“Sick again?” Poe asked coming into the bathroom in their shared room, kneeling down next to Y/n. He held her hair back out of her way.
“Yeah.” Y/n groaned, she was sick of being sick.
“I’m sorry.” He grimaced, wishing he could do something to help.
Y/n shook her head, he wasn’t to blame for her being sick. But it was nice that he sympathizes for her. “Not your fault.”
Poe sighed watching her get up and wash her mouth and face. Poe had been worried for awhile now, watching Y/n throw up for weeks. “Y/n/n I really think you should go to the medbay.”
“It’s just a stomach bug.” Y/n waved him off.
Poe sighed, he’d been trying to get her to go for a while now and she just keeps refusing. “We got a meeting with your mom.”
“Ugh.” Y/n groaned at having to leave the comfort of their room.
^     ^     ^
“Poe. Y/n.” Leia greeted the young couple as they entered the command bay. Leia instantly noticed how her daughter didn’t look very well.
Y/n lifted her hand at her mom the best she could do to acknowledge at that moment since she had a sudden dizziness come over her for a second. Poe stopped beside her, resting a hand on her back just in case.
“Hey General.” Poe smiled and greeted his mother in law once they made it up onto the platform.
“Mom.” Y/n nodded trying to smile but she still feels a bit sick.
“Still not feeling well?” Leia raised a brow. Even though she was asking she already knew the answer, she is Y/n’s mother after all.
“No she’s not.” Poe answered before Y/n could speak. Which made the woman in question roll her eyes at their behavior.
“You need to go to the medbay.” Leia stated in her stern mom voice she used to use when Y/n was a child.
“Told you.” Poe smirked in a ‘I told you so way.’
“Well I’m making it an order.” Leia smirked as well. Y/n couldn’t refuse a direct order from her general or mother.
“Fine.” Y/n grumbled, annoyed that her mom and husband were ganging up on her.
“I’ll go with you.” Poe smiled happy that she would finally have to go and get checked out now.
“You can’t. I have a mission for you.” Leia spoke up, it was easy for her to notice the conflict on Poe’s face. “You won’t be gone long, it's a quick mission but you leave before lunch.”
Poe nodded, he hated that he wouldn’t be there but he’d be back as soon as possible. Poe tilted his head down to kiss her forehead. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
“Okay, love you.” Y/n smiled at him in understanding. She hates when he has to go but she knows it’s necessary.
“Love you too.” He smiled back before he left to go prepare his X-Wing.
That afternoon Poe took off and Y/n stood there watching him leave. He sent one last wave which Y/n returned before he left.
“Let’s get you to the medbay.” Leia offered her arm to her daughter as they turned to leave the hanger.
Once they got there the mother and daughter were put into a room, and there they sat and waited for the doctor to come in. Which didn’t take long.
“So, what are your symptoms?” The doctor asked.
“Achey, tired, puking all day.” Y/n listed, even though she hadn’t wanted to go she did kinda wanna know if something was wrong.
The doctor nodded with a smile. “I think I know what’s going on but let’s double check, okay. So how long has this been going on?”
Y/n glared at her mom, then her shoes before back at the doctor and she stated biting her lip. “If you ask Poe a month, if I tell you the truth about 2 an half.”
Y/n could feel her mother’s eyes on her but she choose to ignore it.
“Okay. Lean back for me. This is gonna be cold.” The doctor said as she squeezed some gel onto Y/n’s stomach, before moving a handle kind of thing around on top of her tummy.
“Well this is the reason your feeling sick.” The doctor started as she moved the wand thing away and wiped clean Y/n’s stomach. She smiled at Y/n before saying. “Your pregnant.”
“What?” Y/n raised her brows, jaw dropping in shock. Sure her and Poe had sex and sex create’s a baby but they’ve been very careful. The two wanted kids but not during such a dangerous time.
“Your pregnant Mrs.Dameron. And it looks like twins.” The doctor shared the news with the mother and daughter with a smile. The doctor left the room after to give them some time to digest the news.
As Y/n sat there with the news of being pregnant she couldn’t help but joke with herself that Poe was at fault for her being sick.

May the Force be with you.
Star Wars Men and Women celebrating Star Wars Day with you
Tumblr media
Characters: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ben Kenobi), Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Leia Organa, Luke SKywalker, Han Solo, Rey, Poe Dameron, Finn, Kylo Ren(Ben Solo)
Taglist: @akela
The Prequels
Obi-Wan Kenobi
This man is so sweet, he's confused why there's a singular day to celebrate The Force in your universe but he's all for it. He considers today to be a special occasion and thus uses the force today for the tiny things.
Anakin Skywalker
He's roaming the day in his robes, (the only time he wears them) and he uses the force as he normally does, but this time it's mostly for you. He's got his arms around you and casually floating this around you and for you. He doesn't take today to celebrate the force, he takes today to celebrate you.
Padme Amidala
She doesn't have the force but takes today to celebrate her life, like another life day. She's here to dance around with you and has a grip on your hips.
The Originals
Luke Skywalker
Luke's still young and yet he's got a huge grip on the force, just like his father but he doesn't use the force for silly things like floating things for you unless you expressly ask him for it. He's glad to spend today with you.
Leia Organa
She's a princess, not a Jedi. She can't do that force stuff like her brother can, but she's glad to spend a day with you and be yours without any diplomatic stuff.
Han Solo
He doesn't get it really, he just knows today's a day to celebrate him and who he is. He's secretly excited that in some universe, there's a day to celebrate what he's done to the universe as a sexy man. (yes, he's seen the edits)
The Sequels
Rey
She doesn't call herself a Jedi, even after everything she's gone through, she's just Rey but she loves to spend a day with you celebrating her universe. She feels like she's accomplished something other than saving her universe. She's glad to spend a day with you, watch TV, and drink wine.
Poe Dameron
THIS MAN FLIRTS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF TODAY! He's all like "A day just for me??" even when you explain it's not just for him. He gets serious though when he realizes that your universe marketed off the things that happened in his. (Google, execute Order 66) He wants to watch the movies with you though; seeing the past might be fun.
Finn
He's more of a "Can we not talk about what happened?" person when it comes to him realizing that your universe celebrates his universe for an entire day. (He wants all the Lego sets) He loves seeing the videos and stuff and doesn't want to watch the movies, so he'll watch the shows with you. (He likes Mando and thinks he and Poe would get along well)
Kylo Ren (Ben Solo)
He's very sweet, much like his grandfather, using the force to move things around for you. He wants to watch the movies, by the way. He then finds it creepy just how alike the actors are to how his family and enemies look like. (Oh baby don't go to Disney) and so he just sits and watches the Bloopers that come with the movies.

Poe Dameron x Fem Twi'lek!Reader
Summary:
On a solo job to Ryloth to pickup a shipment for The Resistance, Poe runs into an unexpected hiccup. With his only transport damaged and BB-8 offline, Poe is forced to stash his cargo and venture out into the harsh Rylothian landscape, where he finds you. Or, more accurately... you find him.
TW/CW: Near death, infection, fever, dehydration, fluff, Poe is a disaster pansexual idiot, BB-8 is his son fight me. Bugs!!! Big!!! Bugs!!! Strip poker (technically), everybody checks everyone out, but nothing explicit happens.
A/N: It's about time I wrote something for Poe! I can finally do the idea I had now that I thought up a plot! This fic takes place before The Force Awakens! (I hope you guys like the reference I put in there! Dun dun duuuun!)
And like, I just wanted an excuse to show Leia being the "team mom".
Asdfghjkl god this is a long-winded one but I didn't wanna break it up into parts; and the ending feels a bit lacking, but i loved writing it.
Tumblr media
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
It was supposed to be a routine supply run for some extra credits for the Resistance.
Go to the location, pick up the package from the dead drop, bring it to his ship, and go deliver it to his contact for payment, then come on home.
What he didn't anticipate? Was the pack of gutkurr that ambushed he and BB-8, his droid companion after they spent almost a full day digging up the concealed cache.
The large carnivorous insects ambushed them on the way out of a rocky canyon bend, jumping from the well-camouflaged crevices they concealed themselves in and onto the speeder he'd paid next to nothing for.
It was a junker, for sure, but the fuel cells and thrusters were good enough to do the trip he needed it for. He wouldn't be able to fit his ship into these narrow twists and turns even if he tried.
Maybe if he had his X-Wing, but that would have been too high-profile for this run, which is why he had to settle for a simple, tiny cargo freighter.
But while on the ground he needed something more maneuverable. Hence that kriffing speeder.
As soon as one of the gutkurr landed on the hood, the thin metal folded in, the inner workings of the speeder sputtering and erupting into smoke as the sickle-like claws of the creature dug into the metal for better security as it snapped its jaws in Poe's direction.
He had to bob and tip away and try to see around the animal, while BB-8 shocked it if it got too close to Poe. Always his best sidekick, that droid was his partner in crime.
But try as the little droid might, he just was no match when the speedier just died, unable to take the strain anymore as the electrical system short-circuited and send sparks of light arcing every which way, sending the droid's head spinning with a high pitched "beep-wheeeeep!" before completely stilling.
The nose of the speeder was forced down, digging a gouge of dry craggy soil until it pitched forward because of the sheer weight in the front from Poe, the gutkurr, and the cases of cargo strapped to the sides.
Poe was sent flying through the air, just narrowly dodging the snapping maw of the gutkurr as it rolled back to its feet, a piece of jagged metal jabbing into its flesh where the natural armor plating had gapped.
Poe spun around, both blasters drawn as the rest of the pack caught up, salivating at the prospect of a fresh meal.
A big, handsome, juicy one, if Poe actually had to brag about it.
He'd tried to fire at them, but his blaster bolts simply bounced right off their thick carapaces.
Kriff.
He fired again, and once more the red bolts fizzed off the shells and into the canyon walls, sending shards of chalky rock and dust raining down on them.
"Kriff!"
There were three of them.
Three of them versus one of him. It may have been a bit more even had BB-8 not been fried by the overload to his system, but right now it was down to just what little he had on him to fight. And it wasn't much. He had a few grenades... but were they enough to get through their carapaces when his blaster couldn't?
The creatures all hissed as they slowly advanced on him, snapping their maws and growling deeply to intimidate him into turning and running away, just so they could strike at him from behind.
Poe was reckless, but not stupid.
Okay, well maybe there was that one time on Corellia, but--
He sucked his bottom lip between his teeth as he slowly put one foot in after the other, backing away as carefully as possible with no sudden movements.
"Okay, buglies... Easy, there..." Poe said gently to them, his dark eyes darting around frantically for an out.
Firing his blasters was pointless, it bounced right off the ugly shells--
Wait.
His eyes quickly raked up the sides of the craggy rocks towering on either side of them. Maybe...
Ah... screw it.
Poe backed further from the speeder, leading the nasties away from his downed speeder and best pal.
If he timed it right... Then maybe he could pull this trick off.
"Come on, that's it... come get a nice juicy bite of some Dameron steak..." He continued to talk to himself as his hand slowly lowered his other blaster, letting it hang loosely from the worn leather strap. His fingers deftly found their way to the round objects in one of the pockets of his belt and he pulled one out, his thumb flicking the arming switch.
His feet moved beneath him in a blur.
In a second he was able to toss a grenade at the feet of one of the gutkurr, the creatures snarling and hissing at the object before it detonated, sending shards up through the softer shell of the underbelly through one of them, killing the creature with a thunderous boom and crack as the carapace gave way beneath the force of the explosion.
Poe had thrown himself backwards as the explosion tossed one of the remaining two insectoids against the canyon wall, disorienting it as the other lunged for Poe, snatching his leg between his jaws and crunching down.
Either the gutkurr didn't intend to rip his leg off or it was knocked off its senses by the blast, he didn't know. The searing pain as the animal's fangs shredded through his leather boot and ripped into his skin, sending hot gushes of bright red blood out onto the yellowish sand below.
Poe cried out, gritting his teeth and blinking back tears as he raised his blaster again, this time pressing the barrel straight against the eye of the beast; the white-hot bolt burning right through to the brain, killing it with a double-tap of the trigger.
Once it slumped to the side, Poe scrambled away once more, grabbing another grenade from his pouch and tossing it to the last surviving gutkurr.
He rolled into his side and covered his head as it detonated, sending chunks of rock crumbling from the canyon walls, falling and crushing the gutkurr beneath the weight of the stones.
Once the dust cleared, Poe laid back in the sand and heaved heavy breaths, sweat soaking his clothes as the adrenaline coursed through his body.
