Over the last week, I decided to go ahead with bookmarking all the fics I've recommended over the years on AO3 since I abide by tumblr poll results always (and man pour one out for all the fic that never made it to AO3 or has since been deleted, sooooo many gems lost to time!) and it was a bit more than the ~3,000 I was expecting:
Tumblr media
Hopefully, this will be easier than browsing the hundreds of recs posts I've made, since you can filter for any of the author's tags now! These are mostly focused on Star Wars and DC fandom, but I did my time in the anime mines and occasional tours through some TV fandoms or movies. You can dig into everything unfiltered and start your own filtering, or the bigger fandoms you'll find:
MAJOR FANDOMS: Each of these should have 100+ at minimum and, in the case of Star Wars, literally almost half of them are in that fandom. Look, Star Wars fandom might be a trash fire in a lot of ways, but it is ON FIRE with some good fic. (Older bookmarks not guaranteed to match my current sentiments, especially re: the Jedi, but they did catch my fancy at that point in time!)
STAR WARS: - All Star Wars -OR- All Star Wars minus the Obi-Wan/Anakin ship - OR- Nothing BUT Obi-Wan/Anakin
BATMAN/DC: - DC can sometimes be tricky, but you can do a Batman* search and get most of them (though, sometimes Nightwing* or Young Justice* or Superman* will catch some of the others). Honestly, though, you might want to just do a search for what character or dynamic you like and have fun from there, because otherwise you're getting a face full of my Dick Grayson Is The Center Of The Universe And I'm Making That Everyone Else's Problem agenda. ;)
MARVEL/MCU: - Marvel* will probably get most of the various properties, though you may want to filter for Defenders* or Guardians of the Galaxy* if you're interested -OR- Marvel* without the Thor/Loki - These focus a lot on the Thor* fandom if you want to witness the results of like 8 years of constant voracious reading in that fandom (Minus the ship), because, seriously, I read a LOT of Odinson family fic. - Bonus, just do a search for Maximoff* to find some really good X-Men: First Class-verse because, listen, I have been ALL ABOUT the Maximoff twins since long before the movies or MCU brought them over and I will DIE ON THE HILL of "Marvel, make Magneto their bio-dad again or I'm never reading another comic of yours ever".
TOLKIEN/LORD OF THE RINGS/SILMARILLION/HOBBIT: - Tolkien* -OR- Hobbit* -OR- Lord of the Rings* searches will turn up most of my Elf-hunting, I primarily focus on the Sindar Elves, but look I can't resist my problematic Feanorian faves or that I will die on the hill that Fingolfin is the best ever. (You have NO IDEA how sad I am that so much fic on Stories of Arda or FFNET is not easily bookmarked on AO3, sob. I externally bookmarked a few of the bigger ones, but sooo many shorter faves are missing from my recs tag.)
CLAMP: - X/Tokyo Babylon legitimately bums me out because it's not a huge fandom and yet so much of what was written was pre-AO3 and lost when CLAMPesque went down or was never brought over from Livejournal, yet this fandom (well, the Seishirou/Subaru pairing) still burns brightly in my heart.
MINOR FANDOMS: Ones that probably only have under 100 bookmarks (often around the 20-30 bookmarks range), but will at least give you a place to start! ANIME/MANGA: Bleach | Cardcaptor Sakura | Dragonball | Finder no Hyouteki/Viewfinder | Katekyou Hitman Reborn! | Kuroko no Basuke | One Piece | Sailor Moon | Madoka Magica | Naruto | Princess Tutu | Trigun | Weiss Kreuz | Yuri!!! on Ice
BOOKS: Chrestomanci | Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint
DRAMAS: Nirvana in Fire | The Untamed -OR- Modao Zu Shi
TV SHOWS/MOVIES: Community | Game of Thrones -OR- ASOIAF | Good Omens | Hannibal | Highlander | The Old Guard | Our Flag Means Death | Stranger Things
VIDEO GAMES: Dragon Age: Inquisition | Final Fantasy 8 | Genshin Impact | Okami
BANDS: Arashi
All right, whew, that was actually a fun project, despite how much work it was to hunt down a lot of older faves to see if they were on AO3, hopefully you'll find this useful!

5 things i'm able to rant about for an hour without preparation, or, the brainworms tag game
thank u @thirstyforred ☺️
-
i think i'm quite predictable, but lemme try
1. yeah, this one takes the top spot here too, surprising nobody. the witcher, text, lore, metatext. or however it's called when the writer had a goal and we all have to live with his increasingly more nonsensical way of reaching it. everything about it makes me go insane and what perhaps the most is the way people - and i now mostly mean writers other than Sapek - handle the material after him. the good and the bad. these books and whatever came out of them thematically touch me like nothing else does and i can't imagine a world where the attachment i have to it all didn't exist. an hour would barely suffice to get started.
2. art and art history. obviously, so i don't have to type a whole lot here. i always did it, i studied it, it's a fundamental part of me. if we ever go to a museum, give me something to chew on so i don't yap the whole way through.
3. meteorology. i just think they're neat meme but it's clouds and our atmosphere. it's a bit deeper than that though, i grew up in a gliding environment and this was an omnipresent, crucial part of it. my interest in severe weather resparked a couple years ago so now here i am, running out of the house whilst sick to take pictures of a thunderstorm. don't ask me about tornadoes.
4. the elder scrolls, with the clarification that i am very very far from actually knowledgeable about it. but it, for me, exists in a funnily similar place as the witcher when it comes to including ideas and themes, but also author and intent in how i look at these works. this would lead me to a whole tangent on how nothing exists in a vacuum and triple A videogame writing, probably. i really enjoy creating characters in this universe, maybe more than any other (they don't know i have like 30 tes ocs...), but keep the brainworms in check on purpose because if i cared about another thing at the mercy of corporate interest as much as i already do about that one, i think not even touching grass could help me.
5. i'm not sure if this is the best descriptor or if it deserves its own spot but...people? fandoms and cliques, how art is perceived and treated. how class and classism play into that. i feel strongly about these things because i find people fascinating and spend too much time on the internet, but i'm also who i am and interacting with people will sometimes inevitably make me ponder these things. it's why i put "theme shitaboutgiver" in my bio here tho so i guess gamers give me enough of a headache to warrant a spot on this list.
i also wanna know what vexes the rest of strays so consider yourselves tagged frens 🌼

Hi there! Short time appreciator of your stuff (I found you a few months ago + love your style sm!!) first time asker, and this might be an odd one, but do you have any suggestions for how to get involved with the furry community? Just, where to meet folk, maybe what to keep an eye out for (good or bad!) and such? I'd love to chat to folk and such but I'm just a very nervous person ^^;
You don't have to post or answer this if you don't want to! But thank you for all the cool art and the funny memes, I love seeing Sebastian with assorted snacks ^-^ you take care!!
aaA thank you!!
i'll be honest i personally skirt around the edge of the community because i too am a shy creature that emerges only every waning moon to hand people artwork
depending on the involvement level you want, you've got a number of options. a lot of people are still active on twitter, and mastodon and cohost seem to be picking up! i know mastodon has a few furry instances, such as meow.social, though I don't use mastodon that much so I cannot say if the community there is good, bad, or otherwise. same goes for cohost. last i checked it's very much so a twitter clone, but many furries i've noticed have skipped over there. pillowfort.social has a small Furry Artists community. if in doubt, there's also /r/furry on reddit.
if you just want to appreciate art and maybe comment every now and again, tumblr is pretty good. sure the tags can be a little broken sometimes, but at least you'll find the content you're looking for when you look up Furry in the search. same goes for deviantart and furaffinity, ofc depending on your interests you may have to dig around a little to get to the content / art style you specifically like. both tumblr and twitter i find are somewhat good at recommending similar artists if you follow some. sometimes there’s a recommended that pops up after you hit follow on the profile on twitter or a “blogs like these” section on tumblr, so there’s that.
telegram and discord are still popular as ever, though i feel finding a Good chat can be a herculean task. the r/furry reddit mentioned above has both telegram and discord [both sfw].
it’s super likely there’s a local / regional furry group for your area. some meet irl, even! most of these groups have telegram chats or discords if you want to meet people closer to home. of course there's also the Countless furry conventions going on too
it all depends on your social level as an individual. you can dip your toes in just by commenting on and following other furries, or opt to attend meetups and conventions and meet people in person
as for things to stay away from, the two biggest problems i want to mention are:
furry raiders. an alt-right furry group.
people with the zeta symbol “ζ“ in their bio /  name. now, the presence of a symbol isn’t always indicative of someone’s affiliation with something, so use discretion; but the zeta symbol is often used by people who are zoosadists / into be*stiality. these people are not furries, they don’t represent what the community is about, and everyone hates them. we can and will call the authorities on these people for animal abuse. if you see someone telling “zoos” to fuck off, there’s a 99.9999% chance these are the people that person is talking about.
these aren’t the only issues of course, but i feel they’re the most prominent ones. also maybe be wary of people who constantly say things like “no politics uwu” - especially if they turn it into some furry pun like “pawlitics”. maybe i personally have just had too many uncomfortable interactions with people like this and now i’m biased, but i’ve grown to never trust that.
apologies, i’m a bit of a hermit in online spaces and can’t offer anything more specific. if anyone has cooler recommendations they’re welcome to add them in the replies / reblogs!!

