I completely agree with the character ages, Sonic will always be 15!
Too, why can't we have "Talk about low budget flights! No TV or movies? I'm outta here!" Sonic?
...instead we have "bAlDy nOse Hair? GoTta reMember that onE!" Sonic.
I miss Sonic Adventure.
Gonna be totally honest and this may be a bit controversial but
Sonic's always been kinda cringe, even in the Adventure Era.
That's not to say I'm defending "Baldy McNosehair' because I agree, it's a bad line and not really funny but.... this isn't THAT new for the series.
For example, watch the original ending for SA2. After having a morose moment with Rouge by returning Shadow's ring to her and Amy interrupting him in deep thought on what had happened, he dismisses it by saying
"Let's go home! To the planet as COOL and BLUE as me!"
youtube
And it's just... the delivery was jarring to the atmosphere that it cracks me up. I know he's not one to dwell on sad things but that switch up after such an emotional roller coaster that is Shadow's story-line is such a funny way to end the whole game on.
But granted, it works because he still gives Shadow a final quiet goodbye after that so AT LEAST it saved that moment from being laughed off too easily. This felt intentional as a good little character moment because even if the line's awkward, it's probably just him trying to keep the spirits up after a heavy ending. Which is pretty in character of him to do.
These awkward moments usually came off as just being earnest and sometimes added depth despite itself.
Also, Mcnosehair is far less offensive to me than
Tumblr media
But even this isn't too dissimilar from some of the embarrassing lines he's said in Shadow the Hedgehog for example.
There are definitely parts of the Pontaff Era I dislike quite a bit and I wholeheartedly admit I'm more into Classic->Dark Ages in terms of overall tone, intent and execution. But I think people's underlying issues with Pontaff's Era has less to do with the once-in-a-blue-moon cringe lines and more an overall issue with intent, tone and execution of them.
But that's a much bigger conversation than I can get into today. Maybe another time when I have the energy for it.

Chenford Fanfic: 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺. 𝘞𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦? [One shot]
The Rookie Fanfiction | Chenford | One shot | 3K | Rated T | Alternate Universe | Meet Cute | Bad Pickup Lines
Summary: “‘Are you made of nitroglycerin? Because you’re dynamite!’”
Tim shook his head and chuckled softly, a smirk still on his lips as he lifted his beer to take a sip.
“Do you think those lines have ever actually worked on anyone?” Angela asked.
“Not on anyone sober,” Lucy laughed.
Tim hadn’t expected to be drawn into the bartenders' conversation. And he definitely hadn’t anticipated how the rest of his night would go.
Or:
Who knew that bad pickup lines could lead to this?

This fills my square for Terrible Pickup Lines, as part of @chenfordsource's Chenford Bingo 2021

“Is it hot in here or is it just you?”
Unamused, Lucy gave a tight smile to the man on the other side of the bar.
“Would you like to order something?”
“Uh… Uh, yeah,” the man stumbled over his words, clearly not having thought that the bartender wouldn’t play along with his come on. “Um, bottle of Miller Lite.”
Lucy cashed the man out, and turned to her friend and coworker Angela after the man was safely out of earshot. “So it begins.”
As the Friday night rush at Home Base sports bar and restaurant started, Angela and Lucy fell into a rhythm. They moved around the U-shaped bar, greeting faces old and new, pouring drinks (hoping for as few blended frozen drinks as possible) and serving up burgers and wings. It was a bit busier that night. It always was when the Dodgers were playing, and people clamored for a spot in front of one of their better screens. Most of their patrons seemed more concerned with the lone hit that Betts needed to complete the cycle, but there were still the (mostly) college-aged guys who thought their pickup lines were not only clever and original, but also not at all cringe-worthy and somehow appealing enough to get them a date with one of the bartenders.
Because everyone assumes their bartenders and servers are single and just waiting for a great pickup line, Lucy thought to herself as she filled a bucket with beer bottles and popped their caps off before topping off the bucket with ice. She slapped the bar ticket for table 12 to the front of the bucket, letting the condensation that was already forming hold it in place, then set it in the pickup window for one of the servers.
When the dinner rush finally died down, Lucy and Angela busied themselves with catching up on cleaning bar glasses and replenishing their supply of garnishes.
Another man walked up to the bar, waiting patiently while Lucy popped a new pour spout on a bottle of Jose Cuervo and turned to face him. He smiled politely and ordered a Jack and Coke. But just as Lucy began to pour his drink, he said, “Aside from being drop-dead gorgeous, what do you do for a living?”
Of course. Even the “nice” ones are like this tonight, Lucy mused. At least we’ve had plenty of regulars here, too.
“I’m a bartender. That’s what I do for a living,” she replied flatly. “Are you starting a tab?”
The man nodded, then sheepishly handed over his card.
“Thanks, Jared,” Lucy said with a sedate smile as she handed him his card back, along with his drink. “I’m Lucy and that’s Angela over there,” she said, nodding to the other woman heading towards her with a bucket of ice. “Let us know if you need anything else. We serve the full menu at the bar.”
Lucy turned to Angela as soon as she had finished filling one of their wells with ice. “Do they realize they’re not even original?” she asked.
“I know, right?” Angela set the bucket off to the side and swiped her wrist across her forehead. “Do you think those lines have ever actually worked on anyone?”
“Not on anyone sober,” Lucy laughed.
“What do you think your worst one was?”
“Hmm, ‘Remember my name, because you’ll be screaming it later’ is definitely up there.”
Angela grimaced. “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard ‘I may not be Fred Flintstone, but I bet I can make your bed rock.’”
“Ugh. Men can be so gross.”
“Well… Not all of them,” Angela replied.
“Okay, you’re right. Wesley is a perfect gentleman,” Lucy said of Angela’s boyfriend. “But I’m pretty sure you lucked out with him. My last few dates were all disasters.”
“Hey, now. Don’t let a few bad apples spoil the bunch.”
“I know, I know. But Angela, my last date told me—after the check came—that he couldn’t afford to pay for his half of the dinner because he spent it all on the Uber ride over there. And another one not only had no interest in anything I had to say, but he couldn’t stop talking about the new sound system he put into his car.”
“Yeah, you’ve met some real winners, I’ll give you that. But it wasn’t like I just tripped and fell into Wesley, either. Before I met him, I hadn’t been on a second date in a while. The right guy will come along when you least expect it.”

this is our get-along fic
two years after shadow and vio's evil takeover, the gang reunites for dinner. this is a multi-chapter continuation of the oneshot "thank darkness for that," which introduces a corruption-type au that's actually super chill. definitely read the one-shot before following this one!
Tumblr media
chapter 1 of 7: the darkest timeline (3400 words)
Shadow nods. “You know, we’ve really been making strides on our emotional intelligence lately.”
“I suppose we have.”
“Of course,” Shadow muses, “we’ve been normal-type-intelligent from the very beginning, so it’s no wonder they made us kings.”
“Shadow. We made us kings.”
“A very intelligent move on our part!”
read the full chapter on ao3 or under the cut:
Life is good in the darkest timeline.
It’s been two years since Shadow and Vio took over the world, and just shy of one since their royal wedding. They’ve faced many challenges during their time in power—multiple assassination attempts, conflicts over royal traditions, and semi-regular sleepless nights, just to name a few. But they’ve also changed the world for the better, having bridged the Dark and Light worlds and restored entire natural regions of Hyrule. Not too shabby for a pair of former villains who took the throne at age nineteen.
“I don’t like the decorations,” Vio says from on high, presiding over the Royal Event Planning Committee as they put the final touches on the banquet hall. Originally Vio had wanted to host the dinner party in a more intimate space, but Shadow had  worried that the already stressful situation would quickly get claustrophobic. So they settled instead on their throne room, with its stainless marble flooring and sunlight pouring through stained glass. They oversee the preparation from their thrones, one of which is hardly ever used, as Shadow has always preferred to perch on Vio’s armrest rather than occupy his own seat.
“Oh no,” Shadow coos, playing with Vio’s flowing shoulder-length hair. Neither he nor Vio wear their crowns outside of special royal occasions, opting overall for more casual styles of dress. Of course their clothing is still made from the finest materials, created specifically for them by Hyrule’s most talented artisans from Ordon to Eldin.
Vio wrinkles his nose at the silver and gold garlands being strung around the columns. “It looks tacky.”
“Okay tastemaker, what would you prefer instead?”
Shadow’s just poking fun, but there’s an edge to Vio’s expression. He’s been like this for the past week, ever since they got the RSVPs from their four anticipated guests. Shadow knows why, of course, but he’ll never fully understand Vio’s feelings on the matter. Given the way they’ve been affecting Vio, Shadow’s almost grateful for that. Only almost, though, because it tears him up when he can’t bear even some of Vio’s pain. They got here together—they’re both equally responsible for the good and bad consequences of their plan. It’s not fair that Vio seems to suffer more for it, at least inside his own head.
“Hey!” Vio shouts out, startling one of the committee members.
Shadow grabs a bit of Vio’s hair and gently pulls. “Vi, can you please just relax—”
Vio ignores him, casting a disapproving glance at the dining table. “That needs to move.”
It takes Shadow a second, but he’s pretty sure the committee member’s name is Fletcher. He’s been making it a priority lately to learn as many names as possible, under the diplomatic guidance of his new royal advisor.
“Thank you, Fletcher,” Shadow adds with an apologetic shrug. Fletcher looks from Vio, to Shadow, to the table, and cringes.
“So sorry!” they shout, grabbing another committee member to help them move it.
Shadow sighs and disentangles his hand from Vio’s hair, using it instead to rub his back. “You know you’re freaking out for no reason, right?”
Vio’s gaze stays fixed forward, but his voice is soft. “I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”
The table’s new location seems to appease him, even though Shadow’s the one who ideally needs it out of the sunlight. And he doesn’t really, anymore, because he’s been living in this world for two years, and it is possible for a Dark Worlder to gradually adjust. Shadow does appreciate the thought, though, especially given the legislation he’s trying to pass mandating accommodations for Dark Worlders in public spaces.
Shadow kisses Vio’s forehead and Vio hums. “I know I’m being… prickly,” he says. “I’m sorry.” He cups a hand around his mouth and repeats his apology across the hall, startling Fletcher yet again. Now it’s Vio’s turn to cringe.
“They all get why you’re stressed,” Shadow reassures him. “It’s not exactly the kingdom’s best-kept secret that the ex-Heroes and ex-Princess have issues with our reign. They tried to murder us at our wedding like four times.”
“Five,” Vio corrects Shadow, because accuracy apparently matters when it comes to botched assassinations. To be fair, it very much does, and if it were up to Vio the first attempt would probably have been a success.
“Five,” Shadow confirms. “Point is, I’m sure they don’t blame you for being on edge. I personally think it’s good that you’re nervous, because it means you really do care about winning back their favor.”
Vio shakes his head. “You make it sound too transactional. It’s not about making me feel better, or getting forgiveness or whatever. I don’t deserve that, especially for the things I’ve done in the past.. I just… I wish things could be different now.”
“And in some ways they are, but you already know that.”
Vio groans and rubs his temple. “It was easier when they all hated me, and we believed they always would.”
“Welllll,” Shadow draws out the word, “it’s not too late to call it off.”
Vio shakes his head, as Shadow had fully expected. He’s got a pretty solid understanding of his husband’s psychology at this point, and suspects that giving Vio the option to back out would actually help him feel more certain moving forward.
His husband—Shadow still gets stuck on that. They married at twenty, which is apparently young in Hylian culture, but given the circumstances Shadow still thinks it had been right call. It’d made all the sense in the world to him at the time, because honestly he couldn’t imagine ending up with anyone else, and their specific marriage came with fun new titles and further reinforcement of their dominion over Hyrule.
But still. It’s weird to be married so young, especially considering the way the world must view them. Shadow worries that their titles and married state will make him and Vio even more disagreeable to Vio’s former allies. He wonders if they could ever fully believe that Vio loves Shadow implicitly, that he sees Shadow worthy of loyalty sworn above all else. By all means, it makes no sense, and Shadow doesn’t exactly blame them for doubting his value in Vio’s life or Hyrule’s leadership. He is still a creature of darkness, after all.
But this whole dinner party isn’t about Shadow, or his own silly insecurities. He’s happy, truly, and his life is good—certainly better than anything he could have imagined before meeting Vio. They both may have had to do some objectively evil things in the past to create the world they now rule, but really, it’s not a bad world at all. No worse than it had been prior to Shadow’s initial siege on Hyrule Castle, and certainly better than it would have been under Vaati or Ganon’s control. There is always that nagging question of what would have happened in a world where Vio and Shadow had worked with the others to defeat Vaati and Ganon, but in all likelihood that would have resulted in the Hero reforming and Vio ceasing to exist. So, as Shadow had once put oh-so-eloquently: like, fuck that world.
“Hey,” Vio nudges Shadow’s shoulder. “You’re being quiet. What are you thinking about?”
“Just how glad I am that we’re here, together,” Shadow says with a soft smile. “Sappy, I know. I should be working on my tough evil persona for this dinner. It’ll make you look like the good one in comparison.”
“You should be exactly who you are,” Vio says, leaning up to give Shadow a kiss. “And I’ll be who I am. And whatever they think about that… well, at least we’ll know we tried.”
Vio looks up at Shadow, and it’s like the stress of the day has completely left him. “You’re so…”
Shadow allows Vio to cup his face, handling him with a reverence that sends chills down his back. “Yeah. You too.”
“Your Majesties!” interrupts an all-too-familiar voice. “The preparations are just about finished. Your guests should arrive in approximately fifteen minutes.”
Vio and Shadow exchange an uncertain glance, but it only lasts a second.
“Thank you, Tingle,” Vio says. “Oh, and others!”
“Thank you, everyone,” Shadow echoes with a big thumbs-up. “It looks beautiful in here.”
And it does—a long dining table set out in the center of the hall, bathed in partial light and perfectly set for fine dining. It’s fancy enough to reinforce the fact that they are still the ones in power, but not as intimidating as their wedding had been.
“Please alert the guards,” Vio instructs Tingle, “and have them meet our guests at the front gate.”
Shadow frowns. “Won’t that send the wrong message?”
“Five assassination attempts,” Vio reminds him. “I want us all to trust each other, but I also don’t want either of us dead.”
“You really think they’d try to kill us now?”
“I think it’s going to take effort and time to repair the trust between us all, and I’m not risking our lives in the meantime.”
Tingle looks from Vio to Shadow and then shrugs. “Guards at the gate, I’ll let ‘em know. Then I’ll start on the soup.”
And with a tiny bow he’s gone, leaving Shadow and Vio to wonder if they ever actually requested soup in the first place.

