Short story showing some of Meta Knight's dad dynamic with his children in the Dawn's New Star AU?
No?
Too bad! :D
Meta Knight sighed, causing Kirby to turn around and tilt his head. "Poyo?"
"Kirby, I have confidence in your ability to sense danger, however, we have been walking for a while now and you have yet to inform me as to why."
He stared up at him, then seemed to think, before looking up at him again and making a chirp sound, then he turned around and kept walking.
"Kirby…" Despite the admittedly useless response, he followed the infant. Eventually Kirby had led him to the beach, then looked around and seemed to get panicked. He spun around and started waving his arms, frantically trying to explain something far too fast to be understood. "Child-"
"Poyo poy!"
"Hey, Meta Knight!"
Both of them looked towards the cliff. Tiff was at the top, lying on the ground with her head over the edge.
"Do you know why Kirby brought me here?"
She seemed to think for a moment, then shrugged. "We saw a cool crab by the water, maybe he wanted to show you."
"Poyo! Poyo!" Kirby began jumping up and nodding.
"...I see." That made sense. If there had been another stray monster or evil entity attempting to take over their planet for seemingly no reason, he'd probably have been in more of a hurry.
"Poyo poyo poy…" Kirby looked at the ground.
"...It's gone?" As the child slowly nodded, Meta Knight gave him some head pats. "I suppose we can wait for it to come back. I'm not busy."
He instantly perked up and smiled, then started jumping around.
"Hey, Meta Knight, how badly do you think I'd get hurt if I jumped off of this."
He instantly formed his wings and stared up at her. "Don't you dare, Tiff!"
She stared, then slowly smiled. It was the same look she had given him every time she did something she knew she wasn't supposed to. Then she shrugged. "I can't learn to fly if I don't jump off cliffs."
Then she fell. Meta Knight was about to fly up, but Kirby was somehow on his Warp Star and caught her just a moment after. She giggled as he brought to the ground, where Meta Knight let his wings fall back into his cape and wrapped himself up. "You are difficult, child."
"At least I'm not evil." She flopped onto the sand. “I’m a good child, according to you.”
"Poyoooo." Kirby slowly gave her pats on the face.
“You are a good child.” Meta Knight walked towards the water. He started into the ocean for a bit and thought back to the first time he had seen one. No doubt Galacta would somehow read his mind and then go on about the memory if he were here. Luckily, the bird was sleeping in the tree in Cappy Town. Popstar was a peaceful place. Not once in the centuries he’d been here had there been any sort of hurricane or tsunami. He was thankful that Nightmare had never thought of simply flooding the planet to wipe everyone out. It probably wouldn’t have worked, but neither did his other several plans.
He was suddenly hit with something that seemed like a clump of sand and heard Kirby gasp. He sighed and turned around. Kirby was staring at Tiff who had her hands behind her back with an oddly well feigned look of innocence.
“What’s the matter, Meta Knight?” She tilted her head and Kirby made direct eye contact with him before pointing at Tiff in the most obvious possible way.
“Why?”
“I felt like it.” She shrugged.
“I do not understand why you play innocent if you're simply going to tell me indirectly that it was you regardless.” He was rather amused, despite his serious tone.
“I don’t like lying to you, plus Kirby already made it obvious and I’m not about to blame him. He’s too adorable.”
Meta Knight looked at the small puffball, who was staring at him with wide eyes. “...I suppose.”
“Anyway, I’m bored.” She shook her head like a cat, then started swiping at her own fur.
“We’re simply waiting for Kirby’s crab to come back.”
Kirby smiled and ran towards him.
“Yea, I know, and I’m not suggesting we don’t do that, but…” She rolled her eyes. “I’m bored. There’s gotta be something else we can do while we wait.”
“Was throwing sand at me not entertaining?”
“It was for about a minute.” She walked over as well, then sat down by the water and tossed a bit of sand into it. “I’ve been here all day and Tuff left a while ago.”
“You are under no obligation to stay if it’s bothering you, Tiff.” He helped Kirby as the child began trying to climb onto his head.
“I want to stay, this is the furthest place from the castle.”
Well, that was concerning. He looked at her. “...Did something happen?”
“No.”
“Tiff.”
“Nothing happened.” Her eyes briefly flickered red.
He simply stared at her. He was worried by this. While it was easy to anger her, it shouldn’t have been as simple as that. Typically it still took a bit.
“Poyo!” Kirby squeaked happily as he finally managed to lay on Meta Knight’s head without falling.
“Does it have to do with Escargoon?”
She didn’t reply, just glared at the water.
“What did he do?”
“He didn’t do anything, I just don’t like him.”
“You’re acting strange.”
“You would notice if someone hadn’t blinked for twenty seconds and say it’s unusual.” She rolled her eyes.
“Tiff, that is very different and you are aware of that.”
“Look, the idiot made a taser! Happy? He doesn’t need a damn taser! It’s been at least two weeks since I’ve attacked or threatened him! I figured maybe we could just avoid each other entirely and that’d make everything easier for both of us but here he is making zappy guns!”
He stared at her. That was typically how these conversations went. She’d refuse to tell him anything and upon continuously being asked, she’d suddenly give in and say everything, including how she felt on the matter, usually in a rant. “Perhaps it’s not for you.”
“Let’s be honest, he hates me and there’s nothing else that’s acting as a threat.”
“Dedede still hits him often.”
“Not nearly as often as he used to and if that’s what it was, he would use something else. He doesn’t need a goddamn taser.”
He sighed. “Alright, so he’s created a taser to deter you. If you are avoiding him as of now, it shouldn’t be an issue, correct?”
“...I guess but…”
Given her tone of voice and the way she was currently avoiding eye contact, he was fairly quickly able to put together her actual concern. “He’s not going to hurt you again.”
“I know…”
“...Poyo…” Kirby attempted to reach to her and give her pats, but got nowhere close. Meta Knight did so instead.
“If it concerns you this much, I will deal with it.”
She looked at him. Her eyes had a white tint at the bottom, giving away her emotions yet again. “You’ll break it?”
“If that’s what you’d like. I’ll make it clear to him that he has long lost his right to create such weapons.”
“...Thank you.” After turning into a mix of white and blue, her eyes turned back to normal and she went back to looking at the water. “Can you also make sure he doesn’t have any… tranquilizers?”
“I’ve spoken with him a while ago on that matter. However, I’ll ensure he still hasn’t made more.”
‘Spoken’. Sometimes his choice of wording was inaccurate. He’d actually yelled at him and threatened to break his arms if he made any more. That was almost directly after he’d found out what he’d done and therefore at least a month ago. He was now realizing he had never told Tiff that Escargoon was well aware tranquilizers were would of the question.
“He’s an idiot. If he doesn’t want me to attack him, he should leave me alone.”
“I agree.”
After a bit of silence, Kirby hopped off his head and poked the water, then pulled out a blueish crab with big eyes. “Poyo! Poyo poy!”
Meta Knight stared at it. It was a neat color.
“Oh! That’s the crab he wanted to show you!” Tiff got up. “I told him you’d be surprised to see a crab version of you.”
He smiled, staring down at the tiny puffball, proudly holding up the crab. “I am quite shocked.”
Kirby made a happy squeak and put the crab down before gently patting it. “Bye, cab!”
It was always adorable hearing the child say actual words, even if he pronounced them horribly wrong. Tiff suddenly jumped onto his head, disorienting him and making him stubble a bit backwards. She then jumped off, shoving him into the water. He nearly fell over but managed to regain his balance before doing so, only getting a little soaked. Tiff was laughing hysterically and Kirby stared at him before also giggling. Meta Knight walked back onto the shore and sighed, then grabbed Tiff by the arm and launched her into the water. She clearly hadn’t been expecting that as she fell into the water entirely. She jumped back up and attempted to throw some at him. Water, however, was certainly not meant for throwing.
“Alright, let’s get back to the castle. Garlude may have a puzzle or something you could do.” He turned around and began walking away.
“Okay!” He heard her climb out of the water and follow. “You made my fur all soggy!”
He chuckled. “It was merely fair.”

