Masterlist
Today was supposed to be a normal BBQ like your family had had so often in this warm summer months but ever since your father invited his collegue over to join something changed. Ever since you met Natasha Romanoff about 3 months back you couldn't stop thinking about her. She might have been old enough to be your mother and a friend of your father but you couldn't denie the fact that you were attracted to her like flies to the light. She was a true charmer excatly knowing what to say and to do. You never felt uncomfortable around her even though she blatanly flited with you. Her touch somehow always lingering on your skin when the two of you were alone. It was only a matter of time until you ended in Natashas bed legs widely spread as she savoured your taste. So the time flew sneaking around your parents watch as you kept your illicent affair hidden falling head over heals for the older woman. Today was one of those days where Nat came over to your parents place and just couldn't keep her hands of you.
Like always Natashas steps were light on the cold tiles of the french villa your family owned. Sometimes you thought she was an actual spy. You didn't hear her standing in the kitchen in skimpy clothing preparing something for dinner as you mindlessly hummed along whatever Taylor Swift song was currently on the radio. "What are you doing bunny" She sneaked up behind you pressing her front into your back her crotch againt the swell of your ass. "Just doin' a salad you know" She humped checking out the area to see if your parents were around before doing anything further. Her hands came up to your hips pulling your behind harder against her crotch. "Natty please" you whined as she smirked pressing her nose against your neck smelling the expensive perfume she had gotten you. "We can't not here" your breathing was heavy uneven "What if my parents see?"
"They're in the garden trust me bunny" She whispered her strong hands trialling up your sides to your chest. Even though your body was betraying you leaning into her touch seemingly begging for more you couldn't give in just yet. You wanted to show her how you infact could be stronger than your most animalistic thoughts. "Natasha not now" she groaned into her hear making you feel the wettnes betwen your owm legs. "Fuck bunny I can't wait to feel your tight little pussy pulsing around me begging me to let you cum. And then after you had your sweet sweet release I'm gonna breed you're dripping with my cum" she whispered into your ear before pushing herself from the counter leaving into the garden. Of course she wouldn't actually get you pregnant you where on the pill and you weren't sure if she was even fertile. It was more of her kink she had explained to you.
The rest of the night you two kept your play up. Acting asif you couldn't care less what the other was doing in front of your parents. Still you couldn't help but admire her beautiful features as she had some boring converstaion with your father about politics or what ever. What really interested you would be the time spend between the sheets with her as she would show you all her passions and desires. After what seemed like hours you finally snuck your way into the guest room. She was spread wide on the comfortable mattress only wearing a wifebeater and her chequered boxers. "There's my bunny eh" she turned her head towards you as you made your way over to the bed swinging your hips . You sat down deside you before turning to kiss you roughly slipping her tongue into your mouth as you shifted to strangle her waist feeling her growing erection as you rolled your hips against her crotch.
"Fuck Bunny" she breathed out as she gripped onto your hips stilling you in place. "let me get you ready first" she whispered flipping you to lay under her as she kissed your neck down reamoving your cami top in the process. She took on nipple in her mouth slightly sucking on it before her big hand started playing with your other nipple rubbing over it. You let out quiet whippers as she switched sides. After what she deemed to be enough attention to your chest she kissed her way down to your panties nibbling on the skin of your hips. She made sure to leave hickeys in her way. You tried your best go keep it quiet but when Nat did her thing it was hard. Natasha kissed your clit through the soaked through panties pulling them down only to revel your sticky heat.
She made a bold lick from the end of your pussy right up your puffy clit swirling her trained tongue around the erected nub. Her scarlet lips attached to your clit sucking on it making you cry out as you tried to close your legs around her head but she kept them spread. She slowly inserted two of her long fingers into your clenching hole as you quietly cried out for mor and more. Natasha moved her fingers roughly and fast not giving you time to adjust. "Fuck your so tight" she groaned pumping her fingers even faster. “Natty ‘m close so close“ You felt your release close enough to grab but then Nat pulled her dripping fingers from your heat leaving you high and dry. “W-What?” You mumbled out opening your eyes again only to see Natasha smirking down at you “I want some fun too honey“ she smirked flipping you to your knees pushing your hips up as you arched your back showing off both your tight holes to her.
You heard her removing her boxers she already was rock hard for you her reddened tip leaking with pre cum as she expertly spits on her shaft spreading the slick over it. She moved closer pushing her tip to you clit enjoying the sight of you bucking your hips desperately trying to find your pleasure. “Ngh Tasha please” you begged making her listen slowly pushing in making you gasp at the feeling of being stretched out like that. She gave you time to quickly adjust before picking up pace fucking you hard and rough as she had a death grip on your hips. You couldn’t care less about the bruises as you pushed your face into the pillow muffling your sounds. With Natasha whimpers and the sound of skin slapping your moans filled the hot summer night air hoping your parents couldn’t hear you.
You kept clenching down on Nat she grabbed onto your shoulders. “Fuck ‘m gonna breed that little pussy ngh… I’m gonna make you so full of my cum“ you whined out before the coil in your stomach snapped and you came hard Natasha following soon releasing her white seed deep inside your whomp. She proceeded to help you through your orgasm even cleaning you up before cuddling you to sleep her arms tightly around your smaller body.

“why do you keep looking at me?” suna peers at you with his celadon eyes, his rings tap against the wheel as he bounces his fingers against the leather.
he's cautious with his words, and maybe a bit curious, too.
“what, i can’t look at my boyfriend?” you look over at him again, probably for the fifth time since you left your apartment parking lot just seven minutes ago.
“is there something on my face?” he quickly runs his hand over his face, peeking at the rare view mirror. and to his surprise, no crumbs. did you maybe leave a lipstick mark when you kissed him before leaving? (komori, to suna’s dismay, has pointed out a mark or two on his cheek as he walked into the gym for morning practices. he always wipes it off with a mumble, but takes a peek in the mirror beforehand to admire your bold proclamation of love).
“you’re just really pretty.”
“oh shut the fuck up," he laughs, and it fills the car, harmonizing with the music from the radio. it brings a smile to your face. it's dark, but you can see that his tongue is poking at his cheek, holding back an equally cheesy smile.
“i’m serious!” you face him again. "your hair looks good today, and you're all clean-shaven." you run the back of your hand against his cheek, humming in satisfaction to emphasize how soft his skin is. "i gotta appreciate this when i can."
he continues to drive, but snakes his hand onto your leg. his rings are cool against you. he squeezes once, then twice. and once again, you're at a red light — it highlights his face beautifully. the rise of his cheekbones accentuate the darkness of his eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair.
and you decide to go for it, reaching across the console to leave a quick kiss on his jaw.
"woah, can't get enough of me today," he taps your thigh a few times. "and i didn't even have to wear that cologne you like."
“mhm. i love you even when you smell like shit.”
he clicks his tongue and takes his hand back, letting you pull at it to place it back on your thigh (he never fights back, knowing you'll only reach for it again and again). you put your hand on top of his, rubbing your thumb along his skin.
“if you’re trying to tell me something, i don’t think you wanna do anything risky while we’re on the way to dinner with my parents.” suna peers down at his hand on your thigh and your hand that's keeping it captive there.
“i’m not trying to do anything, rin.”
“whatever you say,” he moves his hand back and forth. it's a comforting motion, really, but for some reason, you feel nervousness stir in your stomach. or perhaps, butterflies.
“i’m not! i’m just really excited to see your family again,” you rub your finger along the ring on his pointer finger.
“i think they love you more than they love me.”
“probably.”
“oh, should i tell them how you tried to make a move on their sweet and innocent son just 10 minutes before seeing them?”
“where’d you get 'sweet and innocent' from? weren’t you the one who wanted to ‘head to the back’ after atsumu’s party?”
and now, he's fully smiling. you hear an airy laugh escape from him. you love this rin — the one that laughs at his past, corny self. the one that lets you know he's listening even when his eyes are on the road. the one that is so unabashedly in love with you that he could never deny anything you want from him.
“you were the one who kept looking at me with those… eyes.”
“i wasn’t! you’re just so full of yourself that you think me looking at you is the same as checking you out.”
as the song transitions into the next, there's a pause, and the car is enveloped in silence.
he breaks it.
“so, what’s it like when you’re checking me out?”
“i’m not doing this.”
“no, baby, i just wanna see. check me out." this time, at the light, he faces you. has he always looked at you like this? with his lips slightly quirked upwards? a teasing smile — expectant and knowing.
you look him straight in his eyes and then to his lips before looking back at his eyes. your eyes follow his features naturally — his eyes show that he's calm, but his smile shows that he's in awe of what you do to him.
you can't help but to laugh at his reddening ears. you reach for the cartilage and coo at him for getting all flustered. if there's something the both of you are good at, it's flustering each other endlessly, even two and a half years into the relationship.
“damn, you’re good,” he takes your hand away from his ear and kisses the back of it before trailing a few up your wrist and arm all while keeping his eyes on the road.
moments like this with suna aren't hard to come by — he's always done his best to make you feel loved (and to annoy you to the point where you question his meaning of love). and all you can hope for, really, is that it'll stay like this forever — that even when you're older and greying, he'll ask you to give him "those eyes".
and if you knew what was encased in the velvet box in his pocket, and what else was planned for this family dinner, you'd have no doubt in your mind that he hopes for the same.
before stepping out of the car, suna pulls you in for a kiss. it catches you off guard, but you relax into it.
"i'm pretty sure your dad's car is parked next to us," you mumble as he pulls away. his eyes fall back to your lips.
"so what? he doesn't know what a kiss is? how do you think i was made?"
"oh my god," you swat his chest. "let's go."
before he can open the door, his name leaves your lips.
"by the way, you have a little something right there," you point at the lipstick stain on his jaw.

Part 1
Alastor X Shy Reader
Warnings ⚠
⚠ selectively mute reader, food mentions-seaweed, song lyrics Drift Away-Trillian ⚠
Tumblr media
Alastor took the mer up to their hotel room, the halls empty as he made another water pun, which earned him a fin slap to the face.
"I could drop you, you know?", he said but continued to carry them towards the bathtub.
Setting them down gently, he made sure to get a towel and put it somewhere within reach for them to take when their legs returned.
"There you are dear!", he said before standing up straight. "I'll leave you here now. Don't try to get up too soon, you'll just flop right over!", he laughed and turned to leave.
"Wait.", they spoke softly.
Like an exciting rush, he felt chills run down his back as his body followed the command.
"Don't tell anyone about what you saw..", they paused. "Or what you heard from me. Please."
As soon as they were finished, the 'spell' had broken and he was able to move again. Glancing over his shoulder, the Radio Demon snapped his fingers and his coat was clear of the water spots they had left on him.
"Very well.", he said and began closing the bathroom door. "This will stay our little secret~", he placed a finger over his lips before shutting the door.
He stood there for a moment, hearing the mer let out a sigh before the water turned on.
Satisfied with his findings, the deer demon left their hotel room, making sure to lock the door before closing it.
As he made his way to his radio tower, he thought of ways to get the aquatic demon to sing around him.
I should ease their worries somehow.. He thought. I wonder if there is a way to lure a siren.
.
You hated the transition of your legs returning.
Every time, you felt like your tail was being torn apart. Your scales felt like needles piercing into you when they sunk back into your skin. The webbing on your fingers was the only thing that didn't hurt much, but your hands would cramp a few times the day after.
This is annoying. You thought as you dried yourself completely after taking a bath.
Next was the hard part.
Grabbing the edge of the tub, you slowly stood up. Your feet feeling like you walked many miles without rest, aching as you stepped onto the tile floor.
It hurt.
Step by step, it felt like you were walking on glass, thorns, or hot coal as you made your way into your room to get dressed.
As soon as you could, you dropped onto your bed with a whine, staying there for a moment before crawling under the covers. After turning off the lamp on the nightstand, you hoped that the red dressed demon wouldn't say anything of what he saw.
Yes, you told him a command but the other half was a plea.
Let's not worry about it. He did say it would be our secret. You thought before going to sleep.
The next day was a little odd.
After getting breakfast, the smiling demon began talking to you like you were old friends.
It confused you.
What did he have to gain from talking to a quiet person? There was nothing you could say without hypnotizing him.
.
It was simple.
All he had to do was get them used to him and they'd be comfortable enough to let their guard down.
What better way to do it other than talking?
Food.
Throughout a few weeks, the Radio Demon experimented with all kinds of food. Taking notice of their expressions and the amount of food that they left on their plate. Later, he noticed that they enjoyed snacking on seaweed.
He wasn't sure where they had got it from, but it was something that he made sure was kept stocked in the kitchen and at the bar.
"The fuck? Why seaweed?", Husker grumbled.
"One of our guests enjoys it and the Princess ordered a surplus of the snack.", Alastor said as he watched the cat demon put the box under the bar counter.
Of course, it didn't really work out like he wanted. They were still quiet, still just out of reach, wary of him and his every action.
So he tried a different tactic.
Continuing to talk to them in open spaces but once they left, he hid in the shadows and observed them.
And then it happened.
It was exactly what he was waiting for.
Though he was hiding within the shadows of a dark theater room, he still was able to catch them, to listen to them sing.
Dark brown wood and red velvet from the room had made the area darker than it really was, but they still managed to find a ledge to sit on. They started off with soft hums before a real note came out from their lips.
"Here in the garden
Let's play a game
I'll show you how it's done
Here in the garden
Stand very still
This will be so much fun"
Like before, he felt the pull in his chest, the daze their voice submerged his mind into.
"And then she smiled
That's what I'm after
A smile in her eyes
The sound of her laughter
Happy to listen
Happy to play
Happily watching her drift away"
His shadows held him back from crawling out of the darkness. Something he was quite grateful for as he didn't want to disturb their singing.
"You keep on turning pages, for people who don't care
People who don't care about you
And still it takes you ages, to see that no one's there
See that no one's there
See that no one's there
Everyone's gone on with out you.."
Such a peculiar thing. To feel what they felt through their song, waves of sadness brushing against his mind.
"And aren't I the fool to have
Happily listened
Happy to stay
Happy to watch her drift
Drift
Drift...away."
They finished their song and sighed, wearing a frown.
Something Alastor couldn't just stand by for.
"You have such a lovely voice.", the deer demon spoke up.
They let out a noise of surprise and stood quickly , looking around the room like a frightened animal.
"It's a shame you hide it.", he continued.
He could hear how quick their breathing became as they backed away towards the nearest exit. Before the mer could touch the door, the Radio Demon came out of the shadows behind them and took their wrist.
They gasped and froze, not daring to look at him as he held them close.
Now is his grasp, he hummed in content and put a finger under their chin, lifting it up so they could look him in the eye.
His smile grew wider once they made eye contact.
"Let's make a deal~"

