-had a main cast of five, wiggly the biggest brother and 'leader,' sometimes reffered to as a lord or king, a pink one (i don't recall the name..) who ate things, tinky who had a cube of some kind(??) and knew things about tech and science and stuff, blinky, and pokey who did a majority of the musical segments. they were brothers

-learned life lessons and occasionally hosted educational segments throughout the show

-had little bird guys called sniggles that were their friends or something. one called snigglette was the butt of jokes a lot of the time

Enid is absolutely a Disney adult and will drag Wednesday down to the parks every chance she gets. She takes photos with every princess she possibly can and is a veritable almanac of knowledge on each park they visit.

Trouble is, Wednesday is, well... Wednesday.

She rolls her eyes at every overly-cheerful worker, shoots death glares at anyone who dares to exceed 70 decibels in her presence, and lately has taken to educating small children about the true gruesome nature of their favorite white-washed fairy tales.

After nearly getting kicked out for a combination of these things, Enid needed to come up with a solution. There would be no 'fixing' Wednesday's sullen disposition, but she could redirect it.

Enid keeps her occupied in line with complex puzzles, her favorite is a Rubik's Cube in the shape of a dodecahedron.

She makes sure to have ice water handy whenever Wednesday gets too hot, as well as her favorite licorice candy.

They frequently take refuge in an unpopulated corner when Wednesday gets too agitated by other people, allowing her to recharge and listen to music. Enid draws patterns on her arm and just generally provides a comforting presence.

Enid lets Wednesday info dump about deaths on certain rides and/or the true nature of the fairytales depicted around the park as long as she does so quietly.

When coming or going, they wait specifically for the lime monorail because "everyone knows that's the best one". Enid doesn't argue.

After an incident-free day at EPCOT:

Enid, holding Wednesday close: If I didn't know any better, I'd say you enjoyed yourself today.

Wednesday: The educational aspects of this overpriced joy-farm are preferable to the mind numbing stupor the other parks aim to trap you in.

Enid, snickering: Admit it. You had fun.

Wednesday, scowling: ...I must concede that today's activities were not as loathsome as I might have guessed.

Enid, smiling brightly: I had fun too.

Portal 12 Days of Christmas Prompt List

What's this? Portal Christmas prompts? Sort of. Taking inspiration from the time of year, the celebrations, and the song itself, I'd like to present to you the Portal 12 Days of Christmas prompt list!

I did a lot of research to find prompts in four categories: prompts inspired by the song itself, prompts inspired by the various feasts and celebrations, prompts inspired by the more mundane aspects of the holiday, and of course Portal-specific prompts inspired by the first three in various ways.

While the actual 12 days of Christmas start at the end of the month, that time of year is far too busy for this sort of thing so I felt it would be better to post it earlier in the month to give people ample time to participate if they so choose.

Testing doesn't stop, even during the holidays, so let's bring some Aperture-themed cheer!

This review from 1987 is too funny and I love that he calls Valjean the student’s uncle but also, it’s too optimistic about American politics lol. 

Save your McGovern buttons, folks; liberalism shall rise again. And soon. You can feel it. It's not merely that the air is going out of Ronald Reagan's balloon, it's that the times they are achangin'. Many liberals these days don't even bother with a secret handshake when greeting each other. Others have taken to openly advocating such controversial liberal ideas as public education, clean water and help for the homeless. You think I'm rushing it, don't you? Well, perhaps, but you'll have to forgive me. I've just seen "Les Miserables." 

Perhaps you haven't heard about it yet? You will. "Les Miz," as we on the fast track call it, is the latest stage phenomenon to hit this country. It is a grandiose musical  — really more of an opera —  based on Victor Hugo's novel. Like the last such phenomenon, "Nicholas Nickleby," it comes from London, and like "NickNick" (fast track again), it is going to be a smash hit. It is a genuine, hand-tooled, gold-leafed, can't-miss, must-see show. 

Overlooked in the hoopla of a hit, however, is the fact that it, again like "Nickleby," is a liberal show. Its story is the triumph of bleeding heart liberalism over hard-hearted conservatism. And people are going crazy for it. 

"Rambo" is out; "Les Miz" and "Nick-Nick" are in. 

