the sets were fine, the props were fine, the costumes were fine. You know what wasn’t fine? The Bat Mobile. When its engine roared to life in that alleyway I was so excited for it to come out and pancake these hoes but instead, I got an enhanced Mustang. *inhales* look, I know some of you might say oh but it could be his first prototype. I get it, yes, maybe. But he has contacts that record shit. Contacts. And he can’t put together a decent Bat Mobile? Bullshit.
Let’s not forget about the whole narration thing they had going. Stop making your characters narrate in the background like that, it’s BEEN done. There are so many clever ways to have these back stories or prefaces done without making it look so dated. If they had brought up Bruce physically saying some of this stuff in between or even writing it down, as he was by the end of it, it would have been much better. But this? Just a whole ten minutes of narration? That aint it.
Now, last but not least, the film score. What the fuck was that? I’d like to start with the one actual song on that godawful soundtrack. They loved it so much, they opened with it, and closed with it. First of all, films like this one cannot have lyrical songs anymore. You can do it in the trailer but once you do it in the film, it looks and sounds dated. Also, having it play while Bruce us narrating his thought? Garbage move. Now, the actual score, it sucked. I’m sorry, it really let me down. I understand that Matt Reeves and Michael Giacchino have worked together numerous times but Giacchino was mot right for this job. When you’ve had Hans Zimmer do The Dark Knight, you need a score that can be just as good or even better. There’s no room for error. And then they go and do this. There was one bit in the film where we bounced between three character-themed tracks in less than two minutes without a decent transition and I remember looking at my friend like “what the fuck”. Also, the drums? Terrible idea. So many more contemporary ways of instilling dread in your audience. Drums are great but not for this film. This one needed more. Another thing that absolutely sent me wanting to tear my hair out was the screeching violin or whatever that was when a particularly anxious scene was on. And it kept repeating itself. It was scary first, then it got annoying as fuck. Again, Hans Zimmer builds anxiety and suspense up so well, you can’t help but learn from him. Dunkirk and Interstellar are GREAT examples of that.
I liked it overall, I promise. I just think it needed some more work / time / money.

I watched The Batman (2022) dir. Matt Reeves and here’s almost-everything I want to say about it 🦇
Note: You can disagree with me. Neither of us are wrong or right about how we perceive this movie. The sentence structure will be atrocious, I’m a little sorry. It’s also a long post. Spoilers below
• The Batman (2022) is not like the Dark Knight Trilogy (2005-2012), but it shares a few similarities. To me, the similarity starts and ends with how rooted in reality the two films are & the journey of Batman. I think the Nolan Trilogy focused on Bruce Wayne’s journey, while The Batman focused on (as the name implies) Batman’s journey.
• the sound track, the cinematography, and the overall eerie, horror-esque vibe was.. captivating? It built a distinct atmosphere, a very intentional, intriguing one. I want to find the words that explain this, but I don’t know how, yet. I’ll get there.
You just KNOW my former professors who taught me Cinema Appreciation and Film Analysis are regretting going into the field of education and teaching after seeing me describe this movie is captivating… im sorry ms. aita <2
• Robert Pattinson was a wonderful Batman. I think as a young Bat, and I think I’ll make a post about this soon. I loved the way he plays Bruce, his somewhat detached sense of the world. It’s interesting how much of Batman’s fighting style is kinda brash, but he will avoid violence if he can.
I think Bruce learns over time, how important it is for him to be Bruce Wayne during the day, so the work he does as the Bat actually matters. And I think this story shows us how it happens. It’s not just the mayor talking to him, he see’s it first hand.
• Gotham City and the Bat. I’ve always felt like Gotham city is the biggest reason why Bruce can never stop being the Bat. It’s not just his obsession with justice, vengeance, or his family. Gotham has our emo-bat in a chokehold. I also love the way they show us the city through its people.
Bruce’s faith in the city, and his almost desperate need for it to be better, to be fixed, is the bane of his existence. It is why Bruce will also never be happy, I think, but this I’ll touch on that in my maybe-all-about-Bruce post.
• Maroni and Falcone, and the (wonderful) way they’re written. I think it’s important for Maroni to be taken down at the start of the Bat’s career. Like a little absolute-point in the Bat’s timeline. I like the way they kept him in the story without showing him? It was interesting story telling.
