Monster trio as fathers

Ft; Luffy, Zoro, Sanji

Cw; Fem reader. Nothing else just fluff.

•Luffy

Luffy gets you pregnant by accident. But he’s not worried about it at all, he’s really happy. “We’re having a baby?! That’s so cool!” He’s very excited to be a father but knows little to nothing about it.

You two have a baby girl. And he’s so happy! He doesn’t care much about the gender of the baby. He’ll love his child no matter what. The second she’s out of you and into his hands he holds her up for everyone to see. “Look! Look she’s here!” He shouts while joyful tears fall from his cheeks.

His little girl gets only the best from Luffy. He bathes her, feeds her and changes her all the time. He feeds her a little bit too much, and she has a never ending stomach like her father. She’s almost always hungry resulting in baby chub.

A giggly baby! This girl loves to laugh! She laughs more then anything else and with her jokester of a father she gets more then enough daily giggles. His stretchy skin makes for a great toy! He can pull on his face and make funny faces. Give her a finger to tug and listen to her laugh as it stretches. And even great to chew on. She kinda ends up thinking every human is like that though and tugs on people randomly. And she’s got a lot of strength for a baby (I mean look at who her dad is.) The force of her tug was enough to trip Zoro.

But once she’s old enough to start crawling and waddling, Luffy’s always active with her, chasing her, playing tag with her and playing with her. Her baby chub quickly melts away with him around. She’s so playful, always babbling and tugging on his leg to chase her and Luffy’s always up for the challenge. She has Luffy’s big wide eyes and looks like a carbon copy of her father.

These two are always talking, like always. Even when she literally can’t communicate beyond a few words and the rest is babbles. He will sit there and listen to her for hours on end and respond to everything she’s saying as if she’s actually speaking. He loves hearing her voice, whether it’s her managing to say ‘papa’ or her spitting her tongue out at him.

He takes her everywhere with him. He’s always holding her close to his chest while exploring new towns and villages. Everyone tells him not to bring her into dangerous places but he doesn’t listen. So to calm everyone’s nerves a little bit, Franky makes him a chest baby carrier that’s reinforced with armor. That only ends up making it worse though because now he thinks he can take her exploring with him. Like this man sees no problem in adventuring in a scary, dark forest where man eating predators are everywhere with a baby. He slingshots back to the ship with her in her carrier giggling against his chest and he feels proud of himself. Only for Nami to hit him and tell him how dangerous that was. The only situation he hands her off to you or someone else is when he’s about to engage in a tough battle. He’s confident in his skills and knows he can win but he’s not taking any chances of his sunshine getting hurt.

Given she looks just like her father, (and the fact he practically shoved her in Koby’s and Helmeppo’s faces when their fleet showed up to apprehend them) the navy knows the king of the pirates has a child. They’ve been trying to wipe you off the map for some time now and the same goes for your daughter despite her only being months old. No matter they’re not getting their hands on her. Luffy is serious when anything has to do with his daughter and if the marines think they can pull a fast one on him and kidnap his daughter, He sends their whole fleet to a watery grave. Even taking out every nearby marine base in the area to send a loud and clear message to the marines. ‘Don’t fuck with his daughter.’

When she’s around 5 the two somehow manage to get even closer then before. With her newfound ability to talk and make sense while doing it. They talk for HOURS. About food, games, books, the sky, fishing, everything. He tells her tales of his adventures and how her papa became pirate king. The two are best friends.

In all honesty he wants another one, maybe two, or three if you let him. She brings him back to when he was a kid and he wants her to have siblings like he did. But then he remembers an important lesson that he passes down to his daughter.

Luffy sits on the thousand Sunny’s figurehead. His daughter sitting besides him and wearing her straw hat that he had passed down to her. The little girl carrying the legacy of the king of the pirates without knowing it. They’re both silent but it’s a comfortable silence. He then looks over to her with a soft smile on his lips, bringing a finger up to her cheek and poking her. He laughs and brings her closer to him sitting her down on his lap. Some wisdom from the past remerges while he watches the sunset with his daughter. And suddenly he begins to speak. “Here’s a little secret sunshine, once you share a bottle of sake, you can become siblings with anyone.”

“Really? That’s all it takes?”

“Of course it does! Your papa would never lie to you! So when you find your long lost sibling. Rejoice with them over sake. Alright?”

“Alright papa!” Luffy smiles and looks at the setting sun wondering what the future held for the little girl who had the world in her palms.

•Zoro

“Run that by me again…?” Just like Luffy, Zoro gets you pregnant by accident. It’s not that he’s scared or anything, you’re the only woman he’d want to have a child with. But it’s just that he’s not prepared. It was something he wasn’t expecting.

The two of you have a baby boy. In all honesty that’s what he was hoping for. You swear while you’re recovering from giving birth you heard him give out a small cheer in trumpet when Chopper announced the gender. ‘Did he think this was a challenge?!’ He’s attached the second he holds him. His son melts his heart when he grasps his giant finger with his tiny one.

Although he wasn’t prepared he’s surprisingly good with a child. He changes him, feeds him and bathes him. Bonding over the little moments like washing out his hair for the first time. You swear you saw tears but this man literally forced the tear back into his eye when you pointed it out.

His son is silent baby. He doesn’t cry, he doesn’t whine. He only lets out small babbles every now and again when he’s trying to get your attention. You ask Chopper if he’s okay and he’s perfectly healthy. He just doesn’t show a lot of emotion. You can get him to laugh, giggle and smile if you try but on the day to day he is totally silent.

When Zoro has to watch him, he trains with him on top of him. Using his son as a little extra weight. It’s kinda adorable actually. He’s lifting up tons of weight above his head while the baby boy is sucking his thumb in the sling around his chest. He’s acting so tough while doing dead lifts. And every time he comes back down he gives his son a little forehead kiss.

When he begins crawling and waddling Zoro is determined to get him walking. He’s literally the best baby coach, always hyping his son up for the littlest things. “ ‘Atta boy!” “That’s my son!” “Did anyone else see that?! That’s my kid! He came from me!” Like- calm down he just clapped his hands. He supports his son in every little thing and helps him walk for the first time. Again he sucks up his tears and pretends he’s not crying. He’s so proud of the little guy.

He mostly hands him off to you when you guys are on a new island. He knows his son is safe with you, and with you holding carrying the baby he can protect both of you at the same time. Plus he’s known to get lost and one of his worse fears is getting lost with his child. If he’s lost by himself as least he knows you two are both safe. If he got lost with his child he’d be paranoid for his child’s safety. He knows he can protect him from any physical harm but he can’t use three sword style with him near. Plus he’d have to make sure he’s hydrated, and well feed and it’s just a lot of stress on him. It’s better if you have him and stick in groups when exploring.

When he’s finally starting to walk on his own Zoro buys him a small wooden toy sword. And just like his father he’s skilled with a sword. He loves it a lot, he likes to swing it on anything and everything. He often knocks anyone who walks past him on their legs and his favorite victim is Sanji. And Zoro’s just like “Yes, Yes hit him!” You apologize daily to Sanji when you find your son has been beating him up all day. Your son is confused, Papa says yes and mama says no. So to please you both he hits Sanji when his father’s near and doesn’t when you’re nearby.

Once he’s 5 Zoro starts training his little boy. He’s not soft on him at all and respects him as a swordsmen. Although Zoro loved his teacher when he was younger he just had wished he had treated him like he was an equal instead of a child. So he instructs his son as if they are equal. Most think this would cause him to relent his father but your son has Roronoa genes and it just bonds him closer with her father.

