‼️TOH s3 spoilers and tw for child abuse‼️
yknow what really small detail from ‘thanks to them’ just breaks my heart?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it’s this. hunter says “that throne room”.
“that”
not “the throne room”, THAT throne room.
he refers to the throne room in the castle the same way people who have had a traumatic experience (especially abuse victims) refer to where it took place. like when people who were abused as children talk about how they remember being in “that house” instead of “the house” when talking about their childhood residence.
obviously hunter was abused by belos, that’s not news, and the show has always had his behavior and mannerisms reflect that. but something about him saying “that throne room” just hurts to hear.
you can tell just from that one sentence that he experienced so much pain at belos’ hand in that throne room over the years.

I just saw someone post really cool fanart that they made of dorlily (which is dorcas and lily if you didn't know) and someone in the comments said "when did we start shipping dorcas and lily? I'm lost" and it made me really think about how this fandom, the marauders fandom spesifically, has this sort of hive mindset. It's like every opinion must be collective or favoured by a large majority. "when did WE start shipping" someone posted a fanart of a ship they like. it is not a WE matter. it is a them matter and has nothing to do with you, so what does that even mean. And I think this hive mentality really contributes to how toxic this fandom has become, why its so hard for people to accept headcanons without criticizing the creators for having those headcanons, why there's constant unnecessary ship wars. we all do not need to agree. we all do not need to have the same opinions in this fandom, in fact its making the situation worse. i am begging you all to start thinking about how to behave in fandom spaces.

I love how Taylor Swift's music is just so timeless (no pun intended) like what do you mean her debut album was released almost 20 years ago? Her discography is just so relevant and timely that even the songs she wrote from the first few years of her career still feels so fresh and new. They don't even sound like time has passed. They are just there, existing, and making us happy regardless of how long ago a certain Taylor era has been. But despite this, some of her songs still make me feel nostalgic. That's her magic.

I don't think we all truly understand just how important Max was to Gus.
Gus and Hector both believed in "blood for blood" (Or, at least it's just Gus wanting to get back at Hector the way he believed was "fair". Point still stands either way), which means kinda the same thing as "an eye for an eye" - a punishment equal in kind to the offense. Not greater, nor any less.
So, naturally, that would have meant that the punishment for Max's murder would be either the death of Hector, or the person closest to him. But that wasn't the case for Gus.
Gus literally took each and every person Hector knew and loved away from him as revenge. One person was not enough, nor only Hector. Max was so important to Gus, that he believed Max's life, the life of one person, was worth the lives of each and every cartel man/Salamanca together, which make up probably more, or even way more, than 10.
In order for the revenge to be "fair", Gus had to weigh everything on a scale, and so Max's life and every other life weighed the same. If he were to remove even one person from the other side of the scale, Max's side would be heavier, and he didn't want that. He wanted Hector to suffer just like he did. And so, Gus believed that if he were to kill every person close to Hector, only then will Hector suffer like Gus did when he took Max from him.
I cannot even stress this enough: For him, for Max, he had to finish off AN ENTIRE CARTEL for the revenge to be fair, for the "blood for blood" to actually apply. Not more, nor any less. He believed his life was worth tenfold than what it did. That's how important Max was to Gus.