I also think Falcone has to take over when Maroni falls, and Bruce and Falcone need to have a heart to heart, for Bruce to fully transform into the Batman. I think it’s integral to his character but I think it’s also been influenced by my love for the Nolan trilogy (maybe a little by The Long Halloween)
• Selina Kyle a.k.a Catwoman. There is only one thing I didn’t like, and it was the “Falcone is my dad” bit, but I know it’s coming from the comics and just personal preference. Zoe Kravits is easily my favourite Catwoman so far.
I think Annika as a character served as a way for us to see Selina, in the Catwoman. She’s brilliant, she’s so full of love, fiercely loyal and cares so much and so deeply. It’s why Selina and Bruce will work, as a couple and a partnership, if they choose to be partners.
As a whole, he fighting style is also very cat. I love that she used her claws, and whenever she’s beat someone up, there are 2-claw or 3-claw scratches on their face. I think that’s how she fights, in my head? I loved that she acts like a SMOL, helpless baby and then boom-boom tries to kill her biological dad. Let’s GO baby.
I def want to see more of her. I love the way she was written. I know I have more to say. MAN.
• Bruce and Selina, doomed from the get-go but ah, so good. Both of them try so hard - more in the comics, but in this movie you can see how much effort a relationship between the two will take. If they were just Selina and Bruce, they’re perfect.
But for Selina to be “herself”, she needs to be Selina Kyle who is Catwoman. And I would go as far to argue that Bruce is the Batman first, and a Wayne second. Himself, or who he really is around Selina, aren’t always going to be enough for her? Sometimes I think Selina is in love with the Bat, and Batman in love with Selina. The Bat and the Cat were never meant to last. It sucks I love it.
• the Riddler. Well written. I loved the little fucked up dude. I kept waiting for an Edward Nygma thing so it’s E.Nygma, but a Nashton is fine I guess? I like the way he was written, gave me a lot of Incel Reddit boy vibes. I know that nothing in film is a coincidence, these moves aren’t unintentional, and I like it. It’s also made it scarier, in a way. I loved how absolutely fucking eerie this movie was. I have more thoughts about the Riddler, don’t know what they are yet.
• THE JOKER CAMEO AT THE END?! Brilliant. Best kept secret. Marvel wishes they could do this!! The Secret cameo blessed me. I love the way they did it, how this joker interacts with the Riddler, the laughing. It’s either one of two things to me, Batman beat him once, or Jokers just in jail cause he’s bored of being outside and fucking around. (I can’t decide what’s better)
• Thomas and Martha Wayne.. boy, they’re getting a deep dive in the Bruce Wayne post I think. I think there’s a lot to look into here, in like how kids look at their parents, a hero’s fall from grace, a son paying for his fathers sins. Also… I’m not a fan of the whole “Martha Arkham” thing cause where are the Kane’s?? but I don’t know if it’s comic accurate (I tend to forgive things from canon cause I assume there was a reason why, so… that)
…and I think that’s it for now. These are the first few thoughts in my mind. Oh and that Battinson walks so… 🧍‍♂️ like? And that Catwoman’s mask has baby kitten ears and it’s so fucking cute. Yeah, now I’m at the end.

I went to see THE BATMAN (2022)!
Long story short: I loved it!
Tumblr media
Personally, I’m not a huge Batman fan but I do like some things from it, specially the villains and this version portrayed them and Bruce Wayne/ Batman very well.
I really wished I have watched this on its original language (english), I watched it in latin spanish ‘cause I’m from south america and I couldn’t find other date. Which it made a bit confusing the ‘Spanish name’ revelation scene.(For the ones who watched the movie, you know what Spanish name I’m talking about, I’m not saying it here because of spoilers.)
Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader: AWESOME.
Zoe Krvitz as Catwoman: AWESOME.
Paul Dano as Riddler: AWESOME.
Colin Farrell as Penguin: FUCKING AWESOME!
Tumblr media
Not just the make up but his performance is supper funny and engaiging.
He gave me a vibe mixture of Bullseye (Daredevil) and Bobby Pellit (Horrible Bosses), he’s having the time of his life playing this role and I cannot wait to see him in his spin-off series.
Oh and also, there were people worried that Farrell will be barely in it, just like the actor said in interviews. He’s obviously not the main villain but he’s not barely, at least that’s how I felt it.

