arrival
Tumblr media Tumblr media
alexia x r - mila verse :) the arrival of little baby mila. talk of pregnancy and giving birth, obviously.
You hated being pregnant. Some women, you knew, loved it. You were not one of those people. You felt humongous, everything hurt all the time, you felt sick most of the time, and more than anything, you just wanted to meet your baby girl. You were excited to give birth, if for no other reason than finally getting to be done being pregnant.
And it wasn’t that you thought labor would be easy, not at all. You were just very sure you could handle it. If it meant getting your baby to you safely, you could do it.
You didn’t consider that maybe your body wouldn’t be able to do it, or that your baby wouldn’t cooperate either. No, you naively thought you were past the stage where there could be complications. Labor would be difficult, you were sure, but it would be over and done after a couple of hours. You had nothing to worry about. That was what you thought.
-------
You were in the shower when your water broke, which was actually really lucky. No mess to clean up, and you could finish your shower before heading to the hospital.
“Ale!” You shouted, turning the water off briefly to hear your wife’s footsteps running down the hall towards you.
“Are you okay?” Alexia asked, bursting into the bathroom, looking around frantically.
You were completely calm when you responded, knowing that if you panicked, Alexia would panic. “I’m fine. My water broke. I’m gonna finish washing my hair, can you get the bag ready? And bring me some clothes?”
“Your… you… it is…. tiempo de bebe?” Alexia spluttered, looking shocked, as if you hadn’t been pregnant for 9 months.
“Yes, Ale, baby time.” You smiled, turning the water back on and continuing to rinse your hair out.
Alexia turned toward the door and then back to you at least 3 times before she seemed to get a handle on herself, taking a deep breath, and yanking the shower door back open.
“Amor, we need to go! Get out, get out, you cannot give birth here, it is not clean!”
You rolled your eyes, turning off the water and holding your hand out for your towel. Alexia misunderstood, grabbing your hand with both of hers, eyes wide.
“My towel, babe.” Your wife nodded her head rapidly, grabbing your towel and carefully wrapping it around you. She was practically bouncing up and down as you took your time getting out of the shower and began to dry off. “Alexia. The bag. Clothes. Vamos, there is a person inside of me that wants to get out.”
“Sí, sí,” Alexia said, rushing out of the bathroom. She’d only made it a few feet before you heard a crash in the hall, one that sounded like she’d tripped over her own feet.  “Estoy bien!” She shouted, confirming that she had, in fact, tripped.
You shook your head, not sure whether to laugh or cry, knowing you needed to step in before her poor head exploded. She returned with clothes for you to pull on, watching anxiously as you did so, to ensure you didn’t need help. Once you were dressed, she turned to go grab the hospital bag, but you stopped her before she could get very far.
“Ale, ven aquí,” you called. Your wife turned back towards you, forehead wrinkling with worry as she walked back over to you, gently taking your hands in hers.
“Are you okay? Does it hurt? Should I call for an ambulance?”
“I’m fine. Breathe for a second, baby.” You told her, smiling sympathetically when she shook her head.
“Amor, we-”
“No, Alexia, you need to relax. Take a deep breath, please. Everything is fine. We have time. We have a plan. We’re okay.” You reminded her, squeezing her hands as she dutifully closed her eyes and took a deep breath. When she opened them again, they were clearer, and she looked determined.
“I am going to get the bag. Do not move.” She instructed, pressing a quick kiss to your lips before she walked calmly from the room.
-------
You were decidedly less calm hours later, when you began to have contractions. Not the little ones that had started in the car, but contractions, ones that felt like you were being ripped open from the inside out.  You were, to put it nicely, a huge baby. You wanted the epidural as soon as possible, but the doctors said you weren’t far enough along, yet, and you’d have to wait so it didn’t wear off too early. This made sense, in theory, but it was making less and less sense after 12 hours had passed, and nothing was looking any different. You laid in the hospital bed, hand gripping your wifes much too tightly, teeth gritted as another contraction ripped through you.
“You are doing so good, mi amor, this one is almost over,” Alexia encouraged softly, trying not to flinch at the strength with which you were squeezing her hand. “I love you, I love you so much.”
You knew seeing you in such pain was torture for Alexia, having to watch and know she could do nothing about it. You were losing your nerve, though, growing less and less calm and less and less sure that you could actually do this as every minute passed. And even in the middle of giving birth, you were hyper aware of your wife, not wanting to cause her any unnecessary anxiety or sadness.
“Ale, can you go ask if I can have the epidural yet?” You asked after the contraction passed, deciding you just needed a few minutes alone to pull yourself together, shed a few tears, and give yourself a pep talk.
“I’ll call the nurse,” Alexia agreed, reaching for the button. You stopped her though, grabbing her hand and attempting to throw her a convincing smile that you were sure looked more like a grimace.
“It’ll be faster if you just go ask. Please, Ale.” You told her, watching as she looked between you and the door, clearly feeling unsure about leaving you. You had requested it, though, so she kissed your forehead, ignoring the fact that it was rather sweaty, and headed off in search of a nurse.
As the door shut behind her, you covered your face with your hand, letting a few choked sobs out in your wife’s absence. It was absurd, to have her leave so you could cry, but you weren’t quite sure you were capable of making rational decisions currently. You figured you had a couple minutes to calm down, knowing you could blame your tearstained face on a contraction when Alexia came back.
However, unbeknownst to you, Alexia had found a nurse just outside your room, relayed your request to be checked again, and turned around, rather pleased she hadn’t had to go very far.
“The nurse will be in so- mi amor, no,” Alexia walked back into the room, catching sight of your shaking form, and panicking. “What is it?” she asked, leaning over you and pulling your hand away from your face. “Mi niña, por favor hablame.” Alexia was begging desperately, now.
You’d been caught, and you’d definitely only made the situation worse by trying to hide your emotional outburst, because Alexia looked like she was about to find every doctor in the hospital and bring them all to you to find out what was wrong and what you needed.
“I’m okay, I’m okay,” you reassured her, although it wasn’t very effective as you grabbed a fistfull of her sweatshirt and tried to pull her closer.
“Okay, estoy aqui,” Alexia said soothingly, gesturing for you to scooch over in the bed so she could fit next to you. Once she was settled, you burrowed into her side, taking a few calming breaths. Your wife knew you very well, and had now realized that nothing was wrong with you or the baby, you were just feeling a bit overwhelmed. “You can do this, mi amor, I know you can,” she encouraged, frowning sadly when she felt you shake your head against her.
“I can’t, it hurts, I can’t do it,” you sobbed, only feeling worse when you felt another contraction beginning.
“You can. You are the strongest person I know. I am right here, we will do it together, vale? Just squeeze my hand, mi amor, I am right here with you.” Alexia promised, looking up at the monitor to see exactly why you were now tensing up so much.
You cursed loudly, this one being even more painful than the last, gripping Alexia’s hand painfully tight. Your wife didn’t even wince, she just kissed your temple, and whispered reassurances into your ear. “I know, I know it hurts. I am so proud of you. You are doing so well, so perfect for me.”
The nurse came in, then, giving you a sympathetic smile. She checked to see how things were progressing, which was rather uncomfortable and invasive, though you were well past caring, focused instead on the way your wife was tracing a calming pattern over your cheek with one of her fingers.
“Amor, Barça is star-”
“Finish that sentence and you’ll be leaving this hospital divorced.” You warned her, knowing she was just joking to distract you. She smiled sweetly at you, seeing her efforts worked, before she caught the nurses eye, and her face fell. You turned towards the nurse as well, seeing a rather concerned look on her face, which was never a good thing.
“Still no progress,” she frowned. You felt Alexia take a steadying breath next to you, grabbing your hand once again.
“What does that mean?” She asked.
“Well, we really should be seeing some more progress at this point, especially as the contractions are worsening. It seems your baby girl is a little reluctant to come out today,” the nurse said, trying to ease the tension in the room. “I’ll grab your doctor. It’s possible we’ll start talking about a c section, as it has already been 12 hours with very little progress made, but that is up to your doctor.”
With that, she left the room, and you turned to Alexia with a look of horror on your face. This hadn’t been the plan, this had never been the plan. Your wife was quick to sense your distress, pressing her forehead to yours, and pulling your hand to rest on her chest.
“We are okay. They do these everyday, and you and Mila will be completely safe. I know it is not the plan, but everything is okay, mi amor. I have you, I will not let anything happen to either of you.” She whispered, pressing her lips to yours rather urgently.
Her words calmed you, however ridiculous that was. Alexia had no control over anything happening to you or the baby, not really. She couldn’t do anything if something went wrong, but her promise to keep both of you safe made you feel better regardless. Alexia had never let you down before, and you didn’t see her doing so in the future.
Alexia remained calm, a pillar of strength, while you tried to do so as well. Even when the doctor came in and confirmed that c section would be in the baby’s best interest, as well as yours, you stayed calm, holding on to your wife like your life depended on it.
-------
They were preparing you for the epidural when it happened. The monitor that reflected the baby’s heart rate began to beep loudly, and everyone around you seemed to lose their minds at once.
Your doctor addressed you and Alexia both when she spoke, her voice firm but reassuring. “We need to go, right now. We don’t have time for the epidural, we will put you under general when we get in there. Unfortunately, Ms. Putellas, you cannot be in the room.”
Alexia felt like she was being torn in half, but she knew she had to keep it together, at least until you were out of sight. She nodded, acting more confident and calm than she was, leaning down to leave a soft kiss on your lips.
“Ale,” you choked out, your voice choked with fear.
“All okay, mi amor. Bebé will be here before you know it. I love you, so so much cariño. I will see you soon, vale?”
“Te amo,” you whispered back, pulling her back into as tight of a hug as you could manage, before your bed was being wheeled from the room.
The doctor hung back a moment, addressing your wife as you were brought down to the operating room. “This is routine, Ms. Putellas. We will take good care of your wife, and your baby. Both of them will be brought back to this room as soon as they are ready, so you can wait here. I will have someone bring you updates.”
“Thank you,” Alexia mumbled, trying her best to return the doctor’s smile, as if her entire reason for living hadn’t just left the room without her.
-------
They put you out almost immediately upon arriving at the operating room, putting the mask over your face and having you countdown backwards from 10. Before you hit 8, you were out, the room fading from your vision, the only thought you could manage being a deep, desperate wish for your baby to be okay.
-------
The hospital had strict rules about visitors, something neither you nor Alexia had really minded when choosing where you were going to have the baby. Now, though, as Alexia waited in the hospital room, minutes away from becoming a mom, all she wanted was her own mom.
Pulling out her phone, she clicked her mother’s contact, the line only ringing once before it was picked up.
“Do I have a granddaughter yet?” Eli asked excitedly.
“Mami,” Alexia cried, unable to keep it in any longer.
“Ale, what is it?” Eli asked urgently, knowing instantly from her daughter’s voice that something was wrong.
“The baby’s heart rate dropped and they took them both back for a c-section. I can’t go back because they didn’t have time to do the epidural, and they had to put her under,” Alexia sobbed.
“Oh, mija, everything is going to be alright. They do c sections all the time. Both of them will be just fine.” Eli soothed, shutting her eyes at the pain spiking in her chest at the sound of her daughter’s pained sobs.
Alexia let her mami calm her down before she hung up with a promise to keep her updated. The next hour and a half passed excruciatingly slowly, though the doctor kept her promise, and Alexia was given frequent updates.
She was told when the baby was born, and the joy she felt at the news that Mila was completely healthy, completely safe, fully overshadowed any sadness she felt that she didn’t get to see it. After that update, Alexia took to pacing the room, knowing her baby would be on her way to meet her very soon.
Alexia heard Mila before she saw her, somehow instantly knowing that the soft cry that echoed in the halls was hers. 2 nurses wheeled in the little crib in which Mila was laid, wrapped in a soft yellow blanket, a little pink hat pulled over her head. She was crying, the noise a bit earsplitting, her little limbs kicking out as she tried to convey her dismay.
Alexia had worried, through the whole pregnancy, that she would have a hard time connecting with the baby because she didn’t carry it. All of those worries flew right out the window, though, the minute she laid her eyes on her baby girl.
“Hola mi princesa,” Alexia whispered, completely blind to the smiles on the nurses faces, or the fact that they were taking a video for you. Alexia reached down, very carefully taking the infant into her arms. Mila stopped crying right away, letting out a small sigh as her eyes fell shut, and she dozed right off in her Mami’s arms. There were tears in Alexia’s eyes, and she wasn’t sure she’d ever been this happy in her entire life. Still, though, she thought of you.
“My wife?” She asked the nurse, tearing her eyes away from her baby for just a moment.
“She’s doing great. They’re stitching her up now, and she should be out shortly.”
Alexia thanked the nurse, starting to subconsciously rock on her feet to keep the baby asleep, the nurses once again forgotten, as she took in her baby’s perfect face. “Did you hear that Mila? Your other Mama will be here soon.”
Your wife kept up a running dialogue, saying more at once than she’d potentially ever said in her life, as she waited for you. She texted her family, telling them the good news, before putting her phone down to focus all of her attention on Mila, who she was very sure was the most perfect person on the planet. Aside from you.
------
When you awoke, it was to a rather odd sound. Maybe not odd, but mostly unfamiliar. Alexia’s soft voice filled the room, talking so gently and quietly, that you could barely identify it as belonging to her.
“Sí, and she loves you so much, mi princesa. You are so perfect, Milabear, so so perfect. Just like your Mama.” Alexia cooed, and you were close to tears before you even opened your eyes. When you did, you were greeted with the very beautiful sight of your wife, holding your baby, sitting gently on the edge of the bed. Alexia’s face was bright, thrilled, and she was holding Mila close to her body, her shirt long discarded.
Alexia glanced up at you, as if she had been doing so every couple seconds, her eyes lighting up even more when she saw that you were awake.
“Mi amor!” She said excitedly, “Mila, mira, es Mama,” she told the infant, holding the baby up a little bit so you could see her.
“She’s okay?” You croaked out, throat raw from being intubated.
“She’s the most perfect baby on earth. Do you want to hold her?” Alexia beamed, moving closer and holding Mila out towards you. She could see the brief panic in your eyes, not sure if you were allowed to hold the baby at the moment, if she’d want to be held by you, as she looked so comfortable in Ale’s arms. “It’s okay, you can hold her, the doctor told me.” Alexia assured you. “Here, amor,” she gently pulled the loose gown away from your body, exposing your chest, before carefully laying Mila down on top of you. Mila’s cheek was pressed to your collarbone, and you could feel her soft exhales on your skin.
“Hi, my baby,” you whispered, pressing your lips to her forehead as lightly as you could. “Oh, you are so beautiful.”
You heard a sniff from next to you, and turned to see Alexia watching with tears streaming down her face. This, in turn, made you cry, until Alexia was leaning over you, forehead pressed to yours, Mila perched perfectly in between the two of you.
“Thank you, mi amor, thank you. She’s so perfect, and you kept her so safe and healthy. She’s so perfect because she’s yours, mi niña, and I love you.” She whispered, pressing repeated kisses onto your lips.
“Ale,” you whispered back, guiding her face away so you could wipe a few tears off her face. “She’s perfect because she’s yours, Ale. And because you took such good care of me.”
Alexia simply shook her head, resting a hand on Mila’s back, gazing at you so lovingly, it almost made you cry again. “You did it, and I am so proud of you.” She told you.
It was your turn to shake your head, pulling her closer until you could kiss her, this time. When you broke apart, you looked down at Mila, sleeping peacefully on your chest. She was Alexia’s technically, even though you carried her, and it was so clear to you. You could see Alexia everywhere in her tiny little face. Most of all, you felt it in how much you loved her. “She is the most beautiful girl in the world, like her Mami,” you said, echoing Alexia’s words from earlier. You weren’t sure you’d ever be able to stop looking at Mila. And when you did, it would be to look at Alexia looking at Mila, wearing the same look of pure adoration that you were sure was on your face, too.
In that moment, everything was perfect. Mila was perfect, and Alexia was perfect, and you had an unknown amount of stitches in your abdomen, and you couldn’t quite move your legs yet, but you were perfect too. The three of you, together? You’d always be perfect.

thought i might attempt to start off strong with my mlp infection au
this is still a pretty big WIP, especially with all of the characters. i've been very thorough with how i want things to go, so i've been taking my time with it.
stuck with a sketchier style bc it fit the vibe of what i wanted so well
MY LITTLE CATASTROPHE : SPIKE AND TWI
!!!TW: DESCRIPTIONS OF GORE!!! "Dear Princess Celestia, I have made a grave mistake, and my judgement is no longer sound. I have ruined everything. I am in search of a cure for what I have created. It cannot be destroyed. Normal magic cannot undo what I have done. He is gone, but maybe I can save the others. I am sorry that this letter has not been sent to you in a timely fashion. He is gone. I had to send this letter via pony mail. Please forgive me for all I have done. Friendship is not strong enough to save us. My friends have abandoned me. They know what I have done. Your faithful student, your failure, Twilight Sparkle."
Between all of the commotion of Sombra's defeat and Twilight's ascension as an alicorn, no one was quick to notice a very important missing person. As soon as Twilight realized her favorite baby dragon was not there to greet her and celebrate, she felt sick to her stomach. Where was he? Spike was found by Cadence. He was delivered to Twilight wrapped in her large pink wings, wounded beyond what could be saved. He was already dead when he was found. Her baby dragon was gone.
No amount of friendship or comfort could console the new princess. She laid with her body curled around Spike, and her cries filled the courtyard for hours. It took two days for her to move from that spot and head home towards Ponyville, where Spike would be buried in front of her home. But she could not bare the thought. Spike could not be gone, not forever.
When she returned home, she holed up in her tree house. The doors locked, the curtains covered the windows, and there was nothing but silence. Twilight worked tirelessly for hours, using magic to preserve her baby dragon's body long enough to find a spell that would erase what happened. Spike would not be dead for much longer. The power of friendship and love would bring him back to life. It had to.
She explained to her friends that if they used the Elements of Harmony, theoretically, he could be revived. They had their reservations. No one thought it was a good idea...but Rainbow Dash talked them into trying. Twilight was hurting, she needed her friends to be there for her. However, their attempts were in vein. Spike was not revived.
Despite their failed attempts, Twilight remained stubborn and persistent. She could not let this happen. Spike could not be gone. Everyone was starting to worry about her, but no amount of convincing could change her mind. They refused to continue trying. They did not believe in her and that made her very angry.
Returning into hiding, Twilight's determination became concrete. She did not sleep, she barely ate. Dash visited frequently, while the others had resolved that Twilight needed time and space. She was the only reason the princess ate anything at all. Twilight soon caught reference to a spell in one of her books. This spell was in a particular book in Canterlot's library...and that is where she would go. She packed up and she made her way swiftly to Canterlot. Unfortunately, the book was locked away, for it's magic was forbidden and dangerous. But this did not matter to her. Twilight broke into the library, stole the book, and rushed off to Ponyville. She would not allow anything to stand in her way. Spike could not be gone.
The spell required an intense amount of magic. Twilight would need help to cast the spell, to bring Spike back. But, none of the other elements would help her. They insisted she lay Spike to rest. She refused. How could they ever say such a thing? How could they give up on Spike? How could they not believe in her?
Twilight took it upon herself to cast the spell. She took the Elements of Harmony and she wielded them herself. Bright beams of pink light flooded out of her curtains...
!!!TW BEGINS!!!
"Twilight. . ." A soft, exhausted voice called from the explosion that was her living room. Twilight could barely hear it's faintness, but his voice was unmistakable. She blindly stumbled towards the voice, to find Spike. When she found him, she was first overjoyed. Spike was getting up! Spike was alive!! Bright pink and sparkling ooze spilled from his chest as he rose from his bed. "Twilight?" His voice was louder and sounded panicked? "What is happening-" his voice cut off with a sickening gurgle. Pink bursted from his mouth, and he coughed and wheezed, trying desperately to regain his breath. His eyes were bleeding, or were they rotting? Twilight couldn't tell. She rushed to his side and she held him. Spike choked and convulsed, pink ooze spilling all over his bed and onto the floor and onto her. And then...he stopped. Unsure of what happened, of what to do, Twilight stared in disbelief, in heartbreak. Had she revived him only to suffer yet another painful death? Tears welled in her eyes and she cried out with unbearable pain.
Between her cries and uncontrollable sobbing, she didn't hear Dash break through one of her windows. She held Spike and cried and cried. The house was a mess and Twilight was a mess and covered in pink ooze and Spike was a mess and pink ooze was still coming out of him. Despite her best efforts, Twilight would not let go of Spike. She snapped at Dash to leave her alone, and that is what Dash did. She didn't want to, but what was there to do?
Twilight fell asleep in the midst of her crying, holding her baby dragon close and covering him with her wings.
She woke to a gurgling growl and a terrifying creature standing above her, with pink, sparkling drool dripping from it's mouth. It's eyes were dark and lifeless but little pink glowing orbs betrayed it's gaze. It stared and growled and breathed raspy, shallow breaths. Twilight pushed it away in fear, scrambling up from Spike's bed. That is when she realized what the creature was. It was Spike...but it wasn't truly. He twitched and groaned and dripped pink ooze.
Before she knew it, a knock came at her door. Spike's head snapped towards the sound.
The door opened.
Spike lunged.
Screams and Spike's growls erupted.
What had she done?

