"Art and love are the same thing: It’s the process of seeing yourself in things that are not you."

what I just dropped into the group chat because there are a lot of Feelings in this Chili's tonight
Look: When Stede gives that little second kiss, it's very easy to be completely distracted by it. This is Stede, so uncertain, so afraid, and in this wonderful moment he's making a choice.
But what's important, okay, what's important is that when Stede relaxes his lips so he can press them in again of his own volition--
Ed, half a second behind, relaxes his mouth as well.
And in doing so, when Stede kisses, Ed's there to meet him. They join the kiss together.
This is how Art expresses Love. We know that a good kiss might mean nothing in the real world-- but because this is a story, and in a story we're allowed to compress a thousand subtle decisions and choices into a single moment that illustrates the whole, what the story shows us in this moment is two men, present and reacting to one another with nothing but breath and touch, their eyes closed and their desires in sync to such a degree that within the space of a heartbeat they are moving in tandem and joining one another in a show of synchronicity that tells us, the audience, that these two are in love.
And in this moment, they are perfect.

Something something, tumblr's only joke
ID: An illustration of a small flower fairy flying next to a walrus. The fairy points with one hand to the left and the other to the right, saying, "I'll try these doors, you try those, and maybe we'll find someone who can help!" The walrus replies, "Okie dokie." End ID

ai generated images make me increasingly sad and tired the more i see them in more and more casual contexts. i dont know how to explain, but it just fills the world with a bunch of nothing. no matter how visually stunning the pictures might be, there's nothing behind it for me. no dedication, no emotions, no feelings, no hard work or creativity, nothing i can truly think about, admire or enjoy. i dont think thats how art is supposed to be
