#I do think she wrongs Eiffel in a sense by trying to send him back against his will

The most dramatic action that Minkowski takes towards Eiffel in the finale (sending him back in the Sol) is going against Eiffel's choices in an attempt to prevent him coming to harm. In contrast, the most dramatic action that Hera takes towards Eiffel in the finale (the memory-wipe) is causing him to come to harm in order to enact a choice that he's made.
In a sense, these actions are conceptual opposites. But they are both taken with love and respect for Eiffel. They are both extremely selfless actions which Minkowski and Hera find painful to take.
They are also both actions which could be considered to be harming Eiffel. Both of these actions involve doing something to Eiffel that Minkowski/Hera would hate to have done to them. And both of those actions are taken with the awareness that they are fairly likely to result in losing Eiffel in a sense (either because he's headed back to Earth while Minkowski is on the Hephaestus, or because he's losing part of what makes him him). That's part of what makes those acts painful and complicated and significant.
Minkowski and Hera both care about Eiffel so deeply, and their care often expresses itself in contrasting ways because they are very different people. The finale emphasises these different manifestations of their care. Love can be 'I will do whatever I can to keep you safe, even when that's not what you want'. Love can also be 'I will support the choices that you make to bring about our common goal, even when that causes you harm'. The way Minkowski's care for Eiffel manifests is tied up in her sense of responsibility for her crew's safety. The way Hera's care for Eiffel manifests is linked to how she's had to fight for her own autonomy.
Neither of their actions in the finale are perfect or typical expressions of love, but in their very different ways, they both act with love, and that's important to me.

Too Late: Adrien (Commission for miner249er)
Chapter 5 of the commission for @miner249er !
Previous Work
Last Chapter                            Next Chapter
The Seine became a comfort spot for Adrien after everything happened, his original comfort spot had been the top of the Eiffel Tower but with his ring gone, that wasn’t an option. Actually many places weren’t on his list of options any more due to his ring being gone and due to his identity as both Adrien Agreste: Teen Model and Heart Throb, as well as Adrien Agreste: Possible Accomplice to Hawkmoth and Mayura, and the possible face behind the cat mask, Chat Noir, became “known” after the whole Protector incident. Paris’s last akuma, and Adrien’s last normal day, last peaceful moment. He had been naïve before and hadn't even known it. He had tried too hard to get past the rose-tinted glasses his father basically prescribed he wore everyday and when he thought he had gotten rid of those he was too blind to notice the rose-tinted contact lenses he himself put in willingly every day after.
But those contacts had been dried and ripped and tossed in the trash. Now he couldn’t even take a simple walk without wearing a wig, clothes he never considered wearing before and some he knew his father wouldn’t approve of so there were some silver linings, and he would slightly contour his face and thank his old makeup artists for teaching him some makeup skills he could do himself. Plus it helped that he had been doing research on cosplaying and what it took to look like other people, tip number one was contouring your face, and that’s just what he did when he wanted to leave the house and have some alone time. True alone time, not supervised alone time with Simon, aka Gorilla, and not alone time at a distance with his mom, which he was so grateful to have back, but with the rumors surrounding his father and Nathalie and the way she came back on live TV, their alone time happened together.
It was wonderful to have his mother back, but it did not dull his pain. Not even her hugs or her kisses or her sweet words could pull him from the edge of his guilt-ridden thoughts. Every day, every damn day, he would think how this all was his fault. Maybe if he had been a better son, a better model, a better something, maybe his father wouldn’t have abused the Butterfly Miraculous the way he did. Maybe Gabriel, because even Adrien had to admit that the man was severely lacking in that department and had in a very long time, would have trusted him and told him what was going on. Then, perhaps, Adrien could have convinced his Father not to get Nathalie involved and to maybe let Ladybug help or even the Guardian. If Gabriel had just let his son in like Adrien had craved for so long, then maybe all this pain and anger wouldn’t be bleeding out of each and every pore of everyone in Paris.
Maybe then the Protector wouldn’t have had to...well, protect like she felt she had to. Adrien had never thought Marinette to be a scary girl, in fact, ‘Marinette’ and ‘scary’ in the same sentence seemed like something out of a parallel universe if anything. In his memories, because that’s all he had left of the girl, those and a broken arm and finger, Marinette Dupain-Cheng had always been happy and sweet and determined and so much more. Or, that was what he thought, that’s all he observed. He never took her sorrow or hurt seriously and it was that thought that had been plaguing him night and day ever since she went missing.
Her disappearance wasn’t the only ‘big’ thing that had happened in the honestly short amount of time he and his class encountered The Protector, he refused to call that akuma Marinette, there was just no way she thought of him and their classmates like that. There was no way. The only conclusion he could come to was that Gabriel had more control over the akuma than usual. Maybe even twisted her feelings into something darker. It has happened before...he’s sure of it. From what he knows about the Butterfly Miraculous, which was really not a lot even with his small crash course with Master Fu after he tried to make sense of everything, the Butterfly can enhance emotions. Who’s to say that he couldn’t twist those emotions? I mean...even Master Fu said he was tainting the Miraculous in ways that even he couldn’t predict. Maybe all that misuse could have changed it.
This could have been avoided . Was another constant thought that hung before him seemingly as a reminder. This should have been avoided.
Anger, no fury, overtook him but he managed to not let it out in a scream, or worse physically on something. He no longer had his usual outlet when his emotions got too big or too much, so he did the only thing he could remember his father teaching him. Mask it. Hide it all beneath a mask of indifference. Before he had hated it, hated the way Gabriel had sounded almost proud of the lesson he was giving his son, like it was one of his single most important pieces of fatherly advice he could bestow upon Adrien. Now though? Now it actually came in handy and Adrien loathed it, everything about it, but if he made a scene out in the open, it wouldn’t matter if he had a disguise on or not. People would stare, people would talk, people would try to help and he just could not handle any of that.
“We could all use you right now M’Lady…” He muttered to the air and himself, a part of him hoping that in some way the message would reach the girl he was thinking of.
That was another thing that was bringing him migraines if he thought too much about it, which he did, constantly. He didn’t just have to come to terms with the fact that one of his best friends had gotten akumatized and promptly went missing after said akumatization, or the fact Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie Sancoeur were basically determined to be the villains Hawkmoth and Mayura by public opinion and “coincidences” that looked an awful lot like proof, there was also the fact his mother literally rose from the grave...or from her coma that Adrien had no idea about, but to top everything off was the very real fact that Protector, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Multimouse, was actually Paris’s beloved heroine Ladybug. His mind was still trying to make it make sense. To make it all make sense. But it was that last bit that was still throwing him for a loop.
He just couldn’t seem to fuse the identities together. Both girls held importance in his life, just in different ways. There were so many memories that were thrown at him that were practically begging him to see, see how the two were actually one and the same. There was just this other part of him that refused to see it, refused to acknowledge it, because, and it was a bit embarrassing to admit even to just himself, he was mad that he had declared that he would know Ladybug anywhere. Adrien had even convinced himself that he would absolutely be able to know who she was beneath the mask if he had just seen her. Turns out he had seen her out of the mask more often than in and it hurt.
To make matters worse, if anything could even be worse , he bitterly thought as he kicked a stray stone, he was pretty sure his class knew or at least suspected he was Chat Noir after their shared Protector experience. Yet none of them said anything, there were no new rumors floating about, there were no news coverage about him in particular other than how Paris was sending his mother and him their prayers, others were not as nice and speculated they were both involved in his villainy. The biggest thing though was that no one was reaching out to him to talk about what happened, to talk about his injury and the fact that the akuma took his ring so openly in front of people, they reached out...just not for any of that. They gave their sympathy, their curiosity, their anger, but none of them asked him about being Chat Noir and it was killing him having to wait for the other shoe to drop.
If it even drops.
Adrien sighed harshly and burrowed deeper into the hoodie he had slipped on before he had snuck out of his house. While aimlessly walking he spotted a bench and promptly slumped onto it. One hand idly picked at the chipped paint of the bench while the other clutched his hoodie above his heart. It hurt. It hurt enough to make him cry and well, he was alone so why not just cry? The guilt, the shame, the anger, the loneliness, all of it had turned into some blob of a creature that took hold of his heart and squeezed. He had to close his eyes, he didn’t know why, but it felt like it was one of the only ways to get comfort. Again, he was proved wrong as he began to remember The Day of The Last Akuma as all of Paris had taken to calling it, Adrien referred to it as the day he failed Marinette.
                  ________________________________________
Adrien winced as Marinette had taken hold of both his hands in hers, the gesture would have been sweet if it weren’t for the pressure. “ Save it. I don’t want your superficial pity. You Adrien Agreste are the biggest liar I know next to Lila. You knew she was lying. You knew she was lying from the start seeing how Ladybug told you herself that Lila and her were not friends. Oh yeah I know about that, in the park, or how about when Lila was akumatized to be the Chameleon, which by the way Lila very unoriginal and I’m fairly certain you were akumatized on purpose but hey what proof do I have right? And she pretended to be you because she didn’t like what you had to say about her lying. Yet you still didn’t tell your so called friends about her, because you don’t care about anyone but yourself! I learned that the hard way. I believed you when you said we were in this together and that if we both knew then that was enough and that we should take the moral highroad. What a joke ! I am truly disgusted with myself for ever thinking I was in love with you. ”
His hands hurt but that was nothing compared to his heart when Marinette had finished her speech, but the hurt was outweighed by his confusion. Looking around he could tell that their classmates were not expecting Marinette’s words to him. Some were probably still reeling from her harsh words about them but all eyes were on him and Marinette, and they were wide, whether it be in hurt, horror, shock, or all of the above. It seemed like the stares didn’t bother Marinette in the least, but they sure were getting to Adrien. “ W-What? You love me? ”
The hollow laugh he had gotten in reply was like a stab to the heart, he could feel Plagg scratching at his shirt from inside his white overshirt, he knew he had to get out of there so he could transform but Marinette still had a grip on him. “ Men. Of course that’s the only thing you focus on. If you actually listened to me and were a decent human being for once in your pathetic sad model life, you would have noticed that I said, was . I was in love with you, but after everything? You’re nothing but an obstacle in my way. ”
“ Mari please- ,” Adrien tried to reason with her as he tugged at his hands gently to see if there was any slack, again he winced in pain when Marinette tightened her hold, her gaze never wavering from him. The fury in her eyes could practically melt him.
“ That is not my name! If I did go by that name again you would not get to call me that anyways, nicknames are a privilege, they are shared between friends. Last I checked, we’re not friends, maybe we never were to begin with, and that goes for all of you too! ” Marinette hissed out sharply as she finally tore her gaze away from Adrien and looked at their classmates, their friends. It was the first time since this whole situation started that Adrien felt he could breathe despite the fact his hands were in an iron-clad like clutch. He didn’t have the heart to look in the eyes of everyone to see how they took Marinette’s words.
“ Marinette, this isn’t you! You need to fight the akuma, it’s making you say these things I know it is! But if you just calm down and fight it I know Ladybug and Chat Noir will be here to save the day. ” Adrien rambled away, and if he had been paying attention, he would have seen the way Marinette’s spine had straightened, how the atmosphere and temperature felt like it had dropped, and the way her calm fury took a turn. No he missed that all in favor of trying to see if one of his friends would agree with him and help him calm Marinette down long enough for him to sneak out and transform so Chat Noir could heroically swoop in to save the day.
“ Did he say akuma? ” He heard Rose semi-whisper to Juleka who merely nodded in confusion.
“ Marinette doesn’t look like an akuma though …” Nathaniel mumbled meekly.
“ Have you sheep learned nothing? There is more to people than what meets the eye.” Marinette sing-songed, and it was brief, so painfully brief but enough to draw scared gasps from everyone in the class, Marinette’s eyes had flashed from their normal cheerful blue to a darker almost violet color and the whites of her eyes turned purple. Everyone scurried back, even Mlle Bustier, all except Adrien who was still caught in her grip near the doorway that they were now blocking, and Lila who was just staring at Marinette in interest and poorly acted out fear from her seat that used to be Marinette’s. Everyone was calling out to her and telling her to run to them but the girl continued to sit there “frozen” in fear. “ And it seems like you are finally opening yours. ”
“ Oh Marinette how did this happen to you? I thought you were better than this? To get akumatized over me and showing everyone your true nature! Don’t worry guys my best friend Ladybug will be here soon to rescue us. ” Lila gushed out, not catching the wary glances that some were giving her.
“ Oh Delilah, do shut up. ” Marinette harshly mocked in response, Lila looked as though she had been smacked, everyone else was confused, Adrien included. “ What? Oh you guys didn’t know? Liar Rossi’s real name is Delilah, so let’s add that to the growing list of wrongdoings of one Delilah ‘Lila’ Rossi .”
Adrien breathed a sigh of relief when Marinette released his left arm, only to freeze when he felt her grab his right forearm with one hand, and his right hand with the other. Her fingers were so close to his ring, his heart was racing and he could feel Plagg stiffen in panic as well. “ Stop. Marinette. I’m begging you. This isn’t the way to deal with things, this will only make everything worse! ”
Marinette’s attention was torn from Lila to him and Adrien felt like he couldn’t breathe, he was sweating, and he felt like anything he did or said next would give him away as Chat Noir but he had to do something. Master Fu trusted him with this. Ladybug probably trusted him with this too, sure Fu hadn’t told him why she was gone but maybe this was a test or something? Maybe this wasn’t as bad as it seemed. Hopefully this wasn’t as serious as Fu made it out to be, because if it was he was not doing good. At all. “ Worse? No Agreste, I’m making things better. I’m protecting the people of Paris one last time from all of you, but especially from Rossi. Her lies harm people, her very being brings harm upon anyone she meets, and will continue to do so if someone doesn’t stop her. If someone doesn’t protect them from her. Since you couldn’t have a spine and keep one simple promise to be in this together with me, I have become what I needed to be and what Paris temporarily needs me to be just for today. I am its protector, I am The Protector.”
The pressure around his arm increased and he could do nothing but gasp in pain and try to pull away even as he was forced on his knees due to the pain. It was at this point that Lila got up and edged back, seeming to finally understand the danger she was in. The danger she unleashed. Marinette, no, the akuma, the Protector didn’t even spare her a glance as she added more and more pressure. The pain had distracted him from what she was doing at the same time, taking his ring. He hadn’t even noticed when finally a SNAP! rung out in the classroom and a scream could be heard. It took him a while to realize it was his own till he was cradling his limp arm to his chest and crying. He could hear the others shouting and screaming, he couldn’t see their faces through his tears. “ Here’s another lie Delilah told, and it’s fairly recent, but Ladybug and Chat Noir will not be coming to the rescue this time.”
Adrien tried to pull himself together when he no longer felt the weight of his ring, a thought struck him and it only strengthened his resolve to pull himself together despite the pain. There was no doubt that The Protector took his ring, he just hoped his classmates were more focused on his arm breaking than the ring being taken since he was almost certain that the akuma was doing nothing to hide what she took. Which meant if the class wasn’t looking at him they possibly saw Plagg being sucked back into the ring. He heard more than saw the gasps and the panic that followed, but what confused him was the sound of glass breaking-a window most likely-and the presence of the akuma leaving from beside him. He felt people swarm him and ask him questions but all he could focus on was the pain.
                ________________________________________
He wiped the tears that the memory brought and stood back up to resume his walk. Eventually he found himself at the Tom & Sabine Boulangerie and he just had to go inside, he had to apologize to Tom and Sabine, he had to. It was his fault their daughter was missing. So he took in a deep breath and made his way up to their apartment, it took him longer to gather courage to knock but he did eventually do that. When the door was opened, the pit of guilt in stomach grew at the sight of Tom Dupain who looked like he hadn’t gotten a good night’s rest in weeks, nor had he taken the time shave, his beard taking Adrien back to when he had been akumatized into Papa Garou. Beside him, the always put-together Sabine Cheng had bags under her eyes, she was wearing what was obviously one of Tom’s t-shirts and it looked like she hadn’t brushed her hair that morning. He took one look at them and broke down in a fresh wave of tears.
“I’m so sorry!”