get to know the author!
name : angie
pronouns :  she/her
preference of communication : i honestly prefer to start off on tumblr ims and then migrate to discord if we get to chatting/plotting! tbh i've been so bad with communicating this year and finally getting better at it (and better at being active in general! so come hit me up!)
most active muse :  chey! she's been my main babe since 2013 and she's not going anywhere. i used to always feel bad that my main focus was on her, but not anymore tbh. she's unapologetically my fav.
experience / how many years :  oh man, i've been writing since the dawn of time. i used to write privately with friends back in the day through e-mail, polyvore, MYSPACE! literally anywhere and everywhere. i didn't find tumblr rp until 2013.
best experience : i have to say wholeheartedly some of my best memories come from the 2013-2014 years and that's largely thanks to @mutatedangels! the summer was full of nights where i'd stay up writing and plotting until the sun rose the next day. it was so fun being giddy over ships and having a blast writing whatever we wanted.
rp pet peeves : refusing to write with certain faces or being too rigid with rules in general. i also never really like when someone chases a face and has no interest in what the actual character is like. i totally get preferences, but sometimes it just feels a little crazy to be so strict with certain rules that really don't matter at the end of the day. it's tumblr rp, we're all here for fun!
fluff, angst, or smut : i'm a sucker for fluff & angst. i love anything that brings on strong emotions! i'm not against smut, and in fact really love the idea of it when i have a great ship - i just SUCK at it. and i get bored writing it pretty quickly. but again, not against it!
plots or memes : oh plots for sure. most of the time i don't really need a big plot, i just like a connection to build off of. almost all my muses have a set bio, stats, etc so sometimes i can't make them work for a specific meme bc it doesn't make sense for them. there's only a few characters of mine that i'm willing to change for the sake of a meme or plot.
long or short replies : i'm a sucker for long replies. i don't always need them to be SUPER long, though i tend to get carried away. i pretty much can NEVER write under a paragraph- so one liners are a no-go for me.
time to write : mostly at night, but sometimes i get some inspo when i have desk time at work and i'll crank out a few replies (or do something like this 😈)
are you like your muses : i have a lot of the same interests as some of my muses! i made a lot of my muses BECAUSE of those interests of mine. sometimes my life experiences inspire me for a character. for instance, i used to be in the film industry and hated it. but i knew someone like chey would LOVE it. so, little things like that! but there's no muse of mine that is quite like me.

12/29/23 Hasan Piker said to please defend him more, finally I have been given the permission I need to sephiroth post. Late Christmas Early New Year Miracle!!!! Drama frog rejoice
(cross posting from reddit)
Hi long time lurker. And look, this is a page about HASAN PIKER. This is the place for what I'm about to do, I'm a girl with a bunch of interests and sometimes those interests intersect in ways I just sit on for years cause quite honestly I'm using "girl" v loosely and I'm 31 woman and I know what "cringe" is because I wrote the book, so I just kinda shit post in comments on twitter to release the stress of being a fan of Hasan, and I don't have a twitter anymore, so I thought I was just going to have to die on this.
But finally, on this day I was watching a clip from the 12-29-23 at 4 in the morning cause I got off work early (https://youtu.be/kMwQQmVMcAw?si=XhjWf6R_O5UgH9MX&t=294) and I got all I need to let out about 4 years of built up Hasan drama. So mods, Daddy said I could so please please please don't delete this. This is perfect fodder on who to block personally and as I will elaborate, I done my time in this community, just let me have my soap box.
Who am I and what give me this authority? (a disclaimer) As stated above I'm up at 4 am, and this is "off early", I work nightshift factory job in middle america who's worked there for 10 years with a long side story I will not bore you with. I found Hasan when he did the breakdown on fb and just liked the way he broke down the news. Is he a perfect person? No. There are many things I wish he didn't do. (Hoobastank) But on the whole, solid person who's world view is refreshing to listen to and I don't lose sleep in supporting my like in him because he tries to be ethical with his spending and its like $5, come on, I can spend $5 to enjoy myself ad free at that top of the hour if I want. I work 12 hour shifts.
But as I said, I work 12 hours, and where Hasan sometimes makes 10 hours of content, I also have other interests and sometimes I'm doing that, sometimes I'm a drama girlie (and it's super sexist if you judge me), sometimes I'm a goblin. And boy howdy how I wish the drama girlies would rally around Hasan because he's chill with QT and Rae, cause then I wouldn't have to do this myself. But alas, we must all sometimes be the change we want to see in the world, and the drama girlies don't know about this filth, so here I am. Youtube channel-less and angry. So I'm gonna vent about the latest drama here for a moment cause I've been sitting on this need since Hasan's biggest mistake, befriend the worlds more admired online deadbead father since Onision, Steven Kenneth Bonnell II (wiki).
The Meat and Potatoes (If you don't want my auto-bio but wanna be a drama goblin with me) I find it ABSOLUTELY INSANE that ANYONE in the dgg orbit thinks they get to get their fucking panties in a twist over "edgy jokes" like mocking Claira "Harassed a woman over a tweet about a cookbook for two years" Sorrenti doing cocaine with a Road Runner gif when she went on a very public bender and harassed every fucking person she could and hides behind being a fucking addict instead of showing even a drop of remorse for her action past the "I want to keep my job and keep calling myself the one true leftist so I'm sorry uwu" video/clip from a stream she didn't even have the time to do on its own, I don't remember but I watched it and she was full of shit cause I don't believe the cocaine bender was 2 years, aka the amount of time she harassed Roslyn Talusan, unless those "tasty noodles" has the flour subbed out with cocaine.
"Oh but but but Hasan said the r slur that one time" harks the orbitor. oh, wow. The community where if I even could edit there is no program around that could make a montauge of the amoung of time even one of your favs has said it, and Hasan has, say it with me, changed and tries not to be a fucking asshole, something you orbitor fucks could never understand. And the most insane of it all is the worse thing you could list of things Hasan REALLY did and has shown zero remorse for, beside the cracker thing, they cheered gleefully because they liked his more dirtbag shit. Hasan having the most unhinged reaction to being asked to not do a fundraiser with Hogwarts Legacy for the trans community, I've never seen them gargle balls harder. WHY?? Cause they wanted to bully Jessie Gender, a truly respectable person.
That was the only real thing. (a bit tongue in cheek I'm too high and this is much longer than I planned on he has done some other things. but they were mouth to sack there too)
"Oh but he was wrong about RUSSIA!!!!!" Do you fire the weather person for being wrong? Shut up.
So to all of them, either get a real job other than being the most annoying online cult or hurry up and drink the coolaid or whatever your own cults endgame is. I've blocked you and you're still leaking through. Idk. Idc. Just leave Hasan Piker Alone.

Travel Documents 129: Bang Bang Bodhisattva
Tumblr media
by Aubrey Wood
Genre:  sci-fi, near-future, cyberpunk, bio-punk
Publication Date: May 9 Pre-Order At This Link
The Dust Cover Copy
Someone wants trans girl hacker-for-hire Kiera Umehara in prison or dead—but for what? Failing to fix their smart toilet?
It’s 2032 and we live in the worst cyberpunk future. Kiera is gigging her ass off to keep the lights on, but her polycule’s social score is so dismal they’re about to lose their crib. That’s why she's out here chasing cheaters with Angel Herrera, a luddite P.I. who thinks this is The Big Sleep. Then the latest job cuts too deep—hired to locate Herrera’s ex-best friend (who’s also Kiera’s pro bono attorney), they find him murdered instead. Their only lead: a stick of Nag Champa incense dropped at the scene.
Next thing Kiera knows, her new crush turns up missing—sans a hand (the real one, not the cybernetic), and there’s the familiar stink of sandalwood across the apartment. Two crimes, two sticks of incense, Kiera framed for both. She told Herrera to lose her number, but now the old man might be her only way out of this bullshit...
A fast-talker with a heart of gold, Bang Bang Bodhisattva is both an odd-couple buddy comedy that never knows when to shut up, and an exploration of finding yourself and your people in an ever-mutable world.
Quick heads up: this book is in pre-release, so this is a spoiler-free review. There’s more depth I’d love to dig into, but I’m hands-off until more folks have read it!
The Scene
Tumblr media
Worldbuilding
Hooooo BOY. Buckle up. Here we go.
A high-octane story in the cultural tradition of Snow Crash, Minority Report and Blade Runner, Bang Bang gives folks in the queer community what they’ve been waiting for: a look at the cyberpunk world through their eyes.
In worldbuilding, Wood has taken cues from all your favorite wouldn’t-live-there-if-you-paid-me futures: the tech that argues with you has shades of The Fifth Element, the use of bionics and implants is reminiscent of Repo Man. And the harsh reality of gigging for a living and running on ice? Well that, we’re living right now. Mixed together, they make for a world I really enjoyed reading, but definitely don’t want to visit.
The Crowd
Tumblr media
Characterization
Wisecracking, fast-moving Kiera is the POV character we’ve been waiting for. She’s clever, quick-tongued, a little bit of a spaz and an absolute sweetheart. She’s the type of quick-thinking trans girl who’ll yell ‘I got a dick!’ when a skeez wolf-whistles, just to watch him walk into a wall. She’s thirty years old, sick of the grind, and sweet-natured under the armor her world impels her to wear. Her foil is Angel Hererra. No wait, sorry, he changed that name, and that face, to get the world to give him a bit less of a hard time. It sort of worked…sort of. But it cut him off from part of himself too. And that’s never a good thing. On their side are a clever assortment of allies: the android studying law, the classy dame with all the threads to the underworld in her hand, and the indentured servant who really just wanted a better life. Underpinning the story is the sweet support of Kiera’s polycule, waiting at home with snuggles and bingeable TV. Cueing up the ominous music for this piece are Detective Flynn, who gives new meaning to being a dick, and several other impressive baddies. The characters, even those who aren’t fleshed out, are well-written and interesting. The ones who get more time on the page are rounded into wonderfully whole people. Most of them don’t fit society’s definition of ‘people’ for some reason. And with every move, they prove why they should.
Writing Style
Tumblr media
Fast paced and sometimes brutal, this work is full of bright one-liners and witty zings. Like it says on the dust cover, it definitely has echoes of The Big Sleep going on, along with Snow Crash and similar zany takes on a dark future. But the author pulls on this setting like a favorite coat and wears it with style, making it fresh. I particularly enjoyed the showcasing of authority using legalism as a weapon against people who don’t fit: it’s a nasty part of the LGBT and minority experience that needs to be addressed. But I enjoyed watching our characters find their way around it even more!
The Moves
Tumblr media
Plot
I’ll say this up front: I was not expecting these twists and turns. And I bet you won’t see what’s coming either, not until it’s right on top of you! Or, in most cases, right on top of Kiera. Poor kid.
(cue Kiera shouting ‘I’m thirty, dammit!’ in the background) In the classic neo-noir style, you have your crime, you have your slueth, and you have your unknown criminal. But the twists and turns that take us from ‘oh crap a dead body’ to the last page are nothing like you expect, and everything you want to read.
Overall Rating
Tumblr media
A high-octane race through Cyberpunk City, with pit stops for queer love and solidarity.

