Author’s Note - I have a few things I need to quickly cover. Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their patience. I am sure I am not the only one to notice my writing’s recent absence. Life has been kind of crazy lately and I appreciate your continued cooperation with me. A soft but repetitive knock on the door woke Y/N. Thank the gods their siblings were all away for the winter or they would have had a full-blown mutiny on their hands. Grasping around their nightstand for their alarm clock, it took them a moment to recover the elusive item. When discovered, it assaulted their eyeballs with a vengeful glare of light. Guess it didn't want to be disturbed, either. Huh, Y/N thought, join the club.

3:28 in the morning. Yeah, they weren't too pleased about that.

Throwing the warm, tight covers off of themselves, fully prepared to spar with whoever decided to interfere with the delicate work of Hypnos, Y/N whipped open the door. Immediately, all their anger washed off them in a tsunami wave.

There was their boyfriend, Leo Valdez. Shaking like a leaf in the slight draft allowed through the magical barrier of Camp Half-Blood. Overall, not their favorite sight.

"Oh, my Gods!" Y/N exclaimed, grabbing the frozen boy by the shoulder and pulling him in.

"I was outside the door," was all he managed to mumble.

"Yeah, I could see that," All humor disappeared from Y/N's face at the look on Leo's.

"What's wrong?" They were suddenly on guard.

"I- Um, I..." Leo trailed off as a violent shudder racked over him.

"Oh, Gods, c'mere!" Within seconds, Leo was sat cross-legged on his partner's bed, wrapped up burrito-style in the fluffiest blanket Y/N could steal off one of their half-sibling's beds. Y/N sat in front of him.

Immediately, he collapsed into their arms.

"I had a nightmare," he sniffled. "I couldn't figure out where to go."

Y/N placed a solid kiss on his forehead before responding.

"You know you can come here right away," they pouted dotingly.

"I... couldn't," he struggled out. "It was about you."

"What..." Y/N took a deep breath to compose themself. "What did I do?"

"Not what you did... what was done to you," Leo emphasized.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Y/N cooed.

"No..." Leo moved for the first time in minutes, shaking his head vigorously.

Y/N shushed him to calm down, rubbing their hands up and down his arms comfortingly.

"Please, can you just... sing to me?" Leo requested, voice dipping to an all-time low.

Y/N agreed eagerly. As they helped arrange for Leo to lie against their pillow, they admired him. Even in his weakened state, he trusted them. They knew his past. They knew that having his trust was no laughing matter. He knew they intended to honor it.

Leo snuggled close to their warmth. He nuzzled his face into the crook of their neck and allowed them to wrap their arms around his waist.

They could feel Leo's breath slow as they began, their whispered tone making the intimate scene feel like home. At least, that's how Leo felt.

"Leo," Y/N hummed. "Wrap me up in all your-"

"I want you in my arms," Leo added.

"Oh, let me hold you."

That is exactly what they did.

I'll never let you go again...

-Who else is better at laying down as a weighted blanket and heating himself up to perfect temperature and then just literally fiddling with rubix cubes while you use him as a hot water bottle

-He’d be so happy to as well, like it was the best job in the world [which it is to him, he gets cuddles as well as being a good boyfriend. It’s a win win]. Even if you didn’t ask, he’d catch you microwaving a wheat pack while you take painkillers in the camp kitchen and sneak up behind you and hug you. Or maybe he’d lay across the counter dramatically,

-Then he’d take the hot water bottle away and smother you in kisses [if you felt like it] and drag you back to your cabin. He’d bring your favorite snacks and steal Pipers Ipad, the one with the hello kitty stickers, and you’d watch movies to pass the time. 

-He’s the type to try those different rubbing points on your stomach to help with cramps [gods his hands are so fine, but that’s besides the point] and even if they didn’t work you’d get a massage out of it <3

-So we’ve all agreed Leo is the little spoon, right? 

-He’d act so tough and macho, spooning you to heat up his hands on your stomach but then you rolled over in your sleep once and woke up to him grinning his head off while you hugged him

-Of course you figured it out and now you’re the big spoon because he’s just so small and cuddly, like a teddy bear [even if he’s a bit boney] and when you get cramps it works even better. He’s like a life sized heat pack pressed against you, and he always holds you hands as well because he’s just like that :D

-He has the softest curly hair when it isn’t covered in sawdust and grease, and when he lays his head on your chest or that little spot between your neck and your shoulder you could just run your hands through it. Or maybe put little plaits in it. He’d love that. Touch is definitely his love language, once he realizes he does deserve it, as well as gifts and acts of service.

