a/n: it's about time innit 😭😭😭 a couple little thoughts about the guy that has taken over my brain for the past 6 months give it up for spider punk ‼️ very much inspired by @qiupachups's hcs go check em out here

Hobie tends to code-switch a lot depending on who he's around. At the Spider-society, he tones his accent down so people can understand him, but speaks in his natural accent around the mandem & people he likes (e.g. Miles 😁) He's the menace EVER though so he dials the Cockney up to 100 when he's fighting cops outside of the East End because they don't understand it 💀

Even though his handwriting is... atrocious, it's actually because he's picked up the style of ransom notes. In his universe, any sort of communication can be intercepted, so it's better that he can't be identified by his handwriting. That's why it's always changing, and he's half-decent at forgery too.

Speaking of writing, he can do a bunch of pen tricks. It's almost annoying how good he is at it, and if you were to ask him how, he'd just shrug. He's just that guy, you know?

His universe's Aunt May is a lovely lady from the West Indies and she runs F.E.A.S.T in Camden. They're not actually related, but he'll always see her as his aunt. She definitely helped him out after a rough patch in his life, and he volunteers often at the shelter. Everyone there has just accepted the 7ft punk walking around a couple days a week giving out breakfast and coffee.

Hobie is also bizarrely resourceful. He has a LOT of plants in his boat, and some of them grow vegetables! He knows all about gardening and makes the best preserves and soups. It's a good time to be at F.E.A.S.T when Hobie comes in with his little cloth bag full of veggie goodness.

About the rest of his family, Hobie's parents... He doesn't even know who they are himself, to be honest — not like he wants to. However, he does have siblings and a few close cousins. They're all separated, but Hobie does his best to find them. He's the oldest of them all (so far, at least?) and though they don't see him much like a brother at first, he makes sure they're taken care of, regardless of how much younger they are than him. They're always running around F.E.A.S.T, so on the days where Hobie isn't there, he can be sure that Aunt May has a few little helpers (though they're quickly growing taller than her...)

Good with animals. Even the ones that seem a bit rabid warm up to him after a little while. He knows when to leave them alone, when to give them attention, what to feed them, etc. That's why it's not unusual to see them following him around, and a bunch of kittens at his feet eating while he eats his own lunch.

Not actually a big drinker. I like to think he only has a couple of drinks or is just an insane heavyweight because there's no way he's gonna be dismantling the dictatorship if he's piss drunk. There's been a couple times where he's knackered after a night out, though. Just another reason to hate mornings, it looks like.

Most of the stickers on his guitar are from different shows and rallies he's been to, and/or organised, but only a few out of the hundreds he's been to (there's only so much space on a guitar, after all.) It's almost like a little look through his life since he joined the punk scene. Besides, who wouldn't want to beat your local government-made villain over the head with a picture of a cartoon dog?

Absolutely, utterly, undeniably terrible at singing — or is he? Not exactly. He can hum just fine, so singing should be a piece of cake, right? He's alright at a few songs, but "happy birthday" isn't exactly something you'd be performing at the Royal Opera House (he does anyway, but that's a story for another day. Fisk's 56th birthday goes just swimmingly with Spider-Punk on the front of the news.)

Despite that, he's not particularly fond of being known as "Spider-Punk". His Spider identity isn't really meant to be identified, despite how loud his whole get-up is. He's got a lot of people depending on him, and he's careful to never leave a trace of his real identity. That also means, however, that pretty much every punk in the area has a target on their back — let's just say Hobie's got a little "BEATING UP BLUE BOTTLES 101" on a Saturday morning for all his punk friends.

Since the government's got little recording devices and cameras everywhere, Hobie's taken it upon himself to... "borrow" them. He's got a couple mates good with tech, so he's on the scene pretty fast with his own crime-tracking network — pretty sick.

In fact, Hobie's friends (in his universe and others) are pretty useful for more than a few things. For pretty much every situation, he "knows a guy", whether that's related to tech, music, clothing, art, putting together a bunch of random stolen parts to make a dimension watch...

I got another ask for good omens, so I'm just going to do Hazbin Hotel here.

Charlie:

Charlie loves birthdays, probably because he dad always put in the effort to give her big, amazing birthdays when she was young. She does the same for you now that she's older. She has to pry your birthday out of you, but once she does she immediately gets to work making the best party ever. One fault of Charlie is I think when she gets into something she doesn't take into account anyone else's perspective, regardless of what it was about. So even when people are saying to her face that you're probably going to get too overwhelmed at a big party, she doesn't listen, because in her head everyone likes parties. Even if you aren't the biggest fan, you have to know that she's coming from a good place, right?

Charlie would be expecting a positive reaction from you, so if you do act a little off putted from the party she might be a little disappointed. But even so, she has a bunch of gifts to give you, all which are similar to the ones she got a child. This is probably because she still views you as a child, regardless of your age.

Vaggie

Vaggie goes a long with whatever Charlie wants, so when she learns that you're getting a party, she grins and bears it, even though she knows it might be too much. She keeps subtly trying to tell Charlie that you might not like this and that this might be too much but ultimately, she wants to make both you and her happy.

Vaggie puts in the effort to get you a gift that you'd like. It might be a sketchbook, some art supplies, or even just some time alone. Vaggie isn't good at proclamations of care like Charlie, but she does her best. She'd give you the gift before your birthday, in hope that your reaction to the party might be a little better because you got an early gift.

Once the actual birthday party comes, she's constantly making sure you're having a good time, to the point where she might be the problem. She's hovering, making sure everything is going well, she honestly just wants you and Charlie to be happy, so she'll do what she can to make sure everything is good.