Neptunia (Part 1)
Laughter and happiness fills the neighborhood. It is a beautiful day. Kids running, parents chilling on their porch, sidewalks covered in chalk. What more could there be on a weekend? In a small, wooden house, there lies 4 creatures. Slug, Neptunia, Emily, and Blaze. Slug, Neptunia, and Emily are all a polyamorous relationship. Blaze is Neptunia's cousin, who just watches tennis and eats all the cheetos. The news is on. The reporter holds a microphone in his hand, a concerned expression lies on his face. "Apollo escaped, he's here! We don't know how he was able to escape prison, lock your doors! Board your windows, have a gun, make sure you download our app! The police are trying to get him, be safe." He said with a worried, breathy tone. Neptunia had overheard the news from the kitchen. She widened her eyes and opened her jaw. "What?! No, no, no, no!" She started to hyperventilate. "He should've been gone forever, ever! How did he do this? I- I can't..." Emily attempted to comfort Neptunia. "The police will find him, I promise." "NO! Were going to kill him! He's a horrible man! He's going to hurt other young girls the way he did to me! He has strong magic, he can do so much to us..." Neptunia replied. She then ran to the basement, crying. "It's too dangerous, Nepty! Please, let the police do this. I don't want you hurt." Emily demanded, following Neptunia down the stairs. Slug opened her door to his bedroom and sensed Neptunia's sorrow. They went up to the television to see what was happening. "Wait, what? How is this possible? No wonder Neptunia is so sad! This guy molested her, and she thinks it's gonna happen again!" He thought. "I must go comfort her!" She then ran down the basement stairs, following the chatter. "I will NEVER let him take advantage of me or anybody else! Stop trying to make me think his innocent! He's EVIL, and won't recover! He's out to molest girls, I know! I know!" Neptunia cried. Emily responded while pulling her away from the gun box. "He isn't innocent. But the police can han-""NO! THE POLICE DOESN'T HAVE MAGIC LIKE US! HE HAS MAGIC AND WILL DESTROY THEM! We can easily fuck him up and he'll be GONE!" Neptunia pushed Emily away with her physical magic and turned away from the guns. Slug pinned Neptunia to the ground and snarled at her. "STOP! You're going to get killed! We have to do this together, we have to compromise. You can't let your emotions control your decisions. We have to plan things out." Neptunia attempted to wriggle out of Slugs heavy body, but was unable to. She then thought about what he had said, and agreed to them. "I understand. But I can't breathe, please get off of me, you're heavy." Slug got off of Neptunia and sat down. Blaze then trotted to his bedroom and slammed the door in boredom, he went to go jerk off. "Neptunia, you're known for being the poor decision maker." Slug said to Neptunia. "I know..I just really hate that guy, and you know, I'm just traumatized." Neptunia replied. "We have to compromise, Emily doesn't want you standing up to him yourself. He has very powerful magic, similar to yours-" "Ugh! No he doesn't! He's just a weak little guy who is stupid." "Well, how do you think he escaped? Magic." "Well, when you have magic you can do basically anything." "Well, we all have magic, and we can team up to destroy him!" "Yes! But... He didn't do anything you guys. Why do you want to help?""He did, he hurt our friend. He messes with you he messes with me." Slug stood up and carried Neptunia to their room. "Its late, let's go to sleep." They both crawled into bed and fell asleep, cuddled up.

Hey everyone !
------------------------------------------
It's been a While wasn't It ? Well It IS because I have recently with The Omniverse-D Team decided to put all of our Undertale AU's-related work on break. The reason for that is that the Projects WE have have dragged on for 8 years and now we are starting to grow tired of it. We do not CANCEL it (don't worry) But we are taking an indefinite hiatus, notably, for me, it will be Time gained to work on some ENTIRELY ORIGINAL WORK, not related to Undertale or even anything of that type.
Basically, I have in the idea of making a bunch of Written stories and maybe, who knows, some games and comics (that could be original works or adaptations of them) for now tho it will stay mainly Written stories mainly.
The first of these series will have 4 volumes of around 100 chapters and is called: "Midage:Crisis". I am working in collaboration with my huge Friend @admin-240 who does the art for the covers and best boy @zenodreemurr who give me some advices on the writing as well as an undeniable support ! Let's not forget @startio83 that also helps me developp m'y characters personnalities a lot.
Here, I won't give you any Link until I am 100% satisfied with the story, but I Can at least give you VOL.1 Cover Art !
BEHOLD !

((I wrote a short story featuring @troolyart’s characters, Simon and Stanley. I had a lot of fun writing this! Hopefully I did a good job and everyone likes it.))
Music filled the room and birds could be heard chirping outside. The hour was afternoon and Starlla laid on top of her bed in her home. Her room wasn’t fancy. Her full sized bed was pink and white colored. She had a wooden dresser and desk. A small closet held all her clothes.
As for the sorceress herself, she was worse for wear. It had been a few days since she had been discharged from the hospital after that anomaly incident. It also left her temporarily blind. She could feel all the bandages on her body. She also had some wrapped around her head and covering her eyes. The clothes she was currently wearing were soft and comfortable. The sunlight could be felt on her skin as it filtered through her window.
She laid there soaking up the peaceful moment. Unfortunately, it was interrupted. She could hear Nathan peeking into the room. “You doing alright, sweetheart?”
Starlla huffed. “Yes, Nathan. I’m fine. You asked me that a few minutes ago.”
“I know. I’m just worried about you. I’m going to make dinner. Need anything?”
“Some quiet time for starters.” She sat up and heard Nathan rush over to her. This irritated her. “Oh, for goodness sakes Nathan! You don't have to hover over me like a mother hen!”
He sighed. “I know. But, I can't help it. Your sight hasn't returned yet and I’m afraid of you accidently hurting yourself.” He kissed her on the head gently. “You stay here and I’ll fix dinner.”
When he left Starlla huffed. She was starting to wonder if letting him stay at her house while she heals was a good idea. As much as she loved him, she needed some quiet time. Time to herself.
She carefully swung off her bed and felt around for her sandals. When she finally found them she made her way back to her bed and grabbed her guidecane.
Okay. A nice quiet place to rest. While her magic levels were completely screwed up due to the poison, she could manage a simple teleportation technique. After all, teleporting was easy if you knew where you wanted to go.
With a deep breath, Starlla pictured a place in a park she loved to go to. In a flash of pink, glitterly, light she vanished.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned for her. Instead of teleporting onto soft grass, she found herself falling. Before she could utter a sound she landed on hard concrete.
She yelped and groaned. Her guide cane landed somewhere nearby. That freaking hurt! Where the heck did she teleport to?
Shifting onto her knees, she felt for her cane. Dang it! Where was it?! It frustrated her to no end that her magic was all messed up. She couldn't even view a person's soul right now!
After a bit she stood up and moved forward a bit. She felt for her cane again and repeated what she just did. It had to be here somewhere. She heard it clatter.
When she moved forward again something wrapped around her waist and yanked her back. They were putting pressure on the area where that acidic parasite bit her. Add shock and confusion into the mix and you get what she was feeling right now.
Starlla screamed bloody murder. She screamed from the fact she didn't know who was touching her and they were hurting her.
“GET OFF OF ME!” She screamed. “GET OFF! YOU’RE HURTING ME! STOP!”
“Let her go! She’s away from the edge!”
Whatever had a hold of her let her go. She crumpled to the floor and tried to steady her breathing. She gingerly touched her side to see if she was bleeding. Thankfully, it didn’t feel like it. That freaking hurt like hell!
She heard footsteps running towards her. “Oh my! Are you quite alright?”
That voice. It sounded like Nathan. But, the tone didn’t belong to him. Not to mention it sounded like he never met her until now.
She felt a hand gently touch her shoulder. “It’s okay. You’re safe now. The Adventure Line grabbed you before you could walk over the edge. I’m sorry for the rough treatment.”
Yep. This guy wasn’t Nathan. His voice had an air of natural gentleness to it. Her boyfriends tended to be a bit rough. It also sounded like his Adventure Line had a mind of its own.
