Reunited in the Afterlife
Summary: Set in the Kraang Apocalypse timeline. Each of the turtles & April reunite with their family after dying in battle.
Author’s Note: Hey! Sorry that this took so long to update. This chapter is my longest one yet. I wanted to put in extra effort because a) there are now more dead characters that they need to reunite with and b) Future Leo and Mikey’s deaths are the ones we have the most information about in canon. I think you guys will like it. Enjoy!
Part 4: Mikey and Leo
(Part 1: Raph, Part 2: Donnie, Part 3: April)
“Do me a favor. When you’re done saving the world, grab a slice!” Leo tossed Casey into the portal that Mikey, his baby brother, had given his life to open. Casey reached out to him as he flew backward and the turtle tried to ignore the pain in his heart. He didn’t want to lose Casey too but this was their only chance for a better world.
 Just as he let go of his student, two Kraangified dogs lunged at him, murder in their eyes. But he had been surviving the apocalypse for 24 years. Leo gave Casey one last reassuring smile before he whipped out his sword and deflected the dog’s attack. He ran a few steps away from the portal, hoping to lead the dogs away from the last surviving member of his family, when a blinding red light surrounded him. Then his vision went black.
 Leo opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a tall gate glowing jade green several meters away from him. Wait, what? The turtle rubbed the back of his head. He was confused. Looks like he wasn’t in New York anymore. “Where am I?” Leo whispered to himself.
 “LEO!!!” a voice exclaimed. The slider’s heart skipped a beat. He lowered his eyes from the glowing gate to see none other than the glowing figure of Michelangelo Hamato racing towards him.
 Leo let out a laugh, his heart warming. “Mikey!” he cried as his little brother launched himself at him. Mikey tackled him in a hug, just like he used to do when they were teens, his cloak becoming tangled in the process. It didn’t matter that Leo had just seen him a few minutes ago, the last time he saw Mikey he was exploding into thousands of light particles. He was allowed to be concerned.
“Did Casey make it through?” Leo nodded into his shoulder. “Good,” Mikey replied. “It’s alright Leo, I’m here.” The smile was evident in his voice. Leo let out a happy sigh before he pulled back to get a better look at his brother.
 “Thanks, Mikey. Just promise you won’t go supernova on me again, ‘kay?” he said in a half-teasing tone. His brother let out a giggle and nodded. Leo responded with a grin and then proceeded to ruffle Mikey’s sideburns.
 “Ah! Hey! Leo!” Mikey laughed while swatting his hand away. The older turtle let out a chuckle. “Hey, what is this place anyway?” Leo asked.
 Mikey’s laughter died down and he became quiet. “You see that gate over there?” he asked, pointing to the glowing green one Leo saw when he first arrived. Leo nodded. Mikey took a breath. “On the other side is the afterlife, where the souls of the dead live.”
 Leo’s eyes widened. “The afterlife…” he whispered. “So that’s what that red light was! I took a direct hit from the beam on Kraang Prime’s armor.”
 “Not gonna lie, that’s a pretty cool way to die,” Mikey said.
 “So if all the souls of the dead are beyond that gate,” Leo said, his tone becoming solemn. “Does that mean that…they are in there?” He didn’t need to use their names. Mikey knew who he was talking about.
 His brother nodded, getting the hint. “I wanted to wait for you before going in. It wouldn’t be a family reunion without all of us there. You ready?”
 Leo hesitated. He’s never been good at facing his emotions head-on. That’s why he used humor to cope. It was so much easier to deflect and pretend that everything was fine than to allow himself to be vulnerable. He was a lot like Donnie that way.
 Donnie… Leo softened at the thought of his twin. His twin who gave his life to save so many others. His twin whose presence never died even after he was gone thanks to his machines. Could he really be about to see him again? And Raph too? Leo still had nightmares about the day he died. The idea of seeing him again…it seemed too impossible to hope.
 Yet here he stood, a soul about to enter the afterlife. And all he had to do was walk through those gates to see his family again. His brothers, his dad, Draxum, Cassandra, and Gram-gram. Leo took a deep breath and faced Mikey, a brave smile on his face. “I’m ready,” he said.
 Mikey smiled and took Leo’s hand. The two brothers walked toward the entrance to the afterlife together. There was an old man standing beside the gates whose eyes widened upon seeing them. “Resistance Leaders Michelangelo and Leonardo!” he exclaimed, standing up straighter. Leo, who was very used to this kind of treatment, gave the man a smile and nod in return. Mikey smiled and gave him a wave of his hand. “Hello!” he said, probably making the old man’s day.
 The gatekeeper then opened the glowing gates and gave them a respectful bow. “Welcome to the afterlife,” he said. “Thank you,” Leo said softly.
 Mikey bent down to ask the man a question. “By the way, have you seen an April O’Neil pass through here?” the box turtle asked. The old man nodded his head. “She arrived just fifteen minutes ago.” The two brothers exchanged a look. April was here with them. That meant their entire family would be together for the first time in almost seventeen years. Minus Casey Jr. who was hopefully trying to stop Leo’s 16-year-old self from making the biggest mistake of his life.
 Mikey turned back around to the old man. “Thank you for telling us,” he said. Then he nudged Leo’s arm and gave him a soft smile. “Come on Leo. Let’s go see our family again.” The red-eared slider grinned back. The two turtles walked through the gates.
 They had barely made it a few steps in when they found all the ghosts collected near the gate staring at them. “Umm…hi?” Mikey said awkwardly. Immediately, all the souls started panicking and screaming questions. Leo winced at the noise. He should have expected this. He and Mikey were the last remaining leaders of the resistance so the fact that they were dead was not a good sign.
 “HEY! GIVE THEM SOME SPACE!” a strong female voice rang out. At the sound of it, the crowd quieted down and slowly started to disperse. Leo glanced at Mikey. They appeared to be thinking the same thing. There was only one person who that voice could belong to: April.
 Their suspicions were confirmed when Commander O’Neil appeared through what was left of the crowd. “And April O’Neil saves your butts once again,” the Commander said with a smirk.
 “April!” Mikey cried before tackling her in a hug that probably would have killed her if she weren’t already dead. “Woah!” she laughed, stumbling backward a bit. Leo chuckled. Then he waltzed up behind them and wrapped his arms, one small and fleshy, the other large and robotic, around the pair and spun them around. April and Mikey laughed and shrieked in protest, which only fueled him more.
 After a few more spins, he set them down. “How did you even get here?” Leo asked. “We thought you were still alive until the dude at the gates told us otherwise.”
 “I was struck in the back with a laser beam,” April said, gesturing towards her back. “But unlike with you, it didn’t vaporize my body. You actually ran right past my corpse earlier. But you were busy bleeding out so I forgive you.”
 “Oh,” Leo said. “Wait, how did you know that I got hit with a laser too?”
 “Anatawa Hitorijanai,” April quoted. “Spirits of the dead can look after their loved ones on earth and when I died a few minutes ago, I gained that ability too.”
 “Like Gram-gram?!” Mikey exclaimed with stars in his eyes. Just like how he did as a teen before the Kraang invasion, Leo noted. “And Splinter’s mom?!”
 April grinned. “Yeah, just like them,” she said before turning to face Leo. “I heard you got stabbed and we decided you needed all the help you could get. Even from beyond the grave.”
 “So you were haunting us,” Leo said with a smirk. Mikey let out a snort.
 April’s features fell into an annoyed expression. “That’s not exactly the word I would use,” she said.
 “Stalking? Spying?” Leo teased, his grin becoming wider. Mikey was desperately trying to conceal his laughter.
 April rolled her eyes and sighed. “You’re hopeless. Both of you.”
 Leo chuckled. “But seriously now,” he said. “Thanks for watching over us. Even though we ended up dying only like 15 minutes after you, thanks for making the effort.”
 April smiled warmly. “No problem,” she said. “Now if you’ll excuse me,” she continued, her smile becoming mysterious and secretive. “There are two people who have been waiting very patiently to talk to you again.” She stepped aside to reveal…their brothers. Raph and Donnie stood there, their souls glowing red and purple wearing soft smiles on their faces. Mikey gasped and Leo dropped his sword in shock, making it clatter on the ground. The sound echoed in the sudden silence.
 “Took you guys long enough,” Donnie said with a smirk, the sound of his voice making Leo’s heart ache. It was him, it was really him. Not a hologram projection, or Omega, or a recording of his voice, but the real Donnie. His twin. Leo had to fight back his tears. Mikey, who was standing beside him, already had tears streaming down his face.
 “It’s about time the Mad Dogs had a reunion,” Raph said with a grin. And he thought hearing Donnie’s voice again was a shock. Leo forced himself to look directly at his older brother. His older brother who still looked exactly the same as he did 13 years ago. His older brother who had been his best friend during his teenage years and his closest confidant during the first 11 years of the apocalypse. His older brother, whose scolding always, always came from a place of love. His older brother, who sacrificed himself to save Leo’s life. Against his will, tears started streaming down Leo’s cheeks. Then a smile started to form on his face, the joy of seeing his brothers again overpowering all the years of loss and sadness the apocalypse brought.
 “Raph! Donald!” Mikey cried happily, big, fat tears of joy streaking down his face. He charged at them as fast as he could. Leo let out a chuckle, a smile spreading across his face, and followed suit, running towards his brothers and Raph’s open arms. The Kraang had tried to beat him down for 24 years. They took away his home, his friends, his family, and now his life. But he would not let them take away his spirit. If he lost that, then the Kraang won. And he was not going to let that happen. He had wasted enough time on tears and he wasn’t going to give any more of them to the Kraang. Leo crashed into his brothers, all of them laughing as they had their first group hug in over 13 years.
 Leo closed his eyes, wishing to preserve this moment forever. How he missed the feeling of Raph’s spiky arms engulfing all three of them, Mikey’s much tinier arms struggling to reach all the way around, and Donnie’s comforting weight leaning against him, his twin’s arms pinned to his sides. It’s them. It’s really them. I’m with my brothers again, Leo thought. He started to cry again. Not from grief this time, but from relief and joy. Raph’s grip tightened as he picked all of them up and spun them around. Mikey’s happy shriek pierced Leo’s ears as well as Donnie’s startled yells. The slider didn’t mind one bit the damage being done to his eardrums. He was just happy to be with his family again.
 Raph set the three of them back down but no one wanted the hug to end. “Can we stay like this a bit longer?” Mikey whispered, effectively breaking his older brother’s hearts. Leo raised his head and exchanged a look with Raph. They both smiled softly, remembering how innocent and optimistic Mikey was before the Kraang invasion shoved the cruelties of the world right into his face. “Of course, Michael,” Donnie said, freeing his pinned arms to wrap them around their youngest brother. Their group hug tightened once more. Leo sighed. Maybe it was okay for Leo to let himself be vulnerable.
 “Hey April! Get in here!” Raph yelled. Still standing off to the side, April raised her eyebrows in surprise. Then she broke into a giant grin, her eyes crinkling at the corners. She laughed and ran right at the boys, joining their group hug. Immediately, four pairs of arms wrapped around her. Now we’re complete, Leo thought with a smile.
 After what seemed like an eternity, the four brothers and April finally pulled apart, big smiles on all of their faces. Leo chuckled, wiping the last tears from his eyes. “I missed you guys so much,” he said, smiling brighter than he has in years.
 Donnie nudged Leo’s side affectionately and smiled. “We missed you too, Nardo. As fun as it was haunting you-” April groaned, cutting him off. “Not you too, Dee,” she whined. Donnie smirked and continued without missing a beat. “It just, dramatic sigh, wasn’t the same. I longed for our bi-weekly trash talk sessions. It’s good to have you here, Leo.”
 “Gee, if you wanted me dead, you could have just said so,” Leo joked, matching Donnie’s smirk. “But I missed talking to you too. The real you. Not Omega or one of your inventions.” That statement earned a soft smile from Donnie. Sure, it was mostly aimed at the floor because Donnie was emotionally constipated, but Leo understood how much that one action meant.
 “Hey, what about me?” Mikey teased. Donnie smiled genuinely and flung his arm around Michael. “Of course I missed you too, dear Angelo. Whatever would I do without my favorite partner in crime? But it seems I have taught you well. You were certainly a force to be reckoned with earlier. You had impeccable timing too.”
 Mikey grinned. “Thanks, Donald,” he said. “Just imagine if you were there. Your guns and my chains would have been an unstoppable team!”
 “I concur,” Donnie said ruffling Mikey’s hair. “Hey!” the box turtle exclaimed. “Leave my sideburns alone!”
 “Very well Master Yoda.”
 “WHY YOU!”
 While Mikey and Donnie were bickering playfully, Raph nudged Leo’s side. “Hey, I’m proud of you little bro,” his older brother said gently. Leo’s eyes widened. “Wait, really?” he asked. Leo used to feel that the whole Kraang invasion was his fault since he was the one who made Raph drop the key. He now understood that it was the Foot Clan’s fault for deciding to use it, but the feeling still lingered a bit.
 Raph smiled and nodded. “Of course,” he said. “I saw how you led the resistance for the past decade. You rose up to every challenge that came your way and gave the resistance hope to keep going. You led raids and rescue missions and you saved so many lives.”
 But I couldn’t save the ones that mattered, Leo thought to himself, his heart a bit heavy. Raph seemed to have read his mind because he said, “Hey, don’t blame yourself.” His tone was serious and stern. “I made my decision and I would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant saving your life. Besides, you have no control who lives, who dies, who tells your story.”
 “Did you just quote Hamilton to make me feel better?”
 “Yes, absolutely. Did it work?” Raph asked with such an adorable grin on his face, Leo couldn’t help but laugh. “Yeah, it did. Thanks.”
 Raph grinned. “No problem,”he said. “But my point is, you were an amazing leader and we are all so proud of you. Without you, I don’t think we would’ve been able to hold off the Kraang for as long as we did. And I want you to know it.”
 Leo sniffed and wiped a single tear from his eye. “Thanks, Raph,” he murmured. His big brother wrapped his arms around him and pulled him into a hug. “Anytime, he said. “By the way, I love what you did with your prosthetic. And your sword too.” It’s safe to say that Leo had to use every single ounce of his willpower not to break down crying right then and there. But before a single tear could escape from his eye, the sound of someone yelling echoed through the clearing, interrupting the moment.
 “I DON’T CARE IF YOU TWO ARE DEAD, I’M GOING TO MURDER YOU!!!”
 Leo’s eyes widened as he pulled away from the hug. He and Mikey exchanged a look. If that voice was who they thought it was, they were so dead. Pun intended. The brothers turned to April. “Is it just me or was that…?” Leo asked, trailing off.
 April nodded, an evil smile growing on her face. “That,” she said mischievously. “Would be Cassandra. I’d run if I were you. She is pissed.” Leo swore under his breath. He was heartbroken when Cass died, leaving behind her young son, and he was dying to see her again, but If she was made, whoo boy he was done for.
 At that, the one and only Cassandra Jones stormed in looking, as April had said, very pissed. “Okay,” she started. “While I understand why you did it, WHAT ON EARTH! MADE YOU THINK! THAT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO RANDOMLY TOSS MY BOY INTO A TIME PORTAL WITH NO EXPLANATION?! At least you had a sound enough mind to give him clear instructions. But still, aside from our stories, the kid knows nothing about how life was before the apocalypse. He’s probably going to attack the first person he sees.”
 Leo opened and closed his mouth, biting back a remark of like mother, like son as well as any sentimental goop one might say after seeing their dead friend after you helped raise their son. Thankfully, Mikey saved his sorry butt from any potential embarrassment. “Cass?” he gasped softly. Casey’s pissed demeanor melted away like butter and was replaced with a warm smile. Leo smirked. Cass has always had a soft spot for Mikey. But the wholesome atmosphere melted away the second Cass opened her mouth again.
 “Hey, Grandpa Mikey,” she teased, her grin big and mischievous.
 “OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!”
 “Dr. Delicate Touch had entered the chat,” Donnie muttered as he walked up behind Leo. Leo snorted as Raph burst into a fit of giggles. He missed joking around with his brothers like this.
 After Casey had finally calmed down from her fit of giggles, she turned to Leo. “But seriously, thank you for taking care of my little stinkbug after I kicked the bucket. You really kept to your promise.” The blue turtle smiled warmly when she said that. “It was my pleasure. That kid is too good for this world.” Cassandra nodded in agreement.
 “Oh and by the way, your dads are here,” Cass added. Leo and Mikey whipped their heads around to see Splinter running towards them as fast as he could with Draxum at his heels. “Pops?” Leo whispered just as Mikey yelled “DAD! BARRY!” Mikey started to sprint towards them as well. Leo’s shocked expression melted into a smile. He chuckled then turned to look at his other two brothers and April. “Come on!” Leo said to them before turning around and following after Mikey. He could hear Raph, Donnie, and April’s footsteps behind him as he ran towards his parents.
 Leo overtook Mikey and scooped hi dad up into his arms. Splinter let out a big hearty laugh that reminded Leo of when he was younger. He felt three shapes crash into them, Mikey, April and Donnie, before two giant pairs of arms wrapped around them, Raph and Draxum. “Oh, my boys,” their dad muttered, his voice warm and loving. Leos cheeks started to hurt from all the smiling he was doing. He was with his family again. “I missed you so much, Dad,” Leo said. “I did too,” Mikey added. As they were hugging, Leo and Mikey began to change color. Their souls that were once the default jade green color began to change into bright orange and blue. But no one noticed at the time. They were all too invested in the hug.
After several loving minutes they all pulled apart, grinning faces all around. “Hey, we got our colors back!” Mikey exclaimed, admiring his outstretched arms, now glowing orange instead of green. Leo nodded in response, blue always suited him better. Plus, now he was matching with his brothers again.
 Leo then heard the sharp sound of someone clearing their throat. He turned around to see that it came from Draxum who was looking at him pointedly. “Good to see you Leonardo,” Draxum said with a pinch of passive aggression. Leo realized he hadn’t greeted the alchemist yet The slider gave Draxum a mischievous grin. “Good to see you too, Goat man. How did you get up here anyways? Last I checked, you were still kicking Kraang butt with your mystic vines.”
 Barry rolled his eyes in amusement at the nickname. “I passed away several minutes after O’Neil. I believe I was hit with a laser.”
 “Wow, everyone’s getting murdered by lasers,” April commented. Everyone laughed at that. “I know right!” Leo replied, putting his weight on one leg. “At least that means we’re all together again,” Mikey said sweetly. “Yeah,” Raph replied, ruffling the box turtle’s hair fondly.