Zoro’s sword clashes against the smaller sword as his son’s stance was getting tougher and harder to block. Nonetheless Zoro doesn’t let him win. He smacks the sword out of his hand and makes him yield. “That’s another win-“ Zoro goes to speak but he sees the slight tension in his son’s eyes and immediately bends down to the boy’s height. “What’s troubling ya kid?”

“I just don’t get it. I can defeat pirates twice my size, Marines, almost anyone, but I can’t beat you.” Zoro hears his son’s lament and it reminds him of a familiar feeling he had when he was younger. And before he can speak another word Zoro leans in and hugs him. “So? What does it matter. Maybe one day you’ll beat me, maybe one day you won’t. Maybe one day you’ll beat someone stronger than me… maybe you won’t. And that’s okay. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to, and if you want to defeat me well it’ll take a lot longer and more practice.” Zoro picks up the green haired boy and holds him in his hands running a hand through his shaggy locks.

“Don’t pressure yourself. Just worry about what you can do today. Tomorrow will always exist.” Zoro says simply and that calms the five year old’s nerves. The male gives him a smile and ruffles his locks before going to leave the crow’s nest. “Alright now let’s find mama.”

•Sanji

Unlike everyone else, Sanji gets you pregnant because you two think you’re ready for a child. Keyword Is think. “Oh my love~ I’ve prepared the strawberries cream cheese and jalapeños you’ve request~!“ You don’t lift a finger during your pregnancy. Sanji does everything for you and forbids you to go exploring or fight during this time. For better or for worse you stay with the Sunny every time it docks. And Sanji prefers to stay with you every time but if he genuinely can’t and needs to help protect the crew he kisses you like it’s his last every single time.

You two have a baby girl and Sanji is ecstatic. He’s going overboard already, buying hundreds of outfits, toys and baby equipment. He bathes her, cleans her, feeds her and if he knew how Sanji would breath for her. You rarely get to see her and she’s YOUR baby. Like Sanji’s practically raising her all by himself. He does her hair, combing her long blonde locks back into two big pigtails. She looks just like her father, even having his ‘curly brows’.

She’s a shy baby. She’s a scaredy cat, and she cries easily. Sanji’s always there to help her feel better. He’s always there to rock her to sleep, and to play with her to stop her from crying. It takes a while for her to get settled with the crew as they all sorta scared her and made her tear up. But Zoro scared her the most for some odd reason. She starts screaming and crying whenever he enters the room and Sanji immediately gets pissed at him. “GET OUT OF HERE MOSS HEAD!” And your daughter is grateful her father’s there to protect her from that scary man.

He sits her down in a high chair nearby while he’s cooking. Making sure to keep her far away from any harm but close enough encase she falls out of the chair. She loves to sing and babble Melodies. She makes the perfect cooking partner. He listens to her sing while he works and hands off little cuts of food to her to taste. “Hmm this taste good?” He’d ask when he hands her a slice carrot. She babbles happily nodding her head while chewing on the carrot slice.

He’s a helicopter parent. He’s always making sure his baby girl is safe. He’s always checking that knifes are put away, and that she can’t play with anything dangerous. Hell he even bubble wraps some baby toys that are too sharp for his likings (calm down babe it’s a plastic fishing rod). He keeps her away from the railings, standing far back and holding her tightly so there’s no chance of her falling in. The worse thing that could possibly happen to him is if she ever gets hurt. Even small bumps or her falling down breaks his self esteem. “I’m a terrible father, how could I have let this happen.” He soothes her pain to the best of his ability but feels so, so terrible he let it happen.

He’s a picture dad. Whoever let this man get his hands on a camera made the biggest mistake of their lives because now they have to deal with him showing them baby pictures of her. Every single second of the day. “Oh! Oh here’s where she spit out her tongue at her food! And here’s her sleepy face! Isn’t she so adorable!” He gushes over her showing them pictures and taking up their life while his daughter is right there staring at them both. He takes pictures of every little moment and makes not just one scrap book, but multiple. On every island he makes sure to stock up on camera film because it’s most likely going to be gone by tomorrow.

Speaking of which when the Sunny is docked on a new island your daughter is with you at all times. Knowing Luffy’s attraction to danger and how he’s one of the strongest he often has to fight. He instructs you to run and hide in the safest place possible with your daughter if danger arises. He trusts you to protect her but when push comes to shove but he rather you both are safe while there’s danger around. And if you’re threatened, or worse. Your daughter is. Sanji will rip anyone who threatens his family apart and with no remorse. Even women. That’s how you know he’s serious.

When she’s 5 Sanji’s even closer with his little one. He buys her anything she asks for! It’s all worth it just to see her smile. (Nami never gives him allowance anymore since he spent millions of berry on a purebred horse rental for her). She’s the sweetest little girl around, and has a soft spot for animals. She wants to become a veterinarian even. And while Sanji knows little to nothing about animal care, he’s still his daughter’s biggest fan and supporter. But his world opened when he found his daughter we crying, he wondered why but then saw the dead squirrel in her palms. She must have snuck it back on the ship and kept it as a pet, but due to Sanji’s sheltering she didn’t know what was going on. He neglected to teach her about death, he thought such scary things and concepts could wait until she was older but it was clear he made a mistake.

“P-papa….” “Oh come here sweetheart…” Sanji engulfs her in a hug and pulls her into his lap while she cries into his chest. “I don’t know why he won’t wake up! I brought him food and water! B-but he hasn’t woken up in two days! I-I don’t know why but I feel sad! W-what’s wrong with Mr. Squirrel?” As his daughter cries and sniffles against him he doesn’t know where to start really. He stammers over his words before he starts. “Honey…Mr. Squirrel is dead…” “He stopped breathing and now he’s not here anymore. No one knows where you go when you die but he’s not with us anymore.”

“O-oh… well can he come back and say goodbye first?”

“I’m sorry sweetie but that’s not possible.”

“Oh well…. Can… can we die too? Is that gonna happen to you one day? And… mama? And me?”

“Yes sweetheart. Everyone dies. But it’s always at the right time, you’ll make memories you’ll never forget and when it’s time for your journey to end. It must meet its end.”

“I don’t want to die.”

“No one does. And if you could live forever I’d find a way for you too. But for now it’s something that happens to everyone and everything. There’s no need to be scared of it. It’s just apart of life. Don’t worry about it now my love, for now we can burry Mr. Squirrel and have a funeral at the next island. Would you like that my dear?”

The air is quite somber as the little girl processes what death is and that she can’t run away from it. Her tears come to a stop and suddenly she doesn’t feel that sad anymore now that she realizes it’s a part of life. “Mmhmm… I’d like that.” She whispers and Sanji smiles at her picking her up and exiting her bedroom. “Now let’s go find a shoebox to put him in until the next island.”

Okay so I already said in my original Moon Dad post that Steven is the type of man who wants a bunch of kids with you

Like I literally said that he would be the stay at home dad with a million photos of all of his kids and talks all about their achievements, big or small

So when you say you want another kid he's actually been on board since you had/adopted your first

He doesn't really care about the gender of the second kid even though I've made it clear that I just see him being a girl dad

Of course he has a talk with your first to say the whole "You're going to have a sibling and they'll need a lot of attention but that doesn't mean we love you any less.". That whole thing.

Though he does like the idea of having one of each. So if your first is a girl then he'd want a boy next. But again. He doesn't really care.