Part 1
Silently, they swap seats. It feels ridiculous, how perfectly the whole exchange goes, how no-one else stirs, how the RV glides smoothly with Eddie's hands on the wheel.
“What about, uh, the walkman?” he asks, tries to sound matter-of-fact. Time for a new plan, time to think.
“No,” Steve says. There's a finality to his tone. “Max should keep it.”
Eddie exhales. “Okay, okay. There's—here, there's a radio.” He doesn't mention the fact that he's closer; knows that his hand would shake if he tried to reach for it. “Be great if you'd develop an emotional attachment to, like, all of the Top 40 right now, Harrington.”
There's a soft sound that might almost be a laugh. Eddie listens to Steve quietly moving around then returning to his seat, hears the static of the radio being turned on—volume low, as if Steve doesn't want to wake anyone up. The thoughtfulness, even now, makes something in Eddie's chest hurt.
But there's nothing, not even a whisper of a song, and then even the static stops. Steve has turned the radio off.
One second.
“No signal,” Steve says, and even though he's not looking at him, Eddie knows he's shrugging again, like it is what it is.
The panic Eddie had briefly kept at bay while trying to strategize comes flooding back. “Jesus Christ, this—this can't be happening.” There's another long pause, and Eddie inhales shakily, remembers how he hadn't noticed when Chrissy fell silent. “Hey, man, you've gotta—keep talking to me, okay, or I'm gonna lose it.” Let me know you're still here. Please.
“Sorry,” Steve says. “Talking. Um.”
“Um,” Eddie parrots. “Wow. Didn't finishing school teach you conversation skills?”
Steve laughs again—hushed but real. “Fuck off.” He sighs, then says, “God, this might be a weird thing to say—”
“Colour me intrigued.”
“—but I'm so relieved, dude, you have no idea.”
“You're right. That's an extremely fucking weird thing to say.”
“I didn't want it to be Max,” Steve says, so heartfelt that Eddie tightens his grip on the wheel. “Didn't want it to be... anyone, you know? It's—yeah, it's better like this.”
“‘Better’ is a strong word for it.”
“Mm. Like, come on, what's the worst he could have in store for me? The summer our AC broke, that was pretty rough—”
“Don't,” Eddie says sharply, and all at once the joking tone they'd built up evaporates. “Don't do that.”
“Do what?”
“Don't...” Eddie swallows. Recalls when he'd cut through the gym to get to Drama Club, how he'd glance over at Cheer Practice and think, They've all got it made, haven't they? Shiny fucking picture-perfect lives. “Don't bullshit me, all right?”
“...Okay.”
Eddie scoffs weakly, tries to regain the banter they were sharing. “Hey, if you can't be honest now, when can you?”
“Sure, that's—that's fair.” Steve shifts in his seat. “I was talking to Max, about the... when it happened to her. And she said she thought of happy memories, so. Got an idea of what to expect, at least.”
“Cool,” Eddie says, the mild tone only barely covering his anxiety. “Know what you're thinking about, then?”
“Yeah,” Steve replies. He's smiling; Eddie can hear it. “Got a few things in mind.”
“Good, that's... that's good.”
The road is getting more familiar: it won't be long until they're nearing the Welcome to Hawkins sign.
“Kinda impressed with you, Munson. Was expecting you to drive like a bat out of hell.”
“Ha, ha. Special occasion, and all—”
A pained gasp cuts through the air, and Eddie's stomach lurches. “Shit, shit, Steve—”
“I'm fine,” Steve says quickly, “I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine.”
“Tell me the fucking truth. Please.”
“It's just my head. Hurts a bit. Not a big deal, I've had worse.”
From the clipped way Steve is speaking, Eddie knows it's more painful than he's letting on.
He slows and brakes at a stop light before taking the chance to, finally, look over.
Steve is staring straight ahead, eyes in focus, and Eddie suppresses a sigh of relief at the sight. But then he sees how Steve's jaw is clenched.
“How's the clock?” he says cautiously. Prays for a miracle.
“Still there. It's closer. And, um...” Steve's mouth opens, closes, opens again. “I'm guessing the black widows on the dashboard aren’t actually...?”
God, he says it so easily. Eddie can't comprehend the bravery of it. “No, there’s nothing there,” he says.
“S'okay,” Steve says, “I'll just look at you.”
“I've been told I'm a sight for sore eyes,” Eddie says dryly.
“Oh, I’d believe that,” Steve returns, somehow both matching Eddie’s tone and sounding completely sincere. He turns to Eddie and smiles. “Hey.”
“Hey.”
“This bit really isn’t so bad, Eddie,” Steve says gently. “Just some spooky pictures, really. That’s kids’ stuff. And you’re—you’re good company.” The light changes. Eddie looks away with reluctance, starts up the engine again. “I try my best,” he says lightly, and wonders how someone can be so close to… to… (he can’t say it; he won’t say it). So close to that, and still smile about it.
You’re incredible, Steve Harrington.
“Home sweet home,” Eddie murmurs as they pass the Welcome sign. “Hey, we made pretty good time, too.”
“I didn’t mean to be late,” Steve says nonsensically.
“What the—?”
“I didn’t, Dad, I didn’t. I’m not lying.”
There’s ice in Eddie’s veins. “No, no, no, stop—stay with me Steve,” he says, which is so fucking stupid, what, did he think he could solve this through sheer force of will? No matter how many times he begged, Chrissy never woke up.
But then Steve gasps, and it sounds like he did at Lover’s Lake, just before he got dragged back under. “Sorry, sorry. I’m still here.”
“Jesus. We’re—we’re here.” “We’re…? Right, yeah.” A deep breath. “Okay. New plan. My place first,” Steve says firmly. “We'll drop the kids off.” There's an unshakable resolve in his voice.
Eddie takes the next turning, doesn’t even enjoy the double take that Steve does at that, the fact that Eddie already knows his address. When he glances over, he sees beads of sweat on Steve’s face. Eddie speeds up.
Please, please. Just hold on.