Hey there! Do you happen to know what happened to agnesamarantheastwood/spidervee? I can’t find her posts anywhere 😭
Hello! I'm pretty certain she deleted her tumblr. I don't know the exact reason but I'm sure she knew what she was doing and looking out for her best interests. It is always a bummer when a writer you love suddenly disappears and takes their works with them but, sadly, that is the nature of the internet. Sometimes deleting is people's best options for their mental health (or any other reason they may have). I know it sucks and I'm sorry it happened :(
Here's some other authors I would like to recommend in an attempt to help fill your VeeVoid though:
@liz-allyn
Fellow dark fic enthusiast, fantastic writer, her work reads like professional fucking literature, she has a dark and fascinating brain that I want to live inside of. I highly recommend Heat of the Moment. I swear that fic broke me. I think about it daily. It truly is a work of art and I do not say that lightly. I mean that with my whole heart. Her current series is Sugar and Vice. It's gripped me by the throat and is slowly choking me to death.
@mrshipsmcgee
I'm biased because this is my lover and I live and breathe for her. If I go one day without texting her, I feel dead inside. But regardless of my undying love for Cait, she writes Peter beautifully. If you're looking for a finished series, please check Symbiote (which I can never spell right on the first try). It's sexy and dark and full of action. If you're looking for something softer, highhhllyyy recommend A Lord and A Lady. It is a Bridgerton AU but I think it could read just fine as a period piece even if you don't know the show/story. It's soft and lovely and Cait captures the time period so perfectly that it makes me feel like I'm watching an episode before my eyes. It's unfished but I have secret, behind the scenes, knowledge and she's currently working on the story again after taking a much needed break from writing. Everything she has showed me so far is amazing.
@privateanxieties
I have not read as many of their works as I would like to but it's on my list of things to do. I recently read Of Enemies and Indestructible Girlfriends and was in awe. I could not stop reading. The humor mixed with the emotions mixed with the action scenes were wonderfully balanced. Such talent and I feel bad for not reading as much as I would like. Christmas vaca is less than a month away so hopefully I'll use that time as my fic catch up. Just because I'm behind though doesn't mean you need to be! Read some of their stuff and you won't be disappointed.
@p3mybeloved
Y'all need to check out Kayla asap. If you want the perfect sex pollen fic then you need to read hold you here, my loveliest friend. Every time I attempt to write my own sex pollen fic I give up literally because I know it will never be as good as this one and why touch perfection, ya know? Her current chapter fic is who is the lamb and who is the knife. Once again, I need to catch up on this because I'm behind, but what I have read...wowowowowowow.
@withahappyrefrain
Everyone knows Abby (put your age in your fucking bio) is a true fic queen. When I think of her, I think of adorable cuteness, sunshine, and sundresses...and also the filthiest mind on the most innocent looking woman you've ever seen. She is perfection. Much like her fic Here Comes the Sun. Also Field Trips - Not just Educational gives me life. It solidified my love of Peter Parker being with a teacher gf. Oh, and if you feel like getting horny with sub!peter, read this. Abby's horny thoughts ruin me. She just gets it.

Introduction
Hello everyone! this is your resident artist and author here! my name is Kat/Lime! I hope we can get along and I hope to grow more on Tumblr like I have on Instagram...I don't have very many followers on either BUT I like very different things and I hope we can find a connection and possibly fan over art and other things?
I have an Instagram as well if you guys wanna follow me there (artsykidwolf_2000). I also post art there too and would love the appreciation there as well. (Before you ask NO I'm NOT taking Commissions at this time for I have NO way of actually doing them at this time and idk about Art Trades other than with mutuals/friends) (I've been getting DMs if I am and I listed specifically on my bio that I don't! I will update all of you when I'm confident in taking commissions!!!)
Here are some things I have made/are proud of:
My Original Story Series called Last Pegasus! It's a fantasy magical adventure type story based off a lot of things I'm interested in over the years (give or take) and I have SOME works and art based off the story itself or putting them in silly outfits of different fandoms or something hehe... I'm really hoping this series will be my pride and joy once I figure how to get my stuff organized and whatever else is needed comic or just a story otherwise...
Next is OC-TOBER, a OC appreciation type drawing/writing prompt challenge to where the weekly prompt helps you to share your original characters based on that prompt! I already have a few (as of writing this) and there's more to come (hopefully)
My art in general is what I do the best, sure I'm good at writing but I'm not the best best. I hope to grow as I go along and discover more and more tips n tricks and new art friends along the way! I have plenty to show but I'm taking my pace with it to not burn myself and y'all out lol.
My OCs are like Family to me, especially some I keep REALLY close to my heart, and I hope to share more about them
Here are some Fandoms I'm REALLY into/know very well (I have ADHD so it changes sometimes to my hyper-fixation lol):
(most of these are not rank per position on list, permanent hyperfixes are in this color. common ones in this color)
For Games/misc. I like:
Final fantasy
Zelda
Kingdom Hearts
Fire emblem
Monster hunter
God of war
Slime rancher
Pokemon
Dragon age
Sims
Splatoon
Dungeons and dragons
Subnautica
I also like some Vtubers
For anime/shows I like:
My Hero academia
Fairytail
Ancient Magic Bride
One Piece
Dragon ball
Naruto
Little witch academia
Avatar the last airbender/Korra
Avatar (James Cameron)
Star Wars
Dinosaur (the movie)
Prehistoric Planet
Monster High (all gens)
My little pony (most G4 but G5 is alright too)
Ghibli movies
Lots of Disney movies (I can recite a lot of them "word for word")
Nature/Historical Documentaries (I'm a nerd, I also love OSP (Overly Sarcastic Productions) their podcasts and videos are hilarious)
Feel free to ask if I know more these are the ones I could name off the top of my head hehe
Thank you for coming and I hope we can all be friends and hopefully you like my art alot hehe. Thank you bye!

Writblr Introduction
I've been on Tumblr for a bit now; mainly lurking on my other blog, until I decided i'd make a new one to actively engage in the community, and share what I am most passionate about. So here's my official introduction!
About me:
My name is Victoria, but most call me Vic, so I am fine with whatever you'd like as long as its not derogatory. I'm 24 and very unsure of where the future is going for me. She/her pronouns for me preferably, but I'd also answer to dude or bro, because it's a love language.
I'm a mom of three, so writing or engaging is sometimes limited to my free time. I'm American (I know, I know, how boring.) Kidding. Mostly. I'm also Neurodivergent, but that's probably pretty obvious.
I've been writing since I was eleven, and it's always been a major passion; there's just something so raw and real about storytelling, and I've always been a pretty immersive reader. The book just transforms on the page and I'm swept away into different worlds. Until recently, my writing has mainly been fanfiction. I found it so much easier than being confident in my own abilities as a writer, because the foundation was already laid before me.
I can almost never focus on one thing at a time. So you'll probably see me flip flopping around like a fish out of water.
I'm also an aspiring actress as well as an author. So you'll probably see some things related to that – I hope you don't mind. Some other interests include: Soap making, candle making, sewing, knitting, and Psychology!
Asks and tag list/tag games friendly!
Side note: I am not at all familiar with writblr/tag games at all so any tips is 100% appreciated. Always open to new friends as well!
I will more than likely use this blog for posting about my OC'S, my WIP's, aesthetics, moodboards, Playlists, poetry, and reblogging helpful writing tips, as well as reblogging and helping the writblr community.
ABOUT MY WRITING:
I enjoy reading/writing sci fi, dystopia, fantasy, and horror on occasion. My works will almost always have a romantic subplot because I am a smol hopeless romantic in a big, big world.
HUGE fan of redemption arcs. Yes, please. Give me the morally grey character who does awful things but in the end makes a huge turnaround and is just so chefs kiss
Some of my works will have triggering content, and it will be marked with trigger warnings when applicable.
Some fandoms I engage in and do writing in on my main blog @johnmurphysgirl is as follows:
LOST
The 100
Stranger Things
BBC Merlin
Jurrasic Park/World
There's probably more but my mind goes blank. Rip
My WIP:
Title: Tempus (subject to change/filler name)
Genre: Sci fi, dystopian, romance
(think Lost in Space meets Hunger Games: Catching Fire)
Current status: hahahaha panic induced screeching; chapter two is halfway finished, but I've been struggling with severe writers block for months.
POV: third person, eventual switching, multiple povs.
Plot: Scientists have always meddled in things they couldn't begin to understand; mixing viruses and making bio weapons in the same containment area as cures for all manner of ills. The scientist in question lets out a dangerous disease, a vampiric mutation called the NightWalker Virus.
Only a select few were chosen to go to the Odyssey; a space station that would lead them to safety on a newly discovered planet.
Eris Matthews is an unauthorized stowaway on the Exodus with her best friend Cashmere Moni, and the owner's son, Rhys Grey. The ship's capacity was only meant for four people, not six. They crash land onto their new home, far from the civilization they'd hoped to find.
They'd fled to the stars in hopes of salvation, only to find their new home riddled with demons and unanswered questions, betrayals, and it is not at all what it seems.