 “Really? All of you? Aren’t you forgetting someone?,” a familiar female voice teased. Leo’s head snapped up at the voice. He and Mikey turned to see Karai standing several feet away with a sweet smile on her face. “GRAM-GRAM!!!” the two of them exclaimed in unison.
 Karai laughed. “It’s good to see you boys too,” she said. “Come on. We will all show you around.” Karai reached out her hand. Leo hesitated. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder. “You heard her,” Raph said with a grin, looking down at him. “Let’s show you guys around.” Raph took Leo’s hand and lead him towards Karai just as Donnie grabbed Mikey’s hand and did the same. Leo took Gram-gram’s outstretched arm, then Mikey took her other one. All nine of them, Raph, Leo, Mikey, Donnie, April, Splinter, Draxum, Cassandra, and Karai, joined hands in one big line. Leo closed his eyes, feeling more complete than he had in years. Then Gram-gram started to move forward, bringing all of them with her.
 “Welcome to the Afterlife,” she said

Punk gerard with a preppy gf?
She’s Cheer Captain and I’m Questioning My Gender (High school! Gerard Way x reader)
Summary: Gerard’s cheerleader girlfriend spent the weekend at his place, and she made sure to bring everything she’d need for school on Monday. Some of the stuff in her bag makes some interesting thoughts pop up...
Word count: 981
Warnings: none
A/N: ok I won’t lie, this was heavily inspired by all the cheerard photos that came out of the Nashville show. Fight me. (Also this was the first thing that came to mind when I read ‘preppy’, so I’m sorry if that isn’t quite the vibe you were going for... I think it’s more of a USA thing than a UK thing lmao)
“Babe. Babe. Hey, your alarm went off fifteen minutes ago, I don’t want you to be late. (Y/n). Babe. Are you dead? Come on.”
Groaning, (y/n) buried her head into the faded band shirt that Gerard had worn instead of pyjamas. “But I’m so cozy here.”
He giggled. “Yeah I know, but you kinda have to move. Don’t you have practice before school today?”
Finally, she sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. “I bet it’s gonna be freezing outside, and I’m tired. I don’t wanna go.”
“It’s your own fault for signing up for it then.”
She dragged herself out of his bed and tossed a pillow at his face, smirking as it hit the top of his head before reaching the wall, making a soft crinkling sound as it ruffled the collage of posters he had curated there. “No, it’s your fault for making me watch you and Mikey screw about with guitars until one thirty in the morning.”
He pulled what could only be described as a puppy-dog face, last night’s eyeliner smudging into deep raccoon circles against his pale cheeks. “I thought you liked dating a rockstar.”
She shot a look over her shoulder as she tied her hair back. “I thought rockstars were meant to be cool.”
Gasping in mock offence, Gerard got to his feet, ignoring the cold that clung to his bare legs, and wrapped his arms around her from behind. “Hey, that’s rude!”
“But true.” She giggled, leaning back to kiss the tip of his nose. “Can you check my cheer bag while I get changed? I can’t remember if I picked my shoes up or not.”
He nodded, and she ducked out of his room and headed for the bathroom, careful to tread quietly so she didn’t disturb the rest of his family. The sun was just rising, it’s soft golden light making her reflection glow as she washed her face and put on a little makeup. It was nothing special - just some concealer under her eyes and a touch of lip gloss - but she knew that Gerard would rain her with compliments nonetheless. He always said that he loved everything about her, from each strand of her hair to the chipped varnish on her toenails. (Y/n) tucked her blouse into her skirt and threw one of Gerard’s plainer zip up hoodies on before heading back down to his bedroom.
But when she returned, she found him sitting on the edge of his bed, her cheer dress spread across his lap and a slight frown on his face.
“Hey, you okay in there? Earth to Gerard.”
He jumped slightly, like he hadn’t even noticed her come in. “Yeah, I-I’m fine. Just...” He trailed off, and she sat down next to him, smiling reassuringly. They’d had a few conversations before about his feelings around clothes and gender, and how stupid it was that pieces of fabric being shaped a certain way somehow meant that only a certain type of person could wear them. But while he’d felt pretty comfortable with wearing a little makeup every now and then - very much inspired by the fact that half the people in his favourite punk bands and everyone in the crowds took great care in dolling themselves up for gigs - crossing the line into exploring ‘women’s clothing’ had been a step too far, for now. So even though he hadn’t said anything, she knew where his mind had wandered to.
“I don’t know if it would fit you - it’d probably be short enough to get you written up for indecent exposure.”
That made him laugh, and he nuzzled against her shoulder. “It’s pretty short on you, so you’re probably right. Not that I’m complaining about that.”
She punched him playfully in the arm. “Perv. I think the green would look pretty cute on you though.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. It would really make your eyes pop.”
Gerard shifted a little, toying with the edge of the skirt. “The material feels so... swishy. Like, it would make me wanna dance if I was wearing it.”
(Y/n) shrugged. “Maybe that’s why they use it. I just wish the top part wasn’t white, it’s a pain in the ass to clean. And Alice and Chloe keep screwing up our stunts and dropping me, so it’s always covered in dirt.”
“Nah, I like the white. It’s cute. I don’t think any other colour would look quite so good. Although,” and he paused to kiss her on the cheek. “Maybe it’s just so cute when you’re the one wearing it.”
She rolled her eyes and kissed him back before holding a hand out for the dress. “You’re so dumb. Were my shoes in the bag?”
“Oh, yeah. Right at the bottom.”
“Thanks. I’d better get going soon.” And she stuffed the silky dress back into her bag - but not before catching the look in her boyfriend’s eyes. The look of reluctance, tinged with wonder. She looked up at him as she zipped everything up. “Hey, you know what would definitely make you cool? Maybe you can wear something like this at a show one day.”
“Yeah... maybe.” His tone made it clear that he wasn’t remotely convinced, but at least his frown had disappeared. As they got into the car and he turned the radio up, singing along to the Bowie song that was playing, the last of his tension seemed to melt away, and (y/n) grinned.
“You know, Bowie didn’t give a fuck what anyone thought. He dressed however he wanted, and people still adored him for it.”
Gerard snorted. “Yeah, but I’m not David Bowie.”
She pulled a face, pretending to think carefully about something, before reaching over and patting his knee. “Maybe not, but I think you’re cooler.”
The smile she was met with in response was brighter than the sun could ever be.

Chapter 1: Daisy Bell
“Middy was woken up to her 8 year old sister shaking her and bouncing all around. “Wake up! Wake up!” The little girl in a pink tutu yelled.
“Ok. Ok. I’m up, Dawn” middy said as she got up and rubbed her sisters light blonde hair.
-
April woke up to an alarm blaring at her. She left her phone on her bed again. She put a pillow over her face to try to ignore it.
She wasn’t ready yet. But she knew dad would sleep in too if she didn’t get up to wake him first.
-
Casey woke up as sun from the window hit his face. He opened his eyes as he realized he fell asleep in full gear again as he breathed into his mask.
He got up and saw his sister across from him, her thick purple curly hair sticking out from her blanket. He better get her stuff ready before it was time for her to get up.
-
“Raph! Time to get up!” Raph heard Leo say as he banged on his door. Raph groaned at Leo before turning the other way. He heard Leo sigh and then leave behind the door.
Now he could get up. He got out of bed and petted a sleeping chompy before leaving his room.
-
Middy took care of her morning routines as her sister copied her. After that, middy fixed up her hair and put on makeup. Her sister pretended to do the same with a toothbrush.
Middy chuckled at this as she put on lipstick. “Breakfast is ready!” She heard her mom yell. “We’re coming!” Middy responded. “We’re coming!” Dawn mimicked as the two left the bathroom.
-
April got out of bed, feeling hair sticking to her face. She put her fingers through her hair to “comb” it as she left her room to check on her dad.
Her dad was passed out on the couch next to a monitor. She knew she needed to wake him up but… she put a blanket over him and let him be.
-
Casey snuck past his dad, who was passed out on the couch surrounded by beer bottles. Casey looked at him and considered helping him.
It wasn’t worth it. He continued to sneak into the kitchen in order to get angels breakfast ready and her lunch packed.
-
Raph got out of his room and saw Leo look back at him. His older brother gave raph a mean glare.
Raph simply smirked as his mission was accomplished. He could vaguely hear and smell Mikey making breakfast and decided to head that way.
-
Middy was all dressed and got her mini backpack as she said bye to her mom, dad and sister.
“Have a good day with your friends, honey” her mom told her as she hugged her. “Thanks. I will” middy responded before leaving, putting in headphones as she walked down the busy streets of New York.
-
April made herself eat some leftovers from last night. She didn’t want to eat but knew she needed to. When she thought she ate enough, she took her meds and went back to her room to get dressed.
She had clothes out that she wore yesterday ready to wear again. She walked out and grabbed her purse. She looked at her dad before leaving, not realizing she forgot to clean her face or fix up her hair before leaving. It’d be fine.
-
“Are you gonna eat” angel asked Casey as he packed her backpack. “Nah I already did” he lied, knowing she’d make him if he was honest. “Here” she handed him a granola bar, not buying the lie. “Sis I’m fine” he responded, shooing her away. “Casey I’m 14. Not 4. Take the bar” she told him with an absolutely done expression.
Casey rolled his eyes. “Fine” he said as he snatched it from her. He got up and handed her her backpack. As she went to grab it, he grabbed her and put her in a headlock. “Have a good day with your friends, sis” he said as he gave her a noogie. “I will I will” she said laughing as Casey let her go.
She waved bye to him before leaving. Casey snuck back to his room and grabbed his bag of gear, leaving through the window.
-
Raph walked into the kitchen and saw his little brother getting breakfast ready. “Mornin raph” Mikey said. “Mornin mike” Raph responded as he went to the sink to get water.
“Hey check this out” Mikey said as he flipped the scrambled eggs in a pan high up. “That’s gonna fall on your head and burn you” raph said as he leaned on the sink and drank the water.
“Nah no way. I gots mad skills” Mikey said as he flipped it higher and then struck a pose upon catching it.
Raph rolled his eyes as Donnie walked. “Mornin don. Wanna see my trick?” Mikey asked Donnie. Donnie ignored Mikey and went for the coffee pot next to raph.
Donnie took the whole pot and drank from it before turning around and leaving with it. Raph gave Donnie a weird look. “This is why I don’t do caffeine” he muttered as he took another sip of water.
“Wait. Aren’t you gonna stay for breakfast?” Mikey asked Donnie,only to still be ignored. Mikey let out a harumph and put his hands on his hips, clearly insulted. Raph chuckled quietly at this.
Leo then walked in, not looking at either of them. “Mornin fearless” raph said to him. Leo looked up at raph and then ignored him as he made two cups of tea. Raph raised an eyebrow at this.
“I’ll be in the dojo if you guys need me” Leo said as he left with the teacups. “Wait what about-“ Mikey tried to say but Leo left before he could finish.
Mikey crossed his arms in annoyance. “What’s the point of cooking all this if no one’s gonna sit down to eat together?” He muttered.
“Hey I’ll sit with ya. I’m just gonna have a session with the dummy first” raph told him as he went to leave.
“I think Leo’s too busy” Mikey responded. Raph cracked up at that unexpected burn. “Nice one. I’ll see you in a few, mr comedian” raph told Mikey as he left.
Mikey continued his trick as he made breakfast while raph went into the living room. He stretched in front of the dummy before getting his sai out for target practice.
Raph got a few good shots in. He was about to go to his next one when-
“OWWW!” He heard from the kitchen.
Raph dropped his sai and ran back to the kitchen. He saw Mikey with steaming scrambled eggs on his hand. Raph facepalmed before going up to him to brush the eggs off.
Mikey looked like he was about to cry as raph helped him. “Tried to tell ya, dumbass” he said to Mikey as he grabbed an ice pack to put over the burn.
“I thought I had mad skillz” Mikey whined. “Maybe with flipping baddies but apparently not with flipping eggs. Now hold still” raph said as he put the ice pack on Mikey’s head.
“Oww” Mikey whined. “Oh come on. You’ve been through worse without complaints” raph said as he texted middy something.
“But it hurtss” Mikey said. “Hmm. I know what’ll distract from the pain” raph said with a grin. “What?” Mikey said.
Raph grabbed Mikey and put him in a headlock. “OWW! AHH! STOP STOP!” Mikey yelled while laughing, flailing his arms.
“Do it harder? Ok” raph said as he squeezed Mikey’s head. “Noo! Stopp! No fair!” Mikey yelled. Raph chuckled while Mikey tried to hit him.
“Raph! Will you knock it off?!” Leo yelled as he suddenly burst in. Raph let Mikey go.
Way to be diligent, mr sensei
Raph thought. Leo pinched the bridge of his nose. “Can you be nice for once and not harass or bully someone raph?” He said.
Raphs face twitched upon that. He wanted to smack Leo for that but held back. He took a deep breath.
It’s not worth it it’s not worth it.
“Sure thing fearless” raph said through gritted teeth. Leo glared at raph, causing Mikey to feel uncomfortable and curl up a bit.
Mikey saw Leo’s left eye twitch before his older brother left. He then looked at raph, who he saw was breathing in through his nose and out through his mouth.
“You alright?” Mikey asked him. Raph took a deep breath and said as he breathed out “yeah I’m fine”. Mikey knew this wasn’t true, but figured raph needed to space.
“You can get back to sparring with the dummy while I finish making breakfast” Mikey said. “Nah nah. I don’t want you hurting yourself again. I asked middy to bring us some pizza and some aloe vera for your burn” raph responded.
Mikey then remembered his burn and felt it hurting again. “Thanks” Mikey said. “No problem” raph said as he rubbed Mikey’s head and got up, causing Mikey to grimace.
Raph suddenly remembered the burn. “My bad” he said as he removed his hand. “No worries” Mikey said as he got up and punched raphs arm.
Raph chuckled as he rubbed his sore arm. “Nice one” he said as he punched Mikey’s arm back.
-
“Hey guys!” Middy said as her, Casey and april walked in. “Hey. How you guys doin?” Raph said as he went up and kissed middys cheek.
“Fine. Schools a pain” april responded. “Yeah I don’t even know why I go since I can’t do hockey” Casey chimed in.
“What happened with you and hockey?” Mikey asked as he walked in. “I was too awesome so they had to kick me out to give the other team a fair shot” Casey responded, prompting almost everyone else to roll their eyes.
“Pretty sure it’s cause you’ve been failing classes due to sleeping through them” april said.
Casey crossed his arms. “Oh come on! I gotta get sleep somewhere. And unlike you, I can’t just read the teachers minds during tests to pass” Casey responded.
April gave a fake offended look. “I don’t do that…. Much…” she said. Everyone gave her a look.
“Oh come on. I still wanna graduate” she said. “Yeah but isn’t that cheating?” Mikey asked.
“The school systems rigged anyway. This is why I’m homeschooled” middy chimed in. “We know” april and Casey said together.
“Oh! Here’s that aloe Vera for you Mikey” middy said as she handed the bottle to him. “Thanks” Mikey said as he rubbed it on his head, forgetting his mask was there and soaking it.
Raph put an arm around his girlfriend’s shoulder. “Hey raph. I found this cool creepy lullaby. Wanna hear it?” Middy asked him. “Sure” raph said as they went into the living room.
April and Casey looked at Mikey and tried to hold back laughter as they saw his head was covered in green goo. Mikey had an annoyed face.
“I’m gonna clean up. Can you guys get Donnie?” He asked them. “What about Leo?” April asked. “I don’t think he’s in the mood” Mikey responded.
The two agreed and then left to go to Donnie’s lab. “Hey don! What’s up?” Casey yelled as they came in, causing Donnie to jump.
“Hey Jones” Donnie said sarcastically, not turning to see them. April went up next to Donnie, seeing him mess with chemicals.
“What are you working on?” She asked. Donnie jumped again as he didn’t realize she was there.
“Oh. Hey april. I’m working on a special concoction for myself” he responded. “Oh ok. What’s it for?” She asked as Casey came up to Donnie’s other side.
“It’s a special super caffeine formula that works 10x better than the strongest energy drink. With this, I’ll never need sleep again!” Donnie said as he held his concoction up, looking like a mad scientist.
“And I thought I was bad with energy drinks” Casey muttered. April facepalmed.
“Donnie. Please don’t drink that” april said. “Oh don’t worry april. I checked and it’s safe for consumption” Donnie responded as he was about to take a drink.
“No Donnie. Please. I want you to live past 20. Stop” april said as she tried to grab it from him. Donnie used his height against her to keep her away.
“It’s fine april! I swear!” Donnie said as he kept her away. Casey laughed at the cerfufle.
“Help me out, Jones” april said as she was being pushed back. “But this is so funny” Casey responded.
Casey yelled as he felt something smack his head. He rubbed his head as he looked at an annoyed april, knowing it was her.
Donnie ended up dropping his concoction, causing it to shatter on the floor. “Aw man” donnie said.
“Probably for the best” Casey said. The three then heard someone come in.
“Hey guys. Leo says we’re leaving for patrol in a few” Mikey came in to say. “Isn’t it really early for patrol?” Donnie asked.
“That’s what I said but he said something about “crime doesn’t have a check in time” or something so you all might wanna get ready” Mikey said before leaving.
“Weird” Casey said. “Eh Leo’s been more high strung lately. I’m sure it’ll pass once he sees there’s hardly any crime anymore” Donnie said as he walked out, april and Casey following him.
-
Leo took a deep breath as he felt his knee hurt. “Everythings fine” he said. He looked to the side and then forward.
“Yeah it hurts” he said. “I know. I know it’s in my head” he continued. His left eye twitched, prompting him to cover it.
Stupid eye
“I’m trying to ignore it. It’s just…” he stopped as he tended up. “I know. They can’t see this” he responded.
“I am being strong. Im GOING to be strong. I won’t let them see me like this. I won’t cry. I promise” he said as he grabbed his teacup and finished it.
He got up and turned to leave. He looked back and sighed. “I miss you father” he said before leaving the empty table on the floor, a still full teacup on it.
-
The rise in the party wagon was quiet. Casey drove the van while april sat next to him. The rest of the team in the back.
Raph looked across from him at his older brother. Leo wasn’t looking great.
His brother was looking down, his eyes clearly tired and his body tense. Leo wasn’t doing well lately.
Raph couldn’t help giving Leo a sad look. He wish he could help his older bro.