I Wanna Be In Love
Tumblr media
Summary: Soulmates were overrated. They added nothing to the world besides seeing color which wasn't important to Yelena but every time she sees her family with their soul mates she can't help but feel jealous. A little trip to a small town to clear her head, she wasn't expecting to see the world in color.
Warning: soulmate AU, fluff, violence, gun shots, mention of past abuse, mention of killing, cult, injuries, blood, kidnapping?
Word Count: 6.2k
Soulmates were overrated. Yelena was too busy to find her soulmate. They were distractions, and she didn’t need to see color for her job. She didn’t care that she couldn’t see the color of Fanny’s fur or the flowers in Melina’s garden. It didn’t bother her that she had to watch everyone around her interact with their soulmate and see the world in color. She was fine. Those were the thoughts that Yelena kept running through her mind. Every. Single. Day. She crossed paths with many people: Red Room missions, contract work with Valentina, and now her time with the Avengers. Still, her vision remained in black and white. “Are you okay?” Kate asked, sitting down next to her. Yelena was sipping coffee, watching her sister and Maria in the kitchen. Maria was cooking a simple meal for lunch, and it smelt amazing. It would have been done by now, but Natasha kept distracting her. She wrapped her arms around the brunette’s waist or spun her around to kiss her. It was gross. It’s cute but gross.
“I’m fine,” The archer chuckled.
“Yeah, sure, because you look like you’re going to murder your sister,” Yelena sighed, staring into the coffee. “Do you want advice or for me to leave you alone?” The blonde shrugged. Even Kate found her soulmate, a girl she met in college. She was nice. Yelena liked her.
“I want,” Yelena paused, struggling to find the words. Her sister’s laughter caught her attention. This time, Maria had her arms around the redhead, tickling at her sides. A deep ache filled Yelena, a tightness in her chest. “To be in love.” She admitted. Yelena grabbed her coffee and left the archer to get a word out.
*
Yelena needed to go for a drive. So she packed a few things in her truck for her and Fanny and left the compound. She told her sister and Kate that she needed a small break from missions. They knew an underlying reason for her leaving, but they didn’t question it. Yelena drove with the radio softly on, her best friend in the passenger seat, and no destination in mind. She tried to date, ignoring the soulmate and forcing a relationship to work, but they never did. There was no spark, no flip in her stomach, and her heart didn’t skip. So the relationship ended, and Yelena was left with the constant wonder of what it would feel like to be in love. She wanted the daydreams, jealousy, and all the little things that came with yearning. She wanted the warmth to flood her head.
Her Bluetooth ringing cut through the song she was listening to and her racing thoughts. It was Natasha. With a sigh, she answered the call. “The world better be on fire right now.”
“Ha, ha, ha, very funny,” Yelena rolled her eyes, offering Fanny some pets as she got excited from hearing Natasha’s voice. “The world is above to be covered in ice and snow,” Yelena frowned. “There is a winter storm warning. You picked a horrible time to go on a self-reflection journey.” The blonde looked at the sky. It was cloudy, and she did notice the temperature dropping. “Where are you?”
“No idea,” she shrugged.
“Sestra…” Natasha sighed.
“I just passed an existing sign for a small town,” the blonde said. “I’ll stop there and wait out the weather.” Yelena could see the tension leaving her sister’s shoulders.
“Okay, text me when you get somewhere safe.” The two Black Widow sisters said their goodbyes, and Yelena sighed when the call ended. This was not part of her plan.
*
The town of Chester was the spitting image of one of those towns in the cheesy Christmas movies Kate forced her to watch. A mountain that was blanked with snow set the background. The buildings were brick, and a bell tower was at the center of the town. It was cute - peaceful even. A little too friendly as Yelena got out of her truck and was greeted with a smile or wave from those walking on the sidewalk. She put a leash on Fanny’s collar. The American Akita was great off-leash, but the duo was in a new place, and she wasn’t sure how the town felt about a random dog. She put her backpack on and headed to the hotel. It was a quick Google search to determine if the hotel was pet-friendly. The hotel lobby was warm to the point Yelena unzipped her jacket. It was coming from the fireplace with couches and tables around it. It reminded Yelena of the lob cabin that Tony built. The place felt homey. She walked over to the front desk, holding onto Fanny’s leash tightly.
“What a beautiful dog,” her name tag said Linda. “What’s her name?”
“Uh, Fanny,” Yelena said. She was surprised the older woman didn’t bat an eye at her accent. The Akita sat down. “I was wondering if you have any available rooms.” Linda turned to face her computer.
“How long do you plan on staying?” That was a great question.
“Not sure,” she raised a questioning eyebrow at the blonde. “I needed a break from work.” Fanny tugged at the leash as Linda gave her an understanding smile.
“I understand that, dear. I need a card to put on file, and I’ll get you all checked in.” Another tug from Fanny’s leash. Odd. As Yelena went to pull out her wallet, Fanny tugged again, and the lease left Yelena’s hand.
“Fanny,” she called out to her dog. “I’m so sorry. Give me one second.” Yelena chased after the dog, who was circling a guest. You were holding a few books and laughing as you tried to move around Fanny’s leash. “I’m so sorry. Fanny, prikhodit’ (come).” The dog stopped and sat next to her owner. You giggled, finally looking up at the Black Widow. The air was knocked out of Yelena’s lungs. Color. She was the color of the wooden lobby she was standing in, the color of the books you held, and your shirt. “Purple,” she whispered. “Your shirt is purple, right?” Natasha loved to spend hours describing colors in words that Yelena could understand. You seemed just as stunned. Your mouth kept opening and closing.
“Yeah,” you said, licking your lips. “I mean, that’s what people tell me.” Your eyes locked with hers. “Green,” you whispered. “Your eyes are green.” Yelena knew that. Natasha spent a whole day describing the colors of her eyes. “I’m Y/n,” Yelena whispered your name back.
“Yelena. It’s nice to meet you.”
*
The Black Widow was sure she would pace a hole into the floor while Fanny lay on the bed. She spent 20 minutes staring at her reflection. The green of her eyes. Her blonde hair. The colors of the ringers that laced her fingers. She spent the next 10 minutes scrolling through her photos. She saw the red of her sister’s hair, the blue of Kate’s eyes, and the color of the pigs at Melina’s farm. She saw color, and it was beautiful. She opened the text message chain with Natasha. ‘Found a place to stay,’ ‘All checked in,’ ‘Call me when you can.’ She stared at the messages as the minutes clicked by. Finally, her phone rang, but it wasn’t her sister’s voice. “Hello,” Kate said.
“Where’s Natasha?”
“Yelling at Tony and Steve,” the blonde called, hearing the faint yelling in the background. Yelena sat on the bed. Immediately, Fanny rested her head on her lap. She ran her fingers through her white and brown tinted fur.
“Do I need to come back?”
“Nah, she’s got it covered. So what’s up?” Yelena closed her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“I found her,” she whispered. “I can see color.” The archer was silent on the other end. She wondered if the call dropped, but she did hear rustling on the other end. “Kate Bishop,” Yelena spoke slowly.
“Sorry,” Kate sighed. “Tell us everything.”
*
This was normal. You were outside your newly found soulmates’ room with sweets and a hot chocolate tray. It was normal that you raced home, had a minor panic attack, changed into something cuter, and begged Linda to get Yelena’s room number. Completely normal. Before you lost your nerve, you knocked on the door. You heard movement on the other side, and the door finally opened. Her confused face morphed into a smile. “Hi,”
“Hi,” you said, a little out of breath. Her eyes were memorizing. They were a gorgeous shade of green. You realized you were staring, and your body felt warm from embarrassment. “I don’t know what I’m doing,” you admitted. “But I brought hot chocolate, and maybe we can talk.” Her smile grew.
“Yeah, let me take this for you,” she took the tray from you and held open the door to her room. She set the tray on the table, and you shut the door. Her dog jumped from her spot and ran over to you. You knelt to pet her.
“You are a gorgeous, gorgeous girl,” she rewarded you with a few kisses. You looked at Yelena, who was holding one of the mugs and had a fond smile on her face. “Sorry.”
“Please don’t apologize; it’s cute.” Her statement made you feel even more embarrassed. You stood up, taking the mug she offered. “Do you want to sit here or on the bed, or we can stand,” you giggled. Her cheeks blushed a light pink. “I also have no idea what I’m doing.”
“We can sit here and talk,” you said, sat at the table, and decorated the top of your drink with marshmallows and sprinkles. She sat down next to you, sipping the hot chocolate.
“This is good,” you smiled at her praise. “So tell me about yourself.” You did. You were working at the library while studying to get your degree in environmental science. You’ve lived in Chester for seven years. “Where did you live before this?” You felt your blood turn cold. She was your soulmate, destined to be together or some shit. She would understand, right?
“Uh, Florida,” you sipped on your hot chocolate.
“Florida?” She questioned. “You left the sunshine state for eternal winter.” You giggled.
“Complicated on why I left,” you looked out her window. The snow was coming down harder. “Besides, I love the snow.” Snow meant you weren’t a prisoner. Snow told you escaped. Snow meant freedom.
“Do you need to head out before it gets worse?”
“Kicking me out already?” You teased. Her eyes widened. “I’m kidding. I can leave if you want me to.” She shook her head.
“No, stay, please.”
“Okay,” you smiled. “So why did you choose to study environmental science?” You spent the next few hours learning about one another. It got close to dinner time, so Yelena ordered room service to her room. It was a simple plate of burgers and fries that you tried to help pay for, but she refused your money. It was oddly lovely learning about the Avenger, significantly since you believed you’d never find your soulmate. You spent your entire life trapped on your father’s property, hidden from the world. Until you saved enough money and ran, ran, and ran some more. This small town of Chester welcomed you and didn’t question your mysterious past.
You found yourself laughing at a story Yelena was telling you. “Why did you fill her entire room with rubber ducks?” You asked once your laughter died down. Yelena smiled
“Kate Bishop, Peter Parker, and I are involved in a serious prank war,” she explained. “She died my suits hot pink, so I filled her room with 500 rubber ducks.” You giggled, glancing at the clock. It was almost 10 o’clock.
“I should get going,” you said. “You’ve had a long day of traveling.” Something flashed in her green eyes that you missed, but she smiled.
“Yeah, it’s probably for the best.” You helped her clean up the food and put the extra in her fridge. You gave Fanny extra belly rubs before Yelena walked you to the door. “Here,” she handed you a piece of paper with her number. “I should have given you this when we met,” you giggled, putting it in your pocket, then slipped your jacket on.
“I could have done the same,” you began to play with the ring on your finger. It was a gift from your mother. “There is a diner in town that serves amazing breakfast. Do you want to meet there in the morning?” Her smile grew.
“I’d love to. Text me the name,” you nodded. There was this awkward pass between you and her, unsure of how to end this. “You could stay,” she whispered. “Because of the weather.” She added on quickly. You wanted to. Some of you wanted to know what it felt like to be held in her arms, or would she want you to hold her? You sighed.
“I want to, but I shouldn’t. We should take this slow.” Yelena nodded, slipping her hands in her pockets and looking down at her feet. You gathered up some courage and took a step forward in her space. Gently, you lifted her head and kissed her cheek. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Yeah,” her cheeks were flushed. “Yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow.” You smiled and turned to leave, but her hand grabbed yours, spun you back around, and connected her lips with yours. You tensed up, not expecting her to kiss you. She pulled away. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me. I’ve been thinking about-” You cut her off with a kiss. The feeling of her lips on yours was a feeling you would get addicted to. You moved your hands to cup her cheeks and pulled her closer. Fanny barked, and it startled you apart. Yelena groaned, her head falling onto your shoulder. You chuckled.
“I’ll text you when I’m back safe, okay?” You kissed her one more time before leaving her room. You rested your back on the closed door, touching your fingers to your lips. They tingled as you still felt her lips against yours. Smiling, you left the hotel and walked back to your apartment.
*
‘I’m back. It was amazing getting to know you. See you in the morning.’ Yelena smiled at her phone. “Ooo, it’s that the new boo,” Natasha teased. Yelena groaned, flopping onto her back while on a video call with her sister. “When do we get to meet her?
“I do not know,” Yelena sighed. “She’s lived here for seven years. I can’t force her to leave.” But Yelena was worried about the life you left behind, the life you weren’t discussing. You gave no details - Yelena wasn’t stupid, though. She was a former Red Room assassin, a hired gun, and now an Avenger. She made it this far because she listened to her instincts. You were scared.
“You have your thinking face on,” the blonde rolled her eyes. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” she said, but she knew Natasha did not believe her. She could use her connections to discover the truth, but that was a breach of trust. “I’m going to bed. It’s been a long day. I’ll talk to you tomorrow, sestra.” The two sisters said goodnight, and Yelena set her alarm for the morning. She put her phone on the nightstand and cuddled up with Fanny. The dog rested her head on Yelena’s chest. “How did you know?” She asked, scratching her head. “Or did you just find her cute?” Fanny liked her hand. “You are a great wingdog.” She chuckled and closed her eyes. It was a busy day, and sleep found her quickly.
*
The smell of coffee and cinnamon filled your senses as you opened the door to The Lighthouse. It was warm, a stark contrast to the temperatures outside. You saw Yelena in the corner, back to the kitchen, and she faced the door. Smiling, you walked over to her. “Hi,” you said, removing your scarf and placing it on the hook. “I hope you weren’t waiting long.” She shook her head as she stood up, helped you out of your jacket, and hung it up.
“I wasn’t,” you sat down. “I just ordered some coffee.” You grabbed her hand, running your thumb over her knuckles. She smiled at the gesture. You determined you loved making her smile. “Now tell me what to get.”
You ordered the waffles with strawberries on top, and Yelena got the pancakes with scrambled eggs. Once breakfast was done, you argued with Yelena about who would pay (you won) and went back to the hotel room to get Fanny. You showed them around your tiny home, the best views of the mountains, where the kids went ice skating, and the route for the parade for every major holiday.
You sat on a bench near the park, watching Fanny run around in the snow. Your head was resting on Yelena’s shoulder, fingers intertwined with hers. “How long are you staying here?” You felt her shoulders move up and down as she sighed.
“Not sure,” she kissed the top of your head. “As long as I can, but we’ll figure it out, okay?”
“Yeah,” you smiled. ‘We’ll figure it out.”
*
Yelena should have known better. Her happiness would get stripped away as soon as the world was kind to her. It happened when she was six and blipped, resulting in her losing five years. It was not a surprise when she found her soulmate; Avenger duties would call. You were very understanding, but Yelena could see the disappointment on your face as you said goodbye to her and Fanny. The Black Would promised to call and visit as soon as possible. You kissed her softly, telling her to stay safe. It was one of the hardest goodbyes she had to make. Her teammates knew she was upset when she returned to the compound after being away for four days. But she had an obligation, an annoying obligation, but an obligation nonetheless. So she was on a mission with your lips on hers, the phantom feeling of your fingers playing with her rings, and your smile on her mind. It was those things, and the promise to see you kept her going.
*
Yelena dropped her bag to the ground as soon as she entered her room. Her body ached, and she screamed for a day off. She returned from a two-month deep undercover mission. That type of work was her favorite; convincing the people around her she was someone else was thrilling, but she was glad to be home. The bad guys were caught, and it was time to relax. She lay on her bed and pulled out her phone. There was limited contact, so it was quick text messages between you and Yelena. No phone calls meant Yelena was dying to hear your voice, but she knew you were at work. She sent a quick test, ‘Back home. Call me when you’re done. Miss you.’ She ensured her ringer was up before setting it on her side table. Sleep was quick to follow the Black Widow.
The shrill sound of her phone ringing woke her up. Though her eyes were laced with sleep, she didn’t recognize the number. “Hello?” She answered.
“Hi, this is Miss. Yelena, right?” The blonde sat up.
“Speaking, can I ask whose calling?” She knew that voice, but her sleep-deprived brain had trouble connecting.
“Oh, I’m sorry, it’s Linda, the owner of the Woodland Hotel. I do apologize for intruding, and I got your number from when you checked in,” Linda explained. “Oh, this is a complete breach of privacy.”
“Linda,” Yelena cut off her nervous rambling. “What’s wrong?”
“It’s Y/n,” the owner of the hotel said. The blonde was quick to her feet, still wearing the clothes she returned in, and walked over to her room. “She is going to kill me when she finds out I called you.”
“Is she in danger?” She took the stairs two at a time to get to her sister’s room and banged on the door. Maria opened the door, and she pushed past her sister’s girlfriend.
“Yes,” Linda said. “You need to get Chester quickly.”
*
Your hands wouldn’t stop shaking as you walked the typical streets of Chester, where you once felt safe. They were here. You weren’t sure how your father’s me found you, but they did. They were waiting - they sat at the diner you and Yelena ate at or checked in at the Woodland Hotel. But you weren’t sure what they were waiting for, so you were trapped. You took your keys out of your bag and unlocked the door, quickly going in and locking the door. You made a beeline for your bedroom, slamming the door closed and pushing our dresser in front of it. Dumping the contents of your bag on your bed, you find your phone and see the missed message from Yelena. You hesitated on calling the blonde. This was your mess, and she had just returned from a mission. With a sigh, you hit the call button. “Sweetheart,” you sounded panicked.
“Hi baby,” you tried to keep your voice steady, but you knew she heard it. “I’m in a little bit of trouble.” She laughed.
“I know,” she knew? She knew? How the hell-oh you were going to kill Linda. “I’m almost there. Where are you?”
“My apartment,” you walked into your closet and used your thumb to open up a small gun safe. “Front door is locked, and I pushed my dresser against my bedroom door,” you felt oddly calm. Something about hearing Yelena’s voice made you believe you would be okay. You loaded the pistol and put two extra magazines in your back pocket. “There are 5 of them. Probably armored with an assault rifle, pistol, and a knife.” You grabbed the knife that your father gave you for your 5th birthday. The man was a leader of a religious doomsday cult; he taught you how to be around weapons. “They are only here to capture me, but they’ll kill anyone in their way.” Yelena was quiet.
“Impressive,” you chuckled, putting the phone on speaker.
“I’ve been running from them for a long time,” you said, removing your shirt and putting on a bulletproof vest.
“Who are they?” A voice you didn’t know asked. “Natasha.” Damn, she was bringing the cavalry. You toed off your sneakers and wore combat boots and a new long-sleeved shirt.
“They call themselves the Arms,” you sighed. This was not how you wanted to tell her. “They are part of the security for my father.”
“And who is your father?” Another voice asked. “Kate.” She added on. You closed your eyes.
“Vincent Pierce.”
“Vincent Pierce,” a new voice repeated, and you knew the name. “Your soulmate is the daughter of a man on the FBI and Shield’s most wanted list.” You chuckled darkly.
“She didn’t know,” you said. “Not something I like to talk about on the first date.” You got Kate to laugh. “If I get out of this, I’ll help you put the son of a bitch in jail.”
“Not if,” Yelena said. You heard her take you off speaker and walk away. “When you get out of this.” You sighed. She was so unaware of the power your father had.
“Lena, if-”
“No,” she snapped. “We are 15 minutes out.” You heard a bang on your front door. “Do you have a weapon?”
“Pistol and a knife. I have two extra magazines.” Another bang forced you to stand up and undo the safety of the gun. You were so tired of the power that man had over you. You’ve been free from him for years, but you should have known better. His power was like a vice grip on your neck as long as he was alive. You were squeezing until you couldn’t breathe. It was so unfair.
Everyone dreamed of finding their soulmate and having that happily ever after. Your mom talked about finding hers one day. She spent her entire life seeing the world in black and white. “I love you,” Yelena laughed.
“Say that again when your life isn’t threatened,” she said. “Promise?”
“Promise.” You were going to keep that promise.
*
The small town of Chester erupted into chaos as the sounds of gunshots came from your apartment. You told Yelena there were only 2 of them before the line went dead, so they were missing 3. Kate and Yelena ran towards your apartment. She didn’t expect the second time being here to save you from your cult leader father’s minions.
The front door was on the ground, and Yelena already had her gun out. It was too quiet for her, and a man was lying face down in a pool of blood. The archer walked over and checked his pulse. She shook her head. They moved into your room and saw another body, and you were barely holding yourself up. Panic filled Yelena as she rushed over to you. “I’m fine,” you said. She saw no blood, but she pulled up your shirt and stared at the bulletproof vest that saved your life.
“Oh, dorogoy (sweetheart),” you chuckled, and Yelena kissed you so intensely that the world around her was drowned out until Kate cleared her throat.
“I love this for both of you,” the archer smiled. Yelena felt you burrow your face in the crook of her neck. “But I think we should get a move on.” The Black Widow sighed.
“Your right,” Yelena said. “Sorry.” Kate shrugged.
“Give me a second,” Yelena reluctantly let you go, and you walked into your closet, taking off the ripped shirt and the bulletproof vest. You grabbed a sweatshirt before turning around to face them, making sure it covered the pistol that was attached to your hip. The blonde could see a bruise forming on your stomach. “I’m down to one magazine,” you checked your gun.
“I have an extra one you can have,” Yelena told you. “We have her.” She said through the coms. Kate handed you an extra one to put in your ear.
“2 of the men have been dealt with,” Kate added.
“Do we have eyes on the other 3?” You asked. Yelena was impressed. You were handling this well, almost as if you were a shield agent. Once this was over, she could convince you to join the team.
‘Negative,’ Natasha said as Yelena led the group down the stairs and out your apartment door. The town was quiet. It was up to Maria to get all the civilizations back inside their house. ‘Has anyone seen or heard from Maria?’
“No,” Yelena answered her sister. “Do you want us to look for her or meet at the Randevu point?” The redhead sighed, and Yelena knew the internal debate she was having.
‘Get your girl to safety,’ Yelenafelt you grab her hand. Her girl. Her soulmate - who was still in danger and needed to get out of this place.
“Little bunny,” you froze, feet stopping in the snow. Yelena looked towards the direction of the voice. Vincent Pierce was decked out in his signature red suit, and 2 men were on either side. The color drained from your face. “Little bunny, it’s time to come home.”
*
“Little bunny, it’s time to come home,” the nickname made the little food in your stomach flip. It was once a name that provided comfort, a sign of love, but like everything your father touched, it turned to poison. You dropped Yelena’s hand and faced him. Now that you could see color, the suit was hideous - aviator glasses on and his hair slicked back with gel. “My, my, my,” he took off the sunglasses and handed them to the man on his left. “You’ve grown up.”
“It’s been a while, but I don’t have time for a family reunion. I have somewhere important to be.” You grabbed Yelena’s hand and began to walk away, but the sound of assault rifles being pointed at you caused the three of you to stop.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” he said. “Bring you out.” You spun around quickly to see the third man drag a woman. She was handcuffed, and they pushed her down to her knees in front of your father.
“Maria,” you looked at Kate. There was blood dripping down the side of her head. She was pissed, but at least she was alive. You heard Natasha mutter something in Russia.
“She a friend of yours,” your father taunted.
“Let her go,” you held up your arms to stop Yelena and Kate.
“Stop,” you said to all three of them. This had to be done carefully, or they would all go home in body bags. “What do you want, Vincent? She has nothing to do with this.” You pointed to Maria.
“She does, little bunny because she and the other Avengers are keeping you away from me,” of course. The man was obsessed with control. You were surprised he’d kept you alive this long.
‘Keep him talking,’ Natasha said. ‘I’m almost in position.’ You could do that. He loved to talk.
“Why do you want me to go with you so bad?” You questioned. “Don’t you have enough people under your control?”
“Because you are my daughter,” you scuffed. You were a pawn, another tool used so he could convince others to join him. The same went for your mom. “And I’m the only one who can protect you from the Rapture.” You rolled your eyes.
“I’m not a little girl anymore that will feed into your lies,” you took a deep breath. “I see right through them just like mom did.” You knew bringing her up would strike a nerve. His jaw clenched.
“Your mother was a nonbeliever,” he repeated the same lie. “She was a danger to the cult and you.”
“We need to end this,” Yelena mumbled. “The three min’ony (minions) are getting antsy.” They were. You saw their posture change.
“No,” you said, your hand grazing the pistol on your hip. “You killed her because she wanted to leave. You killed her,” you grabbed your pistol and ignored the way Yelena tried to warn you. “Natasha, get ready,” you mumbled. “Just like how I’m going to kill you.” You drew your pistol at him. Immediately, three assault rifles were pointed at you, and Kate and Yelena drew their weapons. When you fled your father’s prison, you bounced between roadside motels, and every night, without fail, there would be an old Western movie would be on TV. You felt like you were in one now. Maria sat up straighter, fidgeting with the cuffs on her wrist. Your father smiled.
“You won’t kill me,” you undid the safety on the gun. “You don’t have the guts, the strength. That’s the one thing I couldn’t beat into you,” your palm began to feel sweaty. It took weeks for some of the bruises to fade. “You are a weak, spineless little girl, just like your mother.” Oh, you wanted to kill the bastard, but you couldn’t. So you lowered your gun.
“Your right,” you said. You saw Maria nod her head. “I can’t kill you.” You smiled. “But my friend can hurt you. We still need to find the people you’ve held hostage.” It happened rather quickly. A single shot ran through the small town, and a bullet hit your father in the leg. Kate hit the man on the left, and Yelena shot the man on the right. Which left the man that brought Maria out; the brunette kicked her leg out and tripped the man. She jumped up, grabbed him by his winter coat, and punched him until he stopped moving.
The snow crunched below on your feet as you approached your father. There was red staining the snow. “Are you alright?” Yelena asked Maria. The brunette nodded.
“You know, I just had to dislocate my thumbs to break free,” you chuckled, but your eyes remained on the man. He was clenching his leg, which had the bullet wound in it.
“Don’t just stand there, you bitch,” he hissed. “Do something before I bleed out.”
“You don’t get to speak to her like that,” Yelena pulled her pistol on her. “You have no power over her.” There was a small part in you that wanted her to pull the trigger, to kill the monster that haunted your dreams, but it wouldn’t end it. Another one of his men would take his spot. You stepped before her, back to your father, and wrapped your arms around her body.
“Don’t,” you whispered, kissing her neck. “He’s not worth it.” Vincent laughed. The sound caused goosebumps to cover your skin.
“You found her,” you turned to face him as Kate forced the man up and handcuffed him. “You found your soulmate. How adorable.” He lunged forward, but Kate held him back. “Just because I’ll be locked away, this won’t end. The Rapture -” The archer punched him and fell back into the snow.
“That man needs to learn to shut up,” she shook her hand. “He’s got a hard jaw.” You laughed as you heard the sound of hurried footsteps against the snow. A redhead ran over to Maria, wrapping her arms around her; the force lifted her slightly. You smiled at the sight. Yelena tilted your head to look at her.
“Say it,” she whispered.
“I love you, Yelena Belova.” You said without hesitation. Yeah, it was good to keep your promise.
*
“We found it,” Maria placed the file on the table before you. You were at the Avenger’s Compound. It didn’t take much convincing for you to make a move until your father was prosecuted and sent to the RAFT. You’ve helped Maria bring down The True Creed for the past week. It was tasking, all the things you had to relive that you wanted to forget. Fanny stood up from her spot underneath the table and rested her head on your lap. The American Akita was your source of comfort when Yelena wasn’t around. Inside the folder were SHIELD agents raiding your father’s compound. “We are working with local officials to get everyone home safe and the help they need to recover.”
“It’s over?” You questioned, looking at the deputy director. She smiled, placing a comforting on your shoulder.
“It’s over. Your father or his men can’t hurt you or anyone else.” You let out a shaky breath. You never thought you would see this day. Freedom. You could go anywhere without having to look over your shoulder.
“Thank you, Maria,” you put the pictures back in the folder and handed them back to her. “I don’t know how I’ll be able to repay you.”
“Shut up,” she huffed, hitting your head with the file. “We should be thanking you.” You rubbed the back of your head with a pout. “So, what’s the plan now?” She asked. “Got to high tail it out of here and travel the world.” You laughed, scratching Fanny’s head.
“Yeah, maybe,” she hit the file against her hand.
“Well, do it. You deserve it.” You talked with her a bit about helping those under your father’s ‘brain control’ until Natasha pulled her away. She claimed that since the case was over, they could spend some time together. You smiled and looked down at the dog.
“Come on, sweet girl, let’s go find your mama,” it wasn’t hard to find the blonde. She was in the kitchen making a big pot of mac and cheese. You weren’t sure how she could stomach so much of the cheesy noddles. You wrapped your arms around her waist. Immediately, she leaned back into your embrace. “Smells good, baby,” you said, kissing her neck.
“Mmmm, it’s almost done,” she said. You kept kissing her neck. “If someone will stop distracting me.” She pushed you away playfully. Pouting, you gave her some space. It lasted 30 seconds.
“Baby, can I see your eyes?” She huffed, shook her head, and turned down the food. The color of her eyes still took your breath away. The green reminded you of chasing fireflies - their light would warm the night. Her eyes were like emeralds, like four-lead clovers; when you found them, you would have luck. Green was Mother Nature’s favorite color. The color was a healthy sign of love. It was unbelievable you went so long without seeing that color. “You are beautiful, Yelena Belova,” the blonde rolled her eyes.
“And you are a sap,” she teased but couldn’t fight the smile on her face. “What do you want?” You held out your hand, and she took it.
“Maria said it’s over,” her eyes lit up. “We can go anywhere we want to do.” Late nights were spent in each other’s arms, dreaming of seeing the world together. But Yelena wanted to wait until you were safe and could enjoy your time.
“Really?” She questioned. You nodded with a smile. “We are going to visit St. Petersburg first. I want to see the pigs.” You laughed as Yelena pulled you into her arms. Her lips briefly brushed against yours. “I love you, Deka.” You smiled, heart, skipping at the simple three-letter word.
“I love you too.”