Hi, I saw your post about qprs- I assumed with context you meant queerplantonic relationships- could you please explain what those are because I have seen the term before but have no clue what it means. If you do then thank you :)
a queerplatonic relationship is a relationship that falls outside the bounds of "friendship" and "romantic relationship"
and much like a romantic partnership it's something that's generally gotta be discussed (like you usually have to ask someone to be your girlfriend but you don't have to ask her to be your friend). but much like a friendship, the feelings are generally considered to be platonic in nature
it often looks like a relationship with all the devotion that society typically expects from a romantic partnership (ie plans to move in together, get married, maybe even raise children together) but without the sort of romantic passion and kissing and whatnot
HOWEVER not all queerplatonic relationships look like this. they can vary quite a bit! this is just one common example of how they CAN look/work
this is because
1: there's no universal standard for what a romantic relationship looks like vs what a platonic relationship looks like. like, many consider monogamy to be a defining factor of a romantic relationship, but polyamorous people exist. some people say that a romantic relationship is a more serious relationship than friendship, but some people have casual romantic flings or treat their friendships extremely seriously. some say that kissing makes a relationship romantic, but some people kiss their friends. etc
2: different queerplatonic relationships can fall at different points on the spectrum. some look indistinguishable from traditional friendships, some look very romantic to outsiders, some are smack dab in the middle, some take some elements from one and some elements from the other. etc
someone once likened it to how there's no single way to be nonbinary because 1: men and women can experience and express their genders in all sorts of different ways 2: nonbinary people don't all have the same gender, they can fall at all points on the spectrum.
so ultimately it's just defined by how the people in that relationship see it and want to describe it

I just need to know why they didn’t make bloom and aisha each other’s foils instead of retconning icy. Why not have both of them be host for the dragon flame and water stars perspectively. Like yea bloom and icy could’ve still been hero/villain foils but hero/hero foils is where it’s at, the dragon flame and water star aren’t supposed to exist in the same dimension as each other like they could have learn to co-exist as friends and as host who are hosting being who hate each other and could destroy not only each other but the the whole magic dimension. It could’ve been another reason why Aisha’s parents kept her in the castle because they didn’t know where or who had the dragon flame after domino got wiped out or if bloom got safely away. It would’ve been so interesting. Small update to add on some more ideas

It’s alright! If I may ask, do you know what type of things you will be exploring? :0 also also, do you know if it will stay in the ‘ninja turtle’ fandom or whatever, or if it’ll branch off into original works or other things? :D
uhh it'll stay TMNT because that's where my brain is at rn and people tend to like fanworks more than original works. And the thing I'm branching out to is less the genre and more how I write. I do not do the 'show not tell' thing well, and so February is going to be non-yandere oneshots of me attempting to dive deeper into emotions and body language and such. And the reason I'm doing non-yan is because I feel it's easier for me to transfer that from the more 'fluffy' oneshots to the yandere ones than vice versa. Also I have like negative non-yan oneshots and it makes me annoyed because I want it to be even so I can make things suited to more people than this one niche subgenre.

it’s not that you have to ship byler. idc if you don’t ship them, it’s just a lot of the comments against them dating is always “it wouldn’t make sense”, “it’s too soon”, “mike has never shown any interest in will; he loves el!!”. and the thing is, is that if will was a girl most of these people wouldn’t feel this way. they would’ve been shipping mike and will from the very beginning. they’d acknowledge all the signs pointing towards will and mike having a crush on each other. the scene where mike can’t tell el he loves her? yeah, it wouldn’t be “well he can’t say it because his parents don’t say i love you”, it would be “it’s because mike loves will! can’t wait to see them together!” i just know for a fact there’d be a different energy if will was a girl because we’ve seen will + mike’s dynamic in other shows where will’s character would be a girl and people always end up shipping that couple. i just think there’s another layer to some of these comments against byler and that people are clearly uncomfortable seeing a relationship like this because in their mind, due to media portraying gay people in a stereotypical way and homophobia, mike and will don’t fit the stereotype they’ve been spoon fed. this is why i also believe byler is an important ship because its a different approach to a gay love story. stranger things is one of the most popular shows in the world. having two of the main male characters in a relationship with each other would be such good representation. so many of us are tired of queerbaiting, stereotypes, and tragedy. the lgbtqia+ community deserves good love stories and byler is one.