Funeral 3-Bruce Wayne x Reader x Edward Nashton
A/N: This will be the final part of this series, so I decided to write two endings. One where you choose Ed and the other Bruce, I decided to do this since it'll be fun and you can choose with whatever ending you want. There are many references to previous Batman movies, etc. Maybe you can spot a few? It maybe took almost 3 hours to write all this, so you are getting different endings depending who you choose😙
Thanks to everyone who appreciated my writing and this series, but let's all pray for Robert Pattinson to get better since he was confirmed to have the virus and maybe couldve infected someone else. I just hope he recovers and nothing else happens🙏

I re-read the small note and took a seat down and felt my hands shake. "Ed is the guy doing all of this?" People now have been naming him the Riddler, so does this mean that he placed those bodies there on purpose, knowing that I would probably be the only one to figure it out.
If so then why would he simply let me look closely at the evidence and took the rest away without me noticing. Bruce needs to know!
I raced to the door and took a bobby pin I had in my hair and began to fiddle with it inside the locked doorknob, the door easily opened and as quietly as I could I ran out of the manor in hope of searching for Bruce.
Right when I started to run down the streets I stopped in front of a museum and noticed Bruce was in his finest suit with a date beside him. And here I thought he was investigating the murders.
Bruce and I made eye contact and he quickly looked away, disappointment written all over his face when he noticed my presence amongst the crowd. I shoved the evidence inside my purse, deciding to not tell him about anything, instead I walked past him and into the art museum.
People started to fill the museum but it was only because the famous Bruce Wayne was here. "Can you tell us what are your future plans for Gotham?" Someone asked him.
"I want to make the streets of Gotham a safe place, not just for the rich and poor. I am planning on making Arkham into a safe place for it's many patients, they may be criminals but they shouldn't he treated as animals. I want justice for everyone." Bruce has always been the one to come up with the perfect answer.
Many people awed at his response and continued to ask some other questions. "Can you tell us anything regarding, (Y/N) (L/N)? How's your relationship with them? Is is true that you both to be engaged?"
Bruce smiled to himself and looked at the crowd. "No comments."
I glared back at him and felt my heart break. After all the pain we've been through, he still refuses to be the same. If only people knew he has two sides...
I stepped closer to the huge art gallery and furrowed my eyebrows when I saw the whole place a mess, several riddles were either painted in red paint or blood.
'NO MORE LIES'
'LET'S PLAY A GAME, JUST YOU AND ME'
'IF YOU ARE JUSTICE, PLEASE DO NOT LIE, WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR YOUR BLIND EYE?'
Those messages written all over the white walls with several images of the dead mayor on display. I heard the group coming closer and they all gasped when they entered the room.
Bruce looked over to me with a blank expression then looked around the room. "What are you doing in here?" He whispered when he stepped closer and looked at the statue with tape around its head.
"That's none of your concern.."
"It is if you are living under my roof. You believe yourself to be like Sherlock Holmes? Do you think detective work is easy? It is not, (Y/N). What I..What we are dealing here may be a terrorist."
I looked back at him confused when he grabbed my shoulder to make me look up at him. "I want you out.." he rolled his eyes when I gave him a questioning look.
"I want you out of my house and life. I'm Bruce Wayne and I cannot keep looking after you when you get into trouble, I have too much things in my hands."
I pushed him away when he leaned closer and just when I was about to respond a bomb went outside of the building and the entire place began to shake when it did.
Right when it happened the police showed up "GCPD! I want everyone in this building out!"
It seemed that they were called in the moment someone saw this room. Police came here to prevent everyone from walking in, from the police tape they had in their hands. Everyone began freaking out.
Bruce who was by my side began running out of the room, leaving me alone. Police began escorting everyone inside but I noticed something under the statue, so I ran over and opened the envelope.
From the looks of it, this was supposed to be found by either the police or Bruce. I stared at the strange symbol on it..it's an owl. The room began to fill up with gas bombs that were thrown to the ground.
I was about to run out when someone grabbed my arm and pulled me towards them. I didn't push the person away, I ran with them to the backdoor to the museum and we reached an alley and began climbing some stairs and jumping some buildings that werent that far from one another.