He managed to force himself to his feet and hobble back to his crashed speeder. His first action was to pull BB-8 free from the socket and proceed to check him over.
Upon seeing the scorch marks, Poe's brows pinched up and his heart fluttered.
"Oh, buddy..." He breathed as he leaned in, pressing his forehead to what would be the spherical droid's face.
"Don't worry," He promised. "I'll get us out of here. And then... we're getting the hell off of Ryloth."
Poe carefully set his droid pal to the side and began scrambling for his medical kit.
When he found the busted metal tin, he cringed when he saw the contents. One singular bacta patch and a bunch of bandages.
Seriously? What had he been thinking! The General told him he needed to keep a fully stocked kit on him, but did he listen? Noooooo.
"C'mon, General. It's me." Poe grinned at her. "How often do I get shot?"
She pursed her slightly wrinkled lips and crossed her arms, her brow quirking upwards skeptically, her bright beautiful brown eyes locking with his own.
"Do you want me to count on both hands or use my toes, too? Because I'd still run out if I tried to count."
Damn, the woman had been right. Again. He had half a mind to wonder if she didn't see a vision of him getting shot before this run, and reminded him solely because of that.
He read in a holo once that Jedi could use the Force to heal wounds, and he was currently fresh out of Jedi.
The throb in his leg sent fresh tears surging up to dew on the edges of his eyelashes as he dropped down.
Taking a piece of the cargo mounting that had broken off during the crash, Poe used his knife in his other boot to slice the remainders of his pants leg away and carefully toe'd the boot off his foot so he could better assess the damage.
And yeah, it was bad. He needed a medical droid or some kinda doctor, fast. With how bad the lacerations to the flesh and muscle, infection would be a death sentence. From a simple glance, even he could tell his tibial and fibular arteries weren't damaged (thank the Force) because of the gaps that were between the gutkurr's fangs.
But the force of the bite alone at least fractured his tibia, maybe even broke his ankle.
Kriff.
Poe ripped the foil packet containing the pitifully tiny bacta patch and pressed it down over the biggest hole in his leg.
Hell, if it couldn't fix it all, it was better it fix some than none.
He winced as the cold gel touched the open wound, and rifling through the kit once more provided him with some much-needed sterile gauze. No antibacterial gel however, so the risk of infection was still there. Especially from the saliva of that nasty critter alone.
"Beggars can't be choosers, Poe..." He grunted to himself as he broke another loose piece of metal from the cargo mounting and lined them both up, struggling to wrap them as tight as possible on either side of his leg so he could make a field splint.
He gripped the sides of his speeder and groaned as he felt his adrenaline wane as he looked at the wreckage.
Well... now he had another problem.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
By another graced miracle, Poe was able to create a sled that he was able to drop the crates of cargo onto, as well as his precious droid friend.
After he stashed and concealed the cargo in a small cave, Poe took stock of what little provisions he had, which consisted of some pre-packaged meals and two or three water capsules.
Barely enough to survive long; but, he remembered the way out of the canyon. There was a forest or a jungle on the fringes of the desert, not far from where he'd come in... Maybe he'd have a better chance of surviving. Maybe...
Poe talked to BB-8 as he dragged the offline droid behind him on the sled, murmuring stupid jokes and ideas about the shenanigans they'd get up to once they were home free. And about the ear-bending lectures the General would give him.
He realized though, after two days, that he was hopelessly, terribly lost. His water was running low, his food rations were okay because of the portions he limited himself to, but once the fever set in, the logical side of Poe's brain told him he was going to die an inglorious death in the middle of nowhere, thanks to a bum leg and a bacta patch that did a piss poor job.
Poe kept going until he lost track of time, walking on and on until he collapsed, face first into his own tracks, shortly lamenting his own life choices as he drifted from the conscious world.
Man, did the universe have a twisted sense of kriffing humor.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
It was a simple day for you. You were on your way back from picking clean a crashed Republic-Era ship for parts to bring back home to improve some of your farming equipment. Maybe you could catch some spare credits to stash in your emergency pouch beneath the floorboards in your bedroom.
Your blurrg, Kari, crooned deeply as she pawed at the rocky sand with her stumpy legs. You sighed, adjusting your sun visor back down to shield your eyes from the harsh light of your homeworld's star. It was an unusually clear day for this time of year, and the sun was especially unforgiving. You couldn't wait to get into the safety of the treeline and back to your meager little farm in the forest.
"C'mon, Kari. The sooner we can get home, the sooner I can get this cart off you." You say, leaning down to pat her, one of your lekku falling over your shoulder to dangle down, the tip curling slightly.
Sometimes you envied how humans could cut their hair, but if you cut your lekku, you were as good as handicapped, with how sensitive yours were to touch. Yeah, your head-tails were longer than average, and irritating, but hey, they were yours.
The sun gleamed off your sweat-soaked skin beneath your fatigues as you nudged Kari with your heel in the stirrup to get her to continue moving.
But once again, the stubborn she-beast refused to move, rumbling deeply in protest as she shook her stubby little head.
You grit your teeth and squint against the harsh sun, and that's when you see it. Your other animal companion, a can-cell, Cviki, circling overhead, his iridescent wings fluttering against the updrafts, the sun glimmering off his bright blue-green carapace as he made another aerial pass.
You frowned. There should be nothing in that canyon except the roving pack of scavenging gutkurr you have long known to avoid. Growing up in Ryloth, you knew Twi'leks were tasty snacks for the large insectoids. So why was Cviki circling like something interesting was there? There couldn't possibly be people, even the smartest smugglers knew it was dangerous in those canyons, all the locals avoided them with good reason.
You click your tongue and jerk the reins, "Alright, ma sareen. We'll go see what has you both so interested."
You bring your fingers to your lips and make a high-pitched whistle. The tune Cviki understood as "I'm coming, be careful" since you'd raised him from a larvae.
Maybe whatever was in the canyon was worth some credits in salvage?
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
You carefully marked your path into the narrow canyon as Cviki led you from above, knowing full well not marking your trail was a death wish to the unprepared.
But you were anything but unprepared.
Your lekku flopping in the breeze as Kari galloped through and in-between the canyon walls, you make an audible gasp as you yank the reins on Kari's harness, squeezing your feet instinctively in a command to stop.
A crashed speeder of some sort (honestly it probably looked better in the ground than when it was running) and the rotting corpses of three gutkurr lay in the craggy soil, smaller scavengers already hard at work picking the remains clean.
Living gutkurr smelled bad enough, but their dessicated corpses were horrible.
You dismounted Kari, patting her flank as you walked by, pulling your long blaster rifle from its sling low on your hips as you carefully walked around the wreckage, poking the twisted metal with the barrel of your rifle just in case.
Upon further inspection, you see nothing of value. Not even the droid that was surely busted judging from the scorch marks in the docking port.
Damn shame. A droid was just the thing you were missing to help out on your farm. Parts from whatever droid had been docked there really would have helped finish up the one you had in pieces back in your workshop.
Oh, well...
You kept looking around, noting that there was not only no sign of a droid, but no sign of the pilot of the speeder. You shoulder your rifle again and kneel down, touching the soul with your fingertips as you study the boot prints that had almost been fully covered by the drifting sands.
"Ah, hells." You mutter as you stand. Some poor fool had been sent on a fool's errand by some smuggler.
You turn, pushing your other lekku back over your shoulder as you whistle for Kari to approach. Cviki had stopped his flying to stick to one of the rocky walls, chittering down at you curiously.
You snap your fingers as you mount your blurrg once again, and whistle sharply at Cviki.
"Wachamio!" You shout up at him in Ryl, pointing down the canyon. "Let's go see if that poor sod is still breathing!"
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
Yeah, he was breathing all right. Breathing and feverish. Hell, when you caught up to Cviki you had to swat at his beak when he picked up the human man's uninjured leg in his mouth and tugged, playfully trying to see if he would play.
Yeah... he was the guy who fought those gutkurr, all right. He got damned lucky.
"Oh, kriff." You sighed, kneeling next to him as he weakly swatted at you, his eyes dry and crusted closed. You could tell by the sweat and mucus that he was battling an infection, most likely from the deep injury to his leg. He probably got bit by that gutkurr; everyone knew to immediately disinfect any bites--if you survived an encounter with a gutkurr that is--because of the bacteria that lived in gutkurr saliva. It was a death sentence to anyone without proper medical supplies.
And when you'd looked inside of the medical kit at the wreckage, you could see he had none.
'Equal parts desperate and lucky.' You think to yourself as you effortlessly (and gently) wipe the crust from his eyes.
"Nu nala quin-nala wilo?" You ask him.
"Whuh--?" He rasped, his lips cracked and split from dehydration.
You roll your eyes with slight exasperation. The man was delirious, of course he wouldn't be able to understand you right now. And, for all you knew, he couldn't even speak Ryl.
"I'm going. To help. Youuuuu." You emphasize slowly and loudly in Basic as his head rolls around and he mumbles incoherently.
"Ugh, you better be worth it." You grunt, whistling for Kari to come closer so the cart was next to you.
Kriff, that man was all dead weight, you felt your muscles strain as you dragged him onto the cart that was still hooked to Kari. You had to shove your meager salvage off to the side to make room for him and his little BB-model astromech.
At least it wasn't a total bust, if this guy died, maybe you could get his droid back up and running to work for you. But those were thoughts for later.
Right now you had some dumb human to lug back home and try to save.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
Ugh... The only thing Poe knew was that he hurt. He hurt worse than that time he was tackled by that besalisk in that one cantina...
A drunken dare, mind you, but he still got flattened by the man's weight alone. There was still probably a dent in that cantina wall to this very day.
His head pounded, but he managed to drag his eyes open and force himself up with his palms.
His muscles ached and his skin hurt. He was shirtless and dressed down all the way to his undergarments.
Poe dropped back onto the bed he was resting on. It was comfortable, very much so; much more than the bunks on the ships and in the barracks he'd been hopping to and from the past few years.
So someone had saved his stupid kriffing ass, but he couldn't remember anything concrete.
He dropped his hand onto his forehead, the skin on his body peeling and flaking away as the sunburn healed; thinking back hard.
The last thing he remembered was his vision clearing somewhat, and then a bright light.
Wait...
He remembered a voice. A woman's voice, talking in a language he wasn't sure he was familiar with.
"Man... must've been an angel..." He chuckled sardonically, his voice cracked and throat dry.
Poe winced and looked to the bedside, seeing a glass of water next to him on the small table. Instinctively, he grabbed it and chugged it faster than a pint of cheap weequay beer.
By the Force, it felt amazing to finally have something wet his parched throat.
He turned his head when he heard whirring and a rolling sound approach the room, and a grin broke out on his face as the curtain was pushed open and a certain round little astromech rolled into the room with him.
"Aw, I knew I'd recognize the sound of those servos anywhere! BB! C'mere, you little--" He grunted, rolling off the bed and biting hit bottom lip as his injured leg hit the wooden floor.
BB-8 made several high pitched beeps and whirs in a chastising manner.
"I know, I know, but c'mere, you little cannonball!" Poe laughed through the pain, wrapping his thick arms around the round little droid as he trilled happily at his companion's better spirits.
BB-8 chirped and beeped again.
"Oh, my leg? It hurts like hell, where are we?" Poe asked, looking around. This was clearly somebody's bedroom, in some kind of small, prefab house that had been patched many times over. Probably purchased at a scrap yard. Hah. Like that kriffing speeder he wasted his credits on.
BB-8 whirred as he rolled about the room, making various noises as he explained to his human friend the situation.
"An infection?" His thick brows shot up. "Damn. Please tell me I looked beautiful when I went down?"
BB-8 stopped dead in his tracks, and the only part of him that moved was his head, and he made a few beeps.
"Okay yeah I knew you were out, it was rhetorical. Who do you think dragged you through that canyon?" Poe sighed, shaking his head, his sweaty curls dangling.
BB-8 tweeted in reply.
"A woman? Wait, so I wasn't hallucinating that part?" Poe blinked at the tiny droid as he wheeled his way up to him once more, bumping into him a few times affectionately.
"Okay, yeah, I get it. I owe the lady. Definitely owe her if she fixed you up, little buddy." Poe smiled warmly, patting the droid's chassis sweetly.
He was so caught up in the reunion with his partner that he almost jumped out of his skin when heavy bootsteps halted in the doorway and the curtain was pulled back, revealing... you.
