I saw a take that if bow was intended to be bi from the start and not see glimmer as a sibling, he'd have flirted with her during the show, and he'd have also fallen in love with adora, because "he flirted with sea hawk in s1 so why never with the two girls who are always around him?"

Ah yeah, because bi people always fall in love with every single person they meet. Airtight logic. So awkward for me to go to the grocery store, can't even get through the produce aisle without falling in love with everyone I pass!

And Bow does not flirt with Sea Hawk? He is crushing on him, sure, but no actual flirting goes on? Do people on the internet not know what flirting is? It is teasing with a romantic intent? There is plenty of flirting in the show but none of it comes from Bow. I can't think of a single time Bow openly flirts with anyone except maybe when he winks at Glimmer and calls her "princess" in the third episode and I think he's just goofing around.

Our literal first glimpse of Bow in the entire show is him sending Glimmer note on which he has doodled hearts on all the open space and drawn a picture of himself winking. Sometimes I wonder if these people who say Glimbow acted like siblings actually have siblings. Either that or they are living in a Folgers commercial.

And I guess the argument this person is trying to make is that Bow was into Sea Hawk so therefore he never showed any interest in women during Season One-- the season where he goes on an entire whole ass date with a woman who gave him a literal flower crown in the bi flag colors-- and that is so breathtakingly stupid I don't feel the need to dignify it.

Listen, I've said this before. It's easy to get caught up in everything with the show and miss Glimbow on the first viewing. I get it. Saying you missed it at first? Totally valid. But its consistently built up starting in the first episode with moments that parallel Catradora, woven right into the themes of the show the entire time, so sticking your head in the sand and pretending it's not there just because you don't like it is clown behavior.

Sometimes I wish people in fandom realized they can just say they don't like this pairing and move on. They don't have to concoct an entire alternate universe where the fact that this couple they don't like ending up together is part of a vast global conspiracy against them personally. They just make fools of themselves and, frankly, its embarrassing for the rest of us have to watch.