The person opened up the window to a place and entered, I slowly followed and saw the place. This whole building is abandoned so it's clear the police won't be entering at a place like this.
"Are you okay?"
"Ed? Y-Yeah i'm fine..."
I replied to him and noticed his stare on me. He was wearing gloves, dark pants, black boots, a dark green coat, his glasses stuck to what seemed like a mask made with duct tape. To not leave any sort of evidence behind.
He slowly peeled the mask off of him and placed his glasses back on his face, "I knew I'd find you there. You're an easy person to track."
"Is that a good thing or bad thing?" I ask as I made my way to a bed and sat down.
"A bad thing.." he took his gloves off and placed them where the mask was and he sat on a couch in front of me. "If you're a criminal you can't leave any evidence behind. Now that we've properly met, you can call me Riddler."
I nervously picked at the ends of my coat and refused to meet his dark eyes. So I was right all along. He does work for the police, that way no one can suspect he's the killer. A killer is always present at their own crime scene.
"I knew right from the start that you never worked for the GCPD. Don't worry I won't harm you." Ed quietly said and I nodded my head. "Did you find the note?"
I nodded my head again and showed it to him. He smiled and leaned back into his seat, "We are known as The Court of Owls. They are highly dangerous and I am here doing my job at exposing at them."
"Why would you expose your own team?" I ask now 100% more confused than before.
"They are Gotham's elite. The most powerful families of Gotham have joined them for centuries, the rich lie, so I am to expose the truth. Bruce Wayne's parents, Thomas and Marths were a part of this..and so yours.."
I stood up from my seat and glared at Ed. I have always defended my family and will continue to do so-
"I know what you're thinking of, 'How can my family have done this?' 'This isn't true, they were good people'...(Y/N)..they never were."
"Edward..stop.."
"You're parents died when you were only 16. They were headed to a meeting when they were ambushed by cars and were shot multiple times. They were planning on leaving The Court, but those people heard their plans and ended their lives, just because they wanted you safe..."
I looked away and began to silently cry on my spot. "So does this mean that I was just another pawn in your game? Edward?"
Ed stayed silent so I looked at him and he blankly stared back. "Yes." Fuck! My breathing began to quicken and I felt helpless for trusting him.
"I was just going to use you, you played my games and solved my small riddles. But after I saw you easily finding the answers to all those things..well I changed my mind. I had my eye on you for a while, I'll admit I am a cold and cruel person but when we were together I felt different. I didn't feel like The Riddler, I felt like Edward Nashton."
Ed slowly walked towards me being careful to not trigger mt emotions any longer. "I apologize for thinking of you otherwise, but know this, if you want to stay we'll avenge your families death..and I'll need you to find out who this Batman is.."
I stood still and felt him stop right in front of me. Ed slowly lifted my chin up and wiped my tears. "You shouldn't keep crying for someone who doesn't love you back." He knew I was also thinking about
Bruce. To be honest..I know who Batman is but I decided to not tell Ed. I may hate Bruce but I cannot do this to him.
Ed rested his hand behind my neck and quickly leaned down and captured my lips. It took me a few seconds to process what was happening, but I quickly returned the kiss and pushed him against the bed. We continued to kiss while we heard the police sirens behind the building.

*****Bruce's ending****
Tumblr media
I re-read the small note and took a seat down and felt my hands shake. "Who is doing this?" People now have been naming him the Riddler, the person who's been doing these crimes. How did this get into my purse? What happened to
Ed?
This is important evidence. Bruce needs to know!
"Alfred!" I continued shouting his name and pounding the door with my fists not caring if they might bruise. "God damn this fancy ass butler." I cursed and the door immediately opened when I said those things.
The butler raised an eyebrow staring at me still. "Master Wayne has just left, if you head over to the art museum you might catch up with him."
"Alfred, you're the best! I reached his shoulder and planted a kiss on his cheek and began to run down the halls almost falling due to how slippery they can be.
If I catch up with him he might listen to me this time. He knows that if I continue to pressure him, he'll end up listening, he always does depsite how much of an gloomy asshole he can be.
I reached the famous museum and almost fell down the stairs since I ran out of breath. Many people surrounded me, the press, other rich families and many women swooning over the only Wayne son.
"Bruce..Bruce!" I choked on my words and tried to regain my breathe.
