lucy gray telling snow "the show's not over until the mockingjay sings" and him initially not understanding it and then 65 years later katniss singing the meadow song for rue leading to the first sparks of the rebellion that culminate in the show finally being over for snow........ delicious

#obviously we get katniss singing the hanging tree and that has all the ties to the events of tbosas #but in the novel snow never hears katniss sing it #whereas the first time she sings publicly is for rue and that's the first small act of rebellion in a whole chain leading to the revolution #(which is especially shown in the movie where we see the uprisings in 11 after rue's death)#talking #thg #tbosas

au where no it wasn't misinformed zuko and aang who created republic city, who decided they knew what's best for the people living in the colonies despite no one in the gaang having experienced the fire nation's colonization of the earth kingdom, it was jet, jet who survived the violence against him by both his fire nation oppressors and the earth kingdom's secret police that served the interests of the government, jet who lived through the fire nation's colonization of the earth kingdom, jet who has had enough of it all and leads a revolution in his home against the fire nation who's oppressed them for 100~ years and the earth kingdom's ruling class. this of course would result in a very different republic city than in canon though.

#atla au #jet atla #honestly jet should get a chance to live and not fight but hes like the best character for the job #i think the colonies are a very tricky situation bc there are mixed families that ofc live there and you cant just ask those families #that have lived there for 100 years to leave #but also richer colonists have oppressed the native populations for decades now #and the fire nation should not have control over the colonies anymore whatsoever #which i haven't watched lok but the situation painted by the comics shows that while the fn has political control over the new nation #so just let jet lead a tiny little revolution guys #he doesn't start in book 1 with very good ideas but hes obvi open to change in book 2 #and sees the faults in the ek government so has reason not to want to be ruled by them #plus hes always hated the upper class #avatar #atla #avatar the last airbender

i just realized something extrodinary.

Ouranos, Kronos, and Zeus were/may be overthrown by a son, right?

Ouranos's wasn't prophesized, but man. it probably would've been.

Meanwhile, Kronos's was prophesized.

And we're pretty sure Zeus is paranoid about that happening to him.

and i was thinking; "wow, i wonder what, exactly, about them that has this air of "will be overthrown" hanging over them."

and it hit me.

they're all terrible fathers. the cycle keeps repeating.

and it won't stop until whatever's wrong is corrected.

and who, of Zeus's godly sons, is widely acclaimed to be one of, if not the best, godly parent?

love waking up from a dream having been gifted with THE MOST PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE THAT I MUST WRITE DOWN AND SHARE WITH THE WORLD IMMEDIATELY only to properly wake up like 2 minutes later and being like "this is nonsense".

#i dreamt my friend from okinawa was teaching in the classroom underneath mine (apparently there was a classroom underneath mine)#and the kids from his classroom kept escaping and coming into mine via stairs i didn't even know existed #and he described them as 'indigo children' looking for 'the road of dreams'#and then he came to me afterwards - having turned into patrick stewart but retaining his hair - and he said:#'do you know the way to the road of dreams? first you must go up'#and i had a little tricycle/truck hybrid thing with an inflatable hamburger some wooden blocks and a beach ball stuck to the back #and i was like. this is it. this is the key. if i have these things then i can find the road of dreams #and i woke up like okay i must write this down i must remember this #and it took me between getting off my bed and turning on the air con to go 'wait no this is dream nonsense'#i did find out indigo children were actually like a pseudoscience thing in the 1970s/80s though so there you go #and the characteristics that describe indigo children are pretty much me haha #and then i kept reading and it was like 'a lot of so-described indigo children actually have adhd'#but parents prefered to believe their kid was gifted and destined to lead a religious revolution than to accept they had 'a disorder'#so that makes sense lmao
