ok y’all i finally finished the neflix live action avatar and…….don’t hate me……..but i enjoyed it 😭 my standards for entertainment is honestly on whether or not it entertained me, so honestly i question my standards.

first off, the visuals and score was absolutely amazing. the fight scenes were well choreographed, and the bending, which i was super nervous about, looked actually amazing.

i think we can all agree the writing and dialogue was pretty choppy at times, and the delivery could be better at times. but i also think (most) of the energy of the original characters was captured well. katara honestly got done the dirtiest because why was she so…….not passionate??? i’m hoping later on she gets more so because that’s a key trait of katara. i was very disappointed with that :/

what they did to suki too……..i liked her being a little awkward and such because it makes sense but i felt like too much of her character was dedicated to her having a crush on sokka. like where is her attitude, her ferocity?

i think aang was played very well by gordon cormier, especially considering this is a child actor we are taking about. his line delivery isn’t going to be great and yes he is a real boy so he can’t be as cartoony as some would hope but i think he was absolutely adorable.

surprise surprise, i loved dallas liu as zuko. i think there were some pretty whack line deliveries but he really captured the anger and cringeyness of zuko well. his martial arts were also also incredible, his fight scenes were my favorite to watch. the scene with him crying quietly on the bed when ozai banishing him shattered me, his subtle acting is underrated honestly.

i have my beef with ian ousley as sokka mostly because of the controversy and such, but i can’t lie he did play sokka well. yet again, as for the last characters, some line deliveries were iffy but he was still a very believable sokka.

so for the writing, i have LOTS OF OPINIONS. there were things they cut that definitely upset me, and that was just because of their lowkey questionable pacing. as much as i hate the slimeball, i missed a lot of the interesting parts of zhao’s story that they cut like his agni kai, jeuong jeuong (aang’s fear of fire??), zuko SAVING him. i feel like they had something interesting there with building a fake alliance with him and zuko, and they didn’t build more off it. [edit] that so, the dude who played zhao had me losing my shit. his line delivery was hilarious and i just love that zhao just gives that manager no one likes/that one creepy math teacher in high school vibes (only combination i could think of y’all).

the additions to zuko’s story was something i absolutely loved. i found myself actually getting very emotional with a lot of the flashbacks, and the 41st division being his crew 🥹🥹 but then i find myself being upset that we were shown other flashbacks so early (like the death of katara’s mother??).

i actually hate the hate azula’s actress is getting. she’s playing a 14 year old……like a 14 year old?? she wasn’t even in season 1 in the og so ofc she’s gonna not be the same, i’m hoping this means they’re building up her up to her fierceness in season 2.

one last critique PLEASE GET A WIG BUDGET GOOD LORD THOSE WIGS WERE BAAAAD. and also a lot of their costumes looked fake or like plastic this was actually my least favorite part 😭

overall, not as horrible as people make it out to be, i had a good time but obviously the og will always be the higher quality product. i’m just glad the young actors seemed to really be passionate for the project :)

Riddle

He hates the summer, he's more of a fall or spring person because he likes seeing the colors and the slight coolness of each season. However, he does like the fact that he can spend more time with you because of the school holiday

he loves reading with you while sitting in a cool cafe (loves air conditioners haha) but he also likes walking along the seashore on a sunset. He won't say anything about why, but it's really because he's lowkey a romantic (just emotionally constipated)

Riddle won't be super into going to a waterpark or doing some more extreme activities, but if you want to it will take a lot of convincing before he agrees. Let his inner childhood be happy and take him to a waterpark haha

Overall, he prefers cooler and slower activities but he doesn't mind the occasional wild side of the summer. He enjoys sitting with you and eating fresh fruits too!

Leona

Would've just stayed napping all the time during the summer because he just loves the warmth. The sunlight and the slight haze that it brings just makes him sleepy. What would make this better would be napping with you!

He actually loves the summer! He doesn't like the cold that much, and it's a long holiday so he'll take that as an excuse to do other things than sit in front of a desk. He may be interested in studying but he also enjoys exploring different interests he has

If you enjoy more wilder activities than napping, I feel like he would be down for it. At first he might grumble, saying he's not interested and that it's too far away. However, after you show him some of the waterpark's photos he'll be like "pack your things we're going"

If you guys go to a waterpark or the beachside, you'll have to convince Cheka not to tag along with you two or you will have a third wheeler by-choice on all of your trips. Cheka's cute, you love him being with you two, but Leona doesn't like getting embarrassed by his nephew haha

Azul

"Darling it's better down where it's better take it from meee" — Azul at some point during the summer. He will convince you to go to Coral Sea with him, even if he himself won't transform into his merform he thinks the summer is better without the sweltering sun

Azul feels more like a fall/winter person. He likes sitting in front of a fireplace, a warm drink in hand, while reading his favorite books or being an academic weapon haha. However, if the summer means he can spend more time with you, he'll choose the summer season any day!

He honestly would love for you two to just swim around in the sea together, he might give you a tour of his hometown. But if you don't want to go into the water, you two will find yourselves on the shoreline probably building the most intricate sandcastle together (potentially making a child jealous on the beach haha).

Azul might not agree to waterparks because he's scared of heights and he doesn't want to burst your eardrums with him screaming his head off. However, his inner child may be interested in the waterslides that you show him and may give into your begging haha

Kalim

He was the one that asked you to go on a waterpark trip. He loves thrills and what better way to cool off than with the coolest slides plus nice pools?

Kalim loves the summer even though back at his home the sun can be blazing. The summer is the time for a long break, for fireworks, etc. It's just nice to see all of his friends and family again, and to spend more time with you!