"It seems like the famous (Y/N) has joined us this evening." I heard someone announce. As soon as they did all cameras were on me and people began taking pictures.
"(Y/N)! Is is true that you and Bruce are to be married soon?!" I was looking at the press confused still kneeling on the stairs when Bruce ran over to my side and picked me up.
Everyone began to go insane with their cameras when Bruce came and held me close to him, shielding me from the cameras when they wouldn't stop flashing those bright lights on us. The girl who I assumed was Bruce's date to this event lookes offended when we walked past her and Bruce didn't even cared to apologize.
We pulled aside where no one was around. He rolled his eyes when I kept on exagerrating with how tired I was. "Will you stop with the exagerration and tell me why you followed me."
"Alfred let me out and I am not exagerrating." I regained my breathing and noticed Bruce was still holding me. I felt my face go red so in less than a second, Bruce pushed himself away from me.
"That man keeps refusing on the orders I keep giving him." He sighed out annoyed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Okay..I'm here, what is so important?"
I opened up my purse and showed him the bit of evidence I had. "It's not just that. I think the killer is playing us, I noticed that the bodies back there didn't connect with how they were murdered."
Bruce stayed silent and examined the things he held. "How did you get this?" He asked instead and furrowed his eyebrows together, seeming confused to how I got this.
"I read a lot of Sherlock Holmes, you should know that. Remember you always said-"
"I want to become the world's greatest detective." Hs finished saying and he hid the evidence in his pocket.
"We should't talk about this right now. I'll be done in a couple of hours, you should wait for me-" Bruce stopped when he saw my blank reaction.
"I can't keep doing this, Bruce. Staying locked inside your home until you arrive late." I sincerely told him and saw his expression soften just a little.
"It's your home too, (Y/N)."
Bruce stared down at me for a few seconds and slightly leaned down and I stepped back confused, but when I did a bomb went out and we ran to the other art room. The place seemed massacred, there was letters or riddles written on the walls with paint..or I do hope its paint.
Another bomb went out and everyone began running to the exits, this made me lose my balance and I fell to the floor and saw Bruce was no where in sight. The ceiling began to shake a bit and third bomb went out right outside the window.
I raised my arms up to my face to block the shards of glass from hitting my eyes, as soon as I was about to feel the pain I felt someone block me from getting injured.
I slowly opened my eyes and felt my face go red when I noticed it was Batman.Batman quickly stood up and checked to see if I was injured.
"Go outside and stay with the police officer that's looking for you." Without questioning him I did as told and began to run outside but when I did someone held me tight from behind and placed something on me, in less than a minute I was knocked out cold.
*********
Slowly I woke up and remained calm. I looked around my surroundings but it was mostly dark, I moved my hands but found myself being tied to a chair along with my legs and I had tape covering my mouth, preventing me from shouting for help.
I stayed silent and heard footsteps slowly approach me. I glared at the figure when they stepped closer and the man stood still. The man was wearing a dark green coat, with some black gloves and a mask which seemed to be made with duct tape. I couldn't see his face at all.
"It's a shame we have to meet like this." He was the first to speak. He was even hiding his true voice with a modulator. What a clever bastard. The man slowly stepped forward and gripped my chin so I could look at him, even if I couldnt see his eyes clearly through the glasses he was wearing.
"I left your little friend a riddle. I do hope he finds it before this gets out of hand." I tilted my head and he shoved his hand away from me and stood still.
"Do you know why I am doing this?..Oh right you can't talk." The man chuckled and quickly reached forward and yanked the tape off of me. I winced in pain and lowly cursed out at him.
"I figured thay part out, you're after the rich am I right? This is why you targeted me. You want to get rid of the rich families in Gotham." The Riddler nodded his head.
"You're a smart one, (L/N). It is truly a shame someone like you can't see the truth. Let's play a game just me and you." He knelt down and showed me a phone."GCPD are on the other line. I call them and they'll start searching for you, thing is will they arrive here on time before this whole building explodes? Let's see if the Batman arrives on time."
I looked around and noticed I was surrounded by tanks of gasoline. "If you survive you'll give the bat a little surprise." Riddler said shoving something inside my coat and he stood up and showed me a match already lit up.
