“Ooh, let's open up my mystery box. I’ve been needing a night for it!” You're already scrambling up from your spot, running towards his dorm to grab the gift buried in your bag. Blaise sighs, leaning back against the couch, pinching the bridge of his nose. Not that he didn’t love you and your antics, but you had a knack for buying random things. The outcomes often end in disaster, leaving Blaise to tidy up the mess.
The pair of you had been chatting away, keeping one another company in the dimly lit Slytherin common room. The area left unoccupied, the two of you still up at an unreasonable hour, with just the sounds of fire crackling, the whistles of wind blowing on the paned glass. It wasn’t an unusual sight to be up so late. Blaise was one of your closest friends and you spent most of your time talking his head off into the early hours.
The perplexity of how your friendship worked, often questioned by outsiders, the constant sighing that followed you as Blaise tolerated your ridiculous exultant optimism and friendliness. He was used to it by now, and even his other friends admired the way he could remain patient, having a calm composure. You two were good for each other. The combination of your bubbly energy and his serene demeanor worked together like the lulling of the lake, putting a grindylow to sleep.
He leans forward, resting his hands on his knees as you return carrying a mundane looking box. Despite thinking about the aftermath of what was to come, his curiosity peaked, watching as you sat yourself on the floor across from him. He sat in silence as you unravelled the packaging to reveal plain old Wizard's chess, a disappointed frown appearing on your face. Chuckling with his brows raised, he coughs a smirk, “Oh boy Wizards' chess, that’s damn mysterious.”
Your eyes meet his, a deep frown moulding on your face as he teased you, “Oh, come on, was I just bamboozled? Scammed!”
Your expression makes him laugh before he rolls his eyes at your reaction. Dragging the box closer for inspection, he scoots to the edge of his seat. “Seems it, Sunshine.” He gives you a soft smile, trying to lift your mood, “Let’s play, anyway. I won't go too hard on you this time.” His smile broadens cheekily, remembering the fit you threw when you lost last time.
You roll your eyes but nod in agreement, taking the game out of the box to set up. As you unpack the game, you note everything is displayed exactly like normal Wizards' chess, making your frown deepen. You try to disguise your extended disappointment, not wanting Blaise to lecture you about knowing better than buying mystery gifts.
“Let me start.” You spin the board to have the white checkerboard closest to you. Looking over at him, you watch his brows raise at your attitude, stifling a giggle, you counteract by giving him your cutest grin, adding, “Please?”
He sighs, amused but in defeat, rolling his eyes and giving you a playful nod. “Sure sunshine, take all the extra help you need.”
The game begins as usual, with white going first. You take your first course of action and then lean your arms on the coffee table, attempting to throw Blaise off with your oh-so menacing stare. Strategy was one of his strengths, and he had worked up a rather good one thanks to how often he challenged Draco at Wizard’s chess. Applied with his overall exponential intelligence made versing him an often difficult battle for you.
You, on the other hand, had always struggled to apply any sort of strategic logic towards games, finding yourself distracted or bored. Though Blaise used this to his advantage, he found it a little boring whenever he challenged you. Not to mention the fit you threw when you lost, despite not paying attention, leaving you sulking while Blaise adds another win to his belt.
But tonight, as the clock struck 2 am, determination pushed you to actually pay attention to Blaise's moves. Holding your stare, your eyes following his move, still awaiting in anticipation for the game to surprise you and reveal its true secret.
It was at the move of Blaise’s knight that your eyes widened, taking in the sight unfolding. The knight shifted to the area Blaise had commanded it to before it stood on the horse, bending down to throw its shoes off as they levitated up in the air. The miniature pair of boots spun above the knight, glowing as the figurine turned to look at you. A whirlwind of emotions hits you, primarily a contrast of amusement and shock, as you look up at Blaise, brows raised. His dark brown eyes met yours, his own veil of surprise shadowing his expression as he cocks an eyebrow at you. “Where’d you say you got this from again?” At his question, heat rises to your cheeks, the realisation hitting you hard. You should have seen it coming with who the inventors of the game were. Smiling sheepishly, “Oh the Weasley's.” The little knight crosses their arms and “hmph” looking up at you, making you blush. “Oh, right, sorry." Peering at Blaise, your tone holds uncertainty. “Guess we have to abide to keep playing.”
Blaise’s expression doesn’t change as he takes in the new information, running his tongue along the underside of his teeth pondering what to do. This was a clear opportunity to push your relationship to something more, something he’d been waiting for. A challenging smirk curves onto his face, his eyes holding a glimmer of mischief as he nods his head towards you, “Go on Sunshine. We’re not quitting now. Can’t have you being a sore loser this early on.”
The crackle of fire pops in the distance, sparks igniting as the flames roared, spreading warmth into the cold common room. Rolling your eyes at his remark, discarding your shoes, a daring awareness seeping into your mind. To continue the game would mean to cross the line of your friendship. Your turn awaits and hesitation halts you, taking in how unfazed Blaise looks, making you question if you are overthinking it all. It’s just a playful game between friends. It's not like you hadn’t seen him in his underwear before.
Directing your bishop to its next position, memories blur your mind of Blaise in his underwear, a red hue spreading across your cheeks. Though the possibility of seeing him like that again awakens something you thought you’d buried long ago. Months' worth of emotions, a surge of strong feelings, bubble up, exploding a flood of heat within you. You rearrange your sitting position in an attempt to subtly squeeze your legs together, watching as Blaise makes his counter move.
The game progresses and while your attention is immersive on Blaise’s plays, that doesn’t seem to have helped with more of your own clothes having been removed. You couldn’t help feeling like a sore loser already, the latest piece of your attire being ridden as Blaise’s queen takes your rook. Your patience and vulnerability unraveling as you sit in just your lingerie.
Your frustration grew, noting Blaise’s unbudged expression, not revealing any hints of what he was thinking. He’d always been exceptionally good at concealing his true emotions, a trait Theo and him shared.
While you had seen Blaise in his undergarments, he’d never seen you so exposed before. His jaw clenches as his eyes assimilate the curves of your body, the softness of your skin under the warmth and glow of the fire. The flush of your rosy cheeks, and the lulling of your gentle breaths making your chest rise and fall.
Feeling his blood flow down pumping agonising as his trousers tighten. He struggled to keep his mind focused on the game, his mind wandering, distracted by thoughts of you. Though he kept his composure for your sake, you were his friend, and he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.
The snapping of your fingers breaks his attention and he clears his throat, turning his attention to study the board. His eyes are drawn to the now glowing miniature of your knight waving his little pants in the air, awaiting Blaise’s compliance. Blaise’s brows raise, a small smile appearing, feeling impressed by your sudden attack at seizing his bishop. “Atta girl, well played sunshine.”
His eyes flicker between yours, studying your behaviour towards the revelation, noting your flushed cheeks. He then stands, seeming untroubled, yanking down his trousers in a swift motion. His eyes locked on you, giving you a cheeky smile, waiting for a response as he took his initial seating position. His legs stretch out, spreading wide while his expression remains easy going, his arms crossing pondering his next step.
The exposure of his burly thighs and curves of his muscles flexing as he readjusted himself halts your delirious reaction to his praise. Ogling at them, you bite your cheek, unable to stop obscene images being created in your mind. How it would feel to place your now soaking core against the hardness of his defined muscles, grinding your sweet cunt against them. Trying to camouflage your intense heat, you lower your gaze back down to the game, trying to distract yourself from drooling over the mental image of riding on them.
You had always looked from a respectful distance, avoiding giving away any obvious feelings. But now, under his piercing gaze, you wanted nothing more than to climb up on them and use him. All ounces of your self control were being tested, your view aligning too perfectly with his crotch allowing you to detect the outline of his thick cock secured tightly in his boxers.
What little focus you had before vanished, the air becoming thicker with anticipation, his dark eyes watching you like a hawk. His face, though displayed by a guarded mask, the disguise of a cheeky gleam lay in his eyes, seeming to read every thought you formed.
The light tapping of your fingers on the table echoes in the room, your cheeks stinging from the harshness of your teeth chewing against them. breath hitching, waiting for him to progress. His queen sat parallel from yours, his next move would claim it as his. Your breath hitched at the growing defeat, either way something of yours was coming off next.
A piece of fabric that held the contents of your friendship would be stripped away, leaving you vulnerable. Blaise could sense your apprehension and hoped that feelings of excitement were laying underneath it as he made his next move. Softened eyes meet yours, his hand raising, beckoning you over, “Come here, Sunshine.”
A breath is released at his words, surprised shadowing over your face. His tone holds both comfort and power, making you rise feeling drawn by his magnetic pull. Walking over to him, slowly stopping in front of his legs, your knees brush against his.
He takes a risky move, trailing his fingertips gently up your bare thighs, softly testing for your reaction. The sigh of released tension from you satisfies him as he pats his lap, encouraging you to come closer. You didn’t think your cheeks would ever stop blushing as you followed his silent command straddling his lap.
The giddiness of actually sitting in Blaise’s lap made your heart leap, his hands caressing your face gently. His eyes lock on yours, searching for an answer, needing to know if you were truly okay with this. “You good sunshine?” His voice, low and sweet flowing, sent a blazing sensation down your body.
Your legs instinctively wiggle as your core clenches. Nodding, you bite at your lip, unsure your voice held any firmness to speak. The slight buck of your hips, rubbing the wet material of your panties against his thigh, had a lascivious grin spreading across Blaise’s face.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” Cold metal brushes across your skin, his hands trailing further down your body. “You trust me, right? You know I always take good care of you.”
Rapidly nodding, your back arches, soft movements glide across your back, his fingertips rubbing light circles. Pressing down further into his thigh, a breathless moan escapes you. He smiles again, amused, “I’m going to need some words sunshine. Before you start becoming impatient.” His hands hold your hips firmly, stalling you from grinding your cunt onto him.
“Yes, I trust you. I always do.” You peer up at him dazed with excitement now. Was this really happening? Sitting on top of your best friend’s lap, both undressed down to your underwear, the air thick with sexual tension. “Are you sure you want this B?” A feeling of apprehension washes over you at the mere thought of him changing his mind. A low honey dripping chuckle ruptures from him, and his hands squeeze your face with kindness. “You love to doubt my decisions, don’t you? I always keep my word sunshine.” Caressing your jaw softly, he leans his head closer. “I want this, I want you.”
His lips press gently against yours, capturing the quiet gasp you make. His lips, soft and luscious, move rhythmically with yours, fingers tangling, threading into your hair. Your nerves melt away completely, leaning closer and wrapping your hands around his neck.
Blaise notices your eagerness and takes the lead, slipping his tongue in, the kiss building in pleasure. Burst of passion flows, stripping away the clear unresolved tension that had been creeping between the two of you. Your breathless moans harmonise with one another as the kiss grows messier. His hands roam, exploring eagerly to uncover new wonders your body provides.
Hands grope across the surface of your ass, squeezing, kneading, as your body rolls, grinding down on his thighs, a slight moan at the feel of his muscles flexing under your core. Digging your hands into his broad shoulders, fingernail marks denting his shirt, your hips rock back and forth, riding the wave of pleasure that stimulates your clit.
“Little desperate thing, aren’t ya baby.” Your eyes widen, taken aback by his degrading words, biting your lip, struggling to contain another rising moan. Blaise grins, flexing his leg more, watching the way you mew clutching onto his shoulders. “Caught you drooling from across the table, so pathetic.” The sudden movements of his leg bouncing catch you off guard, the vibrations ricocheting, sending pressure straight to your clit. A sharp whine is ripped from you, echoing, bouncing around the hollow room, your head falling into the crook of his neck as you shamelessly rock harder.
“Atta girl, gonna fuck yourself on my thigh?” Blaise whispers small praises in your ear, his hold shifting to grab your hips, helping guide you towards your first orgasm. Desperation drips off your tongue, whines and whimpers spilling from you, his thighs continually clench repeatedly creating the much needed friction on your clit.
A dampened puddle soaks through your panties, drenching his thigh, the wetness spreading around your throbbing core, adding to the jolts of bliss applied to your clit. “Making such a mess, sweetheart, just couldn’t help yourself.”
Arching your back, throwing your head back. With the tug of your chin, your head is swiftly pulled in another direction, lips colliding, smashing hungrily into Blaise’s. His desperation to drive you over the edge fueling his energy, his tongue slipping into your mouth, hands pressing your body down harder against him.
You whine, the sensations driving you wild while you cling to him, your body rocking faster and harder, chasing the pleasure building, as your orgasm flows through you. “Gonna cum baby? I want you soakin my thigh properly.” His words hit you hard, sending a rush of heat straight to your aching core. Your muscles convulse, the intense sensation of your orgasm washing over you. Pulling away, your head tilts back as you come, squeezing your thighs around his calloused legs, riding through your high.
Blaise watches you fall apart, admiring the flushness of red adorning your cheeks, his hands tending to your hips. Swiftly his hands envelop you, lifting, peeling your soaked body off his thigh and laying you down on the couch.
The chillness of leather clings onto your body while you catch your breath, relishing in the rush of oxygen filling your chest. Glows of fire flicker upon his skin, displaying his captivating chocolate glazed chest with the undoing of each shirt button.
Your eyes rake, taking in the subtle, or possibly deliberate movement - watching the flirtatious smile ghost his lips, as his muscles flexing carnally, discarding his shirt. Blaise swipes the remaining mess splattered on his thigh, leaning down to offer his soaked fingers out for you. Captivated by his enticing form, your mouth is still gaping allowing him to persist guiding them into your mouth.
The metallic taste of yourself seeps on to your taste buds, your tongue instinctively swirling around his large digits. A whiney moan is pulled, the sound lighting Blaise’s face up, “that’s it pretty girl, cleaning up your own mess.”
He retracts his fingers, your eyes locked on one another as he wastes no time, leaning down, hovering over you to plant kisses along your collarbone. Trailing your hands up his muscular chest, squeezing, grasping every inch of him. Every moan and whimper made, etched slowly, being ingrained into his mind, the sounds he always dreamed of hearing.
His body pressed against yours, his throbbing cock nestling in between your thighs, brushing the soaked cotton of your undies, grazing your overly sensitive clit. Moans spill as you tilt your head back, elongating your neck, allowing Blaise to seize the opportunity to trail more kisses up your neck. “Fuck, so needy aren’t you, Sunshine?”
Migrating his hands, he trails them up your body, pulling at the fabric blocking your tits. Groping at your delicate bust, the soft flesh buried by the depths of his hands, illustrating the extensive size of them. Working skillfully, he unclips the garment, exposing your delicious bust, his pupils dilating, taking in the enticing sight. Lust glazes over his eyes, his hands cupping, squeezing the supple hold of your tit, nipping harsher at your neck.
Nodding to his question, his fingers flick at your hardened nipples, pinching them till you cry pathetically. “Please, don’t make me wait any longer.”
He chuckles dryly, “I know I taught you better manners than that.” Another harsh pinch is applied, his fingers twisting mercilessly at your sensitive buds. A deep wave of pleasure courses through him at your desperate cries, his lips curling into a smug smile. “Always have been so impatient, haven’t you sunshine? Such a whiney little brat.”
You whine at the degradation, the quickness in which Blaise turned over a coin, moving away from his usual tolerating tone replaced by a figure of dominance, left you wanting more. With his free hand, he trails it down your body, making you squirm at his touch, his fingers pulling at the hemline of your panties. You shiver desperately, trying to clench at anything, his finger teasing your slit. Coaxing his digits in your juices, teasing your clit, rubbing small circles across the sensitive bud, the motions sending shocks of pleasure through you.
Moaning in relief, your hips buck as you grasp onto his shoulders, trying to bring him closer, needing, wanting more. He has other plans though, replacing his hand with his mouth, sucking on your nipple, he holds you firmly in place. Squeezing your thigh, nails digging into your skin, a cautionary threat. His fingers draw slow, sensual circles, creating shivers that spread over every inch of you. The tantalizing sensation leaves you squirming more in his hold, eyes peering at him wide, doe eyed.
Brown eyes peer down on you in mock disappointment at your feeble desire for him. “Ask me nicely, and maybe I'll go easy on you.” His cock twitches at the contortion of your face, revealing your desperate need for him, enough to spur him on, rubbing his finger at an intensely slow pace.
“Please Blaise, I’ll be good…I just need…need you to fuck me.” Breathlessly you ask him, his teasing pace making your head split, his lips still consumed by your tits.
His face curves amused into a satisfied smirk at hearing your request, demand. “Atta girl, wasn’t so hard now.” His fingers rub, increasing their pace on your hypersensitive clit, before sliding a digit inside your soaked pussy.
The surprised whine has him biting his lip, grazing his teeth across your nipple, suckling harder, leaving reddening marks across your breasts. Warmth invades him as his finger stretches you out, groaning at how needfully you clench, squeezing around him. “Fuck.” He slides another in relishing in the sounds you make, “gotta fucking stretch this tight little pussy out”.
Your cunt clenches trying to hold on to his fingers as he slides them through your wet folds, unable to stop your hips from lifting. The long wait of the pressure building has you clawing at his shoulder blades, you pleading with him before you know it. “Please, fuck, Blaise. Please, I need something more.”
“I said I’d go easy sunshine, I don’t think you’re read-” “Please!” A whine spurs from you in agony, at the thought of waiting any longer unbearable, having waited longer than tonight to fuck him.
He cocks a brow at your rude interruption, his eyes taking in your pleading face. It's lucky you were so damn cute with your face all scrunched, though if you didn’t want it easy, he wouldn’t give it to you.
Withdrawing his hands, he gives your cunt a small slap, silencing your outburst. “This is what you want. Is it not sunshine?” In seconds, he tugs his boxers down, his cock bursting as it springs free, smacking up into his abdominal.
Lowering your gaze lustfully, unable to stop the shameful way your mouth drops, your stomach dropping. Holy fuck. A wave of anticipation hums, an electric trill spikes through your nerves, making you tremble. He leans closer resting his head against your forehead, pumping his hard cock, small grunts of relief leave him. “Be a good girl and tell me if you want me to stop.”
Nodding while maintaining contact with his chestnut orbs, waves of comfort wash over you. He gives you a reassuring smile, tilting his head to brush his lips against yours again. The softness of his lips distracts you momentarily, a blaze of heat rising in you as he pushes forward, sliding the head of his cock into your folds. The stretch you felt as Blaise edged his cock further in catches your breath in your throat.
Groaning as he sank his hips forward, filling you up completely, his breath shallows feeling how your cunt swallows his cock. The tight warmness of your cunt, clenching, sucking his cock in snuggly, his hands resting on your hips, pausing as he waits for you to adjust. A sharp breath is drawn. “Fuck, you good sunsh-.”
“Holy shit, your cock feels so'good, so fucking big.” The look Blaise shoots at you shows his level of patience breaking. Agitated by your blunt interruption despite your erotic praise, hands gripping your hips tighter. He was used to your bratty attitude; it just was something that came with being your friend. But now buried deep within your warm walls, he wanted to fucking put you in your place.
In an instance, his hips move, pounding viciously, his muscles relaxing with each thrust, relishing at how well you're already taking him. You whimper, eyes widening at Blaise’s relentless pace, your nails digging into his skin to stabilise yourself. The intense pressure in your stomach spirals as you throw your head back, focusing hard on taking him. Your walls clenching, eyes squeezing shut incoherent babble spewing from your lips.
Blaise chuckles bitterly, “Remember when I said I wouldn’t go too hard on you? Yeah, well I lied.” Your skin burns, the tightening grip of his hands, his lips planting hot kisses along your neck. His hands grab your legs, wrapping them around himself, allowing him to sink deeper.
“Such an impatient little brat. Got what you wanted, now what you can’t even talk? Where’s the gratitude, Sunshine.” The more he degraded you, the more you whimpered, feeling overwhelmed by his words. He caresses your face, trying not to be too stern. “look at me, pretty girl, let me see you as you take my cock.”
With Blaise’s hand guiding your head, your eyes meet his, brows scrunching and lips parting, only breathless whimpers escaping them. Groans spill from himself watching you struggle, clearly enjoying the ruthlessness of his movements. “Tell me how good it feels.”
“So’ good..” a weak murmur is heard, making Blaise grin in satisfication, watching the way your tits bounce, your eyes glazed over, tears brimming.
“Takin me so well baby, such a good girl.” Blaise rests his head against your forehead, sharing sweet praises in between the sounds of your merciless whimpers. “Letting me take care of your sweet cunt, ain’t that right?”
Your body tenses convulsing, hands gripping roughly onto Blaise, mind fogging as your second climax approaches. His lips press claiming yours in a hot kiss, your breath stalled as he reaches down rubbing your clit, coaxing you closer to the edge. His own thrusts become more erratic, increasing his pace, groaning each time you squeezed his cock. Pleasure surges through you, feeling him slam repeatedly against the certain spot. “Blaise, fuck.. I’m gonna-”
An overwhelming cry tears through you, mind shattering as you fall over the edge. Head thrown back, pulling Blaise down with you, your legs continue to shake as he kisses your neck softly, his pace slowing as his own climax nears. His hands kept your legs pried wide as he groaned, rutting his hips with one last thrust, spilling his hot seed inside you.
He collapses on top of you, resting his head in the crook of your neck. Catching your breath, your hands caress, trailing along his back. “Thank you.” Your voice is soft and quiet but laced with teasing.
His head lifts, sighing in amusement at your comment with an eye roll, the corners of his mouth pulling into a smile. “You fucking kill me, sunshine.” He pushes himself off of you, pulling himself out, a collective sigh shared between you.
Rearranging himself, he moves to retrieve materials to clean you up. Tending to your sensitive body, his eyes meet yours, offering a hand out for you to sit up. “Did I hurt you?” His brows furrowing, eyes studying your overall reaction.
You shake your head, still feeling weak from the mind blowing experience. “no you could never hurt me. You take care of me, right?”
Blaise grins sweetly back at you, his hand twirling a loose strand of your hair around his finger. “I do. Always gonna take care of my sunshine.”
A new spread of red scatters your face as you give him a soft smile. Your eyes meet in a bittersweet moment, sharing in the reality of what had just happened. Biting your lip, giggles bubbling. “While I thanked you, you better thank the weasleys.”
The smile is swept off his face hearing your next comment, his eyes rolling back for the millionth time. His eyes give you a ludicrous look as he wraps his hands, engulfing your warm body and bringing you closer to him. “I think it’s you who finally deserves a thank you. Guess not all your ideas are disasters.”
You laugh, beaming at the warm embrace, glad your relationship hasn't changed. "So does that mean I win?”
He cocks a brow, snorting, “I don’t know about that. I think you’re still taking home the title of sore loser.” He winks, chuckling at his own innuendo. Though as he gazes upon you, captivated by your beauty, a realization of something new unfolds. A smile beams as he nods, “Though I guess you may have won in other ways tonight.”

Draco Malfoy x female reader smut Requested by Jas, again. 😶🖕
Your last name is Potter. So you're Harry's sister lmao.
-----------
You were sitting next to your brother when you had heard the annoying yet dreamy voice of your secret boyfriend, Draco Malfoy.
"Oh, look! It's the two pot heads sitting next to each other!" He and his friends laughed.
"Piss off, Malfoy." Harry said as he rolled his eyes. "No, I think YOU should fuck off. Oh, Y/N, is he always this insufferable?" Malfoy asked you with a grin on his face. He lifted your chin.
"Get your filthy hands off me." You slapped his hand away. "Woah! Y/N Potter is angry!" He laughed. Malfoy looked at you, and he whispered in your ear, "Slytherin common room. One a.m." You watched as he left.
"Y/N," you turned your attention to Harry. "What did that asshole tell you?" He asked. "Nothing." Harry nodded. You sighed in relief. The chosen one who chose not to pry in further. You secretly thanked him for that. ---
It was one am. Harry was sleeping. You digged through his trunk and found his invisibility cloak. You threw it over yourself and grabbed your wand.
You quickly yet quietly ran to to Slytherin common room. You took off the cloak and found Malfoy there with his arms crossed. "You're late." He said with a frown. "Sorry." You muttered. He led you in the common room and into his room.
"Y/N, I don't wanna keep our relationship a secret anymore." He blurted out. "I-I'm not sure, Draco." You said.
He tilted his head, "Why? The war is over. No one can stop us." He planted a soft kiss on your lips. "I know." You kissed him back this time. More passionately.
You unbuttoned his white shirt. "You sure you wanna do this?" He asked. "Yes." You replied. He picked you up and placed you on the bed. He kissed down your neck, leaving marks. He started to strip off his own clothes as well, unbuttoning his shirt and kicking off his shoes.
He was on top of you again, his kisses hungry and rough, his tongue forcing its way into your mouth as he let out a low growl. He removed your pants and rubbed his cock against your thigh.
He picked down your neck, kissing and sucking hard enough to leave hickies.
Draco looked up at you, his eyes dark, pupils blown wide. You gasped when you felt his fingers on your clit. He rubbed in small circles and you moaned and bucked your hips. He slowly pushed a finger inside, making you whine as you tried to move against it, needing more.
He added another finger, his thrusts slow but deep and curling inside to rub your g-spot.
You came hard, your legs shook as you let out a loud moan. You panted as he removed his fingers. Draco flipped you onto your stomach. He rubbed the head of his cock at your entrance, pushing it in just a little. You gasped and your walls squeezed around him, trying to push him further. He pulled out before pushing back in. He gripped your hips as he moved in faster. You gasped and mewled, biting down your lip as your body shook. He felt so big and you couldn't believe how good it felt. Draco continued to thrust into you, his hips moving faster, moving deeper inside you.
"Cum in me!" You said with a low moan. He snarled and slammed into you hard, making you cry out in pleasure. You gripped the sheets, whining as his cock rubbed against your g-spot. You were getting closer and closer every second. He pulled out and flipped you over again, slamming back into you harder. You cried out, arching your back as he continued to thrust in and out of you. He pulled out. "Suck." He said. You opened your mouth and he shoved his cock in. You moaned around him as he fucked your face, pushing his cock deep in before pulling out to let you breathe. You sucked him like a popsicle, swirling your tongue around the tip, lapping up the precum as you looked up at him. He grabbed you by the back of your head and shoved himself back down your throat. You moaned around him, taking him as far as you could go. "You're so good at this." He grunted. You blushed and he chuckled. He removed himself from your mouth and pinned your hands above your head, pinning them down with one hand while the other held your chin. He rubbed the head of his cock at your entrance again and pushed back inside you. He fucked you hard, making you feel like jelly, his cock slamming against every nerve. He kissed you again, his lips hungry and rough. You moaned against his mouth as your walls clenched around him. You came.
-----
The next day, you two entered the great hall hand-in-hand. "Y/N, what the hell?!" You heard your brother say angrily.
--
I am so fucking tired.

Mother Knows Best
Blaise Zabini x Hufflepuff!Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: (angst, fucked up family dynamic)
A/N: This is the dress I had in mind in case my description doesn't do it justice. All credit to the artist here. and hair inspo (top right). Also I'm not sure why I keep writing that Blaise hates yellow but it feels right, idk.
Summary: With your parents abhorrent views you doubt they could choose a decent partner.
Word Count: 5.6k
The wizarding community was small which meant that Hogwarts was even smaller. Thankfully you had been able to slip under the radar, which in hindsight was easy since your classmate was Harry Potter. Either way, people wrote you off as timid and boring but the truth was far worse.
Growing up everything seemed fine you came from a prestigious family that was more than respected. With that came expectations as you were told but understood, you made sure your magic was comparable to no one. You had practiced so much that there were cramps in your hand and wrist regularly. However, the expectations that your parents meant were far more nefarious than being a prefect.
For your sorting ceremony, you had come from a family of Ravenclaw’s and Slytherin’s so when the hat called out Hufflepuff it seemed a slight pause was taken. There wasn’t explicit disappointment written on your father’s face but you knew what he would have preferred. But in his words at least you weren’t Gryffindor.
Motivation thrummed through your body to make up for less than adequate house. You’d managed to become quite knowledgeable on many subjects, even things as taboo as muggle studies. You’d never dared to take the class but had read a few books out of morbid curiosity. There was never anything explicitly anti-muggle spoken about in your household but deep down you knew better. The kind of family you were born into would never be outspoken about that sort of thing, it’s unbecoming in your mother’s words.
After the death of Cedric Diggory, more talks of he who shall not be named permeated the community. Some believed it was an unexplainable tragedy while others were in complete denial. Not only were you disgusted by what they did to him you also felt sad for Harry, it was crystal clear what happened. Your parents on the other hand seemed unaffected, that should have been the first sign but you were too busy giving condolences to Harry.