Because I am obsessed with the famous trope here’s another one that kept me up all night.
Steve and Eddie dated right after Vecna in ‘86 and it’s perfect. They date each other and it’s like two puzzles clicking together. But they’re young, foolish and they both have mountains of trauma. And sometimes, the passion and love, just isn’t enough to keep a relationship going.
They have a messy break up that has Eddie packing all his stuff up in ‘88. Eddie goes to LA or New York, either way that’s where he gets discovered. He then goes on to write some very angsty and angry rock/metal music about the break-up that gets him up on the map.
Steve hates it. He hates it with every fibre of his soul because it’s one thing when you and you ex still have the same friends and have to be civil with each other, but it’s a whole other thing when you open the radio and this man you dated, this man you loved and cared for and failed is just out here singing it for the whole world to hear.
And yeah listen, it’s petty and dumb. But Steve writes his own fucking songs, it’s not the direct response to Eddie’s song but it’s close. By that time it’s already ‘90 and Eddie’s made a whole name and career out of their relationship. Steve writes the songs, he sings, and he sends the damn demo to almost fifty different companies. And he gets picked up by one company.
Steve takes the pop star route, and with his looks and his somehow amazing vocals, by ‘94 Steve’s on the charts with Whitney and Mariah. The whole Party has solemnly promised to not get involved with their petty songwriting fighting anymore. They also haven’t spoken in person in almost six years, and the only way they communicate now is through the freaking songs.
There’s not a lot of overlap with the rock and pop community, and no one notices it until ‘05. It’s one fan that makes this one blog post talking about this weird freaky coincidence in Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson’s songs. It becomes a whole thing, like someone from Hawkins pulls out the yearbooks and finds out that they could’ve known each other. Their faces are splashed together into every magazine and celebrity entertainment shows.
They don’t say anything about it. No one comments about it for a few years and it infuriates the public even more. The next time Steve comes out with a song, Eddie comes out with another song a few months after and it’s once again a literal conversation about their relationship.
The whole thing continues until ‘11 and by then there’s blog dedicated for all the clues. It’s now a long running thread, and it gets updated when there’s another clue to this massive confusing puzzle. There’s a whole subsection with names of every Party member and how they connect the two artists together. There’s freaking flow charts and pictures and family trees.
It only ends when Eddie finally posts two pictures on Twitter. The first one is taken backstage. All you can see is Steve’s back, but you will know it’s him because of his hair. He’s standing at the side of the stage, and on the stage is Eddie Munson singing. The second one is a picture of Eddie sitting in a couch as Steve looms over him, hands crossed on his chest. Eddie’s signing his own album with a smirk, while Steve glares at him. If you zoom, you can see the sign on the album saying, “To Steve. This album is for you.”
The caption says: “Me and my biggest fan. Circa 2004.”
Steve replies to the original post saying: “You’re sleeping on the couch tonight.”
Eddie deletes the post and reposts it with: “Me and my wonderful, gorgeous, talented husband. I can’t believe I am married to THE Steve Harrington.”
It’s the first time the term “break the internet” is ever used.
Turns out, they were just writing the songs to spite each other and to add fuel to the fandom fire. (In an interview, Eddie says, “It’s our foreplay.” and Steve doesn’t talk to him for a solid 30 minutes for running his mouth. It only lasts for 30 minutes because Eddie made it up to him by using his mouth for something else.)

Domestica - A Joel Miller Drabble
Rating: Explicit. 18+ (Minors DNI) Pairing: Pre Outbreak Joel Miller x Female Reader Word Count: 1,100 Summary: It's Joel's birthday, you're the best gift he can ask for. Warnings: No outbreak (happy birthday bb), smut, domestic fluff, Joel's POV. A/N: This absolutely planted in my brain and I couldn't do anything until I wrote it out. Masterlist
Heavy footsteps down the stairs, the jingle of his belt as he buckles it, the sound of a metal fork clanging against a glass bowl as eggs are whisked, the sizzle of bacon frying in the pan, Sarah gently humming a tune as the the orange juice pitcher glugs. Breakfast in the Miller household every morning plays all of the familiar sounds he loves to hear.
Every morning he wakes up reaching for you, but you’re an even earlier riser than him. The side of your bed empty, the plant that used to sit half dead on the bedside table now blooming and healthy, akin to how he feels about his life ever since you entered it.
——
He wraps his arms around you as you stand at the stove flipping bacon in the pan, sneaking a kiss to your neck as Sarah’s back is turned away. “Mornin’,” he breathes against your ear loving how you instantly mold to his body.
Your body fits so perfectly against his, no matter what time of day. Innocent morning hugs while Sarah’s around, lazy evening cuddles on the couch after dinner, smoldering night time hips meeting as he enters you.
“Happy birthday,” he can hear the smile in your voice as you softly thud your head against his broad chest. “You forgot to buy pancake mix, so it’s eggs and bacon for breakfast.”
“Fine by me,” he says against your head, kissing the top of it before pulling away to pour himself a cup of coffee. He refills your empty cup without asking, adding a heaping spoonful of creamer and a sprinkle of sugar, knowing exactly how you take it.
The best present he can be given today is seeing his girls at his table, you making Sarah giggle as you tease her about the actor she has a crush on. His hand on your thigh choosing to eat one handed because you’re still wearing your sleep shorts, those same shorts he peeled off your body last night before bed.
The diamond on your finger glinting in the sunlight pouring in from the windows, he moves his hands up to it to pet the hard stone, proud of himself for finding the ring of your dreams. He remembers the tears welling in your eyes as he asked you to marry him, those same eyes he looks for in a crowd, the same eyes that brighten when they see him.
“Bear, did you remember to grab the extra pack of highlighters I had in my desk?” He loves how you have your own pet name for Sarah. He loves how you’ve stepped right into being a coparent with him, leaving him feeling like he’s no longer struggling underwater slowly being drowned by his job and trying to be the best single parent he can be. He loves that Sarah loves you as much he loves you. You’re his gift that keeps on giving.
“Yep, thank you!” she winks at you, he loves how he can instantly tell the two of you are scheming together and how bad the two of you are at playing coy.
“I gotta get ready before it’s any late,” you rise from the table. “Be good today Bear,” he’ll never tire of seeing the way his daughter smiles as you kiss the top of her forehead. He swears your influence has kept her just as sweet in her teenage years as she was as a little girl.
“I’ll be up later to say goodbye after Tommy gets here,” he says as you bend over and kiss his cheek.
——
He can hear the shower on, a song quietly playing on the shower radio that you sing along to. The mirror’s fogged up, he can smell the sweet scent of your body wash wafting through the air mixing with the steam. “Baby, I’m leaving now,” he speaks over the song.
“Okay,” you open the shower door, naked and soaking wet, his hands tighten into frustrated fists because he can’t join you. “Still going to be late?”
“Afraid so,” he stands outside the tub, the walls of it his own blockade stopping him from being any later.
“Well, Sarah and I will go get a cake for you so at least you’ll have that whenever you get home,” you lean forward, your body dripping water on the floor and his boots.
“Thanks baby,” he wraps his arms around you, he doesn’t care how wet you’re getting his shirt, it’ll be a nice reminder of your body against his as it dries.
“I love you,” you look up at him and smile waiting for a kiss. “Have a good birthday day.”
“I’ll miss you,” his lips brush against yours, restraining himself to keep the kiss from turning heated.
A honk from outside rattles him out of the daydream of stripping off his clothes and joining you, pushing your naked body against the wall and fucking you against it.
“You better get going,” you lean away and step back under the water.
“Shit,” he adjusts the crotch of his jeans as you giggle at his predicament.
“Goodbye birthday boy, love you,” you shut the shower door, going right back to singing your song on the radio.
He stomps down the stairs annoyed that the last vision he’ll have of you on this birthday morning is you naked and smiling at him while water drips down your body.
——
That night after tucking Sarah in with a kiss on her forehead and a stroke of her soft cheek as she sleeps, he walks into his room to find you laid out on the bed, only the thin sheet covering your body, your eyes staring at him with a smirk on your lips. You look like a temptress, and he’s fallen under your spell.
“Happy birthday baby,” you whisper as you climb on top of him.
The gasp you let out as he enters you, shared moans muffled by each other’s lips, your slick squelching as he fucks into you, his tongue lapping up your wetness, the slurp of your lips as you suck him. Nighttime in Joel’s room plays all of the familiar sounds he thinks about during the day. The thought of seeing the way you smile whenever he sticks his cock in you gets him through the worst of days.
——
In the early morning he wakes up sweaty and panicked, panting for air terrified from his nightmare. You turn over, and grab the hand on his chest, soothing him back to sleep with your sweet voice and soft body against his reassuring him he hasn’t lost anything.