"Don't worry, (Y/N). Say hello to the big guy for me." He threw the match and with that he left the building. I shouted for help but only heard some more shouting on the other line of the phone which was thrown onto the ground.
"GCPD will be arriving in no time!" Was all I could hear. I began trashing around and I began yanking my right hand out of the tight tape. I breathed in and out rapidly when I had no choice but to break my hand for it to pass through.
In a hurry but carefully I placed the bone back in and began to tear the tape from my other hand along with the ones on my ankles.I noticed the fire quickly spreading through out the abandoned building.
The doors are clearly locked so I better jump through the window. I felt weak but I cannot give up! Bruce wouldn't like it.
I got on top of a window and right when I jumped out the fire went out and the whole building exploded and was caught on fire. I was hidden under a few bushes and felt my ears ringing from the impact.
Slowly I got on my knees and noticed the police still weren't here. But then I heard something loud like a motorcycle nearby. I peeked out and saw it was Batman. He stared at the building on fire, he must think I'm dead.
"Bruce!" I shouted. Batman quickly looked over and spotted me. In a hurry he ran over to me and protectively wrapped his arms around me.
"(Y/N)..you're safe." He muttered.
Thankfully it was just the two fo us here. Bruce held my shoulders tight and looked at me, both concernd and surprised. "How long have you known?"
"I started putting some pieces together..all those nights you weren't home? You thought I was asleep when I wasn't. Don't worry no one will know." I assured him.
Bruce blankly stared down at me. "You're so stupid." He again wrapped his arms around me and I hugged him back.
"You'll die or a heart attack sooner or later 'cause of me." I chuckle. Bruce didn't say anything instead he glared down at me and quickly leaned down to kiss my lips.
***********
"We'll be fine, Alfred." Bruce lowly muttered. He was exhausted, angry, upset that all of this happened to him. When the GCPD arrived we were informed that other people were inside the abandoned building where I was, they were unconcious which was the reason why I never heard them.
Bruce blamed himself for this. Alfred tried to say otherwise but Bruce..is Bruce. Alfred could only nod and left the hideout where we were in below Wayne manor, or how I began calling it 'the bat cave'.
I said nothing and remained quiet along with Bruce. The files and images were scattered across a table with Bruce deep in thought while the same audio kept playing over and over again.
"You're a part of this too."
"How am I part of this?"
"You'll find out..."
The Riddler's voice said. Turns out the thing he had shoved into my pocket was this, the audio which was to be delivered by me to Batman. Bruce seemed tired, his black makeup around his face was still on and he didn't feel like himself.
"If it makes you feel any better..that suit makes you look hot." I teased trying to make this situation a bit lighter. I frowned when I got no reaction from him.
I stepped closer to him since he seemed so deep in his thoughts. With my good hand I reached over and held his globed hand, I leaned my head over his shoulder. Bruce slowly did the same but remained silent, only squeezing my hand a bit tighter to make sure I was real and still alive next to him.

Opinion: DC and Marvel’s Multiverses Are Crucial To The Future of Superhero Film
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, buckle up kids, this is going to be a long one. Get some soda and some popcorn, or some green tea and avocado toast.
Back in the long-distant year of 1989, a little film called Batman released into theaters and became the film of the Summer. Directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson as Batman and the Joker respectively, it was a cinematic triumph that heralded a new wave of superhero films taking their source material seriously. Followed up in 1992 by Batman Returns, a sequel which increased the fantastic elements but was criticized for its darker tones, Batman’s role in movies was cemented in place by continued success. Of course, Keaton and Burton would leave to be replaced by Val Kilmer as Batman with Joel Schumacher directing for 1995′s Batman Forever, with George Clooney stepping into the cape and cowl for 1997′s Batman and Robin, a wild disaster of a film which nearly destroyed Batman’s chances in movies. But then, in 2005, Christopher Nolan brought a gritty realism to the caped crusader in Batman Begins, and continued this successful experiment with 2008′s Best Film Of The Year, The Dark Knight, and 2012′s The Dark Knight Rises (which was....fine). By this time the DCEU was beginning to get started, so a new Batman was cast for Zack Synder’s 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and this role went to Ben Affleck. He reprised the role in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad and Joss Whedon’s Justice League, but bowed out of the opportunity to write and direct his own solo Bat-flick. So director Matt Reeves was tapped to direct a new Batman film starring a controversial choice of Robert Pattinson as Batman. With all of this, the question of the past 30-odd years is: which is your favorite Batman? Which one was the best? And how do these films fit into an increasingly convoluted canon in which a film series is rebooted every ten years or so?