Next was the stream of people they contacted in the coming months. At first, none of them rang any alarm bells but more and more suspected Death Eaters would permeate your childhood home. A small riff formed between your parents and you, the seemingly loving people who raised you held such nasty views. Visits to your childhood home soon became limited to mandatory holidays under the guise of you studying for your O.W.L.s.
Soon enough you could see exactly where they stood and it terrified you. There wasn’t anyone you could turn to without fearing it would get back to your parents.
……..
On your scheduled visit home you were indifferent to finding certain members of the Ministry leaving your parent's home. However, as your father stood before you in the foyer expectantly you couldn’t help but wonder why. Usually, it would just be your mother receiving you due to the constant stream of ‘meetings’ your father held. No words were exchanged between you two before he gestured for you to follow him to his office.
The once warm memories that this house provided now gave way to shivers down your spine. It felt like the closer you were to approaching his office the harder your heart thundered in your chest. Uneasiness settles within you because of your father’s seemingly cold nature.
Inside his office, he gestured to the seat across from his chair and your heart sank. Although you didn’t feel at home anymore, you didn’t have the heart to fully distance yourself. For so long all of your work was due to upholding the family name and reputation and if you let that go there was nothing else. Your mother gave nothing away while she stood off to the side.
“As you know darling a war is brewing, and now is the time that our Dark Lord needs his loyal correspondents.” His hands on your shoulders send a cold shiver over you. “And it worries me that my daughter seems to sympathize with mudbloods.” Even though you couldn’t see his face you could only picture the defeat on his face.
“I-” Before you could attempt to defend yourself you were interrupted.
“I thought I had made my expectations for you obvious child.” Your father’s fingers dug into you causing a grimance across your face. “Only for you to embarrass me after I put all of my hopes and dreams into you.” Tears well in your eyes from the pain of both his words and his harsh grip.
“Have I not given you everything?” In spite of how you’ve felt about his purist ways, his words cause you to scramble to reassure him. After all, you didn’t put in as much work as you had to disappoint him.
“You have and I-” The words become stuck in your throat because of how much you are trying to say at once. “I’m so sorry.” Shame has your head hanging low while your tears wet your pants. “I saw Cedric as a friend and I let my judgment get clouded.” Sobs wrack your body and your father lets his death grip go to comfort you.
“It’s okay darling sometimes we become a little misguided. As long as we find our way back that’s all that matters.” The same hands that caused your breakdown are now nursing you back with slow circles. Your breathing begins to even out and your father takes that as his cue to continue with what this meeting is really about.
“Now that we’ve taken care of that, I wanted to talk about what we are gathered here for.” His hands clap together in what you assume is excitement, and a glance at your now-smiling mother confirms it. “Tonight we are celebrating your impending nuptials.”
Never has your head swiveled so quickly, you weren't privy to any marriage conversations. As far as you knew you weren’t promised to anyone but you knew better than to question anything in this moment. From the corner of your eye, you see your mother leave the room and the thundering in your heart amps up once again.
“And what better family to be joined with than the Zabini’s?” Your mother is the one to drop the name of your future husband as she glides into the office again. Behind her, you see the infamous Zabini’s. Everyone is familiar with the Zabini’s, more specifically the rumored black widow Domenica Zabini. Her track record of 7 dead husbands speaks for itself. There was nothing short of perfection about their appearance, not that you expected less.
The joy on your mother’s face feels like you’re in an alternate universe, one that involves a happy family. Somehow you didn’t see the gilded cage that had slowly been closing until it was too late. If there was food in your stomach it would have been thrown up by now.
“Don’t play coy darling, they’ve come all this way to meet you.” As if your breakdown didn’t just happen your mother ushers you out of the seat before urging you closer. “This will be good for you, for us.” The low tone of her voice leaves no room for opposition.
Domencia’s keen eyes take you in and you almost can’t believe this woman killed her husbands. There’s nothing overtly cunning or evil-looking about her presence as one would think. Her son, on the other hand, had a menacing demeanor for someone who you’d never heard utter a word. Since Hogwarts was small his best friends Theo and Draco more than made up for his silence.
His brown eyes are calculated while he takes you in and your heart betrays you by skipping a beat.
“You’re even more breathtaking in person.” Were the first words you ever heard him speak and you hated to admit how your whole body fluttered. The low register of his voice made it feel like only the two of you were in the room despite your parents lurking off into the corner.
“So the mythical Blaise does speak?” You keep your voice low like his.
“Considering you are my future wife I’d say it’s imperative.” And just like that the reality of your future comes crashing back to you.
Blaise gently grabs your hand and brings it to his lips before running his thumb across your knuckles. His eyes never leave yours and you can’t help but wonder if he’s trying to disarm you. Either way, you remember to keep your guard up around him.
“Is there anywhere for us to talk, privately?” Although you doubt your parents can hear you he still goes the extra mile to bring his lips to the shell of your ear.
“I’m not sure that’s a good idea.” Your eyes dart around the room in an attempt to get out of the situation you’ve landed in.
“Afraid you’ll actually come to like me, sweetheart?” Blaise, as observant of ever, notices your hesitation to him despite his very convincing charm.
“No.” Even you weren’t convinced by your answer however, you refused to give him the satisfaction.
An amused smirk plays on his face and he finds himself more than pleased with this arrangement. The air between you was thick with undeniable tension.
“You know,” Your mother places her hands on your shoulders gently but that doesn’t stop the small wince on your face, “You should show Blaise around the grounds since he’ll be around a lot.”
“That would be lovely.” His award-winning smile splits his face in agreeance with your mother.
Seeing no way out of this you tell him, “Stay close to me.”
Many would say that your familial land is almost as grand as Hogwarts, but that only applies if you enjoy greenery. The house is incomparable to the vast amounts of land you can explore and observe. Your mother favored her garden and maze, so much so that the familial home was inconsequential to the lands she demanded.
“I take it you weren’t as up-to-date as your parents led me to believe?” Now that you two were truly alone Blaise saw no need to hold back.
“I wasn’t but I can’t say I’m completely upset with their choice.” The truth is they went far beyond your expectations.
“So I still have a chance?” He pulls back before the two of you are more than a couple feet from the house. “I must plead my case.” His general nature gives you pause, you’ve never met someone so magnetic.
“And what exactly is your case?” Your curiosity gets the better of you.
“We could make this a long engagement, I don’t mind a wait. Frankly, I enjoy your presence and I wouldn’t mind growing from that.” His hands reach for yours, and somehow it doesn’t seem desperate.
“You’re making this feel so easy.” As much as you wanted to reject any man sent your way through your parents, Blaise was different. Not to mention you weren’t in a position to bargain.
“I don’t want to force you, but I will promise absolute devotion.” This time when he kisses your knuckles there’s no prying eyes, making the moment much more remarkable.
Truth be told above all else you wanted someone exactly like Blaise, but your parent's involvement sort of ruined the moment. Emotionally you were still reeling from your father’s outburst, and you know it won’t be the last. If you could keep him off your back with this there would be less pressure surrounding any future mistake.
But that does peg the question of how you’ll fare should this relationship get serious. Would you be the first of many wives for Blaise? The thought sent a chill down your spine and there’s no way you could outright ask. For the time being you decide being a team player is most important and string Blaise along until he tires of you.
“I would love nothing more.” Maybe you laid it on a little thick but Blaise doesn’t seem to notice or care.
………….
With news of you and Blaise’s engagement spreading amongst the parents, you knew it wouldn’t take long for the gossip mill at Hogwarts to circulate. By the time you return from your visit whispers follow you through the corridor.
“So you wanna tell me why everyone is talking about your engagement to Blaise?” Madeline, your closest friend, saddles up next to you as you barrel down the hall.
You slow down your fast pace to pull her into an empty classroom. “I knew my Father held some anti-muggle ideals but now he’s talking about doing the Dark Lord’s bidding. I went home this weekend to find out they had me betrothed to Blaise Zabini.” Your hands find their way to your face in an effort to rub the emotional distress out. “Not to mention he completely freaked out on me for expressing my sympathies for Harry. Mads I’ve never seen him like that, it scared me.”
“Godric,” She made her way to stand beside you before rubbing your back in gentle circles. Madeline was first assigned as one of your dormmates, she took it upon herself to adopt you. She'd seen first-hand the immense pressure your parents put on you, and in turn the pressure you placed on yourself. “You know you’re always welcome around mine?”
Although you did know that it would only prolong the inevitable with your parents. Nevertheless, you thank her and rest your head on her shoulder.
“The worst part is the fact that I don't completely hate Blaise, I mean he would be perfect if my parents hadn’t been the ones to arrange it. Now it feels tainted you know?” Your eyes are glued to the floor while you pour out everything you’d had to hold in this past weekend.
“Of course, not to mention his mother has an interesting romantic history.” You are glad that you’re not the only one who noticed.
“But he’s so gorgeous.” You tilt your head away from your best friend with a whimsical sigh.
“You’re preaching to the choir.” Her agreeance has you craning your neck to blink in surprise at her.
“Not too much, he’s still my fiance.” Playfully you narrow your eyes at Mads before bursting into laughter with her joining you.
With your spirits back up the both of you head back into the hall and make your way to the grand hall. Studying would help in taking your mind off of everything else, somehow it was relaxing. The table was decorated with textbooks as you and Madeline delved into your academics.
“You look even more radiant when you’re focused.” That low drawl had your head quickly swiveling to meet Blaise’s eyes in surprise.
“There’s a lot I need to stay up to date on.” Your answer must have been enough for him to take a seat next to you. But you don’t let his presence deter you from your agenda. Madeline squirms in her seat across from you to get your attention only to give you a knowing look.
“I’m sure there is,” He lets his eyes fall over your form, and warmth spreads throughout your body at his brazenness. He clears his throat before continuing, “ My mother’s hosting a party next weekend and I was wondering if you’d do me the honor of being my date?”
From the corner of your eye, you could feel Madeline’s widened eyes taking in this conversation. You’re not sure why you expected Blaise to ignore you once you returned to Hogwarts, but strangely you’re pleased he didn’t. Finally, you set your quill down to properly address him.
“I would love that,” You school your features to not look as giddy as you feel. “Any specific dress code requirements?”
“If you don’t mind I got your measurements from your mother and had a dress commissioned.” He had the gall to look sheepish.
“And what if I find the dress ugly? What if I had said no?” The questions fly out one after the other.
“Your mother promised me you had no shortage of beautiful gowns, and if you had said no I would have found another way to gift it to you.” His eyes peer down at you while you bashfully glance towards Madeline. Once he leaves you know you’ll never hear the end of this.
“Well thank you,” For once you are truly rendered speechless and there is no other feeling more embarrassing.
Blaise, as observant as ever, senses the end of the conversation and readies himself to leave. Before he completely takes off he places a folded piece of paper in your palm and closes it. When his back faces you you let your eyes wander after him with a stupid smile splitting your face. You realize too late that once he reaches his table his friends have already caught you grinning like an idiot. They proceed to clap him on the back and you quickly face Mads only to be met with a teasing grin.
You resign yourself to laying your head on the table until the smile on your face calms down. When you unfold the piece of paper you find a rough draft of a fluffy green gown. His penmanship impressed you but his eye for detail on the various layers of dresses solidified your opinion.
…………
The box holding the dress Blaise commissioned is sitting on the ottoman by the foot of your bed. It was a deep emerald green with a light green bow wrapping around it. Your mother delivered it with a bright smile as soon as it arrived in the morning. She was adamant about opening it but you wanted to wait, even if the anticipation was killing you too.
Your parents were attending as well but they had been rather agreeable lately. Just as you assumed once you showed interest in being with Blaise they seemingly backed off. The last thing you want is a repeat of what happened.
With the sun setting you begin taking down your hair, and the curls bounce as you rub oil on them. You deliberately save the front braids for last while you finish individually placing each curl. The front of your hair is parted to the right side, and you begin gathering half into a small ponytail. You decide to leave a small piece of hair out from the right side that is curled away from your face.
A smile graces your face at the finished product and you turn to the box that’s been calling to you all day. The note attached to the bow was the first thing you read.
I hope the dress is up to your standards -B.Z.
You place the note on your bed and untie the bow before lifting the top. A lavish hunter-green bustier greets you, before fully pulling it out you take note of the silver and black jewels lining the entire top. You carefully grab the strapless top to pull it out of the box and a gasp involuntarily leaves your mouth at the mass of the dress.
Flowers made of sheer fabric litter the waist and sage green fabric lines the sides of the dress. Layers of tulle overlap with leafy designs that feature silver accents. You had never seen a dress as beautiful as the one in front of you, Blaise clearly had an eye for fashion. The drawing he gave didn’t do the dress enough justice.
Progressively you place the dress on the floor and step into it. Perfect is the only word to describe it as you gaze at yourself in the mirror. Even in low light, the jewels sparkle enticingly and you note that he used his house color on you. You do a spin before heading to your jewelry box, only to find that you missed a matching necklace and earring set at the bottom. The dangly earrings remind you of snowflakes and the necklace matches the gems atop your dress.
“Please tell me you’re rea-” Your mother bustles into your room but pauses mid-sentence at you. “My, you look stunning.” She slowly circles you before noting the jewelry in your hand and she gestures for you to face the mirror. She delicately takes out your stud earrings and replaces them with the one Blaise gifted you. When she reaches into the box for the necklace a gasp, much like your earlier one, leaves her red-tinted lips.
“When he asked me about your measurements I never expected this.” She circles her arms over your head to gingerly lay the necklace over your sternum. Her polished nails circle your shoulders for a gentle squeeze, “Let's finish up before your father storms in here.”
She sits you down on your vanity chair before pulling out a brown lipstick and gloss. You tilt your head back to allow her an easier time and her sweet perfume fills your nostrils. Once she finishes she steps back to admire her handiwork with a smile. She opens her mouth to say something but is interrupted by your father’s call.
“We are now thirty minutes late,” The both of you share a silent laugh before heading downstairs to put on shoes and meet your father.
………..
Blaise is bored out of his mind waiting for you, he was surrounded by friends but it was clear he was anxiously awaiting your arrival. Although he thought you would like the dress he couldn’t be sure, maybe it was a bad idea to not consult you.
“Oh cheer up Zabini your girlfriend’ll be here soon.” Theodore’s quip was met with laughter from Draco.
“Not girlfriend, fiancee.” Malfoy corrects Theo before Blaise can open his mouth to say the same thing. While they laugh Blaise rolls his eyes before scanning the hall once more. Theodore could sense how his friend felt despite him trying to downplay it.
“Is there an actual ring or is this a vocal agreement?” Draco decided to push his limits
“There’s plenty of rings but we aren’t there yet kind of like you and Astoria.” Draco rolls his eyes at the reminder of his love life. “And who knows when a woman will become agreeable to your presence Nott.”
Both boys exchanged looks of amusement at Blaise’s snappy tone.
Time seems to stand still when he spots you at the entrance of his mother’s grand hall. His heart thunders as he realizes you are wearing the dress he helped create. The low light of the room captures the shimmering jewels that line the dress and he can’t recall anyone as lovely as you. For once he is rooted in place unable to fulfill the greeting he had prepared.
“I think I understand now mate.” Theodore is stumped in place as well when he follows Blaise’s line of sight.
Everyone in the hall spares a glance at you, how could they not? The dress gives the illusion that you are gliding across the floor. His mother intercepts your family and focuses on you. It’s obvious she’s fawning over how alluring you are. Your eyes scan the crowd scantily and Blaise takes that as his cue.
“I’ll catch up with you two later.” He doesn’t spare his friends a glance as he makes his way through the crowd to you.
When your eyes lock with his he internally melts, the closer he gets the more you steal his breath away. A symphony with booming music plays in his head to match his beating heart.
You straighten your posture when Blaise stands before you in a three-piece emerald green tailman suit. His hand collects yours before bowing to kiss your knuckles, and after he comes up you curtsey before him. Your dress pools around you in the most elegant way before you slowly come up again. It was nearly impossible to rip his eyes away from you but he had to greet your parents before whisking you off.
“Would you mind excusing us?” Blaise’s polite manner brings joy to your mother’s face and approval to your father's.
“Of course not,” Your mother and Domencia are quick to shoo you and him away.
His hand glides around to the small of your back while he guides you to the refreshment table. The array of food makes it hard for you to pick anything and he senses your indecision. He hands you a plate to pick as much as you want.
“Thank you, for the dress it really is amazing. Your drawing was beautiful but I never expected anything like this.” The sparkle in your eyes is all he wanted to see.
“Anything for you.” His declaration left you speechless once again so you focus on picking your food.
He then leads you to your table to eat but you hesitate before moving to sit. Blaise angles your body and dress to sit comfortably in his lap. Your stomach flutters for the umpteenth time and you try to look anywhere besides his face.
“This was your plan all along huh? Create this elaborate dress so I’m woefully dependent on you.” You begin trying the various foods on your plate while Blaise watches you.
“If I’m being honest I wish I had come up with that, but I did want to see you in a beautiful gown. Maybe steal a dance or two.” His complete focus was on you enjoying your treacle tart.
“Nobody else is dancing though,” You spare a glance around to find everyone mingling while the live band plays quietly.
“So?” His head was being cradled by his large hand as he searched your eyes.
“You must be the fiancee, we’ve heard so much about you.” Draco Malfoy and Theodore Nott step into view on the other side of the table.
“I kind of miss Zabini when he was quiet and mysterious.” Theodore jokingly pouts his lips at Blaise before taking his seat.
“Fuck off,” Blaise tries to look annoyed but everyone catches the slight crack in his face.
“The only Blaise I’ve encountered is the lovesick puppy variant.” The boys roar with laughter at your one-liner.
“As much as I love this conversation, I should probably do a couple of laps around the room,” He places his hands on your hips before addressing you, “You think you’ll be okay with these vultures for a couple of minutes?”
“I think I’ll be alright,” The mischievous grin on your face convinced him and you stood up so he could fulfill his hosting duties.
“That's the spirit,” Malfoy clapped his hands at your willingness to entertain them. “Shall we get you a drink to catch up with us?”
“As long as it’s fire whiskey.” Your agreeance has them flagging down the nearest server for a round of glasses.
Surprisingly talking with Draco and Theo is easy, mostly because they’ve been shit-talking Blaise. You keep your intake of whiskey to two glasses to keep your wits about you. This wasn’t that kind of party.
They tell the story of how Blaise was knocked off his broom by an ex-girlfriend's spell. A re-enactment of how he flailed for 30 feet ensued but luckily the table was toward the back. You’d been breathing in short bursts for the past few minutes and you hope for a reprieve.
“Alright if you all don’t mind I’ll be stealing her for a dance,” Blaise’s hand stretches out to you before he calls, “M’lady.”
One last giggle escapes from your lips when you place your hand in his and slowly rise from your chair. On the way to the middle of the floor, you realize the band is playing a much louder tune than before. Blaise’s steps slow and his hand guides you around to the front of him while your dress flows flawlessly.
Each of you repeats the bow and curtsey from earlier but this time you keep eye contact. Once both of you are upright you wait for the musical cue to begin your first step. When the violinist begins their solo you step forward attaching one hand to his right shoulder and the other in his left hand. His hand envelops yours before sliding down to the small of your back, just above the flowers.
Just like you thought you two were the only ones about to dance, and people were quickly realizing that.
“Don’t look around, I want to see those beautiful eyes aimed at me.” With warm cheeks, you gaze up at Blaise who smiles back at you taking the first step in the dance. Completely confident in your steps, you follow his lead while he guides you in circles.
“This dress is the best gift anyone’s ever given me and don’t even get me started on the jewelery, thank you.” You step back as Blaise raises his arm to spin you, showcasing the multiple layers of tulle whirling around you.
“Does this mean I need to begin drafting another?” The moment you step back into each other’s space it feels as if the whole room is empty save for you two.
“If I could make a request, would you mind yellow?” The slight grimace crossing his face makes you laugh.
“And your very first flaw rears its ugly head.” You swallow the chuckle that wants to escape so that you can back away from Blaise once more. This time you both take a step to your left before holding your palms close but not touching. With your left hand behind your back, you keep your eyes on the only person in the room as you walk in a circle.
“Where would I even wear another dress like this?” Events like this don’t exactly happen every week.
“I’ll plan another party for you.” His words cause your heartbeat to thunder in your chest you almost thought he could hear it.
All playful banter between you ceased and all that could be heard were the strings of violins increasing in tempo. At the same time, you turn so that your right hand can hold a sliver of space between them. Something within his eyes made a jolt run through your body as if you took Amortentia.
With the tempo slightly decreasing it was time for you to stand side by side, facing the fireplace and his hand guiding you backward. Now that the both of you are facing each other once again you circle the other in a figure-eight motion. If you were thinking about anything other than Blaise you would feel ridiculous but there was nothing else running through your mind.
His mouth firmly remains in a smile and yours mirrors his if the strain in your cheeks had any say. Your dance comes to an end when you face each other before your last curtsey. Applause fills the room and you remember you’re not alone.
“I think it’s time for a tour.” Blaise bends down to speak lowly into your ear and a shiver runs down your spine.
“I would love that.” You place your hand on his bicep and follow his lead out of the ballroom.
The corridors are dim with only candles lighting your path. Your heels click rhythmically in time with Blaise’s steps, echoing off the walls.
“You’re enjoying yourself I take it?” Even though he meant to sound sure you could hear the doubt in his voice.
“I love it, I love this dress, and spending time with you isn’t terrible.” Everything about tonight has been great and you were starting to come around to the idea of actually being with Blaise. Maybe the deal with his mother’s dead husband had a logical explanation.
“That sparkle in your eye tells me it’s a little better than terrible.” He slows to a stop before sliding his arm around your waist. An alcove that has stained glass lets the moonlight shine through allowing the colors to reflect off your skin.
“It would kill me to admit my parents are right.” Your whisper causes the biggest smirk to split his face and you almost retract your statement.
“It would kill me if you were to let that stop you.” Both of his hands find themselves planted on your waist playing with the jewels.
After a moment of looking at you his thumb and forefinger lift your head so he can press his lips delicately to yours. You tilt your head to kiss him back while your hands find purchase on his biceps. The way his thumb caresses your cheek makes you lose all inhibitions. Suddenly your hand wraps around the back of his neck to bring his lips closer, your poor dress getting squished in the process.
It felt like the two of you were molded together, if someone walked past they wouldn’t know where you end and Blaise begins. A groan sounds from him as he slides his hand from your face to the back of your neck, balling his fist full of your hair. When he pulls a gasp leaves your lips and allows him to slide his tongue in.
“Godric, save that for the honeymoon.” Theodore’s voice and Draco’s laugh feel like cold water being poured over you. Blaise’s hand leaves your hair but stays around your waist while you keep both of your hands at your side. Lip gloss makes his lips irregularly shiny and you're tempted to wipe it but you're interrupted.
“Your mother’s asking for the both of you, so we did you a favor and came ourselves.” Draco smiles before raising his glass of fire whiskey and tipping it back.
You and Blaise begin leading the long trek back to the ballroom.
“They’re going to breed like gnomes.” There was no telling who mumbled that out but it resulted in laughter spilling out from everyone.

heyy! how are you? Could you write a story in which reader and there close friends get into a serious argument which ruins there relationship and there close friend reveals that reader has a crush on Draco and reader somehow runs into Draco and then cries into his arms as he comforts her. This happened to me (the first part not the second part, my crush sided with my friend) and I feel like it'd help me cope xx make any changes as suitable!
Sorry if this is too long to read and if you have a similar request then ignore this xx
Love your writing btw xx
First of all I want to say that I am really sorry that this happened to you and I hope that by now everything turned out somewhat good again. Much, much love and strength to you and I really hope I got everything right and that you will like this fic!
I really suck at making up fights out of nowhere, so this kinda felt like I forced it to escalate but I hope that it all still makes sense and you enjoy reading (even though I´ve done some characters really dirty in this fic).
False friends and true love
You stared into the fire crackling inside the fireplace of your common room. You felt your eyes getting heavy as you watched the flames dancing, and the chattering of your friends lulled you in. You sighed comfortably as you snuggled up even more into the cosy blanket covering you, your eyes lazily drifting from the fireplace to your friends who had spread on the couches and armchairs next to you, talking about the latest Quidditch matches, homework and the upcoming exams.
You barely even noticed how you became dizzier and dizzier, slowly drifting off into sleep, until suddenly, your head fell to the side, hitting something hard, making you jolt up again, looking around in confusion.
“Easy there, (Y/n).”, you heard a voice chuckling next to you.
You turned your head and blinked at Draco in confusion, who grinned at you with a smug look on his face.
“Sorry, almost fell asleep.”, you mumbled, your face heating up immediately as you realized that your head had fallen, out of all the possibilities, on Draco´s shoulder.
“Nothing to be sorry about.”, your friend answered, the smile on his face only growing wider. “I´m glad to serve as your pillow. Even though I consider myself quite disappointed that apparently, our company isn´t entertaining enough to keep you awake.”
His snarky remark made you return his smile immediately.
“If you want to put it this way. But you could also argue that it is so soothing that I even feel safe enough to fall asleep.”
“I think I like this version much better, love.”, Draco chuckled.
“But regardless of your comforting company, I think I still prefer my own bed. So have a good night.”
You wanted to stand up, but Draco held you back.
“Are you sure you already want to leave, (Y/n)? You know, I wouldn’t mind functioning as your sleeping place once more.”
You let out a small laugh.
“I bet you don´t. But I feel like my neck wouldn’t benefit from this.”
“Well, if you should change your mind, you know where to find me.”, Draco winked, making the blush return to your face.
“Whatever.”, you huffed, quickly turning away from your friend, hoping he wouldn’t notice your flustered state. “Goodnight y´all.”
“I´ll join you.”, Pansy stated and quickly got up as well. But the mischievous look in her eyes already told you that she wasn’t doing so because she was tired.
And you were right. As soon as the door of the dorm you shared with your friend closed behind you, Pansy crossed her arms in front of her chest and stared at you with narrowed eyes.
At first, you seriously considered ignoring your friend, but soon enough you realized that this strategy wouldn’t get you anywhere. You knew Pansy was rather determined and once she had something on her mind, she wouldn’t rest until she had gotten what she wanted.
You sighed as you let yourself fall onto the bed, looking at Pansy, while tilting your head.
“Alright, what is it?”
You already had a faint suspicion, still, you weren’t willing to give in that easily.
“Are you for real? Isn´t it obvious?”
“Obviously not, so would you care to enlighten me?”
Pansy walked up to you and dropped onto your bed right next to you. With the slyest grin, she looked at you.
“Draco and you?”
“Draco and me what?”, you asked, trying to act the innocent, even though you knew you failed spectacularly.
“Merlin, (Y/n). You could have cut the tension with a knife back in there. For a second, I thought that boy would just take you to his dorm immediately.”
“Pansy!”, you snapped, slapping her arm, but your friend just laughed.
“Tell me I´m wrong and tell me you wouldn’t have gladly joined him.”
“Obviously I wouldn’t.”, you said, but it was a lie and Pansy knew it just as well as you.
You had had a crush on Draco ever since you could remember and ever since you could remember, Pansy teased you about it. At first, you had really tried to deny your feelings for Draco, not only in front of Pansy but also yourself, but there was absolutely no point in lying. Neither to yourself nor to your friend. Pansy knew you like the back of her hand and to her, you were like an open book. She had often encouraged you to try and talk to Draco, assuring you that she was rather sure that he shared the feelings you held for him as well, but until now you had never dared to do so. Still, Pansy had never given up. And neither did she now.
“You could have just stayed and cuddled with him. He even told you he wouldn’t have minded. And you can´t tell me that there´s a single guy out there who would let you do so unless he is all over you.”
“Or unless he´s a good friend.”
“Oh yeah, because you cuddle with Blaise all the time. Or Crabbe. Or Goyle.”
“That´s different. They just ain´t that much into it.”
“But Draco is?”
“Well, obviously.”
“But only with you.”
“That´s not true.”
“So have you ever seen him cuddle with someone else?”
You hesitated for a moment. Because even though you hated to admit – Pansy was somehow right. You really had never seen Draco comfortable with anyone else being near him in that way before. Actually, most of the time, when other people came close to him, he backed up immediately, pulling a face in disgust. But when it was you, he only pulled you closer, from time to time -when no one else was around- actively looking for your closeness, acting so much more relaxed and loosened up, when he held you in his arms. Your relationship was for sure different from the friendships the two of you held with others, but that didn’t mean that there were any romantic feelings involved from his side, did it?