Sabotage
Tumblr media
Summary: Aemond scares off another one of his daughter’s suitors… yet again.
Pairing: Aemond Targaryen x fem!reader
Warnings: Fluff. Protective dad Aemond.
Word count: 700
“Lord Lannister isn’t pleased at all,” one maid whispered.
The other one nodded. “I think Prince Aemond might have gone too far… sending the dragon after the lordling…”
Cold sweat prickled through your skin as you watched the two girls stride off along the hall before disappearing around the corner.
Usually, you’d interrupt and demand clarification as to what could your husband possibility have done that would warrant such reaction.
But you didn’t need to be told.
You knew.
Inwardly cursing, you paced hurriedly in the direction of the training grounds, already preparing yourself for what was to come.
The piercing sound of metal hitting metal rang in your ears and you looked down from the balcony as Aemond sparred with his daughter of ten.
“Move your feet.”
She clumsily tried to keep up with her vastly more experienced and agile father, only to trip and nearly lose balance.
“Cole told me I don’t move my feet enough,” she huffed in annoyance, her patience running thin.
Aemond’s steps came to a halt, sheathing his sword. “Cole taught me everything I know about swordsmanship. You’d do well to consider his advice.”
She twirled her sword lazily before nodding and approaching her father.
“Yes, kepa…” her voice filled with resignation as she bumped into his side in sheer affection after sheathing her own sword.
Aemond ruffled her hair with a mischievous smile curling his lips, earning a complaint from the younger Targaryen.
You were tempted to let the matter at hands slide, but logic urged you to pace down the staircases to meet them.
“Aemond… we need to talk.”
He turned to you and welcomed the kiss you planted on his cheek, lacing one arm around your waist and pulling you into him.
Your daughter glared at you with wide eyes. “What is it, mother?”
“Let me speak to your father.”
The fiercest scowl twisted her face. “This is about me, isn’t it?”
“Let us have a word,” Aemond interjected, giving her shoulder a faint squeeze. “Kesi ȳdragon tolī.”
But she didn’t want to talk later and a dragon should not be easily crossed. Aemond, best of all, should know this. She was perceptive enough to know that you only request her absence when the issue concerned her. While it used to be no issue a few years ago, she wasn’t as easily dissuaded now.
Her lilac eyes narrowed defiantly. “If it’s about me, then I want to know.”
Aemond heaved a deep sigh before pressing a kiss to your forehead.
Clearing your throat, you locked eyes with him. “You cannot keep chasing away potential suitors.”
“Oh? Who was it this time?” she giggled, smile wide on her lips.
She was still a child at heart, finding amusement in her father’s antics. But you didn’t share the sentiment. Otto Hightower had been insistent that an adequate suitor would be found, strengthening the bonds between houses.
But you cared not for the wants and needs of lords, especially when it came to your daughter. What you did care about was how Aemond kept on finding more and more creative — and dangerous — ways to postpone the inevitable, even if that meant…
“Vhagar,” you said in a serious tone. “Your father is resorting to Vhagar now.”
Aemond’s face remained as impassive as ever. “No harm came to him. She was merely hovering.”
Your daughter broke into a laughter instead. “The Lannister boy?”
“Lord Lannister is furious,” you said, furrowing your brows at him, hoping he’d take you seriously.
He merely shrugged, eye on yours with a faint smile. “Vhagar is protective of her.”
You rolled your eyes as he tightened his grip on you playfully.
“She is protective, because you are protective.”
“Tell me something, lady wife,” Aemond said, his other arm resting protectively on his daughter’s shoulder. “He did flee, didn’t he?”
“He’s four-and-ten, Aemond!”
He scoffed. “I am sure we can agree he’s bound to face much more dangerous things than a protective father,” he said nonchalantly as his daughter cheered him on. “If he ran away, then he’s not worthy.”
“You sent the biggest dragon in the world after him… you would have run, too.”
As soon as your words left your mouth, you realised how ridiculous your statement was, especially when he rose an eyebrow.
“Father bonded with Vhagar when he was my age,” your daughter chimed in, not able to hide the pride in her voice.
He gave her a tender smile, running his fingers teasingly through her silver hair once more.
You sighed heavily, fully realising this to be a lost cause. He was set on having the matters of her courtship on his hands and no one across the seven kingdoms would have his mind changed.
“He’s the third one in two months,” you tried to reason with him again. “One day you’ll have to cave in.”
This time, your daughter spoke, “We have an agreement. Father will let me choose my suitor.”
You narrowed your eyes. “You are far too young.”
Aemond nodded. “That is why I shall act on her interests until she is of age.”
You were completely dumbfounded. The bond the two of them shared had evolved into something you had never witnessed before. The level of complicity and union had allowed you to see sides of Aemond Targaryen you had never thought existed.
“But father… I think there is someone I like,” you daughter said all of a sudden.
In an instant, you watched Aemond’s face drop and his fingers duh into your waist. “Who?”
You had to hold back a chuckle. “The Baratheon boy?”
Her face lit up as she nodded, looking expectantly at her father.
“Well, I’m sure your father will have no problem with that,” you said, patting his chest lightly. “Since he’s of your choosing.”
The look Aemond exchanged with you might have frightened the bravest Westerosi men, but you didn’t waver, bringing your lips to his.
“Hmm.”

King Gojo had little family, and the family that he did have was barely in contact with himp.
At least, until their child came to him, begging for him to help them find their parents. "My sister went missing?" He had asked to the teen infront of him, they had his eyes.
"Yes, as well as my pa." Reader had said with teary eyes. "I beg of you to help me find my parents, your majesty."
"My sister and I don't have a cordial relationships." Gojo said with a small smile, he missed her truly. "But this situation will make us put our differences aside."
Reader looked at him with a bright smile, causing him to grin at them. "And perhaps I will finally get to know (my cousin/niece/nephew)."
The way his posture changed and how his expression, it set off alarm bells in Reader.
Perhaps they should have listened to their mom's warnings about him...
While Gojo had promised Reader that he would search for their parent, he had offered them a place in the palace. Which caused Reader to ask: "Why did ma give up her title?"
"Is it important?" Gojo had asked. "Quite so, I don't wish to be murdered you see." Reader had answered back.
"You have quite the imagination, I would never let my blood be harmed."
While Reader tried to help with the search, they slowly became close with Gojo, they even started to call him uncle. Slowly the court started to treat Reader as the crowns heir.
During Tea time Reader asked about it. "Uncle Satoru, why are people treating me like the crowns heir?"
"Perhaps, because." He started dramatically. "I adore you like you are mine."
Reader chuckled nervously and drank their tea quietly. So this is what their mother meant, as long as their parents are found... His obsessions won't continue.
But the next day, the imperial knights brought two death cerficates to them.
Reader had dropped to their knees and broke down. Their ma and pa were gone. The people who were supposed to be by their side until they were old and gray, the people Reader was supposed to care for as they grow old.
And now they are gone.
Reader had to leave this place, they had to, before their uncle because obsessed. Just like he was with their ma.
But when Reader voiced their desire to leave and bury their parents at their home, Satoru's behavior took a dangerous turn.
'I have been too naïve.' they thought as Satoru grabbed their arms tightly and said: "Stay with me, or I will make you."
"W-what?" Reader had dumbly asked. "You can't do that, uncle."
"I can do what I want, I am the king, and I hold full authority."
"Yes, but imprisonment without a just cause is illegal!" Reader shouted. "Even for the king!"
"Oh, but I have a just cause." Gojo said in a low tone, pulling Reader into a tight hug. "A grieving child cannot make decisions for themselves."
Reader gulped.
"Now can they?"
All they could do was smack his chest, not that he would budge. "awh, darling." He chuckled. "Your grief is making you violent, perhaps you should rest."
He pushed you towards a new room, it was big. It almost felt like the entry to a house.
"Everything you need is here." Satoru whispered in Reader's ear as they cried out. "You'll never need to leave."
With that Satoru left and shut the door, locking it. A maid in the room ran to Reader as they dropped to the ground saying: "Your highness, why don't we take a bath and read a few books. That will surely calm you down."
They had nodded and allowed the maids to do as they pleased. As they whispered praise in Reader's ears.
The only time Reader was allowed out of that room was for their parents funeral.
It seemed like Satoru truly meant for them to never leave. So Reader fought with him every time he came to visit. He told himself: 'They just need to adapt, soon they'll accept their new positions.'
But eventually he broke.
The next time he came to visit he asked: "When will you stop asking such foolish things?"
"When you realize you can't keep me here, I am my own person." Reader had hissed back at him. "No." He spat with venom.
"You are a bird in a golden cage, act like it."

when you're apart
Author’s Note: is my Sanemi favoritism showing? 🤍 Spoiler Alert: yes. 😂 Don’t mind my psychology major brain showing ~a bit too. 🤓
Tumblr media
when you’re apart
Hashira x Reader
Word Count: ~1,300
CW: anxiety disorder, explicit language, mild sexual content
Emergency Request Fulfilled: I was wondering if you could do how the men hashira react to a female reader with separation anxiety
I have a fear of being alone which makes me very clingy. My longtime boyfriend recently broke up with me due to me being “to much to deal with.”
Being clingy is such a bother I know I just hate being alone
~faqs~
When you’re apart…
… Gyomei doesn’t mind receiving calls from you throughout the day. He’s endlessly patient, always willing to listen, and warns you in advance if he can’t talk for long. His strategy for setting and respecting boundaries? Planning ahead and communicating his availability to make sure you feel prioritized and included in his decision making, while still fulfilling his own wants and needs.
… Obanai dislikes it as much as you do, but is ~somewhat more subtle about it. He, at least, has Kaburamura to keep him company, but kissing you is decidedly more pleasant. He’s mindful about maintaining healthy boundaries and expectations—he knows codependency shouldn’t be romanticized—but he’s also so wholly in love with you, that sometimes he gives up and surprises you anyway. “Obanai? You’re two hours early?? Are you okay???” He nods sheepishly, already pulling you into a hug, “I’m fine. Missed you.” “Is Sanemi going to complain to me the next time I see him?” you sigh, scrunched grin revealing your contentment despite the exasperation in your tone. “Probably, I don’t care. I left him enough to cover more than my share of the tab.”
… Mitsuri totally understands your anxiety, and is lovingly firm about ensuring you don’t slip into unhealthy habits. “You can text me anytime, but only call if there’s an emergency, okay?” she murmurs, pressing a soft kiss to your earlobe. You nod slightly, resisting the urge to pout. “I’ll be home before you know it.” Even though it stings, you know it’s never personal. Her willingness to draw straightforward boundaries, as well as her willingness to cross them if you’re truly upset, are just another reason to cherish her.
… Shinobu checks in every couple of hours. Sometimes it’s just a single sentence text, other times a quick call, but she knows how important feeling connected is to you. It’s important to her too, of course, but she’s apt to lose track of time when she’s at the hospital or her lab—she enjoys her work—so she puts in conscious effort to be proactive about your anxiety. When she anticipates a busier or longer day, she’ll ask, “Is it okay if I only check in during meals today?” Generally, you’ll reassure her that, “Absolutely, I’m so proud of you,” and if you’re having a low day, then she always figures out a compromise with you before she leaves.
… Kyojuro unknowingly reassures you, because—apparently—everything reminds him of you. Whether it’s a photo of a flower shortly after he arrives at work Pretty flower, but you’re prettier 🌻, a photo of the sky during his lunch break The cloud formations remind me of you, so soft and mesmerizing ☁️, or a blurry selfie as he finally heads home for the day Cannot wait to see you! 😁, you’re kept in the loop. The one time his phone fell into a puddle (he was trying to photograph a reflection of willow branches Elegant and dreamy, like you 🌿), he immediately visited the nearest shop to borrow their landline Hi, yes, how are you today? Would it be possible for me to make a call? I am happy to purchase something. I would just like to tell my partner that I will be unavailable for the day.
… Sanemi often forgets to explicitly text, call, or otherwise contact you. He doesn’t mean to aggravate your anxiety: he just doesn’t quite ~get it, and assumes it stems from insecurity or jealousy — which also confuses him. “You have nothing to worry about. How could I fall in love with someone else when I’m already in love with you?” he snorts, lightly tapping your nose. “That’s not…” you bite at your lip, unsure how to explain yourself. “I’m not big on texting, you know that. It’s not that I specifically dislike texting you.” You smile despite yourself, eyes rolling fondly, “I know it’s not specific to me.” “So then what’s the issue?” he’s determined to understand. “I’m afraid of being alone,” you shrug, gesturing vaguely, “Don’t worry about it. It’s nothing.” Arms crossing, he leans in, forehead bumping yours, voice warm and low on your skin as you gulp, “It’s okay to be afraid of things, and being afraid isn’t nothing.” Arms uncrossing, he settles his hands on your hips, kneading gently as he pulls back slightly, fixing an even gaze on your flushed expression, “I can’t be with you all the time, but I can promise that I love you and think about you.” “All the time?” you ask quietly. It’s his turn to blush, eyes closing as he dips his face into your neck, muttering softly, “All the damn time.”
… Muichiro is a bit absentminded, and rarely thinks to check his phone, but he sets reminders—around noon, and later in the afternoon—to make up for it. If he’s occupied and misses his usual look-at-his-phone time(s), then he’s never bothered by a call from you coming through (besides your number, his phone’s always on Do Not Disturb). In the bathroom? He’ll pick up. About to bite into his lunch? He’ll put it aside. Presenting during a meeting? He’ll literally answer his phone mid sentence, and leave the room (creative liberty: thank gosh he’s the boss hah). He’s aware of his head-in-the-clouds tendencies, just as he’s aware of your anxiety, and feels that having a specific routine is perfectly fair: if he forgets to uphold his end of your expectations, then you’ve every right to remind him. Conversely, if he’s feeling overwhelmed, he’s more than capable of reasserting his own needs — an infinite practice of mutual respect and taking necessary space.
… Giyuu feels uneasy too, but his discomfort stems primarily from how most people tend to socially drain him — you’re one of few that he can feel both stimulated and rested around. Therefore, if it’s a spend-time-with-you versus spend-time-around-others situation, then he’d prefer to be with you. Spend-time-with-you versus spend-time-by-himself situations are more complicated. It takes a lot of discussion, some heavy evenings apart, and tense evenings together, but you gradually nurture a shared understanding and acceptance of your varying needs. He’s always happy to reassure you that I’m not upset with you, nor am I tired of you; I’m just tired, while you’re slowly learning to trust him and his commitment to loving you.
… Tengen could care less about how clingy you are. Super duper clingy? He loves it. Not clingy at all? He’s cool and confident — he knows you adore him as much as he adores you. His easygoingness, however, isn’t the most productive in terms of processing and reducing your overall anxiety. In fact, you eventually have to tell him that he shouldn’t answer your texts or calls immediately, every single time, without a hint of irritation, because it reinforces your self soothing behaviors. “But I’m happy to?!” he grins, kissing the top of your head. “I know, and I appreciate you,” you chuckle, tucked snugly into his side, “But I don’t want to feel afraid of being alone-” “Sooo don’t be alone!” he interrupts enthusiastically, “Again, I’m happy to keep you company!” Inhaling deeply, you gently grip his jaw, a silent request for him to focus, “And again, I appreciate you, but sometimes I have to feel afraid to stop feeling afraid. If I’m never alone, then I can’t ever feel afraid,” hesitating, voice softer now, “And I know you’ll promise to never leave me, but shit happens. Y’know?” He’s silent, maroon eyes steady and tender as he holds your gaze. Before you can nervously murmur Tengen?, he touches his nose to your forehead, still smiling. “I love you. I’ll do my best to help, even from a distance.” “Well don’t go too far away,” you quip. “Of course not,” he laughs, “I’ll just go wherever you tell me to,” declared earnest and true.

Hell I'm just a Kid Myself
Tumblr media
Jamie Tartt x Reader
The reader finds out she is pregnant with Jamie's baby and she is terrified of what his response will be when he finds out.
I'm planning on making this a series so feel free to comment what you would like to see moving forward.
Check out Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
____________________________________________________________
She stared at the test sitting on the counter, and it felt like she couldn’t breathe. This couldn’t be happening right now.  The plus sign was staring back at her clear as day. She was pregnant.
“Baby!” She heard a voice echo through the hallway. The familiar Mancurian accent of her boyfriend that usually brought a smile to her face filled her with dread. “I need to head to practice.”
“Hey Jamie, I’m not feeling well I will see you when you come home.”
“Do you want me to pick you up anything? Is it your lady time.” Jamie asked and a comment like that would have usually made Y/N roll her eyes and laugh but the reality of the situation at hand had her terrified.
“Um, yeah, if you could pick me up some chocolate that would be great.” She lied the thought of any food making her nauseous.
“I love you.” Jamie called and her heart broke.
They hadn’t been dating for even a year, there was no discussion of a future, and now they were faced with it whether they liked it or not.
As she heard the front door shut and the sound of his Ashton pulling out of the driveway, Y/N slid to the floor.
“What am I going to do?” She thought. Suddenly she realized there was only one person she needed to talk to, someone who would give her instant clarity. She crawled her way to the bedroom and grabbed her phone.
“I need you.” She texted before she curled up onto the bed.
It took what felt like ages but in reality was record time before she heard the doorbell ring. Before she even had the chance to get out a bed, the door bell rang again. Then by the time she made it out of the room he was pounding on the door.
“Y/N!” He screamed and she knew that if she didn’t hurry he would bust the door down.
“Jesus Christ,” She sighed as she through open the door.
“Where is the prick, what did he do?” Roy snapped his eyes wild.
“I’m pregnant.”
Roy’s jaw dropped. “Fuuuuuuuuuucccccckkkk.”
Y/N broke and buried her face into Roy’s chest as she cried.
By the time she time Y/N finally calmed down her and Roy had made their way to the couch.
“What did he say when you told him?” Roy asked.
“I haven’t told him yet, I found out literally a half hour ago.”
“Fuckin’ hell!” Roy snapped. “You mean to tell me you told me before you told Jamie.”
“Yes I…” Y/N started.
“That is far too much pressure! Plus Jamie is going to kill me. Why haven’t you told him?”
“I don’t know how he is going to react. We haven’t talked about, I mean fuck Roy we haven’t even being dating that long, and he’s only 25. I’m only 27 I don’t and what about his career. I don’t want to ruin that I just…” Y/N panicked.
“Woah, hey, look at me.” Roy said as he grabbed her hand. “You cannot panic about something when you don’t even know what the outcome is going to be. Jamie is crazy about you.”
“And I’m crazy about him, but a baby Roy I don’t know what we are going to do.”
“It is something that you need to discuss with him, and if he does anything remotely prickish I will kill him.”
Y/N laughed. “You love him and you know it.”
Roy grunted causing Y/N to laugh even more.
Y/N gave Roy a large hug. “Thank you for being the best grumpy therapist a girl could as for.”
Roy cracked a smile. “Give Jaime a chance, I think he will surprise you.”
“I hope you are right.” Y/N sighed and she could feel the anxiety in her stomach growing.
Y/N knew that if she stayed at home and waited until Jamie got back that she was going to go absolutely insane, so instead, she made her way to Nelson Road Stadium.
Roy walked with her and he could see how badly she was shaking as they walked through the halls.
“Everything is going to be ok.” Roy tried his best to sooth.
“Yeah, of course.” Y/N replied but she wasn’t sure.
“Y/N!” The whole team cheered when she came into the locker room. Ever since she started dating Jamie she had become a regular at the Dog Track and all the guys loved her.
“Hi baby,” Jamie smiled as he wrapped his arms around her and picked her up swinging her around.
Her heart felt like it was breaking, she couldn’t help but feel that this could be the last moments she had with Jamie. So she held on tighter than she should.
“Are you ok?” He whispered.
“Can I talk to you, in private?” She whispered back.
She could feel Jamie tense up as he set her back down his eyes full of concern as he looked her up and down trying to figure out what was wrong.
“Ya’ um, this way.” He said as he grabbed her hand and walked her towards the boot room.
On her way out she caught Roy’s gaze and watched as he mouthed “Good luck.”
“Is something wrong or did you just want to see me,” Jamie smirked
“I love you Jamie, so much you know that right.”
Jamie’s face dropped. “What’s wrong, what did I do?” He asked and Y/N watched his jaw clench.
“Oh Jamie,” Y/N gasped as she grabbed his face in her hands. “Honey, you didn’t do anything, well actually you did, or rather we did, a lot.”
“I’m confused, are you breaking up with me or…”
“No God no, I… fuck.” Y/N said her eyes well up with tears.
“Baby, you are really starting to freak me out, what’s going on?”
“I’m… I’m pregnant.”
Jamie laughed. “Jesus, you really freaked me out Y/N I thought something was wrong.”
Y/N stared at Jamie tears streaming down her face.
His laughter faded and and she watched as reality hit in. “You’re preg… how?”
“Jamie, do I really need to explain that to you.”
“No that’s not what I mean I… you are pregnant.” He gaped.
Y/N nodded.
Jamie opened his mouth but no words came out, for the first time since she met him, Jamie Tartt was speechless.
“Please say something, I’m freaking out and I just need to know what you are thinking.” Y/N pleaded.
“I…” He started and Y/N could see the tears in his eyes. “I need to get back to practice.”
Then he pulled Y/N in for a long kiss before he turned and left.
“Wait Jamie!” She called. “Fuck!”
The room went silent for a while before she heard the sound of someone quietly moving.
“Hi Will,” She sighed.