So I'm dead then. Interesting.
Sorry this took so long to get out a lot of stuff has been happening and I've been super busy. Anyway i saw this idea a LONG time ago and it just seemed perfect for daminette.
**************************
As Damian opened his eyes he looked around. This room was not familiar. He was not at the manner then, so where was he? The room was far too pink for his tastes, and was that a dress in the corner? No this definitely wasn't the manner.
"Marinette!! Get up you are going to be late for the first day of school!!"
Damian jumped, wiping his head around. Next to him was a girl who was just starting to wake up. She had black hair that fell just around her shoulders. She sat up in bed and stretched. wait a minute, WHY WAS HE IN THE SAME BED AS HER???!!!! This was bad this was very bad!!! He was only 13!!! what happened!!
Damian tried to push himself away from her only to fall through the rail on the side of her bed. The girl, Marinette, didn't seem to notice him she simply climbed down the ladder and, grabbing some clothes, headed to the bathroom. He could hear the shower turn on so he decided to look around.
She had a sewing machine on a desk with a sckech book open next to it. The sckech book held elegant dresses and tuxedos with embroidery so perfectly placed you would have to wonder if it was part of the fabric.
There were pictures on the wall of the girl's friends, one boy seemed to take up most of the space, perhaps her boyfriend? Damian also found a skylight that appeared to open onto a balcony.
When Marinette reappeared she was wearing a nice outfit, still drying her hair off from the shower.
Damian decided now was as good a time as any to ask her what the heck he was doing here, "Excuse me miss," no response, "I was wondering where I am and who you are." Still nothing, "im trying to talk to you!" Damien said reaching out his hand to grab her by the shoulder. His hand passed right through her. He stared at the girl who was still packing her backpack, and then at his hand which was becoming more solid every second he wasn't touching her.
He grabbed his own hand and could feel the scars on it from the league. But when he tried to touch Marinette again his hand passed through her, this time she shivered a bit. Odd he could touch himself but not her, could he touch other things? He reached out to the wall, his hand rested on it until he pushed more and he began to slip through the wall. Very interesting.
As Marinette walked down the stairs to the voice that had called her before Damian followed testing things as her went. Marinette sat down to eat breakfast with who he asumed to be her parents before rushing off to her first day of school.
As Damian followed her throughout the day he discovered several things: he didn't have legs anymore. Where his legs had once been was now replaced with a flowy tail (like the genie in Alddin). He also couldn't be seen or heard by anyone, he had tried to speak but nothing happened. And to top it all off he was in France!! He probably should have figured that out by all the people speaking French but it hit him when marinette had gone to the Eiffel tower after school. Well not exactly marinette, ladybug had gone to the Eiffel tower when fighting a monster called stone heart.
After Stone Heart was defeated marinette went back home and detransformed, Damian hadn't seen her receive the earrings so seeing a giant floating ladybug was strange, but to be fair he was flying right now too.
"Oh marinette that was great! I knew you would make the perfect Ladybug!" Said the.... thing.
"Thank you Tikki!" Oh so that was the things name.
"It was your first day and......" Tikki paused, "oh marinette im so sorry, I didn't know."
"Whats wrong Tikki? What didn't you know?"
"your soulmate...... he's here." As if that explains everything! How was that supposed to help him.
"What do you mean my soulmate is here?" Marinette asked.
"If your soulmate dies before you meet them then they come to watch over you, most humans have soulmates they just don't know about it until its too late...... I can sense yours. I'm so sorry marinette."
so he was dead, that made a lot of sense actually. The last thing he remembered was fighting his clone and then darkness. He should be angry he knew that, but he really didn't care. He liked this girl, he felt safer with her in one day then he did with his father after a whole month. Still he wanted to try to tell his family he was alright..... ok maybe he wasn't alright but he was happy.
Marinette's voice brought him out of his thoughts. "What happened to him?"
Tikki closed her eyes trying to concentrate, "im not sure, he died bravely, in battle. Other then that i don't know."
Well she was correct, he did die in battle with his clone. He wondered what had happened in that battle after his death. Had his family succeeded in defeating his mother, or were they all dead too now? He had no answer but what he did know was that he should try to find them.
That night he began flying away in the direction he believed America was, he reached the sea faster then he had expected. One advantage about being dead was that he didn't get tired, he just kept flying.
Then suddenly he was back in marinette's room as she stretched on her bed. Sunlight was streaming through the skylight. Every time he tried to leave he reappeared at the exact time Marinette woke up every day. The day repeated much the same as the day before, one of the girl's in marinette's class called her names and didn't get in trouble, a monster was beaten by Ladybug and her partner Chat Noir, and he floated around.
Eventually he discovered he could leave massages for marinette on her phone, in the steam on her mirror, or if she left a notebook out overnight. He left small things like, "don't forget about you math test!" Or "Alya said you could go to her house for cookies after school" or "talk to chat noir before he becomes a problem." You know important stuff.
Damian discovered he had grown quite fond of his 'Soulmate' as Tikki had called her. She would talk to him sometimes, about school, ladybug stuff, everything. He would answer back when he could with a note or send a sign, she always seemed to understand.
One day after hearing Marinette talk about how hard it would be to find HawkMoth Damian decided to do something about it. That night he Searched evry house on the east side of Paris. When marinette woke up he was at her side.
He wasn't sure how long he looked, every day was spent with marinette and every night trying to find her enemy. He really wasn't sure how long he had been dead, it felt like he had always been like this, but at the same time like everything was brand new.
After what must have been weeks of searching he found Hawkmoth. The man was nun other then Gabriel Agreste. As damian raced back to marinette's house he got the familier feeling of being pulled away from his spot to Marinette.
Except he wasn't at Marinette's house, he wasn't even in Paris, he was in the batcave looking up at his father.
"Damien! It worked!" Cried Batman still holding his disoriented son.
Damien had no idea what was going on, one minute he was going to tell marinette who her worst enemy was and now he was half way across the world and appeared to be alive, again.
"Father? What am I doing here? Where is marinette?"
Bruce frowned at his son, "Who's marinette?"
Just as Damian was going to answer a loud crash came from behind them. He just got back and already had to fight someone. Great. The fight didn't take long once Damian discovered he had super powers given to him by the same crystal that brought him back to life.
After his family explained how they had brought him back using magic and that his grandfather was also alive again, he had his own explanation to give.
"Everything is all fuzzy."
"Thats alright Damian, you have been dead for months." Tim said.
"But i wasn't really dead," everyone glanced around confused as Damian continued, "I woke up in Paris, and she was waking up and I didn't know what to do, she is a Hero. She knew I was there. She knew I was dead. She is my soulmate."
"Damien are you okay?" Bruce said, this wasn't like Damien at all, he should be mad he let himself die not concerned for someone who didn't exist.
"I have to get to Paris! I HAVE TO TELL HER ABOUT HAWKMOTH! She has... to....know........" the end of his sentence drifted off as Dick pulled the needle out of Damian's arm.
"When he gets up, we will have to tell him that he was hallucinating, we don't need him running off to France to find someone who doesn't exist."
Soon the memorys of Marinette and his time being dead grew distant. He was unaware of the confusion he had caused in Paris.
Tikki could always feel marinette's soulmate as he traveled around Paris. Until he vanished. She immediately got Marinette out to the bathroom to talk.
"Marinette he's gone."
"Who is gone, Tikki?" Marinette asked.
Tikki frowned trying to feel him, "your soulmate he isn't here. I can't sense him anymore."
"There must be a reasonable explanation, maybe he just went out of Paris?"
"No, he isn't anywhere it's almost like he isn't dead anymore."
"But that's not possible, right?" Marinette asked almost hopefully.
"I've seen it before, but don't get your hopes up."
*********************
This isn't the best but I did my best. The ending definitely needs some work. I'm still learning to write so this is the best I could do, I think I'm going to do a list of ideas and have people request whichever one they want. If you like that idea let me know.

Hi! I was wondering if you could write something with Ladybug and Cat Noir, like possibly he accidentally gets tied up in her yo-yo thing and she takes advantage of the position. Thank you! <3
Oh my gosh im obsessed with this concept, thank you so much for submitting it! Im not the best writer but im going to give it a try!
if you ever have any requests, please send them- im forcing you to, you should take this as a threat
(also, here's some pics of chat noir simply because i'm obsessed 😁😁)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 965
“Well look what the cat dragged in.” Chat Noir winked at Ladybug, as she soared onto a platform of the Eiffel Tower, Chat gazed at the sight as if she were in slow-motion. The cool breeze of the clear paris night flowed through her hair, and Chat Noir couldn't help but be mesmerized by everything about his lady.
“Kitty, im too tired to deal with your cat puns tonight.” Ladybug rolled her eyes, then smiled at her blonde partner, folding her arms.
“Seems like someones not feline it tonight.” The lovesick boy teased, causing the girl of his dreams to cringe once again.
“I just might have to put these horrible cat jokes to rest.” Smirked Ladybug, reaching for her yo-yo from her waist.
“I don’t think these jokes are ever gonna take a cat nap.” Chat then replied, whipping out his staff, getting ready to put up a strong fight.
The two teen heroes playfully battled all throughout the eiffel tower, so high they could practically touch the stars in the paris night, as they spit their bad cat jokes and puns back and forth at each other. Their laughter echoed with Ladybug doing all sorts of difficult acrobatics, and Chat Noir, doing his best to make himself appear strong without hurting her.
Chat Noir extended his staff playfully towards ladybug, causing her to whip out her yo-yo in attempt to grab his weapon. She was a little too powerful in her throw, and ended up messily wrapping chat to a portion of the tower. But the fight was far from over.
As Chat sat on the platform dumbfounded with his arms tied behind his back, this vulnerable position gave Ladybug an idea, sure enough to tease the crap out of Chat about his horrible cat puns.
“Well this seems like the purrfect opportunity to prove to you just how bad your cat puns really are.” Ladybug smirked, looking down at the terrified boy. “Last I remember, you're very ticklish. Isn't that right kitty?”
Chat Noirs faced reddened “Uh- I- no? wait.. what?”
Ladybug bent down to readjust the yo-yo’s restriction, pinning chats arms above his head, She was now face to face with her flustered partner, her bluebell eyes leveled with his emerald cat eyes. “What's wrong Chat Noir, cat got your tongue?
“N-no. I’m not t- uh… so you can just let me go and we can continue our cat fight.” Chat struggled against his tight restraints, only to remember that Ladybug’s yoyo is indestructible. unless by a cataclysm, which he couldn't perform with his hands above his head.
“Well then, this shouldn't be that claw-ful of a situation for you, so there shouldn't be a problem if I don't let you go.” Ladybugs devilish gleam made Chat Noir realize just what was about to happen.
Ladybug spidered her fingers just above Chats mid-section, making her partner already begin to desperately beg.
“No no no m’lady, theres no need for this-” Chat already started to blush and smile, and then the poor victim was struck.
The strong hero threw his head back in a fit of helpless laughter as Ladybug began to flutter her fast fingers up and down his torso, putting her focus mainly on his sides and his cute little belly button.
“I’d say theres a slight paw-sibility that you are ticklish Kitty, but hush, you don't want to let that cat out of the bag to all of Paris. She teased, which definitely didn't help given Chats current place.
“Your cat puns are teheheherible” Chat managed to giggle out as he kicked his legs in front of him, only causing Ladybug to increase the speed of his torture.
“With the way I've got you laughing, I'd say you think theyre pretty hiss-terical.”
“They are nohohohohot NO-” Ladybug moved her spidering fingers up to Chat’s helpless underarms.
“PLEHEHEHEASE I CANT TAKE IT HAHAHA” Chat hopelessly squirmed, it was so hard for him to not be able to clasp his arms down as a defense.
“Oh really? because I could do this furr-ever.”
He was now speaking absolute nonsense through his adorable laughter, with his head shaking from left to right.
“Were not stopping this until you admit your cat jokes are paw-ful” Chat denied the offer through his playful torture.
“You're so stubborn Chat, but I know a way I could possibly purr-suade you. But I’m not that mean, so I’ll give you 30 seconds to say any last words.” Ladybug let up were wiggling fingers, leaving Chat Noir still giggling from the phantom tickles.
“I whahahat- I- I-”
“Youre so pathetic kitty, you're supposed to be a superhero! All I have to do is raise my hands above you and you'd literally fall to the floor.” Ladybug giggled, teasing her mess of a partner.
“This isn't fair, you know I can't take it.”
“That's exactly why I took advantage of this opportunity, to make you realize how cringy your cat puns are.”
“They are not cringy, you just don’t have a sense of humor!” Chat accused
“But I know exactly how to get you laughing!”
Ladybug then began to gently knead Chat’s defenseless hips, making him throw his head back into absolute hysterics.
He howled and bucked to try and pry Ladybug off of his death spot, all without success. This went on for what he thought was eternity. And im sure his unconcealable laughter did wake all of paris.
“IHIHIHIM GONNA DIHIHIHIE!” Chat practically screamed, unable to take it much longer.
“Good thing cats have nine lives.” Ladybug winked.
As Chat Noir’s laughter began to go silent with tears streaming down his cheeks, Ladybug knew it was time to let up on the poor hero.
“Your jokes are still bad.”
“I-Im sohoho getting you back f-for this m’lady.”

one step back, two steps forward (pt. 29)
masterlist
this was never a game.
The night was silent. It was so quiet that it felt like a dream that just a few hours ago there was an akuma on lose. Everyone slept in the cozy warm bed unaware of the events that might happen sometimes later.
 Many shadows ran across the rooftops. There wasn’t a single word exchanged between them. The tension was running high in the team.
 Today was the day.
  Today, they will strip the black cat of its power. They are getting the miraculous of destruction back.
 Just as they were closing in the Eiffel tower they all separated. Luna’s illusion magic covered all of their tracks, from their shadows to their very presence.
 Honeybee and Luna were the closest to the meeting spot. They were going to take action against black cat if he dares to retaliate. Ryu and Python were further than the others, ready to come out if need arise.
 Just as ladybug landed, chat also landed. In his hands was a big bouquet of red roses. It was clear what was going in his head and how far off from the real reason he was.
 His ear twitched as if trying to see the rest of the team was there or not. He seemed quite pleased when he couldn’t hear them. Not like he could top the extra layer of magic over them.
 Alright bugaboo, you don’t have to say anything! I just know how much you love me. I mean it was just a matter of time.
 Chat rambled as he waved his hands around. He wasn’t even giving her a chance to speak. The frown on ladybug’s face deepen as she kept listening.
 Was it always like this?
 Sighing, she cleared her throat effectively stopped chat from rambling any further. Chat stilled for a moment before smiling waiting. Ladybug sighed before put her hand out, looking at him expectedly.
 Chat’s face lit up as he tried to kiss her hand but ladybug pulled it away before he could.
 I’m asking for your miraculous.
 Are you saying we’re going to tell our identities to each other!?
 Chat asked excitedly, still not thinking about what could go wrong. He was just forcing his fantasies once again. Ladybug gritted her teeth, her patience was getting thin. She was so done with everything. Having people walk all over her or being a better person or being a good example or even still trying to see better in every person despite being hurt by them again and again.
 Chat, return your miraculous. The guardian has decided to strip of your power.
 There was silence. Chat tried to process what he heard. She must be joking, right?
 I think I heard you wrong. I swear I hallucinated when you said that I have to return the miraculous.
 No chat.     Ladybug looked at him with cold eyes.       You heard right. Return the miraculous.
 His eyes widen before he hid the ring in his other hand while walking back. Ladybug took a step towards him.
 n-no! This can’t be happening! You need a cat to stay active! You can’t get my miraculous back!
 It seems like you know. Fine then. The Guardian has decided since you haven’t been a true black cat, they decided to renounce your miraculous.
 There.
  She said it.
 Even though she winced inside, she didn’t show it on her face. Chat who was hiding his ring, started to put his guard up. He looked around as soon as realization dawned on him. Ladybug threw her yoyo but his reflex were faster as he hit it back with his baton.
 It was like he still had his instinct. Throwing her yoyo one more time ladybug fought chat to get his miraculous. He fought back, no wanting to return the miraculous. The only freedom he had.
 How could you betray me?!
 Betray you?! Do you think acting like all of this is a game and leaving me to fight akuma on my own while you threw a childish tantrum, isn’t it a bigger betrayal?!
 You know it you love me too! Why can’t you just say it? Stop throwing a tantrum and admit it!
 I never said that I loved you! All of that are your own fantasies! How many times I told you that I don’t like you!? If I wasn’t worried about getting my identity compromised I would have complained for sexual harassment.
 They were now on top of another rooftop. They had fought, trying their best what they thought was right. But now ladybug was angry. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Hawkmoth had sent an akuma by now.
 Sexual harassment? Not once have you said anything about my flirting! Now you want to just throw me away!
 Not once?! How about when I said NO!? OR WHEN I SAIDSTOP IT! WAS IT NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU TO GET IT THAT I DON’T LIKE IT!?
 Chat looked at her in dark eyes. He was not going to give up his miraculous. Not if he can help it.
 A familiar energy formed on his hand making ladybug gasp.
 Cataclysm!
 His hand inched closer. The crazy look in his eyes was something she wasn’t used to. Her eyes were blown away. He was ready to get rid of her. How could have this escalated this much?
 Just as it looked like she was going to turn into dust, something wrapped around her waist. A sense of Deja vu came over her, before she was pulled away. A pair of familiar arms caught her.
 Looking up, her eyes met yellow glowing ones. Her body slumped in relief. She wasn’t alone. She was never alone. Looking at chat, she saw him frozen. Honeybee had used her venom on him. Now Ryu and Python were turning off his cataclysm.
 Python used a paper and touched it with the destructive energy. As soon as he did, the paper turned to ashes. Ladybug and Luna joined in as well. They were going to pull the ring off his finger.
 Ladybug pulled off the miraculous and the transformation was gone. Honeybee gasped as she saw who was beneath the mask. Adrien Agreste was under the mask.
 Gritting her teeth, ladybug looked down on the blonde in distaste. To think she actually had a crush on him.
 Adrian Agreste, as the guardian of miraculous, I renounce your miraculous. From now on you will not be able to use any miraculous or share anything about miraculous with any other soul. That also include telling your former identity. Let this be a lesson for you.
 Putting a hand on his chest, she poured her guardian magic. A Chinese character formed on his chest making him groan in pain. As soon as she was done, Adrian looked broken.
 y-you can’t do that. I won’t have any more freedom. I would be caged in my own house. Please ladybug! Please! I need to speak to Plagg! He will listen to me! I need to see him!
 Despite other members frowning and hopping she would stop wasting her time on this lost cause, ladybug put on the ring and the Kwami of destruction came out.
 Plagg! Plagg! Tell them! Tell them you still want me as your cat!
 Plagg looked sorrowful, but said nothing. He was disappointed. He liked Adrian but he was tired. He tried. Really. But now, he was just tired.
 Plagg?
 The betrayal was clear in his eyes. He was alone. Luna walked behind him before knocking him out.
 Let’s get him home and leave. I’ll take ladybug back.
 Hearing that, they looked at their ladybug. True, she looked like she needs rest urgently. They waved at each other. Python and Ryu decided to get Adrian home.
 Luna kneeled in front of her. Apparently she was giving ladybug a piggyback.
 I’m oka-                   just get on.
 Not wanting to argue, she quietly get on, letting Luna run on the roof towards her home.
 Was it wrong of me to take his miraculous?
 No. you did the right thing. He would have been a liability in the future.
 I..... I just thought maybe I was mad at him and I just snapped. I could have dealt with it better.
 Anyone in your place would have done the same. It’s just different when they would have reacted.
 Ladybug stayed quiet, enjoying the cold wind. Luna was so strong. She had been supporting her as soon as she met her.
 She wanted to be just as strong.
 Just so you know. I would have killed him the first chance I had if I were in your place.
 A laugh spilled out of her mouth before it echoed in the quiet city.
 Bonus:
 Ladybug landed next to Honeybee on the roof of Le Grand Paris. Calling off her transformation Chloe said goodbye to pollen promising to see each other again in the future.
 Just as Chloe return the miraculous, ladybug pushed it back to her.
 Keep it. You’ll need it tonight.
 Wait tonight?
 ....we’re taking chat’s miraculous.
 .......
 Chloe was silent before sighing in relief.
Thank heaven! I was hoping you would get rid of that mangly cat. He was so ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.
 Ladybug sighed before waving goodbye to Chloe and swing away.
 Extra Bonus:
 I was so pissed at Adrian that I completely forgot about akuma. I’m so glad there was no akuma.
 Marinette fell on the deck chair. Tikki flew around getting a macaroon to eat. Kaylan still in her costume, waited for her to get inside.
 But she decided to sit out for now.
 Whoever is out there, thank you for not sending akuma!
 ............
 About that.........
 Luna brought out a few jars. The jars were specifically made to capture akuma with miraculous magic coated on it.
 Marinette looked at the jars blankly. Luna gave a crooked smile, making the bluenette scream in horror.