When you didn’t answer, only staring into the void with a faint smile on your lips, Pansy grinned superiorly.
“That´s what I thought.”
“That doesn’t mean anything.”, you brushed her off, hiding your face in your hands.
“Well, if it doesn’t mean anything, you surely won´t mind if I get Draco here so the two of you can continue where you left off.”
You gasped as you looked at your friend, still grinning at you.
“Don’t you dare, Pansy!”
“I´m just saying. I don’t mind sleeping in the common room tonight. And I could send Draco up here and tell him that…”
“You won´t tell him, Pansy. None of this, alright? Never! You have to promise.”
Pansy just rolled her eyes.
“Obviously I won´t. What kind of friend would I be if I couldn’t keep a secret?”
And with that, she definitely had a point.
You slammed your book shut and groaned as you leaned back in your chair. The bushy-haired girl on the opposite side of the table did so as well, only that she was closing the book so carefully that you could have suspected it was a rare and precious relic and not only an old schoolbook.
“This wasn´t that bad after all, was it? We´re already halfway through.”, she spoke up.
You gasped in disbelief.
“Only halfway? I thought we were close to the end. We´ve been sitting on this for hours. I feel like my head is going to explode.”
“Well, you asked me for help because you wanted to do it right. So we will do it right.”
“Whatever.”, you huffed.
“Tomorrow at the same time then?”
“Tomorrow already? Can´t we take a break?”
“The longer we wait the longer it will take us to finish that. So we better be quick. I also got other things to do.”
“Alright then, see you tomorrow.”
You grabbed your books and threw them into your bag carelessly, making the girl in front of you frown.
You were already halfway out of the library when you turned around once more.
“And Granger?”
The girl with the red and golden tie around her neck glanced at you distrustfully. You forced your lips upwards into a small smile, even though you were quite sure it looked rather wry.
“Thanks for your help. I…” You bit your lip, trying to make the words not sound like the worst insult. “I really appreciate that.”
Carefully, the Gryffindor returned your smile.
“You´re welcome.”, she said, before turning to the books in front of her again, closing the one you had just used for your Ancient Runes essay and replacing them with the ones you used for History of Magic.
You shook your head in disbelief as you made your way to your common room. Your eyes already felt heavy and your mind groggy after the hours of work you had put into your one essay. How Granger could now continue to work on yet another one was just incomprehensible to you.
When you had finally reached the door to your common room, every thought about the Gryffindor was however replaced with the ones of a cosy spot in front of the fireplace and the much more pleasant company of your friends who would talk about much more interesting things than why the unicorn presented the number one, the graphorn however presented the number two in the language of the runes.
With a faint smile on your lips, you entered the room, heading for your usual seats. You already spotted your friends sitting there, engaged in a conversation.
You let yourself fall onto the expensive material of the armchair with a heavy sigh, stretching your stiff limbs.
“Sorry it took me so long.”, you stated. “I was sitting on that damn essay until just now. And we haven’t even finished it. Can you imagine this? Hours of work and no results yet. Merlin, this Gryffindor know-it-all all really had me on my toes. But at least it wasn’t as bad as I imagined it. I just hope that in the end all of the work will pay off. I really can´t afford yet another bad grade.”
You placed your feet on the coffee table in front of you and looked at Pansy and Blaise, who were sitting on the couch next to you, expectantly. But instead of some understanding words, you were only met with icy silence. Pansy didn’t even look at you, while Blaise´s glance shifted between you and your friend.
“What? Are you lost for words?”, you chuckled, raising an eyebrow in amusement.
“That´s one way to put it.”, Pansy muttered under her breath, her eyes shooting daggers into your direction.
You narrowed your eyes in confusion as you returned her look. Pansy was a master at daunting other people and making them feel like they had just committed a war crime just by looking at them, but normally, she reserved those glares for the people of other houses, especially the Gryffindors. And if she looked at one of her best friends like you had just drowned some kittens, you must have screwed up something really bad. But for the love of Salazar, you couldn’t figure out what it was. Your gaze shifted to Blaise, silently seeking for help, but the boy just pursed his lips and looked away.
You sighed and sat up straight, returning Pansy´s glare without blinking once.
“Alright, tell me, what is it then?”
Your friend raised an eyebrow mockingly, but there was no actual amusement in her voice as she said: “Really, (Y/n)? You can´t think of anything? You must be down even worse than we thought.”
“Down for what? What are you talking about? Is something wrong?”
“Certainly.”
“For Merlin´s sake, Pansy! Just quit your games and tell me already!”
“Why should I? If you don’t get it yourself, I´m afraid we can´t help you anymore.”
You groaned in resignation. You wouldn’t be able to get out of her what you wanted to know like this. Pansy had closed up completely and it looked like she wouldn’t open up that easy again. And you knew for sure that trying to get something out of Blaise was impossible in almost every state. Yet you took a deep breath and forced yourself to smile sweetly at Pansy.
“Alright, I see where this is going. So what does my best friend in the whole wide world wants me to do for her so she will finally tell me what I did to upset her today?”
Pansy crossed her arms in front of her chest, still glaring at you.
“Well, I can´t tell you, because by best friend you obviously can´t be referring to me.”
Your face fell.
“What?”
Your roommate smiled at you so calmly as if she hadn’t just given you evil tidings.
“I think you heard me correctly, (Y/l/n).”
Even though the fireplace was still lit up, the fire inside burning brightly, you felt the temperature dropping by a few degrees at her words.
“Quit the show, Pansy. Either tell me what´s wrong now or stop behaving like this, this really isn’t funny.” You heard your voice shaking.
Pansy stood up from her place, walking up to you slowly, before she came to a halt right in front of you, towering over you. To her right and left you could see some people shooting you some curious glances.
“You´re right, (Y/l/n), this really isn’t funny at all. All of those years I shared my room with some filthy bloodtraitor who brought so much shame to the entire house of Slytherin.”
By now, you were absolutely sure that whatever this was about, the situation was certainly serious. Because Pansy knew better than anyone else that this insult wasn’t something to make fun of. Bloodtraitors were the worst witches and wizards to ever exist, in your opinion, willingly abandoning their rights and obligations and betraying the people closest to them, disgracing their entire bloodline. You tensed in your armchair, straightening your back as you glared up at your friend.
“What did you just say?”, you asked, still hoping that you had just misheard what Pansy had said. Your voice was dangerously low because even though it was your best friend standing right in front of you, you couldn’t guarantee that you wouldn’t hex her nastily if she would repeat what she had just said.
But Pansy didn’t seem to be impressed because she looked you dead in the eyes and said: “Do you really want me to repeat that, (Y/l/n)? Isn´t all of that already embarrassing enough for you?”
“Alright, Pansy, tell me who knotted your wand or quit the bullshit and leave me alone.”
The girl let out a humourless laugh.
“I certainly won´t leave. But I will gladly help you pack your things if you want to.”
“Why should I? This is my home just as it is yours.”
“Not anymore. You lost your privilege of calling this place home the second you got involved with that filthy mudblood.”
Now you couldn’t help but laugh yourself.
“Hold on, that´s what this is about? That I work on that essay with a Gryffindor?”
“A Gryffindor, a friend of Potter and a mudblood.”, Pansy spat out.
You shrugged your shoulders.
“So? It´s not the first time we use others to get us some good grades, is it? And if I remember it correctly you even encouraged me to do so, because you couldn’t help me.”
That was true indeed. When you had a good cry on Pansy´s shoulder about how you didn’t know how you would pass the class, she had actually told you that you should just ask the person who was on top of the class for help, since none of your friends had taken the class this year and you were on the edge of a breakdown. And the person who was the best in your class happened to be Hermione Granger. And when you had realized that there was no way of talking her into doing your work for you, you had grudgingly agreed to partner up with her for the class, something neither you nor the Gryffindor had exactly been looking forward to, but your teacher had however been delighted about. And now Pansy actually wanted to blame you for taking her advice?
“I told you to look for someone to do your work, not to become best friends with.”
“What do you think we were doing? We were studying, Pansy. Not braiding each other’s hair.”
“Yes, you were studying. And you talked with her. And smiled at her. And in the end, you even thanked her. Millicent has told me all about it.”, Pansy snapped.
Your gaze fell on the said girl, who was sitting in a chair not far away, her arms crossed in front of her chest, as she looked at you disapprovingly, thrusting her jutting jaw forward.
“So am I supposed to keep a straight face for hours, showing everyone how much I hate studying with that girl and in the end not even thanking her for helping me out, even though I still need her?”, you asked in disbelief.
Pansy just shrugged her shoulders.
“Ain´t that hard, is it?”
“Pansy, you know I need a good grade in that essay or I´ll fail that class.”
“So?”
“So? I need this class. I need those grades. I´m really sorry if you don’t like that, but right now I need to set my priorities and they certainly aren’t keeping you content with me all the time.”
“So you choose your work with a mudblood over your friends? Your family?”
“No, Pansy. I choose a good degree over your personal vendetta.”, you answered, before you stood up, now being face to face with the girl you had always thought had been your friend. “Tell me when you can think straight again, but until then just leave me alone. I really can´t deal with that childish behaviour right now.”
You wanted to pass her, but Pansy stepped in your way.
“You might consider this childish, (Y/l/n), but I´m just loyal to my house. Something that you don’t seem to care about anymore.”
“How dare you call me out like this?”, you responded, raising your voice. “I am just as loyal to this house as everyone else in here. Salazar, you know I wouldn’t be a Slytherin if I wouldn’t be.”
“Seems like even the sorting head can be wrong from time to time.”, Pansy scoffed, looking at you in disgust. Then she stepped to the side, finally paving the way. “And now get out of here, we don’t want to see you in here ever again.”
You raised an eyebrow.
“Oh, so you´re talking for everyone now?”, you mocked, convinced that the others wouldn’t share Pansy´s opinion, but as you looked around, your confidence was crushed rather quickly.
The entire common room had witnessed Pansy´s and your conversation and everyone seemed to have a clear opinion about what had happened. But not in the way you had hoped. You could see the disappointment and disgust in the eyes of the people you had shared the biggest part of your life with over the past few years, noticed how they shook their heads in disapproval, crossing their arms in front of their chests as if they wanted to build a barrier between you and the people you had considered your family. Lastly, your gaze settled on Blaise, who was still sitting on one of the couches, his face showing no emotion.
“Oh, c´mon, you all can´t be serious, can you?”, you asked, trying to force yourself to smile, but failed terribly.
“You know the rules, (Y/n).”, Blaise spoke up, his voice sounding almost bored, even though he knew very well that his words would shatter your heart. “No encounters with mudbloods. No encounters with Gryffindors. No encounters with people who threaten our world. And you did all of these things.”
By now you could feel tears pricking in your eyes, but you blinked quickly to prevent them from falling.
“You should really leave now.”, Pansy hissed, the grin on her face making you suspect that she enjoyed this situation way too much. And it broke your heart that she did so.
“Come back when you remember where you belong.”, Blaise added.
“That´s not on you to decide. You can´t just kick me out.”, you rejected.
“Well, it doesn’t look like anyone minds, does it?”, Pansy responded.
And when your gaze flickered through the room once more, you hated the fact that you had to agree with Pansy. Right now, no one seemed to be on your side. You had done nothing wrong, yet they all treated you like a leper.
“But Draco. Draco isn’t here. You can´t decide this without him.”, you started one last weak attempt, not only clutching at straws that Draco would understand your situation and support you, but also knowing that every Slytherin respected the boy and wouldn’t dare to speak up against him.
But while you saw some people looking rather uncertain at the mention of the Malfoy heir, Pansy just giggled maliciously.
“That´s just so sweet, (Y/l/n). You really think Draco is going to save you?” Her voice was dripping from fake petty. “You really think that he isn´t going to be disgusted when he finds out that you encounter the enemy? Out of all the people you think that Draco will understand your friendship with a mudblood who is also Potter´s filthy girlfriend?”
“She isn’t….”, you tried to contradict, but Pansy continued unbothered.
“You really think that he won´t hate you just as much as we all do by now. That he won´t hold your betrayal against you?” She giggled again. “You know, I will almost feel sorry for you when Draco finds out, you know that? It´s really going to break your little heart when he abandons you as well. It´s quite the opposite of what you were hoping for, isn’t it?”
You felt your heart in your mouth. You knew that all of this was just a big misunderstanding. You weren’t quite sure yet whether Pansy intentionally hurt you or if she actually thought that you had betrayed your house the way she had portrayed it, but you knew that even after everything she had said, you still loved her. She was still a part of your family and you just knew that you would be able to forgive her her cruel words one day when she would realize the mistake she had made and would beg you for forgiveness. But if she would actually reveal what you were really feeling for Draco, now that the entire house of Slytherin was listening, you knew that your trust in her would be damaged lastingly.
Your eyes were locked with Pansy´s, silently pleading to not say something that she couldn’t take back, but Pansy´s glare wasn’t affected by it. She returned your gaze without blinking once when she said -loud enough for everyone to hear-: “Merlin, (Y/l/n). You had a crush on this boy ever since the first day and now you´re throwing it all away for some stupid mudblood. That´s really pathetic.”
The room around you started to spin, slowly at first and then faster and faster, when the buzzing in your ears mixed with the whispering and laughter of the people around you. All you wanted to do was to break down right away, run to your dorm, lock the doors and never get out again, but when you saw Pansy grinning at you, apparently enjoying the effect her words had had on the room, you knew that you wouldn’t give her the satisfaction.
And when you spoke up again, you were pleasantly surprised by how calm your voice sounded, when you said: “You know what, Pansy? Even if this was true, it wouldn’t be half as pathetic as throwing away a friendship over some stupid rumours and not even listening to the person you have always called your best friend.” You waited a moment until the echo of your words had vanished in the room that had fallen quiet again, eager to listen to what you had to say, before you took a deep breath and added: “And about your question what kind of friend you would be if you aren’t able to keep a secret; the answer is you ain´t one at all.”
Just for a second, you thought you could see some regret shimmering in Pansy´s eyes, but you didn’t look at her long enough to be sure of it. You just walked past her, ignoring the glances of the people around you, as you tried to prevent your legs from giving in, at least until you would be out of sight for the people that had until this very day had meant the most to you.
But while you were rather proud of yourself for not letting your guard down while you had still been in the common room, the moment the door had closed behind you, the tears had started to fall and until now they hadn’t stopped yet. Ever since you had walked away from the common room almost half an hour ago, you had wandered around the castle aimlessly. It was sheer luck that you hadn’t crossed ways with some other students or -even more likely since it was almost curfew- any of the professors or Filch. You had absolutely no idea where you were going or how you would explain to anyone why you were still out, with puffy eyes and looking like an absolute mess. All you knew was that you certainly wouldn’t go back to your dorm tonight. Maybe if you would go to the Hospital Wing, Madame Pomfrey would allow you to stay the night if you would claim to feel sick or have a bad headache. You knew that Madame Pomfrey wasn’t easy to get fooled but given your pathetic appearance you were quite sure that she wouldn’t ask too many questions. And how you would continue from that point on, you could still think about tomorrow.
For now, there was a much more important question occupying your mind. After the entire common room had heard what Pansy had blurted out about your feelings for Draco, you were absolutely sure, that the latest by tomorrow, the entire school would know. If you were honest, you didn’t actually care about your stupid classmates gossiping about how (Y/n) (Y/l/n) was hopelessly in love with Draco Malfoy, you knew that these kinds of rumours had spread across the castle´s grounds rather often already, but what you did care about was what Draco would think about it if someone would tell him in every small detail - and probably some rather subjective interpretation - about the entire situation and Pansy´s words.
After Pansy had exposed you like this in front of everyone and didn’t even seem to be sorry about it at all, you had already kind of accepted that you had lost your best friend – probably forever- but after everything she had said tonight, you weren´t even as sad about it as you thought you should be. Pansy had made her decision. She had decided to believe some stupid rumours without even questioning them, had decided to let her pride and her prejudices ruin one of the longest and closest relationships both of you had ever had. This was on her. Not on you. But with Draco, it was different.
Not only because you loved the boy in a way so different from everything you had ever felt before, but also because Draco would – the moment he would walk into the common room – be assailed with narratives of all the people he trusted the most and who had already formed an opinion about what had happened. And an opinion about you. And you were rather sure that most of them wouldn’t be exactly well for you.
At the mere thought of what Draco was thinking about you maybe at this very moment, if he had by now already entered the common room and heard all those nasty things about you, you felt the tears welling up in you all over again. Draco would be so disgusted by you. Maybe he would even hate you. But the worst thought about this was that he was probably disappointed in you. You could vividly imagine how the blond boy was sitting in his usual armchair, staring into the fireplace, while Pansy would tell him how you had betrayed them all. How you had betrayed him. And when Pansy would be finished, Draco would look at Blaise, hoping he would contradict, but Blaise would just shrug his shoulders and say something like: “I know, man, we all didn’t expect it. But Millicent saw them in the library. And Montague as well.” And then Draco would shake his head and let out a sigh, wondering how he could have ever been fooled by you like that. And the next time you would see him, his gaze wouldn’t be full of affection but would be cold, maybe even indifferent. And he would walk towards you, but instead of coming to a halt in front of you, he would just walk past you, probably giving you a small nod and say: “(Y/l/n)”. And then he would punish you with his neglect, knowing that this would be the worst thing that he could ever do to you.
Your vision was blurry, and your hands were shaking when you turned around the next corner, still not knowing where to go. But your walk was curbed rather harshly when suddenly, you bumped into someone.
“Easy there, (Y/n).”, you heard a deep voice chuckling.
And it was the same voice you had just played in your head over and over again. Only that now that he was actually standing in front of you, Draco´s voice didn’t sound as cold as you had imagined it but was as warm and affectionate as you were used to it. And when you glanced up at the tall Slytherin through the haze of your tears, you could see him smiling down at you without hesitation. You gulped heavily. Probably, Draco hadn’t met any fellow Slytherins yet who had told him what had happened back in the common room. This was the only explanation for why he kept so calm around you.
“I was already looking for you, love.”, Draco continued. He brushed some strands of hair out of your face, his smile unfazed.
For a moment you felt some irritation welling up in you. Why was he looking for you? Did he already know after all? But if he did, why was he still so gentle around you? But either way; why was he smiling at you while you were obviously upset, with tears still running down your face? Did he already hate you so much that he enjoyed seeing you like this?
But all those thoughts were pushed back because you forced yourself to savour every moment, he would still be nice to you. With all your willpower, you tried to imprint the softness in his eyes and the way his voice sounded when he called you by his favourite nickname for you into your mind, in case it would be the last time.
Draco however didn’t show any intention of pushing you away anytime soon. Instead, he pulled you to one on the windowsills, hidden behind one of the permeable walls of the castle, where you were shielded from curious glances. When the boy took your hand into his bigger one, you followed him without hesitation, until he sat down on the sill and signified you to do the same.
Draco just stared at you, his face showing no emotion, when you sniffled quietly, trying to wipe away the tears, still burning in your eyes. Only when you had finally given up trying to fix the mess the tears had done to your face, the Slytherin finally cleared his throat.
“So, do you want to tell me what happened?”
“You don’t really want to tell me you don’t know yet, do you?”, you responded. You didn’t intend your voice to sound that bitter, but you were just too exhausted to try and hide it.
Draco shrugged his shoulders.
“I heard quite a few things tonight. But I want to hear it from you as well.”
You let out a small laugh.
“Well, you´re the first one.”
You didn’t know why now that you finally had a chance to explain yourself, you got as defiant as you did now. But when you glanced at Draco, he just looked at you, not seeming to hold your words against you and waiting patiently for you to explain yourself. And at that moment you suddenly knew that you just had to take this chance. Obviously, you couldn’t be certain how Draco would think about the entire story, but for some reason, you just knew that the bond between the two of you was way too strong to be destroyed by all the things that had happened today. Draco and you had always sticked together. And that wouldn’t change today.
The moment you came to that realization, the words started to tumble over your lips. With every word you spoke, the pressure that had been put on you was falling off more and more. And Draco listened patiently to everything. From your fear of failing the class, to how you may or may not had been a bit friendlier to Granger than you had been supposed to and finally how everyone was holding exactly that now against you, even -or more precisely especially- Pansy, who had not only broken with you but had also said some things you had told her in confidence. That however was the only point where you left out some details. Even though you strongly suspected that some idiot had already told Draco how you were actually feeling for him, after all the time you had been keeping it from your friend, you just couldn’t bring yourself to say those words out loud in front of him.
When you had come to the end of your report, the tears, that over time had almost dried, came back in full force.
“I just don’t get it.”, you sniffled. “She is – she was my best friend. And now I don’t even know if any of this has ever been real. I mean if it would have been, she wouldn’t have done this to me, would she? Salazar, Pansy hates me so much, Draco. The entire house does now. Everyone does.”
Your voice broke down and you lowered your head when yet some other tears were making their way down your cheeks.
Until now, Draco had quietly sat on the windowsill, looking at you with narrowed eyes the entire time, his eyes not leaving your face for once. But now that you had fallen silent, he quickly stood up, and with one large step, he was standing in front of you, grabbing your hands to make you get up as well, before pulling you into a tight embrace. You buried your face in the crook of his neck as he wrapped his arms around you, holding you as close as humanly possible.
“I don’t hate you, (Y/n).”, he mumbled into your hair. His voice was low and you could feel the vibration of the words in his chest, making you shiver. “I don’t hate you and I never could. And if the others actually think like that, they´re all idiots. Merlin, forget it. They´re idiots anyway. You´ve done nothing wrong, love. Trust me, this isn’t on you.”
“But why does it feel like it is?”
“Because everyone has told you it is. And now you start to believe it yourself. But I´m here to tell you that you´re not.”
“How can you be so sure of that?”
“I know you, (Y/n). Salazar, you´re one of the best people I´ve ever met. All you did was ask for help.”
“Exactly, I showed weakness. In front of a mudblood.”
“Sometimes you can bend the rules a bit, love. You did it because you had to. There´s nothing wrong with that.”
You couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle and felt yourself relax into Draco´s arms a bit.
“Says you.”, you mumbled.
“Exactly. And if even I can say that, then it has to be true, doesn’t it?”
You were pretty sure that under every different circumstance and with every different person, Draco would have probably given them hell for even talking to someone like Granger at all, let alone working with her. But maybe this was the reason his words calmed you down even more. The Slytherin was willing to go against those values he believed in so strictly just to cheer you up. And it worked better than you would have guessed.
Draco and you stayed in the embrace for a couple more minutes, until even the last tears had dried up and most of the tension had left your body. And even though you now felt just exhausted and would have done anything for him to keep on holding you like this for just a bit longer, you pulled back slightly, until you were able to look Draco in the eyes again. When his eyes met yours, he smiled softly, holding a tenderness in his eyes you had never seen in him before.
“Thank you.”, you said. Your voice sounded slightly raspy.
The smile on Draco´s face only widened.
“There´s nothing to thank me for, love.”
“No, for real, Draco. I… I felt really shitty about all of this but now I feel… like maybe there is a way to work it all out.”
“And if there isn’t one, we´re going to make one.”
You looked at him hopefully.
“We?”
“Of course. We´re in this together, don’t you think?”
“Why?”
“Purely selfish reasons.”, Draco smirked. “I want to see that pretty smile of yours again as soon as possible.”
You couldn’t help your lips twitching up at his words, making Draco grin smugly.
“See, my life would be a lot worse without this.”
You nudged him.
“Oh, just shut up!”
“Why? It´s the truth.”
You let out a small giggle before you grew serious again. Because with all the affection Draco was showing you now, you were reminded of another certain detail, one you would rather forget but you knew that it was probably for the best if you would bring it up before anyone else would.
“Draco?”
“Yes, love?”
“You… you said you heard a few things about what happened back in the common room before you came looking for me.”
Draco nodded, now looking a bit grimmer again, as he remembered all the nasty things he had never imagined anyone could ever think - let alone speak out loud - about you.
“And did you… did they… I mean, have you also heard something about you. About us I mean. Not that there is much to say, but I just… I don’t know… Pansy said a few things earlier and I just want to make sure that this… I just don’t want you to get something wrong about it.”
Draco nodded again, his eyes never leaving yours, as he brushed some strands of hair out of your face, letting his fingertips ghosting over your cheek, making you shiver.
“We don’t have to talk about this now, (Y/n). There´s pretty much been going on tonight and if you´re not ready for this now…”
“No! No, it´s alright. Just… What did you hear?” Even though you were scared of what would happen next, even though you were scared that you might lose the last person who you were still meaning something to by this as well, you knew that none of these things would get any better if you waited any longer or would just ignore it. “If you want to tell me of course.”, you added quickly, as you noticed the indecisiveness in Draco´s eyes.
“Well, a few people came up to me and told me that… Apparently, you told Pansy that…” Draco shook his head and took a deep breath. “No, you know what, it doesn’t matter what she said. What any of them said. This… should be about us.”
You just nodded, your eyes flickering anywhere but meeting Draco´s, until suddenly you felt a hand under your chin, gently forcing you to look up at the blond boy again, who was looking at you intensively.
“(Y/n), do you have a thing for me?”
You gulped heavily at the straightforwardness of his question. There was not much to beat around the bush, so you just nodded. The nod looked a bit rigid, also given to the fact that his hand was still placed at your chin, but it was unmistakably a nod.
Your head was running wild, imagining all the things that could go wrong about this, from Draco feeling betrayed by you, to taking back everything he had said within the last minutes, but none of those things happened. Instead, a small grin appeared on the boy´s face again, spreading more and more with every second passing.
“Then you might want to know that I have a thing for you as well, love.”, he said in a husky voice, sounding as if the confession had almost knocked the air out of his lungs as much as it did to you.
You blinked at the boy in confusion, having to take a moment to let his words sink in.
“You… you also…”, you stammered when you had finally found your voice again.
Draco nodded.
“One could say I am stupidly in love with you, as some of these people have expressed so elegantly. So yes, I also.”
You looked at the Slytherin with widened eyes, feeling a warmth flushing through your entire body, you had never felt before.
“Are you going to let me kiss you now, or what?”, Draco chuckled, when he saw the still perplexed look on your face.
Still too stunned to speak, you just nodded.
And when Draco finally gently pressed his lips on yours, you couldn’t quite remember anymore why you had thought that this day would end so miserably in the first place. All that you could think of at this moment were Draco´s lips on yours and his hand wandering from your chin to your cheek, cupping it, before continuing its way to the back of your head to pull you even closer to him, while his other hand sneaked around your waist, striving the same. He never loosened his grip once, only trying to pull you even closer than before, his touch comforting you, reminding you that you were anything but alone in this world. Because Draco would stay with you, no matter which challenges you would have to meet in the future and with him by your side you were positive that you would master them effortlessly.
Only when your lips were swollen and your lungs burning, you finally pulled back slightly, still his arms stayed where they were, not wanting to lose the feeling of closeness completely.
“We should probably get back soon.”, Draco mumbled. His lips brushed against yours as they moved. “It´s already after curfew and you need to get some sleep. This was a long day.”
Unwillingly, you tensed under his touch as you shook your head.
“I can´t go back there. How am I supposed to sleep in a dorm with her after everything that happened? After everything she said?”
“Well, at least some of it turned out to have a positive outcome after all, didn’t it?”, Draco responded, pecking your lips, but he quickly grew more serious again when he saw you shooting him a deadly glare. He sighed. “Alright, love. Maybe I got a different idea.”
You raised an eyebrow, looking at him questioningly as Draco smirked at you.
“What if I told you,”, he said, as his thumb brushed over your lips tenderly, “that there is a place that will make all your dreams come true and I can promise that Pansy won´t be nowhere in sight?”
You gasped and slapped him against his chest lightly.
“Draco Malfoy, if you´re suggesting I´ll get back with you to your dorm, let me tell you that I certainly won´t…”
“Even though this idea sounds more than tempting”, Draco interrupted you, “that isn’t what I have in mind. I mean a room that will literally shape into everything that you are wishing for. And I´m sure, a cosy bed won´t be an exception. And tomorrow morning, I´ll get you your school supplies and after class, we´ll think about how we´re going to go on, alright?”
You looked at the boy in front of you with narrowed eyes, but at this point, you were actually too exhausted to argue and Draco´s idea actually sounded just way too good to question it. So you just nodded.
