dude. that reverse bnf fic sounds SO fucking good… the ideas u have cooking up in there… i’m excited just thinking abt it ASKFNKF
YAAAS THANK YOU
i had more thoughts today... thinkin of the ask i got about the "i'll always know the stain was there" scene and how i've never written that before. which. ofc. turned into more ace porn.
Aziraphale spills wine on himself at Crowley’s place. He’s resigned to throw the shirt away. Crowley, Mr minimalist clean freak, rolls his eyes and takes charge of cleaning it off. Aziraphale hesitates then takes his undershirt off too, and Crowley bluescreens. Aziraphale half-asks him, “I’d hate for it to be stained too. It might be an undershirt, but I’d always know the stain was there.” Crowley takes it as well, leaving Aziraphale shirtless in his house.
While they sit around and he scrubs on his homemade stain remover, Aziraphale sits a little shyly, clearly affected. His nipples are hard. Crowley gathers the courage to ask him if it turns him on. “What, you cleaning??” “No. Being exposed like that. The air on your skin.” Aziraphale hesitates because he thinks Crowley is calling him out on some kind of abnormal kink or fetish, so he deflects, “Is that some ace thing as well?” not expecting Crowley to say yes. Crowley sits next to him.
“For me anyway. It’s not the person who turns me on, it’s the touch. So, sometimes, that touch comes from unexpected places. Cold tile on my skin after a shower. Satin sheets.” Aziraphale noticeably shivers.
“S’why I like, personally… Being teased. Light touches; Chasing after it. That anticipation adds to the sensation.” He grazes a hand over Aziraphale’s bare arm and Aziraphale gasps. Crowley laughs at him.
“Ffs. No wonder you struggle getting off if you’re watching the same porn everyone else does. Probably Google Imaging boring old pin ups of girls in fancy bras—“ Aziraphale gives him a LOOK, so Crowley adjusts, “—Or, Boys in skimpy briefs. What good’s that going to do if you can’t imagine how they’d touch you?”
Aziraphale is momentarily perplexed. “You know, I can’t think the last time anyone assumed me anything other than flamingly gay,” but it somehow doesn’t feel avoidant of the topic, he’s just so caught off guard by it.
Crowley’s suddenly a little annoyed, mostly at The World, but a little bit creeps in towards Aziraphale. “Assuming doesn’t help anyone. It only gets people confused about the boxes they’re meant to fit into. Bloody useless things, boxers. Er, boxes.”
His fingers have been dragging idly up and down Aziraphale’s thigh the whole conversation.
He stops when he realises Aziraphale’s hands are strategically placed in his lap. Crowley stops. Apologises, didn’t realise what an effect he was having, he just wanted to make a point—
But Aziraphale hasn’t felt like this in such a long time. He’s worked himself off, but nothing’s compared to this feeling of anticipation and bone deep arousal. He somehow finds the words to ask if Crowley would keep going. Show him what kind of touches he likes, maybe it would be informative. Crowley gets him off on the sofa, teasing and working him to a climax that has him death gripping Crowley’s arm and whimpering into his neck.
-------
Later, hours or days later, Aziraphale is watching Crowley move around the house, maybe in his pants or a towel or something, but being totally innocuous. As innocuous as Aziraphale’s voice when he pipes up, completely unprompted, “I don’t think I’m asexual, Crowley.”
“This again?” Crowley’s exasperation is fond.
“No. Sometimes the sight of you makes me want to… Pin you against a wall or something.”
Crowley freezes, a mental ngk that takes a few minutes to reboot him. He tries and fails to sound casual and unaffected when he says “Maybe you’re demi,” and keeps folding his laundry like Aziraphale hasn’t just shoved a hot poker into his brain.
“Mmm,” Aziraphale agrees, even though Crowley knows he doesn’t know what that means, but he’s too busy leching to follow up and ask.

Candyland
Rockstar! (ish) Eddie Munson x AFAB! Bar Dancer Reader
Cherry Pie is always the inspiration for some absolute filth. Reader works at a Coyote Ugly type bar - you'll find out, it's hard for me to describe this one. Because I suck.
Warnings: Explicit language, explicit sexual content, oral sex (m receiving), p in v sex, suggestive content with the dancing?
The R-Bar, Chicago - 1991
Eddie is sweating his nutsack off, fingers red raw from shredding for almost two hours, voice sore and crackling. The mediocre applause that follows him off the small stage with the rest of the band hardly seems worth the pain. He snags a water bottle from a beat up trestle table, chugging it in relief as their manager Lambshank approaches; so named because he got shanked in prison with a lamb bone, true story.
“That was a killer set guys, great work, the crowd loved you!” He hails with so much bravado it verges on sarcasm.
“Yeah, all fourteen of them.” Eddie deadpans.
“I counted seventeen.” Jeff wryly supplies with a rough croak, finishing off his own bottle of water.
“Alright, it wasn’t the biggest crowd, granted, but everyone has to start somewhere.” Lambshank reasons.
“Yeah, but we started this group eleven years ago, Shank.” Eddie huffs, he knew the rockstar dream wouldn’t be an easy one to achieve but he thought after graduating and being able to pour all his time and what little money he had into the band they’d be playing bigger and better venues by now.
He was fed up, every place was like The Hideout back home, filled with drunks, and sticky floors.  They did have a couple of genuine fans, who they appreciated even if they were slightly over-zealous in their affections; Gareth had never quite been the same since Luann, the forty-seven year old divorcee, threw her FF bra directly at his face mid-show.
“You fellas need a fun night out, get yourselves pumped up again and I know just the place.” Lambshank says bracingly, working his fists back and forth like a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robot. Eddie scrubs at his tired sweaty face, pushing his hair out of his eyes, wanting nothing more than to shower and go to bed, god he was getting old.
“Shank I don’t need a night out, I need to get some sleep.”
“Eddie, I promise you, you’ll enjoy it - and the first round of drinks are on me.” Shank offers teasingly.
_______________________________________________
“Candyland?” Gareth asks, reading the pink neon sign aloud as they all stand outside a rather nondescript looking building, the loud heavy bass thumping of music the only indicator there might be something going on inside.
“Candyland.” Lambshank affirms with a grin, gesturing towards the heavy door in front of them, a burly and surly looking doorman giving Lambshank a curt nod letting the group in.
It’s a cacophony of noise, and flashing lights, the place is packed to the rafters, the smell of stale beer and sweat heavy in the air. But it’s the movement from the bar area that catches Eddie’s eye, a group of women all around his age in various states of undress, dancing and grinding along to No Sleep Till Brooklyn - Beastie Boys, they also appear to be serving drinks.
“Welcome to Candyland boys!” Lambshank laughs, patting Eddie heavily on the back.
It’s certainly a show, the girls are laughing and screaming things out, men and women on the floor crowded up to the raised surface cheering loudly, throwing money, and generally having the time of their lives.
The song finishes up, and the bar girls all jump down to be replaced by an older looking blonde woman with a microphone in her hand.
“Candyland, how are we doing tonight?!” She yells, to a deafening cheer. “C’mon I know you can do better than that, I said HOW ARE WE DOING TONIGHT?” She corrals with a fist to the air.
The bar shouts back in unison, even Eddie finds himself wanting to join in.
“That’s what I like to hear.” She laughs throatily. “Now I want you to give it up, and by that I mean your hard earned dollars, for our girl JETT!”
I Love Rock ‘N Roll - Joan Jett starts up, along with a raucous cheer from the crowd as girl jumps up onto the bar in black PVC booty shorts, a ripped white crop top, black bra visible underneath and black high-top converse, her back is to everyone as she claps her hands and stamps along to the beat, Eddie tears his eyes away trying to work out the best route to the bar in order to actually get a drink when Gareth starts tugging hard on his arm.
“Jeez man what?” Eddie huffs in irritation, Gareth points dumbly back towards the bar, mouth hanging open, Eddie looks again and feels his own jaw drop.
“Holy shit it’s -” Jeff breathes, the girl is finally facing the crowd, throwing her body back and forth, a huge smile plastered across her pretty face.
“Y/n -” Eddie finishes his sentence with a gulp.
Eddie hadn’t seen you since graduation, but it was definitely you, despite your get up and apparent new found sense of confidence there was no mistaking your face. You had been something of a shrinking violet at High School, choosing to hang out with Eddie and the gang as they didn’t mind that you were painfully shy and preferred books to conversation, and whilst you had never been a fully fledged member of Hellfire you sometimes took part in the occasional campaign if they were short and Eddie coaxed you enough.
It didn’t seem you needed to be coaxed into doing anything anymore though as you gyrated on the platform, hooking your leg and arm around a pole between the bar top and ceiling, spinning about seductively. You headbang slightly, before dropping low to grab a handful of dollars from a howling man, one of the girls behind the bar passes you up a bottle of vodka and you expertly pour a shot into the man’s open mouth. As the song fades out, some of the other girls jump back up to join you, the vodka bottle in your hand being swapped for the microphone.
“Good evening Candyland.” You purr slightly out of breath, laughing loudly at the tumultuous response. “Life is sweet, but you know what? It could be a little sweeter, so how about we pour a little sugar on you?” You ask suggestively, throwing your arms up as Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard rings out.
Eddie doesn’t know where to look, well he knows exactly where he wants to look but he doesn’t know if he should. You’re back to back with one of the other girls, both winding down to your knees, you crawl across the bar and Eddie finds himself standing tiptoes to follow your progress. You lay on your back, arching upwards, so your chest is on display, while a redhead girl in Daisy dukes wets your body with the seltzer tap. You screech wildly, shaking your head allowing the liquid to splash the front row, Eddie thinks he might pass out as the blood thunders down from his brain to his cock.
You move back up into a kneel, taking the tap and spraying it into the raucous crowd, whilst necking a beer you’ve taken off of someone. You and the rest of the girls line up, all bending sideways so you’re grabbing the ass of the other, spanking in time to the music, before shaking your legs so the muscles bounce and jiggle.
“This is insane.” Gareth says weakly next to Eddie, and he has to agree. You straighten up, spinning around the pole once again until you’re head on staring at Eddie and the group, a wide beaming smile of recognition breaking across your face. You seem to be dancing with even more enthusiasm now you’ve clocked your old school friends, hands running over your own form, as you strut up and down the platform. The redhead from before has a bottle of whiskey in her hand which she pours on her chest with a subtle nod to you, you lean in and lick the gold liquid from her skin, to rapturous hoots and hollers, tracing your tongue up her neck until you meet her mouth; Eddie notices more dollar bills clutched in your hands as you pull away.
The song comes to an end, and you instantly jump down into the crowd, pushing patrons out of your way, practically racing towards the band.
“OH MY GOD, HI!” You shout excitedly, barrelling straight into Eddie first, he barely has time to snap out of his funk and embrace you back before you're pulling away to address the others. You’re flushed with exertion, but to him you’ve never looked prettier.
“Gareth, Jeff!” You hail, bringing each of them in for their own hug, Eddie having to fight down a sudden surge of jealousy.
“Y/n! What the hell man?!” Gareth greets you with a laugh, gesturing to the hive of activity still taking place on the bar behind you.
“Girl’s gotta make a living, ya know.” You tease, punching him lightly in the arm. “It’s my Aunt’s place, she’s the blonde one up there.” You point to the older woman who revved up the crowd earlier, she’s currently pouring a row of shots, but all the while keeping an eye on her girls, including you.
“What are you guys doing here?” You ask casually, like you’re not standing in front of them scantily clad, and the source of their awkward crotch covered stances.
“We’re on tour.” Jeff supplies.
“Holy shit - that’s so cool, where are you playing?” Eddie wants to answer you, but your devastating smile is making his brain short circuit.
“They played the R-Bar tonight. Lambshank, manager extraordinaire and long time patron of Candyland.” Lambshank butts in, offering his hand in greeting, you shake it and Eddie sees a slight wariness enter your expression.
“The R-Bar huh? I’d thought with how good you guys were in High School, you’d be playing bigger venues than that.” You don't say it maliciously, you seem genuinely concerned, and it sparks Eddie's brain and mouth back to life.
“We’ve been trying to but it’s not been going so well.” Eddie says quietly, and you nod in understanding.
“Where are you guys playing next?” You ask with interest.
“We’re at the R-Bar again tomorrow night.” Gareth says, unable to keep the dismay out of his voice.
“Ok, cool, leave it with me. Drinks on the house by the way, just go see my aunt. Catch up properly at close?” You ask quickly, already backing up towards the bar, slipping under the gap and whispering in your aunt's ear as you service the clamouring groups.
Eddie's gaze is firmly fixed on your retreating form, he always had a soft spot for you through school, ok maybe crush was more accurate, although he'd play it off as a brotherly protective vibe when people had asked but what he was feeling now was far from brotherly.
"I'll get us some beers." He says not caring if the others are listening, purposely ignoring Lambshank's request for a double JD, as he makes his way through the thronging horde, with a little elbowing he eventually gets to the front.
“What can I get you handsome?” Your aunt asks him, leaning across the bar.
“Uh - four Coors Dry please.” He responds absentmindedly watching the way you’re shaking a drink at the other end of the bar, clearly flirting with every customer and doing a damn good judging by your overflowing tip jar.
“Would you prefer for my niece to serve you?” Your aunt says with a wry smile.
“Oh - uh - no sorry, just haven't seen her in a while.” Eddie stammers, slipping across a $20 bill.
“You’re Eddie right?” He nods, she smiles and it’s not too dissimilar to your own. “I'm Paula. It’s nice to finally put a face to the name. She never used to shut up about you when she was a teenager, Eddie this, Eddie that.” She laughs, pouring the beers.
“She liked me?” Eddie asks in shock, the thought makes his head spin.
“I don’t think you need to put it in the past tense hunny.” Paula grins, sliding his $20 back across the bar. “You break her heart, I’ll get Doug the Doorman to break your fingers.”
Before Eddie can respond, your voice cuts across the noise once more, you’re up on the bar again, microphone in hand.
“Alright Candylanders, it’s come to our attention that we have some very, very special guests here with us tonight -” The seductive lilt in your tone is back, commanding the attention of everyone in the room, but none more so than Eddie. “- all the way from my hometown of Hawkins, Indiana, they are the next generation of rockstars, the one, the only CORRODED COFFIN!” You bellow pointing towards where Gareth, Jeff and Lambshank are still standing.
“They’re the real deal, and they’re playing at the R-Bar tomorrow, I know - I know it's a fucking shithole." You argue back to the murmured complaints. "But here's the deal, you all go and I will reveal my very secret, very intimate tattoo at the end of their show -” You teasingly pull at the waistline of your booty shorts, before stroking your hand down over your covered mound, the crowd going wild. “- Alright you bunch of horn dogs, save it for tomorrow, now let’s get this fucking party started!” You scream, throwing the microphone down to Paula, who gives you a huge wink.
Cherry Pie - Warrant blares out of the speakers, the girls clambering up to join you once more, pitchers of water in their hands.
“ANYONE ELSE FEELING WET?” Paula shouts into the mic, as you and the rest of the girls pour the pitchers over yourselves, Eddie watches completely enthralled as the water cascades over your chest and down your legs, barely noticing how Gareth and Jeff have joined him.
You stomp over towards them, a huge smile on your face again, dropping into an impressive front split, water droplets glistening over your flushed skin.
“Hey Eddie, you want a blowjob?” You ask loudly over the music.
“Do I want a what?!” Eddie asks incredulously, half laughing, half choking on his beer.
You jump down, grabbing a shot glass, and two bottles of liquor, topping it off with some whipped cream.
“A blow job.” You present to him with a devious smirk.
Eddie throws his head back in a proper laugh, the kind of laugh you used to savour hearing through school, he moves to take the shot but you slap his hand anyway.
“Oh that’s not for you big boy, it’s for me. You need to sit right here.” You say patting the bar top, Eddie looks at you warily but hoists himself up regardless with a smile, you wink and then move to the other end of the bar, whispering something to Paula as you pass.
“Ohhhhh! Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like Jett is about to give some lucky guy a blowjob!” Paula shouts through the mic, stopping mid pour to ring a bell, Eddie’s ears hurt from the wolf whistles and stamping of feet.
Two girls, the redhead and a brunette, help get him in the correct position, legs spread with the shot in between, you get lifted onto the bar by Doug blowing a kiss to him and the gathered crowd. Sinking to your knees you stalk towards him in a slow crawl, he would never be able to listen to Smooth up in ya in the same way ever again. When you reach him, you lean in close to his ear so only he can hear you, his arm automatically coming up to steady you as you hover.
“When I touch your knee, put your hand on the back of my head, and when I touch it again let go.”
You move back, grinning from ear to ear, running your hands over his chest, down and down, fingers brushing his thighs, until you reach his knees; Eddie lifts a shaking a hand to run through your hair at the crown of your head, you wink again before arching low, ass in the air, he can see your lips wrap around the glass; he knows you must notice his raging hard on.
“SHOT, SHOT, SHOT!” The bar screams and Eddie suddenly remembers there are a hundred people watching your antics. Once you have the drink secure, you run your hands back up his legs, tapping his knee once, he lets his hand drop from your head albeit reluctantly. You throw your whole body back, chest jutting out, swallowing the shot to ear splitting cheers and clapping, letting a carefully choreographed bit of liquid spill from the side of your mouth, using your thumb to seductively chase it back to your mouth with a firm suck.
You press a quick kiss to Eddie’s lips, before standing abruptly, taking a bow.
“Can I get one of those? Please?” Gareth asks, voice strained.
_______________________________________________
The rest of the night passes in a blur of girls dancing, pounding music and alcohol but Eddie only has eyes for you. Even when Gareth gets his ‘blowjob’ from the redhead, Cherry, you’re still his focus, the way you move, how openly you laugh with the girls sharing private jokes, the way you handle yourself; fearless and so sexy.
The bar finally closes at 2am, it’s oddly quiet now the sound system is off, only the chink of glasses being collected and general chit-shit fills the air. Lambshank is chewing Paula’s ear off about management opportunities, which she seems to be responding to with good humour. Gareth is following Cherry about like a lost puppy, helping her with clearing tables, and Jeff is asleep in one of the booths, a cocktail umbrella tucked behind his ear.
You’re wiping down the bar top, a shy smile on your face, the one Eddie remembered from school, it seems the shrinking violet is still there once the music is off.
“So Eddie Munson the rockstar huh?” You say, voice a little croaky from a night of shouting and singing.
“I wouldn’t say rockstar.” Eddie murmurs, sipping at his drink.
“Is the band your only job?” You ask pointedly, spraying at a stubborn sticky spot.
“Yeah.” Eddie says, rubbing at his neck feeling self conscious.
“Well then, you’re a rockstar.” You grin softly.
“Alright ladies, you can all head home, Mr Shank here is going to help me finish up.” Paula calls, meeting your raised eyebrows with a sheepish shrug of her shoulders.
Eddie watches as Gareth attempts to rouse Jeff from his deep drunken stupor, wondering if he can manage to get him back to the hotel by himself, not quite ready to leave your side, evidently you are thinking along the same lines as you place a delicate hand on his arm.
“Shall we help get the guys back to your hotel?” You suggest gently, trying not to laugh as Jeff sinks lower into the seat trying to pull Gareth in for a spooning.
“You want to come back with me?” Eddie asks, surprised, not believing his luck.
“Yes, if that’s ok.” You say blushing profusely. “Unless you don’t want me to.” You add quickly feeling unsure of yourself.
“No! - I uh, I mean I would love for you to come back with me.” Eddie stammers, his face burning likely matching the same reddened shade as your own.
“Ok, just lemme go get changed.” You smile breathlessly.
The hotel isn’t far from the bar, and the thirty minute walk allows you and Eddie to catch up some more, sharing lingering looks and touches where you can, in between half carrying, half dragging Jeff. Gareth being absolutely no help, floating along behind slowly, waxing lyrical about how he is in love with Cherry.
“Should I tell him she’s a lesbian?” You whisper to Eddie, stifling a giggle.
“Let him have his moment whilst he’s still hammered.” Eddie laughs. “I’ll break it to him in the morning, assuming he remembers.”
Your head is swimming with all kinds of Eddie related thoughts as you try your best to concentrate on the task at hand, helping Gareth into bed, he passes out as soon as his face hits the mattress in the double room. Eddie situates a now entirely unconscious Jeff with some difficulty, before making sure they both have glasses of water and Tylenol on the bedside table ready for their no doubt horrendous hangovers.
You’re bubbling with nerves as he closes the door, but they abruptly disappear when he takes your hand, leading you down the corridor to his own room. It's small and basic but at least it’s clean.
“So - uh do you want a drink?” Eddie asks, rooting about in a plastic bag on the side. “I have slightly warm Coke or slightly warm Mountain Dew.”
“Such variety! I’ll take a slightly warm Mountain Dew please.” You laugh, perching on the end of his bed, rubbing your hands over your leggings.
“For Madame.” He passes you a can with a silly little French accent, sitting next to you with a can of Coke. “Gotta say it was one hell of a show you put on tonight sweetheart.”
You’re blushing again, shaking your head in embarrassed disagreement.
“It’s nothing special, just silly little dances and tricks, but it pays the bills, and it helps Paula out.” You say dismissively.
“I think it was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.” Eddie mutters, his leg jiggling with nerves or pent up energy, you couldn’t tell.
“C’mon Eddie, it wasn’t that good.” You mumble, thinking if your cheeks got any warmer the sprinkler system would go off.
“When you did that thing with the shot, I nearly came in my pants.” He says honestly, laughing at his own admission, it sparks something within you, the same feeling of fearlessness you experience when you’re up on the bar. You stand up, taking his drink from his hand and placing it on the windowsill with yours, kicking off your shoes and pulling down your leggings so you’re left in your panties and pink Candyland sweater.
“It would be a waste if you came in your pants Eddie, when my mouth is right here.” You whisper, sinking to your knees in front of him, praying you hadn’t misread the signals.
Eddie doesn’t give you long to worry, grabbing your face in his hands, leaning down to kiss you hard, tongue stroking into your mouth making you moan softly.
“Jesus Christ, I can’t believe this is happening.” Eddie murmurs against your lips as you unbuckle his belt, lifting his hips to help you tug his pants and boxers down. His cock slaps against his belly, long and hard, making your mouth water, you wrap your lips around him eagerly, tongue flat against the shaft as you bob up and down.
“Oh - f-fuck.” Eddie groans, hands back in your hair just like at the bar, gently guiding your movements. The room is filled with the sounds of your choking and sucking, the wet slide of your mouth over his throbbing dick, and Eddie’s whimpering gasps.
“Yes! Oh baby, your mouth feels - shit - so fucking good. Used to dream about you - fuck - used to dream about you doing t-this.” He moans, hips pistoning up to meet your open throat as you move quicker. “Can I - ah! Can I fuck you? Please sweetheart?” He begs, and it sends a surge or arousal through you.
You pull off him with a broken gasp, lips swollen and wet.
“Yes please.” You say sweetly, slightly out of breath.
Eddie’s hands are everywhere as he hauls you up from the floor, peeling your panties down, fingers tracing through your wetness whilst he kisses you deeply again.
“Condom - where the fuck did I put the fucking condoms?!” He hisses, stretching back down to retrieve his pants, you laugh peppering his neck with licks and nips.
You’re practically dripping, hovering over his cock, waiting with baited breath as he rolls the condom on, angling the hard tip to your slick opening. Both of you letting out loud moans as you sink down inch by inch, walls hugging him tightly, spasming with the stretch.
“Eddie - oh my god!” You whimper, nails biting into his shoulder, rocking against each other, his balls hitting your ass.
“Yesss, you feel like fucking heaven.” Eddie growls, using his strength to hammer up into you, both knowing the other wasn’t going to last long, the entire evening serving as foreplay. You bring your fingers down to rub roughly at your clit, whining into his mouth through messy kisses, each thrust of his cock bringing you closer and closer to the edge.
“Eddie, babe, I’m gonna cum.” You gasp, pussy tightening almost to the point of pain, vision going blurry as you climax hard.
