Madrigal triplets besides being my faves they also share birthday 17th of October and that day here in Colombia we celebrate the ethnicity day which is so cool considering that all of the triplets even if they are siblings resemble different features and tone skins what is very Colombian if you ask me lol but is also funny that their birthday coincide with this celebration besides the tragic beginning of the thousand days war date. I don’t know but for me was cute sharing this with the Encanto fandom family 🥺🙈😇 it would be nice if we get some Q&A from Jared and beautiful fan arts from this talented fandom.

Julieta & Bruno headcanons
Tumblr media
for @hectic-hector we both know these two are the best!
They're 15 minutes apart
Julieta gave Alma a heart attack because she was born calm, without crying or noise.
But she was the healthiest baby. Bruno was born weaker and smaller than his sisters.
He couldn't sleep alone, he always had to be between his sisters, but over time Pepa became more independent, leaving them alone.
It never bothered Julieta, and even after getting their own rooms and gifts, she would always leave an empty spot next to her on the bed, knowing that Bruno would appear at any time of the night.
While Pepa preferred to play outside and explore, Bruno and Julieta were home children. They would play chess, cards, puzzles, or read together.
They were the ones who could pretend to be each other, which greatly bothered Pepa. They stopped when they realized that it really hurt her not to look like her siblings.
Bruno was Julieta's guinea pig while she learned to cook. He trusted his sister, and no matter how bad the food looked, he would eat it and be honest about the taste.
Because of this, Bruno actually learned to cook and is really good at it, he just prefers to leave the hard work to his sister.
But he doesn't hesitate to take over if Julieta needs to rest.
Bruno was the baby when they played. Always. Sometimes it was hard for him to know when the game ended because Julieta would treat him like a baby anyway.
He's a gentleman and he was since he was little. He would open the door for his sisters or help them cross puddles or give them the hand when they went down the stairs.
Again, with Pepa more interested in exploring and being independent, Bruno stopped doing it with her, but he always did it for Julieta, even as adults, he still retains those instincts and makes sure to be a total gentleman with her.
Pepa complains about this, saying that he was never "good" to her and that it was obvious who his favorite sister was.
Bruno simply agrees and hugs Julieta while he sticks his tongue out at Pepa.
"As if she wasn't your favorite too" (Yes, yes she is. Julieta is the favorite sister of her two siblings, but they still love each other…in their own way)
Julieta just laughs, but she hugs Bruno back while she smiles evilly at Pepa just to annoy her.
"Mamá!! Your children are evil!!" "I don't remember any of them breaking my vases as kids, tho" "I can't believe this family treats me like this, betrayal after betrayal." (Pepa's the drama queen, you can't change my mind)
Bruno was not very good at school, he was better than Pepa, but he still had a hard time understanding many things. Julieta spent afternoons patiently explaining to him what she had understood.
For that reason, Bruno got used to going to her when he had doubts, even after returning to the family.
Julieta's the secret keeper for both her siblings. In a way, she knows them better than Alma (or Félix in Pepa's case) ever will.
When Julieta felt too pressured by the expectations of her mother and the town, she hid in Bruno's room.
He never questioned it, he simply sat with her, listening to her without interrupting and offering hugs from time to time (he didn't know what else to do).
She knew that she didn't have to be perfect with him, that she could make mistakes, do stupid things, scream, jump, just be herself, without fear of being judged.
Bruno loves those moments. He got used to seeing his older sister as a perfect doll, it was nice to be able to see her being human again.
Julieta was the only person Pepa couldn't beat in a fight (the woman is strong, okay? We don't give her enough credit just because she's the calmest of the triplets), which is why Bruno hid behind her every time Pepa intimidated him.
She cooked whatever she was in the mood to make, but it was more common for her to spoil Bruno with food than her sister and mother. But she would never admit it.
When the grandchildren were born, Julieta's daughters immediately chose him as their favorite "mom's sibling".
"It wasn't enough for you to steal my sister, now you are also taking my nieces from me?!" "Pepa, your cloud!"
When his sisters started dating, instead of trying to seem intimidating, he would simply tell the suitors that if they hurt any of them, he would give them a horrible vision (he knows his gift doesn't work like that, but it was his way of protecting Pepa and Juli).
His favorite niece is Mirabel. No questions, no doubts. I'm not even going to argue this point, I'll just say that she was his favorite from the moment she was born (probably because she looked so much like Julieta and in a way he felt like he could repay her for all the love and care she had for him through Mirabel).
The night he disappeared, the only person he had time to write to was Julieta. He didn't tell her where he was going, he just asked her not to hate him and that he promised her he would be okay. He thanked her for everything she had done for him and said he was sorry for not being the best brother to her.
It was the worst pain Julieta had ever felt. It was as if she had lost one of her babies, and she refused to leave her room for weeks, clinging to that letter.
In the end, only Pepa was able to get her out of there, reminding her that she still had her, and that she needed her. The two became closer in those years because of the fear they had of losing each other too.
Julieta hated her mother and sister's unspoken rule not to talk about Bruno. She hated it with all her soul, but she knew that she couldn't do anything about it if she didn't want to make things worse for Mirabel.
She didn't say anything when Pepa went to vent to her and inevitably ended up cursing Bruno, she simply sat next to her and hugged her, even if she didn't agree with what she said.
Still, she couldn't be mad at Bruno. Hurt, sad and desperate maybe, but never really angry.
She could never hate him, she could not curse his name nor could she harbor resentment in her heart for having left her. He was still her brother and even though she didn't know where he was, she still loved him and refused to say a single bad thing about him.
Bruno not only chose the hiding place near the kitchen because of the free food, but because it is the place where Julieta spent the most time, and being with her (even if she didn't know it) calmed him down and made him feel better.
He sometimes wondered if what he did was worth it, as he listened to Julieta break down little by little.
There's no way in the world Julieta left him out of her sight for more than a few minutes when he returned. There was simply no human power that would make her turn away from him, for fear of losing him again if she looked away.
Bruno didn't care, knowing that he had years to make up for hurting her.
Curiously, rebuilding his relationship with her was more difficult than with Pepa and Alma or anyone else.
Perhaps because he had never been as close to them as he was with his older sister, and it broke his heart to realize that the reason the miracle had broken in the first place was not just because of Alma's expectations on the family, but because he himself had broken the strongest bond he had as well.
It took a few months for them to start trusting each other the same way they had. Bruno had to learn to talk to her freely again, without sounding like he was walking on eggshells around her.
And Julieta had to learn to give him space, to trust that he wouldn't leave again and take his word that she hadn't been the reason he left in the first place, that she really had done enough and more for him.
It was a slow process, but they managed to make it work and that was all that mattered to them.
And that's all for now because I could go on and on about these two and we would never leave this post. I just love them so so much!!! (and Pepa too)