"The only thing more painful than watching you fall, is watching you lose hope."
Lets all pretend that I drew these consistently for a second. This is the first time I actually seriously made some sort pf a comic strip and am honestly a bit happy with it lmao (even tho that last Alastor leaves much to be desired, i cannot with the angle i chose). Angelic Alastor AU details and better taken pics of each scene under the cuttt
Man im actually taking this AU sht seriously huh- here we goooo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So AU summary, Alastor's an angel, though he's always been an odd sort and looked different from the other angels. His name is still Alastor, though he is also known by his title, Altruist. As time went on, it was the name nearly everyone knew him by.
He was close with Lucifer, who both admired each other's fantastical ideas, and oddity from the others. He was closely involved with Lucifer and Lilith, helping keep their relationship a secret. He was devastated when they both fell, having managed to keep his own involvement hidden(after countless pleading from the two to keep himself safe). Im a radioapple addict by heart lmao, but this is gearing more towards a poly between the three of them. Alastor was quite slow in processing his feelings for the two, even with Lucifer having already harbored feelings for him for ages, and Lilith being pretty forward.
After a couple events and other drama and detailsss, Alastor arrives at the Hazbin Hotel after he heard about Charlie. He sees her like a daughter, and it hurt him to know that Lucifer and Lilith left her behind in such a manner. He still doesn't believe in redemption(he's an angel, he knows those fuckers), but he still supports Charlie anyway he could. He still acts super creepy and all, but has good intentions. He lives a somewhat double life, juggling his appearance between being Altruist in Heaven and Alastor in Hell.
Lucifer, Lilith and Alastor, though initially had a rather stable relationship(as stable as you can get with one of them constantly smuggling himself into hell), had a bit of a falling out. Lucifer lost hope and motivation for everything, something that broke all their hearts. Lilith was a bit more fierce, wanting to take more action. Alastor was a sort of a mix between the two. He was cautious, and preferred to lie in wait, but wasn't as far gone as Lucifer.
Its why when Lucifer found out about his involvement with the hotel, he was absolutely furious. He didn't want Alastor to give their daughter false hope, didn't want her to reach for the stars only to fall back down, burned. He's too broken, and the idea that Alastor, someone who should KNOW how dangerous hoping was, setting Charlie up for pain, it hurt.
Basically sad old men lol

Strangers to lovers Part 3

Sherlock x reader
Summary: Being Enola’s sitter was an adventure, but not as much as falling for her brother, Sherlock.
Warnings: 18+ only, NSFW, Unprotected public sex (p in v), very little fluff, angst as well, kissing, cussing
Word count: 1.9k+
Tumblr media
Sherlock has consistently shown up at your house carrying flowers for the past week. You conveyed your appreciation for each of them; they were all beautiful. It started off the same way as usual when he arrived early today with a fresh bouquet of your favorite flowers-lilies.
"Sherlock, all of the flowers are beautiful," you remarked as you opened the door. This, however, will not mend what you broke. You cannot buy my trust with anything."
"Will you kindly give me an idea of sorts? I am really trying my best," he muttered.
"No, you will manage. You are, after all, the notorious Sherlock Holmes. You have probably experienced worse moments."
You shut the door after saying those final words to him. Although doing something like that made you feel terrible, it was a good decision.
Tumblr media
Your cousin Miranda made the decision to pay you a visit after sending a letter to your family. "Is everything okay? Your letter sounded worrisome."
Even though you were not very close to Miranda, you reasoned that it might be okay to hear her opinion. She grinned when you told her you had fallen in love.
"Please try not to get too excited. There is no happy ending to this story." When you said that, her face fell. "He left me not too long ago; in the most horrible way, I think it is possible to leave someone you love." You told her everything that had happened in the past. Now that he has returned, he wants me. And, my goodness, I want him too. I just cannot be with him yet, though. I need him to show me because it does not feel quite right. He has not done anything but buy me stuff. Love and trust are not things that can be purchased."
She listened carefully. "I am not sure what to say," she said, leaning her head against her palm and sadly glancing at you. "Do you still love him?" You sighed. “I will always love him more than words can describe. You do not realize how close I was to giving in to his pleas for me to stay with him. How I was able to say no is still beyond me.”
"Though I do agree with you, could you perhaps be a little lenient with him the next time you see him?"
"Be lenient with him? You must be joking. He deserves this. You do not realize how painful it was because you were not present, Miranda.”
"I understand, but if he asks, just go out with him for a day and see how it goes."
You decided to see him after giving her a farewell for the evening and considering what she had said.
Tumblr media
When you had not seen or heard from Sherlock for a week, you were taken aback. You were already dressed when he knocked on your door and said, "I have a day prepared for you. Please come." And you had nothing planned for yourself.
He extended his hand for you to grasp.
Gazing upon it, you inhaled deeply and grasped his hand.
The two of you took a carriage to a location of which you were unaware. You asked once, but he wouldn't tell you. “It’s a surprise." You wanted to ask again but decided against it. Not wanting to appear eager.
Tumblr media
You hadn’t known how long it took, but the carriage came to a stop. Sherlock stopped you and said, "Cover your eyes.” You gave him a look that told him he was ridiculous for suggesting such a thing.
Still, you tried to get out, but he was blocking you. “Cover your eyes, and I'll help you out."
You huffed but did as such.
Sherlock guided you, telling you where to step and what to watch out for. “Okay, we’re here,” he mumbled under his breath, but you managed to hear what he said.
“Are you ready?” he asked. “Yes, now let me see!"
He removed his hands, and you saw a huge picnic set up for the both of you in a beautiful vineyard covered with tons of flowers.
You’d never seen such a view; you were at a loss for words.
“Sherlock, this is breathtaking. You really did all of this?”
“Of course, I thought you would love it."
He took your hand and led you to sit down on the blanket.
Sherlock sat across from you, curiosity got to you, and you reached to open the basket that was in the middle and started pulling out the produce.
There were various fruits, vegetables, and meats for the afternoon lunch he planned.
Tumblr media
Sherlock and you were having a marvelous day together. It was as if nothing had changed; it felt the same as it did four years ago. Just the two of you, enjoying each other and not wanting it to end.
He was eyeing you diligently, especially the way you would reach for a strawberry and how your lips looked when taking a bite.
The sound of your laugh made goosebumps rise on his skin.
He hadn't noticed how much he missed making you laugh, along with your infectious smile.
“Sherlock, this was something that I won’t forget. Thank you for all of this."
“No, don’t thank me. I don’t deserve that, but you deserve this. All for you, y/n."
Sherlock ran a hand through his curly hair that fell in his face, and you gave him a smile.
"Oh, you have,” he said, stopping mid-sentence and reaching his thumb out to wipe away some of the juice that came from one of the many strawberries you had.
His face became eerily close to yours; without thinking, you moved towards him, and his thumb caressed your cheek. You took his thumb in your mouth and sucked on it—the familiar taste of a strawberry on your tongue.
His lips found yours in a slow kiss.
The dress you wore slowly moved upward, and his large hands squeezed your thighs in a needy way.
He kissed and sucked on your neck, causing a moan from you.
His lips grazed your neck up to your mouth, and his nose nudged against yours before going in for another kiss.
He pulled down your underwear and rubbed your clit with his index and middle fingers. “How does that feel, baby? Does that feel good?”
“Mhm, yes, it feels so fucking good; please don’t stop."
His hand started to gently caress your breast, and you moaned into the kiss you two were sharing. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and he laid you down carefully.
He removed his hand from underneath your dress.
You pulled up your dress past your hips, and you helped him unbuckle his trousers. He pulled his cock out and eased his way into your pussy.
Both of you moaned simultaneously, and his movements started to quicken.
Your hands grabbed his buttocks, and your legs wrapped around his waist as he pounded into you.
No words were spoken between the two of you.
Just this moment with him was enough.
Your mouths and tongues moved in sync with one another like they always had. His grunts started to become louder, along with your cries of pleasure.
Your back arched, you were breathless, and you felt Sherlock's hips still with his seed pouring into you.
His head hung low in your neck, and as you started to come out of your sex-filled haze, you realized what had happened.
This wasn’t what you had planned.
This shouldn’t have happened at all.
You scolded yourself for being stupid.
“Sherlock, this was a bad idea.” He looked at you, and you could tell that what you said hurt him.
'What do you mean this was a bad idea?"
“We had sex, and while I enjoyed it, it shouldn't have happened."
He pulled his cock out of you and put it back in his trouser while you pulled your dress down, trying to cover yourself as best as you could. Suddenly, an anxious feeling started within you.
Sherlock lowered and shook his head, and then moved his hand down his face in defeat.
“Would you please take me home?”
"Is that wise?" he asked, looking at you. "You look as if you don’t want me near you again."
You didn't have words for him, although what he said wasn’t true. You wanted him near; you wouldn’t be here with him if that were true.
“Are you going to leave? Again? I know who you are and what you do. Sherlock, you don’t need to explain that to me anymore. I can see you’re trying; you’ve bought me tons of flowers, my favorite ones. Which I’m grateful for, and you planned this whole picnic for me. And sweet gestures like this are what have been meant to earn my trust and get me back. But in the end, is this all worth it if you end up leaving?”
He looked at you and lowered his eyes. “I don’t know what the future holds, but I know I want you, and I’ll want you always. And if one day I must go, then I would hope you’d come with me.”
“You would want me to pack up my life here? Is that what you would want me to do?”
He waved his hand. “No, I would never make you do something you wouldn't want to; we could find common ground, a compromise? If you want this as much as I do",
You did; you wanted it more than life; you wanted him.
But you had nothing left to say to him. “May we go, please?"
He let his shoulders drop in defeat but ultimately said yes.
He packed up the picnic, and the mess that was caused by the sex you had a few moments before
The carriage ride to your home was silent—a silence that could kill. A storm blew over London, which fit the mood of how the day was ending.
You sat picking at your nail beds for the rest of the ride until the carriage reached your home. Sherlock helped you out. “Thank you,” he said, but he still walked you to your front door. “I wish you a good rest of your night,” he said before walking off. You watched as he walked back to his house in the cold, groggy weather instead of the carriage.
Walking back into your house, you aimed straight towards the shower to wash away his scent and the sweat that formed on your skin from the sun earlier, combined with the sex you and Sherlock shared.
The water was hot and refreshing on your skin; you felt renewed once you were dressed in your nightgown and in bed.
You tossed and turned for the rest of the night, Sherlock on your mind and wondering what the future held for the both of you.
Tumblr media
Sherlock walked along the pavement, enduring the London rain, as he came upon a pub. He walked in, needing a drink. He sat in an open chair, the barman appearing in front of him. “How many?”
Sherlock got lost in thought about the question he was about to answer the barman when the barman answered for him, “Let’s start you with one, and if you wish for more, let me know."
A few seconds later, a lager was put in front of Sherlock; he analyzed it for a moment before downing the drink.
Without a second thought, he ordered another one to forget the prior events that had taken place; it was going to be a long night ahead.