Life sucks in the darkest timeline.
Blue crosses his arms as he trails behind the group, wordlessly following the main path towards Hyrule Castle. Red glances back at him as Zelda and Green push ahead, only causing Blue's scowl to deepen.
"What are you looking at?" he asks his kind-of-roommate and kind-of-boss, who has dressed himself entirely in handmade items from the Castletown Crafts boutique. Combine that with Green's crisp button-down and Zelda's business-casual dress, and it's like they've all forgotten that their hosts are the same cretins who destroyed their lives two years ago. Blue rolls the sleeves of his t-shirt above his biceps and messes with his own hair, going for maximum disrespect towards their most regal and exalted hosts.
For what feels like the millionth time in the past two years, Blue wonders how the others manage to be so consistently untroubled by the state of the world and their lives. It's like they don't even take Blue seriously anymore, ever since the group's embarrassingly futile attempts at rebellion during the royal wedding. From the way Red, Green, and Zelda act now, you'd think they only had that one shot—and since they blew it, they had no choice but to just give up trying at all. Now Green teaches kids how to ride horses on the ranch he shares with Zelda, Red sells handmade goods to the residents of Castletown, and Blue works the register because has literally nothing better to do with his time.
"Come on Blue, keep up!" Red calls out, walking backwards to simultaneously engage with Blue and match pace with Green and Zelda.
Honestly, of the three of them, Blue is positive that Red pities him the most—why else would he have offered him a job, or a room in the apartment above the shop? Why else would he be calling out for Blue when he clearly is unhappy to be here, and vocally disgusted by how easily the others fell for Vio and the shadow monster's ruse?
When invitations to a dinner party with the Kings of Hyrule showed up at the shop and ranch, Blue had been shocked by the others' simple acceptance. They all RSVP'd yes almost immediately, with no ulterior motives or senses of resentment or anger. Green and Zelda showed interest at best and mild suspicion at worst, while Red was actually excited by the prospect of a possible truce between the six.
Blue pities them all, actually, for deluding themselves into thinking they're happy enough to consider forgiving the people who quite literally ruined their lives.
And they may not take Blue seriously anymore, but he is deadly serious about one thing:
Vio and Shadow Link are going to regret inviting him into their home.
They've had their fun for the past two years, turning Hyrule's heroes into a mockery of their former selves—but this darkest timeline has a time limit. Even if no one else cares to bring them to justice, Blue will make sure of that.
"Bluuuuuue," Red calls out again, almost tripping on a topiary as he refuses to look where he's going. Blue scowls and picks up the pace, because he really is not in the mood to see Red eat pavement at the moment. He'd probably ruin his hand-knit sweater, and get all sad about it, and it'd just be a whole thing.
"Okay, I'm here," Blue mutters as he joins Red's side. "Look where you're going, or you're gonna end up walking into the moat or something."
"Oh, I do hope they've kept up with moat maintenance," Zelda says as they advance along the stone path. "Water acidity should ideally be monitored on a weekly basis."
Green shrugs. "Landscaping looks great. I'm sure someone's looking after the water features too."
"I wonder how much turnover there's been in the maintenance staff, especially given the influx of Dark Worlders available for hire..."
This is stupid, Blue wants to yell at the top of his lungs. You are all being so stupid right now.
But then Red reaches for his hand and gives it a reassuring squeeze, and Blue feels his rage subside by at least thirty percent. Normally he doesn't like people touching him, but Red's been doing this since their time in the ice cavern two long years ago, and at this point it's just kind of muscle memory for them both. Blue is about to engage in physical combat with a customer? Red squeezes his hand, and he's fine. Red is about to cry because he's too allergic to pet a cute dog? Blue squeezes his hand, and he's fine. They don't acknowledge this strange behavior they share, and that's just fine with Blue. He's got much bigger things on his mind, like finally avenging himself and the friends he has repeatedly failed to protect.
He's not trying to be an asshole, but it's just like, doesn't someone need to be? Doesn't someone need to stand up to these evil tyrants and finally put them in their place, even if the others think it's an overreaction? If Blue has to be the perpetually unhappy outcast to see justice finally done, it truly is a small price to pay. And, besides... his life isn't going anywhere good in this timeline, anyway. If he's going to crash and burn, he might as well take Vio and Shadow Link down with him.
"Blue, you can stop walking now."
Green stops him in his tracks, just inches away from the iron castle gate. The four step back as two guards open it from inside and smoothly intercept their entrance.
"Welcome to Hyrule Castle, esteemed guests," one of the guards says with a flourish towards the building they all know very well.
"Give it a rest Devon, it's me," Green says, causing Zelda to elbow him in the ribs.
"My apologies," she tells the guards. "You may have met a version of Green Link in the time before my... voluntary abdication."
"Voluntary," Blue mutters under his breath. Zelda ignores him.
Red stands on his tip-toes as he strains to get a look beyond the gate. "Can we go in now? Is Vi—uh, the King ready to see us?"
Guard Devon nods. "Both Kings of Hyrule await your arrival in their throne room."
"Ah yes, because only good things happen in throne rooms when those two are involved," Green says, and Blue appreciates his aimless snarkiness. Green might not be actively plotting Vio and Shadow Link's downfall, but he definitely isn't as forgiving towards them as Zelda and Red seem to be.
The guards exchange a mildly confused look, and it strikes Blue that they probably have no idea what Green is even talking about. They only know their Kings as benevolent rulers, uniters of the Dark and Light worlds, a sweet married couple with a checkered but overall justifiable past. Definitely not a pair who nearly committed Green's murder, or scared Blue and Red half to death so the Poes could kill them to full death.
"You can enter in just a moment," says the other guard. "We just to quickly ensure that you're not carrying any weapons on your person."
"Oh!" Red exclaims with a jolt. "Nothing on me, just gifts for the hosts!"
"You brought gifts?" Blue asks, incredulous.
"Just little things. Crafts, handmade, you know."
And Blue could say more to that, but he's cut off by Guard Devon. "How about you, any weapons we should be worried about?"
"Just these hands," Blue responds with a cheeky grin.
"We did bring our Four Swords," Green tells the other guard. "Not to fight or anything, it's just kind of an instinct at this point, y'know?"
"I understand, but we still need to confiscate those."
"No way!" Blue exclaims, holding his sword to his chest. "This is just part of their latest plan, to steal the swords from us so we can't fight back!"
Green looks from the guard to Blue, appearing genuinely conflicted. "You... may be right about that, Blue."
"No," Zelda says, plucking Green's sword out of his hands and passing it to Guard Saige. "He's not."
"And how would you know that?" Blue demands as Red willingly hands over his Four Sword. If Zelda has an answer to his question, she doesn't give it.
"I don't have a sword," she tells Guard Devon instead. "May I enter?"
"Yes, Pr—Zelda. Ma'am."
"Just Zelda is fine, thank you."
Green follows her past the gate, leaving only Blue to surrender his weapon. He doesn't even need it or anything, but it feels deeply wrong to just hand it over to the enemy.
"I'm not doing it," Blue says, rolling the sword's hilt in his hands. From behind the guards, Red frowns.
"Blue, please? We really need you here with us."
Blue doesn't know if Red is a secretly a master manipulator or just unfathomably earnest, but either way his appeal works. Blue needs to get inside the castle anyway, and if this is what it takes, it's...
"Fine," Blue groans as he hands his Four Sword to Guard Devon. "You better give it back at the end of the night."
"Once you leave the castle, yes," Devon confirms. "I will now personally deliver your weapons to a secure location, and Saige will show you to the throne room for dinner."
Green snorts. "I mean, I think we know how to get there... but I'm guessing you don't want us wandering the halls unsupervised."
"We were explicitly instructed to prevent that from happening," the guard named Saige says matter-of-factly as they lead the group inside. "The Kings of Hyrule are very serious about possible threats of furniture theft."
"Oh, I'm sure they are."
As they're led through the familiar castle halls, Blue finds Red at his side yet again.
"Thanks for giving up your sword," Red says with a shy smile. "I know that wasn't easy for you, but I really do think this evening will be good for us all."
And Blue can't bring himself to say something mean in response, not when it's Red being so patient and so kind. So he settles for a stiff nod instead.
"I hope you're right," he says, and it is the truth. Not the truth Red wants to believe, but the truth nonetheless.
Because if Blue gets his way, it will be a good evening for them all—in fact, the best one since their false triumph against Vaati and Ganon. He just has to play his cards right, hide his intentions just like Vio had done so remorselessly two years ago.
Blue can be remorseless, too. And now he's successfully made it inside the castle.
It's only a matter of time before the Kings of Hyrule fall.

tv tag game
— list 8 shows for your followers to get to know you better. tagged by beloved mootie @michaelmandog
1.Good Omens
Tumblr media
This is such a feel-good show for me and cleaning out my drafts made me remember how much I love it. Also a reminder that I need to finish Staged. The friendship between the authors and the ways it impacted the book and show is so important to me...
2. Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul
Tumblr media
"oh watch it it's the best show ever" "yeah yeah sure" and then... Meth show for middle aged dads sent me on a *checks calendar* FIVE MONTH FIXATION? I need to be euthanized. Also Michael Mando. That's all.
3.Final Space
Tumblr media
SHINED SO BRIGHT AND GONE TOO SOON. This was THE underdog adult animation and though I've separated myself from it a lot it's still one of the best out there. Space fantasy dramedy about a convict out in space that is a testament to all that adult animation can be, but often isn't. If you can stand a bit of exec-meddling awkward humor, this one is the hardest WATCH NOW on this list. Also, catboy above voiced by Steven Yeun and he goes so hard.
4.Invincible
Tumblr media
Continuing on the thread of amazing adult animation with a much more popular entry, this is an adaptation that is so far so much better than the source material. I stayed up til 5 am binging this. It has 4 things I love: great animation, (comic) trope subversion, GORE, and Steven Yeun (again!)
5.Futurama
Tumblr media
This show is older than me, and I never watched it growing up, yet it still feels like home whenever I watch it. If I need to cheer up and have my TV on, this is the clear choice. It's so nostalgic and has so much heart while also being really, really fucking funny.
7.Gravity Falls
Tumblr media
Similar to Futurama: another comfort show!! It brings back so many memories, even though I watched it after its original run. One of the rare things I own official merch of (I loved it enough to pay for shipping from the US)
7.Mob Psycho 100
Tumblr media
Obligatory singular Anime entry. This is the one anime I'd recommend to non anime watchers, as it subverts a lot of typically annoying anime tropes and is a rare entry where the adaptation is as good if not better than the source material, and yet it's AMAZING because it OOZES with love of the source material! I'm definitely biased because it's the kind of story my middle school self needed, and that my current young-adult self... also needed. It's about growing up, about how people need other people, and it rewired my brain.
8.Rise Of The TMNT
Tumblr media
JUST LIKE FINAL SPACE, SHINED TOO BRIGHT AND GONE ENTIRELY TOO SOON!! I was a HUGE fan of 2003 series when I was a kid and this one completely reignited my love for TMNT. The animation is poppy and dynamic and tastefully stylized, the story goes from monster of the week to the absolute insanity that is the netflix movie, and it has the kind of personality that a reboot of such an old series needs and benefits from (partially also ended up being its undoing because people hate fun). Like Final Space, if you're not averse to a little cringe humor aimed at a younger generation, I have 2 words for you: MUST! WATCH!!
HONORABLE MENTIONS BECAUSE ITS HARD TO PICK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arcane! because all that can be said about it has already been said about it. But it is fantastic and if you have not watched it yet because "its league of legends ew" and "its a cartoon" quit being a boob and go watch it.
Mrkomir Prvi! Because it's a really funny sitcom set in medieval Croatia, and it's only here because it's incredibly obscure on a global level, but it's really the kind of original TV I love to see and rarely do. They did a pandemic episode in which they called the diseased "influenzers", enough said.
Tagging! @its-me-ej, @djcranberry, @hellomingo, @lemonykleonella, @mediasploshion and @bamsara(long time no talk!! i hope this isnt a jumpscare)
No pressure, and happy reminiscing >:)

Underwater - Perc’ahlia
Percy, for all he doesn't believe in mermaids, is the one to find Vex adrift and injured. With no one else to patch her up, he takes on the task himself.
He certainly didn't expect for his little act of kindness to spiral into this.

Day one of the AU-gust challenge. Prompt: Underwater.

Percy is glad his castle is by the beach. Although he’s not exactly a swimmer, can barely hold his own in the water, it’s a great view. When the hustle of life as a royal becomes too much to handle, he knows he can head down to the sandy shores and relax.
Sometimes he sketches the view, sometimes he reads a book, sometimes he simply sits in the sunlight, letting the ambient sound of gentle waves relax him.
That is what he’s planning to do, one sunny day in the middle of summer. Lessons all finished, Percy makes his way out of the castle and down to the warm beach. It doesn’t take long for him to discover that relaxation will not be on the schedule tonight like he’d planned.
As soon as he steps foot onto the sandy ground, the gleaming blue of something unidentifiable catches his eye. Percy cocks his head slightly. Whatever it is, the sun reflects off it enough to make his eyes ache a bit. And he could swear it’s moving…
Curiosity killed the cat, he thinks to himself as he approaches.
He’s a couple yards away when his eyes are able to make out what it is. Who it is.
A mermaid lays, sprawled out on the ground, helpless. Her tail, a shimmering blue, occasionally flaps and creates clouds of sand.
Percy’s head the rumors of mermaids in the Whitestone ocean, but he never believed them. With no definitive proof, and only the accounts of the odd sailor here and there, most people chalked up the existence of mermaids as a legend.
Perhaps, he ponders, this is a prank. His siblings are known to be rather mischievous.
His thoughts go out the window when he continues forward, more cautious this time, only to spot the growing red stain in the pale sand, forming from the mermaid. Percy’s breath catches in his chest.
Legs pounding against the ground, he doesn’t even register his movements as he charges towards the mermaid. “Are you alright?!”
She doesn’t respond to his call. That’s not good.
He arrives quickly, falling to his knees beside her. She’s about his age, late teens, and beautiful, but he doesn’t focus on that, paying attention to the large wound in her hip instead. It’s right where her scales meet her tanned skin.
“Damn it,” Percy hisses, feeling more helpless than she is. Sure, he’d played caretaker to his siblings’ cuts and bruises before, but nothing nearly as bad as this. He tries to think back to his meager first-aid lessons.
Should he bandage it? He doesn’t exactly have the supplies on him, but perhaps he can make do. Quickly, he pulls off his shirt and stuffs it against the deep cut. Even in her unconscious state, the mermaid grunts in pain. “Sorry, sorry,” Percy whispers, wrapping his sleeves around her waist until he’s somewhat confident the fabric will stay in place.
Her eyes flutter open, and if Percy weren’t so distracted, he might have been captivated by the brilliant hazel color. As it is, he continues paying attention to her wound, opening up his waterskin to pour the contents onto it. Hopefully that will somewhat help clean the area.
“Who are you?” the mermaid asks, twisting away from Percy with panic.
Holding out his hands in what he hopes is a soothing gesture, Percy introduces himself. “I’m Percival Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III.”
She blinks again. “Huh?”
He cringes. Such a formal greeting was probably unnecessary; it’s not like his rank matters with her. “Just call me Percy. I’m trying to help you.”
Slowly, the mermaid regains her bearings, the fin at the end of her tail beginning to flap anxiously. “You-- You’re a human.”
In any other circumstance, he might find the redundant observation amusing, but with the amount of blood she’s lost, her confusion is understandable. “I am, yes. Look, you’re very injured, and I don’t know--”
“I’m not supposed to be around humans,” she interrupts, words reedy with panic.
“It’s alright. Listen, I’m going to get some supplies. Bandages and the like. I’ll be right back,” he announces. It occurs to him, as he turns to leave and looks down at the blood drying on his hands, that he might not be thinking clearly. Mermaids are an old fable. Could this be a hallucination?
Percy decides not to ponder it when she’s still injured. He can debate the logistics of this whole situation later, after he’s patched up the mermaid who might or might not be a hallucination.
Returning to his castle, he travels in the secret passageways to avoid being seen. The prince covered in blood and babbling about mermaids might not be a welcome occurrence. Percy makes it to the infirmitory quickly, grabbing a first aid kit off the wall and spinning on his heels to return.
He’s gone for less than ten minutes. Still, when he arrives back at the beach, the mermaid has vanished into the crisp waves, leaving behind a trail of disturbed sand in her wake. A single scale shines on the ground. Percy picks it up and stares at it.
“What the fuck,” he whispers to himself, regestering the situation for what might be the first time. Either he’s developing hallucinations, or there are a number of his beliefs that need to be challenged.
So, Percy does what he always does when faced with a particularly difficult riddle: he heads to the library.
*LINEBREAK*
For the next two weeks, Percy spends every day at the beach, sitting with a pile of books at his side. From children’s stories to sailor’s ramblings to academic interpretations, he absorbs all the information he can about mermaids.
It doesn’t help much. Everyone seems to have a different opinion, all of which contradict harshly. Even the academic professors are disconnected from each other. It’s a bit infuriating. Percy hates being left in the dark.
On the fourteenth day of his reading, however, things change. He’s rereading Marop Parlor’s account of his alleged interaction with a terrifying mermaid when a sound catches his attention. Percy looks up at the loud splash to see a figure halfway emerged in the ocean. They’re staring at him intently, making no effort to hide themself.
At first, he thinks it’s the same mermaid as the one he found on the beach. They both have the same hair, and nearly the same face. This one, however, has a sleek black tail.
“Hello,” Percy calls out, closing his book and sitting upright on the chair he’d brought.
The mermaid dunks himself under the water before rising up again, this time several yards closer. Still, he doesn’t speak.
“I believe I met your sister some time ago. I assume your sister, at least.  Is she alright?”
“What’s it to you?” the mermaid demands, a low growl lining his tone.
Percy pauses, honestly stumped at the question. He doesn’t want her to die, shouldn’t that be obvious? “It’s just decency, I suppose.”
The mermaid scoffs, arms crossing over his chest. “Rare for a human to have that.”
“Why do you say that?” Percy can’t help but ask.
“That’s a bold question, after you saw what happened to Vex,” he snaps, tail flapping hard enough to create waves in the water. Percy files that name away in his mind. It’s rather pretty. “She almost died because of your kind.”
Percy feels his heart do a strange little dance.  “Almost? So she’s alright?”
That, more than anything, seems to confuse the mermaid. “Don’t act like you care. You don’t even know her.”
“Do you wish death on all the people you don’t know?” Percy can’t help but snap. Is it really so hard to believe that he doesn’t want her to die? That’s a low bar.
A pause follows his statement. “You’re a strange one,” the mermaid eventually mutters. “Don’t tell anyone about us.” With that, he dunks himself under the water and disappears into the ocean.
Percy stares after him, only further intrigued by the conversation. He’ll have to do even more research.
*LINEBREAK*
It takes almost a month for them to return again, this time together. Percy is almost asleep on his chair when a familiar voice calls out his name. Eyes fluttering open, he is met with the sight of both Vex and her still nameless brother near the shore.
A smile comes over his face. “You’re looking better!” he calls, shielding the sun with his hand.
Vex laughs, hiking herself up to sit on one of the rocks that jut out from the sea, revealing her shimmering tail.  “All thanks to you.”
Percy waves off her statement with a flourish of his hand. “Don’t mention it.”
“See, brother? I told you he was nice,” Vex chides, splashing him with her fin. “You didn’t have to come and threaten him.”
“I still say it’s dangerous,” he responds, glaring at Percy. “Hurt my sister and I’ll kill you!”
It’s so sudden that Percy can’t help but chuckle, especially when Vex exclaims, “Vax! What did I just say?!”
The one apparently named Vax scowls, either at Vex’s complaint or Percy’s lack of fear.
“If it’s any consolation, I’m notoriously harmless,” he offers, stretching out his arms to reveal the lack of muscles.
Vex laughs again, head thrown back. Vax does not, but there’s a slight, very slight, twitch to his lips.
“Come now, Darling, don’t sell yourself short,” Vex croons. The pet name makes his heart patter pathetically. “I’m sure you’ve got some tricks up your sleeves. I bet you could take down Vax any day.” It’s solely said to annoy her brother, and they all know it’s nowhere near true.
Still, Vax growls. “Definitely not.”
“If you’re going to be such a grump, then you can go,” Vex hums, nudging her brother away with her tail. He doesn’t budge.
“And leave you alone with him?”
Vex rolls her eyes, and it’s so exaggerated that Percy can see it even from yards away. “Are you forgetting that I can take care of myself?”
“It’s true! I don’t stand a chance!” Percy admits. Vex points to him in validation. “I cannot overstate how little of a threat I pose.”
This time, Vax does smile all the way, ducking his head to try and hide it. Vex’s glee is staggering. “I saw that little grin! You’re warming up to him, don’t deny it!” she exclaims, only giggling when Vax swats at her.
“You’re the worst,” he groans, but for the first time, there’s humor in his tone.
Vex ignores the taunt. “So, Percival Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III,” she begins, winking when Percy raises an impressed eyebrow at her memory. “Have you missed me?”
“Why do you think I keep coming back?” he replies, light blush dusting his cheeks. He’s good at this. Talking. It’s something that was burned into him from an early age, so he could know how to appeal to nobles and secure alliances. Still, this is different. Lighter. There are no expectations with Vex, nothing he has to live up to, really. He can just… be himself.
“Well, I’m sorry to keep you waiting. Overprotective brothers can be hard to escape.”
“Fuck off,” Vax hisses. “What is this, ‘Gang Up on Vax Day’?”
“Every day is ‘Gang Up on Vax Day’. You make it easy.” In response to his sister’s jibe, Vax fully lunges at her, knocking her off the rock perch and into the water. She shrieks right before being submerged.
“Oh, you arse!” Vex cries when she once again rises to the surface.
Vax wades away from her so he’s out of reach. “You started it. I finished it, like I always do.”
“Oh, this isn’t finished, brother. Just you wait,” she promises, reaching out to try and dunk him under. Before she can, Vax turns and speeds away, far faster than Percy thought possible, even for a mermaid. “Sorry, Percy, but I have a brother to plot against.”
Percy grins. “Just come back soon, alright?”
“Of course! I can’t leave my favorite human, not when the fun is just starting!” With those words and a wink thrown over her shoulder, Vex chases after her brother, gliding away until she’s lost in the blue waves.