What if the answer is: they’re all great and they all fit into canon?
Now, before we think too hard about that, let’s take a look at Spider-Man’s cinematic installments, which is almost more convoluted and in a more compressed amount of time. Beginning with 2002′s Spider-Man directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire, the amazing wall-crawler enjoyed a fantastic amount of success on the big screen, followed up by one of the best superhero films of all time, 2004′s Spider-Man 2. But Spider-Man 3 in 2007 took all of that goodwill and smashed it into the ground with a failure almost as bad as Batman and Robin a decade earlier. Plans for a Spider-Man 4 were scrapped, and eventually in 2012 director Mark Webb and star Andrew Garfield would bring a brand new Spidey to life with The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014. Both films were lively and energetic, but criticized for trying to stuff too much into their films -- especially the second one. Sony Pictures was attempting to ramp up a cinematic universe much like Marvel Films was doing at the time, but it was too much too fast. 2017 brought another reboot of the moviefilm version of Spidey, this time directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, with Spider-Man: Homecoming, this time under Marvel Film’s banner (thanks to backdoor dealing), and another cinematic triumph in 2019′s Spider-Man: Far From Home. But, unlike Batman, Spider-Man’s dealings behind the scenes are nearly as convoluted as his series. Sony Pictures owned the rights to make Spider-Man flicks for years, until Marvel managed to make a ludicrous offer after Amazing 2 failed to catch on the way producers hoped. So Spidey came to the MCU under a joint production, which is how we got Homecoming and Far From Home, but also maintained a different universe with the Amazing films, and then 2018′s Venom, and a little animated motion picture also in 2018 by the name of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
Class, this is where I would like to direct your attention to the origin of the extraordinary events we are discussing today. Or is it the origin?
Into The Spider-Verse successfully proved that not only is the idea of multiple universes all connecting on screen a good idea, it’s an Oscar winning idea. Spider-Verse is hands down the best animated superhero film ever, and one of the best superhero films period. But here we must take note of certain ideas. The film provided much setup for a world where young Miles Morales begins to emerge with spider powers, but then Spider-Man is killed right in front of him before he can learn how to use them. Enter a Spider-Man from a slightly different parallel dimension, who not only turns Miles around, but find himself inspired to realign his own life. Spider-people abound through the film, all of them having equal weight and the possibility of spawning their own franchise without having to worry about impacting the canon of other universes. This is something comic books have done for literal decades, but Spider-Verse did it with such care and devotion that it won Best Animated Picture and became a mainstream smash hit. Marvel and Sony both sit up at attention; could this work with the major mainstream films they’ve been producing? So the experiment begins: we have a teaser trailer for Morbius, based on a vampiric Spider-Man villain, which features a cameo from the Vulture character first seen in Homecoming. And after dropping hints that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could cross over with Tom Hardy’s Venom, Jamie Foxx recently posted about being cast as Electro -- a role he played in Amazing Spider-Man 2 -- for the third Tom Holland Spidey flick. Pictures went up on his Instragram seeming to confirm that not only was this the same Electro, but that all three previous Spider-Men -- Maguire, Garfield, and Holland -- would team up for the film. Multiple universes collide, a live action Spider-Verse, where everyone is crossing over with each other. Now, this lines up perfectly with Marvel’s MCU plans, as Doctor Strange has established in his film that multiple universes exist, and his announced sequel is even titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It’s here. It’s happening. Every Spider-Man film is canon, they’ve all happened, and we don’t need to worry about which of them make sense or belong. They all make sense.
