but let's ignore the fact that your love language IS BULLYING so that i can disprove those preposterous rumours of cowardice that you've been spreading around about me
meeting noel wasn't really a life-altering experience but deciding to invite him over for that first movie night that lead to a sleep over definitely was. see noel has this type of... disarming confidence that sort of scared me at first, but after a long rant about anime (and the assurance that there was something queer afoot with this guy), i decided to give this a try yknow? after all this is uni and I'm not in my home town and I don't wanna have zero friends here so i put on my big human pants and gave it a shot.
you would not believe how well it worked. see noel has this loud unabashed and pretty much shameless personality that i wasn't sure if i could work with. I'm the type of person that has a history of always being the one to compromise for the louder personality without saying anything and letting things bottle up until i literally decide to cut the other off, so i was cautious about managing my old bad habits and not letting them have a say in this new friendship.
enter stage right noel, who is loud and shameless but so so fucking considerate, who will ask and check, who is so careful about not making me feel uncomfortable (and the fact that i never feel bad about redirecting a conversation because of that speaks for itself). noel, who will initiate conversations that feel so meta because talking about your friendship with the friend involved isn't something i was used to at that point WHICH IS INSANE BECAUSE ITS SO USEFUL.
funnily enough, despite his loud energy (and i have never found anything funnier than this), his gamer rage is a "ts" that barely sounds mildly annoyed. it's endearing and utterly hilarious.
also, and i know noel being autistic plays a part in this but let me tell you, as someone that gets anxious and is a bit of an overthinker, the honesty that's always a part of my interactions with noel is so refreshing. and the fact that on top of all this, this guy doesn't even complain about living in a state of semi-constant confusion at my sarcasm. and by sarcasm, i mean that i sarcastically responded to noel telling me that I'm a sarcastic person okay? it's not just your casual run-of-the-mill thing, i live and breathe in sarcasm and this guy right here (who called me an eldritch being which feels like such a compliment) doesn't even complain. IN FACT i had to needle him into telling me to use /j or /s via texting, which he would never bring up himself ig and honestly. YOU'RE SO CONSIDERATE BUT NOT TO YOURSELF.
ahem moving on. noel is a also a fucking bully in the most loving way possible. we once highjacked a video call for a uni project just to snipe at each other with petty fake (or not so fake but meant with love) insults BECAUSE I COULDN'T TAKE THE ABUSE AND I STAND BY THIS; HE STARTED IT.
he's the guy that calls me out so. much. who loves to needle me and tease me because that's what i signed up for apparently. it took me a bit to figure out how to go about it in a way that didn't lead to me accidentally internalizing the wrong thing, but once i figured that out it was game on.
conversations with noel will span from us aggressively calling each other out, to pretending to be a victorian couple to yelling about cute animals and raving about our specific extremely interesting thing at the moment. this guy has shown me so many different and diverse fandoms, from the owl house (which i still need to finish but whatever) to bee and puppycat to anything link and hyrule related. in return, i try to keep my rants about star wars (which i absolutely love and he absolutely cannot stand to listen too much about) to a minimum (which only works sometimes, sorry). and this right here is so important to me.
I've never had this dynamic before. this mutual understanding of i scream about my thing and you scream about your thing, and we focus as much as we can and if we can't we let the other know and they can scream later or scream via text so we can see it in a few days. that is something that i will never stop appreciating, something that i just wont stop loving about me and noel.
noel is the guy that's always there when i drop drinks (milk and alcohol most notably) on my carpet because istg it never happens when I'm alone or with anyone else. noel is the guy that decided to start writing down this wild au i pitched at him, which we started obsessing over and developing for the entirety of january iirc (and this is what urged me to also start writing about it and suddenly we're writing buddies which is such a fun and interesting experience).
he's the guy that was worried that me losing my social battery meant he did something wrong (something that i hope I've disproved by now, and also I NEVER SEEM TO LOSE MY BATTERY WITH THIS GUY?? I've literally never had this happen with any of my other friends but with noel it takes so long for me to me to go mm i need alone time),
noel has also, at many points this last year, practically moved in with me and yknow what? the absolute peace and calm adoration that i felt when i got home from a uni meeting to see him on my chair drawing, there are no words for it i swear