-Gifts and acts of service is a subconscious thing for him that he doesn’t even realize he does and likes until he spots the shelf next to your bed filled with all the little things he’s made. Gold or silver jewelry [he quickly figured out which one was favorite through trial and error you didn’t even notice], little metal flowers he’d welded with his fingers, which were literally made with love. There’d be things like lollies and packets of gum he’d realized you liked and promptly bought when he went out, fairy lights he’d made in the shape of hearts, candles with your favorite scents he’d made from when Hazel had a wax-y crafts phase, and more. 

-If you ever gave him something in return, he’d probably cry

-But he knows you love him and he definitely knows he loves you [as well as the rest of CHB lol]

It was kind of against your destiny to fall in love: Aphrodite is bound to never return Hephaestus’ love, so that they’re stuck in a loveless marriage. With the two of you, it’s the total opposite

The exact same MOMENT you see the boy in camp, disheveled look, face covered in machine oil and dust, you’re, absolutely smitten

It’s the classical “she fell first, he fell harder” type of trope

He notices you pretty early on too, but he doesn’t even try to approach you at first

I mean, no way that the prettiest child of Aphrodite could ever even look into his direction, you’re wayyyy over his league

It takes Piper’s help to start things up, when she accidentally stumbles upon Leo while she was taking a walk around camp. “Oh how rude of me. Y/N, this is my best friend, Leo”

It would be embarrassing to write down just how much he’s stumbled on his words the first time the two of you talked, just because of how he was absolutely captured by your godly beauty

He comes to find that you’re also a lot more than you’re looks: you’re funny, smart, clever, strong as fuck, and one of the best friends Leo has ever known

It doesn’t take long for him to realize that he’s completely and irrevocably in love with you, but oh boy how long does it take him to confess it to you

He had prepared this big, fancy plan to take you by the beach, with candles all around, a circle of rose petals and in the center of it a picnic filled with all of your favorite foods waiting to be devoured

Too bad he didn’t check the weather that morning, or he would’ve seen that a storm was expected right on that evening. He might’ve asked for Percy’s or Jason’s help too, maybe they could’ve done some big-god shit to prevent the rain

Nevertheless, you both found yourself soaked wet, standing by a line of extinguished candles, the petals long gone with the wind, and the food watered down to a soup

He wanted to drown himself in the sea right then and there, but he was quickly stopped by your laugh coming from behind him

Oh gods, where you making fun of him? Did you figure out what his intentions were? It must’ve been it, I mean, how could you ever want to have anything to do with him other than simple friendship, he’s been so stupid so reckles-

His track of thoughts was interrupted by your hands grabbing the collar of his shirt and pulling him in for a loving kiss, your skilled lips so soft and comforting against his much inexperienced ones

“You could’ve just told me you liked me at Camp, you know.”

“Wait, was it that simple?”

You laughed again shaking your head at his cluelessness, and he swore the sound of your laugh could’ve been the only thing he needed to live from that moment on

Okay no maybe food too, but you get the idea

You spend most of the time chilling in cabin 9 while he works on his projects, chilling in his bed or peaking at what he was doing

He definitely calls you dove for obvious reasons

Best believe that as soon as you guys are a thing all his flirting with every girl that moves is OVER my boy does not come from the streets he’s a loyal mf

After the curfew you usually sneak out to chill in some secluded area in the forest, and cuddle for hours in the moonlight

And whenever it rains, you waste no time to go at the beach and dance in the rain, reminiscing about the day you two got together

Oh, and get ready to see Leo as an emotional wreck anytime one of you is on a quest, when he’s unable to text you or hear anything from you for days or even WEEKS

He’s sure that’s worse than Prometheus’ destiny

Overall it’s like a golden retriever - siamese cat relationship, 10/10 would recommend

Leo Valdez with an Autistic Gender-Neutral S/O headcanons

Leo admits he is not the greatest at reading people and appreciates your patience as he learns as much about you as he can

Leo being absolutely obsessed with his craft knows all about hyperfixations and excitement, so getting to see you talking passionately about something you like gets him excited

He will try to get into whatever you are into   PERIOD   He loves sharing things with you

If you are super interested in a game or show, expect him to interrupt with questions (especially if he did not see from the beginning)

Chances are if you are hyperfixating on a certain person or character, he will spoil you with posters and merch of them

He definitely makes you little trinkets, everything from fidgets to little games, to things from your favorite games/shows/books/movies/etc.

Conversations with him are always funny and chaotic, he jumps from topic to topic with you and smiles the whole time

If you don’t want to talk, he fills in any silence with weird stories and bad jokes to get a smile or funny look from you

Shoot (Leo Valdez X Child of Apollo! Reader)

A/n: this is something I've been trying to write for a while but could never finish. it's not a request, just something I really felt inspired to write. I don't write enough for Leo! Plus this really helped me get my flow for writing back

For most demigods, finding out they're a half-blood and having a place to finally fit in is the best feeling in the world, for you it just makes you feel ostracized more than ever.