But just before this announcement, a month or so ago DC let slip that their plans for an upcoming Flash movie are taking cues from the Flashpoint comic books, in which Barry Allen goes back in time and accidentally creates a brand new timeline that he has to correct. Michael Keaton has even been cast as Bruce Wayne, the same Bruce Wayne that he played 30-odd years ago, a casting choice many fans have been clamoring for for years. On top of that, once word was put out that Keaton’s role would be similar to Samuel L. Jackson’s role as Nick Fury in the MCU, Ben Affleck was reported to be joining the picture as Batman also, a team-up no one saw coming. Even Christian Bale is being courted to join the universe-spanning flick, but reportedly only if director Christopher Nolan gives his blessing. Multiple Batmen teaming up together in a Flash movie to combat crime? Of course I’ve already bought tickets. Batman is the biggest box-office draw outside of The Avengers. And this concept opens up plenty of opportunities for DC, who’ve done Elseworlds stories in the comic for years. Joker with Joaquin Phoenix proved that DC films not directly tied to the DCEU can and will do well on their own; The Batman with Pattinson will no doubt further confirm that. But now Batman Returns is once again a viable film mixed into a comic book cocktail of wonder and excitement? And what’s wonderful is that this isn’t DC’s first big attempt at this. Slowly and surely, The CW’s Arrowverse TV shows -- Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow -- have been doing multiverse crossovers for years, building up to 2019′s mega-event Crisis on Infinite Earths, which saw Brandon Routh reprise his role as Superman from 2006′s Superman Returns, which itself is a sequel to Christopher Reeve’s Superman and Superman II. And for one wonderful scene, TV’s Flash, Grant Gustin, got to interact with the DCEU’s Flash, Ezra Miller, confirming that these TV and film universes are indeed one big cocktail of parallel lives and dimensions that all interconnect while still being separate. Hell, we even saw Burt Ward, Robin from the 1966 Batman show, alive and well an in his own little world. Batman ‘66 is part of the wider DC Multiverse! How crazy is that? And we even got a small tease that Batman ‘89 is part of all of this as well, when we got to see reporter Alexander Knox look up to the Batsignal in the sky as Danny Elfman’s iconic score played. In one fell swoop, in as few as a casual couple of cameos, DC made all of their live-action properties canon in the multiverse, meaning no matter which version you like the best, they all work together and work from a franchising and audience standpoint. The 1978 Superman and the 1989 Batman both existed in worlds that ran sidecar to 2019′s Joker and 2011′s Green Lantern. It’s wild, unprecedented in cinematic history, and wonderful for fans of all ages.
Why is this the future of superhero flicks, though? It ought to be simple: no matter what movies come out, no matter how wild or crazy or outside “canon” they seem to be, they all can work and they all can coexist without having to confuse fans. Many people were feeling the reboot fatigue as early as 2012′s Amazing Spider-Man, and while there was a huge tone shift between Batman Returns and Batman Forever, the Bat-films were considered all part of the same line until Batman Begins started all the way over. Now we have Batman 89 and Returns in one world, Forever and Batman and Robin in another (which was already a fan theory, mind you). Sequels that don’t line up with their predecessors can just be shunted into a hidden multiverse timeline and left alone without the convoluted explanation of having to “ignore” certain sequels. Superman III & IV were ignored when Superman Returns chose to connect only to the first and second films, but now we can say that they definitely happened....just somewhere else. There is now a freedom of ideas and creation that can once again occur when making big-budget films based on superheroes. No longer do creative minds need to be restrained to the canon and timeline and overarching plots defined by studios years in advance; “creative differences” don’t need to drive frustrated directors away from characters or stories they truly love. Possibly -- just possibly -- good ideas can become the gold standard once again for comic book films, not just ten-year plans for how to get Captain America from scrawny Marine to Mjolnir-wielding badass. Remember when filmmakers decided to make Joker the same person who killed Bruce Wayne’s parents? Or when they decided to give Spider-Man the ability to shoot webs from his body instead of technology? That certainly wouldn’t fly these days; studio mandates would require adherence to previously established guidelines, or at least what has been seen in the comic. What if now we could get a three-episode limited series on HBO Max of Gotham By Gaslight? Or a big-budget adaptation of Marvel’s 1602? Simply trying to wedge old comic book storylines into existing Cinematic Universes no longer need be a thing! We could get some of the wildest interpretations of superheroes this side of Superman: Red Son. At least, that’s the hope, anyway.
When comic books can step away from canon for just a few minutes, worlds open up and expand. An entire multiverse of ideas can become a feast of entertainment for many. And when there’s already so many beautiful, well-told stories set in alternate universes as comic book precedent, so too can there be beautiful, well-told stories set in alternate universes for film. And the best part? Now they all matter. And I think that’s the future.