He's just happy because he gets to have another little one running around

Marc Spector

He'll need a bit to think about it and sit with the idea

It's not that he doesn't want to have a big happy family with you. I actually feel like he does want the whole happy family with the nice house and picket fence

But we know that he has a good amount of self doubt

Sure you and your first helped him kick the idea that he doesn't deserve a happy life but the idea of a second puts him in a funk for a few days for obvious reasons

He will leave it or make the effort to leave it and say yes but he just needs that moment to mentally prepare correctly

Marc does his best to prepare your first into being an older sibling and what that entails and means

It's the usual briefing that most older siblings get when there's going to be a little sibling. "Don't do anything bad or risky because they'll copy you." "They're going to follow you around a lot." "Be gentle"

Marc leaves behind the baggage the best he can and just asks that they love each other the same way he loved his little brother

Being a dad heals him in a way and it heals even more when he has more than one kid

I do think he imagines just two though. Marc hardly even thought of a second child so he's defiantly never thought of a third or more even

But maybe Steven can convince him with the "one for each of us" idea and I mean... the system are like brothers so maybe a third kid wouldn't be too bad

Jake Lockley

I think Jake just says yes because he's just cool with any number of kids you want

He also wouldn't really care about the second one's gender because like I said in my og post he doesn't care if he has a girl she's going to know how to do certain things and maybe how to be rugged

I do feel like he has this sense of pride if he has a good amount of kids. It makes his dad level stronger

I also feel like he gets more methodical in his work and better able to expect the unexpected

Because let's face it. Children are chaotic and unpredictable. So he knows to keep his senses up

Too quiet? Something's happening. Everyone too still? Someone is going to bolt. Giving glances? Plotting.

Jake Lockley knows how this works because everyday his kids are doing something

So yeah, sure. Add another. Add as much as you want.

The Bitch is clueless to fucking everything

He doesn't know how none of this shit works because he never really had a reason to care

He acts like you're dying, like you're supposed to be on bedrest or something. Sometimes you just get really pissed at him for it, especially with your hormones.

Like you will be carrying a basket of berry's you gathered and Lo'ak runs up behind you, "Do you need help with that ma y/n?" - usually you would love the help from your sweet and adorable mate, but he is constantly trying to take things for you and 'help you out' it is honestly just making you feel useless - "No Lo'ak, I do not need any help, thank you." you said with irritation.

Luckily Jake knocks some sense into him, I can't even imagine how going through Neytiri's pregnancy was like but Jake definitely now knows his way around pregnant women. He can see the tension brewing between the two of you and poor Lo'ak has no idea what to do (which is kind of infuriating to you) so Jake ends up giving him some advice.

Things start to go smoother with Jake being Lo'ak's (unknown to you) wingman. You and Lo'ak start to communicate more about what you want. Eventually though, as your stomach starts to get larger, there are some things you have to holdback from doing.

Yet you are still very stubborn and it is hard for you to except that you are not in great condition, Lo'ak is right there with you, finding things for you to help out with temporarily without having to lug around heavy things or do hard work.

He cares a lot about you and he wants you to know that

I can see you two having late night talks about your future little one running around, what kind of things you would teach them, and what story's you'd tell. With you cuddled up to Lo'ak's warm chest, one of his hands rubbing your back and holding you close to him while the other rubs soothing circles on your growing tummy.

He even talks to your baby sometimes, whispering sweet things to your stomach about how he can't wait to meet them.

I can see him wanting a boy but ending up with a girl and absolutely loving it, like I've said before, he is a girl dad. He would just be so good with her.

Neteyam

Neteyam is just straight amazing tbh

He has seen his mother going through pregnancy, so he somewhat knows what it can be like

His protective instincts that are already natural to him just- SKYROCKET to a whole new level

He always wants to be next to you, always looking after you, like Lo'ak he is always trying to help out

Yet, unlike Lo'ak he is not even going to argue with you about participating in your regular activities, he's basically calling the shots for you. He tries not to be controlling but he really wants to protect you.

This obviously leads to an argument, and you start to distance yourself from him. This basically kills him, and you, both needing to be near each other during this time. But as you are both being stubborn as fuck, other people have to get involved. It is surprisingly Neytiri who approaches you first, remembering when she was first pregnant and hating to see you both this upset. She helps you see Neteyam's side a bit clearer, and nudged you and him to talk.

You eventually came to a compromise (with a lot off kisses and cuddles)

He doesn't care what gender the baby is

I can imagine him carving little toys for them, he is literally counting the seconds to your due date

And if you got nervous about it at all, he is immediately there for you. Reassuring you, praying with you, and getting you into a better place in your mind.

He already loves this child and he hasn't even met them yet, he can't wait to teach them everything he knows. Somtimes you guys are talking and he gets WAY ahead of himself. "Nete, the baby is still growing."- "I know ma y/n, I was just saying that when they get their Ikran maybe we could climb-"

He will get you anything you want or need. You have a spacific meal you're craving? Done, he just left hunting to get it. You need another pillow? Boom, he's laying down behind you. Need a message? Want entertainment? You're sad? All taken care of, he's now a professional masseuse, actor, and shoulder to cry on.

In conclusion he is a very cute and very caring partner throughout your pregnancy

he's read every book about "how to raise a child" and has them highlighted and annotated next to his bed. goes to them immediately for guidance whenever your daughter hits any sort of milestone.

he plays with her all day, every day. literally, he jumps out of bed to go bug her because he's so excited to spend time with his little girl 🥺 he'll let her do his hair, paint his nails, and even have little tea parties together.

he's literally putty in her hands. whatever she wants, he gives her. the two of them have to hide away from you when you say no, because the second she pouts up at him, he's crumbling and buying her that candy bar.

makes you be the bad guy because he can't bare the thought of making her upset. literally has to go into another room when she starts crying after being punished because he'll just cave and give her whatever she wants.

your daughter grows up spoiled as fuck but also has impossible dating standards thanks to the expectations eren's set for her.

ever since the beginning, eren's always done the most to help you out around the house. he's not the stereotypical "come home from work and sit on the couch"-dad, he's the "comes home and makes dinner, helps his daughter with her homework, spends the evening watching movies with the family and kissing you and squeezing you on the couch until your kid yells at you to stop"-dad

even after all this time he's still so crazy in love with you and shows you every time the two of you are together. he's always playfully grabbing your ass and making out with you in the kitchen or whistling at you when you come downstairs after getting dressed up. your daughter claims that she hates it -- says that it's gross -- but she still smiles and gushes about how in love her parents are to her friends.

even when she gets older, she's still a daddy's girl and will call him for help or send him memes or teach him about tiktok 💀

⋙ jean kirstein.

jean wants a literal litter of kids, like three minimum. and no gender preference. like you guys just have a designated baby room in the house on the off-chance that he convinces you to let him knock you up again (and he's very persuasive).

he's very nervous with your firstborn but after that he throws all caution to the wind. he figures the first kid turned out alright, so the others should be fine too.

very rough with them!! even the girls!!! he'll throw them up in the air, swing them around by the arms, or tuck them under his arms and run around like he's carrying a football. you're constantly screaming at him to be careful and slow down but he rarely listens.

loves doing big excursions with the family. whether that's a big trip to Disneyland or a day at the waterpark or whatever, he's always got something planned for the weekend that involves strapping all the squirming, upset kidlets into the car and driving for a few hours.

he's always the bad guy. like to the point where if someone does something wrong, all you have to do is say "what dad going to say when he finds out about this?" and they're crying and begging for forgiveness. he's mastered the stern, "i'm not mad, just disappointed in you"-stare that really tears at all of the kids heartstrings.

i feel like he's really into gentle parenting but there was maybe an incident when one of the kids was a toddler that was potentially very dangerous that had him yelling at a child for the first time in his life (immediately burst into tears once he realized everything was ok and was shaking so bad that you had to hold him 🥺)

jean is also insufferably in love with you but he's really weird about having sex when the kids are around. so the two of you end up going on a lot of late-night drives or date nights at hotel rooms so he can fuck another baby into you show you how much he loves you

• Honestly, the very first second he found out you were with child, he would've panicked the shit out of himself. Mainly because both of you were still a young married couple, and clueless about parenting.