So I'm reading your works and I love them !! I was thinking of requesting some kind of drabble or whatever you like, about a female reader who has thick thighs and is somewhat plump and is in love with Tsukishima but he makes a comment about the food and she feels bad and when she meets Bokuto in the boot camp Bokuto is too cute and attentive to her asking for her number and a date. If you don't feel comfortable with this, just ignore it and good luck with your blog. Sorry my english is bad<3

Tsukishima
You and Tsukishima have been dating in your first year (as you both went to the same middle school together.)
You were in love with Tsukishima, you always have been to be honest, but once you became officially boyfriend and girlfriend your feelings amplified.
But recently, Tsukishima hasn’t been so nice.
“Y/N we’re going on another training camp at Nekoma” Hinata exclaimed running up to you, as you leaning against Tsukishima “and you get to come too this time!”
You recently became the new trainee manager as the third-year manager, Kikyoko, is going to graduate. Tsukishima acted as if you being around all the time in practice was the worst thing in the world, but Yamagucchi always assured you that ‘Tsukki’ was just joking.
“Oh well that’s fun...” you say entertaining Hinata’s excitement. You were kind of excited to go to the training camp too, as it was in Tokyo after all. You were always a big fan of volleyball as your dad used to play for the national team and you were planning to play on the girls team this year but you felt that you didn’t have the body for it (which was obviously not true.)
Hinata kept on rambling on before Tsukishima insulted him. “Gosh Kei, you don’t have to be so rude.” you complained, he slightly nudged you off of him and put on his headphones showing you that he was not in a good mood.
You let the rest of the practice continue, making notes of things and basically being Kiyoko’s shadow. As it ended, you waited outside for Tsukishima to walk home with you, but one of the guys told you he left 5 minutes ago. You knew there was no point of chasing after him so you just walked on your own, making you sigh in defeat.
Tsukishima was what you would describe as hot and cold. Some days he was fine a ‘perfect gentlemen’ but other days, days like this Tsukishima was just Tsukishima.
When you got home, you decided to watch matches of all the other schools just to get some insight. You were watching a Fukarodani V Nekoma match from a few years ago and something caught your eye, well someone did to be more specific. A beefy, bicolour haired boy who was hooting like an owl was mesmerizing to watch.
You saw that his name was Bokuto Koutarou which triggered your next actions, which were to internet stalk him. You learned that he was the captain of the team and the team’s ace and the 5th ace in the country which piqued your interest in the boy even more.
‘This is going to be an exciting training camp’ you think to yourself before going to sleep.
`Kiyoko gave you an itinerary of all the things you should bring, since you weren’t going to be joining in any of the matches you were reminded to bring things that would keep entertained.
You get to the bus at the crack of dawn, ready to be driven to Tokyo. Hinata and Kageyama were already arguing (let’s pretend that they didn’t have to do the retakes in the test) Tanaka and Nishinoya were being loud, and the rest of the members were already asleep. You wanted to sit next to Tsukishima but when you were about to sit down, he put his carryon bag in the seat next to him.
The bus ride was around 4-5 hours, and you spent your time reading and sleeping. Daichi got the loudmouths to calm down making the bus ride more tolerable. You suffered from slight motion sickness but you powered through.
When you arrived there, you saw all the other teams and their buses too. You felt a bit overwhelmed, seeing these tall boys just crowd around an entrance way. But too your surprise, noticing your slight anxiousness, Tsukishima grabbed your hand in a hand-hold.
The Nekoma coach, explained how the day would pan out and where each team would be residing for the week. There was a lot of commotion getting everyone settled, Hinata and Nishinoya were basically bouncing off of the wall commenting on all the people and the place and how they’re going to ‘crush the competition.’
You could tell that when the other teams were looking at Karasuno they were all staring at Kiyoko. Inquisitive about how there wasn’t only one girl manager but there was two. As you were walking your eyes locked with Bokuto Koutarou’s making yours widen, you blush and turn your head quickly.
What you didn’t know was, after your small interaction, Bokuto elbowed Akaashi and said “Akaaashi AKKAAASHI, did ya see that? did ya?” he was flying with happiness “That girl from Karasuno smiled at me. She’s really pretty.”
“I think she’s from Karasuno” Akaashi said “So maybe you’ll see her around”
Bokuto stared off in the direction you were walking in “Yeah, hopefully.”
The first day, everyone got settled in and then the teams went straight into games. There were two different gyms and today, in gym 1, you were watching Karasuno V Nekoma. (By the way I literally don’t remember the teams at the training camp besides Nekoma, Karasuno and Fukarodani.) The game was very back a point each team making point after point, you already knew of Nekoma’s captain, Kuroo Testurou and the setter Kenma, you’ve actually played games with Kenma online before so you were fairly acquainted with him already.
The games ended and it was now dinner time, the canteen was packed with all the boys rushing to line up for the food. You waited at the back of the line, not really caring about when you got your food. Suddenly, you felt a tap on your shoulder and you looked over to see Boktuo,
“Hi.” he said “I’m Bok-”
“Bokuto Koutarou!” You finished “I'm a big fan..” you cringed immediately at your excitement ‘pull it together Y/N’ you scold yourself.
“Oh well hi, I’m glad you know who I am” he said “and may I ask for your name?”
“Oh I’m Y/N L/N” you say with a slight blush “I'm the trainee manager from Karasuno.”
“Cool! Well I hope to see you aro-” he starts
“Y/N, I’ve been looking all over for you, I already got your food for you.” Tsukishima said pulling at your arm a bit harshly, dragging you over to a table with the Karasuno team.
“Gosh Tsukki, no need to be so harsh” you say rubbing at your wrist, he didn’t apologize and just started eating his food.
You look down at your plate and see the small portion that Tsukki got for you. The Karasuno bunch was being loud, as they usually are, so when you whisper “Tsukki what the fuck is this” whilst nudging him in the side, he didn’t hear you (or atleast he pretended he didn’t.) You tried again but a little louder saying, “Tsukishima what the fuck is this.” you realised you said it a bit too loud as the whole Karasuno table stopped their conversations to look over at the slight commontion you caused.
“What do you mean Y/N?” he said with a slight smirk on his face.
“I mean what’s with the portion size of a bird that you gave me?” you ask getting upset “Do you really think im that big?”
“Well, you could start eating less that’s for sure.” he said earning gasps from you and some of the people sitting at the table “Y/N let's face it, you eat like a pig and you look like an elephant, me making your food portion smaller is the least I could do.”
By now you had tears in your eyes, Tsukishima was a dick. You knew this, everybody knew this to be honest, yet you still loved him. He wasn’t like this in middle school, yes he was a bit snarky and rude (but wasn’t every middle schooler?) High school Tsukishima was like a completely different person. As much as you wanted to run away and hide, you knew you couldn’t.
So you stood up and said “Tsukishima, I’ve spent 3 years loving and pining after you, because I thought you were this great guy, but turns out you’re a huge asshole” you start making some of the people listening in smile in laughter “Tsukishima, I’ve hated this past year dating you, you’ve been such a huge dick and I’m finally stopping you. I can’t do this anymore. I won’t.” You start making your way to exit before finally saying “Oh and by the way I’m not the pig here, you are... oh and I’m breaking up with you.” You left, hearing a few laughs and some claps behind you.
You felt relieved, like the massive cloud that’s been over your head is finally gone. You went to the gym since you knew it was empty and picked up a ball to just throw it around a bit. After a while of ‘de-stressing,’ you hear someone else enter the gym.
“Oh I didn’t know you’d be here.” said Bokuto
“Well here I am,” you say awkwardly “I can leave if you want me too, I know this is for actual volleyball players.”
“No no it’s fine you can definitely stay, in fact do you mind setting for me?” he asks
“Sure, of course I don’t mind” you reply, excited you get to play with someone.  You haven’t played in ages, you always begged Tsukishima to just throw a ball around with you but he never did.
You set to Boktuo a lot, with him always asking for ‘another one’ everytime he spiked the ball. Eventually, you were tired of setting and wanted to spike. You originally was a spiker to begin with taking after your dad. Thats why you took a liking to Bokuto in the first place cause he reminded you of the joys you had when watching your father play.
Bokuto set a ball to you and you spiked it with great strength and accuracy smiling at the burning feeling you felt in your palm.
“Woahh” Bokuto shouted going towards you in amazement “Where did you learn how to spike like that?”
“From my dad, I don’t know if you heard of him before but my dad’s name is D/N L/N...?” you say
“D/N L/N, Y/N he is my idol!” he shouted again “I want to be just like him.”
“I think you can, I see a lot of similarites in the way you both play.” you say
“Really! And you’ve seen me play before..?” he asks
“Yeah, I watched some of your games before coming here... you’re really good” you shyly admit.
“Wow.”
You and Bokuto spend the rest of your time, talking about volleyball you’re interests, things you have in common, your likes and dislikes. Talking to Bokuto was refreshing, he didn’t randomly insult you or make snide comments about your weight or your looks. He just genuinely looked happy to be there talking to you, unlike Tsukishima.
Seeing your change in mood, Bokuto stops talking and asks “are you alright? I forgot to ask earlier, but I saw what happened in the canteen and I hope you’re okay.”
“Yeah I’m fine, it’s just things with me and Tsukishima reached a breaking point, I guess...” you say sniffling a bit talking about it “But it’s fine now I’ve broken up with him and I feel better already.”
“So you’re saying your single...?” he asked blushing a bit
“Yeah I guess I am...” you smile blushing also.
“Okay great...well I hope this isn’t too forward after everything happened with Tsukki and all but...” he starts “but would you like to go on a date with me?”
“Who me?” you ask as if you weren’t the only other person in the room
“No the volleyball” he responds sarcastically “Of course you Y/N.”
“Are you sure, cause to be honest Bokuto you’re a really good-looking guy” you say making him smile widely “so I think you need someone to match your level in attractiveness” you look down and his smile drops.
“What do you mean?” he asks before realising all the stuff Tsukishima said about you “Y/N you’re beautiful, your face, your body just you.” you blush at his words “when I first saw you when you were walking past us in the entrance way the first thing I thought and said about you was “Akaashi who is that girl she’s beautiful.””
“Really?” you ask with disbelief
“Mhm” he nods excitedly “So will you go on a date with me?”
“I guess so...” you say a bit unsure
“HEY HEY HEY!” he exclaims “I gotta go tell akaashi!” he runs out of the gym in a hurry making you laugh, but he comes back to give you a quick unexpected kiss on the cheek making you smile.
You checked your phone for the time realising that you’ve been with Bokuto for 3 hours and you knew that everyone would be going to sleep now. As you are the manager you slept seperately from the rest of the team but before you went to your sleeping quaters you went to Karasunos.
“Y/N where have you been? We’ve been worried about you.” asked yammagucchi
“It’s fine yams don’t worry about it, guys” you say catching everyones attention “I just wanted to apologise to you for my outburst at dinner, it wasn’t my intention to cause a scence.”
“It’s fine Y/N” said sugawara “He definitely deserved it.”
“Yeah as your marvellous senpai we gave him a good telling off” said Tanaka and Nishinoya  making you chuckle.
“Okay well thanks guys, I’m going to sleep goodnight.”
“Wait Y/N can I speak with you.” asked Tsukishima gesturing to outside the room
“Umm sure” you respond following him into the corridor.
“I just want to say I’m sorry for the things I’ve said and done over the past year and how I’ve been a terrible boyfriend, you don’t deserve that. So, I’m sorry.”
“I can’t say I can forgive you yet.” you say making Tsukishima look sad “but maybe with effort from you we can become friends possibly?”
“Just friends?” he said with hope in voice thinking that you could be something more.
“Just friends.” you repeated and confirmed “Besides I have been asked on a date”
“With who?”
“None of your business stingyshima” you mock the nickname that Hinata calls him making him scowl and you smile “Goodnight.”
After Bokuto’s confession and Tsukishima’s apology, the rest of the training camp went off without a hitch. In your breaks and lunchtimes, you got to know more about Bokuto and with Kuroo’s help you even got to sneak out to actually go on your date. You sometimes even went to practice with them getting to show off your skills, with Bokuto cheering you on and complimenting you every single time.
Tsukishima kept his distance for the most part, and kept the snarky comments about you and Bokuto to himself (even though he was dying to say them.) You eventually fully forgave Tsukishima in your 3rd year but you definitely weren’t as close as you used to be. Tsukishima’s comments and actions did affect you for a while however with the help of your loving boyfriend, you were reminded how beautiful you are no matter what weight, shape or height you were.
You and Bokuto stayed together, you made sure to come to every one of his games and when you introduced him to your dad he fainted on sight. Your dad and Bokuto got along, and became very close friends, Bokuto always came to him for advice (especially volleyball advice.) You loved Bokuto and he definitely loved you too.
AN: I hope you liked it, since I didn’t want to make it too similar too the Atsumu insecure one. And I feel like it dragged out a bit but got rushed in the endd....but oh well...