'Fucking what.'
Observer Mirabel blinked hard, seeing the blue screen infront of her face as she lied down.
"What the FUCK???" She shrieked, confused and shocked.
At the same time, all her friends got the same screen in different rooms.
"What is this, a fucking crossover AU!?" Solaris yelled out.
Hollow Julieta looked at the screen, clicked [Okay.], and walked to her closet. "Why is it every single time I go on with an adventure with the little ones, havoc happens." She muttered under her breath.
"I'm a fucking horse, why did you damn constellations pick me?" Shadow Facade groaned.
Scrappy Mirabel stopped dead on her tracks while training her martial arts, "Eh?"
A few minutes later, and all of them were in the living room.
"Okay, which one of you fuckers made them pick us? And why is this the wrong AU even though we went through the right portal?" Observer asked.
Hollow Julieta arched an eyebrow and crossed her arms, "No sé, descúbrelo tú mismo." She blinked, confused to why Solaris can be seen looking at her, shocked.
"Pi! J gpshpu bcpvu uif usbotmbups gps uif sfbefst." Shadow Facade corrected, and casted a spell to everyone but Observer.
"The fuck was that?" Solaris asked, "The translator– languages and codes– broke while she called us here, so I guess the readers didn't know what we both said." Facade nervously smiled.
Scrappy Mirabel clapped her hands. "Okay! Who read both of the manhwa?" She asked, Hollow rose her hand.
Seeing everyone's shocked faces, she replied. "What? Do you all think that I only train when I'm bored? I also read novels, manhwas, and comics."
Scrap snapped her hand, "Great!"
"Hollow you're going in the bus." Observer ordered, making the adult woman scowl.
She shook her head, "I decline that order, all of us must be in the bus together, and we need ants for the first kill."
[The constellation, Secretive Plotter, agreed on Hollow Julieta's statement.]
"What the FUCK—" "Well at least we know we can see the notifications." Scrap mumbled.
[Poseidon donated 2,000 coins!]
[Constellation Demon-like Judge Of Fire has donated 5,000 coins!]
[O—] Solaris clicked [Okay.] before it even formed completely and instantly dumped a million coins to their screen.

They speed ran the first two scenarios because of magic and super soldier abilities and decided to just fake their deaths to get out of the portal.

A Jikook Guide to RunBTS: 112-121
Yes, I'm still doing these! It's just happening more slowly than I'd like because writing for work + writing fic + trying to go to bed before midnight + so much amazing content being released that clearly must be poured over and dissected = less time to make guides. For anyone still with me, he's the next section!
Ep 112 “Dalbang School Part 1” (Ep: 5 / KM: 4)
The ones with BTS in a classroom driving Teacher Jin insane
5:58 - JM declares that he and Taehyung will pair up (by being the first to hug each other in a game), but then when Hobi blows the whistle at 6:38, JK runs over to hug JM before Tae can get to him.
6:58 - Jin asks why JM said he wanted Tae and then hugged JK. JM explains that he didn't hug him, he just found himself in JK's hug as JK cackles in the background.
7:24 - When Jin blows his whistle at the class, JK and JM mirror each other in putting a finger in one of their ears.
7:35 - Teammates JK and JM are immediately on the same page about wanting their team name to be Kim Seokjin. When they have to change it, JM quickly picks up JK's suggestion that they call their team Bang Sihyuk.
These don't sound like particularly unique moments, but when you watch it, it just really strikes you how in sync the two of them are in terms of physicality, ideas, and sense of humor.
9:52 - After Jin comments that he heard JM did very well in school, JK adds that JM was the top student. When someone else asks if JM was the best or second-best, JK forcefully reiterates that he was the best student.
12:45 - When they get a question right, JK and JM clasp hands and bump their shoulders together.

7:41 - As RM & JH take their turn, jikook are whispering to each other in the back row.
11:42 - After quickly agreeing on a lunch option, jikook do a high five / handshake thing and then JM says "we think alike" and "we get along pretty well." JK responds "that's exactly it" and the on-screen captions tells us they are a "good match."
22:20 - This is where JK and JM start switching back and forth carrying each other on their backs to get under a limbo stick.
They go again at 23:35, 26:11, and 28:13.
And again at 30:22 and 32:16 and 34:30 because, even though they lost, they want to try to do it again to show that they can as a "matter of pride."