Alastor

I don't imagine Alastor cares much for birthdays. He doesn't give off the vibe of someone who gets supper excited for his or others birthdays. However, it might be a little different when it comes to you. Alastor doesn't realize your birthday is coming up until Charlie talks about it. Even then, don't expect him to get you some big gift or to sing you happy birthday. I image the most he does it take you to have an extra nice lunch with him and Rosie. Rosie herself might get you something nice, probably some clothes, but Alastor still doesn't do much.

Alastor does care about you, so he will come to your party when it inevitably happens. Once there, he'll probably gift you with something small, like a bracelet or neckless, something that he'd prefer if you'd wear often.

Alastor has no qualms with birthday, I think a large reason he doesn't do much to celebrate with you is that he doesn't like the ideas of you getting older. As you get older it becomes less easy to manipulate you, so he tries to remind you of your ties with him through gifts like jewelry that maybe you can't take off.

Birthdays are an iffy subject for Alastor, at least when they come to you.

Angel

Angel doesn't really know how to celebrate your birthday since if it was him, he'd go to a bar and get drunk off his mind. But since you aren't that big of a fan of alcohol, he decides against it. He still wants to do something nice for you, so he's really the first person to just ask what you want to do.

You, him, and Husk end up watching a movie together a few days before your birthday. It's some cliche horror movie that he barely remembers, but you seemed pretty happy. He doesn't know if it's because the movie, or because it's for your birthday, or if its because of him, but he's glad your happy.

Part of Angel is upset that Charlie threw you this big party, even though it's obviously not something you'd like. She doesn't ask at any point what you'd want, she just assumes. She even has the audacity to be disappointed when you're overwhelmed by everything that's going on. Angel might drag you away from everything, towards the bar with Husk, just so that you don't have a panic attack. He wants to make sure your birthday is a good on, so he keeps you by his side where he's sure you'd be safe.

Husk

Husk is old and hasn't celebrated his birthday in years, so he doesn't really know what to do when yours roles around. He tags along when Angel invites him to watch a movie you you and him, just so that there's something he could do for you. However even then there's still this feeling that he should do something more for you.

Husk might gift you something small, something that you can decorate your desk with, like a little trinket. He isn't really the best at giving gifts, so he doesn't actually give it to you in person. Instead, he leaves it on your desk or your bed in the hotel. Even if you thank him, he acts like he doesn't know what you're talking about.

Husk cares about you a lot, so like Vaggie, he might help you get some time alone by giving you an alibi when you leave the hotel or take a nap in your room. He knows it isn't much, but he wants to do something for you that actually has impact, he doesn't see the point of gifting you something that you might not even use.

During the party Husk watches as you struggle to keep up with everything. He'll help you calm down with drinks and food, anything that will make you feel better. He even tries to crack the occasional joke, as long as it means you'll be happy.

Giorno

Smooth and practical — Giorno Giovanna never wastes an opportunity. That's what he considers this to be, a rare opening into your psyche. He'll even take notice of what the boyfriend was doing the instant you decided to voice your thoughts. Gotta tuck that knowledge away for later. Most importantly, however, is your response to this inquiry. He won't follow up much at the time should you respond in the affirmative, but it'll make a solid foundation for his future plans. He's always a fan of asking open-ended questions to learn more about you. Observation can only prepare him for so much. Sometimes he has to roll up his sleeves and put himself out there more, if it means he could possibly win over your most sought-after heart.

Bruno

“... I’m sure there are many who’d be grateful to experience that with you.” 

Bruno tries to remain blasé so as not to betray his inner feelings. Emphasis on the word tries. Really, if you were any less oblivious, you could've picked up on the borderline yearning timbre in his voice. He finds it equally reassuring and troubling that you're actively hoping to be in a relationship, to the point of voicing the desire out loud. It feels like a chance that, if he doesn't act swiftly enough, will pass him by. Bruno loves the others on his team dearly, but he knows how feral they'd start getting should they have been the ones you told this. You stress him out so much without even realizing it. At the end of the day, how can he be upset by this, when the mere thought of having you be his and him yours gets him through the most strenuous circumstances? You are his guiding light.

Fugo

“You want that? Don’t you see how he’s slobbering over her? Gross. A little self-respect goes a long way.” 

No, he isn’t bitter, what are you talking about, psssh. Fugo always expresses his disgust over public displays of affection, finding it to be in poor taste. Some serious self-reflection would reveal he's beyond envious. It just... looks nice... so fun and carefree... then there's him. A guy who has been chasing after you for years by this point without ever having the courage to make a serious move, lest he risks ruining everything. He keeps trying to confess through telepathy, meanwhile, you think he must be annoyed since, from your perspective, it looks like he's glaring at you. Poor guy. The extremely subtle hints he drops and telepathy haven't gotten him far. Still, staring at your wistful expression when you confess this fills him with hope. This could be the push he needs to say what he's been wanting to say for so long.

Mista

“Well, have I got some good news for you.” 

Mista is his own worst enemy. He wants to come across as casual enough to not pressure you into anything and make the atmosphere awkward, but by doing so, you have a difficult time taking him seriously. This genuine statement from Mista ends up coming across as another one of his jokes. You just kinda give him a light punch on the shoulder and laugh. Meanwhile, he's crying on the inside from yet another instance of you not picking up on his flirtations. What does a man have to do? Get down on one knee and propose while reciting a monologue? Now that he thinks about it, you'd still likely view it as a jest if he were the one to do it... alas. Being the funny person in the friend group has its pros and cons. Regardless of his mixed success in the moment, he'd still find comfort knowing you're interested in a relationship too.

Narancia

“What? You want to be a pigeon? Wait, that’s not what you're pointing at. Ohhhhh.” 