Courage My Love// Semi Eita
Tumblr media
Pairing: Semi Eita x Reader
Summary: You like Semi and come up with a plan to confess to him, unfortunately it takes a turn. You meet again a couple years later by chance.
Chapter Six: Shape Up
Series Masterlist•<previous•next>
Tumblr media
“Alrighty, your food will be ready shorty,” the waitress spoke before leaving with the booklets and you all thanked her.
Semi and you still haven’t had a real conversation since sitting down at the table together, just mumbling some words to get through the night which Taka took notice of. “Are you two nervous or something? It’s alright, I’m not scary and you guys don’t look scary. Enjoy yourselves please, besides this is all our treat to you guys.” Feeling guilty for your behavior you immediately apologized to Taka and his band mates and thanked them again for the invitation. Semi did the same as well. You’re both just gonna have to fake it. “It’s okay! We’re going to be spending a lot of time together so I think it’d be cool if we could get to know each other, where are you from? I’m from Tokyo.”
“Miyagi,” you and Semi answered at the same time.
“Oh! Have you guys met before or anything?”
“We went to the same high school,” Semi answered causing you to internally face palm.
“That’s crazy! Were you two friends?”
“We were. Then we lost touch when we graduated. You know, busy busy,” you spoke up before Semi could. The last thing you want was someone you look up to questioning your past drama. Just seeing Semi was enough to remind you of how things went down all those years ago.
“Yeah, this is actually our first time seeing each other since then.”
“Wow, now I’m the odd man out,” Taka laughed to which you did too. While laughing you felt something poke your side.
Semi was sneakily trying to hand you his phone. Semi started branching off to a different conversation with Taka to distract him which you know he did so you could look at his phone without suspicion since everyone else was having their own conversations. You took a quick glance at the text message he typed to someone but didn’t send.
“Can we talk after this?”
You glided your eyes back onto the two singers, focusing more on the ash blonde. You two haven’t spoken in six years, what could he have to say, you asked yourself. Starting to think out every logical scenario you could, you thought that he just wanted to get the confrontation out of the way so you could both do this tour without any issues. Whatever happens, you know that even if you say no, you’d have to talk to him eventually. Might as well get it over with sooner than later so you typed your response.
“Yeah seriously thank you so much for listening to my band too. I’m so glad you like us. I’m actually a big fan of your music,” you spoke, jumping into the conversation so you could pass Semi his phone back with ease under the table.
“Thank you. I really liked your voices and wanted you guys to join me for the last song on our set list. It’s one of the new songs off the latest album,” Taka explained.
“Which song is it?” You asked excitedly.
“Take What You Want. We made the song with 5 Seconds of Summer but I think you guys would sound really good doing their parts.”
“I’m so down!”
“Sounds good to me,” Semi added, amused by your enthusiasm.
“Here’s your food,” the waitress spoke as she set down your plates with the help of another waiter. You all thanked them for the food before enjoying your meals.
Tumblr media
The rest of the dinner was actually quite enjoyable. From what you could tell, Haruka and Jiro were mostly catching up with each other, which you understood since they were close their final year of high school. Tomo and Toru of One Ok Rock seemed to enjoy the stories Izumi was telling them while Ryota and Yui were having fun helping Ranmaru and Subaru practice their English. You loved talking with Taka. He was really easy to get along with and made it much easier to break the ice with Semi. You all finished your meals and left the restaurant together.
“That was the best meal I’ve had in forever!” Izumi announced when everybody was outside.
“Right? I cant way to try more food!” Jiro added on.
“What do you say guys?” You and Semi said simultaneously, crossing your arms and turning from each other.
“Thank you,” Your band members said all together.
“It’s nothing really,” Toru started.
“Yeah, we’re glad we got to meet like this,” Tomo added.
“We had a lot of fun tonight. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the tour will be like,” Ryota continued.
“You’re still very welcome. We’ll see you all tomorrow at the venue. Eita, Y/n, don’t forget, two in the afternoon for rehearsal. We’re heading back to our bus so good night,” Taka finished. The guys in One Ok Rock all waved you guys goodbye before heading off.
“They were really nice,” Subaru spoke.
“Yeah, this’ll be so exciting. It’s your guys first time in the US right?” Yui asked Won’t Regret.
“Yeah, thanks again for helping us practice,” Ranmaru said.
“No worries. You can ask us for help if needed.”
“Do you guys want us to walk you to your bus? It’s dark out,” Jiro offered, looking at Haruka for a response.
She smiled at him before responding, “Jiro you’re funny, our buses are in the same lot. We might as well just walk in a group.”
“Girls, you can head off. I’m gonna talk with Semi so I’ll catch up later.”
Yui was the first one to give you a worried look, wondering if you were fine being alone with him. Izumi and Haruka looked confused and curious. From what they knew, you haven’t been in contact with Semi since high school. Tendou was the one that mostly helped you through grieving the loss of your best friend but they could recognize the look of nostalgia in your eyes when you reminisced on old memories with him. They know you were strong, but it was a pain that never completely went away.
“How long?” Izumi asked.
“It might be a while,” Semi answered. “I’ll walk her back straight to your bus, don’t worry.”
The girls reluctantly let left you with Semi while the rest of boys accompanied them. As the groups walked away they would occasionally turn their heads back to the two of you out of curiosity to see what was going to happen. You were known for having a laid back attitude but stepping up and becoming assertive if need be in less than a second. Semi was typically pretty patient with you but it’s best to be careful since he has a shorter fuse.
“Hi,” Semi started awkwardly once his everyone was out of sight.
“Hey,” you responded in the same tone.
“Wanna go sit on that bench? Also, how’ve you been?”
“Yeah, and I’ve been good. You?”
He started walking across the street after looking both ways. “I’m doing great. How’s Tendou? Congrats on your marriage, by the way.”
“Marriage?” You asked confused.
“Didn’t you and Tendou get married and have a honeymoon in France?”
You let out a laugh before responding. “Tendou and I have been broken up for like three years now dude. I’ve never gone to France with Tendou, he went for his career and now lives there. I’ve only gone if it was for touring. Where’d you get that idea from?” You asked, gradually laughing harder resulting in Semi feeling relief. Half of it being that you might be single and the other part being that the laughing is a good sign that you’re willing to humor him.
“I saw he posted pictures of himself with the Eiffel Tower and stuff so I just assumed,” he chuckled along.
“Yeah but wouldn’t it make sense if I was in those pictures with him? I probably would’ve posted a picture of my ring too.”
“You know I follow you still?”
“Yeah, I pay attention to my notifications sometimes. I’ll be honest though, I did unfollow you.”
“Understandable,” Semi sighed.
You both went quiet after that, getting comfortable on the metal bench. Taking note of his expression, you took the lead for conversation. “What was it you wanted to talk about?”
“Oh uh, I wanted to apologize,” he responded, grateful for the dim lighting so his blush wouldn’t be super noticeable.
“Well, I’m listening,” you said before crossing your arms in a playful manor.
“I’m sorry for calling you a bitch. I’m sorry for raising my voice at you. I’m sorry for saying all that petty shit and hurting you. I’m sorry for all the pain I gave you. You know that saying that’s like ‘you don’t know what you have until you lose it?’ Well I lost you, and that was my biggest regret. All these years-“
“Semi, you can stop-“ you interrupted not expecting him to go on a full on rant for an apology. You were fine with a simple ‘I’m sorry’. Never would you have expected the ash blonde to list out every thing he did wrong. It was high school, that’s when mistakes are meant to be made because you learn from them. After walking the earth for twenty four years, you couldn’t give less of a shit about the things that happened. You grew up, you were over it, you have other things to focus on than hold onto a grudge because someone hurt you.
“Let me finish. Please. All these years I never tried to reach out to you because I think you made it clear that you didn’t want to speak to me and I respect that but oh my god I’m so proud of you. You’ve accomplished so much. You’ve traveled around the world, living your dream. I know we may have ended on bad terms but I have never, not once, ever wished for your life to take a turn for the worst. I’m genuinely so happy for you. I’m just so, so, sor- What? Why are you crying? I’m the one apologizing!” he asked, raising his hands to wipe your tears.
While listening to him all you could think about was how guilty you felt. “Because I’m sorry,” You answered, grabbing his wrists to pull them away from your face so you could wipe your own tears. “I’m sorry for pushing you away. I’m sorry for not reaching out either. I’m sorry for almost starting a physical fight with you.” You were letting all your frustrations out at this point from all the emotions you had built up inside you. While you had to admit you were upset with him, you were the one that started it. “I shouldn’t have said what I said the night of the talent show. I should’ve told you the truth. I started this. I’m the one at fault.”
“Y/n...” Semi wrapped his arms around your back, using one hand to guide your face into his chest to help you calm down. “It’s okay. You’re okay.” His voice was soft, different compared to the way he was speaking before. His task at hand was just to focus on you. “I missed you,” he spoke.
“I hmff ugh oo,” you responded, head still buried in his chest.
“What?”
You pulled away from him and straightened your back. “I said I missed you too.” You took a couple seconds to look at him. He looked almost exactly the same as he did back then. The only differences you could tell were that his hair was longer and he looked more mature, maybe a little buffer. It was somewhat comforting. “I don’t get it. I told myself I should hate you after all that happened but I could never bring myself to accept it. It’s weird that we’re talking with little difficulty right now to each other.”
“Little difficulty? I’m not gonna lie, my heart is beating so fast right now. I was so nervous to even hand you my phone at the table,” Semi laughed, eyes not looking away from your form laughing into your hand. “I don’t get it either though. I honestly thought you were gonna hate me and yell at me like, do you really forgive me?”
“How do I say this?” You asked yourself before taking a deep breath to answer his question. “After graduating and experiencing the real world, I realized I don’t need to focus on high school bullshit. We were so young-“
“Now you’re making me feel old.”
“Shut up! We were just teens. Now we’re adults, ya know? With bills to pay and actual responsibility. I’d rather focus on me, myself now than what happened in high school. Am I gonna forget it? No, it helped build the person I am now. Can I forgive? I may be a petty bitch and say I don’t wanna but what’s that gonna do for me? Nothing so I might as well.” After giving your long explanation you looked at him again and took in his features, old happy memories flooding back to you.
“Do you think we start over?” Semi asked hopefully.
“Yeah.”
“Hey, I’m Semi Eita. I play in a band and I’m a bit of an asshole sometimes. What’s your name?”
“I’m L/n Y/n and I also play in a band and can sometimes be a bitch,” you responded with a laugh.
“It’s nice to meet you. Can I walk you to where you need to be?” he asked, getting up and putting his hand out to help you up.
“Sure, that’d be really nice.”
After he helped you up, you started walking towards your bus with Semi walking right next to you. “Hey I’m actually playing a show tomorrow night, you should check us out!”
“No way, what time?” You asked deciding to play along.
“Like seven but you know how it goes, it’ll probably be more like seven-fifteen.”
“Ugh that’s annoying. Can you come to mine? I think I play at like eight.”
“Sure, dude. Anything for my bestie.”
“Aight I’m done. Bestie is too far, dude.”
“What! I can’t call you my bestie even though we just reunited six years after not seeing each other?”
“Correct. We can be ‘friends’,” you said, using your fingers to put air quotes, “but honestly I’m still on edge. Like after we went our separate ways it was hard for me to reconnect with people because it hurt when we ended things. I don’t wanna go through that again.”
Semi sighed, “I get that. Sorry again. I promise I won’t do that again.”
“It’s okay. And you better. Or else we’re really throwing hands,” you teased.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah!”
“Don’t make me go all WWE on you!”
“Oh my god Semi, is that a threat?”
“Y/n!” Izumi yelled which made you focus on your tour bus. The girls had each opened a window to stick their head out of and wait for your arrival.
“Are you okay?” Haruka asked.
“Do you want back up?” Yui followed up.
“I’m joking, Yui,” Semi said, putting his hands up in defense.
“You better, or else I’m gonna be the one fighting for y/n,” Haruka warned with a glare.
“I guess this is goodnight, Semi. You don’t want to throw hands with Haruka, she’s pretty buff. Thanks again. See you around,” you said as you waved him goodbye and hopped on the bus.
“See ya,” Semi responded. He turned around and threw his head upwards to the night sky and let out a sigh before walking to his bus.
Yui with her head still out of the window took notice of how Semi relaxed after you left him. “Hey, girly,” she started, getting up from her spot after closing the window. “You okay? How’d it go?”
“Yeah, I’m okay. It actually went surprisingly well.”
“That’s good news!” Izumi cheered.
“So are you friends again?” Haruka asked.
“Hmm, I guess so? We’re basically just starting over.”
“This tour is gonna be interesting,” Yui finished.
Tumblr media
Getting back onto his bus, Semi immediately felt three pairs of eyes glued on him. Jiro set his Nintendo switch down while Subaru put his phone on his lap and Ranmaru stood up.
“We’ve been expecting you,” Ranmaru started with a straight face.
“Yeah!” Jiro added only to be shushed by Subaru.
“Well... good news?” Semi responded, not knowing what to make of the way his band mates were acting.
“Go on...” Subaru said, this time being shushed by Jiro.
“First, I’m gonna be a guest vocal for One Ok Rock with Y/n during their last song. Second, I told Y/n everything I needed to say. We’re friends again. We’re all good,” Semi said with a smile.
Ranmaru took a few steps closer to Semi before lovingly slapping his back. “Proud of you, bro.”
“Woooo! Go Eita!” Jiro jumped up to hype up his bandmate.
“Awesome!” Subaru finished. “Happy for you man. Now, I hate to be the mom here, but we should get to bed. Tomorrow’s gonna be a long day.”
Tumblr media
“Good job guys!” Taka said, patting both of your backs.
“Thank you! Is there anything you want us to change?” You asked.
“Hmm, nah. I know most people say practice makes perfect but I think as the tour goes on we’ll improve the performance each night.”
“Sounds good,” Semi said.
“Can I give some feedback?” You asked. Taka and Semi both gave you a nod to go on. “You,” you pointed to Semi, “are being so stiff. It’s your first tour in the US. Loosen up! I’ll be blunt, if how to act now is how you’re gonna act during your set, which is the first one, you’re not gonna grab anyone’s attention. The majority of the crowd probably haven’t even heard of your band. You gotta draw them in.”
“I have to agree with her,” Taka joined in.
Semi grew wide eyed and turned a little red. You were about to speak up again but he beat you to it. “Sorry, I think I’m just nervous. This is all new to me,” he said, bringing a hand up to the back of his head.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to sound harsh! I just want you guys to grow. Being on tour right now is a big honor so I want you to get the most you can out of it. And-“
And you were rambling. Same old Y/n, Semi thought to himself, letting you ramble while he had a small smirk on his face, amused by the words you were speaking.
“Just perform how you would back then! I think if you brought that energy you’d really get a lot of people hooked!”
“Ya think so?”
“I know so. Can we try again but exaggerate our movements? This dude has to shape up.”
“I’ve heard so many stories about you mentoring the smaller bands, it’s nice to see that you live up to them,” Taka smiled.
“Thank you,” you responded with a blush. “Now Semi, follow our lead. And don’t let us down tonight.”

