LEGO Phantom of the Opera Mezuzah Cases!

Look what I made! Lego character mezuzah cases have been around for a few years (I have a Wonder Woman one), but I wanted to find a way to combine my Jewish pride and observance with my passion for Phantom (and not just in my longfic, All Vows which has major Jewish themes).

The Lego face even has a deformity, yellow eyes, and I also found a little set of tails.

Danny, on the run from the GIW decides to take shelter in Gotham because if the GIW have any sense they'd never set foot in there.

Even if Batman and the JL agree with thier opinion on ecto entities (as evidenced by their lack of speaking out against the anti-ecto acts) Batman was notoriously territorial and would have issue with a wildly incompetent government organization throwing missiles around his city all willy-nilly.

With that being said it was probably best for Danny to wear a disguise. Sure, they didn't know Fenton and Phantom were the same person yet but Danny Fenton suddenly turning up in Gotham after going missing in Amity is certainly going to raise some eyebrows regardless of the necklace he had that jammed his ecto-signature and made him untrackable.

Danny started off by going blond. Its something he's always wanted to do and now with ghostly shape-shifting powers he doesn't even have to worry about frying his hair or dying his eyebrows to match. After that all he needed to do was part his hair down the middle, add a lip ring or two and maybe a bit of make up.

Danny stared at himself in the mirror. He looked like a completely different person.

A completely different and very attractive person. He looked good. The newly blond man threw on a green jacket and went out to explore the town. He did not expect to literally bump into the Tim Drake. The Wayne adoptee just stood there mouth opening and closing comically. Did he offend him? Crap. He had promised Jazz he would stay off of the radar of the Waynes and the bats specifically and here he was angering one of them.

Danny decided to book it before it became a scene, ignoring the lovestruck Tim's crys for him to wait.

Back at his apartment Danny quickly changed his look to red hair tied back into a two inch low ponytail, green eyes and freckles that unbeknownst to anyone else was made up from the lesser known constellations.

The coffee at this Cafe smelled amazing! Too bad Danny wouldn't get to try it because the next this he knew freaking Red Hood was behind him asking to talk. Our favorite ghost boy wouldn't be embarrassed to admit he let out a small squeek before bolting out the door yelling, "I'm not even a criminal!"

It took Jason a few seconds to process that the guy he had tried to flirt with ran away in terror. Crap.

Day three and four were blissfully Wayne and bat free, though he did find out that Tim Drake and Red Hood were looking for his two false identities. Joy.

Day five he met the stabby Robin who very valiantly beat up two people who had been following him. Danny didn't even notice he was being followed and thanked the bird for saving him. Danny, who was shape-shifted into a very pretty girl at the moment, offered to buy him something to eat as a thank you. "Danielle" insisted and Robin allowed it. Danielle never noticed the slight pink on Damians cheeks as they went over to one of Damians favorite restaurants.

Day seven he had went out as blondie and got confronted by some girl named Barbara. She was nice and managed to convince him to come to a Cafe with her. He told her his name was David and he ran away from his parents with the help of one of his friends family members and that he was Jewish, which was true...except for the David part. He learned that if you wanna keep your story straight keeping to almost truths was your best bet. She in turn told him about Tim and how he's a friend of hers-uh oh- and that he's been looking all over for him.

Danny-David- tells her he's sorry but he didn't mean to offend Tim and doesn't want any trouble before laying down enough money to cover his half of the bill and the tip and booking it out of there

This repeats with most of the family trying to flirt with him or adopt him into the family when he's out as Danny.

Bruce Wayne approached Danny when he was waiting to board an elevator, "Hel-" was all the billionaire could get out before Danny cut him off "Hell no." And then he just got in the elevator and pressed the close doors button and was gone again.

I recently got so fed up with the nonstop antisemitism in my comments section of my fics that I quit writing entirely. All the fics on that account are canceled. Discontinued. We're done. And it's been so, so good for my mental health. I feel like I can breathe again. I don't have to dread writing, I can write something and just keep it to myself and never get yet another snide remark about """the Jews""" or "the Hebrews", as one total weirdo referred to us. No one informing me they Googled it and actually I'm wrong about [insert thing here]. No more Holocaust denial comments from the Danny Phantom fandom. Just me, writing. Making things I like. And then then I'm done, I don't have to brace for arguments later.