If you prefer slower, more relaxed activities however, he'll be down for that too. He might give up on the book he picked up and just sit with you while leaning his head on your shoulder but it's nice to just be with you. He's super flexible and open-minded, so you won't find anything he won't do

Overall he's totally the best person to spend the summer with because of the energy he brings during the season. Also if you need water, he does have his unique ability haha

Vil

He honestly has a love-hate relationship with the season. He loves the sunlight and the summer fashion items that he can look through. But he HATES the hot, humid, sweltering weather. Loves the winter or fall because of that

He doesn't love waterparks but he would rather find a concert or film festival to attend. He likes to stay cool but also is an arts enjoyer. If you happen to be interested in concerts or other festivals, he'll definitely get vip tickets for the two of you haha

You could convince him to go to a waterpark with you, but it might take you a lot of begging. He doesn't like waterparks because of how crowded they get but also because it feels like a lot of work for him. However, it does look like fun, and his inner child may want to get on a really big waterslide

He will be wary of fans that might try to get paparazzi photos of the two of you while doing your summer activities. However, they won't really bother you two since you guys are good at hiding from them haha. Expect aesthetic photos from him too

Idia

He doesn't really like the summer because it's so hot and he doesn't like getting sunburnt, but at the same time if he's able to be cooped up in his room (that has a full powered ac) and watch summer animes with you then he loves it. I feel like he's a winter, spring person. He likes the colors of the spring and the winter makes him feel cozy

He doesn't enjoy the sun but will want to do a bonfire with you if you insist on visiting the beach. He likes toasting marshmallows with you and listening to what video game lore you are interested in this year.

If you ask him about waterslides or a waterpark, he might be a bit hesitant. He's not the best with large slides, but at the same time they sound like a blast. Ortho on the other hand will be begging with you to go to a really big waterpark. It's a 2vs1 match so Idia will have to go haha

Overall he likes the summer because it means he can spend time with you. Perhaps you two can have your romance-anime-summer-episode this year too and watch the fireworks!

Malleus

He doesn't like the summer because it's so hot, but at the same time he doesn't like freezing weather because it reminds him of his home where it's a bit lonely. He does like spring because of the flowers, but the summer is about to become his favorite because he likes spending time with you

The two of you might go traveling to a new location together and seeing museums, different restaurants, etc. He likes to learn about people and just everything around him, so it might be fun to have a trip somewhere new!

He likes to see the sunrise or sunset on the beach with you too. He likes listening to you while watching the glow of the sun turn pink, you also look beautiful in the golden hour. He might get lost staring at you because of that haha (it's really cute)

He's never really been to waterparks, so he would be totally down to trying it out. He chooses the wildest rides too, since he thinks it won't be as bad as flying. He has an absolute blast there but he might get badly sunburnt haha

Demon Slayer Characters and if I Think They Can Walk in Heels

Now that I’ve moved into my new place, I’m just trying to get some stuff sorted out so apologies for the delay, I swear I’m working on your requests T_T

In the meantime, here’s this post that I finished a few days ago that I started during finals season

Mitsuri Kanroji

She doesn't really wear heels unless she's going out somewhere

Mitsuri will wear heels if you take her to a club, a date, a restaurant, and any other nicer event

But honestly, she prefers running shoes!

They're convenient, comfortable, and they tend to match their outfits more often than not

Do not get me wrong, Mitsuri can definitely rock a pair of heels

I would say that the highest she can go is six inch heels and that's it

Anymore than that and she's wobbling

Mitsuri's favourite pair of heels is a knee high gladiator sandal that's all gold, and maube about 4-5 inches high?

It pairs lovely with her favourite dresses and skirts, especially when she's going out of her way to turn a few heads

I also think that she's the most graceful out of everyone here

Overall 9/10 she absolutely slays this

Obanai Iguro

He thinks it's stupid that he needs to clarify this at all

Can Obanai walk in heels? Without a doubt

Your next question should be if Obanai chooses to wear heels

And shockingly, he does

I think that Obanai will sometimes wear a two inch loafer heel just for some added height

Hella confident in them too, look at him go

Obanai will totally wear them to work, class, or anywhere he feels like putting on a little bit of effort into what he's wearing

I think on more fancier occasions, like a high end date or club, he might wear some pointed toe stilettos with a nice pair of slacks

Honestly he's not really one to exclude heels from his wardrobe, he's just weirded out by how fascinated people are on this topic

Tengen Uzui

Do I think Tengen can wear heels? I know for a fact he can

But I just think that he never does because he can never find any in his size

Poor guy

To be fair, this man is fucking huge

I even have problems finding boots that fit my calves, deep down in my heart I know that Tengen has it so much worse

Cause even if he manages to find something that fits his foot, it might not fit the rest of his leg

He's actyally really devestated about it

All he wants is a nice pair of pumps to match Hina, Suma and Makio

And maybe a pair of lobster claws...

3/10, a slay in theory but not in practice

I WILL GIVE HIM THIS, if he manages to pay for a custom pair of heels, he will probably rival with Mitsuri in who looks the best in heels

Sanemi Shinazugawa

He says he can walk in heels

But I assure you, he cannot

I think that Sanemi is lowkey intimidated by the results of the other Hashira on this list and now he's in too deep to back down

So when asked if he can wear heels, he will lie to your face

"Obviously, you think I'm gonna allow a pair of shoes to get the best of me?"

Sanemi, you've got a big storm coming

All his machoness goes away the second that he puts them on

Why is he walking with his knees out...