Reader x Jihyo - Looking Out For You (Part 3)
Tumblr media
Part 3 and FINALE!!!
Let's get to it!
WORDS: 9842
======================
"..."
"..."
"...w-who...am I?" Jihyo repeated while leaning back.
You were looking around the room.
"Also, where am I?"
Jihyo gulped.
"I-it's not funny (YN)," Jihyo believed it was a joke.
A stupid joke.
"What's not funny..."
Jihyo's breathing became erratic, as she placed herself on the chair in disbelief.
She did not want to believe this.
She cannot believe this!
"(YN) please stop it..." She sounded like a child begging.
"So, am I (YN)?" You pointed at yourself as Jihyo rose her hands to the side of her head.
"No, no no no no no..." She was muttering.
"So I'm not (YN)?" You questioned as Jihyo remained still.
If things weren't bad enough, this was the worst she couldn't imagine.
"D-d-doctor...doctor!" Jihyo stood up, knocking the chair down, and went to the hall, "C-can anyone help me!?"
"What's the matter," she heard from behind as a nurse came over quickly, seeing her anguish.
"S-something's wrong!" She pointed at you, "h-he doesn't know a-anything..." Jihyo broke at the last word as the nurse nodded.
"Okay, okay, let me get his doctor, calm down and take deep breaths."
But it was on deaf ears as Jihyo kept repeating...
"H-he doesn't know...he doesn't know..."
The nurse quickly got her pager as Jihyo walked into the room, staring at you like a wonder.
"What's going on?" You asked as Jihyo remained rooted.
"..."
She wanted to say something but nothing came out.
"Mr. Park."
From behind her, the doctor's voice was heard as Jihyo pointed.
"D-doctor, h-he-"
"I know, the nurse informed me," he passed her as Jihyo stared at the two.
"C-can you do something...give him medicine or..." Jihyo was having a hard time figuring out what to say.
"Do you know your name?"
"I don't know, is it (YN)?" You answered.
"What about her?" He pointed at Jihyo.
You looked at her as Jihyo held her hands in front of her mouth.
"I-I'm sorry, I don't."
"Oh god...oh god no..." Jihyo held a hand over her mouth.
"Do you know your parent's name?"
"...sorry, I don't." You answered as the doctor pursed his lips and stroked his chin and looked at Jihyo.
"Tell me what you do remember, anything," the doctor's voice sounded demanding, but nevertheless, you thought hard about what you did remember, trying to figure out yourself.
"..."
"..."
"..."
That was the problem though.
Your memory was blank with not a trace of memory except a few moments ago.
"...I-I don't know...I'm trying but..." you trailed off, looking at the bedsheets with fixed eyes.
"Oh my god, oh my-d-doctor he has to know something! Can you do anything!" Jihyo was panicking as the doctor turned to her.
"The best we can do now is call his parents and give him space."
"But-"
"I'm sorry Ms. Park, but please let's step out while I inform his parents." The doctor insisted as Jihyo ultimately had to agree, though she mindlessly left the room like a zombie.
Jihyo wanted to stay and comfort you to the best of her ability and tell you everything will be okay, but her nerves kicked in as her whole body started to shake while leaving the room.
Stepping out into the hall...
"(YN)...oh god...(YN)...what have I done..." She muttered.
============================================
The hospital lobby was a sea of unfamiliar faces, the soft hum of activity filling the air.
Jihyo sat alone near the corridor of where she left, her fingers nervously twisting a tissue as she anxiously awaited any news about you.
The words she had heard just moments ago echoed in her mind like a haunting refrain: amnesia, unable to remember anything, including yourself.
The doctors instructed her that she wasn't able to come into the room until further notice.
'Whose (YN)?'
That kept repeating in her head.
You didn't even know yourself.
Worrying was an understatement.
Jihyo's thoughts were a whirlwind of emotions.
Her heart felt heavy, a mixture of fear and sadness coursing through her veins.
Guilt was crashing into her as well as all this was her doing.
She didn't know what to even think of fixing this, clinging to the tissue, her knuckles turning white as her worry intensified.
The minutes ticked by, each second feeling like an eternity.
Jihyo's gaze remained fixed on the hospital corridor, her heart skipping a beat every time someone approached.
She desperately hoped for a familiar face, a doctor or a nurse, to come out and tell her that everything was going to be alright.
That is until...
"(YN)! We heard he's awake! We're his parents!" she heard from behind as Jihyo turned to spot your parents, over the counter asking the receptionist.
A chill ran down her body as Jihyo couln't comprehend what they were going through.
She didn't even know if she can approach them.
"Jihyo!" She gulped as your dad spotted her and he made his way to her as the mom stayed to get some answers, "(YN), d-don't tell me it's true, does he not know us?"
Jihyo weakly shook her head as your dad got in front of her.
"Oh no..." He uttered as Jihyo's heart, whatever was left was sweeped away from hearing and seeing him.
"Jihyo," this time your mother came over and rather than words, she came and gave Jihyo a hug, "w-what happened, they told us that (YN) has amnesia, t-that can't be right, h-he has to remember us!?"
Jihyo felt a knife go through her.
She was the cause of this.
"...I-I-"
"Mr. (LN), Mrs. (LN), please calm down."  The doctor came towards them from the hall as your parents marched to him.
"You're telling us to be calm!? My son doesn't even know us!" Your mom yelled causing the room to have eyes on them.
"I know the situation is dire, but please, follow me and all will be explained."
"What is there to explain!?" Your mother shrieked.
"(Mother's Name)," your father came at her side, "please, I know it's hard, but we have to listen to what we can do."
Your mother turned to him with a glare, but tears forming as she gave a deep sigh.
"Fine..."
"Follow me please." The doctor was unfazed at the reaction as he grown accustomed to the reactions like this.
"Jihyo, come with us please," you father asked of her as Jihyo and your parents followed him and he led him to the window of your room.
The four looked through the window as you watched the TV in the corner with some commercials airing.
"He's awake..." your mother spoke and while it should be a momentous occasion, they couldn't even have a little spirit in that.
"Retrograde amnesia," the doctor began, "amnesia causes memory loss, some lose months, and some can lose decades. Your son, unfortunately, was the latter, sounds like since he was very young if he couldn't remember his own name or you two."
Your parents stiffened at the information.
"S-so...nothing?" Jihyo gulped as the three stared at you in the window.
"Well, he's able to do normal things like walking and talking of course. Those aren't memories, more like a function of the body that we're all accustomed to." The doctor explained. "But besides that...I'm sorry,"
Each person just took that hard.
"...W-what can we do doctor?" Your dad asked with your mom hugging his side.
"As I said before when he was in a comatose state, the best approach was to be around him. The best thing is for you two to talk with him, and try to see if he can remember anything big. Vacations, family, school, and someone important to him. If not then show him something important: locations, items, pictures, whatever he may think was important in his life. Or continue to do your daily activities with him, a recurrence may trigger his mind if he does the same sequences."
Your dad nodded.
"...what if that doesn't work," Jihyo spoke up as the three turned to her, "w-what if his memory doesn't return? What then?" She asked the doc in a panic state, she couldn't live with this.
"All I can say is that it varies between people, some get them back and as blunt as it is...some are forced to start over."
Jihyo felt like she fainted.
Your dad stared in disbelief.
Your mother...
"That's it?! Start over!?"
"I know it's not-"
"No! No you can't just say start over! That's my son!" She pointed at the window, "Seventeen years we've been living with him, creating every memory and you're telling us that we have to start over!"
"(Mother's Name)." Your dad held onto her tight as he said her name. "T-they tried everything they can. At least he's awake now. Believe me, I feel everything you're feeling right now. But we need to be calm and do whatever it takes to bring our son back. They've done everything they could to help him, now it's our turn."
Your mom just clenched her mouth as tears were dropping.
"He's strong (Mother's Name), he will remember, he'll push through."
About thirty seconds passed and your mom just took deep breaths as she looked at your dad and then back to the doctor.
"...I'm sorry."
"No apologies are necessary." The doctor said. "If anyone should be sorry it's me. You may speak to him but before you leave, we'll need to do some checkups before he's allowed to leave. If you have any questions, you have my number." He stated before making his way out to leave.
"Jihyo, do you mind us going alone." Your dad asked her as Jihyo shook her head and watched through the window at you.
Your mom and dad looked at each other, no words were spoken as they took a deep breath and went inside.
===============================================
Thirty Minutes Later
Jihyo waited in the corridor for your parents to be done.
She didn't feel like staring at them and sat on a bench in the hall.
"Start over..."
She could have possibly ruined your family.
All because she didn't trust you.
She had her eyes shut as the amount of guilt piled up to a never-ending total.
She didn't call her parents or (FN) about you.
She needed to be alone.
"What can I do..."
Eventually...
SWING
Your parents came out as Jihyo heard and turned towards them.
"Did he remember anything?" she asked, her voice tinged with nervous anticipation.
Their gaze dropped and shook their heads.
"We tried everything we could think of at the moment, but he doesn't remember a thing. Not even us," Your father explained as your mother's shoulders slumped with him, "like nothing. Like a total stranger,"
It was like the doctor said, you didn't feel anything.
"...I'm sorry," Jihyo stated as the two nodded, "s-should I try?"
"Go ahead," your father stated, your mother didn't say anything, "We'll uhm, inform the doctor, sorry Jihyo, it won't be as long as us. We want him to get home as soon as possible."
"I understand, I won't take too much time." Jihyo agreed and went towards the room.
She didn't even know what to think, as every emotion was attacking her mind at once.
Panic, sadness, guilt, shock...
She got near the door, took a deep breath, and opened the door, walking in and when she did, you turned from the TV to her.
"You're that girl from earlier." You said looking at her as Jihyo felt hurt from the 'girl' comment.
"...yeah, my name is Jihyo. Park Jihyo." She introduced as you nodded.
"Jihyo..." she hoped that would have caused something, "...I'm sorry, I-I don't recongize that name either. My parents or those two who were here earlier told me about you though."
"T-they did?"
"They said you were my friend, a good friend."
That stung her.
"...I-I am, uhm, may I show you some things?" You nodded while Jihyo pulled out her phone and went to the photo section.
"That's what my uh, parents did too. I also didn't know anything from that."
"Well, maybe this can work," Jihyo prayed as you nodded, "do you remember this?" She showed a photo of you and her around the first week of school, you and her were smiling while eating lunch at your usual table.
You investigated the photo as you leaned forward to her phone.
"Sorry no." You answered as Jihyo felt pain, but she didn't stop, sliding her finger across to show a couple of more photos of you and her.
"..."
SWIPE
"..."
SWIPE
"..."
SWIPE
"...I guess we are good friends," you stated as Jihyo nodded..
"Yeah..." she managed to say, even if she didn't deserve you as one.
"So you know me well then? Like them?"
She nodded while keeping her emotions in.
"Yeah, a lot. We've been through a lot together,"
As your gaze met hers, a flicker of recognition seemed to light up your eyes.
"A lot?"
She nodded and it was a small glimmer of hope, a reminder that even amidst the uncertainty, the bond you had shared was still alive.
"A lot and no matter what (YN), I'm here for you, no matter what. We're going to work through this together, and I promise you, we'll fix this."
Your brow furrowed as you tried to grasp onto the words she was saying, your mind struggling to make sense of the situation.
"Fix this?"
Jihyo nodded, her eyes unwavering as she spoke with conviction.
"Yes, your memories, we'll find a way to help you remember. We'll go through old photos, revisit places we used to go and talk about the moments we've shared. I won't let this amnesia beat you, not you."
Your gaze softened, a mixture of confusion and vulnerability in your eyes, regardless...your smile appeared.
The same one that Jihyo prayed for weeks to come and now, it pained her even more than seeing you slumber.
"Well, thank you, uh, Jihyo?" You said her name slowly as she nodded, "I guess I'm glad to have you as a friend,"
...and that's when she lost it.
Your smile frowned as Jihyo's expression contorted and her eyes started to blink rapidly.
"Are you-"
Jihyo then slowly came at you, hugging you softly rather than a sudden pounce once more as you recall this happening a short time back.
You heard a few deep breaths while you remained still, didn't know what to say or do as your gaze clouded with confusion and uncertainty.
For some reason, this didn't bother you as you didn't move your arms or made any attempt to have her move.
BEEP
"..."
BEEP
"..."
BEEP
"...I promise you (YN)," you heard now as Jihyo pulled back from you. You saw watery substance under her eyes as she stared at you, her hands on the side of your arms, "no matter how challenging it gets, I promise you, I won't give up." you felt a squeeze on your arms, "I'll be right here by your side, guiding you through each step, holding onto the hope that we'll find a way to make you remember together."
Your lips curved into a faint smile, a glimmer of trust and gratitude in your eyes as you nodded at her.
"You mean that?"
Jihyo nodded emphatically, her heart filled with determination.
"Yes, (YN). I mean every word. We're in this together, and I'll do whatever it takes to help you."
As their eyes intertwined, a silent promise passed between them.
A promise of resilience, of unwavering support, and of the unbreakable bond they shared as Jihyo's commitment was unwavering.
She'd wanted to help you and more though this is the first wall to break down.
After, when you do remember, she'd hoped that you'd let her be at your side still.
Then she dropped her arms, but her hands went to your right hand and took yours in hers.
"I...I miss you more than you know." She muttered as you stared at her.
"..."
A few seconds after, she retreated back a few steps, staring at you for a bit till halfway in the room as she turned around and left as you watched her leave.
When she did, you looked down at your hand.
You felt strange.
"Miss me? I guess we were really good frie-hmph"
A sharp hit came to your head and your eyes closed for a few seconds as the pain was gone like that.
"W-what was that?"
----------------------------------------------
Jihyo stepped out of your hospital room, her shoulders weighed down by a mixture of frustration and concern.
She thought you would remember something from their photos, but your memories remained elusive.
Walking down the corridor, she spotted your parents waiting anxiously.
Their faces lit up with a mix of hope and expectation as they saw her approach but Jihyo's expression revealed the disappointment she was feeling.
"No? Not even a bit?" your mother asked, her voice tinged with nervous anticipation.
Jihyo's gaze dropped momentarily before she met their eyes.
"I'm sorry,"
Your father's shoulders slumped, and a heavy silence settled between them.
Jihyo could see the disappointment etched on their faces, and it mirrored the frustration she felt herself.
Your mother's eyes welled up with tears, her voice quivering.
"I can't believe it...not being able to remember us, his life, us...that bastard took him from us..."
Jihyo knew who she was talking about.
No, she didn't ask them about suing Dan, she let it be as she didn't want to be associated with him anymore.
"He got what he deserved (Mother's name), there's nothing we can do for that. Now we have to focus on (YN)."
Jihyo nodded in empathy, her heart aching for both you and your parents.
Your mother sighed heavily, his frustration evident.
"...you're right (Father's name), we have to focus on (YN). And Jihyo,"
She reached out and gently squeezed your Jihyo's arm.
"Thank you. We appreciate everything you've done for us to start with, but we need your help even more now."
"I'll do everything I can Mrs. (LN)," Jihyo's determination shone through as she met their eyes, hiding the true guilt she had, "I care about (YN) deeply too, and I won't stop until he's back. I promise him and you both."
Both mom and dad gave faint smiles, happy to see that you made a wonderful friend in Jihyo.
"Thank you Jihyo, we know you will, well, the doctor said that we can take (YN) after an hour of checkups. I don't think there's nothing for you to be here at the moment and after we'll be leaving to home."
Jihyo nodded.
"I understand. Can you keep me on notice too please?" She said as your parents nodded.
"We will, don't worry. We'll let you be with him after a while okay." She said as Jihyo nodded.
"Thank you. I'll see you later then," they nodded as with a final nod of reassurance, Jihyo left your parents in the hospital corridor, her heart heavy but her resolve unwavering.
'I can't tell them that it was me...I can't...'
"She really cares for him doesn't she?" Your mom said as they watched Jihyo leave their sight.
"Very much. I'm happy he's friends with her."
"Me too...he'll remember right?"
Your dad turned to his wife and wrapped his arm around her torso.
"He will (Mother's Name), he will."
========================================================
ONE DAY LATER
It had been a day since you were released from the hospital, your memory still a jumbled puzzle waiting to be pieced together.
And now, Jihyo was standing outside your room, hoping that perhaps talking about the past could trigger something, anything, to help you remember.
She informed her parents when coming home and boy did she let the water works out as her parents comforted her, thinking the worst happened.
But when she informed them that you woke up with amnesia, they understood.
With comforting words, they were telling her that you'll pull through just like you pulled through with the coma.
It took twenty-ish minutes before she returned to her room, taking a while to begin researching what she could do with amnesia.
Turns out, there was no known cure.
The doctor's words about being around you were the only thing she could read.
And if that is what she has to do, then she'll do it.
She'll tell every word, every story, and visit every place the two have been.
She doesn't care if it takes a thousand stories or a thousand places to make you remember even a fraction of a memory.
If that thousandth trip did it, then she'll do it again.
But now looking at your door, her mind came to what happened before.
Before she wanted to be with you and here she was, a door away from you awake.
With a determined exhale, Jihyo knocked lightly on the door before entering.
KNOCK KNOCK
"Hello?" She heard like nothing.
This would have been an average door before, but now...it took all of Jihyo's willpower.
"...(YN)? It's Jihyo, from yesterday. May I come in?"
"Oh yeah, come in."
She found you sitting on a chair in front of your desk, a laptop in front of you and a contemplative expression on your face.
You looked up as she entered, your gaze meeting hers in a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
"Hello," You waved at her as she nodded.
"Hey (YN)," Jihyo said softly, closing the door behind, her voice carrying a blend of warmth and uncertainty.
"..." It's sad to think that here you were, looking like nothing had happened and yet, everything between was gone.
You offered a faint smile, though it was clear that her presence was a puzzle to you as Jihyo walked further into the room, her heart racing.
"What's up?" You asked as Jihyo needed to be strong.
For you.
"I wanted to be with you." She said, "Remember what I...said yesterday, I'm going to help you."
Remember probably wasn't the right word to use now.
"I do, so what's your plan?"
"I thought we could talk about the photos I have about us more. I didn't really have a chance yesterday."
"Oh yeah we could, I was watching some movie about large animals attacking people. Supposedly it's my favorite movie." You pointed at the laptop as Jihyo came closer and gave a small smile.
"Jurassic Park, it is your favorite, I had fun watching with you a while back. We could watch it again later on?" She suggested as you nodded.
"Yeah, that sounds good, so far it seems, eh though."
Jihyo at least had a smile on as hanging out with you was what she wanted to do the most before all this began.
"Well, the best parts haven't happened yet."
"I see," You shrugged and closed the laptop, and turned to her, "Guess we'll watch those together then,"
"..." Jihyo merely stared at you as you sounded emotionless.
"You okay?" You asked as Jihyo took a shaky breath.
"...sorry I'm-this reminds me of our times so I'm-..." Jihyo took a breath to relax.
"..."
"Sorry, it hasn't been long so I shouldn't be like this," Jihyo explained as you frowned.
"...I'm sorry too."
Jihyo heard and it hurt her to hear you say that.
"I'm sorry I can't remember anything quickly, believe me, I'm trying but-"
"Don't say you're sorry for that," Jihyo countered quickly, "I can't understand what you're going through, but I know you're trying your best, you always do in everything (YN)."
You gave a quick smile at her, but it turned flat.
"Hopefully, but now we have all the time to hang out like before. I mean I may not know anything, but just from now I can tell you're a pretty nice person, I wouldn't mind being with you more." You stated as this time Jihyo gave a quick smile as well.
'Even with his memory gone, he's still the same (YN)...but if he really knew...'
"Thank you, same to you (YN), you're everything great. Really, I'm not just saying that, you really are a great guy to be with," you nodded in appreciation, "we'll figure things out later, for now I'd just want to talk,"
"Sure, let's sit then?" you pointed at the bed as Jihyo didn't have anywhere else to sit.
She nodded and joined you as you two sat on the edge of the bed.
"So, how was yesterday coming home and staying here? Were you scared?"
You shook your head.
"No, my parents are treating me nice so there wasn't anything to be scared about. I didn't feel worried at all."
"Well that's good, your parents are nice people too."
"Yeah, they are. They were showing me a lot of things yesterday, but, yeah."
"Well that's okay, it's one day, we'll keep trying," you nodded, "so I saved everything that we did together in my laptop," Jihyo removed a backpack she had on and pulled a laptop from it, but turned to you, "you do know what a laptop is right?"
"Not really, my mom told me about that one," you pointed at the one on the laptop, "i guess it shows all sorts of stuff. There was this site called Youtube that had a lot of vidoes to show, she showed me who I followed and watched them this morning."
"...oh," Jihyo couldn't even comprehend that, she didn't think you'd lost general stuff like that, if that's the case, did you knew about phones? Cars? She'd hoped it wasn't that bad. "well, it's mainly a electronic that can give you information on just about anything, videos and shows and well a whole lot of things. It's pretty easy to use."
"Yeah, maybe you can show me?"
Jihyo nodded, but concerned was on her mind as if you didn't know this, it'll be like a whole new world for you.
"Yeah, but for now, pictures," you nodded as Jihyo went to her image gallery and had a set of photos ready before coming here.
"These were taken during our trip to a lake."
"Lake?"
"Yeah, there's a lake not too far and you wanted to show me because it reminded me of an old time."
You nodded as your gaze shifted to the photograph, your expression contemplative.
You stared at the image, your brows furrowing as you attempted to conjure up any hint of memory.
Jihyo's heart went out to you, her voice softening. "Don't try to think too hard, take it slow. Look at the photos, and I'll tell you what happened that day."
You nodded as one pic at a time, she explained that particular day.
Her words painted a vivid picture of their laughter, the feel of water at their feet at the shore, and the sound of wilderness around.
She showed the impromptu skipping stone competition they had, the way they had raced each other to the water's edge, fishing with a kit that you borrowed from your dad, and the way they had watched the sunset together till they left.
It was a top-tier day for Jihyo.
You listened intently, your gaze fixed on the photograph as if hoping that Jihyo's words would spark a connection.
"..."
"..."
"..."
Jihyo watched you closely, her heart aching with a mixture of sympathy and hope.
She knew that helping you remember wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to do whatever it took to fix that bridge.
"...sorry. I should know this."
Jihyo reached out and placed her hand on yours, her touch gentle and reassuring.
"It's okay, I'm not rushing you, it's your pace. I know it's not easy, but you're not alone in this (YN). We'll figure it out together. I'll help anyway I can."
As you looked into Jihyo's eyes, a sense of comfort washed over you.
Her presence, her determination to help you remember, was a lifeline in this sea of uncertainty.
Maybe, just maybe, with her by your side, you could weave forgotten memories and find your way back to the person you-
"Argh!" You held your head in your hands, pulling from Jihyo's as Jihyo immediately panicked, putting the laptop aside and kneeled in front of you.
"(YN)?! Hey!? A-are you okay!?"
As you held your head...
SQQUUUEEEKKKK CRASH
Wee woo...Wee woo...Wee woo...
THUMP THUMP
'Car...Blood...Head.'
Loud sounds and a voice were heard, someone you didn't recognize as you winced for a few seconds before the pain disapparated.
You opened your eyes slowly and spotted Jihyo's concerned look right in front of you, inches away.
"You okay?" You nodded slowly, "w-what happened?"
"I-I had a sudden pain in my head and...it's gone now," You informed as Jihyo looked at the top of your head.
"S-should I call the doctor? Your parents?"
"No, I'm good, really."
"...I-okay, are you sure you're okay," you nodded, but Jihyo didn't let her tension go.
"Yeah, but it's strange, I heard this sound and a voice." Jihyo rose her brows, "the sound was like something broke and I heard three words: 'car, head, and blood' w-what could those mean?" You questioned Jihyo as she looked away.
"Car, hea-" she turned to you, "have your parents told you of what happened to you?"
"Not much, just that something happened and-that's what those are?"
"I'm pretty sure, can you remember anything now?"
"..." You gave a blank stare.
"..."
"..."
You shook your head.
"Sorry, I-I don't-"
"Don't be, it's okay, don't think too hard after that jolt." Jihyo informed as you nodded, "Listen, I'm gonna tell your parents okay," then she gave a soft smile, "Maybe our talks actually worked." Jihyo's spirits, despite you getting hurt, increased slightly there.
"But it wasn't like yesterday though."
Jihyo's interest rose immensely.
"Yesterday? It happened too?" Jihyo questioned as you nodded, "Tell me."
"I didn't hear words that time, just a sharp pain like this one and it happened after you left. I was thinking of you and it just came."
'Thinking of...'
"About what?"
"About how we probably became friends and it happened. That's it. But nothing else."
"...so, me too? Right now?" She asked.
You nodded.
"...I'm gonna go tell your parents." You nodded as Jihyo stood up, "don't think of anything else while I'm gone, or if it happens again, tell me right away when I come back," she instructed as you nodded.
She hurried and left the room and you sat there looking forward.
---------------------------------
"And it happened twice with you?" Mom asked as Jihyo nodded.
"And he remembered those words specifically?" Dad stepped forward as Jihyo turned to him.
"I think because it's the most recent before he went into a coma. Remember the doctor said that he went it during the ride to the ER," Jihyo hypothesized as Mom sighed.
"I'll call the doc." Dad went to get his phone from the kitchen as your mother licked her lips.
"But how can he remember that though?" She questioned.
"At least it's something Mrs. (LN)." Jihyo responded.
"No, you're right, I-I should be happy, but, we've been showing him childhood films and photos and stories and nothing clicked for him, but he remembers the day he got injured? That's not a day I want him to remember."
"I know, me neither, let's hear what the doctor says," your mom nodded to her idea and it was a couple of minutes before...
"Okay, they're on speaker," your dad came in and held his phone in between the three.
"So he remembered specific words?" The doctor's voice was heard.
"Yes, 'Car, blood and head,' I think it's what you talked about during his ride to the ER," Jihyo informed him.
"It's his diagnosis. The staff was alerting us here of what to expect."
"But why those words doctor? Till now we've been showing him his childhood memories of shows and movies and pictures and nothing, but yet now?"
"Well, it could be since it was the most recent before his comatose state that he probably could remember those days easier. Tell me, was there something that could have been a trigger? What could you have been talking about during the two conversations?"
"It was me, he was thinking about me and he felt these sharp headaches in his head, once yesterday and just now, but this time was the words," Jihyo explained.
"Well, it's early to tell, but I think Ms. Park could be a key figure in this."
Your parents looked at Jihyo.
"Me?"
"Well early to tell as I said, but you could be the trigger that brings back the most recent memories. I noticed you were here with him daily as well, so it's safe to assume that you're a very close friend?"
"Uhm, well not for long, just three months," Jihyo stated.
"Anyhow, it seems that you and he have developed a, and if you don't mind me saying this, a strong connection that Mr. (LN) apparently reacts to. Now I'm not saying that his parents aren't important, but for Mr. (LN), it could be that more fresher memories are more likely to get triggered than the old, it's not well known but it does tend to be that way."
"So we should start with the most recent then?" Your mom asked.
"Add that with what you're doing, along with Ms. Park's assistance I'm sure (YN) will be able to recall something in a bit."
"But what if he only remembers up to a certain point doctor?" Dad spoke up this time, "Just those three months of him and Jihyo?"
"Well, that could be a possibility, or it could be a trail to lead to older ones, like a coma it varies between people, it's Mr. (LN)'s mind, there's nothing scientific or medical that we can do to have him recover those."
The three looked at one another.
"I guess it makes sense, but doctor, are these sudden pains bad?" Mom asked.
"It's not unheard of, people struggle with traumatic memories in particular since they're intense and they take control of our whole bodies. They can be visual flashbacks that cause us to feel physically ill and cause us to experience headaches, profuse sweating, stomach aches, and feel weak. I'm sure the accident he had will cause these pains, but should only be for a while. If it does continue, I would suggest coming here for a check-up."
The three exchanged some worried looks.
"Alright, thank you doctor."
"Of course, any other questions."
The three looked at another as your dad shrugged.
"No," Mom answered.
"Alright, well I must be off then, if you have any questions, contact me and I wish you the best of luck."
"Thanks doctor," "Thank you," "Bye,"
DING
And your dad hung up as the two turned to Jihyo.
"Well, at least he showed some sign." Dad said as your mother nodded.
"Jihyo, I know it's a lot to ask, but-"
"Say no more Mrs. (LN), I'll be with him every step of the way,"
"Thank you," she spoke and then turned behind Jihyo, "let's go talk to (YN) about this," Jihyo nodded as the
=================================================================
ONE WEEK LATER
"(YN)? Are you hungry?" Jihyo asked. "What about something to drink? I don't mind getting something for you."
You shook your head, "I'm still fine Jihyo. Thank you."
"Alright but don't be afraid to tell me, I'm here for you."
Currently, you and Jihyo were at the mall.
It's been a week since you left the hospital and you've remembered a couple of things through your head hurting.
While still alarming and concerned, Jihyo and your parents found that the doctor may have been right as both moments of you were in Jihyo's presence.
Thought it was only words of conversations you both had, nothing too major like their argument, but smaller hearings like everyday chatter.
While all were minor, your parents and Jihyo were happy that it was a start.
Hopefully, Jihyo can make you remember something major herself so today was a visit to the mall.
While it may be easier to start fresh, that isn't how she wanted it.
Not a chance.
She didn't want to create new memories with you. She wanted the old ones back, the ones that made them friends since.
True to her word, Jihyo has been spending time with you every day.
Once she got the word that she can hang with you, every day after school she would go straight to her home only to leave an hour later to your home.
Your parents didn't send you to school as they wanted to get a footing on you remembering first, worried that the students might just bug or ask many questions about you.
For now, it was just the parents, Jihyo, and (FN) that should worry about this.
She would just do whatever to pass the time with you just like the times before, there wasn't a moment where both weren't doing anything.
You just went along with everything she had to offer.
Jihyo brought you here to the mall today to see if you would remember anything at all for her, this was the usual hangout for you and her, walking down the mall, looking through each window.
Both hadn't bought anything, but she just wanted to walk with you, to see if you walking around might give help.
Thought that wasn't the case for you.
Around the first days, you were a bit uncomfortable with her, but as the days went by, you enjoyed Jihyo's company for some reason.
You can't explain it, but if felt...natural to you.
You just stared at her as she walked and wondered...what exactly is your relationship with her, she said you were friends, yeah, but she kept on trying to help you each day.
"So how have you been?" She said out of nowhere.
"I've been well." She nodded.
"That's nice, did you remember anything yesterday?"
You shook your head.
"Sorry."
"It's fine (YN). Let's see, how about we go there, but I need to use the restroom quickly." She asked.
"Okay." You said.
She then grabbed your hand and dragged you along the way into a hallway where there were two doors.
As she held your hand you stared it entangled with yours and had a...feeling to it.
"Just wait (YN), I'll be quick." She said, cutting your thought as she let go.
"Sure." You said as she went inside.
A minute passed and as she was washing her hands, she got a buzz from her phone from her pocket and after drying her hands saw a text from your mom asking how everything is going.
The reason she was texting her was that you didn't have your phone, they couldn't find it on you since the crash.
She replied with everything is doing okay and was met with more questions from her as she left the restroom.
"Sorry (YN) I-(YN)?" You were nowhere to be found.
"(YN)? (YN)!" Jihyo was panicking as she looked down the hall. She didn't see you anywhere.
She then went and opened the door to the man's restroom, but she didn't step in as she yelled out your name to which no answer.
She then rushed out of the hall and onto the main mall section and kept looking left and right.
"(YN)!" She shouted, ignoring the people around her glancing at her.
She kept pacing around, seeing to where you might have gone, fast walking to the left, she didn't know where to go.
"Excuse me?" She turned to three teens, "have you seen a someone who has (your characteristics)?"
She asked in a hurry but the three shook their heads as Jihyo didn't reply but went the other way.
"No no no, I knew I should have-" her eyes landed on someone's back at a stall in the middle talking to a man, "(YN)?!"
Upon hearing, the person turned and you looked at her.
"Jihyo?"
She ran at you and wrapped her arms around you as you couldn't do anything, but let her do so as your arms were trapped as well.
You tumbled a bit as Jihyo  let go after a bit and looked at you.
"Why would you leave? I told you to stay."
"I wanted to-" you pointed at the wares of jewelry-
"No, you should have waited for me (YN)! Walking by yourself is dangerous, no matter how far!" Jihyo explained in high tone, making you frown.
"..."
"Miss, I don't understand what's going on, but there's no need to get upset at him," the stall owner tried to lessen the tension of Jihyo.
She turned to the gentleman, and hearing his words, she eyed you and let out a silent breath.
"Come here," she held your hand and pulled you away from the stall and towards the other side of the hall, the wall of the mall and turned to you, "I'm sorry about raising my voice, I got really worried that you just walked away."
You nodded slowly.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you worry, I only went there because I wanted to get you something."
Jihyo tilted her head back.
"Me?" She asked as you nodded slowly.
"For what you've been doing for me, for your troubles. I didn't think I went far, it was just-sorry," You apologized once more as Jihyo's shoulders fell slightly.
Still in a hand hold, she rose both hands up and pressed her other hand on the other side of yours, trapping your lone in both of hers.
"No. Don't be sorry (YN). That's very kind of you, but please don't go anywhere without me. If you need something at all (YN), or want to go somewhere, just tell me. I don't mind going anywhere you want or anything you want to do, okay?" Jihyo spoke softly to you while you smiled and nodded, "and when you said 'for my troubles' I would never think that, never. And you don't have to get me anything, being with you is all I need (YN)."
She gave a lovely smile to finish her mini speech while your smile increased at each word with you nodding at the end.
"Alright, I'm-argh!"
You free hand went to your head as your trapped hand tried, but was trapped between Jihyo's hands, which were pulled just slight.
"(YN)!?" she knew you had to be remembering, "I-I'm here, I'm here," she squeezed your hand more, "I know it hurts, but it'll go away," she hated seeing your expression of pain while she couldn't anything.
As your eyes winced, you were seeing several images, mostly it was all Jihyo in one spot.
'First time eating...'
Tumblr media
 'Favorite place...'
Tumblr media
'Pretty cozy...'
Tumblr media
'The shakes are my favorite...'
Tumblr media
'Let's go for another...'
After ten seconds or so, your eyes opened slowly as you groaned just slight, your attention at Jihyo's concerned ones.
"You okay?" She asked quickly as you nodded slowly, "okay, just relax and when you're ready tell me what you heard."
"...I-I saw you," you didn't take a moment to answer as Jihyo's lips parted.
"S-saw? You mean you didn't just hear?"
"Y-yeah, we were both sitting somewhere and-...(Restaurant Name)..."
"(Restaurant Name)!" You jumped a bit to Jihyo's sudden yell, "I told you about that place! We go there almost every weekend, that's your favorite diner. I was going to take you after this!"
"...that's right, I get the vanilla chocolate and you get cherry?" You guessed as Jihyo nodded quickly.
"Y-Yes, that's our usual!"
Jihyo let out a blissful sigh, smiling largely and couldn't help but get a bit emotional.
"You remembered...you remembered something (YN)..."
"I-I did, but was it because you told me about the place and-"
"No, you remembered, that's all that matters, I'm proud of you (YN)," a small smile formed as you nodded, "h-how about we go there now, maybe you'll remember even more," Jihyo was filled with newfound energy and passion.
It worked.
She helped you remember even more and it looks like it's evolving to images now.
And something nice this time.
"O-okay,"
"Then let's go,"
Jihyo nodded and went to your side, wrapping her arm around yours, hand in hand and she led you towards the exit and quickly to (Restaurant Name).
"I remembered something..." you muttered as Jihyo heard, turned and smiled at you.
"You did (YN) and hopefully soon, everything," though some parts Jihyo hoped you didn't remember.
"Hopefully...thank you Jihyo, really."
"It's no problem (YN), I told you I'd be there for you."
"Still...also, with what you said a bit ago Jihyo, I enjoy being with you too." You repeated and Jihyo, well, her heart was racing.
Her face lit up as her smile grew and she wrapped your arm tighter, leaning into your shoulder to tighten the bond.
========================================================
THE NEXT DAY
DING DONG
Jihyo rang the door bell of your home.
After leaving school, she was greatly excited to spend time with you more.
Today she was hoping for another great day and hopefully more results.
SQUEAK
The door opened to reveal your mother.
"Hi Mrs. (Last Name), how are you?" Jihyo asked, but...
"..."
Jihyo's smile lowered with each second.
"Mrs. (Last Name)?"
"Is there something you'd like to tell me Jihyo?" She asked in a rather cold tone as Jihyo didn't know what was going on.
"Uhm, I don't know."
"Because (FN)'s parents came this morning," Jihyo's body froze, "and I was informed of what (FN) told them last night, that (YN) was at his place. That's when they gave me this," she reached into her pocket and pulled out a phone.
Your phone.
Right then and there, Jihyo felt her heart bursting with fear.
"(FN) had it this whole time and I figured it was best to give it to him, but before I did, I looked at it myself and I found some interesting messages."
Jihyo's shoulders fell and her stomach felt ill.
"Is it true? Were you were the reason why he left?"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...yes."
"Come in and sit, I want to talk," your mom sidestepped as Jihyo stepped in your home, sitting in living room couch.
To say that Jihyo's heart was pounding in anxiety was an understatement.
She was mortified at what was to come, her mind shutting down as she trembled in fear.
As your mother sat down next to her...
"Tell me everything, I want to hear your story." She asked in a rather same tone.
Jihyo turned to her.
"...Mrs. (Last-"
"No, tell me."
Jihyo gulped and nodded.
------------------
TEN MINTUES LATER
"-...that's why he was in the hospital."
Jihyo proceeded to tell everything, from the moment she started dating Dan to everything she said to him about the accusations of cheating, even telling her about the voicemail she left and even (FN)'s side of the story when you were there.
Your mother took in her story as Jihyo didn't feel at ease, even with confessing.
"...were you planning on telling me this?" She questioned
"I knew I had to soon. I am so sorry, it's not enough, I know. But I want to help (YN) out and then...I'll be gone. I promise I won't see him anymore and stay away from him."
"I read and heard your voice mails Jihyo," she then gazed at Jihyo who was hunched, "did you really miss him that much?" She asked.
Jihyo figured to answer with the fullest of truths.
"I couldn't do anything without him. I've spent every day, since he was missing, just thinking about him." Jihyo answered sincerely.
"Then answer me truthfully," your mother asked, "do you love him?"
"..."
"..."
That got her off guard.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...I-I do."
"Only after you caught this Dan guy?" She rebutted.
"..."
"Only after you realized that (YN) was right?"
"N-no I-"
"Because if you truly loved (YN)...then you shouldn't have hurt him, you shouldn't have dated that Dan, and you should have known that (YN) was only looking out for you."
"..."
"..."
Jihyo had her eyes sealed at that point.
"I know...you're right. I can't lie about that. I was so stupid. I know I can't take back what I said, I can't take back what I did...the only thing I can do now is to help (YN). Looking back, I don't know why I was with Dan, I truly don't anymore, because he means nothing to me...(YN) is everything that Dan's not...he's everything to me. He's been there for me since my first day here. He didn't even know my name and he was helping me out. Every day since then he's gone out of his way to aid me in studies, the language and shown the town around for me. And I can't help, but regret what I've done to (YN). But right now, I will do whatever I can to help him...not just because of what I did, but of what he's done for me."
Your mom continued to stare at Jihyo.
"And I promise, once that he remembers everything, I will leave him alone forever...so that he wouldn't get hurt-"
"No."
Jihyo looked up.
"Why would I want you to leave him? (YN) has been telling us about you, about everything that he's done with you before the incident. He wasn't afraid to give out details, but I could tell that he had something for you and that perhaps you for him if you kept on hanging out with him constantly as well, until Dan."
Jihyo flinched.
"Now I don't know how you got involved with Dan, but none of that matters anymore according to your speech...and you've been seeing (YN) every day since the accident and been helping him so much, that I believe you when you said that you regret it. So promise me that you'll never break his heart again."
Jihyo shook her head.
"I promise, never again." Jihyo said at once.
"And are you doing all this because it's your mess or because you truly care for him?"
"I truly care for him."
"Now let me ask again. Do you love (YN)?"
Jihyo nodded once.
"I do. From the bottom of my heart."
Your mom nodded slowly.
"Then that settles it."
Jihyo felt a ton fell of her, she admitted her feelings about-
"I trust you you'll make (YN) happy as you've made him before. And I want (YN) to hear it again. If you're that important to him, then maybe, maybe it'll trigger something."
Jihyo nodded.
"So...are we okay?" She asked.
"We're okay Jihyo. Everything is okay between us. I understand what happened, but at least (YN) is here with us. Don't worry. Now go see him."
Jihyo nodded and went towards your room, leaving your mom staring as she left.
==================================================================
KNOCK KNOCK
You opened the door to see Jihyo standing there.
"Hi." You said.
She gulped and looked at you.
"(YN)...I want you to hear something." She said.
"Okay, what is it?"
"You might want to sit."
You did so on your bed and she sat near you.
"I don't know your reaction to this, but maybe it'll bring something."
She then put it on speaker and brought it near you.
"Just listen."
You sat upright and prepared to listen.
(YN)
I know you don't want to hear me or probably even see me. Not after what I've done to you.
You were right. You were right this whole time. I caught him too. I should have listened to you, but I was so stupid and blinded by some stupid emotions and...that's no excuse I know, but I don't know what else I can say.
'Its Jihyo, but wh-'
"Hmm..."
You then grasped your head with the your right hand as it started to hurt.
"K-keep listening (YN)." Jihyo said, but she didn't like that she was forcing you.
...you know Dan right...
...in a relationship...
...personally make you suffer...
I know you hate me now and I don't blame you. Eerything we've done together and I threw it away, destroyed what we have that I need back.
You said you'd love me and I hurt you instead.
...why can't you understand (YN) that he loves me and I love him...
...you're trying to break us up so badly because you're in love with me...
...I would chose him over you...
Your head was hurting even more as the voice of Jihyo was increasing.
Jihyo watched and winced.
What I said to you, sorry isn't good enough, it was cruel of me to say so after you confessed and I can't make you forget hearing that.
I can't even think about how painful it was and I know I can't apologize for it.
Your head thumped with every phrase, visions started to appear left and right as you shut your eyes and grasped onto your head.
...I'm sorry Jihyo...
...I was only trying to look out for you...
...take care Jihyo...
"I know it hurts (YN), but keep listening, try to endure it." Jihyo said as she held the phone to your ear to aid you.
But if you are hearing this, please. I'm begging you to come back home. I need you. I need to see you. I need to hear you, be with you, talk with you, anything with you.
Tumblr media
I want to make things up, no matter how long it'll take I want to make up for what I said.
Tumblr media
Even if you just want to come and shout at me for my stupidity and being the ungrateful friend that I am.
Tumblr media
I don't care, I deserve every word if it means that you'll come back to me
Tumblr media
(YN), please, I need you now more than ever
Images of Jihyo popped into your head as you heard each sentence and you-
"E-Enough!"
Jihyo dropped the phone on the bed while you were holding your head as the memories of you and her were coming in.
You grunted as Jihyo watched you in pain, coming closer, it looked worse than the other times.
"I'm sorry...I'm sorry..." Jihyo kept saying with her hands on her chest.
You were huffing at the pain in your head, but it was getting over slowly.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...J-Jihyo?"
"..." She kept her eyes on you, not replying.
"I-...r-remember...alot..."
"..." She was afraid to ask.
"I-I remember...what happened...it's coming back..."
You looked at it as you recall her message.
"Do you mean it...everything you said on the message?" You asked her.
Once again, tears are coming down her cheeks.
"Yes, I mean everything (YN)...I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." She said repeatedly as she stood there, "please. Please forgive me (YN). I didn't mean what I said..." She kept wailing as she said whatever she could.
"Jihyo-"
"You were completely right (YN), I was stupid!"
"Jihyo-"
"I-I should have listened to you!"
"Ji-"
"You mean everything to me! I never meant to-"
"JIHYO!"
Jihyo straightened up after hearing your shout.
"Enough, stop it. Don't blame yourself for that."
Jihyo looked back down.
"But I hurt you. I said what I said, I made you crash and you forgot everything and-...I-I'm s-sorr-" She stopped talking and now was crying.
What she didn't expect was you stepping closer and hugging her.
But Jihyo brought herself into your chest.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She kept saying as you cocooned her in your arms, not saying anything till she stopped, when?
You didn't know.
-----------------------
Five minutes have passed still and Jihyo sobs turned into sniffles.
She stopped apologizing a minute in and you kept on soothing her.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...better?" You asked as Jihyo nodded slowly, "good," you pulled away from her as Jihyo looked up with her stingy eyes, "I don't blame you for anything Jihyo, I really don't."
"But-"
"But nothing, what happened happened, but what matters is what happens now and later. There's nothing we can do about the past. Nothing."
Jihyo felt a mix of relief and confusion.
She had expected anger, resentment, or at least some frustration from you.
Instead, you were being remarkably understanding.
"But," she continued, "I feel responsible. I wish I could undo it all. I was freaking out that you would be gone from my life (YN). Since I got here you were there for everything, helping me whenever you can and for that I am grateful. You're nothing like him (YN), you're everything he's not...you're everything to me." She was repeating the same she said to your mom as you smiled down at her, "I know I can't take back what I said, but I want us (YN) to happen...I love you." You smiled in return, "I love you (YN)...I truly do. I know I don't deserve you, but-hmph"
Jihyo stopped talking because you brought yourself down to her lips, pressing yours onto hers as Jihyo was in another world.
It felt like time stood still.
It was as if all the stars in the universe had converged in that single moment.
She felt a rush of warmth and butterflies in her stomach, and a profound sense of connection with you.
It was a kiss filled with a depth of feeling that words couldn't express.
As they pulled away, their eyes still locked...
"And I love you too Jihyo. No matter what you say or do won't ever, EVER, change that. Got it?"
Jihyo felt like crying again, not of sadness, but happiness as she nodded, her smile forming into a goofy state.
"Y-yeah, I-I love you, (YN). I will always love you."
"Then, Park Jihyo, would you like to go out with me?"
Jihyo reached up and her arms were around your neck.
"I would love to. And I promise (YN) I will help you remember everything else."
"That would be nice." You joked as Jihyo smiled and in a sudden, she pulled you to her and the two of you kissed you again as you pulled her into your body, arms were bringing each other closer.
And Jihyo's heart felt light.
She knew that this kiss was just the beginning of something beautiful.
She was overwhelmed with the incredible sensation of being loved and cherished by someone who meant so much to her.
It was a moment she would treasure forever.
========================================================
That's that.
So...the ending probably sucked. I went and revised it about four times now and the other endings weren't that great either. Just went with this one with the images of Jihyo, I even made it to look like the actual things that she said.
So hopefully everyone is happy about this one
Please comment if this final part was okay. Was it bad, was it ehh? Please I would like to know. I don't care how bad the comment is, just wanting to know.
Thanks for taking a pause in your life to reading this. Vote/Comment if you want. And thanks again.