She carefully sat up. “Thank you. Where am I?”
The man paused for a moment. “You’re in my Parable. My name is Simon.” She felt hands on her shoulders and Simon spoke gently. “Do you remember how you got here?”
“I accidentally teleported here.” She answered. “I wanted to go somewhere quiet. But, my magic levels are completely screwed up. I didn’t mean to trespass onto your property. I’m sorry.”
There were a few moments of silence. She had a feeling he was looking at her in confusion. Honestly, she didn't blame him. Someone teleporting into your private space isn’t something you encounter everyday. Hopefully he was nice and didn't get mad at her
After a bit she heard him let out a warm chuckle. “It’s quite alright, my dear girl. Accidents happen. Tell me, what is your name?”
“Starlla.” She answered. Phew. He wasn’t angry with her. That's good.
“Starlla? That’s a lovely name. It suits you.” She heard him stand up. “Can you stand?”
As much as she would like to say yes and get up on her own, she was hurting. The fall and being yanked back irritated her wounds. Not to mention she had no idea where she was. So much for having some alone time.
She held out her hand. “Can you give me a hand, please?”
A hand immediately gently grabs hers. His hand felt bigger and thicker than Nathans. Simon must be heavier than him. That wasn’t a bad thing, though. It made her think that Simon must look like a teddy bear. She adored men who looked like that. It gave her a sense of security.
As she stood up his hand never left hers. He even used his free one to help steady her. “Easy now. There we go. Are you in any pain? Is there anything I can do to help?”
Starlla resisted the urge to sigh. Great. First she teleports into this man's domain, nearly falls off a ledge, and now he’s worrying over her. Wonderful! She sure was doing a great job embarrassing herself!
After taking a breath she shook her head. “Don't worry about me. Let me find my guidecane and I’ll be on my way.” Since she didn't want to lie to him she figured she would just leave. “I’ve caused you enough trouble already. I’ll take my leave.”
“Oh, no no. You’re not causing me any trouble.” A hand could be felt on her shoulder. “I believe you when you say this was an accident and it looks like you’re in pain. I can help you until you can return home.”
He could tell she was in pain? Maybe her color was off. That's the only explanation she could think of. In all honesty, she needed to let the pain ease up if she wanted to attempt to teleport again.
“Just let me rest for a few minutes and I’ll be on my way.” She said. “Do you know where my guidecane is?”
Someone clearing their throat behind her got her attention. She turned around and Simon spoke. “Ah. Thank you Stanley. He found your cane.”
Starlla held out her hand and she felt the wrist strap around her wrist. She had no idea he was there. Has he been here the entire time?
She gripped her cane and attempted to look at Stanley. “Thank you.”
“He says you’re welcome.” Answered Simon. “He’s not much of a talker. We can take you someplace to rest. It’s nearby. Do you need anything? Water? Tea?”
She shook her head. “No thank you. I’m already intruding. Give me a few minutes and I’ll be gone.”
Simon paused for a brief moment. “Alright. If you change your mind, please don't hesitate to ask.” She felt him gently grab her arm. “I’ll lead you to the break room.”
She grabbed his arm in response. “Thank you.”
“You’re quite welcome, my dear.”
Wow. This man was incredibly sweet. They just met and she already really liked him. Something told her he would make a great Dad. Men like him always made her day.
Even with that running through her mind she shouldn’t stay any longer than she should. She was in his domain without his permission. By all rights she should leave right away. She just needed to get her bearings first.
When Simon began slowly leading her she followed, keeping a firm grasp on him. Since someone was leading her she kept her guidecane off the ground. While she couldn't see into his soul, she had a feeling he wouldn’t let her trip or anything.
She suddenly felt him take a step up. “We’re at a small set of stairs.” She heard him say. “It's only a few.”
“Okay.”
As much as a small part of her wanted to be annoyed at the fact he had to explain to her where she was going, she knew that would be illogical. She had no idea where she was. She needed someone to guide her.
With a few taps of her cane she carefully took the first step. Simon stayed a step ahead of her and tightened his hold on her. Nervousness started to creep up on her. Climbing stairs in an unfamiliar place while blind was understandably nerve wracking.
Simon seemed to pick up on that. “Don’t worry. I’ve got you. Stanley is right behind you too.”
He was? Starlla resisted the urge to turn around. That guy could be quiet when he wanted to be, that’s for sure. She was so focused on Simon she didn’t notice Stanley right behind her.
Okay. She could do this. The first step was easy. But, when she tried to make the second her foot slipped and she fell backwards.
Immediately Simon grabbed her with both his hands and she felt Stanley place his hands on her back to stop her from falling. She felt both of them push/pull her forward and Simon steadied her. “My dear girl, are you alright?”
She let out a shaky breath. “Yes. I’m fine. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
She made sure to be extra careful this time. Simon kept his hands firmly on her and she could feel Stanley close behind her. It was obvious both men weren’t taking any chances and she was thankful for that.
When they reached the top Simon let one hand go off of her and slowly began leading her again. As she followed him she could feel Stanley staring at her. It kinda made her nervous. Was he mad at her for popping in uninvited? It wouldn’t surprise her if that was the case. He had every right to be angry at her.
As they walked she began to feel out of breath. The pain coursing through her body along with the stress she felt being in an unfamiliar place uninvited with two strangers was getting to her. The sorceress swallowed thickly.
“Don’t worry.” She heard Simon say suddenly. “We’re almost there. Just a bit more.”
Starlla could feel herself begin to tremble. Damn it! Why was it so hard to simply walk?! She’s fought beings ten times her size and been thrashed around roughly. She shouldn’t feel like this!
Her heart began to pound in her chest. She felt so pathetic. Her legs felt weak and she swore she was beginning to sweat a bit. In the back of her mind she bet her old bullies from her school days would be having a field day if they could see her now. After all, they still torment her to this day.
Simon suddenly stopped and she stopped as well. She was about to ask him if something was wrong, but his hands on her arms stopped her. He gently led her forward and her cane bumped against something.
“Here.” He gently said. “You can sit down. Do you need me to help you?”
She could feel her face flush from embarrassment. “I think I can manage. Thank you, though.”
She felt him let her go and she reached a hand out to feel. At first, she felt nothing. When she lowered her hand it made contact with something soft. It felt like a cushion.
After a bit more feeling she turned around and gently sat down. Since she was still uncomfortable in her environment she sat on the edge. She let out a shaky breath. Damn that acidic parasite and its venom! If she has been more careful on that mission she wouldn’t be in this situation.
As she tried to deflate the feeling of someone sitting beside her drew her attention. “It's okay, my dear.” Simon spoke gently. “We won't hurt you. You’re safe here.”
Starlla took a breath. “Thank you. I feel bad for intruding. I know how frustrating it is when someone tresspasses on your private property.”
He placed a hand on her shoulder. “There’s nothing to apologize for. This was a simple accident. We’re not angry with you.”
These men were being too good to her. They have every right to be angry with her. But, they’re choosing to show compassion and empathy to her. Sometimes it baffled her how kind some people can be.
She reached up and placed her hand on his. While she couldn't see right now, maybe she could get the general idea on what he looked like. She didn't know how to ask him if she could feel him. After all, anyone could take that the wrong way. Maybe if she started with his hands he would get the picture and tell her to back the freak off or not.
She scooted back a bit, set her guidecane beside her, and turned to him. As she felt his hand she reached her other out and tried to feel for his free one. He must’ve gotten the hint as he gently grabbed her hand. His hands felt a bit rough. It made her think he was a hard worker who used his hands a lot.
He wasn’t saying anything. Maybe it was okay to ask. “Um…if it’s okay with you. Could I…”
“Do you want to feel me?” He guessed. She nodded and he chuckled. “I don't mind. Go right ahead.”
“Thank you.”
He took his hand off of her and she slowly felt up his arms. The shirt he had on felt rough a bit. It made her think he was wearing a dress shirt. When her thumbs brush up against his sides she was met with the feeling of softness. He had on something soft over his long sleeve shirt. Maybe a sweater vest or something.
