oh my god thank you mona for being reasonable and calm about this failed padel date thing! (I always had the impression of you being reasonable and today once again you only proved my assumptions. this is why you're one of my fav lestappen blogs <3)

and mona, I agree with all the points you made, it's completely logical for max's body to just nope out at the morning after such a busy weekend and you are so right, if he really didn't want to come he would just say no earlier.

and I just want to add for the people being worried about max sounding flippant about the whole thing on stream: he probably felt like it's not something he needs to extensively apologize for in public? and yeah it's probably not such a big deal? (and we cannot exclude the possibility that he talked to charles and privately gave him a more heartfelt apology and they laughed about the whole thing together?)

and like it's understandable we were all disappointed the padel date failed and I was disappointed too but it's really not such a big deal? (and very quickly I found it quite funny because I remembered when I first saw that poster one of my thoughts was "8.30am? on sunday? that's so early? why the fuck it's so early?" and yeah indeed why the fuck was it so early lol)

I'm sad to see (but not really surprised) that people jump to the worst conclusions so quickly and interpret everything in the bad faith and come on, y'all really think that their relationship is so frail and weak that one silly little thing can make it crumble? and I'm sad how some people were so quick to assume max would be purposefully so mean to charles? as a fandom we are so full of declarations that max has a big heart and is a good friend and his haters are blinded by their silly rage to not see this. and then a thing like max oversleeping happens and suddenly some lestappen fans are so quick to expect the worst from him? it just makes me sad.

I'm glad you agree with my points, anon, because I genuinely think this whole thing is very normal and undramatic, and I'm sure most adults can relate to having plans that you're fully intending to follow through on and that you're even excited about, only for the plans to fall through last minute because you simply don't have the energy. Or because you just can't wake up on time because your body and mind needs to rest.

As for Max's flippant reaction when asked about it and admitting he overslept and missed it: I think that is such a Max Verstappen response of him to give because, as you say, I don't think it's something he sees the need to issue an extensive public apology about. His response, to me, was everything I would have expected it to be.

I don't think the failed padel date is a big deal at all, and I definitely don't believe there's any drama behind or to it. In fact, I thought it was hilarious because Charles is never going to let Max live this down. And he's probably going to tease Max about it for years and years to come, claiming he didn't show up because he was scared Charles would beat him again. With the way their friendship seems to have developed over the last few years and especially this season, I see it as far more likely that this whole thing is something they can already laugh about together, and not something that will put a damper on how close they seem to have grown lately.

I think the people who are genuinely worried about this impacting their friendship are the same people who genuinely worry about on-track battles impacting their relationship. Historically, I can definitely see their concern and has this happened in 2019, I absolutely think it would have had quite the negative impact on their relationship. But then again, they likely never would have said yes to attending the same padel tournament in 2019, so there's that. They've both grown up and matured a hell of a lot in the past few years, and they have clearly mended their friendship to the point where they're actually starting to grow closer. I genuninely don't think we have anything to worry about at all, and come next season, I honestly believer we will see a continuation of the kind of friendship and bond they've been displaying in the 2023 season.

And you are absolutely right; there is so much proof of Max actually being the biggest sweetheart and one of the nicest people on the grid, which the narrative I was seeing several places yesterday just doesn't align with at all.

"Come Home" — Deku:

I don't even know if this would be considered a fic?? Cuz honestly this was such a short little thing that I wrote in under like 15 minutes 😭 probably the shortest amount of time it's taken me to ever write literally anything. But it was after I watched S6 E136 and literally that night I had a dream where this whole scene was played out in my head. And it just felt so dramatic in the right ways and just raw emotion that I had to write it down. And it's STILL my most liked post on this entire blog😭 but honestly understandable bc sometimes I go back and read it and I'm just like "damn wait I wrote that????" lmfaoo

"Only for you, Toshi" — Shinsou:

Completely opposite from the last one, this is actually the longest thing I've ever written. (that's posted anyway, there's a few longer still in my drafts) I just feel like Shinsou doesn't get enough love but he definitely deserves it😭❤️ all my friends that read it said they really enjoyed it and I'm just really happy with how it came out after working on it for a couple weeks, and that not touching it for a few months and then coming back to it only to finish it in like 2 days lmao

"Attention" — Dabi:

Now this wouldn't be a post about my fics if I didn't include something for my absolute favorite character in the entire show🖤 this fic was very self indulgent bc I'm such a brat🤭 and I'm convinced that Dabi is the king of brat taming. Fun fact, the outfit I described is something I literally own in my closet 😂

"Secrets" — BakuDeku x reader [UNFINISHED]:

This is a multi-part series I'm co-writing with my bsf @haru-x-ren on a joint account we made. (@bunny-x-haru if you'd like to follow) it's currently still a work in progress with only a few parts released, but it is a continuation of a 2 part fic I wrote when I first started called "You're the Only Thing That Makes Sense" — Bakugo So I do recommend reading this one first before Secrets for context and background info. I feel like you can really see my growth in writing from then to now, cuz that was like literally the second thing I ever posted lol. And Haru was literally my biggest fan bc he's the one that got me into writing fanfic<3 so after he read it, he had this absolutely BRILLIANT idea (spoiler) to take the scene I wrote where bakugo and deku were caught fighting after school hours (similar to that scene from season....2? When Bakugo learned about OFA) and turn it into a BakuDeku love triangle and I was honestly obsessed with the idea

