omg, andromeda and ginny, parvati and harry, peter and lily, petunia and james (humor me)
waaaait i love these!
andromeda and ginny (@saintsenara also asked about andromeda and harry so answering that one here too): poor andromeda. your beloved husband, treasured daughter and the son-in-law you tolerate all die, and then you get (1) seventeen year old trying to do up godparent with his gobby girlfriend in tow. nightmare. in this is what andromeda imagined teddy would be up to each time harry and ginny babysat:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i reckon it takes andromeda a long time to properly warm up to and trust harry and ginny after the war. harry, she understands, has at least some claim to being involved in teddy's life as godfather that she honours even if she doesn't like it: ginny's just an add-on to that. i do tend to like the idea of andromeda as someone who left her family and married for love but who is still marked by her aristocratic origins, who retains a kind of protective conservativism and sense of propriety that makes her a bit sceptical of this guardianship arrangement of 'grandmother plus teenage godson plus his girlfriend apparently'. i think it gets a bit easier with time, though as teddy gets older, i can imagine harry still being quite deferential to andromeda's wishes while ginny's the one to lightly challenge andromeda's authority a bit more and taking a more liberal approach as a guardian to teddy. i can imagine them falling out over ginny buying teddy some booze or to taking him to get a piercing or tattoo or something. (andromeda was born in the mid-fifties, after all). this conflict with ginny reminds andromeda, painfully, of her clashes with dora all those years ago, which just makes it all that bit worse.
parvati and harry: yung parvati definitely fancied harry. and you know what? i maintain that yung harry thought parvati was quite fit too (he's into hair and he stares at hers a bit. i rest my case). i also maintain that the only reason yung harry didn't fancy parvati more is because she giggled too much and he can be such a sourpuss. and as a paid up member of the campaign to let girls giggle (CLGG) i say: justice for patil!
peter and lily: to me, peter was exactly the kind of misogynist dweeb that male friendship groups often pick up early and let slosh around within their ranks for far too long past their expiration date. (you know what i mean! there's so often that one guy! and he sucks! and they're like yeah but he's been here too long there's no getting rid! and then he ignores you when you go with them to the pub! fuck that guy!) i don't think peter and lily were ever close - i'm always struck how in her letter to sirius, lily talks about peter's visit in the context of her trying to have his friends visit to cheer him up, rather than out of her own affection for him ('James is getting a bit frustrated shut up here, he tries not to show it but I can tell — also, Dumbledore’s still got his Invisibility Cloak, so no chance of little excursions. If you could visit, it would cheer him up so much. Wormy was here last weekend, I thought he seemed down, but that was probably the news about the McKinnons...') i tend to subscribe to the view of the marauders that is sirius, peter and, to a lesser but still real extent, remus, all orbiting james, and lily being closest with sirius of those four by virtue of him being james' best mate, but never really being one of the four of them herself, and definitely being least close with peter out of all of them. i don't think lily distrusted peter, but i think the secret-keeper switch shouldn't be taken as sign of great warmth and affection.
petunia and james: james, obviously, thought petunia was a fucking nightmare. petunia, obviously, thought james was a spoiled layabout wastrel of the highest order. she did however get a wee look at lily and james' wedding pictures despite herself and think sirius was really fit. just because she's a dickhead but that doesn't mean she can't have taste!
thanks anon!

Voldemort - 1
Harry - 16
Sirius - 9
Severus - 10
Bella - 13
thank you for the ask @ashesandhackles!
[character ask game here]
1. the canon about them you outright reject:
that he’s incapable of love.
the harry potter series prioritises quite a strange aspect of love: love as suffering and sacrifice. this makes sense within its genre influences, especially the christ-allegory that harry becomes by the end of deathly hallows, but it’s nonetheless a manifestation of love which isn’t particularly accessible to the average person.
the series rarely treats love as a ‘selfish’ thing in a positive way. it never accepts that love can be about receiving attention and adoration and sensory pleasure or that being loved in this way can be comforting, healing, or fun. it is suspicious about people who desire things too much - desire was dumbledore’s downfall with grindelwald; desire is what causes merope to go after tom riddle sr. - and it tends to be mocking of physical and/or sexual desire which is unbridled and unrestrained - how it treats ron and lavender; how bellatrix’s obvious attraction to voldemort is treated like a macabre pantomime.
but these things are love too. they’re not the sort of love that might lead you to sacrifice yourself to save the world, but that’s fine. most orphans who grew up with nothing to sacrifice aren’t going to be able to get on board with that. how they can love, however, is by being loved in return.
16. what is their deepest darkest secret, which they won’t even admit to themselves?
harry tells everyone who'll listen that he adores being a godfather and that he was pleased and proud to be chosen. he worries in silence about how, when teddy asks him for stories about how wonderful his dad was, he’s going to have to lie to him, because he doesn’t have any.
9. the scene that first made you love (or hate) the character:
sirius won my heart when he sent harry a muddy paw print as a good luck card before the third task in goblet of fire.
10. what’s their best moment in the book?
for snape's best moment it’s a toss-up between:
the iconic ‘i know what a nickname is’ conversation, when harry is desperately trying to pretend he hasn’t just committed attempted murder.
the ‘ghosts are transparent’ scene, an example of a teacher at breaking point with the idiocy of his class.
him running rings round bellatrix when she and narcissa come to spinner’s end, with a shit-eating grin on his face the whole time. particularly when he points out that daddy likes him more because he can do something other than complain about the food in azkaban and bella is rattled.
13. what’s the dumbest thing they’ve ever done?
without a doubt, it’s bellatrix giving the game away about the horcrux in her vault because she’s incapable of subtlety, although i do respect that she manages to play it so it’s lucius who gets beaten to a pulp for the cock-up and not her.