Draco grinned at you smugly, as he took a step back, letting go of you, before his hand found yours, intertwining your fingers.
“Follow me then, my love. I promise you won´t be disappointed.”
You returned his smile without hesitation.
“As if you ever could disappoint me.”
“Obviously. As long as we´re together, everything will turn out just fine.”
And when you followed Draco, you just somehow felt that he was right. One way or another, everything would work out. You were sure of that.

i. five months and twelve days after the accident
Draco opens his eyes in panic, breathing labored and loud. He’s scared and confused, and he would be downright spiraling into an anxiety attack if this wasn’t such a common occurrence.
(The first night it’d happened he found himself unable to breath. He’d desperately stumbled out of bed, the haziness of sleep making everything distorted and disorienting. He’d hit his knee against the door, he’d bled on the white tiles of their bathroom floor. He’d spent two hours in the shower that night, fully clothed. The coldness of the water hadn’t been enough to soothe the burning heartbreak that gnaw on his soul, but it’d been enough to anchor him back.)
It takes him a moment to realize he’s frozen mid-action, one of his hands reaching forward and his fingers slightly curved, as if they’d been grasping something.
No. Not something. Someone.
Suddenly everything comes back, jumbled pieces of a half-remembered dream.
Her smile, the small crinkle by her eyes, the warmth of her skin under his fingertips.
Draco chokes out a gasp.
He can’t breathe. He can’t breathe. He can’t breathe.
In desperation he reaches for his own throat and grips it tightly, just firmly enough to feel the thumping of his blood under his palm. The unsteady pulse tethers him to reality, reminds him that he’s still alive, helps him settle enough for air to fill his lungs.
He chokes out a gasp, coughs roughly.
Instinctively, almost as an afterthought, Draco reaches for her side of the bed only to immediately reel his hand back when he’s met with cold, unused sheets. It’s been months and he still doesn’t dare to sleep on her side, still keeps everything of hers untouched— her blue toothbrush by the sink, her favorite slippers, the book she left on the coffee table. He knows preserving her things won't bring her back, he does it anyways.
Draco sighs and the sound reverberates, taunts him. It’s a reminder that he’s all alone, a reminder that a room once filled with soft snores and gentle laughter is now quiet enough for him to hear the pounding of his own heart, a reminder that over the last couple of months everything around him has been slowly filling itself with grief and sadness and pain and regret.
No wonder Draco can’t sleep, he’s suffocating.
He presses the heels of his hands to his eyes, hard enough to have dotted spots of light fill his vision, firmly enough to keep the tears at bay. If he concentrates, he can still see the outline of the face he’d been dreaming about.
(Her, her, her. Always her.)
Once his heart settles and he can breathe properly, Draco reaches for the little vial by the bed. It’s already half empty. Without a second thought Draco downs the remaining liquid before tossing the glass aside, ignoring the way it smashes against the floor. He forces himself to lay still, wills his eyes to remain shut. He lulls himself back to sleep, lets the potion bring him under.
(It does not matter that waking up will feel like his soul is being carved out and his heart ripped out of his chest, that he cannot handle coming back to a reality where she’s gone. If dreams are the only place he can be with her, he’ll dream.)
The last thing he remembers before losing consciousness is turning to his side and hugging himself close; a poor attempt at replicating the safety her arms once provided.
ii. two weeks and six days after the accident
Narcissa Malfoy arrives through Floo Network on a Saturday morning. She turns up without a warning, completely uninvited, and makes herself at home. Draco reckons it’s partially his fault, after leaving the magical world he’d been the one that had insisted they connect their home to the Floo Network, for precaution. He’d never shared their location with his parents, but he isn’t surprised his mother had been able to easily locate him. She is a Malfoy, thoroughly resourceful.
She doesn’t hug him, neither does she make any attempt to offer words of condolences. Draco wasn’t expecting them, they’re Malfoys, after all; kind touches are scarce, gentle words even more so, but it still stings, like alcohol burning over a wrongly healed scab. His mother gives him a dismissive look, one that has Draco shrinking into himself.
“This is unacceptable,” is the first thing she says, voice as firm as the last time they spoke to each other, almost eight years ago. Draco can’t help the way he flinches. He doesn’t know if she’s talking about the state he’s in— because he's in disarray, hasn’t showered in three days, hasn’t changed clothes in even longer— or the mess around the house.
She steps closer, scrunches her nose and looks him over with something akin to disgust, then clicks her tongue in distaste.
“Go shower.”
Draco finds his feet moving before he can even process the instruction.
(It’s rattling, having her here after not seeing her for years. It’s also frightening how quickly he goes back to obeying her every order.)
As he showers Draco tries to shake himself out of the whirlwind of emotions that his mother’s presence has unleashed. It’s hard to do so when his mind feels as if it’s been split in half; one part mourning the loss of his wife and the other still expecting her to come home. He’s struggling to grasp his reality, trying to ignore the ever-growing emptiness in his chest. Draco closes his eyes and sighs deeply, he lets the cold water numb his skin, lets it steel him just enough to face his mother.
He thinks he’s handling himself better when he walks into the kitchen— new clothes on his skin and hair still wet —but then he catches his mother’s house-elf reaching for (Y/N)’s dirty wine glass, the one she left half empty when she walked out that night, and Draco loses it.
It’s been years since he’s used magic, but it’s instinctive the way he reaches for his wand. (He never did get rid of the habit of carrying it with him everywhere.) He points it at the creature, hand shaking, but voice surprisingly stern, “Do not touch her things.”
His vision blackens at the corners, blood rushing through his ears. He can’t let them erase the traces of her in their home. He can’t. He can't. Not right now, not when he sees pieces of her everywhere, not when his heart has an open wound that keeps on bleeding and Draco hopes he could just wake up from this hellish nightmare and go back to a place where she's still here, where she's still alive.
“Now, don’t be childish, Draco.” It isn’t until his mother speaks that he realizes that he’s been mumbling under his breath, loud enough for her to hear. His vision clears, the hazy feeling in his brain diminishes. He blinks back into reality, catches a glimpse of his mother’s impassive face from the corner of his eye, realizes the house-elf has backed away from the glass and is now bowing to him, limbs trembling in fear and nose almost touching the floor.
He lowers the wand slowly, almost mechanically, as he turns to his mother.
“You will not touch her things.”
She clicks her tongue. The sound makes him flinch away— because it always came before a slap in the wrist, or his ear being pulled tight — but he somehow manages to hold his ground, wand still held tightly, fingers becoming numb.
“You’re living in a dumpster, look at all the mess,” she gestures around the room with revulsion.  Draco can’t see anything but residue of love around the house. It’s everywhere, in the doodled notes left on the fridge and the bottle of wine they never got to finish. He won’t let them take that away from him, take her away from him. Not yet. Not with his heart is still bleeding and missing and yearning.
“No touching,” he repeats himself. His voice doesn’t waver in the slightest, it sounds steadier than he feels, and there must be something in his semblance because his mother relents.
It’s with distaste that she spits out, “Fine, have it your way,” and sends the house-elf back home.
She doesn’t leave, however. She takes over the kitchen, the smell of sugar and cinnamon filling the air— and that’s how Draco knows she’s truly stressed, because his mother only ever bakes when she feels as if she’s losing control of the situation at hand and money can’t fix it. Draco swallows down the pastries when they’re placed in front of him and he’s given a pointed look. (He pretends they aren’t insipid; pretends they don’t feel like ash going down his throat. He doesn’t tell his mother that his appetite is mostly gone, that eating feels like an arduous task, that these days he throws up just about anything he eats. He doesn’t have the energy to do so, he reckons she wouldn’t care, anyways.)
Draco chews and chews and chews until it becomes a mechanical habit and then he disconnects his brain. He ignores the way the buttery, sweet smell that lingers around the house reminds him of the apple pie (Y/N) used to bake, he blinks away the tears when a little voice in the back of his head reminds him that he won’t ever get to taste it again.
His mother lingers in the background— just like she’d done when he’d been a child and she’d wanted to see how much he’d progressed on his French after a two-hour tutoring session, ready to make vile comments about his accent and his grammar —and Draco can’t do anything without hearing an offhanded mumble about how pathetic he’s being. Her lingering used to petrify him, it made him want to be perfect for her, but now it just irks him. Draco wants to yell at her to leave him the fuck alone, but his anger is feeble, and grief smothers the fire before it turns into rage. The words remain stuck at the back of his throat.
Sometimes, when the sorrow eases and Draco is lucid enough to pay attention, he catches the glimpses of annoyance in his mother’s eyes. He knows that the only reason she’s here is to play damage control, to make sure he doesn’t derail too far and tarnish their last name even further. (The reputation of the Malfoy family had taken a hard hit after the Second Wizarding War when his father had been declared guilty and sent to Azkaban. It’d only worsened when Draco failed to fulfill his responsibilities of stepping up as patriarch in his father’s absence, instead deciding to elope and disappear to the muggle world.) Draco also knows that his mother wishes for simple solutions, she expects to place a bandaid over his ruptured soul and have him immediately snap back to his younger self. That won’t ever happen— Draco won’t ever go back to who he used to be before meeting his wife, before discovering love and warmth and safety —and her slowly rising frustration is a sign that she’s beginning to realize that.
In the end it’s his inability to get out of bed that gets her to snap.
“I’ve had enough.”
Draco blinks up at her.
Today is a bad day, the kind of day where breathing hurts and the feeling of his heart pumping is just a reminder that he’s alive and she’s not, the kind of day where he feels as if he’s underwater and slowly drowning.
He sees her mouth moving, hears the distorted words she’s saying, but can’t engage. It’s like he’s watching her through a screen, witnessing a scene far removed from him.
“I’m done letting you play your childish games. I’ve been lenient enough.” Her irritation is palpable, but Draco can’t process it.
He’s sinking and sinking and sinking.
“Get up.”
Why is she yelling?
“Get up, Draco.”
He can’t.
“Unbelievable.” And now she’s grabbing the end of the sheets and pulling them off the bed. Draco can’t bring himself to care. He can’t bring himself to even lift a finger. It angers her. He might be slipping away, but he sees it in the way her mouth tightens into an ugly sneer. Instinctively, he prepares himself for the harshness that always accompanies that look.
“She was just a silly little girl, Draco.”
The words cut sharply through the water and the grief and the pain. Suddenly Draco isn’t sinking anymore, suddenly it’s like he’s been zapped with an electrical wire. The numbness is pushed to the back of his mind and replaced with something darker, something ugly.
His mother doesn’t stop there.
“I thought letting you have your fun would be enough. I thought you would grow tired of her.” And now his brain is functioning properly and the words are making sense and Draco can’t help the way his brows pull up in confusion. His mother notices, of course she does, and she lets out a mocking laugh, one that has Draco’s blood turning cold.
“What? You think you ran away and got married behind our backs?” she scoffs, arms crossing over her chest. “I knew all along, child. I let you run around and play out your foolish little fantasy of love. See how that turned out.”
Draco can’t breathe. There's pressure in his chest, tightening and contracting. Anger begins to ignite; it goes from a fleck to a small flame.
“It’s over, Draco. You’re coming home.”
He shakes his head, manages to find the strength to sit up. It’s the first time he’s moved in hours and his muscles protest.
“I am home.”
That makes her snort, a mixture of disgust and insulting laughter.
“This place?” His mother looks around in disgust. “This isn’t your home.”
She clicks her tongue.
“And that dumb girl? She’s dead,” she scoffs and under her breath adds, “and thank Salazar for that, all that mudblood ever did was stain our name.”
Anger takes over, the flame becomes a blazing inferno, scorching everything around, it runs hot through his veins until all that is left is unrestrained, seething rage. It’s the first time it’s burning enough to destroy.
And Salazar does Draco want to consume everything around him.
“Never talk about my wife that way again.”
The words come out strong for a voice that hasn’t been used in hours.
He doesn’t know when he moves but now he’s towering over her and his hands are shaking by his side.
Silly little girl.
Mudblood.
To dare use those words to describe the love of his life, someone who could light up a room with a single smile and could fix all troubles with a few kind words, makes Draco enraged.
Draco looks at his mother and he just wants her to hurt.
“You don’t know the first thing about love, so who are you to come preach about it, mother.” He spits the words with disgust, uses a tone he knows will sting.
He’s never talked back to her, ever, and her shock is evident in the way she gapes at him with disbelief.
“I won’t have you speaking to me in such—”
“Get the fuck out.”
Draco has never cursed at her before. He’s never interrupted her, either. His mother looks like she’s been slapped, like she doesn’t recognize the person standing in front of her.
“Draco—”
“Out.”
She looks him over one last time, something akin to disappointment in her eyes, before jutting her chin and slamming the door on her way out.
With a sigh, Draco walks back to bed and curls into himself. It doesn’t take long for the anger to evaporate and for him to slip back into despair, to sink and sink and drown.
Numb. Numb. Numb.
Hours, or maybe just minutes, later she comes back. Her tone has been schooled back into the indifferent one Draco is more than accustomed to. She tells him that she’s leaving because of his father, that ever since being released from Azkaban he hasn’t been coping well and she must return home to ensure his health. Draco doesn’t call her out on her bullshit, doesn’t even turn around to face her, he just hums.
Numb. Numb. Numb.
His mother doesn’t come back.
iii. five days after the accident
It feels like floating through a dream, everything hazy and limbs lethargic. He goes through the motions out of pure muscle memory, mind disconnected and hidden somewhere far away. It’s like an outer body experience, as if he's watching himself move and talk without having any true control over it. He hurts so deeply, and the pain is so raw that Draco pushes it away and stores it in a dark place in the corner of his mind, a place where it can’t kill him. He takes all other emotions, too, until nothing but numbness is left behind.
Reality doesn’t seem real, because how can the world keep moving and the sun rising and the birds chirping if she’s gone. How can his heart keep beating if hers doesn’t?
The muggles at work worry about him, even with his mind clouded by grief he can tell. Mrs. Bailey, the kind older lady for who he works by serving tables and mopping floors, hugs him tightly when he walks into the cafe shop less than a week after the accident. She doesn’t say a thing about him missing work, but rather pulls him close, shushing him gently and running a hand through his hair. It's a motherly act Draco is unfamiliar with. Her eyes show so much sympathy, but Draco doesn’t let himself think too much about that because that might end up causing him to spiral, and he won't allow himself to slip (he can't let himself slip, last time he slipped he spent hours in the bathroom floor, pulling at his hair to try to ground himself back to reality, biting down on his lip and bleeding).
Her hug should provide some sort of comfort, but Draco can't feel a thing. That should make him sad, and maybe it does, but all emotions are muted, and he doesn't even try to understand them.
His coworkers are also gentle with him, so much so that if he were in his right mind Draco would find it annoying, but he allows it because he feels as if a single wrong touch might break him apart beyond repair.
They try to reach out to him, too, but Draco finds himself hiding away at home, rejecting every offer to hang out or keep him company. He wishes to be alone— even when the loneliness sometimes claws up his throat and suffocates him —so he can wallow in the waves of sorrow and let them pull him under.
Draco wants to hurt, he thinks, because at least then he’s feeling something.
He floats away in dreams of despair and struggles to find a will to live, sometimes he’s not even capable of picking himself up from bed, and the only reason he doesn’t starve is because Mrs. Bailey drops him leftovers every night.
Draco is so unbelievably grateful for her, even if he doesn’t verbalize it, even if he just nods and offers him a half smile and closes the door in her face. He hopes she knows.
iv. two months and four days after the accident
Draco wouldn’t say he has withdrawn into himself, Pansy thinks otherwise. She never says so— she wouldn’t, she’s been unbelievingly gentle with him the last couple of months, far kinder than Draco ever thought her capable of being — but Draco overheard her talking to Blaise, tone filled with worry.
And Draco, well, he’s dealing as best as he can. It’s just hard to function properly when the sadness never settles and instead becomes stronger, grips his heart and squeezes at the most unexpected moments. Some days are good, and other days he’s drowning and sinking and choking on grief, always halfway through a nervous breakdown. Those days he can’t leave his bed, he can’t even eat, breathing and moving become the most painful tasks. Draco will admit he has become more quiet, more absent, but withdrawn feels like going too far.
In the past, he would've argued with Pansy that he hasn't withdrawn into himself, that he's alright, that he's managing as much as he can. In the past, he would've petulantly argued that she just doesn’t get it, explained that everything hurts and maybe— if ever under the influence of Firewhisky —might’ve even confessed that he feels as if sadness has its clutches so deep into his heart that the wound is slowly getting infected, admitted that he’s scared it will never heal. But this isn’t the past and Draco is nothing but the broken pieces of who he used to be, so he doesn’t open his mouth. He doesn’t argue, doesn’t call her out for speaking about him behind his back, doesn't even try to contradict her.
Existing is tiring and Draco just doesn’t have the energy to spare.
Pansy watches him with something akin to pity and fear, like she can see how he's fading and is scared he'll disappear if she looks away. (Draco doesn't blame her. Some days it does feel as if he could vanish, as if his body could fade into nothingness, as if his mind could give in into despair and anger and just never return. Part of him had hoped time would soothe the emptiness in his heart, but it’d been like applying salve on an open wound. Time hadn’t done a fucking thing.)
And it’s just because he doesn’t have any fight left in him that Draco lets Pansy be— he allows her to coddle him, he eats as much as he can muster when she begs and drinks the tea she prepares before leaving at night.  It’s the only reason he’s here right now, back in wizarding London and walking at a stagnating pace through Diagon Alley, because Pansy said fresh air and a change of scenery would do him good and Draco just didn’t have it in him to argue.
He tugs at the hood of the cloak he’s wearing— it’s an old one of his, one Pansy found buried in the depths of his closet, one that fits awkwardly and smells musty but does a good enough job at concealing his distinguishing silver hair— and follows closely behind her.
It’s weird, he thinks to himself, being back in the wizarding world after many years spent in muggle London. He can’t deny that there’s a sense of familiarity at seeing and feeling the magic around, a warm tugging in his chest— probably his own dormant magic, one that hasn’t been used for far too long, responding to the energy around him —but there’s also an underlying sense of unsettledness.
He’d promised (Y/N) to return to the magic world once tension lessened and things sorted themselves out. They were meant to walk these streets together. Draco walks them all alone.
Something twists uncomfortably in his chest. He’s grown accustomed to the pain, so he pushes it down and allows Pansy to grab the hem of the cloak and pull him into a shop.
The smell hits him first, it's a mixture of wet parchment and mint with a hint of licorice. Surrounding him are what feels like a thousand objects— some small, some larger —but all unrecognizable to Draco. It's uncomfortable to see with his own eyes how the magical world has kept on evolving, even after they left. It's even more unbearable that his first reaction is to turn around to meet (Y/N)'s eyes, only to find his side empty. It leaves a bitter taste in his mouth, one that intertwines itself with melancholy and agony.
Draco distracts himself by looking around. Pansy follows him around for a while, and after realizing that he won't suddenly burst out into tears and collapse (which Draco can't blame her for believing as it has happened before) she leaves him to buy whatever she came here for.
It's as he's mindlessly looking through the stands, fingers flickering uninterested through small parchment pieces that transcribe whatever is mumbled to them, that Draco sees them; small vials, no bigger than his thumb, containing a blueish substance. There's a tag sticking to the lid. Draco moves closer, turns the paper around gently and is met with neatly written, italicized words.
He skips over the first few words, eyes drawn to the last few sentences.
"Our amazing liquid formula lets you control your dreams so you can visualize any event that has happened in the past with vivid detail. Imagine being able to wake up feeling like you just spent the night with your childhood best friend who moved away 10 years ago, or a loved one who has passed away. All it takes is a few drops before bed and voilà! You chose the memory, and we do the rest.  The opportunities are endless with our state-of-the-art formula that helps you unlock the past and immerse yourself in memories like never before. Make sure to..."
Liquid Dreams, they call it.
Draco buys a few vials before he's even done reading the tag.
v. two months and three weeks after the accident
Draco stares at the little vial, unblinking. Somewhere out in the living room there's an old clock, the type they don't really fabricate anymore, antique, made of old deep wood and with its classic curvy shape. It's quiet enough that Draco can hear it ticking all the way to the master bedroom.
Tick. Tock.
The vial remains where it was placed by Draco when he bought it almost three weeks ago, contents untouched. It mocks him, an unwanted reminder that he could see her again if he wasn’t such a coward.
Tick. Tock.
He steps closer, reaching out for the glass, before hesitating and backing away, resuming his pacing around the room. The sole of his foot hits the wooden ground soundlessly, the lack of noise makes him feel all the more alone.
Tick. Tock.
Draco chews on his lower lip, makes it bleed. All he wants is within his reach, but he's so fucking scared. Because what happens if he sees (Y/N), or the memory of her, and it does nothing to soothe the burning in his heart. He'd be doomed then, destined to walk the rest of his life with a bleeding wound in his soul, destined to dance with grief until his feet ache and blister and his body just gives up and he dies, too. Draco’s heart wouldn’t survive that.
Tick. Tock.
But then again, a little voice chimes at the back of his head, it can’t get worse than this. It can’t get worse than days that blur into one another, than the way he loses control of his mind, fog condensing in his head, and he blinks awake only to find himself in a place he can’t remember walking to. It can’t get worse than coming back home to an empty house, a cold bed, to solitude, with his heart feeling so heavy it weights him down. It definitely cannot get worse than it is because he’s already missing her with his every breath, with every beat of his heart.
Tick. Tock.
It comes from somewhere within him, the sudden impulse, a surge of energy that has him moving forward to undo the lid. He tips the blue substance back, swallows it down in one go before he can second guess himself. No going back now. In the rush, Draco forgets to think of a specific moment.
Tick. Tock.
The taste is strange, indescribable: sweet and bitter all at once. Draco can feel the liquid burning as it goes down, it leaves an aftertaste that lingers heavily in his mouth. It tastes weirdly artificial, like someone tried hard to make it taste like fruits and flowers but failed, he can feel it at the back of his throat. The effect of the potion is almost instantaneous, the abruptness hitting Draco strongly and making him stumble into the side of his bed.
Tick.
He tries to fight the exhaustion, but it’s like his eyelids are trying to shut themselves together. Draco can do nothing but give in to sleep, let himself be swept under.
Tock.
When he opens his eyes, he isn’t lying in bed anymore. The sun shines brightly in the sky, it makes him squint and look away. He recognizes the smell immediately, salty and musky, like seaweed and sunscreen. Draco knows where he is— the beach near Sussex to which they apparated once they left the Wizarding World all those years ago —and he knows exactly who is behind him. With his heart beating so hard it’s almost painful, Draco turns around to be greeted with a smile he knows too well, one he could paint with his eyes closed.
(Y/N).
Her eyes crinkle with mirth. Something within Draco deflates. It feels as if, for the first time since the accident, he can finally breathe.
When he wakes up in the morning, Draco tells himself he'll be careful with the potion, won't abuse it. But he finds himself chugging down the blue liquid every night, buys a box of Liquid Dreams and keeps the vials hidden under his bed.
Anything to see her one more time.
vi. six months and a day after the accident
Draco could choose any memory, he knows that, and sometimes he does. He picks the first time they kissed (under the snow during a trip to Hogsmeade), he revisits their arrival to the beach near Sussex (because she’d never seen the beach before, had never felt the sand under her toes, and Draco basks on the feeling of her happiness), he relieves their short honeymoon (the dinner under the moonlight, the wandering hands, the stolen kisses, the feeling of her breath against his cheek and her skin pressed right against his). Most of the times, however, he brings himself back to that night. It isn’t intentional, it happens when he doesn’t focus hard enough on a memory, almost as if his mind wishes to torture him further. Because it is torture, going back to their last moments together— to the last time he ever saw her alive —without the blissful ignorance of what’s to come.
On nights like that he wakes with his heart ready to leap out his chest, sometimes halfway through a panic attack, tears cascading down his cheeks, and then he lays awake for the rest of the night, pulling himself together piece by piece, stitching the metaphorical laceration on his heart with deep breaths, before forcing himself to go through the motions, get through the day.
The sadness never disappears, it follows him like a shadow on the sunniest of days. Sometimes it seems to grow smaller— or maybe Draco gets used to its looming presence, it’s darkness —and it gives space to anger, which settles between his ribs and climbs all the way up to his throat and burns. Sometimes it feels as if the rage will seep out of his pores, tainting him. He’s angry at everything, at the world, at her, at himself. Waking up every morning to a reality in which she’s gone makes the anger increase by a tenfold, it’s so so fucking painful, but at night, when he sees her and feels her and holds her— even if it’s just in memories and dreams —the feeling mellows and that’s why he must return to her, must drink the cloudy blue potion every night, because if he doesn’t he knows the mixture of grief and rage and resentment will consume him.
It isn’t a problem, it really isn’t— so what if he sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night screaming for her to stay, what if sometimes he wishes he could stay in his dreams to keep on holding her close, what if coming back to reality just makes the whole in his heart deeper, that’s no one’s business but his own. That is, until he starts seeing her outside the dreams.
It begins with shadows, the outline of her body. Draco blinks once, twice, and then it’s gone.
“Malfoy? You good?”
He meets his coworker’s eyes. Mark is young, barely twenty, started working in the restaurant only a couple of months ago. He wasn’t here when Draco lost (Y/N), didn’t get to see the way he broke down and pieced himself back together, didn’t experience the gentleness and leniency with which they all treated him, but he seems to be acutely aware that something happened because he’s soft with him too.
“What?”
Mark cocks his head to the side, eyebrows furrowing, “You look like you saw a ghost.”
Draco thinks he might’ve. He decides to blame it on the lack of proper sleep.
“I’m fine.”
But he’s not fine, because he keeps seeing her. It becomes more recurrent as time goes on, and (Y/N)’s ghost goes from being a just dark shape to taking full on corporeal form. He can even see the little freckles on her skin.
It’s concerning.
Draco knows she’s not real, not really, just the remnants of a memory, a side effect of drinking Liquid Dreams every night when the wizarding company that produces the potion suggests a maximum of two vials per week.
He should stop.
He doesn’t.
He can’t.
He keeps on tipping the vial back, drinking the liquid, making a grimace at the flavor. He keeps being a spectator from within his own body, keeps going back to that night.
It's the only way to be with her.
It always starts the same way, the smell of garlic and oregano in the air, the soft jazz tune playing in the radio. Draco finds himself moving without his own permission, the glass of wine he holds in his hand guiding itself towards his mouth. He's long learned that the experience is gentler for his mind, and overall better, if he doesn't fight it. It's useless, anyhow, he can't change what already happened, he's just reliving his memories.
"Merlin, that smells so good," his voice sound foreign to his ears. He reaches forward to hug (Y/N) from behind, swaying her to the beat of the song and humming the last notes against her skin. She smiles and tips her head back a little, enough to allow him to place a chaste kiss to her neck. Draco's heart tightens at the ease in which they move around one another, the familiarity of her body pressed to his own.
"It's your favorite," she responds gently, moving the wooden spoon with which she's mixing the sauce towards him, tipping it back so he can taste it. It's thick and buttery, rich and only slightly sweet, just like he likes it.
Draco groans playfully, presses his forehead to the crook of her neck.
"I'm the luckiest man."
"And don't you forget it," she teases, moving aside to let him take over. She steals the glass of wine from his hand and moves away giggling when Draco makes a poor attempt at following after her. She drinks the remaining alcohol, sticking her tongue out at him.
He feels his throat close up, melancholy settling deep within his bones. He tries to memorize the curve of her smile, the sound of her laughter. Draco wishes he could change what comes next, wishes he could instead rush forward and capture her lips in a kiss, make her stay with him. He can't, because that’s not what he did that night. Instead, he rolls his eyes, soft laughter falling from his lips. It’s ironic how he’s laughing in his memory, but slowly dying inside as he forces himself to live this moment over and over again.
From the corner of his eye, Draco watches as (Y/N) refills the glass, taking a small sip. He cleans up some pieces of onion, listening as (Y/N) sings softly to herself, the cadence of her voice is smooth, it flows and mixes effortlessly with the one coming from the radio. Draco could hear her sing forever. There's a light patter of rain against the window as he preheats the oven, so he closes the window to prevent any water from slipping in.
It's a slow night, a Saturday night, the type of nights in which they'll cook together and drink a bit, and then some more, and dance drunkenly around the kitchen only to end up in their bedroom, discarding their clothes and rediscovering each other's bodies.
It should've ended that way.
It won't.