A heart-pounding moment! Okay, okay, he needs to get himself to calm down. These hand-delivered moments by the universe are best approached with a steady mind, using logic and reason to deduce the next optimal step— who is he kidding! You want a boyfriend! He can be a boyfriend! So, by following this train of thought, you could potentially want him as a boyfriend. He'd later go on to reveal this revelation to Fugo who appears nowhere near as enthusiastic about the prospect as Narancia is. It doesn't matter. A fire has been lit beneath Narancia's feet and he's ready to get moving. He intends to boost his appeal and lure you in using the art of subtly. When he's talking to another and you enter the room, he'll switch the subject and then loudly discuss how single he is. Super single. Not in a romantic relationship whatsoever. Nope, nada. His eyes keep flicking to you to see if you've gotten the message. He tells himself in his heart that you did.

Abbacchio

“I’m sorry to hear that.” 

Abbacchio is ready to shame you for envying such an obnoxious, unnecessary display being flaunted in public. Unlike Fugo, Abbacchio holds a genuine resentment toward this sort of stuff and wishes people would get a room. He'd ask why you'd be interested in anything like that. From what he's seen over the years, it's relationships that people loudly flaunt that fizzle out the fastest. You're more amazed that Abbacchio of all people is entertaining an in-depth conversation about relationships to feel like he rained on your parade. He isn't nearly as selfish as he thinks himself to be. He tells you all this not just for his own benefit, but so that in the event you end up with someone else, you'll give these matters some serious thought. He won't ever admit that to himself, however. Deep down in his soul, he wishes for your happiness above all else. He writes this off by telling himself he just wanted to complain about something he's always had a pet peeve about.

Tanjiro Kamado

— He's nice to most people, that's a fact, but he's even nicer to the people he cares about.

— Tanjiro is happy to see you playing with your younger brothers, he thinks it's the cutest thing in the world when you do Hanako and Nezuko's hair or play board games with Kanata.

— He helps you study, this boy is really smart and knows how to explain well. You are in good hands.

— He is very happy when you help him cook, and if you can't make some part of the recipe he will help you.

— He'll want you to meet his friends, and he'd be happy to see you getting along with them.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

Nezuko Kamado

Genya Shinazugawa

— The entire Kimetsu Academy wonders how you can be best friends with someone as scary as Genya, but little do they know that the boy is a sweetheart <3

— Even with a frown on his face 90% of the time, Shinazugawa is a true angel to you and always shows his gentler side.

— He is not a genius in subjects that require calculations, like mathematics, but he does his best to be able to help you!

— Sanemi knows you, and even though he is the way he is, he's happy inside that his little brother has a friend.

— The kind of friend who is always there for you, ready to cheer you up in happy times or comfort you in sad ones.

— He introduced you to the Kamaboko Squad, first to Tanjiro because he knew the boy would be kind to you.

Kanao Tsuyuri

— Quiet, very quiet, but she tries to be more open with you and her sisters.

— She's good with botany, and she'll help you plant and care for the flowers if you like it too.

— Tsuyuri really prefers to stay at home, reading a book that interests both of them or watching a movie.

— She's very smart, but average when it comes to explaining, so she ends up asking a few questions.

— She's already introduced you to her friends, although she still feels much more at home when she's with you.

— Kanao is not the best person when it comes to comforting with words or communicating in general, but for you she tries <3

Aoi Kanzaki

— She is certainly the most responsible among you, acting almost like a big sister.

— Intelligent but without much patience to explain, although it is a help.

— The kind of friend who is concerned about your well-being, always ready to give you a hug or a scolding.

i keep having really random ideas pop into my head and it’s actually a need to offload them.

I keep thinking about Finnick taking reader (before her games) for a dinner date in the Capitol as that’s where the best restaurants are. it would be their first time going out together and seen by the Capitol Citizens as a couple.

reader is wearing a beautiful dress and Finnick’s jacket is draped over her shoulders and he’s just holding his sweet girl close as citizens surround them as they’re walking to the restaurant together😭😭

idk it’s just so cute to imagine them going to a nice restaurant and just having the most lovely night together and eating delicious food. i definitely feel like there are a bunch of press taking pictures of the two walking together and it’s all over the newspaper about Finnick’s new ‘girl toy’ and speculating whether she will be the one to tie him down for good (she will be)

yeah I mentioned in one of the chapters of the lakes that during readers interview ceaser was like "we've seen you before" and she's like o h because she assumed they'd forget. but like when they wanted to a piece on finnick at one of his parties she's always around but her being in the Captiol with him just like jetsets the idea that they're actually together.

finnick is also a teenager so sometimes he just wants to show off to his sweet girl, "I wanna take you out somewhere, angel."

"Finn, you can take me out whenever you want, you know that."

"no, like in the Capitol, a no seafood in sight meal. for your birthday."

"is that even allowed?"

"I'm their darling, they'll make exceptions. plus, it makes good television." he's pecking her on the lips and saying he'll find a way to make it happen. because yes the Captiol already uses him as they see fit, but he's a teenage boy who wants nothing more than to show off his girl and show off to her.

he spends so much time getting someone to make a perfect dress for her, that way Capitol tabloids don't try to tear her apart too harshly and that she'll be amazed when she sees it. and trust she is, also a little peeved because why would he spend that much money on something she'll only ever wear once but he doesn't care because his girl deserves it. he'd prefer to spend all his money on her anyways.

and he's tried all the spots to find the one she'll like the most and preps her for the way cameras are sure to follow them everywhere. but she assures him that she doesn't care as long as she can be with him. as if it's not clear enough he's giving her that jacket as soon as possible to make it even more well known, regardless of the fact his hands are firmly attached to her.

thankfully none of the tabloids are too harsh on her because they're used to her face in the background, she's charismatic, has the 'right' personality for the press. there's a few that try to pin her as a golddigger, but her and finnick don't care about those because they know it's not true. of course they have a field day when they start being seen together less because of the breakup which only hurts finnick more. however the media gets a lovely bow on their story when the two end up together after her games, the star-crossed lovers from district 4.