Hot, gorgeous, sweaty and badass you. You were covered in grime and dirt from working the field you had and fixing your tiller that had crapped out on you. Hot damn, you were probably the hottest Twi'lek he'd ever seen, even your head-tails looked absolutely luscious.
You had initially sent BB-8 inside to fetch a tool, and when he hadn't returned you came inside to see why.
You tugged off your rawhide gloves and leaned in the doorway, smirking at the human as you shoved your gloves into the waistband of your pulled-down coveralls.
'C'mon Poe, put on the charm...' He chastised himself.
He cleared his throat and gave you his best debonair smile along with his signature quirked brow and squinted eyes; the smile that had won him the companionship from many women (and guys and others in-between) throughout the galaxy.
But he couldn't fathom the fact that he looked positively pathetic with a kriffed up leg, lying half-naked on your bedroom floor.
That is... until you broke out laughing, and BB-8 spun in a circle, joining in on your revelry at his attempt at flirtation.
Poe sighed deeply, dropping his cocky expression. "Eh, so... Uh... you're the lady who I remember from the canyon, right?"
You nod, your lekku quivering from within the soft leather quiver you'd bound them in, "Yana."
Poe blinked up at you. You did speak Basic just then, right? His hearing just messed up for a second? Right...
"So, on behalf of... well, me and my little friend here, thank you for saving us!" He grins awkwardly. "What's your name, miss..?"
You smirk again and utter something, your name, perhaps? And then ask, "Zul nala z'rate nala quora?"
BB-8 speaks to you for Poe when he doesn't answer, merely giving you a concerned look as he began to fear he was stuck with a woman who didn't speak Basic. He really needs to brush up on his xeno-linguistics...
You click your tongue and shake your head, "Su'un na, mesh'e yahte." You roll your eyes and tip your head to the side and tell him your name, this time clearly.
"Oh, man, am I happy you can understand me." Poe grinned. "Uh... Can you... help me off the floor? Please?"
"Yahte." You sigh deeply, walking over to him.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
The man you'd saved was someone called "Poe Dameron" a supposed "master pilot" for some "resistance". When Poe mentioned your skills as a medic and your ability to patch droids, he even hurled the suggestion to you that you join up.
You refused.
"What? Why?" Poe asked incredulously, setting his fork down on your tiny table as you both picked at your humble meal.
"Because I saw enough fighting when the Empire remnants sacked my hometown when I was a small child. They did it out of sheer spite for General Syndulla's role in the destruction of the last Death Star. I lost both of my parents, I lost my grandmother. If it wasn't for Numa saving me from the rubble I would have had nothing." You say, your lekku trembling at the memory of your home being blasted to smithereens.
Poe wilted. The two of you were close in age, the two of you were young enough and old enough to remember the Death Star, the war, the people you loved...
And, yeah, he understood your reasoning. Why get swallowed up by the war that devoured your family in front of you, when you can be a hermit, farming healing herbs and delivering produce and salted meats to one of the smaller towns further north?
"Okay... I'm sorry." Poe said, his eyes downcast as his own sour memories played back in his mind.
"No, no..." You sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose. "I shouldn't have blown up on you like that. Kriff, I swear, living in the woods shortens my temper."
Poe smiled at you and stretched out his leg beneath the table, the brace you'd rigged up for him squeaking as he bent his knee.
"How's the leg?" You pipe in.
"Oh, it's definitely better. Whatever kinda magic plants you got, they're certainly doing the trick!" Poe grinned at you.
"It's not magic. It's just natural medicine." You waved your fork at him. "And don't forget, you owe me for using half my stash of bacta to help fix your leg. You still got a few weeks to pay off that debt to me, Mor'ski."
Poe held up his hands innocently, grinning sideways at you. "Heyyy... I'm a man of my word! And the deadline on that shipment is... Well it technically doesn't have one."
"Did you ever think that it didn't have one because your contact knew sending people into those canyons was a death sentence? Because they knew odds of one person surviving in that canyon were like, maybe 2 to 20?" You snort. "Sounds to me that the people who hired you have been feeding people to the gutkurrs until somebody could finally nab that cache."
Poe blinked and you could easily tell that the thought had never crossed his mind.
Yahte.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
"Careful, Mor'ski." You snort, leaning on the fence as Kari bucks Poe off her saddle once again; before shuffling on to drink from her trough. BB-8 makes loud beeping and trilling as he spins in a circle, enjoying some humor at Poe's expense.
"Ugh!" Poe groaned.
Kari huffed and made a short bellow, trotting back around to nudge Poe with her flat snout.
Poe pats her as he sits up, "Okay, you like me but not enough for me to ride you? I mean I knew my charm worked on the ladies, but c'mon, I can't even stay on you for five seconds!"
"That's because I've raised her almost directly from birth, Poe." You grin victoriously before clicking your teeth, uttering a few words in Ryl before Kari abandons Poe altogether to rush up to you for affection.
"That's it, ma sareen." You coo at her.
"Uhh!" Poe scoffs as he stands up, dusting off the old worn pants you'd loaned him, his leg brace creaking as he walked over to you.
The damage Poe had sustained to his leg from the gutkurr was bad. Bad enough that even your small stash of bacta patches (some of which were probably past their best by date...) couldn't heal all the damage or regenerate properly. Or perhaps it was from the bacteria eating away at his flesh when you found him. You weren't sure, but the man would walk with a slight gait for the rest of his life.
But of course, knowing Poe, he would use it to his advantage just to cock his hips out to get some attention.
You were almost gonna miss that idiot when he was well enough to leave, and his cute little droid, too. It was nice to have company after so long alone.
"Well what about him?" Poe asked, pointing to Cviki, who had just plucked a fruit from a nearby tree and ate it messily. "I bet I could ride him!"
You laugh and smack your thigh, "Oh, be my guest! But remember, Mor'ski: Cviki is a can-cell. Not a fighter. If he decides he doesn't want you in the pilot seat anymore..."
Poe swallowed a bit nervously.
Maybe he should stick with the blurrg.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
Three weeks had gone by, and you knew Poe leaving was inevitable. He had finally done away with the leg brace and you inspected his healing leg. It was coming along nicely. It would scar, for sure, but he'd be able to walk.
And you were right, before. He did walk with a gait, one he carried with confidence in combination with that aggravatingly handsome smirk of his.
Could this man find a dark side in anything? Other than the First Order? You doubted it, he seemed good at turning bad situations around.
And oh, you would miss listening to Poe dote on that cute little astromech, BB-8. He was like a father doting on his infant child. You even caught him scooping him up and carrying him if BB-8 couldn't flawlessly roll over something (though BB probably pretended he couldn't just to be picked up by Poe).
It's a wonder that droid got anything done at all! You remember when you first brought him online and he assumed you were some nefarious individual who had hurt his pilot and friend.
It wasn't until you physically brought the astromech in to see the unconscious and feverish Poe to earn that little droid's trust. With BB-8's know-how, you were able to fix a few systems in your own defunct protocol droid that you honestly assumed you'd have to fully replace, making it that much cheaper to get the old droid up and running. Once they left, anyway. You weren't in a rush to have the help anymore. You liked having Poe around, his stupid snarky comments and weird giggle of his...
And you'd be lying if you didn't catch yourself staring, sometimes, too when he was working on helping with your monthly harvest.
He was skinny from lack of decent rations, when you brought him in, but after being with you for a few weeks, getting a proper diet and food in him, he bulked up.
He was muscular, sure, but not that almost scarily-defined tone so many found attractive. Poe's figure had softened out around his muscles, giving his belly a slight pooch and the dimples on his back to become more prominent. The softness was certainly appealing...
He looked handsome healthy.
Why did you just think that? Why did you just--
Your hands stopped as you tied down your equipment for the coming storm system that was approaching from the north, and you looked up to observe Poe for a moment.
Poe was busy helping cover your younger plants so they could survive the tough winds. He'd even helped corral Cviki into his créche so he wouldn't get injured. As thick as his carapace was, all it would take was one piece of debris to shred his wings and he could risk being permanently grounded.
Cviki seemed to socialize with Poe rather well, chittering and purring when Poe would pat his bulbous head, his wings fluttering curiously and excitedly when Poe would launch a small branch in the air for him to fetch and bring back.
Poe was a masterful pilot--if his words were to be believed--but something inside you told him he was also suited for a calmer life. Like yours, running a farm, taking care of the animals; not fighting in a near-pointless cycle you couldn't understand.
But, it was his choice to make, and his life to live. And nobody in the galaxy could take it from him.
But little did you know, that you were already tempting him to...
You rushed then, to tighten the wenches on the equipment bindings as Poe covered the fresh plants, grunting as the wind tousled his hair into his face and struggled to get the tarps down.
You look up at the sky and frown when the angry and flashing storm clouds approach faster than anticipated. It could be a short, fast-moving storm, that was the hope.
But you were worried. If the clouds began to circle...
At least you had a cellar.
"Poe! Come on! The plants are covered!" You wince when a small twig is caught in the wind and smacks into one of your lekku as the wind pushes them about. You forgot to wear your sheath today and were paying for it.
"You sure?" He called out to you.
"Yeah! Trust me, I'm sure! Now we need to get inside before the main storm hits!" You wave your hand. "Wachamio!"
Poe took the spare second to slam the mallet down on the stake for one last measure, before hopping to his feet, BB-8 chirping and tweeting from the threshold of your door, urging you both to hurry up.
Once inside, you quickly spin around and use the metal bar and slot it into place so the door wouldn't blow inwards on you; all your windows had been properly covered and locked with the metal panels so they wouldn't get blown in as well.
Not one moment later, you begin to hear the first fat raindrops pelt the walls and roof of your home from outside, deep rolling thunder announcing the arrival.
"Well, uh... You ever play sabacc?" Poe grinned awkwardly, and you slowly grinned.
BB-8 made a sound that could be universally translated in any language as: "I've got a bad feeling about this."
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
It was just downright unfair. Clearly the universe did not favor him, or his hands at this sabacc game...
He was down to his socks and underwear while you were confidently sitting across the table, the only things missing from your outfit was your shirt, leaving you in your breastband only from the waist up, showing off the small scars and loosely defined muscles from your hard-working lifestyle poking through the light softness of your body.
You lean in as you see him begin to sweat, frowning at the cards in his hand. You'd both agreed on a simple game of sabacc, but because there were no credits to be put in the pot, you both settled on your clothes as the storm waxed and waned outside, rattling the walls and making his ears pop. He wondered how the sensitive little cones that were your sensory organs felt in the storm. Could ear-cones pop? It was a thought for another time.
"What's the matter, Mor'ski?" You rest your chin in your palm, grinning like a firaxan shark.
"...Afraid you can't bring much to the table?"
Oh, that was a low blow. He could feel the blush rise in his neck as his face heated up.
"Hah! Please, I doubt you could handle aaaallll this." Poe sputtered as he leaned back and huffed, forcing his confident demeanor back to the surface.
"Oh, I d'nno... I've probably handled farming equipment that was bigger." You toss back, moving a fresh pick between your lips and teeth as you boredly thumb through your cards.
"...Okay now you're just being mean."
"Hmm..." You look back up at him, a cold smile on your soft-looking lips. Poe felt a cold shiver creep up his spine when you looked at him.
And it was even worse when you flattened your cards on the table.
"Pure sabacc."
"Kriff!" Poe groaned, slapping his own bad hand on the table and pushing his hand through his curls.
"Oh, come on! I'm down to my skivvies, here!" He whined.
"Oh, I know." You giggle, batting your eyelashes at him and your lekku curl upwards a bit. "I'm not planning on making you completely strip. I'm feeling merciful..." You purred.
"...What are you planning?"
"The storm's let up a bit for now..." You hum casually, tapping your fingers on the top of your worn wooden table.
Poe blinked at you, his eyebrows raised up on his forehead. "No way..."
"One solid minute." You say, sticking your finger up. "Run around in the rain for one solid minute."
"Oh, come on!" Poe groaned, slapping his fist on the table.
BB-8 chirped and spun in a circle, almost laughing.
"Oh, whose side are you on?!" Poe glared at the droid with a scowl.
BB-8 whistled and wheeled over to your side, beeping and whirring in reply, making you grin even wider.
"You said you're a man of your word, Dameron..." You chuckle.
"....Agh! Kriff, why are women like this?!" Poe groaned, scrambling his hands through his raven curls.
"A bet's a bet..."
"Fine!" Poe scoffed, shooting to his feet and marching over to the front door, where your boots both lay.
He grumbled under his breath the whole time as he shoved his feet into them. Ah, well, at least the view from behind was nice...