Hi may I ask what hyper light drifter is about? I could obviously just search it up but it's more fun to ask the mutual who's obsessed with it
Ooghh YEAH!!!
Hyper Light Drifter is a visually STUNNING top down pixel art game, I like to joke about it being a bullet hell, I've seen some people call it a hack and slash? I'm not sure what categories it falls into but it has fun, pretty fast, but challenging combat
The story is told through the environment, and characters only ever speak to you through images, meaning the only two "readable" texts there really are happen to be monoliths you can find, but have to translate using a cypher thing, or the instructions in the beginning
Essentially you play as a drifter, a type of person in this world who tends to wander and therefore be subjected to the dangers that live in this seemingly post apocalyptic but regrowing landscape, most people call the protagonist The Drifter, but there are other drifters too
The Drifter is plagued by a chronic illness, causing them to cough up blood, which seems to be caused by this looming shadow figured called judgement that appears in either visions or hallucinations
Your goal as the drifter is to explore this land and eventually find the thing that has been tormenting you, and face judgement
Along the way you find remnants of the people that used to live in the north, south, east, and west, and learn what happened to those people. The tragedies that befell them

Admit you already are.
If you are trying to become someone, because you understand that means you will be the person who has your desire, then guess what. You already are admitting you are the one who has their desire. Think about it. To try to get, means you secretly, implicitly know that you are capable of being the person who has it. Otherwise, why put in the hard work and the effort to try and attain it? If you truly did not think you were capable of being that person, you simply would not even try. You know you can become it. Let’s accept this first.
Let’s take this a step further. That means you already are it. You already are that person. You’re making the mistake of trying to become it instead of realising you already ARE it. It is about self realisation. It is simply that easy! You realise you already are that person - that is how you change self. You gently accept you already are it.
Example: I understand, with loa, that I can be with sp. I accept that and try to become the person who has that sp. This hard work and effort indicates to me that I know I can become that person, I have the potential within me to become irresistible, loved, chosen, valued. That’s why I am trying, no? Otherwise if I truly believed i cannot be chosen or valued, why would i even try?
INSTEAD -> i understand, with loa, that i already have sp, because creation is finished. If i already have sp, that means i already am the person who is irresistible, loved, chosen and valued. All i must do is realise that and accept that i am. That is all you have to do. And continue living, with that acceptance (being).
Example: i understand, perhaps not even with loa, but in general, that i can go to my dream university. I try and work hard to become the person that the university would accept.
INSTEAD -> why not just skip the trying? If i know that with hard work i can become the intelligent, chosen student - then i must accept that i already know that i am that person. I just haven’t embodied them yet. If i know i can be chosen and intelligent and smart, it means i have critical thinking skills, i work smart, i am good at writing essays, all the stuff, already! I just need to realise this, and tap into that.
Having it indicates who you are. You do not become to have.
Say my mother walks into my room right now and says she bought me a new iPhone, and it’s waiting for me downstairs (i now have an iPhone). At first instinct, what do i do? I accept i have a new iPhone. Then, questions may arise such as: why? Since when? How? What for?
All of these questions, i first answer internally (without realising, sometimes) and the answers depend on my self concept. ‘Oh, because i am cherished and my mother loves spoiling me! Awh it doesn’t matter when, i am grateful she went out of her way to surprise me. I am so loved and spoiled, that’s what for!’ Something along the lines of that in whatever way you think. I don’t literally say these in my head. Not all the time at least. Sometimes i just feel that about myself.
The how, when and why does not matter since i already now have this iPhone. I just quickly feel whatever i feel about those questions, and then in imagination enjoy the feeling of having an iPhone. I may begin to imagine using it, what my friends will say about it, what lockscreen I’m gonna use, how fancy I’d feel with it! I’m already onto the next, while feeling gratitude for my mother for gifting me it.
How to apply this in daily life? -> gentle acceptance.
If i say to myself that i have my sp. It means i already have it. Say my sp walks into the room right now and says ‘I love you. Dinner tonight at 8?’ At first instance I’d just accept that i have my sp in love with me, and i am going on a date with him, because he wants to be with me! Then, questions may arise. And I’d feel the answers within based on my self concept. ‘If I’ve been asked on a date, and i am with my sp now, then it simply must mean i am irresistible! I am wanted, valued and chosen.’ I do not fight them, do i? Because it has happened - sp is mine. It would be silly to contradict myself. Instead, i gently accept these about me.
NOW. The example of my mother walking into the room, and my sp asking me out: YOU DO THIS IN THE 4D! This is what going to the end mean, and accepting you have your end, IN THE 4D. Then, accept that this already means you must be loved, chosen and valued ALREADY. IT ALREADY IS SO. I do not first BECOME loved to be asked out or spoiled. I simple AM loved and spoiled already within, which is why i have these things! Once i accept it already has HAPPENED - I live enjoying it with gratitude.
GO TO THE END, IF U HAVE A DESIRE - THAT MEANS YOU ALREADY HAVE IT. AND IF YOU ALREADY HAVE IT, GENTLY ACCEPT THAT YOU ALREADY ARE THE PERSON WHO HAS IT. YOU ALREADY ARE.