• Even if he was awfully terrified of the idea of having to father a child, Luke would still be a very loving, and caring partner. Always making sure all of your needs were properly fulfilled, and would also be extremely protective of you.

• The day your child was born, he would be absolutely FREAKING out, but would try to keep calm just because he knows you're dreadfully suffering through the birth. So, much like Jace, he'd stay by your side, offering you his hand, and whispering sweet words to help you calm down.

• Of course, the second he held his child in his arms right after the birth, he was completely over the clouds with his newborn baby... but his mind couldn't help but wander about the future: how the child will be raised, how is he or she going to feel about duties as a Lord/Lady, scolding, teenage years... etc, etc, and a looong etc.

• *sigh* I can definitely see him asking to his mother, Queen Rhaenyra, for some good parenting/raising advice. And she will gladly give the two of you recommendations on how to raise a babe more than gladly.

• Honestly, kind of gives his children all the liberty they could ever possibly desire. He knows the stress about having to take such important royal roles, such as that of being a Lord/Lady, so he will allow his children to give up on titles if they wish so.

• Much like Jace, he will also train his child (boy or girl) to learn High Valyrian, ride and talk to dragons, learn the history of Westeros and Old Valyria, proper manners, and also, sword training.

• Though, when it comes to swordtraining I feel like the one who takes care of that is Uncle Jace – he's better with swords than Luke, honestly.

• In the particular case of the child being a girl, Luke will obviously also be protective of her, but not overprotective in an extreme case, like Jace would be with a daughter. I feel like he'd give his daughter more freedom when it comes to boys, as long as she takes proper care of herself.

• Again, much like Jace, throughout his daughter's entire life, he'll show her how a boy is supposed to treat her: hair brushing and braiding often, takes her dancing, in her early childhood he'd sit her on his lap and would read her fairytale books, gives her advice on boys and dating, gives her gifts and flowers, etc & etc.

• But, if someone has the audacity to disrespect or harm his girl (or boy, actually) in any possible way, despite not being the best fighter in Westeros, he won't mind in fighting that person.

• ^^ Definitely takes Jace, Arrax, and Vermax with him.

• CHILD CUDDLING. HELL YES. Especially when the child is a baby, he will absolutely not leave his baby's side, and will love to pamper & spoil them. ♡

• Luke will definitely be... awful at scolding. He just can't see himself doing it, so that task passes to you, sorry! :")

okay, I thiiiink these are the same person? Probably? Unclear. I'll answer both here, for clarity.

1 - No, I don't talk about potty training stuff on my main, not anymore. I moved those posts here a couple of years ago. The only content that's there are maybe some reblogs from other regressors.

2 - Okay, first of all, age regressors did NOT come up with those terms, nor do they have exclusive rights to use them. Those terms have been used by people for, like, ever. Parents calling their kids "little ones", family members calling out "littles, come over here!" to refer to any younger members, the obvious origins of "mom" and "dad" and their variants, and "caregivers" being tied to both people who care for babies, children, the elderly, and those with disabilities.

If anything, age players have more rights to the terms "littles" and "caregiver" in the context that we're using on this site. They're the ones who originated/popularized them. I know this because I was here, on this site, in 2016, when age regressors decided to split off from the sfw age play community, and there was legitimately tons of discourse about who had the "right" to those terms.

(who here remembers the chire and the other handful of communities that attempted to exclude anyone who liked the parental nicknames and the usage of the word "little" in their regression? I do. god, do I remember. this is the main reason that a lot of old regression blogs specify that they're "community free regression")

Second, I... don't? Tag anything here as ageplay? Everything here is just tagged with omo tags, then with assorted organizational tags - there is nothing here tagged with agere or ageplay - just posts that use the very vague term of "little" and the other term of "caregiver" within the post itself.

(which, I just feel the need to repeat, is a word that even normies use!! my own parents, aunts, and uncles call me and my cousins littles!!! Outside of that, "Littles" is a shared community term!! Littles and Caregivers, as we use them, originated from Dominant Daddy/Mommy and Little Boy/Little Girl - it's the gender neutral version!! Cg/L! Regressors are the ones who decided to keep it!! Black/ageplay and ABDL on one side, white/agere on the other, with you and me and my friends and mutuals somewhere in the middle, all spread out across!

Plenty of adults don't think anyone should return to the comfort of childhood things, and look at the whole blanket with scorn and disgust. Cutting off more and more of the blanket, because you think that my grey isn't as palatable as your grey, is not going to change these people's minds. Fandoms have really worped peoples idea of what punk is.Obviously the misconceptions and straight up lies about us didn't start with them but they were definitely a huge help in spreading them due to media and the lack of comprehension of it therefore.Like i said in the caption of my recent meme that blew up,being punk is not an aesthetic but a subculture and a policitical movement with the requirements to be one of us being fighting against corruption and helping and generally being kind to minorities and if a character is just edgy without doing that,then they don't deserve to be grouped in with us when they haven't earned it

In real life,when someone goes punk,it's almost always because they're a minority and faced so much discrimation and abuse because of it that they decided to do something about it and that's how they made their decision.I'm not gonna give out details because that would be traumadumping but the reason i went from regular pastel to pastel punk is that i'm a biracial afrolatina who was raised by the white side of their family,mentally disabled because of having a bunch of disorders including autism,mspec and aspec and a former tomboy kid turned femme genderfluid and bigender transmasc.That probably gives you an idea of all i've experienced and those experiences are the reason i decided to start going punk,not because i wanted to be 'cool'.Not that that's inherently a bad reason to but it is a rather ignorant one

Like,look at the characters i used in that meme-Hobie Brown,a black teenager who was forced to grow up too fast or he wouldn't survive,Ichigo Kurosaki,an autistic boy who saw his mom die when he was only a child and was never given therapy and resorted to repressing his emotions to cope and had deal with everyone assuming he was a delinquent based off nothing but his hair color so they treated them badly because of it as far back as middle school,Katara,an indigineous girl born during a 100 year long war who saw her mom get murdered when she was only 4 and adultified and parentified for the next 10 years straight afterwards even though she has an older brother,Luz Noceda,a second gen afro-dominican inmigrant who's bi and gender nonconforming AND neurodivergent and had no friends until her series began because of it,Stephanie Brown,a girl who was emotionally and physically abused by her dad and nearly got csa'd by one of said dad's friend's which traumatized her so much she remembered all the details years later and had to take care of her mom who was a drug addict and then had to deal with a man twice her age constantly degrading her for not being his adoptive son yet calling himself her mentor