FAQs About Querying Manuscripts
Querying is a huge deal. You're about to send your latest story out to agents—and the entire process seems like a mystery.
I just posted a guide to writing query letters the other day, but there are many more questions you might have after reading a basic walkthrough.
Check out this FAQ list to see if addresses your query questions 👀 If not, feel free to send me an ask! I graduated with a specialty in the book publishing industry and will do my best to give you the most updated answers possible.
Do Query Letters All Look the Same?
Yes and no! I say yes because there is a general format you can follow (outlined on my last post) that inserts the same information in the same general paragraphs.
I also say no because agents won't have the same requirements for fiction, nonfiction, children's books, and graphic novels. It's always best to practice writing a query letter draft and always personalize your letter to the agent's specific requirements in their bio on their publisher's website or on Query Tracker.
Should I Query My Manuscript Even Though It Isn't Done?
Most agents want fiction manuscripts to be complete before they get your query letter. They'll only request the first 3-15 pages with your letter, but they'll mostly assume that your work is done after that point.
What does "done" mean? It means that your fiction manuscript averages between 65-85,000 words (100,000 words is the upper limit for many agents) and you've heavily edited your work. Go through your manuscript for story elements, character development, and line work before sending it anywhere. If agents spot inconsistencies or endless typos, they'll move onto the next submission.
Nonfiction manuscripts and other types of literature may have exceptions to this. Nonfiction authors can pitch proposals and sample chapters, plus outlines and chapter summaries. Graphic novel writers don't have to have all of the art finished sometimes. It depends on who you submit to, what you submit, and what the agent requires.
What Happens If I Send a Query With a Sample and Revise That Sample?
You can always withdraw a submission if you haven't heard back from an agent! Send a quick email stating the date and title of your manuscript and thank them for their time.
You can add why you're withdrawing if you'd like, but it's not necessary. People withdraw for a million reasons and agents know it's not personal.
Can I Re-Query an Agent If I've Made Revisions on the Same Manuscript?
Most often, no. Don't re-query an agent who has kindly declined your submission. The only exception to this is if they include a note in their rejection like, "While I cannot work with you at this time, I did appreciate [XYZ parts of your manuscript] and would be interested in working with you in the future if it met [the agent's genre list, publishing bucket list, specific things they're currently interested in selling]."
If you revise according to what the agent wanted from you in the future, then it would be fine to re-query and mention their previous recommendations at the top of your letter. Otherwise, it's best to move on.
How Many Query Letters Should I Send at One Time?
You may have seen stats that writers like to throw around regarding the percentage of positive query letter responses you should have compared to the total letters you've sent out.
Don't pay attention to that percentage.
When you're ready to query a manuscript, I prefer sending ~5 submissions per month. You can do more than that, but I find it takes so much brain power to personalize each letter and research agents!
That being said, if you send five letters and each of those agents say they take ~2 months to respond to each writer, you'll only get to send query letters six times each year. You also won't get a response from every agent, so there's no use waiting each one out before sending a new batch of letters.
Send a few and wait a few weeks. Send a few more. As long as you're keeping track of your queries in a spreadsheet (with the agent's name, publisher, the date of your submission, the type of submission, their contact info, and their average response time), you'll stay active in the process.
Can I Query Multiple Agents Within the Same Publisher?
Don't try this at home! Or anywhere! You'll rarely find a publisher that allows multiple submissions to their agents. Most explicitly warn against it on their website's submission outline page.
If an agent doesn't want to represent your work, but knows their coworkers well enough to think of someone in their office who might, they'll pass it along for you.
If you get a rejection from an agent, that's when you can query others in their office who represent the same genre. Waiting one at a time will take a while though, which is why it's better to query agents at multiple publishers when you sit down to query.
Do Agents Want a Long Publication History?
It helps if your query letter includes some kind of publication history, but it's not required. Especially if you're querying an agent who specifically encourages debut writers to send submissions. They know there will always be submissions from people who haven't been published before. That's okay!
Your publication history could include a recent short story contest or an entry into a chapbook from an indie publisher in your hometown. It could also be nothing at all. Agents rep writers with all kinds of backgrounds.
Just make sure you don't query an agent who mentions that they don't work with debut authors in their specifications if you've never been published. That's the only way it could backfire.
Should I Include a Sample of My Manuscript In My Query Letter?
Agents always ask for some kind of manuscript sample with submissions. Sometimes they want it copied/pasted into your query letter in the body of an email. Sometimes they use Query Tracker and the sample will have its own text box after you copy/paste your query letter.
Always check their submission guidelines before including your sample! Sometimes agents have samples limited by word count, while others want a specific number of pages.
Can I Follow Up If I Don't Hear Back From an Agent?
Sending a literary agent a gentle nudge can be a good thing, but only if you time it right. Double check their profile on their publisher's website, Query Tracker, or wherever you found them. Many will say something like, "It may take up to two months for me to respond." Others don't give a time frame at all.
If you're going to send a nudge, wait until their recommended response time has passed. Two to three months is a good time to estimate for those that don't provide response times.
When you send your email, make the title something like "Following Up on [Your Manuscript's Name Here] Submitted on [Submission Date]." In the body of the email, you can mention how you're still excited to hear from them and thank them for their time again.
Agents mostly don't mind nudges, as long as it's not a few days or weeks after you submit something to their inbox. They have incredibly busy lives and will need more time than writers often think.
Why Do Agents Reject Manuscript Submissions?
It's hard not to take a manuscript rejection personally, especially if an agent liked your submission and request the work in full! In those moments, try to keep in mind that there are tons of reasons why agents ultimately choose not to represent someone, including:
The query letter didn't hook them
Your story doesn't intrigue them (again, not personal!)
They don't represent that genre
They don't have the time to commit to a long project
They like it, but don't think it would sell in the current market (that's where book comps can help)
They also just may not think it's good. That's okay. You don't like every book you've ever read. Sometimes readers and writers just don't mesh. You want an agent who's equally passionate about your manuscript, if not more. Waiting for the right person to love your work will be worth it.
How Do You Pick Comparable Book Titles?
Comparable book titles are an essential part of a query letter. You should pick books published with the last ~two years in the same genre as your manuscript. Select at least two or three.
In your query letter, you'll have to mention each comp title and say why it's like your work. Maybe it shares the same themes or tropes. You should finish the comp title paragraph by saying that your work will appeal to the same audience, then specific the age groups you have in mind who are also fans of the comp titles.
When agents see writers compare their work to successful, recent publications, they see a potential to make a sale. Their job is to sell your work to a publisher, who then sells your books to readers. It helps them if they can tell publishers about your flashy comp titles that make your story more likely to sell because readers are currently interested in those topics/characters/tropes/etc.
What's the Difference Between Querying an Agent and a Publisher?
Query letters can go to agents and publishers, but there's a big difference between the two. Agents personally get to know their clients and represent them long-term. Agents also negotiate your publishing contract and potentially any future international books/films/TV series if that's in their repertoire.
If a publisher picks up your submission, you'll have to negotiate everything for yourself. You'll likely have to get a lawyer, who will also likely be more costly than a literary agent, who takes a percentage of your advance and royalties.
Sometimes it's easier for writers to go with one option or another, so think about what sounds best for you.
Note that many publishers, especially The Big Five, rarely take unsolicited manuscripts (submissions from writers). Agents allow writer queries so they can meet future clients. Publishers prefer to meet with agents, who will pitch writers/manuscripts that align with a publisher's interests.
---
The most challenging part of querying is how flexible it is. Agents will all look for and require something a bit different than the others. Writers won't have the same querying experience either.
Take these questions/answers as a guideline to help you get started or find your motivation again! As you move forward, you'll become much more comfortable with the process.