Ep 118 “Photo Story Part 1” (Ep: 3 / KM: 3)
The ones where BTS play a Samsung-sponsored game involving getting specific pictures while a spy tries to ruin the fun
4:22 - JM appears to direct JK to go punish Tae and pats JK's back when he starts to obey. Something happens that we don't see when the angle changes - next thing we see, JM seems to be pushing JK? JM then giggles at JK pretending to beat up Tae. (After this, JK spins around like a ballerina. Not jikook-related, just adorable.)
29:51 - JK calls Jimin twice without adding "hyung."
32:28 - JM pulls JK along by the wrist. Meanwhile, J-Hope once again mixes up their names.
32:44 - Though there is now a group walking slowly together and he doesn't need to pull him along anymore, Jimin takes JK's hand again.
37:02 - There are a bunch of seats open in the room, but Jimin walks over to sit right next to JK.

5:40 - When JM tries to steal a post-it from JK, JK scolds him in satoori banmal. JM calls him out for not calling him with hyung and JK quickly apologizes (in a way some k-army jikookers have said is like how a married person would respond to their nagging spouse!).

There's a kind of weird moment that I fully admit I may be reading too much into where JK seems to be walking right towards JM, then abruptly stops and turns, looking at the camera, before walking with Jimin in a different direction than he had been heading. Then, JM says he thinks their matching shirts are hilarious and that it's funny they're wearing them for the show.
Ep 119 “Photo Story Part 2” (Ep: 4 / KM: 3)
8:21 - "You are me, I am you" moment: Jimin does a ballet spin the same way JK did in part one.
11:18 - JK is the only one to vote for JM to be able to keep a picture in other than Jin (who has nefarious reasons for doing so).
29:40 - JM goes over to help JK see how many of his photos the spy ruined and almost falls over laughing when it becomes clear it's nearly all of them.

Not explicitly jikook, I just find it funny that the writers seem to be playing with some real life relationships, making sope best friends and jikook have tension that leads to banter...

Week #12 Blog Post due 11/11
1. Why did Intel pull the ads that they had on Gamasutra? Was it smart to remove the ads?
Intel removed their ads on Gamasutra because they realized what they had gotten into with the gamers. According to Hathaway, “The company appeared to realize it had been duped by gamers—and fake gamers—into supporting a misogynist movement” (9). They made a statement that said that they were sorry if they offended anyone, and that they do “not support any organization or movement that discriminates against women” (9). This was very smart of the company Intel to realize this and removed the ads right away. They do not want to be associated with things that discriminate against women, and they also do not want to lose women as customers because they were putting their ads on Gamasutra.
2. Why are Black females targets of regulations regarding their hair and hairstyles? Is this fair? Why or why not?
Black females are targets of regulations regarding their hair and hairstyles because they have different hair than white people do. Their hair is harder to manage most of the time, so they need different hairstyles to be able to manage it. Being in the U.S. Army they would have to keep their hair out of the way anyway, so what is so wrong with them putting it into cornrows, locs, braids, or twists? According to Lee, “Retired Sergeant Jasmine Jacobs of the Georgia National Guard, who started a petition on the WhiteHouse.gov website asking the U.S. Army to reconsider its regulation of ethnic hairstyles, stated twists are a popular style for Black female soldiers because they are easy to care for when in the field” (94). In other words, twists were an easy way for Black female soldiers to keep their hair out of their way. Lee also explains, “An army veteran, using the alias ‘Tonya,’ stated that in her experience most Black women in the military wear their hair natural and therefore wear cornrows, locs and twists because they often do not have the tools needed to straighten their hair when deployed” (94). So, it is unfair for the U.S. Army to expect Black females to straighten their hair or stray away from putting their hair in braids or cornrows because they may not have the tools to keep their hair the way the U.S. Army wants them to keep it.
3. Why did afro hairstyles become associated with criminality and anti-American identities? Is this still seen today?
People with afro hairstyles have been deemed as either criminal or anti-American beginning with a few times that this has been true. Lee states, “Angela Davis, who was deemed one of the country’s ten most wanted criminals in the 1970s. Throughout this time media outlets used a photo of Davis with an Afro; this photo was used to construe a violent, anti-American, and Black militant identity for Davis” (94). So, because one person with an afro was a criminal, people and media outlets deemed a lot of people with afros as criminals. Lee also explains, “Audre Lorde who, in the 1970s, was not allowed to, cross borders, pass immigration in Tortola, British Virgin Islands (BVI), because of her loc’d hairstyle…loc’d hair was tied to notions of criminality and a particular brand of religion” (95). So, again, the way she had her hair deemed her as a criminal even though she showed no reason to draw suspicion to her. This is still present today with people looking at a person’s skin, hair, and body type to determine if they should be surveilled or not, which is so terrible because that is judging a book by its cover. People don’t look at the persons personality or body language to determine if they should be watched, they look at what the person looks like.
4. Why is the internet a “social leveler”?
The internet is a “social leveler” because not many people talk about race or ethnicity. According to McLaine, “Nakamura (1999) dismisses the utopian notion of the internet as a “social leveler,” considering that its neutrality is only valid because issues of race and ethnicity are avoided, rather than accepted…The anonymity of the internet can work both ways. True, no one can see what color I am, but no one has to see what color I am. Therefore, the touchy subject of race can be brushed under the mousepad” (235). People want to show their race on the internet, but they also do not because then the issue of race and ethnicity may be brought up. People simply just ignore the issues of race and ethnicity online, which has in turn resulted in the “digital divide” (235). So, yes, the internet is “a social leveler,” but it shouldn’t be. People should want to bring out the issues of race and ethnicity on the internet because they need to be addressed.