He's not even wearing stilettos, no

Sanemi's wearing three inch cork wedges

They don't really suit his style so he'll never go out of his way to wear them

I think after embarassing himself like this, he's never going to want to learn how to walk in them

Shinobu Kocho

Can absolutely strut in six inch heels no problem

I think that Shinobu wears heels often, especially if she's going to be out in public where she is certain she's going to encounter someone she knows

But I don't think she enjoys wearing them

In some way I think Shinobu wears heels on a semi-daily basis to compensate for her short stature

She wants to be on equal standing with others and in a way, this is her way fo tring to achieve that

Two inch boots aren't going to stop her from being taken seriously

She does try to find some light in her circimustance though

Her favourite pair are these cute mary janes, and she has another pair with a platform sole

So even if you see her wearing heels, please don't mistake that she finds them powerful to wear

It's more of a social thing really

Kyojuro Rengoku

I am going to say this as nicely as I can

Please be patient with him, he's learning T_T

He can still get to where he needs to go, he just looks a little unstable???

Kyojuro would really appreciate if you held his hand a little

Though I will say, he is enthusiastic about learning!

In a few months he can probably walk just fine in them

I don't think that he would wear them to work or on a date, but he might if he's going to a particular event where you try to look better than usual

Like a high end club or exclusive event, he'll probably wear something classy

I think his go to is wither a pair of corset heels or high blocks

Obanai is lowkey jealous because Kyojuro doesn't really need the extra hight

4/10, keep up the hard work :)

Giyu Tomioka

My first instinct was to immediately put Giyu on the 'Not Allowed' list

A hunch just told me that he would somehow cause more trouble if he wore any

But I considered it further and came to this conlcusion

Giyu can and will walk in heels, just nothing above three inches

He tried walking in four inch platforms and he was nearly tripping every two minutes

And if Tengen sees him exiting his apartment wearing them again he will not hesitate to put those things back where they came from

Giyu does like wearing heels though, even if he's not allowed to wear very high ones

Only wears them if he's going to a club though

His favourite pair is a professional looking pair of blue, beige and black slingbacks with a three inch heel

5/10, but he's walking on thin ice

Gyomei Himejima

I don't think that Gyomei could walk in heels smoothly, but he can certainly get from point A to B

He just can't do it gracefully

If Gyomei walks in heels, he won't ever admit that he's struggling and he'll insist that he's walking just fine

But he has his arms outstretched like he's walking on a tightrope

It's honestly just not his thing, and I don't think he would be able to incorporate it with his current wardrobe

Even if he had the desire to learn, I think he would hear the struggle that Tengen's going through and just give up

He already has to go on a lengthy search to find anything to fit him regularly, let alone a pair of heels

2/10 I can't say I would recommend this for him, no

Muichiro Tokito

You know those pictures of kids wearing their mom's heels?

And their foot barely fits in the shoe?

And they just look so awkwardly out of place?

Poor baby

I think he has some growing to do before he's going to learn how to walk in them

But Muichiro definitely wants to learn!

Given how his sense of style is usually baggy or loose fitting clothes, I can see him maybe going to Obanai for style advice in the future

Probably nothing high or flashy either, just probably a pair of classy heeled boots

I just don't think it's for him right now, at his current stature

Muichiro just looks a little bit out of place in them right now though...

mammon frequents 'wild' parties, especially after winning big amounts of grimm at the casino

he always wondered how you got so much good advice on certain situations related to said parties, now that you told him you're a former seasoned party attendee it makes sense

mammon wants to take you to a party but maybe you're over them

levi never would have guessed, and now he's a little afraid of you because he doesn't like party animals

but you're close so he forgets about the shock soon enough

when you tell him stories about your average campus party at 3 in the morning he says stuff like 'this is why I hate normies'

he was reading you a book and the main character went to a party so you just told satan about your own party phase

at first he was like 'yeah we all had our phases' but when you showed him pictures from the parties he wonders how you and your friends got a rolls royce in a lecture hall (he wants to know so he can get cars in lucifer's office)

overall, satan doesn't really have a strong opinion on your party phase, as long as you stayed safe

asmo himself has seen, heard and lived through stuff so nothing you tell him and nothing in your pictures can surprise him

not even the picture of the car in the middle of the lecture hall

he thinks this information is amazing, he's lowkey upset you didn't tell him sooner

he's worried for past you when he hears the stories, but luckily you were fine

he has been dragged to the fall too many times to his liking by solomon and/or asmo and he kind of hated it every time

so when you tell him you're over the phase he's relieved for you

when he looks at the pictures you show him, his expression remains calm and peaceful

but if you look closely into his eyes there's confusion, worry and a hint of judgement

he's happy for you because well you had fun and you were safe, even when he might not completely approve of your former behavior

when you show him the picture he chuckles and tells you to never show these images to luke, he'll shamelessly judge and roast you

he'd like to hear more of your stories sometime, he can laugh along with you to some of them (others are too surprising or worrying)

Luke

you were talking about this to somebody else about the lecture hall car and he overheard

so now luke has gone full chihuahua mode because of your story

'why is there a car in the classroom? the classroom is for learning! I expected this from demons but you?!'

he calms down when you tell him you think it's not very smart too and you've outgrown all of this

Solomon

he just laughs, he thinks it's the funniest thing he's heard and seen all week

but on a serious note, he's super glad things never went extremely wrong

at some point he's actually crying on the floor because of the story from when you attended a beach party where everyone had to be dressed like a shark

and honestly that's a rare sight

Now that the ep10 is out... What did you think of Monarch? For me it was a very good series, I just hope the second season comes soon (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)

i enjoyed it! i appreciated that the writers really wanted human characters that had an attachment to the titans/goji. it may not have connected for me on every level but i did end up enjoying the characters as a whole. keiko & shaw are the standouts for me though. i thought it was beautifully shot and most of the vfx looked really great (goji especially mans lookin handsome)

not getting into spoilers yet but ep10 went hard and i enjoyed the show overall!! i think a second season could be good if they find a good place for it to fit, ill honestly never say no to more lore & goji

also i feel like that fight was a great example of why he's the top dog, he coulda pulled the ion dragon apart immediately but it lowkey seemed like he was giving it a chance to back down??? and it kept coming at him so he said bet and took care of that gyaos wannabe. dude shoulda taken the out when he had a chance

i thought the lore additions around hollow earth and axis mundi were really neat, i dont mind the time slippage idea, i feel like it may end up playing into the extended lifespans of titans? but idk that's just a guess

My thoughts on the pjo show (now that the season is over) (this is going to run long) Overall Rating: 8/10 :

Ok first of all, I actually LOVED the show and the cast is literally awesome; I do have some thoughts and feelings tho.