Your mortal parent had dropped you off with the hopes that maybe you’d finally belong somewhere, be with people who were like you. But as soon as you stepped into the camp, you knew that wasn’t going to be the case.

Camp Half-Blood, at least it seemed to someone who had never been, was a place where everyone knew who they were. There were the good looking Aphrodite kids, the mischievous Hermes kids, the crafty Hephaestus kids. And then there was you.

The first week of camp was spent trying to figure out who your godly parent was. Judging by how little you fit into the existing cabins, you were sure your godly parent was going to be some extremely minor god or goddess.

But to yours and everyone’s surprise, a week into camp you were claimed by Apollo. The god of the sun, of prophecy and poetry, music and medicine. Nothing that you felt a personal affinity for, it just made your feelings of not belonging worse.

You had no friends at camp, keeping mostly to yourself. The closest to a friend you guessed you could say you had was Will Solace, your brother.  Half brother. He was the Apollo cabin head counselor and, probably sensing your slight distress when you first moved in, latched onto you almost immediately. Which meant his weird son of Hades boyfriend, Nico Di Angelo, also hung around you a lot. 

Even if you had wanted to make actual friends, it would be impossible with Nico hanging around. A lot of the campers were uneasy and unsettled by his presence. He was alright with you, though. The two of you rarely ever conversed directly. He only hung around you if Will was there too, so you wouldn’t really consider him a friend. 

The more camp activities you participated in, the stronger your desire to isolate yourself from the other campers came to be. You couldn’t play any musical instrument they had at camp, when you tried to help Will in the infirmary you just ended up getting in the way more than actually helping and you really didn’t understand the point or process in poetry.

Being good at nothing your dad was the patron god of stank, especially when it seemed like he’d gifted all his other children with the joys of mastering these skills. Sure, you were okay at hand to hand combat, not bad with a sword either and you loved spending time with the pegasi in the stables but none of that made you a child of Apollo.

Which is why the four of you were on the archery fields now. It was the last of the activities you had to try from your fathers plethora of patronity and you hoped it would be the one you were at least semi decent at. The sun was setting on another day at Camp Half-Blood, there was still time before dinner though so Will had decided to take you out to the fields and see if you had merit as an archer.

With him was his ever faithful boyfriend, Nico and Leo Valdez, a chipper son of Hephaestus who had actually volunteered to come help.

Why, you would never know, it was probably just going to end in disappointment.

Still, you stood with your legs parted, exactly as Will had instructed. Fingers pulled the bowstring back taut, the arrow nocked and ready to be sent flying. Just you and the target, you could do this. Before you could think anymore about it, you released the arrow and it soared… for a few seconds before promptly hitting the ground.

Seriously? It was like your dad was intentionally picking on you, making you bad at the things he was good at on purpose just to get a rise out of you. 

“Hey, that looked pretty good! You should try raising the arrow a little higher next time,” Will said from your right, shooting you an encouraging smile before turning back to helping Nico with his shooting. Nico wasn’t an archer, nor did he have any interest in shooting. He probably just liked the excuse to be close to Will.

You let out a groan as Leo stuck his thumbs in the air, grinning encouragingly as well.

“Come on, try again! I know you can do it! You make the… the preparation look so easy!” He was clearly trying his best to be supportive, but had no idea how to be so. It was annoying, he was too chipper. Plus, the two of you barely knew each other. Why was he even here anyway? This was one of the few rare occasions you’d seen him outside of his cabin or workspace. He spent hours there, according to Will. Supposedly he was working on something special, but nobody wanted to ask what it was yet.

You glared at him, but it didn’t seem to deter his attitude. His stupid face was really starting to bother you.

“If you think it’s so easy, why don’t you do it yourself.” You shoved the weaponry into his arms and stomped off. It was childish and uncalled for. You knew it, but you couldn’t take it anymore. Coming to this place was the worst decision of your life. Someone called out to you, probably Will, but you ignored him and kept going.

Hot tears pricked the back of your eyes as you made your way to the dock to sit and relax, clear your head. The dinner bell rang shortly after but you didn’t join them. It would be too embarrassing to see Nico, Leo and Will after your outburst. Plus, you weren’t hungry anyway. You just wanted to fit in somewhere, belong. Do something right.

As the sun began edging closer to the horizon, you realized though that you’d have to go back to your cabin eventually. Miserably, you picked yourself up off the dock and began the walk. Maybe if you were lucky, Will wouldn’t be back yet.

As you neared the cabins, your shoulders relaxed. You could hear the sounds of singing coming from the amphitheater. That meant everyone was distracted with a sing-along. You could sneak off to bed and nobody would even notice you missing.

“Hey! Wait up!” A voice said from behind you and you turned, immediately a wave of guilt flooding into you. Leo Valdez was making his way toward you, in his hand what looked to be a case. He probably wanted an apology for your freak out earlier, after all, none of it had been his fault.