Madrigal triplet headcanons? (:
ooh yay another one I don’t get often!!
bruno’s biggest confidants are his sisters!
pepa married first!! and they had bets on who would be the first to be married!
bruno would always say stuff like “get a room!!” when the couples do pda!
I’ve seen people say the sisters are similar to the triplets in dynamics I’ve always seen it as julieta= luisa, the reliable one always working passive! pepa= mirabel, always messes up, tries to hide negative emotions to not bring down everyone else’s mood, feels like a burden. Bruno = isabela, expectations! gift was seen as something adored (at first) only good visions!= only roses! feels limited by their gift
random one but I feel like they would enjoy coffee mornings!
bruno is very blunt! he doesn’t even realize how he sounds sometimes and pepas like ?????
when bruno gets out of the walls his sisters come with him to reintroduce to the townspeople!
I feel post movie bruno would do things like help julieta in the kitchen or accompany pepa to the town! small ways to get closer
julieta was quite sly when younger! pepa and Bruno were more impulsive
bruno was always dramatic😭 him and pepa would clash a lot but julieta would never take sides!

Misc. Bruno Headcanons
Just some things that have been gathering in my brain over time. I know I’m forgetting a bunch /edits later.
He can sleep just about anywhere—if he’s able or willing to sleep at all, that is.
He’s weirdly good at feigning sleep too, which would come in handy when Pepa came to bother him (still does for that reason).
Bruxes at his rats by clicking his tongue. They brux back. (This one’s taken from my own life lol.)
Loves all things warm, especially after coming out of the walls.
Soups and stews are among his favorite things to eat—it was probably hard for him to get these in the walls, either by sneaking them back or making them himself.
Has a very cute belly laugh, which all but ceased over the years of increasing strain and stress. It becomes even cuter after he gains his pudge. The family members who remember his laugh (Juli, Pepa, his mamá, Gus and Félix) are very happy when they finally hear it again.
His love language is acts of service. He enjoys receiving touch, especially if it’s gentle and careful at first, and even though he’s hesitant and doesn’t always like to ask (or expect it).
Dances around his family/loved ones—not a social dancer.