“Oh god - baby! Fuck -” Eddie chokes out, arms holding you in a bruising grasp, head against your neck as he jerks his hips at a brutal pace, hurtling into his own release with a loud cry.
Eddie continues to pump gently into you, drawing out your orgasms, lazy kisses, and stroking touches bringing you back down.
“Goddamn, why didn’t we do this years ago?” He asks breathlessly, as you laugh with exhilaration, he lays back on the bed pulling you with him, thundering heartbeats steadily slowing.
“Y/n?” Eddie asks quietly after a time, fingers stroking up and down your thighs.
“Mmm?” You murmur sleepily.
“I know I was a little distracted back there, but - uh - I didn’t see any kind of tattoo.”
You laugh again, pushing off the bed, rummaging through your bag, throwing a small packet at Eddie.
“Candy cigarettes?” He queries in confusion.
“Yep, with a free Batman rub-on tattoo.” You grin, jumping back onto the bed straddling him once more, shoving one of the candy sticks into your mouth.
“Those are a filthy habit, sweetheart.” Eddie teases grinning widely up at you.
“Care to do the honours?” You smirk devilishly, waving the temporary tattoo at him.

Ellie williams as an artist I love
Ellie ily but istg you aren't similar to any artist i listen to, bar one.
that one is PVRIS who I have had a soul consuming obsession with for over a year to the point where my pinterest is filled of her and so is my spotify. lemme explain why
k while lynn from pvris has had almost every single haircut known to man there is a specific era that really gives ellie vibes to the point im convinced young lynn gunn could've played ellie in the tv show.
Tumblr media
idt yknow just how far i had to scroll on my pinterest to find this picture but like, ISN'T THIS SO SIMILAR???
Tumblr media
LIKE FUCKIN HELL THIS ERA ALWAYS SENDS ME INTO GAY PANIC BUT IT IS SO ELLIE!!
she's not only really hot she's also super dorky
Tumblr media
i just really love her okay?????? she's adorable and weird and really hot and basically everything everyone on tumblr says about ellie.
now for the SONGS
this girl has a lotta songs out (i have all of them liked there's like 4 albums, 2 EP's and several singles.
I can't take it over and over Dead weight hanging off of my shoulder Nothing changes, I'm getting colder
*bangs my head against the keyboard in ellie would so listen to this song
i also learnt this song on drums
like this needs no explanation, just go listen to it, watch the music video, i will take arguments if you try to convince me she's not ellie. THERE'S ZOMBIES IN THE MUSIC VIDEO FFS
How could you let them turn you into a monster? Your bridge started to burn when you ran all across it I guess you never learn 'til you live and you lost it
this song kinda made me cry when i made the association of this with ellie but it fuckin fits and the music video and the whole aesthetic of this song is so much darker than she usually is which scared me shitless for a bit. but it is so. fucking. good.
No I never sold my soul If I ever do throw my bones to the wolves No I never sold my soul
I know it's so wrong but I'm so far gone Don't need you to tell me I'm so cynical Quit being so over-skeptical Don't need a metaphor for you to know I'm miserable
long lyrics bc i need you to understand that this is santa barbara traumatized ellie.
just. ellie as pvris, this has been stuck in my head for ages and i needed to get it out.

wait, there are "enemy" blogs you want to stay in the fandom? isn't it better if they stay away, if they're annoying enough to be "enemies"?
Well, it is not a real """enemy""", hence why I used three whole pairs of quotation marks and not one x) And it is a singular, not plural.
The problem with BB fandom is that it is like... in a crisis? Not only the truly active part of it is like, same 20 people for years now, but also there is a hegemony of the same characters, same ships, same takes, same headcanons, same designs for unseen characters... People that join in the fandom see what fans are up to, but since most of the activity is the popular girls (gender neutral) of the school who are all tight mutuals group doing the thing of the week they share (usually when it happens you can blame a Discord server), these new people assume that this is what will fly, also that this is what is "canon". They're yet to discover that there are different interpretations, different possibilities, alternative ships..... but they now will not, because they already got swayed by influence. The cycle continues.
The """enemy""", that I only call such because we seriously didn't get along as people and not because they did something bad, is very different though! They are not annoying! They appear to be an individualist, they are touching ideas and characters fandom practically abandoned, they draw what THEY like and not what is a current set fun trend, they do not try to throw a bone to the community-
It is just refreshing to see something unique and interesting! I am the type that actually goes insane if I have to see the same thing over and over. I'd start hating my favorite ships if I never could see alternatives, ffs! My idea of ideal small fandom is various individuals doing cool stuff and simply sharing with each other, rather than there being a "core" that sets the trends and everyone outside of these trends being passively-aggressively ignored for "wrong" takes, "wrong" ships or "characters no one will care about". There should be more users that radiate such strong individuality and creativity instead of resorting to being just another gear in the machine! I would not be as petty as to wish for someone actually interesting to leave the fandom over personal things. My real enemies, on the other hand, are not creative at all. Well, one of them used to be but completely lost the spark.

If we were to believe what Deuxmoi said, then Olivia is really a pathetic excuse of a woman. How are you a 40 year old mother of two waiting for a guy 10 years your senior to decide what to do with you? "He's waiting to see how it all plays out" Lets say that we believe Deuxmoi for a second. What does that mean for her? It means that all this time that she's away is because Harry told her to back off untill he decides if he wants to take her back or not and she takes it. Why the fuck are her worshipers rooting for her to be with him? This is humiliating (if true) Are you, a supposedly bad ass feminist girl boss going to wait in a corner like a dog until Harry decides to throw you a bone to come back? This is probably the most embarrassing thing I've heard the past two years. Every time I think we reach the bottom of the cringe barrel, we get even lower. This is HUMILIATING!! She made this shit herself with her lies but PLEASE at least own up your shit and leave on your own, have at least a little bit of dignity for the sake of your CHILDREN!! They will SEE THIS THINGS ONE DAY FFS OLIVIA!! Some will believe DM some will not but whatever anyones believes she still LET'S these things out. It's SO EMBARRASSING!!!
I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Consequences of Karrnath Session 44
Crimson Tears and Crimson Vows
Our Players this week:
Dagne, Redemption Paladin, party leader, an undead soldier created by the Odakyr Rites, but has a soul. They are a Seeker sworn to protect the living. Has a skeleton horse mount from Find Steed named Coffin. Can be abrasive and dishonest, but they are ultimately kind. They intend to meet their destiny to defeat Mordakesh to protect the world.
Nux, Aberrant Mind Sorcerer, a young teen Marcher who escaped an imposed warlock pact and is now discovering their own innate magic. Their personas are Murlo, a preteen orc girl, Orim, a young adult elf boy, and Vel, an adult tiefling enby. Since dying and being brought back to life, they accepted a pact with the Killing Cold in order to ensure victory.
Vaeren, Gloomstalker Ranger, a blind former Deathguard. They were initially sent to investigate Dagne, but instead started dating them. They’re contemplative and disciplined, and are recently tired, only wishing to defeat Mordakesh and settle down.
Evakhal, Zealot Barbarian, a mysterious half-orc Gaash’kala who joined the party due to his visions of the future where they stop Morakesh. He’s generally optimistic and supportive of the party’s efforts, but now undermines Dagne’s authority in favor of getting his version of the job done.
Dagne approaches Inesa, voice cold, “I made an oath to protect the living. I took that to mean I should not kill. I see now that sparing you will only lead to more death. Go to Dolurrh, Inesa.” Hurriedly, Inesa throws up a magical shield, seconds before Dagne’s hammer smashes through it like glass. As she’s knocked to the side, Dagne comes in again, driving their enchanted poleaxe right through her cuirass and into her heart. The square fills with the blinding red light of Dagne’s smite. They push her off the tip of her blade and she falls, no, stumbles backward but remains standing. The amulet on her chest glows with golden sunlight, and in spite of the obvious pain on her face, her unsteady breaths, trembling legs and shaking hands, Inesa smirks. “Not dead yet.”
Another soldier jumps the barricade. As they charge, Dagne wheels around and its them in the shoulder. They scream in agony as their bones shatter and they drop to the ground, passed out from shock. While Dagne is busy, though, two more soldiers cut behind their back to attack Nux. The swordsman slashes at Nux’s arm and side. Then, the other swings his swordstaff in a powerful arc. Nux has no option but to dart forward, getting struck by the pole of the weapon instead of its head. It hits them hard in the temple and they drop.
Two soldiers gang up on Hynek, managing to get hits in on him as he tries to fend off both of them. In the distance, Vaeren hears a voice shout, “I knew she would be here!” It’s Seven’s voice. Despite their injuries, they nock another arrow and fire at the enemy archer. It flies true, right through the woman’s left eye, and she tumbles down ff the roof. They hear the clamp of warforged footfalls, two individuals, approach from down the street and reach the party. Dagne sees Seven sharge in, brandishing his spear and shield. The other warforged carries a pair of handaxes, and when Dagne spots a ‘96’ on the back of their hand, they realize who it is. It seems that Seven has recruited the former Red Watcher into his mission of revenge.
Seeing Nux unconscious, Seven shrugs, says, “same trick works twice,” opens his jaw and retrieves his healing potion from his mouth. He then runs to Nux’s side to administer it, Ninety-six covering his back and attacking the swordsman. They back his helmet hard, but then the man wheels around to block and parry their other attacks. Two soldiers mob Ev and their combined efforts break his defenses. Another soldier steps over her unconscious comrade to shield bash Dagne, but they stand their ground.
Looking around in desperation and seeing all his allies too occupied to help, Hynek takes a deep breath to steady himself and raises his left hand. Dark energy gathers in his palm, then lashes out at the seven nearest Red Watchers surrounding him. Two stop breathing, but remain standing as zombies. The remaining five are visibly shaking as the life is drawn from them, forming into a stream of green light. Hynek directs the stream towards Nux, “open your mouth.” Though confused, Nux complies and the light forces itself down their throat, closing their remaining wounds as it spreads throughout their body. The process burns, and the light tastes bad and settles wrong, leaving them feeling nauseous. “Hynek, what in the world? That was supposed to make me feel better? I’m gonna hurl.” Too busy to respond, Hynek advances and grabs a knight by the face, draining his life until he collapses. Seeing this, one soldier turns and runs. Another keeps his composure and stabs his zombified ally through the eye, killing it. Another zombie falls over a knight. The rest close on their former Red Watcher allies.
Dagne comes in with a slash of their axe blade. Inesa, getting over the magically induced pain, dodges. They strike again and she catches it with her parrying wand, then as Dagne brings the mutt of their weapon around, she manages to parry it with her saber.
Nux, realizing everyone is once again, grouped up, announces, “everyone! It’s gonna get hot!” They call upon their magic, invoking Caraslak yet again, but once again the Killing Cold is offended and turns the spell. The entire party and all their enemies are engulfed, but Nux’s intent reroutes the magical blast around their allies, sparing them from the biting wind. The zombies are all frozen, as well as three of Inesa’s soldiers. The knight at her side disengages and flees. Inesa shouts after him, “coward!” “I warned you of our intent,” Dagne tells her, “surrender. Now!” Inesa only grips her weapons tighter, gritting her teeth, “no surrender!” At that moment, Boki reaches Vaeren and assists them in picking out their target from among the crowd. One, two arrows fly true, one embedding itself into Inesa’s cuirass, the other in her shoulder. Inesa screams and seethes, her amulet glowing brighter with yellow-orange sunlight.
She doesn’t get a break. Seven and Ninety-six wheel around the come against her, coordinating their assault. Seven knocks her to the ground with two powerful shield bashes, then stabs through the hole in her cuirass with his spear. Ninety-six follows with a chop of their axe, and Inesa barely manages to roll aside their second strike. Another of Inesa’s men runs away. The last goes to follow, but Evakhal does not allow it. He advances and smashes him over the head with his hammer, killing him instantly. Hynek advances on Inesa with murder in his eyes, but Dagne calls out to him, and everyone, “wait.” He hesitates, then nods and readies himself. Inesa drags herself to her feet, looks around, and suddenly there’s a bright flash of golden light. The searing bright light of the artifact burns the entire party, overcoming Nux as they fall unconscious. Taking advantage of that distraction, Inesa whirls and swings at Dagne, her flaming saber beating into them. Calmly, Dagne uses their lay on hands on themselves and entreats, “Inesa. Stand down. You’ve lost.” “I don’t stand down,” Inesa hisses. In response, Dagne enters a guarded stance.
Nux rolls a death save. Nat 1.
Vaeren aims again and fires at Inesa. She throws up her magical shield and one arrow shatters against it, but it’s spent. The other strikes her in the gut, staggering her. The artifact about her neck glows brightly, and it seems now, with so many mortal wounds, that it is the only reason she’s still alive. In the next instant, Seven knocks Inesa back down to the cobblestones. “Seven! Wait!” Dagne shouts. He does not wait, stabbing her twice through her leg and arm while she’s down. She screams and cries, the amulet not protecting her from the pain. Ninety-six backs a step, concerned by the turn the situation is taking. With that, Dagne turns to the last support they have, “Ev, help me. Restrain her,” then kneels by Nux to heal their wounds.
Evakhal lunges in, grabs the amulet, and tears it from Inesa’s neck. “Ev!” Dagne shouts in shocked anger as Inesa gasps, but does not breath out again. They hurry to her side, taking weapons from her dead hands and tossing them aside. Nux, awake and with only a second to assess the situation, yells in angry dismay, “oh no you don’t!” They leap onto Dagne, but they’re unable to knock them over. “I must bring her in,” Dagne replies as they tear the arrow from Inesa’s side. “Bring her in cold!” Nux screams into Dagne’s skull. Seven speaks up then, “she’s already dead and that would just make her second death more painful, if you know the customary death for traitors.”
“I know!” Dagne shouts, “I just can’t have this on me!” At that moment, Vaeren reaches the party and asks Dagne, “what are you doing?” “I must bring her,” they reply as they frantically apply first aid. “You can bring her in dead,” Vaeren responds calmly, “it’s going to save a lot of hassle for everyone.” “Not like this.” “This is the highest dumbassery you have achieved!” Nux exclaims. Dagne ignores them and spellcasts, but it fizzles and stops, Nux blocking the reviving magic from reaching Inesa. “Nux! Stop it!” Dagne shouts. “How about you stop it!?” “This is more trouble than it’s worth,” Vaeren insists. “I don’t care.” “Why don’t you care?” “It can’t be on me,” Dagne repeats, hanging onto the sentiment in desperation. “Who decided it was on you?” Nux asks.
Dagne looks down at Inesa, the grasp of death fully taking her that moment as they know they won’t be able to coax her soul back from Dolurrh. “I’m the leader,” they say, “this is my responsibility.” “But you weren’t the only one attacking her,” Nux responds, “we all did. We should all have a say in what happens. Being a leader doesn’t mean you should control what happens,” they trail off a little bit as they carry their thoughts to their conclusion, realizing, “it means you take responsibility for what happens.” The moment is interrupted by the sound of something clattering to the ground. Seven has dropped his spear and shield, and he’s shaking profusely. “Are you alright?” Nux asks. “I am functional,” he confirms. “She’s dead,” Dagne says, realizing what this must mean for Seven. “So she is.” “What will you do, Seven?” “Return to my captain.” “Questions?” Seven nods. “Good,” Dagne says sorrowfully, “try to find a better path forward, friend.” “I shall.” Though still shaking, Seven picks up his weapons and taps Ninety-six on the shoulder, “come, brother. It’s time for me to go home.”
Then, Dagne turns, their tone icy, “Ev, give me the amulet.” “Okay,” he responds, glumly handing it over. “Let’s go back to Korth,” they announce, picking up Inesa’s body and cradling her close. Vaeren retrieves her weapons and helmet, finding them all magical with runes inscribed, and with that, the party sets off. However, Dagne soon receives a sending message, “I can probably pick you up. Did you do it yet?” “Yes,” they reply, “our mission was successful.” The party returns to the library, finding Mistress Ozanka there. She teleports the group again, not commenting on the corpse, and they find themselves on a street corner in Korth, standing in a temporary chalk circle.
The party walks to Crown Home. They’re spotted and guards ferry a few messages ahead of their arrival, and then the whole party is let inside. One tries to take Inesa’s body from Dagne, but they refuse to hand her over. A gnome servant approaches the group, “all of you will see the king. He is currently in his harem, but this is okay. You have very important business.” With a nod to Dagne, he leads them to a large room. As the door opens, the party can hear Kaius speaking, telling his companion that he understands his concern, but they need to talk later. Then, when the door opens fully, he looks at the party, “this is something I should talk about now though.”
Kaius is sitting, wearing trousers and no shirt. He’s accompanied by a khoravar man, somewhere in his 20s, with long brown hair and blue eyes, and a guard in full plate armor standing behind. The king stands and approaches Dagne, “it is done.” The khoravar is averting his eyes from Inesa’s corpse. Dagne retrieves the amulet of Ivara Zemin, holding it with the same hand which cradles Inesa’s neck. “Never call on me again,” Dagne says coldly. Kaius turns to the armored guard, “Dalor, get me a shirt, and make sure Ellar gets extra compensation. He should have the witness such an unsightly scene.” The two bow and leave, then Kaius reaches out for the amulet. Dagne hands it over without further comment. He puts it on around his neck and immediately stumbles back onto the couch, wincing in pain. The amulet glows brightly with sunlight and, as he seethes, the party sees color rush to his cheeks and fangs recede in his mouth. Within just a few seconds, he is breathing hard, but steadily.
Kaius rises again, speaking in a voice that is strained but strong, “my greatest thanks to all of you. I am free. Is there anything any of you want? I can give you many things, this is the greatest service any of my agents have done for me. Speak and it is yours.” “Can you make them my parents?” Nux blurts out, then points at Dagne and Vaeren for clarity. Kaius looks at the two, and both nod, so he writes a note and hands it to Nux. “Give this to House Sivis,” he instructs.
“I want my citizenship,” Dagne says. “Easy enough. Citizenship papers will be delivered to you shortly.” “I’m Dagne, not Almante,” they add. “Of course,” the king replies in a curious tone. Thinking of The Wall and Seven, Vaeren speaks up, “release the warforged from their servitude.” “Would you like anything else? That was already part of my plan.” “Then make me a citizen as well.” Kaius nods. “And I’d like to be paid for my service to you,” Dagne says. “Is 300,000 galifars sufficient?” Kaius asks. Nux can’t contain their astonishment at the number, exclaiming, “wha?” “That will do,” Dagne says flatly. Kaius turns then to Ev, but before he can say a word, Ev replies, “no thanks.” The king looks bothered, “okay.”
“Now,” Dagne announces with gravity, “I’ve done my part for you. I’m going to kill Mordakesh, and I expect to be left alone after that.” Kaius is shocked, “wait, what?” But as there’s no hint of irony and no further response, he adds, “honestly, I believe you.” “Farewell, Your Highness,” Dagne says, their tone inscrutable.
The party leaves Crown Home and all go their separate ways to perform errands. Nux puts their adoption through with House Sivis. Meanwhile, Dagne buys a pair of rings for 400 galifars. Vaeren charters an airship for the Ice Wood, to leave in seven days, for 8,000 galifars. Ev goes to Andrev’s home to arrange for the cats to stay there, finding Vakaris living with him. The party reconvenes for dinner, finding a fancy place in High Court Ward. Dajaana’s a Galifar fusion restaurant, with its menus stored on spellshards instead of paper.
Ev gets Aundarian crepes with sweet wine sauce and fruit ice cream. Nux tries to order stuffed ashi bread, but the server has no idea what it is, so they order Brelish pizza with extra meat, some boiling water to steep their tea, and a shot of vodka that they pick at random. Vaeren gets chicken with white sauce and a glass of red wine. Dagne, missing food, orders a bowl of beef bone broth and the same red wine. The food arrives, and it’s so fancy and delicious everyone ends up sharing with each other, except Dagne who cannot really eat. The bill comes out to eighty galifars.
Once the eating slows a bit, Dagne turns to Vaeren. They ask, “once this is over, I’d like to learn a trade that isn’t murder. Would you like to join me?” “Absolutely,” Vaeren replies, “anything you have in mind?” “We could open a brewery and bar.” Vaeren laughs, “always with the alcohol, you are. We could open a tea shop. Something floral, perhaps.” “I’d love to open a tea shop with you,” Dagne says, retrieving the set of rings and holding them out in their palm, “want to make it official?” Nux coughs. Vaeren pauses, then smiles, “I’d want nothing more.”
“We can hold the ceremony before we leave,” Dagne elaborates, “I’m thinking nobody there except our party, Andrev, my brother, and Seven.” “That sounds wonderful,” Vaeren says, then adds jokingly, “you’ll look gorgeous in a dress.” The comment hangs for a second before Dagne replies quietly, “actually, I’d like that.” “Really?” Vaeren grins, “that’s amazing!” “I have to get out of the armor sometime,” Dagne says. “Always should. We’ll have to get a dress specifically tailored though… we’ll need to find somewhere to hold it as well. We’ll figure this out tomorrow, I suppose.” “Indeed, tomorrow.”
The rest of the week is spent on logistics for the wedding and Nux hanging out with each of their party members. Then, on the sixth day, the party, Andrev, Vakaris, and Seven head out into the woods for the ceremony. The party gathers in a clearing, standing in a circle. Dagne and Vaeren stand together, and Dagne pours a cup of wine. “We’re supposed to prick ourselves and mix our blood,” they explain. “But you don’t have blood,” Vaeren replies. “I know. I have no blood, no life, no divinity within to offer you. This union is sacrilege. But I can offer my soul and my love. I hope this is enough.” Vaeren smiles, “that’s more than enough, love.” Dagne offers them the knife. They take it, make a shallow cut on their arm, and let the blood drip into the cup. Dagne takes it, drinks a sip, and hands it back to Vaeren, who drinks as well.
“We’re joined now,” Dagne announces to everybody, “body and light. May we face the darkness together. May we find comfort in each other.” Nux holds back their tears, sniffling. “For the rest of time,” Vaeren says with a smile, “we’ll do it all together, I promise. I’ll never let you go.” “I love you.” “I love you too, Dagne.” Dagne kisses Vaeren. Nux begins to cry. Dagne takes their hand and pulls them into a group hug. They cling to Dagne and Vaeren and sob harder.
The party heads back into Korth, to the Wall headquarters to have the afterparty. Seven congratulates the couple. Vakaris pulls Dagne aside to tell them he’s glad they found happiness. Andrev drinks significantly, and bubbly, tells Dagne “good job!” For gifts, Ev gives Vaeren hair pins and Dagne a matching circlet. Nux pulls three lockets of out their pocket. The first is silver, for Vaeren, with morning tea set into one side of it. For Dagne, gold with night tea. The third, for themselves, is bronze and has midday tea. The other side is left hollow, ready for a portrait. Nux explains, “so, this way, we can still be together, no matter what. Through life and death and all planes of existence.” “Thank you,” Dagne says. Vaeren puts it on immediately, “I love it. Thank you, my child.”
Later, the trio get their citizenship papers, then stop to have three arcane photographs taken of their family to place into the lockets. They then head back to the inn for their last night in Korth before heading to the Ice Wood. Nux sits down on their bed, “I’m sorry.” “Why’s that?” Vaeren asks. Dagne, however, already knows, “I’ve forgiven you.” Nux shakes their head, “we’ve just become a family and now I’m gonna have to leave you guys behind.” “Well, we’re together now, right?” Vaeren offers. “I understand your decision,” Dagne says. Nux regards Dagne with a curious smile, “sweet Eberron, I’m really starting to become like you, aren’t I?” Vaeren laughs a bit at that. Dagne takes their hand, “the path you’ve chosen will be painful, but I trust that you’ll find peace and love at its end.” “I will once I return to both of you, or once I am with Castle.” “We’ll always be together in some way,” Vaeren says, touching their locket, “we’re a family, after all.” “That’s honestly all I’ve wanted,” Nux says. “Me too…” says Dagne, “let’s get to bed, we have a demon to kill.” Vaeren lifts them up then and spins around the room, exclaiming, “this is more than I could’ve asked for! I love you!” Dagne leans their skull into their shoulder, “I love you, too. Let’s get to bed now.”
