What if omega can bond too. Not in a physical way the same way they would with alpha, but some end up bonding with each other and they can feel reassured and soothed with each other (it does help when they also have the same alpha).

Now, what if Ω!xue yang and Ω!song lan end up with a bond too, despite everyone's expectation. You couldn't find two more opposite people on this earth, yet here they are, bonded and still looking ready to kill each other.

of course, not many people know it (tho α!xxc is very aware of it) and they sometimes try to coax one of them to go against the other. Of course, this never finishes well for anyone suggesting this because /how dare they/ suggest they would betray the other?

I'd see it like they accidentally create a bond between each other? and their first reaction to that is "OH hell no!!", but despite denying everything, they still go pretty well with one another anyway and refuse to let anything happen to the other (even when it is accidentally caused by xxc).

sl is probably the first one to just accept it and try to take care of xy in his own way. xy is more than averse to people being kind, so sl has to find alternative ways (xxc is impressed at how well he can deal with xy when he himself fail to do so sometimes).

neither of them is what you would expect an omega to look like. sl is tall and muscular, not very emotional nor soft, he is barely affected by alpha pheromone and /will/ kick your ass if you dare treat him lesser.

xy on the other side is a chaotic gremlin who will murder you (and don't take his threats lightly, hey are promise). He doesn't act like a meek omega and you can be sure he ain't submitting to anyone. growing up on the street and being hated by everyone make him wary of everyone, and if anyone tries to make him submit he'll just bite harder.

and this was something he never had any problem with ever before. "Ah, no one would want of me anyway, why act like a proper omega?".

but now? now he has xxc and sometimes he is struck with panic. because what if xxc and sl think he's not a good enough omega? What if he's just too much to deal with when he refuses affection sometimes? What will he do if xxc leaves him? He's fucking bonded to him now?!

and then he spirals down into doubt, making him worst than usual.

xxc can never pull him out of those doubts even when he tries to be as reassuring as he can be, it somehow makes xy more on edge.

sl ended up learning how to deal with him, trying to soothe him first as he talks softly about how they are not going to leave him, he is stuck with xxc and sl now, if xy isn't a good enough omega, then sl cannot be either.

It always takes time, but xy eventually calm down and those are the very rare moment where he willingly let sl cuddle him and let him gently bath in the reassuring scent of the other omega as (xxc always leave them to this more intimate time, knowing it wouldn't help to intervene).

I just want sl and xy to be really close to each other in a weird way, where everyone seems to think they hate each other, but in reality, they are still very important to each other and they more than once /panicked/ when the other one suddenly disappeared or got heavily injured.

Since the numbers post yesterday we've had signups for nearly 60 new auctions, bringing the current total to 779. That beats the number of signups for 2016/7, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, and puts us withing spitting distance of our record last year of 819. Can we do it? Will we do it? It's August 21, which means: Happy Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day! If you are a writer of fanfic, please know just how appreciated you are!! Fandom would be such a different space without your creativity and labors of love. 💜

In celebration of this most glorious holiday, @renegadepublishing ran an event where we bind copies of fics to gift to their authors, and I had the joy of binding The Tranquility of Water for @noppoh! It's a truly fantastic post-canon story and I love the exploration into the effects of the main story on its characters after the fact. (This is a story I love so much that I wrote up a page and a half crash course on The Untamed so I can try to force my sibling into reading it as well. Take that as you will)

The walls of the Hanshi creep in on him and so Lan Xichen leaves. He leaves Cloud Recesses and his seclusion, stealing away in the night with no-one the wiser that he even left. His feet bring him to Lotus Pier where a surprisingly kind Jiang Cheng seems determined to help him heal.

With a title like "Tranquility of Water" and the story largely taking place at Lotus Pier, I may have been a little heavy handed with the lotus imagery throughout the book, but it felt very fitting! The lotus on the cover was a last minute addition, but one that turned out so lovely. Just, you know, to tie everything together lotus-wise. (Another one of my favorite design details in the typeset is that both title fonts from the chapter headers and title page get repeated within the text of the story as the main characters handwriting fonts!)