next on profiles are the villains. i found cyn's bio too short so he's grouped with pyri here.
the protagonists:
julie
machine
mark
vivian
Tumblr media
cyn
Pyri's enforcer, a powerful soldier and serves as the main antagonist, with Pyri and John being lesser antagonists.
He arrives on Earth to find Machine for Pyri, and accidentally abducts Julie, Mark and Vivian as well. Cyn is a loyal general to the royal family, who obediently serves Pyri without question.
Cyn is supposed to parallel Machine, essentially being a “what if” for him, if he blindly served the khirens without question.
Personality:
Cyn is obedient, going along with things unquestionably because all of the propaganda he's consumed in his life has made him believe in the goodness of the empire and the emperors: whatever they say must be right, good and justified. As Pyri's personal enforcer, he can sometimes be dependent on her, always waiting for the next order or else he feels purposeless.
When it comes to the main group, he's indifferent, only sharing Pyri's interest in Machine's power. But once Machine makes it clear he won't be her weapon, Cyn considers the group to be enemies and doesn't hesitate to go after them. He is violent, and will go after anyone against the empire/Pyri.
In his everyday life he is callous, serious, easily annoyed and more on the quiet side.
Background:
Cyn grew up under the reign of Pyri's parents Imbi and Myga. Surrounded by propaganda, he fell for it all, and was motivated to eventually join the army. He rose up the ranks, eventually becoming one of the highest ranked generals in the army. By this time, Pyri was the empress and was impressed with his skill, she made him her personal enforcer and he has been unquestionably loyal to her ever since.
Abilities:
Shapeshifting: Like most fyralogins, Cyn can only shapeshift parts of himself over his entire body.
Heat Resistance
Skills:
Combat
Flight
Tumblr media
pyri
Full Name: Pyriara
Family: Imbi(father), Myga(mother), Byriq(brother), Urila(sister), Edor(brother-in-law), Asteri(niece)
The empress of the Embarian Empire, she's intended to emulate Darth Vader and his various knock offs from films ripping off Star Wars in the whole “evil emperor” thing.
Pyri is a person who has felt powerless and slighted growing up, as the youngest in her family and thus the least chance to become emperor. In response, she took power and control by force, and murdered anyone she felt was in her way. In the end, the only relatives left are her sister Urila and her niece Asteri, as Urila successfully ran away with Asteri, and raised her in secret until her death. Asteri lived in fear of her aunt, until Mark and Vivian found her and convinced her to take power from Pyri.
Personality:
As a result of being pushed aside and powerless growing up, Pyri seeks control and power in whatever ways she can get it. This doesn't just manifest in her becoming an empress, but in everyday life. She is a control freak who is very demanding, wanting things to be exactly to her liking and doesn't hesitate to punish any disobedience. Her needs also manifest in her desire to conquer other planets, seeing taking control of other worlds as a perfect way to showcase her power and have authority over others. Additionally, it has to do with why she wants Machine: the army he was a part of is incredibly powerful and was fighting against her army, so she wants to have that kinda power on her own side.
Whenever she is in control or perceives herself to be in control, Pyri is very smug and confident. She loves to lord her power over others, as well as boast and brag. Pyri can also be taunting, condescending and mocking.
She also has a cruel streak, and is not afraid to harm others to get what she wants. Considering her previous murders, Pyri will not hesitate to do such a thing again if she feels it benefits her, and has tortured her enemies before. Pyri can be angry, short tempered and fierce.
Background:
Pyri was born to Emperor Imbi and Empress Myba, and was their youngest daughter. Her older siblings were her eldest sibling and brother Byriq, and her older sister Urila. She was never supposed to become the future empress, but went down that path.
She was jealous of Byriq as he was heir to the throne, and felt slighted and neglected by her parents. Pyri's feelings boiled up beneath the surface, until she could no longer contain them, witnessing a moment of her parent's favouritism towards Byriq, who also disregarded her and Urila. From there, she plotted her family's murder and executed them all herself, except for Urila and her daughter Asteri, who ran away.
While the people feared Pyri, Urila and Asteri had disappeared, leaving Pyri as the only heir to the throne. She became empress, and began her tyrannical rule over the people.
Abilities:
Heat Resistance
Shapeshifting: Like most fyralogins, Pyri can only shapeshift parts of herself like a hand, over her entire body.

Lucid soul skill
Tumblr media
Only last month-on a far duller and mundane note-I spent ten minutes before going to bed carefully studying all the various parts of the broken toilet in my home, before settling down and closing my eyes to fix it. Recently, from time to time, I have used these same techniques to continue working on both my short stories and Steggie Belle itself. When I began writing poetry, I would sometimes focus entire dreams on rewording, revising, and even creating poems from scratch. During my teenage years it was incredibly helpful when it came to studying and revising for tests or exams: either by replaying various lessons from that day or by reopening and rereading particular books and texts within the dream itself. Pausing dreams was a skill that I assumed to be totally normal and did result-as you may imagine-in me forming stronger connections to the dream world than within the waking.Īs mentioned briefly in my author bio, the process of Lucid Dreaming has been something which I have benefited greatly from, at different stages of my life so far. Like with him, to me, this was the most natural thing in the world and something which I never questioned as being unusual at the time. That Zoofall’s description, early on in the book, of how he used to dream as a young child, is absolutely true. I will, however, as a genuine thank you for your ongoing interest and support, admit one thing. I feel that those who know me personally, will have a fairly good idea. Like the novel’s narrator, Zoofall, I have chosen secrecy: not to go into exact details as to what extent the story is based upon my past. This is where it is my turn to confess: that Steggie Belle & the Dream Warriors, as wildly fantastical as it might seem, is partly autobiographical, and partly based on truth. In this way, it triggered my rapid descent into (and perhaps beyond what we understand as) Lucid Dreaming. I believe that these horrendous visions, which haunted my sleep after the house fire, forced my young mind to search for avenues of escape. The outcome was always the same, it would end with me being decapitated and-not snapping thankfully awake, but-watching as the grass beneath my cataleptic fingers soaked red with blood. I was inconsolable, for in these distorted battles between life and death-within these recurring nightmares-I was being hunted. My mother would regularly find me, wide-eyed and scrambling desperately about the house on all fours. I suffered from night terrors the likes of which I would not wish upon any other living soul. As a child, I developed an irrational-though perhaps understandable-fear of the dark.

Hello AGAIN! Lol Ok ok What are your favorite stories? Your favorite genres, your favorite storytelling tropes, your favorite themes and favorite character stories?
Hi again anon. (: You're always welcome to send asks. They're certainly fun to answer.
I'm not sure where the enthusiasm is coming from but it's cute! This is a very big question, but I'll give it a shot. Well, I think here I would distinguish between the types of stories I personally seek out and what tends to motivate my fandom activity. These can be distinct for me.
I am generally interested in anything that is very motivated - strong thematic statements, really heightened settings. I like spectacle. As I mentioned, I'm not really a genre person and I wouldn't consider myself a fantasy fan or anything like that, but when it comes to genre I would say I prefer things like tragedy or cyberpunk because inside the genre conventions are (broadly speaking) extremely grounded and motivated thematic statements explored - cyberpunk, ironically enough, can actually feel very hopeful to me, especially when spiritual ideas (in a physically corrupted landscape) are present. Sci-fi or fantasy can interest me but I wouldn't say they're as constrained thematically.
I know romance is usually considered its own genre, and most other genres aren't as concerned with writing it properly. But I think romance is one of the most interesting ways to realise two intimately connected character arcs and explore character - as well as being emotionally moving and even potentially titillating - and it's frankly bizarre to me it's considered extraneous or something which 'doesn't belong', and when it is written in, it's only a thematically hollow prize for the protagonist. Boring. Boo. Hate it.
Anyway, of tragedy I like Greek tragedy in particular. I guess you can tell by my username (no, I don't think Klytaimnestra is a girlboss, it's profoundly tragic). That kind of evitable madness and catharsis is just one-of-a-kind, and I love that feeling of reading something so old and expressing such essential ideas about the relationship to the world... it boggles my mind, it truly does. I am a fan of An Oresteia (trans. Anne Carson) which features Agamemnon by Aiskylos, Elektra by Sophokles and Orestes by Eurpides - it's hard to get Elektra screaming out of my mind. I also think the assemblage of the three plays by three different authors is very clever, since you get such a contrast in character voice and presence. Carson is a little bit of a tricky one though, her Greek translations can be very free and sometimes extremely literal, so she's not the best to come to as your first introduction to Greek tragedy... I think her Sappho is probably the best though, mostly because she doesn't insert anything in there herself unlike other translations.
In terms of literature my favourite book is The Picture of Dorian Gray. I'm not sure what that says about me.
I have talked a bit here about what my perspective is on how I like to enter a story. I'm always looking to be challenged but I think that in terms of what I seek out, I want to see something argued for properly. There's a lot of noncommital storytelling now (which is why I don't like corporate storytelling) which doesn't want to commit to character arcs and transformation, or true plot transformation, and everything has to be static. This even goes back as far as the American monomyth - the story is about going back to a state of tradition, and the hero leaves and doesn't re-enter the community, because their presence in the community to begin with was aberrant. This is where you get the anti-hero archetype emerging (I think, in particular), and whilst I like the idea of the anti-hero, I don't like the American monomyth.
So, I don't like that. I find that uninteresting. But in reverse to that I love redemption arcs (see bio). They are probably the chief example of what I think is radical transformation in a character and in a story. Embedded within redemption arcs are ideas about compassion, atonement, forgiveness, hope. Those are the kinds of things I like to read about. They're challenging to write, and to the audience sometimes they're challenging to accept. But I like the idea that the enemy is like the hero. I am generally a fan of stories which are a little bit story aware, or that play with hero-villain dynamics. I want to see the hero be challenged and change and not start the story out perfect. Perfection and moral sterility is how you ruin a good story.
I also don't like the expectation that art needs to be didactic and I don't want to be condescended to. I don't want a story to tell me how to feel, I want it to make me feel something.
In terms of what I find motivating my fandom activity - certainly redemption arcs the most, perhaps in part because of the unique position they occupy in online discourse - thematically I am interested in statements like, 'The healer has the bloodiest hands', or, 'It's not about fighting what you hate, but saving what you love.' I love the idea that people closest to fixing something are also closest to violence, inside pain and hurt you find healing, and I do really enjoy narratives which are about abstaining from unnecessary violence but trying to talk something out. I love dialogue as action, and anything dialogue-motivated.
I think that I like enemies-to-lovers, at least the trope which exists in my head. I don't like rivals-to-lovers and I don't like when people mistake ETL as just two people disliking each other. There has to be some sort of serious conflict to really be enemies-to-lovers, and what I enjoy is structural conflict and personal enmity which doesn't go so far as hating someone for their personality, but the things they've done - even better if those acts are instead recontextualised or intimately link the two together narratively.
I'm not sure that there are specific traits I search for in characters, but I like them mean and I like them kind. (: I love Byronic hero(ines) and I love conflicted villains and bad wizards. That's pretty much a given. It's almost silly to type out. I love when they struggle being evil and they want to be good and they're in deep, lonely agony, or they have some sense of honour, or they have some sense of tragedy about them which seems insurmountable and nobody can reach them (until...), I love cracks of light in the dark, I love when it seems too late but it's not. I love the good guys who are as conflicted as their enemy and they see themselves in each other.
I love that kind of transcendental contact... something which is probably the closest you can get to magic in human connection. Anything heightened, anything which goes beyond belief, anything which is at the edge of human experience is the kind of stuff I absolutely adore. One of my favourite scenes in television is when Miller finds Julie in The Expanse. It's perfect. Eros crashes into Venus. The metaphor is a little strong, but it took me a while to get. I think that relationship probably has some of my favourite romance tropes - metaphysical bond as a metaphor for transcendental compassion, one act of peace and love and understanding and coming to know and believe in someone standing in defiance of cataclysm:
"You can't go home, Julie. I'm sorry. We can go anywhere else in the whole universe but we can't go home, honey, okay? But hey, I need you to know, whatever happens, wherever you go, you're not gonna do it alone."
The interwoven structure of a murder-mystery and romance is so clever - and the murder victim is sort of not dead. I was actually remarking the other day to Best Mate that murder-mysteries and romance are the two most alike in structure, especially with their set-up and payoff, and I said I would love to write that one day, then twigged one of my favourite romances ever did that already.
I'm a huge fan of fairytales and mythic and Jungian storytelling, so I love intertextuality, I love narrative symmetry and stories rhyming (see bio LOL). I'm a HUGE fan of when stories basically spell out what's going to happen, and I'm a HUGE fan of ironic prophecy - it's the best stuff, I search for that everywhere, I get such a kick out of it and I'm sure the authors must too. ("Where there was conflict, I now sense resolve; weakness, strength... complete your training .. and fulfill... your... destiny!")
The persisting idea which I think is obvious in my tastes is the dialectical relationship of opposites. That's why I like tragedy, that's why I like redemption arcs and celebrations of life and joy and suffering. Light and dark, good and evil, life and death, tenderness and cruelty, fear and bravery, hope and despair, sorrow and joy, old and new, clean and dirty... that's one of the most essential philosophical ideas ever, I fear that I sound stupid talking about it. Despite that, what I love most of all is emotional sincerity, and a refusal to be self-aware about how you might sound cheesy. That's probably why I think Doctor Who holds a little place in my heart because I love, love, love that scene when River Song knows she has her last night with the Doctor, and she's hoping against hope he'll pull something out of his pocket... one night on Darrillium lasts twenty-four years.
All of this is the stuff which does admittedly fuel my fandom activity, and it's the kind of stuff which makes me excited to follow a story. As you can tell, probably the reason I'm so attached to Knightfall (Cinder/Jaune) is because it's basically got all of this. Everything I've said here applies to that ship. Knight and maiden, a Dark Curse, a healer and a killer...
I'm a romantic and a sap, really, that's about what you should expect from me. (: I would choose that anyday over being a cynic.
Thanks again for your ask and hope you have a good day. (: I'm not sure if I've missed anything here - I'm sure I have, but I think you get the gist of it.