You bite your lip as he pulls the metal bar free and the door rattles from the sudden gust of wind. Poe grabs the latch and it takes most of his strength to keep it from swinging open.
Oh, the moment he darted out into the freezing rain was glorious. The yelp he made as the first freezing drops made contact with his skin had you squirming and cackling madly as you clapped your hands and stamped your feet excitedly, BB-8 spinning in place and tweeting loudly.
He ran in a circle with his arms held out wide, shouting expletives the whole time as bumps erupted all over his body as his boots squished in the mud.
Once the minute was over with, Poe scurried back inside, soaked to the bone and shivering, his teeth chattering as he looked at you.
"Happy...?" Poe grunted.
"Very much so." You giggle girlishly.
"Good because I'm never playing sabacc with you again."
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
You both sat on the fence, watching as Kari ate from her feed trough, bellowing in between bites, her thick tail swaying as she eats.
"So..." Poe began.
"Hm?" You mused, spitting the weed from between your teeth.
"I still have that cache hidden in the canyon... I mean, I know you've already helped me out and everything but..."
You quirk your brow inquisitively. "You want me to help you transport it to the spaceport."
"...Well. Okay, I mean... Eh. Yeah..?" He said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't have a mode of transportation or anything, and... I can give you a cut?"
You slowly look at him, blinking. "You'd pay me to help?"
"Yeah! I don't see why not... Plus it'll help pay back and replace the bacta patches I used... Might help pay for parts for that droid of yours..."
Your teeth gnaw at the inside of your cheek, thinking hard as you look down at the mud. He made some good points... He has no ride, he still needs those credits or his near death would have been for nothing...
And those credits really could help you out.
"Okay, Mor'ski. I'm in." You reply, slapping your palm into his.
Poe grinned and gave your hand a firm tug.
"Knew you would be, doll. Now let's get to it."
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
You watched as Poe slid the last crate into the cart next to BB-8, fastening them down with wench straps so nothing moved. There had been no sign of gutkurrs since the two of you returned to the canyon, but that's also probably from the musk bombs you made to irritate their sense of smell.
Maybe if he'd hired a local guide through the canyons he wouldn't have gotten so screwed in the first place.
But if he did, he wouldn't have met you.
Hindsight is... well. A funny thing when you think about it.
"Do you even know what's in those crates?" You ask him as you mount Kari's saddle.
"Eh... no." Poe cringed.
"Did you ever think to check??" You frown at him.
Poe's gloved hands pat the crate in front of him, and even BB-8 whirs curiously.
"Ryloth is known for its spice production, Poe..." You sigh softly. "Interspace gangs like to use it for drugs, remember?"
"Yeah..." He said, gnawing on his bottom lip.
Screw it.
He popped the latches and peeked into the crate.
There were different objects, all bearing the sigil of the old Empire. Poe felt his blood run cold as he tossed the lid completely open, and began rifling through it.
Several objects had the Empire logo scratched out, some had them painted over. It was clear this cache no longer belonged to them, but...
"What is it?" You ask him.
"...A bunch of old Empire junk. The weapons are pretty much useless, their cells are drained. There's a few other things in here, but... They look like they'd only be useful to a damn collector than anybody of importance." Poe said, his body relaxed slightly. Nothing really dangerous were in these crates...
Except.
"Holy kriff." He breathed, reaching down to a small wooden box. It was half a foot long, and surprisingly, there was an image burned into the lid. A symbol he knew well as a young man, scrawled and graffiti'd on many Empire propaganda posters.
The symbol of the Jedi Order.
"What?" You asked, turning to look at him.
Poe reached in and pulled out a lightsaber. Its once shiny metal surface scuffed and dented, the black tips at the end of the handle flaked of paint, the clip snapped long ago. This lightsaber had been through hell, and had probably even seen action as far back as the Clone Wars...
"Is... Is that..." You stumble.
"A kriffing lightsaber." Poe said reverently. He slowly and carefully set the lightsaber back inside the velvet lined box, closing it and gently placing it back inside the crate.
"Nothing in here is dangerous, except the lightsaber, maybe. But nobody really knows how to use these except..."
"Jedi and Sith." You murmur. "Who would want that stuff if it's useless?"
"Like I said, a collector maybe. Or a dealer in war relics." Poe said, closing the crate again.
"Poe..."
"I know, but c'mon... Let's get going while we still got the sun."
"Right." You say slowly. You pat Kari's flank and jerk your head. "Get on, Mor'ski. We got at least a two hours' ride ahead of us."
Poe seemed wary. He'd ridden in the cart the whole trek out here, and all the failed attempts to ride that blurrg of yours made him hesitant to hop on her.
"Relax, if I'm riding with you, she'll be fine. Unless you wanna ride Cviki?" You smile wryly, the both of you looking up to where Cviki was poking at the rocks with his beak, his mandibles picking up smaller insectoids to munch on here and there.
"...No I'm good." He looked back at you as he stepped up to Kari's side.
As he grabbed onto your open palm with his, he looked at you with curiosity in his dark eyes.
"You good yourself, crazy lady?" He jabbed playfully.
"Rahn fanyo. Er... I'm fine." You mumble as he takes his seat behind you, politely placing his hands on your waist.
It was a gentlemanly thing to do, to avoid grabbing anything he shouldn't... but once Kari got into a good and decent trot, he'd bounce off her haunches faster than a blood fly.
"Poe, you're gonna need to hold on tighter than that. Or I'm gonna leave you in the dust and collect this bounty myself..."
Poe chuckled and awkwardly looped his arms around your waist, carefully adjusting it so your sensitive lekku were draped over his shoulders, so he couldn't squish them on accident.
"Like this?"
You rolled your eyes and tugged his hands until they were almost clasped together and his chin was practically on your shoulder. "There. Because being polite while riding a blurrg is gonna get you a concussion, yahte."
"Okay, you gotta teach me Ryl, doll." Poe chuckled.
You smirked over your shoulder as you snapped Kari's reins, nudging her with your heels.
"That would ruin the fun, Mor'ski."
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
You watched as a group of children fed Cviki fruit out of their palms, giggling and laughing when his long tongue unfurled to wrap around their fingers and clean their hands of any lingering juices left over. Cviki was very approachable, for a cen-cell.
Kari on the other hand... She didn't really like anybody other than you. And, well, maybe Poe now, you supposed.
You sighed as you watched Poe speak with his contact, a rather fat Twi'lek man who was obviously well off. A broker, you supposed. One who sets up people with jobs like these. Technically avoiding any trouble with the law because brokers around these parts were simply like bulletin boards for smugglers, you could pick what jobs they conveniently had around, and if you got in trouble, they could disavow any connections to you while still making decent credits.
And it was obviously a very good front he was wearing, judging by the bejeweled rings squished onto the man's fat fingers.
When the two began walking over to you, you groaned softly, Kari huffing when she sensed your irritation. You detested people walking up to you when you didn't want to talk.
Your emotions were high for reasons you couldn't quite place, and a feeling of anxiety gnawed in the pit of your stomach.
Poe was leaving.
Soon, he would load the cargo onto this broker's ship and he would leave Ryloth, possibly forever. You couldn't blame him, after almost getting turned into a tasty snack for a pack of gutkurrs.
"And this lovely woman must be the person who saved your skin, eh, Dameron?" The Twi'lek man chortled, his fat jiggling merrily as he elbowed Poe in the side.
His thin mouth was stretched wide, making his cheeks appear even larger and more plump, his bright yellow skin drawing little attention to his sharp teeth.
"Yep, my savior all right. Worked me right to the bone to pay back half my debt to her after those ugly bugs tried to snack on me." Poe grinned back.
"My my, sounds like a keeper!" The man smirked suggestively at you two.
You rolled your eyes and curled your lekku slightly. The gesture was hidden behind you, but anyone walking by could see the irritation and hostility in the gesture.
Men have tried to get your attention for years, and certainly, a man of status like this was always looking for aides or escorts of some kind. That life wasn't for you, not one tiny bit.
"She's.... Uh. A good friend." Poe said, smiling at you.
His soft eyes eased the tension in you somewhat, but you were still jittery and anxious. One, about Poe leaving; two, all the people bustling about the spaceport; and three, these confusing kriffing feelings regarding the quirky pilot.
The Twi'lek man handed Poe a small box, likely containing his payment, and BB-8 drove into his shins twice.
"I know, I know, buddy! I was getting to that!" Poe sighed exasperatedly at the astromech.
"I'll make sure the dock officials don't snoop, say our goodbyes." The broker winked as he turned to walk away.
"So..." Poe awkwardly began.
"Mhm." You hum.
"I'm glad you dragged my sorry carcass out of that canyon." Poe chuckled, his fingers nervously brushing the sides of the box he held.
"I'm happy my effort wasn't wasted when Kari didn't eat you." You snort in reply, smiling despite yourself.
Poe laughed softly and opened the box, plucking up a few chips into his fist. He held out his hand and placed the silver and gold chips into your palm gently.
"Here. I'm a man of my word, remember?" He smiled at you warmly. "And I promised you a cut. This should cover the bacta, and some parts for that droid of yours. Plus, y'know. To get yourself somethin' nice."
When he winked, you felt a flush rise to your cheeks as you laughed.
"Yeah, well..." You shrugged, not sure what to say.
"...Hey." Poe said, his bottom lip sliding beneath his teeth for a moment before licking it.
"So, I know this is sudden, but--"
"Sir! Your ship is cleared and ready to go! You got five minutes!" A dockhand shouted from nearby, startling Kari to the point she made a concerned bellow and stumbled back a bit.
You shove the credits into your belt pouch, and coo and shush at Kari, patting her down affectionately to ease her sudden fright as Poe shouts back at the dockhand.
"Ah... Great. Fun." Poe sighed as he turned back to you, noticing how your lekku were twitching and swaying as you struggled to calm your blurrg mount.
You didn't turn back to face him, biting your plush bottom lip as you patted down Kari, trying now to calm yourself as much as her.
Poe was leaving.
Probably one of the only people you'd call "friend" was leaving, and then you'd go right back to your boring tedium from before, while he flew headlong into danger with BB-8 by his side.
You couldn't really hear him as he spoke to you, imagining just how many horrible ways he could possibly die out there, at the hands of the First Order, or some pirate scum...
You did however, become aware of how close he was when he slipped an arm around your waist and tugged you against him. You barely had time to gasp and ask what he was doing when he pressed his lips against yours in a rushed, but fiery kiss.
He pulled back from you, winking as BB-8 whirled and trilled, spinning in place a few times.
"See ya around, doll. And next time I'm in town, I'll visit."
You were left, blinking, mouth agape as he sashayed with that new gait of his towards the hangar of his ship, BB-8 hot on his heels, tweeting a farewell at you.
You stayed like that, the tips of your lekku twining around one another twice, your face flushed with a different shade as the ship shakily lifted off, blasting off into the clouds.
...If he did come back...
"Come on, Kari." You say softly before whistling to get Cviki's attention.
"Let's go get some shopping done."
Maybe you would buy yourself something nice to wear.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
Poe sighed as his ship launched into hyperspace, feeling sad as he kissed Ryloth's atmosphere goodbye. It wasn't as beautiful or as sweet as your lips were, for sure.
But it made his heart throb with sadness all the same...
He punched in a few buttons and the hologram of the broker appeared as the message began to play.
"Poe, my boy! Safe travels. I'm sure you and your companion had a lovely farewell, no?" He chuckled gleefully.
Poe rolled his eyes as he continued. "My contact got word back to me, and she's pleased that the cargo was intact and was impressed you were alive! How about that?" The man clapped his hands and laughed again.
"Well, just letting you know," His eyes twinkled. "Miss Kanata sends her thanks and hopes you enjoy the extra credits she left in your pay!"
Poe frowned at the name.
Wait... Miss Who?
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
Leia watched as Poe studied the small hologram of a Twi'lek woman in front of him, squinting and mouthing the words as they left her lips.
The older woman smiled as she walked up to him, her long robes shuffling softly as her slippers padded the metal flooring of the base.
"Pick up a new language to learn, Poe?" She asked, her brown eyes shimmering as she sat next to him.
Poe almost jumped, unusually engrossed in the tutorial program he had been watching. He bashfully rubbed the back of his neck and laughed.
"You could say that." He replied.
"I noticed you walking with a limp, now, Poe." Her tone switched to a more affectionate and maternal tone. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah... Someone on Ryloth saved my hide from a bad sitch. Unfortunately I'm probably gonna be stuck with it forever, but I'd trade a limp for my life any day of the week." He grinned.