It’s past midnight where I am, so here’s today’s @wolfstarmicrofic for the prompt swing. For @impishtubist who’s had a bad week, hope this cheers you up at least a little, darling.
”Pa’foot!” Harry shrieks as he spots him walking through the gate to the school, setting off into a run and Sirius just about manages to catch him as the boy throws himself into his arms.
”Hiya, sprog,” he laughs, feeling his chest expand as he hugs the boy, pressing a quick kiss to the top of his head, knowing it’s something Harry will grow out of any moment now. But for the time being it’s allowed, and he spins him around before setting him back down on the ground. ”Eager to get home, are we?”
”No,” Harry shakes his head, blinking up at him with bright green eyes. ”Don’t want to go home.”
”Oh?” Sirius asks, ruffling his hair. ”Where d’you wanna go then?”
”I want to go with Teddy,” says Harry, already tugging Sirius along with him, but not towards the exit but rather back towards the school. ”Teddy has a swing and a trampoline behind his house and I think that would be so cool to try and Teddy says it’s very safe and he says he can jump super high and I think if I could just try and jump on a trampoline I’d be very good at it too but if you say I can’t then at least I can swing and you know how much I love to swing and–”
”Whoa, Haz,” Sirius laughs, holding a hand up as he pulls the boy gently to a stop. ”First thing’s first: who’s Teddy? There’s no-one in your class with that name.”
”There is now,” Harry says, practically jumping on the spot as he shoots his godfather an impatient look. ”He started today and he’s all new here and he doesn’t know anyone so I said we could be friends and did I say he has a trampoline and a swing?”
”You did,” Sirius confirms, trying not to smile at the boy’s obvious eagerness. ”But we don’t know if it’s okay with Teddy’s parents yet.”
”Teddy’s daddy said it was,” Harry interrupts eagerly, ”Come oooon, Padfoot!”
Sirius lets Harry tug him along then, towards a boy with brown curly hair that looks about the same age as Harry albeit a bit taller.
”This is Teddy,” announces Harry with a gesture to the boy, ”and Teddy’s daddy.”
Sirius smiles at the boy before shifting his gaze over to the man next to him, his hand extending automatically and he’s got the polite greeting on his tongue but then his gaze moves up to catch on golden eyes and oh.
Sirius feels his world tilt a little, the golden eyes light and shining as he meets Sirius gaze, face framed by brown curls identical to the boy’s and skin impossibly tanned. Oh, Sirius thinks again, numbly.
”Hello,” the man says, voice warm and with a melodic sort of accent that Sirius can’t immediately place. ”You must be Harry’s dad.”
”Godfather,” Sirius corrects automatically before he catches himself, realising how short he must’ve sounded, ”Er, I mean, well, godfather, technically, but also his guardian–”
”Padfoot’s my Padfoot,” Harry explains, tugging at Sirius’ arm keenly. ”Can we go, Padfoot, please?”
”Padfoot?” the man asks, an amused sort of curl to his lips and Sirius can’t help but smile as he looks down at the black haired boy, excitement radiating from him.
”It’s, well…a nickname, I guess,” he shakes himself, turning his eyes back to the man. ”My name’s Sirius.”
The man smiles properly then, shaking his hand, grip firm and warm and the long fingers closing easily around Sirius’. Oh.
”Nice to meet you, Sirius, I’m Remus. And this is Teddy,” he gestures towards the boy who is chatting away happily at Harry, the two of them practically buzzing with excitement.
”Er,” Sirius says again, once he’s managed to tear himself away from the man’s (Remus’) piercing gaze, ”well, Harry said something about wanting to go with Teddy but I don’t want to inconvenience you if–”
”It’s no inconvenience,” Remus assures him before he has a chance to finish the sentence. ”We live just around the corner from here and we just moved in. It’s just me and Teddy so I’m only happy if Teddy’s managed to make a friend on his first day. Really, it’s no problem.”
”Oh, right,” Sirius says, frantically searching for something else to say even as Harry is practically hanging from his arm now, pulling at him. Just me and Teddy, echoes in his head and he steals a furtive glance at the man’s left hand. No ring. ”Well, then…”
He trails off, unable to think of anything else to say, as if he’s completely forgotten everything about how to set up a playdate and he drops his eyes to Harry, the boy groaning dramatically and impatiently, and Sirius recognises it as him being only about half a minute away from a tantrum.
”You could come too.”
Remus’ voice pulls Sirius’ thoughts back and he looks up at the man again. He’s tall, just about taller than Sirius himself which is no mean feat. And his eyes. Sirius can’t look away.
”What?” He asks, because his brain feels foggy.
Remus nods, amusement dancing in his eyes and mouth quirked into a smile, ”Yeah, it wouldn’t hurt if I made a friend on Teddy’s first day either,” he pauses, an uncertain sort of pull around his mouth as he studies him, “Unless you’ve got somewhere else to be?”
”No,” Sirius says quickly, too quickly, he scolds himself but it’s too late now and he clears his throat. ”I mean, that’d work, we just planned to– god’s sake, Harry, stop pulling at me,” he interrupts himself, a little exasperated as he looks down at the boy who pouts at him.
”But you’re taking too long. Can we go or not?” He demands, and Sirius can see James hinting in his features, the steely sort of determination that he used to see on James’ face whenever they played football.
Sirius’ gaze flickers to Remus for a moment but the other man merely makes a half shrug, that same smile still playing over his face as he raises an eyebrow in question.
”Yeah alright, we can go,” Sirius says, unable not to smile at the joyous shouts that emits from the boys, both of them setting off over the school yard.
”Wait for us by the gate, Teddy,” Remus calls out after his son, a fond sort of expression on his face as he watches them run and it makes Sirius melt in an instant.
”You coming?” Remus asks, tossing his head in the direction of the boys, brown curls dancing with the movement and they’re close enough now that Sirius can see traces of faint, silvery scars on the side of his face, almost hidden in the wrinkles around his eyes as he smiles.  Sirius feels something hot spark in his chest, something unclenching there that hadn’t been unclenched in a very long time and all he can do is nod as Remus starts walking, swallowing thickly as he follows behind.
Oh, he thinks again as Remus starts moving, unashamedly running his gaze over his backside now that he can, before he quickly lengthen his steps to catch up with the other man, his heart doing cartwheels in his chest. I’m so fucked.

dear miss padfootastic: harry learning he's gonna be a dad and promptly losing his mind and going to the only person he can think of for dad advice: sirius.
gosh miss imp i have so many thoughts about this!!!!!! (i wrote almost all of this and realised that i did it post birth lol bc that’s the moment that made the most sense to me but we can easily doctor it to be pre birth as well!!)
- the first time harry holds james sirius in his hands, he has to dip out in three minutes flat to puke all over the nearest washroom. it’s sirius holding him, brushing his hair back, and soothing him on the dirty hospital floor. tells him that he did something super similar when he held harry for the first time too. it doesn’t hit harry then.
- when they’re all back at home, the first few days, it’s all a sort of frantic autopilot where he has no time to think. it’s only when things calm down a bit that he realised how his hands shake and his pulse races when he thinks about being a father. it’s not…debilitating bc it’s his duty, one he asked for, and harry’s never been one to back down from a duty. but it’s still—he doesn’t want to be a passable dad, he wants to be a good one.
- so he goes to the best one he knows: sirius.
- the thing here is, harry thinks he’s gonna be a terrible dad. he was abused and neglected in his most developmental stages of life, never really knew what unconditional love felt like let alone parental, and does not trust himself around a vulnerable defenceless child. knowledge of his anger and it’s consequences does not help.
- but also to consider: sirius had almost an exact similar experience. he was equally terrified to be a godfather for harry bc he never trusted himself w delicate things. so he knows, intimately, what’s it’s like to fear yourself.
- it doesn’t get better with one conversation. sirius knew this going in. what he does, instead, is help harry become confident by being there, always, without fail. makes him see that he’s got this down pat, and his child loves and trusts and adores him and there’s no greater privilege than that. he’s there every single time as a safety net, to tell harry that nothing will go wrong, yes, but also to prove he doesn’t need anyone else.
- it’s also a whole lot of ‘omg this is so difficult, you did this for me?????’ and just. realisations about ‘omg u changed my diaper??? i peED ON YOU??????’ that basically make it impossible for him to look sirius in the eye for a few days.
- another point to consider: harry sees sirius with jemmy from an outsider pov yeah? and he can finally see what others have all this time: how sirius looks at someone he loves wholeheartedly, how much he adores his children. and it’s humbling and awe-inspiring and a bit terrifying. imagining the full force of that love directed towards him, making him wonder what he did to deserve it
- there’s a loooooot of midnight/asscrack of morning firecalls/mirror calls etc for emergency assistance bc ‘are babies supposed to sleep like tho at! he’s been farting all night sirius iTS SO BAD! omg his poop is green padfoot is my baby toxic?????’ ykno. normal new dad stuff.
(and this is random but there’s also one,,,,forbidden conversation with sirius about it he’d ever hated him bc harry had some very unsavoury thoughts in the beginning when he had teddy that he hates himself for to this day and if he has to hear his godfather say he didn’t want him to get rid of them then he’ll do it. it’s a tough but necessary one)