The Tickler (Pt. 1)
Author: GA!babe
Fandom: Miraculous Ladybug
~~~
*Insert MLB Intro here*
The College Francoise Dupont, the french secondary school that is plain in overall looks and grades. However, the students of this secondary school are anything but ordinary.
Unbeknownst to the staff and faculty, France’s most prized superheroes regularly walk the halls, stress about homework, and rest in the library. Ladybug and Chat Noir, mere classmates when akumas aren’t around and superheroes when people need saving.
It’s actually kind of sad that no one had ever noticed how both Adrien Agreste and Marinette Dupain-Cheng are never around when Chat Noir and Ladybug appear to save the day.
Sure, there have been close calls regarding their secret identities, but they both remain comfortably under the radar (somehow) of regular Parisian citizens and the owner of the Ladyblog, Alya.
“Girl, you are absolutely ridiculous. Why are you so worried about this party? Adrien even said he wouldn’t be able to attend.” Alya said, patting her best friend on the back comfortingly. Marinette yelped, the wrapped present in her hands almost falling onto the ground. She juggled with it for a moment before it settled back into her grasp.
“Phew…” Marinette sighed while Alya giggled at her. She looked at the present and then up to the school. “Well, since he isn’t going to be there, I have to give this to Chloe now while we’re in school. There’s no point in going to the party with everyone anyways. I don’t want to get into an argument with her in front of everyone.”
“I still don’t understand why that happened. Maybe she got akumatized and accidentally sent out everyone an invite,” Alya scoffed, looking down at the e-vite still in her email.
Today was Chloe Bourgeois’s birthday. Her 15th birthday to be precise. It was hard to remember that she was one of the oldest in the class when she 1) acted like such a stuck-up brat and 2) rarely told anyone she was celebrating her actual birthday until days after she came back from some far off celebration.
This year, Chloe had basically invited the entire school body over to the hotel her father owned. There were going to be celebrities, DJs, clowns, dances…basically everything a rich girl could buy with her parent’s money.
“Maybe she’s getting better, Alya. She has helped Ladybug and Chat Noir save Paris multiple times,” Marinette said, forcing a smile on her face.
“Yeah, only after creating the problem in the first place. She even tried to destroy all of Paris after they wouldn’t give her the bee miraculous back!” Alya huffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I’m sure she knows that what she was doing was wrong. She’s getting better, you know? At least she’s not like–” Marinette started before someone ran right into her, sending her sprawling onto the pavement.
“Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry Marinette!” a familiar voice said, practically dripping in insincerity. Just the sound of her voice sent Marinette’s teeth on edge.
“I was captured by the akuma yesterday and my sense of balance is all out of whack.” Lila said, placing a hand on her head to sell the idea that she was dizzy. Alya helped Marinette to her feet before looking back at the redhead.
“Are you okay, Lila? Do you need some help walking up the stairs?” Alya asked, offering a hand out to her as well.
“I don’t remember seeing you being captured, Lila. When did that happen?” Marinette asked, brushing herself off and placing her present under her arm safely.
“Oh, I was grabbed and pulled away pretty soon. I was taken all the way over to the Eiffel Tower and when it came down when Chat Noir cataclysmed it, I almost died!” Lila said dramatically, wobbling on her feet, unsure. Alya moved closer to her to have Lila lean up against her shoulder.
“I didn’t see that in any of the footage of the fights,” Marinette grumbled with a roll of her eyes. Of course, she knew that Lila was lying as she had made sure no one was in the Eiffel Tower when fighting off the akuma yesterday, but she couldn’t prove Lila wrong without letting her secret be known.
“Well, maybe if Alya had been there to capture some better footage for the Ladyblog, you would have seen it. Where were you yesterday?” Lila asked innocently.
Marinette tensed, looking between Alya, the fox miraculous holder, and Lila.
“Oh, I was at home. My cousins were too scared to be left alone. Maybe I could interview you for the blog!” Alya said with a happy smile on her face as she led Lila up the stairs.
“I would love that. Ladybug and I are such good friends after all.” Lila said.
Marinette had to chew on the corner of her present to stop herself from saying something then and there. The small red kwami floated up from her bag.
“It’s alright, Marinette. You know the truth, and you know that Lila will eventually be found out. Don’t worry about it too much.” Tikki said reassuringly. Marinette sighed.
“I know. It’s just so…so frustrating to see her lie like that. Alya didn’t even see her yesterday and she’s still utterly convinced. How does she do that?” Marinette asked. Tikki went to respond, then hid inside Marinette’s purse again before getting caught.
“How does she do what?” Another familiar voice asked, causing Marinette to jump again, though this time her fall was stopped by a pair of strong arms wrapping around her waist.
In front of her were Adrien’s deep green eyes and his soft smile. Marinette flushed bright pink and was suddenly very aware of how close she was with the love of her life. She quickly jumped out of his arms.
“Oh! Uh, hi Adrien! I was just laking about Tyla! I mean walking about the aisle-uh.” Marinette stammered nervously before taking a deep breath and trying again. “Just talking about Lila to myself,”
“Lila? Is everything okay? Did she say anything to you?” Adrien asked, his smile vanishing and his brows furrowing. He had always tried to give Lila the benefit of the doubt as she seemed to be living a very sheltered life, much like his own, but there were times when that just couldn’t happen. She always seemed to be out to hurt Marinette and Ladybug and he couldn’t let that happen.
“Oh, not really to me. She just gets on my nerves sometimes,” Marinette said, rubbing the back of her head nervously.
“I know what you mean. Let me know if she bothers you again and I’ll talk to her,” Adrien said and pat Marinette on the shoulder. That’s when he noticed the present under her arm. “Is that for Chloe?”
“Uh this? No way! I mean, yeah! Of course it is!” Marinette said and held up the present for him to see. It was wrapped in golden wrapped paper with a shimmering gift bow placed neatly on the top.
“Aren’t you going to the party later? Why’d you bring the present to school?” Adrien asked, tilting his head to the side.
“Oh, well, I have to go to the bakery after school and you know all the schoolwork that I’ve been missing because I’ve been sleeping in so much. I have to catch up on that and, yeah.” Marinette rambled.
“That’s a shame. My father is allowing me to go tonight. I would have loved it if you were there, Marinette. I know you two don’t get along very well, but I think you’re a good influence on her.” Adrien said. Marinette’s blush grew brighter.
“Uhhhh, yeah, really? To the party you? Going? Well, maybe I could talk to my dad about letting me leave the bakery. I wouldn’t want to let you down. Or let her down.” Marinette continued.
“Look out!” Alix’s voice called out as she zoomed towards Adrien and Marinette on her roller-skates.
Quick as a flash, Adrien grabbed Marinette by under her arms and moved her out of harms way. Alix slowed herself to a stop and spuna around to see if she had hurt anyone.
“Sorry about that guys.” She said and gave a little salute, “Could you tell Miss Bustier that I won’t be in class today? My grandpa wanted me to run some errands for him,”
“Okay, Alix!” Adrien said with a smile, not realizing that he was still holding Marinette by her underarms. That was, until Marinette started giggling uncontrollable. He set her down quickly, a fond smile on his face.
“Sorry about that, Marinette. A little ticklish?” He asked with an eyebrow raised.
“Pssh, what? I mean, a little maybe? Perhaps. That wasn’t even my worst spot. Not that I have a worst spot. What are we talking about? Oh, the party! Right, yeah. I’ll see what I can do about being there for the party. Thanks, Adrien!” Marinette rambled, making sure she had both Chloe’s present and her handbag before bolting up the stairs.
Adrien just shook his head as he watched her stumble and almost fall again. Marinette was so weird, but in a good way. It did make him kind of sad that she could never act normally around him like this, but at least she was still a good friend.
The only times he had ever really seen Marinette as herself, without stammering or falling over every five seconds, was when he was as his superhero persona, Chat Noir.
“You know, Adrien,” Plagg said, floating up from his shirt pocket. “Marinette’s laugh is kinda cute, don’t ya think?”
“Marinette? Of course she is.” Adrien said before walking back up the stairs to class.
~
Marinette stumbled into class, falling into her seat next to her friend rather ungracefully.
“What took you so long, girl?” Alya asked, resting her hand on Marinette’s shoulder.
“Adrien just tickled me,” Marinette said in a soft whine so that no one would hear what she had just said.
“He– what? Why?” Alya asked, amused yet thoroughly confused.
“He was just moving me out of the way and picked me up by my arms. He picked me up like I was nothing and I completely embarrassed myself by being so ticklish. He’s gonna think that’s so childish,” Marinette said, resting her head on top of the desk as she pouted.
“Well, you’re lucky he didn’t find your death spot, Marinette.” Alya said, wiggling her fingers menacingly at her friend.
“Ahahalya!” Marinette giggled, scooting away even though Alya wasn’t even tickling her yet.
“Maybe I’ll tell him where they are. Wouldn’t that be fun? Oooh maybe having him tickle you would make you act more normal around him.” Alya teased. Marinette playfully pushed her friend on the shoulder and Alya poked her in one of her death spots – a spot between her uppermost ribs.
Marinette squealed and toppled off of her seat. The majority of the class laughed it off, and Marinette blushed.
“What a klutz.” Lila huffed with a roll of her eyes. Kim turned around.
“Aren’t you ticklish, Lila?” He asked innocently.
“It’s probable that she is, Kim. Roughly 73% of people in the world are ticklish to some degree,” Max said with a small nod.
“Oh, well I must be a part of the 27% of people who aren’t.” Lila lied. “I actually have a really rare condition where I can’t laugh at all anymore. It’s really sad,”
“Oh, the Pseudobulbar affect? That’s so sad, Lila. I’m so sorry to hear that.” Max said and looked over Lila with a sense of pity.
“It is, but I get by. Maybe it’ll be cured by a true love’s kiss, but I don’t know of anyone who would want to do that for me.” Lila sighed dramatically.
“I could for you!” Kim offered and puckered his lips.
“Thank you, Kim, but I think it has to be someone who has a crush on me. Like, for real. I actually think Adrien might have a crush on me, but I could be reading it wrong. Oh well. Guess I’ll never be able to laugh,” Lila sighed.
“Don’t worry, Lila! I’ll talk to Adrien at the party tonight! We’ll get you laughing in no time!” Kim offered triumphantly.
~ ~ ~ ~
“This had better be the funniest clown ever. This is my birthday party after all and I can’t have it be anything less than perfect.” Chloe said while her servants ran around the hotel wildly, setting up decorations and putting together different games for the children to play.
Chloe looked at her phone invites in disgust.
“It was really nice of you to invite everyone from school, Chloe. Everyone is going to have so much fun!” Sabrina said excitedly.
“Of course, Sabrina. A party without lots of people would be ridiculous, utterly ridiculous. Besides, Adrikins needs to be able to see that I’ve grown since my last birthday.” Chloe said.
Just as she finished her sentence, the clown for the party stepped in. He was a slender guy with a brightly colored suit on and a big round nose. Le Pitre, his clown name was and he was the best in all of Paris.
“Knock knock, is that the birthday girl?” Le Pitre asked as he wandered in.
“Is this supposed to be the best clown in Paris? He at least dressed the part, maybe you could give my classmate Marinette some fashion tips, ahahaha,” Chloe laughed and then walked away to focus on some other aspect of her party. Le Pitre watched her walk away and then shrugged.
“Not exactly the laugh I was going for, but it’ll do! I bring laughter and joy to every part of the city i’m in!” Le Pitre said.
Little did he know that there was one person in all of Paris that would stop him from achieving his hilarious dream…
The soft sound of Peter's voice woke you up from your peaceful dreams. The soft memory of how you met replacing the harsh ones that troubled you. The smile that Peter watched as you slowly woke up felt priceless to him. He watched you as your rubbed your tired eyes, slowly bringing the focus back to him, yawning as you stretched your arms and legs.
"Morning sleepy head." He chuckled as he saw your ruffled hair and tired face.
"Morning?" You smiled as you grabbed your water bottle, easing the thirst that had pilled up in the back of your throat.
"We're landing in 20" He smiled brushing your hair with his fingers as you finished chugging down the bottle.
"Goes with me." You smiled before letting out a small laugh as you felt Peter staring at you.
"Shtop Shtaringg" You tried not to laugh too much as you still had water in your mouth, your unscripted goofiness sending butterflies to his stomach.
"Never."
~
The nice warm Venice air hit your face as you glided through the city canals, heading towards your Hotel.
You looked at Peter as a smirk lightly formed on the corner of your lips, sending a stick of wickedness to your eyes. You eyed the dark waters and then Peter, bending down to splash him right across his shirt and face.
He looked at you in shock as his clothes became all wet, locking you in his arms as payback. You giggled as he held an iron grip on you not letting you go until you reached the Hotel; MJ, Ned, and Betty memorizing the moment with some pictures.
You pecked Peter's lips as he finally let you go before grabbing your suitcase and dragging it to the hotel, accidentally walking on a flow of wet water a step lower to the door.
"In Venice, you get your socks wet!" The teacher's voice rang through your ears as shook your soaked shoe, it making a smoosh sound as you dropped your feet on dry floor.
"Great." you sassed making Peter crack a small laugh before he kissed your temple. "It's bad luck to get your socks wet in my reality." You grumbled as Peter laced his fingers through your hand.
"Well, it's not here." He smiled. "C'mon let's put our bags upstairs. You can change your shoes there." He smiled as he helped you push your suitcase up the flight of stairs that led to a hall of ugly grey rooms.
"No boy/girls groups." The teacher said as he handed the keys to duos who walked over. You let out a large sigh as you kissed Peter's cheeks before lumping your way towards MJ with your wet soggy shoe. "Partners?" She nodded as a reply and you pouted towards Peter as you grabbed your keys.
You changed your shoes, and before you knew it you walked hand in hand with Peter on the warm streets of Venice, MJ lazily following the two of you.
Peter tried to hand you over to MJ, his plan to buy you something nice without you seeing starting to get harder and harder by the second and Ned not helping his case. So after a few minutes of dealing, Peter managed to slip his way out of your small group of three, leaving you alone with MJ.
"I bet you 10 dollars he's on his way to buy me something." You chuckled. "I don't know what though." You frowned as you didn't remember asking him for anything in Venice, the thought of the blown glass necklace you dreamed of being a far off into a corner of your memory.
"How are you, girls?" Brad suddenly slid in front of you, earning a wiggly smile from your part.
"Brad... yay." You turned a little towards MJ for the last part of your sentence, and she chuckled at your reaction.
"So Y/n how do you find Venice?" He wondered walking right next to you, making you in the middle of a sandwich with MJ and Brad.
Meanwhile, Peter trotted his way to Venice, the words you'd spoken to him a short while after you'd arrive in his reality stuck to his mind.
"So if you could have one item back to remember your reality what would it be?" Peter asked on a rainy day as you finished folding your clothes from moving into the Avengers compound.
"Um... That's a good question." You let out a sad chuckle as you placed the clothes inside your new closet. "A glass Black Dahlia necklace from Venice."
"That's oddly specific." Peter tilted his head ad let out a soft chuckle, while you looked down at your clothes thinking for a minute as you remembered the design.
"It was the first flower I'd ever manage to bring to life when I learned how to use my powers. My mother gifted me the necklace on our trip to my reality Venice." You gave him a tight-lipped smile. "It crumbled to pieces during the apocalypse..." You lowered your head as you mumbled the last few words.
"Oh... Im sorry" Peter stood up from your bed and walked over to you.
"It's ok." You smiled before Peter took your hand in his, your frown getting wiped out by a smile.
"A pretty necklace for a pretty girl." The man showed Peter the necklace and Peter's face lit up with a bright smile as he watched the fine details, hoping it looked at least a little bit like the one you had lost.
"Grazie" Peter smiled all the words stuck in the back of his throat as he imagined your reaction when he gave you the necklace on top of the Eiffel tower in a few days.
~
"Hey! Peter!" A bright smile had settled on his lips as he walked up to you, MJ, and Brad.
You let out a large sigh of relief as you were finally saved from Brad's flirting. You almost jumped into your boyfriend's arms, Peter gladly handing the hug back, kissing your lips on the way. You kept your hands on Peter in a way to rub it in for Brad, hoping it would make him leave you alone once and for all.
"What's this?" You questioned as you spotted the small orange bag that was balancing on his fingers. Peter quickly hid it behind his back, a blush creeping on his pale cheeks.
"Nothing... Just something to bring back to Queens," He gave you a tight smile making you raised an eyebrow before crashing on Peter's side, Peter placing a protective arm around you.
Brad rolled his eyes before leaving, making Peter question the boy's sudden change of mood. You smiled as you watched him leave, making MJ laugh.
You had a few peaceful seconds of walking through the fresh streets of Venice, the summer air lingering on your skin. But the moment quickly broke as you suddenly felt the air change, eying the water to find your answers. You approached the shore as MJ was already crouching down near crabs who were fleeing.
"That's not normal." You said, Peter eying you in concern. If someone like you who could control the elements thought something was wrong with the way sea creatures acted, then he knew you weren't safe.
Suddenly a gigantic splash of water rose from the middle of the canal, a face starting to form as it grew meters high at lighting speed. But when you observed the mass of water for answers the feeling of emptiness in the air took you aback. Peter quickly took your hand pushing you towards empty streets, grabbing two masks on the way before you could even say a word about your constat.
"Here." He shoved it towards you as quickly as he could and you hesitantly took it before placing it to your eyes, Peter quickly putting his web-shooters to his wrist. You eyed him weirdly as he shot webs into the water monster.
"Seriously? Did you not learn anything by dating me?" You chuckled as you started walking towards the water, carefully watching as buildings crumbled.
"Somethings wrong."
"No shit." Peter sassed with a smile making you roll your eyes and slightly shoving him with your shoulder.
"Im not talking about that." You paused as you tried sensing the area in more detail. "This isn't water. I feel nothing but air." You shook your head. "There's things moving around though. Like floating objects." You turned to Peter who looked as confused as you were. "Here." You pointed to a random point in the air. "And here." You pointed again towards the top of the monster, where nothing was standing but blue sky.
Peter didn't have time to answer or react to your statement before a tower started crumbling before your eyes. Peter quickly rushed towards it and you floated to the top, trying to hold it in place with vines.
"What is this?" You asked yourself as you continued staring at the buildings that were getting destroyed one by one, nothing about the monster making sense.
You kept close attention to the air behind you, feeling nothing but light dust from the falling buildings. Peter's eyes suddenly widen as he looked behind you making you question as the air felt blank. You quickly turned your head around and spotted a man with a red cape flying towards the mass of water, one that felt like thin air.
"What the-" You felt your heart pound in your chest as you started questioning your senses, wondering if they were broken.
You eyed the scene, each blast the man would realize feeling as though nothing was crossing the water or air surrounding it. Before you knew it the water monster was destroyed and the figure left leaving you in shock.
~
"Mysterio I like that name," Ned stated with Betty as they watched the news, MJ sitting a few steps above you on the staircase.
"I couldn't feel him." You had your face in your hands in frustration as Peter stood right next to your listening to your every word, trying to bring the pieces of the puzzle together.
"What do you mean?" He wondered as you groaned in frustration, tapping your foot on the ground as you did.
"It was like he didn't exist." You said in disbelief as you eyed the grey ugly old carpet that rolled out in front of you. "It was like he was just air-" You let out a loud sigh and a new groan of frustration escaped your lips. "What's wrong with me. I can feel you. I can feel everyone and everything that's in the air of this room... Then why didn't I feel him or the monster?" You rubbed your face as you felt as though you were about to tear up.
"Well, maybe you're just tired?"
"No Peter- I don't get tired. That's the problem. I've controlled my powers all my life and I've known how to use them ever since I learned how to walk! They've never let me down..." A silence lingered between you and Peter as a weight plopped down into your stomachs. Your speech leaving Peter wordless.
The night quieted down and everyone started walking back to their rooms, the tension in your shoulders still not leaving you. Nothing seemed to be wrong. Every single one of your powers worked, then why couldn't you feel a thing during the attack?
"You alright?" Peter asked you, placing a hand on your shoulder as he saw the frown that was still bright on your face. "You want to come and talk?" You eyed the teacher as his words entered your ears, carefully waiting until they were both off to their rooms to nod yes, stressfully biting your nails as Peter walked you to his room.
"Im sure it's nothing Y/n/n" Ned shrugged as he opened the door.
You all took a step in before a tranquilizer was shot right on Ned's neck taking you and Peter aback. Both your heads snapped towards the one and only Nick Fury.
"Nick!" Your preppy voice filled the air as you trotted over to take him in a hug, your presence taking him aback.
"Hey Y/n! Didn't expect to see you here..." He almost questioned your presence as he gave the hug back.
"Well, I told you I was going to Peter's school before the snap-" You answered. "And we didn't really have time to talk at the funeral..." You let your words linger as you didn't want to memories from Tony's funeral clouding your thoughts.
"Right- Now I remember seeing you with him." Nick pointed his gun towards Peter who gave him an awkward smile, a silence falling between the two.
"You're a very difficult person to contact Spider-man." Nick's cold voice went right through Peter, your brows folding as you didn't reckon Nick trying to contact your boyfriend.
"So good to finally meet you." He almost smiled as his hand slipped away from your shoulder, Fury giving Peter his full attention.
"So good to finally meet you. I saw you with her at the funeral but I didn't think that was a good time to exchange numbers." He quickly pointed towards you before folding his arms.
"Yeah that would have been really inappropriate-" Peter nervously replied.
"That's what I just said." Nick deadpanned and you placed your hand on top of your mouth trying not to laugh at his comeback. "Important thing is you're here. Even better. You're both here." He stopped to look at you. "I tried to bring you here. But now you're here. What a coincidence... And I was going to contact you Y/n by the way. I know you can come with barely a day's notice if I need you" He quickly smiled towards you before staring back at Peter.
"Wait was this a coincidence?"
"I use to know everything... But then I come back 5 years later and nothing- No intel no team. And a highschool kid is dodging my calls."
"Wait Nick Fury was calling you and I didn't know?" You spoke out of the blue making Peter even more nervous.
"I-"
"You didn't think to tell me Nick Fury was calling you!?"
"I told you I thought we needed a vacation!" He defended placing his hand on your shoulder, but your face didn't soften at the gesture.
"Peter this is Nick Fury! He's like my best friend after you and Bucky!"
"Im sorry- But-"
"Excuse me but I don't need your teenage romance drama entering this mission. We have bigger things to worry about. I need both of you to come with me" Nick Fury stopped your conversation and both your head snapped towards him.
"But we can't just-" Peter debated but Nick raised his hand telling him to shut up.
"Let's go."
~
"I don't trust him," you whispered to Peter who was compelled my Mysterio and hung to every single lie he was feeding him.
"Y/n c'mon. Just hear him out."
"I already am!" You said above a whisper catching the attention of everyone in the room. "I'm not going to lie when I say that I've just listened to 20 minutes worth of bullshit." This time you spoke up.
"How did you get here Beck?" You asked the man who's face suddenly fell from confident to nervous in a matter of seconds.
"I um- I used a-" He looked around for answers the only backstory he hadn't scripted hitting him like a bus. "I used my powers. Back there I could make portals that would lead to different realities. I can't anymore."
"So you're like Doctor Strange?" You wondered folding your arms as you were happy with his crappy answer.
"I guess, yes," he answered his confidence making a smirk rise on your lips.
"Then where's your sling ring?" You questioned.
"My what?"
"If you're like Doctor Strange, making portals between realities. Then where's your sling ring?"
"I don't have one." He answered tension building up between the two of you.
"Then I repeat. If you don't have a sling ring to make portals thing how did you get here Mr.Beck?"
"Y/n that's enough!" Nick fury broke your argument to an end. "Don't you see Beck's been through a lot? I get that you have been too, but don't you think that there's probably other way to shift realities?" He questioned leaving you speechless. "Now, you two will come and help us defeat this elemental, especially with your powers Y/n"
"Im done here." You dropped your hands to your side bitterly chuckling. "Pick me up when you want. I will help you because you're my friend Nick, but im not helping him." You pointed to Mysterio who hid his game well behind his fake costume. "Don't come to find me when you see him vent"
"Huh?"
"She means when you see him stab you in the back- Its um a video game-" Peter stuttered.
"I would vote him out if I were you." You waved from behind as you left the group who was staring at the exit with wide eyes as you disappeared away.
~
"What was that?" Peter asked you as he finally left the building, a slight amount of relief filling him as he found you sitting near the water.
"I don't trust him." You stammered keeping a firm eye on the movements of the water.
"Give him a chance Y/n/n" Peter tried to place a hand on you but you backed away.
"No Peter. How could you even ask me that? Shouldn't you also trust me then? Peter, I know the elements like no one! Those creatures are not-"
"But his earth was destroyed by them! Don't you understand what could happen to our earth! You want the same thing that happened to your reality happen here?"
"It won't Peter because they're not real!"
"So now you don't trust the good guys?" Peter raised his voice and you immediately knew where he was going. "Should I remind you, you trusted Thanos. Should I remind you that you wanted to let Thanos get all the stones?"
"Don't go there, Peter." You felt the tears come back to your eyes as he used your mistakes as a weapon against you.
"You're telling that you forgot about your little 'I'm on his side' moment, while we were literally battling for our lives. Should I remind you that you gave him the time stone?" His words made you cry even more as they were cutting through you even deeper.
"IT WASN'T MY FAULT." You screamed having enough. "HE PROMISED HE WOULD BRING EVERYTHING BACK" You spat out tears still falling. "HE PROMISED HE WOULD BRING MY REALITY BACK!" You cried even more as your words fell out of your mouth in pain. "He told me he would use to reality stone- and the time stone together-" You felt the words chug out of your mouth.
"Was that what you really wanted?" Peter replied with a bitter taste in his mouth. "To go off back to your reality. That nothing ever happened. Like you had never met me? Like you had never met Tony and the others. That you stayed with your first boyfriend." He spat out and he suddenly felt the weight of his words.
"DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO LOSE EVERYONE PETER?" you stopped, preparing to lower your voice as you realized he did lose a lot of people close to him, but the anger too strong to let those thoughts come to action. "Do you know how hard it is to lose not only your parents but your entire family!? Every single one of your friends... Apart from Kayland- but." You sniffed. "Do you know how hard it is to lose every single thing you know because it was turned into bits by a monster who only got bigger as he thirsted for everything that moved? And even lose your EX BOYFRIEND BY THE WAY! I told you a hundred times we broke up before the apocalypse-" You couldn't trust your voice as you made eye contact with him. "I never thought you'd ever brought any of this up!" You realized with trembling words as you placed your hand up to your forehead. "It was a mistake trusting Thanos. One that I won't make again" You took a small pause to breathe as you felt the air close on your lungs.
"I trusted you and I thought you trusted me. IM THE NYMPH FOR THOR'S SAKE PETER! I can control any elements! Isn't that enough proof! And right now I can't feel anything! It was like that water monster didn't exist! And I would know if the elementals were real! They're me!" You laughed in disbelief as you choked on your words as Peter's poker face stayed up making you feel as though he had planted a knife through your chest.
"Maybe you're just tired! Like me with my spidey sense!" He tried to defend himself but he was just digging himself into a deeper hole.
"No Peter. This isn't like your spidey senses. I know my powers and I know the elements like no one in this reality. May I also add I traveled from a reality to another, and that man doesn't come from anywhere but here. And I didn't mean to go with Thanos, we both know that if he promised you he'd bring uncle Ben back you would have done the same..." You said without another word before turning around ready to walk away.
"Wait Y/n-" Peter tried to catch your arm but you pulled away with a small blast of wind as a way to protect yourself.
"Don't. This is over" Your stern words cut Peter like a knife as you walked away into the cold streets of Venice, not feeling the walk back to the crappy hotel just yet.
Soulmarks, Part 18
First part
Previous
~~~
Tim hugged himself. He was, in a word, shaken.
In many words, though, he was absolutely terrified of what Inamovibi-Lady had become. From dropping him and Bruce off a building to murdering Harley and Joker in gruesome ways, she was extremely amoral in how she achieved her goals. Sure, he’d known that akumas have their own moral code, but it had never really sunk in until he’d been faced with it.
And the akuma had told him that Marinette was inside there, and that she wasn’t particularly against anything she was doing.
But how true was that?
It appeared that she was just now starting to process what she’d done. She was shaking a little bit, her eyes wide. He hesitated and detransformed momentarily to get his jacket and then draped it over her shoulders. It wasn’t a shock blanket, but it would have to do.
She looked at him for a second and seemed to smile a little more (it was hard to tell) before looking down at her yoyo.
He went back to standing a careful distance away, his eyes wandering to his family. Everyone seemed a mix of sickened and frightened by what had happened.
Adrien was full on crying, curled up on the floor with his head in his knees. Fair enough, this really wasn’t his night. He’d found out his father was the supervillain he’d been fighting for years, had his best friend akumatized, had difficulty communicating with everyone, and now an akuma that he’d helped create had brutally murdered two people. A breakdown was pretty much inevitable.
Dick sat down next to him and pulled him into his side. Adrien didn’t seem to know what to do with the affection for a second before burying his face in his shoulder.
“Master Fu’s house, please,” said the akuma, bringing his attention back to her.
He hesitated slightly.
He was definitely going to be alone for this one. Even if he could break the moral barrier keeping him from taking a crying Adrien along to fight her, he doubted that he would be of much help.
But it wasn’t like he was really getting any choice in this. Her next target after the ‘Master Fu’ person was definitely going to be Hawkmoth and, though he could admit that she was stronger than normal, they definitely weren’t prepared to fight him. He had to beat her.
How, though? Sure, he at least knew that she wasn’t trying to hurt him (he’d just found out what would have happened to him if she had actually wanted him dead), but that didn’t mean much when she went to drastic measures to ensure that things went her way. He didn’t know how lenient she would be with him if she actually thought him a threat, because she obviously didn’t --.
He felt a hand rest on his arm and pulled himself from his thoughts to send Inamovibi-Lady a smile.
“Sorry.”
She raised an eyebrow at him and crossed her arms over her chest. He tried not to think about the bloody handprint now on his arm as he glanced at his family. Still no help. Great. How dare they be in shock?
He gave Inamovibi-Lady an awkward smile and opened a portal underneath them.
When they dropped into the tiny shop it took everything in Tim not to slam his head against a wall. Master Fu was just sitting at the table, drinking tea and eating sandwiches. He’d had a five hour warning, why the fuck hadn’t he even tried to run?
She twirled her yoyo, her black eyes narrowed to slits.
“Hello, Marinette.”
“Inamovibi-Lady,” she corrected. Her head tipped to the side. “You’re not going to run away?”
“If you’d like to air your grievances, I would love to hear them.”
The akuma, if possible, looked even more suspicious. “Really?”
Master Fu shrugged and gave a tiny wave of his hand before leaning back. “Mhmm. Go on.”
“I…” Inamovibi-Lady began, then stopped. There was a few times where she opened and closed her mouth, unsure what to do in this type of situation, and then she shrugged and brought her microphone to her hand. “Right, um… citizens of Paris! I’m back, and I’m here to do hearing number five! Well, four for you guys, but five total! With us today is Wang Fu!”
The old man caught Tim’s gaze and then flicked his eyes to the side quickly. Was Tim sure it had meant something? Yes. Did he have any clue what this guy was trying to say? No.
“Now, what he did was particularly messed up. Imagine, you’re a kid on their way to school, and you see this old man about to get run over. You help them. And, because of this, this random guy decides to give you the responsibility of making sure the entire city of Paris never falls to a superterrorist!”
“You must understand --.”
“Shut up. I’m not done.”
Tim rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly and took a few short steps back so he could hopefully stay out of this conversation.
He also took the chance to detransform out of Inamovibi-Lady’s view. He didn’t know if Hawkmoth could hear and see everything that the akuma could, but he wasn’t going to test it. Kaalki floated over to Master Fu and stole the bread off of his sandwiches before settling herself on Tim’s shoulder to eat.
“Let’s skip over the fact that you asked two thirteen-year-olds to protect an entire city for now, because let’s talk about the fact that I didn’t have a choice!”
“You could have refused at any point.”
“Like hell I could! The city was under attack and it was obvious no normal person could do it, and then after that I was too popular to just disappear! At least the Americans recruiting kids ask them if they want to do it before they set them up as vigilantes!”
Tim transformed again and crossed his arms over his chest as he considered what to do.
He kind of wanted to let her attack the old man -- he knew first hand exactly how stressful being a vigilante is, and the idea of being thrown into it without warning was enough to make him wince -- but, at the same time, letting her do that would be kind of messed up of him.
Also, he had no plan at all, which was kind of a problem if he was going to be trying to stop her.
“So, now for your judgement.”
Shit!
“How about…” She tapped her finger on her chin as if in thought for a moment before smiling widely. “I take those miraculi off your hands. You’re clearly too old to make proper decisions about who to give them to, and I have someone better in mind.”
He needs a plan! And now!
Ah. There’s one. A bad one. But one nonetheless.
He launched himself at the akuma from behind and they both cursed as she stumbled and threw them off-balance.
But, instead of just falling to the ground for a wrestling match, her back hit something invisible and they screamed in a mix of panic and confusion as the illusion broke to reveal that they were in the turtle miraculous’s shield. They had bigger problems, though, as they rolled through the room.
They came to a stop when they hit the wall, which was unfortunate considering they were at the top. They fell the few feet to the bottom of the hamster ball and groaned.
Tim peeled his face out of her stomach and slowly pushed himself up and looked around.
Master Fu was wearing both the turtle and fox miraculi.
Well, now he knew what he’d been trying to tell him earlier: to move so he wouldn’t be caught in the hamster ball, too. Wow. Wish there was a hand motion for that or something, because Tim was not eager to be back inside, and especially not with a particularly angry akuma.
Actually, now that he was thinking about it, she was taking this remarkably well (for an akuma). Inamovibi-Lady laid back in the hamster ball and started doing tricks with her yoyo.
“You can’t keep this up forever, Fu. You have to sleep. I don’t.”
Oh. That made sense. Unfortunately.
“Besides, since Hawkmoth knows you have miraculi here, I’m expecting him to come by at some point. Gonna protect yourself and the miraculous box or keep me in here?”
Can she please stop making sense? Just for a few minutes?
He sighed and covered his ears. He needed to concentrate. He needed a plan. He had quite a bit of time, he assumed, but the faster he fixed this the faster everything could work out.
Well, not work out, they were long past that point, but at least it would be over.
His eyes found their way to her yoyo. Of course they did, it was moving around wildly, and the human eye is attracted to movement. But…
Tim shrugged to himself. A terrible plan came to him, it was really too bad they were desperate. He grabbed the akuma’s arm and opened a portal underneath them.
And they were falling.
Inamovibi-Lady screamed obscenities as they plummeted towards earth, the Eiffel Tower whizzing past them at lightning speed. He pulled her actual yoyo from his belt just in case he was wrong in how he thought this would play out...
She pulled him to her side and he breathed a sigh of relief as she threw her yoyo. She hooked it around a beam and their fall came to a jerking stop that he was not ready for. He swore he left his stomach about ten meters up.
But no time to think about that! He wrapped his arms around her as well.
“That went to plan,” he said.
“Really? Your plan was to almost die, then?” He couldn’t tell for sure, but he knew she was rolling her eyes. “You’re literally so stupid. You and Chat should have a stupid-off.”
He grinned.
She looked around for a safe place for them to land. “You might need to climb the string to get up. How good are you at that?”
He gave a tiny shrug and made a move to push himself up, only to pull the earring from her ear.
Relief flooded through him as purple and black engulfed her and her weapon. Done. Finally.
He only came to realize his mistake the moment her yoyo started to disappear.
And they were falling again.
And she was barely conscious.
And he had no idea how yoyos worked as weapons or grappling hooks are you kidding me?
He looked at the one in his free hand and shrugged mentally. He either doesn’t try and they both end up dead, tries and fails and they both end up dead, or tries and actually succeeds. He hooked his arm and legs around her as tightly as he could and prayed that it was even slightly like his grappling hook as he threw it.
They swung to safety. Kind of. He caught them pretty close to the ground, and the yoyo didn’t really hook around the beam all that well, so it mostly just slowed their fall, but outside of a few bruises they’d probably be fine when they took off their suits.
He groaned quietly and crushed the earring in his hand and caught the akuma.
And then he let himself lay down beside a confused and groggy Marinette.
Tim watched the sun start to rise and sighed, bringing an arm up to cover his eyes.
It had been a long night, but it was over now.