Maybe he just needed space.
Raph could hear middy next to him muttering something. He leaned in a bit to hear what she was saying.
“Daisy. Daisy. Give me your answer do” he heard her singing very quietly. He listened closer.
“It won’t be a stylish marriage. I can’t afford a carriage” she continued. Raph had an idea to lighten the awkward quiet mood. Maybe it’s even get Leo out of his funk.
“Daisy. Daisy. Give me you answer do.
I’m half crazy all for the love of you”
Middy stopped as she heard someone else sing with her. She turned to see that raph was the one singing along.
She then looked at Leo and saw him have a hand over his left eye. Middy chuckled at raphs gesture and continued.
“It won’t be a stylish marriage.
I can’t afford a carriage
But you’ll look sweet upon the seat
Of s bicycle made for two”
The two continued singing with smiles on their face, getting the others attention.
Raph heard chuckling as he got to the line
“There are bright lights in the dazzling eyes
Of beautiful daisy bell”
Prompting him to stop. “What?” He asked as he saw it was Mikey laughing.
“Dude you’re singing voice is so bad” Mikey laughed. “Oh like you can do better” raph said.
“Sure I can” Mikey said as he cleared his throat and continued the song.
“Daisy. Daisy. Give me your answer do.”
Raph and middy chuckled to each other and joined along.
“I’m half crazy all for the love of you.
It won’t be a stylish marriage
I can’t afford a carr-“
“Oh my god, Mikey. You could break glass your voice is so high pitched” Donnie chimed in.
Mikey crossed his arms, miffed. “Here. This is how you do it” Donnie said as he started singing.
“Daisy. Daisy. Give me your answer do.
I’m half crazy all for the love of you”
Donnie sang in a deeper voice. Mikey, middy and Raph decided to continue with him as Leo was tensing up, not looking at the others.
“But you’ll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle made for two”
April decided to join in for fun.
“I will stand by you in weal or woe
Daisy, Daisy.”
She nudged Casey as she sung.
You’ll be the bell which I’ll ring, you know
Sweet little daisy bell”
Casey thought about it and then shrugged.
Eh why not?
“You’ll take the lead in each trip we take
And if I don’t do well
I will permit you to use the brake
My beautiful daisy bell”
Everyone had a smile on their face as they badly sang together. April couldn’t help laughing between her singing.
Leo hugged himself as he felt his eye twitch. He looked at his T phone as he tried to track down a gang that’s been on the news lately.
He didn’t know why it was bothering him so bad. He looked at raph and saw his smile.
They were doing it to be annoying on purpose
No they aren’t
He took a deep breath. He knew they were just having fun. Why was it bothering him so much.
“Daisy. Daisy. Give me your answer do”
They all sang together. Leo was trying to keep his cool.
“I’m half crazy all for the love of you”
Why is he getting so bothered?
“It won’t be a stylish marriage”
Stupid eye. Stop twitching.
“I can’t afford a carriage”
They’re not doing it to defy you
“But you’ll look sweet upon the seat”
Stop getting so bothered.
“Of a bicycle built for-“
“Will you all be quiet so I can do my job?!” He yelled. Everyone stopped suddenly and the awkward silence returned.
He took a deep breath.
Goddamit. Why did he do that?
He continued looking through social media to try to track the gang. He was too harsh. He should apologize.
He managed to figure out a decent location to check first.
“Casey. Head towards little Italy” Leo ordered. “Got it” Casey said as he turned.
He looked at his brothers. Mikey and Donnie looked away from him while raph and middy glared at him. He glared back.
Good leaders don’t apologize.

I don't know how to write a shy, Awkward character but I'll retry my best for you!!
warning: some head bashings, cussing, and maybe some OOC.
{Masterlist 1} {masterlist 2}
-----------------------------------------------------------------
It's all about believing in yourself and having confidence. It's a battle of the mind."
yeah right, my ass.
Like it's so simple to get your point across without rambling on in a never-ending ramble that gets lower and lower till no one can hear you.
It doesn't help that you're literally surrounded by the epidemy of loudmouth,over-confident, cocky members of Toman on a daily basis
Being shy and Awkward in toman is a normal thing. You have Hakki and Souya who are adorably awkward just in different ways.
But it's so apparent on you! You can't even hide it and believe me, you tried to overcome it.
But you ended up scaring the poor soul you were trying to talk to. You were so focused that you didn't notice your stare was intensifying by the second.
So you were often feeling dejected when you try to break out of your shell. Sometimes when you focus too hard on befriending others your stares get intense to the point that they get mistaken for bitch faces and your aura just looks like your begging for a fight.
Souya and Nahoya
The first time you tried to befriend Nahoya didn't go so well. He thought you were picking a fight with him and you almost got into it if it wasn't for his younger brother.
Thank the lord for Souya.
the three of you become friends and get along well. Nahoya begins to read your body language and starts to interpret your actions into words. He's used to Souya's little quirks and he finds that you sometimes have the same ones as Souya's. He basically becomes your interpreter which isn't exactly the best thing due to the fact that the man has no chill. He just adds you to the sibling lists and begins to treat you like a long-lost sibling. The twins know what your trying to say before you even try to say it. That doesn't mean Nahoya won't tease you though.
"Hey, it's..."
-you hang up -
Nahoya never forgets to tease you about how you get so shy on the phone that you hung up once you get flustered. He never lets you live it down!
how could you hang up on him!
you get better with overtime but you managed to fluster the Kawata twins when you first said I love you.
Souya and Nahoya were dropping you off in front of your home after hanging out all day. When you finally say your goodbyes it slipped out and you didn't even notice!
"Okay, time to go sweetie."
"Alright, drive home safely."
"yes, mom."
"Love you see you tomorrow!"
The sound of their bikes crashing was heard in the distance. They ended up with giant bruises on their foreheads from bashing their heads onto the ground from falling in shock.
Hakkai and MItsuya
You can't stay in the same place as Hakkai! It gets so awkward so fast. Like you both just ignore each other presence but eventually you two end up catching each other looking and just look the other way. You think this is your cue to maybe start talking Hakkai
"...Hey...Wanna have a talk??..."
"...."
"no?...okay," you say with a slight hurt in your voice and Hakkai can't take this guilt.
Please forgive him!! He's sorry! Thanks for trying though.
Mitsuya has the time of his life seeing both of you interact, well if you can call it that.
yeah, so, um...do you want to see that new movie? I mean, eh, not with me if you don't want..."
of you sweet summer child, Mitsuya will help you and he'll go to the movies with you. He sees you trying so hard to at least talk to both of them.
this once time Mitsuya caught you reading this book on how to communicate with the opposite sex and he just didn't know what to do. He didn't even know why you needed the freaking book until he heard you talking to Hakkai or at least trying to for the 6th time today.
"Do you think I am cute?"
They sputter, they both sputter in utter shock! Where did this confidence come from??
"I'm sorry! I just read a book and it said it might be that!!" you move your arms wildly trying to explain away the situation away to a shell-shocked Hakkai.
After that Hakkai begins to talk to you little by little.
Only to be completely shell-shocked again when you told him you loved them after you parted ways for school.
His jaw hits the floor when Mitsuya says it back. Mitsuya has to explain to him, that it's normal in your household to say it, even in his.
It takes him a while but he says it.
Baji and Chifuyu
under construction
Baji was going to fight you if you kept up your murderous glares. You can catch these hands for free anywhere any time.
He was about to confront you until you stood in front of him. He just looks at you ready to fight if need be.
“You’re um really pretty.."
"??"
All that just for that?? Little Baji is confused. Now, look if Baji is getting pressed about you think of how Chifuyu reacted. He thought you were going to kill him! All you did was try to ease into talking with him about cats like Baji said but you couldn't come up with anything to open up the conversation. Baji thinks you're a lost cause at some point and he has to be in between you before you make Chifuyu look like a fool. Chifuyu eventually understands what you were trying to do and now knows your just shy and awkward.
"Baji!!"
"what?!"
"You're so cute, I love you!!!" you mess up his hair and run away.
sssh don't tell but he blushed a little. He was caught off guard so hard he didn't even chase you.
Chifuyu thinks you are in love with him. He thought you were confessing to him,
" yeah yeah, I love you. I'll see you in 2 hours."
"y-yeah love you too."
He panics and has a meltdown before calling Baji. He consults all the manga in his collection.
someone help this man.
Mikey and Draken
under construction
You fought one of them not gonna lie.
it was Draken
you fought Draken.
What do you expect! You say nothing as you look at them. So he thought you were picking a fight.
Mikey will say it back full-heartedly
"I love you too y/n!!"
Draken takes his time and probably tells you when it's just you two or else he's taking it to the grave.

Dragonboy - Draken
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
draken x fem!reader soulmate!au
summary: draken had conflicted feelings about meeting his soulmate, but it all goes away when he finally does
masterlist
***
When Draken was younger, he thought little about his soulmate. He was too busy trying to keep his ass alive between fights and upperclassmen to pay much attention to the words inked on his hip. It wouldn’t matter anyways, the world he lived in wasn’t made for soulmates.
If there was something he’d learnt while growing up in the brothel, other than the absolute respect and worship every woman deserved, was that soulmates didn’t mean shit. People cheated on theirs constantly, and those who hadn’t found theirs preferred to live their lives without their other half. If they were such a burden, why bother about them?
But he couldn’t fool his own subconscious. Something in him yearned to meet that person that was meant for him, otherwise he wouldn’t be careful of the tattoo when he got into fights, avoiding being hit on his lower abdomen as much as possible. Or how his fingers traveled there as a habit, or when he needed to calm down.
When he met Mikey, one of the first things the shorter boy asked was “So you met your soulmate yet?”. After having given up on trying to understand the boy —he was literally walking willingly to a beating while eating a lollipop and talking about life with him as if they were best friends, Ken didn’t really know what his deal was— he sighed and grumped a “no”, adding “It’s not like I need them”. Mikey had simply hummed that time, one second before arriving to where the upperclassmen were and beating their ass.
Draken hated how invested Mikey was in finding his soulmate.
"For the millionth time, Mikey. It’s none of your business!"
"It is! You’re my best friend, Ken-chin, and you keep lying to yourself saying you don’t need your soulmate, when you are waiting for the moment you meet them," Mikey’s statement would’ve probably had more weight and impact if his mouth wasn’t half full with dorayakis and he wasn’t opening the next one. But those are just details "You know what I think? I think you’re just worried they’ll see how scary you look and they’ll run away. But you mostly want them to be safe and you think they don’t deserve this life."
"You’re one to talk," Draken rolled his eyes "You always say your soulmate is gonna be the best in the world, but you’re scared your life will destroy them."
Okay, so that was a low blow. Draken knew it, Mikey knew it, even fucking Takemichi knew it. But it was already said, and Mikey just swallowed what was left of the sweet in his mouth and nodded.
"Maybe," he admitted "But at least I don’t lie to myself."
Ken wanted to apologize, he did. But he was annoyed at Mikey and his pride was once again in the way. With a shake of his head, the vice president left the place, going back home, hoping a goodnight sleep would make him feel better.
[...]
He treaded inside the brothel, with the frown still on his face and stopped when he saw a new girl. Something made him stare at her, and although he could’ve scared off anyone else, she just tilted her head and chuckled.
"Whatcha looking at, Dragonboy?" she arched an amused brow.
Halt. He knew those words. He’d spent years scrunching his nose at the last one, and almost all his life dreading the moment he heard the whole sentence aloud. His mind went blank. No thoughts, just the girl in front of him and a tingling feeling on his hip. A feeling that slowly spread all over his body, making him feel warm and stupidly fuzzy. But Draken realized he didn’t hate it as he thought he would, he wasn’t worried about anything. What was he so worried about in the first place?
"I’m really hoping you don’t work here," he blurted, chuckling when she widened her eyes "Yeah, same. Nice to meet you, soulmate."
"What about you, are you looking for a distraction here?" she crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes.
"W-What? No! No I uh- I live here," he stumbled over his words, suddenly embarrassed.
He blushed when she laughed loudly. He liked it.
"Relax Dragonboy, I’m messing with ya!" she kept laughing "I know you live here. My sister works here, I’ve actually seen you around a couple times. Never thought the vice president of a gang would be my other half," she slowly approached him, and Draken wondered if that was how others felt when he neared. Like a prey being hunted down "I’m not disappointed though," she wolfishly smirked.
"Have you stalked me or something?" he bored, playing along with his own smirk.
"Oh please, don’t give yourself so much importance. Like I said, I’ve been over here a couple of times before, and I’ve seen you around. And the Tokyo Manji Gang isn’t exactly invisible or secret if you know what I mean," she stopped right in front of him "Besides, you’re wearing your uniform right now."
Right. Totally forgot about the tiny meeting they’d had. Ken breathed a chuckle again, shaking his head and looking directly into her eyes.
"I’m Ryuguji Ken. People call me Draken."
"L/n Y/n. People call me Y/n, but you can call me yours," she winked.
"That was horrible," he snorted.
"Was it? Would meat buns make up for it?"
Draken blinked. Was she serious? It was at least three in the morning. But before he could deny, she was already walking outside the place and turning around at the door.
"Is that a no? I really have nothing to do right now, I think my sister has until five with that client she’s with right now. So unless you have something pending, which I totally understand... I’m hungry."
"What the hell," he shrugged "You better be paying, dumbass."
"Great, I got myself a mean soulmate," she rolled her eyes, but hesitantly reached for his hand nonetheless.
For the rest of the night, the two wandered around the streets of Tokyo, lights illuminating their forms and hands busy with food on one side and each other’s hand on the other. They talked and joked, they got to know each other, and by the time it was five, only two hours had passed, but to them, it felt like a whole lifetime. Y/n rested her head on Draken’s upper arm, the golden rays starting to decor her features.
"You know, if you being in a gang really worries you that much," she yawned, shifting to look at him "My dad has a dojo. I’ve been training in martial arts since I was five. So don’t worry your pretty head, Dragonboy."
Draken laughed. He really was worrying about nothing.

From anon's request: "How would the boys react to see the reader appeared out of no where in the lair. Like there is a portal that open in the middle of the lair and the reader get out of it. They don’t know the reader before. How would they react? You can do separately or all together I don’t mind."
A/N: It got too long, but hope you like it! If you find any mistakes in the paragraphs or do not understand something, feel free to tell me.
They/them pronouns used!
The Guest
It's just another random day in the underground. Eletronic sounds from improvised machines coming from Donnie's computer station, splashing of the waterfall in the enormous main space and a Hip Hop song echoing around, filling the light dump air of the air.
Leo sat on the edge of the platform where he is used to train, a heavy breathe leaving his mouth, exausted by an intensive training session he just had; several drops of sweat slide over his muscled and hot body, clothing showing dark stains here and there as outcome of his effort. But he was satisfied by his well-conclued work. The leader takes a look around to see what is currently happening in his home, as always. Donnie isn't at his computer station or neither his lab. Well, the genius must be doing who knows what somewhere. Leonardo ran his eyes around carefully to find his purple-clad brother and Bingo! Donnie is lying down, using his tablet, on his improvised bed in the giant pipe hole with purple neon wire making a circle around the edge. Rising the corner of his mouth by the view, Leo watched around again to look for his two troublemakers brothers, but couldn't find any of them. Meybe they are distrubing each other somewhere.
Sighing, Leonardo stands and jumped off the platform, walking towards the kitchen area to take a glass of water.
''Eat Me'' red neon sign above the kitchen makes him think of inappropiate things; of course, he tried to change Mikey's mind when the young brother choose it as decoration, but there was nothing the leader could do. Leo is not gonna lie, that sign suits a lot with the kitchen...
Shaking his head to wash the naughty thoughts away and opening the high cabinet door, he picks his favourite blue glass and headed to the fridge. Opening the door he ran his eyes through the small cold space and found the jar water. After pouring the cold liquid into the blue glass, he let's out a relief sigh as brings it to his mouth, finally swallowing the fresh liquid down his throat. His muscles are exausted to continue the intense training, so the blue-clad turtle decided to take a break.
Suddenly a light beam emerged from behind him.
''What the-''
Boom!
The whole lair vibrated.
He was threw against the cabinets by the shock wave. Groaning, Leo rubs behind his neck; a pair of blue ocean eyes scanned towards to where the defeaning sound came from and saw that there's a thick and dark gray fume hovering in the middle of the big space, spreading around.
"Donnie! You must be careful with your stuff!'' Leo yelled, thinking that this explosion was caused by one of Donnie's inventions.
''It wasn't me, Leo!'' Donnie protested, running beside his brother, who is already in the local of the explosion, trying so hard to see what was demaged.
''What happened?!'' Raphael shouted from a distance with Mikey walking right behind him.
Master Splinter came out of the dojo and gasped while watches the unexpected situation ''Leonardo!'' the old rat called ''Explain what just happaned here. Is everyone okay?''.
''Yes, we are, master. But I don't understand the cause of the explosion. It was so fast.''
''Do not worry, my son. The importand is that no one got hurted.''
Leo sighed relived, placing his hands on each side of his hips and just kept stand there a few seconds, watching everybody disappearing into the dense fume. The brothers walk carefully through it to find a reason of the explosin. But all they can see is the concrete ground was covered with a dark dust, for now.
Then...
Raph gasped when see a silhouette a few steps away from him, the arduous smoke difficulting his view.
The silhouette was crouched, its head lowered between its knees, and arms crossed around its body. Raph grabs his both sais and positioned them beside him, ready for the action. He slowly takes steps towards the stranger, being careful to not scare the unexpected guest.
He knew it is not Splinter because that shape is human.
As he aproaches to the mysterious form, Raph noticed that it is a person. ''What ta hell...'' he whispered. ''Hey!'' He called, but you didn't response, keeping your head down between your knees. "Hey!'' Raph called again, but has received no response yet. The brute's yell called the others attention who went quicly beside him, and got surpried by your presence.
''Who is this person?'' Mikey asked, in shock.
''I don't know.'' Leo said as take a few steps closer to you, his eyes watching you form carefully.
Donnie took a few steps foward as well, and pulled his googles down to scan you and adjusted some annulus to have a better view of your vital signals, and kneeled in front of you. ''Hey'' he called, but you kept your head lowered.
The boys looked at each other, not knowing what to do.
You're so afraid to lift your eyes to see what is happening or where you got. You knew that you're being watched by someone, but a discomfort high-pitched sound disturbs your ears, preventing you to hear them.
Donnie lift his hand and with all careful of the world he touches your shoulder.