taptaptap…
You heard someone tapping on your bedroom window while you were playing video games. You kept the curtains down for a couple of days now so the light wouldn’t distract you from the screen. You didn’t see who it was but you knew nonetheless. You were too busy having fun with your new console so you didn’t budge.
taptapTAP!
“Bee! I know it’s you!”
taptaptaptaptap…
“Stop that! You’re going to break the window!” you shouted while not getting your eyes off the screen.
You could hear him buzzing like a sad bumblebee as he once again, but this time gently, tapped your window.
He made you pause your game. Sighing in irritation, you stood up and spread the curtains. You were welcomed by the sight of Bee’s wide puppy optics and his servo on the window. He let out a sad buzz once again.
“Bee. What do you want?”
To what his optics only widened as his muzzle wobbled.
“I’m busy, can’t you see?” you said and closed the curtains again.
But oh, he’s stubborn. He won’t give up until you give him the attention he wants. He wants Y/N’s cuddles now and he’s gonna get ‘em!
It was quiet until you heard him trying to open your window from the outside.
“That ain’t gonna work, Bee!” you said while trying to concentrate on the game.
He’s smart though. He sneaked one of his wires through the window crack and unlocked it, opening it and scooting away the curtains. He peaked his head into your bedroom and happily buzzed as his antennas wriggled.
“WHA- you’re unbelievable!” you said through a chuckle. You can’t be mad at him, JUST LOOK AT HIM. HE’S ADORABLE.
“Great, you made me lose my game.”
He reached with his servo inside and grabbed your console, ripping it out from the outlet and dragging it outside.
“WHAT ARE YOU- HEY! CAREFUL, IT’S FRAGILE!” you rushed to your window to see him holding it in the air.
He crossed his arms and tapped his foot on the ground like an angry parent.
“Beeeee… come on man…”
“You were playing— too long!— Time for a break!” he sulked over the radio.
“I was about to! After that match!”
“You always say that!”
“Please give it back! You’re going to break it!”
He shook his helm, lifting his chin and pouting, holding it higher in the air.
“Okaaaay.. What do I need to do?”
He opened his one optic, giving you a side eye. He then leaned closer to you and tapped his cheek plate, happily buzzing. Indicating he wants a kiss.
He made you giggle, “So that’s what this is all about huh~?” you said and leaned to give him a kiss but this cheeky little bastard turned his helm in the last moment so you ended up kissing his muzzle. You didn’t mind though, you giggled as he gave a happy little dance shuffle.
He then grabbed you and yeeted your console back inside, damaging it.
“BEE!”
He laughed as he transformed and so you found yourself inside the Camaro.
“You broke it!!!”
“Nothing— Ratchet— can’t fix.” he said as he floored it, heading to the main streets, taking you out for a ride.
You couldn’t help but laugh. You slouched in your seat, “How can I possibly be mad at you?”
“I missed you…”
“I know, Bee… I’m sorry…” you rubbed the steering wheel, “It was kinda selfish… I promise I won’t be so irresponsible anymore.”
He happily buzzed and played “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee on the radio.
“Get ready for the ride of your life, beautiful~!” he used a movie quote.
You finally realized no console or game can replace your actual loved ones. You two enjoyed each other’s company like you used to as you rode into the sunset…

When I Was Your Man
jj maybank x ex!reader ——> rafe cameron x reader
wc: 3.3k
lyrics in italics and in bold
Tumblr media
Same bed but it feels just a little bit bigger now
Our song on the radio but it don't sound the same
When our friends talk about you, all it does is just tear me down
'Cause my heart breaks a little when I hear your name
JJ was still getting used to waking up without out you. The other side of his bed lay empty. He would wake up without your body heat and you snuggled next to him. Each morning he woke up he felt cold and entirely alone.
Today was no different, he stretched his arm out to the other side of the bed hoping to find a body. Instead he was met with cold sheets. The bed felt too large to be in, swallowing him whole.
JJ got up as he was going to hang out with the pogues today. After A few minutes he walked out of his room and met John B outside. The twinkie was waiting for the two of them.
John B and JJ hopped in the twinkie and started on the road to pick up Pope.
As John B was driving JJ's heart sunk as a familiar tune made its way on the radio. It was "Say You Won't Let Go." Your song.
John B made a motion to turn it up.
"You like this song right JJ?" John B inquired.
"No shut it off please." JJ pleaded.
John B was fiddling with the volume button that it wasn't turning off fast enough. JJ reached his hand over and slammed it off.
***flash back***
The radio hummed as the five of you ate at the wreck. Then one of your favorite songs came on through the radio.
"Dance with me JJ," you spoke standing up.
JJ got up as well and made his way over to you.
You took JJ's hands in yours and swung into him and then out. JJ slipped his hand around your waist and kept his other hand in yours.
The soft melody of "Say You Won't Let Go" rang in your ears. JJ spun you around and you smiled brightly at him.
JJ's heart skipped a beat when you looked at him like that. Your eyes sparkling and showing him love. Your bright smile that told him your happy with him.
Then you turned towards JJ and sang, "I wanna live with you even when we're ghosts. 'Cause you were always there for me when I needed you most."
The words you sang rang true as you sang them. The way JJ herd the way you meant what you were singing.
JJ continued to the next verse and mouthed, "I'm gonna love you till my lungs give out."
The two of you swayed as you danced. You were wrapped up in one another and slow dancing.
"This is our song now," You grinned.
"Of course baby it's ours," JJ responded.
You gave JJ a hug as your dancing came to an end. He secured his arms around you and squeezed tightly. He than proceeded to kiss your forehead.
***flashback ends***
JJ and the pogues were all back at the château outside enjoying each others company.
"What should we do today?" John B asked.
"I don't know we could go to the beach," Pope suggested.
"Y/N always loved the beach." Kiara reminded everyone.
At the mention of your name JJ froze. He felt his heart stutter. JJ hearing your name crushed him.
"Yeah she always loved looking at the waves," Sarah stated.
"I wish she was here with us," John B commented.
"Can we actually not talk about Y/N right now," JJ spoke.
"Right sorry JJ," John B apologized.
Everyone did end up going to the beach. JJ however looked glum. All his friends noticed his strange behavior but no one commented on it.
Truth be told JJ was thinking about you. He couldn't seem to get you off his mind. He was reminiscing about the times you had together. He missed you a lot and he had no idea what to do about it.
————
It all just sounds like ooh, ooh, ooh, hoo
Mm, too young, too dumb to realize
That I should have bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should have gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party 'cause all you wanted to do was dance
***flash back***
JJ wasn't stupid. He knew that having a catch as good as you was lucky. He also knew that in order to keep you he had to treat you right. He also had to do special things for you.
JJ was young and he didn't have that much money. Coming from the cut, he felt he wasn't worthy of your love. He was poor and came from nothing, therefore would not amount to anything. He sometimes felt like he didn't deserve you.
You were at the grocery store and when you first walked in there was a bunch of bouquets of flowers in buckets. "Oooh look how pretty!" you exclaimed.
You picked up a bunch of sunflowers and held them to your nose. You inhaled and JJ watched as you did so. He couldn't afford anything more than food. So as embarrassed as he was he took your hand and ushered you away from the roses and to the food aisles. "Come on let's go."
JJ dropped your hand once you reached the food aisle and didn't hold it again. You went to grab his hand when you were leaving the store but he put his hand in his pocket instead, silently dismissing you.
When you got back from the store you decided to hang out at the château. You and JJ were on the couch relaxing when you thought of some things to do together.
"Hey J, do you want to go have a picnic?"
"No not really," he replied.
"Ok do you want to go surfing?"
"No I got some stuff to work on actually, I'm gonna head out," JJ got up to stand and walked out without even kissing you goodbye.
————
A week later there was a party at the boneyard. You were really excited to go because you loved parties. You loved the atmosphere and the energy. You liked to mingle and talk and most of all dance drunkenly.
You were in the hammock at the château wondering what you were gonna wear to the party today when JJ approached you. You were happy to see your boyfriend and excited to spend time with him at the party.
"Hey baby, I have some bad news," JJ announced.
"What is it?"
"I can't take you to the party today."
"Why not?" You questioned.
"I have to help John B with something, it's really important and I'm really sorry." JJ expressed.
"Ok well can't I just go without you," you figured.
"What? Are you crazy?! No you can't. I won't be there to protect you from all the guys that hit on you. No way. Not happening." JJ seethed.
"It's not like I will accept their advances. I won't engage with them. I just want to dance," you replied.
"But what happens when guys come up behind you and take hold of your hips and have you grind on them," JJ raised a brow.
"Like that will ever happen," you countered.
"You never know."
"So there's no way in hell your letting me go to this party?" you asked again.
"Nope." JJ put his foot down, crossing his arms.
"Please go away so I don't tell you off."
JJ walked away without another word and you laid in the hammock wondering what you did to have not earned his trust.
You ended up not going to the party per JJ's wishes and you were sad about it. You ended up stuck in your room watching romantic comedies.
***flashback ends***
Now my baby's dancing
But she's dancing with another man
JJ was at the bonfire. He was dragged here by John B. He wasn't really in a party mood but he decided to get something to drink. JJ got a beer from the cooler and leaned against the wall assessing the party.
What he didn't except was to see was you dancing with Rafe. You were holding hands with Rafe and twirling from side to side. You were in your own little world. Rafe was swinging you in and out from his chest and dancing to the music.
JJ was about to spit fire. He was seething. Out of all the people you could be with you chose Rafe. JJ was no angel but he wasn't anything like Rafe. Rafe was evil, pond scum, terrible and JJ was protective, calm, laidback, and nice.
JJ watched you dance with Rafe with a scowl on his face. He wasn't happy. That should be him. He should be the one that has you in his arms. He should be the one making you laugh. He should be the one you choose. He should be the one you dance with.
Rafe didn't deserve you. No one was worthy enough for you except him. He hated seeing you dance with someone else. He thought back to when you wanted to go to a party and he said he wouldn't take you. He felt bad and guilty about it because you most likely wanted to dance with him.
JJ had half a mind to go over there and fight Rafe. He chose to stand there watching and biting his tongue. Then something happened that JJ didn't expect. Rafe grabbed your face and lowered his head to place his lips on yours.
JJ was fuming. How dare he kiss you in front of him. JJ wasn't thinking clearly maybe it was the alcohol coursing through his veins but he made his way over to where you and Rafe were.
JJ stepped up to the pair of you and tapped Rafe on the shoulder.
"What the hell is your problem?"
"My problem? You wanna know what my problem is oh I'll tell you my problem," JJ pointed an accusatory finger at Rafe.
Then JJ looked on your direction and saw your apprehensive face.
"JJ don't do this," you begged.
"I think you can cool it with the PDA," JJ grumbled.
""Or what?" Rafe stuck is tongue against his cheek.
"Or else i'll fight you." JJ crossed his arms and getting up in Rafe's face.
"Oh I'd love to see you try," Rafe responded.
"No we don't we don't need to see it," You gathered Rafe and tried to pull him in a different direction.
"Count your blessings JJ," Rafe spit out before walking off with you, arm thrown around your waist.
My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways
Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life
Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, oh
And that haunts me every time I close my eyes
***flashback***
The château was empty besides you and JJ. The other pogues were at the beach, leaving you two alone. The sun was setting dipping below the horizon, painting the sky in pink and orange.
The air was crisp and chilly. The breeze from the screen door drifted into the room making you shiver. It was almost the evening time and you were sat on the couch.
JJ was in the lounge chair next to you, smoking a blunt. There was something bothering you and JJ was oblivious to it. You sat there with an annoyed look on your face waiting for JJ to notice.
It wasn't until JJ was done with his blunt that he looked on your direction. He had been busy thinking about work. He hadn't noticed your irritation until now.
"What's the matter?" JJ asked.
You let out a big sigh. You were tired, so tired of putting up with JJ. You believed he wasn't treating you right. It was always all about him. What he wanted to do, where he wanted to go. He was always boasting about himself.
"Nothing JJ, I'm just tired," you responded.
"Well something must be bothering you if you keep looking at me like that," JJ reasoned.
"Alright fine, I'm annoyed at you for being so selfish all the time," you frowned.
"What do you mean?" JJ questioned.
"I mean it's like you don't even care about me anymore. Sometimes you hurt me and you don't even show remorse. You don't care how your behavior impacts me," you huffed.
"So you want to change who I am?" JJ was shocked. He didn't know where this was coming from. He thought everything was fine between you two. He didn't know this had been brewing for a while.
"No, I'm just saying I don't appreciate how you've been acting." You replied.
"Right because I've been so bad," JJ scoffed.
"I'm not trying to criticize you I'm trying to better our relationship by helping you realize the problem," you explained.
"Sounds like you are," JJ countered.
"Well i'm not."
"Whatever Y/N," JJ stated.
"JJ stop being a jerk and listen to me," you begged.
"What?" JJ looked at you like he was annoyed.
"I can't keep putting up with you," you said exasperated.
You got up, and walked outside fed up with JJ's attitude. JJ quickly followed you outside. He was determined to prove to you he was a good boyfriend.
"Y/N! Y/N! wait," JJ called out.
You spun around with a angry look on your face, "JJ I'm done I've had it I don't want to be with you anymore," you were done with his behavior lately and you needed your space.
"Y/N, please I can change, I'll do better," JJ pleaded.
"Those are just empty promises," you spat.
"No they aren't," JJ argued.
"JJ I give up. You know things haven't been good between us for a while. I think it's time to call it quits," you sadly said.
"But I still love you," JJ cried.
"I love you too, but I don't think that's enough anymore," you sighed.
"Goodbye JJ," you spoke softly.
As you turned around and started to walk off, a tear rolled down JJ's cheek. He knew it was over, you ended things and it was entirely his fault.
*****flashback ends*****
JJ was reflecting on your relationship. Ever since he lost you he been beating himself up. Every time he closes his eyes he sees your retreating figure leaving him.
JJ knew he made mistakes, he knew he was in the wrong and made a mess of things. He wanted to win you back desperately. But he also knew you were with Rafe now. You have moved on.
It all just sounds like ooh, ooh, ooh, hoo
Mm, too young, too dumb to realize
That I should have bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should have gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party 'cause all you wanted to do was dance
JJ thought about your relationship from the beginning to the end. It was truly magical. The beginning was glamorous and fun. The newness of it brought a sense of excitement.
Falling in love with you was one of the easiest things JJ could have done. You were perfect for him. Your relationship was filled with adventure and love along with joy.
When JJ first saw you he was immediately hooked on you. There was something about you that made him feel something in his chest. When you two started talking he was over the moon. Eventually since there was sparks between you two you started dating.
Dating you was like sunshine at the beach. Warm and inviting, along with happiness. It was all sunshine and rainbows for the most part. Towards the end is when everything went downhill. But JJ tried his best to be a good boyfriend for most of the relationship.
You were his drug. Without you he was nothing. You made his days better and brighter.
He got caught up in the highlights of the relationship that he didn’t realize he was sabotaging it.
JJ wished he bought you flowers. He wished he was more caring and didn’t act like a dumbass near the end of the relationship. He wished he gave you more attention instead of throwing himself into work.
Now my baby's dancing
But she's dancing with another man
Although it hurts
I'll be the first to say that I was wrong
Oh, I know I'm probably much too late
To try and apologize for my mistakes
But I just want you to know
JJ wanted to apologize for his actions. He felt bad for what happened and felt like he could of fought for you more.
How can he apologize when you are with Rafe. JJ doubts Rafe would let him even get close to you, which made JJ feel even worse.
JJ was replaying your break up in his head over and over. He wasn't over you and it had been months. He kept thinking there was something he could of said or did that would have prevented the break up.
At work at the country club, girls would come up to him and flirt with him. They would ask him out and of course he would turn them down. There was only one girl he wanted to go out with but he blew it.
JJ was depressed. He went to work and back to the château and slept most of the time he wasn't working. John B would try and get him to go out with him and hang out, to get out of the house but JJ turned him down every time.
JJ was also hurting. Even though it was his fault that everything went wrong he still loved you. He was lost without you. Other than sleeping and work he also started drinking and smoking a lot more. He was a hot mess.
I hope he buys you flowers
I hope he holds your hand
Give you all his hours
When he has the chance
Take you to every party
'Cause I remember how much you loved to dance
Do all the things I should have done
When I was your man
Do all the things I should have done
When I was your man
Rafe was in his kitchen when he saw that the mail came. You were still peacefully sleeping and Rafe didn't want to wake you. He took the stack of envelopes and looked through the mail.
It was mainly just bills but then he saw a letter addressed to him. He decided to open it, and what was inside he was not expecting.
Rafe,
I know you don't like me and that is valid but I feel that it's important for me to tell you these things. I also feel like you might throw this away so I encourage you to read this. Do it for Y/N if not for me. I know you care about her so I trust you will do the right thing.
Y/N is breathtaking. In every way. Treat her with love and kindness as well as respect everyday. I know I should have treated her better and it's something I will regret for the rest of my life.
I expect you to keep her happy. I don't want you to take what i'm saying lightly. Y/N deserves the world and more and if you can't give her that than move on. I assume you think you can give her the world so I have some very important tips.
She likes bubble baths with coconut scented products. She likes extra hot chamomile tea at night time. She likes to have bonfires at the beach after watching the sunset. She likes to slow dance in the kitchen. She likes getting her nails done.
You should get her flowers every once and a while because she lights up when she sees them. When she's mad she will shut you out but let her come to you. When she's sad be her shoulder to cry on. And ice cream also helps a lot. Her favorite is cookies n cream.
When you feel like she could use a break because she's a hard worker treat her to a spa day or something. She doesn't loose her temper often but when she does listen to her. She will most likely apologize first in arguments, but don't always let her do that.
She's scared of thunder so make sure to be attentive and extra kind when it's storming. Sometimes all she needs is reassurance so be there for her and reassure her as much as you can. Her love language is physical touch so be there for her in ways that support her needs.
Hold her hand in public, it makes her feel safe. When you are at a party she loves to dance so make sure you dance with her. When you feel like you're becoming possessive trust her she would never do anything to be disloyal.
Love her with your whole heart because she deserves it. Treat her like she's the only girl in the world. Treat her like a princess. I know I could have done a lot better as a boyfriend so she deserves better than me. And I hope to god for your sake that's you.
-JJ
Rafe was shocked. He decided not to tell you about the letter because he didn't want to bring up old wounds. So, he tucked the letter away and went to go cuddle into you.