The GOOD :D

The visuals were eating ngl

THE CAST!!!! they literally were amazing cannot stress this enough

I think a lot of the changes were handled super well, especially Medusa (although I don't love all of the changes...see below in the next section lol)

I LOVED the set design for pretty much all of the scenes!!! Like the set & costuming was literally so good; sometimes it looked a little Volume-y but I think it's ok since they also clearly did a bunch of on-location stuff

Driving scene was literally so funny like no notes on that + the acting was On Point pretty much All of the Time.

I actually think they slayed with the special effects

Pretty accurate! (overall a waaaaaay better adaptation than the movies)

BLUE FOOD!!!!

More Sally content was awesome!! And I cannot stress this enough the ACTORS WERE SO GOOD in their roles!! Like I think they were the perfect choices ngl and I hope to see more of them in season 2 (if we get one, idk if its greenlit yet)

I also liked how they focused on Grover's character more (lowkey my fav now)

Genuinely had a great time watching the scenes from the books I've loved since Forever come to life onscreen!

The character dynamics were GIVING

Loved getting more info about Percy's backstory

The way they showed the Mist was honestly so cool!! This might be filed under Visuals but still...it was so cool

Fight choreo fluctuated, but I liked the Percy vs Luke fight (altho the scorpion erasure ;-;)

Again the chemistry with the actors like adkjhfdkjdfkjhdfjkhk I think the acting may have been my fav part honestly lol

All of the easter eggs for the fans!!

Rick's subtle rewriting of the story was sometimes very cool! (Like with the water grabbing Percy etc) --- you can definitely tell that he's thinking about how he'd change the story if he were to write it today

...HOWEVER i have gripes :(

THE LIGHTING WAS TOO DARK IN NIGHT SCENES!!!! HATE THAT TROPE WHY CANT I SEEEEEEEE (looking at u medusa scene)

I feel like they should've fallen into like…at least one trap without Knowing Everything about it. Like, I get the Medusa change and am pretty on board with it, but I feel like a few of the other changes weren't really necessary & messed with the stakes. A lot of the time it felt like I was watching them explain "Oh you're THIS person so you will do THIS so I will do THIS" instead of like...showing me.

Not enough blood (this is prob a Disney problem, not the show creators fault but like...cmon Disney...they have swords, let the children get More Injured...they are Fighting for their Lives)

Felt kinda...dryer than the books? idk how to explain it...like it felt like there wasn't the same Vibes in some parts if that makes sense, like they switched out a lot of funny moments (esp with how they changed Charon and the Crusty scenes lowkey im bitter)

the tone was definitely sometimes waaay different from the books (like it was way more serious I think, which is good sometimes and less good other times)

Idk if this is 100% true bc my last reread was a few months ago, but I think they separated the main trio more than in the book (?), it felt like they were duo-ed with diff members for a lot rather than building off of their main dynamic -- they had some trio moments but ig i just wanted more (again, I could be wrong on this one tho)

Lotus Casino not really being as Fun (the pumping lotus flowers in the air was a cool detail tho!)

It generally felt like they took a lot of the funny parts in favor of talking more about how messed up the gods are (which I liked sometimes!! but the kids are 12 let them have more funny moments too yaknow) (Rip the Died in the Bathtub line...gone but not forgotten)

I really didn't love the changes that made the story feel more Cliche and Basic (the ones that annoyed me were changing the entire DOA to just Some Standard Death Eater Looking Fellow & Annabeth's interactions with Cerebus being completely changed)

Mixed feelings on Gabe...I wanted him to be more evil at the beginning but I get why they changed it ig. Plus he was literally so funny when he (spoilers?) got murdered by opening someone else's mail. That's what happens when you commit a federal crime ig.

General Character Thoughts:

PERCY: Walker Scobell was such a good casting call... like you can tell he really cares about the books & getting the character right. Acting was on point, sass was on point (but I do wish he got to be sassy a bit More); Really gives off the energy of Percy Jackson and definitely was AMAZING in this role!

ANNABETH: She was spectacular in this role!! Leah got literally all of Annabeth down to a T --- her kindness, her pride, her wisdom, etc etc without resorting to any kind of "stock smart girl" vibe. She was literally SO GOOD! I loved seeing her talk about her dad, and the detail about her not having seen a movie is such a mood and so in-character lowkey. Leah really nailed Annabeth's dry humor and general vibe like dfajkhfdjhkfdhjk

GROVER: He was my favorite! Like, his acting was AMAZING fr!!! They brought a lot of newer things into his character that I think worked really well & it definitely strengthened his characterization --- he was also really funny & so sincere I just loved his portrayal of Grover!

HOWEVER I think some of the arcs are shakier since the characters didn't struggle as much, since they were figuring out a Lot of things

Overall, I took 2 points from the rating because the Spirit and Humor weren't fully there and I felt some of the changes made it feel less like the OG and more cliche (looking at u Charon). However, the great acting, pretty slay writing (except for the tone stuff), Vibes, and all the other stuff I think they did right pulled through to get it ranked a little higher lol. Plus, I liked it, even if I didn't like all of it.

