It was a special type of season for werewolves. Mating season. But of course for werewolves there was a type of courtship ritual that had to be done.

Despite being Wanda's mate, you were not aware of this at all. You were walking down the halls of the Avengers compound when you felt a certain set of eyes on you. Thinking fast, you turned around and saw Wanda staring at you intently from the other end of the hall. Her gaze, it seemed unearthly, etheral, and driven madly by a mixture of love and lust.

"Come on" Pietro grabs you suddenly and hauls you into his room.

"Piet what's going on?" you found yourself questioning. His own tail was swishing mischievously.

"Wanda never told about this season?"

"Season?"

"Mating season." he snickers, "and my sestra has it terrible for you"

You found yourself blushing red as a beet. "How exactly is this supposed to work?"

"She is hunting for you right now. I just saved you" Pietro grabs his own cologne from his nightstand.

"H-hunting? What happens if she catches me?"

"Unclear." He shrugs his shoulders. "But if my sestra wants you this bad...you're gonna have to make her work for it."

He splashes his cologne all over you. "What the-?!"

"I'm masking your scent. Now all you need to do is-"

There's a scratching at his door, "Bratok! Release my detka to me NOW!!" Wanda's voice ends with a growl.

"Run!" he snickers, opening his window to you. "Go! Go! Go!!"

You jump out the window and break into a mad dash. A text rings on your phone from Pietro. Hide from her until sundown. Good luck.

Wanda breaks into Pietro's room. Her eyes were locked with lustful intent, a quick scan of the room revealed that you were not there.

"Where is my detka?!" she growls at her werewolf brother.

"You know how the rituals work" Pietro giggles, "I was giving your detka a chance."

"But I want my detka" little wolf whines escape her lips.

"Its just a game of hide and seek" Pietro says, "if you win, your detka is your slave. If your detka wins, well you know."

"I will find my detka first!" Wanda sniffs the air and locates your old scent, the window. Wanda pushes open the window and jumps out.

Wanda searched the grounds, every nook and cranny. She searched your cabin, the scents there were so confusing to her nostrils. She searched the kitchen. The living room. Stark's work station.

"Your little chew toy isn't here, Fifi" Tony laughs as Wanda simply growls. She continues her search.

Wanda searched the training room. Natasha could only roll her eyes at Wanda's desperate search.

It is dusk now. Wanda was tired and worn out. She collapses by the Compound's fountain. She looks around one last time, her tail slumping in defeat.

"I just want my detka" she bemoans, little tears streaming down her face. She didn't want you to be her slave, she just wanted you to be hers and only hers.

In her own grief, what Wanda failed to notice was you sneaking up behind her. You jump and wrap your arms around her, hugging her tightly.

"Gotcha!" you shout. Wanda jumps a little before relaxing into your arms.

"Detka!" she begins to laugh.

"Looks like I caught you first" you nuzzle her.

"You did." Wanda snuggles into your embrace, "so what are you gonna do with me?"

"I'm gonna treat you to a nice dinner and we'll go from there" you give her a gentle shake.

"Can we have cuddles too?"

"Always" you pick her up bridal style and carry her back to the compound. Pietro gives you an approving thumbs up.

Tis the Season to be Jolly my Nuggets!

It is once again that time of year to send in your favorite actors, soloists, and group members for the 'Tis the Season 2023 Event. Originally, I was going to have the same rules as the previous two events, but with the addition of KDrama / KMovie characters to my masterlist I'm changing a few things. Every week of the event I will write for one artist/character/actor/soloist/group member of my choice or that I haven't written for before (this is to get some variety in these events since it does feel like I tend to write for the same people every time). These will be listed on the calendar below with those respective prompts. Seven (7) requests for actors and group members will be accepted (meaning for each category). Six (6) requests for soloists and drama/movie characters will be accepted (for each category). Like before, no repeats and only one celeb per prompt unless the prompt directly calls for it. I also ask that when requesting for soloists to please, please, request intially for the soloists listed on my masterlist (or suggest new ones for a quick drabble. i'm very open and did it for the 3 year event). I will take requests for group members who also promote as soloists later on in the requesting period when I feel like enough time has passed to accept them. (like a stage before diabetes), so no sweet 🥹🥹🥹 and my stomach has been upset the past few weeks so I can't enjoy spicy anymore (though I still eat as far as garlic, onion, and such. So, I have to say savoury because there are a lot more options in this category.

Single Pringle, and I'm actually okay with that now (because I almost got in a relationship recently and thank Jan I didn't because he had a lot of issues that he was projecting on me).

Let's make Moon Girl's inclusion to the show of the year list legit.