Yes, you can be! I'll eventually make an Anon list... Eventually.
In order of: Dream, Bad, Tommy (and Tubbo?), Ranboo, Ghostbur, Philza
Tommy's story is Bench Trio while Ranboo's story is more around Boreal Boys.
The Boreal Boys is set around the Antarctic Empire rather than the DSMP.
Edit: Trying to put a cut in. 50/50 on whether or not it worked.
DSMP Reacting to You Being Turned Into A Zombie (Multiple x GN!Reader)
They grunted, stepping over a fallen log as they yanked a crossbow bolt out of the skull of a fallen zombie, shoving it into their bag where other bolts and arrows were wrapped up. Ignoring the murmuring of their companion(s) as they looked over the faces of rotten flesh, thankfully none of them striking a familiar chord in their mind.
"They could still be alive..." They murmured softly under their breath as they walked back to the campsite that they and their companion(s) had originally set up. With a sigh, they plopped down in front of the crackling flame and adjusted the food that had been cooking before a horde of zombies had made their way through the makeshift barricade.
Ignoring the snores of their sleeping 'teammate(s) of survival', they eagerly dug into the food after it finished cooking before pausing mid-bite as they heard a crackling in the branches. Drawing their sword out from the sheath on their hip while they set their food down back into the pan, they spun around to face their possible attacker, silently hoping it was a wild animal they could use for meat, wool or feathers.
Glancing through the forest, they squinted as they saw movement but the firelight only spread so far which wasn't enough to shed light on the figure. With a sigh, they took a burning branch from the fire and lifted it, beginning to walk forward.
Judging by the guttural growls, groans, and scent of rotting flesh, it was definitely a zombie. Lifting the makeshift torch enough, they were able to see the undead being better and squinted, trying to recognize the creature before it turned around.
(H/c) hair... Albeit matted and overgrown, and torn clothing loosely hanging to their rotten skin... But when the zombie turned their head... They'd recognize them anywhere... Even after so long...
(Y/n).
Dream
His breath caught in his throat temporarily and he felt the torch slip from his hand, but it didn't fall.
Gritting his teeth together, he cringed and gripped onto the damaged smiling mask he usually wore.
"Fuck... (Y/n)... FUCK!" He took a few steps back to avoid the lame swipes you took at him.
He was thankful that your movement was hindered to the point where your steps were small shuffles.
"You promised..." He whispered, looking down at his trademark symbol.
It was a gift from you. Two years ago... You had promised... You promised that you would be okay...
And now here you were... Lifeless but alive... Groaning and gnashing your teeth at him...
He faintly heard the pounding footsteps of George and Sapnap behind him, likely having heard him yell.
"Dream?!" George yelled before the steps immediately came to a stop.
"Is that..."
"They promised..." He whined softly before pinching his eyes shut again as anger quickly overtook him. With a fierce battle cry, he swung his sword.
The strike was sloppy, filled with emotion and too much power. He had a feeling that if Technoblade was around still, he would be mocked to death for such a shitty swing.
But this was a brainless corpse. They couldn't rub two brain cells together to even think about dodging. This wasn't his smart, clever... Cunning... Alive... (Y/n)...
So it hit.
The gleaming diamond sword sliced through the rotten skin like a hot knife through butter, especially easier due to the Fire Aspect engraved into the sword.
He took a sharp intake of breath as he heard the horrible screeching noises that came from you as you sunk to the ground, desperately reaching out to him in one last attempt to get even a taste of his flesh.
He turned from your burning body and placed his mask on to cover his face before his friends saw the silver tears in the corners of his eyes, "Let's go."
"Dre-"
"I said, let's go."
They decided not to comment further.
Bad
He slowly felt the torch slip from his grasp and clatter to the ground, burning the dew-soaked grass it had landed on but it didn't matter.
Groaning and snarling at him, you lamely stumbled forward to grab at him, but he grabbed you first.
The Demon cringed slightly at the feel of rotten flesh beneath his fingers, but he held you back from walking forward.
He dodged the gnashing of your teeth as you tried to bite his arm, but he couldn't bring himself to bring the sword through your chest to finally end your suffering...
He glanced in the direction of the camp where Skeppy was still asleep, hopefully anyway...
Bad knew Skeppy would never agree to keep you around, even if you had once been someone very important to him.
Neither of them knew how zombie bites would affect Diamond Sprites or Demons, and weren't too eager to find out.
"(Y/n)... You muffin..." He put a hand on your chin, preventing you from chomping on his arms, "I wish... I wish I could've said goodbye..."
"Maybe I could've protected you..."
"Would you still be alive if I hadn't stormed out that day?"
He continued whispering questions to your mindless form, but his only responses were watery gurgles and the odd groan.
"Muffin... I'm so sorry..." He whispered, lowering his head to look down at you better, lava tears dripping down his cheeks and landing on your rotting away face, causing horrible screeches and snarls to escape from you, but you didn't yank away.
"Bad?!" Skeppy's voice came from the camp, and he looked over his shoulder to stare at the Diamond Sprite, "What... Why are you..."
"I-I... Skeppy... Do you think... If I had done anything different... They'd be alive?" He whispered, moving aside to let his small friend see his former friend.
The blue-skinned male sighed and loaded an arrow into his bow and grabbed onto the string, getting ready to pull it back, "Bad... You can't rewrite history... What's done is done, it's too late for them..."
"Can... Can you...? I don't think I can..." He whispered and finally let go of you, causing your balance to be set off.
The second he turned his back, he heard the stretching of a bowstring before releasing it. He shut his eyes tightly as he heard the familiar impact of a bow hitting mostly rotten but still solid flesh.
He didn't turn around, instead choosing to keep his head down as his friend brought him back to the camp.
"Goodbye, (Y/n)..."
Tommy (and Tubbo?)
He was frozen stiff, his grip tightening on his sword and the torch as he stared down the undead being.
Honestly, if anyone had asked him why he was still fighting through this damned apocalypse, he would say that he was fighting to survive.
No. He was fighting to make sure you were still alive...
Now, what was left?
"For fuck's sake! You were supposed to be alive!" He yelled, no doubt waking up the camp of other survivors.
"You were the only one- Dammit, (Y/n)!" He cried, ignoring the tears running down his cheeks as he threw a punch that connected to your jaw, cracking the weakened bone almost instantly and causing it to hang like an angered Enderman.
He continued to shout at your undead form and cry, ignoring the worried calls and frantic scrambling of his friends from back at the camp.
"You used to be such a great fighter, and you lost to FUCKING ZOMBIES!" He swung his arms around, his mind barely cluing into the fact that he dropped his sword and torch, "You almost beat Technoblade for fuck's sake! Technoblade! And-and..."
'No. No. Stay angry. They lost the fight. They- Don't mourn their stupidity...' He crumpled to the ground in despair, his tears dropping into his lap as he quickly grew deaf to the sound of shuffling feet.
Luckily, someone ran past him and shoved you to the ground with a shield, sending you rolling into a puddle of mud.
"Tommy!" Tubbo cried, setting down the shield as Ranboo quickly looked him over for any bite marks or injuries.
Once he found none, he gave a large sigh of relief and looked over at the corpse that Tubbo had shield bashed away from his friend, "Oh... Wait..." He frowned, struggling to remember the face that was struggling to crawl their way over to them through the mud.
"That's (Y/n)..." Tommy murmured, sounding rather numb, Tubbo and Ranboo noted, "They taught me and Tubbo to fight, back before we lost L'Manberg... They practically raised us... Despite being a similar age... They were so strong... and brave..."
Tubbo's breath hitched as he took another look at the growling creature desperate to feast on their flesh, "N-No... They're too strong to- I don't- No- No!"
"Guys... I know- I- No, I don't know... But we have to leave. They're going to call more zombies- And... We have to kill them..." Ranboo whispered, flinching a bit when Tubbo and Tommy whipped their heads in his direction, fire burning in their eyes.
Tommy's inner flame was the first to die out.
"I know..." He whispered, ignoring Tubbo's cries of protest as he picked up the diamond sword, twisting it in his hand and watching as the torchlight reflected off of it.
"You can't kill them, Tommy- They're like our older sibling-... Were... like... Our older sibling..." Tubbo corrected himself with hesitance and a sniffle as he looked away.
He turned back to your gurgling form and walked over, moving his feet away from your grabs at his ankles while raising his sword.
With a sharp intake of breath, tears continuing to drip down his cheeks as he rose his sword, "I'm sorry..." He whispered before bringing it down through your chest.
Ranboo
Sure, his memory was bad, but he could NEVER forget the face of the name that was scrawled through his memory book.
He stumbled backwards and tripped over a log with a small yelp, his sword and torch falling from his grip.
The water from the recent rain seeping through his torn clothing caused his skin to hiss, and a small whine tore from his throat as he scrambled backwards.
His noises of pain and distress failed to scare the zombie of his former best friend off, instead only persuaded them to lazily drag their feet towards him a little quicker.
Thankfully, although he was deaf to it amidst his panic and sobs, heavy footsteps and the ruffle of feathers echoed through the forest.
"Ranboo?! Mate, are you okay!?" Hands flew to his shoulders while a pink and red blur hopped the log he had tripped on to start a brawl with the zombie.
"DON'T HURT THEM!" He wailed to Techno, fighting against the hands that held his shoulders to reach out at the zombie.
"Heh?!" Techno used his shield to hold you back, dodging the swipes you took at him with your unkempt nails, "Ranboo! They're dead! A zombie!"
Ranboo sobbed louder, fighting the urge to cover his ears at the horrible words, "(Y/n) isn't dead... They aren't... They can't be! No... no...!"
Calloused hands carded through his black and white hair, which would've calmed him down on a normal day, but now... How could he feel anything but despair? His best friend was now a lifeless being...
They promised that they'd see him again, alive, not like THIS!
"Ranboo..." Phil murmured from behind him, likely having finished checking him for bites. The avian pulled him into his chest, allowing him to bawl his eyes out, the fabric muffling his desperate wails and preventing the tears from burning his skin too much.
"You- you said a gapple and a weakness potion could turn them back, right?!" Ranboo cried, looking up at the elder male, "C-can't we try it out on them?!"
Phil and Techno were silent, and the only sounds that were heard were the crackling fire back at the camp and the gurgles of his former best friend.
Perhaps he panicked himself into a light-headed state, or maybe his memory was worse than before because the next thing he knew Techno was dragging a chained and growling corpse while Philza was practically carrying the enderboy who was pretty much twice his height.
The next few days felt like a fever dream. He spent most of his time sitting in front of a cage where the corpse of his friend laid on the cold stone ground.
Phil had doused them in a splash potion of weakness and forced a golden apple down their throat a few hours after they caged them, now it was Ranboo's job to watch over them for any changes and write them down.
"Yeah then Me, Phil and Techno travelled out of the Tundra back on the DreamSMP, and we made our way to the Antarctic, back to the old Empire that they used to rule over..." He rambled onto your lifeless corpse, reading through his memory book to continue telling you stories, even if you were dead.
"Ran...Boo..."
"(Y-Y/n)?!" He threw the book aside and ran over to the cage, only to see the corpse had gained more of a human flesh tone rather than a sickening green, and formerly black, now (e/c) eyes were staring up at the stone bricks that made up the roof.
Ghostbur
He absolutely lit up with a happy squeal.
"(Y/n)! I knew you would make it through this whole apocalypse thing!" The ghost walked over and put his hand on your shoulder, brushing off the way that you didn't flinch away from the intense cold that radiated off of him.
You only continued walking...
"Oh? Do you know of any shelter? Lead the way then!" He chirped, pulling on the lead that was hooked up to the blue sheep he knew as Friend.
The two of you walked through the forests, Ghostbur blabbering away about memories he had involving you both, but he had a tight grasp on something blue the entire time.
You never responded to him, other than the odd groan or gurgle, but the ghost never found anything wrong with it.
Inside, he knew that you were an animated corpse. He knew that you would never be able to lose your three canon lives, and become a ghost.
Instead, you were stuck as a corpse that would perpetually come back to life over and over again until your body completely got destroyed.
Every time he looked at your growling form, he wanted to feel happy, you were back travelling with him! But... You weren't the same person...
"Wil- Ghostbur!" A voice came from behind him, and he saw the father of Aliverbur standing in front of him, sword at the ready.
"Phil!" He chirped, moving beside you and holding your shoulder, so you didn't run towards Philza, "Hey, how's it going man?" He smiled widely.
The flightless avian put his hand on his hat as he watched you reach towards him uselessly, being held back by the ghost of his son, "Ghostbur... That's not..."
"(Y/n)? Yes, it is!" He continued to smile, although it seemed a little forced, "It's just been a while, don't be so negative, Philza Minecraft!"
He sighed heavily, "Wil, that is not (Y/n) anymore. They are a senseless mob!" He reached for his sword, only to blink when Ghostbur quickly ran in front of you.
"No, no! It is! It is them!" He sobbed, his tears burning his transparent skin as his body shook with horrible coughs. "Please... It is... It is..."
"Okay, okay." He put his sword in the sheath and held up his hands in surrender to make Ghostbur stop crying, "It is, it's (Y/n)... Go say hi to Techno and get some food for Friend... I'm going to talk to them."
Ghostbur wiped his eyes with his sweater and eagerly nodded, "Okay! I haven't spoken to Techno in so long, I hope he's been doing okay..." He continued to ramble as he walked to the attached cabins next to the mountain, dragging Friend along.
Philza turned back to you and drew his sword, watching as you dragged your feet through the snow to reach him, "I'm sorry, (Y/n)... He just... Doesn't understand that you're stuck suffering..."
"Philzaaaa!" Ghostbur skipped out the door, pulling his blue sheep along as Philza sheathed his netherite sword, "Where did (Y/n) go?"
The avian folded his wings to his back under his cape as he looked over his shoulder, "Oh, they were going towards the portal. They said they would be back soon."
"Oh, they finally spoke? I'm so proud of them! I'll wait for them here!" Ghostbur smiled widely, completely unaware of the burning corpse hidden behind the trees.
Philza
Maybe he should've felt something more...?
Then again... He was the Angel of Death, he caused and attracted death like a magnet with a knife.
He swung his sword simply, watching as the corpse burned and crumpled to the ground before him with desperate wails and growls.
First Wilbur... Then Tommy... Now (Y/n)... Who was next, Ranboo or Techno?
He sighed, turning away from yet another person who had meant the world to him but was now nothing but rotting burnt flesh on the stark white snow.
"Phil!" Ranboo gave a chirping noise, a static-filled deformed mimic of one of the noises he often made due to his avian genetics, "Are you alright? One of the traps went off an-"
He wanted to smile, he did. He wanted to tell the boy who was practically shaking with worry as he checked him for bites that he was alright.
"It... Was (Y/n)..." He murmured softly, feeling... Oddly calm about the situation... Or was that empty? It was like how he felt after he killed his son...
Ranboo's bi-coloured eyes slowly rose up to meet Phil's blue ones and almost cringed as he saw that he was practically looking through him, "You... Mean, your..."
"Yeah... That's them. B-But it's okay-" He went to say but Ranboo gave an upset growl sort of noise as his monochrome tail wrapped around one of his lanky and abnormally long legs.
"Okay?! Phil, you just killed one of the most important people in your life... You- You aren't okay! You're numb!" The Enderman grabbed his shoulders... And the feeling of floating that he hadn't even noticed came to a sudden halt.
Oh. He was numb... That's why he didn't feel it...
Wait when did Ranboo bring him inside?
He slowly glanced out the window to see the sun had set long ago, and the fire in the fireplace had practically died out. Ranboo was curled up on the couch on the other side of him, and Techno was nowhere to be seen.
'I killed them... Without a second thought...' His mind caught up with the situation much slower than his body had, and he slouched against the arm of the couch he was propped up against.
'I killed them like I killed Wilbur...'
'Terrible person... Horrible...'
'I kill everyone I love...'
'Techno and Ranboo are left... They're in danger from you too...'
"Phil?" A hand grabbed one of the ones that were entangled in his long golden locks, "Hey, hey... I want you to listen to my voice, okay? You're okay... Follow my breathing..."
When did he start crying?