Leia hummed with a sweet smile as her eyes were drawn to the paused tutorial. "Fall in love with the local flavor, huh?" She grinned mischievously.
Poe stiffened and coughed into his hand, a blush to his cheeks.
"You... Could say that."

The types my favourite Star Wars characters would fall for:
Includes Obi-Wan Kenobi, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Poe Dameron, Din Djarin, Ahsoka Tano, and Captain Rex
————————————————————————
Obi-Wan Kenobi:
Tumblr media
Obi-Wan is a man who needs some escapism in his life. He has devoted his entire life to the Jedi order, and he had followed the rules with much devout, but from time to time, things get too overwhelming for him. He’d fall for someone who’d shield him from those moments. A person who offers him solitude and warmth. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an affectionate s/o, words can have a large impact as well. Remind him that he is still there, and that the war will be over someday. Grab his hand, run your fingers through his hair, anything to get his mind off of the things going on in his life. A person to run to, who he can confide in. No one even knows about you, and Obi-Wan is keen on keeping it that way. Though Anakin has somewhat of an idea who you are, he’ll never say it, much to the delight of Obi-Wan. He even helps his master cover up when someone mentions you.
——
Leia Organa:
Tumblr media
No one can convince me that Leia doesn’t absolutely adore authors. She loves to read when she has tiny moments to herself, and her collection is huge. She used to aspire to write a book herself one day, but she abandoned the idea after Alderaan fell. But then she meets you. And she reads your works and becomes inspired all over again. Because the language you use? Your manner of writing? Immaculate. She’ll ask for tiny blurbs often, being incredibly invested in your current works. Though her dreams of writing have long left her, this does not mean she wouldn’t want to not help you. She actually gives you a lot of inspired through stories told orally. The things she went through deserve to be written down, whether she does it or not. One day, you’ll surprise her with a bundle of the stories she told you, but written down in beautiful calligraphy. She becomes absolutely ecstatic. The usually stoic and stern Leia just bursts out laughing in glee, clutching the book in gratitude as she flips through the pages. After that, you cannot expect her to ever let you go.
——
Han Solo:
Tumblr media
Han would be attracted to someone who is confident in every single definition of the word. Someone who knows exactly what they say, and means it. Someone who acts on promises, but also does things for their own if they want to. He’d be the person to fall for someone who goes to the mall in their pyjamas. Someone who genuinely doesn’t care about what others think. Bonus points if you like to make witty and/or sarcastic remarks. Playful banter is his way of flirting, and having someone who returns that gesture, makes him feel all woozy inside. Run along with his age old arguing with Lando, and this man is done for. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be exactly like him, but if you are able to match his energy, he falls. And there won’t even be a question about it. Sure, he approaches you out of looks at first, but once you return his pick up line with one of your own, he freezes and simply stares at you. He’d probably say something cheesy along the lines of “where have you been my entire life?”.
——
Poe Dameron:
Tumblr media
GIVE THIS MAN A SUNSHINE S/O! Someone who makes him smile without missing a beat. Someone who runs around spreading glee to everyone around them. You’d think he’d be into the Han type - if you will - but he has a soft spot for the genuine things in this universe. Someone who is willing to try to make others happy, more than they wish to be happy themselves. And once he gets to know you, he begins to see this problem. Don’t get me wrong, he still loves the fact you are willing to cheer every single person up, but he sees it goes at cost of your love for yourself. And this man will remind you exactly how much you should love yourself: words, actions, affections, gifts; you name it, he does it. And he tends to pick up on your habits. Once it becomes too much for you, he’ll sit somewhere quiet with you and reverse the rolls. Now, he is trying to make you laugh. With jokes, stories or stupid faces. He doesn’t care. The first time he met you, he slipped over a droid because his eyes were glued onto you. You have always seen it as something he simply is: he is a clumsy person. In truth, he isn’t. He knows you think this, but you simply surprised him at your first meeting. But the incident made you laugh so much, he ‘accidentally’ walks against objects occasionally. Just to hear you laugh again.
——
Din Djarin:
Tumblr media
Din is very much tough looks, sweet heart. His type would not be someone exactly like that, but he would completely into someone with a kind heart. As a bounty hunter, he’s had his fights and quarrels, so something kind is rare in his eyes. He’d meet you at a local pub, looking for his bounty, when you offer assistance. In your defence, you had no idea he was hunting. You thought he was going to visit an old friend of him. And that is what he initially told you. But after your entire journey, he found himself taking your kindness to his advantage. And it got you into some pretty serious danger. After finishing his bounty, he went back to get you. To properly apologise, for a start. And then you met Grogu, and the click was immediate. Your soft voice, gentle touch, cooing eyes. And that is when he knew he was done for. Now it’s all sunshine and sunshine protector with him. He will be the last person to ever take advantage of your kindness. Anyone else tries and they’re gone. Ironically, it is somewhat endearing.
——
Ahsoka Tano:
Tumblr media
Ahsoka has a lot of energy. Sure, she can be calm, didactive, and observant, but she is a raging ball of energy. Lots of impulsive actions, whether they are good or not. She’d love someone who’d go with her head first into stupid decisions, but who could also tell her to calm it every so often. On missions, she is almost always at your side, or at least near you. When she tells the troopers to stay out, you can almost figure out her next move. Please, run to her and tell her to think it through, or at least to wait a little longer. She tends to be stubborn and will sometimes react that onto you, but she doesn’t mean it in a bad way. There will be times she has a huge dip in her mood. When she has spent all her energy, which usually happens after battles or rescue missions. Her face is planted into the pillows, groaning in exhaustion. Then, all she really needs is you to lay next to her. To use you as her pillow when you do. Your gentle breathing and the beating of your heart does miracles to her head. 10/10 would recommend Ahsoka cuddles.
——
Captain Rex:
Tumblr media
Listen, Rex is exhausted. Like, 90% of the time. Completely done and half asleep. When he arrives back on Coruscant, he doesn’t return to his quarters. He runs straight to your apartment, tearing his armour off the second he sets foot in your room. You’re usually already fast asleep around the time he comes back home. He will wash up quickly before joining you, wrapping his arms around you from behind, placing a soft kiss in the crook of your neck and silently bidding you goodnight. He doesn’t need someone who will wake up for him, or get him gifts. Of course, the gesture goes appreciated, but he loves to simply have someone there for him. Someone he can go to after the war and simply lead a domestic life with. Baking apple pie, making the bed, grocery shopping, adopt a pet, maybe even marriage or kids. That’s what he wants most. He’s simply looking for someone who can offer that to him. Someone to settle down with, even when he is still in the midst of the war.

poe dameron x reader
note: headcannon that poe’s middle name is cosmo, and i will now be using that as his personal cutesie nickname-
Tumblr media
han solo was dead.
and you had never felt more lost.
you knew him-you knew him very well.
he was practically your father.
he had been around since you’d been just a child, and you had accompanied him on many endeavors across the galaxy. you’d listened to his rants about his smuggling years, about his meeting of leia and luke, about leia in general.
you’d heard it all.
you weren’t with him when he died.
you didn’t even know until chewbacca returned with only rey and finn. no sign of the old man.
you didn’t cry for him. not yet at least. all you felt was… numb. a pain that rotted your core—something that felt as though it would never go away.
you’d been there for leia. for she was really who mattered. her brother was missing—her husband murdered—her son turned to a monster—
you knew she was hurting… but was anyone going to acknowledge your hurt?
poe dameron certainly did.
a few days after it happened, he went searching for you. and yet there was no sign of you.
he’d gone to rey.
“hey, have you seen her anywhere?” he had asked. she shook her head, “no.”
he’d gone to finn.
“hey buddy-have you seen her? i’ve been looking everywhere.” finn had frowned, “sorry-no.”
finally, he went to leia.
poe didn’t even have to ask.
“check the falcon. she’s always there.”
and so he did.
walking up the ramp, he felt an eerie sense of… something wash over him. he couldn’t exactly figure it out.
he could hear han’s laughter as he walked up that ramp, the countless times he’d seen you two walk down it, chucking about something one had said.
you were so close to han, he knew that.
why hadn’t he noticed before?
as he entered the falcon, he heard a faint sound—as though someone was crying.
he walked along the corridor until he reached the cockpit, and that’s where he found you-
curled up in the captain’s seat, head resting on your knees as your shoulder’s heaved with soft sobs.
it hurt him to see you like this.
you who were always filled with joy, constantly making jokes—seeing you broken just felt so very wrong.
cautiously, he took a few steps forward, gently
placing a hand upon your shoulder. you flinched, lifting your head, locking bloodshot eyes with his, “for kriff’s sake-“ you murmured, standing up a bit too quickly, “you scared me-“
“sorry,” he slowly removed his hand as he watched you wipe your eyes with the back of your hand. you always refused to let anyone see any sort of emotion, and he hated it.
he hated it because he did the exact same thing.
you sniffled, “what’re you doing here?”
“checking up.” he said simply.
“i’m fine.”
“you’re not.”
“i am;” you argued, but he knew better.
he knew you better than anyone—now that han was gone.
you fell silent then, letting out a shaky sigh.
poe took a step closer to you, a look of sympathy crossing his face. he took another step, uncross his arms, extending them slightly.
no words exchanged-and you knew.
he knew what you needed.
before you knew it, you were crumbling again, and like a savior, he was there to catch your fall.
you were enveloped by his arms, a tight embrace that you never wanted to leave as the sobs came again.
he held you close—not knowing the right words to say but he knew this was what you needed.
you didn’t need any words of comfort. you just needed someone.
and poe turned out to be that someone.
“i want him back.”
her voice was so fragile. as if anything could break it.
“i know,” he whispered, pecking the top of her head, “i know.”
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
leia organa was dead.
there was a sort of heaviness in the air.
the galaxy had lost not only a valuable general—but a ray of light—a beacon of hope.
the war was over. kylo ren was dead. the first order had fallen.
the galaxy was okay.
but poe dameron was not.
but—this time—he had you.
you returned to your quarters one night to find him seated upon the bed you shared, his hand hanging low.
you quietly closed the door behind you. “cosmo?”  he didn’t move. you furrowed your brows, “poe?” your footsteps were the only sound in the room.
you rounded the bed, sitting beside him. and then you noticed what was held in his hand.
it was a grainy photograph. displayed on it, was a young leia organa. she was smiling brightly, and you couldn’t help but wonder when exactly this was taken.
you’d never seen her look so happy.
you placed a hand on his shoulder, and only then did he lift his head. “hey,” he murmured.
“hi.” you whispered, smiling softly at him.
“how you holding up?” her voice was soft.
“fine.”
“liar.”
he bit his lip, frowning. despite his best efforts,  you could see his lip quivering.
“i just-“ he let out a sigh, running a hand over his face, “what-“ he paused, “what am i supposed to do without her?”
“poe-“
“she’s been there since-since i was a kid-i’ve already lost my mom-losing leia-“ his voice caught in his throat, choking back a sob.
you didn’t hesitate to wrap your arms around him, “i know,” was all you could say.
“i just—i can’t lead-“
“you can.” you whispered, “i promise you can.”
“y’know why?” you asked. poe didn’t answer. “you’re strong. you’re a natural-born leader. poe, you’re the strongest man i know. and leia knew it too.”
he sent you a teary smile.
“we’re gonna get through this.” you assured, rubbing his back as you pecked his cheek softly.
“together?” his voice was shaky.
you nodded,
“together.”

If You Do It, I’ll Do It
Warnings: slight cursing, weapons, injuries, let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Poe Dameron x reader platonic
Request: hi!! I was wondering if you'd be okay with doing a Poe Dameron req w/ gn!teen!reader request??
Y/n is really good with combat and stuff, so they're aloud to go in missions and everything, but maybe they have a rough time on one and come back hurt so Poe has to take care of them?? (making sure they eat, changing their bandages, trying to get them to rest so they can heal despite how stubborn they are, etc.)
Request by: Anon
*not my gif*
Summary: You and Poe always do everything together, but he hadn’t realized just how seriously you took that
A/N: HAPPY MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU; also, sorry I kinda changed the request a bit
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
You and Poe always had this sort of, ‘If you do it, I’ll do it’ mentality that not only got the two of you into trouble, but life threatening situations on occasion.
Being one of the youngest resistance fighters who was taken in by General Leia Organa herself, it was often easy to escape the lectures and rants that accompanied the mischief.