Both danganronpa and even rain code have this underlying but incredibly persisting theme of the cognitive dissonance between one's personality vs their own nature that I can't help but think about a lot.

In my head I tend to call it the "Leon paradox" because he's the first and most obvious character I think of in regards to this, though he's far from being the only one. Despite being an effortlessly talented baseball prodigy, he dislikes doing it and his actual passion is becoming a musician. However, he's pigeonholed into doing something he doesn't enjoy simply because he's good at it and it's a means to an end since it's his only way of getting anywhere.

This gets expanded in dr2. Imposter's dissatisfaction with having to always be someone else. Akane not caring about being a gymnast much at all aside from the perks it gets her. Nagito's disdain for his luck talent that brings him constant misery while also acknowledging that it's the one thing about himself that he can count on the most.

It even becomes a focal point with Hajime, who did everything to fight his nature of lacking a talent. However, Chiaki points out that it's the fact that he has no specific talent that gives him more freedom than any of the ultimates that he admires. Turned out, gaining every talent put Hajime into his own prison, and it's his loss of personality that made him essentially useless.

Even in V3 you have Kaede who actually loves her talent so much that she feels like it's an obsession that affects her ability to socialize normally. Kokichi also seems to have brief moments where he acknowledges that his talent is a huge barrier to being able to actually connect with people and causes his loneliness, but decides that it's a compulsion that's too troublesome to change so he just accepts it.

Shuichi sticks out to me when it comes to this theme. He's extremely good at detective work and will often do it on impulse regardless of reward. However, even just stumbling on his first murder case and solving it before the police could even touch it, he could not cope with the results of the person he'd affected. His emotional sensitivity traumatized him into being avoidant, even using a hat as a literal blinder. He was prepared to die in the first trial in fear of revealing the truth. His compulsion to do detective work even kind of ruined Kokichi and Kaito's plot in ch5, as he got so ahead of himself with revealing the truth that just kind of blurted everything out before realizing that he shouldn't have. His compulsion with detective work even seems to make him comparatively calmer and more focused during investigations than the other protagonists, despite easily being the emotionally weakest-willed out of all of them. He repeatedly keeps falling back into his talent despite the emotional toll it has on him because he just can't help himself. He kind of acts as an example of one of the reasons why Kyoko was trained to be emotionally detached.

Jin actually is very much like Shuichi. He tries to actively avoid detective work because he despises the emotional detachment required for it. You wouldn't even know that he's actually really good at it, but you see glimpses into his skill in the novels where he'll end up figuring things out before even Kyoko does on more than one occasion. I can talk a lot about Jin, but I do get the feeling that one of the reasons why he works at Hope's Peak is because he knew more about what would end up happening there than he let on. He probably could have gotten quite a few things done if he wasn't so insistent on fighting his own nature as a detective.

Very honorable mention to Yui, who turned down an invitation to Hope's Peak for her high-jumping talent in order to pursue her passion as a very mid detective. She might've even lived if she went to Hope's Peak because I'm pretty sure she would've graduated by the time of the tragedy, but at least she died in the most based way possible by rejecting them.

And of course, Junko is a prime example of the detrimental effect of talent. Because of her analytical abilities, she can practically guess everything that's going to happen. Her obsession with despair is a desperate attempt at being mentally stimulated in a society that has let the status quo stagnate to such a critical degree that it's the reason why the very concept of talent had been rotted to this point. Sorry to Kodaka, who has repeatedly said that Junko is meant to be a truly evil villain with no motivation, but he did kind of accidentally give her a motivation in dr0 where we're shown for a fact that without her memories and ability to analyze, she's relatively normal and tame. That is her nature, just a kind of weird girl who wants to be a tradwife and go grow corn somewhere. However, I think it can be argued that what is meant by "pure evil with no motivation" is that she doesn't have any sort of tangible tragic backstory. You can even say it's not her analyst ability alone that caused her madness, since there's plenty of normal non-world-ending analysts. It may simply be that her personality happened to mix terribly with her talent, and that's the nature of what makes her pure evil, because both of those aspects of her are part of her nature that she can not (nor does she even want to) control despite the misery it causes her. She simply learned to love the misery.

Makoto himself is very clear about being bitter about his luck. For the most part, what's apparent to him is that it causes him constant trouble and the good that it actually does for him is so subtle and disjointed that he doesn't even realize it's his luck. However, I think what makes him different from people like Nagito or Junko is his personality. He doesn't obsess like they do, and his optimism makes him bounce back easily. I think his luck even feeds into his personality and, inverse to Junko, it's the unpredictability of his luck that makes him hopeful and optimistic. Since he never knows what's going to happen to him, he had to develop a way to roll with the punches.

The aspect of personality vs ability also carries over to rain code. The master detectives are people who have innate psychic abilities that are seemingly based on their nature, and then it gets refined and specialized based on their personality. Not only does their personality help to refine these powers, but you see that their personalities and abilities often have detrimental impacts on each other.

Halara can't see living things in their postcognition because they aren't good at looking at people. Pucci's ability makes her hearing so sensitive that it's at least partially caused her emotional detachment. Melami not only likes fashion so much that she must wear the clothes of someone to use her power, but she also has to actually like the clothes too. Vivia is constantly fatigued and has depressive tendencies due his tenuous attachment to his spirit.

Former Number One/Makoto are a great example of this sort of destructive feedback loop of cognitive dissonance. You can infer that their empathy and obsession with helping people is what gives them the ability to use coalescence and share anyone's abilities, yet it's the fact that they can do anything that makes them feel like they must do everything. Ironically, the fact that they've convinced themselves that they must do everything makes their ability essentially useless because they end up only working alone. As a result, Former Number One became detached with every emotion except for his obsession, and it's what caused Makoto to ultimately spiral.

