Once More, we return to Tiamat prompts.

It was a wonderful idea, really! If one of them couldn’t break the barrier, then surely their combined might would do it! And it had! It had worked, even if their remaining humanity was sacrificed. They’d done it, they’d made it where everyone could escape, could leave!

… Except for them. Someone had to close the portal. And it all would have been fine, if not for the remnants of the GIW. One last hail mary from the imbeciles, they all supposed. Trapping them here within the Zone.

Separated from their families, from the pair of children they had agreed to raise. At least their siblings would watch over Ellie and Jordan. Kyle could hide them, make sure they were safe. Jazz… Jazz was gone, the final straw in this plan.

They screamed, they raged, they destroyed in grief for those that didn’t make it, and for those who had but had nowhere to go. No portals opened, even as they tore at the green around them. They fought, any that thought they were weak, that they were merely a beast, an abomination trapped in chains of science and gold.

There was nothing that could be done, Frostbite had said, sympathy in his voice. No way to turn back the clock with how entwined they had become, Clockwork had explained. The only thing they could do was wait, Pandora had tried to sooth, despite it doing nothing.

They wrenched open the coffin in a hazy fury, tearing apart armies like it was blades of grass. Their maws devoured dead who had lost themselves and become mere husks and thralls, lashing tails ripping through armour like it was nothing.

And then as titans, they clashed with the one who had once stolen the city here. There was no desperation from them this time, no armor besides scales unbreakable as flames and storms and ice and thorns ripped islands apart. There was no desperation besides that of their opponent’s.

There was a pleasure in their victory, before it was wrenched away. What use was a crown when their family wasn’t there? When their daughter, their son, their children were not there by their side?

Paulina laughed, hysterical as ectoplasm dripped from her maw as Kwan howled. Their body was covered in it, their rampage that had no use, no reason leaving a trail of destruction behind them. Is this what they wanted?

No.

Danny raised his head from the dissolving corpses to look towards the obliterated roof of the Keep, once so terrifying now turning to dust like the crown. The crown reforming above their heads, heavy and almost choking.

They would carry this weight together. Would restructure things, would do what they had wanted to do for Amity before the Barriers. They’d work together to rebuild the Realms, make it safer, make it safe for those newly dead.

No matter how long it took, no matter how hard it would be to fix the destruction they had wrought in this meaningless battle. (“Danny, you’re the spokesperson,” Sam spoke up, thorn-like scales ruffling. “You’re most familiar with the realms thanks to the Infinimap.” Fair. “We’ll need allies, we’re only nine people.”)

(“Let me talk to the egyptian afterlife,” Tucker sounded exhausted, hood folding back. “I’m most familiar with them… Star, Paulina, you’re both Princess Dora’s favorites-”)

(“We can do it. Just give us time.” “Maybe a to-do list.” “Clockwork. We need to talk to Clockwork, he’d be most familiar with this.” “Rest first, nerds. We’re all… exhausted.”)

(Valerie laughed tiredly, blades melting to heal a broken horn. “Time isn’t linear here Dash. You know that. I know that. For once we’re the ones with time to spare.” It would take years to get things up to snuff. Make things Safe for when they could bring their families here.)

Their eyes opened as the now flimsy chains shattered, a smile stretching across the shared face of their humanoid form. Soon. They could return to the mortal realm soon. Just a little more, and they could see their little ones. They'd waited a thousand years, they could wait a few days more.

Ahem, so, uhh, turns out the characters of Jujutsu Kaisen fit pretty well as Night Raven College students, temperament-wise, and that was all the excuse I needed. Yes the ages get funky but whatever. Happy high school AU except they still get cool powers and Trauma(tm). Just less than JJK canon so I count it as a win.

I also may or may not have written an entire oneshot (here on AO3) for some freshmen Satoru & Suguru bonding, featuring me still bullying Satoru over his funky eyes.

Gojo Satoru (of the Jupiter Clan)

Ignihyde Housewarden Year: Junior Species: Sky Dragon (Fae) Club: Movie Analysis Club Unique Magic: Six Eyes—pretty much just like canon Six Eyes. They can see far and wide and out of normal sight, and they can see magic in a highly detailed manner. They are also powered by magic that just, never stops ever, so he can decrease or increase the power/range at will to a degree, but technically, cutting off magic from them altogether will blind him. Also he has an inherited magic that he by no means asked for, which is, sad drumroll, Gate of the Underworld. (There are no shrouds in this AU, just me finding ways to forever make Satoru instrumental to the well-being of the world to his own detriment. I have waaaaay more thoughts about the "Jupiter Clan of dragons" and what that actually entails, but they are still jumbled and shifting, so. Maybe later.)