Because Leia treated you both as her own children, it was a given that you would often act like siblings- whose bickering never seemed to end- but were also partners in crime.
From stealing jets, to painting a rude instructors room a bright neon color, the two of you felt as if you could do anything together and get away with it while laughing your asses off.
Perhaps all of that was why you found yourself in that situation, the feeling of being unstoppable becoming too overpowering. Your young mind not knowing any better. Not like Poe, who was actually the adult, and should have known and taught you better about.
There was a chance that this was partly his fault- Leia would think so, anyway. On numerous occasions, he had gotten himself into some dangerous situations that left way too much room for doubt about whether he would get out of it or not. And now, you had done the same thing, and weren’t even the slightest bit worried.
You had watched countless times from base as Poe easily slipped away from death's grasp after backing himself into a situation that called for it. And now, you felt like you could do so too.
The two of you were partners in crime, after all. You did everything together. So if he could get out of it, then you could too.
There had to be at least seven troopers surrounding you, each with blasters pointed at your chest.
This should be a piece of cake.
Despite the circumstances, a smirk grew on your face. Poe has faced far worse than this, clearly it was nothing you couldn’t handle.
You, along with Poe and a few other resistance fighters, had been handpicked by the general herself for this mission. The objective was to sneak into an imperial base unnoticed, grab a hard drive containing information about the empire's latest plans, and slip out without making a sound.
Simple enough. Until it wasn’t.
You, being young, were purposeful for many reasons. Being able to get into small spaces that the others couldn’t, hiding with ease in almost any place.
However, that also meant that you stuck out like a sore thumb when trying to sneak back out amongst a group of adults. Something all of you had been too caught up with other plans to notice.
And now, even though you were cornered, you were going to be fine.
Wait.
This wasn’t like other situations. You weren’t able to wield the force and you didn’t have a lightsaber like Rey. You didn’t even have a deflector shield like Poe often did.
Sure, you were very skilled when it came to combat, but you doubted the troopers were about to put down their blasters for a good old fashioned fist fight.
Realization of just how doomed you were crossed your features when it was far too late.
“Y/n!”
A voice tore through the chaos of the battle. Poe.
The trooper standing closest to you finally pulled the trigger.
The last thing you remembered seeing was Poe, fighting like hell to get to you from all the way across the hanger, a look of nothing but pure distress and desperation on his face.
-•-
Slowly, you began stirring.
The first thing you noticed was a steady beeping in a place that seemed too far away to reach. You could only hear it through a clouded, muffling the sound.
You had to practically swim through it to reach the source of the noise, and when it finally became clear, you were able to crack your eyes open.
It took you a second to try to adjust to the bright lights beaming down at you, but when you did, you began to take in your surroundings.
You were in a stark white room that you recognized to be one of the medical spaces, and you were laying on your back on one of the beds. Poe was just to your right, sitting in a chair with his arms resting on his knees and fingers laced behind his head.
Under different circumstances, if you couldn’t see the dark bags under his eyes and the disheveled state of his hair, you would have laughed at how ridiculous and out of place he looked in the imperial clothes he had used for the mission, ones that were at least a size too big for him.
“Poe?” Your voice was scratchy.
His head snapped up immediately and a sigh of relief fell from his lips, “Hey,” He breathed out, jumping up and standing over you, eyes worriedly scanning over your body, “How are you feeling?”
“Fine,” You tried to pull yourself into a sitting position, only to be gently stopped and pushed back down onto the mattress.
“Don’t,” His voice was slightly strained, “Just lay down. You’ll hurt yourself.”
A frown pulled on your lips. This was so unlike Poe, the man you knew to live on the edge. Not to worry about a silly little injury, “I’m fine.” There was some slight agitation in your tone now.
“You got shot in the shoulder,” He gently lead you back down again, though his voice was clipped, “You’re definitely not fine.”
You furrowed your eyebrows and gave him an incredulous look, “What has gotten into you? I’m fine. Nothing we can’t handle.”
Poe's eyebrows shot up, “We? You’re the one who got shot.”
A shrug of your shoulders, “Well, yeah, but you’ve dealt with worse.”
His face dropped, “What? You think that just because I can handle something like that, you can too?”
Now, you were beyond confused, “Of course. Why couldn’t I?”
“Oh, maker,” He breathed out in horror, dropping back into his seat and rubbing his hands down his face.
“What’s the matter? What’s wrong?” You asked, worry seeping into your voice.
“N/n,” His eyes shone as he looked up at you, “I’m a grown adult, you’re a teenager.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, “Yeah. So?”
“So, of course you can’t handle the same things I can. You’re still just a kid.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Suddenly defensive, “We can do anything that the other can. We’ve always been like that.”
He shook his head helplessly, “I had no idea you thought like that,” It was as if he was talking to himself, but you could hear it too, “If I had known… What was I thinking? Always running around and goofing off with you as if I was a kid? Of course you’ll get confused, you know I’m older, but you somehow think we’re the same.”
His words were beginning to sting your heart, “What are you talking about?”
“N/n,” He said softly, getting out of the chair and crouching down beside you, gently taking your hand in his, “I’m so sorry you were ever under the assumption that just because I do something stupid and somehow get away with my life, doesn’t mean you can too. I would never want you to risk your life that way just because I could do it.”
“So what? We shouldn’t be hanging out? We shouldn’t be having fun?” Tears had begun to well in your eyes as you whispered out the words.
“That’s not what I’m saying.” He shook his head, “I love you, I really do, you’re my best friend. You just shouldn’t try to be like me.” A small, playful smile lit up his face as he tried to ease the tension, “Besides, you know I’m an idiot.”
You let out a watery chuckle, “Yeah, you are.”
Poe smiled, “So, this means you won’t put yourself in danger anymore just because you think I can do it?”
The nod of your head was enough to make him sag in relief, “Good, now come on, I’m gonna go tell Leia you’re up. She wants to give you an earful about putting yourself into dangerous situations.”

Smooth Talker Part 2
Poe Dameron x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist - Part 1 - Join My Taglist!
Requested on Wattpad! I normally don't do Part 2 requests, but an idea for this one popped immediately into my head and I couldn't let it go :)
Summary: Through a truly ridiculous series of events, you've managed to become a *triple* agent for the Resistance, being sent back to your original base by the First Order as a trusted spy after spending time as a Resistance spy in First Order territory. You can't wait to be back home, and even better, to tell your boyfriend Poe Dameron just what level of bs you managed to pull off.
Word Count: 1,522
Category: Fluff, Humor
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
I tried to keep a smile off my face as I stood, back straight and hands behind my back, facing General Armitage Hux. He'd been my main point of contact for the past few months after he'd been the one to recruit me as a First Order spy, and the fact that I hadn't laughed in his face a single time that he'd been telling me all about what being a spy would entail was a true testament to my skills.
I'd been undercover for the Resitance deep in First Order territory when he'd come knocking with a bunch of soldiers because he suspected my apartment was a hideout for Resistance sympathizers and activity. And, to be fair, he was right. Poe Dameron, my boyfriend, had snuck in for a rare visit and left literal minutes before Hux and his friends showed up. But I'd done such a good job answering their interrogation questions that, instead of arresting me, they'd recruited me.
Now, after months of preparing, I was being sent on my way to find and infiltrate the Resistance's base. I'd need to be careful not to blow my true allegiances, but once I got out of range of the First Order and was only expected to make occasional reports, I couldn't help thinking this would be my easiest assignment yet.
"Are we clear on communication protocols and the kind of information we're most interested in?" asked Hux as I tuned back in to the end of his lecture. I nodded once, curtly.
"Yes sir."
"Good. Then best of luck to you. You're doing your Order a great service."
I saluted, fast and sharp, exemplifying the unshakeable, blind commitment they looked for in their recruits. I held it for a few moments, then Hux nodded and I let my hand fall back to my side.
"I look forward to hearing what you have to report."
The march through the rest of the ship felt like a dream. I was being dropped fairly far from anywhere the First Order suspected of being a Resistance base to make sure no one would be suspicious of me, but I was still closer to home than I'd been in a long, long time. I could swear I felt the latent tension of the past six months ease out of my shoulders as I watched the ship disappear without me on it.
I took a moment to enjoy the feeling, then quickly got my head back in the game. There was still a chance, however slim, that Hux was playing me. If I wasn't careful, I could accidentally lead the First Order right back to the Resistance base they'd spent so long looking for.
I spent the next week doing my due diligence, making sure no one was following me and that I didn't have a tracker on me anywhere that I didn't know about. I sent a brief update to Hux through the convoluted method we'd come up with for contact, telling him that I had a lead and was going to follow up on it, and then I finally started the trek home.
When the entrance to the Resistance base finally came into view another full week and change later, my heart leapt. It was vital to my cover that I didn't let myself dwell on how much I'd missed this place while living among First Order personnel, but now that I was finally safe, I almost starting crying at the sight of it. I hadn't really realized how badly I'd wanted to be back here until now.
I walked the rest of the way up with a massive smile on my face, scanning the crowd for anybody I recognized. I got some strange looks, largely from newer recruits who didn't know me, but then finally I found one of the people I was most hoping to see.
Poe Dameron stood just across the hanger with his back to me. I grinned and started walking towards him with purpose, and after a moment, the person he was talking to noticed me and pointed over Poe's shoulder. Poe turned around with a frown that quickly changed into a confused but beaming smile, then started rushing towards me. I sped up too, until we were running towards each other across the hanger. As soon as I got in reach, Poe picked me up and spun me around in a tight hug, then set me back on the ground only to pull me into a searing kiss. I kissed him back just as hard, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and tangling my hands in his hair. I ended up breaking the kiss as a joyful laugh bubbled out of me; finally we were together without the looming threat of a First Order solider at the door ruining the moment.
"What... what are you doing here?" he asked, still smiling and completely breathless. I laughed again, joy overflowing in my chest as I looked at the man I loved.
"You'll absolutely never believe it," I said with a crooked smile. He raised an eyebrow at me, so I continued. "I've been recruited as a spy for the First Order."
"...You what?"
I laughed as Poe stared at me, brow furrowed as he tried to figure out what was happening. I couldn't exactly blame him–I still wasn't totally sure how I'd managed to get here.
"It's the craziest story you'll ever hear, and I promise to tell you every last detail later tonight. But right now, I should really go and see Leia."
"Now hold on a minute," Poe said, grabbing my waist and pulling me a little tighter to him. As if I'd be moving away from him voluntarily any time soon. "You have to give me a little more than that, first."
I smiled. "Okay, but you have to promise not to freak out when I tell you the first part."
Poe frowned, looking incredibly nervous, but nodded anyway.
"Alright..."
"So remember the last time I saw you, when you visited me in the apartment where I was hiding out to spy on the First Order? Well that same night, right after you left, General Hux and Kylo Ren themselves came knocking with a whole host of troopers at their backs."
"They WHAT?"
"You said you wouldn't freak out! Just listen."
I could see Poe practically vibrating and fuming with delayed panic and about a thousand questions, but to his credit, he managed to hold them back with nothing more than slightly tightening his grip on my waist.
"Well, they asked me a bunch of questions because they thought a Resistance spy base was operating out of my apartment-" Poe winced, but I ignored him and kept going. "-and I answered the questions well enough that they decided I was clearly a loyal member of the First Order with a passion for them and their rule. So, instead of arresting me, they recruited me to be a spy! Of course I said yes, and now I'm here as a triple agent, so I can feed them a bunch of bad information, or information that comes just a little too late for them to do anything about it while still being correct, all while being here again, on base with you and everybody else."
Poe huffed a disbelieving laugh, just staring and blinking at me for a few moments while he processed. Then a smile spread across his face again, even as he shook his head.
"That is... incredible. I can think of about a thousand other things I could say about it too, but... just wow."
"I know," I said with a grin. I stepped back slightly out of his embrace, then took his hand instead. At some point we would have to go do separate activities on base, but I didn't plan on spending a second away from Poe right now until I had to. "Now, I need to go talk to Leia and Major Ematt about all this. Come with me?"
Poe matched my grin, still shaking his head but letting me pull him out of the hanger base with me.
"Of course. I'd follow you anywhere, you absolute maniac."
I just laughed as Poe fell into step beside me, our hands still held tight as we marched through the base. By no means was this war over; we still had so much work to do, and being back on base didn't even come close to putting me out of danger. But now I was in danger and fighting alongside Poe and all the people I cared about, while still putting my skills as a spy to full use. It was the best of both worlds, and in the middle of fighting back against an Empire that just didn't want to stay down, victories like this alongside loved ones were the things most worth fighting for.