SO...(by the way, these are all for canon!Aemond. I wasn’t sure if, when you mentioned daughters and dating you were referring to Amaelia in my modern au as well. But do let me know and I can make a separate post! 💖)

Aemond's children: courting headcanons

Generally speaking, I think Aemond would have an inner conflict between what he knows is their duty and his own personal wishes for his children. I headcanon that none of his children are interested in courting, or at least it isn't at the front of their minds, which is amazing for Aemond, selfishly. But then, because of the times they live in, it is still a duty to keep extending the bloodline. I think he'd navigate somewhere in between, encouraging a betrothal but also having it be on their own terms as much as possible. Now! with each kid:

Elaena:

Elaena would be the least interested in courting because she's the most independent and adventurous of the three. But (and a previous anon brought this, so anon if you see this, much love to you!!) she'd be like, 'If someone wants to win my hand in marriage, they will do so in combat. Against me."

And Aemond is secretly thrilled. He knows of his daughter's skills and that it will be a hard match. Regardless of how unconventional her proposal is, he accepts it, basking in the fact that he'll have his little girl all to himself for a long while. Also in the scenario that Aegon is king in this timeline, he also accepts his niece's odd little condition to have her betrothed, so this isn't a problem. And he attends most of the matches, cheering for Elaena.

Indeed, many suitors aren't intimidated and they end up leaving the combat grounds quite angry at not being able to beat her. They were not worthy anyway.

But I'm imagining...in comes Elaena's childhood friend, with a playful grin and a determined energy. A young lord of her age, her only friend in the entire court.

He’s not all that muscled but he’s lean and agile; he’s taller than Elaena (and she’s super tall, so), has a boyish smile despite his sharp, masculine features, and his curls are never tame. He looks intimidating but he’s very goofy when it’s just the two of them, and has a calm aura that’s like the constant shore to Elaena’s tidal wave of a personality.

Elaena feels confident - she knows him better than anyone, she's trained with him, and it'll be an easy game. But just as she knows him, he does too. Has known her, her whole life, he knows her weaknesses. He ends up beating her and she's impressed and suddenly she's looking at him in an entirely different light. And honestly? she's not even mad. She does love him. She’s kinda always known.

She’s often thought that, the day that his friend gets betrothed and he gets separated from her, it’ll be the saddest day for her.

Aemond knows, he's seen them together. And he gives them his blessing, knowing that her daughter will be cared for and loved.

Vaella

I've mentioned before that Vaella is the most insecure of the three because she sees how lords and ladies of the court are always after Elaena and Aeron. She feels like, maybe she isn't as attractive or special as her siblings.

Aemond has consoled her on several occasions, telling her that she's the mirror image of her mother and the most beautiful girl in the Seven Kingdoms, that anyone who doesn’t see it is unworthy of her. He’s super fierce when it comes to reassuring her, like he’s almost angry at himself that his daughter would ever question her worth.

Vaella just smiles and shakes her head. She's still young and attached at the hip to Aemond, so she's always like, "It's alright, kepa. Elaena and Aeron can get married. I'm going to stay back with you and muña. You're my best friend after all. If I get married, who am I going to recite my poetry to?"

"To your betrothed, my sweet dove. You will find someone. Don’t lose hope.”

For the most part, Vaella acts as if she doesn't mind not courting, and Aemond doesn't push her to do it either. He prefers her being alone than her being forced into a loveless marriage, he doesn't want to see his little girl get hurt. Even if he knows that the older she gets, she feels a little bit lonely.

Time goes by, and Vaella puts herself out there and tries her luck with the lords that have struck her fancy, but she only ever gets heartbroken. Aemond is always there to soothe her, asks if he wants him to deal with it - meaning, feed them to Vaghar.

At some point, Aegon must've told Aemond to just betroth her to a good suitor, but Aemond was enraged. But afterward, maybe reader suggests that looking for a betrothal shouldn't necessarily mean going through with it, but it could be a little push. You set out to look for the best candidates to make it easier for Vaella to navigate courting. And they're all very nice and lovely to her, even when she's still a little weary of getting hurt.

Then a lord just two years older than her, comes in. Maybe he’s from the North. He comes in, looking just as reluctant as her to be put through it, so Vaella is thinking this is just wasting everyone’s time. In a moment of desperation at the dinner table, she excuses herself and goes out to the balcony for fresh air by herself. After a moment, the lord comes out and very shyly approaches her. With the sunset, Vaella notices that his eyes gleam with kindness, and his eyelashes are long when he looks down at the ground, pulling something out of a satchel, “I was told that you were keen on the arts. I was hoping to give you this towards the end of my stay here, but I figured you might want this now. You seemed a little annoyed during dinner so, I hope this will cheer you up, if only a little bit.”

It’s a brand new stack of parchment paper, and a set of very nice charcoals. Vaella is smitten right then and there, and when she smiles at the Lord, he’s struck by her beauty as well.

Aemond had been looking for her too, but stood back hidden in a corner watching the exchange when he spotted them. He feels a little melancholic because he knows this is it. His baby is no longer his baby, but he’s also happy that she’s finally found someone kind that will love her in the way that she deserves.

Aeron

Oh, Aeron. Baby boy Aeron, he’s so clueless lmao. He seriously has no clue that all the ladies at court fawn over him.

When they flirt or approach him he’s just — he doesn’t catch any hints at all.

Because of their world, I think Aemond would feel that because Aeron is his only son, he’d need to put more pressure on him to marry. But in his heart he doesn’t want to do that with any of his children. He does end up caving with Aeron, he’s a man of his time.