Feeling some kinda way right now …. I am gender critical (for real, not trans critical and pro gender roles) so I can’t see it the way most people talking about it are… but I am also in mourning for Nex Benedict, murdered, apparently in the bathroom of a Oklahoma school by three girls beating her. And so much of trans activism right now is fixated ok the “transmisogynistic tumblr staff” “issue” to the point most posts about Nex have less than 200, often less than 100, notes here. It’s weird. And I do wanna say, indirectly, to the trans critical person who wrote “happy peaking” in the comments of one of the posts pointing that out………. Yes that is true but we don’t have to say it. To say it makes it less likely to happen for one, and second it is just wrong to say at a time where a girl died, bullied, quite possibly bullied by (reportedly) other girls who were transphobic and probably just anti gnc, sexist and homophobic too. It’s just not the time ever to rub it in their faces. Show them compassion by actually just talking about this death, use your own words about it or defer to how it sounds like Nex (“they/them”) would want to be talked about… either way…. Talk about the event itself and what it says about our society. I don’t choose to express that care by using pronouns in the same way I don’t say prayers I don’t believe the faiths of, but not at all out of disrespect. We can all do that too and talk about this event as gender critical women who engage on this subject, focusing on what happened and how we can oppose this kind of violent, nasty attack. Honestly we have to remember that the conservatives and the queer theorists are both, in different ways, doing great harm. And between the two the former does the most harm to women and girls. Happy peaking to some of us too, I guess, in our own way, on the idea of every issue being “us versus” a trans “them”

[ID 1, 2: But that actually only gets us so far when it comes to young people and actually, a lot of the problems that trans youth face, although they would be greatly improved if we could deal with some of that anti-trans hatred at the core of the world we live in, it actually wouldn’t be fully resolved. Because a lot of the problems trans youth face have to do with being children, and their transness sort of accelerates the way that adults are used to mistreating, disliking, and even abusing and manipulating them in the name of taking care of them and loving them. This is how modern American, really Anglo-American culture invented childhood in the late 19th century as this protectable, idealized, innocent space that therefore it is ignorant and incapable and inferior to adults. And we like—we can just slow this down for a second to think about how bizarre the West is about some things, okay? It’s like this is truly—okay. Everyone in theory is a child, right? So it’s like, this social status that we’re all supposed to come through, but that we’re like, “Everyone is a child, but children are absolutely less valuable than adults.” So everyone is supposed to go through this debased period in their life.

ID 3: And then if you survive it, you get to be an adult. And kind of the most amazing trick Western culture ever came up with is like, “Then you will have childhood amnesia and you’ll actually never remember what it was like to be a child,” right? Like we can’t actually remember truly how fucked up it was to be treated like we didn’t know shit about ourselves, to be thrown into a world where we didn’t have a hand in writing any of the rules, where adults lied to our faces and are hypocrites all the time and are constantly mistreating us and we’re like, “Wait.” And also our point of view does not matter whatsoever. We’re constantly being told, “You don’t know anything. You are ignorant. You are innocent. I have to protect you.” And where adults are like, “Anyways, so I’m gonna protect you by hurting you.” Right? And then you’re supposed to roll over and be like, “Thank you so much. Oh my god.”

ID 4: And I think that I tend to be pretty polemic about this when I talk about this because I am, you know, a historian of childhood. It’s like, you have to do a little bit of deprogramming, right? We have actually all been taught since before we could consent, to accept being mistreated, to accept being harmed in the name of being cared. We are told that it’s okay to infantilize and make people vulnerable and put them in situations where they’re at the whim of institutional adult power because it’s good for them. It’s literally all victim blaming! Right? And so when that situation is rigged, and every single one of us has been put through a kind of brainwashing, right, because we’re all raised in that culture, right. And then we’re asked to perpetuate it. I mean, it’s just staggering, right? I mean, it’s really, it’s intense, right.

ID 5: But I think one of the lessons that I thought a lot about, right, is like if we could just cut through the fake moral panics around trans people, then we’d get to the real heavy lifting, which is why do we dehumanize and mistreat children on such a widespread scale that we actually have to actively lie to ourselves and mislead ourselves as a culture every second of every day? end ID]

the text above is from jules gill-peterson's gender reveal podcast episode but one of the other things i can't stop thinking about re: paper girls is how it functions as a critique of the way that childhood is lived for adulthood. childhood comes with so much abuse, as described above, and the way that it's justified is in large part by encouraging kids to have huge dreams for their futures -- president, ceo, celebrity -- that will make the years of hardship worth it and turn it all into the first chapter in a story of rags to riches that they'll be proud to tell; the more broad, bootstrappy idea that you have to go through something hard to get to something great operates in the context of childhood in a powerful way. but what happens when the child shows up to confront the adult and finds that their future is not exceptional after all? how is the child supposed to justify their suffering-filled present if not with the mirage of the perfect future where suffering has been transformed into hard-earned success? the kids in paper girls judge their future selves so harshly, and their adult selves have no answers for them as to why they have not become what they dreamed of as children. it is an extremely powerful thing to watch a child ask their grown-up self, why did i suffer this way? and come to understand that there was no justification at all, that the adults who told them it was necessary in service of who they would later become were selling them a lie.

Transfem Katsuki (edited as of Nov. 2023. Katsuki hadn't died yet when this was written so bear with me.)

In honor of "fuck I thought about transfem Katsuki and now I'm in love with her again" and also because of a shitty discourse post I saw. Enjoy.

She will NOT figure it out until at least second year of UA.

She's always been uneasy about the whole boy thing. Specifically boy. Like she's one of the guys ok sure but she's not a boy.

We know how kind Aldera is to anyone who's slightly out of the norm (ie Deku) and Katsuki is especially aware given she was part of the problem. So yeah, internalized transphobia (+homophobia) we love to see it./s

Getting into UA and quickly realizing that like more than half the class is openly and proudly queer in some way gave her whiplash, and as much of a bully as she still was at this point, she didn't say anything.

She tried to convince herself it was to not get in trouble and gamble her place at UA, but really she was just glad to not be somewhere as fucked as her middle school.

And if the trans ponytail chick makes her question who she really wants to be... well that's nobody's business.

As I am very subtly implying, Momo ends up being a big part of Katsuki accepting herself and her identity as a trans woman.

Katsuki loves her friend group (she'll never admit it but she does, so much) but she associates them with her old group from Aldera somewhat unconsciously, and is terrified they'll push her away, even if she knows she's just. Straight up wrong.

As in, so incredibly wrong. Sero and Jirou are non binary ("Whatever the hell that means") Kirishima is a proud trans man ("More of a man than any of the cretins at Aldera will ever be") Mina's dating a trans girl from another school ("Camie Utsushit or smth") and Kaminari is so many different flavors of queer its almost impressive.

Really, her friends are probably the ones that should be worried, she tries to remind herself, hammering it in her head. Katsuki was an asshole for most of her life, they should be the ones scared of her. They're not though. For some fuckin' reason.

So yeah, talking to her friend group is out of the question. Momo though.

Momo is a special kind of trustworthy. Momo is the kind of person you'd give your entire life savings, your child, your car and your wife to. Katsuki hates that, she hates trusting people, it always ends badly, so she prefers doing stuff on her own.

Except it doesn't always end badly. Especially not with Yaomomo.

Every early saturday morning, Katsuki's and Momo's workout sessions happen at the same time. Eventually, they start talking during that time. Katsuki eventually asks about Momo being trans, more or less convinced she'll tell her to go fuck herself (she obviously doesn't).

It helps, despite the fact that her experience isn't the same as Katsuki's at all. Momo always knew she was a girl, her parents always were supportive about it, and money really wasn't a problem to help her transition once she was old enough to make that decision. Hell, she can literally make estrogen.

Katsuki then comes to the realization that yeah, she's probably a girl. Not like I'll ever do shit about it, she thinks.