——————
Highlights:
Inesa’s death was perfectly brutal and tragic. I love how it went down.
Ev betraying Dagne’s trust to kill Inesa was absolutely shocking.
Nux realizing that Dagne was right about Inesa in real time was incredible.
Love the wrap up to Dagne’s conflict with Kaius, asserting that it’s finally over.
Yes Dagne officiated their own wedding. It’s called being a total chad.
Vaeren’s sheer joy this session was beautiful.
Dagne, Vaeren, and Nux are a family! :D

Meet Cute Event for @ghost-party
Tumblr media
Warnings: clumsy reader, fluffy, minor angst, injury, swearing
Author's Note: Somehow managed to delete this and here I am posting it again. FFS
Summary: When a cute but clumsy neighbour moves in next door, the last thing Getou wants it so be involved with her.
Follow up: Chaos (NSFW)
Tumblr media
Getou was woken by the sound of a loud bang and crash, the sound way too loud in the dead of the night rousing him from his sleep. Glaring at the clock through his dark locks, he groaned when it read 1.24am back at him. Rolling out of bed to the window, he looked around to see a car parking up next door. The streetlamps lighting the area, bouncing off the planes of your face as you pulled your suitcases to the front door. He watched in amazement as one rolled down the road, stifling a laughter as he saw you run after it only to fall on your face, dragging it back up the street before half throwing it on the ground.
Suguru would not get involved, no way. He was happy keeping to himself, he didn't need any distractions in his life. Not unless they were easy and willing to spread their legs with no expectation of him calling back. Sex was just sex, no strings attached.
Shaking his head, he flopped back into bed and fell asleep almost instantly.
Tumblr media
Loud music blared through the walls, so loud he could feel the bass in his bones. The walls vibrating so much that his wall art was moving with the beat. Putting down his saw and tugging off his goggles, he wiped the sweat and sawdust off his chest with a wet rag before swearing loudly. The noise was bearable at first, but steadily getting louder each passing hour until he couldn't take it anymore.
The walk to the house only increasing the volume as he walked up your stairs he screamed as his foot went through the third one. Tugging it free, again swearing loudly, he knocked on the front door once. Twice. Three times. Peering through the windows was useless since they were covered and when he knocked on those it made no difference. Praying to the heavens, Getou knocked once more loudly before he tried the door, relieved yet annoyed that you had left the door open.
"Hel-"
You were having a great time, wearing your favourite t-shirt, listening to your favourite tunes and painting the walls this gorgeous blue colour. Your hair out of your face with a car headband and paintbrush in your hand while spread the paint over the wall. The ladder wobbling next to you made you jump, yelping a little when it started moving sideways. The paint tin landing with a splat on a person's head.
"-lo?"
Oh no.
Dark hair (now covered in blue paint), low rise jeans barely holding up with a loose belt and heavy boots on his feet. The arms bulging, you could see the veins sticking out and the vague definition of his abs through the makeshift ocean dripping down his chest and stomach.
"Oh shit."
Getou was very much not impressed, not only was the little menace prancing around in short shorts but she had left the door unlocked. Wiping the paint from his face, he looked at you in disdain. Your arms and legs were covered in paint smears, face flushed from the laughter you were holding in.
Wait, what?
"You really think this is funny, little girl?"
You couldn't help it really. Hand covering your mouth as your body shook, eyes filling with tears from doing so. The situation getting so much worse when he started to walk over to you, a yelp from your mouth as you tried to run away but your plan thwarted when he grabbed you and tugged. Except both your legs got tangled in the sheets you had laid down and his arms were slippery from the paint. The combining factors had you both falling onto the ground, his chest pressed to yours as you landed with an oof back first.
Staring up at him, you laughed out loud at the paint dripping onto your body as his hands braced over your head. You were vaguely aware of the pain in your back from landing awkwardly, his eyes now filled with a mixture of anger and mirth as he looked down at you. You could feel the paint squishing between your bodies, your legs tangled in his and-
Oh.
"You keep moving sweetheart, you may not like where this ends up."
Heat bloomed, a full on shudder running through your body at the low pitch of his words. Your hands reaching out to touch his chest before moving back, repeating the motion a few times until he leaned forward enough for your hand to reach. He was so warm, even with the cold paint smearing his skin. The blue looked amazing against the tanned skin of his chest, the way it dripped down his body made him look like a work of art.
"Mind telling me why your door was unlocked and you were prancing around like that where anyone could have grabbed you?
"I-"
"And how are you not deaf with that loud racket? You didn't even hear me come in."
"But-"
"And what the hell is this colour anyway? I looks like a bubblegum machine threw up on me."
You'd had enough.
Shirking down under his arm, you scrambled to stand before kicking him in the butt except you missed and kicked the paint can instead. A loud yelp leaving your mouth as your foot collided with the metal with a thump, hopping up and down as you held it.
"Ow. Ow. Ow owowowowowow!"
"Lemme take a-"
"No! You stay away you big... big... meanie!"
"Wait, lemme-"
"No! You've said enough. I know how you feel. So you can just leave. The doors that way."
Hobbling over even though your toes were killing you, you pulled the door open and pointed at the exit. You could feel your nose tingling, eyes starting to water from the pain but you were determined not to cry in front of him. No way.
Getou knew he had fucked up, he watched as the light in your eyes faded. The giggles die out with each sentence he said, from the way you were holding yourself he could tell you were in pain. Standing up, he walked over to reach for your injured foot, stopping himself when you moved it away.
Dropping his head, he walked to the porch and jumped when the door slammed behind him. Walking down the stairs, swearing again when his foot caught in the stairs.
Karma was a bitch.
Tumblr media
Getou was officially confused and worried. For the last 2 days he hadn't seen or heard you, there was no loud thump of music from your house and no banging around. He knew he fucked up, knew he had hurt you and wanted to make it up to you. Maybe offer to help you out with the DIY you were doing or offer to fix your broken porch.
He jumped up when he heard a car outside your apartment, running to the window to see you hobbling out a taxi with a crutch in your hand. And now he felt worse. He watched as you waved goodbye to the driver before you made your way up the stairs. His heart lurched when he realised you would have to go past the broken step.
What if you hurt yourself?
Or broke your foot this time?
Or fell and hit your head?
He sighed a breath once you bypassed the step from hell, door closing as you entered your home. He saw your lights switch on, noticed that you had taken the sheets off the windows allowing him to see into your home. He watched as you moved slowly to the sofa and plopped down, throwing the crutch at the room before facepalming yourself. Getou couldn't help but smile as he watched you pout and crawl over to it before dragging it back.
Before he knew what was happening, he was walking over to your house (vaulting over the porch ledge) and knocking on your door. Mentally slapping himself when he realised how stupid it was, checking the door and once again, finding it open. He watched the emotions flit over your face: confusion, shock, annoyance and then nothing as he walked in and crouched down in front of you.
"Come to yell at me again?"
"No."
"Then why did you come over? Pity? Wanted to watch the new girl flail and hurt herself again?"
"Look, I know you're pissed. You have every right to be, I handled myself badly. I... I wanna apologise. If you'll let me?"
You watched as he checked your foot, the same warmth spanning up your leg. His rough fingers tracing the bandage that you had on there, lifting to put it on his knee while he looked at you. Dark eyes full of worry, hair tied in a bun with a hoodie and jeans. Peering down you could see he wasn't wearing anything under it, the faint spatter of hair on his chest. Abs and pecs outlined, you could see one of his dusky nipples and-
"Should I strip off for you, little menace?"
Huh?
"Sorry, I-"
A smile graced his lips, a sharp contrast to the aloof and stern face you had seen. Your neighbour-
Wait.
"I don't even know your name."
You watched as his eyes widened at your words, a grin covering his face.
"Getou. Suguru Getou."

Nefeli was in the mood again. And we can all understand what mood I mean. She wanted to be tickled right now and right then. Why? No one knows. She just woke up like that.
However, she couldn’t do much. The 14-year-old girl was stuck in her cousin’s house due to a storm and her parents were out with her uncle and aunt so she was forced to spend the night there. Don’t get me wrong, Nefeli of course adores her cousin more than anything, but she was really bored.
She was currently lying on the couch of his home, watching droplets of the heavy rain sliding down on the glass as she was trying to find ways to annoy him.
Suddenly he appeared in front of her, wearing a white, fluffy hoodie, and plopped himself next to her, scrolling through his phone. That was her cue to do something.
“Taeeeee” she dragged his name to get his attention and turned more to face him, her back against the arm of the couch and crossed legs.
Taehyung, her older cousin, looked at her and smiled his famous boxy smile every girl in his university melts for “Neffieeee” he mimicked her with a high-pitched voice, making her giggle.
“You look like a polar bear with this hoodie” she grinned cheekily and leaned back as she saw her older cousin raising his vision and looking at her.
“Then you are lucky because this hoodie is really soft and the best for cuddles and I can give you the best bear hugs,” he said and put his phone on the table in front of him and opened his arms for Nefeli to climb into them.
But the young girl had something else in her mind. After all, she didn’t want cuddles. She wanted something else...
“Nah, you are gonna eat me, like every animal” she mentally smirked as she saw his face straightening and a hint of mischief playing in his eyes. She was finally really close to get what she wanted.
“Take it back,” he told her as he scooted closer to her.
Nefeli was now having butterflies in her stomach and trying to swallow her giggles from anticipation. Her mood had started increasing and the more he was coming closer with such playfulness in his gaze.
“Why? I am just saying the truth! You are like a tall bear with that!” Tae’s lips formed into a smirk as he saw what his baby cousin wanted to do. When she was younger, she would always want to get tickled and he would always like to tickle Nef. And if he wanted to be honest, his studies had kept him away from his family and his cousin so he had missed having some fun.
“What do you want, Nef?” he leaned back on the other arm of the couch, smirking with the facial expression Nefeli gave him.
Her face flushed bright red and she looked down shyly. She had gotten caught. How would she now prove him wrong? He knows her better than his own self.
“Nothing, really” she grinned out of nervousness, playing with her fingers.
Taehyung smirked widen and crossed his arms in front of his chest. He loved so much teasing her about that. And he knew she liked that really much.
“Then I am not gonna do anything till you admit what you want” he tried to hide his smirk behind a serious face, but he wasn’t doing much.
This only pushed the young girl more in the mood and she wanted more to be tickled, but she was really shy to admit what she wanted. She was too afraid Tae would judge her. Little did Nefeli knew was that Tae finds what she wants really adorable and he likes it as well.
“So?” he asked, raising an eyebrow “Do you have something to tell me or I can go to my studio? I have a drawing unfinished y’know” he grinned, knowing full well he was really pushing her buttons.
It was a now-or-never decision. She was gonna tell him, but on the other hand, she didn’t want to say it. Ughhh, her mind was gonna explode! How she wished she would just go back in time and never had said anything to him about the hoodie? Now she is trapped in a trap of her mind.
“I-I um...” she shuttered, not really knowing what she wanted to do. Well, she knew, but she didn’t know how to do it. She was really embarrassed, especially since Taehyung was teasingly raising his eyebrow.
Her face was redder than a tomato and her nerves were only drumming in her head from embarrassment. She hid herself behind her long, black sleeves and giggled, carefully not to make any noise. Agh! This guy was always teasing her till death!
“Iwantyoutotickleme!” she mumbled fast inside the thick fabric of her sweater, not meeting his gaze.
“What? I cannot hear you? Speak louder please!” he mocked her, knowing full well he was embarrassing even more. It reminded her how they were messing when she was a baby.
“I want you to tickle me!” she said louder and hid even more behind her long sleeves and presses herself onto the arm of the couch. All the cheeky mood she was in some seconds ago was now vanished into thin air and now it was replaced by a shy one.
Taehyung chuckled deeply and pounced onto her, throwing over his shoulder and lying her onto the soft, warm carpet of the living room. He sat on her thighs, and pinned her arms above her head with ease, towering over her, since he is 178cm and she’s only 152cm.
“All you needed to do was to ask for it, y’know that, right?” he asked her teasingly, and not hesitating to wiggle his large fingers in front of her face.
Nef had already fallen into fits of tiny giggles, squirming around and trying to set her arms free, even tho she didn’t really want to. It was only a reflex. After all, this was why all of that had happened. For her to get into that place.
“Already in giggles? You must really want me to tickle you!” he exclaimed as he lowered his hand on her now bare belly, clawing there.
A waterfall of giggles poured out of her mouth as his fingers were wiggling softly around her warm skin “Tahahahehehe!” she giggled and tried to shot her arms down again. The fingers were roaming around her tummy, tickling and clawing fastly, and cute squeals and giggles were escaping her.
“Yes Nef?” he asked her, clawing faster on her flesh skin grinning from ear to ear.
“Nohohoho” she squealed, even tho she didn’t mean it.
“No? But you asked for it” he pointed out, shaking the tips of his fingers on her tummy, just above her bellybutton, bringing to the surface louden giggles and squeals “I think I should move somewhere else then” he smirked and moved his hands to her hips, drawing fast circles on her hipbone.
Nefeli arched her back and giggles louder, almost laughing as she felt electricity hitting her body. But if we say she wasn’t enjoying it, it would be a lie. She loved it.
Her giggles filled the room ad Taehyung’s hands were tickling her and her body was trying to squirm underneath him. But let’s face it, he was a giant against her. Nefeli was rocking herself left and right, trying to avoid the torturing feeling only out of reflex.
“Ahh, these giggles are so cute! I can hear them all day!” he said, not ceasing his attack, destroying her nerves one by one. It tickled so much but yet it wasn’t so intense that it was driving her crazy!
Just as she was thinking she wanted something more intensive, Tae brought his hand on her ribs, scribbling on them faster than the speed of the light. She exploded into loud laughter, thrashing around and howling like a wolf as one of her worst spots was being mercilessly attacked.
“NAHAHAHAHAHA TAHAHAHAHAE!” Nefeli cried in between her laughter as she was trying to curl up in a ball on one side.
Taehyung just chuckled down at his cousin, as her curly, chocolate brown, messy hair was all over her face and her smile was bigger than Europe. He felt like he was feeling before he went to university. Happy and with no worries about anything.
Her ribs were an incredibly sensitive spot on her body. Almost as sensitive as her sides and feet. She arched her back and fell back on the floor, shaking her head left and right, kicking her legs as she was getting what she wanted. However, she couldn’t help the ‘no’ which were escaping her mouth.
“PLEAHAHAHAHASE!” she pleaded, not really knowing why or what she was saying. She was too lost in her laughter which was going up octaves as Tae was alternating between her ribs.
“Please what Neffie? You are getting what you want, what else do you want now?” he teased more as he bend down and nuzzled his cute nose his her neck, sending her in a new fit of loud laughter.
“NAHAHAHAHAT THAHAHAT!” she laughed as loud as her lungs allow her and trying to block his nose from her neck but it was too late.
Tae was rubbing his nose up and down her soft, sensitive skin as the tingling sensations were being built up more and more. It felt like tiny bugs were running up and down her neck.
The young lad didn’t stop his assault on her ribs tho as he was pinching and rubbing each and every sensitive bone of hers like he used to do when she was a toddler.
Airy, childish-like giggles mixed with howled laughter was echoing the house as the weather outside seem to get worse and worse as the time was passing by.
“Do you have fun, baby cuz?” Taehyung whispered innocently inside her neck, sending shivers down her spine, tickling her more.
Nef tho didn’t respond. She was too busy laughing and trying to shot her arms down to protect herself. She was only shaking her head and howling with ear-piercing laughter.
“Tahahahehehe nahahahahahaha!” she giggled loudly and tried to shake her head side to side but she couldn’t since his head was still there, not letting her protect herself.
However, she couldn’t help but notice the wide smirk which formed on her cousin’s face all of sudden. Uh-huh... Nefeli could recognize the smirk from miles away. She didn’t know what he wanted to do, but she knew that whatever it was, it was sure it was gonna tickle like her.
Her eyes widened when she saw Tae leaving her arms go and turning around, facing her socked feet.
She started kicking and giggling loudly even tho he wasn’t even touching her, knowing full well it wasn’t gonna be like a walk in the park. Her feet are probably the most ticklish feet someone can ever meet.
“What are you laughing about? I haven’t even touched you yet!” he chuckled as he saw the panic in her eyes “But now I will” he smirked wider and scribbled his long fingers on her soles fastly.
Nefeli screamed loudly and fell into hysterical laughter, punching his back and the floor as she felt her nerves being set on fire.
Taehyung pulled back her socked toes and scribbled onto the base of her toes with his blunt nails as he was laughing along with her “Coochie coochie coo Neffieeee”
“NAHAHAHAHAHA TAHAHAHAHAE NAHAHAHAHAT THEAHAHAHAHA WAHAHAHAHARDS!” she snickered loudly and did whatever was needed to make the hellish feeling stop. She punched his back, she punched the floor, tried to kick his hands, tried to sit up but nothing seems to work.
“Yes, the words!” Taehyung laughed at her, knowing that she just couldn’t stand those words. They were just driving her insane!
“PLEAHAHAHAHASE NAHAHAHAHAHAT THEAHAHAHARE!” she shrieked loudly as he was now playing and scribbling on each of her toes, from their base to their tips.
The young girl tried to curl her toes to protect them but she wasn’t doing anything. She was forced to lie there and take it. But she wasn’t complaining at all. After all, she had asked for it.
Tae on the other hand was enjoying watching his baby cousin laughing from pure happiness and not because she wanted to let people think she was having fun when she didn’t. He had missed spending time with his happy shorty.
The young lad smirked widely as he brushed with his blunt, sharp nails the soft fabric of the shocks of her toes and soles and hearing at the incredibly loud laughter as his cousin was still tryna get him off of her,
However, Nefeli hadn’t tried one thing. With all her might she reached out and squeezed his sides three times before he finally let her go.
The young lad fell off of her and landed on the floor on his butt, looking at her with wide eyes and a smiley gasped mouth.
“What did you just do?” he asked in the most evil tone he could, making Nef gulp and try to back away.
She sat up and tried to stand to run away, but she was too slow. Taehyung had already pounced on her and pinned her down once again, hands above her head.
“Nahahahaha I ahahaham sahahaharry!” she giggled loudly and tried to escape what was coming. She knew whatever was coming was not gonna end up well for her. Probably it will leave her with tears rolling down her cheeks and panting hardly while she was still giggling her heart out.
“Ahhh I think you should have thought about it when you decided to squeeze my sides... Now you have to face the consequences” he lowered his voice in a devious and mischievous tone and lowered his head towards her now bare belly.
“NAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” she screamed and shook her head from side to side, preparing herself about what was coming.
Taehyung raised his head and looked at her with wide eyes “Wow, I didn’t even do anything yet and you are already screaming” he just chuckled and lowered his head again, only to receive another scream, a louder one.
“NAHAHAHA STAHAHAHAP!” he raised his head again and giggled along with her “Agh what happened now?!” he tried to swallow his giggles but he didn’t do much.
“Dahahahahan’t do ihihihihit!” she yelled in between her giggles, still shaking her head in anticipation.
“Whahat am I doing? I didn’t do anything yet!” he raised an eyebrow at Nefeli’s sweaty and giggling face.
“Youhouhouhou will blow a rahahahaspebrry as alwahahahays!” she giggled out, not daring to meet his gaze.
“Oh I wouldn’t, but if you insist” he smirked and bend down, blowing an abnormally ticklish raspberry just above her bellybutton, sending her into fits of loud, almost hysterical laughter.
“NAHAHAHAHA TAHAHAHAE!” she screeched in laughter as he continued blowing raspberries around her midsection.
What really got her tho was the fact that every so often Tae was blowing on her sides. She just couldn’t take it. Her sides are the most ticklish spot of her body and even the smallest stroke can drive her crazy.
Taehyung let Nefeli’s arms go and he squeezed fastly her sides and he kept nuzzling his nose in her bellybutton and all around her tummy. The young girl tried with all her might to push him away, but he wasn’t going anywhere. He was way too strong for her to move with a weak push.
“Maybe it’s time for the bear to eat this little, sweet girl!” he exclaimed inside her belly, sending shivers down her ticklish spine. He was enjoying it as much as she did, maybe more. He also knew how much Nefeli loved tickling even tho she had never admitted it.
“NAHAHAHAHAHAHA PLEAHAHAHAHAHASE NAHAHAHAHAT THAHAHAHAHAT!” Nef screamed loudly, knowing full well what was coming. Something which was gonna send her in pure hysterics.
Taehyung just rolled his eyes mockingly at her and all of sudden nibbled fastly all over her right side, up to her lower ribs and reaching down to her hips.
The poor girl let out an inhumanly loud scream and fell into the most hysterical laughter she had ever experienced. Dead people probably could hear her screaming and laughter from down there, that’s how loud she was at this point. It tickled so much that she couldn’t believe it. Al her nerves were being ripped one by one and every hair on her body was now straight.
“NAHAHAHAHAHA TAHAHAHAHAHA PLEAHAHAHAHA!” Nefeli couldn’t form whole words, her hysterical laughter was cutting her every time. She was trying to breathe but oxygen couldn’t reach her lungs properly since she was laughing too hard.
“Ahhh, stop screaming, and lemme eat you in silence!” Tae teased her, his hot breath brushing her warm skin, tickling more, as he used his other hand to massage her other side, adding as much pressure as it was needed to make it only tickle and not hurt.
Teasing is always getting her really much and it makes her so shy that she looks like an alive tomato. When Nef is being teased, she feels mental pokes on her sides and that makes everything more unbearable. (a/n that’s a true fact lmao)
As her most ticklish spot was being attacked, Nefeli felt like all her problems and burdens were being vanished. She couldn’t help but feel so happy and a merry aura surrounding her. She was getting what she wanted but she was getting as well what she had missed. Good times with her older cousin.
As Taehyung’s fingers were dancing up and down her side while his teeth were torturously fast brushing against her bones, she felt her breathing being taken away little by little as the moments were passing by. Her laughter had tuned silent and tears were rolling down her plump cheeks.
“N-Nohohoho mohohohore!” she managed to yell in between her silent laughter and immediately the young lad pulled away.
Taehyung sat on the couch and pulled the exhausted and panting girl onto his lap, rubbing her sides and back affectionately until her breathing came back to its normal.
Nefeli rested her head on Taehyung’s chest, listening to his heartbeat, which helped her relax completely. She smiled in his embrace, feeling love and happiness circling her.
“Thank you for that” she smiled widely and snuggled more into his chest.
He chuckled and kissed her temple lovingly, putting a piece of her hair behind her ear “Always baby cuz” he whispered back and fell slightly behind, resting his head on the back of the couch, the young girl still in his arms.
“Ahhh I had missed that so much” Taehyung admitted, closing his eyes they both drifted to sleep, while the storm was being kept going outside.

🔥 What is your hottest take on your fandom?
The topics I'll be mentioning are nothing which likely hasn't already been discussed in past discourse.
🔥 These days you can't throw a rock without hitting content which heavily utilizes mods. I don't recall this being the case 2.5 years ago when I came to the fandom but the surge in the past year and a half has been palatable and I'm seeing it everywhere now. Some of these screenshots don't even resemble XIV anymore but hey, more power to the people who use mods to achieve a specific look for their character the base game doesn't allow. That said, if I wanted to see cat-girls who look like they walked out of IMVU then I'd go and play IMVU.
🔥🔥 Never before, in any fandom, have I been exposed to so many NPC ships. I've also never been then heavily vested in a fandom before but being around for so long you see so much. Everyone who participates in it is valid, but it's just not my cup of tea (I've similar thoughts for active WoL ocs) and I mostly ignore such content.
Be that as it may, I've long since realized some of the merits of what is essentially you shipping with yourself. You are in charge of the quality, quantity, and pace of your content. You have full autonomy over the characters and most importantly you're not reliant on another person to meet you at the half-way point, only to vanish for an indefinite amount of time.