Albert Plots aka coda to 4x02
One of Bucks house rules is: don't barge into my room unannounced.
It only becomes a house rule, of course, after Albert inadvertently interrupts his therapy session as he's mid sentence.
"Oh crap, sorry sorry, I didn't realize--I mean, I thought--sorry." Albert finishes lamely, cringing at his own intrusion.
Buck practically chucks his tablet across his bed, face down, in his surprise. “Dude, knock.”
Albert shrugs, grimacing apologetically. “You don’t have a door though?”
Buck sighs, running a hand through his hair nervously. “Just...announce yourself next time, ok? Like, yell ‘I’m coming up’ or whatever.”
Albert nods. “Sorry.” he mutters again.
Buck decides the kid looks contrite enough that he can brush the whole thing off--it’s not like he overheard anything. “It’s ok, don’t worry, we’re good. What’s up? You needed something?”
“I wanted to see if you wanted to order pizza but um,” Chimneys little brother pauses and scratches the back of his head. “Are you ok?”
Buck gulps. “Uh, yeah, I--why wouldn’t I be?” Well shit, Buck thinks, maybe he did overhear a tidbit or two, after all...
“Well,” Albert purses his lips to one side. “What you said just now, about hiding your feelings? Sorry, I really didn’t mean to eavesdrop--I was hungry and didn’t think before running up here. But um, listen, if you ever need an ear or a shoulder,” he shrugs delicately. “You’ve been there for me before a few times now. I like to think we’re good friends, so I want you to know you can always count on me to be there if you need someone. That’s all.”
Buck would be touched if he weren’t also kind of mortified over having been caught spilling his guts to Dr. Copeland. Albert must see that, because he immediately moves to change the subject. “So, pizza?”
“Yup,” Buck clears his throat. “Sal’s is the best joint in the area, their menu’s on the fridge, call and order whatever you want. I’ll umm, I’ll join you in a little bit.”
"Ok." Albert scurries off quickly enough and Buck feels a little bad for not being more reassuring that he's not upset with him. But it's hard; being vulnerable, that is.
********
An hour later dinner is silent and just a tiny bit awkward between the two men.
It's only after a couple of beers that Buck loosens up enough to blurt out, "I'm in love with Eddie."
Albert blinks up at him in surprise. "Oh shit." His face breaks out into a happy grin. "Dude, that's awesome! I always thought you two would be good together. Actually, I gotta admit, I thought you two were dating when we first met at that bar. So it makes sense." Albert's voice trails off upon realizing how red Buck's face has gone. "Wait, did you not--you know? Know?" Albert's eyes grow wide.
Buck shrugs. "I kinda always knew? But I mean, the Eddie thing is..." He groans, "How am I supposed to tell my best friend I'm in love with him? It would ruin everything."
Albert shakes his head adamantly. "No way man, you said it yourself, Eddie's your best friend, your feelings for him wouldn't 'ruin' anything. Even if by some crazy chance he doesn't feel the same way it's not like he'd stop being friends with you."
Buck rubs a hand up his shoulder and bites on his bottom lip. "But what if that's exactly what happens? I don't wanna hide my feelings anymore, from anyone, but I don't think I can take that risk--it's too big, I could lose too much."
Albert has seen the way Eddie looks at Buck when he thinks no one is else is paying attention. “Look man, I’m not exactly the observant type--Howie can tell you that--but even I can see Eddie’s heart eyes when he’s looking in your direction.”
Buck groans, hiding his face in his hands. “I just don’t wanna mess up what we have.” he looks up, his expression sullen. “We’ve got a good thing going.” he shrugs. “If I confess my feelings there’s a chance--” he sighs, hanging his head. “I can’t do it.”
Albert reaches over and squeezes his shoulder in support. Suddenly an idea strikes him. “Hey,” he jumps up. “What if I could prove to you that Eddie’s just as into you as you are, into him? Would you say something then?”
Buck lifts his head to look Albert in the eye, “How would you go about doing that?”
Albert waves him off. “You don’t gotta worry about that part. Just trust me.”
Buck raises a brow, dubious. “Ok, but you need to promise you won’t say anything about my feelings to Eddie--or to anyone, for that matter. Not even Chimney can know.”
“I swear, not a word!”
*********
Albert strikes over the weekend, during a friendly game of basketball with the 118. Albert had originally only been intending to play one on one with Chim, like usual, but had convinced him to invite everyone at the station, too, last minute.
“Buck’s on my team!” Albert declares, before anyone can even truly get settled.
Chim glares at Albert. “Oh yeah, call dibs on our tallest guy.”
Albert shrugs, throwing an arm around Buck and pulling him close. “And let’s not forget the most handsome.” he winks at Buck with the subtlety of a fire engine racing across town.
Chim raises a questioning brow at his brother but otherwise doesn’t comment. “Uh huh. Anyway, then I want Eddie on my team.”
Eddie steps up beside Chim, giving Buck a look. “Ready to get your ass handed to you?”
Buck scoffs. “I have the power of youth on my side, thanks.” he says, pointing to Albert.
Bobby clears his throat. “This is starting to feel a lot like a middle school gym class, where I’m picked last for teams.”
Hen bumps his fist in camaraderie. “Preach, Cap.”
“Hen, I call Hen!” Chimney immediately announces, practically dragging his best friend over to his side.
“Good, cause I was gonna pick Captain Nash anyway.” Albert sticks his tongue out.
Buck grins when Bobby walks over to stand beside him. His parents never let him play sports when he was a kid--he had to forge their signatures for whatever ‘dangerous’ activity he wanted to participate in, and so he and his dad had never gotten to toss the ball around in the backyard the way most of his friends had, growing up.
Being on the same team with Bobby now kind of feels like that. Not that he’d say it out loud. He’s way too old for that stuff now. Not to mention the fact that now he has to focus on both the game and on whatever Albert is plotting with him and Eddie.
Buck sighs. He should’ve kept his big mouth shut.
The game starts out friendly enough, some playful jabs thrown here and there, but Buck can tell Albert and Chimney are out for blood, knocking elbows and teasing the other when they miss a shot. Though, he concedes, they are siblings, and well, he and Maddie, even at this age, can still get a little overly zealous when competing with one another. So he’s not too worried.
They take a break about half way through the game, sweaty and tired from running around so much, when Albert starts to speak. “Man, I can’t wait for that double date next Friday.”
Chim glances up at him from the bench, where he’s rehydrating. “You’re going on a date? First I’ve heard.”
Albert nods. “Yup. With Buck and these two really cool chicks I met at the coffee shop a couple of weeks ago.”
Eddie furrows his brows. “Did you say Friday?”
Albert nods, knowing exactly where this is going.
Eddie turns to Buck, who’s trying his best to telepathically communicate with Albert to cut it out before he strangles the kid. “Uh, Friday’s game night.” he says, his tone slightly accusatory.
Bobby’s eyes dart between the two men curiously. Hen presses her lips together. “Game night?”
Eddie nods. “Every Friday we get together at my place and do a game night. Christopher looks forward to ‘em every week.”
Albert cuts in before Buck can say anything. “Wow, you two sound like a married couple with a kid.” he teases. “But I mean, what’s the big deal, missing one game night? Buck could meet the love of his life Friday night. Isn’t that a little more important?”
Eddie makes a face none of the crew can really read. “Guess you’re right.” he agrees reluctantly, picking up the ball and passing it to Chimney just a tad on the rough side. “Break’s over, let’s get back to it, yeah?” He steps out into the court without looking back, his shoulders set rigidly.
Albert grins at Buck, whispering as the others head to the court as well, “It’s working!”
“He looks like he wants to kill someone.” Buck half whispers back, eyes wide. “Your plan sucks.”
“Shh, you’ll be thanking me later, now c’mon, let’s go!” Albert runs into the court and takes his position at the front, between Buck and Bobby.
Buck can’t help but focus entirely on Eddie’s sour mood during the game, which is probably why he doesn’t notice the uneven asphalt as he goes to catch Bobby’s toss until it’s too late. He loses his footing and goes down hard.
Buck’s back and side hit the pole connected to the basketball net and the damn thing actually shakes with the force of the collision. Bobby is on him instantly, helping him up and asking if he’s alright. Buck tries to say he’s fine, but the moment he’s standing he bends over, wrapping an arm around himself, wincing in pain. “Hurts.” he admits.
Eddie sprints across the ball court to help Bobby get Buck to the benches where he can sit and they can see what’s going on. Hen lifts his shirt and grimaces tightly at the humongous ugly bruise already forming against his back and part of his chest. “Jesus, Buck.” she feels around that area.
Buck gasps at the onslaught of pain and tries his best not to flinch away from her.
“Definitely some bruised ribs, Buck,” Hen tells him sympathetically, pulling down his shirt as gently as she can. “Possibly fractured. I would definitely get this checked out in the ER, in case they’re broken. They’ll need to do an x-ray and a CT just to rule it out.”
Buck groans. “Can’t I just ice it?”
“C’mon,” Bobby shakes his head, helping Buck get up. “I’m taking you--”
Eddie interrupts, his hand on Buck’s shoulder. “I can go. Christopher’s at a sleepover today, so I’m free anyway.” he volunteers.
Buck is in too much pain to argue with either of them, and ends up in the front passenger seat of Eddie’s truck. Bobby makes Eddie promise to text the team updates.
**********
Eddie fills out Bucks form so he can hold an ice pack to his side while they wait in the ER. Once he’s done he hands it to the nurse at the front desk and sits down next to Buck. “How ya’ feeling?”
Buck knows there isn’t a point to lying, not when he needed to lean the majority of his weight on the other man from the car to the waiting room, after all. “Like the whole left side of me got hit by a car.”
“Here, gimme that, I’ll hold it for you.” Eddie takes the ice pack and places it gently against his side, grimacing when Buck cringes. “Hurt a lot?”
“Only when I breath.” Buck jokes, though it’s not too far from the truth. “You know you don’t have to stay here with me, I can call an Uber to drive me home. The place is packed, we’re probably gonna be waiting for hours.”
Eddie rolls his eyes. “I’m not leaving you, so this had better be your first and last attempt at getting me to go.”
Buck sighs. “Fine.”
“Good.” Eddie clears his throat. “So...”
Buck turns his eyes towards him. “So?”
“You’re really not coming to game night Friday?”
Buck looks away. He doesn’t want to lie to Eddie, but how crazy would he look if he told him Albert made all that up--in order to admit the truth he’d also have to confess his feelings for his best friend, and there’s just no way in hell that’s happening. “Yeah,” he says instead, “Sorry, I was planning on telling you later today, it just kinda slipped my mind.”
Eddie hums, pursing his lips. “No it’s cool, Albert’s right. She might be the one.” he says, though it’s said dryly.
Buck looks up at him from underneath his long lashes, curiously. “And uh, if she is?”
“Then,” Eddie shrugs, “Good for you.”
Buck nods.
An uncomfortable silence falls upon the two men and it’s another half hour of awkwardness before Eddie picks up the conversation again.
“You know what,” he starts, turning to Buck, “I lied. Not good for you.”
Buck blinks at the bluntness. “What?”
“I don’t want you to go on that date. And I don’t want to cancel game night. I know it’s selfish and I’m being kind of psycho right now, but I think I’m jealous?” Eddie’s mouth snaps shut, as though he hadn’t meant to say any of that out loud. Like the words simply spilled forth without his brains permission.
“You’re jealous? Of...what?” Buck doesn’t dare to hope this is what he thinks it is.
Eddie groans, putting down the ice pack for a moment and turning his chair completely to the side so he can face Buck fully. “I know I said Christopher looks forward to game nights, and he does, but so do I. I look forward to spending time with the two of you together and I get excited when our shifts line up on certain weeks and I’m getting tired of saying goodnight and watching you walk to your Jeep, all because I’m too much of a coward to just say--” Eddie stops himself, his chest aching, the words caught in his throat.
“I’m in love with you.” Buck blurts out.
“You--” Eddie stammers. “You are?” he asks in disbelief.
Buck gulps, his cheeks heating up. “For a while now, I think. I just...hadn’t realized until recently.” Dr. Copeland had been a huge part of figuring that out.
“Christ,” Eddie doesn’t waste a second more. He takes Bucks face in his hands and brings their foreheads together right then and there. “Can I...?”
Buck nods, their lips brushing slightly with the motion. “Please.”
Eddie kisses him, softly, tentatively, before pulling away just a bit. “I love you.” he confesses breathlessly.
Buck thinks his heart might actually burst out of his chest.
Man, Albert is never gonna let him hear the end of this.

In Ikevamp’s time period however, his priority is always comfort. He’s wear leather pants with either a white silk or cotton button up. (Tiddies out ofc because he is shameless)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Background: Turned in 1510 by Lorenzo de Medici, Botticelli was initially unaware that he had even died and been resurrected as a vampire. As someone who greatly appreciates life, he was angry at first about being brought back without his permission, and immediately left the Medici court. For several decades he traveled the world and realized there was so much undiscovered beauty just waiting to be discovered and immortalized by him. Since then he made it his goal to seek out that beauty wherever he could, and create a painting so extravagant and ethereal that it would put the sun, moon, and stars to shame.
Personality: He is one of the most outgoing people in the mansion. He is not afraid to speak his mind and often compliments random people he meets in town. He is very genuine, almost to a fault. He always sees the good in others and can be a bit naive at times, only because he choses to believe people at face value. His  authenticity and trust in others, inspire the people he cares about to believe in themselves and become more confident. He also tends to have a flair for the dramatic, basically the embodiment of “I’ll get over it, I just need to be dramatic first”. He can be a bit dreamy and carefree, tossing awareness of his surroundings. (One time he went horseback riding with Leonardo and saw a pretty flower. He spaced out, thinking about how he would paint it in the hands of a beautiful person and ended up getting thrown off his horse when he almost rode into a tree. A true himbo). His carefree attitude however, can leave him a bit detached from people. While he’s very empathetic, he doesn’t know what to do when those emotions are coming from him. Finding beauty is his motivation after being brought back, but what happens when he realizes beauty isn’t the only reason he’s so drawn to you?
In Love: At first, he simply thought he was attracted to you for your beauty. After all, that’s the reason he was drawn to people in the past. He understand’s beauty very well, but he doesn't know what true love feels like from his own perspective. A major conflict for him would be realizing that the reason his heart races after time you smile at him, isn't because he simply finds you worthy of his art. He is hopelessly in love with you.
“Oh don’t worry, I’m just holding your hand because its pretty haha...”
He can be oblivious at the beginning and won’t understand why you’re jealousy that he’s admiring other people for their beauty. It’s only because he wants them to be art subjects right?
But once he has come to terms with his feelings, he will be the sweetest lover you can ask for. You are a goddess to him, his one and only muse, and he will make sure you know that he worships every single part of you. (He will definitely ask to paint you nude because “beauty such as yours absolutely must be captured. I only hope I can capture your radiance the way you deserve Amore”)
Hobbies: Painting, Meddling in people’s business, Stargazing
Dislikes: Dishonest and close minded people, Spicy Food
Favorite Food: Crème Brûlée
Hated Food: Banana
Weaknesses: Physical fighting, Math, Situational awareness.
Speciality: Making people smile, Chaos
Extra Things:
-Lorenzo brought him back because he believed it would be a waste for the world to loose such talent so quickly.
- He arrived at the mansion to surprise Leonardo after hearing he was still alive. It was supposed to be a temporary stay but he fell in love with Paris and asked Comte if he could move in with them.
- Sandro is a great singer and dancer and is often asked by Mozart to sing one of his pieces for him. However he only agrees if he is allowed to draw Mozart after. (He can’t help it, Mozart and Jean are so ethereally beautiful, they just have to be drawn.)
- While he is extremely talented artistically, he doesn't know how to cook, wash dishes, or hail a carriage. Sebastian has officially banned him from the kitchen after he set the cupboards on fire trying to make a cake. (Theo nearly had a stroke after taking a bite and realizing he mixed up the salt and sugar)
- He is already very hyper, and he is not allowed to touch coffee. One time Arthur gave him a cup and he was awake all night trying to turned all the residents into the perfect models. He carried their sleeping bodies to the garden and arranged them to resemble the 12 Olympians. Jean woke up the next morning curled up at Comte’s feet and since then he has banned Botticelli from visiting his room or painting him.
- Botticelli originally met Leonardo while they were both studying in Verrocchio’s workshop, and he considers Leo to be like an older brother to him. Being the two college-age dumbasses they are, they decided to move in together and start working as waiters in a nearby restaurant. After most of the staff died from the plague, Leonardo came up with the bright idea of rebranding the restaurant, calling it called "Le tre rane di Sandro e Leonardo" (the Three Frogs of Sandro and Leonardo), and serving gourmet cuisine. It ended up being a failure because most of their customers were not used to the innovative new food being served.
- A threeway with Leonardo is definitely a possibility for you.
- He has a pet peacock named Juno.
- Sometimes he lays down in the garden and watches the clouds imagining different animals based on their shapes.
- Surprising Botticelli is very good friends with Dazai, and his positive outlook on life has helped Dazai appreciate his own existence. None of the other residents understand their conversations but it makes perfect sense between them.
- He cannot handle spicy food. One time Dazai slipped chili powder into his dinner and his face turned red while he teared up. To this day he internally shudders every time he sees the others eating something spicy without flinching.
- He tries to avoid conflicts as much as he can because he tends to get emotional very quickly. Being so empathetic can be draining to him and getting into a fight hurts him more than it will ever hurt the other person.
- He loves making random sketches of you and the other residents, and he will leave them your respective rooms with a small note reminding everyone that they are appreciated.
- His love language is physical touch and he has a habit of kissing everyone on the cheek or forehead.
- Something about Napoleon’s room is so cozy and welcoming that it makes him sleepy. He’s woken up cuddling Napoleon many times. Yes they have kissed each other.
- Though, he doesn’t like taking naps with Leonardo because sleeping on the floor makes all his bones hurt.
- He has a sweet tooth that rivals Theo. Between the two of them, any desserts Sebastian buys, are eating within 2 days.
- Sandro loves shopping with Comte and he constantly asks Leonardo to let him pick out a new wardrobe. He cringes every time he sees those mismatched boots.
- Shakespeare is the only resident that makes him a bit wary. He is very good at figuring out when people are lying and Will’s personality unsettles him.
- Besides Leonardo, Vincent is his favorite resident. Sandro appreciates how kind and welcoming he is, and his favorite pastime is painting with him. If he ever hears people talk bad about Vincent he will not hesitate to give that person a piece of his mind.
- Sandro is a bi king who develops crushes very easily, but most of them are fleeting and superficial. He had a major crush on Leonardo that he quickly got over after they became friends. When they lived together, Leo would often tease him for his habit of falling for people so quickly and moving on within a week.
- Modern Botticelli would be a major Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, and FKA Twigs fan.
- One time he was running to show Dazai a pretty butterfly he found and he was so distracted by it that he didn’t notice the tree branch right in front of him. He ran into it so hard that he knocked himself out for 30 minutes and Napoleon had to carry him back inside the mansion.
Other characters he is similar to: Ranpo Edogawa, Tamaki Suoh, Grell Sutcliff
I’m going to be using Ikevamp Botticelli so you can follow that tag if you want to hear more about him!