a fluffy dramione story told through newspaper articles
find out what this is about
this is Part 1
The Sunday Prophet
Here’s the Real Reason Ron Weasley & Hermione Granger Broke Up & Where They Stand Now
They are one of several "war-heroe" couples to have dated, although the only one that didn’t last.
London (2004). “Too young, too soon” a source summed up the relationship between two of Harry Potter’s best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They split in 2002 after four years together. “They still have a lot of love for one another, and they remain close,” the insider said. “It just wasn’t working.” It is understood by this newspaper that Mr. Weasley grew uneasy about Granger’s ambition and involvement in politics, wishing for a quieter life for himself. A source also told the Daily Prophet at the time that there was “no drama” in Granger and Weasley’s breakup and confirmed that the two ended their relationship on good terms. “There was no drama, they’ve been apart while working. They still care about each other,” the insider said.
The evening Prophet
published on March 26, 2006
On other magic news: Today, following a low-profile filing of legal papers, head of the British Auror Office, Harry J. Potter, 26, and special adviser to the minister on Dark Magic Artefacts, Draco L. Malfoy, 26, were officially named legal guardians of Ted Lupin, 8, after concerns about his grandmother’s health. “It is just a precaution”, Mr. Malfoy’s attorney at Wizarding Law, Theodore W. Nott, assured the Daily Prophet. “Everybody involved wants what’s best for Ted. He will remain in Andromeda’s care at this point but can easily – and legally - move in with Mr. Potter and his family (wife Ginny Weasley and son James Sirius; Editor’s note) should his grandmother’s health decline any further”. The Daily Prophet has learned that Mr. Malfoy, as head of Ted’s extended family, will oversee Ted’s finances from this moment forward until he is of age. While Harry Potter, who was named Ted Lupin’s godfather by his late parents, is the obvious choice for this guardian role, it can only be assumed that Mr. Malfoy, a former death-eater, was chosen because he feels a sense of responsibility for his cousin as it was “his side” who killed little Teddy’s parents at the battle of Hogwarts in May 1998. Mr. Malfoy, whose life makes for a glorious tale of redemption, is married to Astoria and has one infant-son, Scorpius. They have long abandoned the family's residence at Malfoy Manor and reportedly live in a small(er) London town house.

Phosphenes
New Story! FFN and AO3
Harry isn't one to keep secrets, unless he knows that the secret is worth keeping for a few days. And when it comes to surprising Ginny and Teddy, it's usually worth it. A Muggle AU Hinny fluffy one-shot.
My wonderful friend @thisismegz had a big celebration last month and on the one month anniversary of that event, I'm dropping this little gem of domestic AU Hinny bliss. Congratulations, darling! May happiness follow you all your life!
Phosphenes
Ginny gasped as Harry opened the door and pulled her against him, claiming her lips with his own.
"This is your fault." She sighed as she kissed along his jaw.
"I couldn't wait anymore." He pressed her against the door to close it. "I told you as much. However, I didn't think about the fact that you would still be leaving in the morning for two away games in a row. But now that you're home-"
"Ginny!"
Harry chuckled and pulled away to scoop Teddy up in his arms.
"Hi, Teddy!" Ginny promptly took Harry's godson from him. "How are you?"
"Good! I got up early and talked with Mummy and Daddy!"
"And are they finding lots of dinosaur bones for you?"
"Daddy says they aren't digging that deep but Uncle Harry says we'll go to the museum and I can dig up the ones there."
"Oh that does sound fun. Do I get to come too?"
"Yes!" Teddy kissed her cheek. "Uncle Harry takes us to the cafe with the yummy brownies when you come."
"Then I think I must come so you can have your brownie." Ginny kissed Teddy back.
"Uncle Sirius and Aunt Marlene might join us for that by the way." Harry tickled Teddy's side. "Marlene has a meeting at the museum this afternoon."
"Are we going today then?"
"I thought it would be a good way to celebrate after we tell him."
"You haven't told him?"
"Told me what?"
"You told your parents right? Because I called mine the next morning from the airport."
"I told my mum and dad but asked them to let me tell everyone else." Harry casually checked his phone as he leant against the wall.
"Tell me what?"
"Why on earth would you wait? Harry, it's been nearly two weeks!"
Teddy pulled her face into his little hands and pressed his forehead against hers. "Tell me what!"
Ginny laughed and kissed Teddy's nose. "Harry asked me to marry him Teddy, and I said yes."
Teddy cheered and threw his little arms around her neck. "Yes! Now you'll be my Aunt Ginny and you'll be here whenever I come to stay with Uncle Harry and we'll always get brownies after the museum!"
Ginny turned to Harry who had his phone pointing at her and Teddy. "Are you recording this?"
"That's why I waited to tell him." He smiled back at her. "A kid ought to have something to remember from when his godfather gave him a godmother."
"I don't think it works that way." Ginny wiped at the tears trying to fill her eyes.
"We'll make it work that way. Now, Teddy, should we take your new godmother to the museum?"
"Yes! I'll get my shoes." He shimmied until Ginny put him down and then went running for his room at Harry's until his parents returned from their dig.
Harry wrapped his arms around her and kissed her soundly. "I love you."
"I love you too." She melted as he kissed behind her ear. "Do Sirius and Marlene know? Or Remus and Tonks?"
Harry chuckled, "Yes, everyone knew but Ted."
"So all of this was to rile me up?"
"You're cute when you're miffed." He brought his lips back to hers. "Besides, you can't tell me that wasn't the best way to tell Teddy."
"I'm in for it aren't I?" Ginny laughed and wondered if they might be able to tire Teddy out enough to get him to take a nap this afternoon.
"Nah, only when we have big things to announce."
"Then heaven save me when we have our first kid."
Harry laughed and kissed her. "Don't worry, I'll behave myself when we reach that point."
"I'm ready!" Teddy came barreling into the entryway. "Let's go!"
"Just let me grab my keys." Harry kissed her once more before moving for his keys.
"Ginny?" Teddy took her hand.
"Yes, love?"
"Can I call you Aunt Ginny or do I have to wait until you and Uncle Harry are married?"
Ginny swallowed the little lump of emotion that climbed up her throat. "You can call me Aunt Ginny now."
Teddy wrapped his arms around her legs and held on tight. "I love you, Aunt Ginny!"
Harry smiled at her from the corridor and Ginny laughed as a single tear escaped down her cheek. "I love you too, Teddy."

It's divorce season here on Wolfstar Tumblr. Which too-young-too-fast het canon ship got divorced the fastest and why?
Jily
Hinny
Romione
Bonus question:
Assuming everyone lived at the end of the seven true canon books, how long did Remadora stay married before Remus cut out to live in the Shrieking Shack as a hermit?
WE LOVE WOLFSTAR DIVORCE especially when they get divorced and stay divorced (i.e. everyone needs to read Grey's Fault Lines immediately, it's so good). Enough of this idea that you can only have One True Love in your life and not multiple loves throughout your life who are all equally important. Also I just love Sirius and Remus being divorced and Sirius living his best life after that 🥰
Anyway, James/Lily get divorced the fastest. Harry is too damn stubborn to give up on his wife-and-children-white-picket-fence dream, so it takes him several years (and three children) to finally admit this isn't the life he wants. Ron/Hermione last a good couple of decades because Ron's oblivious to the fact that he's unhappy and Hermione is even more stubborn than Harry.
AND YES WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BONUS QUESTION. So here's my crack fic idea: Remus breaks Sirius's heart by rejecting him for Tonks (not that Remus is into women, but he thinks he should want this, bi people exist but Remus isn't one of them), so Sirius eventually moves on and falls in love with/marries Kingsley. Remus still tries to run away after Tonks gets pregnant, but this time it's Sirius and Kingsley who go off on him about it. He comes crawling back, but then lasts one (1) week after the Battle of Hogwarts before he runs away to live as a hermit in the Shrieking Shack. Sirius and Kingsley, as Teddy's godfathers, step up to help Tonks raise him.