First, let's make this official. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is a must watch series. It is so fun, the characters are likable, the Glow Up of the Beyonder, the music is great, and that last episode setting up next season is a real nail-biter. I hope it gets that second season and does well to continue from there. It was not originally planned to be in One Shot because I was planning to watch and love the series as soon as I saw the preview for the opening theme. But then Superman showed up and made it seem like the #1 spot in the end of the year review will be a no brainer. So I’m putting in Moon Girl so there could be competition. And maybe I jumped the gun thanks to this...

For those who don't know, Tiny Toons Adventures is a series about a young set of toons going to Acme Looniversity to learn to become toons. Thing is, you don't really see that story. The first episode focused on the creation of the series. Episodes have them going to school being a plot of a short or the surrounding segments. But ultimately it is a bunch of shorts with Looney Tunes expies. Fifi does Pepe's bit but with boys instead of girls. Plucky does stuff Daffy would do. And for some reason Elmyra got the most screen time despite being an antagonist. She also got a pilot episode for a spinoff series, a full crossover with the Warner Siblings, and said spinoff series with Pinky and the Brain.

Tiny Toons Looniversity is a complete reboot. While they share similar traits, it is its own thing. For starters, there are five main characters to the originals' "it depends on the shorts": Buster and Babs Bunny (yes relation), Sweetie T. Bird, Hamton J. Pig and Plucky Duck. Plucky is the most similar to his original, as he's still an egotistical duck who thinks mostly of himself and at times wanting to make money. But it's a modern egotistical trait. Hamton is the second closest, just remove the cleaning obsession and crank up the anxiety. The other three, they're drastically different.

In the original, Buster and Babs Bunny were not related. So their interactions range from "hummina hummina hummina" to "they're basically siblings". Buster is a Modern Bugs Bunny, which makes him now a Bugs Bunny with 90s mentality for the cool kids. Babs were the best of the two since she got a great gimmick of being an impressionist. And Fields of Honey is my favorite episode. So how does the Reboot treat these two as siblings? Honestly, I really love their interactions. They really do sell a brother/sister vibe and that first episode really sold me on them being siblings but willing to be separate to try new things. Buster is also a great improvement because he gets to be more emotional. Babs doesn't do the impressionist bit, but between her relationship with Buster and her relationship with Sweetie, and even that one time with Plucky really shows she's great as part of any duo.

And Sweetie T. Bird is a HUGE improvement of the original. The original is basically Tweety Bird but louder. Sweetie is a rocker who is ready to cause chaos when needed. She bounces off Babs really well and seeing how fast they became friends really sold me on this series. She's like the perfect foil for the more professional Babs Bunny. She's messy when Babs is clean. She's physical when Babs is more methodical. She enjoys Plucky's Gossip Magazine when Babs saw it as a rival to her newspaper. But they're still friends because there are plenty of things they have in common. Sweetie is also very supportive. She helped Babs try to get a room with her brother even if it means no longer being her roomy. She joins Babs' newspaper. They even enjoy Vintage Clothing after Fifi Showed them off.

As for the rest of the characters, some are basically the same (Dizzy and Max), others have some differences (Fifi no longer being boy crazy), and some very different (Furball talks more in this series than his one voice role in the original). This show also has more appearances from the Looney Tunes cast. Bugs interact more in this than I can recall in the original. Daffy teaches the hardest class, we even got appearances from the Dark Age originals like Merlin and Cool Cat. And while they used Space Jam's version of Lola, they made her Looney in her own way. And with Death Battle having Tom Vs Wile E. on the Tournament of Champions Poll, it gives Wile a new dangerous weapon against his other toons.

Regardless if you like the original or never heard of it, I recommend Tiny Toons Looniversity. I can already tell you it's at the top of the list since I saw all the episodes. And I still need to see the rest of Superman and Fionna and Cake.

Movies I watched this Week - #84

Huell Babineaux X 2:

🍿“Many people are saying” that Better Call Saul is a better show than “Breaking Bad’. I loved BB, which I saw 2-3 times already, and I waited until Saul is done to start watching it. So this week I started bingeing, and in one swoop go, watched the first 4 seasons (40 out of 64 episodes).

Maybe because it’s too much for one seating, I did not find it as compelling as advertised. Jimmy’s arc from a fast-talking conman to a sleazy corner-cutting ‘criminal’ lawyer was uninteresting, and his relationships to his brother Chuck and to his lover Kim Wexler felt flat for me. At his core all he was was a bullshit artist salesman. Walter White, the cancer-stricken chemistry teacher who was looking for a way to pay his medical bills was much more real. But like the name of S3E3, I had already committed significant ‘Sunk Costs’ so I kept on going on.

There were many good moments there, f. ex. the opening scene of “Fifi” (S2 E8) done in a single shot.

I may come back to seasons 5 and 6 soon or later. (Photo Above).

🍿 Comedy for 13-year-olds Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, only because of my crush on Anna Kendrick. But it also had Huell, the TSA agent from ‘We’re The Millers’ and naked Kumail Nanjiani as a tantric masseur with a foot-long ponytail.