But if you hold me without hurting me (r. stark)
But if you hold me without hurting me r. stark imagine
Pt. 5 of Oh, all I used to do was pray, Right when I felt the moment stop, And I might be ok, but I'm not fine at all, And the life I gave away
Pairings - Robb Stark x female!Reader
Summary - You have a long-awaited conversation with Robb. It changes things between the two of you.
Word Count - 1,133 words
Warnings - Angst, Possibly unbearable cheesiness
A/N - I broke the Taylor Swift title streak. In my defense, I have been a LDR stan since middle school and Cinnamon Girl makes me sob every time I listen to it.
Tumblr media
Songs I listened to while writing: Like Real People Do (Hozier), Cinnamon Girl, Carmen (Lana Del Rey), Me and My Husband (Mitski)
Tumblr media
Robb feels his heart start to beat erratically as he watches you and Jon. It is obvious that you care deeply about Jon as he does you. Robb knows that he has walked in on something private, feeling jealous but also wishing that he could be the one to comfort you as such. Your moment with Jon is interrupted when Robb clears his throat in order to make you aware of his entrance into your chambers. The sound startles you and causes you to turn in Robb’s direction. Jon also turns to look at Robb, his expression wary that Robb would misinterpret the scene.
Robb begins to speak slowly but his voice cracks ever so slightly, his heart contracting in his chest due to an onslaught of emotions. “Am I interrupting anything?”
You quickly regain your composure. “No, my lord husband, you are not. I lost a letter earlier today. Jon has calmed me down and agreed to help look for it.” You dismiss Jon from your chambers, assuring him that you will be okay.
Jon locks eyes with Robb as he leaves. Tensions eased between him and Robb once he saw Robb trying to fix everything. However, Jon still continues to be an advocate for you. His brother looks back at him, eyes filled with questions he knows Jon cannot answer. Robb just needs to know that you are going to be okay, regardless of what happened.
Your husband takes a step closer to you. He looks into your eyes, searching for the pain that he knows must be there. You are a strong woman but no one should be subjected to the kind of abuse that the letter contained. As he moves closer, you notice the letter crumpled in Robb’s fist. “Ah. It seems as I I do not need to search for the letter.” You say with a sad smile, “I take it that you have seen what my father thinks of me?”
Looking down at the letter once again, Robb scowls. The fury that had been burning inside of him returns to the surface. His head shakes in disgust and he quickly closes his fist tighter around the letter, as if the action would make the item disappear from existence. Robb nods once in acknowledgment of her question. “I did. It is nothing less than disgraceful.” He draws his eyes up to meet yours. Robb’s voice shakes with thinly veiled anger. “Your father is a cruel, cruel man. To say such things to you, his own daughter…well, it is unforgivable.” He says the last word through gritted teeth.
You motion for Robb to sit next to you. In your almost year of marriage, this is the first time that you have actually asked him to be near you. It seems as if he has realized this fact as well if his hesitancy is anything to go off of. Robb’s nervous movements are in stark contrast to your controlled stillness. A couple moments pass between you two before you begin to talk. Long-awaited and much-needed words begin this conversation. “It’s cruel but what he says is true. I have failed in my duty as a wife. I should have given you an heir by now.”
Completely stunned is how the maesters would describe Robb if they were here to record this meeting. You are still calling him your husband, even after everything he has done, but you are voicing something that Robb would never want to believe. Yes, it is a wife’s and therefore your duty to give him an heir, but he would never, never force you to conceive if you were not yet ready. He turns to face the fireplace, staring into the flickering flames as he realizes how truly damaged you have been from a childhood in the Frey household and the months as his wife. Both of you have tried to do everything that has been expected of you, yet it is you who has suffered the most and continues to endure. Robb is angry at the world. Angry at the cruel words of your father. Angry at himself for the way he has treated you. Sighing deeply, he speaks after gathering his emotions. “Do not let them make you believe that this is your fault. It takes two to make a child. I am just as much to blame for the situation we find ourselves in…”
Robb’s words trail off when he feels you place your head on his shoulder. It seems to be a night of firsts. Much like you never asked him to be near you, you have never initiated any sort of physical comfort. You both enjoy the feeling until you bring Robb back to reality with your voice breaking the silence. “I don’t blame you for anything. I want you to know that. You were forced to marry me, forced to make me your queen, while you still loved Talisa. Why would you want to leave her side for a Frey, especially when Talisa was carrying your child? I ruined your life.”
Feeling a tear soak into the shoulder of his tunic, Robb tilts your head up so he can see you clearly. “You didn’t ruin my life. I made a deal with your father. I knew what I was agreeing to when I crossed the bridge.” He reaches his thumb to brush the tears off your face. “This is not your burden to bear. It is something we must share. Something we must work through so that we can grow together. Something I should have worked harder on at the beginning of our marriage.” Your husband sighs deeply and shakes his head, trying to accept how much he has just spoken. Robb comes to the startling realization that he has never voiced this sentiment to you before, much less even admitted it to himself.
“Thank you. I need to hear those words said to me.” You say and place a gentle kiss on Robb’s cheek. A blush spreads across your face as you do so.
He freezes when he feels your lips brush against his skin. A matching pink tint blotches his cheeks like yours did. This is the first time you have shown affection for him and it feels…good. Robb smiles and leans over to place a kiss on your forehead, wanting to continue this newfound physical affection that you have started. “I’m here for you. I know I haven’t been in the past, but from this moment forward, I will always be here for you my queen.” The increased presence of his Northern accent betrays the emotions that are overwhelming him. Staring into your eyes, his gaze reveals nothing but honesty and sincerity in his gaze. Robb meant every word he said to you tonight.

A/N - Once again, thank you so much for reading. My ask box is always open for requests, comments, or if just want to gush about our lovely Stark boys.

CROSSHAIR IS SUCH A GIRL DAD

"you chose the wrong side" FUCKING LEAVE HIM ALONE MAN YOU'RE GOING TO KEEP MAKING HIM QUESTION SHIT AND HIS PLACE IN EVERYTHING FUUUCCCKK
Crosshair looked fucking terrified during that fight and for good reason too he was getting his ASS handed to him (granted he doesn't have much of one but still-)

Hey there, I was wondering if at some point you could do a one shot of female reader who has PTSD from being trafficked and Frank comforts her during one of her nightmares or flashbacks?
I’m a survivor and just could really use some measure of comfort right now. That maybe there are people who care. That I’m not alone. That things will get better. That maybe one day I can actually have a man who will love me.
Thank you so much.
my darling nonnie,
I just want to say how proud of you I am. I cannot even begin to imagine the horror you went through, and I am so very sorry that happened to you. I am so grateful to know that you made it out and you are safe.
you are absolutely not alone, not here. I can assure you that one day, you will meet someone who will take the time to listen to your story, and will love you through it, and do everything they can to make you feel protected. you are worthy of love and happiness, and nothing that was ever done to you was ever your fault.
I want to apologize for taking so long to get this to you, but I hope it provides the solace that you need. I want to thank you for trusting me with this, for sharing your story with me, and for giving me the opportunity to gift you with some comfort. I hope this makes you feel supported, and I hope it makes you smile. I am sending you every ounce of love I possibly can. ❤️