🔥🔥🔥 There is little denying the impact of XIV's storytelling and how the game loves to wallop you in the emotions. Shadowbringers especially isn't lacking on that front but I find some claims about this being the best mainline FF ever when:
XIV's nature as an MMO gives its story more meat to its bone than most other FF entries save maybe FFVII so the comparisons might be unfair
FFX exists and still remains the most emotionally toiling story. Don't @ me you Yevon-less heathens.

Naughty Kitty~
Felix was usually good at keeping secrets. If you asked any of his friends, or anyone in general, they wouldn't even know he had a crush on someone. In the beginning, he had thought that he made his infatuation with you quite obvious, but when he had ended up ranting to Changbin about said crush, he was relieved to find out that no one suspected anything. Felix had met you through Han, who was apparently a childhood friend of yours. You two were still pretty close though.
That's why he was at your apartment at 11:00 at night. The boys had started getting too rowdy while he was trying to study, so you offered to let him work at your place while you went out with a few girlfriends. You told him that you might end up spending the night at one of their houses so he could stay as long as he liked.
Felix had finished his studying and decided to go ahead and finish homework for other days of the week he knew he would be busy. He grabbed his backpack to pull out his laptop but groaned in aggravation when he realized he had forgotten it at home. He decided to take a gamble and texted you, asking if you had a laptop or computer he could use. It had taken you a few minutes but you told him you had a laptop you rarely used on the top shelf of your closet in a black computer bag. He thanked you and set down his phone, making his way to your room. He tried not to be nosey but the second he had entered your closet, he saw a small black box next to the laptop and got curious. He set the laptop bag against your bedroom wall and pulled the little box down, almost dropping it when he saw what was inside. The black box he was holding was your- um… toybox. At the top of the box, above all the ropes, gags and many other things, was a large, pretty blue strap-on. He felt a rush of different emotions as he picked it up. He hadn't known you were a dom- I mean he had guessed but he had never gotten confirmation.
He bit his lip as he thought of you fucking him into the mattress, pulling on his hair as you called him so many dirty things. Before he could realize what he was doing, he had jumped to your bed pulling off his sweatpants and boxers, covering the fake dick in lube before hovering over it. He paused, thinking about what he was actually doing before deciding it was fine. You were staying at a friend's after all. With that though he lowered onto the toy with a quiet whimper and his bottom lip tucked between his teeth.
"Get better soon, alright!" You shouted to your friend from your car. She weakly nodded with a wave as you got in the car to head home. You were supposed to stay the night to catch up with all of your friends you hadn't seen in years, but one of the girls had apparently gotten sick and told you all to just go home so none of you wouldn't catch it. You sent a quick text to Felix to let him know you would be home shortly, so he wouldn't freak out if he heard the door opening and he thought you wouldn't be home.
You had made it home pretty quickly. Since it was so late there wasn't really any traffic. You decided to be quiet as you entered the house, not wanting to disturb Felix while he was working. You quietly opened and closed the door, but confusion washed over you as you saw all of his school work but no Felix. You walked to the kitchen, thinking he might have stopped for a snack or something, but stopped in your tracks as you heard something from your bedroom. He might've just decided to work in your room after he had gotten the computer, too lazy to walk back to the living room. You walked quietly back to your room to check on him but stopped again when you heard the noise more clearly. Was… was he moaning? You opened the door slightly to get a better look at what was going on, and bit your bottom lip to suppress a groan.
Felix was on your bed, riding the strap-on that you hadn't used in a little while. He was moaning with his back arched and one hand tangled in his hair, the other pumping his pretty red cock to make him come undone faster.
"O-oh fuck! Ngh- mommy!" A shiver shot down your spine as you pushed the door open a little bit more to confront him. His eyes were tightly screwed shut so he couldn't see you, too busy trying to cum.
"Enjoying yourself?" He jumped in surprise, throwing the strap away from him with his hand flying away from his body to pull some covers over himself.
"(Y-Y/N)! I-I thought you weren't coming home until t-tomorrow!" He exclaimed, looking everywhere in the room away from you. You smirked, pushing off the door frame to walk to him.
"There was a change of plans. I texted you about it, but I guess you were too busy fucking yourself to look at it." Felix sat stiffly in the middle of your bed as you stepped closer to him, shivering and closing his eyes when you grabbed his chin. "Look at me." He opened his eyes but instead chose to look at something behind you, too nervous to look in your eyes. You slapped his thigh through the thin blanket he used to cover himself, making him yelp in surprise and snap his eyes to look at you. "I don't like being ignored, kitten. So when I tell you to do something, I expect it to be done quickly, alright?" His mouth went dry and he slowly nodded at you. "Use your words kitten." He bit his lip at the nickname.
"Y-yes mommy." You smiled and combed your fingers through his hair, making him lean into your touch.
"Good boy. Now, sit up kitten." He quickly followed your command, watching as you grabbed the strap-on and lube from the other end of the bed to set it on the dresser. You sat down on the edge of the bed and patted your thighs, making him tilt his head in confusion before he let a long whine pass his lips upon realizing what you were doing.
"What, you think I'm just gonna give it to you?" You grabbed his chin, pulling his face closer to yours and making him look you in the eyes. "You were being such a naughty kitten. Fucking yourself with one of mommy's toys when she wasn't here like a filthy slut. Don't you think you need to be punished, baby?" He whimpered, nodding rapidly as you degraded him.
"Y-yes! I've been a bad boy mommy! H-hurt me, spank me- just ruin me! I deserve it!" He moaned out, pupils dilating as he bit his lip seductively with hooded eyes.
"Fuck, kitten. You're more of a slut than I thought you were." Felix whimpered before rushing to drape himself comfortably over your legs when you patted them again. You hummed in thought while your dominant hand started kneading the flesh of his ass, making him whimper again. "How many times should I spank you kitten?"
"As m-many as you think I deserve mommy." He whimpered out, craning his neck to look up at you as his grip on your thighs tightened.
"So well trained. Makes me think you've done this before." You said with a quiet chuckle. He was silent for a minute.
"..... maybe I have." He quietly muttered. The thought of someone else having touched him like this before you made a strange feeling of rage swell up inside of your chest. Is this what jealousy was? You faked a pout, running one hand calmly through his hair while the other dug your nails into his ass. He squirmed with a loud whine beneath you, trying his hardest to not rut against your thigh.
"What a shame. I was enjoying the thought of being the first one to touch you like this- be the one to taint you." A shiver ran down his spine before his body lurched forward when you landed a harsh slap on his ass. He whimpered, pushing his ass back into your hand. You didn't have a certain number in mind, you just decided to spank him until it had seemed like he had learned his lesson. You ended up listening to the lewd sounds he made rather than counting how many times you had hit him, so you were a little surprised when you suddenly looked down and saw a few tears spilling down his face. You softly rubbed and massaged the flesh of his ass that was now stained red from how much you had hit him. You softly lifted his body up, making him straddle your waist. The tears in his eyes as he continued to silently cry made your heart break. You brushed his hair, that was now damp with sweat, out of his face, gently wiping the tears off his face and letting him nuzzle into your palm. Your other hand rested on his waist, rubbing soothing circles on his hip bone with your thumb.
"Oh, I'm sorry kitten. I didn't mean to hit you that much." Felix sniffled, moving your hand from his cheek to lock his smaller hand in yours. He smiled as best he could, still managing to look adorable with tears staining his cheeks.
"I-it's alright mommy. I-I'm okay." You smiled up at him, squeezing his hand in yours before leaning up to press your lips against his. He made a small sound of surprise before he wrapped his arms around your neck to pull you closer. The sweet kisses turned hungry as he began whimpering and grinding his hard cock into your thigh. "P-please mommy. It h-hurts." He whined as he pulled away from you, grinding his hips into your thigh faster. You smirked up at him before picking him up by his waist turned, slamming him into the mattress. You leaned down close to his ear, your hot breath against his skin making him squirm slightly in your hold.
"Your wish is my command, kitten." A shaky moan left his lips as you attached your lips to his neck, making sure to leave a dark bruise behind when you pulled away. You left a trail of kisses down the center of his chest to leave more marks on his inner thighs, making him whine in disappointment when you skipped over where he needed you most. After leaving a few decent sized hickeys on his thighs, you pulled away from him entirely, reaching to the bedside table to grab the strap-on and lube. He squirmed beneath you, excitement clear in his eyes as he hungrily watched you adjust the toy around your hips. You squirted some lube on your first three fingers, deciding he could take it since he had been fucking himself for a while before you had entered the room. He threw his head back, biting his lip to suppress the loud moan he almost released as you shoved your fingers into him without any warning. You pinched his thigh, making him yelp and snap his head to look at you. "Don't hold back your pretty noises kitten, mommy wants to hear you." He whimpered before moaning loudly as you started to thrust your fingers into him at a steady pace. You started to speed up your movements, making him gradually get louder. You curled your fingers, making him let out his loudest moan as you hit his prostate.
"O-oh, oh fuck! Right there mommy! R-right there!" Felix cried, moving his hips to match the movement of your fingers. You smirked, only thrusting your fingers back into him two more times before pulling out. He whined pathetically, moving his hips to try and find your fingers again. "M-mommy! Why'd you stop?" You quickly pulled your clothes off, throwing them to a random corner of the room. You leaned over him after you had finished lubing up the toy, making him gasp as you lined the tip of the dildo with his hole.
"Did you forget mommy was gonna fuck you kitten?" He whimpered, gripping onto your shoulders as you pushed the tip of the toy into his hole. Quiet moans and curses left his lips as you thrusted the whole thing into him. It only took him about a minute to get used to the toy filling him up again, and moved his hips with a whine to get you to move. You attached your mouth to his neck, biting and licking as you thrusted the strap into him. His quiet, breathy moans progressively got louder and louder as you sped up the movement of your hips. Soon he was screaming beneath you as you pounded into him, his legs wrapping around your waist to make your thrusts deeper. He threw his head back, digging his nails into your shoulders as you adjusted your hips and found his prostate.
"H-holy s-shit! R-right there! F-fuck! Please don't stop mommy!" You smirked, leaving another mark on his neck as you sped up the pace of your hips. He let out a loud cry of pleasure, his hands flying to your back to find something to grip onto. You winced as his nails dragged down your back, surely leaving marks behind. You grabbed his arms, pinning them above his head so he wouldn't scratch you again. His moans seemed to grow louder after you did so, making you raise your eyebrow as you saw his cock twitch on his stomach.
"Do you like it when mommy pins you down like this kitten? Do you like lying so helplessly beneath me as I use you however I want?" His eyes squeezed shut as his mouth dropped open in a silent moan. A broken cry escaped his lips as he felt you slap his thigh. "I asked you a question, kitten." He whined loudly, moving his hips to match your movements.
"F-fuck- YES!! Y-yes! I love feeling so controlled! Love it when mommy fucks me like I'm nothing!! O-oh shit- Ngh!" You groaned, leaning down to nibble on his earlobe as you moved one of your hands to pump his cock. His loud moans turned into desperate whimpers as you felt his dick twitch in your hands, telling you he was going to cum soon. "O-oh f-fuck! M-mommy! P-please! Please let me cum! I-I've been a good k-kitten! P-please!" You sped up the pace of your hand and hips, moving to growl in his ear.
"Go ahead kitten. Make a mess all over yourself for mommy." After a few more minutes of you pounding into him, his eyes rolled back in his head as he came, shooting white ropes of cum onto his stomach and chest. You slowed down your pace, bringing him through his orgasm before bringing your cum soaked hand up to his mouth. He opened his eyes, only looking at your hand for a second before licking the cum off it. God, there were so many things you wanted to do to him, but that would have to wait for another day.
You cleaned both of you up, returning your toys to your closet before sliding under the covers next to him. Felix froze up as you wrapped your arms around him. You furrowed your eyebrows, moving his hair out of his face to look him in the eyes, which were looking everywhere but you. You gently grabbed his face.
"Hey, what's wrong baby?" His face flushed red as he looked into your eyes for a millisecond.
"N-nothing, it's just…" he trailed off, focusing on a strand of your hair to keep him distracted, "I-I… I thought you would w-want me to leave, that's all." Your face scrunched up in confusion.
"Why would I want you to leave?" He silently looked to the ceiling, not answering your question. You sat up more, grabbing his chin and making him look you in the eyes. "Hey, what's going on baby? Talk to me." He let out a sigh as he reluctantly looked you in the eyes.
"What… what are we?" You blinked in confusion. "I mean, did you see this as a one night stand. Are we just gonna forget this ever happened, because if that's the case I don't think I would be able to talk to you again." You chuckled lightly, cupping his face with both of your hands and connecting your lips in a soft, loving kiss. You didn't give him enough time to kiss you back before you pulled away to smile at him again.
"Felix… you need to know something." He looked up at you, mirroring your confused expression from earlier. "I like you. And not as a friend. Trust me, if I liked you as a friend I never would have walked in here." He sat silently for a minute before smiling brightly, tackling you in a hug. You giggled,  wrapping your arms around his waist as he repeatedly kissed your face, sighing in content when he finally pressed his lips to yours. You were both still smiling when you pulled away, leaning your foreheads against each other. "So… I guess you like me too?" He laughed, swatting at your arm playfully. You both sat there for a moment, happy to simply be in each other's embrace.
"So we're dating now, right?" He asked, pushing away to look you in the eyes. You smiled brightly, kissing his lips one more time.
"Of course we are." Felix smiled, snuggling into you before both of you softly drifted off to sleep.

1.      Commander Cody
They were exhausted and battle worn, their armor cracked and coated with the dirt and dust of the battleground, but still, Obi-Wan and Cody stayed standing until the rest of the 212th were evacuated from the site. A bug buzzed somewhere near Obi-Wan’s neck, and he batted it away. The bugs were probably attracted to the sweat and the blood—not his—still dipping into the collar of his tunic.
He couldn’t wait to get off this planet.
He knew he wasn’t the only one.
Obi-Wan had only been working with Cody for a few weeks now, but already, he had grown accustomed to the commander’s demeanor. Quiet and steady, Cody hadn’t so much as faltered at the battles that they had gone into. A part of Obi-Wan worried at that—grew wary at the case with which Cody, along with so many other men, could go into war seemingly without a second thought.
Or maybe not completely without a second thought, Obi-Wan thought now as the last shuttle dropped in front of Cody and himself. Now that all the 212th had left, Obi-Wan sensed the fractures in Cody’s own mask of calm.
They wordlessly got on the shuttle, the doors shutting out the heat and the bugs. For a moment, all Obi-Wan saw was darkness—and then the lights inside the shuttle flickered on, and then they were taking off, leaving the blasted dusty planet behind.
Obi-Wan let out a breath as the shuttle ascended into the atmosphere. Somewhere up there, he knew that they would get into the cruiser, and then Obi-Wan would probably find Anakin and Ahsoka, probably just as batter-worn from their own share of the fight. Obi-Wan would have to go to the debriefing after checking with his men—his men, something he still couldn’t quite get used to.
A burst of cool air from the shuttle’s ventilation system dried the remaining sweat on Obi-Wan’s face. He swiped an arm over his forehead. A shower. He wouldn’t mind a shower right after the meeting, either, even if the idea of staying awake and upright for any longer than he had to felt like another battle on its own.
But he would bear it, just as he had everything in the last few weeks.
He had only just completed that thought when he felt something drop against his shoulder. Obi-Wan looked down and made out the top of his commander’s helmet. He paused, unsure what exactly to—how exactly would he—
Obi-Wan half-expected Cody to bolt awake, and he angled his head slightly away to avoid the oncoming jerk against his chin—but Cody stayed fast asleep, his breathing deep and even within the helmet.
And Obi-Wan could feel the weariness radiating off his commander, the bone-deep kind of weariness that came with perhaps too many days of fighting and not enough rest.
So Obi-Wan turned back towards to the viewport. He inhaled slowly, so as to not even let his breath disturb Cody’s rest. They would get into the cruiser in a few minutes, anyways. Obi-Wan decided, with a slight, wistful smile on his face, that he would grant his commander these few minutes of peace before the next storm.
2.      Padmé Amidala
“Thank you for the meal, Bail,” Obi-Wan said as he helped the senator move the dishes into the kitchen.
“You’re welcome,” Bail replied. He took the plates from Obi-Wan’s hands and jerked his head into the sitting room. “You sit down. Guests aren’t allowed to do the dishes.”
“You know I don’t—”
“Doesn’t matter if you don’t mind—go.”
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes, but he lifted his hands in mock surrender before walking out of the kitchen. He found Padmé and Anakin already in the sitting room, their heads bent low near each other’s—and then quickly parting as Obi-Wan made his steps heard.
“Obi-Wan,” Anakin said loudly, his face flushed with either the alcohol or something else, Obi-Wan wasn’t entirely sure. Watching Anakin’s eyes dart quickly over to Padmé, Obi-Wan changed his mind. He decided the faint pink in his former apprentice’s face was definitley due to something other than alcohol.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan only replied, sitting down on the couch beside Padmé.
The senator and he exchanged a brief smile, and though Padmé’s face, too, was just a tad brighter than a few minutes before, the senator’s face remained neutral as she said, “I see that Bail finally managed to get you out of the kitchen.”
“He practically chased me out,” Obi-Wan said, ignoring the bark of laughter from the kitchen.
“Well, given your track record, I would think that chasing was a bit necessary,” Padmé replied. “Don’t you think, Anakin?”
“Absolutely,” Anakin replied, and though the color in his face was dying down, Obi-Wan still noticed the shine in Anakin’s eyes as he fixed his attention back on Padmé. It was almost enough for Obi-Wan to start shaking his head right there—really, Anakin was terrible at keeping secrets. Padmé and Anakin both were, but Obi-Wan had neither the capacity nor the desire to protest against their manners.
He briefly wondered if that made him a bad Jedi, quietly turning blind in this moment—but he quickly shoved those thoughts away.
Obi-Wan was relieved when Bail finally walked into the sitting room, glasses in hand. He set them down on the table and passed one automatically to Obi-Wan, and then the conversation slowly turned to talk of politics and home worlds and speeder models and a holodrama that Bail and Padmé had apparently started watching.
Obi-Wan was glad to let the conversation wash over him, glad to just smile and offer the occasional quip or question. He leaned back against the couch, leaving his glass three-quarters of the way drained, his head only slightly buzzing with the alcohol. His whole body felt comfortably warm otherwise, and through his own haze, he noticed that Anakin had only taken a few sips from his own glass. When Anakin caught Obi-Wan looking, he only grinned and mouthed, driving.
Obi-Wan smiled and let his head fall back against the couch cushions as the conversation dulled down further, until it was just Bail and Anakin talking—Bail, still very much awake and cheerfully carrying conversation with Anakin about the latest updates on whatever new speeder model had come out.
While Padmé…at some point, Padmé had gone quiet, and only when her head fell on his shoulder did Obi-Wan realize that the senator had fallen asleep. Obi-Wan lifted his head to look first at Anakin and then Bail in silent question, but without even breaking from the conversation, Bail reached over for one of the throw blankets on one of the couches and tossed it to Anakin.
And Anakin, still not breaking from conversation, only heaped the blanket over Padmé’s sleeping form. Obi-Wan managed to catch Anakin’s eyes a second time—and found, with some curiosity, that he felt some strange relief in the smirk Anakin tossed Obi-Wan’s way.
Deciding that he didn’t want to decipher that smirk, Obi-Wan slowly, carefully re-settled back on the couch and only re-adjusted the blanket around Padmé’s shoulders before leaving her to sleep on his shoulder.
3.      Satine Kryze
“I should have known you’d be here.”
Satine lifted her head from her book. Night had completely fallen over Mandalore, the distant lights of the city and the moon being the only source of brightness in the otherwise sleeping planet. A small pool of moonlight encircled Satine now as she stood up, closing her book.
“Obi-Wan,” she said. “I thought you would be sleeping by now.”
Obi-Wan dipped his head towards Satine. “The excitements of the day haven’t quite worn me out, I’m afraid.”
“Ah.” Satine settled the book against her front. She sat back down on the grass. “Care to join me?”
Obi-Wan glanced around the courtyard. He had been in this place before, in the last few days he had on Mandalore, back those years ago. Satine and he had explored some of the courtyards, and this one had been one of their favorites. Smaller than the others, a little more secluded. A pond was somewhere nearby, bubbling with only some of the fish that dared flick their tails above water. A tree swaying with a warm breeze that could only somehow be carried in this section of the palace. With the breeze, Obi-Wan caught the scents of the courtyard: grass, some nighttime flowers, and Satine.
“Shouldn’t you be resting?” Obi-Wan only asked, walking into the courtyard. He sat down next to Satine, who only gave him a brief smile. “What are you reading?”
She lifted the book. “A childhood favorite of mine,” she replied somewhat wistfully. “Although I’m afraid the story isn’t quite as captivating as it once was. A consequence of no longer being a child, I suppose.”
“Different times, different tastes,” Obi-Wan replied conversationally. He tilted his head towards the book. “I would still like to know what it’s about.”
“Well,” Satine said, handing the book to Obi-Wan, “it’s all rather dramatic, if you must know.”
“Is it now,” Obi-Wan said, amused. The book was lighter than Obi-Wan expected. He could feel the slight wear on the spine, the cover as he flipped it open. The pages were slightly curled with age and years of use.
“It’s about two eventual lovers,” Satine said, a smile curling over her lips. “Separated by a conflict between their own families, although we never learn what exactly that conflict was.” She shrugged, leaning back down against the grass. “An unhappy tale, really.”
Obi-Wan looked down at Satine, at those clear eyes of hers reflecting back the night sky. “How so?”
“Well,” Satine murmured, folding her hands against her stomach, “the lovers both die in the end, although neither had to.” She nodded to the volume in Obi-Wan’s hand. “The girl fakes her death, and thinking that she truly is dead, the boy kills himself. The girl wakes, and upon seeing her lover dead, she kills herself as well.” She turned back up to the sky. “Truly horrible.”
Obi-Wan looked down at the book. “And this was a childhood favorite?”
“Don’t laugh,” Satine said. “I used to think it was romantic. Used to.”
“And now?”
Satine looked at Obi-Wan and laughed. “Now I think it’s rather silly,” she replied. “A tutor of mine once explained that the author might have written this story as a mockery of love rather than a true expression of it. I’m rather inclined to agree.”
“An interesting interpretation,” Obi-Wan said. He flipped over to the first page and, clearing his throat, read, “Two households, both alike in dignity—”
“What are you doing?” Satine asked, propping herself up on an elbow.
“Well, you said this was a childhood favorite,” Obi-Wan replied lightly. “I might as well see why.”
“Obi-Wan—”
“As I was saying—in fair Verona, where we lay our scene…”
Satine only huffed and settled back down on the grass. “Impossible,” she said. “That’s what you are.”
“Now, don’t interrupt Duchess, I’m already rather intrigued.”
Satine laughed again, and Obi-Wan made it through the entire prologue before he, too, settled down on the grass beside the duchess. He was aware of how their heads were brushing against each other, the rise and fall of Satine’s chest, the occasional sigh as he read on. He read until his voice was little more than a murmur, and he had read up until the fifth scene of the first act before he felt Satine’s head nestle against the crook between his shoulder and neck.
Obi-Wan’s voice stuttered for a moment, and he looked down to find Satine’s face buried against him, her expression content. She let out a soft sigh, and Obi-Wan took that as a signal to keep reading, his voice growing softer and softer until he was doing little more than just mouthing the words.
But he had completely forgotten about what he was reading, and only when he actually got to the ending did he remember where they were.
Obi-Wan looked down at Satine, still asleep.
He brushed a strand of her hair back. She shivered a little, the rest of her face disappearing into Obi-Wan’s neck.
Obi-Wan smiled. “You’re right, my dear,” he said quietly. “That was a horrible ending.”
4.      Ahsoka Tano
“I just don’t understand,” Ahsoka huffed from across the table. She was clicking through documents on the computer, her eyes already glazed from the screen. “Master Skywalker agrees that I learn better on the field than I do with these lessons.”