Paparazzi.
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x F!Reader
Genre: Fluff, Angst
Warnings: TOO META, m*sturbation, mentions of s*x
Requested: nope
Summary: I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me... Y/N Y/L/N writes Marvel fanfictions. One day, Sebastian stumbles upon her account and, unable to help himself, reads all the stuff she has written about him. He didn't mean to fall so hard for her but he does. How can he not? She has shown him parts of himself that he never even knew existed.
Author's Note: Hiya peeps! Okay so a few weeks ago I read a similar (but dark) fanfic and I really wanted to write a softer version of it... Enjoy!
---
Same old, boring routine.
Y/N hit post and slumped against the headrest of her bed, sighing. She waited; a minute, then two passed and she noticed that someone had liked her post. She smiled to herself as she kept her phone away. Though boring, she wouldn't trade her life for the world. Y/N… well, she was a university student first and foremost but she was also a writer.
Being a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she had started writing fanfictions a few years ago. She posted them on Tumblr, where her blog, though not very well-known, stood out enough for her posts to get around 800-1000 likes per post. She loved it; she loved writing, she loved posting her stories and especially, she loved the feedback.
Sometimes people were rude, but most times, the reviews she got were fantastic. She read each and every one of them, smiling goofily as people freaked out over her fanfictions. It warmed her heart. A smile automatically blooming on her face, Y/N lay down on the bed and decided to go to sleep, it being almost 3 am.
Unbeknownst to her, someone else was up at the same time, tossing and turning in his bed, restless.
Sebastian sighed as he sat up, running a hand through his hair. He drank some water and lay down again, closing his eyes but it was like sleep was mad at him. Refused to be anywhere near him. He groaned to himself and picked up his phone from the nightstand, deciding to go through Instagram, hoping he'd finally fall asleep to the glare of the screen.
As he logged into his account, he skipped the activity page and went straight to the explore page. Bored, he continued scrolling until his eyes landed on a specific photo. And the breath escaped his lungs when he clicked on it; the woman in the picture was absolutely gorgeous. He just couldn't resist going to her page, smiling widely when he read her bio.
It gave him her basic information; her name, her age, the university she attended. But what caught his eye was the link below the bio. My Marvel Fanfictions Master List. Marvel fanfictions? She was a writer? Smirking, he clicked on the link and it took him to Tumblr. Of course, he'd heard of the site, but didn't have an account on there. At 3 am, his mind sure wasn't working right.
A post popped up on the screen, the same master list she had mentioned earlier. And his eyes bulged out of their sockets; damn, those are a lot of fanfictions. He went through the whole thing, smirking again when he noticed that she had written the most fanfictions about him. Not Bucky Barnes, no, Sebastian Stan.
He clicked on the first one. The date of posting was way back, in 2019. He started reading; nothing about it felt weird to him; he was intrigued, if anything. And as he continued reading, he couldn't help but imagine her being in the stead of the female protagonist. Her, the writer. The woman whose picture had made him end up reading in the first place.
When he finished the story, his heart thudded wildly in his chest. Wow, she really has a way with words. And he had also noticed how in the author's note, she used a lot of slang but reading the story had made him realize that she had an amazing, extensive vocabulary. He went back to the master list and clicked on the latest post under his name.
Posted: 15 minutes ago.
His breath hitched in his throat when he read the warnings: there was going to be sexual intercourse in this one. For one moment, he hesitated; did he really want to read this? "Oh fuck it," he huffed and scrolled, starting to read. The more he read, the more his shaft twitched in his pants. He wasn't really like that during… but oh damn, he wasn't complaining.
"Oh, Seb…"
His hand slid down and he rubbed himself through his boxers, unable to take his eyes off the text in front of him. His strokes got harder and faster as the sex got steamier. "Ungh, I'm gonna cum—" And he suddenly came in his boxers, groaning. Slumping down on the bed, he quickly finished reading the rest of it, going back to the master list.
He took a screenshot with the account's name in it and then went back to her Instagram account to take another screenshot. Keeping his phone away, he slipped out of his boxers, cleaned himself and pulled the covers on top of him, finally feeling tired enough to fall asleep.