You quickly rise your head, and shut your eyes open wide.
Gasping, your breathe got faster as you watch a big humanoid green creature a few inches away right in front of you. Without thinking twice you dragged yourself away from the weird creature who stands quickly and lift his hands in front of him as a peace sign. You could see that it is like a human, but with a green skin and so fucking tall; military green cargo pants, a pair of big boots, suspenders around his... plated chest, and that scary thing he's using above his eyes, or are those literally his eyes?!
"WFT?!" You thought.
"Hey, hey, It's okay!" The purple-clad terrapin said, but all you could see is his mouth moving.
You quickly moved your weak body away from him, but something hits your back, preventing you from escape. Slowly your eyes looked back and chills ran down your spine. A pair of sandals in a feet with two big fingers? Your eyes followed up slowly and saw that it is another creature, but this time it is using black pants over his thighs, something you couldn't describe over his lower legs and nothing on upper body. And... Is it wearing a blue cloth around his eyes?
But, out of all of it, you got surprised of how massive these things are. Where have you arrived? And what kind of aliens are they? Wait, they are aliens, right?
"Hey, it's okay. We're not gonna hurt you" Leo said with a comfort voice but you can't hear a single word from him.
You tried to get up and run away but your legs failed, bringing you to the ground. And an excruciating pain started to roll through your legs, making you groan violently.
"Wow, easy!" Donnie shouted "Leo, they're legs are injured! Keep them on the ground or they will hurt themselves even more!".
"Raph, with me!" Leo ordered but his brother didn't even moved; Raph just crossed his arms and shift his wheight from a leg to another. Leo studied your body language, he knew that if he holds you by your legs he would cause more pain on you, so he made a decision to hold you by your arms.
''Hey, hey. Easy'' he tried to grabs your arms but you fought with all your strength to shove his three-fingered hands away. Donnie noticed that Raph doesn't want to collaborate and groaned, walking towards you and kneeling.
Mikey joined his brothers and could finally grabs your arms and laying you down on your back on the ground. Even with a hell of pain you're feeling you moved your legs to kick your immobilizer but the pain hits you so hard, making you're scream.
''We need to calm them down!" Donnie warned.
''And how we're supose to do it? They're freaking out!'' Mikey said, holding you against the ground while Leo keeps his hands on your hips to keep you immobilized.
Donnie has no choice but talk to you.
''Hey'' he carefully lands his hand agaisnt your forehead to call your attention ''I know that you're scared and that you're not understanding what is happening, but you need to calm down''.
You eyes locked with his amber ones.
''Calm down...'' he repeated ''What's your name?''
You didn't get his words and made a question expression, shaking your head from a side to another as a negative response.
''Um... Do you have a name?'' Donnie asked, and quirked a brow ridge.
''I think they're not hearing ya'' Raph opined from behind ''They didn't answer my call when I called them twice in front of them'' Raph continued, shrugging.
''Really?'' Donnie looked back at his red-banded brother.
''Yeah''
That's make sense...
Donnie payied back his attention on you. How will he comunicate with you now?
Unless...
''Can. You. Hear. Me?'' he asked slowly, making sure that his lips are moving for you understand perfectly. Of course, none of them knows language signal, so moving his lips slowly is the only way to make a communication with you. He could see your eyes locked on his lips while he talks, reading carefully each words formed.
You look back at his eyes and nod negatively.
''Oh no...'' Leo murmured.
''Are they deaf?'' Mikey asked.
''I fear...'' Donnie answered, then sighed ''But I'm relieved that they can understand lip reading. Raph" He called, looking back at his brother who was just stand behind him watching you with caution "Can you bring a pen and a paper, or whatever the thing I can write down?"
''Okay." Raph nodded, making a scary and intimidating face without breaking eye contact with you. You knew that the red-clad creature has something negative about you. His deadly stare says everything.
''Hey...'' Donnie called your attention back, and repeated the same exercise as he did to communicate with you ''Keep. Calm. We. Will. Release. You."
You nodded positively.
The boys slowly take their hands off you, waiting if in case you do another resistance or an escape attempt, but you kept layied there, calm.
''I'll need you guys to help me to take them to a confortable place'' Donnie said ''Mikey, I need you to pick them on bridal style. It's the only way to carry them''.
''But how about their legs?'' the young brother questioned, worried about hurting you by accident.
''I guess it will hurt them a bit but... It's the only way. If you lift them just by their arms, they will try to stand instinctively, and it would make them suffer even more''.
"What kind of injury they have on their legs, my son?" Splinter questioned, emerging and walking beside his taller son.
Your eyes went wide.
A GIANT RAT?!
"I scanned their legs and I found out that they have some brusies and their muscles are demaged. I'm surprised the bones weren't broken." Donnie continued "I'm gonna care their injuries and soon they will walk again. But... I'm not sure when they will be healed a hundred per cent.''
The boys stood around you a minute watching you lay on the ground, thinking and speaking between them about what they must do to help you. And you took it as opportunity to study more carefully their forms. Green skin with scales here and there, tonic muscles on their arms and legs. "Holly fuck shit" you tryied to whisper but your voice cracked, indicating that your vocal chords are very weak as much as your body. For sure that traveling through the portal was pretty bad for you.
Your eyes studied them again and you rise an eyebrow. They're wearing backpacks. Wait, those are not backpacks... are... Shells... Shells?! And why are they're wearing colourful clothes around their eyes? Are they criminals or something?!
Your eyes caught the purple clad creature kneeling beside you again. You are sure that he said something like "alright". He lift his three-fingered hand, approaching it closer to your face and you couldn't help but refuse his touch shifting your head away making Mikey and Leo kneel to hold you still, but this time not too hard as before.
Donnie touches your cheek and sotfly turn your face towards his. "Easy... We. Want. To. Help. You". Then he shares a soft smile.
You have no idea what or who they are, but you knew that whatever they're planning, is for help you. Is for your own healthy and safety. At least, if these massive creatures wanted to harm you, they would have already done it, but all they have done is being careful with you; taking care of you.
You smiled back.
Donnie lets out a heavy breathe, then glanced at Mikey and nodded. Leo stood aside to give his younger brother space enough to adjust himself beside you and pick you up. You quickly turned your eyes back at the purple-clad creature like asking him to tell you what his friend will do.
He just nodded positively, smiling.
Leo positioned himself on your another side to help Mikey, taking care to lift your upper body first. Mikey reached to support your body, placing his arm behind you. And now, the most difficult part: your injured legs. ''I'm sorry if you feel pain. You have to be strong as possible.'' Mikey murmured. But before they could work on your legs, Donnie raised his hand to call their attention and soft landed it on your knee. A soft groan left your mouth but you thanked that your knees were just a bit ached ''Wait! Let's do it one step at time. After I count three, lift them fast. Ready?'' Leo and Mikey give a firm nod. ''Alright. One.'' You read his lips, and asked to yourself why he was counting. ''Two''. Your eyes lower to take a look on your legs, and saw that they're with their hands positioned like would pick you up on bridal style. Wait... Your heart beats faster. Donnie noticed that you are staring at him with wide eyes and shaking your head from a side to another desperately, but there's nothing he could do. ''Three!''
You screamed; a heavy wave of pain ran through your weak legs like a hundred knives were penetrating your meat violently. You threw your head back, your mouth open while agonizing sounds go out; it is hard even to breathe.
''Take them to the sofa. Now!'' Donnie ordered.
Mikey quickly headed towards the .... He has to admit that hearing your protesting painfully in his arms breaks his heart. Never in his life he heard someone scream like you're doing right now.
"Here..." Leo directed, adjusting the soft sheet to lay you down and a sofa pillow to support your head. Mikey bent over to place you carefully on the sofa with Donnie holding your head. "Be careful." Leo commented. It hurt a bit when your legs were landed on two pillows, but as fast as the pain started, it ended.
Finally you can inhale oxygen after a whole minute of suffocate.
"I'll grab a medicine to lower their pain. It will get them tiredness but will worth" Donnie said, turning and heading towards his lab.
Leo and Mikey positioned themselves beside you, his eyes watching over every single movement you do. You kinda felt uncomfortable with them looking at you all the time; feeling totally vulnerable under their care, but you knew that what are they're doing is for you own good.
Your eyes caught another massive form coming closer and your bones started to shiver again. The red-cladded humanoid creature is back but this time he was holding pen and a notebook.
"Hey, guys. This is all I could find at the moment" Raph said while look at the stuff he just took, then his scary stare locked on you.
Your blood freeze.
"Thanks, Raph." The leader grabs the stuff and sat on the ground right beside you. He positioned the pen between his big fingers and the notebook on his lap, and his eyes landed on yours. You couldn't help but appreciate to utmost of how beautiful his eyes are. A deep and vividly color of blue. They're like a painting... You shook your head and looked to opposite side, hiding your blush.
"They shook their head. Why? We didn't make any questions." Mikey said.
"I don't know, but let's find out" Leo continued, writing down "Are you okay?". Finishing, he reaches out his hand and gently touches your shoulder making you snap your eyes back at his. Then Leo lifts the notebook to show you the question.
You read it and shake your hand as "So so" then pointed at your legs.
Leo nodded back, understanding your message, then placed the notebook on his lap again and wrote "My brother will take care of your injuries and certificate that you'll be okay and we will help. Don't be afraid". You read it and show a positive thumb. Leo replaced the notebook back and wrote "I'll introduce us to you". You show a positive thumb again. Then Leo wrote all their names down and lifted it to you."Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, and our father, Master Splinter".
Leo got up and started to introduce them. He pointed at his name and then at him. Then he pointed at Donnie's name and then pointed towards the lab where Donnie is preparing his medical kit. Then Leo pointed at Mickey's name and then at his brother beside him. The young turtle waved, grinning. "So cute" you thought, waving back. Then Leo pointed at Raph's name and at him, an the brute just crossed his arms. "He's kinda... Rude..." You thought again. Then Leo pointed at Splinter's name and then at him who is a few steps away from you. "Wait. Father? Father? Is he they're father?!" You practically yelled mentally. Your mind was filled with many questions about this impossibility of this giant rat be father, or he must be their adoptive father. You prayed to the second option be the true.
You were brought back to reality with another soft hudge on your shoulder, making you look back at his deep blue eyes. The blue-cladded turtle took a deep breathe and made a worry face; and lift the notebook with the next phrase: "We are mutant turtles."
Your eyes went wide. Mutants? How? Since when it is possible? The boys looked at each other already expecting your shock. What kind of place you just arrived where there're mutants?! The mutants made a fear expression, waiting for your scream. But no sound has come out from your mouth.
You just got froze.
''Won't they scream?'' Raph asked, quirking a brow ridge.
''They got shocked'' Mikey simply commented.
Leo sighed and wrote down another sentence. 'Just keep calm. I'll explain everything when you get well soon". You made an effort to nod.
After a few minutes, Donnie went back holding a first aid kit under one of his his slim but muscular arms, a medicine pack between his thick fingers and a bottle of water. Leo and Mikey took a step back to give their brother some space to work on you. First of all, Donatello shows you the medicine pack, holding it in front of you; he looked at Leo and asked for the notebook and the pen, picking it. Your eyes watched every single move he does and you got the conclusion that this mutant has quick skills and much attention in his work, murmuring who knows what while work on you. "Interesting", you thought.
After finish writing, Donnie lift the notebook. "I'll give you a medicine for your pain, but it will make you tired because it has some substances which cause tiredness. If you feel some uncomfortable symptoms, warn me". You immediately rised a positive thumb. You had taken some medicines with that description many times in your life, so you're kind of used with it. But the bad news is that it makes you fall asleep quickly, a scary idea in your opinion. You have no clue what these mutants would do when you're sleeping; if they would do dirty things or something or whatever the shit you refuse to think. You pray, at least, for these mutants do not do disrespectful things.
Donnie picks a pill from the pack and gave it to you, then the bottle of water. All the five mutants are literally watching you doing it, and it made you uncomfortable. You're not used to many people staring at you like that.
After taking the medicine, Donnie mentioned to you lay down again. The nerd placed the first aid kit on the ground and open it, his hands moving some stuff away again and again, his eyes scanning the stuff in the box. What is he looking for, exactly?
Suddenly your eyes caught his facial expression turning from serious to happy. Well, what did he just find to make him smile? The other mutants—except the red one—grinned. "Why the fuck are they grinning?" You thought. Donnie returned his attention to you with his grin. Okay, you don't know if his smile is a good sign or a naughty sign.
Then you started to feel your eyes heavy.
"Fuck... Now now..." You murmued, feeling a weariness filling your body. You hate when this medicine effect affect you rapdly, and you can't fight back.
"Hey, did they say something? I swear I heard that" Mikey commented.
"Well, they can speak by the way" Raph mocks.
Slowly your vision got blur, and the last thing you remember is they debating with each other, then the darkness pulls you for a long rest.
——————Time Skip——————
The light fills the darkness of your sleepy world like a white spot growing and consuming every single space of the dark. You are not sure how much time you slept, but at least all of it was merely dream and those creatures were just an invention of your mind.
Opening up your eyes slowly, you expected to wake up in your bedroom, but, even with your vision blurring and get used by the ambient light, the place seems totally different of your comfortable bedroom. Damp walls, two thick pipes in a corner a thin one on another, and neon lights a few steps away from where you are layied down. As you can feel, it is a comfortable bed. Groaning softly you turned your head to the space illuminated by the neon flashing lights, seeing a shell with a big backpack facing you. Immediately you recognized him.
It was not a dream.
You hear quick types on a keyboard, noticing that this mutant turtle is using his... computers? He was typing who knows what about something you have no idea, and you got surprised how fast this turtle can do it. He might be a guy of technology, you presume.
Wait. Wait...
If you can hear him working, that's mean your hearing came back to normal! You let out a happy sigh, making the genius turn his head towards you. "Oh, you're awake!" He said grinning, but palmed his face remembering that you can't listen to him. The tall purple clad terrapin takes his skateboard and rolled it beside you and sat down. ''How. Are. You. Feeling?'' he asked; you couldn't help but share a soft smile and say with a weak voice ''I'm good... And I can hear you now.''
His jaw dropped, eyes going wide.
''Hey... Are you... okay?'' you asked quietly with the corner of your mouth rised.
''Oh! I'm- Yeah. I'm-'' he rubs his hand behind his neck ''I'm glad you're okay'' he murmured, sharing a shy smile. What is going on here? You started to think that the air got ''tensed'' sunddely between you. Is it good?
''So...'' Donnie started ''About your physical condition, you're getting better. The muscles of your legs are healing and your wounds are cicatrizing. The rest you've just taken helped you a lot.'' he continued ''Uh... I almost forgot: what's your name?''
''Y/N.''
''Amazing.'' he lower his head, trying to not show a light blush over his cheeks which you already noticed. ''So, uh... Who are you, where did you come from and how did you get here?'' he asked quicly without concerns, locking his amber eyes on yours again. Okay, that was expected but too fast as he did. You looked away from his gaze, fearing your answers would not convice or be plausibles for the situation. Well, there's no way out.
''You... will not believe me if I answer honestly'' you said with weak tone.
Donatello cocked his head to the side, quirking his brow ridges.
''I am from another... I don't know...'' you answered, sighing ''Also I don't remember exactly how I got into that portal-''
''Portal?'' He questioned.
''Yes. I do not remember how or who exactly put me in that portal, but all I can remember is of the explosion when that thing closed and then... an uncomfortable sound filled my ears and a sudden ache consumed my legs''.
''Oh, yeah. I noticed it too''.
You started to feel a little shame by your overreact you had when the boys tryied to help you; and you regret ''Sorry for my bad behaving. I was very scared...''
''Hey, there's no need to apologize. You were just shocked and didn't have time to think. It's totally okay.'' Donnie knew that going through a portal and end up in another place is odd and unconfortable, so he and his brothers will do everything to make you feel safe before find out a way to take you home. The nerdy shares a smile and comes closer to you, pulling his googles above his eyes to scan your vital signs. Your eyes went wide. That thing scared you when you saw it for the first time!
''Did you make these?'' you pointed at his goggles.
''Oh yeah! I did it all my own'' he said proundly.
You gliggled ''Amazing! But it scared the hell out of me when I saw it for the first time. I thought it were your eyes or something.''
Donnie chuckeld of your observation, which you're not wrong. ''Sorry, was not my intention. You're not the only one who got scared of my briliant creation.'' he grinned, adjusting some of his goggles annulus here and there, then actived his hologram from his watch and typed on it. You got surprised with his advanced technology, never in your life you have seen something like that. Which year are you?! A distant future?
Are these mutants evolued humans or hybrids?!
''Are you still hearing that unconfortable noise?''
You woke up from your thoughts ''What?''
''That noise you said about. Can you describe how it sounded?'' he asked without leave his attention from his screen.
''Um... it was like... uh... high-pitched sound.''
Donnie noded, still typing on his screen. You're just sit there watching him working on his whatever the thing it is, his three-fingered hand moving and shifting above the screen. ''I guess you got a temporary deaf by the reason of explosion, and I am surprised that it just gave you temporary damages. I thought your eardrums would suffer a rupture and your bones break... Well... I'm glad that you're okay now.''
You beamed timidly ''All thanks to you and your brothers''. It's just you or his cheeks are being filled with a dark colour? "So... before answer your questions, can I ask where am I? Is this place another dimension or something?''
Donnie's locked his eyes on you, not expecting this question ''What? Uh, no... Why? Are you from another dimension?''
You shrugged ''I donno. Where I came from is Earth. It's all can describe to you.
''Oh! Well, you can still keep calm because you're still on Earth''. He smiled playfulness.
You sigh relieved; thankfully you weren't thrown out of your planet. ''And... where exactly am I?...''
''New York City, USA. Technically under it; you're in mine and my family's home in the sewers''.
You froze. New York? Underground? Sewers? ''You got be kidden me...",
''No, I'm not. And... how about you?''
''Originally I'm from (your hometown). But... I just remember being kidnap and then... Everything went dark. The last thing I remember is flashbacks of some men putting me in that portal. Why did they do it? I don't know.'' you shrugged.
Donnie noded again, his head filled with several hypothesis about your weird past event. "And these men... what kind of clothing they were wearing?" he asked, rubbing his chin.
"Uh..." You made a question expression, not getting what does he want to know about something so random. But who are you to refuse to answer? This turtle must know something you don't. "There were some people wearing different kind of clothing. I remember some wearing white coats—like doctors—and... Others in black. All black. Even their masks...''