Aemond is constantly bringing up names to Aeron as they train together, but Aeron just shrugs his shoulders and gives him vague responses like, “Oh yes, I’ve seen her around the Keep. I’ve never talked to her, though”. “Her? Isn’t she rumored to be seeing a commoner?”, “Who? Oh I don’t know who she is. What did you say her name was?”

One time Aemond has had it and he’s very direct with Aeron and tells him, straight to the point. “You do know you’re gonna have to get married, son? Elaena has already been betrothed. And we’ve been seaking suitors for Vaella day and night. You’re going to have to follow, my boy. Sooner or later…”

Aeron is like, “But kepa, I…I just…you’ve always said that with muña you felt a connection. A bond. I…I just don’t feel it with any of the ladies that approach me…I don’t know how to go about it all. I don’t know what to do…”

“Would it be easier for you to be betrothed? For us to help you choose — “

“ — No! I mean…there is someone…I just don’t know how to approach her. She’s never around in the training grounds, and I only see her when I go to the library. I don’t want to disturb her reading time, so I just…what do I do!?”

Aemond chuckles, completely understanding Aaron’s hesitance to interrupt someone when they’re reading. He’s raised him well — especially if he has his eyes set out on someone who frequents one of Aemond’s (and Aeron’s) favorite places. “Tell me more about her”

Aeron tells him how she’s a witchy looking girl of his own age, who’s always reading about fantasy tales and mythology. She seems so serious all the time, has a very potent gaze — hence the fear of disturbing her. She intrigues him like no one else does. Aemond encourages Aeron, as it seems they have common ground and he can use that to his advantage. Aemond suggests that, if speaking seems too daunting of a task, he could start by passing her notes while they’re both at the library. Be respectful and playful, comment on the things she’s reading.

It works like a charm. Aeron goes to Aemond all happy and is like, “Kepa!!!! You are a genius!!! It worked!! What do I do now!????” And Aemond is sooo so pleased and giddy, and he ends up coaching his son all through the initial, awkward little period before Aeron starts courting her officially, and it ends up being smooth sailing from then on. He just needed that little push.

Safe to say, the rest of the ladies were utterly devastated the day Aeron Targaryen got married.

It doesn't take him too long to figure out what's wrong with Luna, even if she's shut herself down.

He comes up to her door, listening for any signs of crying or distress, "Luns, Bubba can I come in" he asks as he knocks on the door.

"Mhmhm sure Dad let me just put this away" her voice cracked as she tried not to give away anything to her dad because he didn't need to know.

Little did she know he hurt that little crack loud and clear, it hurt him that she was hurting, he opened the door it creaked as it opened bringing more of Luna's room into view, he made a mental note to oil the hinges later. "Hey love.. he asked inquisitively pausing when he saw her puffy red face "Have you been crying?" He asked.

"No!" she snaps out of frustration not releasing what she did until she snapped at him

Chris was taken aback by the way she reacted but he knew it wasn't on purpose. He padded over to her bed, her face covered in blankets. Hugging her lightly, taking a deep breath, taking a moment to calm down he looked at Luna with all the love in his and said "Don't lie to me, I care about you".

That just breaks the floodgates down, tears running rapidly down her face clouding her vision, the outline of her dad, and the blurry outline of a certain ginger and white patchy dog. She feels stupid, so stupid it's not even a reason to be this worked up over it, it's just classic Luna.

It was just a simple exam, just a simple f**king exam and she couldn't even wait for the result.

Turns out when she thought the next thing, she was thinking out loud, *I feel so stupid." She stuttered at the end, and then she thought *Nope I didn't just say that out loud stupid*. Her heart sank at the look on her dad's face. Here comes the spiel of boosting her confidence, it always works though.

"Luna, why would you say that, hmm?" He looked at her in disbelief.

It was getting destructive she was eating herself from the inside out with the thought she needed, out of her head.

"Because I am stupid! It's a stupid test result and I can't seem to not just do it normally, I have to pull a

'Classic Luna' she says mockingly, and overthink everything single. The thing I do!" She shouts, at what or who she didn't know.

He grabs her gently as she has her outburst into the general world, once again the gates break and the tears stream rapidly again.

"Shhh, hey hey... It's okay. It's okay sunshine. He whispers into her ear trying not to move her from where she's nestled in his neck. "It's okay, Luna you should never feel stupid for a situation that is out of your control, love you regardless of the result Bubba. Regardless of anything you are still my best girl, you are the best daughter. The smartest and most confident person in the world, and I know Scott would say you the best goddam niece ever too." He laughed as he tickled her lightly to get a smile out of her.

All in all, she's the smartest and sweetest girl he'll ever have the privilege of being a parent to, and that's all that matters to him.

Mikudemy agere au - Pure Heart Class headcanons!

(aka Shizuku Hinomori and five of the tiniest fellas in existence)

-Due to how relaxed and calm it is in this class, it's very common for these little guys to end up feeling small, it's just so cozy! A lot of them are a bit more nervous when it comes to being little around others though, but Miku is working to help them feel more comfortable!

-Ichika's age range is normally around 4-6, and she spends a lot of her time while little playing simple games with her plushies or listening to child-friendly Miku songs. She's relatively shy when it comes to regressing, but she's starting to come out of her shell more, and out of her class she tends to cling to Shizuku and Miku the most when she's small, alongside the other Leo/need members. Somewhat nervous when being a CG, but she's actually pretty good at it with how caring she can be.

-Shizuku doesn't regress that much, but when she does she's usually ~5-7. A very relaxed little one, content to just work on simple idol things or watch cartoons, though when she has others to play with pretend games are very prevalent. Airi and Shiho are the main ones she goes to when she's small, though she feels comfortable with the others in her class too. Again, she isn't little that often, but she loves helping out with the others! "Shizu-nee" is very loved by the tiny guys, she's so kind and gentle!