“I’m sure he does,” Obi-Wan murmured, adjusting the brightness on the computer screen. The Archives had gotten considerably darker, and though the lights adjusted accordingly, the computers unfortunately did not. Obi-Wan’s eyesight wasn’t getting any better, either. He swiped a hand across his eyes before re-focusing on the screen.
“I just don’t understand,” Ahsoka repeated. “We’re fighting a war. Why do I need to know about this stuff? It’s not like a droid is going to ask me to recite philosophy before shooting me.”
“Padawan.”
“Yes, Master Kenobi?” Ahsoka asked, ducking her head around the computer. She blinked with comical innocence at Obi-Wan. And Obi-Wan only shook his head. A part of him wanted to smile—Ahsoka reminded him so much of Anakin in some ways, especially with that cheerful look she gave him now. But another part of him couldn’t help but feel a kick to his chest—there was something so incredibly strange and wrong about hearing a child so casually talk of being targeted on the battlefield.
Then again, the war had changed what childhood meant for so many, and the Jedi were not exempt from such changes.
“Focus on your studies,” Obi-Wan only said, looking back at his computer. Ignoring Ahsoka’s groan, Obi-Wan added, “You may not need to recite philosophy for a droid, but you will need to sharpen all parts of your mind.”
“My mind’s already sharpened,” Ahsoka mumbled.
“Then sharpen it more.”
Ahsoka groaned again, but she didn’t argue. The evening sounds of the Archives slowly filled the long room: the rustle of robes and cloaks, the scrape of chairs being pushed out or pushed in, the buzz of the lamps, the whir of a droid somewhere down the hall.
Obi-Wan had lost himself in the near-silence of the Archives before he suddenly became aware that Ahsoka was no longer clicking or typing on her computer.
“Ahsoka?” Obi-Wan called, ducking around the computer.
And he found Ahsoka with her head resting against a propped-up hand, lips slightly parted against her palm.
Obi-Wan smiled to himself. He glanced out the windows, knowing even before he found the dark sky that night had completely fallen. They had been in the Archives for many hours now, and frankly, despite Ahsoka’s complaining, the girl had lasted longer than Obi-Wan had figured she would. That would be something Obi-Wan would have to tell Anakin once he got back from his mission.
Obi-Wan pushed himself out of his chair and after shutting off his own computer, made his way around to Ahsoka’s side.
A few books were still scattered around the computer, some half-open, others with pages still fluttering against some phantom breeze. Obi-Wan closed those books and pushed them to the side, stacking them neatly by the organization system the Archives called for. Then he leaned across the desk to shut down Ahsoka’s computer. He found the philosophy text still up on the screen. Ahsoka had gotten through perhaps three-quarters of the way before falling asleep. Which was impressive, Obi-Wan figured, for someone who so clearly hated philosophy.
Obi-Wan shut off the computer and looked down at Ahsoka. She was still asleep, her hand still holding up her head.
“Ahsoka,” Obi-Wan said quietly, resting a hand on her shoulder. He shook it once, just enough for Ahsoka to stir. “Perhaps you should sleep in a more comfortable place.”
Ahsoka, her eyes glazed over with sleep, only blinked owlishly at Obi-Wan. She rubbed a fist over her eyes, and Obi-Wan became painfully aware of how young she truly was. Fourteen years old—still a little older than most younglings who became Padawans, but still unbearably young for someone about to be launched into a war.
“Okay,” Ahsoka murmured, and she started up from her chair, only to plop right back down, eyes already fluttering shut. “’m tired.” Her voice was small, plaintive—a tone that Obi-Wan had not heard Ahsoka use ever.
“Here,” Obi-Wan said, and gently, he tugged Ahsoka up by the wrists. “To your quarters now.” He directed themselves away from the desks, but before he could fully get them to the main corridor of the Archives, Ahsoka’s head bumped against Obi-Wan’s chest, her eyes still closed.
“Ahsoka—”
“Sorry, sorry,” Ahsoka mumbled, stepping backwards. She blinked a few more times, crashing against the back of one of the chairs. “Sorry.”
Obi-Wan wasn’t sure whether to laugh or be concerned. “Are you alright?”
“’m fine,” Ahsoka said, rubbing her fist over her eyes again. “Just…” She took a small step away from the chair, towards Obi-Wan—and stumbled again.
Tired—she must have been more tired than she had been letting on, Obi-Wan noted as Ahsoka sat back down on the chair, her head resting against its back. Another pang went through Obi-Wan’s chest. The girl held much of her strength like a shield around herself everyone carried a shield around themselves these days, Jedi and non-Jedi alike—and now, apparently, the young as well as the old.
Obi-Wan sighed. Then, sinking down in front of Ahsoka, he guided her arms around his shoulders, found the back of her legs and hoisted themselves up.
Ahsoka’s head bobbed against Obi-Wan’s shoulder, her hands dangling in front of him.
“Master?” Ahsoka mumbled, her feet knocking lightly against the sides of Obi-Wan’s legs. “What’re you…”
“We can’t have you stumbling around the halls, now, can we?” Obi-Wan only said. He swiveled his back just enough to give Ahsoka a small smile. “Rest, young one.”
Ahsoka hummed a little, her head falling against Obi-Wan’s shoulder once more.
And Obi-Wan carried Ahsoka all the way back to her quarters.
5.      Anakin Skywalker
“Have you seen Anakin?”
“He was by the cliffs, sir,” Rex replied, gesturing back to where a cluster of troopers still stood. Obi-Wan stood up and, narrowing his eyes, he indeed spotted the one spot of black clothing, and then the bright flash of a blue saber.
“What is he doing?” Obi-Wan asked, more to himself than to Rex.
“Leading the sweep on the last few droids,” Rex replied. “I only just came back from my half of the sweep.”
Obi-Wan narrowed his eyes at that still-swinging slash of blue. “He’s hurt,” he said.
“I tried to tell him,” Rex said.
Obi-Wan gave Rex a dry smile. “I’m sure you did, Captain,” he replied. “Not to worry—Anakin tends to be stubborn.”
Rex smiled back, but it quickly faded as the two men turned their attention back on Anakin. “If he’s hurt, then—”
“Not to worry,” Obi-Wan repeated, already swinging down from the low platform. He looked up to Rex. “Just be prepared when I finally bring him back. Make sure Kix is available.”
“Yes, sir,” Rex replied, and he hurried off in a flash of white and blue.
Which left Obi-Wan to Anakin.
He turned around and made his way through the battle-worn grounds, pointedly walking around droid parts and fallen blasters. The closer he walked, the louder Anakin’s lightsaber and the other troopers’ blaster fire became until even the sounds of the bugs and the other critters of the planet were drowned out by the action.
Obi-Wan found Anakin quickly. Hair plastered to the back of his neck, face pale but eyes and cheeks bright, a confident swagger in his step even when clearly injured—Anakin was the glowing image of the Hero with No Fear that Chancellor Palpatine had instilled for the Republic. The image and the title didn’t sit well with Obi-Wan—he barely liked the title instilled on him (The Negotiator, as though he were a character in a story), but looking at Anakin’s bold movements and bright smile, Obi-Wan could understand where at least his former apprentice’s new title came from.
“That’s the last of them, boys!” Anakin said now, just as Obi-Wan heard the dull clatter of what he could have only assumed was the destroyed battle droids. Obi-Wan felt both relief and pride radiating off the cluster of troopers, off Anakin.
And then Anakin’s eyes found Obi-Wan’s, and he grinned, shutting off his lightsaber. “You’re a little late for the party, Master,” he said. “We’ve taken care of it.”
“Yes, I can tell,” Obi-Wan said. “Well done.” He weaved through the troopers until he reached Anakin at last. Up this close, Obi-Wan could make out the individual beads of sweat rolling down the side of Anakin’s face, his neck. The slight heave of his chest as he tried to keep his breathing even. Obi-Wan flicked his gaze down to Anakin’s side. Even without touching him, he could sense the damage done.
Anakin’s eyes followed Obi-Wan’s, the smile fading from his face. He subtly moved away, clipping his lightsaber to his side. “Right,” he said loudly. “Back to the ships, men.”
“Sir, yes sir!”
Obi-Wan waited until the troopers had all left before saying, “You should know better.”
“I’m fine,” Anakin said automatically, but now that the troopers were gone, Obi-Wan could hear the slight strain in his friend’s voice. “It’s not even that bad.” He took a few steps forward—shuffled, more like, and that was when Obi-Wan knew that the situation was much worse than he had originally thought.
“Anakin, wait—”
But Anakin was sliding down from the ledge, and for a moment, he stayed upright.
Obi-Wan slipped down the ledge next to Anakin just as he started swaying, one hand reaching for his side.
“Anakin—”
Anakin’s face tightened as he leaned back against the rock ledge. Obi-Wan reached for Anakin automatically, catching him by the arm just as Anakin started to slide down. “Probably shouldn’t have…done that,” Anakin ground out through clenched teeth.
“You shouldn’t have,” Obi-Wan agreed, winding an arm gingerly around Anakin’s side. Though he kept his own touches light, he felt the flare of pain underneath—fractured ribs. Multiple. Obi-Wan inhaled sharply.
“It’s not that bad,” Anakin mumbled, but the reediness in his voice suggested otherwise. “I can walk back.”
“Clearly, you can’t,” Obi-Wan replied. “I can call Kix—he’ll bring a stretcher.”
Anakin let out a breath, sinking directly into Obi-Wan’s side—which was another sure sign that the injuries must have been more painful than usual, because Anakin never gave himself away, not like this. So Obi-Wan only re-adjusted his grip on Anakin and suggested, “We should sit down first.”
Anakin nodded mutely, and with that, the two settled back down on the dirt.
“Kix,” Obi-Wan said into his comm.
“Yes, General.”
“General Skywalker is injured,” Obi-Wan said as Anakin’s head lolled against his shoulder. Obi-Wan glanced over at Anakin. His eyes were drifting shut, whether from the pain or exhaustion, Obi-Wan wasn’t sure. All the same, Obi-Wan’s chest tightened as a shudder ran through Anakin’s body. “We will need a stretcher.”
“Yes, General.”
With that, Obi-Wan turned towards Anakin. His former apprentice’s eyes were completely closed now, his chest rising and falling unevenly. Obi-Wan could feel the damp of Anakin’s hair, his warm breath against his skin.
And then Anakin’s head rolled past Obi-Wan’s shoulder, causing both Obi-Wan and Anakin to startle.
“Sorry,” Anakin mumbled, opening his eyes. “I didn’t—” He started to move upright but stopped mid-motion, a low groan leaving his lips.
“Don’t,” Obi-Wan said, setting a hand on Anakin’s shoulder. Anakin relaxed under Obi-Wan’s hand. “Rest.”
Anakin huffed out a breath. “You’re never going to let me hear the end of this, are you?”
“Never,” Obi-Wan replied with a brief smile. He guided Anakin towards himself. “It might do you better to lie down with your ribs the way they are. It’ll make getting on the stretcher easier as well.”
Anakin huffed out another breath—one that sounded more like a laugh, but he managed a small nod. He started to lower himself to the ground, wincing at even that slight movement. Obi-Wan kept his hand on Anakin’s shoulder, murmuring encouragements until Anakin’s head was right on Obi-Wan’s lap.
“You’re definitley not going to let me hear the end of this,” Anakin mumbled, his eyes already closing.
“No,” Obi-Wan agreed, resting his head against the rock ledge. He saw troopers still hustling on the platform in the distance, and above that, the now darkening sky. Obi-Wan saw some stars glimmer into existence—just the earliest, brightest ones as the sun’s last yellow rays hushed themselves over the horizon.
Obi-Wan heard a small sigh, and when he looked down, he found that Anakin’s eyes had closed completely.
Obi-Wan smiled to himself, brushing back a strand of still-damp hair from Anakin’s forehead. And then he looked back up at the darkening sky, where he found two bright stars winking down at him.
+1.
It was a universally known fact that Obi-Wan Kenobi needed sleep.
Which was why today, everyone was staring at Obi-Wan Kenobi like he had just grown a pair of wings, because he was asleep. And sleeping on Commander Cody’s shoulder, no less.
Cody only stared at the rest of the troopers in front of him in silent panic. But they only watched with mild amusement as the gunship landed down on Coruscant. The flight had been smooth, thankfully, and perhaps it being too smooth had been the reason why the general of the 212th had chosen that specific time to doze off.
Not that Cody necessarily minded. It was no secret that Kenobi was exhausted, and they had been running operations for seemingly weeks on end. This temporary leave had come as a relief to all.
Still, Cody wasn’t sure what exactly he was supposed to do, now that Obi-Wan was at his shoulder. Cody expected that the man would wake soon, probably jerk up the minute the gunship doors opened, but he did nothing of the sort. Cody wasn’t sure if that made him relieved or not. Because on the one hand, the general truly did need his sleep, but on the other—
“Got something there, Cody?”
Cody only gestured a finger to his lips as a signal to keep Rex’s voice down.
But the captain only grinned. “How’d that happen?” he asked, nodding at Obi-Wan, still fast asleep.
“I don’t know,” Cody replied quietly, not trusting himself to raise his voice any louder without waking the general. “Should I…” He glanced down at Obi-Wan, and then glanced back at Rex. “I don’t know if I should wake him.”
“I wouldn’t either,” Rex replied. “He probably needs the rest.” He looked over his shoulder, and Cody followed the captain’s gaze to where a few senators were speaking amongst each other. They technically didn’t have to be there—Cody knew that they only came to boost morale, but still, he saw a semi-familiar face amongst that small group.
“Senator Amidala is a friend of his,” Rex said. “I’m sure she could help.”
Before Cody could say anything else, Rex walked away and returned with the warm-eyed senator.
“Commander,” Padmé said, tilting her head in a nod.
“Senator,” Cody replied. He didn’t really know the senator, but the minute Padmé smiled at Obi-Wan, Cody decided that he trusted her.
“I see you’re in a bit of a situation,” Padmé said.
“Not a situation, Senator,” Cody replied. “Not too much trouble.”
“Yes,” Padmé said, amused. “I see.” She looked backwards, nodding to where a speeder waited. “I’m about to head back to the Senate Building—and that’s a bit closer to the Temple from here. I would be glad to take him there.”
“We wouldn’t want to trouble—”
“It’s no trouble, Commander,” Padmé said, that smile of hers returning.
Cody exchanged a look with Rex, who just shrugged.
“If you say so, Senator,” Cody said, and with that, Padmé came around to Obi-Wan’s other side. Again, Cody expected Obi-Wan to wake, but he didn’t so much as stir as Padmé wrapped an arm around Obi-Wan’s waist. The warm weight of Obi-Wan’s head left Cody’s shoulder, and Padmé nodded once again to Cody and Rex.
“Have a nice day, gentlemen,” she said, and then she turned, supporting Obi-Wan to the speeder.
And Padmé, like Cody, didn’t terribly mind the fact that Obi-Wan was leaning against her, nor did she terribly mind Obi-Wan’s head on her shoulder as she started up the speeder. He only stirred awake at the grumble of the speeder, his eyes blinking open briefly.
“Where…” he started to murmur, but then he blinked at his surroundings: the blurring skyscrapers of Coruscant, the glow of the lights both above and below. And then, clearly reassured that there was no danger, Obi-Wan dropped his head back against Padmé’s shoulder.
Padmé only laughed quietly to herself, mentally noting the moment as something to tell Anakin later. He probably wouldn’t believe her even if she told him. So Padmé pressed on, taking care not to run into any of the rougher-trafficked lanes. She technically could have been escorted, and that might have made being in a speeder easier, but Padmé had wanted the freedom. And besides, she was grateful for that now.
Only just as the Senate Building came into view, Padmé’s speeder blinked a light to warn her that its fuel was running out.
She murmured a soft curse at the alert. She should have probably checked before taking this speeder out to begin with. She looked up to the Senate Building and then back to the little alert. She probably had just enough fuel to get her to the Senate, but then—
Padmé sighed. She felt Obi-Wan stir at her side, and she stilled, hoping that the man didn’t sense any of her own annoyance at the speeder. So she steered her speeder all the way to the platform of the Senate Building, her mind already running with possibilities of exactly who to notify about the empty fuel tank when she saw a familiar flash of blue from the distance.
“Duchess,” Padmé said, lifting her head, careful to still not wake Obi-Wan.
“Senator,” Satine said, stopping short in front of the speeder. If the guards behind Satine or the duchess herself found something strange about the fact that Obi-Wan Kenobi was sleeping on Padmé’s shoulder, they didn’t show it. Well—the guards didn’t show it. Padmé didn’t miss the way Satine’s eyes softened at the sight of Obi-Wan, nor did Padmé miss the slight flicker of concern across the duchess’ face. “Did something—”
“He’s fine,” Padmé said quickly. “Just tired. He fell asleep.” She gave Satine an embarrassed smile. “I meant to return him to the Temple, but it seems my speeder’s not quite up for the challenge.” She gave her speeder a rueful pat on the controls before asking, “Would you mind…”
“Of course not,” Satine said. “I was just about to go for a drive around the city, anyways.”
“Wonderful,” Padmé said, relieved. She started to rise from the speeder, but this time, Obi-Wan awoke, his eyes prying open fully.
A few awkward moments passed before Obi-Wan asked, “What happened?”
“You fell asleep,” Padmé said simply. “You were with Cody, and I offered to take you to the Temple, only my speeder…” She grimaced and turned to Satine. “Luckily, Duchess Satine was willing to help.”
Obi-Wan only blinked a few times, still clearly trying to escape the throes of a deep sleep. “I wouldn’t want to trouble anyone,” he said, swiping a hand over his eyes. “Really, I’m…” He started to get out of the speeder, but not before his foot got caught on something. Padmé pulled him back before he could fall on his face.
“Yes, of course, Master Jedi,” Padmé said, ignoring the wounded look Obi-Wan threw her way. “Duchess?”
“Of course,” Satine said, and she stepped forward, extending a hand towards Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan looked down at Satine’s hand warily and then, taking it, he stepped out of the speeder. Padmé didn’t miss the slight flush creeping up Obi-Wan’s cheeks, nor did she miss the identical shade of pink creeping up Satine’s own face. Padmé happily decided that perhaps the speeder running out of fuel was a good thing instead.
“Good night, Duchess, Master Kenobi!” Padmé called.
Satine only tossed Padmé a smile over her shoulder, and then Padmé watched Obi-Wan and Satine start for their own speeder. Satisfied, Padmé hopped down from her speeder and decided to make a call about refilling the fuel tank.
In the meantime, Satine guided Obi-Wan to the speeder, and the two settled in the backseat as the guards settled in the front. For a few minutes, neither of them spoke, not as the speeder rumbled to life. Satine kept her eyes ahead, focusing instead on the glint of the skyscrapers against the setting sun. As the speeder picked up into the air, a warm breeze swept over them.
And then they were off, taking for the Jedi Temple on the other side of the city. Satine let her gaze drift from the skyscrapers to the lines of speeders below her, and then to the sun setting over the horizon. She was all too aware of Obi-Wan’s warmth beside her, the calm of his presence.
Still—Satine needed to be still, even though a part of her was overwhelmingly relieved that he had returned. A senseless war: that was what had somehow tied their paths together again, and Satine wished that the circumstances were different, but at the same time—
She would be returning to Mandalore in a while yet, and she supposed she was grateful for the time they had still.
And suddenly, Satine felt a weight settle on her shoulder.
Satine didn’t dare look down at Obi-Wan as he shifted against her, a soft sigh leaving his lips. Satine only kept her eyes straight ahead, daring her guards to say anything. But they didn’t react, didn’t so much as blink as Obi-Wan turned his face into Satine’s shoulder, his forehead bumping against the base of Satine’s neck.
Satine was selfishly glad that the speeder ride was smooth. A part of her knew that she should probably wake Obi-Wan, probably gently direct him away, but—
Well, that selfish part of her remained.
And only when the speeder landed in front of the Temple did Satine bring herself to stir. She was sorry for it, but then she heard—
“Master Kenobi?”
Satine looked up to find a young girl standing up from the Temple steps, her brows furrowing. The girl looked from Obi-Wan to Satine, her brows furrowing even more, but she ducked her head into a quick bow. “Duchess Kryze.”
Ahsoka Tano, Satine remembered. She had seen the girl only a few times, mostly accompanying Anakin Skywalker. She couldn’t have been much older than fourteen, fifteen, but she was yet another one of the children involved in the war. But she was a friend of Obi-Wan’s—that much, Satine also knew.
“Good evening,” Satine said, bowing her head. She gestured to Obi-Wan. “Would you know where his quarters are? I was only helping him get to the Temple.”
“Of course,” Ahsoka said, the girl’s lips twitching into a smile. “Is he…” She nodded at Obi-Wan, whose head was starting to slip from Satine’s shoulder.
“He was only sleeping,” Satine replied, gently bringing Obi-Wan’s head up to keep him from slipping entirely. “Nothing more than that.”
“Master Kenobi, sleeping?” Ahsoka asked, eyes widening. Then, quieter, “That’s a first.”
Satine decided that she liked this girl. She smiled, and Ahsoka smiled back.
“Don’t worry, Duchess,” she said. “I’ll make sure he gets his way around.”
“Thank you,” Satine replied, as the guard opened the speeder door. And with careful hands, Satine guided Obi-Wan over to Ahsoka. For one so small, the girl surprisingly kept both Obi-Wan and herself steady, even as she stepped themselves away from the speeder.
“I’m Ahsoka, by the way,” the girl said. “Ahsoka Tano.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ahsoka Tano,” Satine replied. “Thank you.”
“Of course, Duchess,” Ahsoka said cheerfully. And then she waved as the speeder started up, and Satine waved back until the Temple was out of her line of vision.
And when the speeder had disappeared, Ahsoka, too, turned around. She readjusted her grip around Obi-Wan’s side. She looked over at the man’s face and couldn’t help but laugh to herself. She wished she could take a picture. But she supposed she would just have to settle with memorizing this moment instead, everything from the nearly-darkened sky to the rustle of their clothes to Obi-Wan’s quiet sounds of protest as they walked through the halls.
The cool of air from the Temple rushed over them both, and Obi-Wan shivered slightly beside Ahsoka. She only adjusted his cloak around himself before walking on, nodding casually to some passing younglings. She couldn’t help but smile at their temporary awe and also disbelief at seeing Ahsoka supporting Obi-Wan through the halls. A sight, she was sure.
Ahsoka guided Obi-Wan’s arm over her shoulders for better support as they rounded a corner. Obi-Wan stirred lightly then, mumbling, “’soka—”
“That’s right,” Ahsoka said, rolling her shoulders. “You’re a lot heavier than you look, Master Kenobi.”
Obi-Wan started to shift against Ahsoka, but she only said, “We’re almost to your quarters, though.”
A small sound of disbelief. “When…”
“Just a little while ago,” Ahsoka replied, keeping her voice nonchalant. “Duchess Kryze dropped you off.” She paused, giving her next words only a second of consideration before adding, “You were sleeping on her shoulder.”
Obi-Wan’s eyes fluttered open at that. “Was…”
“Oh, she didn’t seem to mind,” Ahsoka replied. She saw Obi-Wan’s door in the distance. She patted Obi-Wan’s arm twice in some reassurance as she added, “I think she was actually smiling. I think she’s nice.”
Obi-Wan only mumbled something that Ahsoka couldn’t quite make out—which was impressive, considering she was right under Obi-Wan’s mouth. “Anyways,” Ahsoka continued as they came closer to the door, “I’m glad that you got some sleep, Master. You looked exhausted.” She managed to break her hand away enough to wave open the door.
They ducked into Obi-Wan’s quarters—only it wasn’t empty.
“Is he okay?” Anakin asked, jumping up from the desk. “I got a call from Rex that—”
“He’s just tired,” Ahsoka said, disentangling Obi-Wan’s arm from her shoulder. Obi-Wan swayed a little, but then Anakin was at Obi-Wan’s other side, catching him by the shoulder. “Really tired. I don’t even think he’s actually awake right now.”
