84 "Be Not Afraid" - Bible Verses to Comfort and Encourage You
The Bible explicitly tells us “be not afraid” of death, sickness, or tribulation. Scripture warns us “do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28). When the Bible says that we should fear God, this means to know and live by the commandments of God as the divine authority of all things. The biblical…

asuka and kaworu should've hung out sometime. it doesn't really fit with the themes of the show or the canon narrative at all but in my head kaworu showed up at the apartment one day expecting to meet shinji, only to be told in no uncertain terms by a thoroughly fed up and spiritually crushed asuka that shinji had been called over to do some tests at NERV last minute and she doesn't know when he'll be back, nor does she care. kaworu asks if he can come inside anyway; he doesn't mind waiting, however long it takes. asuka reiterates that she doesn't care, and leaves him standing there to do as he pleases as she turns back to where she was playing a video game on the tv in the living room. kaworu observes silently for a while before asuka tells him to sit down and come play with her because she's getting creeped out by him just standing there. she practically throws the controller at him when he sits beside her. after a few silent, tense rounds of multiplayer, she snaps at him that he doesn't have to let her win. he asks her with a small, strange smile on his face why she thinks that he would try to lose on purpose. asuka realizes that he's being serious, and expresses genuine derision at his lack of skills, berating him and belittling him with a spark of her old passion. she then insists on teaching him how to play properly, backseat gaming him excessively and at times snatching the controller out of his hands in a fit of frustration at his inability to follow what, to her, are simple instructions. by the end of the day he's passable enough to get soundly thrashed by her without offending her by losing, and, for a moment, it's almost normal. they're just two kids hanging out, playing games at the end of the world.

Nostalgia made me watch the One Piece live action - And i loved the ships so much it made me want to draw my own spin on them - inspired by both anime and film, but also by antique portolan charts (and their lovely sea monsters) !

I'm so grateful that the only GG fans that care about the light novels are the ones that can be normal about things because Lightning the Argent goes from the rawest scenes of carnage imaginable to Ky Kiske doing something mildly religious like offering a short, silent, prayer for someone that got mangled to death by WMD dragons, and I just know that, in the wrong hands, those brief religious moments would generate the most annoying goddamn memes you could ever imagine
#textpost#I have a mountain of beef with catholicism specifically and am negative percent religious#But the punchline to so many Ky jokes is just “ha ha catholic” like come onnnnn get creative#Religion on its own isn't bad. Look instead at how an individual interacts with it and judge from there#Untapped potential in how Ky's consistently depicted praying to Mary/an unspecified female saint for example#Actually... How come I've never seen anyone analyze that aspect of his belief?#His parents died when he was pretty young (iirc) so their influence couldn't've been too much of a contributing factor in that#Maybe he was closer to his mom in the brief time he had with his parent(s)?#Almost all of the Holy Order knights/members they've ever shown have been male too#So I wonder if maybe it's more like the calm/uncombative protective presence of a sacred woman is comforting to him?#It's definitely a stark contrast to the types of things he's generally exposed to in his daily life in any case#Another interesting contrast is how much Sol DOESN'T like religion#He's got some sarcastic lines about God and stuff even pre-Gearification. Wonder what the story with that is...#Anyway Ky only expressing his religion in private moments is interesting to me too#I can't think of an instance where he ever forced it on someone else or tried to explain something as happening just because God willed it#He's smart and logical and yet he still has this spiritual component...#Man is his character is complex. Studying this blond kid under a microscope...