Geto Suguru (of the Draconia Clan)

Diasomnia Housewarden Year: Junior Species: Night Dragon (Fae) Club: Equestrian Club Unique Magic: Magic-eater—can consume and nullify any spell and gain its base magic. With minimum side effects. Mostly. :)

Satoru and Suguru are their usual brand of special-grade menaces, being the only two adolescent dragon fae in the world, buttttt they still inevitably become besties. With Shoko too, of course, who has no fear and will mess with them as they see fit.

Suguru is essentially Malleus in this AU, though in Suguru-fashion, he's way more stubborn when it comes to trying to catch up. (Translating him being new to sorcery to being new to technology was surprisingly low-hanging fruit.) Meanwhile I borrowed the Jupiter name/legacy because it was fitting and made the Gojo Clan into a long-lived dynasty of antisocial dragons who fist-fight and deal with Phantoms and recently accidentally became a tech empire, which is pretty close to the Sorcerer Family vibe a la TWST, if I say so myself.

There's definitely a lot of backstory I have in mind for the two of them. Neither of them beat teen parenthood (they are currently Malleus-aged, so 178 years old, but that's still teenagehood for a dragon/fae) and acquired children through various means, much to the consternation of their elders/court. I might develop/write more solid ideas later, but Suguru has a reverse characterization moment when he finds two starved/beaten human children (the twins) and begins his journey of losing all intrinsic racism via love, and Satoru still somehow gets his shit wrecked by Toji (probably a heist gone violent or something) and then finds out he had abandoned children: human Tsumiki and half-fae Megumi.

Ieri Shoko

Ignihyde Vice-Housewarden Year: Junior Species: Merfolk (Nurse Shark) Club: Science Club Unique Magic: Reverse—rewinds a target to its previous state within twenty four hours. The longer within the range, the harder/more magic it will take, especially for larger targets, so realistically her range is less. (For example, if someone cracked a piece of glass 24 hours ago, Shoko could restore it, but a day-old wound on a living being would be much harder.)

Making Shoko a mermaid was a joke to myself at first but then I liked it and it spiraled and now Nurse Shark Shoko is unironically one of my favorite things that I have drawn. The joke was right there too, but it's mostly fun to me because nurse sharks are docile and apathetic creatures, for the large part (they are still sharks lol), and I think match her temperament well.

Also when Satoru pestered the previous housewarden enough times to accidentally gain the title for himself, he made Shoko his vice (mostly because he trusted her) to make sure he never had to do the paperwork and the boring parts. She makes him do it anyway. To the dorm, she is less of a vice and more of a "dragon wrangler," which is still extremely appreciated.

Zen'in Maki

Savanaclaw Housewarden Year: Sophomore Species: Human Club: Track & Field Unique Magic: N/A—Maki doesn't actually have magic of her own, but she is unnaturally resistant to most magic. She can, however, use magic/cast spells through a magic-capable familiar.

She befriended a phoenix when she was younger, having survived an encounter with a wild youth. (idk what I want the details to be but I think it would be cool if she had some related burns to it, with the idea that these creatures are rare and volatile and hard for normal humans to handle without high magic resistance.) His name is Torch because I don't think Maki would put that much thought into a name, so long as its not completely stupid sounding. I almost named the phoenix Jogo but I refrained for my own sanity.

Inumaki Toge

Savanaclaw Year: Sophomore Species: Human Club: Board Game Club Unique Magic: Reality Speak—pretty much just how Cursed Speech works but with a world-friendly name. Also it can apply to inanimate objects as well. The power and scope of the command is proportional to the magic required.

Toge gets an overall nicer time in this AU because he doesn't have cursed speech 24/7 and therefore can speak normally. Though the idea of him being able to affect people/bend reality with his words does freak people out. I imagine he had a rough childhood nonetheless, because why not, leading him to be less verbal than he would have been otherwise.

Okkotsu Yuuta

Diasomnia Year: Sophomore Species: Human Club: Board Game Club Unique Magic: Wraith Pact-maker—he can enhance/bolster a ghost's magic/presence through making a link with himself. It has to be mutual, and it can last for any duration of time, although actively using the link does require magic. The ghost in question gains magic and grounding from Yuuta, and Yuuta can use the ghost's magic, including their UM, if applicable. He can have multiple links, but the first and main recipient of this magic is his childhood friend Rika.