Things kinda stay stagnant for a time then. Katsuki has way more important stuff to worry about (like exams and also her and her friends almost dying etc etc) and the self-hatred that simmers in her head constantly doesn't make it really fun to actually think about herself.

Second year comes around.

Because this is me, and my blog, and I do what I want, I present to you my son, Shinsou. Most trans guygirl t4t lesbian of all time. In my heart.

So Shinsou is very trans in the most mysterious way you could think of, so mysterious he himself doesn't really know what is going on with his gender. He doesn't exactly care, he just vibes (any pronouns).

They're pretty knowledgeable on queer stuff because it loves to read wikipedia pages until 5AM when it can't sleep and got lost on multiple LGBTQ+ related forums when she was 13. (He also knows a lot about chickens and lizards.)

She can just breathe the queer coming out of Katsuki, but when they ask they're just met with "oh Bakugou? Yeah no, he's cishet. Our token straight man. To prove we're diverse, etc." (-Shouji, entirely serious). Shinsou's not buying it but she doesn't like assuming, so he shuts up.

Meanwhile, Katsuki has nothing to think about anymore now that things have settled and she's not getting attacked by her self-hatred constantly, so she unfortunately ends up thinking about her gender (truly tragic. Genuinely though, it's almost distressing because she pushed the thought down for so long that it's scary to think about).

Because early mornings and nights are a time outside of our world, it's again around 5AM that Katsuki talks to someone who might help her with her gender problem. Shinsou in fact, who's of course awake on a Monday morning after a sleepless night, eating cereal out of the box.

Katsuki finds herself chatting with the weirdo and eventually asks what the fuck kinda gender it is, if only to be able to call her something else than the weirdo in her head.

The realization that gender is a construct and doesn't really fucking exist so it doesn't actually matter is somewhat of an epiphany for Katsuki. Like she's silent for multiple minutes. Shinsou is getting scared

Quietly, she mutters a small "I think I'm a girl" to Shinsou. It smiles and says "Nice. There's not enough girls in this class." and goes back to its cereal.

Katsuki has no fucking idea how that fucker exists. He's an anomaly in the timeline. Katsuki adores them.

(Platonically. Girl doesn't have time for romantic love. Yes I'm also making her aromantic, because aro Katsuki is the loml and one of my fave hcs.)

After that weird but insightful conversation, Katsuki finally asks Momo for help, taking her up on an offer she had made one morning. ("If you ever need my help for anything concerning [your gender bullshit], come see me.")

Momo being the absolute QUEEN that she is, she assembles all transgirls and cisgirls of the class + whoever else would like to join (which ends up being Jirou, Shinsou and Aoyama) and they all go on a shopping trip with Katsuki to help her figure out what she likes.

Does she want to wear makeup? Does she want feminine clothes? Or long hair? Does she want boobs? Or thinner traits?

Does she just want different pronouns and to be addressed viewed as a girl?

Mina shortens that as "What kinda girl is Katsuki".

I'll do you the answer here so this doesn't take forever, because the process of figuring it out must be long.

Mainly, the verdict will eventually be that Katsuki didn't really feel comfortable in the box she, her parents and Aldera put her in, which is a sort of vague idea of a Boy, Man, Son. She's mean and a bitch and probably a tomboy and she's a girl. That's all. She doesn't want of any of that flowery pink crap and being "gracefully feminine" like Momo is, she'll still kick your teeth in. Being a girl isn't fundamentally part of her identity or her personality, but it's who she's comfortable being.

She does enjoy skirts once she feels comfortable enough to wear them. She grows her hair a bit too (because she doesn't wanna look like her mother at first, but she ends up liking the look) and puts it up in a ponytail.

Makeup is a bitch but it looks cool, so she lets Mina, Aoyama and Shinsou use her face as a canevas for their weird makeup experiments. She thinks she looks like a clown half the time though (she doesn't, she's really cute). She mostly does eyeliner, which she already knew how to do before starting her transition, and very rarely lipgloss.

She doesn't really care about having breasts or softer traits, mainly because her traits are already pretty androgynous when she looks at herself, and she's already got big pecs so like. Basically tits. It's the same, it doesn't really matter. She's happy with how her body looks, she worked to have a healthy body and she doesn't care if it's "not a woman's body" or whatever the fuck. She likes how her body is and she doesn't really care about changing it.

She thinks of using she/they (like Jirou) but doesn't exactly care about they/them? Like they're not bad to have used on her (way better than he/him) but she prefers just using she/her.

She doesn't change her first name. It means victory, so it's already perfect for her. It's her name.

Some of her friends (the ones who aren't scared of death cough cough Shinsou) call her Katsuki-chan (Kacchan is copyrighted) but most her friends call her Kats', because she let slip one time she thinks it's cute.

1. she 1000% regrets killing her and you cannot convince me otherwise. it’s like pulling teeth to get her to admit it but it was such an impulse move that she definitely did not think out and the severity of the literal murder she committed doesn’t hit until after the fact. grell and anne were definitely like…insanely codependent and there’s no way their relationship wasn’t tumultuous and i’ve always hced that grell regularly tries to test the limits by sabotaging the relationship when she’s pissed except OOPS this time she can’t take it back. and she pretends it doesn’t haunt her but it very much does and she misses her so bad and wants to jump off a cliff about it.

2. she deserted the second she saw a hot girl covered in blood to go kill people so she’s definitely not that worried about her immortal soul. i think bc of the fact that she’s trans in the 1800s (a definitively unfun combination) she probably already had brainworms drilled into her head about her existence being sinful or whatever (i’m just assuming she was raised christian cuz like. probably) so when she bites it and is presented with a variation on purgatory and the eventual promise of something vaguely heavenlike she’s just like “hm are we sure about that” which is probably part of her willingness to say fuck it and commit atrocities. there’s also the existential terror of it all cuz like killing yourself and then being immortal is a Bad Predicament and worse when u add the trans layer and that probably contributed to her general attitude and probably made her not very fond of the divine powers that be. so i feel like her mindset is kinda just “idk if i wanna go to heaven this god guy kinda sucks.” so yeah she just sucks up work to pay her divine rent and also cuz the immortality thing makes her able to express herself but the actual redemptive point of reapering is not something that she cares about that much and she kinda thinks she might be a lost cause at this point. it’s just a job to her.

3. *cracks knuckles* oh i could talk about this FOREVERRRR my backstory for her is so fucking detailed for no reason. but yeah her human life SUCKED! it sucked real bad. she was a sad little pushover with an abusive dad and a mom who Did Not Want Her and she lived with them until she died. she was a Problem Child and she kinda just retreated into herself the older she got bc she was trying to not get abused about it. she has def always been deeply unstable and that was noticeable to the people around her (including her parents who Did Not Like That and were generally ashamed of her) and bc of that she was a very lonely person.

her dad was a bookbinder (according to my notes app. i think i looked up like middle class jobs 1810s or something but if that’s inaccurate just replace it with like a standard middle class job. point is her family was normal and boring financially). her mom was significantly younger than her dad and did not want to be married to him but was essentially baby trapped and grell faced the brunt of that resentment. very bad household to exist in general but especially when u are a deeply mentally ill queer child. they were also religious which is just another fun layer bc i like projecting my horrible experiences onto my blorbos. but yeah grell grew up in that hellish house and never got out. she wanted to pursue acting but it never went anywhere. she had a brief on and off fling with a guy in her early 20s but she was uncomfortable for gender reasons she could not verbalize so she basically sabotaged the shit out of it. she stuck it out until she was 27 but after years of literally nothing good or interesting happening ever and her just constantly feeling miserable and like peeling off her own skin she reached a breaking point and boom now she is immortal. would go into more detail but i’m too lazy to do the historical research rn lmao

⚜ — a study in knightgirlisms; the jean gender (jeander) analysis.

nobody asked but i am answering anyway.

this is entirely a self indulgent word vomit, but for some context: i have been diseased about jean for a really really long time. of course throughout the years my interest in genshin has had its ups and downs, so in starting gnostic hymns and revisiting my oldest and dearest fav, a lot of old headcanons and thoughts are resurfacing.

since i now have an outlet to voice them: welcome to my completely disorganized ramble about jean gunnhildr being just a girl.