One thing was for sure, he was chunky. That fact alone made her want to smile. She resisted the urge to hug him. Full figured people who were kind like Simon made her want to give them a big hug. There were times she wished Nathan was a bit chubby. That way there would be more of him to love.
Her hands made their way up his arms and to his shoulders. She felt the edges of the fuzzy piece of clothing he had on. Yep. It was probably a sweater vest. She bet he looked so adorable.
After that she made her way up his neck and to his face. Her hands rested on his cheeks and she ran her thumbs across his soft skin. His face was full like she would expect. His nose felt a bit round and she could feel age lines.
As she moved her hands up a bit they bumped against something. They felt like glasses. It seemed that the Narrators wearing glasses was a common thing. She wasn’t too surprised she felt them.
Curious about the shape of them, she carefully ran her fingertips along the edges. They were large and round. When she got to the top she felt something unexpected. It felt like there was a third lense on top. Feeling of it confirmed her suspicions. He had a third lens in front of his forehead. Huh. Glasses with three lenses wasn’t something she encountered everyday. She bet they looked cute on him.
When she was done she let go of him. She even allowed herself to smile a bit. “You feel adorable.”
She heard Simon make a few noises. “Wha? Oh. Well, thank you.”
Starlla couldn’t help but to giggle a bit. Reaching out a hand, she tried to place it on his face. He ended up taking it and placing it on his cheek for her. She felt for his nose and booped it when she found it.
“You’re so precious.” She giggled.
He made a few more noises and she imagined he was blushing. She put her hand down, done feeling his face for now. So, he was a chubby man, probably about her height, who wore a long sleeve dress shirt, sweater vest, and had glasses with three lenses. She wondered if he had three eyes.
“Th-thank you.” He stuttered. “If you don't mind me asking, how did you get injured?”
Starlla lightly sighed and leaned back a bit more. “It's a long story. My main job is to neutralize dangerous anomalies. My last job had me investigate something that was trying to harvest energy. It was an acidic parasite. To paint a better picture for you, it’s a huge beast made up of acidic black tar.”
She touched the side it bit her. “I got careless and it bit me. Those things are known to be poisonous, so I didn’t last very long after that. It fed off of me for about a week before my boyfriend and Narrator, Nathan, rescued me. He had help from another Narrator, Devin, and his Stanley.”
The sorceress sighed and lightly touched the bandages on her eyes. “That poison and energy draining did a number on me. It’ll be a while before I regain my sight. It’s quite frustrating. Add the fact Nathan won’t leave me alone. I love him, but I need time to myself. That’s why I teleported. I was trying to go somewhere to be alone. But, I ended up accidentally coming here.”
There were a few moments of silence. She could feel both men staring at her. She almost jumped when she felt a hand on hers. “I’m sorry you had to go through that.” She heard Simon say. “I’m glad they rescued you. Tell me, how much information were you given beforehand?”
She thought for a moment. “Honestly, not much. I was told to look into an energy draining anomaly. That was all besides the location.”
“It sounds like to me you weren’t given enough information to work with. It’s not your fault that you didn’t know what you were getting into. They should’ve given you more information or assigned you to a team.”
“That’s what Nathan said too. He told me the entire thing mutated by the time I was found. Any longer and he would’ve found me dead.”
Simon gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “I’m glad he didn’t.”
Starlla resisted the urge to rub her bandaged eyes. “Same here.”
As she felt herself finally relaxing, exhaustion seeped into her systems. But, she couldn’t fall asleep here. She needed to leave. After all, she was probably already outstaying her welcome.
“Are you tired?” Asked Simon.
“A bit. But, don’t worry about me. Give me a minute and I’ll leave.”
“You’re more than welcome to rest a bit more. Your body has been through a massive amount of trauma. If you need to rest then rest. Stanley and I don’t mind at all.”
Ah, that’s right. Stanley was in the room as well. He was so quiet that she almost forgot he was here too. She guessed he was probably a strong, silent, type of person. That would explain why Simon was doing all the talking.
As much as she wanted to politely decline and leave, Simon was right. Her body was becoming desperate for rest. If she teleported now there was a chance she could hurt herself. Not to mention she could end up who knows where again. The most logical choice was to listen to him.
Footsteps approaching her caught her attention. She turned her head in the direction of the sound and she felt a hand gently on her shoulder. Knowing this was Stanley she attempted to look up at him.
“Stanley says you can take a nap if you want.” Simon said. “I think that’s a good idea. Taking a nap will help restore your energy much better. Not to mention the body does the most healing while it’s asleep.”
Okay, these men were making logical sense. Sleeping did result in the most healing. Her body was beginning to throb. If she didn’t sleep, at least resting a bit longer would be good for her.
She finally nodded. “Okay.”
She grunted a bit as she scooted back a bit more. She felt Simon place a hand on her other shoulder in an effort to help her. When she felt her back press against the back cushions she tried to relax.
“Stanley is asking if you want a blanket.”
She paused for a brief moment. “I’m fine right now. Thank you for the offer, though.”
“He says you’re welcome.”
When the two men let go of her she could feel herself actually beginning to drift off. Everything must’ve been more draining for her than she thought. It was baffling to her how much she was sleeping lately. She couldn’t remember the last time she slept this much.
She must’ve dozed off because the next thing she knew someone was gently shaking her shoulder. “Starlla?” She heard Simon whisper. “Stanley and I got you a blanket. Do you want to lay down?”
“Sure.” She muttered. What he said barely registered to her.
She felt two pairs of hands gently grab her and shifted her so she could lay down on the couch. Her head was laid on something soft and she felt a heavy blanket being draped over her. Someone smoothing out the blanket on her was the last thing that she registered before she fell back asleep.
How much time had passed was unknown to her. It was so peaceful in the room that she felt herself fall into a deep slumber. It's been a hot minute since she’s had the privilege to experience this peace and quiet.
When she finally woke up everything was quiet and still. Taking a deep breath, she laid still for a few moments before shifting. She sat up and stretched as much as she could.
“Finally awake.”
This caught her by surprise. The voice and tone was unmistakable. “Was it hard to find me, Nathan?”
She heard him sigh. “Yes. Yes it was. Your energy signature is still muddled.” He paused. “Listen. I’m sorry for smothering you. Almost losing you scared me. I’m…I suppose in a way I’m trying to make up for the fact I didn't reach you sooner. I’m sorry, honey.”
Starlla lightly smiled. “It's alright. I understand that you want to be near me after what happened. But, I need time to myself. We both do. Things are going to happen in our line of work. Any mission could be our last. It's what we signed up for. All we can do is be there for each other and respect our needs.”
Nathan chuckled. “One of the many reasons why I fell in love with you. You know what to say.”
“Not all the time. You’re the one who does most of the talking. I mostly talk a lot to you.”
“I’m glad you do.” She heard him approach her. “How about we go home and eat dinner? I can warm it back up.”
The sorceress smiled. “I would love that.”
With that said she slipped the blanket off and she felt Nathan slip her sandals back onto her feet. Simon or Stanley must’ve taken them off for her. He helped her stand up and slipped her guidecane around her wrist.
“Ready to go?” Asked Nathan as he gently grabbed her arm.
“Almost. I need to thank Simon and Stanley first.”
“You’re welcome, my dear.” Starlla lightly jumped at the sound of Simon's voice. “My apologies. I didn’t mean to frighten you. Nathan hasn’t been here that long. He was awfully worried about you.”
Starlla lightly sighed. “I bet. Sorry for worrying you like that, honey.”
She felt Nathan kiss her head. “It’s quite alright.”
She handed her cane to Nathan. “Before we go. Simon. Can you come here, please?”
“Of course.”
She took a few steps forward and heard Simon walk up to her. She held out her hand. When he took it she pulled him into a hug. Her arms wrapped around his chubby sides and she couldn’t help but to notice he smelled like paper and ink.
She let out a content sigh as she hugged him. It was like hugging one of her parents or relatives. All the stress and everything else seemed to melt away. His chubby figure made it all the more heart warming. Oh my goodness, did she need this!
After a few brief moments she felt Simon hug her back. She smiled and tightened her hold a tad. He was a wonderful hugger.