what about cod men with reader who BLASTS music like ayesha erotica, nikki minaj and etc randomly while chilling or has headphones and does that while on field
Ohhhh I think they would probably be all so confused or worried if it happened in the middle of a mission lol, here my thoughts to that scenario:
Tumblr media
When Ghost heard you playing Nasty from Ayesha for the first time on the middle of interrogating someone they captured and kept alive on their mission, he was very irritated. Soap tried to get the new, right information out of the soldier meanwhile you two and Gaz stood in the darker corner, staring at the horrified man as you quietly sang the lines of the song playing over your headset.
,,Damn I'm sorry I blew you off, I was doing lunch with Microsoft. I'm sucking off a C.E.O, if he's not a millionaire then I've got to go~"
,,What the hell?! Y/n quit that singing! What even is that?", Ghost looked disgusted at you, questioning why he was even befriended with you in first place but quick to remember that you're actually his favorite person on earth, except for when you were listening to sich filth. In the middle of a mission. He quickly became used to it though, just told you once in a while to keep it down or put the music off if the operation was in need of your attention. He didn't enjoy the music as it was, the text too vulgar and flithy for his liking, but he couldn't deny that the melodies of some of your songs were quite catchy sometimes. Of course he grew even more annoyed when you and Gaz would play songs together on base and Soap would jump in on it with his ugly singing.
Tumblr media
He didn't knew you were listening to that kind of music. He sometimes heard you playing some songs as loud as you could in your room, but he never understood a thing of what was sang and your door was always locked, as if to keep people out from seeing you dance some kind of risky dance to this music. Oh boy, if he knew.
Emo Boy was suddenly playing. It scared the shit out if Soap, Kyle and yourself even though it was your ringtone.
,,Oh shit! Sorry guys, Mama's calling. Don't wait for me with the movie!", you were smiling at them and quickly picking up and talking to your mum over the phone.
,,Was that-", ,,Emo Boy by Ayesha Erotica?", ,,Oh. My. God. I heard that right?!!?", ,,Yeah...I didn't know Y/n would listen to that type of music Soap!", ,,Me neither Gaz...it's a catchy song though", ,,Oh it really is. Probably why he chose it?", ,,Yeah...you think he's also into other songs of that genre?", ,,Maybe. Are you?", ,,Oh hell nuh. Not me, no no".
Gaz raises a brow at that and smirks. Then they both start laughing. ,,Oh you are so listening to this kind of music man!", ,,Pah, and if I am? You knew the song by name and artist by just a few seconds of melody playing!", ,,Ah yeah you got me there mate heh"
,,Alright guys, I'm back! Let's start this movie night shall we?", you grinned and sat next to Kyle again, who just smiled at you and nodded, reaching for the remote control. ,,Tell me, is that the music you alway listen and dance to in your room?", ,,Uhm yeah, whx Kyle?", ,,...Wanna show me one of those dances someday?", he grinned suggestively and you just giggled at that.
Tumblr media
Oh this man showed you this tyoe of music, actually. He was playing some song from Doja Cat on the radio of the car from his so nicely called "Hype or Horn Me Up" playlist. You were confused at first. The words used in the songs were...interesting. And Soap was dancing and tapping to it like he was in some dance off. It was amusing and fun. Of course his taste in music wore off on you and so it surprised noone on the team when you were running past them on the field, gun in hand while looking as if you had the time of your life, the could hear for a short time the music blasting through your headphones as you went to go for the next kills.
,,I ain't tryna be cool like you hmmhmhmhmm", you sang while aiming to shoot an enemy, the new song coming on another Doja Cat favourite of you and soap. Hitting the target clean in the head you smirked. ,,I'm bitch. I'm a boss. I'm bitch, I'm a boss, I'm a shine like gloss!", ,,Oi yes you are Darlin!", Soap beamed from behind you. Price was just sighing and pinching his nosebridge while Ghost was just standing next to him like an annoyed older sibling.
You guys would play this type of music all around the base, 24/7. All week long. Until Price got so mad he made you do the dishes and gave you one month of cleaning duty. You did in fact not keep it down afterwards and everyone just had to live with it. Some of the younger recruits actually enjoyed it and envied you guys for that, made them feel less stressed and more relaxed.
Tumblr media
Oh boy. Oh. Boy. He nearly died. First time you blasted that music on the car ride to some pub out of town because you guys all got some time off duty? He was thinking about how he could never go to heaven now, or even just into a church. He would perish just standing on the steps of a church. But then he remembered, he wasn't even religious. So that was fine. But then he thought "Why the fuck is this muppet listening to THAT?!!?!?". You currently sat in the driver's seat and danced to S.L.U.T by Bea Miller. Before that a song way worse was playing, Price recalled (it was I Want Your Bite by Cara Cunningham). This one now wasn't too bad. It was quite nice actually. Way more innocent than ghe other one. John was thankful for that, he grew very hot and was all flustered by the other song which made him feel a little uncomfortable.
,,Oh we're nearly there Cap!", ,,Y-Yes. Just...just put the car to a stop yeah?", ,,Whatever you say Captain!", you smiled while the next song came on. ,,Oh my god this one is so good!". Price looked over to you, awaiting something more innocent again like before. He thought wrong.
,,Ride it, slide it, bite, get inside it
Come on, touch my body
I know that you like it, you can't hide it
Come on touch my body
Hotter, bigger, faster, longer, thicker
Come on touch my body!", you sang loud and proud to the lines of Treat Me Like A Slut by Kim Petras. John officially was a tomato now. He loved seeing you having your fun, but this was surely and never will be his kind of music choice.
,,Treat Me Like A Slut, little dirty bitch I love to fuck!", ,,Okayyy I think it's- oh look there's the pub! Get us a good parking lot and then we'll have some fun kid, a'right?", ,,Yes!".
Poor guy always gets all red when he hears some of his boys play such music. And with Soap and you, and occasionally also Kyle, on his team that was a lot of times. But he wouldn't be too mad about it. Just sometimes id you played it too loud or while he was in an important meeting. He did enjoy seeing you all have your fun so he is not too strict with punishments.
Tumblr media
You are playing some pretty filthy, nasty song in your shared house. Ale just came back from grocery shopping, Rudy in tow helping him with the bags. You were wearing just a shirt and boxers while singing to the song, looking through some magazines on the couch and just waiting for Alejandro to be back. He new of your guilty pleasure for those songs, this kind of music. He adored the way you would get all red sometimes when he talked about it to you, but he doesn't judge. He actually listens to songs like this as well. Obviously in spanish. He showed you some in his native language and you enjoyed them, even if you didn't know what was said.
Alejandro would laugh sometimes when you randomly put the music on while you were in a fight. It always made his mood go all the way up hearing and seeing you enjoy this music, especially if you would listen to the spanish ones he had shown you. For him it is no problem. He trusts you with being focused on missions so he allows you to listen to music, sometimes you even listen together over the radio.
The same goes for Rodolfo, but the poor guy would be worried sick if you would start blasting loud music on missions out of nowhere. Give the little guy a warning beforehand so he doesn't shoot you out of shock hehe. He also shows you songs in spanish, some that are not as filthy as yours but have the same kind of energy and he translates them for you.
Tumblr media
Little german/austrian boy listens to filthy music himself. He is the biggest Rammstein fan there is. One of his favourite songs is probably Bück Dich (Bend Over) and Dicke Titten (Big Boobs/Big Tits). He also really enjoys Labyrinth by OOMPH! It's not really filthy with words but the meaning is pretty dirty. It's also a banger like, he was so happy you enjoyed listening to music with him. To that kind of music as well. He really wantes to visit a Rammstein concert with you someday, if you said yes.
He doesn't listen to music on the job though. And because he's your colonel he asked you kindly to not do it either. On the flight to wherever the mission was? Yes of course he will even listen with you to calm his nerves. At the base? Sometimes he even gets Horangi to join you guys, who really hates this kind of music because he heard too much of it in hia home country (he absolutely hates kpop and all the horny people coming with it).
When you showed him some of your favourite artists and they would sing too fast or use words he didn't understand, you would try to translate for him and the most funny german ever. He told you it was fine to try to explain in english but you really wanted to make him happy and maybe even laugh a little when you tried to explain that the person in the song just sang "Ich möchte in deinen Titten ertrinken" (I wanna drown on those tits/boobs of yours). He is so sweet if someone came up and would make fun of you listening to such music, like he would finally use his rank for once and make them regret for ever saying that to you.

Steve starts driving Eddie places after he gets out of the hospital. It just makes sense. He’s so used to chauffeuring Robin and the kids around, that driving with Eddie is natural. Sure, unlike the others Eddie has a driver’s license, but they both know the road is a hell of a lot safer when Eddie isn’t behind the wheel.
The thing is, Eddie’s always complaining about Steve’s music. Steve’s a simple guy. He turns on the radio and listens to whatever it spoon-feeds him (pop garbage, according to Eddie). Steve likes the music well enough. He’s never really loved music, it’s just background noise. Hell, when pushed Steve couldn’t think of what his Vecna song would be. So to avoid Eddie’s gripes he relents and lets Eddie leave a couple of his cassettes in the BMW.
At first, Steve only plays the tapes when Eddie’s in the car but as time passes something changes. Steve finds himself driving home alone, dreading returning to the cold and quiet halls he knows await him in Loch Nora. The radio isn’t cutting it when it comes to drowning out the background chatter and dread in his head, so he switches over to one of Eddie’s tapes. It makes him feel less alone. He can imagine Eddie’s ringed fingers tapping their way across the passenger door furiously to the beat of the song, and he doesn’t feel so alone.
That’s how some of the tapes manage to migrate from his car to the tape deck in his room. When he plays them, he feels like the house comes alive, that he isn’t alone. He doesn’t tell Eddie, of course. He doesn’t tell anyone. One day he slips up while driving Dustin to Hellfire.
“I didn’t pick you as a metalhead, Steve,” Dustin notes with a shit-eating grin.
He’s confused at first, until he hears the familiar tune of Metallica’s Welcome Home, through the BMW’s speakers and knows he’s messed up. Dustin definitely brings it up as soon as he gets to Hellfire, spouting nonsense about how Eddie’s corrupted Steve with ‘the devil’s music’- seriously, where does the kid even come up with that shit?
The ride back from Hellfire is made all the more painful, with Eddie in the passenger seat and Dustin mouthing off from the backseat. Steve’s being berated from all angles about being a ‘closeted metalhead’. It’s been a long day and Steve is so goddamn tired so he can be forgiven for finally snapping.
“I only listen to that shit because it reminds me of you,” Steve remarked shutting them both up in an instant.
Dustin is the quickest to recover. He leans forward, nudging Steve’s shoulder.
“Careful dude, say stuff like that and Robin’ll get jealous. It sounds like you’re in love with Eddie.”
“Shut the hell up, Henderson,” Steve snaps, too quickly, too defensively.
That’s when Dustin realises he’s screwed up. Royally screwed up, because Steve being gay never entered the ballpark of his imagination and it made sense didn’t it? Kind of. The way Steve kept insisting he and Robin were platonic. He hadn’t gone on many dates since Eddie’s return from hospital.
He tried to dredge up all the things he’d been planning to say when Will inevitably came out because that, Dustin saw coming.
“Actually it’s cool if you are, you know, gay. We wouldn’t think of you any differently if you were. Right, Eddie?” Dustin desperately looks to Eddie, who’s gone full deer-in-the-headlights, wide-eyed.
“I might think of him a little differently,” Eddie breathes, sounding a million miles away. Dustin looks at him like he’s about ready to kill a man and Steve’s gone pale.
The rest of the drive is spent in awkward silence. Steve dreads the moment he arrives at the Henderson household, knowing the second Dustin leaves the car, things are going to get infinitely worse.
“If I’ve screwed things up, just let me know because I don’t know where to go from here,” Steve says once they’re alone. He hears Eddie exhale and braces himself for the worst as he waits for the man to reply.
“How about we start with one of those trademark, pickup lines I’ve heard so much about,” Eddie prompts. Steve is confused. It might be a common occurrence, but that doesn’t make it any better.
“What?” Steve asks, not able to come up with something more articulate.
“Is what Dustin said true?” There was no point in lying, was there?
“Yes. No. Mostly. I’m not gay-,” To Steve’s surprise, he watches Eddie’s shoulders fall. If he didn’t know better he’d think the guy was disappointed.
“But I do like guys. Not all guys. Some guys. Sometimes.” Steve’s rambling and he knows it.
“Then I meant what I said, to Dustin.” And there it is, the thing Steve’s dreading.
“Right. Yeah, okay. So do you still want me to drop you off at your place or should I just pull over now?”
Steve tries to hold back the hurt in his tone because he hasn’t admitted it out loud to anyone yet and it sure as hell smarts to be so blatantly rejected. He might actually have preferred getting punched in the face, at least there was something finite about it.
“Steve,” Eddie breathes and his voice is soft, gentle even. Which makes no damn sense. He sounds like Robin did, on the floor of the cinema bathroom: vulnerable and exasperated, but not mad.
“Pull over.” So Steve does.
Eddie sets a hand on Steve’s shoulder, looks him dead in the eyes and licks his lips.
“Steve, I’m gay and very much in love with you. Up until tonight, I thought you were very straight and totally out of my league, so if you’re telling me I’ve got a shot, that changes shit.” Oh. Steve finally caught up.
Steve turns down the volume of the music, just to make sure he’d heard Eddie right. Then leaned into the man’s space.
“Ahoy there, sailor.”
Much to his dismay, Eddie laughs- scratch that, he snorts, doubling over, trying to muffle the noise with a hand.
“That was the pickup line?” Eddie clarifies.
“I’m rusty and I’ve never used it on a guy,” Steve retorts defensively.
Before he knows it, Eddie’s back in his space, his breath ghosting hot over Steve’s cheek.
“Hey, I didn’t say it didn’t work.”