No hate if u loved the show adaptation tho!! Feel free to disagree, these are just my thoughts lol. I really genuinely hope there's going to be a season 2, although I would like if they fix a few of these problems in that potential season (please...let me see what's happening in the dark scenes...please...)

really wish the 12 series didnt have raph bring out the splinter's favorite line. they were so close to not doing it. so close to not slapping that on as the reason for raph being raph.

but they did it. and it lowkey still doesnt make any sense? not once in the show were there ever any hints of this being an issue. not once was it ever hinted as something that bugged raph. i think this could have worked, but it needed to have some sort of precedent, and it didnt. this leaves the statement kind of feeling like it came out of left field.

i always got the impression that raph's anger came from other sources. like being cooped up with your brothers for 15 years and not being able to go outside for fear of being hunted down like an animal. no way to release pent up aggression. and when it comes to leo, the first few seasons made it seem like raph's anger was due to his perceived shift in power dynamics. for 15 years he was on equal footing with his brother, and in the span of a day, suddenly he's the leader? maybe raph always did feel some sort of rivalry towards his brother, maybe he was jealous of leo to some degree for his skills/some other reason like that, and these feelings were exacerbated when leo became the leader. but to say raph was actually always jealous of leo because "he was always splinter's favorite?" huh? where did that come from? when was this established? either way for it to work i feel like this should have been brought up before.

and you could chalk it up to raph perceiving leo to be splinter's favorite, and this not actually being the case, but i dont think the series ever explores raphs feelings any deeper than this so idk. and then once again, you'd probably have to establish this earlier if this were to be the case. season 4, which is basically the last season of the main story, should not be the first time we're hearing about this major aspect of raph's character. is it ever even mentioned again??

and honestly, i think slapping this on as the reason for raphs issues is kind of boring at this point. its been done before in so many other characters in other stories. boo. give me something else. youre telling me yall cant look any deeper into raphs character than this, that you have to give a surface level reason? it feels like a cop out to just blame splinter. but hey, if you guys really want someone to blame, SHREDDER IS RIGHT THERE. maybe if they didn't have to live in fear of getting killed their whole lives things would have been different.

i guess im also just bothered by this because now it gives fuel to the "abusive parent splinter" fans who have this weird agenda of completely rewriting splinter's character to be a terrible parent and then blaming all of the boys' issues on him

also, why muddy raph and leo's relationship even more? honestly to me their relationship already started getting muddier by season 2 due to weird writing decisions, but overall i really liked how they genuinely seemed to be good friends and have a close bond with each other. i got the vibe that they liked hanging out with each other in their spare time, and that most of the time they did get along (just look at the amount of times they're just casually hanging out in the background/sparring in their free time/in the same room). it's just that whenever an episode focuses on them, they tended have some sort of conflict due to the nature of an episode, i guess. but when you introduce this to their dynamic it just feels weird. like i guess having this added to their dynamic doesn't have to negate their friendship, but it adds another layer of complexity that the writers just didn't seem to be willing to face/deal with properly

Comprehensive Guide For Assassination Classroom Content

Because it's pretty hard to find a straight up list of it all. Please note that whilst I believe this is accurate, I was not involved in the fandom whilst the series was active and so could reasonably miss something.

Core Content

Assassination Classroom manga as serialised in Shounen Jump. If you buy the physical volumes, there's a bit of additional content between chapters, most notably introductory character profiles.

Assassination Classroom anime (some count seasons 1 and 2 as separate entities)

Assassination Classroom Meeting Time - an animated short featuring Korosensei and Karasuma's first meeting.

Assassination Classroom Extra Curricular Lessons - adaptations of a couple of manga chapters that weren't in the show itself. I'll just link a playlist here. Fun fact this is where Nagisa gets hit by a chair (lowkey he deserved it)

Additional Content

365 Days Movie. This isn't 'canon' as it's an anime original thing. There's no official English release that I know of. Honestly the movie is mostly a series recap, and only features Karma and Nagisa in new scenes. It's only really worth watching if you especially ship them as there's only maybe 10 minutes of actual content (and most of that is just montage, you can get the gist with this)

Roll Call Book - this was published mid manga run. It's mostly just a bunch of bonus content particularly character based. No official English translation exists, but snippets are easy enough to find online.

Graduation Album - as the name implies, it accompanies the end of the manga. About half of it is an art book, but there's extra character information especially about their post graduation lives. Crucially it includes a few manga shorts which extend past the actual canon ending.

Korotan A, B, C, and D plus Korosuu. They're mostly just Assassination Classroom themed text books (Seriously. My actual university book store sold them.) Korotans are for English vocabulary, Korosuu is for maths. Notably each book also contains a light novel (sometimes these are just referred to as 'the light novels'). It is debatable how canon these are as Matsui didn't write them, but he was involved through illustrating and overseeing the writing. Korotan D is especially debated because it's post canon content set when 3E are 18, but there's a small 'it was all a dream' implication right at the end of the book. Personally speaking I take them as full canon.

Official Spin Offs

The live action movies (part one and two). They change a lot of plot so I place them more in the spin off area. Easily skippable.

Korosensei Quest Manga (otherwise known as Koro Q) - a spin off gag manga set in a fantasy/video game inspired universe. This is not canon (unfortunately) and as far as I understand Matsui isn't involved in it. There's an implication of the idea it's Fuwa's own manga creation. Overall there are four volumes but there's no official English version (though fan scans aren't hard to find).

Korosensei Quest Anime - lightly based on the Koro Q manga. This is only a short 10 episode series though, and was complete long before the original, as such only the first few episodes are actual adaptations and it starts doing its own thing. All voice cast return so that's neat.