A little note for the ones that love to say that Pepa is “abusive”.
Tumblr media
Wait, there’s more.. (this supports my own headcanon about Pepa’s anger towards Bruno. plus the fact that “rain on a wedding day” in Latin American cultures is scene as bad luck for the marriage. I’d cause a hurricane too.)
Tumblr media
Have your headcanons, but you can not say that she does not care about her family (Especially her own children!) when there is evidence within the movie to prove that she does. Pepa never intends on hurting anyone no matter how hostile her weather can get due to her emotional state.
It reminds me when people in my own life have villianized me and others for simply having strong emotions, it’s extremely toxic and just teaches us that “emotions are bad” or women shouldn’t be taken seriously because we’re “oh so emotional and hysterical.”
I’m not saying you HAVE to like Pepa as a character, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, likes, and dislikes but it bothers me when so many fans discredit her as being a good mother, sister or overall human being simply for human reactions and emotions.

Do you think the Madrigal triplets keep their baby blankets? (Headcannons for this! GO!)
I think Alma would definitely hold onto them, however I don't think she'd reuse them/gift them to her grandchildren to use. I feel like they'd be too special for her to pass on, so she probably just keeps them in her bedside drawer or underneath her pillow. Having this idea in mind, I think that when Bruno left, she probably slept with his blanket for comfort🥺

Julieta Madrigal, Pepa Madrigal, Bruno Madrigal, random headcanons
!english isn’t my first language, so there can be some grammar mistakes that I am sorry for in advance!
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
JULIETA
she loves her daughters to the moon, but secretly wishes she had at least one son
for that reason, she became very close with her two nephews
she has only cried seven times in her life: every time she found out she was pregnant, every time Pepa found out she was pregnant and when Bruno left
every morning she takes some leftovers from breakfast and puts them in Agustín‘s pocket just in case
her love language is touch
she’s afraid of small animals, like mice, but loves big ones, like jaguars
when she and her siblings were little, they would experiment with Julieta’s gift like checking if using expired products for cooking would affect the food’s healing abilities
she’s very minimalistic and hates when there’s a mess
when she’s stressed or exhausted, Agustín plays on a piano for her for hours till she falls asleep, she loves it
cleans Mirabel’s glasses because her daughter forgets to do it herself
when Isabela’s sad, she brushes her hair very very tenderly, she also hums a song while doing so
loves to squish and kiss Luisa’s cheeks
secretly loves reading books packed with a lot of action
can do a cartwheel
the most infectious laugh and when she laughs out loud you know that whatever joke she had heard was hilarious
PEPA
as a teenager, she was really insecure about her hair because it was always tangled an unruly, only after she started dating Félix who turned out to be great at braiding, did she start loving her curls more and more
her siblings envy her for her height
she gets easily sunburnt
the weather mixes when she gets drunk, she feels a lot of emotions at once so it can be hailing while there’s three rainbows above the house
she’s addicted to coffee
her love language is words of affirmations
when someone cries around her, she’ll also start crying
she misplaces a lot of her stuff
both coffee and tea person
fixes her children’s hair at every given occasion
sometimes when she’s bored she places Antonio on her feet and holds his hands while walking like this around the Casita, she used to do that with Camilo and Dolores when they were little
used to make tea for Camilo when he’d get upset as a kid, he picked up on it and that’s why he does it for her now
still calls Dolores “my baby” or “my little, sweet girl”, basically refuses to acknowledge her oldest is all grown-up
BRUNO
awkward with children, the thought of being a parent stresses him out
meditates in his free time
is the kind of person to get the joke after like ten minutes of it being said
eats really fast
always hurts his fingers when sewing
bites his lip a lot
is actually very intelligent and gets annoyed when he has to explain something for the third time
uses boring visions as night lights
knew Félix and  Agustín prior to his sisters
his love language is gift giving
loves making sand castles
after he had to give Antonio his jaguar plushie back, Bruno asked Mirabel for one
enjoys wearing a birthday hat
has a spare hair tie on his wrist at all times
when they were kids and Alma was measuring their height, Bruno would cheat by standing on his tiptoes
after he came back, everyone would make sure that he would always stand in the middle while taking a family picture
MASTERLIST
happy birthday to my favorite triplets <3

