YEAH. GOD. injustice clex gives me SO many feelings because the lex there is someone who has genuinely tried to do the right thing, and you get the impression that his friendship with clark has been good for him! this is a lex that is in a much better mental and emotional place than his canon self, but that makes it hurt even worse when he finally faces the fact that clark has crossed a moral threshold that lex can't pull him back from.

and the fact that he does genuinely love clark makes it that much harder. lex is used to toeing the line and operating in a morally gray space, so the thought that clark would be the one to go to far isn't something lex has ever considered until then.

Injustice really gave me some of my favorite evil!superman tropes; all of the good things about Clark are shifted slightly and become, frankly, terrifying.

He can sense Bruce’s heartbeat from anywhere on Earth. He can track Bruce and his allies down in an instant and burn them to ash with his eyes. He’s intelligent and driven, skills from his time as a journalist.

What was once comforting — knowing Clark was always listening and able to come to your side in an instant — is now your undoing.