"Les Miz" is the story of a poor Frenchman during Napoleanic [sic] times who steals a loaf of bread to feed his sister's starving child (which is, basically, the only reason liberals ever steal). He is caught and given 19 years in prison. Released from jail, Valjean is unable to get work because of his prison record, so he breaks parole and assumes a new identity. He is a great success in business and becomes mayor of a small town. 

Valjean is pursued through the years by a cop, Javert, who wears black clothes and smiles only when he steps on a butterfly. 

Javert keeps rediscovering Valjean and trying to arrest him, but the ex-con is too smart for him; he keeps slipping away. In the meantime, Valjean helps any widows and orphans he finds in his path. He is a sweetheart of a guy.

But does this cut any ice with Javert? Not a cube. He's determined that Valjean pay the price for breaking parole. He reminds one of Chief Justice William Rehnquist, actually. (If Valjean had been arrested for income tax evasion instead of stealing bread, they'd have probably let him off with a warning.) 

Finally, or almost finally, Javert is captured by idealistic rebels during a student uprising and is delivered into the hands of Valjean, who is being a sort of uncle to the students. Javert, naturally, expects to be shot. Instead, Valjean does the liberal thing; he lets him go. Javert later has a chance to return the favor and does, but he feels so unhappy at having violated the conservative code of honor by helping a liberal that he commits suicide.

Anvway, it all ends happily. Valiean dies, but he goes to heaven, where all good liberals go. Javert is conspicuous by his absence.

It is a great snow, the night I saw it at the Kennedy Center, Washington's liberals clapped so hard I thought their jewelry was going to fly off. 

The production is a return to the drama of the late 19th and early 20th century, before movies, when one of the things you went to the theater for was spectacle, crowd scenes, chariot races, waterfalls. The effects in "Les Miz" are magnificent. A pitched street battle with students and troops is reproduced on stage, then within moments we are in a Paris sewer with the escaping Valjean. The next minute we stay with Javert as he jumps from a bridge and plunges to his death.

As I said, it’s a great show and a harbinger of things to come. You still don't believe me? Listen: in his current film, Sylvester Stallone plays an arm-wrestler. Conservatism is being downsized. In his next film he'll probably play a social worker.

whew, name a more iconic and sex-positive opening line of a hip-hop song released in 1998 - during the genre’s golden era? well, maybe i am being hyperbolic, but almost every lyric in “jimmy” by the pioneering new york hip-hop group boogie down productions is a foundational text.

music enthusiasts, critics, and historians all agree that the late 1980s was a golden era for hip-hop. artists like public enemy, NWA, eric b. & rakim, and boogie down productions (BDP) were all reshaping the genre’s landscape by utilizing powerful storytelling for social commentary and activism.

composed initially of KRS-one, d nice, and scott la rock, BDP emerged in 1987 with their explosive and critically acclaimed debut album “criminal minded.” the impact of BDP’s hard-hitting style of rap narrated the realities of life in the bronx during the ronald reagan era was immediate. sadly, BDP was dealt a devastating blow in august 1987 when member scott la rock was murdered, just months after the release of the album. he was 25 years old.

by the release of BDP’s sophomore album “by all means necessary” in april 1988, the group’s music had transitioned towards a more socially conscious and political commentary. inspired by Black revolutionary malcolm x’s philosophy of self-determination and empowerment, the album tackled topics ranging from racism, poverty, education, health, and the AIDS crisis.

boogie down productions’ “jimmy” is a pivotal moment in hip-hop history, demonstrating the genre’s capacity to engage with pressing societal issues. through their innovative approach to music and social commentary, BDP set the tone for artists like bell biv devoe, ice cube, salt n pepa, and TLC to use their platform for advocacy and/or safer sex education.

Thunder’s mother was very strict with his upbringing and very much a homophobic which had lead Thunder to keeping it a secret that, if in future, he was pansexual.

He also oftentimes didn’t understand his mother’s accent or why she wanted him to learn Slavic languages but he went understood the best he could have done.

Ever since being forced to put Loona up for adoption as a pup, Thunder had cut all contact with Anfisa and taken his father’s surname, despite not being a “good influence”

Moona was Thunder’s first one night stand as he had begun to dabble around with his sexuality. But unfortunately he was more reckless than careful and soon enough impregnated her by accident.