remembered how ian told lip that he would gift kash CDs in s1 and got to thinking...
at the beginning of ian and mickey's relationship ian starts collecting CDs with the intention of giving them to mickey but he never does - he never knows how mickey will react to certain kinds of affection so he does his best to toe the line with things like gift-giving. still, he stacks the CDs beneath his bed where they gather dust. it makes him sad to think of them sitting there, unplayed, but he tells himself someday he'll be able to tell mickey "look, i kept these for you for years. i thought of you all the time." and he'll have proof of it.
when mickey starts sleeping over at the gallagher house he stumbles across the CDs by mistake (see: he swings his legs over the side of the bed and kicks a stack of them). he kneels beside the bed and picks up the plastic cases, turning them over in his hands. he glances up at a still sleeping ian, wondering how secret these are supposed to be. some of the CDs are in brand new packaging, others are clearly secondhand. what intrigues mickey the most is the ones he realises ian burned himself.
ian's handwriting spells out mickey's name and various nicknames across the shiny surfaces in bright blue sharpie, surrounded by doodles of stars and spirals that remind mickey of what mandy used to draw in the margins of her textbooks. he thumbs over the titles of different songs that span all kinds of genres, songs mickey's heard on the radio and songs by artists mickey's never even heard of.
good old-fashioned lover boy by queen. where did you sleep last night? by nirvana. i want you by mitski. i bet you look good on the dancefloor by arctic monkeys. yellow by coldplay. dirty little secret by the all-american rejects. be quiet and drive (far away) by deftones.
some of the songs seem so cheesy that mickey expects himself to roll his eyes or laugh, but instead he finds a smile playing on his lips, looking at all of the songs ian picked out with him in mind. just a year ago he would've rushed to make a joke about it all, but now he feels his heart skip a beat instead. he tries not to think about what it means that he occupies so much space in the other's mind and heads downstairs to slide one of the older CDs into the player the gallaghers keep by the TV, volume up high so he can hear the songs over the general racket of the rest of the family.
halfway through the tracks, mickey hears a small, surprised sound come from the staircase. he turns around and sees ian standing there, wide-eyed and blushing a little. mickey huffs a soft laugh, though he's less amused and more infatuated than anything else (though he would never admit as much out loud).
"morning gallagher," he chimes, grinning when ian jumps over the back of the sofa to sit beside him. ian shakes his head, stifling a smile.
"i burned this years ago," ian mumbles sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. "where'd you find it?"
"under your bed," mickey replies. when ian turns to face him he takes the opportunity to lean in and press a quick, shy kiss to the corner of his lips. "you're a sappy motherfucker... it's pretty good though."
ian snickers and leans into him, a dopey smile on his lips.
"glad to hear it," he murmurs, and settles back against the sofa so they can finish listening to the disc together.

hi auds!! it's my birthday today ;) i never send reqs i know you get a whole ton of them but if you ever got around to this- i think the f1 fic world has a very worrying lack of aus. so could i get a band!charles au drabble where he writes a song about reader and she hears it on the radio? any song you like. reader could be driver or something or connected to f1 if thats cool !!! thank you sm!! i love you
knee socks – cl16
There’s a certain inevitability that comes with having sex with a misaligned, conceited lead guitarist of a band. You aren’t aware of this fact until it hits you in-between your brows with the force of an 18-wheeler truck, at 8AM, through the radio in your car.
genre: drabble... lots of smutty allusions
auds here... happy birthday anon, one month and then some later! to be completely honest i almost deleted this... but through some twist of fate, it was the only thing i could bully into completion lol (aside frm long form fics that i'm still working on) this is 1000% for u and i hope u accept it as a belated bday gift :) i agree btw! id love to see more au fics but it is still nice reading the canon compliant type ones hahah. also the song in this and its and title is of course from this
It was surprising enough to hear an announcement of a new single by The Incident, one that seemingly sprouted out of nowhere, sans promotion. The morning BBC show clobbered the song with theories before finally letting the drawled-out, sticky guitar filter through and into your car. That in itself was odd, sure. Maybe shocking a little. But you leaned into the leather seat and remained quiet.
When you were fifteen, you were convinced the lyrics to Hall & Oates’ “Rich Girl” pinned up perfectly to your (insufferable) personality of the time. Raised in a big family and working in a career of refined prestige, your budding skill and already-cemented name in the modeling industry were just two small indicators of your parents’ massive wealth. Of course, neither Hall nor Oates were actually sitting and writing songs and singing about you—you just found it made sense in one way or another.
That was three years before you met Charles three years ago, at a pub in Soho. His band had only just spilled out of the confines of Soundcloud and seedy managers; they’d broken five million monthly listeners and the throng of people were there to watch them live. You were at the pub for a pint with another friend and left him with your number, a slip of paper tinged with beer; he fished out the nearest surface you could write on from a nearby bowl. Do I Wanna Know? it read in rushed cursive. It was a song request that went unfulfilled.
Rumors flew in your circle. Your father soured at the idea of you seeing somebody he wasn’t actively doing business with, but he failed to realize how limited your dating pool would be if you followed his wishes. Your interactions with the Formula One men he sponsored or worked with, however few and far between, were rancid and impolite. The drivers wore expensive brands, ones that didn’t even fall familiar on people’s ears, but refused to tip beyond three pounds. It came as both a shock and no surprise that the nouveau rich rock singer treated you with more decency than any of them did.
He was shy about it first, knowing how filthy rich you were. He made jokes about how his flat could fit in your kitchen twice over. He spoke what little French he remembered from childhood to impress you, paid for takeout, wore Lacoste when he came over to drink—then fuck—because it was, at the time, the most decent brand he owned. It’d been January when he came over, caught a sight of you at the foyer with all your expensive coats hung up. Your tongue was blue with a lozenge. It was the only thing he could look at while fucking you.
He wore a light blue variant once, fit and snug on him. You wrestled it off him in-between hot, sweet kisses, kept it on your bed so it’d be the first thing you tugged on in the morning before a shoot for a brand you can no longer place.
The last time you saw him he’d shown you lyrics, sang them aloud, drummed the beat he thought of on the skin of your thigh. His accent disappeared into rasp and notes. You told him to perform it live and he fucked you splayed up against your door, bent over your counter, then with your knees pressed to your chest on your white sheets, warm from the laundry. S’good for me, aren’t you, princess? All for me. My filthy girl.
Two hours later: I’m going on tour, sweetheart, he’d said while he cleaned you up.
’Til? Or… like, for long? Naked, you wrapped your blanket around your frame.
Ah, oui. For a while.
You failed to answer amicably, your eyebrows twisting. You didn’t think to tell me? Just up and leave then? No number, no text, no announcement, just— You exhaled tightly. You knew he didn’t owe you anything of the sort; the sex, you guessed, the company had been so good you’d deluded yourself into thinking so.
Kitten—
Don’t call me that, you huffed, angrier now. Petulant. You got up and crowded him ’til you got to the door. Get the fuck out.
You watched him leave, brown leather jacket and black tee disappearing into London, and wrenched memories of him from the depths of your brain, the two years of your back and forth rendezvous. You wondered why you didn’t get a song in that time, after his ascent to fame, after the release of other hit singles inspired by his bandmates’ gossip rags and measly shags.
So a year later, when the memories have just begun to purge themselves—when the lyrics, which already have sent a swoop through your stomach, progress into the line When you walked around your house wearin' my sky blue Lacoste… and your knee socks, you effectively choke on your a.m. cappucino. It’s like “Rich Girl” all over again, but this is overt, it’s targeted. Like whoever wrote it must’ve known you’d be listening right now, en route to a shoot at eight in the morning.
“All good, miss?” Ed, your chauffeur, meets your eyes in the rearview, concerned.
“Perf—” your voice cracks. “Perfect.”
You screw your eyes shut and try to collect yourself, zeroing in on the lyrics that’d been foggy before.
Curing his January blues—the month you two started sleeping together. The fact that he’d had your number, a famous stranger, before you had his. Every beat, every word, every deep-voiced lyric traces back to you (unless, of course, he’s busying himself shagging any other girl in London on rainy Tuesdays and letting her wear his now-old polos. The thought sends a pang of jealousy through you.)
But you know better. You know you’re the only one.
Because your phone’s the only one buzzing late into the damp night—when the zeroes line up on the clock by your bed, the one he fixed up for you—with a number you’ve removed the name of, blocked at some point, but can still memorize in his absence.
Maybe tonight you’ll pick up.

May i request a Human Alastor x Gn Detective Reader? where reader is a threat to his killings and is unaware that al is the serial killer
Tumblr media
Alastor x Reader -
New Orleans Noir
Details: Human!Alastor x GN!Detective!Reader Warnings: Talk of murder, alcohol, Alastor thinks about killing you Author's note: Thanks for the request! This is my first piece of writing in ages, I hope it's up to par. Sorry there's not too much romance, but I was getting more of a noir film vibe from the request, along with a little angst potential. Not beta read <3 Word Count: 1.562
You had been investigating the infamous New Orleans serial killer for months with no proper leads. Whoever the killer was, they were too meticulous to leave behind any incriminating evidence, or anything at all for that matter. You were frustrated beyond belief and were drowning your irritations in a glass of whiskey at the bar, when the voice of a local radio show host caught your attention. It wasn’t really his voice that captured you, it was his report on the murders…his very detailed report.
You suspected that this radio personality had some kind of inside information. It didn’t take long for you to arrange a date at a diner to talk, or rather to interrogate him.
What you didn’t expect was for this radio host, Alastor, to be exceptionally charming and pleasant to talk to. Several times he managed to steer the conversation away from your case, but you always managed to catch yourself and return to the topic at hand.
This first meeting was just the beginning of what would become one of your biggest lessons.
--
Alastor knew he was toeing the line by broadcasting news about his own killings. But it excited him. He had the whole town wrapped around his finger, captivated by his stories. None the wiser they were listening to the killer himself. A flock of sheep swaying to a wolf's song.
Still he was surprised when a detective demanded a meeting with him. Not that it was a problem. He could easily manipulate them into turning their attentions elsewhere.
But this detective was stubborn. Alastor realized he wasn’t going to get them off his case and decided on a different strategy. What’s the saying? Keep your friends close. Keep your enemies closer.
--
In the end, you settled on a deal. Any and all info Alastor received from his “sources”, he reported directly to you before broadcasting them. Of course Alastor didn’t demand anything in return. After all, what law-abiding citizen wouldn’t immediately jump at the chance to help his community?
You started to meet weekly. Most weeks he didn’t have anything new, and even when he did, you couldn’t really do much with the information. Rumors about enemies the victims might have had or hear-say about what the killer might look like, but nothing of substance.
Weekly meetings turned into daily lunch breaks, and daily lunch breaks led to relaxed evenings at the bar. He was charming, ever the gentleman and he shared your taste in music. Before long you couldn’t deny the bubbling feelings in your chest any longer, but it would be unprofessional to start anything as long as the case was still open. Too dangerous to drag him into this mess even more than you already had. So you kept quiet, enjoying his company, murder-related or not.
Just like tonight. You’d met at a restaurant close to the radio station Alastor worked at. It had become one of your common meeting spots after Alastor recommended it for a good steak and cheap drinks. Although at the moment, you couldn’t enjoy either.
“What’s with the long face, my dear?” Alastor asked with that dashing smile he always sported. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was mocking you with it.
“Take a guess.” You said while downing your drink, gesturing to the waiter for another one.
“Ah yes, the body they found.” Alastor cut into his bloody steak. You couldn’t even muster the appetite to touch your own plate.  “I assume your work day has been quite stressful, hmm?”
“Stressful doesn’t even cut it, Al! I feel…” You stopped to regain your composure, your sour mood almost had you yelling in a public space. Can’t have that.
“People are dying on my watch. Everyone is relying on me to catch this bastard and I’m letting them all down. I feel so fucking useless.” You said eventually, in defeat.
Alastor took a bite while studying your face. That unreadable smile still on his face.
“Don’t beat yourself up over it, Y/N. Perhaps it’s time for you to take a break. A fresh mind might lead to fresh revelations.” He said in his sing-song voice, apparently not nearly as bothered as you.
You looked at him like he said the stupidest thing you’d ever heard.
“Al, there’s people that are dying.”
“You’re not the only detective in town.”
“I’m the only one with an informant. Although none of your tips have lead me anywhere!” You hissed. He continued to stare at you with his never wavering smile, and you immediately felt guilty for your outburst.
“I'm sorry, I know you’re just trying to help.” You said while rubbing your forehead.
These past few nights had been terrible. You barely slept at all and your nerves had been about to snap all day. You sighed in relief when the waiter arrived with your drink. You gave an appreciative nod before taking a sip.
“No offense taken, Detective. It’s evident you’re passionate about this investigation and I’m sure the whole town can sleep better knowing you’re on the case. No one wants a serial killer sneaking about their neighborhood.” He said in a light-hearted tone while cutting into his steak once more.
That reminded you. Your head snapped up and you looked at him wide-eyed, reaching a hand out to him.
“Al, your neighborhood. I completely forgot to tell you! We’ve compared the areas the bodies were found in and we were able to narrow down the general location of the killer to your neighborhood.”
He stopped mid-cut.
“Did you now?”
You put your hand on his forearm and he looked up at you with his piercing eyes. A gaze you’ve come to grow quite fond of during your time together.
“This is not public information, I’m telling you this as…a friend. Be careful out there.”
You said, real worry in your voice and on your face. Alastor gave you a soft smile in return, although his eyes held something different. Probably from the shock.
“Of course, my dear. I would suggest you be careful as well. Your job is much more dangerous than mine and I’d hate if anything happened to you.”
He finally took his bite, never breaking eye contact.
--
Alastor knew the best course of action would be to kill them.
They were getting close. Too close for his liking anyway. In the beginning it had been amusing, handing out false information, throwing red-herrings and leading the detective on a wild-goose chase around town. His personal game of chess, with his opponent not even aware they were playing.
But he couldn’t deny Y/N was a real threat. They were intelligent, cunning and witty. Pleasant company, yes. But also dead-set on catching the killer. And their latest revelation only solidified what Alastor knew was coming. One of them would have to go.
Now back in his apartment, he leaned back in his armchair and got to planning.
It would be quite easy, he assumed. He’d lure them to a secluded location with the promise of a new lead. Perhaps he’d tell them they would be meeting with one of his “sources”. It wouldn’t even be that big of a lie.
The detective trusted him, he was sure. They’d turn their back to him and then…
Alastor shuddered.
Normally the thought of killing someone was exciting. But the detective was a different story. He hadn’t expected to take a genuine liking to them when they began their little collaboration. But then he started to look forward to their meetings. And after months of shared dinners and drinks they had managed to capture Alastor in a way few people had managed to before.
They were an equal to him.
Perhaps them being a real threat played a part in Alastor’s hesitation. The game they were playing brought him joy. Sometimes even motivating him to go for a new kill. Anything to get his detective’s attention once more.
Then there was the other reason. Most of his victims really deserved to die. Sure, maybe it wasn’t Alastor’s place to judge, but he wasn’t wrong. The detective however…
They were good. Righteous. Willing to risk their life for the safety of the city. In some ways Alastor thought they were stupid for it. But he couldn’t help but find it endearing as well. Their blood-shot eyes after yet another all-nighter were pathetic, but he couldn’t look away. Their rambling about theories both annoyed and intrigued him at the same time.
He couldn’t get a grip on his feelings. The thought of killing them unnerved him, but the thought of being caught was simply unacceptable.
He got up, now frustrated. Perhaps he needed to let off some steam. Clear his head and then make a proper plan. Maybe he didn’t need to kill the detective. There could be other ways. He could frame someone else and then lay low for a while. Continue his killing somewhere else. Or have something happen that rendered the detective…unfit for work. He’d figure something out when he returned.
For now, he needed to focus on his next victim. Some abusive asshole he knew would be at a bar on the other end of town. He had him picked out for weeks already and knew his routines. Just a simple kill to get his nerves under control.
A shame he didn’t know it would be his last.