''Masks?''
''Yes.''
Donnie's eyes went wide. He knows exactly who wear dark clothing as in your description. Foot Clan. He stood and walked towards the exit over quick steps.
''Where're you going?''
''I'll be right back. Stay where you are, okay? Don't you dare escape.'' he pointed at you and then left, leaving you totally alone in his lab. What is he planning, by the way? Perhaps he has some knowledge about those people you have seen? Well, by his sudden shock react, he surely know.
After a few minutes, Donatello has arrived in his lab and going to where you both had a conversation. And he was not alone.
''So... what's the news?'' Mikey shares a cocky smile, picking a chair and sitting on the oposite of ot, keeping the back of this object in front of his plastron and landing his arms above the top rail. Leonardo stood right beside you and Raph a few steps away from your bed, arms crossed and looking at you with no interest, and the giant rat stood beside Mikey, who glanced at his father still with the cocky smile on his face then back at you.
"So, Y/N. Can you explain everything you know for us? We just want to help you, nothing otherwise." Leo assured, but quick steps has approached him and a sudden punch on his arm made him groan. "Help them?" Raph protested "We don't even know who they are or if they work for someone that is not by our side!". Splinter quickly acted, beating his tail behind Raphael's legs to stop "Enough! Let them speak. We will just know if they tell their story.", "But Master, if they lie?!" The brute threw his arms up in protest, but Splinter just shares an intimidating look, making his red-clad son shut up and take a step back. "I apologize, my young one. You can go ahead with your version of your story."
You took a deep breath, feeling a bit uncomfortable for being watched and sorrawnded by five mutants, but actually you don't care. They seem to be good guys—except for the hot head one. For a while, you told every single detail you remember; since your kidnapping till your arriving in this place, the people who put you in that portal, your hometown. It's so weird that all of it happened so fast which you couldn't believe that it took a while—maybe because you were put to sleep as that people did everything they want to you.
The mutants looked at each other, expressions like surprise, shock, suspicious, doubt traveled through each one. You're afraid of they all think that you're lying, well, the red one is already thinking, of course. But how about the others?
"I might think that people in black are members of Foot Clan..." Leo commented after a moment "And the people in white might be scientists. Helpers of-".
"Baxter Stockman." Donnie finished.
''You gotta be kidding me...'' you murmured, surprise that this dangerous clan are in the same universe with them. You thought you got in another dimension or wherever but you literally were transported to another place, just it. And you lived your entire life without know the existence of these mutants. You want to freak out.
''And why would those people put Y/N in that portal?'' Mikey asked ''Like, just them! Were... were you alone when you were transported, right?'' the youngest looked at you with concerns.
''Yes! As I remember, yes...''
"Well..." Leo started "From now on we have a hard work to do. Y/N, you are under our care, and you have to stay down here with us. It's for your protection".
"What?! But-"
Master Splinter takes a step forward and place one of his hands on your shoulder, looking deep into your eyes "You have no choice, my dear. But there's no need to be worry" he smiled "While you're with us, no dangerous will happen to you" then the old rat glanced at Raphael, who groaned and sighed, getting Splinter's message.
You have to be prepared for all obstacles that are coming, and you're thankful that these mutants are by your side. As Leo said before, there's hard work to execute, dangerous or not.

Oh, Loverboy: Part 6 (everyone x everyone, Star x Fem!reader centric)
<- Previous Chapter Next Chapter ->
Warnings: slight angst, cursing, blood, gore
Word Count: 1.7k
Tumblr media
You draped yourself over Michael like a spell of protection, resting your head on his shoulder and sitting besides him on the step. The boys had attempted to give him some bullshit about "if you want to see Star again" and you'd scoffed. Since when was David in charge of that? You and Michael had moved further down to the stairs, and you were holding his hand and ignoring the gang of bikers.
You knew that the boys were hazing him. They were stupid boys, that did stupid things like that. And you really didn't understand how David expected to get laid after Michael muttered what had happened in the last few nights.
"They made you jump off a bridge?" You asked, your voice reaching a higher pitch even if you tried to keep it low. You looked over at the boys, your glare sharp enough to make them bleed. You were livid. Perhaps it was your developing crush, or just the fact that Star liked him, but, either way, you couldn't believe them. If he hadn't drank from the bottle, you were almost sure they would've let him fall. Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference.
You knew the boys could be jealous shits sometimes. Never with eachother, their own bonds were too strong for that, but outsiders? Unknowns? Especially ones as handsome as Michael? And especially ones that seemed to catch both your and Stars attention? You knew that this was probably some stupid masculinity thing. A stupid jealousy thing. Or maybe they were just assholes, plain and simple. Regardless of the reason, you were furious. For Michael, for Star, for yourself.
"They- they didn't make me-" Your glare had flicked to Michael and he, at least, had the sense to shut up. He gave your hand a squeeze, and tried again. "You don't- You don't need to be mad at them. I can handle myself." He said, and you stared at him. Your mind was a flurry of thoughts, and you immediately blamed the way he was acting on a stupid masculinity thing as well. It was obvious that he couldn't handle himself. He'd drank from a bottle, willingly jumped off a bridge, and who knows what he would've done tonight if the boys had had the chance to goad him into it. He was too easily swayed, wanted to fit in too much. He didn't know when to take a stand, when to- You paused for a moment, your eyes glancing up when you felt a cold hand tickle the back of your neck. You glared daggers into a new pair of blue eyes. Oh, they were definitely planning something.
David wouldn't have walked over himself. You were too mad at him for that. Marko, well, he was David's lapdog at the best of times. Sending him over would've been too obvious. And Dwayne? Dwayne would've meant they were desperate, and it definitely would've raised some alarms. But Paul?
Paul could talk his way out of anything. You'd found that out multiple times. You couldn't stay mad at him long, even if you wanted to. There was something about that stupid smile of his. Or maybe it was the fact that he looked like he didn't have a thought going on in his head. How could he have ulterior motives if he couldn't think of any? But you knew that was all a facade. Sure, he was a dumbass, but he wasn't stupid. You didn't ease up your glare when he took up your other side, and you watched as he pulled out a self-rolled cigarette. He was quick to light it, before offering you a smoke. You stared. You wanted him to get to the point, and you watched as he whistled lowly at the rejection.
"Someone's mad." He said, his voice light and teasing. Truly, you weren't in the mood. You stared at him harder, and you watched as he slapped his hands down onto his thighs. "Babe! C'mon, just-" He looked around, as if someone would help him, before he reached to scratch his neck. He was thinking, you could tell. Finally, he moved to wrap an arm around your shoulders.  "Just lighten up! We were just messing with him, alright? And, he's a champ, right?" He said, and you watched as he leaned over to hit Michaels knee. You glanced at Michael to see him nodding along, and you almost wanted to sigh at how quick he was to try to get approval from Paul of all people. Really, you were gonna have to have a talk with him about self confidence. "We just wanna go do boy stuff with him, okay? Cause he's like- He blew us all off yesterday and then spends the night with you guys. David only said all that stuff 'cause he thinks Mikey just wants to hang out with you and Star." And you stared at him. You clicked your jaw, looking between his eyes. It was hard to tell a lie from the truth with the blonde. "We were hurtin' real bad, babe. Just, y'know, letting our anger get the best of us. Honest." He said, and you watched as he placed a hand over his heart.
Part of you wanted to believe that he was completely full of shit. The other wanted to believe that perhaps he was telling the truth. You stared at him for a moment, playing with Michaels hand in your lap. Either way, you were hesitant to let Michael go with them.
"Well, where's Star then? I don't wanna be here all by myself." You said, but, really, you were looking for any excuse to keep them from taking him. Paul gave you a grin that told you he knew the answer.
"She's back at the cave taking care of Laddie." He said, and you frowned just the tiniest bit. So, she wasn't on the boardwalk. It made sense. With how many times you and Michael had gone down the boardwalk, you would've been pissed if you'd just missed her. You glanced back at Michael, missing the glance that Paul sent David. After a moment, Paul said, "Y'know, you could come with us. I'm sure David wouldn't mind." And you frowned at the idea. You wanted to go with them as much as you wanted to be a wet blanket.
"Pass." You said. You'd end up spending the entire time worrying about Michael or you'd probably end up getting spitroasted. While the second option didn't sound so bad, you wanted to introduce polyamory to Michael slowly. And the boys weren't exactly the best with that. You simply sighed as you ran a hand through your hair, deciding that you'd head back to spend the night with your girlfriend. Just before a thought occurred to you. "What are you guys doing tonight anyways? More bridges?" You snarked, and you watched as Paul leaned back with a grin. He said, as casual as could be,
"Nah. Just getting something to eat." And, from the look in his eye, you knew that you weren't going to be ditching them like you originally planned.
***
"Well, that went like shit." You said, kicking one of the branches and wrapping your arms around yourself. Michael had rejected the five of you, rejected your way of life. He'd seen you kill, seen you feed. He'd done exactly what Star had done. Well, kind of. He'd refrained from the smell, rejected his instincts. It made you frown, and you had the mind to wipe the blood off your face as you wondered about what made them different.
At least Star accepted that she'd have to do it eventually. If she wanted to stay with you, that is. She hadn't run away into the night. She'd come with you, back to the cave, and spent the night with you. You'd told her everything about it. How it felt, how it made you feel. How it eased with time. You were sure that if Michael had just listened, that if David wasn't so intent on scaring him, that you could've gotten him to do the same. Still, he was gone, and he didn't take the feelings clenching around your heart with him. The bubbling of hurt and betrayal. You could feel tears pricking your eyes, and, just like the blood, you tried in vain to wipe them away. You felt a hand on your shoulder and you quickly shook it off. You snapped, like a twig with too much weight on it.
"This is your fault!" You yelled at none of them in particular, and you turned to see that it had been David who'd tried to comfort you. But, in your rage, you didn't care. Things had been fine. Better than fine. Michael had liked you, and, less than an hour before, he'd been holding your hand and looking at you as if you were the most amazing thing he'd ever seen. Hell, he'd been looking at you like that ever since yesterday. But you'd seen how his eyes had changed. How they'd been filled with confusion, fear, and resentment. And now the eyes of your boys were filled with confusion and hurt. It made you pause, hesitate. Hell, you didn't even hesitate with a kill. "I'm- in sorry. I- I didn't-" You didn't know what you were going to say.
Before any of them could respond, your feet were off the ground. You were flying up high and fast, the night cloaking you in darkness and wind rushing against your skin. You didn't know where you were headed, but you needed to get away from them. You flew around aimlessly for a half hour before you realized you'd followed his scent all the way to the far side of Santa Carla, and towards a house in the middle of a green pasture of land.
You flew around the house, the only thing alerting your presence was the ring of a windchime. You followed his scent to what seemed to be a younger boys room, and said younger boy spotted you almost immediately.
"It's one of them!" He yelled. You thought that was as close to an invitation inside as you were going to get, and you intended on taking it.

Crush, Crush, Crush
Tumblr media
Summary: As if having one crush wasn’t complicated enough.
Word Count: 3.4k
And away and away we go!
__
Delilah let out a loud shriek, flinching away as an ice cold water bottle was pressed against the back of her neck. “Mikey!” she kept shrieking as the boy burst into a fit of giggles, pressing the bottle firmer against the girl’s neck, water droplets running down into the back of her shirt. “I’m gonna kill you!” she laughed, turning around.
Michael dropped the bottle and ran for his life, Delilah giving chase, their socked feet sliding around on the hardwood floors, both of them screaming wildly. As a last ditch effort to catch him, Delilah pushed off with her right foot, launching herself towards Michael’s back, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck, and his hooking under her legs so they wouldn’t fall.
“Um… wish I could say this usually doesn’t happen… But uh… that’d be a lie,” Calum’s voice sounded from in front of them and both Delilah and Michael snapped their heads to the sound, finding Calum, Luke, and a boy Delilah had yet to meet standing there.
“Didn’t know Mike had a girlfriend,” the boy said, rubbing at the back of his neck.
Delilah let out a high pitched giggle as she climbed off Michael’s back, who scoffed, “D’s not my girlfriend.”
“Oh,” the boy said, brightening slightly.
“Yeah, she’s actually my girlfriend. Mike, how could you?!” Calum cried with fake dramatics.
Delilah fake gagged. “Not even in your dreams, Hood,” she told him before focusing her attention on the boy whose name she still didn’t know. “I’m Delilah. And you are?”
“”M Ashton,” he smiled softly.
“Oh, the drummer!”
“Heh,” Ashton giggled nervously, a dimple indenting his cheek. “Yeah, that’d be me.”
“Cool!”
“Yeah, and now that we have a drummer, can we get our other guitarist, and practice?” Luke quipped.
Delilah rolled her eyes at the boy. “I guess you can borrow, Mike. But you owe me one, Hemmings.”
“Yeah, yeah. I know.”
As the group of five made their way into the living room, Michael nudged into Delilah, “Stop staring at Ash,” he teased, low enough so only she heard him.
“I am not staring,” she whispered back. “But if I was…?”
Michael chuckled, understanding her only the way he could. “Two grades above us. Different school. No girlfriend. Good drummer. Definitely sticking this out with us.”
“Fuck, that doesn’t help me not like him, Mike.”
Michael chuckled more. “Yeah, I know.”
~5 Years Later~
Ashton spotted Delilah and Michael already lounging in the sun, sighing internally. How was he ever supposed to think he stood a chance at having either of them, let alone make a move when those two were always joined at the hip? His phone pinged in his hand, and he hoped it was either Calum or Luke saying they were finding parking. Fortunately it was both Calum and Luke. Unfortunately it was both of them saying that something had come up, and they couldn’t make it. “Fuckin’ great…” Ashton muttered under his breath, trudging the last few feet across the sand towards Delilah and Michael. “Hey, guys.”
Both of them shielded the sun out of their eyes as they looked over at Ashton, bright smiles on their faces. “Oh, hey Ash!”
“Hey,” he repeated. “Um, did you see what Cal and Luke said?”
With frowns, they both looked at their own phones. “God damn it…” Michael groaned. “They do this all the time… They wanna hang out, and then they bail on us.”
Delilah shrugged. “Well fuck them. We don’t need them to have fun, do we?” With that, her fingers tugged up the hem of her shirt, to pull the fabric free from her body. “Can one of you help me get my back?” she asked, digging through her bag for a bottle of sunscreen.
Michael almost dropped the bottle, as Ashton gulped, both men sharing a glance. Taking the path of least resistance, they both shared the job of covering the woman’s back in shoulders, Delilah sighing in content as the way their fingers gently massaged her skin. “Thanks guys.”
“No problem…” they mumbled in a rush, their cheeks bright red.
“Um, I can do your guys’ backs if you want…” she suggested.
“Yeah! That’d be great!”
Delilah had to bite down on her lip as both men discarded their shirts, and all three of them took a small moment to clear their throats. “Um… Wanna help me with Mike first, ‘Lila? He might burn quicker than me…” Ashton all but squeaked.
“Good idea,” Delilah giggled, squirting the sunscreen in Ashton’s waiting hand, and then her own. She shared a covert smile with him as they started covering Michael’s back, their fingers knocking into the other’s.
When it was Delilah and Michael’s turn to get Ashton’s back, Ashton shuddered at the way his friends’ fingers carefully went over the tattoo on his neck, before moving to get the rest of his back and shoulders. “Fuck, that tickles,” he giggled airly. “Maybe you should think about getting a spray.”
“Aw, where’s the fun in that?” she started to flirt, then immediately felt bad at the way Michael’s face scrunched. “I don’t have a lot of faith in spray sunscreen. Every time I use it, I get burned,” she added quickly as an explanation.
After they finished applying the sunscreen to the rest of their exposed skin, Ashton glanced out towards the water. “Shall we?”
“Let’s go!” Delilah said, skipping off ahead of them.
“You should go for it,” Michael mumbled to Ashton as they walked together at a slower pace. “You and D… You’d uh… be cute together.”
“What? Pfft… Nah… You think?”
Michael shrugged. “I see the way you look at her. And if I trust anyone with her, it’d be you, ya know?”
“Thanks, Mike. That, um… means a lot. But, I don’t think she sees me that way. Pretty sure she’s into someone else.”
“Shit that blows…”
It was Ashton’s turn to shrug. “Eh, it’s alright. Can’t say I blame her. She has pretty good taste.”
“That she does,” Michael nodded.
~~~
“So, you ever gonna ask him out?” Delilah asked Michael as they sat on the shoreline, watching Ashton still out in the water.
“What do you mean?”
“What do you mean what do I mean? Ash! When are you gonna ask him out?”
“Uh… never? Cuz he doesn’t like me.”
Delilah snorted, “Yeah, okay. And I’m the Queen of England.”
Michael shook his head, then sighed. “I’m serious, D. Would it be great if Ash liked me the way I like him? Yeah. But that’s not reality.”
“How do you know?”
“Because he likes someone else.”
“Aw, fuck. Sorry, Mike.”
“S’alright. Can’t say I blame him.”
~~~
“You know,” Ashton said to Delilah as they waited for Michael to come back with food for them all. “With Mike, you might have to make the first move.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Oh, c’mon, ‘Lila. You know him better than anybody. You know how shy he can get with stuff like this. Be brave for the both of ya. Make the first move.”
“Waves knock you around a lil too hard there, Ash? You’re talking nonsense.”
“You’re really gonna sit there, and tell me you don’t like Mike?”
“Of course I like Mike. He’s my best friend. But it’s… complicated. There’s a lot of layers that I haven’t figured out. That I don’t think I ever will.”
“You’re telling me…” he muttered under his breath.
Michael approaching with food put an end to the conversation, all three friends sharing a tight lipped smile, more confused than they’d ever been.
~3 Years Later~
Delilah checked the time on her phone, sighing and feeling tears of frustration brim up in her eyes. She had been five minutes early to her date nearly an hour ago. She wasn’t sure which stung more: her messages asking where her date was being left on read, or the look of pity in the waitress’ eyes as Delilah ordered her third glass of wine.
So, rejected, a little tipsy, and unsure of what to do, she called the one person she knew she could always count on.
“Hey ‘Lila,” Ashton’s voice picked up on the second ring that had Delilah feeling even more flustered.
“Oh… H-hey Ash… S-sorry I didn’t mean to call you… um…” she fumbled over her words as she scrambled to hit the end call button.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Aren’t you supposed to be on a date? Are you alright? What’s going on?”