Between her longlasting connection with Yuuta and her brutal death, she is a more wraith-like and powerful ghost. Her unique magic was to copy other people's UMs, which Yuuta can use through her in short bursts.

I didn't have space nor solid ideas for unique magics for the Hasaba twins and the Fushiguros, so I didn't do full bios for them. Later, perhaps. All of the girls are sophomores and Megumi is a freshman. Tsumiki and Nanako are sharing their social brain cell and trading stories of stupid things their dragon dads/older brothers/untitled guardians have done, while Megumi is helping budding-gamer Mimiko learn Pokemon strats. I love the idea of them all being friends, maybe after minimal difficulty in the girls' first year, likely on account of the twins being a little Sebek-shaped, in terms of wanting to be The Best Guards for Suguru, etc etc.

I technically have way more ideas for other characters and other dorms, but, I will end this here, for now. I am trying to reign myself in lmao.

Oh no! oh no! it's time for another dragon au! noooooo (i think this makes three district ones now hehehehe)

something something Melkor sails across the sea and steals the three Silmarils from out of Feanor's nest. I'm not sure he quite expected several dragons to hurl themselves after him, into a strange and unknown land.

These are all quick sketches that took over my mind and I had to get out of my system. Very top is Celebrimbor, he was very young when he flew with his family over the ocean and through some sort of relationship with the elves of Eregion he lives an almost calm life and has all but abandoned his family's maddness for reclaiming the Silmarils.

Below him are Maglor and Maedhros (along with not to scale Elrond and Elros).

And at the bottom is Celegorm. If he ends up being the only one with a beak I can be okay with that :) I want him fast and raptor-like and aggressive looking and he has definitely eaten elves and all manner of other speaking races. He get's be the iconic wester dragon and steal a princess (Luthien) hahaha haven't decided if he's gonna survive that little stunt or not :)

Woohoo!! So this is an AU that I only recently came up with a name for, because up until then I was calling it "The Rebels HTTYD AU." So, basically, it's Rebels, but in the setting of HTTYD, and the plots are kind of combined.

There's also a Mythosaur, as the title implies.

So now I present a snippet for your enjoyment!

“You’re taking this really well,” Ezra said, haltingly. Sabine laughed, but she didn’t sound very amused. “Yeah. Sure. I’m taking this well. I’m taking this great! It’s not like you have a PET DRAGON OR SOMETHING!” “Never mind, you’re taking this horribly. Also, Wolf is my friend, not a pet.” “Oh, and that’s so much better!” She started pacing, waving her arms around like she didn’t know what to do with them. “You start spending time alone, I figure you’re just moody. You start sneaking off, I think maybe you’re just going through the angsty teen phase. You start skipping our training, which you used to say was your favorite part of the week, and I think I must have made you upset or something! But NO! You’re spending all your time hanging out with a DRAGON, instead of—” She broke off her sentence. Ezra stared at her, then crossed his arms and leaned against Wolf’s side. “Instead of?” he repeated, raising an eyebrow. “Instead of—of—doing normal things!” she sputtered, almost sounding a little flustered. He started to smile, but pushed it back. “Instead of… hanging out with you?” “No! Yes! Instead of doing anything! Which, includes, hanging out with me, but also, like, lots of other stuff—” “You’re jealous.” She gaped at him. Then she put her hands on her hips. “I am NOT!” Sabine’s holler echoed through the crevasse, and some ways away, a flock of birds screeched as they burst from the trees. “You’re jealous,” Ezra repeated, biting his lip to keep his grin back. “Of a dragon.” “No, I’m not!” “You are jealous that I’m friends with a dragon.” “I—” She stopped and ran her hands through her hair, and then she threw her arms out with a snarl. “Okay, fine! Maybe I got a little used to being your only friend and maybe it feels a little WEIRD that you’re hanging out with someone else too, but it’s not jealousy! It’s just… other things. That are not jealousy. BECAUSE.” Sabine squared her shoulders and gave him a glare that couldn’t take the grin off his face. “I am NOT. JEALOUS. of a DRAGON.”

Here’s another sneak peek for my AU One-Shot I am human and I deserve to be loved!!

Adrian was well known in Starfall having been there a good amount of times over the years. Each time she visited had been enjoyable for her. She’d come to meet some very interesting people along the way, forming close platonic and intimate relationships.