“Keep that up and I’ll start to get jealous.” She heard Nathan say playfully.
“It’s not my fault Simon is good for hugging. Maybe if you put on some weight I’ll sleep on you.” She teased back.
“You know it’s hard for me to gain weight in our line of work.”
She felt Simon chuckle. “You two stay active, I take it?”
“Very.” Answered Starlla as she reluctantly let go of him. “We both lead incredibly active lives. Thank you again for everything. Thank you too Stanley. That is, if you’re here right now.”
“He is and he says you’re welcome. That comes from me too. Let us know when your sight returns.”
“I will.” She turned around and tried to look at Nathan. “Let’s get a move on, sweetie.”
“Of course, dear.”
With that said Nathan led Starlla to the place he used to enter Simon's Parable. Before she knew it she smelled the familiar scent of her home. It smelled like lavender and food.
Nathan guided Starlla to the table. “Give me a few moments and super will be ready.”
“Thank you, Nathan.” She said as she sat down. “I love you.”
“I love you too, my darling.”

Batroid: Pre-Mission
Yes, I’m actually getting very invested in this AU, so here’s a sorta... prologue! Taking place just before Rouge’s first mission on Zebes.
It was a rather busy day for one Rouge Aran. A Mobian Bat with a penchant for treasure and the tendency to try to mask any acts of morality as just another way for her to get paid, she’s always open for a job. However, she definitely wasn’t expecting her employment to be from a familiar group – or for a familiar locale. It was the midst of her day, after trying to figure out where to look for her next job or heist, when she saw that symbol pop up on her monitor for the first time in a while. A familiar, capital G – the logo for the Galactic Federation’s own Galactic Unification Navy, or GUN for short. She was to report to Commander Tower immediately, in a Space Station near the Galactic Federation capital.
As her ship landed in a docking bay, with the ramp lowering down to touch the ground, she finally walked down, peering out of her visor at her surroundings. The hanger was rather busy today, she could see several beings from across the galaxy here. A group of human soldiers reporting home with specimens from an unknown to her world in tow, elsewhere she spied a pair of fellow Mobians – a blue-spined hedgehog and a fox with twin-tails – in the midst of delivering a box with a rainbow glow escaping its cracks to a specialist of some kind that was setting her jewelry senses off the CHARTS, even a captured space pirate being delivered to the brig via elevator. However, most of this was a distraction – and if she stole whatever radiant objects were in that box, she’d get in massive trouble that she doesn’t need to deal with! No, her destination was the command center – near the top of the facility, this would be a long elevator ride alone.
As she stood there in the elevator, her mind drifted away. First, to jewelry. Why, there was a surprising amount of it on the space pirate headed for the brig, and goodness, whatever was in that box had her thoughts racing. Yet, as she thought more and more, her mind drifted once more, to events that had long since passed. That blue hedgehog… he seemed to be just as much of a mobian as her, but his demeanor and choice of clothing.. he was living a carefree life down on Mobius, for sure. She wonders if she’d have something like that had things been different. Had she not been there that fateful day, when the Space Pirates first attacked Station Square, one of multiple human colonies turned city on Mobius, of which she was one of the few survivors.
She’s heard it’s been rebuilt since then, and even gone to visit on occasion. She hardly remembers what it was like before the attack, but that didn’t make it feel less unnerving to be there. It would always come back to her. The smell of brimstone and iron. The feeling of fiery warmth washing over her. The insane cackling and chortling of a madman and the unholy scream of a nightmarish creature. A mix of feelings, feelings she can’t fully connect with sights or accurate depictions of events. The only sight she truly remembers is glowing, golden eyes on a jagged silhouette beyond the smoke, and the shape of her mother attempting to stand between it and her, followed by the sound of claws searing through flesh.
Of course, what happened after that she couldn’t remember. She had later awoken in a rather unfamiliar  room feeling… physically whole. A group of kind, bird-like creatures known as the Chozo had gotten a distress signal from the city, and she was the only living soul they could find – having been buried under rubble near other, less fortunate bodies, it’s likely the Pirates invading the city had overlooked her. An older Chozo, who she called Old Bird – Mockingly at first, endearingly eventually – had adopted her and taken her under his wing. She had nowhere to go on Mobius, so she lived with him on Zebes, where he tried his best to raise her as a compassionate warrior… with mixed results.
As her thoughts continue to drift, her mental train is suddenly interrupted by a loud cough. She blinks as her focus on the real world returns, and she’s greeted by a rather… strange looking man. He was a balding human in a rather fancy – perhaps gaudy – labcoat, with a bushy orange mustache and a pair of glasses that made it hard to get a good look at his eyes. He began with a chuckle of sorts, “Oh ho ho, is everything fine, Miss Bat? Not daydreaming and making the Commander wait for his urgent briefing, I assume?” He asked, leaning down to be at eye level with her. She sighed, nodding,” Oh, I’m as fine can be. If it was truly as urgent as Tower’s making it out to be, he’d have been waiting for me at the landing and I could’ve skipped this dull elevator ride – seriously, not even elevator music?” She said with a bit of sass in her voice.  The scientist made a rather annoyed sounding grumble, before a big, maybe slightly concerning grin flashed across his face,” Well, the idea of an urgent meeting that takes ages to get to IS truly an ironic one, I’ll give you that. But now, I do believe it’s high time you got there – every minute you take is time that could be spent doing... whatever it is you do.” He walks away with a rather dismissive wave of his hand, leaving Rouge to roll her eyes and get on with heading for the command room.
Command was rather quiet; it seems this was truly something of utmost importance, as only super essential staff and Rouge herself were being allowed inside. Tower stood in the center of the room – a tall, imposing human with gray hair and mismatched orange and blue eyes, his arms behind his back and a permanent scowl stuck on his face as he watched the bat enter. Behind him was… the eccentric scientist from before, who was currently in the midst of ‘looking’ like he was checking his notes constantly. Rouge stood before Tower, giving him a smug grin, “So, Commander Tower! What’s got your knickers in such a twist that you needed to make me ride the longest elevator GUN’s wasted Federation funding on?”
Tower’s scowl remained unfazed by Rouge’s comments, the man speaking gruffly,” Well, Miss Aran, this is a matter of galactic security. And you’re the only person who can handle this job.” Rouge blinks in surprise,” What, really? Why, do you…” Her genuine surprise quickly turns to a teasing grin,” Need my ability to break into just about anything, anywhere? Or maybe it’s my dashing looks? Ooh, or could it be-” Tower interrupted her with a raised hand, his look getting colder,” Rouge. This is a serious matter. Dr. Robotnik, if you’d please.” He turned to the scientist, giving him a fellow salute. Rouge thought to herself, Robotnik… A strange name for a strange man. The stout human scientist nodded,” You see, the federation had been in the midst of transporting some rather odd wildlife we found on the planet of SR388… A rather horrific little parasite capable of draining someone’s life force in seconds, known by Chozo legend as “Metroids”. The Space Pirates must’ve gotten our info somehow, because they cracked the transport open like an egg and ran off with our metaphorical yolk! Left in the hands of pirates, or unchecked, they are going to wreak havoc across the galaxy.”
Rouge scratches her chin,” So… what does this have to do with me? This sounds like the kinda problem GUN would just throw as many men and robots as they could at.” Dr. Robotnik gave the bat a rather annoyed look, and was about to respond when Tower suddenly cut him off,” Because you, Rouge Aran, are the only living being strong enough, and knowledgeable enough of the location they’re holed up in, to have any chance of putting this threat down. They’re holed up on a newly made base on Planet Zebes, orbiting Star FS-176. A location I think you know well.” Rouge blinked, the snark vanishing from her mind. “The Space Pirates are… holed up on Zebes? You’re 100% certain of that?” Tower responded with only a nod. Indeed, they had taken over the planet where she had practically been raised. He continued, “As I said, you are the only one who knows the layout of Zebes and has the power to fight through it. And you will be paid very handsomely to boot for this mission. Do you accept?” She thinks about it… a chance to stop them from further ruining her home, and maybe even steal- er, reclaim some artifacts she knows about that the Space Pirates wouldn’t...