First Lines Meme
Tagged by @sidleyparkhermit
List the first lines of the last 10 stories you published. Look to see any patterns you notice yourself, and see if anyone else notices any. Then tag some friends.
This is a bit different for me because I haven't published most of my stuff, and most of it is analysis instead of fiction.
1. There exists a pocket dimension inside every coat closet, which is connected to every other coat closet in the world.
This was originally a short story I wrote at age 14, after discovering Douglas Adams and learning you can do That with words. It was literally just about coat closets, but I later repurposed it into a stilly story for my husband about what our future kids might be like. The line holds a very dear place in my heart, because it was the first thing I ever wrote that I was proud of.
2. Orion peered shiftily over his shoulder, verified he wasn’t being followed, and approached the portal.
This was one of my first tries at starting mid-event, instead of with some exposition. It was made as a bit of backstory for our DND campaign, written as a joke for my friends. Orion was my very first character, and my husband and I are working on a book about his adventures in our spare time.
3. The seaside town of Lagrange was the sort of place that could only be referred to as charming. It was populated almost entirely by cow-eyed farmers who knew no greater joy in life than a hard day’s work.
From the same campaign, but a different story about another character, a barbarian who is definitely using "charming" in a derogatory way.
4. “Oh for fuck’s sake Why me?!” - Draw Me a Blueprint of your Heart Shadow and Bone
This is the opener for my one and only longfic. Still a WIP, and one of my few pieces of fiction written in first person. I have trouble with first person, because I like to get in every character's head and show their thoughts. It also feels weird using I to describe things I would never do or say, because I am very much NOT like Alina in this story. But the original book is first person, and I was trying to hold with the writing style.
5. Aziraphale was walking along the edge of the ark, checking up on everything. - Doubt Good Omens (Book)
I kind of cringe looking at this fic now, but I am still proud of it. I had to learn how to write again after a bad head injury, and this was my very first actual story produced after three years of rehabilitation. It isn't the most original or skillful, but I like to see how far I've come in such a short time.
6. When I first hear the news, time doesn't stop. Icy cold terror refuses to run through my veins, and my heart completely fails to skip a beat.
Now we are firmly out of fiction and into my essays. This one is my college application essay from high school, where I exploit my cancer diagnosis for all it's worth. It was fun to go back through very old works, because I was a lot better than I gave myself credit for.
7. I had to watch a newborn baby the other day, and the experience has helped me to reach the conclusion that any child below the age of four is not actually a human, but is, in fact, a tangible representation of pure evil.
Another one from Past Me, and makes me entirely unsurprised that I chose to adopt teenagers rather than babies. Tell me how you really feel, go on, don't hold back.
8. Seven hundred and ten days, and it still burns the same. Some of the color of the world died with you.
This was the opener to a song I wrote after losing someone I deeply loved. Well, Past Me, over a decade later, it also still burns the same. Sorry you had to find out this way.
9. Your motivation can't be self-hate.
This was a lecture I wrote for work, about the paradox in mental health where therapists recommend things like walks outside, healthy food, limiting screen time, learning hobbies, good sleep, etc. But if a client does those things out of an effort to "fix" themselves rather than because those things are inherently enjoyable, they don't get the benefits because their brain views it as work to stave off the guilt and shame, rather than a fun way to spend time. My recommendation was to focus on reinforcing the client's right to fun relaxation and enjoyment of life, rather than pushing specific Approved Activities.
10. People love the Loki series because it is a story of redemption.  But what I think a lot of folks miss is that it is just as much a redemption for Mobius as it is for Loki - Mobius and the Theme of Redemption Loki (TV)
Yeah, Mobius hit me right in the religious trauma. That whole show did, really. I love the complexity of every character involved, and how everyone who watches it seems to have a different idea of which characters were right and which ones were wrong. It was a world where there were no "good" choices, just the constant struggle between freedom and safety.
It was interesting to go back over and see how my writing has evolved over time. I definitely see a clear distinction between the things I wrote pre and post injury. I think I got more focused on the subject, and less focused on word choices. I can't decided if I prefer that or not. My older stuff seems more entertaining, but a bit harder to follow. Past me had a love for exploiting English in ways that leave sentences ambiguous and open for comedic misunderstandings. Present me has a love for human behavior and ethics.

Five Birthdays
summary » five birthdays from the life of lisa petalon.
warnings » light angst in one part
note » LISA'S BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW! But I couldn't wait to post this one-shot lol. Illustrations included!
age 7 » sweet and bitter
“Happy birthday!!”
Lisa blinked slowly as her dad appeared from the kitchen, carrying something on a platter. He was covered with flour, egg stains on his shirt, but he was smiling wider than he had for a while. Her aunt and cousin giggled at the sight, clapping from where they sat next to Lisa at the table.
“What is that?”
“Look at it!” Her father grinned as he set it down in front of her. It was clear that it was some kind of food, maybe a fancy type of bread, but it was covered in some sort of shiny coating. “It’s a cake… a birthday cake! I realized that we never made one for you, so I decided to do it this time. Seven is a big age, after all!”
“A cake…” Lisa’s eyes lit up. “A cake! Wow!” In their little town in the woods, they foraged for most of their food, so Lisa was more used to the gamey taste of turkey, potatoes, and berry juice. Confections like cake were rare.
Her dad chuckled, crouching next to his daughter’s chair and wrapping an arm around her shoulder. “It’s all yours, Lisa. Dig in!”
Lisa nodded, eagerly grabbing her fork and taking a big scoop of cake. It was soft, easy to cut; her father did a great job baking it. But before she tasted it, she paused.
“Wait… where is mom?”
The silence in the moments following the question should have told Lisa everything she needed to know. But she was just 7… she had not yet realized why her mother failed to acknowledge any of her birthdays.
“She… she’s tired.” Her father exchanged a glance with her aunt. Out of everyone here, he was the most weary, but he willed himself to smile again before turning back to look back into his daughter’s eyes; eyes that matched his own.
His daughter was almost his mirror image, with her black eyes, her jagged brown hair, and the power she inevitably would discover one day.
But he smiled anyway. Because she was his pride and joy. She was a miracle.
“But the rest of us are all here to celebrate. So let’s dig in!” He reached down and ruffled her hair.
Lisa grinned, giving him a nod before finally taking the first bite.
“Ah! It’s so sweet!”
Tumblr media
age 19 » anything you want
Lisa jumped a little in surprise as someone tapped her on the shoulder. She was standing by one of the shelves of books in the royal library, a place that she had been frequenting more and more these past few weeks. She turned around towards the feeling, a little perplexed when she saw that she was still alone. Huh? That’s weird, I don’t think I imagined that-
“Over here!”
She turned the other way, her heart skipping a beat when she saw none other than Julius there, leaning against the edge of the shelf, a place that he was definitely not only a moment ago. But Lisa couldn’t bring herself to be annoyed, despite the fright. “Oh, hi.”
“Hi.” Julius smiled, his eyes avoiding hers for a moment before he straightened up to walk over to her side. “I see you’re hard at work again, any discoveries?”
“N...Not yet.” Lisa quickly looked back down at the book in her hand, trying not to seem too nervous. She would have thought that she would be more used to being in his presence, since they had been meeting up here often to sift through records for any information about Lisa’ magic mark. But that wasn’t the case…”There are so many books, we might never find it, even if it’s here.”
“Well, I just finished my work for the day. I can be your helper for the rest of the evening, if you’d like~”
Lisa almost hid her face in her book as her face heated up. Help!!! Why did he say it like that- “Um, actually-” Lisa closed the book with a soft snap. “I was about to head out.”
“Oh.” There was a hint of disappointment in the Wizard King’s voice. “You have plans?”
“Yeah, actually…” Lisa smiled a little. “It’s my birthday! Yami and William wanted to go celebrate tonight.”
“Your birthday?!” Julius’s eyes widened in surprise. “Oh- I had no idea! You should have told me, I would have gotten you a present!”
“P-Present!? No way!” Lisa shook her head, her smile falling. “I-I couldn’t accept a present from you, I mean- It wouldn’t be right for me to expect something, you know-”
“Nonsense! I’m your research assistant, remember!”
Julius winked, and Lisa felt that she was about to pass away right then and there.
“... I guess so… but still!” Lisa scowled playfully. “You don’t need to get me anything… I…”
“I feel happy enough just to be close to you. That’s the only present I need.”
Of course, Lisa couldn’t say something so embarrassing.
“I don’t need presents, really. I’d rather just spend time with my friends and other… people I care about.”
Julius’s eyes softened a bit, a light blush appearing on his cheeks. “Oh… I see.” His smile quickly reappeared. “But still, I insist! How about this- You can take a book in this library home with you. Permanently.”
Lisa’s eyes widened. “Really? But, isn’t that stealing?”
“I’m the Wizard King, and I’m saying it’s ok. Plus, I’ll cover the overdue fees.” He grinned, closing his eyes for a moment. “How does that sound?”
“...alright. Thank you!” Lisa quickly put the book away, biting her lip to keep from smiling too widely. A birthday present from the Wizard King! More importantly… a present from Julius… “There’s so many books here, though… any recommendations…”
“Actually, there’s one I was hoping you would take.” Julius cleared his throat. “One moment. I’ll be right back.”
He quickly turned away and disappeared down a different aisle. A moment later, he reappeared, holding a book with an elaborate leather cover. “Um.. see for yourself.” He held it out for Lisa to take. It was heavy, but the texture of the cover felt nice under her fingers. Her eyes fell on the title, and she let out a soft gasp.
“Origins of Magic: The sources of mana in this world and the Mystery of its usage. By Julius Novachrono…”
“Heh, I wrote that when I was still captain.” Julius chuckled nervously, awaiting her reaction. “I might have to write a second edition, I’ve learned so much since I became Wizard King… maybe you can be my research assistant for that one.”
“This is amazing… I can’t wait to read it!” Lisa grinned, looking back up at his face. “Thank you, Julius.”
It still felt strange to say his name. This man was revered by almost everyone, yet here Lisa was, receiving a present from him. And a very personal present, at that.
“You’re welcome… let me know what you think.” Julius smiled, gazing down at her face.
There’s so much more I want to say to you… Lisa…
When Lisa got home soon after, she had a few minutes before William and Yami wanted to meet up. She collapsed on her bed, face down. After a moment of silence, she let out a long squeal, muffled by her pillow.
Oh god… I need to stop hanging out with him… or I’m going to fall in love for real.
But… maybe that wouldn’t be so bad…
Tumblr media
age 23 » forgotten nights
“Ouch… ouch ouch…”
Lisa rolled over, consciousness finally filtering back into her weary brain. It was strange at first, unfamiliar to Lisa.
Was I… sleeping? How is that possible?
She let out a soft groan.
I haven't slept in 3 years-
Suddenly, pain throbbed in the back on her head, and Lisa let out a cry.
Oh… not sleeping, then... Was I bludgeoned?
"Oh! There, there, don't sit up!"
Hands gently grabbed her shoulders to push her back into the sheets when she tried to raise her head. Lisa winced at the feeling, blinking her eyes open. Her eyesight was foggy, and it took a few moments for the other person's face to come into focus. "Oh… Julius? What on Earth is happening-" She cringed and squeezed her eyes shut again at another pang of agony. "Did I get in a fight?"
Julius sighed, glad that she was awake and recovering. "Sort of… here-" He picked up the glass of water he had been keeping on the bedside table. He carefully held it up to her mouth, and she immediately started sipping away at it. "How do you feel?"
"I'm in pain… tell me, what happened?" Lisa scowled up at him, sensing how hesitant he was to speak further. "What do you mean, I sort of got in a fight?"
"Well… I'm surprised you didn't figure it out already," Julius chuckled nervously. "You… you weren't knocked out. You're hungover…"
All the sudden, everything flooded back.
------
"BEHOLD; THE MIGHTY POWER OF THE WIZARD KING!!!!"
Lisa cackled wickedly, one foot planted on the edge of the bar and the other precariously balanced on her stool. In one hand, she gripped a glass of mead. The other formed a fist, blue fire circling in tandem with time magic. "Anyone who can beat me can take my title! I'll share this power with you!"
There was a roar of approval from the other patrons at the bar. Yami howled with laughter and hit the bar surface with the palm of his hand a few times.
SMACK SMACK SMACK
"That's hilarious!!! What are you gonna do if you lose!!?"
"I won't." Lisa smirked raising her glass back to her lips and chugging it in one go.
"Lisa!! Get down from there-" Fuegoleon tapped her shoe, frowning. He was only a little red in the face, not nearly as drunk as the others. Jack was giggling next to Yami, and Charlotte and William were already asleep at a table in the corner. "You're going to get hurt, and-"
"HEY!" Lisa's foot lashed out, and she wobbled dangerously. "I knew you wanted my job! Come at me, then!"
"What? No!" Fuegoleon stumbled back. "You're acting like my sister!"
"Yeah? Then fight me!"
Lisa stepped forward, ready to attack- however, she was still up on the bar. Her foot didn't land anywhere… and she fell
"LISA!"
Fuegoleon jumped forward, arms outstretched, ready to catch her. However, to his surprise, the elderly bartender rushed in front of him. Lisa fell into his arm, limp as a ragdoll.
"Dear me- I'm glad I was keeping an eye on this one." He chuckled before turning back to Fuegoleon. "Thank you for trying to keep her out of trouble- but I'll get her somewhere safe."
"Oh- okay." Fuegoleon watched the man carry her away, then reappear a few moments later.
-------
"Oh god…"
Lisa buried her head in her hands, her face bright red. "No way… no way I did all that!"
Julius chuckled, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her closer to him. "No harm was done! And you had fun, didn't you?"
Lisa shrugged. "I don't really remember…" her hands fell back into her lap. "It sucks… I used to be able to drink all night and feel fine… but after we formed our Dyad…"
Of course, her alcohol tolerance wasn't the only thing about her body that had changed. She couldn't eat, or sleep, or… worst of all-
"I know. It'll be alright. It just takes some getting used to, right?"
Lisa nodded, and felt his lips press against the side of her head. Her eyes fluttered closed for just a moment.
"Why was I at the bar with all of them, anyway?"
Julius's eyes popped back open in surprise. "Huh? You don't remember?" His lips twitched into a smile. "I suggested the outing in the first place… thought you'd want to have a celebration with your friends."
Lisa blinked. "Celebration?"
She was still confused, until Julius chuckled and gave her a gentle squeeze.
"Happy birthday, Lisa."
Tumblr media
age 27.1 » the life of an insect
It stayed hot all the way until September. The sun blazed down into the garden, unhindered by clouds. The bright atmosphere contrasted with the dark shadows that were quickly closing around the Clover Kingdom.
It’s so loud…
Lisa spent most of her time alone, now. Part of her wanted to surround herself with people, with all those she loved. But even then, she knew it would just make herself feel worse. Seeing their faces, watching them talk, and laugh… it just forced her to draw further and further away.
I’m not like you… I never was.
So, she spent her days alone. It would be easier for them if she stayed away. Even if it hurt.
Yet it was still so loud.
Cicadas screamed from every corner of the forest, swarming the treetops by the million. Their song permeated almost every corner of the kingdom, allowing none to escape.
In a way… it was almost nostalgic.
Lisa stood at the base of a tree, pausing her walk for just a moment. Above her was a group of cicadas, circling each other on the bottom of a high branch, no doubt evaluating each other to decide if they wanted to mate or not. Their song was earsplitting, but Lisa was already numb. It didn’t bother her.
In her hometown, out in the woods, the cicadas were a fact of life, appearing every summer without fail. They were like a booming voice, nature’s fury swept across the land.
Yet… they were fragile.
They slept underground for 17 years. Then, for just one day, they rose up to the heavens, singing their glorious song. They soared, they mated, they laid their eggs…
And then they died.
They fell back to earth, their voices and bodies spent. Their last act would be to plant the seeds of their offspring, before the dirt reclaimed them.
Their lives… were fragile.
Utterly and completely meaningless.
Two of the cicadas lost their grip on the tree. They fell down into the leaf litter, letting out one last scream before they went silent forever.
But at one point, they had screamed. And the whole world heard them.
I can’t even do that. How I wish I could just scream… but I can’t.
A moth could not scream. It would never see the sun. They just fluttered through the night, like a ghost. They were swallowed silently by that darkness.
This is my last birthday.
Lisa lowered her gaze, before restarting her lonely stroll.
At the very least… I got to see the sunset first.
Tumblr media
age 27.2 » the future ahead of us
Summer melted into fall at last. The heat evaporated, leaving cool winds to quench the thirsty land.
The winds were gentle; like a nourishing pair of hands. Lisa closed her eyes, sinking into the feeling of those hands touching her. They brought her comfort, and they eased her pain.
They belonged to her.
“Just a few more months…”
Julius whispered the words, so soft that Lisa could barely hear them. But that was okay; they weren’t meant for her.
“I can’t wait to meet you.”
Lisa’s hand moved to run through his hair. Julius let out a happy sigh, his eyes flickering closed. He could hear two heartbeats with the ear pressed against his wife’s stomach, harmonizing with the sweet sound of her breathing. Life thrived there, and life was thriving within him as well. Never before had he felt so much excitement, so much anxiety. It was a rare, beautiful thing; an opportunity that had almost slipped away; like a stunning sunset that you didn’t notice until it was too late.
But it’s not too late.
He pulled back a little, just enough to stare up into Lisa’s eyes.
Because of you… your strength… your sacrifice. Because of you, we have this life. We have a second chance.
I won’t ever let that chance slip away.
“Her birthday is going to be after both of ours… a December baby.” Julius said happily. “A “Joy” to the world, you could say.”
Lisa let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head a little at the pun. “A joy to all of us, for sure.”
She watched as Julius nodded, his expression drowsy, before he lowered his head to listen once again. He couldn’t get enough of the sounds; the sounds of his daughter, and the sounds of his wife.
“She’s a joy… and a gift.”
The world was changing. The future ahead was uncertain. But Fate was alive and well; Julius and Lisa would always be bound to it.
Whatever fate had in store for them, they would be together. And they would have this child, who they had wanted more than anything else on this Earth.
“I love you, Lisa.”
“I love you, Julius.”
It was the happiest birthday Lisa ever had.