The weight of concern for her in his words was the breaking point. “I got stood up…” she whimpered, a tear rolling down her cheek.
“Okay. Sit tight. I’m coming.”
“Ash-”
“Shh, it’ll be alright. I’m already on my way.”
“You’re heading out?” Calum questioned as Ashton placed Michael’s phone down on the table.
“I have to.”
“No. Mike has to. She called Mike, Ash.”
Ashton narrowed his eyes pointing into the sound booth where Michael and Luke were laying down tracks. “He’s a lil busy at the moment, and she needs someone now. What am I supposed to do? Not go to her?”
“No, of course not. It’s Del. But… Ash, it’s not a secret that things are all a little complicated between you three. I don’t want to see you get hurt because you played hero to her when it was supposed to be Mike.”
“I’m not doing this to swoop in, and take Mike’s hero moment away from him, Cal. She’s my friend too. And she needs somebody. So you really think I’m gonna let you stop me?”
Calum raised his hands in surrender. “Look, I’m only trying to protect you from getting your heart crushed if this doesn’t match up to the fantasy in your head.”
“And I appreciate that. You know I do. But I got this, Cal. Promise.”
“Alright. Go on then, I’ll explain to them what happened when they’re done.”
“Thanks, Cal.”
“Yeah, yeah. Now get out of here already.”
Ashton made it to the restaurant in minutes flat, hitting the ground running. He muttered a few apologies and “excuse me”s as he weaved through the people in his way, before finally spotting Delilah staring dejectedly at her empty glass of wine. He steeled himself from the thoughts swirling in his head about how if this had been their date he’d never dare leave her waiting on him. That wasn’t a road he needed to go down right now. “Hey,” he said softly as he took the seat across from her.
She raised her eyes slowly to look over at him, a tearful smile coming to her lips. “Hey…” she whispered.
“C’mon. Let’s get you out of here.”
“I have to pay my bill… Shoulda stuck with water…”
“That’s alright,” he told her, flagging down a waitress. While Delilah got lost in her mind, Ashton settled the bill in hushed tones. “Okay. C’mon,” he said, resting a hand gently on top of hers to get her attention.
“The bill…” she repeated.
“It’s taken care of. C’mon.” He helped her up from her seat, taking off his jacket to drape it over her shoulders, his fingers brushing against her exposed skin.
“You wanna know something?” she asked numbly as they headed for his car.
“What’s that?”
“If I told you how many times I imagined you rushing in to save the day like this… well… your head would spin. And now that it’s real… my head’s spinning.”
“That might be the wine,” he chuckled lightly, opening the door for her. “And uh… I didn’t know you felt that way.”
“How do you not know? Everyone else does…” she sighed, relaxing against the leather of the seat.
“Everyone else knows what?”
“That I like you.”
In his shock, he closed the car door with more force than he meant to. When he got in on the driver’s side, she was giggling. “What?” he asked nervously.
“Well that was dramatic, she continued to giggle. “I like you, slam!”
“I- Wasn’t expecting it, that’s all. I thought you still liked Mike.”
Delilah sighed somewhat dreamily, and Ashton’s stomach churned. “Yeah. I like him too.”
“Yeah, I kinda gathered as much.  I mean… you did call him, not me. I was just the one who picked up. Still not sure why. I just saw your name and...”
“Had to?” she supplied the rest of his thought.
“Yeah. I mean, it’s you. I wasn’t going to not answer, even if it wasn’t my phone.”
“Just because I like Mike, doesn’t mean I can’t like you too, Ash.”
“Yeah, but it’s different kinds of like.”
“Says who?”
“Says the obvious. You two are the closest, you always have been. And look, I get it. I’m not mad. I get what you see in him, because I see it, too. I just also happen to wish sometimes you saw that in me, too.”
“I do! It’s…” she scrambled to find the words to finally lay this all out on the line.
“Complicated. I know. I remember.” The words came out bitter, and they both hated it. Delilah for not having the words to fix it, and Ashton for the crushed look in her eyes when she was already having a shitty night. He let out a slow sigh, collecting himself. “I’m sorry,” he apologized. “We shouldn’t be doing this right now. This is a conversation we can have at a different time. I should be taking you home.”
“No,” she pressed. “I want to have this conversation now. Ash… I like both of you. I’ve liked Mike my entire life, and I’ve liked you since the minute I met you. And… the reason I haven’t been brave enough to do something about it is because I also know that you two like each other. And… I like you guys too much as my friends to ruin the dynamic I guess? When I don’t choose, it’s only me who gets hurt. Because I’d rather have neither of you, than have one and the other feel jealous.”
“Oh… Damn… That adds a whole ‘nother layer to this, doesn’t it?”
“Yep… They don’t have books or movies for how to deal with love triangles like this… this is… uncharted territory.”
“Yep… Well fuck. If all three of us like each other, why don’t we all just date?” Ashton suggested.
“How would that dynamic work?”
“No idea. But, if anyone could figure it out, I’d bet it’d be us.”
“And if Mike doesn’t… Would you and me still…?”
“Yeah. I’d like that.”
“You don’t… feel like that makes us consolation prizes to each other? Like we can’t both have Mike, so we’re settling for each other?”
“Nothing about being with you is me settling for you, ‘Lila. I want you.”
“I want you, too.”
“And we just happen to also want Mike,” Ashton couldn’t help but giggle at the absurdity of it all.
“Do you think he wants us, too? I mean, I know he wants you. I just don’t know if he wants me.”
“Oh, he does. Trust me, he does. Anybody would be stupid not to.” Ashton let out his next breath slowly, running his hands through his hair. “Can I kiss you now?”
“Please,” she breathed, leaning across the center console towards him. He met her in the middle, his fingers gripping lightly on her chin to guide her lips to his, her own hands coming up to cradle his face. “Thanks for coming to get me,” she murmured as they broke the kiss.
“Of course,” he smiled softly. “You hungry?”
“Starving.”
Ashton giggled and started the car. “Alright, we’ll grab some food, and then I’ll take you home.”
“We should get something for Mike, too. He’ll have known by now that I called, and that you came to get me, so he’ll be waiting for us. Right?”
“If he’s done laying down tracks with Luke, yeah. That’s probably a safe bet.”
They fell silent, Delilah finally breaking the silence only after they had picked up food for themselves and Mike. “Hey, Ash?”
“Hmm?” he hummed, reaching out to lower the volume of the radio.
“Are you scared?”
“Terrified,” he nodded. “It’s uh… not every day you tell the girl, and the boy, you’ve been crushing on for years that you’ve been crushing on them for years, with the follow up being if it’s cool if you can all date each other.”
Delilah giggled, “God, this is fuckin’ crazy…”
“100% certifiably nuts,” Ashton giggled with her as he pulled into her driveway, next to Michael’s car and spotting the man waiting for them on the porch. Ashton shut off the car and turned to look at Delilah. “Ready?”
“God, no.”
“It’s Mike. He’s our best friend.”
“I know. But I’m still…”
“Scared? Yeah, me too. His hands grabbed hers, brushing soft kisses across her knuckles. “But I’ll be right here with you. C’mon,” he coaxed.
They left the security of the car, and walked up to where Michael was waiting. He rose slowly to his feet, eyes locking on Ashton and Delilah’s hands that were clasped together. “Oh… I see you two have uh… that’s great. Happy for you guys…” His gaze flickered over to the food bag in Delilah’s other hand. “And I’m intruding, so I’m gonna head out. Glad your night worked out.”
“Mike, wait,” Ashton said, reaching out to stop the younger man. “There’s something we wanted to talk to you about.”
“No offense to either of you right now, cuz I love this for you guys, I really do. But uh… I’m a little tired and hungry from the studio. I just stopped by cuz I saw you had called, D, and wanted to make sure you were okay. And you are. So um… can we save the ‘we’re dating’ conversation for tomorrow?”
Delilah shook the bag of food. “We picked you up something, too. Please, Mikey?”
~~~
“So… let me see if I got this right. In addition to crushing on each other, you both also have a crush on me?” Michael asked, after Ashton and Delilah brought him up to speed.
“Pretty much, yeah,” Delilah nodded, leaning forward to set the now empty take out food container on the coffee table.
Michael looked over at Ashton with a raised eyebrow, “How drunk is she?”
Ashton giggled, while Delilah gaped at Michael and gave him a small shove with an indignant “Hey! I’m not that drunk. Anymore…”
“Well fuck! So we’ve all just been crushing on each other, and swallowing our pride, so nobody gets their feelings hurt except ourselves?”
“Can’t leave out the stupidest part of how all of us at some point encouraged someone to make a move on someone else.”
“Fuck, no wonder Cal and Luke bail on so many plans with us… This shit is infuriating… But now that it’s all cleared up, what do we do? How does this… work exactly?”
“I don’t know… I have enough trouble figuring out how to date one person…” Ashton admitted, making the other two laugh in agreement. “But if anyone can figure it out, it’s us, yeah?”
“Exactly,” Delilah smiled at him, squeezing his hand reassuringly. “We’re all friends first. There isn’t anything we keep from each other.”
“Minus the crushes we all had on each other, that is,” Michael amended. Then, “So… have you guys kissed yet?”
“We did, yeah,” Ashton told him, with a sheepish grin.
“Fuckers…”
“Aw, poor baby,” Delilah teased, leaning towards Michael to press a kiss to his cheek. At the last possible second, Michael turned his head, so her lips locked onto his rather than the intended target of his cheek.
He sighed in content against her lips, tasting the barest traces of wine still leftover, sweet and savory. “Can’t begin to tell you how long I’ve been wanting to do that,” he murmured as they broke apart.
“Well, now you can do it whenever you want,” she smiled.
Ashton cleared his throat. “Still here.”
Michael’s cheeks flushed. “Right. Yeah… erm…”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Ashton groaned, hooking his fingers under Michael’s chin to get them to look at each other. “It’s a kiss, dumbass, not rocket science.”
“Calling your boyfriend a dumbass isn’t very nice of you,” Michael teased lightly.
Ashton shuddered as his lips crushed into Michael’s, “Fuck, say that again.”
“Boyfriend,” Michael grinned against Ashton’s mouth.
“My boyfriends,” Delilah beamed proudly at them.
“Our girlfriend,” they chorused back.
Hello I hope you are doing well, I was wondering if you could do a part 3 of blokes on wheels
Blokes On Wheels
5th Second Masterlist | Blokes on Wheels; Part One | Part Two
Summary | Ashton is conflicted, and confides once more in the only person that he can; Calum. It so happens that the bassist is babysitting Lacey, and has some things to reveal to the drummer himself
Warnings | angst, unrequited feelings, slight references to sex, fluff, flashbacks
Quick link to my masterlist, if you’re interested in reading more of my crap 😬
Tumblr media
He stared at the child of his friend’s, picking out her features. Admittedly she was a beautiful baby, but he could see how Luke stared at him through her, the resemblance uncanny, and scary. The thought that he dove head first into this proposition, and the offspring, that he would not be allowed to call his own child, or inform of the truth, and coming out looking like him, would be his worst dream.
At least, if it was a perfect replica of yourself, then he’d only know of his genetical connection to it, and it wouldn’t be blatantly shamed in front of his face. “Dude, chill, it’s not like you’re being told that you have to go through with it, I actually think it might be better if you don’t.”
Calum spoke, placing a glass on the coffee table, sitting on the couch beside Ash, as he rested Lacey upon his lap, bouncing her on his knee causing giggles to emit from her small chest. “What do you mean?” Ash frowned, cocking his head towards the bassist, having a feeling that he would not at all like what left his mouth.
“I mean... you like y/n. Getting involved in this isn’t fair for anyone, if anything, I’d even say that it’s a bit selfish mate.” He gulped, allowing the words to sink in, as he glanced once more at Lacey. “If she finds out, or Luke, do you know how guilty they’d feel for putting this decision on you?”
“What am I supposed to do then?” The elder male asked, plucking his nails against his knuckles, to ease his serious nerves. It was true, the entire ordeal was one of great pressure, he’d not even be able to tell his mum that he had a kid out in the world, less so of who the mother was.
“Nothing.” Calum simply answered, allowing Lacey to play with the chords of his hoodie, momentarily smiling down at the growing infant. “You do nothing, I’ve got the rest covered.”
“Wait-“ Ashton thought for a second, before accusing his friend of getting involved. “Did you offer to take my spot?” He furrowed his brows firmly, listening as Lacey babbled, the noises feeling like laughter at his expense.
Laughter that meant that her future sibling was to not be spawned from him, mocking his loneliness and his affections towards her mother. “I protected you Ash from your own impulses. Do nothing, and let every go about in a more calm route, otherwise there will be drama, and you won’t be the only one hurt.”
“You’re probably right, I’ll think on it.” Ash mumbled, breathing in, filling his lungs with air so that he could bring more light to his mind. “I wish I could go back to the days that I saw her as a friend, and I didn’t care if her and Luke were together. Things were simpler in the old days.”
“They sure were buddy.” Cal nodded, feeling great sympathy for his friend. It wasn’t every day that Ash happened to fall for someone, but this time, the instance was definitely the worst, there were far too many complications.
Tumblr media
Ash walked into the hotel room, unraveling the bandana from his head, finding you laying upon Luke’s chest, both of you trapped in a deep slumber. He was relieved that the two of you had finished your business before he decided to walk in, now he would not have to suffer through the pain of hearing his two best friends going at it.
Thanks to that bet, he was always stuck in a room with you and Luke, if the hotels were full, and the pair of you were unable to get your own space. Mikey and Cal were the lucky ones, pulling the long straws whilst Ashton had been stuck with the short.
A smile creeped onto the drummer’s face as he glanced at the pair of you, getting changed for bed, as he listened to Luke’s snoring and your own tiresome sounds. The babies of the band, that was what the two of you were.
He held in a snort at the sight of Luke, his quiff was tousled hardly keeping shape, as it had indents of where your fingers had ran through. The pair of you were adorable, everyone knew that nothing could split the two of you up, including the media.
And frankly, if the two of you had never been an item, Ashton was sure that none of you would be where you were now; on tour and gifted with fame. “Night guys.” He mumbled happily as he got under his own covers, turning the light off, and hitting the hay.
Tumblr media
“It’s almost been too long that we’ve had a night to ourselves.” You mumbled against your husband’s chest, dragging your lips along the hairs that were rooted out from his skin. His arm wrapped around your bare back, pulling your face up to his as he met you with a chaste as sweet kiss.
“Definitely.” He spoke, brushing your hair out of your face, biting his lip as he looked at your gorgeous face. “I love you Mrs Hemmings. You do know exactly how to make me feel better, even if I’m incapable of giving you what you want.”
“You are everything I want.” You frowned, cupping his face and stroking his light scruff with the pads of your thumbs. “You and Lacey are my family Lu, and no matter what route we take, we’ll have another baby, so long as that’s still something that you want?”
“It is.” He admired, brushing his nose against yours. “Cal said he’ll be a fall back if Ashton decides he doesn’t want to be involved in this whole baby making thing.”
“That’s rather nice of him.” You smiled, staring into the azure eyes of your husband, thinking of how you could always rely on your band mates; they were always there for you when you fell on your feet, and for more serious concerns, including this disadvantage that the pair of you had stumbled across. “I guess we’ll see.”
“I guess we will.”
Tumblr media
“I can’t see!” You squealed out in the showers backstage, after soap falling in your eyes, trying to brush it out with water, but finding, despite using such a method in the past, that it had not helped. “Can someone get me a towel? Luke?”
Ashton rushed around, grabbing the material you and brought with you to dry your hair, covering his eyes as he passed it over, respecting your decency, having some modesty himself. “There you go.”
“What would I do without you Ash?” You laughed as you wiped your eyes, after pausing the spray of water that was warming your body. You draped it over the side, next rubbing your eyes with your fingers, them feeling sore from the foam that had sunk into them.
“Probably go blind.” He chuckled, having faced away from you, finding it relaxing to speak to you, more so with the stream of water that continued, bringing a peaceful aura to the small talk.
“At least then you’d be my eyes and ears, old man.” He was 21, but by now, he was used to you poking fun at him being older, and still looking as though he were a drop out like the rest of you.
“No, I think not. The things that happen between you and Lucas, I have no intention of seeing. I’ve seen enough from another perspective, I’m not gonna be some voyeur for your own aid.” A laugh escaped from you as you rinsed any remnants of shampoo out of your hair, reaching for the conditioner, squeezing a dollop out onto your palm.
“Don’t lie, you love us Irwin.” He shook his head, snorting a little, as he tapped his foot against the floor.
“Never said I didn’t, but I don’t want in on free porn your sex life. I for sure don’t want to see how you conceive your future children.” He jokingly gagged, causing you to roll your shampoo free eyes at his dismissal, reaching out to lightly shove him and push him away with a wet hand.
“If you say so drummer boy.” Oh, how things had changed.
::: December 31th :::
Gerard hated himself. It had been a week since he finally faced the fact his crush on Joey had evolved into something he couldn't control. He was falling in love with her. Can you love two people? He had no idea, but it felt his feelings for the drummer were getting as intense as the one he had for his wife. He loved his wife, and he would never do anything to hurt her. But at the very same time, he couldn't stop thinking about Joey. He wanted her to be his.
- "Mine?! What kind of sick idea is that?"- he asked himself as he drove around town on his own, trying to clear his mind, that had been a mess ever since Christmas.
- "I have to get that girl out of my mind! This makes no fucking sense!"- he lit another cigarette and held the steering wheel hard, feeling his hands sweating.
He had been a mess all those days, looking at footage of the tour just to see the girl, hear her laughter, see her talking with pretty much everybody else but him. Never to him. Why? Did she hate him? Wasn't he nice enough for her? Wasn't he charming enough? Cute enough? What?
- "Could she be crushed on me too? And that's why she is avoiding me?"- she said out loud to himself, and his heart beat faster in his chest. Could it be? But what could he do if she did? Nothing, he was married. He wasn't going to cheat on Lynz with that girl. Was he?
- "Of course not!"- he wanted to slap himself- "I am not doing anything! I am not doing anything!"
But it was more complicated than he thought, he had to see her that night 'cos Mikey had organized a whole New Year's Eve party, and everybody was going to be there. Even Ray and Frankie had flown to the party with their families.
- "And she is engaged! for Christ Sakes!!"
Gerard kept talking on his own, smoking and drinking the third coffee of the morning. He felt sick in the stomach, but he knew it wasn't either of those things. It was his stupid crush.
