Sgomma, l'Inter. Fa il giro veloce, va in fuga, è imprendibile. È implacabile. Cinque gol sul campo del Monza, cinque gol che sono una dimostrazione di forza e concentrazione. Gioca alla grande, la squadra di Inzaghi, fin dal fischio d'inizio. Produce una quantità enorme di occasioni: 20 tiri, 11 da dentro l'area avversaria, sono il dato che certifica un dominio totale iniziato in avvio di gara e certificato dal sigillo finale di Thuram. Sui tre punti ci sono le firme di Calhanoglu (alla sua prima doppietta in Serie A), Lautaro (doppietta e quota 18 in campionato, in 18 partite) e Thuram appunto. Ma anche lo zampino di un onnipresente Mkhitaryan, di Dimarco, di tutti. Tre punti che aprono le porte alla trasferta in Arabia Saudita, dove venerdì l'Inter affronterà la Lazio nella semifinale della Supercoppa Italiana. Dove, se non Monza, per una partenza a tutta velocità. Semaforo verde e via, l'Inter si butta a tutta, come se invece dello U-Power Stadium il palcoscenico fosse l'Autodromo. Non c'è tempo nemmeno per arrivare alla prima chicane che Dimarco già fa le prove generali per il gol. È una marea compatta, quella nerazzurra, che travolge il Monza in un avvio di partita davvero a senso unico. La squadra di Palladino non regge i giri dell'Inter, che avanza con tanti uomini. Avvolge dalle fasce, trova inserimenti e palloni importanti in area. In 10 minuti le occasioni sono già tante, compresa quella che spalanca il match. La mano di Gagliardini sul colpo di testa di Lautaro configura - grazie al VAR - il rigore che Calhanoglu trasforma, per un vantaggio mai così meritato. Vantaggio subito ribadito, sottolineato, dal raddoppio: l'azione è d'applausi, lanciata da una giocata da campione a centrocampo di De Vrij e poi via, Mkhitaryan per Dimarco, fino al centro di Lautaro. Monza alle corde, incapace di reagire. Trova, solo alla mezz'ora, la palla che può rimettere in discussione il match: è un gol di Pessina, di testa, in mischia. L'arbitro annulla, grazie al VAR: off-side, millimetrico, del centrocampista. Resta il doppio vantaggio, resta il predominio territoriale dell'Inter, che cannoneggia di continuo dalle parti di Sorrentino, senza trovare il tris. Non va in testacoda, la squadra di Inzaghi. Concentrata, focalizzata a chiudere il match, nonostante il tentativo di Palladino di dare una forma diversa al secondo tempo, grazie a un 4-4-2 più quadrato e coperto. Al 15' con una ripartenza straordinaria l'Inter segna il 3-0: la palla è mossa alla grande, il tacco finale di Thuram per servire Calhanoglu è un regalo difficile da non scartare. Per il turco nono gol in campionato e prima doppietta della carriera in Serie A. Finita? No, perché il Monza ha uno scatto di orgoglio: prima dice no al poker di Pavard grazie a un miracolo di Sorrentino, poi si conquista un rigore e lo segna, con Pessina. Mancano più di venti minuti e può iniziare un nuovo match, perché per qualche minuto la squadra di casa prova il massimo sforzo. Produce un tiro dalla distanza di Kyriakopoulos, e poco più. Le forze fresche nerazzurre producono ancora calcio offensivo. Frattesi si procura il rigore del 4-1, segnato da un grande Lautaro: 18 gol in 18 presenze per il capocannoniere del campionato. Alla festa del gol manca solo un nome: Marcus Thuram, imprendibile, generoso, fortissimo. Segna all'88', su invito di Mkhitaryan, dopo un grand dribbling e un sinistro preciso. 5-1, si vola al traguardo in una notte a forti, fortissime, tinte nerazzurre.