The Housemaid (2010), a ‘sexy’ Korean soap opera about a live-in maid who gets impregnated by the very upper-class master of the household. A subtle critique of extreme wealth that doesn’t really work. With Youn Yuh-jung, the grandma from ‘Minari’. 4/10.

“Make America Great Again”: A Night in the Garden is a bone-chilling short documentary from 2017 about the Nazi rally in New York’s Madison Square Garden.

More than 20,000 people attended the proudly-fascist, pro-"Americanism" rally on February 20, 1939. Swastikas, pro-Hitler demagoguery, the savage beating of a protester and defiant anti-Jewish creed in broad daylight. Just like today.

Zelig, Woody Allen’s 1983 masterful mockumentary about a “human chameleon”, an ego-less man who needs to be liked so much, that he transforms his physical appearance to conform with his surroundings. A seamless blending of genuine 1920′s newsreel footage with vintage look love story. Fantastic cinematography by Gordon Willis. With terrific cameos by Susan Sontag, Saul Bellow, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and other intellectuals of the time. Re-watch. 9/10 🍿

Another completely random pick that I never heard of beforehand, and for which I’m happy for: The Girl By The Lake (2007). Starring the always excellent Toni Servillo, and based on a Norwegian crime mystery by Karin Fossum. It’s about a stoic police inspector who is called to investigate the disappearance of a little girl in a small but beautiful Alpine town.

Directorial debut of a Andrea Molaioli, it was the Italian movie awarded with the highest number of David di Donatello (10 out of 15 nominations). Molaioli’s framing and edit of soundtrack was fresh and unusual, and the score which seemed arbitrary, added tremendous meaning to the moody images.

Best discovery of the week.

I also never heard of Jim Abraham’s Jane Austen's Mafia! (1998) before. A light spoof of ‘The Godfather’ (as well as ‘Casino’ and other Scorsese’s gangster sagas), in the exact style of all the other Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker’s slapstick comedies. Lloyd Bridges’s last role in a Leslie Nielsen-type Brando parody. Not 'Airplane!’ level, but with some gags and jokes that work. 4/10.

🍿Sabotage, a 1936 Hitchcock spy story about a woman whose husband is a terrorist. Includes a long, suspenseful plot of a boy carrying a bomb on a public bus and the fact that the innocent boy, Sidney’s brother, dies on the bus explosion together with all the other passengers. Also, she kills her husband and gets away with it. It also includes (and credits) an early Disney Silly Symphony cartoon as part of the story.

🍿“Welcome to Earth..” Her last role in Tim Burton’s bizarre Mars Attack. Also with Tom Jones, Jack Black and Pam Grier. First watch. 3/10. “Ack ack! Ack! Ack ack ack!...”

George Clooney’s political thriller The Ides of March, with a screenplay by Beau Willimon just before he made 'House of cards’. It's similar to other “Election Campaign Race” for The Nomination, ‘The Candidate’ and ‘Primary colors’, etc. (And it’s always the Democratic nomination, right?), and it’s fast, and well-built. Everybody in the whole film whispers all their lines. Just 10 years later, it seems anachronistic. 7/10.

🍿First watch: High-school musical for high-schoolers Grease. Horny teenagers played by 24-years-old Scientologist John Travolta, 30-year-old Olivia Newton-John, and 33-year-old Stockard Channing as Rizzo. 50's fantasy of white nostalgia, also with Sid Caesar and Frankie Avalon. The dancing numbers were great though, especially ‘You're the One That I Want’.

🍿Birth, my second by Jonathan Glazer (after ‘Under the skin’), and co-written by Jean-Claude Carrière. A one trick, inexplicable and nearly-good story about eternal love. Elegant widow Nicole Kidman is convinced that a 10-year-old neighbor boy is her dead husband. It has 2 beautiful scenes: A concert shot (at 26:00) that holds its gaze on her face for 4 minutes, and the final, sad scene on the beach. Lauren Bacall and Ann Heche play small roles. 4/10.

Geri's Game, the first Pixar film to feature a human being as its main character, about an old man who competes with himself in a game of chess. Winner of the 1998 Oscar for Best Short.

Better Call Saul: Season 2 (2016)

Better Call Saul: Season 2 has mild video-glitching effects in its brief title sequence, which follows the first scene of every episode. There are police car strobe lights in bright daylight near the end of Episode 4 (Gloves Off), and at the beginning of Episode 8 (Fifi). At the beginning of Episode 6 (Bali Ha’i), a light flickers very fast in front of a shop at night. In Episode 7 (Inflatable), there are some edits during a montage that rapidly cut between a variety of bright colors. The scene following the opening title of Episode 8 (Fifi) has a blinking neon light in the background. The last scene of Episode 9 (Nailed) has sudden, fast flashes of light during a high-stress moment. This effect is repeated during a scanning scene in Episode 10 (Klick).