I started the physical binding process of my copy while at the Renegade Retreat in April (and decided the week before that I wanted to change my body font... can you say formatting speedrun?) and up until that point I hadn't actually figured out what the cover and endpages were going to look like. Special thanks to everyone who contributed pieces to this binding (and who moral-supported me along the way -- my copy holds so many fun memories now) because it LITERALLY would not look like this without you all. I really love the way the color transitions worked out, with a predominantly blue/green case, fading into green, into pink, into the title page, and then transitioning back out at the end of the book.

And these endbands!! Friends, that is SILK embroidery floss that a friend brought to the retreat especially so I could experience the decadence of silk endbands. I will never be the same. (They're so smooth... so shiny... so slippery to work with, but SO WORTH IT)

Hi! I have a question, what was Jiang Cheng's cultivation level before the core transfer and what was his cultivation level after the transfer?

Hi there anon!

This is difficult because MXTX doesn't really go into detail as to how her cultivation levels work. It seems that once a core is formed it's very much considered a done deal for cultivator ability and reputation regarding core strength.

My point being, that Jiang Cheng in his own right was talented above normal mortal achievement to have formed a core as well when he was young. Usually for cultivation lore it's supposed to be very high fantasy and takes at least one hundred years to break through from Qi Condensation to the Foundation Stage (the refinement of Qi strength above a normal mortal).

Then what usually follows (now this starts to how many "levels" you choose to pack in to achieve heavenly achievement), is:

Core Formation: The flow of Qi is solidified in the body. Further strength is now available to the cultivator and it means the dao path has been refined, whatever that may be, and dependent on plot this can mean longevity can be achieved at this point in some capacity and cultivators are even able to choose how to look in age.

Nascent Soul: The Cultivator is able to essentially fail safe their soul and in the case of death of the physical body the soul is still able to cultivate itself to once more create a physical form (give it hundreds of years though).

Worldly/Earth Immortal: The Cultivator can't be harmed or killed by normal mortal means and are difficult to kill usually impervious to mortal illnesses at this point but now in danger of Qi deviations causing de-ascension to Core Formation again by Heavenly Tribulations (This is most definitely not a thing within Mo Dao Zu Shi) and in most high cultivation plots THIS is where The Cultivator can even start to dare to think entering a Cultivation Sect as a member and are once more a small time fish jumping from your elite pond where you became king into the ocean of many other like you once again.

Sky Immortal: The Cultivator has fully defined their own Dao, the body can regenerate itself from any physical wounds. Get the whole fancy concept of personal soul realm now and access to others as well for a short period of time.

Heavenly Immortal (The Cultivator has ascended in ability to be one of the elite and are essentially a god in abilities). Congrats you're a bad ass now and can fuck with even Primordial existences.

These "levels" consist of Nine Heavenly Tribulations each within the designated sphere where the Cultivator falls within ability. With these definitions listed we can now see how MXTX shook these all together and squashed together general lore all into the Core Formation Level for all our on page cultivators. So, in essence all are on the same level, of Core Formation only still. Jiang Cheng is the little fish in the pond that is in the ocean with all other fish as well as the others!

If one has truly achieved full true immortality remains to be seen by anyone in plot as longevity does not equal immortality if we are working by traditional cultivation methods and achievements.

All this to say, that Jiang Cheng is not an untalented hack whatsoever and is very capable in the low level cultivator setting we are given, and is doing well either way, old core, or Wei Wuxian's core, as it's only considered a power generator in itself for an extra boost for humans. Cores are like batteries, interchangeable and doesn't really care what or where it is as they are not sentient. It is the person that chooses to push the limits of their dao to break through ascensions for that core power. The core does not make the person, it is the person that makes the core.