Felinette day 2 call out
Felix’s POV
His mother had forced him to go live with his cousin, ugh, so here he was, the entrance of his cousin’s house. Uncle was standing at the top of the stairs……again, seriously why does he always stand there. it’s like he just has a statue of himself at the top of the stairs that can talk.
“Felix, I trust you had a great flight I’m sure you would like to sleep of the jetlag but before that we have to set some ground rules.”
“first of all, I have enrolled you to Adrien’s school and I have made special arrangements for you to be in his class.”
Ugh, of course how could he ever forget, no running we have a reputation to uphold, photoshoots, fencing, Chinese- wait what?
“other than that, the other rules are the same: no running around we have a reputation to uphold……………”
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???! I have to go to his school and his class and look at his face? AND I’m miles ahead of all of them in everything!”
Obviously, he would never shout out loud like that so he stuck to his thoughts instead.
Tuning back into reality, Gabriel was done repeating the rules he had remembered by heart and dismissed him.
-The next day-
Adrien was already ready  and pointing at the door, “hey Fe, ready to go?” with a noise of confirmation they left the house.
-------------------------cue long drive to school with a hyperactive cousin-----------------------------
 “Good morning students” shouted (well not really shouted but he was standing next to her okay?) The teacher with red hair to which Felix winced at. “Today we have a new student joining us! And I’m sure you’ve all heard by now Lila’s home from her trip to Achu and she is back in school with us again.” he noticed something or rather someone who wasn’t here before, an Italian looking girl with chestnut hair that was tied up into what looked like three sausages and huge bangs at the front, with an olive skin tone and emerald green eyes that looked at him then at Adrien and had a look of confusion on her face. BUT! She then proceeded to IGNORE HIM. HIM! HE WAS A FREAKING INTERNATIONAL MODEL AND ACTOR AND THAT CAGNA IGNORED HIM! But whatever from the way she looked at his cousin she was probably a gold digging harpy. And his suspicions were correct when she greeted everyone.
“hi everyone,” she said in a fake sounding voice.
“Hi Lila!” the class sounded back. Lila? That’s her name?
“Oh~ a seat in the front row! You all remembered my hearing issues! You’re such sweethearts all of you~” “Mwuah!”
He inwardly cringed
“You have a hearing problem, Lila?”
‘hmm?’
“yes, I suffer from tinnitus. A constant ringing in my left ear. I’ve had it ever since the sound of an airplane engine burst my ear drums on the runway when I was saving Jagged Stone’s lost kitten.”
He had to admit her voice sounded genuine like it actually happened and he might have never found out she was lying if one, he was not an actor and could see the difference between genuine and fake faces and two, if her lies weren’t a load of bull. LIKE, COME ON! Which airline would let an UNDERAGE GIRL WHO’S UNAUTHORISED, ON THE RUNWAY? That airline would have closed down long ago if they couldn’t keep people from running on to the runway for reasons unknown.
The worst part is, yes there’s a worse part, his classmates seemed to believe the story she just pulled out of her ass. Well at least there was one student who doubted her.
“isn’t Jagged Stone’s pet a crocodile?”
“Now it is, yes. He had a kitten until he found out he was allergic to it.”
Deciding that everyone here was way too dumb and he didn’t want to lose any brain cells so he decided stop whatever quarrel was definitely going to go on.
Faking a cough, everyone seemed like they just remembered he was there. Even the teacher. If he were living in a comic or a cartoon there probably would’ve been one of those red crosses on his head.
“Right. Class, this is our new classmate, Felix Graham De Vanily.”
Hi’s, welcomes and clapping were heard around the room.
‘Could I just not have come?’
“Now Felix you and Marinette can sit in the back together. Also, as class president, Marinette can you show Felix around the school?”
“sigh, yes miss Bustier.”
When both of them sat down she started to introduce herself, “Hi, I’m Marinette. We can start the tour at lunch today and if you have any questions about the curriculum just ask me or anyone in the class.”
She said with a sad and tired smile.
…It looked… sincere…
Going with a simple nod they both turned their attention to the front.
After the tour he stayed back at the locker room near one of the corners. It was easy to blend into the shadows now that the people in Paris didn’t know him. despite being an international model (and sometimes actor) his face wasn’t well known as Adrien in France.
To that, he was thankful for.
Sticking to the shadows to read his book not five minutes in the girl- Marinette was it? Came back, and into the bathroom next to the locker room along with the sausage haired girl right on her heel.
“Marinette? Are you crying?”
“No, I’m not.”
“I can sense that you don’t like me but I don’t understand why, we barely know each other.
Don’t tell me it’s because of this new seating arrangement in class. It is! Of course, you were jealous because I’m sitting next to Adrien because you would have given anything to sit there yourself. You know what? It’s really not worth fighting a for a boy, you and I could be friends and who knows? I might even be able to help you with Adrien.”
Oh? Crush on my cousin? But it seemed like she was just cast into the back without her input despite all the others getting to sit at the place they wanted to.
“ugh. You and I will only be friends the day you stopped lying, Lila.”
So she knows she’s lying?
“I can’t prove it but I know for a fact you don’t have tinnitus, that your wrist is just fine, but you don’t know prince Ali cause’ you’ve never even set foot in Achu, and despite what you got Alya to write on her Ladyblog Ladybug has never saved your life.”
The first one definitely correct and so is the second one possibly, the third one might be a bt of a stretch and the fourth one, who the heck is Ladybug?
“I only tell people what they want to hear.”
“it’s called lying!”
“There’s nothing you can do about it anyway. People can’t resist when they hear what they like to hear. If you don’t want to be my friend, fine. But soon you won’t have any friends left at all and trust me, I’ll make sure you never get close to Adrien in class or anywhere. You’ve been a little less dumb than the others so I’ll give you one last chance: you are either with me or against me. You don’t have to answear right away I’ll give you the end of class today.”
Ok, first of all, were people supposed to hear that cause’ they were loud and secondly, what the heck school was he enrolled in??
The sausage haired girl walked smugly out of the bathroom.
“Hey Lila.”
“Adrien! We’ll have to figure out when you’re gonna help me catch up on all the schoolwork I missed. I also heard you play piano, my uncle’s a great pianist ‘Stroke Burrow Check’ she wanted to teach me when I was little but I had to stop playing because of arthritis. But when my wrist gets better, I’d love for you to give me some lessons.”
Didn’t sausage hair say uncle? why’d it change to ‘she’?
“Lila, I’m perfectly fine being friends with you and I’ll gladly help you catch up on your schoolwork but…please don’t lie to me like you did last time with Ladybug.”
Ah, his cousin knew she was lying. Wonder why he won’t step up for his classmate… unless it he never changed…
“Ladybugs the liar!”
“I’m not judging you, Lila but instead of making friends, you’re gonna turn everyone against you. You can tell me if there’s something bothering you. I can help. But you need to bee honest with me.”
“Are you trying to be some superhero lecturing me just like Ladybug did. Well, thanks but no thanks. Ugh.”
And with that the door slammed shut.
“I’m still here if you need catching up with your schoolwork.”
…is that a black glowing butterfly?...
…and did someone run out of the bathroom wearing a ladybug onesie?
“Hey!”
Snapping his head to the front he saw sausage girl pushing Adrien back a little.
“Adrien, I wanted to apologize for what just happened I’ve thought about it and you’re right I want us to be friends so I’ll never tell another lie again will you make peace with me?”
Then, she kissed Adrien on the cheek and… morphed into him?! what hellish nightmare place did his mother send him to?!
*insert falling to the floor sound* “Whoops! I lied.” *SLAM* huh. Sucks to be him it must be uncomfortable in there
“If this is an enchanted sleep what could possibly wake him up? Oh no, not an enchanted kiss. Please. Mmm nobody will ever know.”
Raspy low voice…can’t be a student
“Plagg? What happened? And what are you doing?”
“o-oh me? Nothing! I-I uh- Your friend Lila put you to sleep with an evil kiss. You should be more careful picking your friends!”
…it’s coming from the locker Adrien was in… should I go see what’s happening?... Nah not my problem
“Lila must have been re-akumatized! Quick! Plagg! Claws out!”
…The locker just glowed green...and someone in a cat costume just ran out… what the hell does Adrien do in his spare time? I have so many questions… you know what? I’ve seen weirder.
“Of course Ladybug saved my life. She never misses an opportunity to rescue her best friend.”
“Did your tinnitus give you vertigo when you went up the Eiffel Tower?”
“Oh no! Ladybug knows me so well that she brought me an ear plug to stick in my right ear!”
Again with someone named Ladybug…
“Grr.”
Hmm?
“Right ear? did she say right ear? This morning she said the ringing was in her left ear!
She’s not wrong… sausage hair did say the tinnitus was in her left ear this morning…
I’ve got her this time.”
Nice, things are finally getting interesting (oh Felix, if only you knew)
“Are you going to tell everyone?”
“Of course I am. Lila is-
“-A liar. Yes, I know. But do you really think exposing her will make things better?”
Did he just ruin the most interesting part of his day? Bitch. Try again.
“And who’s to say not exposing her will make things better?”
“But if you humiliate her, she’ll just be hurt more making a bad guy suffer has never turned them into a good guy-
“And has letting a so called bad guy do whatever they wanted ever make them a good guy?”
(“Ladybug and I are like two peas in a pod.”)
“Take for example, Bourgeois. Heard she’s the resident school bully. Has she ever changed?”
“She’s better-
“Wasn’t talking to you, Adrien. Has she treated anyone in your class out of the supposed kindness in her heart?”
“Well no but-
“There is no but. It just proves that even if you let the ‘bad guy’ do whatever they want they won’t become a ‘good guy’ also if you keep letting Bourgeois do whatever she wants your going to lose all your friends. I may not have friends but even I know that much. Think about it, how many times has Adrien stood up for you or any of your classmates when Bourgeois were bullying you and your classmates vs the times Adrien has stood up for Bourgeois for bullying you.”
“I-he uh, he stood up for the whole school when Chloe pulled the fire alarm and- uh”
“That’s just one time. Face it, Adrien stands up for bullies far more times than when he stood up for his friends.”
“That’s not true! I apologised-
“You apologised but did you stand up or defend your friends?”
Okay, so half of it might be about my grudge on him but it was true! Surprisingly, Adrien didn’t approach him for the rest of the day.
-The next day-
His seatmate, Marinette, sat down next to him, “Thank you. I never noticed I had always put Adrien up on a pedestal like he could not do any wrong. I never noticed that Adrien had some very questionable flaws.”
“Mm.”
And then she smiled at him.
His heart skipped a beat, the smile was sweet and sincere… and he found that she was rather likable.