The OVA - basically an early adaptation of the Kyoto arc. Link here. It was released in 2013 so predates the actual anime, and a lot of the voice cast are different.

White day shorts featuring Karma, Maehara, and Nagisa - posted on official website as an otome game parody for promotion. Included because they're voice acted.

The 3DS games. They're region locked as far as I understand, and there's no translation of them. You can find it dumped if you know what you're doing with emulators, I've only played a few minutes of it myself.

The app game - no longer available. It was a gatcha tie in game featuring a variety of character illustrations.

Various merch lines and related illustrations. There are far too many to list and new ones still come out sometimes.

As I said, I hope I covered everything but there's a good possibility something slipped my mind.

just finished watching dr s2!!!!

how do we feel about it??

(spoilers ahead. don't mind me yapping HAHA)

tldr: s2 is goated, watch it!!!

personally i found it really fun but my slow brain couldn't handle the pacing (it was a little too fast for me to process, lol) but overall i really loved a lot about it like the animation, the soundtrack, the voices, the writing, and everything :0 it lowkey gave me sons of garmadon vibes (which is a good thing, cuz i loved that season)

honestly i'd give it an 8/10, cuz i like it a bit more than season 1 and we got to see some character development. honestly the only thing that threw me off was the random mech transformations especially with cole bc i feel like he doesn't need the mech? like he got the rock monster ability which wouldve been cool to use instead of his mech😭 but lego gotta get that bread ig!! edit: nvm i think cole needed a bunch of earth around him to use that ability so ig it makes sense why he would have to use his mech😭 also i wish we knew what cole's journey was like when he followed wu's spirit!! maybe we'll know soon?

i loved seeing more of kai and wyldfire and lloyd and arin. seeing arin frustrated hurt a lot because my poor boy was so overwhelmed and stressed😭 like that's so sad, it kinda feels like how lloyd had to become the green ninja and defeat his dad and the overlord lol. in this case, arin had to learn the rising dragon technique (but couldn't even do a proper spinjitzu) and stop the wolf gang, plus he wanted to find his parents and felt like he let everyone down :(

then lloyd getting visions was awesome, i loved taht they added it. it just adds to the chaos of the season and we got to see lloyd's struggles as becoming a master

then there's uh. some "lostshipping" scenes?. honestly i ship them so hard but i tried to think like a normal person lol. i think they're touchy and close because they think of each other as family. but i honestly can't get over the scene where geo has a flashback to cole holding his hand and cole looking at him lovingly😭😭 LIKE WHOA THERE BUDDY, SLOW DOWN!!!!

ALSO COLE TURNING INTO A DOG WASTHE BEST THING EVER I SQUEEALLLED HE WAS SO CUTE ARHHGHGH ARGHGHH!!!! COLE FOREVER!!!💗💗💗 AND HIM SAYING "i am always adorable!" MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD AHAHAH HE'S AWAREE ABT HOW CUTE HE IS I LOVE HIM SMMMM RAHHHHHHH!!!!!1!1!

also kai got locked with bonzle forever :( thats so sad but kai got optimistic and said the iconic "ninja never quit!!" line which made me happy. but he didn't get to see cole 😭🙏 and jay didn't even reunite with any of the ninja LOL

the ending was so sad and im kinda sad we didn't see enough abt jay but hopefully we will in part 2🙏🙏 man season 2 made me go thru a ton of emotions and honestly i think the hype was deserved :D

Just finished PJO Episode 8 like 5 minutes ago, here are initial thoughts

Overall the show has definitely had its issues, but in all honesty I don't have a single major complaint about how it ended.

The fight between Ares and Percy was properly whelming. Got some water action and the appearance of some golden ichor was pretty rad

Olympus was pretty cool. It was a tad jarring going from not-asgard to a crumbling ruin but that was pretty easy to justify in my head (i just assumed the council chamber was built in the oldest part of the city and that's why it was so comparatively decrepit). Zeus was exactly what I'd hoped he would be. Not an outright villain, but egotistical and far too certain of his own strength and authority. Poseidon surrending to save Percy was a nice addition, imo it justifies the timeline shift.

I'm a little disappointed we didn't see more Hades but that's more of a "please show me more of this intriguing fruity man" thing and not a genuine complaint.

The conversation with Luke was nearly perfect I think. I'm glad he outright tried to recruit Percy. His book strategy of luring him into the woods to explain his entire plan and then outsource his murder was lowkey my least favorite part of the original book. I'm glad that it was more of a conversation and not just exposition.

Seeing what I think is Kronos's actual mortal form (albeit cloaked) was very cool. The double fake-out with Sally in the cabin was a little odd imo, but eh.

ONE IN-UNIVERSE YEAR (i think?) UNTIL WE CAN SEE THALIA!!!

Gods I can't wait to see her, genuinely. Her being 16 in the books never really stuck out to me, I always imagined her as having basically the same physicality/maturity as the other characters. Being an ancient being who has seen countless winters now (I think I was like 10-14 ish when I first read the books?), I'm thrilled at the prospect of seeing this 16-year-old punk pine tree trying to wrangle half a dozen children for an entire season.

I am curious on whether they'll retcon Ares' curse (when you need it most your sword will fail you), whether it'll happen some other time, or if they'll just ignore it. I don't remember it being super crucial to the plot so I wouldn't mind if they forgot about it honestly.

First appearance of backbiter letsgooo. I kiiind of wish they talked more about what it was. I don't mind it being able to open doors but in the books I feel like it's most defining trait was that it's a combination of normal steel and celestial bronze, meaning it can kill mortals. I feel like that immediately sets the stakes by telling you that Luke is planning to kill people, not just gods. I'm sure they'll address it eventually.