Gamer AU Clip II
“J-Ja-Jaune?” Hearing my sisters voice tremble, it hurt, it hurt so bad. Taking a bullet had hurt less. The fact I was the cause of her distress burned my soul.
“How, how, how, how, could you do that?” Her voice so weak like her throat refused to cooperate with her brain, like she couldn’t understand what she was seeing. She shouldn’t have to see me doing what I do to keep our shrinking family together, but she did... and there was no backing down from what I had done.
“Sarah, I need you do something for me,” My voice came out calm, I didn’t think I was capable of speaking so, so, what’s a good word for it?
Lifeless.
Like my throat was being puppeteered by some unseen force.
But, that unseen force was also me. I was a puppet to my own desires. My master was my own crippling need for love, love and family.
She flinched, it was unsurprising but it drove that stake of burning pain so much deeper.
“Take one deep breath, hold it for five second and then let it out over another. Would you please do this for me?”
She froze briefly, her eyes darting around for escape, I could see her chest rapidly contracting. She wasn’t listening.
The look in her eyes told me all I needed to know.
She thought I was a monster now... She know’s I am a monster.
She’s right.
A part of my heart disappeared, and my mind acted before my heart did.
“Sarah,” My voice was being puppeteered again, It was so cold, and hard to my own ears, it shouldn’t sound like that. It scared me. “Take a deep breath or you’ll fall down like Mr. Ermine did.”
“B-bu, but you killed him!”
I shook my head with a mournful frown.
“No! He fell down, he was coming at me! And then he tripped, honest!” My mind puppeteering my face, the slightest tears began to form at my eyes. “I didn’t mean to have the knife out, honest! You gotta believe me, sis, please!” It was all an act by the that dark little voice in my head, I could take back the wheel at anytime... But, I wasn’t the one who could lie to my family.
“But Mr. Ermine, he just wanted to help us, why would he try to act you.”
The dark voice in my head could only smile in glee, he had hooks in her mind. “He, he,” It made me tear up even more so to sell the story. “He knew about mom and dad, he wanted something to keep silent...” My sister didn’t seem like she could believe me, not with the blood on my hands.
Good, it made the part of me not behind the wheel smile that my sister could see through my facade. The dark voice only smiled deeper though, it spoke to me, told me the story had only just begun.
“Sniff, sniff,” It made me fake holding back tears, “He wanted to hurt you, and, and I wanted him to leave us alone!” I screamed out, it’s fine I want to be heard, we’re alone at home anyway.
“He said, ‘I always wanted to have my own blonde dolls, to play, and dress up.’ unngh,” I fell to my knees, letting tears fall from my eyes. “I told him to leave us alone, and he came over to grab me.” I looked Sarah in the eyes, I could see her tears beginning to spill. “His hands, they, they hurt so much Sarah, why would bring him here!” I covered my head with head arms, and the breakdown came.
My eyes stung with burning tears. Not a damn one real.
“Stop, stop, please just stop, Jaune, I’m sorry Jaune, I’m so sorry.” I felt my sisters arm around me and pull me into a warm hug. And I let myself breakdown in her arms.
A breath of relief came through the tears, and eventually the tears stopped.
Relief that my story sold and stuck. That I had lied and gaslit my sister. I wanted to puke from shame.
I took back control and put that little voice back in the passenger seat in case I needed him.
I squeezed my sister tight now that she couldn’t go anywhere. Tighter, and tigher, she squirmed, I put my face beneath her ear and whispered so sadly. “I’m sorry Sarah,”
“What?”
Reach up and grabbed her face, looking her in those beautiful green eyes of hers.
I leaned back and whipped my head forward.
SNAP
Her nose broke, bleeding freely.
She was out cold, likely with a concussion.
I took Ermine’s dead hand and made a fist from it, rigor mortis hadn’t set in yet.
I got to work making it look like an attack, from a teacher who went crazy from obsession.
A smile came to my face. Which he was, he had wanted to break up my little family, take Sarah from me and make her his perfect little wife.
If it wouldn’t have contaminated the scene I would have broken his body into little bits. My strength was more than high enough.
The bastard.
My family needs me. Poor little Jasmine wasn’t even potty trained yet, and that bastard say’s she need real parents, not some brat playing pretend.
Well, where are my damned parents when I need them!
Fuck ‘em I say.
Jasmine my baby sister, and for all-intents and purposes now, my daughter.
Mary sweet little Mary, I will protect you to the end.
Sarah my genius little sister. I will make sure to solve the problems you can’t