Guilt and Consequences Pt2
So yeah, one shots are apparently not possible for me. Here we go again, no idea where this is headed so your guess is as good as mine.
AO3   Beginning   Next
This had to be the most uncomfortable thing Lila had ever experienced. And that included all the times creeps had yelled at or propositioned her at the events her mother insisted on taking her to. Sitting next to Marinette while she explained everything to her parents was torture. Lila did her best to stay silent, but she couldn’t help but break in when Marinette went too easy on people. She absolutely refused to make eye contact though.
“So you managed to turn the entire class on my daughter in an attempt to get expelled?”
“Yes Ma’am.” She was pretty sure the woman wouldn’t want her calling her by her name anymore. Honestly she was surprised she hadn’t been thrown out yet. Marinette was currently in her father’s arms, trying to keep him calm so she was feeling the full brunt of Madam Cheng’s attention. It honestly felt worse than her mother’s constant disappointment but that was probably because she wasn’t used to it from anyone else.
“And at what point did you decide that you needed to target my daughter specifically?” Well that sounded like a trap but it wouldn’t do any good to lie at this point.
“After the napkin incident.” Her tone was dry and Marinette actually giggled. Lila could only shoot her a confused look. Nothing about this was funny.
“Napkin incident?” Madam Cheng just looked confused and Lila sighed. There had been so many lies and issues that Marinette had left a few out. This was going to be interesting.
“I said I sprained my wrist in another attempt to get the teacher to ask for a doctor's note. She didn’t. Marinette threw a balled up napkin at me and I caught it as a reflex. I made sure there was a large gap between me actually using my wrist and pretending to be in pain. Knowing that wouldn’t be enough I made up some ridiculous garbage about seeing someone lose an eye to a napkin. The class ate it up. I still can’t process that kind of stupidity.” The boy was wearing glasses for fuck's sake! What kind of moron wouldn’t question that?
“You’re kidding.” The woman’s tone was flat and Lila could only shake her head. She wished she were making this stuff up. She wished she’d never set foot in that school. She wished for a lot of things that were completely beyond her reach unfortunately. “You were out of school for a period of time weren’t you?”
“Umm… yes.” What did that have to do with anything? She shifted uncomfortably and waited for whatever was next. She hoped there wouldn’t be follow up questions but she knew she wasn’t that lucky.
“Obviously you weren’t traveling, so why were you out of school and why did you go back?” Lila hunched in on herself and tried to keep her emotions in check. When Marinette hadn’t asked about it she’d hoped that meant she wouldn’t have to deal with it. She could feel everyone’s eyes on her and just kept staring at the table. She counted the lines in the wood to try and keep calm for a moment before answering.
“After I was Akumatized my mother pulled me out of school to send me to a therapist so I wouldn’t embarrass her again.” Yet another lecture that had repeated over and over for months. “The first one told her that school was a major problem for me and that it would be beneficial for me to go back to homeschooling and use extracurricular activities to interact with other kids to ease me into it. She didn’t like that, so she fired them and hired another.” Her mother really hated being told she was wrong. “Once that happened is when I started video calling into the class and pretending to be traveling. I put minimal effort into making it look like I was in different locations and thought someone would pick up on it. I didn’t know they hadn’t until I got back.”
“So the second therapist said it was okay for you to go to school?” LIla shook her head. Madam Cheng’s voice was oddly devoid of emotion and that worried her.
“No they said the same as the first. So did the third one. She finally found one to agree with her without actually seeing me.” She still hadn’t seen him actually. There were days she wondered if her mother had made him up, but she was getting prescriptions from somewhere so there had to be someone.
“I’m sorry what?” Lila cringed at the disbelief in her voice. She’d just admitted to lying about pretty much everything, so it only made sense they would question her about something like this.
“It was on Heroes day. She sat me down and said she found a doctor that said my problems had nothing to do with school and with the proper medication I would be fine. I tried to argue with her but it did just as much good as every other time I’ve tried. I was so mad and worried and… I remember locking myself in my room and then the next thing I knew I was in an alley near the Eiffel Tower watching an Akuma fly away from me.” She’d seen the footage later and had actually thrown up. When her mother yelled at her for sneaking out she didn’t correct her. It would have just led to another rant about how she should be able to control herself better. She didn’t need another reason for the woman to be disappointed in her.
“Are you telling me that some random doctor is prescribing you medication solely because your mother told him to?” The repressed fury in those words was enough to make Lila start counting again.
“Yes. I don’t even know who it is.” The words were mumbled but they did actually make it out so she was happy about that. Madam Cheng reached forward and forced her chin up so Lila had to look her in the eyes. She expected anger but what she saw seemed more like pity, or maybe concern. That didn’t seem right.
“I think I need to have a chat with your mother.” Lila just blinked at her in confusion for a moment.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, at least not until you decide what you want to do about the school. She’s not going to care about the effects of what I’ve done, she’ll just try to make it go away.” She’d seen it enough times to know exactly how things would go. Normally it didn’t worry her but given the principal’s current track record, her mother could probably get him to agree to anything. Madam Cheng’s expression softened further. That really didn’t seem right.
“Why don’t you call your mother and ask if it’s alright for you to spend the night here?”
“I’m sorry, what?” If the change of topic wasn’t enough to throw her having Marinette’s mother, who should hate her, suggest she stay under their roof would have done the trick. “She doesn’t like it when I disturb her at work.”
“Won’t she want to know where you are?” She hadn’t even agreed to stay. She was so confused.
“I can text her, but she is too busy to actually talk to me.” Wait, did she just agree to stay? The feeling of being in an alternate reality came up suddenly again. Nothing about this place made sense. Maybe Hawkmoth had something to do with it.
“I’d still like you to try.” Why was she pushing this? Lila looked down at her hands trying to figure out what was happening. Was the woman trying to catch her in a lie? That seemed the most likely. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and fiddled with it for a moment before pulling up the contact for her mother’s office. She definitely wouldn’t answer her personal phone while working. Probably didn’t even have it turned on. She set the phone on the table as she hit call and put it on speaker. It would just make things go faster.
“Ambassador Rossi’s office.” A professional voice answered and Sabine raised an eyebrow at her.
“Hello David, it’s Lila.” Silence. She sighed. “Ambassador Rossi’s daughter.”
“Your mother is very busy young lady. Unless this is an emergency you’ll need to wait.” Yep this was going to go exactly as she thought it would.
“I just have a quick question for her. If she can’t come to the phone perhaps you could relay it to her?” Silence, followed by an annoyed breath.
“One moment.” He put her on hold and she just waited. She knew the others were all looking at her but she kept her head lowered. She didn’t know why but seeing people’s reactions just made everything worse.
“This had better be important.” Her mother’s stern, annoyed voice broke into her thoughts and she had to swallow before she could talk.
“I’m sorry to disturb you but a classmate’s parents invited me to stay over and they want to make sure I have your permission. So can I?” She could practically feel her mother’s annoyance through the phone.
“Lila, I’ve been in back to back meetings all day and you just interrupted a call with a very important government official for something you could have handled yourself. You need to grow up and start taking responsibility for your life. I won’t always be here to hold your hand.” The click as she hung up seemed to echo in the complete silence that followed.

Take Two: The Guardian in Gotham Chapter 14
First   Previous   Next   Ao3
I suck at fight scenes, sorry.
---
“Alright, so the rules of the spar are pretty simple.” Diana stood in front of them, arms crossed. She was flanked by Batman and Superman, who waited as she listed out the details.
“Hits to the face are not off limits, refrain from hair-pulling, no breaking any bones, or causing injuries other than minor bruises.” She paced back and front before them.
“Since you are all heroes, I expect you to fight properly, and not resort to cheap tactics. Are there any questions as to what is allowed and what is not?”
“Uh, yes.” Ladybug raised her hand, fighting the urge to duck her head nervously when Diana’s gaze landed on her.
“Go ahead.”
“Is bantering allowed? Because we actually end up doing that a lot during spars.”
“Bantering is fine. Make sure you tap out when you're done.” She reminded them before standing on the side with the older heroes to watch.
Without further prompting, Ladybug and Chat Noir walked onto the mats. Ryuko, Viperion and Queen Bee stood beside Superman, observing them keenly.
“On my whistle!” Diana called, prompting them to nod in acknowledgement.
Ladybug rolled her shoulders and shifted her weight, sinking into a defensive stance. Across from her, Chat Noir mirrored her stance. He narrowed his eyes in playful anticipation, crouching low to the ground. She lifted her chin slightly in challenge, and he smirked back at her.
“Ready to get your butt whooped, Alley Cat?”
“You can try, Buggy!”
Diana's whistle trilled sharply, and the spar began.
Ladybug immediately crouched and swung her leg in an arc. Before her foot could make contact with his legs, Chat Noir was already jumping. He flipped backwards, landing on his feet. There was a dull smack as he landed two quick hits to her ribs and shoulder. She gritted her teeth and punched him in the solar plexus. He sucked in a startled breath, eyes wide. She pushed her advantage, hitting him twice more on the jaw and torso. On her third blow, he brought his arms up and blocked, the punch landing on his forearms. He lashed out, sending several quick strikes towards her face and stomach. She hastily retreated to avoid them, wincing as her shoulder complained.
“Had enough yet? He teased, inhaling the stench of cleaning supplies as he breathed.
“You're the one panting, not me!” She yelled, launching a kick at his chest.
He ducked and jumped forward, tackling her face-first onto the mats. She gasped, all her breath knocked out of her.
“Is that all you got, Bug?” He sat on top of her, one leg in the middle of her back, the other across her knees, grinning cheekily.
She huffed out a laugh, eyes casting about for a way to get out of the pin.
“Harmless kitten!” She taunted, buying herself time.
“Baby bug!” He called from above her, no doubt wearing a smug smile.
“Scrawny!”
“Tiny!”
“Stalker!” She shot back desperately, trying to get out of his hold.
He inhaled sharply from above her, hands loosening their grip on her arms.
She felt guilt twist in her chest, but ignored it. With a heave, she threw him off and lunged. As he stumbled back, she tackled him, bringing him to the floor with a thud. She quickly pinned him, restraining his arms and pressing him into the ground with her body weight. He didn't even try fighting the hold, simply tapping out the moment she pushed him down.
When she helped him up off his feet, there was no trace of his earlier joy on his face. He looked at her with an unreadable, melancholic expression, before turning away and walking over to the rest of their team. She sighed at his retreating back, feeling guilt twist in her gut, before pushing it away. He would understand, right? She reasoned, It was just a harmless joke to get out of his hold, that’s all. It’s not like I meant it or anything! Right?
Whatever. She ignored the small voice in her head chanting That was wrong. That was wrong. Walking over to stand beside Queen Bee, she noticed that Chat had stood as far away from her as he could get, in between Batman and Ryuko. She resolved to talk to him about it later, choosing instead to watch as Viperion and Ryuko began their spar.
---
“Alright, that’s it for today.” Diana announced as Ladybug and Queen Bee stepped off the mats. “We’ve seen all that we need to see, and I believe it’s near noon in Paris, so we’re at a good stopping point for today.”
“We’ll use the information we gained from today to set up a training schedule and regime for each of you, and next time we meet, we’ll formally begin your training.” Batman informed them as they walked back to the room with the Zeta Tubes.
“Do you know when we’ll be meeting next?” Chat Noir asked. Those were the first words he’d spoken since their spar.
“Most probably in a few weeks, we’ll need to find a time that works for everyone.” Superman explained, holding open the door to the entrance hall for them to walk through.
“Thanks.”
“Thank you.”
“No problem.”
“That makes sense.” Viperion agreed, standing beside Ladybug as she prepared the portal.
“Would you like for us to give you times when we are free?” Ryuko asked over Ladybug’s call of “Voyage!”
“That would be helpful.” Diana said, waving as one by one they stepped through the portal.
“See you soon, then!” Queen Bee called before it shut behind them in a flash of electric blue.
They stood there silently, the five of them, on the Eiffel Tower for a long moment before it was simultaneously broken by their laughter. Even Chat Noir cracked a small smile.
“Oh my gosh, that was totally nerve wracking!” Queen Bee exclaimed, still laughing.
“Right?!” VIperion agreed. “They’re all so intimidating! I felt like they could see all my past sins!”
“What sins?” Ryuko joked, nudging him playfully.
“Guys!” Queen Bee exclaimed, “It’s noon! Let's get lunch!”
“Sure!” Chat Noir agreed from where he leant against one a support girder. “But, ah, you three go on ahead. I need to talk to Ladybug for a sec.”
“Alright! See you in ten?” Viperion checked.
“See you in ten.” He confirmed.
As soon as they’d left, he slumped against the beam, head turned away from her.
“Let’s talk on the roof.” Ladybug suggested, pointing to Chloé’s hotel.
He followed her without complaint, landing on the roof and detransforming.
He turned away as she dropped her transformation, looking out at the skyline instead.
“Adrien?” She asked, tilting her head curiously. “Is something wrong?”
“Yes!” He snapped, turning around to glare at her. “Something is wrong!”
“Well what is it then?” She crossed her arms, annoyance seeping into her tone at his harshness. “I don't have time to deal with your little temper tantrums!”
“That!” He yelled, gesticulating wildly. “That is the problem! You keep acting like I'm just a stupid sidekick-fanboy hybrid that's obsessed with you! We're partners! Or at least, we're supposed to be! But it's hard for me to feel like your equal when you say things like you did back there! You called me a stalker-”
“Well you are!” Marinette interrupted, anger rising. She waved her arm in the air.  “You have your little...Ladybug shrine or whatever all up in your room-yes, I've seen it!-and you’ve literally sat out on a battle because you were mad that I didn't love you back!”
He threw his hand up in the air, annoyance written on every line of his body. “That was in the past! Newsflash, it isn't all about you! I stopped harassing you to go on dates, and I don't have a shrine for you anymore! I'm aromantic demisexual, and I. Do. Not. Love. You! Not like that, at least!”
He jabbed his finger at her accusingly. “And stop acting like you're a saint as well! You literally spent your free time stalking me around the whole city of Paris and concocting insane plans to go on a date with me!”
She took a step back in shock, her feelings jumbling together into a roiling knot of shame and anger at his rage-filled accusations.
“You had a literal pull down chart of my entire schedule in your room and an entire wall covered in my pictures!” He ranted. “Do you know how creepy that is?! Do you know how unsafe that made me feel?! Knowing that one of my closest friends was obsessed with me? It literally rattled my world! I apologized for what I did to you, all the harassment and ignoring your situation, but you-you just shoved your mistakes under the rug like they never happened! Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, you always try to rationalize a lot of the mistakes you make! There’s always some explanation or the other. And that's just so...argh!”
He paced around the room, pulling at his hair in anger and frustration.
“Not to mention, you think your life is hard?! At least your parents loved you! The only person that loved me was my mother, and she fucking died okay? My dad was an emotionally repressed asshole, who knew nothing about showing affection in an understandable way, and he fucked me up! Badly! Like, I’m literally touch deprived. He consciously knew that being alone all the time while dealing with grief can fuck a child up. And he still left me alone! After my mom died, I can count on one hand the number of hugs I’ve gotten in that household. One hand!” He shouted, eyes wild, chest heaving.
She felt herself getting defensive, her anger rising like a tidal wave. “Oh yeah?! Boo-hoo the poor rich baby didn't get some hugs from Daddy. Get over yourself! My friends, who I've known since we were like, five, voluntarily beat me up! Several times! You couldn't possibly know how that feels!”
“You're right I couldn't!” He yelled, face screwed up in anger. “I couldn't because I've never been to school! My entire life is planned and thought out! I have no say in anything, I have literally zero independence! My whole life is in my Father and Nathalie’s hands! So no, I don't know how that feels!”
“And you know what Adrien?!” She shouted back, not bothering to control her voice.
“My life is pretty hard! I'm dealing with bullying at school, homework, commissions, patrols almost every night, as well as trying to keep my identity secret from my parents, because they like to check up on me!”
“Oh yeah?! Well, guess what?! Your leaving made Lila that much more comfortable with hanging off me! She constantly grabs me, pulls me around, she’s kissed me without my consent! You left, and she didn’t have to restrain herself anymore! And god forbid I tell anybody, because we all know they’re under her spell! And my father?! Hah!” He laughed, but there was no humor behind it.
“He’d just tell me to suck it up! Also, have you forgotten that I take almost all the hits for you?! Because I haven't! I take all of them! All of them!” He whirled around, glaring at her.
“I've died so many times! For you! And I remember exactly what it feels like, because I don't have the luxury of a mind wipe from your magical healing cure! So don't come here saying I don't know what it feels like to be bullied, unless you want me throwing this back in your face too!”
She inhaled sharply, ignoring the pain in her chest from his words. Pinching the bridge of her nose, she pulled out Kaalki’s glasses and prepared to portal back to Gotham. “You know what?! I can't deal with this right now. I'm leaving.”
“Stop running from your problems!” He shouted from behind her, the rest of his words cut off as she shut the portal behind her and collapsed on her bed.