proper commissions post
my other commissions post is like 4 years old and i need to make a new one lol. also moving is expensive and i need a side hustle because my company has decided to cut 1000+ hours this month.
anyways!!
commissions are open rn. if you donate any amount to my ko-fi, i'll write you something (always over 2000+ words) and share it with you in your preferred form. normally it's on here, but i can send it via email, google doc, messenger pigeon etc. it can be for a character of your choice, as long as it's someone i write for, and you can get complete control over the plot-line or just give me a little prompt to run with. please note: i do not write smut for commissions.
they are a totally separate thing to my normal requests; the only difference is they tend to be a little longer but i will never prioritise commissions to the point that it's a detriment to the original, free content that people follow me for. that shit stays free always and i will always provide it to the very best of my ability.
lastly, they are an absolutely no pressure thing. there is no obligation to do this option over a free request - it's just a way of supporting fic writers if you want to do it. but again, no pressure! i do this just when i have a little extra spare time and also cos i wrote freelance writer on my c.v and i need something to make that at least a little real.
i love you all and have a few random fics that should be coming out over the next few days <3

“I’m sorry! Please Poe!” Y/n yelled out tripping after him. She didn’t mean to upset him Y/n just thought why worry him? “Forgive me.”
Poe turned towards her with an angry look in his eyes. “Why should I?”
Y/n let out a sigh before trying to plead with her beloved pilot. “Poe, you have to understand-”
“No! I don’t and I don’t want to hear any excuses you have to say.” Poe stated, shaking his head. He didn’t want to hear any excuses or reasons why she did what she did. He let out a sigh. “This.” he pointed between them. “Whatever we had. It’s done!”
Poe turned on his heels and left her standing in the middle of the mostly empty hanger. Y/n was on the verge of tears watching him leave. Had it really been that big of a deal? She just didn’t want to worry him but now she might have lost the best thing in her life.
“Y/n” Finn said having watched the whole thing with Rey.
Y/n/n” Rey called out at the same time as her and Finn headed over to the Y/h/c-ed girl. Both cautious and worried about her as they approached.
“Wha- no. I-I’m fine. I just need some air.” Y/n spoke wiping tears from her cheeks before she turned and walked between the two, heading outside. Needing to be alone for a bit.
Finn and Rey watched her go wishing they could take away her pain. Finn turned to Rey hoping she could tell him why their friends that were massively in love just had, well that happen. “What just happened?”
Rey turned her focus on Finn to answer her friend. “Remember that mission she was sent on?”
“Yeah.” he nodded
“Well, she got hurt really bad and didn’t report it. She kept with the mission. Apparently it was a life threatening injury.” Rey explained.
“Oh” Finn raised his brows in shock.
“Yeah, that's not the half of it.” Rey nodded also having been in shock at the news. “She didn’t say anything when she got back to base either. Eventually Y/n just passed out from all the blood loss. Scared the life out of Poe.”
“Ok. I get why he’s mad, but. Y/n was just trying to finish the mission. It was so important that no one knew what the mission was about or for but Y/n and Leia.” Finn said trying to understand why Poe would break up with the girl he loved more than flying. “But why’s he taking it out on her?”
Rey shook her head ‘no’ and shoulders. She didn’t have a clue either. “I don’t know but ever since he’s been distant and Y/n has been tearing herself apart. She feel so bad.”
Finn sighed looking off in both directions to where their friends ha disappeared. “You can tell on her face how bad she feels for not saying anything to him.”
^ ^ ^
“Poe, man. Your off lately. Have been for weeks now.” Finn pointed out sitting across from the shaggy haired man.
“I know.” Poe mumbled under his breath rubbing his eyes. He knew he hadn’t been at his best for awhile. Not since he broke up with Y/n. He always slept better beside her and she made his life brighter.
“What's wrong man?” Finn asked with a concerned tone and face. He felt for his friend, even though he had a good idea what was wrong but had Poe figured it out yet?
“I miss her, Finn.” Poe let out a heavy breath before lifting his gaze to Finn’s. “Look… I know I’m the one who ended it, what me and her had. But she scared the bantha crap out of me with that stunt she pulled.”
Finn sighed knowing his next words weren’t helpful. “You broke her heart.”
“What?” Poe’s eyes widened at that statement. He broke her?
“You broke her heart. Poe, I really don’t think she meant to cause herself to be injured or to worry you like she did.” Finn explained looking at Poe with sad eyes. “I think you need to talk to her.”
Poe nodded taking a gulp of his drink. “I will.”
^ ^ ^
“y/n/n, you got to leave your room at some point.” Rey said knocking on her bedroom door. The door opened and Y/n let Rey in before she turned back to as far as Rey could tell, packing.
“I will. Just let me have one more day to wallow in self pity and sadness.” Y/n casted Rey a tight smile before returning to her task at hand. Y/n hadn’t left her room much since the whole hanger incident with Poe. She didn’t want to see or talk to anyone. Well, she at least talked to R2. But that was it. It hurt to much to do much of anything. Her heart shattered that day and she has been trying to pick up at least the tiniest of pieces.
“One more day?” Rey asked a she stepped further into the room, completely puzzled by Y/n’s words.
“Yeah. I leave tomorrow for a mission.” Y/n stated not even turning to look at her friend.
“What?” Rey couldn’t believe what she was hearing. After all the emotional hurt the Y/h/c-ed girl just went through she’s now gonna go on a mission?
“I’m leaving for another mission tomorrow morning. Well, afternoon, but I want to try and leave early.” Y/n shrugged as she continued to pack her bag.
“What about-” Rey was hoping her and Finn had enough time to fix things between Y/n and Poe before either or any of the, had to leave again.
“Don’t say ‘what about Poe’.” Y/n said cutting off Rey before she could even finish the sentence. She let out a sigh before taking a deep breath and continued. “He broke my heart. I don’t need to worry how he feels if I leave.”
“But Y/n, Leia sends you on dangerous missions. What if you don’t get to come back? You don’t want to leave anything unsaid.” Rey tried pointing out. Everyone knew what had happened between the couple but the one’s closest to them knew they needed to talk. Make up, even.
Y/n bit her lip biting back tears. “I have a lot I would like to say to him. But he’s made it clear that I’m out of his life, mind, his everything. So I’m not gonna try. Cause that would be putting myself through unnecessary heartbreak.”
Y/n carried on packing and Rey turned and left her to it. She needed to find Finn so they could plan their next move. They had to get Poe to talk to her, and fast.
^ ^ ^
“Poe!” Finn yelled out running through the hallway with Rey.
“Poe!” Rey also yelled as they got his attention, Poe turning to face the two.
“What?” Poe asked now facing the two who seemed very out of breath.
“y/n’s leaving.” Finn stated catching his breath but there was still urgency in his voice.
“What?!” That got Poe’s attention instantly. What did they mean exactly by ‘leaving’?
“She’s heading out to go on a mission.” Rey explained further to the new panicked pilot. At least if this was his reaction maybe he could fix things.
“When?” Poe asked the two as he started to move around them ready to go find his girl.
Finn and Rey shared a glance. “Well, she’s not suppose to leave till noon but-”
“She’s already almost done with loading up her ship. She wants to leave early.” Rey cut in.
“Is she in the hanger?” Poe rushed out as he and BB started to fast walk backwards down the hall, ready to take off once a location was confirmed.
Rey nodded. “She should be. Go!”
“Go!” Finn shouted as well.
Poe sprinted down the hallways with BB-8 on his heels. Once they reached the hanger Poe headed for the spot where Y/n normally landed her ship. Upon getting closer Poe decided to call out for her. “Y/n!”
“Poe?” Y/n turned around confused as she was halfway up the ramp of her ship. Some people turned at the grown mans yelling but seeing as it was Poe and spectacles were his specialty, they all got back to what they were originally doing. “What are you doing here?”
Poe finally reached her, standing in front of where she had come down the ramp. He was out of breath but the look in his eyes, Y/n knew nothing would stop him. “I heard you were leaving for a mission.”
“Poe-” she shook her head but he cut her off. Poe needed to tell her.
“No, no please just let me explain.” Poe grabbed her hand hoping if he was it would prevent her from leaving before he could get the words out.
“I’m sorry I was so harsh on you.” Poe gave her a guilty sad smile and sent a squeeze to her hand. “I let my emotions get in the way, and that’s my fault. Please, forgive me.”
He really hoped he could get her to forgive him. They had been through so much together and he might’ve ruined it all. He was just scared of losing her. Poe knew her Jedi mind along with her being a Organa-Solo-Skywalker blood meant that she was more stubborn than anyone else in the galaxy. An truth is he would’ve done the same thing to finish the mission. He wasn’t being fair.
Y/n sent him a small smile and reached for his other hand. “Poe I understand you being worried, scared, maybe a little upset. But I can’t go through that again. Your reaction was, well to put it nicely? A lot. I can’t do it again- not if I give us another chance.”
Poe nodded in understanding. “I promise, I’ll be better. That I’ll do better to not react so harshly.”
“An I promise if I get hurt I’ll tell you right away.” Y/n smiled nodding along with him. She was glad to have her Poe back. Then she smiled mischievously at him and Poe furrowed his eyebrows confused. “You wanna come with me?”
“Huh?”
Y/n laughed at the look on his face before swaying their hands at their sides. “Leia did say I could pick and bring a partner if I wanted.” she smirked, both knowing they weren’t gonna pass this up.

Next part <3
___________________________________________________________
Even in her old age, Leia walked fast. In fact, she may have been running down the cordier. Poe Dameron himself struggled to keep up with her but given the hard slap he just received part of him thought he was just concussed.
It was right after he had returned from being MIA for three days now and they were starting to give up tracking his X-Wing. Sure, he strayed off his flight path to recover a comrade and got them back but got sent spinning right into enemy fire but he was fine so no harm no foul right? Wrong.
When he returned, General Leia was standing over a man who was working at a computer that seemed to be tracking his X-Wing (that was now abandoned in a random solar system much to his chagrin) and everyone was quiet. He watched Leia look down in sadness when the little dot on the monitor went out, his X-wing now detonated. He naturally broke the silence with the bag of chips he was chewing on. Leia’s relief to see him was replaced very fast when she realized he was not injured, or deceased or anything else but standing there perfectly fine in some new (stolen) clothes and eating a bag of chips. She quickly took her hand to his face, to which he winced and stifled a noise. Wasn’t the first slap she’d given him, probably not the last.
He was a bit more offended than he’d ever tell her that they were that worried. Like c’mon. He’s Poe Dameron. The First Order couldn’t kill him if  he was right in front of them (a proven fact given how many times he has been right in front of them and came out perfectly fine) but still accepted the harsh slap. Now what was he chasing her down the hall for? Simple, after the slap:  she growled at him,
“You’re grounded.”
An air of shock went through everyone in the room. When she stormed out, he started after her and that was 30 seconds ago. Even now, she’s way ahead of him and he knew better than to run up behind her.
Grounded. Poe couldn’t believe it. He was a grown man, grown as hell. So grown he had even grown a beard in the three days he was out there unattended. And now he was grounded? So what was he to do, sit in his quarters all day? For how long? Could he still go out with his friends? Was he stuck on base? Was he stuck on planet? Why was he pondering this so hard? Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks and he stopped as well.
“Grounded?!” He asked her, his brown eyes swirling with confusion.
“Grounded.” She repeated staring up in his eyes. Her face looked tired, annoyed, irritated. He could see if she was anything, she was not in the mood.
“You went off your flight path mid mission and you disappeared for three days. You didn’t contact anyone, you lost your X-Wing, and you came back eating a bag of chips? Everyone on this base works hard. Not just you. When you shoot off into the sky and have very little regard for the care or stress you're putting onto your comrades I have half a mind to discharge you. Even worse, you lost one of our X-Wings, which means we’re short one. You seem to have very little regard to how much work goes into making sure you can stay in the sky.” She glowered, staring down her nose at him despite being far shorter.
“Okay, I see your point but, and just hear me out, BUT I came back alive, completed my mission, AND saved Green-2. Sooooo balance!”
He frantically tried to explain to her. Oh God, it would be so embarrassing to be grounded, a grown ass man. Finn certainly wouldn’t let him live it down. Rey? Please, he may as well go back to being M.I.A. They still hadn’t returned from their own missions but he knew whatever mood they came back in, this would make them feel 1000 times better.