hi
Do you have any post DH headcanons about Andromeda?
Ooooh anon I have many, but here's ten:
She is Teddy's guardian. Harry (and Ginny and eventually the kids) are a big part of Teddy's life, but Andromeda is the one who raises him. She and Teddy are very close, and Teddy will go to her for comfort and advice 99% of the time (of course there are some things he is more comfortable speaking to his godfather about)
She struggles a lot for the first year after the war with her grief and her mental health and just finding herself raising a baby after she thought that part of her life was over. She struggles to let other people in, but Harry is there, quietly inserting himself into her life and later on she is grateful he didn't let her push him away.
She continues making potions to support herself and Teddy. Luckily her and Ted were in a very solid financial position. Harry offers her part of Sirius' inheritance but she turns it down.
She and Molly grow close over their shared understanding of losing a child. Molly teaches Andromeda to cook because it was always Ted who cooked before.
Andromeda and Kingsley reconnect a few years after the war and become good friends.
After Teddy goes to Hogwarts, a spot opens up on the Wizengamot and after Kingsley and Harry encourage her to run for it, she wins and does her part to rebuild a better wizarding world.
She becomes a surrogate grandmother to the Potter children, who call her Nandromeda, because Teddy called her Nan, and Harry and Ginny called her Andromeda and little James got confused and it stuck.
Narcissa reached out after the war, but Andromeda never responded. There was too much hurt there especially with Narcissa's husband and child having survived the war.
BUT! Andromeda meets Scorpius through Albus. She adores this sweet, charming boy who reminds her so much of how her little sister used to be, and he helps to facilitate contact between Andromeda and Narcissa. They're never close, but they do see each other every now and again.
Andromeda had her one true love, and has no interest in starting another relationship, but ends up in a friends with benefits type situation with Kingsley. Kingsley never settled down and is portrayed as a bit of a player by his political opponents so Andromeda starts going to events with him to help get them off his back. They end up sleeping together but it's not a relationship, they still both have their own lives.

@wolfstarmicrofic - june 6th - prompt: explore - this is a nobody dies au okay??
“And this is called the Internet Explorer.” Harry said tiredly, running a hand through his hair, “basically, you can type in that box and search up whatever you want.”
“Fascinating.” Remus said with stoic amusement, and continued to haphazardly poke around the interface. Sirius stood behind Remus’ chair, hands on his shoulders and leaning in close to share a view of the screen.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend searching up yourself, though. That was— an experience.”
For the last hour, Harry had somehow been roped into introducing his godfathers to the Potter’s family computer. Which, really, he should have expected to be difficult, given it’s muggle technology and middle-aged wizards who barely even left the Scottish village. But it wasn’t even that— Sirius, the resident hapless pureblood, was clearly more interested in staring at his husband in reading glasses than the actual screen— but Remus. Remus was, frankly, even worse than Teddy. Ever the curious professor, he insisted on clicking his way through every nook and cranny that no sane computer user should even think to explore. Harry already had to restart the computer twice because Remus accidentally killed a dozen system processes. Though at this point, Harry half-suspected that he was doing it on purpose.
Sirius was, of course, of entirely no help at all. “Come on, you brought this entirely onto yourself, son,” he’d said with a smirk, “What was all that complaining about us never leaving the village?”
Harry watched as the two of them talked and laughed softly between themselves, while Remus scrolled through sketchy-looking articles on the browser homepage.
“Yeah, um... Remus, maybe don’t click on random stuff on the internet, you could accidentally get a virus—”
“Nothing the healer can’t fix, hm?” Sirius said, nudging him with an elbow.
Harry rolled his eyes, “Look, I’ve got some folders in the bookmarks— here— you guys could look through those if you want.”
“Amazing. Thank you, Harry.”
“No problem...” Harry said, thoughts drifting off. He had a smile on his lips, in spite of all the overt annoyance. Ever since graduating Hogwarts, he’d not nearly seen enough of his godparents, but every time, they made him feel full over-the-brim with love and warmth anyway. Harry marvelled at how he’s always trusted them— in his entirely life, there’d been almost no secrets, nothing to hide.
“...Harry?” Remus said after a while, with suspicion enough to thoroughly alarm Harry. His eyes snapped up to see the cursor hovering over a folder. “what in hell is—” Harry’s eyes widened, and felt his stomach drop through him— “Wolfstar?”
“UHM NO DON’T—” Harry lunged forward, but it was too late. The click was made, and the catalogue of arts and edits and links to novel-length fanfictions had spilled onto the screen. Harry turned a panicked look on the unfortunate victims: Remus’ whole face froze, looking terribly bewildered and mortified, but it only took a few moments before Sirius realised what it was, and broke down into roaring laughter.
Harry groaned, running both hands under his glasses. None of this was even his! “I’m going to kill my dad for this.” He muttered.

i am deeply annoyed by how blind people are to remus’ struggles because of their love for harry
1. he didn’t contact harry for 13 years, yes. but what were you expecting him to do? even ignoring his struggles with grief, being a werewolf and being poor (which is a stupid thing to do anyway), harry was protected by being with the evans family, that was the whole point of him being there in the first place. was remus supposed to steal him and put him in danger? of course he wouldn’t do that. even more, if he ‘only’ tried contacting him and not stealing him away, what was he supposed to tell him? harry had no idea what his background was, and that was how dumbledore wanted things to stay. and the years between harry starting hogwarts and poa? just think about how remus and harry meeting then would’ve complicated the story and realise why jkr wouldn’t bother with that
2. the difference between how sirius and remus treated harry. both of them saw james in harry, it was impossible not to (i was going crazy with how often everyone told this poor kid that he looked exactly like his dead dad) but they did so in different ways. sirius saw james in harry in the sense that he saw fun teenage years, joy and mischief. he tried recreating the happy times he had with james but with his son, and i’m happy that he managed to do that, obviously. however, remus saw the death of his best friends in harry. he saw 13 lonely years when he thought everyone he ever loved was dead because of one of his best friends. instead of making him happy, seeing harry just resurfaced his grief. is that healthy? of course not, but i don’t see how people can’t understand that this is also a possible effect of grief
3. now for sirius’ death: “sirius died in front of harry’s eyes and remus knew that and yet didn’t write to harry to talk to him”. sorry, let me put that into a different perspective for you: SIRIUS DIED IN FRONT OF REMUS’ EYES?!?! and he didn’t even have time to process it for a second because he had to stop harry from jumping into the veil with him. sorry for thinking that has an effect on a person ig. remus and sirius went through infinitely more things together than sirius and harry did AND sirius was literally remus’ only living friend. this man had absolutely no one else in life, he managed to lose the same best friend (*cough* lover *cough*) TWICE and his first thought was supposed to be to comfort somebody else’s grief? i understand why harry wanted that, but i also understand why remus couldn’t give him that
4. harry was 17 when remus made him the godfather to his child. OBVIOUSLY that was symbolic??? OBVIOUSLY remus wasn’t planning to die and actually leave harry with the responsibility of raising a child?? the same thing happened with james and sirius. of course james wasn’t planning on dying and leaving sirius to care for harry, so why can’t you understand that was the case here as well. it wasn’t some bad parenting tactic, remus wanted harry to feel like even a small part of sirius is still with him
5. i don’t support him wanting to leave teddy. harry rightfully got angry with him and that was a mistake on remus’ part. i do understand why he did it, i’m truly just too tired rn to get into that as well, plus i’ve already did a while ago. truly though, i hate the entire idea of his relationship with tonks, so that is not a debate i even want to get into. jkr writing the most queer coded character then forcing him into a straight relationship will forever haunt me. fuck jkr
and this is not me saying remus would have perhaps been a good parental figure for harry (i’ve seen people debating that and that’s what started this rant), but just because he couldn’t be a good parent doesn’t mean he isn’t a good person and that is a very important distinction