DP X DC SPEED FORCE LINKED WITH INFINITE REALMS
Every Flash, no matter the version or earth, canonically is using the same Speed Force. The DCAU Flash uses the same Speed Force as the Earth-16 Flash, pre-crisis Flash, etc. You get the idea. That's even how speedsters can travel universes! Because the Speed Force is the same for all of them, it allows for a connection between all universes. And even better canonically Speed Force users don’t just use it or channel it. They are physical embodiments of the Speed Force. (and I’m uncertain if this is still dc canon or if this has been retconned by now but Speedsters are the outlet for the Speed Force. They cannot stop running or put down the Flash costume in some versions of their character as they do not have a choice if there is not another speedster. They must continue to run or there is no outlet for it then time gets all fucky and unstable with objects from the past appearing in the present. Think Into the Spider-Verse type glitching but with a threat of the timeline collapsing in on itself if it continues too far & isn't fixed.)
Now let's discuss the Infinite Realms. In fanon its been held that similar logic applies. While unlike the Speed Force in that ghosts aren't the physical outlet for the energy of the Zone (but that would be a very fun concept for Ghost King AU), they can harness the energy from the Zone. Also like the Speed Force, the Infinite Realms in fanon can be used as a method of contacting or reaching other universes and that no matter the earth, version, or point in history. There is one Ghost Zone. It is infinite, it spans across all universes and times.
The link between the fact that speedsters Are The Speed Force & the tie between both the Speed Force and the Infinite Realms being a similar constant in all universes could be explored in so many ways. One of which is that the Speed Force and the Infinite Realms resonate on similar frequencies (or opposing frequencies as comic book logic would totally be on my side for that working) and Speedsters might react to the exposure or leakage of the Infinite Realms into their world depending if the Infinite Realms are similar or opposing to the Speed Force. But either way there is a fundamental connection between the two.
So, to conclude, have one of my many ideas where these two intersect:
- Barry Allen captured and disarmed a new rogue toting an odd glowing green gun. Barry being the smart motherfucker he is, disassembles the weapon and proceeds to be utterly confused. He accidentally touched the weird glowing green substance that was leaking out of the device but when the side of his hand brushed the touched the substance it administered an oddly familiar feeling shock of electricity. But that wasn’t right. The Speed Force feels alive with a rhythm and pulse of that he could feel resonate with each beat of his heart. But whatever this was felt, for lack of better words, dead. Stagnant. Ancient. It already reached infinity and instead of continuing to expand with continuous energy, it had already stopped long ago.
A shiver went down his spine as he went to write up a report to the Watchtower, warning anyone else about these weird weapons and a request for Bats to look more into the Drs. Fenton.
- Wally accidentally vibrates at the wrong frequency when trying to go through a wall and falls into the GZ
- Alternatively: Bart Allen can at will open a portal to the GZ and that’s how he got back to the past. In addition to being the ADHD embodiment the Young Justice knows very well, he’s also just a Tad liminal. His eyes are backlit with lightning when angry. When he runs, his electricity is tinged green giving a fun red, yellow, green, white color scheme. But the YJ crew just chalk it up to Bart being from the future and having anger issues while connected to the Speed Force.
- Speedsters being able to understand ghost speak but in the same manner that while a modern English speaker can understand maybe a few words in a sentence of Old English, it’s still pretty fucking hard but like, some things they can kinda gleam what they’re saying. It just ends up making things even more confusing from misunderstandings and changes in meaning causing miscommunication to occur.
I have so many more ideas based on this but for now I’m going to leave those for other days so I can go to bed.

