Knowing Wrecker could've spoken to Gungi/understood him the entire time during that one episode but made a point of nudging Tech and asking him to translate solidifies to me that Wrecker is the sweetest older brother.

Because he knew what was said before he asked. He didn't need to get Tech to translate, yet he made a show of asking. Basically saying "hey, i need you" without saying it

It's just such a soft ass scene that makes my heart swell. Wrecker knows Tech likes doing things. He knows Tech likes being The Guy. He translates, pilots, does most odd jobs that make up the team. It's also seen during TCW when Wrecker is the one to co-pilot.

I know Tech is all "Wrecker's landings" in the first episode of s2 but I'm firm in my belief that Wrecker pulls his punches/gets a bit lazy about this stuff, not because he himself is lazy, it's just because he knows Tech loves doing it so much more

He gets to focus on what ACTUALLY interests him, but he also knows he's always there to be support for them. Because he knows Tech likes doing it, but he also knows he can't, not always.

He gets to pull back and do his job properly and well, while Tech gets to show off.

And you know what? Wrecker loves that. He understands that war is a physical job. So when he can, Wrecker takes a back seat. He's a demolition expert with enhanced strength. He is THE standard for a soldier, while Tech is leaner with more intelligence than brawn.

So if he CAN seem a bit out of his depth and give up the spotlight, he very much will. For all his siblings, and that's the cutest thing ever

tw for child death I guess! (this is very dick centric I hate him)

each time one of the batboys dies, they write letters to the deceased. Dick specifically keeps boxes of each of the letters he's written to the boys. Jason's and Damian's are the fullest.

a good number of Damian and Jason's letters are a repeated mantra of "I'm sorry", trailing off into weak scribbles and tear stains.

he also has a box of letters dedicated to Bruce, most of which are violently scribbled vents. "If you had been here", "if you were a better father", etc. many of those papers are ripped from the aggression with which Dick wrote them.

Dick visits the family graves often. hes fallen asleep next to them more times than what would ever be considered healthy. he will either wake up alone or be woken up by Alfred or Bruce, who had gone looking for him after realizing he hadn't come back to the manor. Jason found him once, and they haven't spoken about it since.

Dick often shows up to Jason's safe houses unannounced. sometimes Jason will already have food ready, because something about the way Nightwing hovered over Red Hood during their shared patrol that evening seemed off. they'll spend the evening together, making smalltalk. sometimes they're silent the entire time. they both know why Dick is there, so they don't need to talk about it.

sometimes Damian comes home after his own patrols to find Dick asleep outside his door or next to his bed, comforter clenched in one hand and sketchbook in the other. Dick's face will be wet with tears and snot, nose and eyes rubbed raw from how he'd been crying. normally this only happens on nights where Dick is overcome with flashbacks of losing Damian.

Damian's sketchbook and school uniform were ruined with tears after he came back.