Don't say it. Don't say it.
"Hey, love, where did you put the mozzarella? Can't find it on the fridge."
There's a small, soft, "Oh, shit," in the background. Her singing stops. The rain becomes heavier.
"Forgot to buy it," she replies, already moving for the keys to their small car.
It's alright, he wants to scream out, we don't need it. Stay. I'll cook something else. Don't leave.
What falls out of his mouth instead is, "My forgetful little one."
Please stay. Please.
She scrunches her nose up, just the way she always does when he calls her by that nickname. Draco always thought it made her look cute. Now it only makes him want to cry. She crosses the room, presses a quick kiss to his lips.
"I'll be back soon."
He's yelling inside his own head, can feel the dread settling somewhere in his stomach.
Please don't leave.
Don't go.
Stay.
Stay.
"Be safe," he calls out. He rages within himself, desperate to do something different, say something different.
I love you, and it feels like his throat is going raw with how loud he's crying out. He tries to open his mouth, to move, to do anything, but it's futile.
Because that night, (Y/N) walks out the door, and Draco doesn't tell her he loves her one last time.
vii. seven years, three months and two days before the accident
Draco falls in love quick and hard, and once he realizes it, he's in too deep. He doesn't know how it happens, he just knows that one day he looks at (Y/N)— watches the way snowflakes fall on her hair, slowly painting it white, and how she looks up the sky as if it's her first time ever seeing the snow, smile so bright it makes something in Draco's chest tighten —and he thinks to himself yeah, fuck, I would spend the rest of my life by her side.
(And Draco can't pinpoint where along the line he fell in love, but he knows precisely why. It's all in the way her laugh floats around the air and settles somewhere within his heart, the sound soft and comforting, and how her eyes become gentle when they set on him, like she can see through him and wishes to take away anything that could cause him harm. It's the soft caresses of his hair, the delicate kisses to his forehead, the way in which her hand subconsciously searches for his. It's in the way that (Y/N) sees all parts of him, including the dark and ugly, the sides of himself that he's ashamed of, and she doesn't flinch away in disgust, but rather pulls him closer. It's the way she loves, so effortlessly, and the way she teaches Draco how to be better every day, a better human, a better friend, a better lover.)
Falling in love is not something he ever planned on doing, the last thing Draco wanted was to drag someone into the mess that was his life, but by the time he has half a mind to think about stopping it, his heart has already crawled out of its place deep within his chest and has settled in (Y/N)'s hand, where it's being tenderly held and thoroughly cherished. It might just be the worse time to be thinking of love— because, despite what the Ministry of Magic insists on, the Dark Lord is back, and the unmistakable mark that contrasts his father's pale skin has never been darker, and there's people with masks coming and going around the Manor, and slowly the pressure on Draco's shoulders is piling and piling and piling and he's beginning to feel like he can't breathe— or maybe it's just the right time. After all, (Y/N) is like a breath of fresh air, like warm, soothing hands on his blemished soul. Draco feels weightless when he's around her, like all his troubles are unimportant and nothing in the world matters but the two of them. He feels at peace, like he can finally rest.
She becomes his best friend, his confidant, and so much more. Draco loves her, can't think of a life without her, wants to keep her safe, wants to be with her.
Maybe that's the reason why a couple of years later, when the Second Wizarding War comes to an end and they're holding each other close after the Battle of Hogwarts, skin torn open, wounds still oozing blood, muscles aching, but both of them undeniably still alive, that Draco cups her face between his hands and whispers against her lips, "Let's start a new life, you and I."
They do.
They leave a shattered Wizarding World behind. They escape the clutches of Draco's family. They abandon magic.
It's the beginning of the happiest eight years of Draco's life. It's also the beginning of the end.
Years down the line, a bottle of Firewhisky in hand and alcohol running through his veins, Draco will wonder if he should've kept quiet, if they should've stayed instead. They would not have been together, his family would've never allowed the union between a Malfoy and a muggleborn, but at lease she would still be alive.
viii. the accident
(Y/N) dies on a Saturday. Her favorite day of the week.
Draco is waiting for her, fingers working steadily to knead the dough for their dinner. She hasn't been gone long, maybe half an hour, but in that time, he's changed the radio station from soft jazz to something more pop. He knows she'll bicker about the music when she's back, will pout and definitely win that battle— because if there's one thing Draco is weak for, it's her —but for now Draco enjoys the bubblegum boyband music that's playing.
Outside, the rain has grown stronger, and the wind howls, creating a low whistling noise that resonates around the kitchen.
The landline phone rings, and Draco's already halfway through teasing her about forgetting her keys and the umbrella— something along the lines that the only reason she doesn't lose her head is because it's permanently attached to her body —when he picks up the phone.
"I'll come out to get you, but you'll owe me a kiss." He's already gripping the umbrella by the handle.
"Uh, I'm sorry, is this the Malfoy residency?"
The grin falls off his face immediately. The voice on the other side is deep and gruff, muffled by the static and the rain. Draco doesn't recognize it.
"Who is this?"
There is no gut feeling, no intuition to tell him there might be something wrong. It doesn't sink in that this has to be about (Y/N) until the voice starts talking again.
The man introduces himself, but Draco forgets the name by the time he's done hearing it.
"Sir, there's been an accident. Your wife..."
It's like Draco's heart falls to the bottom of his stomach.
The umbrella drops to the floor, a loud thud resonating around the room.
He can't breathe.
The man keeps going, his voice getting increasingly shaky as he keeps on explaining the situation, and Draco catches only pieces of what he's saying.
The rain.
A crash.
Dead on impact.
He really can't breathe.
For a second there's nothing but silence in his mind, stillness, and then there's everything all at once. Draco goes from being unable to hear his own breathing to being hyperaware of his surroundings. He can hear the static of the radio behind him, the light buzzing of the electricity in the bulb above his heads, the sizzling of the sauce, the pain on his feet where the umbrella landed before rolling to the floor, the ticking of the old clock (Y/N) bought. He suddenly can't control his body, can't control how he backs away slowly, tugging at the phone's cord— is he moving slowly? He thinks he is, he can't tell, everything around him is distorted— can't help it when his knees weaken beneath him and his hands tremble.
He grips the counter to steady himself.
He wheezes, tries to bring some oxygen into his lungs.
This can't be happening. This cannot be happening.
He saw her less than forty minutes ago. She was going to the store to get cheese. What do you mean dead on impact? What do you mean she's gone. She can't be. She'll be walking through the door any minute now, soaked because she forgot her umbrella. She'll pout about the pop music and Draco will begrudgingly agree to playing more jazz and they'll dance around the kitchen as they wait for dinner to be ready. She's not dead. She cannot be dead. They had survived a war, she cannot be dead.
"I'm sorry, sir." The words are garbled, but somehow, despite his distress, Draco manages to make sense of them.
"I, uh—"
"There's an officer here who wishes to speak with you, sir."
There's shuffling. Draco closes his eyes, presses his forehead against the cool counter. Merlin, this cannot be happening. This has to be a nightmare; this can't be real. It doesn't feel real.
"Am I speaking with Mr. Malfoy."
Draco hates to be called that; it reminds his too much of his father. His voice is soft, and it breaks when he responds, "Yes."
The policeman must hear it because his tone becomes slightly gentler, but no less formal. "I'm sorry to ask this of you, sir, but we need you to identify the body."
The body. Not (Y/N). The body. Draco clenches his jaw hard enough for it to hurt.
He doesn't mean to do it, but he's struggling to tether himself to reality and the officer is awaiting a response, talking to him so softly it's making him dizzy, so Draco does what he knows how to do best; he slips the Malfoy mask on, places it tight enough that it won't fall down and then tightens it further to prevent any cracks.
The mask stays on longer than he intends it to. He wears it to sleep that night, wakes up with it in the morning. It accompanies him to the morgue, loosens a little around the edges when he's forced to make the identification, but stays on otherwise. It keeps him from feeling anything, from facing reality, from breaking down in front of complete strangers who are already looking at him with so much pity. It doesn't really slip off until the funeral, when Draco watches her be lowered into the ground.
She's gone.
Something within him snaps, breaks beyond repair. The mask shatters against the ground.
He cries for the first time that day and it feels as if he never stops crying afterwards.
ix. eight months and eighteen days after the accident
He's doing groceries when it happens. From the corner of his eye, he can see the shape of (Y/N), always lingering, present ever since the day Draco saw her outside of the dreams for the first time. It's eerie. Draco hasn't grown accustomed to it— to her? He doesn't think he ever will. It's one thing to see her in his memories, within his dreams, because he knows she isn't real. It becomes more difficult to discern reality from dreaming when he constantly sees her in real life. (He tries reaching out to touch her once, recently woken up and still a little sluggish with sleepiness. His hand meets nothing but air. Draco jerks his hand back, runs to the bathroom to be sick.)
A part of him, at the beginning, thought that having her around with him every moment of the day would lessen the heavy weight around his chest, evaporate the remains of grief, but this isn't her, just a ghost of his wife.
Draco's so focused on ignoring the hallucination— its blank, emotionless face, the eyes that follow him around —and trying to manage the raging headache he's had since he woke up, that it takes him a while to notice the tapping on his shoulder. It's only when it becomes insistent that he turns around.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but you're bleeding."
For a moment the words don't make sense. Then, Draco feels the sticky substance running down his cupid's bow. His fingers come back red when he reaches to touch it.
The woman, small and old, offers him a blue handkerchief with a kind smile, "Take care, kid. It's been oddly warm these days."
Draco knows the nosebleed isn't in any way related to the heat, but he nods and thanks her anyways.
She lets him keep the handkerchief, "It was my late husband's. I have a feeling you'll be needing it more than I will", and over the next couple of days Draco uses it more often than he would like to admit.
It only gets worse from there. Nausea, vomiting, body tremors.
Draco knows it's the potion, but he can't bring himself to stop. He must see her. He keeps on tipping his head back and chugging the misty liquid.
Most days he wakes up exhausted, the bags under his eyes no longer disguisable. He's irritable, he snaps at the smallest of things. Mrs. Bailey tells him to take some days off, the concern evident in her eyes. It just angers him. He's alright. More than alright. He gets to see his dead wife every night, he keeps her alive. He's fine.
But then he isn't because his body begins to slowly shut down. He starts feeling feverish, fog condenses his head. He lays in bed and time becomes a foreign concept. He's sweating, hot and cold at the same time, it's like he's boiling from the inside and can't escape it. He sees (Y/N), standing at the corner. Is this a dream? Everything sways around him, the world tilts. He can't talk, can't move. He falls unconscious. But not before reaching for the little glass vial and its addicting blue contents.
He blinks awake to the dream.
It's always the same. Garlic. Oregano. Jazz music in the radio. A glass of almost finished wine in his hand.
"Merlin, that smells so good."
He hugs her from behind, sways her to the beat of the song. She twists around in his arms.
She twists around in his arms?
"We need to talk."
It's her voice, Draco would recognize it anywhere, soft and velvety. But she never said those words. She couldn't have said those words. Draco has relieved this memory seventy-three times, he knows.
She steps away, takes his hand, and the scenery around them swiftly changes. The background becomes distorted, it melts down and reconstructs itself. It makes Draco dizzy, the sudden change from dimmed lights and rainy weather to a bright sunny day. They're at the beach near Sussex.
This has never happened before. This shouldn't be happening. Draco opens his mouth, tries to swallow down the bright panic flaring in his chest, and finds out he can speak. This isn't a memory anymore.
"How are you—? You shouldn't be—" He stops himself, looks around. The beach is just as he remembers it, the air is hot, but the breeze is cool. It smells like seaweed and fish. In his memory (Y/N) is smiling. She isn't smiling now, just studying him carefully. "You're dead."
Draco has never said those words out loud before. The pain in his chest, the one that hasn't settled since the accident, burns and then becomes lighter.
"I am," she confirms. She doesn't sound sad, it's almost as if she's just stating facts. The sky is blue and (Y/N) is dead.
When he remains frozen, mind still going haywire, so she takes him by the hand and tugs him along. They walk closer to the ocean. Her hand is warm against his.
"How is this happening?"
She looks back at him, offers a gentle smile, and Draco knows his wife well enough that he recognizes the look in her eyes. You already know. It all clicks in his head. He focuses on the water, realizes that the waves aren't moving as they should, notices that the image is slightly deformed and misshaped. His mind is creating all of his, everything around him is becoming blurry because he never walked close to the shore. (Y/N) figure remains sharp and clear because her image is safely stored in Draco's mind.
"You're not you," he whispers to himself.
She stops dead in her track, turns around to meet his gaze. There's a smile tugging at the corner of her lips, as if she knows something he doesn't.
"Aren't I?"
"This is all happening inside my head. It's a dream."
"That does not mean it's not real."
She sits on the ground, not caring about the sand staining her clothes, and it's such a (Y/N) thing to do that Draco's heartstrings tighten and a part of his mind can't believe it isn't her. She pats the ground and he sits beside her.
They remain quiet for some time. (Y/N) plays with the sand, picking it between her fingers before allowing the breeze to take it away. She gives him time to gather his thoughts, and there's so much Draco want to say. So much. But it's like the words are stuck at the back of his throat and he can't manage to spit them out.
She speaks first, keeps on picking up sand and letting it go.
"You're killing yourself," her tone is soft, but there's a certain harshness in her words. It isn't at all what Draco was expecting to hear.
"What?"
(Y/N) turns to meet his gaze, eyes firm, "You're drinking the potion every night, are you not? You're getting headaches, nausea, nosebleeds. You're seeing me outside the memories."
Draco could lie, but she would see right through him.
"I am."
She nods absentmindedly, like he's just confirming what she already knows. Her gaze leaves his face and sets on the horizon.
"You'll die." There's a slight tremor to her voice, the kind she used to get when she was a few words away from crying.
"Is that so bad?"
She snaps her head back to him, tears on the corner of his eyes. "Don't say that," and her words are tainted with a rigidness he isn't accustomed to.
Her tone should unsettle him, but Draco pushes, "I would get to be with you, wouldn't I?"
She shakes her head. "There's so much left for you to live, Draco. So much."
Draco is the one to look away now, he tries to reign in the anger. She doesn't understand because she's the one that left, she's not the one that has to deal with the ever-growing emptiness and sadness and grief. Draco is the one that stayed. He's the one that was left all alone to cope, to try to find ways to live without her. He's the one that feels her absence, every day with every breath.
"What's the point if you're not around to live it with me."
He looks back just in time to see her eyes soften around the edges. She looks sad now, apologetic.
(Y/N) reaches for his hand and Draco lets her take it.
"Then live it for the both of us. Live it for me."
Just like that Draco deflates, he focuses on the circles her thumb rubs against the back of his palm.
"I just miss you," he confesses, "so so much. You wouldn't understand."
Her grip tightens.
"I know."
"I just want to be with you."
"I know, I know." There's a heaviness in her features, a twinge of pain in the corner of her lips and between her brows. Draco, for a moment, wonders if he's wearing a matching expression, if they both carry the hollowness in their hearts. "I'm sorry I left you." She comes closer, cradles his face the same way Draco did when he suggested they run away all those years ago. He wants to tell her she doesn't need to apologize, that it isn't her fault, but her words soothe some sort of internal ache. "I'm sorry about all the things that could've been but won't ever be." His throat constricts. He thinks about all the things they promised each other (to grow old together, to start a family), doesn't notice the tears falling down his cheeks until she wipes them away. (Y/N) presses her forehead against him, whispers the words against his lips, "I'm so sorry, my love."
Draco shatters, grips her wrists to anchor himself. The sobs that leave his mouth are muffled, quiet, but he knows (Y/N) hears them by the way her hold on his face becomes firmer. She hums, a soft jazz song, the one that was playing the night she died, and lets him cry to his heart's content.
It isn't until he quiets down, sobs becoming hiccups, that she pulls away. She lets her eyes trail over his face, brushes her thumbs against his cheeks and pulls a strand of hair out of his face. Her eyes are sad as she mumbles, "Trapping yourself in our memories and living off the past isn't going to bring me back."
Draco knows. He knows. But he can't bear the idea of never seeing her again, of never holding her, of never hearing her voice.
"I need more time with you."
She smiles softly, "We got eight years of nothing but happiness, my love. That's much more than what many lovers get."
"A lifetime by your side wouldn't have been enough."
It's true. Draco could've lived a thousand lives with her, and it would've never been enough. His soul craved her with an intensity that was almost overwhelming. No amount of time would've been enough.
"I love you." He needs to say it, needs her to hear the words coming from his own lips. "I didn't get to say it that day, when you left, but I do. I love you so much."
"I know."
Draco blinks up at (Y/N), finds her already staring back. In that moment, there's nothing but her.
"Draco, baby, you could've never uttered those words to me again, and I would've known. I felt it in every touch and every look. It was all around us. I know you love me, and you know just how much I love you too."
And Draco does know. Love is raw and primal; it leaves an indelible mark one must carry forever. Love builds and it shatters, it heals and burns. Draco presses his forehead against her collarbone and sighs, people leave, and they die, but their love stays. He loves her, will always love her, and she loves him too, even in death.
The dream begins to melt, to fold into itself. The colors blend together. (Y/N) begins to pull away and Draco panics, grips her a little tight.
"Please stay with me."
There's desperation in his tone, anguish.
(Y/N) comes back close, softly presses her lips against his. "I'm always with you," she whispers as she back away. "Here," she taps right above his heart, the place where her name is branded on his skin, "and here," she presses her finger to his temple.
Everything disintegrates.
When he comes back to himself it's due to a sound. He tries to open his eyes, but they feel too heavy, so it takes him a while to gather enough strength to do so. His tongue is heavy on his mouth, dry. The sweat is making his clothes stick to his skin. Draco feels like he could throw up at any moment.
He thinks of (Y/N).
I'm always with you.
The sound persists in the background. At first it appears to come from far away, it's muted and dull, as if he's hearing it from under water, but it becomes clearer as the haze slowly disappears from his mind. It takes Draco some time to recognize it; someone is pounding on the door.
He would move to open it if he could regain control of his limbs.
It appears like his presence isn't even needed because after a thunderous bang— which Draco somehow recognizes as his door being broken down —the pounding stops. Draco should be worried, someone is inside his house, he can hear the footsteps approaching, but he can't bring himself to care.
I'm always with you.
Blaise walks into his room, eyes frantic and unfocused.
They settle on him and there's a flash of anger before it twists into something more worried, something closer to panic. He looks like he just stumbled across a corpse.
Blaise's eyes dart around the room and Draco can tell the moment he notices the small glass vials that he never bothered to clean up because Blaise's face tightens, "You idiot."
And he's upset, Draco knows he is, can hear it in his voice, but Blaise is still walking forward and kneeling by the side of his bed. He's upset, but his eyes hold on so much concern.
"What have you done?"
The words are whispered, Blaise presses the back of his hand to Draco's forehead, ever so gentle, and Draco can't help it, he catches a peek of (Y/N)'s ghost looming over Blaise's shoulder, smiling softly at him before softly shattering and disappearing, and the tears begin to fall. He's still a little out of it, a little feverish, still thinking of his dream.
I'm always with you.
Draco clenches his fists. He doesn't feel the nails digging into his skin, deeper and deeper, until Blaise places his hands over his own and softly coaxes them open, "It's okay. You're okay."
Blood flows freely down his palm. It doesn't even sting. Nothing can ache more than his heart.
Draco shakes his head. Nothing is okay, it hasn't been okay since the day she died.
Blaise sighs softly, "I know."
Draco doesn't know if he muttered the words or if his best friend can read his mind.
"I just miss her," it comes out watery and weak, but Draco doesn't even care. He's breaking, falling, shattering.
He sees the way Blaise swallows hard, closes his eyes and looks up to the ceiling, breathing hard. "I know you do, but this..." He gestures at the tiny glass vials that lay empty by the foot of his bed, before setting his eyes back on him. "Draco..."
"Don't." He begs, because he can feel the anger beginning to simmer, buried underneath the steam of illness and confusion, but Blaise has always been one to speak his mind, ruthlessly so, and so he presses on.
"You're hurting yourself."
You're killing yourself, her voice echoes in his brain. You'll die.
"Leave it alone."
"I can't," Blaise stresses, tightening his grip on Draco's wrist. The words don't surprise Draco, Blaise has always been a fixer, unable to let go once he figures out a problem and has effectively resolved it, but they do anger him. "For Salazar's sake. Liquid Dreams, Draco? Really? Have you've got any idea how harmful the potion can be if ingested on the daily."
He does know, he does, he's seen the effects, has felt them on his body. His limbs shiver, his heart is racing, his skin shuffles between being unbearably hot to freezing cold. He might've ignored the warning tag on every vial, but Draco knows. He just didn't care.
"I just want to see her."
I just want to be with you.
A lifetime by your side wouldn't have been enough.
I'm always with you.
He presses the back of his hand against his eyes, tries to mute the resonating voices in his head.
"No," Blaise responds, "You're trying to keep her alive." Draco's breath comes to a sudden halt, eyes opening and focusing on Blaise, fire burning beneath them. Blaise doesn't shy away, doesn't even flinch. He's always been bluntly honest. Draco has never hated that quality more than he does know. His final words come out soft, "You can't. She's gone."
You're dead.
I am.
He doesn't know if it's the fever or the potion, but his next words come out manic, rushed, erratic.
"She isn't! Not when I drink the vials. Not when I see her every night."
Blaise's gaze softens. There's pain in his eyes.
"You've got to let her go."
Trapping yourself in our memories and living off the past isn't going to bring me back.
"You don't understand, Blaise." Now he's shouting, feelings jumbling within his chest and words tumbling out his mouth. He's confused and scared and hurt and sad and angry, and it comes out in the way of a sharp tone that cuts like a knife, "You couldn't even begin to comprehend what I'm feeling, what my life has been like for the last months."
Blaise remains impassive, but his features harden. Draco catches the brief flare of annoyance in his eyes.
"My sister died in the war, Malfoy." His words come back with the same razor-sharp edge Draco used. "So did my father, in case you forgot."
Draco breathes heavily, guilt pools at the bottom of his stomach.
"I'm sorry," he mumbles, and Blaise doesn't say anything back, but Draco knows he's forgiven by the way his friend's shoulders relax. For all his tough exterior, Blaise has never been able to hold onto anger. Draco wishes he could be like that.
They stay quiet for a while, time that feels like an eternity.
It's Blaise who breaks the silence. "I know it hurts, and I know you miss her, but you're keeping her hostage in your dreams and you're holding onto the pain."
Draco exhales shakily.
"That's not going to bring her back."
"I know," he whispers, tears slowly filling his eyes once more. Trapping yourself in our memories and living off the past isn't going to bring me back, he hears being mumbled by his ear. "Fuck, I know."
He looks up at Blaise and by the way his friend briefly looks away Draco knows he must look absolutely shattered.
"How do I let her go, Blaise, when it feels like my soul was ripped in half?"
Blaise swallows hard. There are tears by the corner of his eyes, too, "You let yourself hurt, you let yourself feel."
Live it for me.
I'm always with you.
"I'm sorry I left you alone, Draco. I thought you wanted to... I don't know, process privately. I'm sorry I wasn't here."
Draco shakes his head. "Don't be," he closes his eyes with a sigh, "When I felt myself slipping, I should've said something." But it's difficult to do so, to reach out, when you feel so alone and alienated, and Blaise must know, must understand, because when Draco opens his eyes, Blaise is also shaking his head.
"And I should've noticed before," he responds, and Draco knows he isn't just talking about the grief, but also about Draco's borderline addiction to the potion. "You are my best friend, after all."
They stare at each other for a split second before Blaise sighs and looks away, "We'll talk about it later. Let's just focus on getting your fever down."
Draco has known Blaise long enough to understand what goes unsaid. Don't worry, I'm here now, I've got you, you're going to be okay.
And Draco isn't okay, not even close, but this feels like a step in the right direction. He feels lighter. His heart aches, but it's manageable. For the first time in months, Draco doesn't feel the overwhelming itch to go back to his memories.
x. two years after the accident
For the longest time Draco thought he would die without her, and maybe a part of him does. But as he stands in front of her grave, a bouquet of heliotropes on his hand, he thinks that maybe that's okay. The last year has taught him how to let go of the hurt, let go of the part of him that isn't really him anymore, and instead hold onto her, onto their love.
It never stops hurting, there's always a lingering, dull pain in his heart, but Draco learns how to live with it. He thinks that's okay, too. The pain is a reminder that he loved and was loved. Love hurts because it's everlasting, because it never truly goes away. Grief is the price we pay for loving. That's okay, he reckons, it's a small price.
Draco presses his hand to the headstone, squats down to place the flowers on the floor, closes his eyes and allows himself to feel. Healing isn't linear, he's learned, and it's okay to sometimes feel a sorrow so deep it pierces and reopens the wound in his soul, as long as he can release the sadness and the pain, as long as he swims with it but doesn't allow himself to drown.
Having Blaise and Pansy around helps and Draco is more than unbelievably grateful for his support system. (For Blaise, who helps him through the days of withdrawal, who opens up his house to him, who helps him look for a grief counselor. For Pansy, who teaches him how to paint with oil, and how to pour his feelings into blank pieces of parchment instead of bottling them up.) He learns that he's not alone, never was. He learns how to lean on someone else when he needs help.
It takes time, but he slowly regains parts of him he thought had shatter beyond repair. He cooks pizza for his friends, he drives to work, he listens to slow jazz songs and thunderstorms without the urgent desire to break down. He wears his wedding band around his neck.
He heals. Slowly, but surely.
Draco learns that the memories he shared with her will always be there, for him to think back upon, but they are not meant for him to live within.

Peppers, Slytherin Boys [ DRABBLE ]
— the slytherin boys + band au. this will include theodore nott, mattheo riddle, lorenzo berkshire, draco malfoy, blaise zabini and tom riddle (bc i said so) also the bandname.. ur probably thinking "how original" /sar but i couldnt think of anything JENDN
slytherin boys band
warnings ! — a little bit suggestive in some parts (hehehaha), mentions of smoking/cigarettes, mentions of eye pulling
-----------------------------------------------------------
thinking about these boys starting a band together. they decide the positions will go as such: tom as lead guitarist + sub-vocals, mattheo on drums, theo as the bassist, draco on keyboard, enzo as main vocals and blaise as sub-guitarist.
they sit there in the common room, everyone bickering about who can come up with a better band name. tom sighs and pulls at his eyes with a groan. do they ever shut up?
draco scoffs and turns to tom, "alright then. think you've got a better name?"
tom blinks and gives him a blank look before saying, "uh yes. i've got plenty of better names actually." the boys look at him expectantly and suddenly tom is realising he has to give them a name suggestion, (spoiler alert: he actually had none.)
the usually quiet prefect clears his throat, "how about the deatheaters?" he asks. good, he thinks, that came out more certain than it did in my head.
mattheo raises his eyebrows in surprise and clicks his tongue. "damn, that's actually kind of sick. vote?" he glances around to see multiple grins and aggressive nodding from lorenzo (he gets excited easily.)
they practice for months, sometimes missing dinner and even breakfast just to get more acquainted with their positions and instruments. they finally convince dumbledore to let them play at a school dance — he's definitely slightly regretting it but he figures he can't take it back now.
theo swallows anxiously as he sees just how many students showed up to the dance and blaise sighs as he places a hand on the boy's shoulder. "chill, mate. we're going t' kill it out there."
"why are there so many people?!" theo attempts to whisper as he turns to his bandmates with wide-eyes. tom shrugs, draco shakes his head and continues reading over his music sheet, lorenzo chews his lip — just as nervous as theo... and mattheo? well...