Hi, I saw your post while browsing the tags. Can you elaborate on what the "Starscream Problem" is? I'm new to the fandom, sorry
Don't worry, it's a term i made up on this blog
What I refer to as the "Starscream Problem" is how both canon and fanon have preference for putting him through abuse over many other characters.
Starscream is often the subject of homophobia and transmisogeny thanks to him being queer coded since the beginning, and of all the things in g1 that canon stuck to its Megatron mistreating Starscream (often framed in a joking manner). This is why many people heavily dislike the Megastar ship, as it's primarily seen as an abuser/victim ship. I am sure I am not the only person to have noticed this, but because of the canonical abuse people seem more willing to add more and more onto this. The fandom can get really mean towards Starscream in an almost casual way, and while it's gotten much better in the last few years you can definitely tell it's still here.

Hi, I just saw you posting about Sandman, and I have noone to talk to about it, so I might as well ask you: what do you think about the choice to make the Endless.... how can I say this... skin-coloured? I remember liking a lot how even though the comic was in colour, the Endless were always purely black and white, I thought it was a very cool way to make them subtly inhuman. What do you think? do you think it could have been done in a TV series? Do you think it would have been a good choice? Do you have theories about why they didn't?
Disclaimer: I haven't read the entire series. I wanted to, because the story and the characters and the universe are really good, but I have a weak stomach and the Corinthian was too much for me. So if it's a change that was made in the comics later, I'm sorry for the wrong opinion.
(Also disclaimer because the world is horrible and I don't want to be suspected of having secondary reasons: I have nothing against Death being Black, Black goths have proven that an all white-and-black aesthetic is not a priviledge of white folks. I just wished they were less flesh coloured.)
Ok, so I am also in the edge zone of "squeamish Sandman fan" so I feel you 100% on that lmao.
I've briefly had discussions with friends more well-read of the comics with regard to the Endless' appearances and the casting, etc., and from a lore standpoint I think it's important to note that the monochrome appearance we see of Death and Dream and the others is basically a visual placeholder -- canonically they look different to everyone who sees them, but this isn't feasible story-wise because it would be confusing for them to change appearance in practically every panel.
Now the VFX degree I haven't been using comes out to discuss the series. Obviously, I don't have insight into the creative processes and decisions being made to adapt the comics for TV, but here's my opinion as someone who understands how this kind of thing works.
Basically, having the Endless be 'human coloured' is going to come down to a time and money issue. No matter what route you take, whether its make-up or visual effects, it's going to be very expensive to paint your main actors black and white in every shot. Doing it practically will require teams of make-up artists and making an actor sit in a chair for hours a day when they could be filming, and that's probably the less expensive option.
Doing it digitally would require rotoscoping every shot featuring the Endless, a process that involves a VFX artist going frame by frame to mask areas they want to change. Done to a professional standard, rotoscoping can take hours just to get to a point where you can start thinking about colour grading. This would increase the series' VFX budget by many times, and that's without taking into account the other effects work that will be going into adapting Sandman.
If you saw the She-Hulk previews, this is why Jen (She-Hulk herself) doesn't really look all that great. Even on an MCU production budget, it's really hard to digitally change an actor's skintone and have them look good, especially when you're working on the incredibly tight deadlines of a TV show (and the budget is a lot lower than if they were making a film to start with). For Sandman, I'm sure the budget is already tighter than would be for an MCU show. Netflix have a lot of money to spend on their productions, but they're not Disney and they're going to have been really cautious with handing out money for this series. Any comics adaptation is expensive, and with Sandman being comparatively less well-known and aimed at adults, they're taking a huge gamble on trying to attract people to this series.
That's my long answer, but to summarise:
The monochrome appearance of the Endless in the comics is a visual stand-in for the fact that canonically everyone who meets them sees them differently.
To do this in the series would be really expensive and time consuming, especially if it was done digitally.
If they had gone with digitally altering the actors' appearances on a TV show's budget and deadlines, they'd probably have turned out looking something like She-Hulk.
Also, if time and money weren't a concern, they had made the Endless monochrome and they looked realistic, can you imagine the response from people on Twitter?
I think it's better overall if they're human coloured honestly.