The first shot of Episode 1 (Switch) looks straight down while spinning slowly. Handheld, mildly shaking cameras are used in Episode 6 (Bali Ha’i) and Episode 10 (Klick), during quiet but tense sequences. The camera is constantly moving smoothly through a long, continuous shot at the beginning of Episode 8 (Fifi). Episode 10 (Klick) has an extended sequence following someone being transported inside a hospital, most of which has the camera upside-down.

Flashing Lights: 4/10. Motion Sickness: 2/10.

TRIGGER WARNING: Someone makes a brief suicide joke at the end of Episode 2 (Cobbler). A man’s clothing has a small vomit stain in a scene about halfway through Episode 5 (Rebecca). A flashback at the beginning of Episode 10 (Klick) shows someone watching one of their parents die. Shortly after this flashback, there is a very stressful and visceral sequence showing a series of hospital procedures while a patient is in pain and distress.

Hi! I'm new to watching bl, I'm just starting now with eclipse, do you maybe have any rec? Like shows that you really like with good acting and a good plot? (I love misteries/sci-fi/thrillers but I'm open to more lighhearted genres too) I'm asking because recs I found online are too generic and I wanted to see the persective of someone who actually watches shows! 🌼

hi there anon! welcome to the hell that is blblr! hope u can enjoy ur time here and steer clear of dumb discourse most of the time, and the eclipse is honestly a great first show!!!! i personally loved the eclipse from when it was announced in 2021 bc i love khaotung since forever and i was sooo ready for his main character redemption era (u don't wanna know why he needs one tbh), and the plot seemed amazing—and it was! i really hope u can enjoy it as much as i did and go through the rollercoaster of emotions akkayan will take u on, i love them a whole lot<33

as for show recs, ive been out of the loop on everything bl this year bc im a uni student and i work two jobs, i don't really have the time and energy anymore so i might not be able to talk about more recent shows, but there's still a handful of good bls i can rec u!

one of my personal faves is theory of love because 1. i adore gun to the moon and back, he's a phenomenal actor and he did an amazing job in this series; 2. the story is great! friends to lovers with a lot of angst is just MWAH; 3. THE SOUNDTRACKKKK!!!! fake protagonist THE bl ost of all time!; 4. i loooove all the movie references in the show. all that said though, tol does have its fair share of issues (like poorly written female characters) but overall it still is a good show imo!

i dont think the bl sphere has many shows in the genres u mentioned but we have a couple of supernatural plots like he’s coming to me (dude meets this ghost and falls in love with him and the show is super cute and sad at times but if u think too much about it its creepy lmao), until we meet again (hhhh maybe not supernatural but the whole concept is soulmates and red threads of fate and it’s VERY angsty), the untamed (i personally never finished it helppp but its a very good show and it has a lot of ~magic~), the movie the blue hour which is IMMACULATE, its so good, its horror/thriller, it has gun and oab and its GAY ugh its really really good i love it so much AND ITS DIRECTED BY A TRANS WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

other shows that i really enjoy but that are romcoms more than anything (with angst bc i looooove angst): gaya sa pelikula (filipino, probably the best bl of 2020, absolutely incredible), old fashion cupcake (jpn bl about two dudes who work together and deal with growing old, its v v good! established adults!), cherry magic (jpn bl, SO cute and wholesome, dude turns 30 but because he’s still a virgin he gains the power of reading people’s mind. doesnt make much sense but its def worth ur time!), 2gether/still2gether (a classic, a staple, the show that popularized thai bls worldwide. looking back its an ok show, nothing much, but it is very cute if u wanna turn ur brain off), we best love (taiwanese, ONLY SEASON ONE, i love this show so so so much it gave me such a huge brainrot)

now more heavy/sad shows: i told sunset about you (THE artsy bl we all needed, bkpp KINGS, storytelling 11/10, amazing), history3 trapped (one of my personal faves, again established adults god bless, dramatic and dynamic, main couple’s chemistry thru the roof, fifi!!!!), a tale of thousand stars (very angsty but also very beautiful)

the next two aren’t bls but i have to talk about them because they are great and i love themmmm. 3 will be free, deals with class disparity, has strong female leads, trans characters, bi characters, gay characters, polyamory, beautiful cinematography, def should watch! and the gifted/the gifted graduation. not gay bc it barely has any romantic storylines but very interesting concept, v v thriller-y and good acting!!! s2 disappointed but s1 is mwah and my url is from the gifted bc im a clown and pang and wave ARE gay and ARE in love and ARE dating thank u!

ive also heard about ghost host ghost house but haven’t had the time to watch it yet, seems very cute and i think it has some supernatural elements? cant confirm but ill try to watch it next week during my break so maybe ill update u on it later!