"duh," the curly-haired boy gives a crooked smirk, cocky as ever. "they're here to see us — and by us i mean me."
tom smacks his brother in the shoulder and mattheo winces, rubbing it in a soothing manner. "i was kidding!"
dumbledore calls them onto the make-shift stage while the curtains are closed and mattheo throws his cigarette onto the floor, digging into it with his foot to put it out. blaise gags, "that's a disgustung habit."
mattheo shrugs and the band make their way onto the stage, taking their places. enzo up front, tom on his right and a little behind, mattheo at the back with his drumkit kind of floating in the air (magic perks), theo in the same place as tom but left, draco diagonally to mattheo's left and blaise just next to enzo.
lorenzo and tom clear their throats and take a sip from their water bottles before scrambling to peg them into the wings (accidentally hitting professor slughorn for which tom winces and apologises.) mattheo counts in with his sticks before starting in with a relatively quick beat, guitars being strummed and keyboard notes being played.
enzo's voice is a little deeper than usual and the crowd's reaction made it clear that they weren't expecting it. people from different houses looked up at the band, mesmorised.
mattheo had a grin on his face, his curls bouncing gently against his sweaty forehead as he hit the drums. blaise was focusing on the neck of his guitar, making sure not to mess up any notes, his skin so pretty under the gold stage light. tom couldn't care less about the audience but when his fingers moved quickly, so smooth against the strings of his guitar as he backed enzo's vocals and girls started screaming — it definitely boosted his ego a little. theo was more relaxed now, his eyes showing excitement as his stomach settled. draco blew strands of hair that fell out of his slicked back style away from his face, messing up a few chords but he was certain nobody noticed anyway.
when they finish up, the boys felt a rush of adrenaline and pride as everyone starts whistling and clapping.
they rush off the stage all giddy, smacking eachother on the back as they whoop and grin at eachother.
"whose idea was this again?" blaise asks, raising a brow.
tom shrugs with a sly smirk and hands a lighter to mattheo after he whines about needing a light for his cigarette. "no idea, but it was genius."

Draco: Who wants to have a sleepover at my house?
Y/n: [Raises her hand] I do.
Theo, Blaise and Pansy: [staring at her questionably]
Y/n: Oh come on! You guys don't wanna see where this lunatic lives?
Y/n: No offense.
Draco: It's alright, Y/n. I savor your bitterness like a sweet, rancid cream sauce.

Serpent's Shield
Draco Malfoy
Description : Theo and Blaise being the ultimate wingmen and protecting Y/n through Hogwarts and beyond
______________________________________________________________
Draco's Friends Being Protective
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was bustling with students going about their daily routines. Draco Malfoy, with his platinum blond hair and smug expression, was striding through the corridors, accompanied by his loyal friends, Theo Nott and Blaise Zabini. Their presence exuded an air of superiority, and their eyes scanned the surroundings for any potential threats.
Meanwhile, in the Great Hall, Y/n , with her unruly Y/hc hair cascading around her shoulders, sat with her fellow Y/H classmates. Her Y/ec eyes sparkled with mischief as she engaged in lively conversations. She had come a long way from her early days at Hogwarts when she and Draco were sworn enemies.
As the lunch break approached, Draco excused himself from his friends, intending to join Y/n. Sensing his departure, Theo and Blaise exchanged knowing glances. They had seen the love that blossomed between Draco and Y/n, but they also understood the lingering prejudices of Draco's pureblood upbringing.
Blaise, with his observant nature, leaned closer to Theo and whispered, "Keep an eye on Y/n while Draco is away. We know how protective he is of her."
Theo nodded in agreement, his dark eyes focused on Y/n's table. He had witnessed their journey from animosity to love, and he vowed to protect their happiness at any cost.
A Protective Stance
The Potions classroom buzzed with activity as students prepared ingredients for their potions. Draco and Y/n worked at neighboring desks, casting occasional glances at each other. Draco's focus was split between his potion and the desire to ensure Y/n's safety, even when he wasn't by her side.
Meanwhile, Theo and Blaise, who were seated in the back row, exchanged a knowing glance. Theo nudged Blaise with his elbow, gesturing toward Y/n, who was momentarily distracted while stirring her potion.
"I'll be right back," Blaise said quietly, making his way toward Y/n's desk.
As Y/n looked up, she found Blaise standing beside her, a protective glint in his eyes. He leaned in and whispered, "Need any help with that potion Y/n/n?"
She smiled gratefully, recognizing the genuine concern in his voice. "I think I've got it, but thank you, Blaise."
Blaise nodded and returned to his seat, shooting a reassuring look at Draco. Y/n felt a warm sense of security knowing that Draco's friends cared for her well-being just as much as he did.
A Watchful Eye
In the library , Y/n sat on a plush armchair, engrossed in a book. The crackling fireplace cast a warm glow on her face as she read, occasionally running her fingers through her hair. Unbeknownst to her, Theo and Blaise had taken it upon themselves to keep a watchful eye from a distance.
Theo leaned against a nearby bookshelf, his gaze fixed on Y/n. "She's too engrossed in that book. What if someone tries to bother her?"
Blaise, ever the rational one, replied, "Relax, Theo. She's more than capable of handling herself. But it never hurts to be cautious."
Just as he finished speaking, a group of rowdy Gryffindor boys approached Y/n, eyeing her with mischievous intent. Sensing trouble, Blaise straightened up, ready to intervene.
Before he could make a move, Y/n closed her book with a determined look on her face. She stood up, her eyes flashing with confidence. "If any of you boys think you can intimidate me, think again. I won't hesitate to hex you into next week."
Theo and Blaise exchanged impressed smiles as the group of boys, taken aback by her fierce demeanor, backed off and left Y/n alone.
Standing Up for Y/n
It was a chilly evening at Hogwarts, and the students had gathered in the courtyard, enjoying the festivities of the Yule Ball. Y/n, in her flowing gown, looked resplendent as she twirled across the dance floor with Draco by her side. They had managed to steal a moment away from the crowd, reveling in their newfound affection.
However, as they passed a group of Ravenclaw students, whispers and jeers followed in their wake. Y/n's smile wavered, her grip on Draco's hand tightening. Sensing her unease, Draco's protective instincts kicked in, his grey eyes narrowing with determination.
But before he could confront the Ravenclaws, Theo and Blaise stepped forward, intercepting the group. Theo's voice rang out, laced with authority. "If any of you dare to insult Y/n, you'll answer to all of us."
The Ravenclaws faltered, their mocking expressions turning into ones of caution. Blaise, his voice dripping with warning, added, "She's Draco's girl. Show some respect."
The scene shifted, and years passed, but the protectiveness of Theo and Blaise remained steadfast.
Theo and Blaise's Unwavering Protection
Years had passed since their Hogwarts days, and Draco and Y/n were now happily married. Their home was a sanctuary where they built a life together, shielded from the remnants of their past. Yet, Theo and Blaise's protective instincts remained as strong as ever.
On a sunny afternoon, Draco had to attend an urgent meeting at the Ministry, leaving Y/n at home. Sensing Draco's absence, Theo and Blaise decided to pay her a visit.
Y/n welcomed them with a warm smile and invited them inside. As they settled in the cozy living room, Theo couldn't help but voice his concern. "You know, Y/n/n, we'll always be here for you, even when Draco isn't around. You're like family to us."
Blaise nodded, his voice filled with genuine affection. "You're our sister, Y/n/n, and we won't let anything or anyone harm you. Not now, not ever."
Y/n's eyes shimmered with gratitude as she squeezed their hands. "Thank you, boys. I know I'm safe with you by my side. Draco is lucky to have you both and so am I."
A Protective Gesture
In the late evening, Draco returned home from his long day at the Ministry. He found Y/n, Theo, and Blaise gathered in the living room, engaged in a lighthearted conversation. Draco's eyes softened as he took in the sight of his wife and friends, their bond unbreakable.
As he approached Y/n, Draco noticed something different. On her wrist, she wore a delicate silver bracelet adorned with protective charms. It was a gift from Theo and Blaise, a symbol of their unwavering love and protection.
Draco's heart swelled with gratitude as he leaned down to kiss Y/n's forehead. "Thank you for looking after my love when I'm away, you two. I couldn't ask for better friends."
Theo smirked playfully, his eyes twinkling. "We prefer to call it 'keeping your darling safe,' Draco."
Blaise chuckled and added, "Besides, who else is going to make sure your wife doesn't hex anyone who dares to cross her?"
A Night Out
Draco and Y/n, stepped into a bustling wizarding pub, hand in hand. The dimly lit room was filled with laughter and chatter, but Draco's sharp eyes scanned the crowd, ever vigilant for any potential threat.
Unbeknownst to them, Theo and Blaise had been observing their every move from a corner table. They exchanged a knowing look and rose to their feet, determined to ensure Y/n's safety. As Draco and Y/n settled at the bar, engaged in light banter, Theo and Blaise positioned themselves strategically around the room, their presence a silent shield.
A Jealous Encounter
At a lavish wizarding event, Y/n, adorned in an elegant gown, radiated beauty and grace. Draco, unable to tear his eyes away from her, held her possessively by his side. They mingled with the elite, the envy of many.
However, as the night progressed, an admirer approached Y/n, his intentions not entirely pure. Draco's instincts flared, but before he could intervene, Blaise smoothly intercepted the intruder, his eyes flashing with warning. "I believe she's taken."
The admirer retreated, realizing he had underestimated the strength of Y/n's protectors. Blaise turned to Y/n, a playful grin on his face. "Seems like we still have to remind people she's yours, Draco."
The Next Generation of Protection
In the cozy confines of Draco and Y/n's home, Scorpius, their young son, played with his toy broomstick, his grey eyes reflecting the innocent joy of childhood. Draco watched him fondly, his heart swelling with pride and love.
Theo and Blaise, now older but no less protective, sat nearby, their eyes trained on Scorpius. Blaise's voice held a hint of amusement. "Looks like Scorpius is going to have his own set of protectors someday."
Theo chuckled, his gaze never leaving the young boy. "Indeed. And we'll be right here, ensuring his happiness and safety, just like we did for his parents."
As the years went by, Draco's friends remained steadfast in their protective nature, ensuring that Y/n, their once-archnemesis-turned-love, would always feel safe and cherished, surrounded by the unwavering loyalty of those closest to Draco's heart.

A Night at the Museum
Blaise Zabini x F reader/pure fluff - 1.4k. This is a little special request fic for my sweet friend @thatdammchickennugget a very delayed birthday post. Where your boyfriend Blaise takes you for your birthday to your favourite place. Pretty divider found here.

The bustling city of London nightlife rushes past you as the car pulls to a halt, the darkness of the window conceals the reveal of your location. You look over at Blaise sitting beside you, his hand enveloping yours, giving it a gentle squeeze and a soft smile before he exits the car.
Blaise hadn’t let a word slip on what the plans for your birthday were, keeping it a complete surprise. Though you felt you already knew and you hated how you instantly felt disappointed. You had struggled to not show your dismay when all day there had been no mentions of leaving the castle. The only thing you'd asked for was a visit to see the dinosaur exhibit at the National History Museum.
When Blaise had left out a gorgeous violet dress instructing you to be ready by seven, you only felt your heart plummet more at the thought of finishing your birthday with just a dinner. You were grateful nethertheless, but it stung thinking that Blaise had forgotten your wishes.
Exiting the car, you thank the chauffeur as they hold the door for you, Blaise instantly appearing by your side, looping your arm with his. As your eyes gaze lovingly upwards, you drink in how bloody delicious Blaise looks in his suit. Never one to shy away from an opportunity of embellishment for any occasion, making sure he matched his tie with the colour of your dress. When his oh-so pretty brown eyes meet yours, you feel stupid for thinking so badly of his decisions, realising you can’t really complain with such pleasant company.
As you walk with him, you turn your attention away from Blaise and take in the sight before you, a whirlwind of emotions hitting you. Your face contorts into a mix of delight and surprise when you realize you're standing outside the Museum. You grin excitedly, hearing Blaise chuckle at your adorable reaction. Before your face falls in confusion, “What are we doing here now? Isn’t it closed?”
Blaise rolls his eyes playfully, scoffing, “Come on now, it’s me. I have connections.” He then gives you a delectable grin, leading you up the grand stairs towards the entrance. His heart warms seeing how your eyes beam with warmth, a bubble of energy exploding out of you. His brow raises, feigning fake hurt as he adds, “Didn’t think I’d forget, did you, sweetheart?”
A deep chuckle leaves his lips, seeing your guilty expression, his eyes zoning in on how you bite your lip sheepishly. Your shoulders pull, shrugging, as you squeeze his arm softly. A sweet smile convulsing from your previous expression, “Oops, maybe, but I’m so glad we’re here!” Blaise shakes his head, muttering at your lack of faith in him, teasing you softly, “How dare you doubt me.” His hands squeeze your waist, enticing a squeal of laughter bellowing out of you at the ticklish feeling.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” your words fall between laughs. "Will a kiss make you forgive me?” His hands fall from your waist at your offer, manoeuvring to take hold, caressing your face. He’s not one to ever turn down a kiss from you, and within seconds, his lips are on yours. Passion flushes through you at the quick but heated kiss, your lips not seeming to want to leave his.
His eyes gleamed, relislishing in your eager reaction, “I’d love to keep kissing you till you melt like honey in my arms, but I have waiting plans for us. Come on.”
Blaise loops his arms through yours, guiding you around, allowing the two of you to stop whenever something catches your eye. You’d been to the museum a few times but never had the chance to see the dinosaur exhibit yet. Your excitement levels reach new heights when Blaise leads you into the next room, revealing what you’ve been waiting for.
Your eyes widen and you freeze in your tracks, taking in the magnificent sight of the large Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton displayed in front of you. You move, leaving Blaise’s side, craning your neck upwards to inspect the 40 feet long bone structure.
Marveling over the incredible skeleton, you stare up brightly with fascination, unable to hold back any ounces of happiness. You’d had a deep love for dinosaurs since you were a child, always dreaming of being able to discover life sized T-Rex bones. A wish that was forced to change to just seeing them up close in a museum after you found out about Hogwarts and witchcraft.
Blaise follows slowly behind you, his hands slipping into his pockets, his eyes never leaving you, watching loving every moment of your reaction. The way your face lit up, unable to contain your giddiness as you gazed up at the dinosaur. Sparks heat within his chest, his love for you growing with every minute. “Wow! It's even bigger than I thought. It’s huge!” wonderment is laced within your words for the extraordinary extinct being.
Blaise chuckles, his hands finding their natural spot on your waist as he stands behind you, “Pretty cool, huh.” He holds back any innuendos, not wanting to ruin the moment for you. He presses a soft kiss to your temple, whispering, “Happy Birthday, beautiful.” Your attention quickly recentered back towards your thoughtful boyfriend.
Turning around in his arms, you grin happily, springing up on your tiptoes to pull him in for a sweet kiss, expressing your gratitude. “Thank you! Thank you! You’re truly the best!”
He laughs at your cute appreciation, leaning down again to press a kiss to your forehead. “Come on, there's still more to see.”
⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ ˚。⋆ Sitting at the table dressed for two, you grin appreciatively admiring the bouquet of sunflowers Blaise had gifted you. Your gaze once again drifts from the beautiful candlelit dinner back up to the gigantic dinosaur hovering above the two of you. “I still can’t get over how you pulled this off!” It really was such a special gift, and you loved how well Blaise knew you.
Blaise squeezes your hand gently, enjoying the warmth that spreads from your touch, his eyes twinkling at you still fanning over his present. His eyes soften, gazing at you with adoration, smiling lovingly. “Have I told you how gorgeous you look tonight?”
Warm hints of chocolate fill your vision, your face flushing with heat as you grin back at him. “You have, but I'll never turn down a compliment from someone as handsome as you.” Blaise, being the gentleman he is, hadn’t even let you finish doing your hair before he was throwing compliment after compliment at you.
As you finish your meal, you sit relaxed once again, unable to stop switching your gaze between marveling at the skeleton and your charming boyfriend. It was the perfect evening, and one of your best birthdays yet. The quietness of the museum never felt eerie, the space easily filled with wholesome conversation shared between the two of you.
Blaise stands suddenly, checking the surroundings for any of the attending staff. Once he’s sure it's clear, he reaches his hand out for you. “Come on, I have one last surprise.” Startled by the sudden change of pace, your brows furrow as you accept his hand, being pulled gently behind him.
Following behind Blaise, your curiosity peaks as he leads the two of you to a more secluded section of the museum. Cheeky thoughts spur through your mind, heat rushing up at what you could be doing. The dark room quickly is illuminated and you see Blaise raise his wand, enticing a gasp from you. “Put that away!” your eyes frantically search around for any muggles as you attempt to lower his wand.
He chuckles, swatting your hands softly. “Trust me, woman.” With a flick of his wand, a small burst of light appears and you turn slowly at the sound of cracking bones. Having been too busy caught up in Blaise’s illegal actions, you hadn’t noticed where you now stood.
Your eyes widening at the scene of a tiny baby fossilised Brontosaurus moving. The small thing stretches its long neck, the bones rattling, and it releases a loud coo. Your hands fly over your mouth in excitement as you squeeze Blaise’s arm.
“What the heck this is so cool!” Giggling all worry about muggles thrown out the window as you grin, caught up in the amazement and the power of magic.
Blaise leans over, kissing your head, his arm pulling you into his hard body for a quick embrace. He whispers, “You got two minutes before the spell wears off. I’ll distract the muggles.” He turns to leave, giving you a small wink, before he shuts the door, leaving you alone with your special gift.

Female Harry Potter / Blaise Zabini
Thank you 🌸
Heiress Harriet Potter bites her tongue so that she won't cackle in Heir Draco Malfoy's face when Conte Blaise Zabini wraps his arms around her waist and tugs her back against his chest.
"What is the meaning of this?" Draco demands, his fair complexion turning ruddy.
Blaise nuzzles his face against the bare skin of Harriet's neck and purrs, "She's too fierce for you, Draco; you can thank me at any time for snagging her away and protecting your ego."
Draco splutters as Harriet loses control and cackles with laughter, tears pricking her eyes as Draco eventually huffs and stomps away like a child.
When Harriet can finally speak, she kisses Blaise's chiseled jawline and says, "You owe me a courtship offer."

Blaise Zabini x Hufflepuff!reader
A/N: Probably not canon but I tried my best because there need to be more fics for Blaise.
Summary: Eavesdropping on your crush and his friend has embarrassing consequences.
Word Count: 3.3k
Throughout your time at Hogwarts Blaise Zabini was a shadow. You knew he was there but he never made himself known, honestly you could count on your hand the number of times you’d heard his voice. Despite his rather rowdy group of friends, he never engaged in their shenanigans.
When Draco and Crabbe would go about taunting their favorite orphan Blaise would remain in the background. Never standing up for him but never making things worse either. You suppose you were the only one to take the time to observe such details. The crush you’d had on him since 1st year was obvious to no one outside of your friend group, and he never let you live it down.
Every once in a while they would ask what it was that you saw in him but even you couldn’t answer that question. Well, you could but they wouldn’t like the answer. No one could deny the boy was handsome, he took after his striking mother. But one of the bigger downsides was his problematic view of muggles. His silence spoke volumes, proving you didn’t always have to be loud with your opinions.
Although you were a Hufflepuff the two of your paths crossed more often than not. In Snape’s class you were seated in front of him and Theodore Nott, allowing you to hear all the things you would miss from across the room. They usually consisted of funny anecdotes and a few pieces of gossip. However, one particular conversation from a few days ago played in your mind.
“So have you thought about-” Theodore’s question is cut short by a slightly annoyed Blaise.
“No.” Blaise leaves no room for back talk but that wouldn’t stop Theo.
“Look it’s just a one-time thing, you don’t even have to do anything with her just keep her away from the room.” Theo is practically begging but Blaise pays no mind.
“Why don’t you just tell her to give you two a couple of hours, that should be more than enough time no?” Unsurprisingly Blaise is as sharp as he looks.
“I apologize for trying to hook you up with a pretty girl. How rude of me.” Theo’s exasperation has Blaise concealing his laugh through a cough.
“She’s not my type.” Blaise’s simple answer piques your interest.
“Yeah yeah maybe if you lowered your impossible standards you wouldn’t be so damn rigid.” Theodore got him back for his earlier comment.
“My standards will stay where they’re at.” You almost laugh at the offense in his voice.
“So you’re telling me there’s no girl in Hogwarts that meets your criteria.” You slightly lean back on your stool unable to help yourself.
“Never said there wasn’t.” You roll your eyes at Blaise’s nonchalant response as if this is any of your business.
“Enough with the vague answers, what’s her name?” You can see Theodore isn’t above whining.
“Why in the bloody hell would I tell you that?” Blaise’s tone is laced with humor.
“So she’s not in our house then?” Theo’s interest seems to be at the same level as yours.
“No, she’s a …” Silently you curse to yourself, upset that you missed the most important piece of information from the conversation. While you marinate in your disappointment you overestimate your balance and tip backward. The embarrassing squeal that leaves your mouth before you hit the floor has the class and Snape turning in your direction. If that wasn’t bad enough Theo and Blaise poke their heads over their desk.
Your face is on fire when you make eye contact with Blaise. His brown eyes bore into you and if words had been exchanged between you two there would be a lump forming in your throat. Theodore tries to rein in his smile until you can’t see him. Before things can become even more awkward you carefully hoist yourself up to deal with the consequences of your actions.
Once Snape dismissed the class you wasted no time hot tailing it out of there.
Lucky for you that was on a Friday so you were able to head straight to your room and only come out for dinner. On Saturday you head to the library for some peaceful reading and because most students are going to Diagon Alley you basically get the place to yourself. You gathered three books a fantasy romance, a murder mystery, and a historical romance.
Muggle studies brought you to some very interesting literature that you couldn’t put down. For some reason or another, they were a lot more raunchy in their writing. But you couldn’t say you didn’t enjoy the debauchery. Based on those books alone you had a hard time seeing why so many wizards had issues with muggles.
Though you had some experiences with boys around Hogwarts it was nothing like the books you had read. Despite the very descriptive paragraphs written about any male lead, you always pictured the same boy. Perhaps that’s why you loved the brooding leads over the bubbly ones. Pride and Prejudice struck a chord within you.
Short-lived is your peace when the shadow of someone standing over you interrupts you. You trail your eyes up their body before matching a face to a name. Theodore. Quickly you grab your bookmark before he can read any of the words on the page. The silence between you two is deafening, you figured he would be the first to engage since he came up to you.
“Uh did you need something?” You don’t hide the confusion in your face as he takes a seat next to you.
“I wanted to check on you after your fall but you ran off so quickly.” His tone implied there was more to it.
“Just a bruised ego.” You nod your head and stare off into the distance to avoid looking at Theo.
“Did you have fun eavesdropping on me and Bee’s conversation?” A smirk planted itself on his face and you wanted to wipe it off.
“I wasn-” You try to defend yourself.
“Let’s not lie. I saw you lean back, not to mention the staring.” Your jaw drops at how he has you figured out. “It’s not obvious or anything but when you put it all together.”
With nothing to say for yourself you just sit there. You don’t want to admit you have a crush to said crush’s best friend. Something tells you he has a big mouth.
“You know I’m pretty sure he’s interested in you.” Theo leaned closer to you. “He likes his girls quiet and innocent looking.”
Hook.
“What makes you so sure it’s me?” You refuse to appear too excited in spite of your racing heart.
“Before you fell he told me she’s a Hufflepuff.” His answer, although very enticing, still doesn’t qualify you.
Line.
“Still doesn’t mean it’s me.” Theo rolls his eyes at your stubbornness.
“Godrick you two are a match made in heaven.” He pinches the bridge of his nose to regain his patience before addressing you again. “I’ve known Blaise most of my life, I know exactly what he looks for in his women. When he told me your house it wasn’t that hard to figure out.”
“What exactly does he like in his women? You two didn’t exactly go into detail the other day.” Theodore laughs at your sudden brazen manner.
“He has a thing for obedient quiet girls, bonus points if you’re inexperienced. Intelligence is as important as looks, and you’ve got the doe-eyed thing going for you. Plus he may or may not have been checking you out.” It’s almost like Theodore is dangling your favorite candy in front of you waiting for you to bite.
Sinker.
“All that is great but what am I supposed to do?” The last thing you needed was to embarrass yourself further in front of Blaise.
“Do I have to do everything?” He shoots back at you.
“Yes! Did you forget I fell on my ass in front of him?” You frown as you think of the incident again. “I’m not going up to him unless you have a full script for me to use.”
Theo laughs at your ridiculousness, he can’t understand what’s so intimidating about going up to his best friend. Even when they first met he was never afraid to annoy him. He supposes he understands your position, you are a rather bashful girl.
“Tell you what, a few of us are planning on hanging out in our common room and you should stop by.” Theo sees the objection you’re about to throw at him but he doesn’t let you start. “You’ll know me and Blaise, that’s more than enough. So I’ll see you around 7?” He speeds away before you can give him an answer.
You slump your shoulders when you realize you didn’t ask him what the dress code was. After all it was just a group of friends, but they are Slytherins.
………
By the time you left your dorm it was already 7:30. You’d combed through your wardrobe for something casual but not too casual, and ultimately you put on a jumpsuit with a black turtleneck. You played with your already-done hair before spritzing on some muggle perfume you purchased at home.
The hallways were bare making your secret trip to the Slytherin common room less nerve-wracking. When you make it to the entrance hall you are surprised to see Theo leaning against the wall, seemingly waiting for you.
“And here I thought you’d chicken out. Was it that I said he was checking you out?” He smirks when he realizes that’s what got you to come out.
“Whatever.” You roll your eyes. “I look okay right?” You awkwardly look around as Theodore takes your outfit in.
“Zabini would approve.” He turns to open the door leading to the hallway of steps that held the topic of this conversation. You find yourself entranced by the darkness of the hallway, such a contrast to every other hallway in this castle.
“Sorry about this, the password changes often.” Your only reply is to nod and smile. Taking a discrete deep breath you follow after Theo into a dark green-tinged room. The low light gives your eyes a nice reprieve. When you focus on the tufted furniture you notice they opted for darker green. Most of the Slytherins pay you no mind because they all remain engrossed in their conversations.
“The hell is she doing here?” The question from Draco causes Blaise, Pansy, and Goyle to follow Draco’s line of sight. Blaise sets his sights on you and Theodore, he can’t believe Nott figured it out that quick. All he told him was your house. When he makes eye contact with Theo he sees the smirk plastering his face.
“Don’t be a brat Malfoy.” Blaise wouldn’t mind your company and he didn’t want Draco to ruin it.
As you approach with Theo you note the only spots open are Blaise or Pansy. Blaise is delighted when you choose the seat next to him.
“Would you like something to drink?” Blaise doesn’t waste his opportunity of seeing you in a more intimate setting. “Alcoholic not alcoholic?”
“Alcoholic please and I’ll just drink whatever you are.” At your request, Blaise grabbed an empty glass and began filling it with Single-malt whiskey. “You know your common room is almost as comfy as ours.”
“We have the better uniforms.” He slides your drink towards you and you waste no time taking your first sip. “I couldn’t imagine having a color scheme as ghastly as yellow and black.”
“This coming from the one with a dungeon for a common room.” Heat courses through your body at this exchange and you laugh. Now that the glass in your hand is half-empty, the tension you felt before eases out of your body.
“How did Nott wrangle you to the dungeon then?” Blaise knew why Theo brought you here but not why you were sitting next to him.
“He told me you were practically begging for my company, so I saw fit to indulge you.” The glass was right beneath your plump lips, giving Blaise an excuse to let his eyes fall.
“I appreciate the charity.” The back and forth unknowingly prompted the two of you to lean closer to one another. Now the both of you were leaning over the armrest closest to the other.
“You know despite the tacky color scheme you manage to make it charming.” Blaise may have been on the reserved side but if his mother taught him anything it was the gift of seduction. Based on the way your eyes brighten, he would say he was the top student.
“I think this is the most I’ve ever heard you speak.” You end your observation with another sip of whiskey, only to see you’ve just finished your first glass.
Blaise reaches for the whiskey waiting for your objection before pouring you another glass. You take the time to look at his profile up close. There isn’t anyone at Hogwarts or otherwise as regal as he was, and it was no surprise considering who his mother is. It seems that not only does he look like her, he’s just as elegant. Even by pouring a damn glass of whiskey.
“It’s also the first you’re around me outside of our classes darling.” His term of endearment warms your face.
“I wonder who’s fault that is.” The whiskey has loosened your lips allowing all of your thoughts to leave straight through your mouth.
“I’ve never seen you this animated myself.” He looks at you as if he’s trying to commit his vision to memory. “It’s nice.”
Truthfully it was, Blaise couldn’t remember the last time he had enjoyed a conversation outside of the usual three people he talked to every day. Though he could probably get any woman he was interested in relationship never called to him. Maybe it was the revolving door of men his mother insisted he calls ‘Dad’ or the promise of how different it’ll be each time.
But you were the glaring opposite of his mother, maybe that’s why he felt such comfort in his daydreams of you. If you’re muggle perfume was anything to go by you were as sweet as candy. The way your curls framed your face was something he’d only seen in paintings across his mother’s estate.