He killed his enemy, his brother, his sworn brother, his father, his son, his wife&sister, and was killed by the last sworn brother he had. He was a walking tragedy that decided to go evil. He spends the whole plot vibrating out of his skin and trying to ignore the little voice in his head asking him "dont you want to go apeshit". Best antagonist ever, he deserves everything thet's happened to him in the end but also none of it. A victim and a villain. Tries hard to make something of himself, but falls down when his paper castles are uncovered. Meng yao we love you. Rip"

Day 7 - I lost my shit when I saw that there was going to be a Mo Dao Zu Shi collab café. I sat up until about 2am trying to figure out how to make an account, use a VPN etc etc.... However obviously by this post you can see I was indeed successful and here we are!

The day started MUCH LESS stressful than the day before. Again this was at a Sweets Paradise so at least this time we didn't have the added stress of HOW DOES IT WORK. We made a plan of what we wanted and what we were going to do before we got in.

We headed there fairly early so we weren't running around like the day before, this one was located in Shinjuku. We found it super easy and had a look in the Bic Camera a few doors down to kill some time and then headed up.

We got in a little early and took our table. It was quite dark in there and it was located underground on the basement floor. There of course was lots of MDZS décor around where we were sitting. Matt didn't want anything on the menu so ordered a main for me and I ordered a dessert too for myself and we each got a drink. He then helped himself to the buffet which he enjoyed.

While waiting for the food I went to the shop and got some limited edition bits including a really cool acrylic stand pictured above.

My food came out and I had a Wei Wuxian spicy curry which although was cold it was tasty and had a kick to it. I then had Lan Wangji's dessert which was super tasty, it had wangxian bunnies made out of ice cream and the little house where they stole the chicken and THE BATH TUB SCENE ahhh it was so freaking cute.

I really enjoyed this café, and I loved that they had the actual suits for Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji on display too. They were beautiful.

Afterwards, I had plans to go to Harajuku and walk to Shibuya and do some shopping for the day. Unfortunately I miss judged how insanely busy it would be, and to be honest it was way too much. We did walk through Harajuku and I went to my fav anime shop there. But it was too much so we decided to leave quickly. And then we walked to Shibuya and went to the Donki, Animate and Mandarake there. It was just so busy and crazy as it was a Sunday, after this trip I would 100% not try any shopping at the weekend, it is honestly unbearable.

We manged to get a table quite quickly Ichiran and finally had a big bowl of ramen, where I ate 3 eggs cause I bloody love eggs. It was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed every bite. It ended up being fairly late when we headed back to Akihabara. So what is your media obsession du jour? :)

OMG. No one has ever actually asked me this before, and that's been the tag on my blog for years.

Okay, so the Big answer to that question is probably Mo Dao Zu Shi (MDZS) AKA The Untamed. That's been my primary fixation for like, 2 years now. Look at either of those tagged on my blog and you will find ENTIRELY too many posts reblogged. It's a chinese "boy love" xianxia (like, magic swords/spirit fighting) story that you can consume as a book, any of three TV shows (animated, aniamted chibi shorts, live action on netflix), a comic, or a radio drama.

It's a beautiful story about war and politics and love and loss and grief and family and Doing What's Right and power and corruption all wrapped up in magic around my FAVORITE couple. Seriously if you love mutual pining and unwavering devotion and angst and sacrifice and miscommunication and a love that makes two people the best versions of themselves, you should give it a try. And if you like kinky sex you should give the book or its fanfic a try. The show's the most accessible. Give it a couple episodes though. It infamously leaves the first impression of "wow this is trash why are y'all so obsessed with this" until it hooks you and never lets go. Overall plot is 1/3 love story, 1/3 magic murder mystery, and 1/3 flashbacks of all the politics and tragedy and magic that got them to this place.

The smaller answer that's more accurate to the 'Du Jour' would be Brennan Lee Mulligan and friend's Dungeons and Dragons games. Just finished Exandria Unlimited: Calamity (All four episodes are on youtube for free. It's short but packs a punch as some of the best Dnd I've ever seen) and am going to start Dimension 20's A Court of Fey and Flowers this weekend!
