Throughout the beginning of this arranged marriage both minseo and namjoon weren’t entirely interested. Doing their own thing, barely speaking to one another. But they had both agreed to complete their duties as one, so they went along with it.

Along the way they both had started to care for each other. Minseo took good care of namjoon, as a good wife should. Namjoon soon realized how much he depended on her. She made sure he was well fed, she’d ask about his day, she’d accompany him to all his important events, she made him happy.

He found himself looking forward to coming home to her each day. They started sleeping in the same bed, enjoying each other’s warmth. Now Almost two years into this marriage, they couldn’t be happier.

“Good morning, love” namjoon says kissing her neck as she had just woken up. Both still bare from the night before

“Good morning, dear” she says smiling, snuggling closer to him

Not soon after they heard a knock on his door “sir, im sorry to interrupt but we have a meeting starting soon.” Namjoon sighed getting out of bed. Their mornings usually always were the same.

“I have to go, I’ll be back for dinner.” He kisses his wife goodbye before putting on some clothes, leaving the room

Minseo spends her day accompanying namjoons mother. She was the one who suggested this arranged marriage. And she was so happy that it has been going well.

Throughout the day they did some shopping for tonight’s supper with the family. Once the time finally came it was a nice evening with everyone. drinking and recalling old memories. Namjoon felt at peace with minseo by his side. He felt proud. He knew he’d do anything for her.

Once supper was over everyone headed back home.

“Your mother kept asking me when we’d be giving her grandchildren” minseo spoke as she got ready for bed

“I said that they’d come when the time is right” minseo now getting into bed next to him

The next morning minseo had woken up to an empty bed. Namjoon had an early meeting. His brother seokjin had been giving him a hard time. They were currently fighting over the land their father once had. Their father had left it to whoever was to be married first. Which was namjoon. But seokjin had found it unfair, he was the eldest son, the land should go to the first born. That’s how’s its always been.

This whole situation has caused a strain on their brotherly relationship. Seokjin was more than angry. He’d do anything for that land. Namjoon tried to compromise, offering other things that he had inherited, but seokjin had his heart set already.

After a long day at work namjoon had finally arrived home, missing dinner but he had eaten at work. Going into his bedroom seeing his wife already in bed catching up on her book.

“Thought I wouldn’t see you today” minseo spoke as she closed her book setting it on her night stand.

Namjoon let out a tired sigh “why is my brother so stubborn”

Minseo felt as though she had lost a part of herself. Namjoon has been the only man she’s ever known. He was a good man. The only one she could trust. And yet she had been wrong.

🌷This is a classic fandom fic for this kind of trope and it’s actually one of the fics I first thought of when I got this ask. You get your stereotype nerd (also labeled as a “loser” by others) and one popular MC who gets the pretty but dumb and shallow image (she’s actually smart though). The dynamic and how these two seemingly mismatched characters, by society’s standards at least, get to develop their relationship is a wonderful process to witness (I guess I should put “slow burn” in the tags too).. As MC discovers more about Namjoon and how much she likes Namjoon, MC goes through this self-awareness and realization too. It’s nice to see her thought process because she is more than the glossy and glittering image people associated her with. Namjoon has this line about how we overthink things when we feel our actions do not align with our beliefs and we just need to be more self-aware about our limits and what we want. Okay I guess this is becoming a full review but if you like to see good character and relationship development between the nerd x popular trope, then this is such a great read =)

🌷This is really more of an OT7 fic to me? It felt like watching an American sitcom with this group of virgin guys as the lead characters and how they lost their v-card. In this episode, we focus on Namjoon as the only remaining virgin in the RMCC. It’s such a fun read to see how the boys draw up a “battle plan” for Namjoon. They kept putting these strategies that don’t seem to work only for them to realize that Namjoon just needs to be his nerdy self to get the girl. OC is kind of nerdy too so it was cute to see their few interactions (the boys’ reactions are making it so comedic tbh). The other members get a spin-off and we reunite with the gang later at Namjoon’s wedding to OC in The Monogamy Monologues (it’s a Jungkook story though)

🌷I realize I have this whole library of Christmas fics because I love the season but I don’t have one for New Year fics. (if you like smart Namjoon, try author’s hogwarts Namjoon Tutor too. It’s more of E2L and some rivalry that led to snowball fights lol. Maybe not as nerdy as Snow Globe’s Namjoon 🥺 but I love a smart joon e2l fic)

BTS Halloween Fic Recs

In honour of spooky season, here are some fanfic recommendations that I think fit the mood or theme of the season! What that means to me really is just some supernatural fics that I've enjoyed a lot.