- "Well, I don't really care if she is engaged! she could be mine anyway. Who the fucking hell cares about that guy? I bet he doesn't even love her! I love her!"- Gerard Way sighed and closed his eyes for a second.
- "You don't fucking love her!!"- he yelled and hit the steering wheel.
He didn't love her. He couldn't love her. Why would he? He didn't know much about her. He kept repeating those arguments in his head to convince himself he was just a crazy asshole about that whole thing. It wasn't real. It was just his mind playing fucking tricks with him.
- "She is in love with someone else, you are in love with someone else, you have been happy with your wife for years! This shit makes no fucking sense!! I knew having that girl in the band was the worst idea we've ever had."
Gerard was just kidding himself. He loved having Joey on the team. He loved how that tour had gone so far, the energy in the shows, the laughter in the rehearsals... everything. Even when she really didn't talk with him so much.
- "Why doesn't she fucking like me?!"- the singer was acting childish, but he couldn't help it, just like he couldn't help end up driving over her house. He knew the road too well, even when he had just been there once. He had made his way over a million times in his mind, just to make sure he wasn't going to forget it.
- "What the fuck are you doing?"- Gerard asked himself as he parked outside Joey's building. He looked up to her floor with the honest hope to see her there staring outside the window. Maybe if he saw her, that whole crush/love thing would be over. Perhaps it just was his mind screwing with him. It could be an effect of spending so much time with her. He wasn't really around a lot of other women on tour. Maybe that was it. Not love at all.
- "Please don't do this"- he begged himself as he opened the car's door. He put one foot outside and sighed. Was he doing it? He stepped back into the car and slammed the door.
- "You are not doing this, Gerard!"
But he was.
Gerard got out of the car and walked to the building. He hesitated for a few seconds but continued his way. He opened the front door and stayed still.
- "And what are you gonna say? Hello, are you crushed on me"?- he whispered and brushed his hands on his face, like trying to rearrange his thoughts with that movement. It didn't work, obviously.
- "There is no way you are doing this,"- he thought, even when his feet were moving towards the elevator quickly.
- "Please stop, what the fuck are you doing?"- he argued with his body, but still, he didn't stop.- "You are gonna make a fool out of yourself, you know that, don't you?"
The elevator door opened, and Gerard set foot on Joey's floor. That's when he stayed still. He noticed his hands were shaking. That's how nervous he was over her. The last time he had been so fluttered for a girl was the day he asked his wife to marry him.
After a few deep breaths, Gerard walked over to the drummer's door and held his breath for a few seconds before knocking. There was no way back now. Well, he could still run, but there weren't many places to hide. Silence. It seemed there wasn't anybody home. He waited a little longer but didn't knock again. No one answered the door, and Gerard sighed, relieved. She wasn't there. He wasn't going to make a fool out of himself. After a few seconds, he turned around and headed to the stairs, smiling.
- "Hey! Gerard!"- the girl's voice made him jump on his stop as she appeared at her door and smiled- "What are you doing here?"
- "I was... eh..."- he stuttered as he strolled back to her apartment- "I just..."
- "I haven't seen you since we came back from touring. Come in!"
And the singer smiled, so nervous Joey could tell there was something wrong.
- "How are you?"- he managed to say, feeling his cheeks red.
- "Great! Sorry, I couldn't open the door faster, I was in the bedroom."
- "Don't worry"- Joey stared at him in silence and smiled. She was actually happy to see him, just not as excited as he was. And neither as nervous.
- "Would like something to drink?"- the girl walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge- "Juice? Diet coke? Water?"
- "I'm ok, thanks. I just finished a coffee."
- "I also have coffee,"- she said and turned to him smiling- "I am actually gonna have another coffee."
Gerard nodded and did his best to rearrange the thoughts in his head. So far, the only thing he knew was that his crush didn't fade away when he saw her. If anything, it got worse.
- "Ok, asshole, you got here even when I told you it was a bad idea. What are you gonna do now?"- his brain made him feel like an idiot, and he completely agreed. He felt like an idiot standing in the middle of Joey's kitchen in complete silence.
- "So, what brings you over?"- Joey asked, and her eyes shone as she sipped her cup of fresh coffee.
- "I actually wanted to..."- Gerard made a pause and sighed. His heart was about to come through his throat.
- "Hey Gerard!"- and suddenly, shit got even worse, 'cos Matthew appeared next to him in boxers and t-shirt with a big "I just had sex" smile.
- "Of course he was here, you asshole!! Of course, they were having sex, and that's why it took her so long to answer! Of course, you are completely out of place here! now, how the fuck are you getting out of this?"- Gerard shook Matthew's hand and did his best to remain as relaxed and calmed as possible.
- "Hey, dude! So glad you are here too. Mikey told me the news the other day, but I was too busy to come, and it was too impersonal to just call, so... congratulations on the engagement!"- words just came out of Gerard's lips as he smiled, proud of his shitty lie.
- "Aww! thank you so much for driving over!!"- Joey smile blushing, and gave him a small hug- "You didn't have to."
- "Actually, I was on my way over to get a few things for Mikey's party tonight"- lies kept flying out of Way's lips- "Good one, don't make her feel special," And I thought I couldn't just keep on delaying this forever!"
- "Thank you so much"- Matthew smiled and walked to Joey, wrapping his arms around her waist as he stood behind her, resting his chin on her shoulder. Gerard looked at him and did his best to sound as honest as possible.
- "I'm very happy you are getting married. Lynz keeps telling me you two are a very cute couple"- Joey blushed and nodded.
- "Tell her thank you from us..."
- "Are you coming tonight to Mikey's party?"
- "Yeah, of course, we are!"- Gubler answered, and Gerard hated that- "But we are going to stop by my friend's party first, so we could be a little late."- and he kissed Joey's neck as soon as he stopped talking.
To Gerard, it was clear Matthew was showing she was his territory, and it bothered Way so much to see Joey wasn't doing anything about it. If anything, she was enjoying it.
- "Well, make sure you get there before they drop the ball; Mikey is really excited about this. You two have to be there. He hasn't been excited about many things lately"- Gerard looked at Joey and smiled- "Well, I have to get going now, again, congratulation, guys! See you guys later!"- he shook Gubler's hand and waved at Joey.
- "Bye!"- the singer got outside that apartment as fast as he could.
- "Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid!"- he repeated over and over in his mind as he fought the urge to smash his head against the wall. It wasn't just the fact that now he knew the actor hated him and knew he had a thing on his girl, but now he knew for sure it wasn't just a crush. He wanted her for himself.
- "So, where were we?"- Joey asked as he turned around and kissed Matthew's lips fiercely.
- "You were about to... take a shower 'cos I have to show you something important."
- "Oh, come on"- she whined and bit his lower lip- "Can we do it again? Just once? A quicky."
- "Nope"- he answered, chuckling- "Maybe when we come back."
- "What if when we come back, I don't wanna do it"- the girl answered and raised an eyebrow.
- "I guess... I can always try to persuade you..."- Matthew wrapped his arms around her tight and lifted her to carry her to the nearest couch- "I could kiss you for hours and see if you change your mind."
- "We should give it a try... daddy"- the girl whispered, kissing her fiancé, making him shiver.
- "Yes, we should... but first, we have to go"- Gubler stood up and held Joey's hand, who started whining again as the two of them walked to the bedroom.
- "You are gonna love this, Yami, so stop whimpering"- he chuckled and watched her taking off the small amount of cloth she was wearing and getting into the shower.
- "Fine, but this better be good, and it better includes a coffee."
- "Another coffee? You were drinking one five seconds ago."
- "I know... but it's new year's eve. We should get filled with caffeine to make it through the night."
- "You are right. I need a few more cups of coffee too."
- "Good, listen to your future wife. She is always right,"- Joey yelled from the shower and missed Matthew's reaction at his words. He smiled so wide he felt his face was staying like that forever.
- "I swear I will"- Gubler walked around the room, getting dressed too. At least he had already showered- "Hey, Yami?"
- "Yes, Gublerneritor?"
- "Is it just me, or Gerard was weird today?"- the actor made sure his words sounded as casually as possible.
- "I know! I felt it too!"- the girl answered in total honesty- "He looked kinda shaky."
- "Yeah..."- Matthew made a pause and thought about his words very carefully- "Yami?"
- "Yes?"
- "Have you ever thought maybe he..."
- "Not Matthew Gray, he doesn't have a crush on me"- the girl quickly answered and closed her eyes for a second, thankful she was in the shower while that conversation was taking place- "Actually, I've always thought the total opposite."
- "Why?"- Joey walked out of the shower and wrapped herself with a clean towel, walking to the room to look for some clean clothes.
- "He is always pretty cold and distant with me, we don't talk much, we've had the "I don't hate you" talk at least twice, cos it feels after our rocky start, we really haven't gotten along"- Joey smiled at Matthew and walked to the closet- "Except for that nap you took together and the movies you watched together alone in your bed, and the times you stare at him totally nervous... I'm never doing any of that again."
- "Maybe that's why he was so nervous"- Matthew said and looked at Joey getting dressed- "Maybe coming to congratulate us was his way to make amends."
- "Or maybe he felt forced to do it... maybe his wife made him."
- "Maybe..."- Gubler looked at Joey for a few seconds, and a little smiled lodged on his lips- "You look so pretty."
- "In a black dress?"
- "In pretty much anything you wear."
- "Not everything?!"- the girl pretended to be shocked.
- "Sorry, I don't like it when you wear pajamas. I like it more when you sleep naked"- her fiancé simply answered, and she blushed.
- "Sorry, some nights I get cold."
- "I'm never gonna let you be cold ever again"- he walked over and landed his hands on her hips- "With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way in darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine."
Matthew smiled and held her hand, kissing it. He recited The Corpse's Bride wedding vows, and his fiancé's heart was melting, and her eyes were full with tears.
- "Stop making me cry"- she whispered and stared into his hazel eyes, feeling waves of love- "I love that movie."
- "This "we are getting married" thing keeps me excited about all the future we will share, Yami."
- "I know!"- she grinned and jumped, making Matthew laugh.
- "Ok, come on, let's go."
- "Where?"
- "First to get coffee, then to see my surprise."
Mikey walked around his house and looked at everything he had ready for his New Year party. There was a little tiny part of him that was excited about it. His friends were going to be there, he was finally selling the house, so it was going to be the last evening in a place that, at this point, only caused him pain. He had even spent a few nights in a hotel just 'cos he didn't want to be home alone with his memories.
- "Hey!"- Frank, Jamia, and the babies walked over smiling. They had been staying with him since they arrived from Jersey the day before.
- "Do you need help with anything?"- Frank asked and lit a cigarette staying as far as the babies as possible.
- "Nah, I'm cool..."
- "You don't look real excited about this party. It's gonna be awesome!"- Frank was pretty psyched, he hadn't partied in a while... well, since Joey's birthday, but he was looking forward to having a fun night with friends and his wife.
- "I am, I just need more coffee... I'll make more coffee"- the youngest Way walked back into the house straight to the kitchen.
- "We'll be there around 11"- he read Joey's text and sighed.
- "It will be too late to get drunk together."
- "But not too late to puke the pool"- Mikey smiled
- "Why on earth are you coming so fucking late to the party I fucking organized to tell people you are getting married?"- he said as soon as Joey picked up the phone, and Mikey heard her laughing right away.
- "Sorry, but I swear we'll be there before they drop the ball"- the girl answered- "You are on speaker, by the way."
- "Hey Mikey!!"- Matthew yelled, driving.
- "Hey Gubler! Why are you keeping my sister from her party?"
- "Sorry! My friends asked us to be there for their dinner, but it's earlier, so you won't even notice."
- "I've been keeping your engagement a fucking secret for a week. Do you know how hard this is?"
- "You sucked at it!!"- Joey yelled, laughing- "Gerard appeared at my house today to congratulate us."
- "What the fuck?"- Mikey frowned, not getting what his brother had done- "Well, yeah, he heard me say it at Christmas, but... well, it's nice of him to move his ass and congratulate you."
- "Yeah, I know, I'm just saying you couldn't keep it a secret."
- "No one else knows, I swear, you are gonna overshadow the whole New Year's eve with your news, Bug"- Joey kept laughing as Matthew looked at her and smiled, happy.
- "Mikey, can I ask you for a favor?"
- "Whatever you need, Gubler."
- "Can you finally send me the videos of Joey's birthday at the karaoke?"- the bassist burst out laughing, and Joey quickly yelled no.
- "Don't you fucking dare, Michael James!!"
- "What are you middle naming me for? I haven't done anything!"
- "You two have been talking about those videos for way too long! And I am not gonna let my future husband see me doing such a sad show. He might reconsider the whole wedding!"
- "There is no way we are considering that! You've got a ring, this thing is on!!"- Matthew laughed and slowed down the car- "Mikey Mike, we have to go now, we just got where we were going, and I can't wait to show it to my girl, we'll see you tonight, hopefully not as drunk as the last time."
Mikey laughed, thinking about their very private engagement celebration (just the three of them). They had gotten pretty hammered playing Uno. And they had a lot of fun.
- "See you guys later; maybe we can check the videos with the guys. I'm pretty sure Ray got an amazing performance of Bug singing Megadeth with him."
- "Shit! I liked you better when you weren't best friends! bye bróðir!"- Joey and Matthew said goodbye and chuckled. She looked at him and raised an eyebrow- "What are we doing here, Akumu?"
- "This is my surprise, come on"- the young man opened the door and quickly ran to open his girl's door and held her hand.
- "Nice neighborhood"- she said and looked at the house in front of her. It was more like a castle, a haunted house, or a giant treehouse.
- "Do you like it?"- Matthew asked and kept holding her hand tight.
- "It's beautiful"
- "I'm glad you liked it, 'cos I bought it for us"- Joey froze.
- "What?"- and Matthew looked at her, smiling like a maniac.
- "This will be our house, Mrs. Gubler!!"
- "Oh my god!!"- the girl covered her mouth wide, opening her eyes, in absolute shock- "It's huge!"
- "And it's gonna be our home, to create all the weird little places we want!"- Matthew kissed Joey as the girl kept jumping.
- "I can't fucking believe this!! Matthew!! you got a house?"
- "No, Yami. We've got a house"- he corrected and felt her lips softly on his.
- "You paid it with your work Akumu, it's your house."
- "I bought it for us, and you are gonna help me make it our home. Come on, look at this, we can do whatever we want in this place!!"
Matthew was excited, and Joey was overwhelmed. He had gotten a house. That was huge. But he had paid for it, and she hadn't put a penny. She couldn't just let him buy a house for them. They had to share all the expenses. Sure, he made way more money than she did, but that didn't mean she wanted to be a maintained wife.
- "This is where I want to build our fireplace. I thought we could customize every single room in here. We have to have your music room back there"- he held her hand and crawled her around, laughing, nearly in hyperventilation.
- "Matthew..."
- "This is the kitchen where I will make you breakfast every morning"- no one could doubt he was happy.
- "Akumu..."- she tried to talk to him, but her fiancé was too excited and nearly ran upstairs
- "And up here we are gonna have our room, look! It has an amazing view, and I am going to paint here, and you are going to be my muse, and we are going to be so happy! And we are gonna fill this place with kids!"- Joey's heart kept racing with every word from Matthew's lips.
- "Akumu, I love everything."
- "And I love you!"- he quickly replied and held her tight, spinning her in the air- "You make me so happy!!"
- "You make me happy too, but... I also wanna pay for the house."
- "What?"- he frowned, not getting what Joey was saying.
- "Yeah, I mean, you bought a house, and it's awesome! I love it. I love you for doing it. But if it's gonna be my house too, I wanna pay the mortgage with you"- Matthew looked at her, confused
- "But..."
- "But? What?"
- "I..."- Matthew looked at his girlfriend in silence- "You are unique."
- "Meaning?"- the girl frowned and kept her eyes on his, not even blinking.
- "You never do what other people do."
- "People would take advantage of the guy buying them a house?"- he nodded and kissed her lips.
- "I don't care about the money Yami, I care about being with you."
- "I know that... but I care about not feeling like a burden."
- "Never! You are never going to be a burden to me."
- "I will feel like one if you don't let me pay for this house with you; I won't feel it like mine either. It would be your house, forever."
- "Our house, Yami"- he leaned over and kissed her sweetly- "This is our house"- Joey looked at him and waited for his words- "Of course, you can pay the mortgage with me, but that means you have to make breakfast too."
- "Deal"- she answered and grinned- "I love you, Matthew Gray Gubler."
- "I love you, Maria Josefina Sveinbjörndottir."
Ray and Frank were having the time of their lives. They were on fire with Mikey's party. All of their friends were there from hands and from recording in Los Angeles so many times. It was an amazing reunion. Gerard tried to look calmed and natural, but he was freaking out, constantly looking at the door. He was sure Matthew knew he was crushed on his girlfriend, and he didn't know if he was going to do or say anything. What if he confronted him in front of Lynz?
- "Are you ok?"- his wife asked as she wrapped an arm around him and rested her head on his shoulder. He hugged her carefully and kissed her temple.
- "Yeah, I think I need an extra coffee to make it to midnight."
- "Bug!!"- Mikey yelled and ran to the door as Joey and Gubler walked into the house. Gerard lit a cigarette immediately and tried to look away. But he couldn't. He had to know what Matthew was doing. And Matthew was hugging Mikey. What the fuck??
- "What? are they best friends or something? What the fuck is going on? Why are they hugged? What did I miss?"
- "You know, I'm so happy your brother has Joey"- Gerard's eyes opened wide at his wife's words- "I mean it, she is the only one of his friends that's not related to Alicia in any way. I think that's why he enjoys his time with her so much."
- "Could be... he is very friendly with Matthew too..."- Gerard whispered, and Lynz nodded.
- "Which is great, 'cos her boyfriend won't get all jealous of him when you guys are touring."
- "Yeah, that's right."
- "Jersey!! Dad!! I am so happy to see you!!"- the girl ran to his friends and hugged them both tight.
Matthew looked at her and smiled, following her. It seemed now that she had agreed to marry him, he was more confident around the band, except for Gerard. Matthew hated Gerard. He was now sure he had a crush or something like that in Joey, and he was aware she had no idea.
- "Iceland!!"
Frank hugged her tight and took a deep breath to enjoy her perfume. He loved having her around, and he still loved catching her attention. He would still think of her as a totally doable girl, but the drummer wasn't a distraction when he was around Jamia. Maybe that's what she turned into while touring, something funny to persuade, someone to flirt with.