For what is literally the oldest clan in Mondstadt, the actual information we have on the Gunnhildr clan itself doesn't detail any more than two (2) of its leaders since earning its name.

The first, its namesake, Gunnhildr. The second? Jean.

We actually never have it specified why or how Jean has been chosen as its successor, just that her mother has raised her to be. Reasonably, one would assume that her mother had been its leader based on such, but then even that isn't outright stated. All you get to know about Frederica Gunnhildr is that she's a knight of the clan. Awesome. We literally don't even know what being leader of the Gunnhildr clan means in present times.

And you can't exactly correlate the status of successor to the (seemingly entirely separate) title of Dandelion/Lion Fang Knight that was given to Jean at age fifteen, as it has literally nothing to do with the Gunnhildrs at all and was also given to her after she would have been declared the clan's successor.

I would like to believe that the Gunnhildr clan's leaders have been predominantly female, but then again I couldn't really tell you. They have existed for three thousand years so only having two names doesn't prove much of anything.

The biggest takeaway, at least, is that Jean's entire life has been focused upon becoming a knight. From day one she has known that protecting Mondstadt would be her purpose, and has carried the weight of countless responsibilities and expectations. Regardless of the gender of those who she was surrounded by, Jean never really had a chance to care for much other than her future. Trivial things that would be considered traditionally feminine just didn't matter as much.

To top it off, we know Jean to have been childhood friends with Diluc (as well as Kaeya by association though I actually cannot recall if that relationship is every explicitly mentioned in canon) which I personally think would only aid in her disinterest in femininity. Who needs to care about dresses and makeup when you can chase your friend around with a stick or whatever.

So now you're thinking "Lina what the fuck does this have to do with right now" and that's a really fair question so here's the part of the essay that is actually the whole point of why we are here.

I think, to put it plainly, Jean's relationship with gender (specifically femininity) is complicated. It plays a very small role in the world as she views it. However I believe that the part of Jean that does perceive it wishes to be more in touch with it.

It's an absent kind of thing-- she didn't have the time for it as a child and she certainly doesn't have the time for it now-- but I believe it to be there in a couple of things. The most specific being her affinity for romance.

This is the part of the post where I look you in the face and tell you that Hoyoverse sucks and is wrong and I am about to entirely undermine a single sentence of their stupid fucking lore.

From Character story 5:

Master Jean has yet another secret. No matter how many times she has read the historical classics, despite her title of Dandelion Knight, and though she has become the Acting Grand Master whom everyone relies on... Jean still loves romance novels. This is not for the years as a young girl that she missed amid her training and duties, or due to the rift that formed in her parents' marriage. Jean simply yearns for the mutual attraction spoken of in such stories, for those emotions as subtle and fragile as spider-silk. As a knight, she must put Mondstadt and the Knights of Favonius first. But...

I'M SORRY?

Be so for real right now. What. Like. What. Huh. Wh.

So basically this entire post was to come down to this one line and tell you all in a very loud TED Talk sort of way that I don't know what the fuck Hoyo is trying to say by declaring neither of those things to have ANY relation to this interest, but that I disagree. I think it makes perfect sense for a woman who was denied girlhood to have wistful thoughts of romance like in the books. I feel it seems ridiculously out of place as a part of her character without that context, in fact.

Fuck this noise. Anyhow.

Her summer skin in game also has quite the flowery description, as follows:

The Acting Grand Master's life runs like the gears of a machine, driven by the great force of heavy responsibility, constantly being ground down by work. Over time, the armor of chivalry has become like Jean's second skin, the presentation of proper dress code and a formal image becoming ever more firmly forged into her nature. But in truth, Jean is no older than the ordinary young women around her. In the novels that these young ladies enjoy, gorgeous gowns are as quintessential as sun, moon, and starlight themselves, and some opulent noble scions do indeed sit pretty in dresses that sprawl out like palaces, their hem-lines and long skirts intertwined like the lapping waves of the sea. Perhaps Jean once had such romantic aspirations too. After all, who has never hankered after the blissful beauty of luxury?

Which I think, when tied in with the knowledge of her love for those novels, highlights an interest in more than just the relationships within them.

(Also this outfit having been a shared effort by just about every friend of hers within Mondstadt, I can't help but assume that the way she seems to covet the idea of being Just A Girl is something that those close to her have picked up on. Especially Barabara, Amber, and Lisa.)

So, at the end of it all, I offer you my silly little knight who (whether hoyo agrees or not) has some internalized self image things to work out that she never will because she's literally this tweet.

OKAY OKAY...........

i've been writing afhiri x gale for a couple days now without any real breaks. nothing that i can share mostly writing alternative ways to handle storybeats i know i want. and i just came to the conclusion that i keep making afhiri more childish and more feral. i'm adding to her impulsiveness and unpredictability and giving them more energy. and i realised something about that!

afhiri was forced to grow up when she was very young, she was a child caring for other children like a parent. they had to repress herself to be what they had to be for her siblings, so when she moves out she quickly starts regressing to the child self they never got to be. so the afhiri that everyone knows throughout the game is a young adult acting much like a child would, rejecting responsibility, not caring about the severity of things, to the point she just doesn't understand what's going on, acting foolishly and recklessly, endangering themselves at every turn. the "afhiri toddler harness" joke is painfully not a joke because leaving them to their own devices is dangerous. i literally created an oc (candor uwu) to go with afhiri in order to make some realistic way for her to survive the year between leaving her home and adventuring to the events of the game because i just sat there like. huh. afhiri would fucking die if they didn't have someone to keep them alive.

lets look at afhiri's primary traits for a sec ignoring how gendered some of these are

the fool

genki girl

plucky girl

cuckoosnarker

magical clown

plucky comic relief

let's also think about the fact afhiri is a manic pixie dream girl for a second

and at the character inspiration sheet i made for them!

this isn't an emotionally mature character who can look after themselves - with intent by afhiri themselves. afhiri doesn't want to look after people anymore, they don't want to be relied on, they don't want responsibility. afhiri is rejecting everything they were forced to be. afhiri wants to have fun, kill rich people and be free to do whatever the hell they want. afhiri only wants independence and the ability to choose who they are.

now think about this type of character in a romantic relationship. this can only really go a few ways.

it's completely lighthearted and fun and it survives on the fact that nothing is asked of afhiri beyond having a good time. this is the basis of many afhiri relationships! its all good fun

it crashes and burns because the other party asks afhiri to grow up - to emotionally mature - to be responsible - to be an adult - to act her age. this isn't going to work, afhiri will feel threatened by this, reject it and reject them. not because afhiri will never do that again, but because it feels like an attack on their freedom, their independence, their ability to choose for themselves. it feels forced on them - so they run

lastly - it's being with someone who will take all the adult responsibly requires of them both on their own. someone who enjoys afhiri being how she is and doesn't want that to change, and is fully willing to look after her in the way she requires in order to stay as she is. inherently this will have a power imbalance, and afhiri will have complete dependency on them whether they realise it or not.