Week 24, part three
All in
Rated E. 5k. Jeddy
James and Teddy have sex for the first time. It's... not actually that great.
Part of Next Gen Fest 2022 by @hp-nextgen-fest
Never Have I Ever... by @jennandblitz
Rated E. 8k. Wolfstarbucks
Sirius, Remus and James are introduced to the Muggle drinking game 'Never Have I Ever', and, like these games usually do, it turns lurid very quickly...
👀🔥 loved it
The Music Room by FivePips and @jennandblitz
Rated E. 15k. Wolfstar
Sirius is assigned a new piano tutor after the passing of his former one. He’s expecting someone equally as old and boring as his last tutor, but when Mr. Lupin walks through the door, Sirius is thrown into a world of feelings he had never explored before.
Satellites by @jennandblitz ♥️
Rated E. 23k. Wolfstar
Sirius Black is the guitarist for Starsign, a band on a meteoric rise to fame. One evening in Edinburgh and he finds himself face to face with Remus Lupin, gig photographer an in almost-criminally oversized punk shirt. Perhaps things aren't meant to be at first, but the universe has its ways...
The Hot Flatmate Conundrum by @theresthesnitch
Rated E. 2k. James x Remus
Sirius is a little in love with his flatmate, James. It’s fine… until James brings his hot roommate Remus home. What is a guy supposed to do with two gorgeous men one very thin wall away?
all my cards are here by @kriskrakel ♥️
Rated T. 112k. Wolfstar
Marauders Band AU - When the Marauders kick out their bassist, they ask local bartender Remus Lupin to step in. As the band gains success, Remus must navigate his new friendship with Sirius under the public eye.
I was so happy reading this. The absolute best. Probably my favorite band au so far
I worked my way through some of @thebooktopus next gen recommendations and read:
Friday Nights at the Leaky Cauldron by @heyitsamorette
Rated E. 10k. Jeddy
When James shows up at the Leaky Cauldron looking for a job, Teddy tries to show him it’s bloody hard work running a pub. But he doesn’t expect James to be a natural at it, and he doesn’t realize James will attract all kinds of attention. And this presents a problem for Teddy; a huge problem.
Come Alive by @gracerene09
Rated E. 30k. Jeddy
Teddy already stands out enough being an orphan, a Metamorphmagus, and the son of a werewolf—nobody needs to know he's also bisexual. He's attracted to women too, so it's not a lie if he ends up married to a witch, has children, and settles down to live a perfectly normal and unremarkable life. But when he's offered the chance to experience what it's like to have strings-free sex with a man, he's powerless to resist temptation. Even if he knows there's no such thing as sex without strings when it comes to fooling around with one's best mate.
Hungry by @shiftylinguini
Rated E. 28k. Scorpius x albus
There’s a fog in the school, in the grounds and the dorms, and the darkness has eyes, but Albus can figure this out. He and Scorpius make a formidable team, and Al’s not letting anything, not even his irremovable and surely unrequited feelings for his best friend, get in the way of solving this mystery.
Chances by @theprodigypenguin
Rated E. 79k. Teddy x James and Scorpius x Albus
Teddy has lived in France with his grandmother for his entire life, living unaware of his past or the significance of his parent's lives, cut short at the end of the war. He lives blissfully ignorant of the life he was meant to have in England, until his grandmother dies shortly after his twenty-seventh birthday, and the discovery of letters written by an estranged godfather he never knew he had leads him back to his families home, searching for answers but in the end finding more than he'd ever expected or hoped.

Your character: Molly Weasley
Oooooooh now that's interesting, thank you for the Ask :D
MOLLY WEASLEY
First impression
My very very first impression of Molly was that she seemed like a very good mom, albeit an intimidating one too (especially how she appeared in the Chamber of Secrets movie and Ron and the twins immediately hid their snacks behind their backs). My first impression of her was also that this woman would be the first healthy mother figure Harry would meet, especially after growing up with Petunia, and I loved how she behaved like a mother hen towards him
Impression now
A badass Mama Bear after her duel with Bellatrix, although Molly was the last person I expected to kill Bella. Still, I now see some negative traits in her too, especially how she reacted when Sirius appeared in Goblet of Fire, or how she treated Sirius in general in Order of the Phoenix. I didn't like at all how she snapped at him and said that Harry had no one else in the world (um, hellooooo, that's Harry's literal godfather you're talking to, Molly), or said that Sirius deliberately treated Harry recklessly because Harry reminded him of James. So yeah, all of this diminished my love for this character, though again, the fact that she killed the woman who murdered Sirius redeemed her a lot in my eyes.
Favorite moment
Literally the fact that she saw red after Bellatrix threatened Ginny, leading to their duel and Molly killing her. Bellatrix is a character I hated even more than Voldemort and I literally cheered out loud when I first read it in the seventh book.
Idea for a story
Young Molly during her years in Hogwarts, how she met and fell in love with Arthur building their family, and also including her life during the First War. It would be so interesting to explore her backstory
Unpopular opinion
Not sure if it's unpopular, but I think Molly plays into the Beloved Smother trope. She cherishes her family and loves them more than anything, but this also makes her extremely overprotective and imposing, almost making her appear that she believes she's the only one who can decide for the children, like when she focused on Fred and George getting few OWLs instead of encouraging their creativity, or when she undermined and ignored Fleur when she didn't approve of her relationship with Bill.
Favorite relationship
It's a rare one and we didn't see more of it, but I loved how she treated Tonks in the sixth book, comforting her in the middle of the night and inviting her over for Christmas so she wouldn't be alone. It was really heartwarming and I'd love to see even more of it.
Favorite headcanon
She was the first one who learned of Tonks and Remus' wedding, especially after comforting Tonks for an entire year and encouraging their relationship, and because of that she also visited little Teddy too and talked to him about his parents.
Sorry if the long answer tired you, hope you'll like it 😊😊😊
Send me your character ask link here