Batfam Mythical AU Part 1

Bruce - Dragon

He has both a human form and a dragon form. Dragon form is pretty fricken huge. Mostly dark green and black with some dark purple and grey accent colors. He's about as big as the Wayne manor.

I have quite a bit more for this that's both general info and more specific to Bruce and the Batfam.

Don't enter someone else's territory without express permission. Dragons are territorial. If they perceive you as having your own territory or trying to claim theirs, you aren't welcome in their territory. Obviously you can enter their territory if they or a member of their family invite you. (While Bruce takes this seriously, his kids - except for Damian - and their friends do not. It drives him up the wall, because it feels like their friends are trying to encroach on his territory whenever they appear without at least a warning. Jason and Dick are still part of the family so even though they have their own territory they are allowed in Bruce's.)

Shiny gifts mean they want something. Food means they probably want to be friends or to form an alliance. If it's something to add to your personal hoard and aren't already part of your family, then they are trying to court you. (Side note: if the dragon hoards something that can't be gotten or is common to gift as something else like food or gold, courting gifts are commonly given in even numbers. Some dragons will also accept most other species courting gifts as long as the intention is clear.) Someone is supposed to wait with the gift just outside of the dragon's territory to explain/negotiate what they want in return. There's no need for the dragon to give a return gift unless it's a courting gift. In the event that a live person/mythical being is given as a gift, the 'gift' is the one that gets to make the request. Familial gifts are often exchanged, given, and received with no ulterior motive or reason.

Most dragons have a personal hoard and a familial hoard. The familial hoard normally has monetary value and is shared with the family. Personal hoards are personal and normally small enough to fit inside a large wardrobe. Dragons are super strong. Even in human form, they're considered strong. (Not as strong as Superman or Captain Marvel, but strong enough to break a tree with a punch.)

Can take hits better than humans can. Even in human form, a dragon's skin is tougher than any human's.

Even in human form, dragons heal fast. You just shot them in human form? They'll be fine tomorrow.

Can use magic. Some have innate magic that allows them to fly. Some have innate magic that allows them to shapeshift. (Because of his aversion to how unpredictable it can be, Bruce only uses his innate magic. Although, I think his wings manifesting as his cape when he's Batman is a cool idea.)

Most dragons can fly. Some can fly in human form. Wings and lack-there-of is not an indication of their ability to fly. (Bruce can't fly in human form, as his innate flight magic is tied to his dragon form. He can glide though.)

Dragons have deafening roars when mad.

Some dragons have a breath attack. Most common breath attacks are fire, water, and air. Some have the ability to control 1 specific thing. Most common of these things are rocks, water, lava, and clouds. Others don't have an extra ability and are stuck with using their claws, teeth, tails, and roars. (Bruce is one of the ones that don't have an extra ability, but if he did I think it would be controlling clouds because then he could make things foggy or clear the sky or block the sun/moon/stars.)

Wings aren't for flying. That's what their flight magic is for. Their wings are there to help shield their young from harm and from the cold. And for the aesthetic.

Fighting is a form of playing for younger dragons, similar to how most animals play-fight when they're young. The biggest reason dragons are seen as solitary is because pre/teen dragons play-fighting with their younger siblings or their parents tend to get pissy and fly off in a huff.

Kidnapping other species' kids - especially when those kids are experiencing unfortunate circumstances (especially when their parents are the cause) - is not uncommon but isn't exactly common either. Most dragons that do this have a "type" that they take in. (For example; Bruce's "type" is headstrong, violent kids with blue eyes and black hair that want to do good. Some don't have a type at all.) Some (like Bruce) will deviate from their "type" if given a reason. They won't kidnap a child that has their own territory though. (this is the reason Billy isn't one of Bruce's kids)

speaking of dads eagerly accepting invitations to deck building games...

because we cannot have a single interest without it becoming about ocs, have been thinking a lot about human au neil having been an old school hobby shop nerd (he is just the most classic high fantasy lotr nerd so yeah he ate up dnd in middle school and kept up the hobby until he had a kid and his priorities changed) and having been into mtg for a bit too

and now that he is in his late 40s and bedeviled by the youths (trio of annoying transgender 20 year olds led by his two of his friends' son), they are going to be so shocked and awed that he knows what magic is and is willing to play with them. and they are going to laugh at the dorky art in his ancient deck from the ancient bygone era of... 2001