I took a deep breath, and reviewed my plan, then put it into action.
Staging the scene of the crime.
It hurt breaking my arm, and giving myself so many bruises.
That pain didn’t compare to the pain from having to hurt poor Sarah.
But, it was necessary.
Once it was all done, I made sure to crawl across the floor to where I flung my scroll.
I let the passenger take the wheel, as I called the police.

new month update/ramble
i’m sorry to say this, but some weirdos are going around saying it’s july?? obviously that’s impossible, we haven’t even had may yet. sadly another example of how fake news can spread quickly on social media. :c
no but the year is half over, cool cool cool. I remember last year being *delighted* that 2019 was coming to an end, but as bad as this year has been so far, I don’t think I’ll feel like that this time around … because I was actually optimistic for 2020 (fool! idiot!!). but maybe the second half of the year will surprise me! (in a good way, i mean, as opposed to the terrifying near-daily ‘surprises’ 2020 has been delivering so far.)
though, speaking of good surprises, phil’s video!! what a sweetheart he is. i admit when i got the notif i was a bit *internal terror* but i guess that’s just how i’ve been conditioned these days. i bought the print - i love the border! i put a holographic border around the pic of phil from vidcon last year, so it’ll be a nice match. i’m going to put it over the tv, i think - maybe if i look at it enough, one day i might start to believe it. i certainly don’t right now.
i need a second hand now to count the number of times they’ve insisted in the last year that the future is bright and hopeful and - quite aside from the virus, though that obviously hasn’t helped - that hasn’t been the case for me. it must be for them, though, so, that’s good, at least, i guess. (i would like to see it.)
I definitely wanted to hug Phil afterwards, and was glad I at least had the memory of doing so to fall back on. (…though. I always kind of don’t like talking about it a little bit? Because I feel bad for those who would love to meet him but haven’t had the chance, or had it and it got ripped away *again*, thanks miss rona. Feels like rubbing it in. I know it hurts *me* to see people’s old M&G pics and vids everywhere on twitter, but I am an Oversensitive and Jealous Fool as we know. It does feel like I missed/lost the only chances I might have had to meet Dan, too, especially now he seems to have retired from internet/youtuber life. So seeing the pics of people hugging him, it hurts man. So I’ve been a bit reticent to post my own with phil; it was my profile pic for a while on twitter but I took it off. I dunno. Probably just me being an idiot. I printed it and put it above my desk instead)
Back in 2019 I ordered a gay corgi pin and stickers for Phil - to give to him at Vidcon - but by the time they were due to ship out they got delayed due to the rona, and didn’t end up arriving until 2 weeks after the event. I hope I can give them to him one day; I feel like he’ll still do appearances once this is all over, so here’s hoping.
At the beginning of June I started using an app called moodpath as a mood tracker; sort of out of vague interest really, but it’s actually been really useful. It generates a result for you every 2 weeks, and it generated likely ‘severe depressive episode’ for the first 2 weeks of june and ‘moderate depressive episode’ for the second 2. (Progress? yay?) It’s interesting though; it generates stats and even generates a letter for you to give to a doctor or therapist as a jumping off point if you might find that helpful. Eh, it’s just an app, not a professional, but I thought it was interesting. (Also, yeah, the first half of June fully sucked)
youtube was a bit of a rollercoaster yesterday lmao. started off with finishing up the last of us 2 (no spoilers, I loved it; I kept waiting for the moment that seemingly had gamers in a frothing rage and it never came, so i assume it was simply the presence of gay and trans people), then i started watching tati’s vid, then phil’s went up, then back to tati’s. Re dramageddon 2 … I - don’t really have any investment in any of these people - the only vids of any of theirs I’ve ever watched was shane’s series on tanacon when I wanted to know what that was all about. It’s kind of like watching a soap opera, except that obviously real people have been affected… who knows how it’ll go down this time, they all walked away with their careers intact last time and i suspect, for J* at least, any publicity is still publicity, so. *shrug*
animal crossing is still great, always fun when it’s a new month. i’ll miss my pride month decorations. maybe i’ll put a permanent rainbow flower patch somewhere. i hope we get an update on pickle island some time, even as i have a sneaking suspicion it might be an abandoned wasteland. who knows, maybe it’s a thriving metropolis and that’s why phil was so quiet in june.
anyway. whenever i find myself particularly struggling i often come back to playing mass effect, and i started doing that again yesterday, so yeah. decided to give myself a break over feeling guilty about not writing or whatever - the ideas will come when they come, or they won’t, and I can’t force the issue. so i might as well enjoy doing something else.