you can totally theorise where afhiri's various partners fit on this, most of them are in the first bullet point because afhiri doesn't exactly invite getting into a serious relationship with them. it has to be the other party who seeks that and makes it happen - and does it all in a way that afhiri doesn't feel threatened - avoiding the second bulletpoint.

gale is the final bulletpoint for afhiri. their entire relationship is built on the basis that he looks after her. he likes how feral she is, how reckless she can be, how fun and full of life she is, the never ending energy and the childlike innocence she displays. he likes how blunt they are and how they do whatever they want without thinking for even a second on if it's a good idea. it keeps him young and fit, he finds it amusing and charming. and he's perfectly happy to take care of them, cook for them, clean up after them, wash their clothes, stop them from attacking that guard in the middle of the street because he exists and afhiri hates that (acab afhiri real). and it also requires gale to let her go when she needs it. it takes afhiri years to move in with him and years to marry him, afhiri spends several months a year not in contact with him because she goes off adventuring all on her own, sometimes she even forgets to say something. being with afhiri isn't exactly easy, but they make it work... because gale is willing to make it work. afhiri is just vibing man.

“I need your help.” Tanaka pleaded.

“What now?” He asked.

“She’s trying to cook, so you have to cook for me so I can feed her.” Tanaka answered.

“What happened to women can do anything?” Suga asked.

“Yes, good point Sugawara, what happened to that?” Your voice surprised him but Tanaka decided that he wasn’t going to leave you.

“Things are different now!” Tanaka answered.

“(Y/N)’s pregnant, not dying.” Sugwara sighed.

“Can you help me just once?” He asked.

“Tanaka by all means I will look after your child for 9 hours but I’m not cooking for you for 9 months.”

“Sorry for bothering you Suga, I’ll just get him tickets to go see Noya, then won’t let him back for 9 months.” You suggested.

“Sound like a good plan.” Suga laughed.

“Not funny guys.” Tanaka said.

“Say goodbye and then go set the table please.” You ordered.

“Fine.” Tanaka mumbled.

Thank you Liz! Sorry this took a bit of time but I didn't realize how much I had to say on Carly. Anyway! Hope you enjoy! EW spoilers tw: brief mentions and implications of abuse and suicide just in case nothing is graphic

fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?

Carly is very fearful of being powerless. She grew up powerless and vowed to never be that way again. Like sure she got out but at what cost to herself? In any universe this is true and it is also true that she is not open about it. Very few people know her story and she keeps it that way. Stasia knows and understands the feelings, but she also figured it out right away or at least overall idea she never asked for details. In ffxiv Carly only ever tells the whole story very vulnerably to Zenos and its a big part of why she's so connected to him, why she gets so angry when he well perishes. He's seen the real her (which is very literal in this case, temporarily, as she let her dark side take over and in that moment her eyes shifted from red back to their original emerald green and her hair to its naturally darker color) and still chose to have her despite the weakness within. You can also see it in little hints here and there if you know what to look for, but she does a very good job in hiding it overall.

hate: What does your OC hate? Why? How do they act towards the object of their hatred?

Carly holds a lot of hatred for the world as a whole because she suffered so much trauma and no one was very kind to her. To get more specific she has a bit more of a hatred to the cis male population from the power they hold in society, to how they objectified her, the way the spoke about her rise to power, and overall just the negatives they have. A lot of this is due to life experiences, and once having power she takes more joy from playing and toying with them. She also has a deep deep hatred for abusers. She may not save the person being abused but she will kill them if she's allowed to (sometimes upsettingly she has to let them live for political business reasons). This is gender neutral and doesn't even have to be a parent to child or partner to partner, she will not stand for those in a town being against a single person as its the same thing in her eyes. This is also where it starts to look like she's killing people for little things which yeah on occasion but overall she's looking for a pattern and she gives you at least a second chance (kind of mostly you get one freebie to say something and then change behavior and she won't give you a warning), but some like in ffxiv where some soldiers make an insinuation that another female half-garlean soldier fucked her way through the ranks and that was an on sight kill (she did politely offer the woman one of them to kill but the other girl didn't want to).

A little more specific hatred she hates Siberite with a passion because she finds her heroism to be very hypocritical and she killed the love of her life. Its a complex situation between them but she will never get over Siberite killing a person when all she claimed to kill (initially) were primal beings/monsters. Zenos was never monstrous in Carly's eyes, and the fact was no one else bothered to try and look past that. Siberite and the Scions all came out of Shadowbringers having a better understanding on listening to the enemy and seeing their side but they still in her opinion never extended the same courtesy to her or Zenos. She also finds it the utmost disrespectful act of not even bothering to try and bring back his body (never mind that she was planning on bringing him back from the dead) so he could at least be given the bare minimum of respect of being laid to rest which is something that Siberite claimed to care about. Needless to say next expansion is going to be quite interesting between these two.

hide: What does your OC hide? Why do they hide it?

Carly really hides her past and her childhood. It is so very very rare for her to divulge anything about it that you are really fuckin' special if you know anything about it. There is a reason why her last name is Doe when I tag things as her human time because she doesn't even use her birth name. She will let you assume (mostly) whatever you like about her past because its not her, she's no longer that person and therefore no longer relevant. In her og verse Stasia knows all the face value details (name, birthday, place of birth etc.) because Carly did care for her younger brother and arranged for funds to be sent to him for his care in his older years and so her nieces and nephews could have a decent inheritance. Other than that good luck, I hope you survive.

midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?

Carly used to have a lot of nightmares when she was fresh from the abuse of her mother and in her og verse from WWII being in the London bombings and taking on being a field nurse essentially. It gets a little complicated in that she's younger in ffxiv when she kills her mother and runs away from it vs og verse where she's an adult and uses the war to get away from her, because the dreams themselves are different and present differently.

In her og verse she has a deep fear of her mother coming back into her life and dictating it that she never dreamed of her mother beating her but of morphing into her because of the control her mother would exert. It wouldn't wake her in a cold sweat but in her everyday life you could see it in the way she made choices in life. She threw herself into the war effort of the USO to get sent overseas, once there she had quick and fast relationships hoping to find a decent man to marry so that her mother could have no say in her life since she'd be married. She moved to Vegas under a fake name to get in with the mob or at least someone powerful to just keep the little power she did have being out from her mother. Stasia provided the most for her and it created that deep loyalty to her.

In ffxiv she's 16 when she murders her mother and is on the run and she has nightmares every night of the abuse and they worsen on the days she didn't have much to eat since she was also starved to keep a dancer's physique. She's convinced in some way that her mother would come back for her and it would all begin again, which was unfounded because she dismembered that woman. But it all weighed so heavily because she was a kid and had nothing else to fall back on nor means to really make a name for herself given her half Garlean status, so there was a time where she just figured it was better to be dead then trying to keep looking for something to hold on to. However it was this act that brought her to finding the job stone of a Dark Knight and learning how to fight which would lead to her joining up in the Garlean army and finding herself under Gaius' charge until she was found by Stasia. The nightmares stopped after she took up Dark Knight, but unlike og verse where they stopped because she found power, in ffxiv its because she very literally let her dark side take over and inhabits her body. (a little weird and hard to explain but like it works guess think of it like Venom and their host getting along)