Y/N was walking across the campus of her university, going to the cafeteria when her phone buzzed in her pocket. Taking it out, she opened Tumblr to read the message someone had sent her just then.
his-username: Hi there! I was binging your account last night, you write really well
your-username: Omg thank you!!!! I really appreciate it, I love getting feedback! 🥺❤
his-username: You're welcome! Especially your latest post, that was really good ;)
your-username: hehe 😈 glad you liked it!
Smiling widely, she kept her phone away and continued walking, not knowing that the person who had texted her was the same man she had written about. Sebastian smiled to himself when he read her text. After getting up in the morning, the first thing he had done was install Tumblr on his phone. Then he made an account for himself.
Figuring out the app was easy; he found out that there was an option to keep your liked posts and the accounts you followed hidden, and selected it immediately. No one needed to know what he did on the app. Then he went back to her account, pressed the follow button and started binge-reading her fanfictions again. Last night had he read only two, and that had left him wanting more.
Funny how much things can change in a night. He liked and reblogged all her posts without a second thought; he even read all her Bucky Barnes posts. She understood his character so well, put him on what he thought was an undeserved pedestal while writing about him. Some of the stories were AUs, which he found out stood for Alternate Universes. Mostly mobster or mafia stuff.
He had the day off, and he spent the entire time cooped up in his apartment, on his bed, reading. The more he read, the more he started fawning over her, over the version of him that she put out to the world. Dominating, suave and just perfect. He loved it. At the end of the day, he decided to text her again, hoping she wouldn't think he was weird or find out the truth.
his-username: do you wanna be friends, maybe? I'm new to the app, don't really have any friends here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That was a lie, he knew Mark Ruffalo had an active Tumblr account. But it's not like he could tell him.
your-username: Yes sure!!!! I was also thinking of making some friends on this app lol
his-username: You don't have any on here? But you've been here for years, haven't you?
your-username: haha yeah, but I don't really reach out to people much. Sometimes people leave their feedbacks on my posts, text me but that's that
his-username: Ohhh
his-username: well, let's start with names. Mine's Sebastian
your-username: Really?????? omg that's so cool lmaooooooo (didn't think you were a boy but 😳👀)
his-username: Not a boy, I'm a man 😤😂
your-username: 🤣 im y/n, btw
his-username: Y/N, that's a nice name
your-username: thank you!!!! So, what do you do?
his-username: nothing really that interesting, I'm in theatre
your-username: theatre is nice! I'm studying at [university] in New York lmao
his-username: Wait you're in New York? So am I!
your-username: ASDFHKSHKGF that's awesome!!! also I noticed that you've been going through my account the whole day 😏 notifications upon notifications keeping my phone busy
his-username: Oopsie?
your-username: 😂😂 I really don't mind, it was great! Despite the amount of likes on my posts, I only have a few loyal followers lmao gaining one more felt nice
your-username: You a big fan of Sebastian Stan? Cuz I noticed that you were only reading his and Bucky's fics 👀
Sebastian's face heated up.
his-username: kinda yeah 🤷🏻‍♂️😁
your-username: Cool cool cool, I'm a big fan of his too!!!! also got a crush on him but whatever 😳
Sebastian smirked at his phone. A crush on him, huh? That… was acceptable. He suddenly felt his cocky side coming out; the one she described in nearly all her fanfictions.
his-username: wouldn't blame ya, I mean, look at him. You have also written the most fics about him and Bucky
your-username: right????? damn that man has raised my standards. Anyway, I gtg now, I have to finish a paper before midnight. ttyl!
his-username: Bye! 👋🏻
He kept his phone away and took in a deep breath. This was the most fun he had had in years, and he was not letting her go so easy. He realized he was quickly falling for her; rather unhealthy, but he couldn't help it. Look at her. She looks like a goddamn angel, writes like one, makes him feel like one, do you really expect him not to fall for her? That's insane.
---
Months passed by like a breeze. Y/N and Sebastian had become very good friends, and he knew his way around words just enough to keep her from finding out his identity while not lying to her. Y/N also appreciated his friendship, because he was the one to whom she could rant about her most favorite man in the world— Sebastian Stan.
Sometimes, she thought about how weird of a coincidence it was that her new friend and the actor shared the same names, but then she used to brush it off; that was a common name, right? They talked for hours on end; Sebastian (her friend, not the actor) was extremely witty, smart and fun to talk to, she had to admit. Sebastian felt the same way.
His feelings had worsened. Y/N entirely owned his heart now. Somedays, he'd just go on Instagram, go to her account— her username memorized by him— and stare at her photos until he grew tired; he'd never get tired of looking at her beautiful face but his stiff body afterwards begged to differ. She was just so Elysian. He longed for the moment when he could meet her in real life.
His personality had also changed majorly, and people had caught on. Especially his Marvel co-stars, who knew him to be introverted, shy and, in Anthony Mackie's words, "boring". They were surprised at his sudden change in attitude; he knew his worth and Y/N had helped tremendously in finding it. Now, all those adjectives that she used in her fanfictions fit him perfectly.
Sebastian was never tempted to read fanfictions about himself from authors other than Y/N. No, he only loved her work. He was sure no one else could write as beautifully as she did, he was her #1 fan. Y/N even sent him funny Marvel memes she found on the app and he used to enjoy them heartily; God, the others have no idea what they're missing out on. Our fans are awesome.
Everything was going well.
Until one day.
Sebastian was getting bored at home, so he decided to go to the nearby library to clear his mind. He had read not one book in the past few months, hung up on Y/N's fanfictions. At this point, he was obsessed with her and he knew it. It was nothing dark, per se, it was— it was similar to how Y/N was attracted to Sebastian. How she was a fan of his work.
Just the same. He was a fan of her work in the same way. Just how she was attracted to him, he was attracted to her. Walking into the library that he visited often, he gave the librarian a smile and ventured further into the dark place. He checked his watch; the library closed at 12 am, it was currently 9:30 pm.
Not many people were around, heck, nobody was around. He thought himself to be all alone until he heard it. A sigh, coming from a few aisles away. He walked in that direction and peeked around the corner, freezing when he saw the other person. Y/N? Her books were strewn all across the table as she sat alone at the booth, rubbing her temples.
"You okay?"
She looked up and her breath caught in her throat. I'm dreaming. This is not real. Now I know for a fact that Sebastian Stan is not standing in front of me, asking me if I'm— "Hello?" He snapped his fingers in front of her face, pulling her out of her thoughts. "I, uh— I'm— h-hi," she stammered and he almost chuckled. "Hi." She gulped visibly and blinked at the table, not meeting his eyes.
"Can I have a seat?" He wants to sit with me?! "Y-Yes, sure, sir," she blurted out and he easily slid into the booth next to her. "Hey, please, call me Sebastian. What's your name?" He gave her a friendly smile, even though all he wanted to do was push her back into the booth and kiss her wildly. His shaft twitched just by thinking about it; Y/N was a thousand times more beautiful in person.
"I'm Y/N, it's very nice to meet you, I'm… I'm a fan," she admitted, playing with the ring she wore on her left thumb. I'm your fan too, sweetheart, the biggest one. "Y/N, nice name. You come here often? I haven't really seen you around." She shook her head. "Oh no no, I moved to this part of the city just a week ago, this is my first time here. The library is cozy," she shrugged, easing out of her tense position.
Sebastian nodded. "Yes, I know, this place is awesome. Got all my favorite books here," he chuckled and she smiled at him. "What's all this?" A groan left her lips. "Ugh, stupid university work. I have to write a book report but I don't even know what to write about." He smiled gently. "Well, I have a few favorite books, would you like some suggestions?"
"Oh, please! Tell me!"
He started listing some of his favorite works and Y/N noted the names down until he said the last name. At that, she froze. That's the name of my latest— She looked up but he had a smile on his face. "Oh, and the last one is by my favorite author." He took a pause. "Y/N Y/L/N." She froze completely, staring at the man with her jaw dropped.
Sebastian grinned. "We finally meet, Y/N, I've been waiting for months." Her mouth opened and closed several times as she recalled every interaction she had had with her online best friend— scratch that— her celebrity crush. All the times she had confessed her love for Sebastian Stan, all the dirty and inappropriate memes that she'd sent him…
Embarrassment flooded her entire body as she exhaled shakily. "It was you," she croaked out, "On Tumblr, the account— I'm so sorry—" Sebastian frowned in confusion when she blinked back sudden tears, a few still rolling down her cheeks as shame replaced embarrassment. "Y/N, please don't cry…" She looked up at him, his figure blurry due to her tears.
"You've read everything, haven't you? I just— I'm sorry, I don't want to make you uncomfortable—" He pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly. Y/N couldn't hug back, though she appreciated the hug especially since it came from him. "You don't know how much you mean to me, doll," he mumbled into her shoulder, using the nickname she often used in the stories she wrote about him. He grew accustomed to it easily.
"Huh?"
He pulled away to wipe her tears. "It was an accident," he admitted, "But I stumbled onto your Instagram account from my explore page. Then I clicked on your account, saw that you wrote Marvel fanfictions and I just couldn't resist the urge to read what you had written. Blame it on 3 am me, to be honest. You're a great writer, and I was immediately drawn to your works. They're awesome.
"They've helped me so much in the past few months. You see this changed attitude that everyone's been talking about lately? All because of you, sweetheart. I'm sorry for keeping my identity secret, but after reading your works, I knew I had to get closer to you. I made the Tumblr account just for you, just so I could talk to you. I'm sorry for lying, but thank you."
Y/N dumbfoundedly stared at him for a few moments, her heart beat getting steady with each thump. Here was a man she admired, loved more than anyone else in the world, telling her that he harbored the same feelings for her. How crazy was that?! Not trusting her words, she simply pulled him into another hug. Sebastian wrapped his arms tight around her, pulling her flush against him.
"Can I kiss you, doll?"
She slowly pulled away from him and nodded, shyly biting her lip. Grinning at the endearing gesture, Sebastian cupped her face and leaned in, gently pressing his lips to hers. The kiss grew hungry in a matter of seconds, and Y/N responded just as eagerly. His hands slid down to her waist and tugged on it, pulling her on his lap. She straddled his thighs as they continued kissing.
"Fuck," he groaned when they finally pulled away from each other, out of breath and panting. "You see what you do to me, doll?" Sebastian spoke huskily as he took her hand, placing it right on top of the tent that was forming in his pants. "Oh," Y/N whimpered when she felt him, the sound going straight to his shaft. "How about I take you home and we recreate some of the scenes from your stories, hm?"
"O-Okay."
"Good girl."

Cyber Security (Elliot Alderson)
Tumblr media
Description: An online ad leads him to you, though in reality he has little interest in your ad. What interests him is how you accidentally doxxed yourself and how oblivious you are to that fact.
Notes: idrk what to say about this one its one of those things that i wrote at midnight after almost falling asleep to a fantasy and then realizing it could work as a fic. like i did this same thing with ‘close your eyes’ that one was also a before-bed-to-get-to-sleep fantasy. this is also not a particularly romantic interaction, though it can be read as such WC: 2.2k