“So-” Your sentence was cut short by the abrupt arrival of Professor Snape. Low curses went around the table as they got rid of the whiskey and other unsavorable things Snape would disapprove of. You didn’t dare turn, knowing your best shot was to keep your back to him but that didn’t stop the panic from making its way onto your face.
Blaise communicates nothing through his face as he locks eyes with Theodore across the table. When he turns back to you he slides his hand over your forearm in a comforting manner. “I’ll get you out.” His thumb rubbing gentle circles distracts you from his important question and he repeats your name.
“Okay.” When your eyes snap back to his you find yourself calming down. Your right-hand reaches for your glass to down it before disposing of the evidence like everyone else. Theo heads in the direction you can only assume Snape is in.
“Alright, we should head closer to the door and wait there.” The hand that sits on your forearm glides its way past your shoulder and sits between your shoulder blades. He helps to steady you as you stand up and wobble from the whiskey.
The hand on your back disappears and before you can complain Blaise envelopes his left hand over your right. His tall broad stature provides coverage of your face as the two of you slink up to the front. Snape’s back faces the pair of you while Theo talks his head off about nothing. Assuming he’d had enough Snape begins walking away toward the back of the room where the group previously was. Blaise takes the opportunity to slip out with you and keeps hold of your hand throughout climbing back up the stairs.
With the full effects of the whiskey settling in you underestimate your step and almost trip but your other hand places a death grip on Blaise’s arm. Your giggles echo in the empty staircase as Blaise brings his right hand around to steady your waist. He loves the jovial sound that comes from you so effortlessly.
“Such a gentleman.” Before the logical part of you can stop yourself you give Zabini a peck on his cheek. “Thank you.”
For the first time Blaise is truly shocked, he attempts to keep up his cool guy act but his face is scorching where your soft lips touch. The feeling makes him want the earth to swallow him whole. He’s afraid to open his mouth and embarrass himself so he just nods and continues leading you. The both of you stop at the top of the steps and he peeks his head out of the door to make sure Filch isn’t lurking about. When he’s sure the both of you emerge from the dungeon quietly.
“I lied in the common room, Theodore didn’t say you were begging for my attention. He did tell me what your type was and he was adamant that I was it.” You tilt your head to sneak a glance at him from the corner of your eye.
“And what exactly did that knobhead say was my type.” The smile that breaks out on Blaise’s face when he looks down at you almost has you tripping over your feet again.
“You know obedient quiet girls that are as pretty as they are smart. He said I’ve got the doe-eyed thing down, but I would get bonus points for inexperience.” You roll your eyes at the last bit of his criteria.
Nott may be a lot of things but in this instance he wasn’t wrong. Not entirely, the inexperienced thing doesn’t matter.
“As much as it pains me to admit, and it really does, 90% of that was correct.”
“Then why didn’t you say anything?” You stop in your tracks to stand in front of the frustrating man you for some reason fancy.
“Why didn’t you?” His eyebrows pinch as he peers down at you in exasperation.
“I asked if-” Your childish reply is cut short when Blaise’s lips plant themselves against yours. The hand not holding yours circles your waist before pulling you closer. He separates from you first but you try to chase after him.
“Come on we don’t want to get caught.” His hand around your waist guides you underneath the stairs you take to your dormitory. This time you turn around and get on your tip toes to place your lips against his again. When you tilt your head to deepen the kiss he returns the favor and licks your bottom lip with his tongue. The small gasp you let out is swallowed by him before his tongue explores your mouth.
The heat in your lower stomach feels the same as when you read those raunchy muggle books. Your hands have a mind of their own as they find their way up his biceps to wrap around his neck. Blaise loves how your body has molded itself against his, you’re so pliable in his hands. Your teeth gently sink into his lower lip and slightly pull causing a guttural groan to leave Blaise’s swollen lips.
“We have to stop love.” His insistence didn’t stop you from kissing around his mouth and neck. He can’t blame you he didn’t even mean the words that came out of his mouth. The last thing he wants is for you to leave his arms but not only would you two get caught, he could feel the strain of his pants trying to contain his excitement.
“Godrick.” Blaise lost all his willpower to stop your ministrations. The slight whine in his voice does unexplainable things to your brain chemistry, but you finally pull away from his neck. The rise and fall of your chest matches with Blaise and all you two can do is stare. He chances a look at your swollen lips wishing he could spend all night talking with you along the grounds.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then?” He places his hand under your chin and lets his thumb run along your bottom lip while he awaits your answer.
“Yes.” As pleasing as your answer is Blaise focuses his eyes on yours, and the way they gleam at him. He releases his hand from your face and watches you make your way to the entrance of your dormitory before heading back to his.

Hii can I request a Draco x female reader in where Draco is crushing on reader but reader is oblivious and dense?<33
Thank you for your request! I´m finally back from my vacation (it hasn´t been long enough by any means) and need to get back into writing again now, so I really hope this turned out alright. But basically, these are about 7k words of Draco simping for the reader (maybe a bit too much to actually be in his character). However it was really fun to write, so I hope you´ll enjoy reading.
Clueless
Draco´s head snapped around when he heard a familiar giggle only a few meters away from him. The Professor standing in front of the class long forgotten, he watched with widened eyes, how you nudged Pansy playfully, before the Slytherin girl whispered something into your ear, making you burst into laughter once more. Quickly, you brought a hand to your mouth, trying to stifle the sounds threatening to escape it. Once you had somewhat managed to calm down again, you straightened your back and took a deep breath, before you leant over to Pansy, apparently wanting to answer whatever she had just told you, but when your gaze caught something in front of you, you seemed to change your mind, because instead, you grabbed the quill that until now had been lying on your table uselessly and scribbled something on a piece of parchment, before you lowered your head, looking into the book in front of you. Draco watched in awe how you brought the tip of your quill to your lips as you got lost in the text you were reading. Even though he couldn’t be sure over the distance between the two of you, Draco strongly suspected, that by now there would be a faint stain of ink smudged over your lips. You narrowed your eyes, bringing your head even closer to the book, seemingly coming to a part of the text that was harder to understand than the one before. Or maybe just harder to decipher. The ink in the old books you were working with was from time to time almost fainted, and the curved font itself was already hard enough to read. But regardless of what had caused the shift in your posture, it made some strands of hair fall into your face. But while Draco couldn’t help but admire how perfectly they framed the shape of your face, only stressing your most beautiful – so pretty much every single one of your – features, you didn’t even seem to notice, too lost in the world of the book you were currently working with. Just like Draco got lost in you. Oh, how much he wanted to brush that hair out of your face, taking in every single detail of it, while he would twirl those strands of hair around his fingers. And he could brush away the ink that would stain your pretty lips with his thump tenderly or he could just press his lips on yours so it would faint just as well and then he would…
“Very well, Mr. Malfoy, since apparently you have already finished your task, would you mind sharing your results with the rest of the class?”
Draco snapped out of his trance and blinked up in irritation. Professor McGonagall was standing in front of him, looking at him with narrowed eyes, her lips pursed. Slowly, the Slytherin began to fade back into the world surrounding him. Because unlike it had felt for him only seconds ago, it wasn’t just you and him in this room, but instead, the entire transfiguration class, including the Professor. And every single one of those people was now looking at him. Draco felt their eyes lingering on him and cursed himself. How could he have been so stupid to let himself get distracted that easily simply by how absolutely effortlessly beautiful you looked? But now he would have to face the consequences. He glared up at the Professor, trying to give his face a humble look.
“Excuse me, Professor, but I´m not finished yet.”
“It looks more like you haven’t even started.”, Professor McGonagall returned with a disapproving look at his empty parchment.
“I was still reading. I´ll start the essay soon.”, Draco promised, trying to prevent his face from heating up.
“Well, I suggest next time you will open the book to do so.”
He heard his classmates snickering in the background. Draco clenched his jaw and had to try his hardest to not take an issue with Professor McGonagall. He knew this would only make things worse. If that was even possible right now. Because after all, he was not only being humiliated in front of the entire class but also you. And that was something Draco didn’t even dare to think about.
“At the end of the lesson I expect an entire role of parchment on my desk from you, Mr. Malfoy.”, the Professor spoke up again. “And if you won´t be able to finish it today, you will hand it in tomorrow. Is that clear?”
Draco nodded slowly, teeth gritted. Professor McGonagall knew very well that it was sheer impossible to finish the essay in this lesson and that this afternoon, Draco would have to be at the pitch for some Quidditch practice. He was certain that if he would have been one of the Professor´s precious Gryffindors, especially one of those of the Quidditch team, she wouldn’t have been that hard on him. He was sure of that. Still, he knew he wouldn’t win this argument, so he kept his mouth shut.
Professor McGonagall nodded.
“Very well then.”, she said, before turning around, shifting her focus to his classmates again.
Draco let out a small sigh, before letting his gaze wander around the classroom. He could see some of the Gryffindors shooting him some gleeful glances, but Draco just ignored them. It wasn’t until his gaze settled on you, that his haughty façade started to crumble. Because the moment his gaze settled on you, you looked up from your book as well, your gaze meeting his. Draco´s heart got stuck in his throat as you threw the boy a small compassionate smile, before breaking the eye contact and focusing on the book in front of you again.
Draco´s heart was pumping so loud in his ears that he feared you might hear it on the other side of the classroom, but you didn’t look up again. Still, just those few seconds Draco had been in your orbit, made the boy forget why he had been so upset only minutes ago. The Slytherin couldn’t help the small smile that made it to his face. Maybe all the trouble in this lesson had been worth it after all.
And when Draco heard Blaise´s amused voice mutter beside him: “You´ve got it bad, man.”, he couldn’t even argue with it.
Later that day you were sitting in the common room with Pansy, chatting about all the world and his wife. At some point, Draco´s strange behaviour earlier that day came up as well. But while Pansy was snickering over how absolutely dumbfounded Draco had looked when Professor McGonagall had pointed out that the boy hadn’t even opened the book he had claimed to read, you rather felt sorry for the fellow Slytherin.
“Don’t be so hard on him, Pansy, I´m sure there was a reason that he was so distracted in that lesson.”
“So? If we all wouldn’t have to work just because we have a reason not to do so, I wouldn´t be present in half of the classes.”
“Oh please, what good reason would you have to miss our lessons?”
“They bore me.”, Pansy sighed out dramatically. “And the people annoy me.”
“Even though I totally understand, I´m rather sure that this is not a valid reason.”, you giggled.
“And what do you think Draco´s oh-so-mysterious, understandable and totally important excuse was?”
You shrugged your shoulders. Because even though Draco and you already knew each other for several years and you were rather close – at least by Draco´s standards – and you were quite curious about what had been on the boy´s mind earlier, you had absolutely no idea what could have distracted him that much that he would forget absolutely everything around him.
“You really have no idea?”, Pansy asked, as she glanced at you, looking almost irritated. “Absolutely none?”
“Do you?”, you responded.
Now it was on Pansy to shrug her shoulders, while her gaze dropped down to her lap, and she started fiddling with her hands.
“But regardless of that,”, you continued, not even noticing how Pansy relaxed next to you when you dropped the topic, “I think McGonagall was too hard on him. I mean, we all zone out from time to time, don´t we? And she really didn’t need to give him that much of extra work. That´s just unfair. Especially because she knows for sure that Draco has training today. If she already wants to give him some extra work, she could at least have given him some more time, don’t you think?”
But before Pansy could open her mouth to agree with you, the door opened, and a rather annoyed-looking Draco entered the common room. The frown he held on his face, however, softened immediately, the second he spotted Pansy and you sitting on one of the couches. Quickly, he made his way over to you - not without barking at some first years, standing in his way – and let himself fall on the couch as well, directly next to you.
“For real? In your jersey?”, you frowned. Not that you actually had something against the blond boy wearing his Quidditch uniform, that looked unfairly good on him, actually it was quite the opposite, but the last thing you needed today was some mud smudged over the couches and – due to the fact Draco had by now wrapped an arm around your shoulder – also all over your clothes.
But Draco only gave you a smug grin.
“Relax, love. I already showered and put on a new one. Only for you obviously. I know how much you like to see me in it.”, he winked.
You cursed the moment you had admitted to the blond boy in a moment of weakness that you actually thought that he looked rather good in his jersey. This, however, had been in your second year at Hogwarts, when Draco had joined the team and had been really nervous about his first actual game. And even though you had only said it back then to calm him down – and because it was the truth after all – until this very day, several years later, Draco still loved to remind you of the fact that you had called him handsome back then at every chance.
“If you say so.”, you grumbled.
Still, you finally relaxed into his arms and shuffled a bit closer. You had to actively keep yourself from inhaling his scent deeply. You simply adored it. For you, it felt like home. Simple as that.
“I guess that´s my call.”, Pansy grinned, as she got on her feet. “Enjoy your time, you two.”
You looked at your friend with narrowed eyes.
“Why you wanna leave? We still got some time before dinner.”
“Yeah, but I really don’t want to disturb the two of you.”, she winked.
“You know you could never disturb us, Pansy.”, you laughed, while Draco muttered something incomprehensible under his breath.
“Also, I am very sure that Blaise needs my help with… something. See you around.”
And with that, Pansy disappeared quickly, leaving Draco and you behind.
“That was strange, wasn’t it?”, you asked the boy next to you, who just shrugged his shoulders in response.
“It´s Pansy. What did you expect?”
You nudged him.
“Careful, that´s my friend you´re talking about. And yours too, by the way.”
“And that´s exactly why I´m allowed to say this. But even when it comes to my so-called friends, I´m thankful for every second that I´m able to steal you from them and have you all for myself.”
You felt the familiar blush creeping onto your cheeks that always appeared whenever Draco made some snarky remarks that could make you suspect that after all, you were something special to him. Just like he was to you. And that bastard was fully aware of the effect he had on you and used it to tease you endlessly about it. Just like he did now. And the only way you knew to answer this was with a just as big smirk as he always held on his face when he told you those things.
“Of course you do. Everyone does. I´m just adorable.”, you said, puffing your chest as much as it was possible now that you were trapped in Draco´s arms.
Said boy just sighed and placed a small kiss on the crown of your head, making you shiver.
“Oh, you have no idea, love.”
But just as you wanted to melt into Draco´s embrace, you felt him tense next to you and curse under his breath.
You sat up again slightly and turned your head to look at him.
“What is it?”
“Nothing.”, Draco sighed, but the lines of worries showed you differently. “Just that stupid homework from McGonagall. I still have to write almost half a role.” He let out another sigh before he pulled you close again. “But that can wait. Right now, I´m exactly where I want to be.”
Even though his words flattered you, you wiggled out of his arms and sat up straight.
“You might be where you want to be but not where you are supposed to. That woman will let you serve detention until the end of the year if you don´t hand in that essay until tomorrow. And I certainly won´t let you pull an all-nighter.”
“This is going to be an all-nighter anyway, love.”, Draco contradicted, but you shook your head in response.
“Not if I´ll help you.”
“(Y/n), no. You don’t have to.”
“But I want to.”, you pouted.
Draco let out a small laugh.
“Oh please! Nobody wants to work on Transfiguration voluntarily.”
“See what I´m willing to do just to spend some more time with you?”, you winked. “Now, c´mon. If we go to the library now we´ll still be able to work for an hour until dinner.”
And if you wouldn’t have been so determined to help Draco out and wouldn’t have strode away with long steps without even waiting for a response, you would have seen how Draco blushed vigorously at your words, justifying that he let you help him not with the fact that he was desperate to spend some more time with you, but reasoning that somehow this extra homework was your fault after all.
You had been wrong. Until it was time for dinner, several centimetres of the parchment were still empty, the blank space promising an all-nighter after all. Even though you might had even been able to finish the task completely, if it wouldn’t have been for Draco getting distracted by the very same thing that had gotten him into sitting here in the first place. Because just as it had been back in class, also here, in the dim light of the candles flickering on the walls, the Slytherin couldn’t help but notice how absolutely perfect you were. And because of that, the quill in Draco´s hand was hovering uselessly over the parchment most of the time, while its owner was busy staring at you, while you flicked through the pages of some books, providing Draco with some information you considered as potentially useful. Unfortunately, most of the words you were saying weren’t even processed by Draco´s mind. No, he was too busy staring at the movement of your lips when you spoke, the way your eyes mirrored the glimmering of the candlelight around you, the slight frown you held on your face when you tried to filter the most important information from the books in front of you, the way your fingers caressed the pages of the old books tenderly and how you…
“Draco? Draco are you even listening?”
The boy let out a quiet groan. Apparently, everything that could go wrong today would also proceed to do so. Because how should he explain to you that while you did your best to help him and sacrifice your free time to do so, he acted ungrateful and didn’t even listen to you without giving away the reason he simply couldn’t concentrate on anything at all as long as you were in the same room as him?
Draco ran a hand over his face before he nodded.
“Of course I am. Go ahead.”
But instead of doing so, you leaned back in your chair and eyed your friend closely.
“It was a tough day for you, wasn’t it?”, you asked, your voice sounding so much more compassionate than Draco thought he deserved.
And while with everyone else, Draco would have firmly denied that he had bad days at all, or would have blamed everyone else but him for everything that had gone wrong today, when it came to you, he simply couldn’t bring himself to argue. So instead, he just shrugged his shoulders in defeat.
But before you could answer, a boy walked up to your table, letting himself fall onto the chair next to you.
“Here you are.”, the Slytherin said, eyes fixed on Draco before he turned around to you. “Fancy to see you too, (Y/n).”
You smiled at him.
“Likewise, Adrian.”
Adrian Pucey mirrored your smile before his attention shifted to Draco again.
“Flint asked me to look for you. After the training today was… expendable, he wants us to meet up after dinner once more to talk about our tactic. At the pitch at nine.”
You saw the indecisiveness in Draco´s eyes as they flickered in between the parchment in front of him, still waiting to get filled by the words he so desperately needed to put down, and the older Slytherin. You knew Draco well enough to know that the boy was fully aware of where he had to set his priorities today, yet you also knew that he most likely wouldn’t dare to contradict Adrian and therefore Marcus Flint, who happened to be the Quidditch captain, himself.
So before Draco could even open his mouth, you quickly stepped in.
“Draco can´t join you tonight.”
The two boys looked at you with irritation, even though you liked to think that Draco looked also thankful at your words.
Adrian raised an eyebrow questioningly.
“So the two of you finally managed to get your act together and go on a date?”, he asked with a cheeky grin. “I´m sorry, (Y/n), but I´m afraid Marcus won´t let this slide as an excuse. Even if it´s a pretty girl like you.”
You let out a small laugh.
“Charming, Adrian, but Draco and I actually have a date tonight.” If you would have paid more attention to Draco than his teammate at that moment, you would have seen how the boy tensed in his chair, trying to hide all the emotion in his eyes at the mere thought of the two of you finally being together in a way, he had always wanted you to be. However, your gaze was fixed on Adrian, as you added: “Just the two of us and a dozen Transfiguration books. I guess you heard what Professor McGonagall did today?”
Adrian nodded, looking at Draco compassionately.
“And there´s no way you can delay the deadline?”
“Not if we want to make sure that dragon won´t let me serve detention during our next game against Gryffindor.”, Draco spit out through gritted teeth. “I bet she´s only been waiting for a chance like this.”
Adrian sighed in defeat.
“Screw it, we can´t risk that. And Flint´s gonna think the same. I´ll talk to him. Maybe you can meet up tomorrow before the next training to give you a summary. But for now, I´ll leave you alone so you can continue this.” He gestured at the books splattered on the table in front of you before he stood up. “Good luck with this. And (Y/n),” He turned around to you, a playful smirk playing around his lips. “Since what Draco and you are doing here is for strictly academic reasons, does that mean I still stand a chance?”
You couldn’t help the blush that crept on your cheeks at his words. It wasn’t like you were actually interested in the older boy, not at all, and you highly doubted that Adrian´s words were anything but a tease, still, his words flattered you.
“Keep on dreaming, Pucey.”, you giggled, not quite able to look him into the eyes, as you were still focused on trying to hide your blush.
“Maybe I will.”, he winked.
But before he could add something, Draco interrupted him.
“Now get lost, Pucey! We still got work to do.”, he barked, his eyes shimmering coldly as he stared at your housemate.
Adrian raised his hands in defence.
“Don´t worry. I´m already gone. She´s all yours.”, he said, before he actually turned around and walked away, leaving Draco and you finally alone again.
When the boy was gone, you slammed the book in front of you shut with a heavy sigh.
“I think we should leave it for now as well. We can continue after dinner in the common room. But now I need something to eat. And I think you do too.”
You looked at the Slytherin sitting on the other side of the table in expectation of a response, but it seemed like Draco hadn’t even heard what you had been saying. Blankly, he stared at the spot Adrien had stood only moments ago, with an intelligible expression on his face.
“Draco? Draco, did you hear me?”, you asked, your eyes flickering between the Slytherin and the blank spot next to you.
“Why did he say this?”, Draco suddenly asked, not even answering your question.
You narrowed your eyes in confusion.
“Who said what?”
“Pucey. This thing about standing a chance with you. Why did he say that?”
You let out an uncertain laugh, not sure why Draco was bringing this up now.
“I don´t know. He was just joking I guess.”, you shrugged.
Draco nodded, still not looking at you.
“Is there something going on between the two of you?”
The laugh that escaped you now, was genuine.
“Adrian and me? Salazar no! Why would you think that?”
“But you get along great, don´t you?”, Draco pressed.
“Yeah. Yeah, I suppose so. I wouldn’t say we are close or anything, but he´s nice. I like him.”
Finally, Draco tore his gaze apart from the blank spot and instead looked at you. You shifted uncomfortably in your seat as his grey eyes raked yours, nothing in his face giving away what he was thinking.
“You like him?”, he spat, stressing the second word as if it was something nasty lying on his tongue.
“Why are you so surprised about it? I mean, he´s everything a Slytherin is supposed to be. Smart and cunning. Plus, he´s a great Quidditch player and he´s actually quite nice, isn’t he?”
“So? Aren´t I all of those things too?”
There it was. After all, his strange behaviour could be once more explained by his pride. Obviously, Draco was all these things as well. Hell, he was so much more than this. And you loved every single part of him. However, his behaviour was from time to time rather… challenging. But you didn’t mind the slightest. Because, unlike many other people, you knew how to deal with it.
You smiled at the boy calmingly.
“Obviously you are. And that is why I like you as well. Well, at least to name a few things.”
Something in Draco´s eyes changed, his anger seemed to subside and made place for something else. Yet, once again, you weren’t quite sure how to read it. Because while Draco seemed to be soothed by your words, there was also a sadness lingering behind the small smile he threw you.
“So, that´s all there is?”, he asked.
You nodded.
“That´s all there is. No earth-shattering friendship. And “, you added after a moment of hesitation, “Also nothing else. No romantic interest or whatever you have been trying to imply.”
“I didn’t imply anything. That´s what you were construing, love.”, Draco answered, with a sly grin on his face, but you noticed how he visibly relaxed into his chair again. A reaction, that made your heart flutter in your chest, just as the stupid nickname he called you from time to time.
But before you could think about any potential deeper meaning behind his words, Draco stood up from his chair and stretched his stiff limbs, a view that made a small sigh leave your lips involuntarily.
“We should really leave for dinner now, don’t you think? I´m already starving.”
“Sure. Great idea, Draco. Why didn’t I think of that?”, you smiled, trying to fight the ironic undertone in your voice. You didn’t quite manage to, but Draco didn’t seem to notice, with his wand he already conducting all the books to their firm places.
“That´s what I´m here for. Always happy to help you, love.”
“What would I only do without you?”, you sighed dramatically.
“Your life would definitely be so much more miserable.”
“Well, I´m afraid I can never allow you to walk out of my life then.”, you smiled at him.
“As if I ever wanted you to.”, Draco muttered under his breath. Only a faint sound in your ears, like the whispering of the wind, and you weren’t quite sure if you had just imagined it. You just really hoped you didn’t.
After dinner, Draco and you were finally able to work on his essay effectively. This was mainly due to the fact that Draco strictly forbade himself to even look at you once until he would have finished the last stroke of his quill.
It was almost midnight when Draco finally set the last dot, ending exactly at the end of the final line. He dropped the quill next to the parchment and leant back in his chair with a heavy sigh.
“And McGonagall really thought this would be a challenge for me. I bet that crazy cat lady was only hoping I would fail so she could get me to serve detention for the rest of the year. But I´m a Malfoy after all. It takes more than a stupid essay to get me down. Don´t you think so too, (Y/n)?”
When you didn’t answer, Draco glanced to the side, where you were sitting. Even when Draco was done with the research you had helped him out with and only had to write the conclusion and had offered you that you could already go to bed, you had refused to do so, suggesting you could proofread the essay after he was done. And even though Draco had assured you that you didn’t have to and if you really wanted to, you could also do so the next morning, you had told him with a shrug of your shoulders that you would wait for him anyway. You were rather sure that you couldn’t fall asleep knowing that while you were lying in your cosy bed, Draco was still up and working on his homework. And that´s what you had told him too, even though you had had to suppress a yawn when you did so.
But now that Draco looked at you, he realized that for once in your life, you had actually been wrong. You could easily fall asleep while he was still working. Because here you were, proofing yourself wrong. A small smile crept on Draco´s lips as he watched you, your head bedded on your arms that you had crossed over the last book you had been reading. You faced Draco, but your eyes were closed, your lips slightly parted, as you breathed steadily. The boy felt a wave of affection washing over him, as he saw you sound asleep like this. Because even though you hadn’t stayed awake like you had promised, you had stayed with him. You had rather fought the sleep by his side until you had eventually lost the battle, than returning to your dorm, leaving him alone. And after all; how could he feel anything else but adoration when you were looking so perfect, even in your sleep. So beautiful and carefree, making Draco believe that even with all the bad things happening in this world, everything would turn out just fine, as long as you would just exist?
He could have sat there all night, watching you sleep, but eventually, the thought settled in, that if you would stay like this for hours, in a probably rather uncomfortable position, your shoulders crouched and your neck twisted, you would wake up in the morning with stiff limbs and probably in pain. And that was something he couldn’t bear to see. Not after everything that you had done for him today. Quickly, Draco considered his possibilities. He couldn’t leave you like this, especially not all by yourself, but he also couldn’t get you to your dorm, since if he would try carrying you up the stairs, he would probably fall and break both of your necks. The Slytherin´s gaze wandered through the by now completely abandoned common room, until it settled on one of the couches. It surely wasn’t perfect, not good enough for you, but it would do for a night.
Draco made his way through the room to the couch, fluffing up the pillows and got the cosiest blanket ready, before he walked back to you. Careful and anxious to wake you up, Draco picked you up, freezing when you slightly shifted in his arms, but you only let out a small sigh, before you melted into his touch, not opening your eyes once.
Finally, Draco reached the couch, laying you down, loosening the tie that you were still wearing around your neck in accordance with the dress code and tucking you in. When he had made sure that you were as comfortable as possible, Draco stopped in his tracks for a second to take in the sight of you. Carefully, he brushed some strands of your hair out of your face, having to resist the urge to press a kiss on your temple.
“Sweet dreams, love.”, he mumbled, before he went to one of the armchairs nearby, and sat down as well. He wouldn’t leave you alone tonight, not only because he just couldn’t bring himself to leave you yet, wanting to be in your presence for as long as possible, but also because he couldn’t bear the thought that you wake up, alone and irritated, confused on how you had gotten there, being all by yourself. No, Draco would be there when you would wake up. He would always be there for you, no matter what. That was the last thought on Draco´s mind before he slowly drifted off into sleep as well, the image of you sleeping angelically on the couch still in sight, even when his eyes were already closed.
When you woke up, you needed a moment to orientate yourself. Only when your eyes got used to the dim light surrounding you, you realised that you were not in your bed, but in the common room. Slowly, the memories of the last evening started to set in. But some parts were missing. You still remembered how you had been sitting at one of the desks with Draco and waiting for him to finish his essay. At some point, your eyes had gotten more and more heavy, but you had refused to close them. You were rather sure that at some point you had failed and fallen asleep.
This however didn’t explain why right now, you were lying on one of the couches, covered with a blanket, while the fire in the fireplace had almost burned down, the only source of light being the embers, still gleaming inside. You sat up and rubbed your eyes, before letting your gaze wander around the room. That´s when it settled on a figure sunken down in one of the armchairs not far away from you, their blond hair reflecting the shimmer of the ember.