Of Quiet Hearts and Thundering Dreams has officially reached 1000 kudos, almost on the day that it was completed. I'm overwhelmed and so so proud and happy.
Thanks to everyone who has read it, kudoed and commented.
A little snippet below the cut:
“Pa’foot!” Harry shrieks delightedly as he spots him, setting off into a run and Sirius just about manages to catch him as the boy throws himself into his arms.
“Hiya, sprog,” he laughs, feeling his chest expand as he hugs him, pressing a quick kiss to the top of his head, knowing it’s something Harry will grow out of eventually. But for the time being it’s allowed, and he spins him around before setting him back down on the ground. “Eager to get home, are we?”
“No,” Harry shakes his head, blinking up at him with bright green eyes. “I don’t want to go home.”
“Oh?” Sirius asks, ruffling his hair. “Where d’you wanna go then? Park? It’s a bit late for the beach.”
“I want to go with Teddy,” says Harry, already tugging Sirius along with him, but not towards the exit but rather back towards the school. ”Teddy has a swing and a trampoline behind his house and I think that would be so cool to try and Teddy says it’s very safe and he says he can jump super high and I think if I could just try and jump on a trampoline I’d be very good at it too but if you say I can’t then at least I can swing and you know how much I love to swing and–”
“Whoa, Haz,” Sirius laughs, holding a hand up as he pulls the boy gently to a stop. “First thing’s first: breathe, please.” He smiles fondly as Harry sucks in a breath, then, “Who’s Teddy? I don’t remember seeing that name on the list of your year.”
“He started today,” Harry says, practically jumping on the spot as he shoots his godfather an impatient look. “He started today because they just moved here and he missed the first week, and he’s all new here and he doesn’t know anyone so I said we could be friends and did I say he has a trampoline and a swing?”
“You did,” Sirius confirms, trying to keep a straight face at the boy’s obvious eagerness. “But we don’t know if it’s okay with Teddy’s parents yet.”
“Teddy’s daddy said it was,” Harry interrupts eagerly, pulling at his arm, “Come oooon, Padfoot!”
Sirius allows for Harry tug him along then, towards a boy with brown curly hair that looks about the same age as Harry albeit a bit taller, dressed in a similar burgundy school uniform. The other boy grins a little shyly at them, one of his hands fisted in the trousers of the tall man standing next to him.
“This is Teddy,” announces Harry brightly with a gesture to the boy, “and Teddy’s daddy.”
Sirius says a hello to the boy before shifting his gaze over to the man next to him. He extends a hand automatically, the polite greeting on the tip of his tongue but then he looks up and oh.

The Resurrection Stone Scene: Culmination Of Harry's Emotional Arc
Tumblr media
The series biggest themes surround death and Harry coming to terms with his parents' death is arguably his biggest emotional arc. I have argued in my meta about Harry before that he has passive death wish and morbid fascination with the dead. This is obvious in his desire for the Resurrection stone while Ron and Hermione choose other Hallows, his obsession with Mirror of Erised (to the point he feels feverish) until Dumbledore intervenes, him almost wanting to fail to learn a Patronus because he wants to hear his parents voices, the scene at the grave where he almost wishes he was "lying under the snow" with his parents and that possession scene in OOTP, where he wishes to die so he can be with Sirius. Harry has, in many moments, shown a raw desire for death - in ways that actually scares Hermione and makes Ron uncomfortable as evidenced by their reaction when he tells them why he wants the Resurrection stone.
Harry's fascination with the dead isn't surprising - this abused and neglected boy learned in PS that his parents fought to protect him. Essentially they loved him so much, they died for him and Harry feels robbed of that life, a life with parents who loved him dearly (reference his narration in HBP, where he wonders what life would have been like if Neville was the Chosen One).
Tumblr media
So accepting his parents and parental figures' deaths and choosing to return to life - a life of sorrow, pain, and trauma when he could have just gone "on" (or had "an out" as he screamed in OOTP) - is one of Harry's bigger heroic decisions. To come to a point that Harry can ask his parents' murderer to feel "remorse" in an attempt to save his soul, Harry needed to see and hear things he always wanted to hear from the people he loved.
So, the scene starts:
"You've been so brave"/ "Stay close to me"
Tumblr media
LILY: While in life, Harry knows a lot more about James than Lily, it is interesting whenever she appears in any form, Harry is looking at her the most ("I will be back" Harry says, tearing his eyes from his mother's face in PS/ and once again in DH, he couldn't stop looking at her: "his eyes feasted on her"). She is his mother, the one who loved him so much, it magically manifested as a protection that gave him 17 years of life. Her love is always there as safety blanket - so even when his father disappointed him in OOTP, he is comforted by the idea that his "mother had been decent". She is his ultimate protector and this is why he asks her : "stay close to me" while she is gently affirms, "you've been so brave". And unsurprisingly, it is this sacrifice that lives on in Voldemort that gives Harry a choice - a choice to return to the living. After spending much of the series trying to be like his father, Harry embodies his mother by invoking sacrificial magic for Hogwarts fighters. But his embodiment of his mother is not an impulsive brave decision, his walk to his death is far more intentional than hers - as the book narration says, "it's a cold blooded walk to his destruction".
"You are nearly there, very close, we are so proud of you" / "Until the very end"
Tumblr media
JAMES - his father, the man he looks like, flies like, and tries to root his identity in. Harry spends most of the books trying to live up to the ideal of his father. His Patronus is an embodiment of his father ("Prongs rode again last night"), and it is James' bravery that gives Harry comfort at the traumatic night in the graveyard and makes him want to stand up and fight Voldemort: "He was not going to crouch like a child, he was going to die upright like his father" (as Voldemort taunts him: "now you face me like a man..like your father, straight backed and proud").
James is catalyst to lot of Harry's growth. Harry making an active choice after being horrified by his father's behaviour in SWM, wondering "did he want to be like his father anymore?" is an important character moment for him. He reconciles his view of James, humanises him and thinks of him with "a rush of pride" in HBP as the man who walked into an arena to fight with head held high. So, Harry hears from the father he tried for so long to embody and then surpass in moral character - that he is proud of him and that he will be there to protect him "until the very end".
Here is a meta by u/metametatron4 that tracks Harry's feelings about his father and Snape in detail. Read it here.
"Dying? Not at all - quicker and easier than falling asleep" / "We are a part of you - invisible to everyone else"
Tumblr media
SIRIUS - While Lily and James affirm how far Harry has come, Sirius as the parental figure Harry had in life offers him words of comfort when Harry asks if dying hurts.
This comfort has an added layer, knowing Harry's often violent response to Sirius's death. His reaction to his death has been attempting Crucio on Bellatrix, trashing Dumbledore's office in OOTP, along with other stages of grief. At the end of OOTP, Harry is a mess of unfocused grief and rage - one that he will actively repress in HBP. He avoids talking about Sirius until he thinks the person he is talking to is as invested in Sirius - he brings up Sirius with Buckbeak/Witherwings or Tonks, who he mistakenly assumes is depressed about his death. The biggest indication of how much Harry is really repressing his feelings about Sirius's death is his reaction to Mundungus stealing from Grimmauld place. He lifts Mundungus with one hand, chokes him until he turns blue while threatening him with a wand. He had to be magicked off Mundungus because he, terrifyingly, showed no inclination of stopping despite Hermione screaming at him to do so.
The other time he reacts badly is Lupin's scene in DH. The first person he thinks of when he says "Parents shouldn't leave their kids" is Sirius. He sees image of Sirius falling through the veil, followed by Dumbledore. His reaction to Lupin abandoning his child is powered by the unprocessed grief and rage of the deaths he has witnessed, of parental figures robbed from him. And then, of course, his violent impulse to break Bellatrix's wand with the sword of Gryffindor once Hermione points out that the wand killed Sirius. His violent reaction to his death is due to lack of closure.
This is why it is important that Sirius tells him that dying doesn't hurt, because it would have eased Harry to know that Sirius isn't in pain. And he assures "we are a part of you" - so even though there was no body to mourn and Sirius just effectively disappeared - Sirius is still part of him.
"He'll want to be quick, he wants it over"/ "I am sorry too. I am sorry that I will never know him...but he will know why I died and I hope he will understand. I was trying to make the world in which he could live a happier life"
Tumblr media
LUPIN - Lupin, like Sirius, also offers comfort by telling him that death will be quick because Voldemort wants to finish it too. It's interesting to me that Lupin is the character that says something that arms him for the future - should he choose to have it ("I'll tell him to follow his instincts which are good and nearly always right" Lupin says earlier in the book).
Lupin is a mentor, a bridge and by DH, a warm friend - he was the one who taught Harry the Patronus charm (a gateway to connection with his father + something that protects him) and it's Harry's trust in Lupin that makes him willing to hear Sirius out at the end of POA, thereby connecting him to a very important relationship. He gives Harry tools to equip him to best live out his life. And once again, Lupin acts as a bridge to Harry's life - he tries to take away Harry's guilt from his own death and leaving behind Teddy. Knowing that Harry survives, this is important for Harry to know so he can live with himself as he takes on godfather role to Teddy.
At the end of this scene, Harry drops the stone, ready for his death. And the fact that he chooses not to go back to it without much inner struggle after the Battle of Hogwarts is a marked shift and beginning for him.