And lastly

"For Your Eyes Only" — Dabi:

Another one for my fav<3 this one was for his birthday and is very nasty🤭 also with a little bit of fluff at the end bc I am indeed a hopeless romantic with no romance🥲 also, the cover photo is most definitely the reaction I was imagining when he walks into the room lmao

I know it's been a while since I've posted any writing and I am so sorry 😭 I guess I've just been in a little bit of a funk when it comes to my creativity lately. I mean I've got plenty, and I do mean PLENTY of ideas written down, but Im having a hard time executing them and turning them into something I can post. But I promise I'll get back to posting as soon as I can and I'm really sorry to everyone who has been waiting for stuff😭 I appreciate your patience❤️

Was the name Artyom by any means inspired from the Metro games? 👀

Yes! Metro series is one of my fav games series 😁 And the protagonist, Artyom, is indeed one of my favs for some reason, despite him being a silent protagonist ☺️ I actually included him in this top 10 list fav characters I made a while back.

I know Artyom in Metro is really different from Jackal, but I wanted to kinda insert a little reference to one of my fav games and protagonists ❤️

Also, fun fact, Jackal’s code name is another reference to the Rainbow Six Siege Operator 🤭 Although the Operator is called Jackal for an entirely different reason than Jackal in my story 😆 (The operator is called Jackal because his gadget allows him to track down other operators)

Hey Poet, it's been awhile college's been crazy for me but I'm always so excited to request headcanons from my fav writer! I was wondering if I could request Laudna, Ashton, and Orym where they are at a festival with their normally reserved S/O who once they hear a certain song start gets all giddy and excited and drags their partner out to dance with them. It just seems like such a cute mental image just the music playing with lantern light in the background. These guys just falling deeper and deeper in love with their S/O seeing this more playful side of them. Do the characters join in? Are they good at dancing at all? I just wanted to share the brain rot I have and maybe inspire you. I hope your doing well and having a good day/night.

Dragged Into a Dance By Their Partner

Ashton 💙

Digs their shoes into the ground in an attempt to stay put where they are when you take them by the elbow and point at the festivities ahead. Ashton isn't really a dancer - he's more of a drink until the music sounds good enough to dance type of guy lol. There's a grimace on his face, glancing at the rest of Bell's Hells in search of judgy looks (especially Chetney with his dirty grin) because this is definitely not their scene, but ultimately decides "fuck this, and fuck you all. I'm gonna have some fun" and runs after you.

It's not elegant when you finally have them in your arms and swaying to the local band performing, but it's fun and easy, lazy spins and stepping on each other's toes - both accidentally and intentionally - and it's perfect all the same. They've relaxed a bit, but insists on only dancing with you and you alone, not comfortable enough to join in a group dance.

Surprisingly okay at slow dancing. It's less about technique and more about just being in the moment, which is what Ashton excels at. Whispers gossip and snarky comments about the party members keeping an eye on you both, peeking at them over your shoulder and flipping them off with a laugh as you playfully scold him.

Laudna 💙

The festival's atmosphere is infectious, so lively and hopeful that she's clinging to your arm in pure excitement, pointing out firework displays overhead and craft stalls scattered around. When you approach the town square and begin to hear music, Laudna's grip on you tightens and she pulls you forward.

Soon enough, she's right there in the fray of dancers with you. Smiling with unfiltered joy as she's effortlessly spun from dancer to dancer before returning to sanctuary in your arms. Whenever you meet again, she briefly kisses the apple of your cheek, able to feel her smile against your skin. She lingers longer every time until she can't stand being separated any further.

Knows a little bit of ballroom dancing that might come in handy on the dance floor - a little bit of the foxtrot, a little bit of the waltz. More than happy for you to follow her lead if you're not familiar with the steps, eyes lighting up when you get something right or even stumble a little before trying again. It feels good, normal even, to share this moment with you.

Orym 💙

Don't think he doesn't see you begin to bop you head and tap your foot idly while he and you wait in line for some candied fruits. He pretends not to notice, a fond smile growing on his face as he counts his coppers and purchases the treats. After a while, he reminds you that this is a celebration and that you're allowed to go off and have fun.

He's happy to stand watch at the sidelines while you get swept away by the festivities, a little wary of himself being stepped on if he joined you in the group dance. You spin and skip between strangers, laughing as each one holds you gently or is held gently in your own arms, and it's so carefree and fast paced that Orym's smile begins to make his cheeks ache.

Nods and accepts your offered hand when you sidle up to him, and you both try to accommodate the height difference. Depending on the song, he's standing on your toes while you hold hands, or you might just scoop him up to hold him close and sway slowly and softly. His ear is pressed to your chest, your heartbeat just as rhythmic and lovely as the music surrounding you both.