-Toya is the littlest out of this class, regressing to about 1-3. Very calm small one, give him a plushie and a paci and he'll be very happy. Quite cuddly, and absolutely loves being read to. Nervous regressing around most people that aren't Akito or Tsukasa, though he's slowly getting more comfortable with it. As a caregiver he might not seem that good at it, but he's actually able to make little ones quite happy, as if he's channeling the care he wished he received as an actual child.

-Emu, the most hyper of the Pure Heart kids! 3-5 age range, happy to be with pretty much everyone (except Mafuyu, she's kind of scared of Mafuyu >m<), but she loves being with the other WxS members and the Virtual Singers the most. Constantly running around the school, playing games and talking to everyone she sees, maybe getting into a little mischief. She always keeps a few plushies in her bag, just in case she or anyone else needs some comfort! Surprisingly good at being a caregiver, she's amazing at playing with and comforting tiny ones, they never leave without a smile when she's there!

-Kanade's range is typically around 3-5, though she can slip as young as two at times. Very calm and sleepy little one, content to just listen to music or cuddle one of her loveys. Attached at the hip with Miku when she's small in class, Do Not seperate them, outside of that Honami and the others in N25 are usually who she goes to. Seeing as she can hardly take care of herself, it's a bit rough for her to be a good caregiver for others, but she's doing her best!

-Nightcord Miku isn't that close to being a traditional CG (seeing as she's almost like a little sister to the Mikudemy students), but she's quite good at the job! She's always willing to play with any little ones, and she's good at calming them down if they're upset. Even though she doesn't really regress, she's almost seen as a fellow little one by the tiny guys, it's like the best of both worlds!

-Oddly calm when they're all little, usually parallel play is more abundant than doing so together, though it can happen! Simple games like hide and seek or playing pretend are common, not much more intense than that due to how little Toya and Kanade can be. Emu's more hyper nature clashes a bit with the other little ones, but they all still have fun regardless! Really, the only time there's any conflict is if things get too noisy, or when Emu's the only one refusing to take a nap-

-At first glance they're the littlest of the classes (second smallest once the Cautious Heart kids feel more comfortable with being more open about agere-), which only adds to how other classes tend to feel the need to protect them. They're too innocent and calm for their own goods, so if you do anything bad to a Pure Heart kid expect the entire academy to be out to get you. Especially the Solid Heart Class kids, they'd do anything for their tiny guys!

thinking hard on mr. coach "if a relationship lasts longer than five minutes, it loses its flavor" beard...being right by ted's side for at least since college. which, given clues, is probably about thirty years. who canonically bounces from relationship to relationship, but (according to brendan hunt's q&a session) chose within three days to follow ted to london. how he's notorious for being single, and letting his competitiveness or whatever end relationships..........("i did it again." "before the game before the dame?" "yep." "when're you gonna learn, coach?")

but that doesn't happen with ted.

beard might've yelled at ted for his "selfish" acts/his own desire to win...but...he's still there. he still showed up to work the next morning, right beside ted, like nothing ever happened. because the same reasons why beard left romantic relationships before isn't enough for him to leave ted's side.

how...the biggest threat to their relationship isn't anything platonic. it's a romantic dynamic beard has found himself in. because beard having a romantic partner is the only thing that would distract him from ted. not another friend, not a job, not anything other than...a romantic partner. ROMANCE is the biggest threat to their relationship, and it's on beard's end.

brendan "beard would follow ted into hell" hunt saying that beard's more focused on being with ted than nurturing his own relationship....yeah.

that ted saved him, so he'll always be there...and the reason he's not is because he fell in love with --- someone other than ted. like beard falling in love is the one thing keeping him from paying attention to all of ted's struggles...presumably like he would back in kansas. because from episode one we see him worry about ted. episode two we see him noticing the shaking hands, so he tries to calm ted down before it can turn into a full fledged panic attack. and now beard is changing, and yeah...for the worse, because he's in love with jane. because that abuse is poisoning him, and this time, ted isn't saving him and fixing him, because ted can't right now. hm.

beard loves ted. and he loves jane. and those two loves are driving factors for beard's character...because they are the most important people in his life. jane thinks ted's a threat to her, and honestly...she's probably right for thinking that. not that she's going about this correctly, but she's not necessarily wrong for locking on that ted is extremely important to beard. because he is. before she entered the picture, ted was his most loved. he dropped everything because ted asked him to. he doesn't do relationships, but he'd follow ted anywhere he ever asked him to. he's competitive, and that's lost him partners...but ted's still there.

ted is the most important person in beard's life, regardless of what romance beard is having. he just needs to realize that, and find his way back to ted's side where he belongs. brendan says that beard is a rock for ted, that he's full of love...and right now, that love is so misplaced. he's giving it all to jane, when it's ted who got it first.

Another Yew Branch offset Idea - Desmond reborn as Federico/Claudia.

So this would have a similar premise to Little Sparrow. Let’s start with what they both have in common:

Well, Desmond’s going to try and keep the timeline the same as usual… at the start

He’ll soon start to fuck shit up because he comes to love the Auditores like his own family and he can’t… watching Ezio growing up, growing up with Ezio… seeing the smiles and innocence he’d soon lose… he can’t do it. He can’t let Ezio suffer through that tragedy again. He can’t let his family suffer

Soooo… remember how Desmond had to suffer through the pain of replacing Petruccio in Little Sparrow? How he believed he has done something truly horrible and he had taken somebody else’s place? That’s what’s going to happen here. Not only that but he would feel that he’s always less than Federico or Claudia had been.

He’ll definitely be more rebellious in this scenario but his rebellious streak would appear differently depending on who he has been reborn as.