“Poe. My decision stands. You will not fly off this base, you will not leave this base, you won’t even open your window.” Now her voice was very stern, emphasizing the words ‘will’ and ‘not’ with each sentence. It made him shiver.
“I’ll clean the toilets after dark if I have to! I’m a grown man, General please?” He pleaded, almost ready to get on his knees.
“After dark, huh?” She said softly, her gaze lightly softening and a mischievous look taking place over her angry one.
“Any time!” He exclaimed, nodding his head quickly. His black hair flopped against his forehead in loose curls, his desperation glaringly apparent.
“Come with me.” Turning her back to him again, she resumed her fast pace and Poe couldn’t help but sigh quietly.  Another fast and seemingly long walk.
⭐⭐⭐
After opening two doors, going down into another level he’s never entered before, Leia led the pilot to a large area with glass panes peering into rooms on each wall. Light green fluorescent lights shone under the white floor in long lines. The glass seemed to be tinted the same shade of green but had rows of circular lights on the ceiling.
“Where are we?” He asked her in genuine amazement. In all his time, he never saw this place, through all the light speed jumps and everything else. She just glanced up at him. He was truly amazed but part of him was still terrified. He wiped his sweaty palms on his gray shirt and all he could think about was the fact that he’s gone three days without a shower. He could only hope he smelled semi-decent, as it seemed he was about to meet someone new.
“Do you know how your blasters are modified, who makes the medicine, who powers our entire base and keeps your ships running?” She asked him as she led him past one of the glass windows and he saw a messy office. He looked to his right and saw another one but they were both empty.
He stayed silent as they approached another glass window. On the left, was an empty and semi-clean office with modules, blasters, cups, notebooks and more strewn about. On the right? Pure chaos.
A tall laser stood being manned by a very short girl with blue hair curled on the sides. She had a round face with thin lips and gray, slanted eyes. She wore a white jacket with gold lining that overlapped over her chest and was neatly pressed. It pressed to her slim figure, highlighting her lack of shape and curves. In addition she wore a black leather skirt with no stockings and a pair of red boots with black socks that went up to her shins. A pair of goggles were snapped over her eyes with a pair of big, heavy duty black gloves.  She was standing on top of a pile on a long desk that looked wildly unstable and she looked very tired. Her pale skin was smeared with grease stains. She also had crumbs all over her face, like she was curtly cut off while eating. The laser she was manning was on at a very high voltage and another girl sat at the desk.
She had a beautiful head of curly hair that emphasized her face and simple make up. A large poofy afro that framed her face and a headband pinned her hair back to keep it out of her eyes. She had brown skin that reminded him of his own eyes and plump lips. She was…beautiful. She looked intently at the table, like she was in competition with the laser to see who could burn a hole through it first and her eyes themself enticed him deeper. Just looking at her made his stomach turn in the oddest way. She had deep bags under her eyes and she looked so tired she nearly looked angry. Unlike the other girl, she wore a plain spaghetti string tank top, a black leather pencil skirt that stopped at her mid thigh and black stockings. Her clothing clung to her curvy figure, accentuating every curve and outline of her. Poe also couldn’t help notice she was barefoot. It’s not everyday you see barefooted women on base glaring at tables, so how could he not notice? A similar jacket was swung over the back of her chair and had two pins on it that he couldn’t make out well. She wiped sweat from her brow. She held a strange button and clicked it occasionally when the other girl would say something, and it didn’t seem like she could see him.
Behind her, there was a tall dark skinned man. He had black hair that was shaved and brushed into waves and wore two shiny studs in his ears. A defined jaw that looked exhausted added to his handsome qualities. It seemed exhaustion was a common trait around here. He has the same coat as the other two but with a lab coat over it and circular rimmed glasses. He was writing something down on his clipboard at every single click of the button. Poe swallowed, wiped his hands down his front and suddenly felt incredibly nervous about Leia’s intentions.
“This is the science department. That girl on the table is Merca, that man is Forian, and as for her?,” she pointed a finger at the woman sitting at the table.
“She’s the head commander of this department.’’ Leia informed and this made him gulp in fear. He was starting to wish he took the grounding.
Forian said something with a shocked expression, the two women looked at him blankly, then glanced back excitedly at each other. The Commander jumped up from her seat and screamed. Merca turned off the laser and jumped off the desk into the other girl's arms. They spun around and Forian joined in on the hug. They jumped around in excitement and then the Commander lost her footing, they all screamed and fell over. A floury of papers rose up from the ground. They all stood up laughing and hugging each other, seemingly giving congratulations. Then, Merca yawned and took off the thick gloves and goggles. Forian slipped off the lab coat and gave an especially tight hug to the Commander. They both shook her hands and smiled at her.
“It’s time for you to say hello.” Leia’s knowing voice broke Poe out of his trance. She opened the door and she stepped in. Poe hesitated outside the door but took a deep breath and swallowed. Whatever this punishment, it was better than being locked in his bedroom or on base until Leia feels he learned his lesson. He took a bold step into the cool room and took in the sight in front  of him. The room was messier than it had appeared outside, there were scribbles of math that Poe couldn’t even try to wrap his head around written all over the place.
Merca noticed them first. She opened her eyes while hugging the Commander and gasped before she hit Forian in his back and he turned around seeing Poe and Leia. Both scientists made a face that looked like they’d been caught breaking some deeply important rule. It made Poe laugh but he stifled it. Then, the Commander turned.
“What’s wrong?” Her voice was soft, and calming. For some reason it reminded him of when he would lay next to his mom and she would speak to him like he was the only thing in the galaxy.
She turned around in confusion, and then went completely stiff. A look of shock that made him struggle not to laugh befell her face as she yanked her headband off and her hair fell down over her eyes like bangs. Pushing it back onto her head, she smoothed out her clothing and tried to look the most presentable she possibly could, like she didn’t just fall over a few minutes beforehand.
“Good evening General Leia. How may we assist you today?” The Commander bolted forwards to ask standing up perfectly straight. She seemed to ignore him, and that was all he wanted. Oh, he was so embarrassed, he felt like a kid being scolded by his mom infront of his friends. It was like every noise was modified. The humming noise of technology in the room, the rustle of papers still settling on the floor. He wished he could just be swallowed up into the floor.
“At ease Commander. As you know, this is Poe Dameron. He’s grown a bit restless in his position.”  Leia announced the man to the shorter woman but Poe was suddenly getting cold feet. Maybe it was the deep shame he felt. Was her plan to go around telling people he was a moron? That’s certainly humiliating if that was her plan.
With this, she glanced up at him and he avoided eye contact with her out of shame. He stole a quick glance, her eyes met his for a slight minute and he went back to avoiding eye contact. Curiosity filled her eyes as she slightly tilted her head. Leia was staring at him, the Commander was staring at him, the other two were staring at him. So many people just stared at him, and he was not fond of the attention.
“Commander, to commend you for your hard work, I’d like to reward you. You’ve been doing some important work, trying to create new gear for our troops. And you're so kindly assisting the medical team since we’ve been short some nurses. You are a very busy woman, no?”  The woman flushed in admiration.
“I’m honored to help, it’s truly no issue.” The way she said it flooded with humbleness and behind her Merca and Forian began to whisper softly to each other.
“Well, I still can’t feel right knowing you’re down here slaving away for the sake of helping keep our base running and pilots like Mr. Dameron up in the air. How about this? Until we can find someone to help you with all those busy tasks of yours, Poe here will be your personal assistant.” A sly grin came across Leia’s face and shock came across the scientist's face. Her jaw fell open and then closed, like she was struggling to find words.
“No, I don’t want to be a bother.” She protested quickly but Leia wasn’t having it. Placing a hand on the small of her back and leading her away she began to speak to the Scientist in hushed tones Poe couldn’t hear. He frowned deeply. A personal assistant. That’s something he never expected. Here he thought she was going to take him to be experimented on. But somehow this was worse. It was really nothing against a personal assistant, or against the woman herself. This was just so out of left field, even Leia seemed particularly proud of this idea. He should’ve taken the grounding.
Merca gasped softly and hid behind her hand as she and Forian began to immediately gossip about the situation. His cheeks burned with shame and he fought the urge to hide his face in his palms. Poe couldn’t do anything but stand there and watch the young woman be talked into accepting Poe as her assistant in front of him.
“Oh no! It’s fine, I don’t mind helping. I wouldn’t want to distract from his busy schedule.”  And Leia shook her head again, and once again insisted.
From here he’d have to be a kinder person. If this were him and he were given an assistant to handle his work indefinitely, he’d jump. Hell, he’s even pulled one too many all-nighters and considered breaking down Leia’s room door to cry about it to her. Yet this woman was refusing his help and he wanted to kiss her ass for it.
However, her protests were for naught. Leia persisted, she moved strands of the scientist’s hair out of her face and smiled warmly at her.
“No, he truly is excited. He’s decided that he just needs a break from constantly risking his life.” Her curt tone instantly silenced any protest. How do you protest General Leia? The simple answer is: You don't.
Anyone who knew Poe knew the General was lying through her teeth. Poe loved risking his life! It was number two on his list of top five favorite things, number one was always surviving after risking his life. Number three was watching shitty soap-dramas.
“Well…if he doesn’t mind.” The woman mumbled and glanced back to face him. She looked embarrassed and Poe almost had to ask her why SHE was embarrassed, like she was the one who had to become a P.A. until Leia decided he wouldn’t be.
“Of course he doesn’t, do you Poe?” Leia snapped her fingers and motioned for him to come close to her. He took a few long strides, still trying to keep his confident appearance up but he was still burning up with shame.
“Of course. I’m so excited to observe your hard work.” He said stiffly through gritted teeth. His brown eyes caught her wide eyes and she began to fidget. She nodded her head.
“Any more objections?” Leia asked her and the scientist now had a warm blush across her face as she stared at the floor and shook her head no. Poe sighed and muttered a ‘no.’
“Good. I’ll leave you to it.” She smiled once more, turning to leave and regally strolling out of the room. Poe considered chasing after her and begging her to let him clean the toilets.

The Arrival of the Pilots
Word Count: 501
Relationship: Poe Dameron x Reader
Summary: You went missing for a week. When you finally returned to base, a certain rebel pilot was overcome with emotions.
Song to listen to while reading: Arrival of the Birds by The Cinematic Orchestra (click link to open spotify link, or click here for youtube)
Poe ran across the hangar, simultaneous anger and relief flooding his face. Sliding around an ambling astromech, he skid to a halt just before where you stood. He gripped both sides of your jacket and tugged, leaning forward to meet you. You pressed your hands on top of his, squeezing in reassurance to let him know that you were here. That you were safe. He pressed his forehead to yours and just…held you there.
You heard him take in a sharp breath and shudder as he exhaled, leaning forward even more so you were both now nose to nose. His hands reached up to gently hold your face while his thumbs lightly slid across your cheekbones.
Maker, you could stay right here forever.
You slid your hands around his waist and he shifted to wrap his arms around you. You both clung to one another, desperate to feel the certainty of the other’s heartbeat. “I didn’t hear from you,” you heard Poe’s voice crack in your ear. You whispered “I know. I know. I know.” You repeated it, again and again, hoping to heal the open wounds in the man before you.
You continued, your words tumbling out faster as you were desperate for him to understand, “They knocked my comms out and it took forever to find a recon team and I was so far from any rendezvous points with barely any fuel or rations” You felt his heartbeat gradually beginning to slow while his hold remained firm, “Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. I was just so scared—” “I know, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” you quickly cut him off. You hated knowing it was your fault Poe was so scared. He pulled away from you for a moment, his eyes searching your face until he knew for certain he had your full attention. His brows furrowed, “Hey. Don’t you dare say sorry for almost dying while stranded on a remote planet in the outer rim.” Tears prickled your eyes, your lips pressed together, and your eyebrows knit. You slowly nodded again and again, more to convince yourself than Poe.
You heard a light noise behind you. You turned, Poe still pressing you against him, and saw Leia with her hands on her hips. There was no surprise in her voice at the two of you in such a tight embrace, just genuine curiosity, “Do you need some more time before the meeting?”
Poe cleared his throat and lightly wiped at his eyes. “Sorry General, maybe just another moment or two.”
Leia sighed as she turned away, “Of course. See you in there”. As she headed towards the briefing room, you both heard her mumble softly to herself, “Always the pilots…”
The two of you managed a chuckle, happy for some levity in the moment. You pressed your face into Poe’s shoulder and felt him do the same. You heard him lightly hum and felt his broad smile against your neck and knew things were going to be fine.
