Random thought:

Loki and Mobius find a hurt stray cat. It's agressive, bites, doesn't trust anyone, etc. But Mobius insists on taking it in, and Loki gives in.

None of them has ever had an actual pet before, but they try. They let the cat hide when they get home and don't pressure it to come out. They get food and water and leave it close by.

Mobius is the one who gets the cat's trust first though, and it's actually kind of sudden? One day Loki gets home and the little hairball is just curled up in Mobius's lap.

He's actually kind of impressed.

"What did you do?"

"Nothing specific. I guess the poor thing just needed to feel safe."

"This 'poor thing' has bitten and scratched both of us several times."

"Scared animals do that, Loki. Not very different from people."

A small moment of silence, and suddenly Mobius is smirking, and Loki knows exactly where this is going.

"You know, now that I think about it..."

"Don't."

"I guess I just have experience with hurt and scared little things who act like they're angry when they just need care."

"Don't you dare compare me to this creature."

"I wasn't going to, but hey, you said it."

"I hate you."

oh. mobius loving loki as death loves everything. he's been here since the beginning of time and his work is all he's ever known and he spends eons watching variants get pruned and he feels like the only one who cares. then he meets a definitely-not-analyst who knows him and is desperate for him to say that he knows them too and even after they erase his memories over and over he remembers it deep down and he dedicates himself to loki variants and feels sad, is sadness when they get pruned. no there's no justice or comfort, there's just the tva but he cares the most about ppl dying, he cares so much about loki's fate and he sticks his neck out several times just so they can live and it's making me think of death taking no pleasure in his job. of death knowing there's no such thing as justice and hating the world for it anyway. you must learn compassion to be death. mobius loves like death.

URGENT: Kitten in Need of Home

This is a major long-shot, but we are having a really hard time finding a shelter or foster home that can take this kitten.

Is there anyone near Southwest Virginia who would like a kitten?

We've been calling him Loki.

He has been to the vet once for a basic checkup and he's been tested for FeLV and FIV. He's about 8-10 weeks old.. we think. He was rescued from the engine compartment of a friend's car.

He is energetic and wants to be social with our cats, but they haven't been tolerating it. I think he'd make great friends with a social cat or even dog. He is very confident.

We don't have the money to get his vaccines or have extra checkups. He has a sensitive stomach and is itchy sometimes (no fleas), but we just can't afford to pursue these issues further. (I can manage to drive out to meet you though!)

Please pass this around. Serious inquiries are welcome to message me directly. We are asking around irl, continuing to reach out to shelters, and waiting for a foster home to open up, but things are getting really difficult to keep up. Our cats are very stressed and we can't give him the care he needs.

Loki *feigning innocence*: Well, if you can’t trust your brother, who can you trust? Thanks for watching them, and remember you really don’t have to call how it’s going. I’ll see you in two days.

*Thor excitingly leaving with the cats*

Y/N: You really asked Thor to babysit, so we can have sex?

*Loki snapping his fingers, being completely naked*: Yes, now we only have two days, so we have to make the most of it.