You slowed so he could catch up, avoiding his eyes as he fell into step beside you. 

There was silence for a few beats, then he broke the silence; “Are you alright? You ran off really fast, I called out to you, but Will said it was probably better to give you your space.”

Somehow, he was only worried about you even though he had every right to be upset.

“I’m fine. Wouldn’t you rather be at the sing-a-long?”

His face turned slightly pinker, like he was almost embarrassed about being there with you and not with everyone else.

He swallowed and stuck out the case for you. “I… Well, I wanted to give you this and I promised Will I’d check on you so…”

You took the case, it wasn’t heavy. Curious, you kneeled down and placed it on the ground, opening it to see what was inside. Sitting there was a crossbow. It had clearly been modified, though you weren’t exactly sure how. Slowly, you lifted the weapon from its case and inspected it.

“It’ll probably be easier to shoot with than that big bow and- oof!” Leo was caught off guard by your arms around his neck, after you’d made sure to carefully put your new weapon back. You hugged him, feeling tears well up slightly.

Leo wrapped his arms back around you, and his body temperature seemed to rise a little the longer the two of you stayed like that. After a while though, he soon worried he may combust if you guys stayed like this much longer.

“I can show you how to use it..” He offered, gesturing over his shoulder to the archery field. 

The two of you made your way up to the archery field, empty because everyone was still at the amphitheater. He took your hands in his, guiding them where they were supposed to go. Ah, taking a page out of Will’s book, you thought, this must be his way of flirting.

Leo placed his hands gently on your waist to steady you, your eyes meeting and he once again looked away with that pink tint on his cheeks 

Your face heated up as you focused on aiming your weapon. Maybe, just maybe, camp wasn’t so lonely after all.

" Sunflower? Lena?" Charlie asked, looking for you and Silena. That's when you ran and jumped on his back almost knocking him over." Hi Sunflower. " Charlie said keeping you on his back . After half an hour of looking for Silena the two of you decided to go back to his bunk and just hang out and maybe cuddle. You got off of Charlie just before you went inside because you decided you could walk.

You two stopped just right outside his bunker as you both heard some voices. " Are you sure this Charles and Y/n are coming "? A voice asked it sounded like a male. " Yes usually were Silena Y/n and Charles aren't far behind. Where there's a Y/n usually Silena and Charles aren't far behind and where there's a Charles there's usually a Y/n and Silena not far behind. " It was Percy talking this time.

" I mean your not wrong about that seaweed brain. " You said walking in to Charlie's bunker with Charlie close behind you. You sat next to Lena on Charlie's bed. " I came to introduce Leo to Charles since he was claimed by Hephaestus. " Percy said. Looking around the room you saw Nico, Percy (of concourse) , Will and Annabeth also people you didn’t know. After the introductions were you decided to leave your two lovers so they could bond with their new siblings however that wasn't what happened since they wanted you to stay so you tagged along. Warnings: Mentions of scars but no specifications of how they got there, I tried to keep it Gender neutral but kind of failed

You stood in front of the mirror, the sight of the scars on your body making you nauseous. They were disgusting. You were disgusting. Everything about your scarred and ugly body was disgusting.

They made you ugly, gross, and disgusting.

You hadn't heard them come in..

"What's got your pretty head so wrapped up, huh?" He questioned from behind you, startling you out of your thoughts. You raised your gaze to see Percy behind you in the mirror, his arms crossed as he leaned against the door frame, that flirty dumb smirk that made you swoon laid on his lips.

You turned towards him. "How long have you been there?" You questioned, still a bit startled.

"I asked first." He retorted, pushing himself off of the door frame and coming towards you.

You sighed, rolling your eyes and crossing your arms over your chest. You looked away from the mirror; away from him.

"It's nothing," you said, turning away from the mirror all together and grabbing your shirt off the bed. Before you could put it on, Percy pulled the shirt out of your hands, multitasking and pulling you closer with his other arm.

"You and me both know thats a lie, sweetheart," you spoke into your ear.

"Get off, Percy.." You sighed.

"You're beautiful," you paused. He knew, didn’t he? He knew of your insecurities without you even telling him. But, maybe he was just saying that to say that.

His thumb swiped across a scar on your thigh. That made you realize he did know. He was extremely observant and perceptive despite the learning curves he's had.

"No..." You muttered under your breath. You didn’t agree with him.

He kissed your cheek. "C'mon, hon," he led you over to the bed.

"Wait, what?" Before you could even question anything, Percy had laid on top of you. "Percy! Get off of me!"

"Nope!" He grinned down at you. "I'm not getting off until you agree with me that you are beautiful!"

You sighed in annoyance, giving him a scowl before he leaned his weight on you and hugged your middle. No matter how annoying and stubborn he was, he always managed to make you feel better.

You hugged him with one arm, and you winded your hand into his hair.