NATLA Ep. 4 "Into the Dark" initial thoughts

Okay wow, I think this is my fav so far in terms of changes they've made. The best ep so far is probs Warriors but this was quite bold in the changes it's made and you know what, the first episode made me fear they'd be too timid to actually lean into their changes but no. Just like Danny Pudi put his whole Pudissy into his role, this episode committed to its direction and I can respect that even in places where I don't agree with the changes. The only exception is Bumi's tests, a lot of the dialogue and other aspects lifted straight from ATLA didn't work because it felt more forced in this context than anything. And overall I think Bumi is my least favourite part of the episode and its adaptation.

I was glad to see Jet in this episode, too, even if it was brief. I'm still lacking stronger emotions and a stronger presence from Katara but I'm glad for this goodbye with Jet and how it sets up exactly what it needs to. We did lose Jet being a foil to Sokka and there was a major missed opportunity in having Jet actually interact with Sai but ah well, can't have everything.

Instead of Sokka foiling it out with Jet there's the surprise inclusion of basically Book 2 Chapter 2 which I did not expect but am pleasantly surprised by. This ep went hard on the music taken straight from ATLA between the nomads' songs and Leaves From the Vine playing over the Iroh flashback. And! And!! Oma and Shu are lesbians!!! This is not a drill, Oma and Shu are lesbians in love. If there was one thing I hoped for in terms of the live action show it was casual queer representation and I got it in the most unexpected but pleasant place. Love it.

And!! On top of the surprising but not unwelcome inclusion of The Cave of Two Lovers, the story is recentered entirely on Sokka and Katara. I'll share more thoughts on this later but suffice to say I always love me some Water Sibs appreciation and this was much needed in this version. I still take issue with essentially erasing Katara's mothering of Sokka but it's clear the impact Hakoda leaving had on them is the same and, most probably in lieu of Bato of the Water Tribe, we get this storyline with them. The fact that love being the answer was reframed as the love between these two siblings is honestly a galaxy brain change and decision and I respect the hell out of it. There's still much lacking in terms of really fleshing out our cast but I will never, ever say no to more Water Sibs content. If we were gonna spend so much time in Omashu and put so many familiar faces in there, makes sense to also do the Omashu backstory AND utilize it to shine some light on the sibling dynamic that otherwise doesn't have much room to breathe in the live action. This is the kind of bold new direction that they have to take and own to make this show work.

I also enjoyed the Zuko and Iroh stuff and that's some interesting inclusion of more Book 2 things as well. The way even their plot from the Winter Solstice part one ep was integrated here is quite clever and I enjoyed both the past and present Iroh scenes. We'll see how they handle the actual Zuko backstory and I do think this version of Iroh needs a bit more, how should I put it, softness, but there's much to like here. Especially giving Zuko the option to pursue Aang instead and having him choose to rescue Iroh. Similar to a choice he made in the above mentioned Spirit World ep but honestly, lowkey more poignant here.

That's it for me for today but I'll watch the second half of the season tomorrow. I have to say, so far it has at least provided some interesting new takes worth taking a deeper critical look at, and I don't agree with those who dismiss the show entirely. It has merit even if, halfway through the first season, it's yet to convince me it can justify its own existence.

hey so sorry if this is like super weird but i noticed the tags on your reblog of the pit babe poll and just wanted to add that like the omegaverse is honestly kinda lowkey? like so far in season 1 they've only really acknowledged the existence of alphas, which they don't go into too much detail about other than them having certain pheromones and special powers, and the mpreg stuff doesn't come up till later in the show which also doesn't get too explicitly discussed either. so like if you're not a big fan of omegaverse stuff, a lot of the show isn't really about that. there's more about racing than omegaverse overall.

tho if you wanted a gay racing show, love in the air is another drama about gay racecar drivers that's not omegaverse (tho there's less racing in it compared to pit babe, and significantly more sex scenes and also has some more potentially triggering content) (yeah the omegaverse one has less explicit sex scenes compared to the regular one). I think those are the only two dramas I know about that are about gay racecar drivers primarily but I could be wrong there may be more lol

THEN I came across this freaking adorable fic of these two (it's this one!) that somehow converted me back to shipping these two??? then I started thinking up random scenarios involving the two and yeah imma say I adore these two. idk I feel like zee would be good for chase, like their way of viewing the world would be pretty helpful for someone like chase?? Malcolm in the Middle: i lowkey hate craig, i think he's creepy ESPECIALLY in earlier seasons. you'd think that after your MARRIED coworker tells you that she doesn't like you back and there's no way in hell that she'd ever be with you, YOUD TAKE A FUCKING HINT. also while it's on my mind, i remember writing a reese x reader where readers is basically allison in that episode where craig gives her and reese a ride to the concert but he ends up ruining their date, but anon asked for them all to have a good time together and it was SO hard to write! bc if i had paid for concert tickets (most likely really expensive) for me and my bf and my ride purposefully made me miss the concert because he had a "better" plan for "our" date, i would've blown up the car

Malcolm in the Middle: i honestly didn't like the series finale. the only endings i really agreed with were malcolm's and francis' (malcolm was totally meant to go to harvard by any means necessary, even if it meant working a million jobs between classes to cover that tuition. and although he's probably still a bit of a menace, i love that francis got his act together and got a steady job). i think reese deserved a better ending, i think he could've had a really good culinary career instead of being the janitor at his high school. and i know it was probably for a gag/twist ending but i don't like that they made lois pregnant again. GIVE THE WOMAN A BREAK!!