Could you please write a Velvet x reader where like the reader is also a famous pop star 😭🙏 take as much time as you need!
A/N ~ Sure! I’m burnt out from writing one shots, so I decided to do headcanons. I hope that’s okay! This also kinda has a love story at the beginning lol, I just couldn’t help myself. I had so much fun writing this.
~Velvet with a Pop Star S/O~
Fandom: Trolls 3: Band Together
Reader: Gender Neutral
Relationship: Romantic
Warnings: Jealousy(Velvet), rivalry(Velvet and Reader)
Tumblr media
~ Velvet used to hate you. She despised you. She wanted to be the number one star, but you were giving her a run for her money. She would make little jabs about you in interviews, and would turn off the radio if one of your songs ever dared to reach her ears.
~ But her hate for you soon turned into interest. One of your songs was trending, and she kept hearing it over and over again. She thought she’d go insane. But the song started growing on her. She became amazed by your choice of lyrics and your singing style. But none of that mattered to her. You were her rival. She couldn’t become a fan.
~ It wasn’t until you and Velvet eventually got to meet that she started to like you. You were so kind, but still fully committed to being her rival. She was amazed by you.
~ You guys had many more interactions, and even followed each other online. Your guys’s friendship and rivalry caught the attention of many of your fans, causing them to start shipping the two of you. Velvet thought it was ridiculous.
That was until you asked her out.
~ She thought you were joking, but you were dead serious. And Velvet realized that so were her feelings for you. So you two started going out, much to your fans’s delight.
~ You guys are still very much rivals, but it’s all in good fun. You congratulate each other when one of your songs beats the other’s in popularity. The loser jokes about beating the winner next time, while the winner earns bragging rights.
~ Velvet expects you to attend all of her shows, and in return, attends all of yours. She prepares a special spot for you that has the best view of the stage. She takes every chance she gets to blow you a kiss or give you a wink from the stage.
~ Velvet secretly wants to have a shared concert with you. Singing with you on the same stage is one of her dreams. Bonus: it would also ring in a lot of money.
~ She loves posting pictures of the two of you on social media. Your guys’s fans love it too. They eat it up every time.
~ Speaking of your fans, they’re obsessed with your relationship. The rivals to friends to lovers story is just too good. There’s always at least one person at one of your guys’s concerts that holds up a sign with your ship name on it. Velvet loves it.
~ She secretly has a few love songs written about you. But she’s too embarrassed to release them. If you ever write one about her though, she’ll love it. It will forever be her favorite song. She’ll even make it her ringtone.
~ Over all, your relationship is really sweet and fun.

“I’m going to have so much fun with you.”
This really got away from me. Roughly 2220 words. Pre-relationship/implied getting together Steve/Eddie fluff, Steve’s bad parents briefly mentioned.
Steve was always around when people were having fun.
He was a permanent fixture in the background at trips to the arcade, days at the quarry, trips to the city. Steve was always there. The kids would practically be chanting his name on the drive home from whatever excursion they all went on, grateful that he was there to let them have all the fun they wanted. Nancy and Robin would each link one of his arms and stroll along, chattering quickly about their newest favourite movie or the amazing song they heard on the radio before he untangled himself and let them walk together. Jon and Argyle would laugh softly between themselves and call him “super Steve”, trying to ruffle his hair before he slipped away to let them enjoy their haze in peace.
No one ever noticed that Steve wasn’t having any fun. His shoulders were locked in a stiff line. His smile never quite reached his eyes. Stephen Harrington Senior’s words echoed across his memory every time he felt himself on the cusp of laughing a little too loud.
“Don’t make such a fool of yourself, laughing and like an idiot! Get it together and act like a real man. Sit up straight, stay serious,”
Steve had stopped asking for birthday parties after that year.
He loved seeing his friends losing themselves into a fit of hysterics. Loved watching their faces turn red as breathless laughs bubbled out of them. It made him want to lose himself in the moment right there with them, but he could never quite shake off the thought of what if Dad finds out?
But no one noticed.
Well, at least until Eddie Munson started paying attention.
Steve found it harder to hang back and linger on the sidelines whenever Eddie was around. He’d always find himself being dragged right up beside the rest of the group, unable to fade off to the edge of everyone’s peripheral vision. His skin itched every time but purposely removing himself after it happened would be obvious. Steve didn’t want to explain to his friends that he was too embarrassed to enjoy himself because his mommy and daddy might think it was in poor taste.
Still, Eddie saw.
Eddie would grab his elbow and pull him off to the side if Steve’s inability to hold a real smile started to creep up on him. Close enough to everyone else to not raise suspicion, far enough away that the hairs on the back of Steve’s neck laid flat again. It was a loose routine that turned rinse-and-repeat of Eddie pulling Steve right into the middle of the action, and then taking him back out again. Anyone else and Steve might have fought back. He might have demanded it stop, say it made him uncomfortable, he might have even picked up his car keys and gone home.
Steve couldn’t put into words exactly why he let Eddie do it, but the feeling that rolled through his stomach when Eddie would pat him on the shoulder and say Loosen Up, You Might Like It kept him from pushing back.
-
Steve pulled up at Eddie’s trailer at nine sharp, ready to bring the Hellfire gang home after a long session. Usually he would hear them from outside, loudly rambling about spells and dice and classes and all manner of things. Tonight though, Steve heard nothing when he knocked on the door.
“Hey Stevie,” said Eddie, swinging the door open.
“Where, uh, where is everyone?” asked Steve with a furrowed brow, looking behind Eddie and into a very empty living space.
“Cancelled the game,” Eddie shrugged, grabbing his jacket off the back of the door. “Come on, let’s go,”
Steve found himself being pushed backwards down the steps, mouth open in annoyed confusion.
“Cancelled? What?” he protested. “Why didn’t they tell me? I could have made plans, Ed-“
“Steve?” interrupted Eddie, a smile pulling at his lips. “Shut the fuck up, ‘kay?”
Steve made a noise as if to talk back but Eddie just waved a finger in front of his face before gesturing for him to follow.
They didn’t speak during the short walk to the back half of the trailer park but it wasn’t exactly quiet. A local football team had won a game earlier in the evening and the residents were either celebrating wins or drowning sorrows of a loss. Steve loved the buzz of the community in Forest Hills, even if it reminded him how suffocating life in Loch Nora was. Sometimes he let his mind wander and created a fantasy life, where he drove back here after a days work and Eddie greeted him at the door with a smile and a kiss.
Eddie led Steve just beyond the homes that littered the park and to a small clearing just off the path.
“Alright, alright, alright!” exclaimed Eddie, clapping his hands and gesturing to what was laid out on the ground in front of them. “You wanna be blue or red?”
In the dim light of the summer evening, Steve realised he was looking at of a game of cornhole, set up and ready to go.
“Too late,” said Eddie quickly, snatching a red beanbag from the grass. “I’m red, snooze you lose,”
Eddie tossed his ammo at the board, hitting the centre hole and just barely brushing the edge. Steve wondered why he was never scouted for basketball in highschool. It was a great shot.
“Oh yeah!” yelled Eddie, lifting his knees high as he ran a small victory lap around Steve. “Beat that, Harrington!”
Steve glanced back at the closest trailers, wondering if Eddie’s shouting was disturbing then. He was still unsure why exactly he was playing a game instead of driving people home, but when no one opened a door to tell them to pipe down, he scooped up a blue beanbag and aimed.
“Uh, yeah, ok…” he mumbled, lining up the shot.
It went in with ease, not even touching the sides.
“Beat it,” said Steve with a shrug.
Eddie balked and spun around dramatically, putting his hands in his hair. He stopped abruptly mid turn, legs still crossed around themselves, and glared at Steve.
“You’re not celebrating,” said Eddie. It wasn’t a question.
“Oh, I, yeah,” stuttered Steve before punching the air. “Got it, alrightttt,”
“That was terrible,” groaned Eddie, shaking his head and going to retrieve the beanbags.
They played a few more rounds before Steve asked again why he was here.
“You’re telling me driving a bunch of kids back home would be more fun that this?” teased Eddie.
“No! No, sorry, thats…” Steve sighed. “I just don’t know what’s going on, you know? This wasn’t exactly what I thought my night was going to look like,”
“And what was it going to look like?” asked Eddie.
Like a microwave dinner and bed before ten. Like lying awake until the sun came up wondering if Eddie was sleeping or up all night drawing. Like wishing he was doing exactly this.
“I don’t know,” lied Steve.
“You’re not enjoying it?” asked Eddie, firing another beanbag right into the target. “Fuck yeah! I’m on god damn fire tonight,”
Steve looked around again, expecting to see people glaring at the from their windows.
“I am, I am,” said Steve quickly. “Just don’t want your neighbours to come yell at us for the noise, that’s all,”
Steve tried to smile but it felt like more of a grimace.
“Yeah,” said Eddie with a heavy sigh, taking Steve’s beanbag and throwing that too. “Figured that was it,”
“Hey, that was mine,” started Steve. “Wait, you…what?”
“You don’t make a lot of noise, Steve,” said Eddie. “I can see it fucking bursting out of you sometimes but you keep it all wrapped up in there,”
Eddie tapped Steve’s chest.
“Thought for a while you didn’t feel included,” continued Eddie, swinging his arms as he retrieved the beanbags once more. “But then, that wasn’t it either so…”
“So?” asked Steve, folding his arms and feeling slightly defensive.
“So I remembered what Wayne told me once about the street you live on,” explained Eddie. “Said no matter how many times he fixed a car on someone’s driveway, spent a day nailing tiles to a roof… He never once heard a kid playing,”
“That’s not true!” Steve said automatically.
But it was. Children were to be seen and not heard and if you couldn’t play quietly then you couldn’t play at all. Steve read a lot of books in his childhood until he learned to be quiet.
Eddie hummed and lined up another shot, holding the blue beanbag up to thrown.
“I’m the blue one,” Steve told him.
“What?”
“You’re red,” said Steve.
“Sorry, can’t hear you,” shrugged Eddie, throwing the blue bag.
Steve let out an involuntary noise of indignation before clapping a hand over his mouth. It was louder than any noise he’d made in months.
“Oh?” asked Eddie, smiling wide. “Was there something you needed to say?”
“You threw my bag!” said Steve in a stage whisper, checking around again to make sure he hadn’t disturbed the neighbours.
“You’ll have to speak up!” yelled Eddie, holding a hand to his ear.
“Eddie, I’m not-“ Steve scrunched his face up and kissed his teeth. “I don’t know why it bothers you so much. I’m quiet, okay, that’s it, that’s all,”
“Oh, it doesn’t bother me,” said Eddie easily. “But the way it bothers you is kind of difficult to watch,”
Eddie turned to face away from the target and threw the red beanbag over his shoulder, missing the hole in spectacular fashion.
“Ha!” The laugh was out of Steve’s mouth before he could stop it and he cringed again.
“Steve, look, listen, okay?” said Eddie, coming to stand in front of Steve. “Listen to what’s happening around you,”
Steve could hear football fans still partying. Dogs barking. Children screeching at the park’s nearby playground while their parents called for them to come in from the dark.
Eddie put his hands on Steve’s biceps and shook him gently.
“Life is loud sometimes,” Eddie told him earnestly, squeezing his arms. “This place is loud. The world is loud. You are allowed to be loud, sweetheart,”
Steve’s heart skipped at the nickname.
“I don’t think I am,” said Steve softly. The moonlight lit up Eddie’s eyes as he watched Steve closely.
“Have I ever lied to you?” asked Eddie.
“Yes,” answered Steve.
“In a way that mattered,” said Eddie, rolling his eyes. “The kids will ready to leave in ten minutes doesn’t count. What I mean is… Okay, so put it this way,” Eddie voice fell to a soft murmer. “I’m telling you, promising you, that you can make as much noise as you want. And no matter what anybody else in the entire world might think or say, I’ll be right there beside you, being even louder. Because you need to know that it’s okay to make noise and be heard, Steve,”
Steve was struck by Eddie’s sincerity. Part of him wanted to laugh at the implication of them being loud together and he could tell Eddie did too, but he was too caught up in realising how close Eddie had gotten while he spoke. The toes of their sneakers were pressed together and Steve could smell the last cigarette on his breath. The softness of his voice in contrast to the promise of noise, making it sound like almost a secret between them.
“You will?” whispered Steve.
Eddie moved back and went to stand by the target. He threw the beanbags to Steve and pointed down to the bullseye.
“How many points do you want for a direct hit?” asked Eddie loudly.
“Uh…fifty?” said Steve, unsure of the sudden change of subject.
“Can’t hear you,” called Eddie, louder again.
Steve felt a laugh start to rumble in his chest as he caught up to what Eddie was doing. He looked at Eddie, waiting with raised eyebrows for a response, and fought the urge to dampen it.
“Fifty!” said Steve, forcing his volume up.
Eddie’s smile grew.
“One more time?” he said, even louder now.
Steve let the laugh out.
“I said seventy five!” yelled Steve, throwing his beanbag.
It sailed through the hole dead-on. Steve rolled his head around on shoulders and closed his eyes, before throwing his arms up and whooping. He spun around and laughed up towards the sky.
“Are you sure you said seventy five?” teased Eddie as he came back to Steve’s side.
“How do you know I didn’t say a hundred?” countered Steve playfully.
The laughter between them died down slowly, leaving them watching each others faces with leftover soft smiles. Eddie put a hand on Steve’s shoulder, right at the juncture his neck.
“It’s fun, right?” asked Eddie gently, his thumb stroking along the bare skin at the edge of Steve’s t shirt.
Steve leaned into the touch, the tips of his fingers buzzing to reach out and touch Eddie right back.
“Fun, yeah,” repeated Steve, grabbing the bottom of Eddie’s jacket and just holding it.
Eddie held up the remaining beanbag in his hand.
“Wanna do it again?” he asked, shaking the bag. “Keep this fun train rolling?”
Steve smiled.
“I’m going to have so much fun with you,” said Steve. “I can tell,”