Even if the inkling of insecurities still rests in the back of your mind, Percy would keep them in the back. As long as he was with you, there was no chance those thoughts were coming forward. He's there for you, and he always will be.

"What's wrong?" She asked. She could always tell. All it took for her was a glance your way, and she could read every emotion you felt.

You glanced at her in the mirror, your gaze resting back on your scars.

Annabeth waited a moment before sighing softly. She stepped forward towards you, placing a warm and comforting hand on your elbow.

"You have to get out of your head, love," her voice was soft, comforting. Something she didn't show a lot of the time unless she fully trusted who she was talking to.

"I know," you muttered, stepping into her arms, "I know I do, it's just.. It's just so hard, sometimes." Annabeth stared at you for a moment.

She grabbed your hand, "Come with me," she told you.

"Where are we going?" You asked softly.

"To the strawberry fields." She gave you a smile.

You stared at her. Now, the back or her head as she leads you to the strawberry fields. She always knew you so well. The strawberry fields were always so calming to you. You liked to take strolls in them whenever you were feeling stressed.

"My love," you looked up from the strawberries, looking to your girlfriend.

"Yes?"

"You are beautiful." Your lips parted in a bit of surprise. "I love your scars, and your hair, and your smile, and just.." She paused, kneeling down and giving you a kiss on the cheek. "I love you."

You hadn't seen or even heard the sneaky son of Hermes come into the room. You only noticed him when his warm hand grabbed your hand from behind you startled you.

"Connor?" You questioned, having jumped a moment before when he startled you.

You looked at him in the mirror. His hand on your arm was so light, yet so firm and warm. Your eyes widened slightly when you saw him lean down to your arm, his lips touching a scar on said arm.

You watched him trail his gentle kisses along your scars. Gods, you loved his kisses, and he loved giving them.

Your heart rate increased when his other hand met your torso, gently pulling you to face him just as his lips got to the base of your neck.

"Connor..." You muttered, but he didn't respond as he kissed your jaw.

You gasped softly when his lips finally met yours in a firm yet gentle kiss. And just like his hands on your body, it made you swoon. You leaned into him, and he set his hands on your hips as you laid your arms around his neck.

"You are beautiful," He said, just barely against your lips. You could feel his breath as he spoke, "say it back, tell me you are beautiful."

You were silent for a moment. His eyes had stayed closed for a few moments after the kiss, but when he opened his eyes. You were met with his beautiful sky blue eyes.

"I.." You hesitated, your lip trembling for a second. "I'm beautiful.." You finally muttered out, voice slightly shaky.

"There you go," He smiled, giving your lips a few pecks, "my beautiful girl."

His thumb was gently swiping over a scar on your hip. You didn't want his thumb anywhere else. And for the first time in a long time, you felt a bit better about yourself.

You felt beautiful.

"Well, look at my gorgeous baby!" Leo cheered, that happy smile you could never resist on his face. He hugged you from behind, his warm and dirty arms landing around your waist. He hadn't realized you were feeling down. Not immediately, anyway.

Leo paused, looking at you in the mirror. He could tell something was wrong. "What is it, mi amor?" He questioned. Those dumb nicknames always made your heart flutter.

"Nothing, I..." You paused, swallowing your disgust for yourself. "I'm fine.." Your voice was quieter.

"I can tell when something is wrong," his arms tightened, "Tell me." He urged almost desperately. He hates seeing you upset, and he hates not being able to help even more.

"I feel.." You paused, staring at him in the mirror. Your eyes locked within it. He was listening intently and waiting patiently for what you would say. "My scars.." You said softly.

"Your scars?" He questioned. He ran his hand across one of the scars on your torso, "What about em'? I love em'"

Your heart fluttered at the feeling of his warm hand over the scar. "How could you possibly love them?" You asked, tears welling in your eyes. Your voice was almost breathless, he has to be lying. "They're so gross and ugly, and.." You stopped, preferring to hold the sob in your throat back rather than continuing on rant.

Leo's gaze softened, "Hey, hey.." He gently turned you around. You just opted to hide your face within your hands. "Hey, Hermosa," his voice was gentle, so we're his hands as he grabbed yours, prying them off your face. "You are the most gorgeous person I have ever laid my eyes on, and a few scars isn't going to change that." He could tell his words weren't helping, so he decided on something that might.

Leo backed up for a second, pulling his shirt over his head. "You say I'm handsome all the time," he started, pointing at a scar on his chest. "Does this make me any less handsome?" He questioned.

You sniffed, wiping your eyes and nose. "No..." You muttered quietly.

"Right," he dropped his shirt on the floor and stepped closer to you. One of his arms, he winded behind your back, pulling you closer to him. Then his other, he raised his hand, wiping you tears with his gentle yet calloused thumb, "So why should your scars make you any less beautiful?"