Anakin looked down at Obi-Wan, who only blinked wearily up at him.
Anakin smiled. “Well, look at that,” he said, and Obi-Wan sighed, resting his head against Anakin’s shoulder.
“I’ve got it from here, Snips,” Anakin said, looking at Ahsoka. “I’ll make sure he actually stays asleep.”
“Sounds good,” Ahsoka said, grinning. Then, whispering, she added, “Good night, Master Kenobi!”
And then she was gone, the door sliding shut behind her.
So Anakin settled both Obi-Wan and himself on the bed. Careful not to let Obi-Wan slide forward, Anakin slipped off Obi-Wan’s boots, unfastened the armor. All the while, Obi-Wan remained asleep, only mumbling only the occasional complaint.
Anakin only smiled to himself, setting the boots and the armor down on the ground. “Look at that,” he repeated. “You can sleep.”
“I can hear you,” Obi-Wan mumbled against Anakin’s shoulder.
Anakin settled an arm around Obi-Wan’s shoulder. “I was counting on it,” he said quietly. He gave Obi-Wan’s shoulder a quick squeeze, and then he slid away, guiding Obi-Wan’s head back to an actual pillow. He heard a sigh, and then Anakin brought the blankets over his former master, letting it settle right over Obi-Wan’s shoulders.
Obi-Wan’s eyes opened just a little, the deep grey-blue shining up at Anakin in the otherwise dim room. “I should finish the reports,” he only mumbled.
“Don’t even think about it,” Anakin said, settling down on the floor next to Obi-Wan’s bed. He rested his head back against the mattress. “Just go to sleep, Obi-Wan.”
--
Obi-Wan slept.

I know you weren't trying to be rude, I do. So far I've been really fucking lucky in not having any legit rude anons or readers. But I just... sometimes it can start to feel like I'm this work horse, ya know? And sometimes things are like "... Hey 😔, I know it's taking a while but ya coulda asked a little more politely here man I work hard on this stuff." When someone post a 1k snippet you have to realize that represents a couple hours of work they put in instead of doing other things because they want to make these stories great for readers. So just, yeah. Please keep that in mind. But yes, here's a little snippet but nO MORE I GOTTA FINISH THIS DAMN THING 😩
////////////
She had this.
Raven was right. It was just a friendly dinner.
A friendly dinner where Clarke could possibly see what it might feel like to live out the mortifying ordeal of being seen as half of a… something.
A something with Lexa.
Clarke pushed the thought down as she twisted the handle, taking a minute to herself to breath and calm her nerves.
Which was all shot to shit the second the door swung open.
"Hey, gorgeous."
The smirk that greeted her sent a flutter through Clarke's belly, her eyes doing a quick route down the length of Lexa's body. Gone was the skirt and skin tight blouse from earlier, all vestiges of the office wiped clean.
The usually wild mane of brunette was pulled back in a ponytail, an exquisitely messy one that hung over her shoulder and draped across the curve of a sharp collarbone. Clarke's gaze wandered along the waterfall of it, sliding to the cleavage that peeked out from the unbuttoned dip of a low-cut navy Henley. Her leather jacket stopped just shy of distressed jeans that clung to her thighs, calves, and ankles and stretched down to a smart looking pair of black boots.
Clarke shook her head at the deeply pleased look painted across Lexa's face.
"How did I not foresee you managing to get yourself invited here?"
Lexa's smile slipped into a frown, head tipping to the side as she spoke. "... You didn't know I was coming?"
"No," Clarke sighed. "I was not made aware until about five minutes ago. We've been set up."
"Ah," Lexa breathed in understanding, shuffling awkwardly on her feet on the front stoop. "I should've known when Raven told me to hurry up. The texts felt very urgent."
"Don't know how you don't know this by now, but you can never trust Raven. And I'm saying that as someone who also fell into this trap."
"Do you want me to leave?"
"I can't uninvite you from someone else's house, Lex."
"That's not what I asked," Lexa murmured, throat bobbing with a swallow as her eyes strayed to her shoes.
Clarke licked her lips. Thumped the door twice with her thumb. Weighed the conversation from the kitchen that still felt fresh on her tongue.
"You really weren't in on this?"
"I would tell you if I had been. She just texted and invited me. Said it was dull with just the three," Lexa shrugged. "Felt rude to say no."
"I'm sure that was the reason," Clarke snorted, shaking her head with an exasperated smile. "Not at all like you wanted to spend the evening with me or anything."
"Well you already know how I would've preferred tonight to go."
Clarke's smile weakened when Lexa wagged a devilish brow.
Right.
Sex.
There it was. Why she hadn't wanted to do this to begin with. Not this way. Had questioned ever even fucking confronting the jumbled mess of thoughts that had been churning in her skull for the past few days. Because she'd set up these boundaries and didn't know why she'd begun questioning them to begin with.
Something in her face must've given her away. A glimpse of her hesitance. The stab of something sharp and unpleasant at Lexa's admittedly innocent words sobering the smirk on Lexa's face.
Lexa stepped in closer, one foot on the threshold, the other firmly staying outside. "I can go if you want me to," she said so quietly Clarke wouldn't have heard if she weren't that close. Wouldn't have seen the sparkle in Lexa's eyes from the porch light above them. "But I'd like to stay. If you want… You know I'll take any time I can get with you."
Never mind.
That was why she'd been having those jumbled mess of thoughts.
It sent her stomach flipping and chest aching with something else entirely. Clarke smiled more genuinely, throwing in a cursory roll of her eyes for good measure. "At least you're getting better at being smooth."
"Just like making you smile, gorgeous."
"Mhm… in that case, I guess you can stay."
"Lucky me… So are you gonna invite me in now?" Lexa asked, the silky hum of her voice causing Clarke to sway a bit on her feet as Lexa lifted her hand to reveal a 6-pack of imported beer. "I came bearing libations as peace offering. Just on the off chance you were a little… cranky. For whatever reason."
Clarke eyed the bright label as she reached out to grab a fistful of Lexa's shirt, stepping aside to make room as she yanked Lexa inside and shut the door. "How did you know what beer I like? You're a wine girl."
"I asked Raven," Lexa said as she set down the case and shrugged out of her coat. "She's a very helpful secretary… Sometimes."
"She's a goddamn schemer," Clarke corrected with a grunt as she shot a glare in the direction of the kitchen.
"Don't be mad," Lexa soothed and hung up her coat on the wall before sliding back into Clarke's space.
Her hands settled low on Clarke's waist, thumbs brushing over the swells of her hip bones that peeked out from beneath her shirt.
Clarke felt a rush of heat flare through her as Lexa bent down and kissed her. Kissed her slow, and full, with the careless intensity that left Clarke spinning. That languidness Clarke had been struggling so hard to describe. She felt a moan against her mouth as Lexa pulled back with a smile. Barely reigning in a pleased smile of her own, Clarke worked to keep a straight face as she poked a finger to the flat of Lexa's chest.
"Hello to you too, handsy."
"What?" Lexa whispered, eyes twinkling in the dim light filtering from the doorway a few feet away.
"We're in Raven's front hall."
"And? I don't see anyone else with us."
"Ya can't just cop a feel every single time someone isn't looking."
"'Cop a feel?' You mean like this?"
Clarke sucked in a breath as Lexa surged forward again, the length of her body pressing along Clarke's front as hands wrapped around her backside and squeezed.
"Lex--"
"Lexa, hey, you made it!"
A reproachful yelp died in Clarke's throat as the new voice called from around the corner, her mind working just fast enough to thrust her hips forward to send Lexa a few stumbling steps back.
Clarke shot up off the wall and turned as Raven emerged from the kitchen, an inviting smile on her lips even as sharp eyes slid between the two.
"Here I am," Lexa said without missing a beat, bending down to retrieve the all-but-forgotten drinks. "Complete with alcoholic party favors."
"Oooo. A woman after my own heart," Raven leered as she drew even, taking the pack from Lexa's hand and bussing a kiss to her cheek. "I'm gonna go pop these in the fridge, but make yourself at home. Clarke knows where everything is if you want anything. And dinner should be done any minute. Sound good?"
Lexa nodded as Raven flashed her another smile and turned to leave, Clarke barely resisting the urge to throw a middle finger up when Raven mouthed a silent 'lock it down, bitch' on her way out.
"Okay, new rules," Clarke sighed as she tugged Lexa by the elbow down the hall. "Since apparently my very well thought out guidelines for us around people are apparently useless, let's just get through tonight unscathed, please? Yes, obviously Raven knows we're…"
"... Fucking?"
"Lexa."
"Friendly fucking."
"This is gonna be a disaster," Clarke mumbled to herself, reaching up to rub at her temples. "Yes, Raven knows. Yes, I'm okay with it. Just… please try to at least keep your hands in appropriate places. And no offering up details about… this. Us. I know you think it's hilarious to embarrass me to the point of wanting to run screaming from any given room, but in reality, Raven wouldn't let me live it down for weeks. So. Behave... Behave-ish. Aim for like a three on a scale of one to... you."
"I promise, gorgeous, don't worry," Lexa whispered, leaning in to nuzzle a spot beneath Clarke's ear as they rounded the corner into the front room. "I'll be such a good girl for you."
"Jesus Christ, Lex."
Quickly pulling back, Lexa shot her a devious smile, lip firmly planted between her teeth despite Clarke's shove to her shoulder. A throat clearing stifled the flustered rebuke that teetered on Clarke's tongue as the crack of a book closing sounded through the room.
"Sorry, I would've met you out there, but Raven said to give you a minute," Anya said airily as she tossed the book in her hands onto the table with a thunk and turned. "I'm Anya, Raven's…"
Anya's words seemed to die in her throat as she ground to a halt halfway around the far end of the couch.
Clarke watched as the bored set of her eyes sharpened. Widened.
A paleness slunk over her features as Anya stared at the woman at Clarke's side, Clarke's brow furrowing as she glanced between the startled look of her friend's wife and the relaxed grin on Lexa's face.
Throat bobbing through a few dry swallows, Anya's ribs expanded and released as she breathed in deeply.
"You're Raven's boss?"
Lexa gave a quiet chuckle, Clarke's heart jumping at the dark timbre of its sound.
"Guilty as charged."

Chapter 5: A Kiss is Just a Kiss
Emma stood on her balcony with her eyes closed, listening to the sounds of the ocean, the faint cry of the birds flying overhead, the rush of the wind in her ears. She felt truly at peace for the first time in a long time. She wished Henry could have been there to experience this with her. She had done everything with Henry for almost 7 years now, perhaps she didn’t know who she was without him around.
“Why aren’t you in your suit.” Ruby appeared behind her with her towel in her hand. “I thought we were going to the pool to sunbathe.”
“I was actually thinking that I want to go to this art auction I saw on the patter for today.”
Ruby’s face scrunched in disgust. “Eww, an art auction sounds horribly boring and stuffy. I didn’t even think you liked art.”
“I just wanted to check it out. It’s not like we would ever have the chance to go to an art auction back home?”
“Well, you enjoy that. When you get bored, you know where to find me.” She crinkled her nose and turned to leave.
Emma laughed. “I’ll probably see you in thirty minutes.”
Emma strolled through the hallways to try and find the location of the auction. August was right when he said it was easy to get lost on the ship. She was never sure if she was on the right floor or even on the right end of the ship. If you took all the floors end to end, it would be bigger than the town she lived in.
She noticed a group of people that were dressed nicer than most of the passengers on the ship heading into one of the lounges at the end of the hallway she was in. She looked down at her sun dress and started to worry that she might be underdressed to rub elbows with people who attended art auctions.
She peered into the room, easels set up with paintings on them and perched on each of the walls. Tentatively she wandered into the room, trying to make herself blend in with the rest of the passengers who were lazily walking through the art, nodding their heads, and whispering to each other. She leaned over to read a few of the inscriptions, many of the paintings were ocean themed.
“We meet again.”
Emma yelped and grabbed her chest, turning to face the man behind her.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to frighten you. Emma, right?”
Emma nodded, “Yes.”
“Where’s your…” He looked around the room. “Boyfriend? If you were mine, I wouldn’t let you out of my sight.”
Emma swallowed, sickened by the look on his face the way he said the word mine. So possessive as if she were an object. “Walsh was it?” she deflected.
“I made enough of an impression that at least you remembered my name.” Emma smiled politely and continued walking down the rows of art, hoping he would take the hint and leave her to her thoughts. “Which piece do you plan to bid on?”
Emma walked toward her favorite painting on the back wall, it was a ship sailing into the sunset. She looked at the price tag on the painting, choking softly when she read the price. There was no way she could afford to bid on any of the paintings, and this one was at least 3 months’ salary.
“Ah good taste, that’s a beautiful painting. I actually met the artist when I was in Paris last summer.”
Emma nodded, trying to act like this was a normal conversation she would be having back home with her friends. “Which one are you interested in?”
“Ah, I’m here for the piece de resistance, the Homer.”
Emma had no idea what he was talking about, but he led her to a painting in a gold frame at the front of the room. She glanced at the price tag and paled. “Oh, um yeah it’s…why would anyone pay this much for a canvas with some paint on it?”
He chuckled beside her, “I collect art, to hang in the halls of my businesses. This one will hang in the western hall of my bank in Switzerland.”
“Wow, that’s…” Boring, elitist, not of any interest to her! “very exciting.”
“Looks like they are about to begin, I should take my seat.”
She watched him walk to the front of the room and she immediately looked for a spot near the back of to observe the process without getting in the middle of the action.
~*~
Killian stood in the shadows watching Emma as she quietly walked through the rows of paintings in the gallery room. As Captain he tried to show up to at least a few events a day that were happening aboard his ship. He did not expect to find her at this one but was pleasantly surprised when her golden hair appeared on the other side of one of the paintings he had been admiring earlier.
He observed her for a few minutes, intending to make his presence known when the man from the bar approached her. He melted into the background of the room, watching as she politely conversed with Walsh. He could tell she wasn’t interested in the man. Killian knew his type, always thinking they were the most important person in the room, looking down on those that didn’t have the means to present themselves in the same manner as they did. He hated men like Walsh. The man didn’t deserve someone the likes of Emma. He supposed it was because he was one of those people that Walsh would look down his nose at.
Killian wasn’t really interested in the art event. Many of the pieces they were auctioning off were going for thousands of dollars, if not more. A waste of hard-earned money if you asked him. The man led Emma toward the main piece at the front of the room and Killian figured that would be the one a man like Walsh was here for. It was worth millions, the perfect item to throw around his elitist status when trying to impress a woman.
His was drawn out of his thoughts as the gavel hit the podium, signaling the start of the auction. Emma wandered to the back of the room as the auction began, sitting alone in the last row. He pushed away from the wall and strolled toward her, quietly taking the seat next to her.
~*~
Emma was very confused by the auction process, wands going up and down in front of her as each piece was brought forward. The artwork she liked the most was brought to the front and she tried to listen to the fast-talking auctioneer to see how much it would sell for. A wand in the front row shot up to open the bidding at $5,000. Another wand appeared and thus it went back and forth until the wand in the front won the piece for $7,500. That was the price she paid for her yellow bug back home, a car that got her to and from work every day.
She felt someone sit next to her and she stiffened. There were so many other seats available, why did they need to interrupt her isolation?
“I didn’t take you as an art connoisseur, Swan? Are you thinking of purchasing something?”
Emma relaxed as she looked up and saw her favorite Captain (did she know any other Captains?) sitting next to her, looking extremely good looking in his uniform. “Sure, I figure if I rent out my house and move back in with my brother and don’t eat for the next few months, I can afford at least one piece.”
He chuckled softly beside her. “Perhaps your rich suitor could purchase it for you.”
She watched as he stared straight ahead, and she smiled to herself. “Jealous, Captain?”
He nodded, “Perhaps.”
Her heart was racing, she was being completely ridiculous and irresponsible right now. “This is boring.” She leaned closer to him and whispered.
“Perhaps a personal tour of my ship would be more enticing for you?”
Does it include your bedroom?  Emma mentally slapped herself for the thought. Snap out of it, Emma.
“A personal tour from the Captain, how could I say no.”
Their eyes met and she swore she saw a glint of something else hidden beneath those electric blue eyes, he stood quickly and slipped out the back door, Emma following closely behind.
She watched him intensely as he spoke reverently about every piece of the ship like it was something personal to him.
“You talk about the ship like it’s a person.”
“Aye, in a way she is. A Captain’s ship is always his mistress and she should be treated with respect.”
Emma tried to memorize the reverence on his face as he spoke, he had never heard anyone talk so eloquently about some boards and planks. She found herself wondering how he treated a woman with flesh and bones, needs, and desires.
Focus Emma.
They continued their tour, walking through the dining room she ate in twice a day toward a room with a table in the back that she had not noticed before.
“You have your own dining table?”
“It’s actually called the Captain’s table, not very original, but yes. It is used to invite VIP guests to join me at dinner a few times during the cruise, its customary and quite formal.”
“I bet you get all the best food.”
“I suppose a Captain does eat well.” He laughed, the timber of his voice playing in her ears as it was slowly becoming her favorite melody. She needed to stop staring at him like she was a 13-year-old girl with her first crush. But she quickly found that the alternative of gazing at him like he was a plate full of food and she hadn’t eaten in months was a more dangerous scenario.
They climbed the stairs which opened into a huge room, wall to floor windows, equipment littered at each station that was either blinking or moving in lines across the screen. It was overwhelming. “Wow, do you have to know how to use all of this equipment?”
“I don’t personally use it all, but I do have the capability and understanding of each station, yes.” He nodded to a portly man at the end of the bridge. “Afternoon, Officer. Emma, this is First Officer Smee, he is currently on watch.”
“Afternoon Ma’am.”
“Are you sailing the ship on your own right now?” Emma exclaimed looking around and not seeing many other people on the bridge.
Killian laughed, “Don’t share our secrets here, Emma, but most of the time the ship sails herself. I’m barely needed to sail her. It’s all in the computers now.”
“He’s being modest.” Smee interrupted. “The Captain does more than sail her, he’s in charge of everyone on board, keeps the ship running smoothly, and ensures we don’t crash her into each port.”
“Thank you, Smee. Happy to see I’ve at least impressed someone.” He turned toward Emma. “Shall I show you the controls?” Smee excused himself to allow them to wander the bridge in private.
“I have no idea how you know what all these buttons and knobs. I think this would give me anxiety being responsible for all of this.”
“Extensive training, love. They don’t let just anyone take on such precious cargo.” Her heart sped up as his eyes bore into hers. God he was gorgeous. She backed up into one of the control panels, her hand coming to rest on the counter.
“Careful love, if you push that button, you’ll take us off course.” She jumped, pulling her hand off the console and grabbing at her chest which elicited a gruff laugh from him, his eyes slipping down to her lips.
“Thank you again for the tour, I really appreciate you showing me around.” She said, her voice barely above a whisper as he continued to step closer to her.
“Aye, your gratitude is much appreciated.” His hands rested on either side of her, the heat from his body radiating against her hips. She stared at his mouth longer than she should before dragging her eyes upward to meet his. They were darker than she remembered them earlier, his pupils larger. They were locked in a moment where neither spoke and Emma wasn’t sure what she wanted to happen next, just that she didn’t want it to stop.
Before she had time to anxiously weigh her options he leaned in and captured her lips with his own. His lips were soft and warm, and she could barely contain the beating of her own heart or the way she could feel it pounding in her ears, tiny explosions of light projecting on the backs of her eyelids as she pressed forward against him. Her hands came up to rest on his chest, the crisp fabric of his uniform sliding against her palms.
Suddenly he pulled away from her, looking between them toward the floor and shaking his head. “Apologies, Miss Swan, that was inappropriate.” He stepped back and wandered toward the window, looking down at the deck below them.
She took a deep breath and approached him, admiring his profile, his jaw clenched, his eyes focused on the unaware passengers who were going about their day. “It must be a lot of pressure being responsible for so many people.”
“Aye.”
“Then we are very lucky that you’re our Captain.” She added, trying to lighten the mood which had suddenly become tense. She tried to quiet her own disappointment from his change of mood, wondering if he regretted what had just happened because of his status and the public display or because it was her.

Killian cursed himself for kissing Emma. He was the Captain of the ship and he just kissed a passenger on the bloody bridge while in uniform. He had no idea what had come over him to behave so reprehensively.
Besides that, Emma had already told him that she wasn’t here to meet a guy and then he went and kissed the woman. Of course, there was also the matter that he wasn’t interested in a relationship either, he hadn’t been with a woman since Milah had died. But suddenly standing on the bridge with Emma, he wanted nothing more than to kiss her and then he bloody well went and did it.
Idiot.
He glanced to his left to see the woman staring out at the ocean asking him about the pressure he was under in his position. God she was beautiful. He glanced away, hoping it would stop him from the irrational thought of pulling her into his arms and claiming her lips again. “I’m sure you have a vacation to get back to, I don’t want to monopolize all of your time.”
She looked up at him, their eyes meeting for mere moments but enough to cause the hairs on his arm to stand on end. He needed to get his shit together. Instead of agreeing, she brushed her hand against his sleeve, running her fingers along his stripes, something she seemed mesmerized by on their previous occasion. “I’m supposed to meet Ruby at the pool for some sunbathing.”
Images of her in a bikini laying in the sun came to mind and he coughed into his hand. “I would hate to keep you from such an important activity.”
She stepped toward him, a playful smile forming on her lips. “Deck 12, if you’re into watching…to ensure my safety.” Her tongue darted out across her bottom lip.
Was she hitting on him?
He watched her slip away down the stairs, his frozen incompetent brain never catching up with his mouth to allow for a single word in response to her.
~*~
Emma had no idea what had gotten into her. She came on this ship not wanting to hook up but damn it if she didn’t need more of Captain Killian Jones. She didn’t know exactly why he apologized for kissing her, but she was going to make sure he understood that she didn’t regret him doing it. It’s not like she was going to see him again after she got off the ship. Wasn’t she supposed to be here to have a little fun?
She knew he was interested in her or he wouldn’t have kissed her. She may not have been with a man for seven years, but she knew what desire was and what she witnessed in his eyes before he kissed her was pure need.
Emma found Ruby lying by the pool and she sat down in the chair beside her. “Where have you been? I almost gave up waiting for you.”
“Sorry, I got distracted.” She said with a smirk on her face.
Her friend pushed her sunglasses up on her head. “Distracted by who?”
“Why do you assume it’s a who? There’s a lot of things on this ship to get distracted by.”
“Because I know you. You’re flushed and you keep biting your lip. Was it Graham?”
“I’ve barely talked to him.” She shrugged.
“You don’t have to talk to him to get horny, Em.”
She put her sunglasses on and lay back. “I’m bored talking about this.”
“You’re really no fun.” She pouted.
~*~
Killian knew he should stay the hell away from deck 12, he was too worked up to watch her sunning her half naked body. He should go to his room, take a cold shower, and enjoy a nap. Instead, he found himself on deck 13, staring down into the pool below, scanning the passengers for the woman who was driving him mad.
A kiss is just a kiss, right?
When he caught sight of her, he shifted against the balcony, his body reacting immediately to seeing her laid out below him. He hadn’t even looked at another woman in three years, not since Milah. But he wanted this woman, he needed to have her, to devour her, to feel her underneath him. And now that he had tasted her, he craved more.
“See something you like?” Killian jumped, turning toward Robin’s voice.
“Must you sneak up on me?” He stood beside him, staring down below them.
“Nice view.” He smirked.
“I’m just checking in on the passengers to ensure all is well.”
“Ah, just doing your duty then?”
Killian figured the best way to answer him was to ignore the question completely. “How did it go with Regina after I left you at the bar? I’m guessing from your presence here that she didn’t injure you.”
He laughed, “Well after you ran out on us, she wasn’t too pleased to be left alone with me. But she didn’t leave either.”
“Such blazing progress.” He teased. “You’ll be married before we reach the next port, should I brush up on my officiating duties?”
~*~
“There you are.” Emma wrapped her arms around August’s waist and hugged him tightly. “I haven’t seen you all day, where have you been?”