Day Nineteen: HP Rare Pair Fest 2021/2022
This is going to be a long one, so the recs are below the cut. General thoughts: wow, what an absolutely incredible selection of works (so far) this year. instead of saying it for literally every rec, just assume that a blanket statement applies: "I wish there were more fics of this pairing."
Slash:
The Cost of Survival by @vdoshu M // 11K // Barty Crouch Jr./Peter Pettigrew
🐍🐀 this was an entrancing read. I have a hard time with fics that feature Pettigrew because I don't want to sympathize with him, but there's still a person there. this totally captured that turmoil he must've felt. I'm not excusing it, but I'm saying give this fic a read, it'll make you think: "And when faced with the hopeful smile of the boy across the table from him, the boy who apparently wanted to pick his brain, who wanted to talk to him, and wasn’t just cosying up in order to get to his more popular friends, Peter found a smile of his own."
He Looked Just Like James by @storyof-eden E // 1K // Harry/Sirius
👨‍👨‍👦 :whistles: daaang folks. this is a quick, filthy read; absolutely delicious to read Sirius' comparison between Harry and James and his reluctance: "The boy wasn’t an adult, but then, Sirius and James hadn’t been either. Harry looked at Sirius like he was the one who hung the moon and the sun and the stars. James had always looked at him like that, too. Contrary to what Molly thought, Sirius was not an irresponsible godfather, and he was not under the delusion that he had his best friend back."
Aflame by @nv-md E // 4K // James Sirius Potter/Teddy Lupin
🚨 werewolf a/b/o Jeddy fic. I could go into more detail but you shouldn't honestly need any other reason that I didn't list in the first sentence. 😆: "And, Merlin help him, Teddy couldn’t do anything but give in. He’d been holding back, so scared of hurting James, but this was too much. James always smelled delicious—Teddy had nuzzled his sleeping boyfriend enough to know—but nothing, literally nothing, could have prepared Teddy for the scent rolling off James. It was the thick underbrush of a forest, the sun at high noon baking his skin, the crackling energy of an oncoming storm."
Out in the Open by @sugareey-makes-stuff E // Art // Oliver Wood/Percy Weasley
💦 krissy's talent blows me away - the texture and depth (can you tell I'm not an artist?) she achieves with her linework is simply gorgeous. and this pair? and that... well, it's filthy and I LOVE IT.
Let Me Be by @isamijoo G // 3K // Oliver Wood/Percy Weasley
💝 I think this is one of the only G-rated fics I've ever read (I'm a monster, I know). but I loved this! these two are one of my fav rare pairs, and this fic satisfied all of my fluffy needs: "However, secretly, Percy enjoyed being the centre of Oliver’s attention. Everybody knew Oliver cared little about anything other than Quidditch, so being coddled by Oliver was unexpectedly flattering and pleasant. Oliver treated Percy as though he was astronomically special."
Wormtail Gets Some Tail by @anaxandria-writes T // 1K // Peter Pettigrew/Regulus Black
🐀 you're maybe saying to yourself: "nope, not touching that with a ten-foot pole." FIGHT THIS INSTINCT. this is an amazing character study of Peter; I literally re-read read it the second I finished it: "But Peter had always known he wasn’t as charming and attractive as Sirius, nor as confident and funny as James, nor as smart and kind as Remus. No, Peter was just… Peter. And despite his friend’s advice to 'just be himself,' none of his first dates were leading to second dates."
Till Tomorrow and Til Death by @thistlecat E // 11K // Regulus Black/Remus Lupin
🖤 dark fic, amazing canon divergence plot. most of your favorite Marauders era characters, all very much in-character, just following a different story arc. definitely recommend: "'What the hell are you doing here, Regulus?' Remus asked finally, with the air of a prefect exasperated after his friend’s younger brother had been stroking his thigh all prefect’s meeting. That specific exasperation was familiar to Regulus."
The rest... 😆
Shades of Dawn by @corvuscrowned E // 2K // Ginny Weasley/Lavender Brown
🌗 I beta read this fic and loved it from the opening line. angsty, beautifully written, heartbreaking... sweet, sweet sapphic smut: "It was the danger, at first — I don’t want to hurt you, and I don’t want you to have to live like this. But Ginny slowly worked that away, peeling petals from the dying flower to reveal its lifeless center. The truth of it, which had nothing to do with Lavender and had everything to do with Ginny."
Lovingly Named by @m0srael E // 11K // Minerva McGonagall/Mrs. Norris
😻 the love story of a lifetime. this is tender and smart, a truly incredible fic, definitely one not to miss: "Ionia turns over fully to shove her face, wide-eyed, into Minerva’s—their noses and foreheads pressed so tightly together it almost hurts. Like two cats, head-butting one another in mutual affection and acknowledgement. It’s something she does when she’s afraid of Minerva’s reaction—as if the forced proximity will leave no room for anything other than the two of them, right here, right now."
Table for Two by @maeshowers E // 3K // Pansy Parkinson/Sirius Black
🌪 wowie wow wow wow. this pair is a delicious mess and work so well together. really fun plot that leads to smut that will both burn and soothe, all within 3200 words. phew: "Twenty minutes and two drinks down the drain and it’s suddenly as if she has a place in the world again."
Finding What's Missing by @sumthinclever M // 9K // Blaise Zabini/Draco Malfoy/Neville Longbottom
3️⃣ this fic is a love letter to non-monogamy, if you ask me. it's about the heart's ability to expand, that love is an infinite resource. also, these three together? come ON: "Draco jerked out of his arms and grabbed Blaise by the shoulders. 'No! I mean… Not really? I love you, Blaise. So much. I have missed you terribly and I was lost for so long and Neville was just there and I… and we…. I love him. I do. But I don’t love him more than you and I don’t love you less because I love him. And I know this is a lot and is confusing for you because your head is still in two years ago and I know you’re probably disappointed and angry with me and I –'"