Loona Buckzo / Howler:

Thunder has never met his daughter and when he had briefly, as a pup, Anfisa had stomped on it and told him to put her through an orphanage (preparing her storyline with Blitz 😈) and that no son of hers will be a father to a “bastard” child out of wedlock

His goal is make it up to Loona for “abandoning” her and putting her in the Hellhound Adoption Centre as a puppy and wants to rekindle their estranged father/daughter relationship

Stolas of the Ars Goetia:

The relationship became complicated whilst they were both “rebounding” (on the owl’s part 😂) from their previous relationships. Thunder first met Stolas in a gardening store to pick up some supplies for his flower shop.

Stolas had told Thunder that the didn’t want anything more than causal sex because he was still hurting from his “relationship” which both parties were in agreement.

Over time as Thunder and Stolas grew closer and closer to one another they eventually developed into a natural relationship (after many arguments, hurt feelings, and growth, and some respective therapy sessions)

Blitz Buckzo:

Thunder had NEVER liked Blitz. Not on— okay, maybe for a while he had, but that had been before finding out about his personality and type of person he was.

He also hadn’t liked the way Stolas would speak of him highly and even announced that he sometimes missed their situationship affair.

She trained for less than two years before she was introduced as a member of SM Entertainment's pre-debut trainees team SM Rookies on March 14, 2014

As part of SM Rookies, Wendy released the song "Because I Love You" for the soundtrack of the Mnet drama Mimi, which was one of the soundtracks of the Mnet drama series, Mimi, which labelmate Changmin starred in, appearing in the music video as well. A clip of Wendy singing a cover of Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" was released on SM Entertainment's official YouTube channel.

2014–2019: Debut with Red Velvet, stage accident

In late-July 2014, Wendy was assigned to represent the color blue and chosen to be the main vocalist of Red Velvet, which debuted on August 1, 2014 with the single "Happiness".

Wendy collaborated with rapper Yuk Ji-dam for the song "Return", one of the OSTs of KBS2's drama Who Are You: School 2015. The song was released on June 8, 2015 and debuted at #31 on the Gaon Singles Chart. She released another song "Let You Know" for the soundtrack of the JTBC drama D-Day on October 16. On January 9, 2016, she became a panelist on We Got Married. On King of Mask Singer (episode 43 aired on January 24, 2016), she participated as a contestant with the stage name "Space Beauty Maetel". Personally I’m not the best with any producing history in kpop and I don’t follow any groups prior to 2018. But soyeon is recognized as a groundbreaking producer. She fought tooth and nail for every song since debut. She has mentioned how difficult it was specifically because she was a woman as she started to show interest in it. She has earned her fame and rights to brag. And whenever I see Yuqi and Minnie talking about producing they just sound so proud of it? That they can do it (both in terms of being able to make music and having earned the opportunity / right to do so). I don’t see any issue with them being vocal about how proud they are. I’m not sure I’m getting my point across because I’m not sure I even understand what you mean by nuanced? She was her 3rd grade art teacher and she was the only one who let Wendy have her own corner in the studio during after hours to work on anything she wanted, so she could sing without bothering the other students. Such a kind gesture meant the world to Wendy. Miraculously enough, after a few years of convincing on Wendy's part, her father met, fell in love, and married that beautiful teacher. Having a stepmom that she idolized changed everything. Wendy discovered her power after her middle school bully tried to embarrass her in front of the whole school cafeteria. Suddenly the plants were breaking through the glass windows and tangling their vines around their legs, chaining them to the walls and nearly suffocating them. Of course, she was expelled at her father's request, and it was finally time to tell her where she came from. It gutted her that it made her feel like less than her stepmother's daughter, knowing that her mother was this entity that she couldn't even see or believe. It took years for her to accept that this was her life now, as a demigod she would have to relinquish half her life and trade it in for something entirely new. the TARDIS is the only workstation of the Gallifrey radio company after a massive disaster (including notable losses and blowed up buildings) initially, the doctor worked on a completely different project and almost forgot about his internship inTARDIS, but because of the disaster, he returns and is given almost absolute creative freedom which allows him to drastically change the station’s schedule half an hour before the broadcast, chat about anything of interest and somehow get access to news and songs that should be released at least half a day later jack, thanks to a murky past and an education suited for running and fixing things like components of the TARDIS, becomes a purveyor of on-air prep, fresh gossip and credible commentary rose thought the building abandoned, but after a brief explanation and assurance that no, this is not a drug den, she joined the TARDIS has an entire floor dedicated to the studio, with no rooms other than for recording and equipment, where the jack regularly fumbles and delights in somehow one hundred percent working ancient exhibits somewhere in all the rubbish, jack finds a gramophone and becomes delighted with the fact that someone else keeps such junk. rose and doctor dance to the music from it, once the gramaphone is repaired. after a tense scene, when jack is recalled to cardiff for a showdown (which took place, among other things, because of the doctor), the doctor changes the lock and when jack returns a couple of years later, his key does not fit, and neither music nor voices echo from inside he, of course, like any reasonable person, picks the lock and waits for the doctor for a year - becoming the host of another radio station, TORCHWOOD, because of course doctor took the spirit of the TARDIS with himself. i don’t know what to do with the timline, but i really want jack to be in a war for those two years, maybe taking place not in cardiff bonus if the doctor has experience as a war survivor (you can hear me sigh in ukrainian) bonus 2.0 if doctor and jack fight and then bond because of it bonus 3.0 if the doctor was helped survive the war by working in gallifrey and when the company collapses before his eyes and possibly because of him, it fucking hurts in short, i want the doctor to fuck up and get fucked up because of this, to fuck up jack. yet jack continues to cling to him until the Confrontation happenes and carefully, dancing on broken glass, they try to coordinate in a new cracked relationship without rose, because that rose is no more and they both mourned.  still, when music from an old gramaphone plays like on that very evening, they dance to the quiet rumbling of mechanisms, to soft sighs and unspoken lyrics, they dance and something shatters between them, letting them breath