“Oh, um, I’ve been giving the ankle a rest.”
“Visiting the med bay, again? Maybe requiring your own personal nurse?” She questioned, noticing the new bandages wrapped around his foot.
“Just how do you know Captain Jones?” He diverted with a grin.
“Well played, sir.” She turned toward their friends, “Shall we?”
They took their seats at the table, Emma noticing that they had another guest at the table tonight. Graham was sitting on the other side of Ruby, embroiled in deep conversation.
“Tell me, is it true that William once drank an entire bottle of whiskey before the end of his shift?” Belle asked her as she sat down
“I didn’t say the whole bottle.” Will interrupted Belle.
“Most likely true, he enjoys clearing me out of my good whiskey.” August laughed.
“Not all in one day, that would make me a thief.” Will’s affronted reply coming quickly.
“You are a thief.” Ruby teased.
“You stole my heart.” Belle cooed and Will stared at her. His face crumpled, conflict littering his features. She knew he liked the girl, but she was also sure that if he did have feelings toward her, he would confuse them with his pining for Ana.
She simply smiled at him at the table and waited until they returned to their rooms to approach him. Since Ruby was getting a nightcap with Graham, she used the opportunity to invite Will to escort her back to her room.
“Delivered safe and sound.” He announced as she opened her door.
“So, Belle’s nice.” She said casually.
“Oi, this was a setup, wasn’t it? You didn’t need me to walk you to your room at all.”
“Nope, I just wanted to check up on you. You’ve been spending a lot of time with her.”
“She’s nice, I like chatting with her.”
“But…” Emma pulled him into her room.
“But I feel like I’m cheating on Ana.” He whined and Emma sat down on her bed and patted the spot beside her. He grumbled but took the seat, reaching over to take his hand.
“I’m going to say something to you, and I need you to listen to me, ok?” He shook his head. “And you can’t get mad at me because what I’m about to say is said in love.”
“Get it over with.” He exhaled, rolling his eyes.
“Ana was a bitch.” She held up her hand to stop him from interrupting. “She used you for whatever she could take and then she left. She’s gone and she’s not coming back. And I think you know that, and you use it, so you don’t have to put yourself back out there, so you don’t get hurt like that again.”
His shoulders sagged. “I can’t go through that again.” He whispered. “She damn near ruined me.”
“I know.” She wrapped her arms around his waist, remembering the night Ana left. He had called her after midnight, barely about to understand a word on the phone. By the time she arrived at his apartment he was a blubbering mess, crying on her shoulder, both of them drinking through the night until they fell asleep on the sofa. He had gone through phases of anger and depression, but never acceptance. “I was there, remember? There was a lot of whiskey involved.” He chuckled, a tear spilling from his eye. “But honey, you deserve to be happy, you’re a great guy.”
“Are you trying to have sex with me right now, because I’ve never considered it, but you could convince me.”
She smacked him on the back of the head. “Don’t ruin this moment, William.”
“Ow, ya bloody brat.”
“I love you; you’ve been my best friend through everything, and I want you to be happy. But to do that you have to put yourself out there.”
“Is this lecture for me or you?”
“Hey, we’re talking about you here.”
He laughed and then reached over and pulled her against his chest, falling back onto the bed together. “I love you too.” He nuzzled into her neck, “You could still convince me, this is a really good moment.” She pulled back and shoved him away from her. “I mean, this is a great start, maybe I’d enjoy it rough coming from you.”
“Will!”
“Ok, ok, I know, you can’t handle all of this.” He stood up from the bed and turned to leave. “What’s that?” He gestured to their desk in the corner of the room and the object sitting on it. Emma paled. Sitting on the desk was the painting she had been admiring during the auction. The one that sold for $7,500 earlier today. “Who’s Walsh?” he passed her the note attached to the paining.
A painting of great beauty deserves to be owned by an equally beautiful woman.
Yours, Walsh

Schneeplestein Apparently Has a Heart
The good doctor’s birthday is here and of course I wrote a story! Just warning, this story is quite dark. Read the trigger warnings below.
TW: Suicide attempt by gunshot (not seen, just implied), suicidal thoughts and words, extreme distress, minor violence, blood mentioned.
For the short amount of time that Jackieboy Man and Marvin the Magnificent have lived with Dr. Henrik Nicholas von Schneeplestein, MD, PhD, MVP, FFS, they have learned a few important lessons, or rules:
NEVER, under any circumstances, touch the top left cupboard on the outside of the kitchen opening. That’s where Schneep’s coffee supply is, and if you touch it, even ONCE, Schneep will be out for your blood.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you mention Schneep’s wife, Lisette Schneeplestein. Apparently, the French brunette whom Schneep has been married to for the past 7 years has fucked off (Schneep’s words) back to France with her tennis instructor, Rick, short for Ricardo (Italian, apparently) and taken their two daughters with her. (Schneep has cleaned out Lisette and the girls’ rooms, and all the belongings they have left behind, in their efforts to leave so quickly, are packed away in storage containers in the garage. Schneep has yet to mail them to Lisette’s new address.)
DO NOT wake Schneep earlier than 10 AM in the morning if it’s his one day off. Despite having an early bird’s job, Schneep is not a morning person. Another reason why Schneep is dependent on coffee.
UNLESS it is an emergency, no one but Schneep is allowed in his office. As there are so many things to keep track of, and so many papers that could easily be misplaced, it is best not to touch, or even go inside the office, lest you want to throw the doctor off his game or have the doctor throw you off a cliff.
Despite these four unspoken yet very specific rules, Marvin and Jackie have learned one more this past month: despite the doctor’s arrogant, haughty, snappy, disgusting, even FERAL demeanour, he truly is a good person.
It just took a new ego to show them that.
March 30th, 2017. Schneep’s mail has been unceremoniously thrown onto the dining room table. Schneep’s hands, long and graceful, slide through the envelopes and fliers, organizing them into piles, from taxes and business inquiries to subscriptions and sales.
Jackie lazily eats his cereal, watching Schneep sort through the mail like a madman. Geez, just how popular is this guy?! It’s almost as wild as Jack’s mail. At least there’s more interesting stuff for Jack... drawings, letters of encouragement and thanks, even the rare crocheted or sculpted gift.
Schneep freezes when he comes across a particular letter, one with a cutesy pin cupcake logo. His eyes grow solemn as he picks it up and shakily opens it. Jackie cocks his head.
“Something wrong, doctor?” he asks lightly.
Schneep looks up. “Hm? Oh!” He sighs. “It’s from a baking class Sophia and I used to take together. Lisette had insisted I learn how to cook as well, so it wouldn’t always be her making the meals, and she figured it would be good bonding for me and Sophia. Soph loved those classes. We’d learn all sorts of fascinating recipes and bring the results home. They were fun, and very sweet.”
Jackie nods seriously. He knows he should leave it there, but something’s confusing him. “It’s been quite a few months since you stopped going. Why are they sending you stuff now?”
Schneep unfolds the letter. As he reads it, his eyes widen and a smile begins curling at his lips.
Somehow, that only makes more questions. “What…?”
“It’s not the company themself, it’s Chase! He was a friend from the classes! I haven’t spoken to him in forever! He’s such a lovely person, it’d be nice to see him again!” Schneep grabs his phone and hastily types in the number at the bottom of the letter. He squeals and runs off, like a teenager who just got a text from their crush.
The letter lies on the table, open for all to read. Jackie knows better than to pry into other people’s lives, but this letter is wide open, and it’s not like Schneep needs to know, so the superhero leans over and reads.
Hey Henrik,
This is probably weird to get, but I lost your phone number and I don’t know what your address is, so I asked the dudes at the baking class if I could send a letter to you via their services.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other, and I thought I’d better check in and see how you’re doing, see how bachelor life is treating you. Stacy and the kids miss seeing you as well. I wanna talk to you again.
My cell is #1273-545-8903.
Hope to see you soon!
Chase Brody
Chase Brody. That sounds like an American to Jackie’s ears. He does seem like a good person, if Schneep’s reaction wasn’t enough. He must have been a friend for Schneep when the doctor went through his divorce.
The name itself sounds familiar, like a local celebrity or something. Jackie makes a mental note to look it up later. He leans back and finishes his cereal just as Schneep comes back, holding his phone out. Marvin finally emerges, his green hair resembling a rat’s nest, and no mask. Jackie takes pride in the fact that Marvin now feels comfortable enough to show his face in front of Schneep and Jackie.
“Well, change of plans, I won’t be able to come home in time for dinner with you guys,” Schneep announces. Jackie nods.
“Wait what? Why?” Marvin slurs, slumping down at the dining room table.
“I’m going to see Chase after my shift today. We agreed to meet in the park,” Schneep explains curtly, and leaves.
“Did I miss something?” Marvin asks, turning to Jackie. Jackie nods down to the letter. Marvin leans over to read, only for the letter to be snatched up by the doctor.
“Who said you could go through my stuff?!” Schneep snapped. He stormed off, letter clutched firmly in his hand. Marvin sneers at Jackie, who only shrugs and winks. The magician rolls his eyes, but he understands. A shrug and a wink means I’ll tell you later.
Schneep throws on his brown coat and grabs his bag. “Have a nice day, boys. If I don’t see you later tonight, sweet dreams and I’ll see you in the morning.” He flies out, coat flapping behind him.
“He’s gotta show me how he rocks an overcoat so well. I’m jealous of the way he holds himself. So professional,” Marvin remarks. He quickly turns to Jackie. “Spill the tea.”
“Schneep’s meeting an old friend from a baking class he used to take with his daughter,” Jackie says. “His name is Chase Brody. The name sounds so familiar to me, and I don’t know why.”
“Look it up on your phone,” Marvin suggests. Jackie does just that.
Immediately, Wikipedia comes to the egos’ rescue. Chase Brody, (born April 11th, 1988)  is an American-Irish Youtuber who is best known for his Youtube channel, Bro Average. As of February 2017, his channel has over 20 million views and over 10 million subscribers.
“Oh yeah, the trickshot vlogger!” Jackie says. “I like watching his stuff, he’s a funny dude.”
Marvin nods. “He must have kids as well.  He wouldn’t be taking classes if he didn’t.”
Jackie scrolls down to Personal Life. “‘Chase is married to Stacy Matthews, and they have three children as of 2017, two biological twins, and one recently adopted daughter.’” The selfie provided shows a man with fair skin and bright blue eyes standing next to a red-headed lady doing a duckface.
“Hm. Sounds like he’s living the good life,” Marvin says. “A well-paid job, a nice family, a happy life.”
Boy, is he wrong.
At 5 PM exactly, Schneep sits at the bench by the great oak tree, waiting for Chase. He wraps his blue and navy scarf tighter around his neck as a cool breeze whisks by. Despite what the weather people promised, Athlone is nowhere near warm, despite it being spring. He examines the park-goers who walk by, picking up on every accident that could occur.
Parents swinging their child up and down: a broken arm, arms could pull out of their sockets, or the child could fall on their head and get a concussion. Or worse, permanent brain injuries.
Kids climbing trees: Another chance to fall and hit their tiny heads and sustain brain damage, if not that, broken limbs and splinters.
Teenagers skateboarding: more broken bones and limbs, but at least SOME are smart enough to put pads and helmets on. Others have no chance of recovering fully from brain damage or concussions should they fall on their heads-
“Henrik!” Henrik snaps to life and looks around. A man wearing a puffy black jacket, torn jeans and a snapback with a pink skull on it runs over to him. Schneep stands up.
“Chase Brody! Wie geht es dir mein freund?” Schneep cries out in delight, holding his arms out. Chase happily throws himself into them.
“I’m doing as well as I can, at least. It’s so good to see your face,” Chase sighs. He nuzzles Henrik’s hair, taking in the sanitizer and mint smell he’s gotten used to. “I’ve missed you.”
“The feeling is mutual,” Schneep says. “Come, sit down next to me! Tell me how things have been.  How are Stacy and your kids? Has Chloe adjusted to the new timezone yet?” Chloe is Chase’s recently adopted daughter from China. Schneep’s last visit with the Brody’s involved meeting her.
Chase’s smile fades and he sits down next to Schneep. “Um…”
Schneep’s stomach sinks. “That’s never good. What happened? Who died?!”
“Calm down, Henrik!” Chase exclaims. “No one died! Everyone’s fine. Chloe’s adjusted quite nicely.”
“Then why do you look so sad?!” Schneep cries.
Chase fidgets with his jacket zipper, mumbling incomprehensibly. Henrik leans closer. “Didn’t catch that.”
“StacyandIaregettingadivorce,” Chase whispers. Schneep’s stomach flips and sinks.
“What?”
“Stacy and I are getting divorced,” Chase repeats, louder now. “She said she still loves me, but not quite in a… romantic way, I guess. She wants us to just be friends.”
“Well, at least she still wants to be on friendly terms, I guess!” Schneep says. “Still, I can’t believe it… you two were such a sweet couple… so in love…”
“There’s another reason why she wants a divorce,” Chase admits. Schneep’s eyes turn wide as saucers.
“She’s seeing someone. An old friend from high school. I’ve seen her texts,” Chase says. He scrunches up the end of his shirt, nose wrinkling. Schneep hears him sniff.
“I don’t know how long it’s gone on… and I know she didn’t mean to… but still…” Chase finally looks up, eyes tearing. “How could she do that? I would have been okay with it! Maybe. I don’t know!” Chase buries his face in his hands.
Schneep pats Chase’s shoulder gently. He can’t believe Stacy cheated! She and Chase were such a romantic couple! They seemed so happy! Why would Stacy throw that all away for some whore? “What a bitch…”
Chase suddenly whacks Schneep’s hand off, eyes fierce. “Don’t call her that! It’s not like that!  At least she still wants me in her life! She’s not like Lisette!” An awkward silence fills the air.
Chase gasps. “Henrik, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean it that way-”
“Oh!” Schneep cries. “It’s fine! It’s no big deal!” Yeah, that was a low blow, but he would rather Chase doesn’t end up like him: cranky, alienating, friendless, alone. He needs a friend more than ever.
“No it’s not, I just sunk really low! You must be furious-”
“I’m not, I promise!” He’s not, surprisingly. Is this growth?! What the fuck?!
“I need to control myself better. I’m a grownup, for fuck’s sake, I should know better…” Chase moans, burrowing his head in his hands again.
“Chase!” Schneep exclaims. “You mustn’t beat yourself up like that! You’re one of my very best friends, which isn’t saying much because I don’t have any, but still! You have to be one of the nicest people I know! You’re anything but a dick!”
“I feel like you’re just saying that to make me feel better,” Chase mumbles, rubbing his eyes.
“I’m not, I swear !” Schneep says.
“I’m sorry, Henrik, I really am,” Chase says.
“I forgive you,” Schneep says, and means it. “I’m serious.”
“I should go,” Chase decides, standing. Schneep gets up as well.
“What? No! I’m not mad!” he protests.
“It’s my turn to pick the kids up,” Chase snaps. “I’ll see you around, Henrik. Sorry I can’t stay long.” He briskly runs off.
Schneeplestein yells and kicks the bench. “FUCK! FUCK! AAAHHH!!!”
Other park visitors turn in confusion, watching the strange man kick the bench and scream.
Schneep freezes when he notices everyone staring at him. He storms back to his car, slams the door shut and continues his screaming.
Once Schneep has finished “releasing his anger” (Jackie’s words, not his) he “reflects on the situation” (also Jackie’s words). What could he do to make Chase feel better?
He stays in the car for an hour, letting the world pass by as he thinks. By the time the sun has set, he has an idea.
Jackie and Marvin glare at each other from across the hall. Sirius the cat has hidden, choosing not to get involved. The little pegs in the cribbage board are neck-in-neck, both pegs exactly 4 steps away from the end hole. The egos stare at their cards.
“Four,” Jackie announces, putting the card down.
“Fourteen,” Marvin says.
The door flies open and Schneep rushes in, hair windswept and out of breath. “Where’s Jack?!” he demands.
“Out in his universe,” Jackie responds. “Fifteen for two!” He puts down an ace.
“Sixteen for two!” Marvin slams the ace down, looking triumphant. Jackie flips him off.
“When will he visit?!” Schneep questions.
“When he wishes,” Jackie responds. “Twenty-five!”
“How can I contact him?!”
“Why are you so interested?!” Marvin asks. “Thirty-one, bitch!” He flips Jackie off.
“I have a request for him!” Schneep responds curtly.
“What kind?” Jackie asks.
“It’s for a friend,” Schneep brushes him off, heading to his lab.
“Chase Brody?” Marvin guesses. Jackie kicks him.
Schneep turns around. “What did you say?”
Marvin gulps. “You left your letter on the table for me to read. I was fast enough to catch the gist before you snatched it up. So how is Chase Brody?”
Schneep growls softly and walks back to the table. Marvin sits up with his head held high, bracing himself for the punishment. No matter what Schneep does, slugging, kicking, ruining his hair, the magician can take it.  He’s been through worse.
To Marvin and Jackie’s surprise, Schneep pulls up a chair and sits down. The doctor takes a deep breath. “Chase Brody is divorcing his wife. That’s all I’m going to say.”
Jackie and Marvin nod in understanding. “That’s sad to hear,” Jackie remarks, solemnly.
“But how’s talking to Jack going to help?” Marvin queries.
“I want him to make a video for Chase,” Schneep says. “If this so-called community exists, I want to see them show their love for Chase! It’s the least he deserves!”
Marvin and Jackie catch each other’s gaze. Schneep glares at Jackie expectantly.
“Well? You’ve lived with Jack the longest. How do you contact him?!” Schneep demands.
“I have his number in case of emergencies, but I’ve never had a reason to call him! I don’t even know if he’s available,” Jackie explains.
“He has to be.  What else does a man who plays video games for a living do?!” Schneep snaps, incredulous. “It’s not like he has to be places or anything!” He looms over Jackie, a desperate, pleading look in his eyes. Jackie nearly topples out of his chair.
“I guess I could give it a shot,” the superhero mumbles.
Schneep squeals in delight and wraps his arms tightly around Jackie in what Jackie assumes to be a hug. The superhero pats the doctor’s arms, taken aback by his strength.
After a few sickeningly sweet seconds, Marvin pipes up, “Uh, doc? I think Jackie needs to be able to breathe in order to call Jack.”
Sheepishly, Schneeplestein lets Jackie go. The superhero gulps in big gasps of air, before grabbing his phone and dialing Jack’s number.
A day later, Jack McLoughlin sits at the egos’ dining room table, chomping away on mashed potatoes and a juicy steak.
“My goodness, you never told me what a good chef you were, Schneep!” he sighs in ecstasy.
Schneep bows his head, face glowing red. Jackie raises an eyebrow. Schneep almost NEVER blushes when given a compliment. It’s strange to see the doctor act so shy and humble around someone, especially Jack. It feels like only yesterday Schneep was bombarding Jack with questions about where he came from and how the alternate universe worked. Since that day, Jack has quickly risen to become one of Schneep’s favourite people on the planet. Not that Jackie is jealous or anything…
“Just a little recipe I learned for my wife…” Schneep mutters, playing with the end of his lab coat. Across the table, Marvin snickers lightly, watching the doctor fumble for words. Finally, some entertainment!
“So, what was the call for?” Jack asks. “Just wanted to say hi?” His expression darkens. “Is it Anti? What did he do?!”
“It’s not Anti.  We haven’t heard from him for a while!” Jackie says. Jack sighs in relief.
“I mean, I know I made that video for PAX and all but I just wanted to make sure,” Jack says.
“You made an Anti video for PAX?!” Marvin cries. “Why?”
“Because the fans would enjoy it! Also because I was running out of ideas for what to do for an opening,” Jack admits. “It just seemed like the right amount of fun and originality without being too over the top!”
“When is Anti not over the top?” Jackie scoffs. That earns a laugh from the others.
“Actually, it’s Schneep who has a question for you,” Marvin says.
Jack turns to Schneeplestein. Schneep’s smile disappears. He looks around the table, watching everyone’s gaze. He grins nervously at Jack.
“Could I ask you in private? This stuff… it is… personal.”
“Sure. Let’s go,” Jack says, standing up. Schneep follows after him.
In the upstairs hallway, Schneep spills everything. He explains who Chase is, what’s going on in his life, and how he believes making Chase an ego could help his situation.
“Make another ego? Oh god, I’m having enough trouble managing you all right now,” Jack admits.
“All you have to do is make one video. The fans can do the rest,” Schneep presses.
“How?”
“By showing their love for Chase! He’s a funny and sweet guy! Your fans would love him!”
“How will the community’s love help a man struggling with a divorce?” Jack questions.
“Their love will lift his spirits and he will feel more confident and happy! You said you noticed a difference in us after the community made content of us! If that is really true, then I want to see them show their love for Chase. It’s the least he deserves!”
Jack is silent, contemplating the pros and cons. Finally, he sighs and says, “Can you show me what he usually does?”
Schneep types something into his phone. He logs onto Youtube and types a channel name into the search bar. Bro Average.
“Bro Average? Is that a parody of Dude Perfect?” Jack asks, chuckling.
“Well, it’s because there’s only one person performing every stunt, and because it’s less... professional than the other channel,” Schneep explains. “For example-”
The video shows Chase at a park, holding a Nerf gun and wearing a goofy grin. “Sup, guys! I’m Chase, and welcome to Bro Average!” He shoots a nerf dart off-screen, only for it to crash into something, invoking a cat screech. Chase pretends to be startled.
It flashes forward to Chase in a tree. “This one’s called, ‘Multitasking’!” He hangs off a branch while trying to knock over six cups stacked up on each other with darts. Jack can’t stop snickering at Chase’s antics, as he wobbles and threatens to lose his balance. Chase yelps and squeals, and a few times, swearing can be heard, though it’s censored by loud beeps. Finally, Chase hits his target, just as the branch snaps. Chase whoops with glee as he crashes onto the ground, the branch smacking into his head. His cameraman runs over to him, worried, but Chase is rolling on the ground in laughter as tears run down his face.
“He is not nearly as good as the professionals, but his humour and authenticness bring in the fans,” Schneep says, smiling.
“He sounds like a blast!” Jack takes the phone and begins to skim through Chase’s videos. “I bet I could make something work! I’ll borrow an office space, bring a couple friends and film a few shots! Can’t be that hard!”
“So you will do it?!” Schneep cries.
“Absolutely! Give me a couple days and it will be ready!”
Schneep cheers and engulfs Jack in a bear hug. Jack laughs and pats his friend’s back. It’s nice to see the doctor open up at last to his new roommates and creator, and so quickly, as well. Jack decides Schneep can be rewarded for his good nature by granting his wish and helping out a new friend.
A few weeks pass. Schneeplestein schedules more visits with Chase. The two fathers laugh and chat, learning more about each other and discussing whatever they please without the worry of kids hearing. Schneep feels his spirits lift whenever he sees Chase’s snapback and hears his cheerful voice.
In the night, a familiar sensation returns to the egos’ dreams. Sounds of a Nerf gun, kids laughing and on the rare occasion, a man crying fills the egos’ heads as they sleep. Schneep feels his heart break when he hears Chase’s cries. He hopes this video will help Chase. It has to.
April 11th, 2017. The egos are gathered around the dining room table, Jack’s Youtube account open on his laptop.
Jack idly sits at the centre, waiting for Schneep to arrive with Chase. Marvin and Jackie play another round of cribbage, and this time Jackie seems to be way ahead on the board, much to the magician’s dismay.
“I’m going to be skunked! I hate this game so fucking much!” Marvin gripes, as he receives two points for his math efforts.
Jackie snickers as he counts his cards. “This takes both luck and skill. You’re a fast learner, Marv.  I’m sure you’ll pull through soon.”
“Not soon enough,” grumbles Marvin as Jackie moves his peg 16 points.
The door opens and Schneep walks in with Chase Brody right behind him. Compared to the laughing man with the warm aura in Google Images, this Chase looks cold and kind of grumpy.