He placed his hand on your jaw, gently holding it as he leaned in and set his warm lips on top of yours.

-You two started out as just friends, of course Leo would playfully flirt now and again but that’s just who he was. He loved to make people smile and you’d light up a room with yours. Anytime you’d laugh at one of his dumb flirting attempts he’d get the dorkiest grin. 

-”Are you Medusa? Because I’d turn to stone so I could spend eternity staring at your beauty.” He had never been more proud of himself as he saw you blush and giggle. Even though both Percy and Annabeth gave each other a grimace as if remembering a bad memory. Leo thought it was a good one though! 

-Leo knew you were wayyy out of his league. He tried to ignore his feelings but at this point he couldn’t. Anytime he tried to focus on something his mind would wander back to you. Just simple things like ‘Ah she’d love this new machine!’ or ‘She’d be really mad if she knew I was up this late…’ But those thoughts plagued his every waking moment.

- “I just can’t get her out of my mind!” Leo complains to one of his siblings Jake Manson who gives him a sympathetic pat on the back. “It’d just… Never work out though… I’m… I’m a son of Hephaestus and she’s well… A daughter of Aphrodite. It’s like a nerd trying to get with a popular girl.” Leo complains, waving his hand as he explains this.

-Jake raises a brow with that, opening his mouth but seems to remember something before he speaks. “Ah that’s right… You never got the chance to meet Charles…” he hums softly and digs through his pocket showing Leo a picture of Charles and Silena, Silena was kissing his cheek while Charles was as red as a tomato. “Charles was the counselor before I was, and Silena was a daughter of Aphrodite. It shouldn’t have worked but… They made it work. They were the best couple in the whole camp.” There was sadness in Jake’s voice but he looked at the picture with fondness and melancholy. 

-Leo felt a bit guilty but seeing the two people smiling in the picture he couldn’t help but wonder how he managed to do it. Leo had fought monsters, faced the world ending, and he was still too scared to try and ask you out… Maybe he really was helpless…

Leo Valdez x Modern!Reader x Percy Jackson

-They really didn’t get along well, Leo and Percy were like two sides of the same coin. Leo used his brains and mechanical skills to work through problems. He was head of the mechanics team after all! And Percy? Percy was captain of the swim team, strong, toned and downright eye candy. Not to mention he wasn’t afraid to get into a fight.

-You really weren’t sure how you managed to get stuck in this. You thought you were pretty good at sticking to yourself and minding your own business. Well, guess that was wrong. The two would constantly be fighting and arguing around you. 

-It started off with small things, just arguments you didn’t bother to stick around for, but then it started to escalate. Percy would go into the mechanic club room soaking wet with his team getting the room soaked. And for revenge? Leo set off a glitter bomb in the pool that took two weeks to clean up. -You couldn’t stand it anymore! You call both boys out to the school roof, arms crossed angrily. “I’ve had just about enough of you both!” you yell angrily. They both look sheepish as they knew they had taken it too far if you were that mad at them.

-”Can’t you guys just like… Kiss or get together or… Something! Stop dragging me into your weird flirting!” you complain. The both pause slowly, turning to each other at the same time in shock. They stare at each other for a bit before they both burst out laughing like it was the funniest thing they ever heard.

-You’re left standing there utterly confused as they laugh loudly, Leo even rubbing a tear from his eye as Percy slaps his leg from laughing too hard. “We like *you*! We were fighting over *you*! We weren’t flirting with each other!” Leo explains the gears slowly turn in your head as it finally clicks and you feel the heat rising in your face making the boys burst out laughing again. “I thought I was dense!” Percy complains between laughter fits.

Late Night at Bunker 9

Leo Valdez x Reader 

** I will be making all my characters gender neutral **

(I am non-binary and it’s so hard finding gender neutral fanfics) 

I laid comfortably in a hammock with my ear buds in. My favorite song was playing loudly in my ears as I read my favorite book. The music was to keep out the very noisy machinery happening around me. Leo had decided to wake up in the middle of the night to make phones that don't attract monsters for us demigods, but honestly I'd rather sleep than watch him make phones.

I almost denied his request to join him, but the way he smiled from his excitement made it too hard to resist. So here I was, trying not to fall asleep as Leo worked away.

I turn to my left and see Leo working intently at his worktable. His lips were pressed tightly as he concentrated, adding tiny screws and other things I couldn't identify to a small rectangular box.

"Are you almost done?" I half asked, half whined.

"It's only been like two hours," Leo responded, still not taking his eyes of his work. "Something like this won't be done that fast."

"How long do you think it will take?" I asked, removing my earbuds and closing my book.

Leo looked up, thinking. "Probably like... another 22 hours?That’s not including bathroom breaks and a ten minute nap."

"What?" I shouted, surprised. I sit up, nearly falling out of the hammock. "Dude, can't you do this after a good night sleep? Please? I'm so tiredddd!"