Never Enough (1/7)
Sirius Black x daughter!reader
Summary: You were content with your life, living with your cousin while the whereabouts of your father, Sirius Black, and his wellbeing remained unknown after escaping . But that all changed when you had to move into 12 Grimmauld Place for the summer. The worst part of it all? He was there too. (Wow I suck at summaries)
Words: 1.7k
Warnings: angst, shitty father-daughter relationship, mentions of abandonment, tell me if there are any others
A/N: Yes, I know I changed the timeline up a bit to fit the fic. Please don’t be the asshole that points it out. I had to adjust it slightly for the plot. My heart broke writing this but it was too good an idea to pass up. I abandoned writing all my other fics for this. And all I can say to you is I’m sorry.
Series Masterlist
⭑*•̩̩͙⊱••••✩••••̩̩͙⊰•*⭑
All those years, you’ve felt lonely. The Tonks were a wonderful family, raising you as one of their own. But there was always an empty feeling, a missing spot in your life that only your father could fill. If he’d come to you after he had escaped from Azkaban with an explanation, you would’ve welcomed him into your life with open arms. Therefore, when you found out he’d escaped and had been in contact with Harry all this time, not even bothering to check up on you once and the fact that you had to go live with this said person for the rest of your summer, away from your family, you went livid. You’d trashed your room; lamps broken, chairs and desks overturned, all your books had caught fire from not being able to keep your emotions, hence magic, in check.
But Aunt Dro and Dora had reassured you that it’d be fine, Dora even promised to stop by every day to check up on you without fail.
“It’s for your safety,” Uncle Teddy had said as they dropped you off.
You loved him, of course you did, he was your father. Though you had no fond memories of him, he seemed like the person you would get along greatly with. You’d heard a lot about his days at Hogwarts from your aunt. You were very much like him; just as reckless, having a knack for pranks (though people usually took it as a form of bullying or you being mean only because you were a Slytherin, even if your pranks were not as bad as those executed by the Weasley twins), and just as hot-tempered if not more. That’s why everyone should’ve this coming. It had started off as a normal day, waking up and having breakfast before getting to cleaning the grim place you were currently living in. All the house’s occupants were in one of the unkept rooms, getting rid of objects, which you thought had to be filled with dark magic.
You didn’t know when it happened; when the argument broke out. Ginny and Hermione were only asking you about your life all these years with the Tonks. Everyone should’ve seen it coming but no one had any inkling that it would escalate to this.
“You left me! You left to get revenge, without thinking for a second what would happen to me. And you came back for revenge, to protect your godson. That was enough motivation for you to leave that prison after 13 years, the rat’s picture and his safety. I wasn’t a good enough excuse to have escaped years ago, the thought of me, alone, wasn’t enough for you. I was never enough, was I!?”
Your words echoed through the silence of the house, everyone still, dumbfounded. Not even the portrait of your grandmother made a sound. The impact of your words far too great.
You knew he had escaped, but you never met. Not until this summer when you were forced to move into your ancestors’ house. He hadn’t come looking for you back in your 3rd year - he had come looking for him. The boy with the lightning scar marking his forehead from the night you lost your chance at having a life with your father. The boy who wasn’t here, for his own protection. The boy everyone seemed to drop everything for and for some that included their own daughter.
You don’t know when the argument had broken out and escalated this far, no one saw it coming. The previous playful atmosphere that hung in the air disappeared, replaced by an ambience that reeked of agony and anguish.
You, a Slytherin, a disappointment in his eyes. But truly, he was the disappointment. He left you all alone in this horrid world with no one.
“You had Remus.”
“Right,” you scoffed folding your arms across your chest, “I had a godfather who decided he couldn’t take care of me and abandoned me, not even bothering to keep in contact.”
Remus visibly flinched at the pure venom directed towards him through your words.
“That’s not my fault. I wasn’t here, what could I have done?” Sirius spoke back frustrated, throwing his hand up in the air.
“That’s the thing, you weren’t there. But it’s always James and Harry isn’t it? Harry and James,” you said defeatedly. Your shoulders slumped down as you looked down to the ground, trying to hide your tears from the rest who were staring at you, astonished but with pity. You quickly spun around on your heel and walked away, heading towards your room in this dark, repulsive house, a house that in another life you would’ve called your home.
And no one came after you.

That was two weeks ago, and things hadn’t gotten any better. You would stay in your room when you weren’t helping Mrs. Weasley out with the cleaning. You’d sit with everyone for meals, but a tense air would surround you every time you were in the same room as your father. He hadn’t made any move towards reconciling with you, towards having a relationship with his only child. After all that you’d said that day, you really thought he would. But you were left disappointed once again.
Just when you’d thought things couldn’t get worse, Harry had arrived a few days ago. You didn’t have anything against the boy, but watching your father dote over him every second of every day hurt you more than you cared to admit.
It was currently dinner time. You were sitting next to Dora who was changing her face to sport a pig’s snout upon Ginny’s request. You found it funny, you did, but you had no energy to laugh or even muster up a smile. You felt drained. The past few days made you feel like you were suffocating in this dreadful place. Your throat felt like it was constantly constricted, refusing to let air fill up your lungs, refusing to let you breathe and let go of the heavy weight that seemed to have made its home on your chest.
“You know, I thought the first thing you’d when you got here was ask about Voldemort.”
Your father’s conversation with Harry suddenly piqued your interest. The name caused a chill to run down through everyone’s spine.
“I did!” exclaimed Harry, “but everyone said we’re not allowed in the Order. That we’re too young.”
“You are too young,” reprimanded Mrs. Weasley.
“He’s been trapped in that Muggle house for over a month! He has the right to receive answers about his questions.”
That brought about an uproar from the rest of the kids.
“Harry’s not even of age!”
“Why does he get his questions answered!?”
~“That is up to your parents.”~
“But we’re of age!”
“Harry will tell me and Hermione everything anyway!”
You stayed silent through it all knowing anything you said wouldn’t change the minds of the adults in the room. There was nothing that you could contribute that would work in your favour.
After a row between Sirius and Mrs. Weasley (in which some out-of-line things were mentioned), it was finally decided that Ron, Hermione, Fred and George would stay as Harry got to know what had been happening. Ginny, on the other hand, was to go upstairs. Though she did not go without a fight - blazing and fuming, she reluctantly made her way to her room.
“Y/N, you too. Go upstairs,” said Remus.
“I’m not going anywhere. If they can stay so can I,” you said, looking up from your uneaten dessert.
Sirius looked away from Harry towards you, appearing to just realize you were in the room as well.
“Moony’s right. Go upstairs, Y/N,” he told you.
You stayed in your seat, going back to picking at your unappetizing dessert. Your silence and staying put began to tick Sirius off.
“Y/N, I told you something,” said Sirius, trying to keep his temper in check.
“I know, I heard you.”
The silence carried on. You stayed planted on your seat, refusing to move an inch.
“Y/N Black, you are still underage, and I am your father. So upstairs, now.”
You huffed, slamming your fork down on the table as you stood up abruptly. The chair scraped back and fell onto the floor from your sudden action.
“Fine,” you said through your gritted teeth, looking directly into your father’s eyes; eyes so alike yours. Sirius felt like he had actually been scorched by the fire burning in your eyes, contradicting the sickly-sweet smile you shot at him before storming out of the room, slamming the door shut behind you.
You made your way towards the room that was temporarily yours; one that could’ve been your room if only… You shook your head trying not to dwell on such thoughts.
You were done.
Your trunk slammed against the stairs as you dragged it down, waking up Walburga Black’s portrait, screaming at everyone:
“Half-breeds, mudbloods, and blood-traitors in my house! If I was alive-,” you tuned her shouts out.
“Y/N, dear. What are you doing?”
“What I should have done a while ago,” you replied, looking up to see Mrs. Weasley, who had just escorted Ginny up to her room, peering over the banister.
You walked towards the front door through the unlit hallway, a migraine forming from the shrieks of your biological grandmother and the screeching of your trunk dragging across the floor.
You opened the door, stepping out into the summer night. The quiet took over as soon as you shut the door behind you. Your throat finally let up and expanded as you breathed in the cool summer night air, allowing your lungs to fill with large volumes of air; air that you had been gasping for the past few weeks. The heavy weight on your chest dissipated, making you feel lighter than you had ever felt; as if you could walk on clouds.
A loud ‘pop’ sounded through the empty street a few seconds after you’d raised your wand out in front of you.
You climbed onto the bus, not once looking back at the house that no one around could see, except you.
Not even when you heard a voice call out into the empty street as you disappeared along with the Knight Bus with a ‘pop’.
“Y/N!”