“Chase, this is Jack McLoughlin, our ‘creator’ and a wonderful man,” Schneep introduces. Jack awkwardly holds his hand out for a shake. Even though he’s seen versions of himself several times this past year, it’s still rather unnerving to be given death stares by himself but with yellow hair, snapback and a fair share of freckles.
“Jack, this is Chase Brody, your newest ego and the face of Bro Average!” Schneep continues. Chase raises an eyebrow.
“Ego? Like alter ego?” Chase turns to the others, and realizes that they share the same hair and face. “Oh... my... dog. Am I a fictional character?! Is this a character intervention with the narrator?! Whatever happened, I promise, I didn’t do it! Sally encouraged me to eat the worm!” Chase kneels before Jack, cowering and whimpering.
Jack chuckles nervously. “Relax, Chase! Technically, you are a fictional character-” Chase shrieks in alarm.
“But only in another universe. You’re very much a real person in this one,” Schneep concludes, helping Chase up by the arm. Chase shakes the doctor off and Schneep tries his best to hide his hurt.
“To put it simply, some of the videos on my channel don’t exist in this universe. This is because they’re about you… egos,” Jack recites. “You’re the most recent ego, however, your video and beginnings are a bit different because I already had some course material to go off of.”
Jack clicks play on the video. Chase sits down and gasps as Jack-as-Chase flies around the office, performing trickshots and screaming like a toddler who drank too much apple juice. Is… is this him?! The accuracy! Holy shit! They even got his bloopers right! Creepy!!! Is he being stalked?!
Schneep watches from afar, fidgeting with his lab coat. Chase hasn’t moved once since the video started. He doesn’t look angry… but at the same time, he doesn’t seem to be enjoying his Power Hour. Truth be told, it’s not like the Doctor particularly likes his Power Hour either. Jack didn’t have to go and mention his cheating wife… or the fact that Peter did die at one point… Nonetheless, Chase is just sitting there, with wide eyes.
Jack, on the other hand, is already regretting what he did. Perhaps he emphasized too much on the “Not-As-Professional-Or-Successful” part. Maybe he made Chase too goofy or not as three-dimensional as he could have. The Youtuber catches a glimpse of the screen. Oh no. It’s the part with-
“Stacy, please, I know, I’m trying to get all the shots, look, just please don’t take the kids!” Jack-as-Chase pleads. Schneep and Jack-in-the-flesh turn white as a ghost. Chase frowns.
“This one’s called, ‘I’m Staying At My Sister’s This Weekend’!” Jack-as-Chase announces. It flashes back to him on the phone. “Well, I don’t care what your sister says! Just please! At least let me see them on the weekend still!”
Jack scratched his neck nervously and teethed on his knuckles, face beet red. Chase looks horrified. Schneep looks just as worried. Marvin and Jackie awkwardly stand up to leave.
Chase pauses the video just as Jack-as-Chase sobs. He takes a deep breath and turns to face his “creator”. “So… are you the reason my wife and I are getting a divorce?”
Jack gapes, taken aback by Chase’s accusation. He doesn’t want to throw Schneep under the bus, but at the same time, Chase wasn’t exactly “created” like the others-
“Not exactly!” Schneep interferes. “It… it was my idea. I thought if I got Jack to make a tribute video in honour of you, it would help you!”
“Help me?!” Chase laughs, a harsh and cold sound compared to his whoops and chuckles in his videos. “How?! By running my wife’s name through the dirt?!” Jack flinches.
“Fair enough,” Schneep says with a groan. “I should have been more specific when I said divorce and kids.”
“You told-?!”
“I thought if you knew you had a big name on your side you’d feel better! It was supposed to be a little treat!” Schneep counters.
“Oh, what am I, a little pity party to you?” Chase snaps. “My divorce was private information, Schneep.  Why else did you think I wanted to talk to you alone?! Now the whole world knows and Stacy’s going to be treated horribly because of you shits-”
“Not the whole world!” Schneep exclaims. “Just… all… of Jack’s world.”
“Shut up,” Chase hisses. “I don’t care that there’s more than one universe. So be it. What I care about is the fact that you betrayed my trust and now people are going to treat Stacy like she was a freaking bitch. This may come as a surprise to both you and Jack, but not all women are cheating whores like Lisette, asshole!”
SMACK. Chase cries out. The egos and Jack huddle together. Schneep’s breathing slows as he registers the sting in his hand and Chase rubbing his red cheek.
Schneep takes a deep breath, and in chilling, low, icy words, he snarls, “Don’t ever say her name again.”
Chase recovers from the slap and storms over to the door. “Whatever. You know what?! Stay away from me and whatever’s left of my family. I don’t care if I’m a part of your ‘creator’s’ story or whatever, I JUST WANT YOU OUT OF MY LIFE.” Chase grabs his coat and slams the door shut with a loud BANG. Schneep remains at the dining room, breathing unsteadily, vision somewhat blurry.
“Doctor? Are you alright?” Jackie whispers, reaching a hand out.
“DON’T TOUCH ME!” Schneep runs upstairs to his room and slams the door. Muffled sobs soon echo down the hallway.
Jack’s heart breaks in two. He really thought this video was a good idea. Somehow, all it brought was pain. He sighs defeatedly and slumps down at the table. Marvin closes the laptop.
“Shit… that was awful…”
“And it was supposed to be Chase’s birthday present!” Jack moans. “Ahhhhh, I feel like an asshole… I shouldn’t have been so mean…”
“It’s not your fault…” Jackie soothes. “You made an assumption and played it with satire. Schneep shares some of the blame as well. He should have kept that part quiet.”
“And I should have kept that out of the video…” Jack sighs. “Now Chase feels even worse about the divorce and he wants nothing to do with us…”
Jackie and Marvin sit down beside Jack and rub his back. Jack sighs again and rests his head on the table.
Upstairs, Schneep screams into his pillow, tears finally flowing. He hates himself and Chase and everything that’s happened. That’s what he gets for helping a friend. Ungrateful bastard-
No. Schneep should have known better! That was private information, he had no right poking his nose in and telling everyone. Well, it was just one person, but still! Now Chase never wants to speak to him again and he’s lost the only friend he’s had in a while and everything sucks and he just wants to curl up and die. Schneep pulls his hair and screams again. He can’t sleep, but at the same time, he can’t do anything else. So he remains in bed, crying and thinking. Eventually, long into the night, he falls asleep, cheeks wet and eyes sore.
Schneep wakes up feeling like absolute shit. His cheeks are somewhat sticky and damp. He must have been crying in his sleep. His stomach feels awful. But it’s a work day, so he gets out of bed.
Schneep stumbles into his ensuite bathroom and splashes cold water on his face. He shudders when he sees his reflection. Grey skin, messy hair, red eyes. He doesn’t smell so good either. Sighing sadly, Schneep throws off his clothes and turns on the shower faucet.
When he hops out of the shower, he puts on his scrubs and grabs his spare labcoat. He trudges downstairs, where Marvin is waiting with fluffy chocolate-chip pancakes on the table.
“Morning, doc,” Marvin greets cheerfully. His smile fades when he sees Schneep’s ashen face. “Everything alright?”
“I’m fine,” Schneep replies hoarsely.
“I made you some coffee,” Marvin continues. “I know you like it.”
Schneep grunts softly and pours himself a large cup. As he drinks he heads to the hook of keys by the front door, only to find-
“Where are my keys?” Schneep asks, staring at the space where his car keys used to hang.
“I saw Sirius knock them off earlier,” Marvin replies, flipping through the nearest magazine. “I tried to catch her, but she’s so fast.”
“Where is she right now?” Schneep inquires, trying to sound as calm as possible.
“Beats me. I can’t control her,” Marvin says calmly.
Schneep growls and pounds on the table. Marvin jumps slightly, but quickly recovers and goes back to his reading.
“This isn’t funny, Marvin.  I need to get to work!” Schneep snaps. “I’m already falling behind schedule.”
Marvin snorts, looking up from the magazine. “You think you’re fit to go to work? Your face is bright pink, you’ve got large shadows under your eyes and I heard you crying for who knows how many hours last night.”
“I have allergies! They were just acting up!” Schneep snaps.
“Oh, really? Allergies? That’s rich coming from the man who claims to have ‘the strongest immune system in the world’!” Marvin scoffs.
“Even the strongest immune systems have off days, okay?!”
“That doesn’t even make any sense! Henrik, are you even hearing yourself?!”
Schneep fights back more tears. “Marvin, please, tell me where the keys are! I can’t be late for work!”
“And you won’t be! I called the hospital and asked them to give you a day off!” Marvin says.
Schneep almost drops his mug. “You… you did what?!”
“I told them it was a family emergency,” Marvin admits. “And that we didn’t know how long it would be. They understood, told me to tell you to take as many days off as you need.”
“Which is none,” Schneep scowls. “I’m fine.”
“No you’re not.”
“Yes, I am!”
“Henrik, you said you didn’t want Chase to go through his divorce alone and friendless, like you. You’re going through a tough time right now.  The last thing you need is to be alone.”
Schneep gapes at the magician, tears threatening to fall. Marvin stares back, heart thumping loudly. He prays he didn’t say the wrong thing. He hopes this works.
Maybe it’s because he didn't get enough sleep, or maybe it’s because he’s never had anyone be so concerned for his well-being that they screwed up his schedule, but Henrik finally lets his anguish go, and collapses, bawling like a little baby. Marvin gets down from his seat and wraps his arms around the doctor, soothing him and singing softly.
Jackie finally emerges from the bathroom, and joins the cuddle pile in the kitchen. As Henrik finally slumps completely into Marvin’s arms, he and the superhero high-five and move the sleeping doctor into the living room for a day of Netflix and cuddles.
Five days pass. Henrik sits at his desk, tapping his pen. In front of him is the start of a letter, with only the words “Dear Chase,” written on it.  He needs to apologize to Chase, but just doing it by text seems insensitive. So written letter it is! Now… where to start…
Dear Chase,
I’m sorry. What I did was wrong and there’s no way to excuse my behaviour. I really believed I was doing the right thing by telling Jack, but I should have known better than to air dirty laundry.
The doctor shakes his head and crumples up the page. He can do better than that. Now to start over-
His phone begins playing the familiar sound of a monitor beeping. He really needs to change his ringtone.  It’s too painful to hear after all the dead patients that came with it.
Henrik freezes when he notices the name. Chase. Why is he calling? Heart thumping and hands shaking, Henrik picks up the phone.
“Hello? Chase?”
“H-hi, d-doc…” Chase answers in a raspy whisper. The sound of sniffling is not lost on Henrik.
“Chase? Are you okay?”
“Not really…” Another sniffle. “But I will be… soon.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m sorry for all the shit I said… It was wrong of me to bring up your own divorce… I-I shouldn’t have been so harsh…”
“No, Chase, I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have brought up your divorce in the first place! I thought I was doing good by telling Jack, but he clearly misinterpreted it. I shouldn’t have mentioned it…”
“It’s alright… you were just trying to make me feel bet-better… I just overreacted… I overreact to eve-everything… I’m such a bay-baby.” Chase sounds like he’s holding back tears.
“No you’re not. You had every right to be mad… I’m sorry for slapping you. How’s your cheek?”
Schneep hears Chase chuckle softly. “It’s fine… It doesn’t hurt as much as other injuries…” The laugh turns into a sob.
“Other injuries?! What do you mean?!” Henrik demands. “Chase, you’re worrying me!”
“I’m sorry… I can’t seem to do anything right… All I do is upset people…” Chase is outright crying now.
“Chase, please tell me where you are,” Henrik pleads, getting up. “I need to make sure you’re okay!”
“No… I don’t think you’ll want to see this…” Chase mumbles. He takes a deep but shuddery breath. “I have to go. Goodbye, Henrik.”
“Chase?! CHASE?!” Henrik screams. The phone line goes dead. Henrik yelps and quickly rushes into his contacts. He finds Stacy’s name and calls her.
She answers on the first ring. “Henrik? It’s been so long! How are you?”
“Where is Chase right now?”
“What?”
“Where is he living?”
“What’s going on? What did he say to you? Is he okay?”
“Call 999. I don’t believe so.”
Henrik hangs up and dashes out of his office, up the stairs and to the front door, where he grabs his keys and coat. Marvin and Jackie sit at the kitchen island, both on their phones.
“Henrik? What’s going on?”
“I have to go to the hospital. I’ll be back,” Henrik answers curtly. He throws on his coat and leaves.
Henrik runs into the hospital and quickly signs himself in. A nurse comes by and squeaks in surprise when she sees him.
“Dr. Schneeplestein? What are you doing here? Isn’t today your day off?”
“Time is broken, Cass,” Dr. Schneeplestein replies. He dashes off to the emergency room. Cass quickens her pace, trying her best to catch up to him.
“Have there been any emergencies yet?” Schneep demands.
“I think an ambulance is arriving soon-” Cass begins.
“Who’s the patient?” Schneep asks.
“A man attempted suicide-” Cass starts.
“I’ll treat him,” Schneep announces.
The doors open and medics rush in, driving a man on a gurney. Schneep pales when he sees red. The good doctor swallows his fear and tears. Now is not the time to be a baby. He’s not called the good doctor for nothing. Time to save Chase’s life.
Hours later, five nurses come in to find Dr. Schneeplestein exhaustedly sobbing against the wall, shoulders convulsing as he cries into his hands. On the gurney lies a man with yellow hair poking out of a large bandage wrapped around his head. The monitor beeps rhythmically, and the man’s chest rises and falls slowly. So why is the doctor crying?
Three nurses wheel Chase out while the other two bend down next to Schneep. One nurse, Kate, tentatively places a hand on his shoulder. He jumps in shock.
“Schneeplestein? Are you alright?” Kate asks.
Schneep smiles shakily. “He’ll live…” He shivers and whimpers. “Oh god… so much could have happened… So much could have gone wrong… I thought I lost him a few times...” the doctor breaks off with another sob.
“Why don’t you head home? Today is your day off,” Kate suggests.
“In a little while… I need to speak to the patient first…” Schneep replies in a raspy voice. Kate nods. She and the other nurse, Matt, help the doctor up. His legs wobble and almost give out. Schneep takes a deep breath and slowly  makes his way out of the operating room and into his office.
An hour later,  Henrik reappears, wearing his comfy labcoat and drinking some tea, a rarity considering how much the doctor prefers coffee. But he needs to relax, and so Matt whipped up a nice cup of tea.
Henrik pulls up a chair and sets his cup down. He looks down at the sleeping man, face as white as the bandage wrapped around his head. Chase has never looked more fragile and vulnerable. His cheeks are sunken and there are large bags under his eyes.
Henrik rubs his face. Truthfully, he’s just as tired. He looks up at the clock. 1:11 am. God, he was in the operating room for quite a while. He doesn’t think he’ll ever be as stressed as he was today. He leans back and closes his eyes. Maybe he can get a quick nap before-
“Dr. Schneeplestein?” He opens his eyes and looks up. His stomach flips when he notices a woman with red hair that falls in waves down her shoulders.  Her soft brown eyes are full of compassion and worry. Stacy Brody. Or Stacy Matthews, to be more precise.
“Stacy…” Henrik mumbles. “What… I mean, I’m sorry. I understand this must be a lot for you.”
“I can’t believe it… I mean, I knew about his depression, I just didn’t think it would get this bad,” Stacy says, voice soft and sad.
Henrik nods. “Yes. One can’t help but wonder what the breaking point was.”
“It’s because of me, isn’t it?” Stacy whispers hoarsely, staring down at her ex-husband’s skinny frame. “I did cheat on him. I told him I wanted a divorce after he found out… I wonder what would have happened if I told him straight up about Delilah… I wonder how he would have reacted…”
Henrik is speechless. He can’t really say it isn’t her fault, but at the same time, it wasn’t as if she could straight up tell him. There really was no way of telling how he would have reacted. Henrik groans and rubs his eyes again. He can’t think straight.
His mind flickers back to the video, and his stomach sinks. Did that video… influence his decision? Should he tell her about it? Would she be mad? He takes a deep breath.
“I mentioned your divorce to another friend,” he finally says. “Said friend made a video that I think mocked Chase more than flattered him. I thought it would help… but it didn’t. Only made him even more upset.”
“A video? Was this the video that ‘Jack’ made?” Stacy asks. Henrik opens his eyes, horrified. How long has she known?! Oh god, she must despise him! Henrik whirls around to face her, face riddled with guilt.
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t think he’d take it in that direction- It was a shitty idea, I was so invasive and it was absolutely despicable of me and-”
“Hey, calm down, it’s okay! It was an honest mistake!” Stacy responds calmly. “Chase told me about it. He felt awful and he was so pissed with you guys. I will admit I was a bit peeved at first, but Chase said he yelled at you and broke off his friendship with you, so I figured it was punishment enough.”
“He also brought up my wife,” Henrik says. “So I punched him.”
Stacy nods. “Ah, that’s where the bruise came from.”
Henrik cringes. Damn, did he actually hit Chase that hard? He really is a dick. He sighs and stands up. “You are more than welcome to punch me. I deserve it. I never should have brought up the divorce. It was hateful of me, really.”
Stacy shakes her head. “Oh no, I couldn’t! You saved Chase from the brink of death. It’d be so insensitive of me!”
“I insist.” Henrik holds his head up. Stacy reluctantly stands up, and raises an open palm.
“I’m sorry,” she squeaks.
“It’s fine, I can handle it,” Henrik says.
Stacy takes a deep breath… and punches him. Henrik falls back into the chair from the force. Stacy cringes.
“You… have a very strong punch,” Henrik remarks, holding his throbbing cheek. He holds a finger up when he sees her mouth move. “Don’t apologize. You were right to do so.”
“I took karate as a kid,” Stacy boasts. “I won a black belt at age five.”
“Good for you! To be honest, it wasn’t nearly as hard as my wife’s,” Henrik admits.
“Well, at least I got my ‘revenge’- wait, what?!” Stacy does a double take. “Lisette used to punch you?!”
“She only did it once,” Henrik quickly adds. “After I called her a whore.”
“Oh. That explains a lot,” Stacy deadpans.
“I deserved that as well,” Henrik says. “I just wish she hadn’t moved so far away… I wonder how the girls are doing...”
“Have your children contacted you?” Stacy lightly presses.
“I’ve tried to contact them,” Henrik says. “I don’t think Lisette lets them write or call me.”
“Then Lisette really is an ass,” Stacy explodes. “What if they do want to talk to you? She can’t hide them from you just because she doesn’t like you.”
“That doesn’t seem to stop her. I keep my phone nearby in case Sophia calls when her mother isn’t around.” Henrik pats his pocket. “Or maybe Rick will let her. He’s quite nice and he’s good with kids, which is why I was quite surprised when he turned out to be-”
“A homewrecker?” Stacy suggests. Henrik glares at her, scandalized, but she can tell he’s trying to suppress a smile.
“Sorry,” she mumbles, snickering.
“I was gonna say an ass, but that’s better,” he says. Stacy bursts out laughing, but it quickly fades when she notices Chase. She clears her throat.
“I’m going to take the kids away for a while,” she reveals. “At least until he’s emotionally stable to look after the kids.”
“You know Chase would never let his depression get in the way of being a good father,” Henrik protests.
“I know. I just feel he needs a break from it all,” Stacy says. “Mostly family life, me and Delilah in particular. Maybe she and I could go to my cottage in Scotland. We can stay there until he feels ready to share custody once more. He can’t be alone, though. We know what will happen if he does. He can’t go back home either. We still need to wash out the blood and dispose of any guns he might have. Of course I mean the real guns, but he might not want his Nerf toys either. He needs to be with someone , and that can’t be me. I just don’t know anyone he could stay with who lives in Athlone. We only just moved here.”
Henrik lights up. Holy shit. It’s like destiny! This is the perfect opportunity! “He can move in with us. He’s already an ego. He’d love it there. Sure it’s a bit chaotic, but I think he’d love it!”
Stacy raises an eyebrow. “What sort of chaotic?” she questions.
“The local superhero likes to crash there, we have a magician who INSISTS on using us for test subjects for his latest tricks, and me, the ‘feral doctor’,” Henrik lists off. “Come to think of it, I’m actually the voice of reason.”
Stacy tries her best to hide a shudder. “I feel a little worried about his safety. And no offense, but it’s a bit concerning that you’re the voice of reason in that house.”
Henrik scoffs in mock insult and shoves her gently. “Oh screw you! To be honest, Jackie is actually the smart one. I’m the one who pays the taxes and keeps a roof over their head. They’re the ones who overstayed their visit.”
Stacy rolls her eyes, but she’s smiling. She looks more relaxed than when she walked in. She stands up.
“I think it’s time I left. Good luck, Chase. I wish you all the best with your recovery.” Stacy leans over and gently kisses Chase’s cheek before turning to Henrik and holding her hand out. Henrik returns it and gives it a small squeeze, only to be pulled in for a hug. He gasps in surprise.
“Thank you Henrik,” she whispers. Henrik nods and returns the hug, holding her tightly until she signals to let go. Stacy picks up her bag and leaves.
Henrik sits back down and takes out his cellphone to call the egos. Jackie picks up after the first ring.
“Henrik? Are you okay?”
“I want you to clean the house and make some hot chocolate. We’ve got a new roommate coming to stay with us!” Henrik announces.
“Is it Chase? Is that who we’re taking in?” Jackie asks.
“Yes. I want everything to be perfect, so go! Get cleaning!” the doctor commands.
“Need us to pick you up?” Marvin suggests.
“I can drive just fine! See you soon!” Henrik hangs up just as Chase begins to stir. The doctor watches him apprehensively. He hasn’t seen Chase since the argument. How will he react?
Chase groggily opens his eyes. He can see a bright light shining down on him and closes his eyes. “Where… where am I?”
He slowly attempts to sit up. A soft pair of hands gently help him sit up and rub his back.
Chase blinks, trying to clear his vision. The blurry blue shape slowly comes into view… Henrik! The good doctor sits beside him with an anxious expression on his face.
Chase wracks his memory to try to remember what had happened. He can feel a heavy fabric wrapped around his head. He lifts a hand to better investigate… oh.
Henrik’s heart breaks when he sees Chase drop his hand, expression forlorn. Here we go, he thinks.
“Chase?” Chase looks up. “Before you say anything, know that you have every right to be mad at me and Jack. What we did was despicable and absolutely awful. You don’t have to forgive us, and I completely understand if you never do. But you can’t be alone right now. You’re going through a really tough time, and the last thing you need to be is alone. I don’t know if you’ll accept it, but we have an extra room at home that would be a perfect spot for you to stay while you recover. I know you might not want to talk to me, but Jackie and Marvin are living with me, and they will ensure your time there will be as comfortable as possible. It’s fine if you don’t want to go, but just know that we will always be there when you need a place to stay.”
Chase is silent, simply gazing at Henrik with unshed tears. Finally, he throws his arms around Henrik’s neck. Henrik startles, but returns the hug.
“Is that a yes?” Henrik mumbles. Chase nods. Henrik sighs in relief and squeezes Chase tighter. Now all he has to do is hope Jackie and Marvin have the house ready by the time he returns.
Henrik parks the car in the driveway and turns to Chase. The vlogger fidgets with his t-shirt. Henrik puts a hand on his shoulder.
“Just warning you now, while Jackie and Marvin have good hearts and intentions, they can be little shits and there’s a good chance the house will still be a mess when we get back in. Good luck.”
Chase whimpers in fear. Henrik nods solemnly. “My thoughts exactly.”
The fathers unload the car and walk up to the front steps. Henrik takes a deep breath and opens the door.
“FIFTEEN FUCKING POINTS! I WIN AGAIN MOTHERFUCKER!” Jackie screeches. Marvin roars in anger and tosses a pillow at Jackie, who backhands it. The pillow soars across the house and slams into Henrik, who grunts in alarm and falls backward. Chase shrieks in alarm, gaping at his fallen friend.
Marvin and Jackie turn around, bright blue eyes glaring into Chase. Marvin’s eye twitches sporadically and Jackie smiles like a madman. Chase nervously waves. Marvin clears his throat and forces a sleep-deprived smile.
“Howdy, Chase!”