Style Queen, Queen Wasp, and Malediktator would go down in the Amazon and Jynx Sphinx AU Edition
Here is my take on how the events of Style Queen, Queen Wasp, and Malediktator in the a au where Nora and Jalil were given the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous, also known as the Amazon and Jynx Sphinx AU.
Style Queen
Nora and Jalil initially don't go to the fashion show, but when they find out about Style Queen’s attack via a notification the Ladyblog, they immediately drop what they’re doing, transform, and get to the fashion show to battle Style Queen. When they get there, they battle Style Queen who gives them a hard time, like in canon. They then follow her to the Eiffel Tower, where Chloe tele them where the akuma is hiding. Realizing that Style Queen is tougher than the average akuma. Amazon summons her lucky charm, and like in canon, she realizes that the lucky charm is telling her to go to Fu’s. So while Nora goes to Fu’s to get another miraculous, Jynx Sphinx stays at the Eiffel Tower, where he manages to save Chloe from being turned into a gold statue by Style Queen, who is pissed at Chloe for selling her out to the heroes. Meanwhile, Amazon gets the Bee Miraculous, but her first few choices for the Bee are unavailable. She then sees Alya trying to get footage of the battle between Jynx Sphinx and Style Queen. Amazon pulls her out of the way and contemplates to giving her the bee miraculous but is reluctant as she doesn't like the idea of Alya fighting a supervillain, let alone one as dangerous Style Queen. Style Queen sees them shoots a beam at Amazon, but Alya uses herself as human shield, getting turned into a statue, much to Amazon’s horror. After a few minutes of trying to beat up Style Queen while Jynx Sphinx helps Chloe hide, Amazon meets up with Jynx Sphinx and Chloe. Amazon summons a new lucky charm, and she and Jynx Sphinx come up with a plan to defeat Style Queen that involves both the lucky charm and the powers of the bee miraculous. Chloe then volunteers to wield the Bee Miraculous. Amazon and Jynx Sphinx are reluctant to do so for a couple fo reasons, but realize they don’t have much of choice (plus Style Queen is already trying to turn Chloe into a statue for betraying her earlier, so at least by giving Chloe a miraculous, then she can defend herself). Amazon gives Chloe the Bee Miraculous, and Chloe becomes Queen Bee. They then come out of the hiding place and claim that Queen Bee hid Chloe somewhere else. The three heroes then fight Style Queen and eventually defeat her. Amazon then has the ladybugs fix everything and everyone who was turned into a statue is revived. Jynx Sphinx takes Adrien back to the fashion show while Amazon stays at the Eiffel Tower. Amazon and Queen Bee find somewhere to hide while Chloe gives her back the Miraculous. Amazon and Chloe then meet back up with Alya (whom Amazon hugs) and Audrey, and Amazon then takes Chloe, Alya, and Audrey back to the Fashion Show.
Queen Wasp/Malediktator
Like in canon, Gabriel decides to give up on his Hawk Moth antics, goes to the fashion show, and hugs Adrien. Amazon then arrives at the Fashion show with Chloe, Alya, and Audrey. Gabriel then thanks Amazon for saving Adrien. Like in canon, Audrey is impressed by Marinette’s hat and offers to take her back to New York. When Audrey gets Chloe’s name wrong again and tells her that the only thing exceptional about her is her mother (like she did in canon), Chloe does not expose her secret identity, partly because she doesn't have the bee miraculous on her at the moment in this AU, but also because Amazon intervenes and chews Audrey out because while Amazon doesn't like Chloe, she’s starting to see that Audrey’s bitchiness is probably part of the reason Chloe’s the way she is. Marinette then turns down Audrey’s offer.
Later at the hotel, while they lunch with the Agrestes (for plot reasons) Audrey demands that Andre expel Amazon and Marinette from the city. Andre understandably refuses. Audrey then threatens to force Chloe to come back to New York with her and mold her her into something exceptional if Andre does not give into Audrey’s demand. Chloe is horrified that her mother is using her as a bargaining chip, and Gabriel decides to become Hawk Moth again because he thinks it’s unfair that Emilie is in a coma while people like Audrey are conscious. So he goes somewhere private (like a coat closet) puts the Butterfly Miraculous back on, becomes Hawk Moth once more, senses Chloe’s distress, and sends an akuma after her. However, Andre sees the akuma going after Chloe and while he’s trying to protect her from it, the akuma lands in his sash. Hawk Moth then uses Andre’s fear of losing Chloe to turn him into Malediktator. Nora and Jalil find out, transform, and track down Maledikator. During the fight, Maledikatator turns the police and a bunch of other people into his minions, leaving the heroes vastly outnumbered, and he uses the “you’re a cat” command on Jynx Sphinx like he did with Chat Noir like he did in canon. Amazon then grabs the Bee miraculous and recruits Chloe again. The way they defeat Malediktator is basically same as to how he was defeated in canon (complete with using a laser pointer to have cat! Jynx Sphinx take down the guards, cause that is hilarious, though Amazon might consider using the while gun but relent when she realizes that she might accidentally hit Jynx Sphinx, which then gives her the idea to just use the laser pointer). After deakuamatizing Andre, Amazon (who has been informed by Chloe about the ultimatum Audrey gave to Andre) spells it out to Audrey that if word got out that Audrey tried to get Amazon exiled, that would be a PR nightmare for Audrey. So Audrey, obsessed with image, cuts her losses, and heads back to New York without Chloe. However, before Audrey leaves, Chloe chews her out for trying to use her as bargaining chip and tells her “I cannot believe I ever tried to emulate you!”

On that note, this book will contain swearing, mentions of rape and torture. I will try not be explicit but that's really relative. Read at your own risk. There will be warning before if I make a explicit scene so that you can skip it.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy and don't hunt me down for this.

"Colin this is Marinette, my sister, Marinette this is Colin." Damian introduced the redhead who seemed a bit bewildered but he recovered quickly.
"Pleased to meet you ma'am. I didn't know that Damian had another sibling."
"Well neither did he before yesterday." Marinette laughed good-naturedly. "So you're his best friend."
"Yep!" Damian didn't refute the statement.
"So Miss Marinette where are you from?"
"Just Marinette is fine Colin."
"Bu-"
"Miss makes me feel old, you don't want that now, do you?" The boy looked scandalised. "I'm only about two years older than Damian anyways so if you want to call me by a nickname, that's fine too."
The boy grinned shyly. "Okay Marinette."
Damian looked distinctly surprised. "Well done, he still calls the others Mr, they are going to be annoyed by this development."
"Oh Damian." Marinette turned on her heels and winked at them, eyes full of mischief. "This is nothing. I got Alfred to  call me by just my first name?"
Now, both boys looked very impressed but still disbelieving. "I'll believe it when I see it." The redhead claimed. Marinette laughed but said nothing more on the matter.
"So where are you bringing me?"
"The Gotham's Botanical Garden. I think you'll enjoy it. However, I must warn you to stay clear of anything that may anger Poison Ivy. "
She took it in stride. "Of course, I'll ask before I do anything."
"It'll be so fun. People don't talk about it because of Ivy but the gardens are so beautiful." Colin started ranting and Marinette hid a smile at the fond expression on her little brother's face. If one didn't know what to be looking for, they would miss it but Marinette had become very very attuned to emotions, especially after she gained the Miraculous and became Guardian.
"-attract so many different kinds of butterflies."
"Huh." Marinette mused. "It'll be nice seeing some actual butterflies and not akumas for once."
"You mentioned akumas before too." Damian interrupted. "What are they?"
She seemed a little surprised. "Do you - do you really have no idea of what's going on in Paris?"
Both of the boys shook their head. Even Colin looked curious now.
"It's pretty surreal but, when I was twelve, this guy surfaced. He calls himself Hawkmoth. He sends out these magic butterflies called akumas to anyone who's experiencing any negative emotion to possess them. He makes a deal with the victims to give them powers for them to be able to take revenge upon whatever wrong happened to them and return he asks for the Miraculous of Ladybug and Chat Noir."
"Who?" Colin interrupted and Marinette blinked. She had sounded so...old, so burdened as she spoke - so different from the bubbly macaroon making girl that Damian had learnt to know.
"Right, context. After his first akuma, two heroes surfaced in Paris too. They're powered by the Miraculous too. Hawkmoth wants Ladybug's earrings and Chat Noir's ring. No one knows why exactly and well we're not interested to find out. More power in that madman's hands can only cause harm."
"You mean to say." Damian's voice was flat. "That there has been a sociopathic terrorist in Paris for five years and no one knows of it. Why didn't the mayor call for the Justice League?"
Marinette's face darkened. It almost made both if the boys shudder and take a step back.
"Oh but we did. More than once, more than ten times in fact. We only stopped whenthe Leaguers asked us to stop wasting their time with pranks."
"What?" Damian exploded. "They just disregarded all the damage that must have been caused, all the phone calls. They didn't even look into it."
Marinette placed a hand in his shoulder, urging her aura to seek his and calm him down. "The thing is one of Ladybug's powers is the Miraculous Cure. It fixes all the damage caused in the midst of battle."
"All the damage?" Even Damian didn't seem to believe it at that point.
"I know it seems too good to be true." She fished out her phone and tried to look for a video. "And we understood that but everyone in Paris is pissed that they didn't even bother come verify our so called claims. I mean for God's sake, they have aliens, shapeshifters, magicians and even guys who are themselves powered by magical jewelry if I'm not wrong."
Marinette huffed as she found a video. It was one of the first ones from the Ladyblog, when Alya was still a reliable reporter. She played the video. It was of The Mime and it showed how he cut the Eiffel Tower in two as well as the Miraculous Cure taking effect.
The boys especially Damian seemed horrified and Marinette felt a little of guilt for subjecting them to that.
But then Damian looked up at her and his lazarus green eyes of reminded her that he probably had seen worse.
"That's…" He didn't seemed to know what to say.
"Terrifying." Colin said. "Are they all really that strong?" Marinette winced, debating whether to tell them the truth of not.
Damian seemed to sense that. "You can tell us." He prompted and she sighed, reaching out to ruffle his hair.
"That's actually one of the tamer villians." She admitted. "The Mime appeared during the first year of Hawkmoth's reign of terror. One of the worst akumas back then that come to mind is Syren. She flooded the entirety of Paris, about three quarter of the population died and were brought back by the cure." She took another look at them and decided that she wasn't going to be the cause of their further trauma.
"Hey, this is it, right?" She promptly changed the subject, knowing very well that she hadn't been subtle at all. "Gotham Botanical Gardens." She beamed down at them.
"Wow, it's beautiful." She took a moment to appreciate the sight. "Hey you're right, there's a lot of butterflies. Can we go there first?" She was basically bouncing as she turned to look at her brother and his best friend.
Colin looked gleeful while Damian seemed just amused. "You act like a child." Her brother informed her. She stuck out her tongue at him. "And you speak like an old man but you don't see me complaining."
"Fair enough." He chuckled. "What are you waiting for? Let's go then."
He couldn't help the full-blown smile appearing on his face as both his sister and his best friend literally ran to the butterflies and started gushing together.
He started to make his way to them when someone appeared in front of him blocking his view. His usual scowl and glare were back on his face when he looked up. The boy seemed to recoil slightly at his look but it didn't deter him more that that.
"I don't know who you are." His tone clearly gave away that he felt like he was the one in power here. Damian cursed the time when he used to act like that. He had learnt that lesson the hard way - had learnt not to underestimate an enemy. "But you're gonna stay away from my princess. She doesn't need children like you around."
Damian took a second to analyze him. Blond Hair. Green eyes. He remembered  reading those as Marinette's triggers during his research. He had to clench his fists to stop himself from reaching out to his weapons.
"She can decide that for himself." He said instead and went to walk around him but the boy grabbed his shoulder.
The next thing he knew he was standing behind his sister. "Adrien." She cut in smoothly. "I didn't expect to see you here, especially not without your bodyguard." Damian could see that she was tense, her back muscles were coiled as if she was ready for a fight.
"Princess." He was beaming. "I snuck out." He said almost proudly. "We need to talk."
"Gotham isn't Paris." Her words seemed more like a warning rather than the facts they were which the blond idiot obviously didn't catch on. "And I want nothing to do with you, haven't for  three years. I owe you nothing. Give up."
That was a clear dismissal if Damian knew one. "Princess you need to listen to me-" He reached out to grab her hand but was cut off.
The younger boy had seen her lurking but she hadn't seemed a threat so he didn't know whether he was thankful or not that she had jumped in.
Ivy spoke "The girl asked you to go away." Thankful, he finally decided.
The boy looked a little nervous - so he did have some braincells. "Ma'am, respectfully, this does not concern you." Well not enough it seemed.
"Oh well, respectfully." Her plants towered behind them. "I don't give a damn. Stay away from them."
The plants grabbed him and threw him just outside the park boundaries. It seemed a little tame for the likes of Ivy but then again she always did go softer for children even if they were brats.
Damian watched as the boy scrambled back to his feet and glared in their direction before he stomped off.
"Damian." His sister was clearly fretting over him, he would never admit it but it felt good, he felt loved. "Are you alright? He didn't hurt you, did he?"
"I'm alright, I'm alright. I told you, I can take care of myself."
She smiled, soft and relieved. "I don't doubt it but promise me if you see either him or Lila from yesterday, you need go the other way."
"Why?" He frowned. He had a doubt on blondie but what about that Lila girl?
"And by Lila, do you mean the sausage haired girl?"
His sister cracked a grin at that thought she was still serious. "Yeah her."
"Why?" He repeated and she became grim at once. "Because he's sick in the head and she's a psychopath so please, promise me." She met his eyes and really, faced to that did Damian have any other choice but to accept?
She beamed at him as Colin approached them. "That was so cool. Are you okay Dames?" He turned to talk to his best friend and gave him a once over before nodding.
"Thank you for stepping in." He heard his sister and turned around. Ivy may be one of the villains-turned-anti-hero but it didn't mean that people didn't need to be wary around her. What was Marinette thinking?
"Boys like him need to be taught a lesson before it's too late." Damian's mind immediately went to Harley's and Joker's relationship.
"I don't think a lesson would do him any kind of good at this point but thank you."
It was very apparent that her words made Ivy re-evaluate her.
The woman gave a nod. "Don't mention it." She said nothing else but didn't move away.
Marinette smiled. "By the way, I love that flower in your hair. That's a lily right?"
"Yes." She said slowly but the spark in her eye showed that she was now interested. "You know flowers?"
"I have a garden of my own." Marinette revealed. "I tried growing some lilies but they're no where as beautiful as this one." Marinette fished for her phone again and started showing her images. The older woman didn't say anything but Damian could see that she was interested and she seemed almost pleased.
Deeming it safe for now, he slowly turned to Colin who was staring at the scene with amazement.
"Colin." His friend turned to him wide-eyed, "Your sister is amazing."
He couldn't help but feel smug at the words. "Obviously." He said but then lowered his voice. "Tell me, how did she get to me so fast when she was watching butterflies with you."
Colin sobered up at that. "She was talking to me when suddenly she just snapped her head up to look at you. I think that's when the boy came. She told me to stay there and started walking towards you. The thing is when the guy touched you, she was about half-way there, I didn't register but the next thing I knew she was standing between you and the blond." He shook his head. "There's something about her…it's not necessarily bad but she's just...different…special."
"I know what you mean." Damian agreed.
~
"-and then she spoke with Poison Ivy for one hour straight about plants and gardening. Ivy even gave us a personal tour of the botanical gardens."
"Seriously? She usually takes forever to warm up to someone especially if the other sirens aren't with her."
"Marinette seems to be the exception." The youngest Wayne said as he but into another macaroon. Once again, he had been ambushed on his return home - this time however, it was only his brothers and that had demanded he tell them all about her.
His felt his phone vibrate and knew it was the message he was awaiting. "She's busy during the day." He informed his brothers. "But she invited us for dinner."
His brothers looked at each other and grinned. Tommorow looked promising.

