An intro to enneagram 3

Tiana (Princess and The Frog) ESTJ 3w4 sp/so

Core desire: Value and appreciation

Vice (Deceit): Creating a persona to appeal to others. Will often look for reflections of themselves in the outside world instead of the internal one.

Fixation (Vanity): They gain a sense of value due to accomplishment and recognition.

Wings

3w2 (The Enchanter)-With the 2 wing this type will focus more on social aspects than an area of expertise themselves. They are go-getters who love social environments and will thrive in conversations. Will most likely be on the extroverted side. Focused on likability and more people oriented.

3w4 (The Professional) -With the 4 wing this type will focus more on focusing in an area of expertise more than social aspects. They are more introverted than the 3w2 and will be more focus on their internal world. Unlike the 3w2 who's more bright and out going the 3w4 will be more icy and detached socially.

Triad-Image Triad (2-3-4)

They will market a personality of being the best at what they are (Not necessarily superficiality and mean spiritedness) whether it is being mysterious or being insanely outgoing.

Harmonic Triad-Competency Triad (1-3-5)

Will focus on results and getting things done will detach emotionally from situations to have better results.

Hornevian Groups-Assertive triad (3-7-8)

They will focus on goals and getting what they want. Will focus more on personal productivity (doesn't mind cutting corners unlike 1s)

Object Relations-Attachment Triad (3-6-9)

They focus on being love and earning love through actions and achievements. Will struggle to create emotional connections.

Subtypes

Social (so)- The social 3 will focus on prestige and status. They want to be the best at something and they will get it. They are very unlikely to be confused with other types since they don't tend to hide their vanity and goals like other 3s. They put heavy enfaces on the external environment and will be more outgoing than other 3s. They can either focus on social leadership or their own personal agenda.

Ex-Daphne Blake (Scooby-Doo) ENFJ 3w2 so/sx, Naruto ENFP 3w2 so/sx and Channel Oberlin (Scream Queens) ESTJ 3w4 so/sx.

Sexual (sx)- The sexual 3 will be a more difficult to spot than a social 3. Instead of focusing on external prestige they will focus on internpersonal prestige. They will be looking to be the best companionship of any kind whether its a best friend, parent or partner it's for them to decide. They will be more on the ambiverted side of thing socially. They can be confused for 2 (due to their need to attract others), 7 (can take on a “fun” persona to attract) or 8 (Dominant and seductive in their embrace for others approval). Can be less emotional than the other 3s.

EX-Amy Dunne (Gone Girl) INFJ 3w2 sx/so, Lestat De Lioncourt (IWTV) ESTP 3w2 sx/so and Sansa Stark (Game of Thrones) ESFJ 3w2 sx/so.

Self Preservation (sp) - the self preservation 3 is this types counter type. They will deny and hide their vanity through hard work. They dont “need” the external validation that the other subtypes need but rather get it through their work. Unlike the other two subtypes this one will be more on the introverted side socially. Wanting to be seen as a good role model makes them look like 1s and 6s. They will often be workaholics who focus on being great at their job.

EX- Evelyn Wang (Everything Everywhere all at Once) ESTJ 3w4 sp/so, Princess Carolyn (Bo Jack Horseman) ENTJ 3w2 sp/sx and Spencer Hastings (Pretty Little Liars) ENTJ 3w4 sp/sx

Movements (Positive and Negative)

Movements to 6

Positive- Becomes more emotionally intone with others and starts focusing on creating community and good company. No longer focused on the self gain and learns to value emotional vulnerability.

Negative-Drowned in fear and anxiety becoming hyper dependent on others and becomes passive to decision making.

Movements to 9

Positive-Learns to slow down in life and take things without having to speed through them (Go through things instead over them). They no longer have a hyper fixation on their self image.

Negative- Becomes numb and uninterested with life and detached from any emotional self. They can either become lazy and fall asleep to existence or take a more active role and become ruthless and detached of their environment.

Beavis and Butt-Head MBTI Part II:

Beavis: ESTP

This one may cause controversy as his Personality database profile has voted him as ISFP for some reason, which is a prime example of the mistake of typing based on letters rather than functions. Yes, at first glance he does seem introverted due to not speaking much in earlier seasons and playing second fiddle to Butt-Head. And many would mistake him as a feeler (huh huh) due to being friendlier than Butt-Head, as well as not being known for ‘thinking’.

Se Dom: Beavis’s whole life purpose seems to be in pursuit of sensory experiences. Whether its fire starting, breaking things, or spanking his monkey heh heh. While Butt-Head has the patience to scheme a way to achieve sensory pleasures (scoring, money) as a Se aux, Beavis wants it NOW. Butt-Head likes to talk about chicks and scoring, but Beavis is the first to take off his pants when the opportunity arises (heh heh). His Se also gets him in trouble since he is so present focused that he never remembers his lessons and failures and constantly repeats them, like when he got stuck in a pipe moments after Butt-Head was freed.

Ti Aux: Despite his empty-headedness, Beavis does occasionally use his introverted thinking, especially in the newer episodes where he talks more. When he doesn’t understand something, he will try to figure it out either by using his own twisted logic or usually just asking the all-knowing Butt-Head. I think one of the best examples of his Ti aux is in one of the Jersey Shore segments in the 2011 series, when he tries to figure out what differentiates a ‘juicehead’ from a ‘guido’ from a ‘gorilla’.

Fe tert: As his extroverted feeling is higher in his function stack than Butt-Head’s, Beavis is a lot more emotionally expressive and friendly than him, often taking the time to make polite conversation with strangers that Butt-Head ignores. However his Fe also makes him a follower by nature. It is confusing how people think he is a Fi user when he clearly has no convictions of his own and will go along with whoever he is friends with at the time, as seen in the Christmas special where he is friends with Stewart and is helping him out at the soup kitchen.

Ni inferior: Beavis has no ability to see beyond his present desires and his current predicament. His infamous “We’re never gonna score!” rants are a prime example of this. Whenever he strikes out, instead of shrugging and trying again like Butt-Head, he ends up spiraling into a meltdown, believing he will literally never score despite being only 15 and having the rest of his life ahead of him.

Healthy/Unhealthy ESTP

1. Suki

- Her use of her SeFe is highly notable and uses the external environment to deal with problems in quick efficient ways. Unlike Sokka who gets stuck in his TeNe she is always able to figure things out quickly getting the best results for everyone.

2. Merida

- At the start of the film we see her neglect her Fe a bit preferring to stick to her SeTi however as the movie goes on we see her develop her Fe.

3.Puss in Boots

-His SeFe started very strong in the film the last wish. We notice how he craves external validation constantly and how he feeds off his SeFe and how he completely neglects himself by allowing himself to develop it fully. At the end of the film he we see him truly allowing himself to use his Fe.

4.Han Solo

-At the start of the saga he denies any use of his Fe and would only use it to get his way. As the series goes on we see him develop his fe. In the sequel trilogy we see a more mature Han who struggled with his Fe allot.

5.Jennifer Check

- Unhealthy use of SeFe using it to play off others emotional state. Learning to read their emotional state and using it for her benefit. Becoming crueler than she was once was. Only using Needy when it benefited her.
