Some Magpie Folklore
In order to ward off bad luck, greet the sight of a lone Pica pica with the words: ‘Good morning, Mr Magpie, how are Mrs Magpie and all the other little magpies?’
The magpie was the only bird that refused to enter Noah’s Ark, perching instead on the the top of the roof.
In the days of cock-fighting, fowl eggs were sometimes placed in a magpie’s nest in the belief that the young would absorb their foster-parents’ agression.
Arguably, no other form of ancient bird lore is recited on such a regular basis as the old rhyme relating to seeing lots of magpies together which many believe goes:
One for sorrow
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret left untold.

Poem-A-Day Challenge, Day #11
Wingless
I fell into the sky,
Don't ask me how,
Ask me why.
Up and down,
High or low;
Simply turn around,
Change perspective,,
And suddenly
It seems so easy
To turn falling
Into flying.

The Lucky Penny
There once was a little girl Jenny,
and Jenny had a lucky penny.
She held it way up high,
so it shined in the sky.
This penny she found in the street,
right after dropping her sweet.
A moment later, she got some more candy,
and so she declared, “This penny is quite handy!”
One day she was walking to school
when she happened across a deep pool.
Kneeling down on the dirt, she looked for a shell,
but leaned too far, and into the pool she fell.
And that was the story of Jenny,
who relied too much on her penny.
She thought it would save her,
but really it gave her,
a life that will never be complete.

I don’t write… I imagine a million words, a billion different worlds. It’s hard to believe, hard to see, staring at a billion different screens. Action-cut-scene. Let the AIs write history, while we play in the make believe….

*Hunger’s ryhme*
“Two monsters in the corridor, hungry and broken… your friends are gone, you have no one… time has left without a trace, and forever trapped, within this place… there is no where to run, no where to hide… the end is nigh, say goodbye…”

This Room of Mirrors
Inside the glass, I see your face,
My fingers, your fingers, a circle we trace.
All this room, yet I carry no space,
A million silver walls, lines that we’ll never erase.
I crash to my knees, I stumble and crawl,
A joyous smile, one I do not recall.
Reflection in the pane, at the window I stall,
All of it the beginning, right before I fall.
And here I stay, with you and with me,
What is it that you truly see?
I am not in your reflection, yet I’ll never quite be,
For in this room of mirrors, we’ll never be free.

approach to insecurity?
topic of the day -- how to deal with immense insecurity
i find working multiple jobs quite helpful; it makes me feel less worried when i did something wrong at work because if i get fired i still have other jobs to cover my living
likewise, i diversify my investments so that if one goes wrong i wont just go broke
then.. how about relationship?
so i have serious abandonment issue, does the strategy also apply to this scenario? date multiple guys and when i lost one, i still have others.. never feel lonely again right?!
wroooooooooooong it'll only make me more miserable; relationship always works differently because human beings are complex
my childhood dream of sleeping around in adulthood will never come true (this is the part where i sign why i'm not a dude)

A dirty limerick about bread
Remember this
if you need to get bread
Blame white toast
for getting crumbs in your bed