{Hetalia Platonic Ships Week 2021} Day 7: Free Day - Iceland & Latvia
A/N: Submission #7 for @hetaliaplatonicshipsweek!
Aaaaand the last day! I was originally planning to do Canada and Cuba (a platonic pairing I just adore) for this day until I realized I didn't actually have any solid story ideas for them :')
Sooo I chose Iceland and Latvia instead, because I imagine the two to be pretty good friends. This is just a high school au (bc as many of y'all know I'm a sucker for them) that I came up with one day while sitting in class lol. You can choose to see this as taking place in the same universe as the fic I wrote for family week (the Anko Family submission for Day 5, Embarrassment) if you wish, bc everything lines up pretty much to a T. Also, my demiboy Iceland hc is back, so he/they pronouns again.
Also, here's the reference for human names again (though most of these characters are only briefly mentioned):
Emil - Iceland
Raivis - Latvia
Leon - Hong Kong
Michelle - Seychelles
Mei - Taiwan
Lili - Liechtenstein
Ok, I hope you guys enjoy!
»»————- ➴ ————-««
Being a librarian's aide at a high school wasn't nearly as bad as it appeared on the surface—well, at least for Emil it wasn't. It was always nice and quiet (for obvious reasons, since it was a library), and it allowed him to get out of a couple of boring classes which he didn't even need to take since he'd already received all the credits for them. Plus, the librarian herself was always very nice and even gave him free coffee and donuts from the teacher's lounge on most days. So, needless to say, Emil actually liked being her aide very much.
It wasn't even that much work, honestly. Not that much work at all. Usually just stacking returned books back on the bookshelf and taking out papers from the printer and giving them to students and teachers. Emil didn't have to interact with too many other kids as there were only a couple of other aides—a senior girl who was the librarian's secretary, and a boy named Raivis who Emil was pretty sure was a sophomore. Raivis basically did the same tasks as Emil, placing books on the bookshelf and whatnot.
Raivis was a curly-haired brunet who was very short for his age, barely even coming up to Emil's shoulder; he had a round boyish face that added to his middle-schooler look. Though he seemed to be a pretty quiet kid, just like Emil, since the two worked together they evidently had to communicate with each other sometimes—and honestly, Emil really enjoyed talking with him. He seemed to have a lot of the same interests as Emil—video games, indie music, hell, he even liked science fiction novels too—and a similar personality to them. Emil wouldn't exactly consider themselves close enough to Raivis to consider him a friend, probably just a very good acquaintance; however, they definitely saw the potential for friendship. It was there.
Sometimes Emil wondered if Raivis even had any other friends, as they'd never seen the boy really talk to anybody else. They wondered where he sat at lunch and tried to recall countless times if they'd ever seen him at lunch with anybody else (at their school, all juniors and sophomores had the same lunch period, so Emil knew that they had lunch with Raivis).
Anyway, on one Thursday morning Emil and Raivis were in the library, organizing books in the—what do you know—science fiction section. They had set their uneaten donuts and coffee on a nearby table and were just talking and laughing among each other, as well as sharing some of the good books they'd found that they happened to have read in the past. Emil made a mental note of all the reading suggestions Raivis had given him. I'm gonna have to check out those books when Mrs. Newman lets me pick some out again, Emil thought to himself (Mrs. Newman referring to the librarian). Another perk to being a librarian's aide was that they got to pick out more books than the other students, about three to five every other week.
Everything was going okay until these two boys who Emil had never seen in the library before casually walked up to the table that had the two's donuts and coffee and sat in the chairs.
However, Emil just kept their attention on Raivis, who was laughing as he told them about this one dystopian book, holding it up so Emil could see. "Yeah! And the best part is when—" Raivis stopped talking abruptly when he noticed the two boys there; his eyes grew wide and he got a...scared look on his face? Hurriedly, he shoved the book back in its spot on the shelf, averting his eyes from the boys and holding Emil's arm loosely, trying to guide him away from the section they were at. "Um...how about let's go sort out the encyclopedias," Raivis suggested quickly.
Emil cocked his eyebrows, now very confused. "But what about our food?"
However, Raivis didn't respond and instead continued to try to push Emil away from the boys.
"Hey, short stack!"
Raivis visibly cringed at the voice of one of the boys. This prompted him, as well as Emil to lift their heads up. One of the kids was cackling annoyingly, while the other one had carelessly taken a bite out of one of Raivis' donuts.
Seeing this latter action immediately caused Emil to furrow their eyebrows. "Hey, what the heck?" they said sternly. "That's Raivis' food."
The kid who'd eaten Raivis' donut snickered. "Yeah, no shit, Dad."
"Emil, just leave them alone..." Raivis said quietly, still holding onto their arm.
Emil ignored him and, though his heart was pounding nearly out of his chest with nerves, he continued to try to set the two boys straight. "I'm going to tell Mrs. Newman if you two don't stop," he threatened.
The other boy, who'd started to drink Raivis' coffee, set his cup down and made mocking jazz hands. "Ooo—Mrs. Newman. I'm so scared," he said sarcastically.
Emil shot the two one last glare and went up to the front of the library to do what he'd just said he would do—tell Mrs. Newman. As he began to walk, he heard the sounds of pounding footsteps, splashing, and then a high-pitched wail that could only belong to one person. Emil whipped his head around and gasped. The kid with the coffee had dumped the entire beverage onto Raivis' head; it was dripping from his hair, and onto the floor.
Now simmering with anger, Emil stomped up to the two kids—he was about to yell something until he heard one of the boys snort loudly and then run up to place the now-empty cup of coffee into Emil's hand. The ash-blond didn't have time to be too confused; he was much more concerned for Raivis at that moment. He prepared to yell at the two boys to get the hell out (he honestly didn't care at that point that they were in a library) before he heard a voice behind him: "Hey! What are you two doing?"
The teens all looked toward the voice and saw Mrs. Newman standing there, hands on her hips, her expression very angry looking—though not at Emil and Raivis, rather at the boy that'd spilled coffee on Raivis' head, as well as his friend.
The two boys, though they'd just mocked Mrs. Newman a mere few minutes prior, stood there, scared, until they glanced at each other briefly and then dashed out of the large library doors. Emil smirked internally as they saw this. Now they're afraid, huh? they thought to themselves.
Mrs. Newman stared at the boys like a hawk as they ran out into the halls, but once they were out of eyesight she turned to Raivis, her face instantly growing from full of anger to full of concern. She walked up slowly to the boy, gently placing her hand on a part of his arm that'd been untouched by the coffee. "Oh, sweetheart," she said, "I'm so sorry that happened to you."
Raivis shrugged his shoulders slowly, his face looking so solemn, so pitiful. "It's fine..."
The tall blonde woman turned to Emil then. "Honey, will you take him to the office to get a fresh change of clothes?" she asked. "He will probably need to use one of the showers in the gym too...can you walk with him, please?"
Emil nodded instantly. "Yeah. Sure thing."
Mrs. Newman smiled back. "Thank you."
Soon, the two teens were walking off to do just that. Raivis was very quiet all the way to the office—which Emil could understand one hundred percent. Poor kid must've felt so embarrassed. He decided he wouldn't make the situation any worse for him and kept his mouth shut, too. They swiftly went to the office to get some spare clothes and then got the clear to go down to the gym bathroom so Raivis could wash up.
The two got to the gym and were standing in front of the door to the bathroom; Raivis glanced up at Emil, his face a little pink. "Um," he began, holding his hand out a little, "could you give me the clothes?"
"Oh, yeah," Emil replied, handing Raivis the sweatpants and t-shirt.
Raivis nodded his thanks and headed on in. After he shut the door, Emil just decided to sit against the wall and wait for him while he showered and changed.
Nearly thirty minutes later, Raivis finally came back out. Emil looked up, put his phone back in his pocket, and then stood up. "How was it?" he asked the sophomore.
Raivis sighed deeply; his eyes were very close to watering, even though he looked and smelled as fresh as a daisy. "Um...okay I guess," he answered, voice quavering a little. "There was a lot of coffee on me."
Emil nodded, but tsk-tsked. He began to walk out of the gym, and Raivis followed close behind. "Who even were those kids?" Emil asked.
Raivis shrugged, looking down at his toes. "Eh, just some kids from my grade. They're jerks."
Emil bit his lip. "Seems like it. I can't believe they put that coffee cup in my hands like they were trying to frame me or something," he said. He laughed, a bit bitterly.
Despite himself, Raivis managed to chuckle a little. "Yeah. Don't they know Mrs. Newman has cameras in there? She could've checked them if she really wanted to."
Emil snorted. "I know, right?"
It was silent for a moment afterward, with Raivis gulping loudly every now and then. Emil turned their head, noticing this. He cocked an eyebrow, concerned. "Are you okay?"
Raivis (who Emil could tell now was definitely on the verge of crying) sniffled and rubbed at his face. "Yeah," he answered, voice hushed. "It's just...thank you, Emil. No one has ever stood up for me like that."
The boy's voice was so sincere that Emil had to grin. "It's no problem—really."
"You're a great friend," Raivis added.
Emil's heart was warmed at that—they didn't know if it was just the way he said it, or the knowledge that he actually thought of them as a friend. He answered warmly nonetheless. "Thank you. You are too."
Raivis glanced at him and gave the most genuine smile Emil thought he'd ever seen on the younger teen.
"Hey, where do you normally sit at lunch?" Emil asked Raivis, just out of curiosity.
Raivis' smile fell a bit. "Oh...well, I normally just sit outside," he said quietly.
"Alone?" The word seemed to echo in the empty hallway, though it might've just been Emil's imagination.
Raivis nodded a bit solemnly. Emil grew the same solemn expression for a moment before asking, "Hey, would you like to sit with me and my friends at lunch?"
Raivis looked up then, eyebrows shooting up. "Really?"
Emil nodded, cracking a small smile. "Yeah. I sit with my best friend, Leon, and then my other friends, Michelle, Mei, and Lili. Leon's really cool; Michelle and Mei might seem a bit...much at first, but they're really nice and cool too."
Raivis' expression slowly began to brighten the more he heard Emil talk, until he paused. "...Are you sure that's okay? I wouldn't wanna ruin your guys' lunch..."
"Trust me, you won't," Emil assured instantly.
The sophomore paused for a minute, as if thinking. "...Okay. I'll sit with you guys."
Emil grinned. "Good. I'm sure they'd love to meet you."
The two continued to walk back to the office to get passes for their next class in comfortable silence, the content feeling one feels after finding a new friend overwhelming both of them.

when does a relationship become queerbaiting? theres a book that i really like and the 2 male leads characters have a lot of storylines and arcs where they get closer and i think some of the tropes used can be similar to the typical romantic tropes, neither of them end up with anyone at the end of the story since its more about found family and the long journey the whole cast goes through. they even get shipped by another character as a running gag. personally i always saw it as being open to interpretation but recently the revised edition of the original novel came out and there were several lines those 2 characters had about each other that were kinda toned down, i didnt think much of it but i saw a post about how it was clearly baiting and the author was being homophobic for toning it down. i didnt think it counted as baiting since as far as i know, the novel was never advertised as anything with romance and the author never pretended they were gonna end up together. i am definitely a little weirded out by the decision to change those specific lines but a lot of the story stayed the same, including a lot about their relationship so idk what to think.
i guess im more confused on if it counts as baiting, or even substext??
Sooooo I am not the best person to ask about this, because I’m a cis woman who has thus far in life only been attracted in a romantic sense to cis men. I can talk a bit about baiting as a general concept in fiction, but you should definitely take it with some grains of salt.
Baiting, for me, is like deliberately playing up an aspect writers have no intention on delivering on. Usually this is done for ratings, to tease fans, fanservice, etc, but without payoff, it is just bad writing. Red herrings are good in writing, but only can be successfully used if the actual result is more satisfying than the herring. This applies to writing in general, not just to romantic ships. However, when the baiting involves historically underrepresented groups for no reason other than to get fans to spend money consuming the story, I think we can all agree that becomes something more grotesque than just bad writing: it’s insensitive, socially irresponsible, frankly hurtful.
Some common examples are Bridgerton which has a gay character, who is extremely minor, yet they played up this character in advertising. Also, Rizzoli and Isles I think actually had its producers mention deliberately playing up the lesbian subtext to hook the audience without ever intending on following through.
That said, context also matters. Like, there are aspects of the culture of the work’s author, the target audience, and such that come into play here also (so like, romantic tropes differ by culture. For example, enemies to lovers is common in Asian stories but less in the west, and the “girl who pursues a guy” is extremely common in Japanese shonen in particular, while it is very much a cringe trope that almost never results in romance in American fiction. So if a writer reads, say, tropes that are common in America into a Japanese work and says it’s baiting, that’s quite possibly not the intent even if it may have been the experience of the reader. So even if there was no intent, there can still be hurt, and that hurt can be real, if that makes sense.
The definition of what constitutes ‘baiting’ varies. I do think that, in true Tumblr fashion, the term gets thrown around a lot and loses its intended meaning, or is so rigidly defined that creators can meet the letter of the “not a bait” requirement while ignoring the spirit of it.
To start with the latter: regarding something hitting the letter of what most wouldn’t consider baiting yet not really the spirit, let’s look at The Rise of Skywalker. This movie had a genuine lesbian kiss in it... between two characters we’d never seen more than a glimpse of while others are celebrating around them. Since it has a kiss, it’s not baiting, right? Well... the director deliberately said in the lead-up to the film that he included it because he “wanted LGBT people to see themselves in the film.” If “see yourselves in the film” is like a nanosecond of background, then, like... idk. Baiting or not, it feels icky, and I know some people consider it baiting and some don’t even if they don’t like, love that representation. But I think this is more queerbaiting than like, Nobara and Maki, who don’t have explicit romantic coding.
Going back to the former, in terms of ‘queerbaiting’ losing its intended meaning... I think there are a lot of really poorly written romantic ships out there, often het, while a lot of same-gender relationships are really well written regardless of whether there’s romantic coding within the text. The main emotional energy in stories with 90% male characters (as frankly many if not most stories are, great job world) is probably between two men. There’s just so much more potential with well-written characters who share a lot of screen time, so of course people are going to ship them. In my opinion, this does not inherently make it baiting, but it certainly creates an environment that lends itself to baiting even if the writers aren’t intending to do this.
Like, you could say the main emotional energy in BNHA is Bakugou and Deku. However, Bakudeku is 100% not queerbaiting. It’ll never be canon romantically (I don’t even ship it lol). There has been nothing to imply romance between them even if the main emotional message can be seen in their development. Deku/Ochaco is likely to be canon, but there is a significant lack of genuine emotional energy between them (the story’s plots and themes don’t coalesce around their relationship), so it’s probably going to feel forced. In contrast, Naruto/Sasuke had an actual kiss in canon, which while played for laughs is a lot more direct romantic coding than anything between Bakugou/Deku. I actually don’t think the majority of Narusasu is baiting, but I definitely think that one moment in chapter like 3 was really poor fanservice for yaoi fans, and has not aged well at all.
It is also the case that fans can confuse headcanons with what is actually in the text, and that just never ends well. For example, Clover and Qrow’s ship in RWBY: a lot of people read Clover as gay, which led to “bury your gays” outrage when he died. A member of the crew stated explicitly they had never intended for Clover to be a love interest for Qrow, and truthfully here was nothing strictly romantic in their relationship--nothing like a kiss or a declaration of love or a parallel to another romantic couple. Hence, I don’t personally consider it queerbaiting or bury your gays, but a lot of fans felt that it was and their pain is legitimate even if I think textually the argument isn’t there. The one thing I do think is true about this in particular is that there was also no strict platonic coding, which encourages headcanons. Clear writing, yo. It can help.
Note the word “can” not “will,” because strict platonic coding doesn’t always fix things, either. In what was probably a reaction to the outrage over Clover’s death, you had extremely blatant platonic coding of Ruby and Penny’s relationship this season leading up to Penny’s death. Ruby refers to Penny as “our friend” three different times, wherein “friend” sends a platonic message and “our” sends an even stronger message that it’s not about the two of them despite the fact that their friendship is one of the sweetest and most interesting in the show. A lingering Ruby-Penny hug then is followed by a lingering Penny-Weiss hug, then Yang, then Blake, etc. The writers went out of their way to hit people over the head with “platonic” and yet they have still gotten accusations of bury your gays and queerbaiting because people will see what they want to see in a story.
Seeing what you want to see in a story also isn’t inherently bad. People who are underrepresented are going to have to read themselves into stories because Lord knows writers ain’t incorporating them well enough if at all. It’s why “Mary Sues” are common in fanfiction, which is primarily written by people who are not straight white men: because where the hell else are we to see ourselves in fiction? So essentially the macrocosm of culture creates this problem, both in terms of baiting and the misuse of the term, and the only fix is a shit ton more good representation.