Sweat drenched his sheets, bathing him in the cold wind that breezed past his only air conditioner lodged in a nearby window. He stared blankly upwards, half shivering and half overheated, as he once again found himself in a familiar predicament—the practice of sleep.
It was no secret he had trouble calming himself down, and that aspect of himself reached into the evening, as well. He already downed three melatonin pills hours earlier, along with smoking a joint that should’ve put him to bed. Unsurprisingly, that did not work.
“Xanax,” he mumbled to himself, hearing it bounce back from empty walls. “Need to get xanax.”
In the meantime he raised himself to his feet, padding across freezing floors to his computer. With a click of a button the white screen buzzed to life, shining bright onto his sleep-heavy eyes, that did their best to acclimatize to the sudden change.
Hypnotization—strange as it might’ve been—had worked a couple times before. Not all the time, but decently enough to give it a try. He had work in the morning and he didn’t need to be more miserable than usual, especially since he hadn’t slept almost the entire weekend.
sleep hypnosis
The blinker flickered for a moment before his fourth finger slammed down on enter, the last step in calculated movements. What popped up first was a video titled [ SLEEP HYPNOSIS ] 8 Hour Loop with a screencap of a spinning black and white screen. Below that, however, was something he hadn’t seen before—a YouTube video titled exactly what he’d typed, lacking the caps just as he had. The title screen appeared to be some sort of poorly-drawn painting.
Curiosity overcame his hazy, aching head, and he clicked, finding a playlist of videos containing what could be the titles of songs, along with several different poorly-drawn title screens.
The first video began to play before he could realize it. What he first noticed was it was bereft of ads—that meant the publisher made no money off the album.
Sat in the presence of God
whose name means filthy old fraud
Captions had been manually added by, he assumed, you. The author. There were three views on the video, no comments, and no likes, leaving few other options.
Maybe it was the melody—maybe the lyrics, who talked of a world plagued by aristocrats. But he found his eyelids heavy, dropping dark eyelashes in his vision that blurred the screen. By the third song, reciting verses of an Islamic poem, he was slouched in his seat.
He slid down to the floor, crawling his way back to flop onto his bed. The music continued to play till the first ad popped up, at which time he opened his eyes, seeing a music video from Katy Perry, at which time he promptly reached over and unplugged his computer. He wasn’t sure which cord he pulled out, but the screen still went black. With that, he just barely sneaked into his covers, dozing until the morning.
It was far too easy to get information on you. Your full name was stated clearly in your youtube bio, alongside several different social media tags leading to instagram, tumblr, and facebook.
Facebook alone provided him the means to your address, and he didn’t even have to go looking for it. Your most recent post was an ad, searching for someone good with computers to aid you in your recording process, which you noted as ‘dismal’.
Are you fucking kidding me? He thought to himself, reading the ad once more.
Your address, your real, physical address was stated as the place you wanted to meet those interested in helping you. On the internet. You had doxxed yourself after less than a year of being online.
Okay, he thought, clicking on your listed email. Someone needs to be taught a lesson.
Three days later—after about two weeks of listening to your echoing voice every night—you replied, sending a cheerful email detailing when you would be available to meet him. After shooting a short message back, the date was organized.
Two more days and he was standing at your doorstep, his neck craned upwards as he scanned your tall, narrow home squished between two other apartments. He just barely knocked before the black door swung open, revealing a familiar face belonging to a stranger. Elliot was dressed in his black hoodie and jeans, a stark difference to your long, colorful robes, coming out of a sort of fantasy world.
“Hi,” he said, his voice grating with how low and quiet he kept it.
“Hello,” you said with a smile that did not match his hunched posture. “Are you Mr. Alderson?”
“Elliot,” he corrected, his chin just barely raising to meet you. “Elliot Alderson. Elliot works.”
“Alright,” you said, nodding. “Come inside? I was just making tea. Do you like tea? Or do you prefer coffee?”
“I... I’m fine, thanks,” he said softly, scooting past you when you opened the door wide enough for him to enter. He sucked in a breath as his chest brushed yours.
Your home was modern—far fancier than Elliot’s own apartment, with large windows flanked by soft grey curtains. A small, upright piano was in the corner of the living room, set upon a reed mat lined with Korean symbols. The couch was clinical, made of a sort of black plastic leather that matched the grey skies beyond the window panes.
He sat down, shifting his feet closer together as his fingers dug into his palms, continuing to scan the room in its’ entirety until you returned with your own tea.
“What kind of experience do you have? School counts,” you said, setting your cup down on a tiny plate whose decorations matched your teacup.
“I’ve been... experimenting, with computers, since I was around 9,” he said, mumbling the words out as his shoulders hunched awkwardly down. “Have a job at a cyber security firm. Started a while back.”
“You still have that job?”
“Yeah,” he said with a small nod. “Jus’ thought this would be... fun.”
The dead look on his face indicated no humor whatsoever, but you took his word as it was.
“How’d you find the ad I put out?”
“I... I listened to your music,” he answered honestly for once. “Helps me fall asleep.”
“Oh,” you said, clearly taken aback. Your face grew warm as you glanced away with wide eyes. “I’m glad I could help.”
“You’re not very good with technology, though,” he said in his usual low, grating voice.
“Not really,” you chuckled sheepishly. “That’s why I put out the ad -“
“No, not that,” he interrupted you. “You put your physical address on the internet. You doxxed yourself. Do you even know how dangerous that is?”
The lyrics of your songs pointed towards a kind of brilliance, balanced against emotions felt thoroughly on pages and screens. It didn’t match your actions at all.
“What’s doxxing?” You asked.
Elliot had to physically stop himself from sighing and leaving.
“You want everyone to know where you, a minor celebrity, live?”
“I’d hardly call myself a -“
“I could’ve been a murderer,” he said, reaching into his bag.
He looked you in the eye as he pulled out a gun, clicking on the safety before he pointed it at you.
“This is how easy it would be to kill you.”
As expected, you stiffened at the sight of the iron barrel, your fingers withdrawing to your chest. Your lips pursed as you met his gaze once more.
“Please put the gun down,” you whispered, your voice cracking.
He did as you said, resting the gun on the table.
“That’s a hell of a way to start an interview, Mr. Alderson,” you said quietly. “Please get out of my house.”
His heart sank. What had he expected? For you to fall to your knees and sing to him as he desired you to do? He threatened you with a gun to teach you a lesson, and you reacted accordingly. Calmer than others would.
Elliot stood on shaky legs, sliding the pistol into his backpack before he zipped it up. Throwing the pack over his shoulder, he swallowed through a tight throat, shuffling as he delayed his departure.
“Keep safe from people like me,” he said in a strained mumble. “Take that ad down. Meet people from the internet only in inhabited, public areas.”
You tapped your fingernails on the table for a moment, chewing on your bottom lip. Suddenly you stood, tugging on his sweatshirt sleeve to get him to face you, instead of staring at his feet.
“Alright. If you’re really so good at the internet -“
He ignored your incorrect grammar.
“- and... if you actually do want to help me with my songs,” your tone softened, “then you’ll be able to find my real name, not my stage name. If you do.. I’ll hire you.”
“Alright,” he said monotone, knowing the battle was already won.
Even though he knew your name already, he turned away and left to his apartment, immediately going to work on figuring out everything he could about you. If you willingly still offered him the job after that, he knew it would take a lot to scare you off. He could impress you.
It was, after all, the only thing he was good at.
Two days later he showed up at your apartment again, quietly thanking you when you let him in. The clean floors and walls remained unchanged since his last visit, and you led him to the same table, sitting him down on the same seat.
“Your name is (Y/N) (L/N),” he started with. You already appeared to be surprise. “You grew up near LA and you’ve had a chronic illness all your life. At eleven you saw your first therapist.. that must’ve been when you first got diagnosed with depression... and anxiety.”
“Killer duo,” you muttered.
“Your parents split when you were thirteen, which came at the same time as your dog, Penelope, died. Or... sometime that year. When was that... 1997?”
“1999,” you said quietly.
“Your mom homeschooled you,” he continued. “That’s probably why you don’t know how computers work. Rather eclectic, in a.. boring way... an ex-Amish, right?”
You nodded and his heartbeat tripled. Everything was right thus far despite a two year difference in his guesstimate of your life’s timeline.
“Then there was your dad... logger in the Redwood forests. Burly guy. Not a great man, from what I saw,” he said.
“He was fine,” you said with a small shrug as you looked away. “Didn’t ever hurt me, or anything.”
“Abuse isn’t always physical,” he said faster than he could think, dizzied by his own memories playing behind his eyes.
“I know,” you murmured.
You went silent, so he continued, hoping to pry more precious words from you.
“Your favorite color is yellow,” he said, leaning closer to you. “On Valentine’s you get chocolate strawberries, and on easter you get kinder eggs.”
Nothing.
“You studied mythology as a kid, and you made paintings of the forest you lived in with your mom. Santa Cruz mountains, I think.”
“Yeah,” you said. “I miss the forests.”
“I know. You want to visit Ireland again because it’s a land of faeries and moss, it’s a breeding ground for your song lyrics.”
“How did you find all this out?” You finally asked.
“You use the same password on everything,” he said, though that was far from the actual answer. “Your web browser tracks all your movements and you don’t try to stop it, or hide ads, or stay away from sketchy websites. Your parents aren’t much better, either.”
You chuckled, shaking your head as you brought your hand to massage your brow.
“You’re way too smart to be helping me,” you said with soft laughter, blushing with your smile.
“It’s better than working for E Corp,” he said, huffing out a laugh that was hardly humored.
“E corp?”
“My.. uh, place of work,” he brushed off his slip. “My point is... I’d rather work with you and do easy work than work with my current fucking coworkers.”
You laughed, truly and fully this time, curling into a little ball that shook with the force of it. Your feet tucked into your tiny chair, making you even smaller.
“Bad people or just annoying?”
“Stupid,” he chuckled. “Don’t let me wear my sweatshirt.”
“Ooh, now it’s my turn,” you suddenly interrupted him, earning a strange look. “I’ve noticed things about you, too. I couldn’t learn anything off the computer, but you, you have anxiety too. Probably some childhood trauma.. maybe a dissociative disorder of sorts or a form of PTSD. Your jacket is like your home, and... you have sensory issues. Few types of fabric, don’t like to be touched, if I had to guess I’d say you might be autistic.”
“Blunt,” he said after a full minute’s silence.
“Do you mind?” You asked.
“No, not really.”
“Good. Then you’re hired,” you said with a smile, extending your hand for him to shake. “If you still want the job, of course.”
He watched you with evident apprehension, but took your hand after much thought, shaking with a firm grip.
“When do I start?”