The faintest disturbance to your otherwise peaceful slumber instantly made Frank’s eyes flutter open. He had always been a bit of a light sleeper, and during his time in the marines, he had to be ready to wake up at a moment’s notice and prepared to jump into action if need be. This made it particularly hard for him to be able to sleep in, even when he really wanted to, but it did grant him the ability to rescue you from the lingering monsters that came after you in your dreams.
Opening up to Frank about your traumatic past had been a task that terrified you, and you had put it off as long as you possibly could. It was difficult to talk about in general. You didn’t enjoy having to relive that nightmare all over again, but sometimes beneath the depths of sleep, your mind didn’t give you a choice. The first time you had a nightmare in Frank’s presence, it was terrible.
You had been thrashing around in your unconscious state, warm salty tears staining your cheeks, and the feeling of strong hands holding your body down only sent your subconscious into a further state of panic, crying out for anyone to help. It was several minutes before Frank’s deep voice broke through your psyche, and your eyes suddenly snapped open to meet his horrified ones. Frank was straddling your hips, his large hands wrapped firmly but gently around your wrists, and he had them pinned against his own chest. You could feel the warmth radiating from his skin through your fingertips, and his heartbeat pounding wildly in his chest. His face was twisted up in a concoction of pure concern and unmistakable fear, and that caused an onslaught of overwhelming emotions to crash into you like a merciless tide against an unsuspecting shore.
Fear. Guilt. Shame. Panic. Insecurity.
It all washed down your cheeks in wave after wave, and apologies spewed from your lips like glimmering sea foam. Frank didn’t know what to do. He didn’t know what you needed from him at that moment, but he did his best to navigate you away from the storm in your own head to the safety of his serene embrace.
He had swiftly pulled you up into his arms so that he could hold you in his lap, cradling the back of your head in his large palm against his chest, pressing his lips to your forehead in a permanent kiss. His arms were wrapped tightly enough around you that you knew he wasn’t going anywhere, but not so much that you felt suffocated. Frank rocked you gently in his arms, alternating between shushing you quietly and whispering sweet nothings into your ear to calm you.
You couldn’t let go of him. Somewhere along the way, you had gone from being terrified of someone to touch you to needing Frank’s touch more than the oxygen in your own lungs. Even despite knowing about Frank’s past and what he had done, you knew he wouldn’t hurt you. It was extremely hard for you to trust anyone like that after what had happened to you, but you trusted him. You knew his intentions were always pure. Frank was always gentle with you. He never pushed you to talk if you didn’t want to. He respected all of your boundaries, even the ones you didn’t voice, but he could see. When it came to intimacy, he followed your lead and always made sure you were comfortable before he did anything.
But it wasn’t until that moment that you realized how safe you were with him.
That moment of clarity was a huge breakthrough for you, because you finally realized that you had someone that would love you through anything, and would go above and beyond to protect you.
That what had happened to you would never happen again.
Once you had finally calmed down enough to speak, you told Frank the truth about your traumatic past. Frank listened intently and without judgment, and held your hand the entire time, crafting the safe space you needed to get that weight off your chest. You could see the crestfallen shine coating his waterline as you spoke, and feel his rage for those who had hurt you in the way he tightened his hold on you.
Everything seemed to click into place for him. He’d had his suspicions that there was something you weren’t telling him. You were just as hypervigilant in public as he was. Shades of discomfort and anxiety coated your face whenever people moved into your space too suddenly, especially men. You had been weary of him when he first met you, and took awhile to warm up to him, but he had just assumed you found him physically intimidating, or that you knew the truth about his past before he’d had a chance to explain himself. Intimacy was a slow process in your relationship, not that he really minded, and he had picked up on your sensitivity to being touched.
Frank knew the signs of PTSD. He had seen it in several of his friends during his time in the marines. He saw it every time he looked in the mirror. And he saw it in you.
Your confession only made your relationship stronger with Frank. It helped him understand you on a more intimate level, and helped him figure out what you needed from him when things got bad, or when the shadows of your past came to plague your dreams.
Like they were doing right now.
Frank turned over from his position on his stomach to mold himself against your back, reaching over your hips to grasp one of your hands, lacing his fingers through your own as he brushed his lips against your ear. The little distressed whimpers he heard coming from you broke his heart, and he hoped that he could pull you from the horror film playing in your head before the climax.
“Wake up, sweetheart. C’mon, wake up for me.”
He lightly brushed his thumb along your lower stomach soothingly, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck, caressing your jaw with featherlight kisses from his plump lips.
“Listen to my voice. Come back to me, baby. C’mon, m’right here.”
He listened intently for the sound of your breathing to become shallow, and a rush of relief flooded his senses when he felt you start to grip his hand for reassurance.
“There ya go, attagirl. Come to me, baby.”
Frank could faintly see the reflection of the moonlight twinkling in your eyes as they shot open. The shuddering inhale that cut through the silence made his heart ache, but he fought through his own emotions to focus on you.
“Frank?”
The smallness of your voice coming out in shattered fragments hurt him more than any wound he’d ever had. He gave your hand a gentle squeeze, pressing his lips to your neck in a tender kiss as he whispered delicately into your ear.
“M’here, sweetheart. Right here.”
For a moment he just held you, his thumb tracing invisible shapes against your skin, giving you a moment of space to figure out what you needed in that moment. Sometimes you knew that answer, and sometimes you needed him to find it.
“Need somethin’, honey?”
“I…I don’t know.”
“S’alright. This one wasn’t so bad, yeah? S’gettin’ better?”
The sound of your deep exhale was loud in his ears. He felt the stiffness of fright slowly melt away from your bones as you relaxed into his embrace, and Frank knew he had you back.
“Yeah.”
For a moment it was silent, nothing but the echo of your confirmation and the summertime breeze rustling through the trees lingering in the air.
“Thank you.”
“Never gotta thank me, sweetheart. I wanna help.”
“You do, a lot. Sometimes I feel like…like I ask too much of-”
“Hey, don’t start that.”
Frank heard your soft sigh of protest, and he held you against him that much tighter in his own silent response.
“I don’t think I can go back to sleep.”
There was a twinge of guilt resonating in your soft confession. Frank glanced behind him to look at the clock on the nightstand, the lime green digital numbers reading three seventeen in the morning.
“You hungry?”
“What?”
The tone of your voice was a mixture of perplexity and amusement, but he was just glad you sounded like you again.
“Lemme take ya to breakfast, c’mon.”
“Frank, it’s like-what, two in the morning?”
“Three actually.”
Frank was halfway out of bed, prepared to drag you with him, when you gripped onto his hand and your melodic laughter filled the room. God, he had missed that sound.
“Where are we going for breakfast at three in the morning?”
“That diner down the street ya like. They’re open twenty four hours, and they’re one of the only goddamn places in this city knows how to make fuckin’ hash browns right.”
The more Frank talked, the louder your infectious laughter got, and he found himself grinning from ear to ear with pride.
“What are you talking about? What is the right way to make hash browns?”
The incredulity was clear in your tone, even though you were laughing so hard you could hardly speak.
“Gotta cover ‘em and smother ‘em. Onions, cheese, ketchup, maybe a lil hot sauce. There’s a right way and a wrong way, alright? The fact you don’t know there’s a wrong way means you ain’t ever had ‘em right, and what kinda man would I be if I didn’t fix that, huh?”
Frank didn’t wait for your reply. He lifted you up by your waist and gently folded you over his shoulder, his arm wrapped securely around the back of your thighs as his free hand came down against your ass in a light smack while he grinned widely.
“Now c’mon, baby. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”

"Falling around you" for the wip title game pls!!
Ps: I love your writing style sm✨🩷
you have chosen ✨angst✨ basically au where lando and oscar dated and broke up, which would've been fine, if it wasn't for the fact that before they broke up they rsvp'd to alex and logan's destination wedding and now have to share a room for a whole weekend because everything is fully booked and they CANNOT miss this wedding because oscar is logan's best man and lando one of alex's groomsmen anyway here's all i have for that so far lmao
“Hi, welcome to Sunnyvale Inn, how can I help you?” The receptionist asks, cheery smile on her face.
Lando, feeling decidedly less cheery after a three hour car ride that he spend mostly overthinking every decision he’s ever made in his life, smiles back tiredly. “Hi, yes, reservation for Norris?”
“Of course mister Norris, give me a moment,” she opens something on the computer. “Are you here for the Sargeant-Albon wedding?” She’s tapping away as she speaks, barely glancing up.
“Yes, yeah I am,” he says, glancing around the lobby. He wonders if there’s anyone staying in the Inn right now that’s not here for the wedding. Alex and Logan had a seriously impressive guest list, last time he saw. He’s just glad actually being in the wedding party means he can stay in the Inn the wedding is held in rather than one of the surrounding hotels.
“Wonderful! I have your reservation right here, it’s room number 204, on the second floor. Will you be needing two keys or is one enough?” She asks, reaching over to the little hooks behind her.
“Uh,” Lando says, frowning. “One? Why would I need two?”
“Oh, in case you and your partner would like your separate keys,” she says, handing Lando a singular key.
“My,” Lando pauses, scrunches up his now. “Uh. Partner?”
“Yeah!” The receptionist says cheerily, completely undeterred, gesturing at the computer screen. “A, uh, Mr. Piastri? It says here you booked a room together.”
Fuck. He forgot. Among everything, he forgot about this.
“Fuck,” Lando says. “No, that’s. Shit. Can I- Is there any way I can change that? Is there another room? Another hotel?”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Norris. Everything is fully booked. Mr. Sargeant and Mr. Albon did invite a rather large amount of people. The nearest hotel with an empty room has to be at least an hour away.” If the receptionist is surprised she does an incredible job at hiding it, though she does seem a little bit apologetic about the whole thing.
An hour away. Alex would kill him if one of his groomsmen was an hour away. Plus he’d have to drive, which means no booze at the party, which. There’s no way he’s going to get through this entire weekend without at least one shot of tequila. But that leaves-
Lando turns back to her, a little frantically. “I can’t. It’s not a possibility. I can’t room with Mr. PIastri, you don’t understand we-“
Someone next to him clears their throat, and Lando’s head shoots up only to reveal-
“Oscar,” he says.
“Hi,” Oscar says, and he looks. Lando wants to say good. Because objectively he does. His shoulders have gotten a little broader, like maybe he’s been going to the gym a little more consistently. His hair is longer, the little swoosh at the side almost turning into a curl. He’s wearing a nice shirt.
But there’s a tenseness to his shoulder, a twitch in the corner of his mouth, a distant look in his eyes. Lando hasn’t seen him look like that since, well.
Since they broke up.
“Uh,” Lando says, fiddling with one of his bracelets. “How are you?”
“Fine,” Oscar says, tone clipped. “What is this about a room?”
“Oh!” The receptionist says, tone cheery, clearly not reading the room at all, or reading the room perfectly and trying very hard to pretend everything is fine. “You must be Mr. Piastri.” Oscar nods, shoulders still stiff.
“We are uh. Sharing a room,” Lando says, biting at his lip. Oscar goes to open his mouth. “Hour away,” Lando says. “Logan would kill you. And Alex would kill me, so. There’s no other option.”
“Hm,” Oscar says.
“Would you like your own key, then?” The receptionist asks, holding one out to Oscar. “Room 204.”
“Thank you,” Oscar says, and then promptly turns around and heads to the stairs.
“Well, that went fucking great,” Lando says, crossing ‘avoiding Oscar at all cost’ off his mental list of ‘things to make this wedding at least semi bearable’, and then stalks off after him, with one last wave to the still broadly smiling receptionist.
--
There’s only one bed.
Of course there fucking is, because when they booked this room they were in love. Lando wants to fucking cry. When he steps into the room, Oscar is staring at it, like if he might stare hard enough he can split it into two somehow.
“I’ll take the floor,” Oscar eventually concludes, chucking his suitcase in the corner with a little more force than is probably necessary.
Lando frowns. “Don’t. That’s. Fuck, no you don’t have to do that. We’re adult fucking men, Oscar. We can share a bed for a weekend without it getting weird.” He hates this. He hates that they’ve come to this.
He’s got no one to blame but himself.
“Fine,” Oscar says. “Fine, sure, we’ll share.” And then he goes to walk out of the room again, pulling his phone out of his pocket as he goes, probably to text Logan about how he got stuck in a room with his ex boyfriend.
“Oscar, fuck, wait,” Lando says. “Are you going to be like this all weekend?” It sounds a bit desperate, pleading almost, and it’s so stupid that it’s come to this.
“Maybe,” Oscar says, without even turning around. “Maybe even forever,” he says bitingly, and the shoulders open the door.
“Hey, that’s not fair-“ Lando starts, but Oscar is already gone. Lando sighs, runs a hand through his hair, goes to put his own suitcase away. As he does so, he spots Oscar’s. There’s few stickers on it, and Lando’s eyes get drawn to one of the Eiffel tower, stuck in the top right corner. It’s from their first trip aboard together. Lando remembers buying the sticker, remembers Oscar rolling his eyes as Lando insisted it was all part of making memories, of remembering.
Ironic, how now all the wants to do is forget.
He dumps his suitcase in the opposite corner and goes in search of Alex. Or a bar. Whichever he encounters first.