while illiterate shes actually pretty good at math…she’s actually interested in history but her knowledge is very sparse and unclear due to previously stated illiteracy/lack of education

I’m blogging...OUTSIDE. The weather here has been bearable, even though snow is scheduled for Tuesday. I’m sitting in this chair outside the Honors College that has “fuck you” faintly carved into one of the armrests. There’s a name also craved underneath, but it’s too hard to make out. An extremely yellow leaf just blew off the tree a few feet away from me and smacked me in the face. It’s quite a rainbow looking at all the nature around here. They don’t call it Tree City for no reason, unless they decide to make everything Esplanade flat and perfectly mowed and boring.

Taylor Hall is a glance away. I was sitting on Blanket Hill facing the old victory bell a few minutes ago, but I couldn’t concentrate on blogging just sitting on the ground. Quite a few people have been walking by looking at the unfinished memorial and the May 4 informational signs today. It’s pretty much always older people, no matter which side of Taylor you’re facing.

I think about that a lot, and the more I see how this campus functions, the more I feel that urge to enact some change. Things feel frozen in time here, and to be frank, it’s not in a good way. The weather might be okay for a cardigan, but I feel like too many people here are frozen in ice cube trays of apathy and acceptance. When people are encouraged to take action, they rarely do. On a general level, depending on the world view of whoever you’re asking, the only way to make change is to either vote for someone who doesn’t truly represent you or risk your life marching in the street and relying on buzzwords. They rarely tell you that there’s room for sneaky introverts in that process. And that sneaky, introverted work, the subversive work, the work that fits my style the most, is often the hardest.

Hell, half of the time the people who are rallying the most for change seem dismissive of the prospect of change actually occurring. There’s an exhibition of letterpress prints in Taylor right now, and some of them are truly amazing. There’s something so satisfying about a good letterpress design, with the jumbled remixed letters and strong colors. There’s just nothing better. But when I was walking through the exhibit the other day, one of the posters on display, frankly, made me angry. It was very post-Roe hopeless. All the text was about how women have the “freedom” to die of an ectopic pregnancy and be incubators and the like, topped off by the declaration, “so much freedom!” Like I’m going to let anyone tell me what I can do with my body. You make change by just not letting people do nefarious things to you. Or, alternatively, you make it by letting yourself do the things that you know are the best, even if they are unpopular. Both of these types of defiance can be very hard, especially the last one, and neither get you many political brownie points. You get those points by beginning and ending at complaining. That changes nothing. Speaking, writing, creating art and music, holding events, educating others, proving other people wrong is how you change things. You have to show that you own them when they try to own you.

With this in mind, no matter how hard it is to accomplish, I’m really hoping to skew the ratio.
