Day 17: Ritual
I did this in 2 1/2 hrs — I’m a smidge proud.

[George] was like that: quiet, unassuming, occasionally moody and certainly introverted - an odd combination for a rock and roller! At Gardner Road you wouldn't even notice him sitting in a room most of the time. He sat, listened, laughed, drank tea, ate buttered toast, just the same as everybody else, but you would find it difficult to remember whether he had been there moments after he had gone.
Place a guitar in his hands, however, and he would grow in confidence immediately. It almost seemed as if he had also grown in stature, the change was so remarkable.

Day 2 was star berry linden blossom
Also went for toast and tea. Still was sick even worse than I had been on day 1 so this was the highlight of my day
Bonne maman is one of my favorite strawberry jam so this was of course delicious

I got a treat today!
My wish orders and an eBay item all arrived!
I'm completely obsessed with the "Snack plate/teacup" combos of the past, and slowly acquiring several sets. This set managed to hit several of my niche interests at once. First if all, leaf- and flower-shaped dishware is a big thing in my house. Second, I adore party sets in multiple colors because guests are less likely to mix up their drinks.
Also, tea. Tea sets. Teacups. 😍
This type of set has several names, which are all adorable. I'm hobbit at heart; I like to snack and graze. So these have names like:
Luncheon sets (though that sometimes means a cup, saucer, and small plate set, too.)
Snack Plate Set
Party set
Tea & Toast set
Tea and toast?!? Oh my stars and garters!! At home, I live on tea and toast, and I fully intend to use these for that purpose.

I think it says a lot about kaz brekker as a character that when he was nine years old he watched his father get crushed underneath a plough forcin ghim to leave his home and move to another city and it's only like the third most traumatising thing to happen to him
maybe not even because that boy went through some shit in those books

It’s advent calendar time. I love all the little jams in the Bonne maman advent calendar. I had so much fun with it last year
I’m a little late on sharing this year. I’ve been sick
Day 1 was white nectarine peach lemon verbona. Which was one that really stood out to me on the list so it was exciting to have it as day 1
It was really good. There’s not enough nectarine and peach jams
I had it on toast with tea in my birthday mug from a couple years ago

Treasures!
In my mad dash to find a last minute wedding dress last week, I did come across some awesome stuff.
Starting with two identical oval tablecloths in a gorgeous dark green.
Apple plates! The plain clear plate with the spot for a punch cup was at a shop with the engraved non-snack plate. I thought, "didn't I find another apple plates somewhere?" And I was right. The apple shapes are all identical. The pattern is not. Oh well.
The go nicely with the rest of the non rectangular glass snack plate ("Tea & Toast") sets:
Saw, but did not purchase this:
That's the Bombay Co flower tea set pattern that started my whole obsession. It's the serving tray, teapot/pitcher, creamer and sugar bowl. The problem is that I've discovered that there are cheaply made and not intended to hold actual beverages. The glazing isn't right somehow and lets the liquid into the ceramic to stain it and let bacteria lurk. (Hence my new obsession with the Woodfield pieces; they're all designed for actual use!)
So I passed the little set up. 5 years ago I'd have snapped them up with glee.
Cast iron tea warming sets. Two matching ones, for $1.25 each. Hot damn!
And, of course the fantastic new table!
Don't mind the faux leopard print at the bottom; that's just my round kitchen table that was painted that way for a TV commercial.
I must be an adult. I'm excited about furniture and dishes.