"Fine, you can go to sleep," Leo said, turning back to his phone.

"But Leo," I said, walking to him and leaning on his back, wrapping my arms around his neck. He still didn't look back. "I was hoping we could, like, cuddle?"

"Y/N, I'm really busy," Leo answered. "Maybe when I'm done?"

I groaned. "C'monnn! Please?"

"I can'ttttt!" Leo whined back, mocking me. I grab his hands and remove the items he was holding. I intertwine my fingers with his and spin him around his chair. Pulling him up, I bring him to the hammock. He's smiling and closing his eyes, leaning his head back and bringing no effort to follow me. "Y/NNNN, let me get back to workkk!"

"Nope!" I said, popping the 'p'. I pull him into the hammock with me and he lays on me, his head in the crook of my neck. It seems like he gave in cause he wraps his arms around me and removes his shoes, allowing them to fall with a small 'thump' on the ground. I rub his back and play with his hair. "See. This isn't better than working, is it?"

"Oh the power you hold over me," Leo whispered, laughing slightly.

"I work magic, don't I?" I smirked. Leo giggled.

"Are you sure you didn't give me a love potion or something?" Leo asked skeptically.

"Well, how else was a person like me gonna get with a guy like you?" I whispered.

Leo was silent for a little bit, thinking. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"I'm way out of your league, Leo," I replied, surprised. Obviously he knew that. Right? "You pretty much saved the world, you're part of the Big Seven, you are incredibly smart, and you're so talented. Not only that, but you are incredibly attractive."

Leo remained silent after my statement. He seemed to need lots of time to process my words because for nearly twenty minutes we laid there, warm despite the cold winter breeze that knocked on the door, and comfortable in each others embrace.

"That's really weird," he commented finally. "When I met you, I instantly fell in love. You looked incredibly beautiful. Everything about you made me trip over nothing. After getting to know you more, my situation only got worse. The way you care, the way you love. The way you hide in your hands when your nervous. The silly way you pour syrup on your waffles and pancakes. That dangerous look on your face when you're sparring. The way you move at the speed of light when you hear someone play your favorite show." Leo stopped. He got up and switched positions with me. I was now laying on top of him as he brushed his hands threw my hair. "The way you don't take anything from anyone, no matter their position. I'm the one out of your league. I may be smart, I may be part of the Big Seven, but that's about it. Other than that, under all that, I'm just a repair boy who can't sit still."

I feel tears brim my eyes. I've never been very confident. I've never thought of myself as anything special. Just a kid that can't get my head out of the clouds. But here he was, Leo Valdez, telling me everything I never thought I'd hear.

"I love you, Valdez," I whispered, holding him tighter. I could hear his heart beat speeding up. It was nearly as if I could feel it beating through his chest.

He took a quick breath. "I... I love you too."

He pulled me off of him and sat up. He then brought both of his hands on my cheek and looked at me in the eyes, his smile big and bright. "I love you too."

I smiled and then, we kissed. It was a long, passionate kiss. Full of love. It wasn't inappropriate, or the nasty kisses you see on T.V. It was a genuine, loving kiss.

And I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world.

Maybe this late night at Bunker 9 wasn't such a bad idea after all.

(Not me making this chapter during class and nearly crying because I'm a total genius for making this.)

A/N this turned out more gender neutral sorry

Leo was frustrated. He has been working on a project for a few days now and it just wasn't working. Everytime he turned it on it just charged up, paused, then died. 

It was definitely frustrating him as every time he opens it up nothing seems to be wrong, all the wires are connected, nothings broken. He's been in bunker nine all day just trying to figure out what's wrong. 

He also missed you. You were his…best friend?. Leo couldn't figure a term out to describe your relationship other than complicated. You guys flirted with each other most of the time but were still close friends even if Leo was in love with you secretly. You see you went on the quest with Jason, Leo, and Piper and were friends with Leo and Piper before that in the school you guys went to. 

Anyway now with the whole Gaea thing over and Leo back from the dead it seemed pretty peaceful lately. Other than the Hermes cabin pranking everyone that was about it. 

Now you were on your way to bunker nine to bring Leo some food and some water as he's been in there all day. You made some sandwiches to bring and knocked on the door to bunker nine.(man i really need to reread these books i keep forgetting where it's at) Leo’s head snapped up at the sound and quickly yelled “Come in!”. 

You opened the door without dropping anything which was good and quickly found a table that had nothing on it and put everything in your hands on the table. You turned around to face Leo and saw he was already sucked back into the project he was working on. You sighed as you saw he looked so exhausted this project must be hard. 

“What's going on?” You asked as you walked closer to where Leo was. “I cant get this stupid thing to work” Leo said frustrated. You looked down to where the project was on the table. You were no Hephestus kid but you did know a little bit about the stuff Leo was working on. 