Can’t stop thinking about Bruno being five years younger than Julieta and Pepa and the changes in dynamics now, whoops.
He’s the only one in the first generation to have no memories of Pedro at all, but at least he doesn’t remember Pedro dying.
He is The Baby and if you mess with him, Pepa will zap you.
Félix takes one look at this 10 year old like, “Hm, guess I have a sibling now. I will be The Cool Brother.”
Agustín desperately wants to be The Cool Brother and falls flat on his face.
Bruno telling the kids not to worry about Julieta and Pepa nagging, because they’re “a pair of old ladies.” (Pepa zaps him)
Anon, thank you, I’m having so much fun 🙏

OK so I was thinking about Encanto again lol and in the movie seems that even if Alma is the candleholder is Mirabel the one who seems closer to Casita and idk if the Miracle canonically has favorites between the family members but I think in the case of the triplets is noticeable how Julieta has some extra points in comparison to her siblings. Like she was the first one to born, the first one to open the door so she is the first one of the Madrigal family having a gift ( like she was the first one showed in the movie opening the door), her gift is the most useful and also project very well her personality, she is the one who gave birth the first granddaughter that turned out to be the towns and Alma's favorite, she gave birth the granddaughter with the most useful gift and her youngest daughter is the next matriarch of the family. She is a healer and people seems comfortable around her, she has a good marriage, she is really gorgeous and actually even if many people says is Bruno for me Julieta is the triplet that resemble the most to Pedro features and his cute and clingy personality. Is my theory but I think Julieta plays an important part of the family and town but also she was evidently blessed by the miracle cuz of this last thing that I said and is cuz she is the most similar to Pedro and maybe mentally stronger to get that responsibilities ( I'm not gonna say mentally healthy cuz girl is traumatized as well as her siblings and I would love to explain and got a deep analysis about her trauma too). BTW Bruno and Pepa are so amazing but their gifts are so attached to their mental or emotional state that this combined with the stress of the pressure of Alma's high expectations it makes them vulnerable and really overwhelmed so Julieta had to be their rock between them. But is just my thoughts so anyone is free to disagree but I think that she is that kind of sibling that always stands up or seems to shine brighter cuz she takes all the first and big responsibilities 🙃😅

Please Write This pt 2
I want to read about Agustin and Felix navigating through the triplets’ close bond, and trying to crack the code they all seem to have.
Give me Bruno ranting about his day with incoherent mutters and grunts while his sisters gasp and go “What? I can’t believe she would say that!”
I need Agustin and Felix to have a playful argument about their girlfriends by bragging about the stuff they’re great at, and it slowly devolves to “Well, Julieta is better at gardening” and “Oh yeah? Pepa’s the best when it comes to dancing whenever we’re on a date” until the girls start crying because they’ve been compared their whole lives and can’t handle their partners putting the other down.
Let me see Julieta and Felix grow closer as in-laws while Pepa and Agustin are on a stupid adventure in the jungle. And I want Bruno in the background discovering himself and why he was never interested in dating like his sisters were.
Give me a scene where one of the husbands screw up big time and the siblings won’t even acknowledge his existence, so he has to go to the other brother-in-law just to find out what he did wrong. Maybe Agustin hit a nerve with his teasing, or Felix brought up a sore subject that no one else wanted to remember.
And I want Alma to interrogate them. I want her to be paranoid and go full-blown Mama bear mode when Pepa comes home crying due to a misunderstanding. I want her to make Agustin beg on his goddamn hands and knees before Julieta interrupts and is like “Mama, please, you can’t keep doing this to ALL of my boyfriends.”

“Some Promise” 😭
More Javi angst? Yes. So I’ve introduced that Javi’s room reflects his emotions , Ive made a list of colors that could be associated to a certain type of emotion and I wanna present it in like a comic exploring more of Bruno’s relationship with his son Javi and how close they used to be. (Basically a two birds with one stone thing)
Javi’s Room Colors:
-Teal: Default Color/Calm
-Mint Green: Happy
-Red: Anger/Pain
-Deep Blue: Sadness
-Magenta & Purple: Fear/Stress
-Chartreuse: Disgust
- Light Purple: Surprise/Shock
-Gray: Shame
Theres no doubt that Javi’s room is beautiful, its just that a vast and dark cave was a little too frightening for young Javi— so it kinda took some time for him to be comfortable in his new room.