It’s very easy for her to give the salute, nodding,” Yes sir, Commander Tower. I won’t let these pirates dirty my home, especially not with dangerous parasites. I’ll do my best to rid the planet of those Metroids and drive out the pirates occupying it.” He nods, a subtle smirk on his face,” Good, good. Your ship’s been refueled and you’ve been granted special permissions, as well as intel that’ll let you land on the surface of the planet undetected. Give those pirates the surprise of their lives, Miss Aran.” He gave her a salute, and Dr. Robotnik gave her.. a grin that she thinks is supposed to be encouraging, but it felt off. Regardless, she nodded, and began her walk back to the elevator. She was going to be the one to retake Zebes. As she rode down that massive elevator once more, she stared out the glass canopy out towards space, towards that distant star, ready to wage war.
Meanwhile...
As her ship left the docking bay, a dark, hidden room on the Station was lit up by a single screen. The silhouette of a rather familiar mustached man with a wide grin lit up by the light from the monitor before him. He began to speak in a hushed, wicked tone, “Egg Captain, this is the Eggman speaking. Inform our… draconic friend that there’s a little bat he’ll be very interested to see again making her way to Planet Zebes. She’ll get there before him, unfortunately, but once he gets there it shouldn’t be too hard for him to clip her wings before she breaches Tourian and ruins our lil operation there. And do it quickly too; a hedgehog and some other nuisances already ruined a handful of my interests on Mobius and my patience is growing thinner and thinner by the second.” He doesn’t even wait for the person he was contacting to respond before he closes the channel, his maddening grin and the reflection of his glasses being the only things retaining light in the room before that too fades from view.

Harbinger Of Death
The sun burning a purple into the clouds above me, an august afternoon
The breeze rubbed her hair like angels kisses were here passing through
Crisp leaves fell from the tree supporting a love etched into its own skin
While the grass rippled across the waves of land that reached out rolling
Over and under, a wonder branching out into two teenager hearts it held
With passions and grasp on the reality that is where our Marcus dwelled
…& it may have been better to forget the whole thing.
Underneath the setting sun they laid, holding onto the time they had left
Tumblr media
An evening unforgettable to them, they’d cherish it until the last breaths
A perfection at it’s finest, meteor showers lit up this heart wrenched sky
Far fetched love scene, just some teens wasting away in natures own lie
It was late by now, neither really kept track because they didn’t mind it
Some things just don’t matter to two souls with this or chances to find it
Tumblr media
He stared at her eagerly, speaking weak with a mind full of life stresses
Knees shaking, hands clammy and she told him that she got the message
…She turned to a song her grandmother used to hum.
“I’d never let you go, and I’d never let you down
I’d never tell you no unless it’s reason is sound
I’ll be the one you can keep closer then yourself
I’ll keep your heart only if you keep mine as well”
Tumblr media
And with that she stood, turned around and looked down where she sat
Realizing that that beautiful spot was the only good thing she really had
She began to walk away, she didn’t know where, but she had her reason
And he just sat there…staring…trying to make sense of this past season
Don’t think for two seconds he didn’t try to speak, but nothing came out
Wasn’t fast enough to pull himself up to his wheelchair and pace about
& it’s going to be a cold winter.
Tumblr media
He rolled himself home, it wasn’t too far, a few blocks up from the park
Reached it by the time the sky became cloudy and it was really too dark
His parents were gone for the week, went on some hunting trip in Maine
Loaded one bullet in his dads revolver and decided to play a little game
You know “She loves me, she loves me not” on daisy’s doesn’t cut it anymore
Tumblr media
He loved her and that bitch walked away…how could she do it to him?
He didn’t care…he spun the chamber and put a bullet through him…
Tumblr media
And she died that night…she couldn’t bear to say good bye to him
…A note was found in his coat pocket, this is how it read…
“Dear Marcus,
I’m sorry I had to leave but I’m dying. I have cancer.
I can’t bear to put you through more so I had to go.
I love you and will always be with you.
Forever,
Mandy”

this silly-ass story that I made for English class that I’m gonna continue with some kind of animated series or some shit
read below!
It was 11:23 p.m. My house is usually quiet during this time period and on that night, I heard strange noises. Noises that sound like someone sniffling like they're sick or crying, and the drowned-out sound of music. I couldn't tell what song it was. Although it was muffled, I could tell it was coming from the dining room.
Out of curiosity, I get up, open the door, and quietly go over to the dining room, going across the hallway and going downstairs, trying not to wake up my family. I assumed it was my brother who always gets up at this hour to eat something, as I went over and as soon as I opened my mouth to say for him to go back to bed, I saw that it wasn't my brother. As soon as I saw it, my heart sank a little, and I stood there frozen like a deer in headlights.
It was a strange, glowing white long piece of cloth, floating in the air with a maroon beanie and black, brandless headphones on. I could hear the music playing from the headphones, but I still couldn't tell what song it was. Its hair was sort of puffy, which nearly covered both of its eyes and reached near the bottom of its head. It had black sclera and white, circles for eyes. It was seemingly tearing up but, not really sad, but had a blank vacant expression, with its tears dripping down to the floor like a sink that's been accidentally left on. It also had left a scent around the room, smelling like a river. It reminded me of the river that my dad took me to a few days ago. It also kind of smelled like petrichor, too.
It also is startled by my presence. When it turned around when I had come downstairs, it had jumped out of surprise and its eyes dilated a little.
That's when it spoke.
"Oh. "
"Oh no.."
"I'm sorry... Did I wake you up...?" I still stood there not saying anything.
"Sorry for getting into your home... I just wanted to look around your house... it looked cool...
I wish I had a house like yours. Mine is not that great... It's small, compact, and disorganized. Unlike yours. Yours is organized, big, and has a great view of the outside... you could probably run around here without bumping into anything with how big your house is...”
"My name's Aofie... nice to meet you. I guess
I'll go now...”
It started moving towards the door and then as he was about to phase through the door and leave…”
that’s as far as I got.

Starlight Dream - Chapter 49
Wonderful, glorious air filled Arisu’s lungs as she tasted freedom. She lived again, not some abstract entity in the cosmos’ lifestream. She’d been one with everything, but that meant little when you were blind to everything else.
“Eh? This is the old queen?” The black-haired girl with twin tails said, mouth agape. Her companions seemed just as befuddled.
Old queen? What had people been saying about her? She wasn’t a ruler of anything, much less a damn planet. Arisu considered it too much work.
“Yep, this is her,” Charity replied, nodding. Arisu noted an edge of long-suffering resignation in the fairy’s voice and rolled her eyes. Typical Charity.
“Charity! Finally! What took you so long?” Arisu grumbled, surprised at how easily words came to her lips after silent centuries. Despite her complaint, she couldn’t fight back the tears pricking her eyelids. Damn, it was beautiful to see her partner again. While they’d had their differences, they were blood sisters for life.
“Charity apologies, but she had to work around the Devil Princesses’ influence. But she made it in the end.” The fairy didn’t hide her tears, taking a moment to compose herself before gesturing to the strangers. “They helped me.”
“Seina.” She stared at the Wicked Queen in wide-eyed wonder.
“Emiyo.” This magical girl was warier, unsure what to make of this odd magical girl.
“Masato Kiyojiro.” The Wicked Queen sensed a kinship with the man, both rough-edged punks raised in a brutal world.
“That right? I owe you then. I’ll buy you a beer later.” Arisu said, beaming.
“That’s unnecessary.” Seina forced a smile. “But thanks, I guess?”
“Arisu, please stop being a bad influence on the younger magical girls,” Charity said, chastising her partner.
“Fine, fine.” She’d been joking, but Arisu enjoyed playing into the stereotypes about her. It kept people on their toes. “Still owe you all the same.”
“I see you’ve made a royal mess of everything, Reiko.” Arisu sent a scathing glare at the monster girl, scary enough to peel paint off walls. “I’m going to enjoy kicking your ass for that.”