The Naturals: i've made tiktoks about this (which yall don't know about bc you dont know me outside of this platform teehee) but i hate the way lia treats cassie. sure she got kinda better at the VERY end of the SERIES (4 books). but imagine your mom has been missing and presumed murdered for YEARS and (spoliers for books 3-4 teehee) finally the police find her body but it's not actually her and then you find out your mom is actually alive and a captive/prophet for this murder cult AND THAT YOU HAVE A SISTER THAT WAS CONCEIVED INSIDE THAT CULT. NOW imagine that while you're going through all these events, some bitch keeps telling you to keep that shit to yourself bc other people in the group are having more pressing issues and that the group is at problem capacity. BITCH ALL OF YOU HAVE ISSUES, INSTEAD OF WORKING FOR THE FBI YOU SHOULD GO TO THERAPY

Charlie's Angels: im a really big fan of the 2000's charlies angels movies but was a bit disappointed when i watched the 2019 one. dont get me wrong, its good. i just kinda wished there was some more callbacks to the 2000s movies. like imagine my disappointment when the new charlie wasn't revealed to be dylan (which would've given her character a good ending bc dylan couldn't imagine herself leaving the angels, it would make SO much sense if she ended up heading the agency. even making her a bosley would've been good)

That 70s Show: this isn't really that unpopular but the last season honestly sucked. drew gooden made a pretty good video talking about it (i love drew gooden ugh). imo, moving to africa and then breaking up with donna made no sense for eric's character. especially after donna dropped out of college to stay in point place with him! hyde and jackie breaking up? horrible. jackie and fez getting together? why???? (also the timeline for that 70s show makes no sense at all. theres this channel that did a kinda indepth vid on it and tried pinpointing when the show actually would've ended based on the episodes (mainly the holiday episodes, i think making the holiday specials really screwed over the overall timeline))

In honor of it being winx 19th birthday, how would you rank the seasons?

oooooooooooohhhhhhh that’s a hard one…. I’ll rank up to 6 cause I stopped watching after that

1st- This was honestly going to be a tie between 2 and 3 but in the end 3 won out. It has a more interesting plot and introduces our lovely Enchantix but it’s also a little too Bloom focused and the ending… I never was the biggest fan of the ending if I’m being 100% honest, like… a 5 minute battle after ALL of that? But it did also have some of the best moments and my fave moments like the Crystal Labyrinth, Flora’s Enchantix, the whole Omega/Tecna plotline and more. Also since the entire Club is established at this point we get to explore their dynamic a bit more. Though Musa and Flora blend a bit into the background at times and we rarely get any Specialist moments. But overall, for me it’s the best to me.

2nd- Season 2. We get Darkar, Aisha’s epic introduction and her arc, little moments for all the girls’ Charmix. HELIA?! HELIA AND FLORA?! AAAAAA!!!! Sorry fangirled there a bit. I feel like we got to see a bit more of the boys this season so I loved that. Darkar is an epic, creepy villain and I feel like the Trix are still good in this season. Also Dark Bloom was lowkey iconic and I loved the pixies this season. For me seasons 2 and 3 are very close in this ranking. The only reason it’s second is because s3 has a bit more memorable moments and of course, Enchantix.

3rd- This might surprise yall but… season 4. I LOVE season 4. I love the Wizards, their dynamic and personalities, Anagan’s little weird flirting with Flora? Gold. It has a lot of unnecessary drama between the Specialists and the Winx but I can let it slide because of the great ideas. We get the Wizards of the Black Circle, the dynamic with Roxy as we get to see another young girl get her world twisted upside down. Then, we free the Earth fairies and… they want fucking revenge. And that’s awesome. The timeline makes absolutely no fucking sense though. I’ll be honest, this one is mostly here due to nostalgia (this season was my fave for a very long time) and ideas not necessarily execution. But this one will always have a special place in my heart.

4th- the one that started it all, season 1! The one where we get introduced to almost all of the girls the only season in which Riven actually gets to keep his development, it’s he best season of the Trix and… this one is probably the most coherent one when it comes to plot since the plot had to be simple since we were just being introduced to the characters and world. I love this season so much. The only reason it isn’t higher is mostly cause the others just have so much more going on that this one can fade a bit into the background but I still absolutely adore it. Also, I have a thing with insects so the Army of Darkness still gives me the creeps to this day just… no- ew

5th- Now on to where I personally feel the decline truly started, season 5. So, they returned the squad to school with no explanation and just… okay? Then all of a sudden Aisha have these cousins that have never been shown before and one of them is evil and has the Trix join him and… okay? And then… it’s just a mess of somewhat good ideas but this is also when they start making the Winx childish like, even more than they were in season 1. And I cannot remember anything about the boys this season, literally just that stupid amnesia plotline like- what?! Can we please just give Bloom and Sky a break? I actually liked the idea of them breaking up to give themselves sometime but no let’s just get fucking- I can’t even. This was just a weird season overall to me. I liked the concept of the oceans and sometimes it was done really well other times not. Also the Trix just… lose their impact

6th- now… wow… I like some of the concepts here, mainly Selina and the Legendarium but they were executed so fucking horribly. I adore the Bloomix designs like, I might even put them above Enchanitx they are so fucking pretty but the way they get it is just… such bullshit? And then the Legendarium could’ve been a chance to make up myths for other planets but no for some reason they are all from Earth? And then Daphne’s random ass plotline and randomly getting married and just what?! The only thing I liked were the designs, Helia and Flora having a conflict even if it was a bit stupid and Musa losing her voice. That’s literally all I can remember cheering for. And now we have a form unironically called Bloomix… remember when I said season 3 focused a bit too much on Bloom? Yeah… also I fucking hate the fairy godmother I’m not even going to look up her name. Selina had potential but then the Trix at this point are just pitiful. So yeah, this is when I oficially gave up on the series, I didn’t even watch the full final few episodes I just skimmed them.

And that’s the ranking! Also, Winx is now my same age, I feel fucking old ajjajajaja.