Love Thy Neighbor - 1
Tumblr media
Set post-Endgame: Bucky’s got a crush on the girl next door.
PAIRING: Bucky x Native American!Reader WARNINGS: slow burn, minor anxieties, eventual smut

Tumblr media
“Hey, we got a mission.”
Bucky jerks awake, shoving his hair out of his face. His eyes are heavy with sleep, and the sun’s shining heavy through the thin curtains. Alpine, disturbed by her master’s movements, shoots Sam a glare and curls back up on her pillow, tail curling around her feet.
“What time is it?” Bucky asks blearily.
“Almost nine, you missed your run.” Sam snaps his fingers. “C’mon. Fury wants us to report in ten.”
Bucky grumbles, fighting the urge to burrow back beneath his comforter and fall back asleep. He’d had a hard time falling asleep, eventually drifting off after downing several extra-strong tablets of melatonin that are still trying to work their magic.
He stumbles out of bed, reaching down to graze his metal palm over Alpine’s sleek white fur. The cat purrs lowly and rubs her head against his fingers, and then resumes her nap. In the bathroom, he runs his toothbrush through his mouth with closed eyes and splashes cold water on his face. He doesn’t bother putting on street clothes; he’ll only have to change when they leave the house and his sweats are more comfortable than they need to be.
They get assigned to Paris. A black-market arms dealer is set to sell a truckload of guns and ammunition to a suspected terrorist cell, and with less than two days on the clock until the deal is set to go down, they have to hurry. Luckily, Bucky keeps an emergency go-bag under his bed, and he’s just stepped into his boots when he spies Alpine still snoozing.
Someone needs to keep an eye on her.
“I gotta find someone to watch Alpine,” he says while Sam’s lacing his sneakers in the living room.
“What?” Sam cranes his neck to look up into Bucky’s anxious face. “C’mon, man, she’s a cat. She’ll be fine for a couple days.”
“What if it’s longer than a couple days?” Bucky swallows. “Someone needs to put her food out and change her water.”
“We’ll be back by Thursday.” Sam stands, arms folding across his chest. He only holds firm for a few seconds, until Bucky’s eyes go wide. “Okay…” he gives in, “ask Y/N. Since you didn’t see her this morning, might as well make up for it.”
Bucky’s cheeks go red. He looks down at the floor as Sam passes him on his way to the hallway closet. “I didn’t… she doesn’t—”
“Dude, stop pretending you don’t have one of the biggest crushes of all time, it’s painful.”
Bucky’s gut twists as he pulls his spare key to the apartment from the front pocket of his duffel bag. “I just… she’s nice, that’s all. Not a lotta people look at the guy who used to be the Winter Soldier and think good things, y’know.”
“You got exonerated in a court of law, nobody in their right mind thinks you’re guilty of anything.” Sam heads into the kitchen to grab a protein shake for the jet ride. “Especially Y/N.”
“I know.” Bucky sighs. “I’ll… I’ll be right back, I’ll see if she’s home.”
He drops his bag on the couch and heads out the door. It’s a brisk morning, and he zips his jacket up, tucking his hands in his pockets as he walks to the next door down. His heart is pounding in his chest, because he knows you have a security camera and he doesn’t wanna look like a creep knocking on your door when you’re not home.
Within seconds, however, your door swings open. You’re wearing a baggy AC/DC tee shirt and a pair of leggings… the ends of your hair are wet. You must have just showered.
“Hi, Bucky,” you chirp, flashing him a brilliant smile that makes his knees weak. “I missed you in the park this morning.”
He swallows the sudden dryness in his throat. “Overslept,” he excuses. “Look, I… I hate to put this on you, but my friend and I got called out for a job and we… or I need someone to…”
God it sounds stupid. So, so stupid… he’s a grown man with a cat, what the hell is he doing?
You lean against the doorjamb. “What is it?”
“I was wondering if you could watch Alpine for a few days,” he blurts out. “If you don’t mind, that is.”
“I can do that.” You smile again, and Bucky’s stomach untwists. “When will you be back?”
“Thursday…” Bucky tries as best he can to muster a confident smile as he holds the key out in his flesh palm. “She just takes dry food, her bag is under the kitchen sink.” Bucky’s breath hitches when your fingers graze his skin. “So… I’ll leave a list, I guess…”
“Or you could text me?” You tug your phone from the pocket in your leggings. “What’s your number?”
He can barely speak. He’s been dying to ask for your number for weeks now and here you are just brazenly offering it up. He takes a solid three seconds to remember the digits, and he rattles them off, watching as you type his name into the little section and add one of those little emoticon things… the sun.
“I just sent you something,” you smile, “so you got mine too.”
Bucky almost pukes. “Okay,” he stutters out, “she’s got food and stuff for now, but just later today…”
“Got it.” You slip your phone back into your pocket. “I gotta get ready for work, but I’m off at six. I’ll pop by and feed her.”
“Thanks.” He swallows thickly. “Really, thank you, it means a lot.”
“It’s no problem.” You swipe your tongue over your lower lip. “Have a safe mission, okay?”
He bows his head, trying as hard as he can to stop from blushing. “I will. Thanks again.”
You close the door, and he turns on his heel, hiding a grin in his coat collar as he heads back to his own apartment.
***
The mission goes easier than either of them thought it would. They’re in and out of Paris in less than forty hours, and they take the opportunity of their “undercover-ness” to scout out a few local shops in search of something good to eat and a few souvenirs for their efforts.
Bucky doesn’t shop for himself beyond food. He has no need for little trinkets. Sam can browse all he wants, but Bucky tries to think of something that you might like. One shop has it all: a ton of Eiffel Tower ornaments, candies, T-shirts… at one point he catches himself sniffing tentatively at a lavender-scented soap bar.
No, no way. Way too personal.
In the end, he settles for a little snowglobe. It’s small enough to fit in his bag, and he makes his purchase while Sam’s still trying on sweatshirts.
They get in late on Thursday night, just as Sam predicted. Bucky sends you a text when they land at the airport, and the Avengers’ private car has them back at the complex in no time at all. The light is on in your apartment when Bucky gets to the fourth floor, and as soon as Sam’s vanished into their apartment, he knocks on your door. It only takes a few seconds to answer, and Bucky’s heart catches in his throat when you open the door, beaming up into his face.
“You’re back early,” you say, smiling widely.
“Yeah, uh… mission went quicker than we thought.” Bucky swallows heavily.
“I just filled Alpine’s bowl an hour ago and cleaned out her litter box,” you reply, almost completely unfazed by his awkwardness, “and I bought her a little catnip plant from work, I hope you don’t mind.”
“Oh, you, uh... “ he clears his throat, “you didn’t have to do that, the litter box, I mean, I—”
“It’s no bother, my mom was a veterinarian, I’ve dealt with way worse.” You fumble for something on the little table behind your left knee and hold up the little bronze key. “You might need this back.”
“Thanks.” Bucky pockets it without really thinking—the touch of your hand on his matters more. “Oh, I got something for you,” he blurts out, unzipping the top pocket of his bag and fishes out the little snowglobe. “Just as… well, a thanks.”
You accept the little trinket, blushing furiously. “I love it,” you reply, “thank you.”
God, Bucky wants to kiss you so bad…
“D’you wanna get coffee?” he asks suddenly. “Or see a movie? That is, if you don’t y’know, have someone already, I don’t wanna intrude.”
If possible, your face flushes even more. “I-I’d like that,” you stammer, “a movie sounds good. Um… when are you free?”
“Saturday?” Bucky shrugs. “The place downtown has cheap tickets on Saturdays.”
You nod. “I… I can do that. I get off work at six again.”
Bucky chews on his lower lip. “I’ll come by for eight?”
“That works.” You smile awkwardly. “I, uh… I should probably let you go get some rest, huh?”
“Yeah.” Bucky takes a step back because if he doesn’t make some space he might just kiss you right then and there. “I can text you, yeah?”
“Totally, yeah.” You run your fingers through your hair and match him, stepping back into the little entryway. “I’ll, uh, I’ll see you Saturday, then?”
Bucky nods. “Yeah.”
You close the door, still blushing furiously, and Bucky walks into his apartment thinking of a million ways that could have gone wrong.
“I bet you were smoother than that in 43.”
Sam’s standing in the kitchen, smirking as Bucky drops his bag by the door and kicks his boots off.
“Shut up, I’m outta practice.” He shrugs his jacket off and hangs it on the rack. “Did you really hear all that?”
“We’re neighbors, I can hear everything.” Sam grins and pulls fixings for a turkey sandwich from the fridge. “Look, man, you’re trying to fit in. It’s a good thing.”
“I know.” Bucky sighs. “I didn’t even know if she was gonna say yes.”
“Well, she did.” Sam slaps the top layer of bread onto his sandwich and gestures to the plate. “Want one?”
Bucky shakes his head. “If I eat, I’m gonna puke. I’m just gonna go to bed.”
Sam watches him shuffle silently down the hallway and into his room. Alpine’s snoozing on her bed by the window, and she leaps off when Bucky closes the door, eagerly wristing around his ankles and purring happily.
“Hey, girl.” Bucky reaches down to rub his knuckles against the top of her head before changing into a pair of flannel pants. He’s exhausted and stressed, and his chest feels tighter than it should. Sitting on the edge of his bed, he rests his head in his palms, taking long, deep breaths to try and ease the tension. Sensing her master’s distress, Alpine rubs herself against his side, and Bucky only breaks his position to give her a habitual pet across the back before slipping into his bathroom and downing five tablets of melatonin. His system will kick it in within a few minutes, and he slips beneath the covers as Alpine curls up on her designated pillow.
“Everything’s gonna go smooth, right?” he asks. “I can do this. It’s just a girl, nothing to be scared of.”

Some People are Cats
Okay, here we go. This should wrap up everything from the last few chapters and let the characters settle into some sense of normality. This is literally mostly Charlie talking to Rin, and then to Shayne, so there’s no real emeto or hurt, but it’s cute (I think).
Also, from now on, I’ll probably write mostly in third person rather than first.
Enjoy! And please send prompts/requests.
Triggers: Mention of manhandling, mention of nightmares, mention of medication.
Swallow the World, Chapter Seven
Charlie
“I’ve been watching you, Charles.”
I gulped and turned my head to see Rin sitting next to me, backpack in her lap. I glanced back over the seats quickly, dread pooling in my chest. Whenever someone with as many friends as Rin tried to talk to me, I instantly believed I was about to fall victim to a prank. It didn’t matter that she’d been nice to me the other day; I’d been too nauseous and dizzy to worry too much about anything outside of my bubble.
“I’m sorry?”
“I’ve seen what you’ve been doing with your keys in your lap,” she said. “Pencils on your desk. So, what – could you make this bus fly right now, if you wanted to?”
I clutched my keys to my palm, heart in my throat. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, right, of course. Ignore me. I’m talking crazy.” Her eyes were sparkly and wide as she turned in her seat, cornering me even more against the bus window. She nodded to my keys, leaning her head in even further. “Show me.”
I glanced over the seats again to check that nobody was watching before I opened my hand. The keyring held only my front door key and a keyring with an Eiffel Tower keyring on it. The Tower was currently lying on its side, and I focused on making the tip of it rise upwards, so that it was standing upright in my palm.
“That’s amazing,” Rin whispered. “Did you always have telekinesis?”
“I don’t think so.” I let the Eiffel Tower fall back down. “I did it for the first time the – the other night. I unlocked a door.”
“The Mulberry house has all kinds of weird energy,” Rin said, shaking her head. “Maybe it’s like the demonic version of a nuclear reactor.”
I felt a little sick, picturing extra limbs growing on my very soul from being inside that house for too long.
Rin’s eyes lit up again. “You know who might know?”
“Shayne?” I asked weakly, glancing towards the window. We were almost at his stop, where he hadn’t gotten on in days. Not since I’d seen him pulled through my bedroom window by what had looked like a giant bat. I’d seen it a hundred more times in my sleep. Mum and Dad had accepted that I’d broken my window and puked during a night terror, which worked out for me, since I could just reply “I don’t know, I was asleep for it” whenever they asked tricky questions.
There was talk of putting me back on medication, but so far they were only easing me into the idea.
“No, no, not Shayne,” Rin said. “Charlie Two.”
“Charlie… Two?” I asked.
“Yeah,” she nodded. “I mean, I thought of us calling you Human Charlie and Demon Charlie, but that seemed a bit reductive. But don’t you think he – she? They? – might know something that you, Charlie One, don’t know?”
“I suppose it’s possible,” I said slowly. “But how would that even work? I can never tell which half of me is… which. So how could we isolate and ask Charlie Two anything?”
Rin sat up a little higher in her seat, like this was the moment she’d been building up to since sitting next to me.
“Two words, my friend,” she grinned. “Ouija board.”
I frowned. “What?”
“I mean, we won’t stop there,” Rin said. “Let’s try all the crazy things we can get our hands on. Only if you’re comfortable with it, Charlie.”
“I don’t -”
“Now, I’m already working on tracking down a Ouija board, so don’t worry about that. In the meantime, you should think of what you want to ask.”
She smiled and slumped back in her seat, looking a little dreamy.
“‘Who were you before you were me?’” she said, counting out her fingers. “‘How do demons reproduce?’ (That one’s for me. I’m super curious.) ‘If you could have dinner with any celebrity, living or dead –‘”
Rin’s voice began to fade away into the back of my head as we grew closer to Shayne’s bus stop. My stomach flipped over in anticipation of seeing him, or… not seeing him. I had no idea what I was going to do if he was still missing after today. I’d have to go to his house and try to check on him, and the thought of that – after seeing what one of his foster parents was capable of – made my belly go limp and wobbly.
“Shayne,” I whispered as the bus began to slow. I almost stood up in my seat before remembering where I was. Instead, I tried to wave and get his attention as soon as he’d stepped aboard. “Shayne, are you –?”
He shot me a death glare that also gave me that weak, jelly-like feeling in my tummy. I sank a little lower in my seat and let him walk past, too scared to even look back over the seats to where he’d gone.
“Some people are cats,” Rin whispered to me.
“What?” I squeaked.
“In that you have to let them come to you.”
“You’ve known Shayne since you were kids, right?” I asked. “Has that ever worked with him?”
She chewed her lip and twisted the dark metal rings on her fingers as she thought. “No. Now I think about it, it’s a bad metaphor. Cats probably won’t come to you unless you offer them food.”
I sighed and fought back tears as I curled my arm against the window, tucking my head into my elbow.
“Then again, Shayne eats demons half the time, and trash the other half,” Rin said, a smirk creeping across her face. She leaned over to mess up my hair, and my face reddened despite everything else. “Between you and Charlie Two, you should be the perfect bait for him.”
Shayne
“Hey! Shayne, just wait one second.”
I kept walking as I got off the bus down the street from school. Anxiety and humiliation crawled all over my skin. I felt vaguely like I’d heard that voice in my sleep, in a dream, and that I’d felt happy. I had the feeling I’d called back in the dream, and that I’d even muttered the name aloud as I’d woken up.
“Shayne!”
Charlie.
I was forced to stop as he grabbed onto my arm. I held my breath and decided very hard not to hit him. He pulled me towards a low garden wall so that other students could get past us, and I had to decide one more time that I wasn’t going to hit him.
“Something wrong?” I asked, hoping my voice sounded okay. I hadn’t used it in days.
His eyes widened and he gestured vaguely back towards the bus. “You – you didn’t think to say anything to me?”
I shrugged. I couldn’t look him in the eye for longer than a second. I focused on the zip of his dark green windbreaker, which was pulled to halfway down his chest. Maybe it was halfway up, but who could tell?
“The last time I saw you, you were – god, I don’t know what happened. Did someone – did something really drag you out the window?”
Guilt swirled in my chest as I remembered the sound of fabric ripping as Watson’s claws had hauled me out of the room and into the night.
“Do you want me to pay for the window?”
“What – no! What? Shayne,” he pleaded. “What happened to you?”
The question sent me right back to the kitchen, with Watson pinning me up against the wall while Madelyn approached me with the warding jar. The demon had taken almost two days to banish once I’d swallowed it, and I was still feeling the toll on my body. I hadn’t managed to keep any human food down since the devouring, and I’d slept so much that my head felt like it was underwater.
“I’m sorry if I caused you any kind of trouble.”
“Are you even hearing me right now? Shayne, look at me, please.”
I did, but just for a second. Long enough for him to give me one of his sad smiles. “I’ve been so worried about you.”
My stomach felt kind of weird after hearing that. I wondered if I was finally starting to feel hungry. I’d take that over the immense nothingness that had been washing over me for days. Maybe I could claw myself back to reality, after all.
“How are –” I cleared my throat. “How are you doing?”
“You missed a lot, actually.” His blue eyes twinkled slightly. Maybe I imagined it. “Me and Rin are going to catch you up.”
“You and Rin?” I asked, leaning to look behind him. Rin’s red pigtails spun around as soon as she saw me looking, but she was far away enough not to overhear everything. “You didn’t tell her about – about Watson, did you?”
“No,” Charlie said, pulling the straps on his schoolbag a little tighter. “But I’m here when you’re ready to talk about that, okay?”
I lowered my head and said, “thank you”, but it ended up being so quiet that I wasn’t sure Charlie had heard it. Either way, he turned and waved for Rin to come and join us.
“Told you he wasn’t a cat, Charles,” she scoffed, reaching up to push Charlie’s hair around a bit. “He’s just a weirdo, like us.”
Her gaze met mine for all of two seconds before she pulled my beanie from my head and started to run in the direction of school, pulling it down over the top of her head.
“Fuck’s sake,” I muttered before sprinting after her.
