#mortal kombat #mortal kombat 1 #sub zero #bi han #kuai liang #mk tundra #this is an edit #i finally get to say my favorite phrase ever #the tattoo removal surgery was a success #ok so tag edit after posting #the mk wiki says that oniro and Lin Kuei Grandmaster from mythologies are different #however in my heart that is his name #also for a while the wiki seemed to have incorrectly identified him as oniro? instead of the guy from the cartoon. so that was in my brain #but i didn't double check before posting this lol #also when researching it rn it seems a lot of people have made this mistake too #where did it originate.......#if anyone has info on this let me know #but with this edit i wanted to specify a name to emphasize that this ISNT the same universe as mk1 #the grandmaster is not THEIR father #he didnt adopt smoke either etc all he potentially did was kidnap his sons #at least that was the case in the og timeline #the grandmaster is instead sektors father as is established in mk9 #SECOND EDIT i think its just because they were both the lin kuei grandmasters but oniros the only one that had a name #mystery solved um maybe #ok bye thank you

Like:

Agamemnon: Hey, Menelaus. Where is Odysseus? Cannot find him anywhere

Menalaus: Probably by the ships. It was resupply day today.

Agamemnon: But that was hours ago. What on earth is he doing?

Menelaus: Yeah you are probably right let's go and check it out

*They find Odysseus on the beach sitting on a rock while a Scythian probably covered in tattoos of his people is tattooing his upper arm*

Agamemnon: Odysseus, what in the gods' names are you doing?

Odysseus: Oh, can't you see? I am getting a tattoo from this man. He is very good actually.

Agamemnon: Seriously?! We are at war and this is a military camp!

Odysseus: Don't worry, he's cool. I checked.

Menelaus: But weren't you wounded a couple of days ago? Surely shouldn't you be taking it easy? I know they call you "equal to gods" but you ain't immortal

Odysseus: No worries. I am accustomed to pain. This is nothing.

Agamemnon: Even so! That is not a king's behavior. What is wrong with you?!

Odysseus: Why not? Besides look!

*shows his half-done olive branch tattoo*

Odysseus: Olive for my homeland, flowers for my wife and the bittersweet fruit is my dear Telemachus. I want my family with me. I might die tomorrow and my body will not be buried to my land. I want my family with me to the funeral pyre...

Menelaus: *sniffing loudly* You know, brother, you have to admit that is the most fucking adorable thing ever!

Agamemnon: Humph! Whatever! *turns around to hide a manly tear*

A little something inspired by Calliope’s adventures in Ironwood! Here she’s standing with Angrboda and one of the Giants I pulled from the myths: Eggdér, wolf-herder of the Jötnar.

In the Völuspá, Eggþér (or Egðir, which I find more visually pleasing loll) is a herder of the giantess in Ironwood, which is most likely a reference to Angrboda. He raises the kinfolk of Fenrir, and joyfully plays his harp while the red rooster Fjalarr crows to herald the onset of Ragnarök. Given that he’s mentioned with Angrboda, I just had to make him one of the returned Giants in my fic!

Since he’s a herder, I imagine all those wolves who led Atreus to Angrboda were actually Eggdér’s, but he bid them to watch over her if he was ever absent. He also plays a harp, so I gave him an affinity with music, and a possible teacher for Calliope given her own goddess-y musical abilities. As for his dynamic with her (and with Atreus), that’ll be revealed more in the story! XDD

Oh, and I should probably mention that Kratos and Sindri won’t be the only father/uncle/guardian figures in Calliope’s life lmaoo

I deciced to get the same tattoo as Astreus from God of War. I absolutely adored gow 4, but gow Ragnarök made me love this character even more. One of the best games I’ve ever played.