HARVEY'S POV
My legs were numb. That sort of numbness when something happens that you can’t explain. It felt like my life just flashed before my eyes. That image of Claudia’s shaking lip… hearing her broken voice… I don’t think I’ll ever get it out of my fucking head.
“Harvey, I requested those trades be made an hour ago. Do you wanna tell me why… Harvey?”
I could see Jessica in front of me, but I couldn’t hear a damn thing she said.
“Harvey, what’s going on?” She closed the door, and I put a hand out to steady myself so I wouldn’t fall on the floor. “What happened?” “I fucked up,” I whispered.
“Yeah, no shit. You tanked our only opportunity to get a leg up on this Gustoson case. You’re damn right you fucked up-”
“No no,” I sat on the arm of the chair. My hands began to shake so I folded them together. Jessica saw.
“What the hell did you do?”
“I yelled at Claudia…”
She just blinked at me. “Is that seriously what you’re concerned about? Yelling at an associate? Okay, you yelled at an associate, what’s new? That might as well be in your job description.”
“No no no I didn’t just yell at her I threatened to do the one thing that I promised I would never do and now she’s gone. She left. I can’t- I don’t- I never meant to hurt her but she suggested that we file a motion to dismiss and I got so caught up in my anger about her accusing me of using her that I lost my-”
“Using her? Harvey, what is going on?” “I’ll tell you what’s going on,” Donna barged in.
“Donna please don’t-”
“Harvey and Claudia have been ‘working together’ for the last month and a half, when in reality he has been a selfish, lying, arrogant brat who has crossed so many lines it’s beginning to look like a Rorschach Test.”
“You know?” I felt my heart suffocate myself. I thought I was gonna throw up.
“In all honesty Harvey, no I didn’t. Not until Claudia just broke down in the elevator and told me everything. I cannot believe that you would use her like that. For your own personal satisfaction are you out of your fucking mind?” “Harvey, what the hell is she talking about?” Jessica’s voice was full of hostility.
“He thought that it would be a good idea to boost Claudia’s confidence by getting into her pants.”
“Donna it wasn’t-”
Jessica scoffed, covering her face. “What the hell is wrong with you? This has got sexual harassment written all over it, Havrey. Could you really be that delusional?”
“For fucks sake it wasn’t like that!” I screamed. Genuinely screamed and paced around. “I didn’t use her, not intentionally. God dammit I haven't been able to think clearly since the first day that I saw Claudia. She is an incredible lawyer and all I wanted to do was give her something else to focus on because she was afraid to be in a room with me. I just- all I wanted to do was help her find a little bit of confidence and oh my god this sounds so much worse when I say it outloud.”
Donna and Jessica exchanged a look while I slowly felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest and stomped on the floor with cleats.
“Okay Harvey, sit down and tell us what happened,” Donna steered me away from putting a hole in the wall to my desk.
“I don’t even know, Donna.” “Well while you two enjoy going down memory lane, I’ll be fighting for our firm's life. If you two don’t get your shit together, and by you two I mean Harvey, then… I don’t even know then.”
She all but slammed the door on her way out, patrons on the other side sending worried glances our way. I turned my chair so they wouldn’t see me.
“How long has this been going on?” Donna asked.
I dug my nails into my skin. “Almost two months.”
“Two months? Harvey, how could you not tell me?” “Because I didn’t want to,” I admitted. “And partly because I kind of thought you already knew. You know, the whole ‘Donna superpower’ shit you do.”
“I know I can’t believe I missed it,” she took the chair in front of me. I glared at her so hard I thought I’d light that hair of hers on fire. “Okay bad time for a joke. So, bachelor, why don’t you start from the beginning. And please, I don’t need to know the dirty details, despite my curiosity. Claudia is like a little sister to me and I really don’t want to picture you and her and oh my god I already am. Ugh, please start talking so I don’t have to be tortured.”
So dramatic. I was good looking, and so was Claudia. Why wouldn’t anyone want to picture us together? Then my eyes snapped to the chair she was sitting on. Oh god. Donna was in the chair that I was the first time Claudia and I-
“Get up,” I blurted out, reaching for her and placing her in my desk chair. God dammit we used that one too. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
We sat down on the couch and I rubbed my strained eyes. Here goes nothing.
“When Sheila first sent over the recruits from Harvard, I interviewed all of them. Except for one. There were thirteen associates but I only had twelve meetings set up. So I asked Louis if he was interviewing any of the newbies and he said just one. Obviously this person was some sort of idiot to be going to Louis instead of me, so I popped in.”
“Well, Claudia I think that you have some unbelievable potential at this firm and I’d just like to- Harvey, what are you doing here I am in the middle of an interview.”
“Oh I know, I just wanted to drop by and see how it was going.”
In front of Louis was this warm, chestnut brown head of sleek, silk like hair. She was wearing a lavender blouse and a black maxi skirt with a slit to the knee. She had on these black flats with pearls on them. Summer had just ended, and there was some remaining sunburn on her nose and cheeks. Her eyes were surrounded by prominent lashes and eyebrows, a fine line of makeup between the two; lavender, to match the top.
“It’s going great, now will you get the hell out and tend to your own interviews and stop barging in on my only one?”
“Harvey Specter,” I introduced, sticking out my hand. She looked from it over to Louis, who was just shooting me daggers.
“You just can’t help yourself, can you?”“Louis, I’m not trying to woo your associate, I’m just introducing myself to her. We are kind of name partners, you know. It’s the courteous thing to do.”
Again, all she did was look at my hand before slowly standing up. I didn’t miss the way she tried to subtly wipe her hand on her skirt.
“I’m Claudia. Claudia Martin.”
God dammit that was a pretty name. It sounded so sophisticated, so mature and would sound really nice next to mine. Or with mine. Harvey Specter and Claudia Martin. I don’t know why I thought of hearing or seeing ‘Claudia Specter’ one day, but I did. And I didn’t hate the way it sounded.
“Welcome to Pearson Specter Litt,” I gave a nice smile. It was clear she was already intimidated to be here, I didn’t need to add to that fire. She barely looked me in the eye for two seconds, but those two seconds made my head spin.
She had the most gorgeous eyes I think I’ve ever seen in my life. They were amber in the middle but had this ring of hazel around the outer rim. It was just… not something I’ve ever seen before. I didn’t want her to look away because I just wanted to keep looking at them.
And that blush… that I knew wasn’t her sunburn. Not the way it creeped up the side of her face, or at the base of her neck.
Jesus Harvey, stop staring at her. You’re probably giving off major stalker vibes.
“Well I’ll be around if you need anything, Claudia. Don’t be shy,” I smiled, the best charming one I could. Her full lips were in a tight line, her fingers picking at each other before she sat back down with Louis.
“Okay so you sabotaged Louis’ meeting with Claudia and thought she was beautiful? Why didn’t you just say that?” Donna interrupted.
“Didn’t you ask me to start from the beginning?” She snapped her lips closed. “So let me tell the goddamn story. Yes, I thought she was stunning. I mean, no one in their right mind would think otherwise. She is so pretty and so smart and twice the person I wish I could be. There is just something about her that I can’t shake from my memory.”
“Yeah we get it, you’re head over heels for Claudia. Now on with it I don’t have all day.”
I rolled my eyes.
“That was the first time I met her. It wasn’t long after that she started working here when I talked to her again. She was just sitting at her desk, Griffin and whoever else crowded around the opposite end of the bullpen. She was excluded and it made me feel bad.”
I’ve always thought Griffin would be at the top of my list for top associates. He was like me; only shorter, not as good looking, and had blue eyes instead of brown. Did I mention he wasn’t as good looking? Anyway, I had only one intention: get Claudia alone so I could talk to her.
Every day since she started a few weeks ago, I have watched her get off the elevator, walk through the office, and disappear around the corner. It wasn’t fair that she got to look like that, walk like that, and no one was around to appreciate it.
She was so fucking eye catching. And I didn’t want the other slobs at this firm to get to her before I could.
“Claudia, do you mind helping me with something for a few minutes?” I asked, voice just loud enough for Griffin to hear.
She looked up, pen cap between her rosy lips, and blinked. That flush creeped onto her cheeks. I tried not to smile.
“Sure,” she nodded once and stood up, following me out.
I was not so subtle with the look that I gave Griffin, and he wasn’t so subtle with the way he spoke.
“Is there something you need, Harvey? Claudia is in the middle of a very important depo documentation. I’d hate for her to fall behind.”
What a dick. “No, Griffin. It seems like you’ve got more important things to do with your book club than working on whatever Louis assigned you, so Claudia will work just fine. I prefer an actually hard working associate to someone who’s discussing whatever mediocre steak dinner you had at Texas Roadhouse last Wednesday.”
“Griffin’s eyes simmered and shot daggers into Claudia. But he didn’t open his mouth. I thought about punching him in the face for looking at her like that, and that’s when I realized I was fucked. That I was willing to do that for Claudia when it was literally the second time I’ve ever talked to her.”
“I’ll say,” Donna huffed. “What happened next?” “I just had her deliver some letters for me to the courthouse. I asked her something about Griffin, if they were ever acquainted with each other.”
“And what did she say?”
“She told me that Griffin was a total douchebag and tried to use his social status to get a leg up on her in class discussions, cutting corners to discredit her. It was so unfair and I just-”
Donna put a hand on my knee. “Relax, Harvey. Griffin isn’t here, stop looking like you want to put him through a wall.” “Well, Donna, I do want to put him through a wall because he has been an asshole to Claudia for no other reason than she was good at her job. It makes me sick.”
“When did you start becoming so protective of her? I’ve never seen you like this with anyone other than Mike, Louis, Jessica and myself. You must… really really care about her.”
“I think it was during the mock trial. She was always off to the side, always attentive, but never spoke up. I couldn’t stop myself from glancing over at her every once and a while to see if she wanted to be included. But she never did.”
“This case may seem simple, but the husband is a grade A asshole. He has done everything to cover his tracks and is gonna come at us with everything he’s got. Find me some evidence and make it good.”
They all branched off, heading this way and that. Claudia went to the only logical place, right to me.
“Hi, Mr. Specter-sir. I just have one question about-about the case if you’ve got a minute. If you have somewhere to be I understand and I can ask later,” she said quickly.
“Of course, what do you want to know?” I couldn’t help but think her stuttering was cute. I knew she was nervous, specifically around me; she always seemed so tense with me, so I made sure to always speak quietly and calmly with her.
“Was Mr. Saros the one who paid off that investment banker? Did the money come from his account directly or a different one?”
God she was so good. “It came from him and his wife’s joint account.”
Claudia had a slight grin to her lips, and she nodded before striding away. She was going to crack this wide open. I just knew it.
I went back to my office to wait it out, to see if any one could come up with an idea before Claudia. Before I knew it, it was three o'clock and I had a meeting to go to for another case Mike and I were working on. When we got in the car, Mike was looking at me with a knowing smile.
“What?”
He shook his head, “Nothing, just wondering how long you’re going to pretend you’re not in love with Claudia Martin.”
“The first year associate?”
“Don’t pretend you don’t know who she is. I see you watch her like a starving animal every time she comes into the office. And every time she leaves. And every time she asks Donna something.”
Uh oh.
“Oh please, I have far better things to do than get involved with a first year.”
“You didn’t deny that you were in love with her.”
“Do you want to get smacked? Or I could kick you out of this car at sixty miles per hour, see how you like the taste of asphalt.” Mike did not know when to stop pushing my buttons.
“I think you just proved my theory.”
“What theory?”
“That you are in love and you are incredibly protective of Claudia. I heard about what you said to Griffin when he offered his help because Claudia was ‘too busy’. You know he pawned that work off to her, right?”
My eyes narrowed and my jaw clenched, as well as my fists. I fixed my gaze out the window and took some deep breaths. Jesus… he had a point. A huge point. God dammit I’m in trouble.
“Mike knew before I did?” Donna sounded mildly offended.
“Well, not really. I never told him what we were doing. But I did tell him that I liked her. And when he told me that Griffin was pawning off his work to Caudia it sent me into a spiral. Shit, Donna… I am in so deep with Claudia. I really fucked up. I mean really bad. I made a promise to her that I wouldn’t treat her like the other associates because she wasn’t like the other associates. She was Claudia. And Claudia was- is- so much better than the rest of them.” “Why would you make a promise like that if you knew you wouldn’t be able to keep it?” “I had every intention of keeping it, but then all the shit with started happening when Louis found out about Mike being a fraud and he took that fucking case with Gerard and I couldn’t hold it together.” “Why did you even make it in the first place?” Donna asked, but I really didn’t want to tell this story.
I sighed, the type of sigh that fills your whole body.
“I was going off on Griffin one day, for being an asshole to some of the other associates, about pawning off his work to Claudia and she saw.”
“Griffin, I don’t care whose idea it was. You were the one to destroy his work, so you’re going to face the consequences.”
“It was just a prank, the entire document wasn’t supposed to be deleted.”
“You think tampering with another associate’s work is a prank? I hope when you go home tonight you think long and hard about who you wanna be as a man because as of right now, there isn’t going to be anything for you to come back to tomorrow. And you better pray to whatever you believe in because if there’s one person you don’t want to make an enemy out of, it’s me. Do you understand that?”
He clenched his jax, shoving his hands in his pockets. “yes.”
“You are going to be Louis’ personal associate.”“No, no way you can make me work for that man. He’s a total airhead.”“Yes, he is, now you two have something to talk about. You can bond over your selfish, outrageous egotistical behavior, it’ll be just like looking in a mirror.”
“Harvey I’m-”
“I don’t care what you are Griffin. You have no right to treat the other associates like that, especially Claudia. If I ever catch wind of you throwing your work load on her again so help me God I will make sure it is the last thing you do at this firm.”
If my point wasn’t clear enough by my words, the look I gave him would certainly do. He left my office without another word and I followed his movements all the way. But my eyes met Claudia’s. And they were wide and panicked. She quickly scurried away, head down and steps fast. She looked so afraid.
She wasn’t afraid of me was she? I mean, all I had done was rip Griffin a new one for being an asshole. And he deserved it, Claudia would never do something to deserve that kind of lashing.
“And so I promised her. I fucking promised her that I would never flip out on her and then I went and did exactly. God Donna… I am so fucked up.”
Her slim hand rubbed up and down my shoulder, but I only wanted it to be Claudia’s. I wanted her right next to me so I could go through all of this with her and explain that it wasn’t just some fling. Not to me. Never to me. I never wanted it to be temporary, she was… she’s it for me.
The familiar prick crept into my eyes, my nose, and the tears fell. Donna has only seen me cry a handful of times, but never over a girl.
But Claudia wasn’t just some girl. She wasn’t just some hookup or some prize to be won. She was Claudia Martin. My Claudia. The quiet, shy first year associate I had worked so hard to get out of her shell. It wasn’t just for my pleasure, I truly didn’t want to see her fall behind just because she couldn’t ask me a question.
I saw that look in her eye; hunger and determination. Just like mine. I wanted it to shine brighter than her smile. Which was equally as devastating as her work in the courtroom. But I just wanted her to feel comfortable around me and I didn’t know what else to do. She was like a frightened baby deer around me. A constant nervous wreck at the drop of my name. I didn’t want her to be afraid of me, I wanted nothing more than to be a safe space for her.
And maybe it’s just because I’m an idiot, but I’m realizing now that maybe I’m the one who needed the safe place. To just have someone to go to all the time. To share all of my proud moments and sneak little kisses and touches here and there.
I need Claudia. I need her.
Maybe I took it too far. Started at the wrong place. I should’ve offered to take her out to dinner instead of inviting her up for a drink in my office after her first case. I shouldn’t have done it so backwards, and it kills me that I’m only drawing that connection now. Why couldn’t I have thought of that earlier? She would’ve been so much better off without all the backwards, fucked up shit that I did.
But it was so nice. To finally have the one thing I have been craving for so long. She was so soft, and she was so sweet under my touch and I couldn’t help myself. As soon as I first kissed her it was end game. I didn’t want to kiss anyone else. I wouldn’t ever kiss anyone again, not the way I kissed Claudia. More than lust. More than just a desire.
Her lips on mine made my head go blank. I had an awful habit of having work thoughts creep their way into my head every once in a while. But never with her. Even when we were only talking about work, I couldn’t think about it. I only thought about her. About how brilliant she was, about how soft and warm and perfect her lips were on mine. About how she always made me feel at ease and comforted. I doubt she could ever make anyone afraid. Except maybe an opposing counsel.
If I ever had to face her in court… I know I’d lose. For one, I’d give her anything she wanted simply because she could put me on my knees with a single look. And normally I’d hate to let a woman have that much control over me, but for Claudia… I’d let her do whatever she wanted. And Second, she knows what to do. All the time. She never misses a beat, and is always listening. Even when you think she isn’t.
I am so in love with Claudia. I felt my heart crack open. My voice more or less does the same.
“Harvey…” “I am in love with her, Donna. And I think I have been for a long time.”
She was quiet, and a throat cleared. Mike was there in front of me, his hands in his pockets, a look of worry on his face. “Is everything alright?”
I saw Donna shake her head out of the corner of my eye. She didn’t say anything, but I knew she wanted to.
“I broke my promise to Claudia.” That was all I said. I heard his sharp inhale, and he came and sat in front of us. “God dammit Mike… I really messed up. I hurt the one person I couldn’t afford to and- and I don’t know what to do.”
“Go talk to her,” Mike said. “If you’re serious about how you feel about Claudia, then you need to go tell her that it was never… whatever you were doing before. She has anxiety, Harvey. She is going to let her brain tell her things about you that aren’t true. And you need to be there to soothe the fire before it does irreversible damage.” “Well, what do you and Rachel do when you get into an argument?”
“Harvey,” Donna said, “You aren’t Mike, and Claudia isn’t Rachel. Whatever they do might not work for you. You need to do what feels right for you and your relationship.” “I don’t know if you know this Donna, but I haven’t done something like this before. I don’t know how to talk to her. How to not make her anxious around me.” “We’ll help you,” Mike nods, as well as Donna. “We can come up with a plan but right now we’ve got a bigger problem on our hands.” What could be more devastating than hurting Claudia?
Nothing. The answer was nothing.
____
CLAUDIA’S POV
I toed off my shoes, leaving them in the growing pile by my front door. I sighed at it. Why couldn’t they just put themselves away?
My splitting headache was doing nothing to help either.
Before I could even get a thought about what I could cook for dinner, the doorbell rang. I swear to god if Greg was here asking me about those flowers on my wreath again I was going to smack him with it, throw it over his head and shove him back inside his apartment and-
“Claudia, it’s Mike. I know you’re here, can we talk?”
Mike? What the hell is he doing here?
I seriously debated giving my best housekeeper impression and deadbolting the door. But it was Mike, and he hadn’t done anything to deserve a cold shoulder. Oh god, what if Harvey was with him and I was getting set up? Oh shit.
“No, Harvey isn’t with me. I promise.”
I stalked to the door, pulling it open and glaring up at Mike. “The last time someone made me a promise I regretted it.” He just pressed his lips in a flat line. “What are you doing here, Mike?”
“I’m here on behalf of Harvey.” “Why?” “Because he’s worried about you.” Why is he worried about me? He made it very clear he didn’t give a shit about me. “He’s beating himself up over what he did.”
“Good,” that I didn’t restrain.
“Claudia, he is really shaken up right now. He didn’t mean to do what he did. Now, I’m not going to stand here and pretend I know all the details about what he did but-” “He used me, Mike. Plain and simple.” All I got was a raised eyebrow. “He told me he wanted to ‘build my confidence’ which I was actually naive enough to believe, and it led to my worst fucking nightmare. But he just got what he wanted, to get his dick wet and then was done with me.”
“Claudia, trust me, it wasn’t like that. Harvey would never use you like that. He wouldn’t dream of it, trust me.”
“Are you sure because it seems like that’s exactly what he did. He saw that I was hard working, manipulated me into working with him, and treated me like shit when I was just trying to find a solution to his goddamn problem. I have more self respect than that. To let him continue to get away with that.”
“Can I ask what he did?”
My throat closed, and my palms began to sweat. I knew my annoying blush was there by the way his eyes dipped to my neck.
“After I won my first case with him, he invited me up to his office for some drinks. Said something along the lines of wanting to get to know each other so I didn’t have to feel so nervous. So I went up, and one thing led to another and… I don’t know why I let it happen. I knew it would end badly. I can’t believe I let myself believe that he would be into me beyond anything other than his pure primal satisfaction. But he seemed so genuine and so caring. Like he genuinely wanted to help me, and some part of me obviously thought it was a good idea because it happened again. And again. And again. God, I sound like the biggest loser right now.” “No you don’t,” Mike gave me a soft smile. “If it means anything, those feelings weren’t one sided. I know it doesn’t mean much of anything coming from me but… Harvey is really really fucking sorry about what he did.”
I was physically shaking. Through my trembles, I managed to speak, despite my thoughts trying to shut me down. “It hurt so bad, Mike. I really like Harvey, and I thought he might feel the same way. I guess I was wrong. So… so wrong.”
“No, Claudia you’re not wrong. Harvey is a grade A asshole but he wouldn’t-”
“If there is any chance of Harvey sorting this out, you need to tell him to grow a set and tell me himself,” I have no idea where this confidence came from. “He needs to stop getting other people to do his job for him. If he can’t recognize that now, of all times, then… then I don’t think he deserves me.”
Mike blinked long, rubbing his fingers over his mouth. “Harvey didn’t ask me to come here.” “What?” What?
“Yeah,” he sighed. “I knew Harvey wouldn’t come tonight. I’m not sure he’ll come at all but… Claudia, he talks about you like I’ve never seen him talk before. He gushes over you to the point where it’s annoying. And when I went to go and talk to him about what our next move was for this case… Claudia, he was crying. He was sobbing with Donna in his office and-”
Good, I wanted to say. But it kind of crushed my soul. Harvey was crying over what he did to me.
“I’ve never seen him cry before,” Mike looked hurt, too. “He regrets what he said. I know he does.”
“I believe you.”
“Good,” he nods. “I don’t want to do his job for him and I think-”
“But that doesn’t mean I will forgive him for what he said,” and with that, I closed the door, locking it for the night.
_____
Saturday and Sunday were so agonizing. The last thing I wanted to do was go into an office after a weekend of anything but rest and relaxation. I was tired and hadn’t showered and needed some restful sleep. Not to be woken up three times a night by dreams of Harvey touching me. Those certainly didn’t help.
My mind kept replaying our first time together. Specifically when he said 'Oh, Claudia, you really are that innocent, aren’t you?’ Innocent and naive… just like he said that night. Who was I to think that Harvey would take any interest in me besides the fact that I was good at being a lawyer? I wasn’t special in any way, I think he just knew that I was easy to manipulate into doing what he needed.
There was no way in hell I’d ever do another thing for Havrey, the all powerful jackass, Specter again.
As I set my stuff on my desk, Griffin walked up. Great. Just great, what did this prick want?
“Hey umm… Hi Claudia,” he rubbed the back of his head. “I just- I’m sorry. About all the things I’ve done to you. You didn’t deserve it and I want you to know that you have always been six-times the lawyer I wish I could be. I was jealous and took it out on you. And I shouldn’t have so… I’m sorry.”
Did I just hear that right? Did Griffin Harper just apologize to me? What the fuck is going on?
“Oh,” great way to start, idiot. “Thank you, Griffin.”
He just gave me a short nod before scurrying away. Well, that was… unexpected. Certainly I couldn’t ever let us be friends, but it was nice to know he wasn’t my mortal enemy any longer.
I went about my business, plagued with thoughts and reminders of Harvey ever which way I went. Louis and Jessica sent me an email with some files to print out so I scanned them, proofed them, and sent them to the printing room.
God it sent a shiver down my spine to be back in here after he… don’t finish the thought don’t finish the thought-
“Hey, Claudia,” Donna snapped me out of my heated thoughts. “How are you?” “You can cut the bullshit now, Donna.”
She sighed, “it was a genuine question.” “And that was a genuine answer. I’m not in the mood.”
“Claudia-” “No, Donna. What Harvey did wasn’t okay, and I’m not going to stand here and pretend like what he did didn't hurt. Because it did and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it ever since. I don’t need you here to remind me.”
“Have you ever considered that Harvey may want to fix it?”
“No, Donna. I haven’t. And I’m not going to,” I stood my ground, squaring off my freshly printed papers before making more copies for Louis.
“What are you talking about?”
I scoffed. “Do you really think that I wouldn’t figure out what was going on?” “Again, what are you-” “I know Harvey just thinks that I am gullible and naive and easy to push around because he makes me nervous. And it’s true. Whenever I am near him I can’t keep myself composed and I’m sick and tired of being walked all over. I can’t believe I was stupid enough to let myself see otherwise, but I’m even more upset that you didn’t come clean and tell me.” “Claudia, no one is walking over you. And I didn’t know about any of this until you told me on Friday. Harvey came to you because he knew can rely on you and your abilities to get things accomplished. He wanted the chance to work with you and get you to trust him a little. You have to know that by now,” Donna was standing right next to me, blocking my way out.
“Maybe I do, but that doesn’t mean that I believe it. Donna, I am not some corporate power house that is gonna bring firms to their knees. Not like he does.” “Nobody does what Harvey does.” “And that’s my point,” I grit my teeth. “Harvey was trying to make me into a mini version of him, just like he did with Mike and it’s not what I want to be. Donna, I am not assertive. I am not reckless and willing to go behind peoples backs to get the job done. I like rules and regulations and the law. They are there so people abide by them, and Harvey, more often than not, doesn’t do that. Yes, I look up to him as a role model because I admire his tenacity. But that doesn’t mean I like or agree with the things he does.”
“And you think that I like it when he goes and cuts someone’s legs out from under them?”
“I didn’t say that. But that means you know how I feel. I can’t- I don’t… I don’t want to be around someone like that. It makes me feel like I’m suffocating. And worst of all he gave me his word that he wouldn’t lash out and treat me like the other associates. I cant believe that I was stupid enough to believe that Harvey would-“
Both of us stopped as someone pushed through the door.
Harvey…
“Donna,” Harvey’s mouth was pressed in a flat line. He jerked his head over his shoulder. Donna gave me a sympathetic look and turned on her heel. Where was she going?
“Wait, Donna don’t-” I whispered.
“You’ll be fine,” she gave me a firm look, patting my shoulder as she walked around Harvey. Oh my god… she set me up.
My heart felt like it was ripping out of my fucking chest. The last thing I needed right now was to be in an enclosed space with Harvey.
He stared at me, fussing with the cufflink on his shirt. “Claudia.” “I’m sorry, Mr. Specter, but I have to get these to Louis.” I tried to go around him, like Donna had, but he just let his body fall against the wall. Blocking the way. I couldn’t bring myself to look up at him and ask him to let me go.
“I want you to listen to me.” His voice was stern, in a demanding way, but not in a pissed off way.
“No, I am in a rush. Now if you’ll excuse me-”
“No,” he said with a shake of his head. “Come on, Claudia. Please just talk to me. I tried to call you but you didn’t answer and-.”
“I know, but I don’t want to talk to you. I want you to get out of my way so I can go do my job.”
“A little feisty today, aren’t we?” He pushed off his shoulder, taking a step towards me, I took one back. And another as he took one.
“No, I need to-” “Get those copies to Louis, I heard you,” Harvey acknowledged, but didn’t stop walking closer to me. My back eventually hit a copier and I almost fell over, but Harveys arms came to either side of my body, blocking me in. “And I don’t care.”
His face was inches from mine, chest inches from mine. I felt desperate for a breath. I forgot how to think, how to appear unphased. Everything he’s taught me has vanished from my mind. His eyes, much darker in this low over-head light, seemed to pierce my soul.
“What… What are you doing?” My voice was barely audible.
“I want you to know that I wouldn’t ever, ever, take advantage of you like that. I can’t even believe that you would think that. You think I enjoy making you a nervous wreck? Well, I don’t. It honestly makes me sick that even after all this time, you can’t trust me.”
“It’s not that I don’t trust you.”
“Then what is it? Because clearly I am not understanding,” his tone deepened, voice scratching in his throat.
I couldn’t- I didn’t know how to admit to him-
“I- I umm… Mr. Specter I can’t-”