“Can you open it up?” You requested turning your head to look at Leo. Instead of replying he opened it and let you look at it while he tapped his fingers against the back of your hand, a habit he's had since he met you. 

You looked at the thing for a few more minutes before you unplugged two wires from where they were and connected them to each other. You closed it again and let Leo try it again. “It worked!!” Leo exclaimed happy that this project was finally working. 

You laughed at how happy he was. He turned his head towards you and grabbed your shoulders “Thank you Thank you Thank you” Leo said as he bounced up and down. You laughed a little more until Leo quickly leaned in and gave you a peck on the lips not even noticing it from his excitement. 

You stood there for a minute shocked that Leo kissed you. Leo didn't even notice as he turned back to the project smiling at it. “Uh Leo” 

“What?” Leo asked, turning his head back to you. His actions caught back up to his brain and quickly realized what he did. “O-oh gods i'm so sorry” Leo stuttered out.

Leo was panicking. Did he really just kiss you? The answer was yes of course now he was wishing he could quickly make a time machine before you even noticed which was impossible but maybe he could do it. Probably not though. 

You bit your lip a little in thought before you quickly grabbed his shirt and pulled him towards you. Leo's eyes widened before he quickly closed them and kissed you back. You broke apart after a few more seconds and licked your lips. Leo was still panicking. You could tell from his eyes they were darting around looking at everything but you. 

You laughed a little to yourself. “So fire boy do you like me back” You said quite boldly not really sure where the confidence came from. “Yeah mhm” Leo said very high pitched before he cleared his throat and said “Yes yes i do”. You laughed again and said “so are you gonna ask me to be your partner or what?” 

“I-I Will you u-uh be my partner?” Leo asked, still nervous yet excited that you liked him back. “Sure fire boy”

I write poly fics with any character

I write for female, and gender neutral readers only, but if you have already sent me a request with a male reader/ gender fluid reader I will write it

If you have sent me a request about a character I no longer write for I will still complete the request but I after I clear out my drafts of those characters and their repespective requests any new requests sent about characters from my old master list I will not complete the request.

You had gone to find your half brother Leo but he wasn't the only one you found. You rolled your eyes she was here again who is she you may ask .... Piper McLean daughter of Aphrodite she got along with your half brother Leo valdez. Actually why you two couldn't get along . " Oh I'm sorry I didn't expect to find a princess like you in a place like this. " You replied snarkly after accidentally stepping on Piper's foot. " The fuck is wrong with you!? Piper exclaimed. " Me?" You scoffed. " Nothing is wrong with me. You should go back to the Barbie house." You replied. " Go back to your pig ....." Piper started to say but realized she was in the Hephaestus cabin and Leo was right there as well. Piper punched your arm then stormed out of the Hephaestus cabin.

" So why can't you and Piper get along? It pains me that one of my best friends doesn't get along with my favorite half sibling." Leo replied. You sighed softly. " I honestly don't know Leo....now what the fuck did I come in here to ask you?" You asked and Leo laughed. " If you don't know then why should I?" Leo asked still laughing. " Touchè." You replied.

" JASON, JASON, JASON!" Leo yelled accidentally giving poor Jason a heart attack. " Fu..... Leo you scared the living shit out of me." Jason replied. " Sorry but I need you're help with something." Leo replied. " What?" Jason questioned. " Just make sure Piper is over by the closet near the stables after dinner. " Leo replied. Jason was about to question him farther but Leo was already gone.

It was well after dinner and Leo had asked you to meet him at the stables honestly you should have known it was a trap but hey Leo's your half brother and you trust him. You heard the sound of a twig snap behind you but before you could fully react you got pushed into somewhere.... along with someone else. " Could you please get off me?" You questioned the person who had landed on top of you. " Yeah sorry about that..." The person replied wait a minute. " PIPER??!" You shouted. " Y/n...." Piper replied as you're flashlight shined on her. You tried to open the door but it was locked. " Dam it Leo!" You curse.

" I'm not like the other Aphrodite kids." Piper said. " I know. Alot of Aphrodite kids wouldn't come into the Hephaestus cabin because of the grease, blood, sweat, sawdust, dust and a lot of other things...but you you're different you couldn't give two fucks if you're clothes get muddy or stained..." You replied. " Then why do you hate me??" Piper asked you could see tears forming in her eyes. You sighed softly. " I was scared and jealous. Jealous because Leo and I are close and it kind of felt like I was loosing him to you in a way. I was also scared of my feelings for you that you would just laugh in my face if I told you how I truly feel about you. " You said. Not expecting her to cut you off by kissing you.

" I don't deserve you.....you deserve better especially after I was such an ass to you. " You muttered to her after she pulled away

" We all love in our own way." Piper replied

When Leo and Jason came to check on you two the next morning you two were cuddled up to each other in the closet fast asleep.