For my birthday, my little sis’ said she would make a digital pic for me!
Bottom right is what i started planning it out with, and it morphed into what it is now! It was a mashup of lots of my fav characters. Still a WIP, but she’s the best!

Origin: This guy’s name is Criss, as in Criss-Cross. He’s technically a Ben 10 alien, but forms by pulling the essence/soul of various characters from other universes. Probably was originally a result of some universe-ending problem that was Ben’s fault to begin with (dimensional surge?). They’re pretty stable now.
Looks/Pieces: Main body is Genos’ machine body (OPM). He has Astro’s red boot-feet so he can actually fly (Astro Boy). Hair is a combo of Killua's and Deku’s, plus Edward’s braid (HxH, bnha, FMA). Right eye is Sebastian’s red demon eye; left eye is Rin’s blue one (Black Butler, Blue Exorcist). He’s wearing Danny’s white/red shirt with the wings of freedom and Eren’s jacket (DP, AoT). Those are Deku’s pants and belt. Hard to see are Ladybug’s and Chat’s miraculous ring and earrings (Miraculous Ladybug). He also has Rex’s goggles (Generator Rex). Obviously, Ben’s Omnitrix is on his wrist (Ben 10).
(not pictured) Mach 5 car with Voltron symbol. It acts kind of like a Voltron lion/Bumblebee fusion plus gadgets. This car is actually an overlay of Kevin’s car. The first time Criss waves his hand over Kev’s car and wills it into being, Kevin is horrified.
(not pictured) inside the Miraculous is a Kwami mixture of yin/yang.
Personality: He’s a flirtatious dork with a strong sense of justice and a knack for being a jerk sometimes. He can be REALLY scary when he wants/needs to be (’cause of Sebastian, Killua, and Eren) but it’s rare. He’s impulsive most of the time but is a thorough thinker under pressure. He’s got a bit of MPD because there are literally 13 people inside of his head. They all speak out of the same mouth, so he sounds insane 90% of the time, but they sync together in stressful situations. Criss tends to overthink in stressful situations, so Gwen and Kevin are there to ground him.

Has perks like: KILLING INTENT via Killua and RIGHTEOUS ANGER via Eren. Plus: an extra bonus of SADISM courtesy of Sebastian
Criss is a complete idiot most of the time, but in the middle of battle, he’ll just start talking about theoretical physics and trigonometry. Gwen doesn’t really know how to deal with him. (2)
They’ve got an. odd. collection of knowledge.
“How are we supposed to know what human beings are made of?”
“What, like it’s hard?”
He’s got like, a surprising amount of common sense considering all of the doofuses that make him up. Marinette helps w/that a lot.
Extra Perk: He is the ULTIMATE negotiator.
Adrien knows how to work the business man/fashion scene. The boy has got a walk.
Sebastian is awesome at the intimidation factor, but Deku makes him seem really trustworthy.
Ben, Rex, and Rin keep him low key and #relatable.
Marinette is the only one of them who has any kind of emotional maturity. She good at reading people too. The only reason any of this works. Keeps them on task for almost everything.
Merging: Criss is a mesh of essences and memories, but all inside are aware of what is going on. When in separated by ‘verses, they have almost an empathic/telepathic link where they can sometimes send pulses/images down the link. Every once in a while, one of them can ‘pull’ on the essence of someone else to help them. However:
In order to fully merge, all of them of must agree, but it’s usually not a big deal; it’s pieces of the characters’ souls that are transferred, not their bodies. It doesn’t really affect what they are doing atm unless it’s super complicated.
Weaknesses:
The Ultimate Klutz, unfortunately. Sorry Mari. Very ADHD and seems to have a pretty severe MPD, for obvious reasons. Kind of off-putting as a person. Extremely draining form when in combat, Ben will sleep for days afterwards.
Powers:
Obviously, Criss has got Super-strength from multiple people and exceptional sneak ability and balance (most of the time).
Danny:

- can briefly become intangible but not invisible

- Marinette’s stubbornness overrules all, and she can take control of Criss completely when they’re being really annoying. Sebastian occasionally assists. The two of them have the ability to literally shove everyone back to their home dimension, leaving behind an intimidating, girly version of Ben with red eyes. Ben’s still there but he’s been silenced by fear.
Edward:
- can do alchemy
“Wait, we can do magic?”
“No.”
Rin:
- He can COOK! It’s actually really good, and Gwen is pretty tempted to keep him as Criss.
Kevin: “Since when can you cook Ben?”
Criss: “I am a man of many talents.”
Also Criss, immediately after: “They’re my talents, Kitchen Failure.”

Chat:

HILARITY to be found in this ‘verse:
a. Someone asks his opinion on something and he literally just freezes from indecisiveness.
b. He’s like half a foot taller than Kevin, and Kevin is pissed.
Kevin thinks Criss is way cooler than Ben tho’ so it’s cool.
c. On one instance, one of the guys has been forced/dared into wearing something hideously embarrassing in his home ‘verse. Cue him being horrified as he’s pulled into Criss in a time of crisis, thinking it will transfer with him. Turns out that their shared body is more made up of their mental images than anything.
“Why’d you seem so worried when you showed up?”
*sends mental image*
*muffled snickers and exclamations and an overall sigh of relief*
d. (1) It’s a thing with him, like his war cry.
“I have the power of God and anime on my side” - said in the midst of battle
Gwen and Kevin. Need It To Stop.

Sebastian hates it. Therefore, when ever Criss yells it, he rolls his eyes at himself. It’s a little bit hilarious.
e. A lot of them are SUPER excited at the idea of aliens. Some; not so much.
“A-Aliens?!”
“I thought they were EVOs, but clearly they’re from outer space.”
“Cool!”
“Eh, I’ve dealt with worse.”
f. Sporadic cursing via Edward. and fake cursing via Danny
“You frigging fruit loop!”
“What?”
g. Randomly, one of them will just give a full-body shiver and say “Oh, this is disgusting.”
h. (2) Criss actually has a modicum of common sense, so Kevin is really impressed at first.
“Wow, it’s almost like you’re a real, rounded person!”
*Eren screams*
“Never mind.”

Some Behind-the-times Surfer Dude: “So, like, are you a boy or a girl?”

Criss: “Yes and I hate it.”
L. Criss can and will have conversations/arguments with himself out loud for hours on end. They can be about anything. Literally. Anything.

Manga the Week of 4/7/21
SEAN: April! Maple! Let’s do the list backwards this time!
This means starting with Yen Press, who have precisely one manga out, but it is a debut. Please Put Them On, Takamine-san! (Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san) is a bizarre high school comedy with SF elements, about a girl who can redo her past actions to achieve the best result… but only by taking off her underwear. This runs in Gangan Joker, and is by the author of the delightfully titled Is a Zombie Bitch Considered a Bitch?, which thankfully is not licensed.

SEAN: The other debut… at long last… is Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense (Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu), the light novel that inspired the popular anime. Kaede is ready to play the new game her friend recommends… but has no real gaming experience, and also it’s a VR game, meaning she could feel pain! As such, she sinks ALL her points into defense. Playing as “Maple” (a pun on her name), she rapidly gets ludicrously overpowered in the most adorable way possible. I suspect these books will be a bit more gamer-talk than I’d really like, but… Maple.

SEAN: No debuts for Viz, just some heavy hitters.