“Stop calling me that, please, Claudia. Stop seeing me as your boss for one second and see me as literally anything else.”
I swallowed. Nothing went down. “Harvey… you are… you scare me more than anyone else I’ve ever met.” “Why?” his brows knit together. “What is it about me that makes you so afraid of me?”
“Everything.” I was shaking, visibly shaking in front of him. I looked anywhere but his eyes because I knew if I did I’d crack open and bleed my heart all over him.
His exhale was sharp enough to rustle the small hairs framing my face. “Claudia just-”
“I can’t be around you without feeling like I’m gonna drown in your presence.”
He was stunned silent for a beat too long. “What is that supposed to mean?”
“Harvey I told you I didn’t want to-”
“Please, Claudia, tell me why you are so afraid of me.” He was begging. Begging for me to explain.
“Because I know that if I let myself think for one fucking second that you actually like working with me I’ll drop my guard around you. And I cannot afford to do that because there are things I keep locked inside that I would rather take to my grave than ever let someone know.”
“And what, you don’t think I’m equally as terrified to have these feelings for you?” “Not like mine.” Harvey gave me a very concerned glance. “There, you asked me to tell you. Please just let me go.”
“No, not until you tell me what is haunting you so much you’re willing to let it eat you alive rather than just let it out for once in your life. Look, I get that you’re a private person, and it’s hard for you to trust people, but that doesn’t mean you need to keep everything bottled inside and let it rot you from the inside out-”
“For the love of guard Harvey it’s you,” I shouted, far louder than I meant to. “It is you that is driving me insane. I cannot go a single moment of my day without thinking about you. I am terrified that you are going to see right through me and figure out that every thought that goes on inside my head has to do with you because for some reason, known only by some sick and twisted higher power, I want you to see me the way I see you. I want you to want me as much as I want you and-”
I stopped because I ran out of air. And then it hit me so hard I saw stars. What the fuck have I just done? My vision began to black out, my heart beating too fast for my lungs to keep up with.
Harvey had backed up a step, mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.
I was going to throw up, I was sure of it. I tried to speak, but my mind had melted and oozed out of my ears.
I ran, I left the copies on the floor; at some point I dropped them. And ran. His hand caught my elbow and I shrieked, whipping around just as Harvey slammed the door closed, pinning me, yet again.
“You do not get to drop that ball and run away,” his voice had a darkness I’ve never heard. “Claudia, in what way do you want me?”
Frozen. My mind was utterly dysfunctional and useless. I couldn’t think, I’m surprised I remembered how to breathe. God his eyes…
“Claudia, please answer me.” Now his voice was tender, filled with warmth. His fingers tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. “You have to tell me in what way now or I’m… you have to tell me.”
“Why does it matter? I've already ruined everything I’ve had going for me.” I was meek with my words. Wimpy. Cowardice.
“Because it matters to me.”
“I want you, I want Harvey.”
“As in you want me, and not as your boss, Claudia?” He clarified. I had to shut my eyes, to turn my cheek to him so I wouldn’t see his reaction when I nodded in confirmation. “Fucking hell…”
“I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry. Just… just let me go and I can hand Jessica my letter of resignation right now and you never have to see me again-”
“Are you out of your mind?” Harvey’s caramel eyes were wide. “Claudia, I don’t want you to go. Not for one fucking second. Why do you even have a letter drafted?”
“But I just-”
His fingers gripped my chin, forcing me to look up at him when I spoke. God dammit… Harvey’s thump caressed my lip, pulling it down and watching it spring up. Slowly, ever so slowly, he dipped it inside my mouth. I couldn’t help the soft noise that startled out of me.
“Claudia… you have no idea how much I have been praying to hear you say those words. I have been driving myself out of my mind with what to say. How to say it and I- I don’t know how to tell you everything I’ve been wanting to. For weeks now.
“I have been thinking of you nonstop. I keep making up excuses and things to come see you during the day. I want nothing more than to get the chance to treat you right, and I want you to want it too. I promised myself I wouldn’t make a move unless you made one first because I knew how petrified you were of me. I can’t- I won’t have you be afraid of me if we do this.
“But I fucked up. I got ahead of myself and I didn’t go in the direction that I should've. I should've just asked you out to dinner, been a true gentleman rather than selfish. You have no idea how long I have been practicing what to say. I just made everything so much worse. And I wish like hell I could take it all back and do it all again because I am so so so fucking sorry for breaking my promise.”
I stared up at him, at the tears spilling over his lashes, and the flush on his cheeks. His lip quivered. He looked so vulnerable. So open and honest. Every part of me wanted to take it to heart, but that voice in the back of my head was telling me not to believe it.
“Harvey I-”
“Please, Claudia,” Harvey knelt to the ground, sitting back on his heels. “I will do whatever you want to gain your trust back. Anything… anything. But I can’t let you walk away from me. I want a real chance to make you happy, to give you every part of me. I will do or say or answer whatever you want but please do not leave me. If you truly don’t want me, tell me, and we never have to talk again. I will make it like I was never here in the first place if you told me to, but I don't think you want that. And I don’t want it either.”
Harvey was on his knees. Begging me to open my heart up to him.
“Please don’t make me regret this, Harvey…”
He let out a breath, and a smile accompanied the tears that fell down his face. He reached for my hand, and I let him grab it. His fingers were warm and smooth in mine, familiar and comforting as he gently tugged me towards him.
“I'm so sorry, Claudia. I will regret nothing more than the words I said to you. But I want to fix it, I want to be better. Not just for you, but for myself. But you are what makes me want to be better. I need to learn to control myself and take a page out of my own book to make that happen.”
Harvey rested his head on my stomach, and I let my fingers thread through his spiky hair.
“But I don’t want you to be afraid of me anymore. I can’t- I won’t let you be afraid to ask me a question. I want to be there for you, work related or not, but I can’t do it if you don’t meet me halfway. I do remember you making me a promise back, to not see me as a monster.”
My hand stopped, and he looked up. I wanted to agree, but I was still upset, and he must’ve seen that.
“Okay, that was a bad time to bring that up.”
“Yup.”
Harvey huffed a laugh, standing back up. His smile was sweet, his finger gentle as it swept some hair away from my face.
“You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, Claudia Olivia Martin.”
“How did you find out my middle name?”
“Donna,” he smiled wider. I just rolled my eyes. “I don’t really know how to do any of this, so I asked her for some help. I knew I had to do it myself. I just didn’t really know where to start and she’s… well, she’s Donna.” “Yes, she is Donna,” I smiled up at him. “But it’s gonna take me more than that to convince me.”
“Oh I have like seven other things lined up and ready to go. If you'd like to hear them. First, you are the most stunning, breathtaking, gorgeous woman I have ever met in my life. Second, I admire every part of you. All your good habits, your bad, your anxious thoughts and brave approach to life. Because they all make you you. Three, I am the biggest fucking idiot. For starting all of this off wrong, for yelling at you. For leading you to believe that I just wanted to get in your pants.”
“You’re also an asshole. A bit of a coward and a bitch. Did I say that you were an asshole?”
“Okay okay,” he placed his hands on my hips and I let him, doing nothing to hide the giggle that bubbled out. “Yes, I am all of those things. And, for the record, I did want to get in your pants, just not that way.”
“Of course you did, who could resist all of this?” My heart sped up when he looked at me over, a huge grin spreading his cheeks wide and bright.
“Looks like you’ve gained a little confidence, huh?”
“Well, I did have a not so awful teacher. That was before he betrayed me.” “Are you gonna stop rubbing salt into the wound?”
I faked a ponder, “Nope.”
“Claudia,” he pressed a tentative kiss to my cheek, then gauged my response before placing one on the other. “Olivia,” another kiss. “Martin.” He kissed my forehead, then the tip of my nose. “I will never be able to take back what I said, but I hope you find it in your heart to give me a second chance. Even good people are great at making bad decisions. I know I can be a better man, and I know you know that too. Just one,” a kiss to my left cheek, “More,” right cheek, “Chance.”
His lips hovered over mine, waiting for permission before he pressed them into mine. My heart was beating so fast. So strong, all because of him. All for him.
My eyes met his, “Okay, Harvey.”
Those devastating eyes ignited. His smile grew so wide I got lost in it with my own. I was pressed flat to him, my hands on his shoulders, his hands on my lower back. My ears were buzzing with my pulse and I hoped he felt how fast it was. Who knew Harvey had such a way with words? I wondered how long he practiced all of this in the mirror. Who knows, maybe he was secretly a hopeless romantic and-
“Claudia,” Harvey snapped me out of my daydream.
“Hmm?” “Please tell me I can kiss you.”
Oh. Right.
“And what if I say no?”
“Then I won’t.”
“And if I say yes?” “I’ll make sure it is the best damn kiss you’ve ever and will ever have.”
Sounds pretty good to me. I pressed up on my toes, arms wrapping around his neck, and finally let our lips say hello. It had been too long, It felt so right, so perfect. And I realized it felt like all the other times we’ve kissed; I didn’t want to kiss anyone else. I wanted to kiss Harvey. Harvey goddamn Specter.
I should find out what his middle name is from Donna to surprise him.
“Come over tonight,” he blurted out.
“What?” “Come over, let me cook something for you. We can make it our first date. A real date. Let me start this off on the right foot. Unless tonight is too soon and you need more time to heal and process or-”
“Just stop talking,” I literally put my fingers over his mouth. “I’d love to come over for dinner, Harvey.”
If I hadn’t been in his arms I’m sure he’d jump up and down out of excitement. He kissed me again, and again, and again. The slight stubble on his chin tickled my neck enough for me to tuck down into my shoulders when he kissed below my ear.
“Hey, Claudia, I just want to make sure- oh. Well, this seems to be going well,” Donna had a proud smile on her face, arms crossed over her chest.
“It is,” Harvey beamed down, never taking his eyes off of me.
“Good, I’m glad to hear it.”
“How much of this was your idea?” I asked.
“I suggested he get a horse and carriage to surprise you on your way out but he knew you wouldn’t want a grand gesture,” She said. “So I think that should say it well enough as to who came up with all the ideas.” When I looked back at him, he had a flush to his cheeks, and hid his grin.
“Wow, Harvey, I’m impressed.” “Well,” he shrugged. “I don’t know… I wanted it to be authentic and special. Something that you would take to heart and genuinely appreciate. So it’s the best I could come up with over the weekend because if I didn’t do it soon I was going to explode.”
“Seriously, Claudia. This idiot wouldn’t leave my house for two days. I had to kick him out so he could get a shower and change. Did you even sleep?” “You haven’t slept?” He shook his head. “Harvey, what- okay. We need to do our dinner another day because if you try to cook you might set your house on fire and that would-” “Nope, too bad. I’m fine, really Claudia. I can handle making dinner. I’ll leave early and take a nap if that would make you feel better.” “Yes, it would,” I sighed out, looking back at Donna who had a look that meant trouble. “What?” “You guys are adorable.”
I blushed. “Oh, wait! Before you go, what’s Harvey’s middle name? I mean, he went to you for mine so it’s only fair…”
“Don’t you dare,” Harvey pointed at Donna who all but melted the Wicked Witch of the West with her smirk.
“Reginald.”
“Reginald?” I repeated. “Seriously?”
“It’s a family name, alright?” He defended. “Now, if you two will excuse me I have a very important dinner to plan for an even more important girl. Donna, can you-” “Already cleared your schedule.”
“Remind me to give you a raise.” “Oh I’ve already written a bonus check, it just needs your signature.” “I’m surprised you didn’t forge it,” I snickered.
“I would’ve but having Harvey do it makes it that much more satisfying.”
Harvey just shook his head, but smiled at us both. “I’ll see you tonight, is seven good?” “Sounds perfect,” I nodded, relishing in his warmth as he pressed one more kiss to the top of my head before leaving.
“So,” Donna swayed on her feet. “I take it that things went well?” “Yeah, yeah it did. I was surprised, today has been so weird. Even Griffin apologized to me.” “Griffin? Really?” “Yeah,” I followed in step behind her towards the bullpen. “He genuinely apologized to me. It was so unexpected. Now this… I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t dreading this happening. But it turned out way better than I expected so I can’t complain. I need to stop expecting the worst case scenario all the time and believe that I can handle anything that comes at me.”
“Now that sounds like true growth and confidence,” Donna slung her arm over my shoulder. “And definitely something Harvey couldn’t have taught you.” “No, he didn’t. That was all on my own.”
___
As I packed up to head home for the day, my stomach was on fire with nerves about tonight. Not nerves, excitement.
“Hey, Claudia,” Griffin caught up to me right before the elevator closed. “Do you want to join us for drinks tonight?”
I just smirked. “Sorry, Griffin. I can’t, I have a date with Harvey Specter.” And I let the door shut before he could get on.
____
This building. For fucks sake his front door cost more than what I make in a year, probably. The door man had given me a bit of a side eye when I asked to be let up to Harvey. Well, here I was.
The bottle of wine in my hand wasn’t getting any colder as I paced outside of his apartment. Was I making this a bigger deal than it needed it to be? Most definitely.
I knocked.
Harvey opened it a few moments later, a smug look on his face. “I was wondering how long you were going to just stand there.”
God dammit. The heat rose up my neck and I looked away. “Just shut up and take the wine.”
He chuckled, plucking it from my grasp before stepping aside to let me in. I gazed up and into his hallway, following it down to the kitchen. Woah… holy windows. The already set sun lit up the sky with blues and purples, making all of this feel very cinematic.
“You didn’t need to bring this, Claudia,” Harvey smiled nonetheless.
“I just- I don’t know, isn't that what people do when they’re invited over?”
“Why are you still so nervous?”
Right to it, I guess. “What makes you say that?” “Well,” he sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets. He was wearing all black. He looked… too good for his own good. Or mine for that matter of fact. “For starters, you’ve clearly been running your fingers through your hair. Second, I’ve watched you fiddle with that string on your sleeve at least four times now.”
My fingers ceased their motion. I had been toying with it. “I like to keep my hands busy.”
“I call it a nervous habit.”
“Did you invite me here for dinner or just to pick on me for being anxious?”
“You have no reason to be anxious here,” he crept closer, taking my hand in his. Harvey gently kissed the back of my fingers. “There is no one here to watch, no prying eyes to hide from. It’s just me, Claudia.”
“And that is precisely what makes me nervous,” I did let a laugh bubble up. “But, you’re right. I guess there is no reason to be so… terrified.”
“Good,” he smiled, placing his hands on my hips. I let mine fall around his shoulders. “Dinner will be ready in a few minutes.” I turned to look behind me, a few pots and a pan of vegetables on the stove. Harvey’s hands still lingered on my sides as I peered over to look inside.
“I didn’t know the great Harvey Specter could cook,” I jabbed, making him roll his eyes playfully. “It looks lovely, thank you.”
“Told you, there’s more to the name than the title it comes with.”
From the table, I watched him plate the stir fry dish and bring it over. I was starving, and I made sure to eat my lunch a little later so I wouldn’t be ravenous by the time this dinner rolled around. I wasted no time taking a forkful and practically inhaling it.
“I’ll take that as a good sign?”
I nodded, “It’s amazing. Where did you learn to cook like this?” “Here and there. My brother owns a bar and restaurant back home, we used to like to cook together all the time.” “I didn’t know you had a brother,” I tilted my head. “That’s amazing, though. Glad you put those skills to good use.”
“Do you have any siblings?”
I hummed, “Yeah I have two brothers. I’m the baby of the family.”
“Am I going to have to win their trust one day?”
My laugh echoed through the spacious dining room, “No, they’re pretty cool. Vince, my oldest brother, is married, has two kids who are in college. My other brother, Caleb, is the one you’ve gotta watch out for. He’s my twin and very vocal about the men in my life, especially when he doesn’t think they’re good enough for me.”
“I see,” Harvey gave me a look I knew all too well.
“Yeah, he can be a pain in my ass sometimes. But I love him, he always stood up for me when I was too afraid. Whether someone was picking on me in school or tried to get one up on me at a bar, he was always there. He’s just protective of me, they both are, but Caleb… he’s always had my back.” “It’s good to have those types of people on your side,” Harvey’s smile was so bright.
For about an hour we ate and had dessert. I don’t know how, he probably asked Donna, but he had my absolute favorite chocolate cake. Coated in a thick butter cream, it practically melted in my mouth. I wasn’t shy about telling him how delicious it was.
“I could marry this cake,” I knew I was being dramatic, but I didn’t care. “If I could take this cake, and mold it in the shape of a man, I would.”
Harvey grinned, looking from the cake on his plate, back up to me as I spooned another mouthful. He dipped his finger in the frosting and swiped it across his cheek. I blushed, so hard, and he just laughed and laughed.
“You think you’re funny, huh?” I had to put my face in my hands.
“I do, actually. Why don’t you come over here and clean it off for me,” Harvey spoke dangerous words. I raised my eyebrow in question, but he merely scooted his chair back in response, palms turned upward.
Now or never, I thought.
I stood, my bare feet padding quietly to Harvey. This is where I had confidence. Could use his own game against him. Because up until this point, all Harvey knows about me is that I am a nervous wreck in front of him.
The cards have no longer been dealt in his favor.
I swung my leg over his, perching on his thigh. I took my thumb and ran it across his face, collecting the decorative icing off his cheek, licking my thumb clean. His eyes tracked my movements, especially when I stuck out my tongue and showed him the mess.
His throat bobbed, and his eyes darkened.
“Where did that shy, blushing Claudia go?” Harvey’s voice sent a chill down my spine.
“Away, for now,” I smirked. “There are plenty of versions of Claudia you haven’t met before.”
“And who exactly is this version?” He asked.
“That depends,” I huffed. “Are you going to let me have what I want or are you going to make me earn it?”
Harvey’s hands crept up my thighs, cupping my ass gently. “You’re gonna let me choose?”
“You better choose carefully.”
“And why is that?”
“Because,” I said. “You can either let me take what I want, or try to take what you want. But I’ll let it be known, that isn’t possible. You won’t be able to resist me long enough to uphold that promise.”
“Oh, you think I’m that easy?” Harvey countered, tightening his hold on my body. I let out a whine, enticing him into my game further.
“I don’t know, Harvey.” I ran my hand down his chest, grinding back and forth on his thigh. I leaned close to his ear, “I can be your every fantasy or your worst nightmare.”
I pulled away from his body, taking a few steps back and towards another hallway. I assumed that’s where his bedroom was, and judging by the screeching of the chair against the floor, I was heading in the right direction.
The first door I pushed open was, thankfully, the right room. His clothes were hung up neatly in the closet on the opposite side of the room, the city below shining onto the walls. Harvey shut the door quickly, turning on a lamp beside his bed.
Harvey grinned like the devil and crushed his mouth to mine. I didn’t waste any time letting his tongue tangle with mine. Harvey kissed like the god he was, like a true emperor. He tasted like pure sin, like the cake we were just sharing.
My hands went to the buttons on his shirt, fitting them through the tiny holes and pushing it off his shoulders.
“Mmm wait, sweetheart,” Harvey broke our lips apart. “I don’t wanna do it this way tonight. Let me take care of you. Please.”
Well, when he sounded like that, who was I to resist him? I let him lay me down, his body between my legs as he placed the most tender kiss on my lips. He moved down my chest, slowly lifting my shirt and placing his mark on my stomach. Up my chest, and my neck.
“You are so beautiful, Claudia. And I can’t believe I get to have all of you to myself. I can’t wait to make you feel so good.”
I sighed out, letting my eyes close as he explored my body. He was forward with his choices, but he wasn’t ever harsh. He was so soft. So loving and so caring. No one had ever made me feel equally nervous or excited as Harvey did. But now… I wasn’t afraid of him. I don’t think I could ever again.
“Is it okay if I take these off?” “I wasn’t sure you knew how to ask for permission,” I giggled. He just scowled, but I nodded. “Of course, Harvey. Do whatever you want.” “Don’t-” he swallowed. “Don’t say things like that when I am trying to be sweet and nice to you.”
“I think you’re forgetting that I like it when you manhandle me,” I smiled up to the ceiling before looking at him between my legs. “Sorry, carry on.”
He laid a not so gentle tap to the inside of my thigh before removing my skirt. The chill of the air spread goosebumps across my skin, even more when he placed kisses from my ankle to my hips bone.
“God I could spend all day between your legs. They’re so perfect,” he praised, spreading them wide so he could fit his torso between them. “You’re so fucking hot, Claudia.” I flushed, beet red, and turned away from him. But his fingers brought me right back.
“You don’t get to be shy now, sweetheart. Not tonight, let me see all of you.”
“I’m all yours Harvey.” Our eyes locked, and the sparks flew. His lips were on mine, hurried, but not starving. It was intense and passionate and everything I could’ve asked it to be. He lifted my shirt over my head and slipped off my bra from behind. Thankfully his chest was warm against mine.
From one second to the next, Harvey swooped me on top of him and rolled, tugging the sheet with him. When they were freed, he laid me back down and put them over his body.
“Oh, guess I should get these off,” he grinned, pushing his jeans down his thighs, his briefs going with them. Man… what a sight to behold. Harvey wasn’t shredded, but it was clear his boxing habits kept him in good shape.
There was something about him that just made me want to crumble and fold.
Harvey’s lips were hot as they moved all over me, nipping and biting and leaving tiny marks here and there. Before he could lose all his resolve, he reached over to his bedside table and plucked a foil packet from a little jar. Classy.
“Doing okay, sweetheart?” He smoothed down my hair.
“Yes, Harvey. I’d be better if…” I locked my legs around his middle, pulling him to me. “You just got on with it.” “Such an impatient little thing,” his grin gave away his facade.
“Oh please, don’t act like you’re not craving this as much as I am.” “You’re right,” he smirked, lining up and pushing all the way in. a low groan escaped his flushed lips. “But I know you can’t get enough of this.”
I breathed heavily, clinging to him. His hips stirred, slowly pulling back, and sinking all the way in. Harvey rested his head on my shoulder, tongue making patterns on my ignited skin. I tugged at his hair, lips working on their own to find all his sweet spots.
I raked my nails up his back, not missing when his hips slowed and he moaned. So I did it again. His thumb found its way between my legs and circled around where I wanted it most. He wasn’t kidding when he said he was going to take care of me.
Harvey took his time, making sure that I was feeling good and got what I wanted. This was so different from the feverish moments we’ve had in the office. But it was somehow way better. Well, it could use one thing.
As he laced our fingers together, I moved our hands up. He stopped kissing me for a moment to give me a puzzled look. But I slipped his grip from mine and placed his hand on my throat.
“I don’t need you to go all ‘sir’ on me tonight, but just give me this. Please.” I did the best I could with my eyes to lure him in, and it worked. It tightened, but it was never tight. It was just there, a reminder of the part of him I was going to get to see whenever I wanted.
He started to let his control slip, and I knew it was hard for him to be so gentle. But I appreciated it so much. I let some of my control slip as well, just because I wanted to rile him up. His breath quickened, and so did his hips. His thumb was relentless between my legs and I could feel my high approaching.
“Come on, sweetheart, let go. Make yourself feel so good for me.” There it was, the Harvey that kept me up at night. That has plagued my dreams for the past few days.
I met his hips with mine, and my release crashed over me when I wasn’t expecting it. I shook in his arms as he continued to move, chasing his own time.
“Fuck, Harvey,” I gasped. “Let go for me, you did such a good job making me feel good.”
He cursed, tucking his head down momentarily before crushing his mouth to mine, not shy about how I was making him feel. His body went rigid, and the praise streamed out of his mouth.
“Fuck fuck Claudia… god you feel so good. You are so perfect for me. So soft and warm.”
My lips would surely be bruised tomorrow morning, but I didn’t care. All I cared about was being here with Harvey. About carrying him through the aftershocks of his release. I rubbed at his back, kissed his neck and cheeks. When he lifted his head, he had this dreamy look on his face.
“You look so hot,” he ran his thumb across my cheek, bringing me in for another kiss. “Thank you for giving me a second chance.”
“I’m glad I decided to do it. I can’t decide which Harvey I like more. This one or the one who calls me sweetheart.”
“Did I not call you sweetheart tonight?” “You did, but not the way you do when I call you ‘sir’.”
“Ahh, I see,” he smirked. “As much as I would like to think that I could flip a switch right now, I don’t want to spoil this moment with you.”
“If you don’t want to spoil it, then you should take us into the shower.”
And then I was in the shower. Hot water streaming between us from the rain shower head. His hands were soft as he kneaded my body; they particularly felt nice on my ass, especially when he added his lips to the mix.
“You are so amazing, Claudia. I cannot stress that enough.” “You’re doing an amazing job,” I smiled, kissing him. “You’re not so bad yourself.”
“I know,” he grinned, smacking my ass before lathering up his hands and running them through my hair. It was hard to not fall asleep standing up. “Sweetheart, if you keep making those noises it is going to be very very hard to not take you right here.”
My eyes flew open, his very apparent arousal pressing into my backside. Well, alright then. Go Claudia, you sexy son of a bitch!
“And who’s to say that I wouldn’t want that?” “I am trying to hold back, you know. I wanted tonight to be different, to be special. I didn’t want it to be heated and rough and-”
“Harvey,” I turned, pressing a hand to his chest. “I know.” “I wanted to ‘make love’ or whatever they call it in those cheesy romance books you read.”
I laughed out loud, picturing Harvey curled up on the couch with a book in his hand, a fire in the fireplace. “Nobody says ‘making love’ any more, babe.” “Babe?” “Yeah, babe. I figured you wouldn’t like sugar, or honey bun, or baby for that matter.”
“Don’t make me sound older than I am, please. For fucks sake I passed the Bar when you were in highschool.”
“It doesn’t bother me all that much anymore,” I admitted, wrapping my arms around his neck. “I thought it would, but it doesn’t really make a difference to me.”
“Good, I’m glad it doesn’t freak you out,” he smiled. “And, for the record, I hope it doesn’t freak your folks out.”
“It won’t.”
He lifted up a brow, “How could you know?” “Because I already told them about you.” I felt him go tight. “Relax. They knew who you were already and they couldn’t have been more excited that I found a caring, respectful, well respected man.”
He let out a sigh, “and your brothers?” “They don’t know yet, but don’t worry about them, either. It will be okay.”
“When did you become the consoling one? It’s weird.” “I know, right?” I giggled. When I looked into his eyes, there was a fondness to his gaze. He was looking at my body, but not in a way he had before. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Harvey shrugged, “I just love you so much, Claudia. And I am so proud of how far you’ve come in just these first couple of months.”
My heart hitched in my chest, then beat so wildly I wasn’t entirely sure it didn’t burst through my skin and land in his hands. I froze. Mike had been right. Harvey wasn’t just some cock, high strung New York attorney that couldn’t decipher his own feelings. He seemed incredibly in tune with his emotions and that couldn’t be more attractive.
I just kissed him. I didn’t know what else to do other than kiss him. He had to take a step back to support our combined weight. Harvey’s arms were strong around my waist, his lips reassuring and just as firm as his grip.
“I love you too, Harvey. So fucking much.”
____
The comforters pulled tight, Harvey's body pressed behind mine… I couldn’t think of a more relaxing way to end the night. Especially after I slipped to my knees in the shower and showed him just how much I loved him.
“You don’t know how long I’ve been dreaming about having you in my arms one night. All night long.”
I hummed, scooting back so his chest met my back, his legs molding with mine. “I may have fantasized about it once or twice as well.” “Have you now?” “Again, there are several versions of Claudia you haven’t met before.” “And I look forward to coaxing every single one of them out with my mouth… my tongue… my hands… my-”
“Tomorrow,” I whispered, letting my eyes lull shut. “We can do it all again tomorrow. On the table, on the counter, on the couch-” “You’re not helping the situation here, you know,” he tugged at my half-dried hair. “Don’t get me started, sweetheart. I just might not let you get any sleep tonight.”
I clenched my thighs together. This was going to be such a sweet, tortuous game to play. And I got to play it every day. Every night, if I wanted. He wouldn’t be able to resist me. I had a secret weapon.
“Whatever you say, sir.”
His hand was wrapped around my throat, forcing my head to turn back to look at him. He clicked his tongue, eyes more awake than they had been a few minutes ago. “Oh sweet, innocent little Claudia. I guess you haven’t learned your lesson yet. It’s okay, I’d be happy to give you more instruction. I think I recall saying that eventually I would break you down over and over again until all you could remember was my name and how to breathe. Well, sweetheart. What do you think? Because I think you can still form coherent thoughts. I think it’s time we change that, don’t you?” I nodded, “Yes.”
His grip tightened and tightened and tightened. “Yes what?”
I smirked, climbing into his lap and taking him into my hand. “Yes, sir.”