First of all I really enjoy your work, its amazing:) So I wonder if you would be interested in an switch gift AU especially with the triplets. What I mean with that is, what would had happened if Julieta was the one with the vision gift. And she would had that vision of Mirabel. Do you think she would pull an Bruno? Of tried the negotiat with Alma? ( Sorry if there are riding mistakes)
Oh hello, thank you! ♥
Well, I wouldn't be interested in writing it, at least not at the moment because I have far too many WIPs and I feel like one more WIP would overwhelm me. Buuuut...
Back in March? Or February? Someone asked me about the AUs I was thinking about and one of them was the gift switch where Pepa was still Pepa but Bruno's and Julieta's gifts were switched. So you got a healer Bruno and a seer Julieta.
How things are in that AU?
Well, Pepa is still Pepa...
Bruno is still Bruno, meaning he still has OCD and loves his rats (which enrages everyone, especially Alma, because rats in the kitchen?!) and he's still that awkward man, though he's not seen as a black sheep now, just as a weirdo. Since he's very socially awkward, often Julieta (who has fewer duties than Pepa or him) helps him with food deliveries, and shopping and usually she's the one to be on his food stand and give people healing food.
That and her kind, shy, quiet nature make people more tolerant toward her gift than they were to Bruno in canon. She's forgiven more easily and if some villager is mean to her or threatens her, many people jump to her help because 1) she's Julieta, it's her charm and 2) she's a woman and if a man tries to let out his fury for a bad vision on her, there are other people that would always jump to her rescue.
Julieta is still a lot like in canon. Caring, kind, very family-oriented. She's less distant from her family, and because she found her place in the community by getting married and having kids, her room looks different as well and her stairs aren't that high. They barely changed over the years. Her room is just... more family-friendly and actually looks like a room, not some dessert cave lol
How did she meet Agustin, you may ask. Well, as I said, she often helped Bruno and stood on his stand and that's how one day that awkward boy met her, thinking she was a healer. It turned out she was a seer who thanks to her random quick vision, was able to see most of Agustin's injuries just in time to stop him from being hurt.
They bonded, they fell in love, they married, they had kids.
Now, Julieta always had known she'd have three children. That's why in this AU she was prepared for a miscarriage she would one day experience (my hc, don't mind it; also, it didn't mean she was ready for that when it happened, it still hurt) but she had no idea her youngest child would be born prematurely, her vision didn't tell her that until one day when a sharp pain she felt suddenly triggered a sudden vision that told her that her baby girl would come into this world soon, weeks earlier than she should. A lovely gift, isn't it? XD
So, in this scenario, Julieta would never leave her husband and children. When Mirabel didn't get a gift (which Julieta didn't see as well because she never looked into the kids' gifts), she had a vision, just like Alma asked but then... She consulted it with her husband. And they decided that they'd hide it. Julieta forced herself to have another vision and decided to give her mother this one while she hid the original one somewhere nobody but her would find her (or so she hoped).
(I also think that if Bruno had his own family, he would never leave as well but that's a side note of sorts XD)
Julieta and Agustin also decided that if Alma ever found out about the vision, they would probably move out because they knew her reaction about Mirabel being a possible danger to their house and the Miracle might make things worse.
But this Julieta is still a loving and very protective mother, so she stays. She keeps her daughters close. She bonds with Mirabel over being seen as the weirdest ones in the family (because even if this Julieta is rather liked by the villagers, she's still considered a freak because of her seeing abilities).
Would Bruno have his own family in this AU? I don't think so. I kinda like the aro-ace hc for him.
Would Luisa's and Isabela's gifts be different because Julieta's gift is different as well? Maybe, though I kinda like original ones... Like... Isabela gets a flower power to make her parents' room more livable and because she had always loved nature. Luisa gets her strength because this Julieta had also been an older sister, the responsible and caring one, so Luisa is the caring one as well.
So yeah... If any of you have some theories or hcs about this AY, you can drop it.