Centuries stuck in a stupid quagmire had left her ignorant of the current condition of the cosmos. But already, she sensed the wrongness of her former home. A sickness hung in the air, like breathing in tar. A great evil had happened in her absence.
“Damn you! Why can’t you go away?!” A hint of trepidation entered Reiko’s voice, remembering the ass-kicking she’d gotten earlier.
“After the trouble you caused, I’m too pissed off to die!” Arisu slammed her staff against the ground, making everyone jump.
Reiko’s eyes lit with malevolent glee. “I’m going to enjoy this. I wish…” Blood trickled down her cheek as she just dodged the red line thrown at her face, the end of the Wicked Queen’s staff implanting deep into a nearby wall. Arisu finally stood up.
“Typical Reiko. Can’t win if you can’t cheat.” Arisu withdrew her broach, flicking aside her cigarette. “I’m not as strong as I was, but it’ll be enough to kick your ass! Change Change, Magical Love Dress Up!”
Despite being a total delinquent punk, the dress gave her an aura of elegance and sophistication. Arisu ruined this when she withdrew a white cloth mask and put it over her face, looking more like a street thug than a magical girl. That’s better. Arisu wasn’t no pretty princess.
“Tsk.” Reiko whipped blood from her cheek and licked it off her fingers. “I won’t need my wish ability to annihilate all of you. I’ve gotten stronger since we last met, Arisu. Shall I show you? It’s a little trick Kaguya taught me.”
“Yeah, kill them all!” Her partner clapped with glee, the little psycho enjoying the bloodshed as usual.
Much to Arisu’s astonishment, dark energy coalesced around her, sickly and stale in the air. The light from Starlight Dream’s core seemed to shrink from the pure evil emitting from the girl. Blood gushed from her arm as Reiko drove a hand into it, sprouting like a fountain.
“What is this?” Seina retreated a step.
“Is she crazy?” Emiyo trembled where she stood, sickened as the Dark Magical delighted in bathing in her own blood. It’s gained a life of its own, moving in globules around the lunatic.
“I’m not like the other dark magical girls, even the other Devil Princesses,” Reiko said, her voice becoming less human. “I’ve completely given myself to the darkness, invested it into my very blood. Every drop has the malevolence of the Poison Ivy. You hear that, Wicked Queen? I’ve transcended you!”
Blood squirted faster from her arm wound, covering her fingers in sickly claws of crimson evil that extended to the floor. The room dimmed as the lifeblood of the multiverse recoiled farther away.
“Look out!”
While Arisu had already seen the attack coming, its speed was beyond anything she’d expected, catching her flatfooted. Seina showed her stuff, her staff deflecting the crimson claws and splattering blood everywhere. This had been a mistake. Bits of blood splashed onto the other girl’s skin.
“Get it off, now!” But her vision already came to pass as the vile blood seeped into her skin, blacking her entire right arm as it spread like an infection. Seina screamed as her body tore apart from within, rotting it away before anyone could even blink.
Too slow. I should have foreseen that quicker! Arisu cursed as she realized just how weakened she’d become. Before her imprisonment, she could foretell years in advance. She usually never did, but it’d still been at her fingertips.
“You’re becoming a part of me, Seina,” Reiko said, giving a manic grin. “Your blood is becoming my blood!”
“Bastard!” But Emiyo rushed to aid, her hoop slicing off Seina’s infected arm before Reiko could spread further. The nutcase’s glee died as Emiyo’s hoop passed through where the missing limb had been, restoring it to a point before it’d gotten damaged.
“Damn.” Arisu whistled. Were these the powers magical girls had nowadays? It was an impressive bit of time manipulation.
“Thanks,” Seina said, backing away in fright as Reiko approached. Everyone kept their distance, not wanting to suffer the same fate as Seina’s late arm.
Reiko cackled. “You’re scared, Arisu? So much for the Wicked Queen! Running like a scared mouse!”
“You have some guts saying that.” But Arisu didn’t take the bait, running hundreds of scenarios through her head. Dammit, she was still so weak. This, of course, won’t stop her from kicking Reiko’s crazy ass.
“She’s so cool. It’s like nothing scares her!” Seina said, amazed. Which was the point, of course. Looking scared would destroy morale. A girl needed to maintain her reputation.
“Pointless, pointless!” Their opponent only increased the ferocity of her attacks, blood tendrils keeping the others at bay as she focused her wrath on the Wicked Queen. The window for victory seemed to decrease at every exchange as Reiko’s crazed attacks hounded her.
But that was okay. Even a chancce as slight one in a trillion was all Arisu needed. Her opponent’s claws scraped against Arisu’s summoned staff, putting them face-to-face. Tendrils grew from her claws, stabbing at the exposed Wicked Queen. But she didn’t even bother dodging as Arisu gathered power into her staff. While she sucked at magic, she had some tricks. The blood burst into flame as her power repelled it.
Seina proved her worth by summoning destructive bubbles, limiting Reiko’s movements. With her future sight, Arisu flittered around them, striking at Reiko’s blind spots. Emiyo was a wild card, her time magic keeping her unpredictable, even to Arisu.
“To the right!” Arisu yelled to Emiyo, who followed by instinct. Arisu’s staff struck a nearby bubble, causing a burst of destructive energy. Their opponent slipped to the side, only to scream in pain as Arisu’s thrown staff burst another nearby bubble.
“Impressive power.” That Seina girl was stronger than she looked, considering the state of Reiko’s shoulder. But the mad girl only laughed, her smile too wide.
“I wish for all of Seina’s bubbles to burst at thrice their power!” Reiko shouted. Fire consumed the chamber, bursting with the power of a million exploding suns. While her future sight helped, her summon shield burst like it’d been made of cheap plastic.
“Damn.” Her entire body ached, coughing smoke from her lungs. But she was a tough bastard, taking the damage in stride. Emiyo wasn’t as fortunate, the poor girl was a bloody charred mess. She’d recover, but it’d take time. Only Seina, her human friend, and the fairies seemed alright, the bubble shield surrounding them taking the full brunt of the damage. No, Arisu realized, Seina had summoned a bubble whose inside existed in a different universe. Clever.
“Pest. Pest. Pest!” Arisu’s eyes widened when she saw what remained of Reiko. She’d lost her head, her entire upper torso gone. But she wasn’t dead, far from it. Blood sprouted from the wound, her lips moving on a half-constructed head. What the hell?
“Oh, come on.” Seina’s partner said. “Why can’t you die!”
“I’ve transcended being a magical girl. Beyond life. A construct of pure evil. Merely killing my body won’t kill me!” A smile grew on her blood lips, extending past her ears. “I wish the explosion would happen all over again!”
Arisu cursed, seeing the explosion coming, but could do nothing about it. It hurt. It hurt bad. Even Seina had been unprepared, taking the full brunt of the fire as she protected her human friend. Arisu didn’t see what happened to Emiyo.
“And I wish for the explosion to happen again and again!” Reiko screamed, her manic laughter filling the chamber.
The resulting explosion was too much. Whatever mini-dimension was holding the underground chamber burst to pieces, reality flowing back into the room. It hurt like hell. She coughed from half-formed lungs as she crawled free from the rubble. When the reality bubble burst, it took a significant chunk of Starlight Dream’s surface with it. Kilometers of the city were reduced to ash, leaving a blemish on the focal center of the multiverse’s surface.
Arisu coughed again, her entire body hurting like hell. With effort, her skeletal body pushed through the rubble. She lowered into a crouch and moved to get a cigarette. She grunted in annoyance that her favorite cigs had burned to ash. “Damn.”
As her body reconstructed itself, Arisu looked up and admired a view she hadn’t seen in literal ages. It brought an unexpected tear to her eye to see the majesty of the multiverse, even if smoke and dust obstructed it. Damn, she was getting soft in her old age. Arisu still remembered when she’d first arrived at Starlight Dream, Charity in tow, staring up at the endless dots constituting all reality. It had awed her and humbled her too. That was hard to do to a stubborn punk like her.
“You ain’t dead either?” Arisu said, not turning as a vision told her what she’d already guessed.