An Au I might plan on doing something with later on. Human Au where Eda and Raine meet at a religous music camp.
(This idea came from me joking about Terra Snapdragon being that woman at a 90's Catholic music summer camp who gets suspicious at the two girls who become VERY close. Except in this case it's a girl and an nb)
Tumblr media
After getting caught doing one too many pranks at school. Eda is given the option of either suspension or being forced to spend that summer at a religous camp to "learn moral values" (but it's basically to punish her). While there she meets Raine who has been coming to this camp every year.
Because Eda and Raine would have been teenagers in the 90's. Raine has been lying and saying they're a girl for safety reasons, and therefore sleeps in the girls cabin with Eda. (You can INTERPRET Raine as bring AFAB in this Au. But either way they're still lying about being a girl since they identify as nonbinary.)
Eda and Raine end up sleeping in the beds next to each other. Because Raine has been coming there every year, they know how to sneak in snacks and offers Eda juice. They recognize that Eda is a rulebreaker and therefore not a snitch.
Because of this, once they quickly become friends, Raine let's Eda in on their secret that they are actually nonbinary. Meaning that they are neither girl nor boy. This is the first time Eda has heard that term (again 90's) but still understands and agrees to keep their secret.
Terra is the homophobic camp counselor as well as the chaperone for Raine and Eda's specific cabin, and is awfully suspicious as why these two "girls" are so close with each other.
She had always been had her eye on, and was suspicious of Raine because she thought they "looked like a lesbian". (They were a "girl" with a "boy's haircut" and "dressed like a boy".) And is even more so now that they're constantly hanging out with the new girl, when previous years they kept to themselves.
Eda overhears Terra tell this to another counsler and brings it up to Raine to make fun of Terra for making assumptions about people. Only for Raine to confirm that do actually like girls.
That night Eda realizes that she might have a crush on Raine. And contemplates if that means she's gay, since before now she's only had crushes on boys.
Eda does think Raine is SO cool. For one thing, they know they're nonbinary, they know they're gay, and are confident with that. While Eda herself is struggling to accept that she's bi.
Meanwhile Raine thinks Eda is so cool because she's a rulebreaker, in more ways than one in the specific scenario, that doesn't care what others think about her. But in reality they're BOTH afraid of being found out.
Eda is more so afraid because she has to come to terms that she IS gay and everyone else knowing too. While Raine is more afraid because of the consequences that come from not only being gay but trans as well. If anything, they're more afraid than Eda, since they're under more suspicion than her.
Over the summer both Eda and Raine come to accept they have feelings for each other. And on the last day of camp they both have their first kiss in secret in one of the girls bathroom stalls, thinking they would never see each other again. Only for them to end up going to the same highschool...

"doing good again, angel?" he's trying SO hard to be normal about his angel while he literally always looks like a victorian woman diagnosed with hysteria after seeing a bit of bare skin around aziraphale. if aziraphale ever rolled his sleeves up it would be OVER for him he would EXPLODE and never reform out of embarrassment.

STAR WARS without the force just feels like WAR WARS to me but in this series im here for it bc of the ripe-for-picking political exploration of the universe which has been overdue bc the prequels were over 20 years ago! and little subtle nods to the Force like "The Eye" of aldhani... beautiful!!
a star wars story without a force presence truly is muted in darkness and andor does a great great job at displaying that both narratively and visually with its somber colors, mist, shadow, pallid light and stretches of silence...
all those spaces? that dullness? that's the absense of the force and the light. no color, no sound, no happiness, no life.
& moral ambiguity for all (as the sith/empire is at peak power) and suppressing the light. so well done and not outright stated or obvious.
i think when ppl watch this show and cheer that there's "no lightsabers" they are missing the point of that decision. that the down-to-earthness, the War Wars of it, feels that way because the magic is, literally, gone. the force is gone.
which also reflects our own world.

So TCW has a lot of episodes, so I understand people missing certain things that narrative is trying to say. It's an anthology it has a lot to say, but I think one of the episodes that is really important now that we're getting live action perspective of TCW is the episode is "Lair of Grevious" its one of the few standalone episodes and one of the few not starring Anakin Ahsoka or Obi-wan. It stars Kit Fisto and his newly knighted former Padawan, Nahdar Vebb.
We watch as the young Nahdar, though confident, is ill prepared to deal with a warrior of Grevious's caliber and dies. The characters talk about his overconfidence being his undoing, but what is not talked about is how young Nahdar was. We aren't given an age but considering he was one of the senior level padawans promoted to help bolster the jedi numbers he can only be about Anakin's age(~20) And unlike Anakin, Nahdar was not a warrior but a jedi Healer. And Grevious viciously kills Nahdar despite him reaching knighthood.
That could have been Ahsoka.
We know fully now that Anakin trained Ahsoka to be a soldier to survive the war because Jedi trained like Nahdar died in the war. Grevious fights ahsoka multiple times in TCW, and if not for Anakin's harsh training, Ahsoka probably wouldn't have lived through them.
Because other padawans didn't, because other knights didn't.
The Jedi were ill prepared for the war and no more is that clearer than them sending out their own children onto the Frontlines.
Ahsoka was lucky and well prepared, and that's why she survived.

Back to Rosario talking about how Ezra and Ahsoka will have a deeper conection and relationship that will be important to the show, we can all agree that this is most likely a Daughter and Son of Mortis thing right? Everyone can agree on that right? Or at very least they will be parallels to Baylan and Shin