Yes, Mr. Langdon---Fire & Reign!Michael Langdon x Reader
Word Count: 3228

Warnings: NSFW, lots of swearing, masturbation, Reader gets a facial, bootlicking, degradation, humiliation ish?, some Mean!Michael, but also kinda Soft!Michael at the end bc I’m soft and lonely at heart, that’s all I can think of idk
A/N: Hi I’ve literally never written any AHS stuff before so I apologize if this sucks but I really hope it doesn’t
Being the personal assistant to the Antichrist was definitely not the easiest job in the world.
But when held in comparison to your time in restaurant service, it definitely wasn’t the hardest either.
At least here, you rarely had to deal with obstinate customers. Most people were too frightened of your boss, Mr. Langdon, to yell or be rude in his presence, which you were constantly in, and on the occasion that they were rude or stubborn anyway, he had a tendency to give a little wave of his hand, incinerating them before your very eyes.
No, the rudest and most needy person you typically had to deal with was Mr. Langdon himself.
The rude came and went in waves. He could be cruel, demeaning, downright evil at times. He acted, in short, much like one might expect the Antichrist to. But sometimes, he could be charming, gentle, occasionally even sweet.
The neediness came and went in waves too, although it was more often very subtly present than anything else. Usually he was commanding, powerful, clearly in charge. But sometimes, although still commanding, he could be almost childlike in his confusion and frustration.
He was kind of an asshole, but he wasn’t the worst boss in the world. There was something about him that was compelling, that made you feel a great desire to please him. He was always specific about what he wanted, and you always complied, no matter how out of the box, how insulting, how simple or extreme, how kind or how demeaning. You said yes to everything he asked you.
And he had begun to take great notice of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Fucking, fuck, dammit to hell, this fucking, son of a bitch!”
You sat at your desk just outside of Michael Langdon’s office, transcribing a giant tome of text as instructed by the Cooperative, and listening to your boss curse loudly at inanimate objects.
You should probably get up, check on him, but you decided that until he reached the point of breaking things-
“Fuck!” He shouted, and then there was a bang and a very, very loud crash.
Yeah, until he started doing stuff like that.
You rose with a shake of your head, knocking sharply on his door three times.
“Come in,” Michael sighed, and as you walked in you took note of the shattered computer against the opposite wall of his desk, turning back to look at your boss with his head laying against said desk, hands gripping at his golden curls.
Dammit, he was frustrated.
Frustrated Michael could be particularly difficult to deal with.
You stood before him, hands folded neatly in front of you, smiling pleasantly even though he wasn’t looking at you yet, “You sounded like you might be in need of assistance, Mr. Langdon. Would you mind fixing your computer?”
He grunted quietly, giving a little swirl of his hand, although he didn’t lift his head, and you stepped out of the way as the technology flew back into place, drifting into its original position.
“Very good. Now, if you don’t mind, could you tell me what’s wrong?”
“I’m not a child, Y/N,” Michael growled, and you bit your tongue gently to resist the urge to laugh.
Moving to the side of the desk, you smiled to yourself at his little temper tantrum, “Of course not, Mr. Langdon. I am merely at your service.”
“Of course you are,” Sitting up finally, he turned to you, and you were amused to see the pout that sat on his lips, the intimidating man looking suddenly very young, more his own age, “The mouse won’t work.”
“May I?” You didn’t wait for him to agree, already wiggling the mouse once and then moving to the wires of the computer, fiddling with them quickly before sliding the mouse back to Michael, “That should do it.”
“What was wrong with it?” He glanced up at you, voice gruff, although you could hear a hint of curiosity.
You shifted where you stood, trying to mask your discomfort, “Just, uh, just technology stuff.”
“Y/N,” Turning in his chair, Michael pinned you in place with his gaze, and you were unsure whether this was metaphorical pinning or not, with how frozen you felt, “Tell me what was wrong with it.”
“Yes, Mr. Langdon,” Trying to keep your smile in place rather than let a grimace take you over, you grit your teeth in preparation for him to do something violent, “The mouse wasn’t plugged in all the way. It’s a fairly common issue. Happens all the time.”
You tensed, but to your surprise Michael didn’t yell or break something or curse, like he usually did when he felt a sense of ineptitude. Instead, he laughed, and normally that would’ve scared you even more, but it was such a warm and gentle laugh that you felt yourself relaxing ever so slightly as he spoke, “Of course it was. Tell me, Y/N, is there anything wrong with you?”
Shrugging, you let yourself perch on the edge of his desk with a giggle, “Plenty of things, believe me.”
“Tell me some?”
“Yes, Mr. Langdon,” Pausing, you mused over your words, testing each on the tip of your tongue before you said it, “Let’s see. My left foot is bigger than my right. I think jealousy is a very ugly emotion, and I hate it, but I have a lot of insecurities, and often find myself jealous of people around me in spite of my best efforts. Um, I read cheesy romance novels in my free time even though the writing usually makes me cringe. When people ask me what type of lipstick I use I always lie because I don’t want anyone else to have lips that look as good as mine. Oh, and even though I exclusively call you Mr. Langdon out loud, I will confess that in my head I usually refer to you as Michael. It’s faster, y’know.”
Chuckling softly once more, Michael nodded, “Those don’t sound too bad, as far as problems go. You’re lucky.”
“I prefer to think of myself as adaptable.”
“Fair enough,” He grinned, but something dangerous glittered behind his eyes, “You can go now, Y/N.”
“Yes, Mr. Langdon,” You flashed him a small smile before hurrying out of the room.
Michael watched you leave, musing over your words.
How far, he wondered, how far could he go with his wishes, before you gave in, before you said no.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why the hell wouldn’t you say no to anything?
It was beginning to drive Michael crazy, watching the way that you gave in to whatever he asked, even when he was being absurd.
You spent a full day doing all your work in nothing but your underclothes, simply because he asked.
You gave sat on his lap through a whole meeting with other members of the Cooperative, your superiors, simply because he asked.
You let him order you to do tiny things. Hand him pens that were two inches away from his fingertips. Kiss the floor where his chair had been sitting. Adjust the brightness of his computer screen for him only to come back and adjust it to its original brightness approximately two minutes later. Simply because he asked.
What wouldn’t you say yes to?
He was musing over this as he waited for you to return from a coffee run.
There you were, carrying two paper cups, a pleasant smile on your face.
Always that same damn smile.
“I have your hot chocolate, Mr. Langdon,” You set the cup in front of him on the desk, “Thank you again for allowing me to get myself a drink.”
Michael glanced up at you, frowning, “Y/N, I always let you get yourself a drink.”
Shrugging, you raised the cup to your lips and took a sip, “I know you do, Mr. Langdon. But it feels right to thank you. You’re a good boss.”
Maybe not so much, He thought to himself as he twitched his hand, watching you drop the cup almost in slow motion, watching as the lid came off and your drink spilled just a bit onto his lap, just a bit onto his legs, cursing as the rest came splashing down onto his shoes.
“Oh shit, I’m so sorry!” You gasped, staring at your now empty hands in shock.
Sneering at you, Michael snapped twice, “Don’t just stand there, Y/N. Clean up your mess.”
“Right, I’m sorry, Mr. Langdon, let me go get-”
“No,” He grabbed your wrist, not allowing you to move away, and you turned back to him in confusion as he continued to tug you closer, “Get onto your knees, open your mouth, and clean up your mess.”
Holy fuck.
Ignoring the way your face burned, you averted your eyes, whispering, “Yes, Mr. Langdon,” As you dropped to your knees.
Where exactly were you meant to go with this?
Michael raised his foot, nudging your chin with it until you looked up and met his gaze, his eyes holding something dark and urgently, compellingly dangerous, “Well? Get to work, Y/N.”
“Yes, Mr. Langdon.”
Before you could even think any further, he had touched the toe of his boot to your mouth, pushing gently against your bottom lip until you opened for him.
He was a remarkably clean person, and beyond the taste of your coffee even the shoes themselves didn’t taste particularly bad.
Probably because they cost more than your apartment.
You moved slowly at first, but as Michael brought his hands down to wind tightly through your hair, you sped up. You lapped at the droplets of coffee, over the grooves of his laces and up to the sharp, pointed toe of the boot, and when you were done with one you switched to the other. He gripped your hair tightly, guiding your head, forcing you to bob up and down as you cleaned his shoe, and you wondered vacantly to yourself if he did the same thing while he was getting a blowjob.
Probably.
“Good girl,” He praised as you worked, his voice softer than you expected, and even Michael seemed surprised as he cleared his throat, his tone becoming darker, “You’re not bad at this. Do you do this often?”
Pausing your ministrations briefly, you shook you head, “No, Mr. Langdon.”
You were back at it immediately, feeling him tug at your head.
Michael was trying hard to sound intimidating, and of course he did, he always did, but there was something shockingly gentle behind his voice even as he growled, “Good. I should be your first priority. Tell me, do you enjoy this?”
You had finished against his shoes, pulling away, and he released your head as he examined them, smirking at your heavy breathing, at the way you panted your answer, “Would you, uh, do you want me to enjoy this, Mr. Langdon?”
Narrowing his eyes, a frown etched across his face, “What? I mean, no. No, I don’t want you to.”
“Then I don’t,” You shrugged, rocking backwards.
Fuck, you were going to kill him.
“What if I wanted you to?”
“Then I would.”
Clearing his throat again, Michael stared at you for a moment before patting his thigh, “There’s coffee on my pants, as well. You’ll need to take care of that, too.”
“Yes, Mr. Langdon.”
He didn’t touch you this time, instead bringing his hands up, reclining further back in his chair and resting his head against his palms as he watched you.
Starting at the cuff, you stroked your tongue up his pant leg, pressing absentminded kisses occasionally as you went. By the time you’d reached the tops of his thighs, Michael was straining forward ever so slightly, dragging the chair closer to you with one ankle hooked around his desk, and then meeting up with his other ankle to lock behind your back.
You took the hint, mouthing along the outline of his cock.
Holy shit, he was huge, and you hadn’t even seen it unconstrained.
He hissed, quietly, his hips bucking forward as you licked your way up to his zipper, clamping your teeth onto it and tugging down without much thought.
“Stop,” He said firmly, almost laughing as you scrambled back, “Don’t be greedy.”
“Sorry, Mr. Langdon,” You dropped your gaze and licked your lips, tasting the remains of your coffee.
“Is this...” Trailing off in thought, Michael guided your face upwards once more, forcing you to make eye contact with him, “Is this embarrassing for you, Y/N?”
“Do you want it to be embarrassing for me?”
“Stop that,” He snapped, his grip on your chin tightening, “Stop bullshitting me. Give me a real answer. Truthfully, is this embarrassing for you?”
Tapping your fingers along your thighs, musing over your answer a moment, “Truthfully? Of course it is. A lot of the things you have me do, especially lately, I find humiliating.”
There it was. Now would you finally give in, finally reject a request?
He didn’t say anything, just reached into his boxers and pulled out his cock.
Neither of you spoke, staring at each other instead, and hesitantly you reached for it, flinching as Michael slapped your hand away just as you brushed your fingers against him.
“I told you not to be greedy.”
“Sorry, Mr. Langdon.”
After a moment more, Michael nodded, wrapping his own fist around his cock and beginning to pump it. You watched in fascination as moved, at the way his long fingers wrapped around his thick, long, perfect cock.
“Y/N,” Snapping you out of your daze, Michael paused to spit into his hand, moving rubbing along the head of his dick before returning to his former position, “I want to jerk off onto your face. I want you to sit there, and watch me, and I want to finish on your face, and when I’m done, I want you to thank me, and I want you to leave it there. Leave it for the rest of the day, so everyone can see how desperate you are to please me.”
Surely, surely you would say no to this.
“Yes, Mr. Langdon.”
A growl made its way out of his throat before he could stop it, and he sped up his pace as he watched you fold your hands in your lap, adjusting your knees a little, staring up at him through your fluttering lashes.
Snarling, Michael grunted, “You’re pathetic, do you know that?”
Did he want you to answer?
“Keep your pretty little whore mouth shut, got it?” He spoke like he could read your mind, and you decided he probably could as you clamped your teeth shut, nodding quickly as he continued, “Fuck. You’d do anything I asked you to, huh? If I told you to kill someone, you’d do it without question, wouldn’t you? Hell, you’d kill yourself without question, if I asked you to. I think you like feeling humiliated. I think that your pussy gets wetter and wetter every time I tell you what to do. I- shit- I’m your fucking boss, and you’re on your knees for me before I can even finish telling you that’s where you need to be. It’s absurd. You probably want me to fuck you right now. You’re probably wishing I would let you open your mouth so you can swallow me down, you’re so desperate to get a taste of me.”
He was getting closer to finishing, you could tell, his rhythm getting faster and faster, his words becoming more sharply articulated.
Michael kept going, almost like he was talking himself into cumming, “You can’t wait for me to finish, can you? You can’t wait to feel completely possessed by me, like I’ve somehow claimed you. You can’t wait for everyone who you see to stare at you, full of disgust and confusion. You want it, don’t you? Don’t you?”
“Yes, Mr. Langdon,” You nodded, shutting your eyes as he let out a low, shaky groan, his warm cum coating your face.
Fucking hell.
You opened your eyes slowly, carefully, unsure of whether or not you should move. You watched as Michael stuffed himself back into his pants, zipping them quickly, and then he pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, holding it out to you.
You didn’t take it but blinked up at him, staring, “I, um, I thought you said to leave it.”
Clicking his tongued, Michael started wiping your face himself, his touch incredibly light, “I thought you’d say no. Tell me to stop. Maybe report me to HR.”
You flicked your eyebrow up, an amused smile settling on your lips, “Do we have an HR for the apocalypse?”
Chuckling mirthlessly, he raised the handkerchief to his mouth and spat lightly, cleaning your face more intently, “You could say no, do you realize that? Why don’t you ever say no to me?”
You closed your eyes as he rubbed across the bridge of your nose, dabbing delicately at your eyelids.
“Have you ever seen The Princess Bride?” You asked, finally, as he moved to your hairline.
His brow furrowed in confusion, “I, uh, no? No, I’ve never seen it.”
“Yeah, I didn’t think so,” His hand moved to your cheek and you leaned into it before you could stop yourself, humming as his thumb moved to run across your skin, “You should watch it sometime. Before you do the whole ending the world thing and kill me and pretty much everyone else in the world and inevitably ruin Netflix. Forget about that. Let’s just say it’s because I’m afraid of you, yeah? You scare me, so I do whatever you say.”
Hesitating for just a moment, Michael pulled his hand away, eyes closed, frowning, “Is that what The Princess Bride is about? Being afraid of your boss?”
You laughed before you could stop yourself, and you found yourself wishing that he would touch your face again, although you didn’t dare say so, “Not quite. Just, uh, forget about The Princess Bride. It doesn’t matter.”
He nodded, folding his handkerchief and slipping it into his pocket without opening his eyes, which you found oddly impressive.
You kept waiting for Michael to say something, to look at you, to move, to do anything, but he wasn’t and he didn’t and so you stood, and started to move away.
“Wait,” He spoke finally, and you felt as though you’d been in silence for hours although you knew it must’ve only been a few moments.
“Yes, Mr. Langdon?”
“I’m not going to kill you,” Michael opened his eyes, looking at you carefully, “I mean, the apocalypse. It’s not going to kill you.”
“It’s not? I thought only members of the Cooperative, and the people rich enough to buy a ticket, I thought they were the only ones who were going to make it.”
He wrapped his hand around your wrist, just as he had before, but this time it wasn’t aggressive, wasn’t rough. He was very gentle, his fingers skimming along the veins, pausing to feel your pulse thump against him, “And you. There will be a place for you in the new world, Y/N, I promise you that.”
And then Michael had released your wrist and turned away, and you made your way out the door and back to your own desk with a soft, “Thank you, Mr. Langdon.”