“Can’t. Not when you still live, Wicked Queen.” Reiko said, her body little but bits of twisted, seared flesh. “Of course, I’m still alive. I wished I cou’t die long ago.”
“How irritating,” Arisu replied, standing firm on her reformed legs. While she sucked at magic, she had powerful healing abilities.
“And now you’re all alone. The final member of the old guard magical girls, sans one. With no allies to save you.”
This only earned a snort from Arisu. “You think that matters? Always been alone, fought alone. The others were friends, comrades, but they never understood me. All except Hinata and Charity. They were my family.”
“And now only one remains. Hinata’s dead. Yuuka killed her. Never liked her. A self-righteous b**** who talked too much. Did you know what Yuuka did to silence her?”
Now Arisu was mad. It was bait, drawing her into making a mistake. But that didn’t matter. No spoke ill about her kin. She didn’t give a damn about this monster being immortal. She was going to kick her crazy ass!
“You think you can beat an immortal with your fists?” The vile magical girl laughed as Arisu threw her fist into her half-solidified body. She wasn’t as mirthful as Arisu channeled her fury into magical might, howling as the Wicked Queen’s light magic tore her substance to pieces. While a piss-poor human, Arisu Ikehara was still a holy warrior of the light.
“Damn you!” Reiko scattered blood, only for it to reform in the air and slash wildly at her hated foe. Arisu winced as a tendril drove deep into her legs, inflecting it with death. The Wicked Queen only responded by punching the bastard harder.
Both combatants were panting as they tried to recoup their strength. Immortal or not, Reiko still didn’t have unlimited magical reserves. She tried wishing herself fresh, but Arisu stopped that nonsense before it happened.
“Damn you! Damn you!” A puddle of red goop said, undulating as it cursed the Wicked Queen’s name.
“Instead of whining, how about wishing me a new box of cigs? Seven Stars, if you don’t mind.” The infection spread further through her leg to her waist, but Arisu ignored it. It was stubborn, resisting her holy magic. Restoring herself from the previous explosion had taxed her past the breaking point. But the Wicked Queen refused to be broken.
“Say, you said, Kaguya, right? She’s behind this?” Arisu gestured to the stake she’d implanted into Starlight Dream’s surface. Cracks and black splotches grew across its surface, spreading ever quicker. And here Arisu had thought she’d finally gotten rid of her.
“Turned the entire cosmos into a hellhole just for you.” Reiko said, her laughter mocking. “Got Mei wrapped around her fingers.”
“Kaguya.” Blackness spread into her fingers, but she ignored it as she tightened it into a firm grip. She didn’t need a history book to guess what her former school friend had done. It wasn’t hard to guess her plan. As usual, her machinations had caused harm. Her old friend couldn’t help but reach for what didn’t belong to her. Always taking instead of earning. Becoming a monster when life disappointed her.
“I’ll handle her later. Are you gonna wish me some cigs are not?”
“******* pest. Just die already.” A spike shot from the puddle of ooze, directed right at the Wicked Queen’s heart. Of course, Reiko had been using their short conversation to gather power and weaken the Wicked Queen from within with her evil blight. It’d worked. Arisu had lost any ability to move her lower body. But she wasn’t worried.
“What?” The vile magical girl gasped as her tendrils exploded, vanishing into dust.
“About time.” Arisu had been buying for time too. She knew something the maniac hadn’t. Her allies weren’t dead.
“But I atomized you!” The puddle bubbled in shocked outrage, furious at such an unlikely survival.
“I crawled inside my hoop and escaped five minutes into the past,” Emiyo said. “Seina will come along soon enough.”
“I’m sure.” Seina had taken the brunt of the damage to protect her taller, older friend, trapping her in rubble. But she’d escape once her grievous injuries healed. Not that she’d return anytime soon. The Wicked Queen and the novice stood alone against this monster.
Arisu had previously only seen death, but maybe Emiyo’s time powers would alter the future to one where victory was possible.
“Whatever.” Reiko threw her head back and laughed. “What do you expect to do, traitor? Look at you! You’re cringing just looking at me! You’ve always been a waste of space!”
After taking a deep breath, steel entered Emiyo’s eyes. “No. I’ve grown thanks to her. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m grateful to Seina. She’s made me someone better. For once, I’m happy with my life and my choices. I’ve become a bird set free. I’ve soured higher than you, Devil Princess. Look at you. You’ve lost anything that’s made you human.”
“Who gives a ****!” Reiko’s melted face formed into a scowl. “Being human has only been a weakness!”
A look of pity grew on Emiyo’s features for the mad magical girl, mouth forming in a firm line. “And we’re putting you down, or your own sake.”
“Try if you can!” The puddle surged forward, slashing wildly at the interloper. They flashed around the ruins, Emiyo just keeping her opponent at bay. Despite wearing herself out to an insane degree, Reiko only kept coming.
A step stomped forward as Arisu forced her body to agree with her. While sluggish, she could move again. Or so she thought, until a blood spear pierced her torso, driving Arisu to her knees. Even with prediction powers, Reiko was too ruthless and canny to allow an opponent any chance to recover. But the Wicked Queen had planned on this reaction. A nifty distraction for an overconfident bastard.
“Wicked Queen!” Emiyo said, eyes wide. She focused her magic, slowing time to an insane standstill. Her hoop battered away at their opponent, using its properties not to destroy but erase. Immortality didn’t matter if you didn’t exist.
The Wicked Queen watched in fascination as Reiko’s future timeline distorted. It was twisting and turning like a drunk trying to look into a kaleidoscope.
With her waning magical girl defenses and body so spread apart, the mad magical girl’s ability to protect herself slipped apart. Reiko’s attacks became more frantic as she realized she’d pushed herself too far.
“Gah!” Emiyo screamed as an unlucky twist of a waist got her in range of Reiko’s blood tendril, but retaliated by erasing it into nothing. But this earned Reiko the split second necessary to gain the needed distance.
“You think you got me cornered? Fools!” Reiko said, her misshapen head beaming.
“Yeah, you’re all so dead!” Justice said, laughing.
“I wish for all my injuries to be healed!” And her body did as instructed, reforming her back into her magical girl form. But Arisu smirked, knowing there was a slight problem.
“What the?” Emiyo recoiled, horrified and almost losing her lunch.
“Impossible! It can’t be!” Her fleshy, skeletal mouth said from her now twisted and deformed body.
“No! Reiko!” Her partner said, frozen in horror.
“Idiot. Did you forget you can’t make an impossible wish?” Arisu said, limping forward towards the mangled flesh that was Reiko. “She erased bits of you from history, and you ain’t getting them back, even with your powers. Sorry.”
“Damn you all.” What remained of the mad magical girl tried to repeat her old trick and form her body into something usable. But Arisu won’t allow her the chance.
“You should have wished me those cigs. I would have spared you.”
“No, you can’t!” Reiko said in abject horror.
Arisu stretched her neck and cracked her knuckles. It was time for an old favorite. “Dynamite Punch!”
The punch connected, channeling everything she had. The results were messy, the mad magical girl bursting like a ripe tomato, gore coating everything. Her fairy partner cried, grabbing at the icky remains with frantic paws.
“Hey!” Arisu said, trying to restore the ill Emiyo to her senses.
“Yeah.” The girl’s stomach turned again, but she regained some composure.
“She ain’t dead. Immortal, remember? It won’t be long until she reforms herself. Erase her before she tries anything else.” Arisu collapsed against some rubble, too tired to stand, and her transformation failed. She’d used everything for that trademark punch.
“No, you can’t!” But Justice was ignored as Emiyo erased any trace of her partner. A fitting end for such a psycho.
“Please, no!” The fairy looked at herself as she faded away, unable to keep existing with her partner gone. “We can work something out. My partner can wish for anything! Anything you want!” When Emiyo kept ignoring her, the fairy turned to rage. “You can’t do this! We are the Devil Princesses! The most feared in the multiverse! You can’t do this! We are invincible!”
“No!” The fairy stared at her translucent paw, gripping a paw on Emiyo’s skirt. Anything to save her sorry hide. But it came to nothing, vanishing as the deed was done.