hi i hate to bring up the riptide thing but im more of a casual battlebots enjoyer and im not very caught up, it looks like they broke the rules in some way? but i dont see anyone explaining how. i mean, im not suprised, i never really liked those guys, but would you mind explaining what they did specifically? im not at all worried about spoliers or anything, i just want to know whats happening yknow? tysmm<3
I can try to explain the best I know how to, but there's always going to be some information missing as I was not there to witness any of this first hand.
It is not confirmed that they were actually cheating or maliciously changing their robot to be more competitive. What they did do, is do something to their robot, that made them look very suspicious. What they claim is that they were just adding a decoration to their robot, which many teams do as a fun thing when they exit in the tunnel. What is not clear is whether they informed production of this. Most teams will tell you that they have to clear any modifications made to their bots with staff, even something as small as a decoration. Of course, Riptide claims that they went through all the right channels, but other teams have claimed that they were doing this without telling production.
And then there's the scales issue. I hate to take Riptide's side here, but many teams have vouched for the fact that one of the scales is funky and gives different readings depending on where the bot is on the scale, etc. So a 1-2 pound difference in reweighing isn't uncommon. I would assume that Riptide just got unlucky here with a different reading, and they didn't have any weird modifications on at the time, especially considering that the later scale-in weighed less than their initial one.
The big problem with all of this is not necessarily what they did to their robot, especially if it's true and it was just a silly decor thing. The issue is their whole attitude surrounding this issue. They were super defensive both at the time, and recently on socials about being asked to be reweighed/tested. It made their team look much more suspicious because most people would be maybe mildly annoyed, but reweigh with no issues because they care about the safety of the sport.

okay I saw your old post talking about if someone wanted too write an fanfic of this au. Has anyone done it? I'm not saying I definitely will but if you wouldn't mind me doing it I might consider it. I wanted too see if anyone has done it and if anyone hasn't if you'd still be okay with someone doing it?
If anyone has already written one, I haven’t seen it. But yeah I don’t mind if anyone makes a fanfic, or any kind of fan content for that matter. I say go for it! I love love love seeing fan stuff. And if you do end up making a fic and you have any questions about the AU that would help write it, I’d be happy to answer

[I couldn’t help but notice the tag on your latest post.
What does “unreality” mean?]
It’s basically a warning for anything that is imaginary, illusory, or unrealistic.
So, if I were I say “I’m in your walls” you would want to tag that with unreality because those with bad anxiety (ex: me) might think you are being serious. Same with stuff like “reblog this or you will [insert bad thing happening].” It’s to help state that this is fiction, not reality.
At least, that’s my definition of it? If someone else who can explain it better wants to, please feel free to correct me