I genuinely do not remember why I ever posted fic for other people to read but I really do envy goyim sometimes. It must be nice to write things and not get referred to as Hebrews in the past tense like you're extinct or have Holocaust deniers pop up yelling at you for mentioning WWII. I feel like fandom would be fun if I weren't Jewish, or if I never mentioned Jewish people in my stories. But I am and I'm tired of having to edit people who are like me out of stories in order to not get shit on. And the sheer volume of antisemites in the End OTW Racism crowd shows me that there's no chance of things improving any time soon. Fandom is for certain kinds of people and I am not the kind of person it's meant for.

Quick Sally and Nick headcannon!

As life basically gave poor dear phantom the middle finger and she cannot draw right now due to a minor wrist injury (probably a sprained wrist) here are some Nick and one of his maternal mother figures for a quick Christmas headcannons!

Dora doesn't celebrate Christmas, but she sends him gifts during Hanukkah and he tries to celebrate with the Ruckuses as much as he can as both tend to be pretty busy. (They come from a Jewish family but are not believers themselves)

So here are some quick Christmasy headcannons with Nick and Salome!

Salome and her triplets always travel up North to visit Daisy and Nick usually stay with them as Mortimer is helping everyone with the holidays, and has a tradition of staying with Riley for Hanukkah during Christmas. Sal dresses Nick in a nice hand-knitted sweater by her and serves him hot cocoa.

Nick and Salome sing carols duets alongside with Daisy and her three brothers during some shows at the theater. She even got him a matching suit and bow-tie as he's basically the Danger's adopted kid.

Nick dances with Salome during the Christmas eves parties and stays at his or daisy's house (it depends on what both agree.) Sally does kiss him good night.

When Salome discovered that Nick never knew what a proper Christmas was upon meeting him. She decided to make sure he had the best first Christmas ever. That's exactly when Nick realized that he found a mother figure in Salome after she knitted him a cat sweater and baked him a pie.

Chaos Dragon - works are split between (sometimes mature) Danny/Sam and some of the hardest hitting tragedies I've read in the phandom

Cordria (ao3) - The Place To Begin!!! Several hundred fics once you factor in the oneshot collections, covering literally every genre under the sun and angst that will change you forever

Danny Phantom SG-1 - the author who taught me that fanfiction was designed to be a vessel for angst, will bash you over the head with your own feelings

HaiJu (ao3) - one of the most polished and highly recommended authors in the phandom for a very very good reason

Laora (ao3) - one of my favorite authors of all time, and creator of Empty Promises (ao3) aka the angstiest fic in the phandom

Nylah - fantastically atmospheric angst that I literally have not been able to stop thinking about since I first read them

Holocaust deniers, people who get mad at "forced diversity" (read: any non-white OC, focusing on non-white characters, mentioning any religion other than Christianity, etc.) and anti-queer people are a plague in the comments of Danny Phantom fics on FFN. The vast majority of the DP fandom uses FFN and doesn't want to move over to AO3, basically because there's so much fanfic for it there, so many collections of fics, etc. that it's what everyone's familiar with and has the most content.

I'm really torn because I want readers, obviously - I like the story I'm writing and I want other people to get to read it and enjoy it - but as a Jewish Arab I am a bit hesitant to walk into a place where I know some bullshit is going to ensue. Do you have any advice? Any ways I could possibly minimize the amount of bad comments I get? I know someone who wrote more queer ficlets every time she got a hateful comment on her queer content in the fandom and that did a lot to get people to stop, especially when she mentioned them in the summaries and author's notes as the inspiration that keeps her writing. And I love that, but I can't always get inspired, sit down and hammer out one-shots on the spot like she can.

I know this fandom is like this because the creator is the kind of conservative other conservatives cringe at (especially ever since his church tried to raise a kid from the dead). I know some of this is inevitable in fanfic, since nobody only gets purely positive comments. But if there's something I can do to minimize the amount of garbage I get, I would like to. And I know you've been in fandom much longer than I have (I mean I'm 18 so most people have but you know what I mean) so I thought maybe you might have some tips.

Sorry for the long, rambly comment. I know you get a lot of asks and normally I don't bother other people about my concerns. Learning to manage my own concerns and worries is part of growing up. But I think asking other people for insight is good too, sometimes.

(P.S. you've gotten me into knitting and it's really fun. My mom always said I was too old to learn but you're an adult and you got into it so that made me decide to take the plunge and I'm really happy I did.)

Your mom is silly! People get into crafts at all ages!

I think for the trolls on FFN, the general culture there respects the same kind of aggressive douchebaggery they dish out. If you appear totally unbothered and fire back at them, they see it as strength. If you're too nice or too upset, they smell blood in the water. A "LOLOLOL Fuck you too!" attitude will go a long way.

Whether it's worth dealing with them is another story.