You felt the warmth flushing through your body as you watched Draco sitting there, his head resting in one of his hands, a small frown on his face, even though he was sleeping. By now you could somewhat imagine what had happened after you had fallen asleep and the mere thought of Draco taking care of you, making sure you were comfortable, before he passed out in the chair himself, exhausted from the hard and long day, made your heart beating faster in a way only Draco could do. If that boy only knew what his random acts of kindness did to you.
But as you were watching him, mesmerized by the view and lost in your thoughts, arguing with yourself whether you should wake him up so Draco could actually get to bed or just let him sleep where he was right now, the boy stirred in his sleep, before slowly opening his eyes, and straightening up in his chair with a yawn.
“Morning, sleepyhead.”, you smiled, and Draco´s head spun around, the confused look on his face giving place to a grin.
“Says you, love. An entire herd of trolls could have clumped through the room and you would have still slept like a baby.”
“Can you blame me?”, you yawned.
Draco shook his head, still smiling.
“Not at all. But that´s why you should really go to bed now. We need to get at least some hours of sleep.”
With a heavy sigh, you let yourself fall back onto the couch and looked at Draco with puppy eyes.
“But I´m so comfy right now.”
The Slytherin arched an eyebrow.
“More comfortable than your bed?”
“Warmer. And also,”, you cuddled yourself deeper into the blanket, “You are here.”
Oh, if you only knew what your words did to the poor boy´s heart. But instead of telling you, Draco only grinned cockily at you.
“But maybe I want to go to bed.”
“Or you could just join me here.”, you teased him even though you made your voice sound as innocent as possible before you added in a more serious voice: “Unless you actually want to leave. I get it. It was a long day and if you want to go to bed…”
But you hadn’t even finished the sentence before Draco stood up and walked up to you with long strides. Lucky for him, you didn’t even notice how wobbly his legs felt when he walked up to you, praying he wouldn’t stumble over his own feed, and how relieved he was when he finally sat down next to you. You huddled closer to Draco, who wrapped an arm around you and sighed.
“You know I just can´t turn you down, no matter what you ask from me, don´t you?”
You felt your cheeks heating.
“You´re just too good for me, Draco.”, you smiled.
And you meant it. You knew over all Draco surely wasn’t what people would describe as the good guy, but to you, he was just perfect. And the way he treated you was so much more than you could ever ask for. If you only knew what you did to deserve it.
“There´s nothing as too good when it comes to you, love.”, the Slytherin smiled, before placing a small kiss on the crown of your head, making chills run down your spine.
“No, I mean it. You are. You are perfect in every way. And I have absolutely no idea why you are doing all of this for me.”
A low chuckle rumbled in Draco´s chest.
“You really are that clueless, aren’t you?”
You sat up a bit straighter to look at Draco properly. There was amusement shimmering in his eyes, that were otherwise filled with so much adoration that it made you forget everything else around you. You narrowed your eyes, as you scanned his delicate features.
“Care to enlighten me then?”
If it wasn’t for your own blood swooshing in your ears, you would have probably heard Draco´s heart beating so strong he was afraid it might just jump out of his chest any second.
“Think about it, love.” He stressed the nickname in a way he had never done before. It had always rolled from his tongue so easily, but this time its weight was lying heavily on you. “For what reason do you think I am doing all of this?” Your breath got stuck in your throat as Draco raised his hand, his thumb brushing over your cheek, before he tucked some strands of hair behind your ear, his hand coming to a halt there, fingers tangled in your hair. “For what reason do you think I always want to be near you?” His gaze flickered over your face, scanning all your different features closely, as if he wanted to memorize them forever. “For what reason do you think I get so distracted in a goddamn class by how absolutely beautiful you are that I´m not even able to do my work and even when I have to face the consequences I still rather spend my time looking at you and listening to your voice than dealing with it, even if this will only get me into more trouble?” Was that what had happened? Had Draco actually been so distracted by your sheer existence that he just couldn’t bring himself to care about the class anymore? “And why do you think I got so upset when fucking Pucey had nothing better to do than flirt with you when all I wanted was to spend some time with you?” Draco let out a shaky laugh. “Do you have any idea how hard it was not to hex him then and there? Because trust me, it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. Maybe the only thing harder than this…” His eyes finally came to a halt, meeting yours, so you could see all the raw emotions lying within them before his gaze dropped to your lips, where it stilled. “The only thing harder than this is to be around you every day, acting as if we are nothing but friends when all I want to do is to hold you and kiss you and to tell you how much I love you and continue to do so for the rest of my life.” Draco let out a breath he hadn’t even been aware he was holding, resting his forehead against yours. “Because it´s the hardest thing in the world, loving someone so much, who is just so oblivious to absolutely everything you say or do.”
Until that very day, you had no idea that a heart could stop beating and hammering in your chest so fast at the same time, but this was exactly what was happening to you right now. All the emotions flushing through you were way too much but at the same time you knew it would never be enough. Not when it came to Draco. Your voice was only a whisper, but you were just relieved that you still had one at all, when you whispered: “Maybe you should just stop pretending then. Because maybe this is all that she is hoping for.”
Draco hummed in response.
“But maybe this is just so much more than I could ever hope for. So much more than I deserve.”
“You deserve to be happy, Draco. And when it comes to me – I´m willing to do whatever I need to just so you can be.”
“Stay with me, then.”, he whispered against your lips, his voice sounding husky. “That´s all I need.”
You nodded.
“I will.”
And when your lips finally met Draco´s all the doubts either of you had ever had just vanished into the air. Because you both were certain that this was right where you belonged. Nothing that felt as good as this kiss could ever be anything but just how things were supposed to be. Within seconds, the world fell into place for you, Draco asked himself how he could have ever doubted that you didn’t love him the same way he had loved you ever since he could remember and you wondered about how you could have ever mistaken Draco´s behaviour for anything but what it actually was. Love. A love that had built up over all those years the two of you had been friends, something you had always known had been there but had never acted on, something that had grown just so much stronger with every single thing the two of you had been through and a love that would continue to grow with everything that you would witness together from this very second on.
When finally, Draco pulled away from you and looked into your starstruck eyes, he couldn’t help the sly grin that made it to his face.
“And you really had no idea?”
You shook your head, the blush on your cheeks only deepened.
“Merlin, (Y/n), how oblivious can one be?”
“Maybe you should just stop beating around the bush from time to time and just tell me what´s going on, Malfoy.”, you returned.
Draco chuckled and placed a small kiss on your temple.
“Fair enough.”, he agreed.
You raised an eyebrow in response.
“Really? That´s it? No arguing? No distraction? No teasing? Merlin Draco, do I need to be worried?”
“Don’t get fooled by it. This is only for tonight. I have a lifetime to do all of those things now. Because I can promise you that now I have witnessed this once, I will never let you go again.”
You rolled your eyes and let out a dramatic sigh.
“What have I only gotten myself into?”, you groaned, but at the same time, you got more comfortable in Draco´s arms again, feeling the tiredness slowly sneaking back into your body that had been forgotten over everything that Draco had told you before.
“Don´t tell me you would want it any other way.”, Draco grinned, as he pulled you even closer.
And oh, he was so right with that.
“Don´t you dare, Blaise!”
“What? You want them to be late for class?”
“Just give them five more minutes.”
“What difference does that make?”
“It gives me time to fetch (Y/n)´s silly muggle camera and capture this moment for eternity. “
“You wouldn’t let them forget anyway.”
“Obviously I wouldn´t. I have to tease them about this for the rest of their lives.”
“Admit it, Pansy, you only want to do so because they look just adorable.”
“Well, maybe. A little bit. But that doesn’t mean I can´t use it against them.”
And Pansy and Blaise were right. Draco and you, cuddled up under a blanket on one of the couches in the common room, Draco´s arms wrapped around you, and your head resting on his chest, the morning sun shining through the window was a lovely sight indeed. And even though Draco would claim to hate his friends for showing around the pictures later everywhere, telling everyone an absolutely heartwarming and totally made-up story about how the two of you had ended up there, secretly he was thankful that they did. Because like that they showed everyone that you were finally his, just like he had always been yours. And maybe – just maybe – he would keep a copy of the picture in his nightstand and in the nights he didn’t sneak down to the common room to cuddle with you until the sun would rise again, he would pull it out, staring at the picture of you in his arms, both of you with a faint smile on your lips, until he would fall asleep. But honestly, he couldn’t wait for a time when he wouldn’t need a photo anymore to look at you, because you would fall asleep next to him every single night and he could just look at you instead. Because who needed a picture when the reality was just so much better than all the dreams he used to have about it, back when he hadn’t even had the faintest idea that not even the best ones would come close to the feeling of actually having you in his arms?

"She doesn't look that great" pansy rolled her eyes when Hermione was led off by Krum to dance and everyone stopped gawking at her.
"She certainly found out how to sort that bush she calls hair" Theo laughed
I looked up at Harry and Hermione who were sat on the table for judges with their dates.
Ron and Padma were by themselves at a table, Ron continued to stare at Hermione, looking utterly annoyed and Padma just looked sad. What a git, He's going to spoil everything for her because of his stupid jealously. I knew he liked Hermione, I just wished they could both see it.
"Wait, my brothers here" I said after spotting My third oldest brother, Percy sat at the judges table.
"Yes, we're all aware, they make half the schools population" Pansy said, leaning over Draco to see me
"No, the one at the ministry, works with Mr Crouch, wonder what he's doing here" I thought out loud.
"Well, if he works for Crouch maybe he's filling in for him, because Crouch isn't here" Daphne said
"maybe" I shrugged
"Where's this bloody food" Theo huffed
"You have to order it on the menu's idiot" Draco rolled his eyes before demonstrating by picking his own menu up and telling the plate what dish he wanted, we then followed after.
"Oh, I knew that" Theo muttered
"slow down, Weasley, before your dress starts ripping at the seams" Pansy scoffed as I began eating
"uf foff arksen" I said through a mouthful of food.
"So, Keira, you transferred here from Beauxbatons last year, right?" Daphne asked me as I took another bite of my food after swallowing.
Nodding as I swallowed "yeah, thats right, I was living in France for four years"
"Did they throw you out?" Pansy asked, staring at me, as if trying to spot anything suspicious
"W-what?!" I choked on my food, Blaise patting my back. I darted up to look at her then the guys, seeing if Draco told her anything, but he kept a blank face "N-no, not at all, just that I was missing my family and wanted to come back home to the UK" I lied easily.
"What's it like at Beauxbatons, I bet the guys are just a dream" Daphne said, Theo side eyeing her
"Its as if we're not just sat here" He said to the other two guys
"Uh, yeah, they're all really...beautiful, but so are the girls and perfect, so it's kinda scary, I did have one friend, well, he was my first boyfriend, if it even counts" I laughed
"Did you learn any french?" Pansy asked
"No I just sat in confusion every time someone talked to me for four years straight." I said sarcastically.
"Yeah, you idiot" Theo said to Pansy
"Shut up, Nott!" She sneered at him
Dumbledore had then instructed us to stand and step away from the tables, then with a wave of his wand, the tables were pushed away and the floor was cleared.
"Is this the part where we have to dance?" I whined
"Yes! My favourite part" Daphne clapped her hands
"I only just managed to walk in these things, Let alone dance!"
"Good luck Zabini, try not to step on his feet two much, Weasley" Pansy said, smirking.
The four champions and their partners led the dance before we were to join in, I could see neville and Ginny dancing, and the faint apologies as Neville tread on her toes.
Fred and Angelina seemed like they were having a good time as they waltzed around cracking jokes with each other and flirting.
Lee and George Were also dancing together, George leading, and Lee continuing to look over at Fred and Angelina, winking at her, saying that she could be next.
Daphne pulled Theo along onto the dance floor excitedly. Draco and Pansy soon followed
"Come on" Blaise told me before grabbing my hand and leading me into the crowd "Don't worry, you'll be fine" He reassured me when he saw my face.
"Please don't let me embarrass myself" I pleaded as he started to lead us around
"Wouldn't dream of it." Blaise said.
Blaise was a really good dancer so it was easy to just let him lead and I try and keep up with his steps.
As the song ended another started and I was passed on to switch Partners, coincidentally it was Draco
"Weasley" He said before wrapping his arm around my waist and repeating the steps of waltzing.
"Malfoy, I heard you've been keeping me from your mothers party's" I said, raising a brow, and craning my neck to look into his silver eye's
"Well, I think you should thank me, Look at your horrible dancing, and manners" He told me
"Still" I rolled my eyes, as he spun me I caught someone I had tried to avoid since the end of October, Adrian Pucey, and funnily enough He had taken one of the Beauxbatons girls, who he couldn't keep his eyes off when he broke up with me, she was laughing as he hid his face in her neck, smirking.
"Ignore him" Draco told me, I flicked my eyes to look back into his ones, They really were beautiful.
"I don't know what you're on about" I told him, shrugging.
"He didn't deserve you" He told me "He's a tosser"
"Oh, Draco you say that as if your not" I said teasingly, smirking at him
"Oh, you wound me" He rolled his eye's "Thank you" He said more earnestly
"What?"
"For my ring, I never actually said it earlier" He said. Thats when I noticed that he was actually wearing it, the hand that was holding mine.
"Oh, you're welcome" I said, replacing my smirk with a genuine smile
"Draco! I believe it's my turn now" Theo had butted in before slipping me away from Draco and into his arms
"Come on, Theodore, I am not a doll, you know, I've just danced through two songs" I narrowed my eyebrows
"Well then lets go get a butterbeer" He said before taking my hand and leading me to the table
"And what about Daphne?" I asked, picking up a bottle
"Ah, she'll be alright, dancing with someone else, she's only my date, Keira, None of us are actually dating" He said "Are you and Blaise dating? Lucky bastard" He muttered the last bit, I only just caught on to what he said
"No, He's more like my best friend, then anything"
"Ouch, K, and Here I was thinking it was me and you" He jokingly glared at me.
"Oh, no" I sighed as I looked over the tables
"What's wrong?" Theo asked me
"Ron and Hermione, they're arguing about something- oh and she's walked off"
"Weasels probably gone off about how she went to the ball with someone else" Theo said
"Well, its not like he asked her, if anything he's jealous Krum didn't ask him" I said
"Looks like the other twins are badgering Bagman" Theo pointed over to Fred and George who were talking to Bagman, and him desperately looking for an escape, then Percy walked past to talk to Ron and Harry Bagman spotting him then soon following
Fred and George then looked in our direction before whispering and slipping back into the crowd
"Lets go back to the others" I told Theo, grabbing a couple more bottles for the rest and Theo grabbing some more, most likely for himself.
"Where'd you two go off to?" Blaise asked when we sat down and I handed out the bottles, Pansy and Daphne were gone, probably still dancing
"Weasley watching" Theo said
"We were getting drinks" I rolled my eyes "I cannot wait to get out of this stupid, Beautiful, but stupid dress- what- stop staring at me- I didn't mean it like that, grow up, all three of you" I glared at them
"Hey, you're the one who said it" Theo shrugged
"Keira!" I turned to see Percy walking up to our table
"For Salazar's sake" I sighed "Percy! Nice to see you, how's Mum and Dad?"
"Oh, they're fine, Have you been working hard on your school work, your O.W.L.s are next year, you know I as well as  Bill and Charlie passed top of our classes, shame Fred and George broke the streak, Hopefully You and Ron won't let us down"
"Well, wouldn't that be a shame, best get going and study, right guys? See ya Percy" I waved him off before hastily standing up and nodding my head out for the guys to follow.
"What's his problem?" Draco asked when we walked off
"He doesn't have one, that's just Percy" I rolled my eyes
"Are you actually going to go study?" Blaise asked me
"No, just needed an excuse to get away from him, oh! Sorry for making you guys leave too"
"It's fine, was bored anyway" Theo shrugged before slinging an arm around my shoulders.
"No Idea what he'll do when I'm not a prefect" I laughed "Ron might have a chance"
"what make's you think you won't be one?" Blaise said curiously
"Well, for starters, This is only my second year here, and B, Snape hates me and I don't exactly have a soft spot for him either, Draco and Pansy will probably get it, thats you both being up his arse"
"Hey! I resent that, He's actually my Godfather, you know" Draco glared at me
"Cute. I am knackered, I'm going to bed, see you lot later" I yawned before walking off to the girls dorms.
"Nineteen ninety-five, that sounds good, don't you think" Theo said at Breakfast on the first day of the new term
"Is this a yearly thing, Nott?" I asked him before biting into a slice of toast.
"It's just the concept of time, really, and how we watch the days go by, closer to death with joy at the fact we get older" He said
"This is the sort of rubbish we have to put up with in the middle of the night in the dorms" Draco rolled his eye's
"You should be lucky at least one of us has wit, intelligence and looks" Theo winked at him.
"How did you come to be so modest?"I asked sarcastically
"Well, I guess it just comes naturally to me" Theo said, Draco, Blaise and I rolling our eyes in sync.
"What do we have first then?" Draco asked as we pulled our bags over our shoulders to leave.
"Transfiguration with Ravenclaw" Blaise replied
"Ugh, McGonagall really doesn't like me for some reason" I moaned
"Maybe because she lost a Weasley to Slytherin, ruining her collection of red heads" Theo suggested.
"Oh, shut up" I rolled my eyes.
"My word!" A painting of two women gasped when we walked past it.
I stopped to see them staring at the four of us.
"Gosh, they look just like those kids, had to be about, twenty odd years ago, the red head girl, looks just like her, Lily Evans" The other woman sighed. Lily Evans. That was Harry's mum.
"Of course there are only two left of that group still alive, last time I heard, and one of them is on the run"
"Excuse me" I said to the painting "But do you mind telling me what you are on about"
"Of course, they were Gryffindors and these are, well, Slytherins" The first one said, as if she had just bit into a sour lemon.
"Keira, just ignore them, they're just two old bats with nothing else better to do" Theo said, steering me away from them.
"He surely has the mouth of that Mr Black"
"What's their problem?" Blaise asked
"I have no idea, apparently we reminded them of some students from ages ago" I rolled my eyes before carrying down the hallway.
Ever since the conversation I had with the girls in the dorm, about the guys I started to notice how they acted around others a lot more.
For instance, Draco just pushed a second year down the stairs.
Blaise would refuse to touch anyone in case he caught something.
Theo would surely tell a person how he felt about them if they ever crossed him, even by accident.
I really hadn't opened my eyes to how cruel these boys really were and how they truly did see themselves as being superior to the rest of the school.
That really scared me, why were they different to me and why hadn't I noticed.
"You didn't have to push him down the stairs, Draco, He could of hurt himself badly!" I told him
"He was staring" He said, with no emotion
"No wonder everyone thinks you're such a prick" I huffed, walking into transfiguration.
"Is there a reason why the four of you are late to class?" Professor McGonagall asked as we took our seats
"Sorry, Purrfess- Professor!" I slapped a hand over my mouth, catching myself, I don't even know where that came from
"It had slipped my mind that you were related to Mr Weasley" She muttered to herself "Take your seats"
Draco and I sat at the bench second to the back, Blaise and Theo taking the one behind us.
"Purrfessor" Theo laughed from behind me
"Shut up, Theo!" I snapped at him twisting in my seat to glare
"Miss Weasley! must I remind you how to behave inside of a classroom after the holiday's?"
"Sorry, professor" I faced her quickly
"Twenty-five points from Slytherin for being late and Miss Weasleys excessive talking" She said before carrying on with the lesson.
The rest of the Slytherins glared at me, and my cheeks blushed like mad as I dropped my head on the table.
"Snow is so beautiful, but so horrendous" I whined as we waited outside Hagrids cabin for for Care of Magical Creatures class. "I still can't believe what happened to Hagrid"
"His own fault, really, about time he left" Draco said
"Don't be so rude, Malfoy, he is a genuine and lovely person, only because you don't like him" I rolled my eyes.
"Here come's the Gryffindors" Theo sighed.
"Hurry up, now, the bell rang five minutes ago," The new Professor barked at them.
"Who're you?" Ron asked, staring at her. "Where's Hagrid?"
"My name is Professor Grubbly-Plank, I am your temporary Care of Magical Creatures teacher."
"Where's Hagrid?" Harry repeated, louder than Ron.
"He is indisposed"
The Slytherins laughed around me, I didn't join in.
The trio turned to face us, I met Harry's eyes and shrugged at the confusion I could see on his face.
"This way, Please" Professor Grubbly-Plank had told us.
She had led us Past the Paddock where the Beauxbatons horse stood shivering.
"What's wrong with Hagrid?" Harry had asked, speed walking past us to catch up with Grubbly-Plank.
"Never you mind" She told him.
"I do mind, though" Harry had pressed "What's up with him?" But she just ignored him.
"Oh, a unicorn" Theo had said when we spotted the beautiful creature tethered to one of the tree's by the forrest.
At the realisation of the Unicorn, most of the girls "Oooooohed" and squealed.
"Hey, Draco, it nearly matches your hair, are you part Unicorn?" I asked him, twisting one of the front bits of his hair, but he slapped my hand away
"No! I'm a Pureblood wizard, it would be impossible to be part Unicorn" He said proudly
"Unless one of your great grandparents shagged a unicorn, then didn't tell anyone" Theo suggested
"But how would that make me part Unicorn?" Draco stared at Theo
"I don't know Malfoy, do I look like a Unicorn Shagger?"
"Mr Nott!" Grubbly-Plank shouted at Theo to shut up after overhearing our conversation.
"Sorry Grubby Plums!" Theo said, ending in him losing Slytherin five more points.
"Boys keep back!" Grubbly-Plank barked catching Harry in the chest when she threw out her arms "They prefer the woman's touch, unicorns, Girls to the front, and approach with care. Come on, easy does it..."
"something we have in common" Theo joked
Her and the other girls walked slowly towards it, Theo and Draco opted to shove me towards it,
"Hey, thats my sister!" Ron shouted at them, and they laughing in response
"Gits" I rolled my eyes as I walked up closer to it with the others.
"It was so soft, and Grubbly-Plank taught us a bunch of stuff, shame you guys didn't get to go up it" I said when we were at dinner
"Lucky you" Theo said, sounding bored
"what were you saying to Harry?" I asked Draco "When we walked away"
"Showed him the article" Draco said.
"You just love to wind up, its not true by the way, I don't hate Hagrid" I said
"Well then maybe you should talk to Skeeter and tell her that" He said
"I'd rather set my hair on fire" I crossed my arms
"How would you be able to notice?" Theo asked me
"What?"
"Well, how would you notice if your hair was on fire?"
"Oh shut up, Theo, you're not even funny" I rolled my eyes
"I wasn't trying to be, it was a genuine question" He muttered to himself.
"I wonder who Dumbledore is going to bring in once Moody leaves" Theo had said.
We were sat in The Three Broomsticks sipping butterbeer.
"Whoever it is, I bet they can't be worse then the last four" Draco rolled his eyes
"What do you mean, I thought Lupin was great" I said "Can't comment on the first two"
"He was a werewolf, and the bouncing ferret doesn't like Moody either, does he" Blaise teased
"Shut up, Zabini" Draco shot Blaise a murderous glare.
"Miss Weasley!" The poisonous voice of Rita Skeeter said, walking up to our table
"Hello?" I said to her
"I was wondering if I could have a word with you, I know you are close With the Famous Harry Potter and was wondering if you could give some insight, it would also be exciting to hear about your transfer from Beauxbaton and how that came to happen" She grinned, tapping her long pink nails on the table
"Sorry, Haven't talked to Harry in a while, and I'm sure no one would want to know about my boring life" I said before finishing off my butterbeer
"Interesting, so did you and Mr Potter fall out, was he mad that you had gone to the Yule ball with someone else, Jealous of your - friendship - among these three boys?"
"How could he, if we have never dated, and never will, Go get your story somewhere else and stop poking your long pointy nose in my business" I told her before standing up and storming out the pub, the three soon followed me.
Our height difference being a big advantage for them to catch up to me quickly
"What was all that?" Theo asked, slinging an arm around my shoulders
"I don't like people asking me personal questions, especially if I don't like them" I replied still storming across the snow with my arms crossed over my chest.
"You're not the only one, Granger and Potter were shouting at her when you walked out" Draco said.
I heard the faint banging of the Pub door behind us and Ron talking to Hermione, I could hear the worry in his voice.
"I can definitely cross reporter of my list of potential jobs"
"What you don't know what you're doing in life?" Theo asked me
"No, I still have three more years to plan"
"And what do your parents think about that?" Blaise asked
"They don't? they'll just let me get on with it because they know I'll figure it out one day, Just as they've let Bill, Charlie and Percy go on their own paths, although Mums not so keen on Fred and George's ambitions" I chuckled "Sorry..." I stopped myself rambling when the three were just staring at me
"Imagine that boys, not even deciding what you're going to do" Draco chuckled but there was no humour
"What do you mean?" I asked him
"Well, you see Weasley, when you come from a family such as ours, Your whole life is already planned by the time you are born, we" He indicated at him, Theo and Blaise "are Heirs, to carry on the Family Names and the bloodline, as well, fortunately the riches included. Our fathers already have our adult lives planned out, wouldn't be surprised if my father didn't already have a file of potential marriages in his cabinet." He told me.
"Oh..." the thought of Theo and Draco eventually getting married crossed my mind, then I got this twisted feeling in my stomach. "Sorry?"
"Don't pity us, it's just the way things are, In proper Pureblood Families" He said, and the feeling went away instantly
"Stop being such an Arse Malfoy" I rolled my eyes.

✯¸.•´¨*•✿ Pancake ✿•*¨`•.¸✯
You stride down the delicious-scented great hall hand in hand with your boyfriend in his Quidditch uniform making your way towards the Slytherin table, having a small conversation before the both of you settle next to your other fellow Slytherin students enjoying their breakfast giving them a quick hello. "Hey Pans" you greet putting your arms around her neck in a loving matter hugging her from behind as she takes a bite of her cut-up strawberries, "Morning Gorgeous" she added rubbing the arms you have around her before she pats an empty spot on the bench next to her, inviting you to sit. You did just that making sure your boyfriend Blaise sit next to you too as Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle sat across from the three of you, you gave all three boys a smile and a nod as they all did vice versa.
the 6 of you have always been close ever since 1st year as you were all sorted into the Slytherin house and share a common trait of dislike and hate towards Potter and his other Gryffindork friends, but despite such traits and picking on others the 6 of you are inseparable best of friends, often walking together as a group intimidating others around you which was all in good fun. You scan the table full of breakfast items such as pancakes, toast, waffles, sausages, bacon, eggs, and more wafting its scent through your nose, your mouth starts to salivate as you help yourself to a serving of bacon and eggs your all-time favorite meal, you swear to yourself that if you were in your death bed a plate of bacon and eggs can resuscitate you back to a healthy and normal state again. You take a bite of bacon and a smile instantly appeared on your face but once you look over to your left you saw your boyfriend focusing intently on the daily prophet paper with a cup of black coffee in hand.
As the others were distracted by a conversation you place a calming hand on Blaise's back studying his face curiously, he looked frazzled and a bit nervous, his breathing was a bit off and he tries to let it all go by reading. "Babe, how come you aren't eating anything?" you asked gently leaning your head on his arm, he let out a sigh before looking over at you with a weak smile, "It's nothing love I'm just a bit nervous for today's game" he responds kissing the top of your head before laying his eyes back into the piece of parchments full of news and wonders. You got worried but decide to scan around the table full of breakfast spotting a steamy plate of pancakes lying around ready to be served into someone's plate, your eyes light up, and use the provided spatula to pick up 3 pieces of pancake into your boyfriend plate drizzling syrup over the top of it and a knob of butter on top.
He noticed the commotion you were making and put aside the papers he'd been reading only to find a plate of his favorite breakfast food right in front of him, "Ta-da it's your favorite now open up your mouth and eat" you encourage the nervous boy. He let out a small chuckle and open his mouth open for you to feed him a piece, "How is it babe good?" you asked acting oblivious about the answer he was about to give as if you didn't know that pancakes were his all-time favorites, he nodded with a slight smirk nodding to himself as he enjoys the warm and comforting taste of those pancakes, "Good you need to eat babe being nervous is completely normal but don't you worry you're going to do great... I've never seen such a fast chaser as you" a smile starts to appear watching him swallows the food.
"You're right love, I should be eating before I play otherwise I might mess up" he replies before he starts feeding himself some more, you giggle at his response kissing him on the cheek as you both enjoy your breakfast together later on walking out of the hallway hand in hand towards the quidditch pitch telling each other "I love you".