And he'll be a complete mama's boy/girl regardless because Maria Auditore is just awesome (and has a less complicated relationship with Desmond)

What if Desmond has been reborn as Federico?

In this scenario, Desmond would dote on his younger siblings, especially Ezio.

Everyone would see that Ezio is his favorite and Ezio would be proud of it.

Desmond would also feel more ‘at peace’ with dying in Federico’s place in this one.

But, at the same time, his love for this family would be the one to finally get him to break away from what is supposed to happen.

He will definitely break away a bit later, maybe two years before the day the Auditores are meant to be executed.

In this scenario, Desmond would definitely show his displeasure over Giovanni’s loyalty to Lorenzo and it will be a source of conflict between them. Giovanni tells Desmond that he will understand when he grows older why allying with the Medici is the right thing to do for the Assassins. Desmond knows that it makes them complicit and blind to the Medici’s own shortcomings.

This is also a branch where Desmond has a high chance of just going off script and taking down the Templars before they can make trouble. Perhaps not all of them but definitely the ones in Firenze.

Desmond would be going against Giovanni’s orders more often than not because of their conflicting loyalty (Giovanni to Lorenzo and in keeping Firenze safe and stable, Desmond just going for the kills without thinking about what would happen if he kills influential and powerful people)

Whether they end up repairing their relationship as father or son really depends on Giovanni’s priorities because the whole Medici thing is something Desmond isn’t willing to compromise on. Not when it compromises their family.

What if Desmond has been reborn as Claudia?

This one is more complicated.

For one, Desmond wouldn’t necessarily act like how a noblewoman would act.

This includes joining Federico and Ezio with their shenanigans.

There would be rumors of how unwomanly she is and she would be called ‘Messere Claude’ behind her back as some kind of derogatory petname.

This being Desmond, she ignores it.

But her brother won’t and they’ll get into fights because of it.

Desmond will also be close with Petruccio since they’re close in age and she and Petruccio spend a lot of time indoors because Desmond doesn’t have any friends thanks to his ‘peculiarities’.

Desmond also likes to wear Ezio’s clothes and the only thing stopping her from actually cutting her hair is Maria’s love for her hair.

Giovanni wouldn’t train her even though he knows that Desmond is the most skilled of his children. He’s still hoping she would ‘calm down’ and find better hobbies.

Oh and Duccio? He spread a rumor that he had sex with Desmond but Desmond beat the crap out of him so bad the doctors fear he will never have children ever.

Desmond is like… the black sheep of the Florence nobility but she’s also one of the most entertaining topics, that’s for sure. A lot of young men and women definitely have a crush on her.

Desmond’s the reason why the Auditores wouldn’t be captured although they would need to leave Firenze.

Giovanni wanted her, Maria, and Petruccio to go to Spain where they will be safer but Desmond was like “fuck that” and demanded she be an Assassin.

Giovanni, seeing her skills and the look in her eyes that just screams ‘if you say no, I’m going to do something you’re gonna fucking regret’, finally relents.

However…

Giovanni has Ezio and Federico keep an eye on her just to be safe.

In this case, AC2 and Brotherhood’s plot becomes a three-man job for the Auditore children.

And Petruccio takes care of the books back in Monteriggioni XD

House party scenes 4/5: Judy and Viktor and V

Okay, so, when I set up the birthday party pics and started thinking about interesting character constellations, I didn't think of these three at first but... it makes sense tbh!

All three of them grew up in/near Night City. They know its worst sides better than most who came here later in life, but they all deal very differently with living here.

Judy does by trying to change things for the better, but she almost destroys herself in the process. There is no changing Night City, not by herself, not even with help, and not in a timeframe that would make her happy. And so, the best thing for her is to leave, before the city swallows her whole like it did so many others.

The "tradition" she's referencing in this little scene is a headcanon I have for her and Vince. Occasionally throughout the game they would meet up just to chat, because for the longest time, V feels like she's the only person he can openly talk to. Since Judy often sees things differently from him or at least offers different perspectives, their conversations are quite enlightening. On one of those evenings they end up just shouting out their frustrations from the rooftop of Judy's apartment building and give Night City the middle finger (I have an old VP shoot of this that I never posted, I really wanna redo it XD).

On the polar opposite side is Viktor, who is one of those people who managed just stick around forever and somehow made it to an older age in Night City. They're not consumed by it but became a part of it. Viktor's accepted that he'll never make it big, that he'll never change anything about the way things work. Some may call it resignation, but I think he'd say it's adaption. He is content in his situation, has his reliable job and income and circle of acquaintances, that's all he needs. Yeah, sure, he still sees the worst side of the city regardless, he sees people like Jackie and V come and go, die way too young for nothing, and I think he has grown a bit numb to it all. It's just a part of life in this town, one of the worst, but he knows fighting it would be in vain, so he makes the best out of it all.

Vince is somewhere in-between the two. He has this kind of toxic love-hate relationship with Night City. It's his home, there's so many good and happy memories attached to so many of its corners. It's a breathtaking city that keeps catching him off guard with its beauty, and to a thrill-seeker like him it also never ever gets boring, and he loves it for all that. Still though, he hates Night City's dark sides as much as anyone with some basic human decency would, although he is also beginning to grow a bit numb to it all - his time at Arasaka definitely contributing majorly to it. He tried leaving the city once, in his early 20s, because there were just too many shadows chasing him at the time. But he ended up with the worst homesickness and returned after just a few months. He can't live with it, neither without it, always trying to find his place somewhere. He's making the best out of what the city's throwing at him, hoping that, even if he can't change the city as a whole, he can at least impact a few lives in a positive way. In his mind, Night City offers opportunities to someone like him that he couldn't find anywhere else (or so he thinks at least), and it's why he could not picture himself leaving it again at this point in time, at least not permanently.