- "I missed you, kid!!"- Ray said and kissed her forehead- "Hey Matthew! I'm happy to see you!"
- "Hey guys!!"- Gubler smiled at the bunch and shook Jamia's and Christa's hands. Frank and Joey stared at each other, giggling, not saying a word as Mrs. Iero chuckled nervously as she stood in front of Matthew.
- "Oh my God!!!"- Joey turned around to burst out laughing along with Frank. Their faces were red as tears fell from their eyes. Jamia was blushing as she wouldn't stop staring at Matthew. She just found him so incredibly attractive she was melting.
- "What is it?"- Matthew asked, not getting what was going on.
- "Dude, it's useless"- Ray answered, tapping on his back- "They are gonna be like that for a while."
- "Really?"
Gubler stared at her girlfriend and bit his lips. She looked so happy; he had never seen her that happy amongst people. She was always lovely with his friends, and everybody loved her. They were all incredibly excited about their wedding, especially Paget. She had jumped over Joey the second they walked into her house earlier that night. But this was the first time Joey had friends, and Matthew had just realized how much she needed them.
- "I'm sorry, dork"- Joey wiped off the tears from her eyes and wrapped an arm around her fiancé- "Frank and I have an inside joke that goes way back, I'll tell you later"- he smiled and kissed her softly.
- "That's fine. And do you wanna tell them now?"
- "Yes"- she whispered, nodding- "Wait, where's Gerard?"- she asked and took a look around.
- "Gee!!"- Mikey yelled and waved at his brother, who walked over with his wife a few seconds later.
- "Hey Lynz!"- Joey smiled at Mrs. Way and at her husband. Gubler was way more friendly than he thought he would be 'cos he didn't want to make a fuzz. Gubler didn't want to make Joey uncomfortable in front of her friends. Gerard was a subject of a conversation he had to know how to face at another time.
- "Ok, ready?"- Matthew asked Joey and looked at her smiling. The girl was so excited she even jumped before saying.
- "We are getting married!!"
- "What?!"- Frank yelled, wide-opened eyes.
- "Oh my god!!"- Ray freaked out and jumped to the couple- "Congratulations, guys!!"
- "Thank you, dad!!"- Joey smiled and felt Frank jumping to the hug too, crawling Matthew with him.
- "Oh shit!! We are gonna party tonight!!"- Frank shouted as they all laughed. Jamia clapped and waited for the perfect moment to congratulate Joey and literally hang on Matthew's neck. Frank and Joey burst out laughing again, but no one but them actually got what was going on.
Lynz hugged and congratulated Joey, and the drummer thanked her cheerfully. She looked at Gerard next to his wife and smiled. But he didn't really look so happy.
- "What the fuck is this guy's problem?"- Joey thought, but Matthew's arms around her waist took her from any random thought she might have had, as he sweetly redirected her to Frank and Jamia, who were talking to her about the upcoming wedding.
- "You bought a house?!"- Ray yelled, and Joey laughed. Her friends were happy and excited about it. That felt warm inside, like, being loved.
- "Did you call Tucker?"
- "Not yet"- Joey confessed- "I've been trying to process it all actually."
The girl looked at Ray, and he smiled at her so nicely she felt like crying. Maybe at that point in her life, she had to face the fact it felt good having friends.
And this is why she had always run away from people: Joey had grown up alone in an orphanage until the age of eight. That was when Mercedes and Sveinbjörn had adopted her and gave her a home. She loved her foster parents very much. They were as loving as real parents would have been. They always tried to have a baby but never could. However, Mercedes wanted to have a kid so badly, she convinced her husband to adopt. They were going for a baby until they saw Joey. She was alone in a playroom, drawing, away from all the other kids. They walked to talk to her, and she smiled, melting their hearts right away.
- "Why don't you play with the other kids?"- Mercedes asked her as she started drawing with her, and Sveinjörn looked at them from a safe distance.
- "I don't like the other kids."
- "Why?"
- "'Cos they don't like me either"- Joey simply replied- "That's why I draw my own friends"
And she showed the woman what she was working on. That was when Mercedes knew she was taking that girl home and giving her all her love no matter what. And she did.
Joey had a hard time in the orphanage. The older kids hit her 'cos they said she was weird until she learned how to defend herself. By the age of six, Joey had beaten up pretty up all the older guys in the place. That meant she didn't have many friends either. Everybody was scared of her. By the age of seven, she had stopped trying to make friends. Nobody wanted to be around her anyway.
And that's how Joey grew up the rest of her life. Sure, she got a home and loving family, who gave her a new last name and all the support a kid needed. But she had already gone through enough to scar her heart.
Tabitha was her only friend growing up. The only one in mid-school and high school too. They were neighbors, and their mothers were best friends. They were "forced" to spend time together their whole lives, and Joey was eventually comfortable with her.
When she left for college, she decided it was time to start over. Nobody knew she was adopted. She didn't want to tell either. It made people look at her differently. More than usual. That was why she had fallen in love with Matthew when she first met him. He wasn't afraid to be weird. He loved and embraced his own weirdness, and he loved Joey's weirdness even more. He was the only one who knew she was adopted, the only one she had trusted enough to share it with. The other guys she had been with were always trying to be better than her; they felt intimidated by her abilities in music, by her being part of the music scene. And mostly by her independence.
She wasn't a people person, but she could work in teams and make music without being friends with her peers. Guys didn't like that. Her mom had always warned her about it. Mercedes tried to make her softer about her relationships with people, but in the end, she gave up. She was proud she had found Matthew, and by everything her daughter told her about her new job, she loved the guys in the band and how lovely they were with her. Especially Mikey and Ray.
- "With a card trick?! Can you be any more romantic?!"- Jamia's yells took Joey from her thoughts as she saw Mrs. Iero almost drooling over her fiancé- "I am so jealous!"
- "We know, honey"- Frank said and wrapped an arm around his wife's waist as Joey chuckled.
- "We are so happy for you, Bug"- Mikey kissed his friend's forehead, and she grinned.
- "Thank you..."
- "If I ever see her cry..."- Ray started, but Joey quickly moved her hand and put it on his mouth
- "We are not doing that, ok? I know how to take care of myself. You don't have to threaten Matthew. If anything bad happens, he knows who is gonna kick his ass, and that's gonna be me, I don't need..."- but Ray moved and placed his hand on her mouth, covering it and stopping her speech.
-" Frank, can you arrange her next tattoo appointment on me, and get her a nice one on her hand that says "I know how to take care of myself" 'cos at some point she has to get bored of repeating it over and over again"- Matthew burst out laughing at those words, making Joey frown. But Mikey laughed too, and Ray smiled, pleased his joke had worked.
- "Fuck you, dad"- she mouthed, and he hugged her.
- "You love me, Bug, now bear with the fact you've got a bunch of older brothers now, who will always take care of you, no matter what, ok?"- the guitarist kissed her temple and turned to Gubler- "And I mean it, I will end you."
- "Ray..."- Christa held her husband's hand and pulled him back.
- "It's ok, I completely understand it. I still want to kill my sister's husband... though my nephews are cool..."
- "So, what are we drinking?"- Joey said and looked around to change the subject as quickly as possible.
- "Shit! I'll bring you a beer"- Gerard said all of a sudden, just to find an excuse to get away from there. But...
- "I'll help you"- Matthew said and smiled.
Gerard knew he was fucked.
- "So... thank you for coming"- Gerard said and looked at Gubler as they stood in front of the fridge- "Mikey is really excited to have you here."
- "I know you have a crush on my fiancée"- Way's held his breath. He didn't see that coming so fast and so directly. But Matthew wasn't in the mood for sugarcoating anything for Gerard. In fact, he was making his best effort not to break his face right there, no questions asked.
- "I don't know what you are talking about."
- "Dude, I don't care if you deny it or not. You are fucking crystal clear. So here's the thing, stay the fuck away from her, ok?"- Gerard never thought Matthew would be that direct and even threatening.
- "You are getting the whole deal wrong. I'm just her friend."
- "I can see the way you look at her, and it's not a friendly way dude, face it."
- "You are wrong"- Gerard tried to sound cool and fresh, but he failed poorly as he noticed the look Gubler was giving him. It felt the actor was ready to kill him right there.
- "Keep telling yourself that."
- "Come on, Matt... I'm just..."
- "It's Matthew"- the actor said and looked right into the singer's eyes in silence for a few seconds- "She thinks you are all innocent and friendly, but I can see through you, so here's how things are gonna be, you are gonna stay the fuck away from her or I'll have to take her out that tour, you heard me?"
- "You are delusional!"- Gerard tried to defend himself and grabbed two beers from the fridge- "You can't fucking come and threaten me in my brother's house and pretend it's all my fault"
- "So you deny you were at her house this morning 'cos you just wanted to see her? 'Cos dude, that congratulation excuse was pretty shitty, and she swallowed it only because she can't think bad of you. She is too sweet for that shit."
- "I mean it, Matt"- Gerard used that name only to make him mad- "You have not idea what you are talking about."
- "Whatever you say, dude, just don't fuck it up, or I'll make sure you don't get to be close to her, ever again"- Matthew grabbed two beers as well and walked out of the kitchen to meet his fiancée.
Gerard was fucked. He knew it. It was going to be harder than ever, but he had to stay away from Joey. He was in love with her, for Christ Sakes. He felt like crying every time he saw her with Matthew. He wanted her to be his. And that was never going to be possible. He knew it. It made him want to break a wall. Break Matthew's face was also a pretty good idea, but he couldn't. Joey would never forgive him. And she was all he cared about at that moment.
- "No! I care about my wife. I don't wanna hurt my wife. I love her! This is a stupid crush, a stupid crush I have to get over soon!"
Gerard was fucked.
It’s not going to be alright
Pairing: Gerard x Reader Word count: ~ 2 300 Genre: Angst, fluff, comfort TW: Anxiety attack, sort of Summary: (Y/n) brings Gerard to meet their parents. It doesn’t go as well as expected. Requested by @thegnotecannothurtusanymore a/n: I hope this is what you wanted and that you like it
Tumblr media
"Do I look fine?" Gerard still sounds insecure as he stands in front of the mirror, adjusting his jacket lightly while also checking his hair and makeup, turning his head from side to side slowly a few times. He repeatedly runs his fingers through his hair, a sharp sigh escaping his nose.
"Of course, you always do," I say with a smile, standing behind him and observing him through the mirror. "C'mon, you don't need to be so nervous. I don't even care if they don't like or approve you, this is just because they're curious about you." Wrapping my hands around his wrists, I pull his hands away from himself in an attempt of helping Gerard with calming down. He's already perfect.
"But... Still, what if they try to separate us?" To say Gerard is worried is a euphemism.
I push Gerard to sit down on his bed and place my hands on his shoulders. "Listen, they're just my parents, not me. It doesn't matter whether they like you or not. They can't control me the whole time. We can, dunno, run away if we need to, don't worry about it!" I smile in an attempt of cheering him up and it seems to work.
Gerard noticeably relaxes under my touch. He wraps his arms around me and brings me closer, his head against my abdomen.
"It's going to be alright, Gee," I tell him softly as playing with his hair. He nods hesitantly.
We've been together for around a year now and, from hearing so much about me having a boyfriend and never seeing him, my parents decided that I should bring him home for dinner. Gerard almost freaked out because of it at first, something I completely don't judge him for. He was desperate about finding formal clothes for the dinner, but I told him to dress... like himself, just a kinda formal due to the occasion, but not completely. There would be no point for him to dress up in something he is uncomfortable with and to pretend to be someone he isn't just for my parents. If they're going to accept him, they must accept him the way he is and the way I love him.
Not to mention that we wouldn't be able to sustain a lie for too long. It's relatively easy hearing rumors about Gerard – after all, there aren't many other punk kids in the city. Also, if they hypothetically liked him like that and called him over for dinner more often, it would be an even harder thing to maintain. He can't hide all the scars or wounds all the time neither lie about some of them.
"What time is it? Maybe we should get going," Gerard says as he reaches for his phone and checks on it without letting me move away. "Yeah, we should," he answers himself and looks up at me, smiling a bit.
Soon, we are in my car and heading over to my place. I had come over to help him with getting ready and just to make sure he wouldn't mess up with anything because of getting too anxious.
"It's going to be alright," I repeat myself before we leave the car. Gerard does his best to smile in response while nodding. We leave the car and move to the front door, where I reassure him once again by giving his hand a light squeeze then I walk in. "Hey, we've arrived," I call to my parents as Gerard closes the door behind us.
"We're over here in the dining room, dear," my mother's voice comes from the said place.
The table is nicely set, the trays and pans filled with food we usually just eat on Sundays or certain occasions, what makes me smile at the same time I see it. Gerard seems just as pleased, an also appreciative air over his features as he looks at everything, cheeks growing red when his eyes meet mine.
When I look at my parents, however, their reaction isn't in any way pleasing. They look at Gerard like if they were expecting gold, but were just given a cheap copy instead or something completely different.
"Um," Gerard breaks the tense silence, seeming to not really have noticed my parents' reaction. "I'm Gerard, Gerard Way. It's nice to finally meet you." He smiles, looking at the two with nervous eyes. Well, now he's noticed it.
"Oh, so you're Gerard." The word sounds bitter coming from my father. He looks away, lips pursed and he doesn't make any effort in hiding his light displeasure. My mother takes the same path, a clearly forced smile decorating her lips as she slowly nods, drowning the room in awkwardness. I hate her for it. I mean, they don't even know Gerard yet.
A sigh escapes my lips as I just pull on Gerard's hand for him to sit down already as I do so myself, concluding my parents won't tell us to do it. Annoying. My parents do the same.
"Okay, so... Gerard," my mother speaks up first while everyone is serving themselves. He hums questioningly, smiling a bit. She continues. "Do you work? Do you do anything besides studying?"
"I actually don't need to work," Gerard replies, pushing his chair closer to the table after taking all the food he wanted. "I draw a lot in my free time and I've been trying to publish a comic."
Approval? No. The same displeasure shows itself on their faces, poorly hidden by fake smiles.
"Oh, that's... interesting," my mother breathes a chuckle, looking down at her food. Her chuckle sounds more of a 'look at how stupid he is' thing. Okay, okay, maybe I'm imagining things, right...? Let me avert my attention away from it.
"Gerard is excellent at drawing." I smile proudly and share a look with Gerard, who seems more relieved with my comment.
My mother makes an unconvinced face, but she doesn't have the opportunity to continue talking because my father speaks up next. "And you're off school soon, right? Have you already applied for any college?" He seems a bit more friendly than my mother, something I believe to be a brief impression due to how he's barely talked until now.
"Yeah, I've been accepted in the school of visual arts in NY," Gerard breathes with a proud air, already concluding how tiring it's all gonna be. In a social battery sense. The two will probably question Gerard until he walks out that door. It's going to be exhausting.
"Arts?" More reproval. My father raises his eyebrows amused after Gerard nods and my mother holds back a sigh, moving to sip on her glass of soda like if she can't handle it all. "That's peculiar, certainly. Something really difficult to get a future in, isn't it?" He says in clear mocking and looks at my mother. Look at this fool; I can practically hear them thinking. I don't know if it makes me angry or sad or both. Honestly, I already predicted things weren't going to turn out well, but this is just terrible.
"Like if Gerard would ever fail in anything while he's got so many talents like that," I roll my eyes. My comment goes ignored apart from how Gerard blushes and grins.
"Oh, but I've got a band in case anything goes wrong!" Gerard shrugs in a sudden wave of confidence.
"His band is awesome," I add. Ignored. Hah.
"A band!" A laughter comes from my father and my mother follows suit. They spend a moment laughing, but reality seems to hit them again before the fact Gerard and I remained in silent, both of us observing them in disbelief.
My mother shakes her head in dismissal as covering her mouth for a moment – at least making an effort, what seemed to be too hard to my father. "Erm, that's wonderful! Wonderful," she says.
A sigh escaped my lips at the thought I'll probably pull Gerard out of here myself soon if things continue like that.
Thankfully, some minutes into the dinner, we've got some peace, but all the evil comments and mocking continue right after. Sometimes my parents do apologize. Not genuinely, tho. For real, I feel like it would've been easier if they just got angry and kicked us out as soon as seeing Gerard or something instead of opting for psychological torture. I'm feeling attacked myself.
The dinner being over almost feels like a miracle to me – I quickly stand up from my chair and pull Gerard along with me.
"So, I'll be heading to Gerard's tonight. I'm spending the night at his place, like I promised," I say as giving his hand a light squeeze, running my thumb over his knuckles softly.
He seems really uncomfortable.
"Oh, you are?" My mother sighs, shaking her head to herself. "Okay then, just remember to come home. Love you, dear, see you," she says to me before she takes a good look at Gerard, then walks away to the kitchen with the dirty dishes in hands, not even bothering to tell him a goodbye or anything.
"Goodbye..." I mutter, starting to walk.
"G-Goodbye, Mr. and Mrs. (l/n)! Thanks for the food and for receiving me," Gerard calls, the nervousness starting to show when we're about to leave the house. If I were him, I wouldn't even have said anything.
Feeling the cold night air embracing me is extremely relieving. Being away from the two is relieving. I'm still revolted about everything that has happened; it wasn't kind at all. I look at Gerard, worried. "Are you alright, love?"
"Yeah, sugar, don't worry," he reassures me. His words sound empty. I don't question.
Gerard tries to keep the tough posture until when we arrive to his place and we're already in comfortable clothes, lazing around on his bed. He's clearly not fine – you can notice it through how he acts, his glassy eyes, difficulty on keeping his focus... We will talk about it whenever he is ready.
At some point, my phone starts ringing. My mother. I sigh.
"I'll be right back, Gee, my mom's calling." I press a kiss to his cheek then leave the room and the house, heading to the back porch. It will be uncomfortable having anyone else listening to this while Mikey and Donna are also so nice to me.
"(Y/n)," the angry tone comes from the other end of the line as soon as I answer the call. "That boy is terrible. I'm sure you've noticed how we didn't enjoy him any bit. He's stupid, he's just got no future. You deserve something better, my love," her voice softens. "We just let you go over to his place because it would be impolite to not to after everything."
Ah, there it is. The hypocrisy.
"Well, and I'm sure you've noticed that I don't care about what you two think. You liked Gerard and everything I told you about him until you saw him. That's stupid. You guys didn't even allow yourselves to get to know him properly and already got like that." No, I've got no patience to deal with this. I groan to myself as leaning against the railing and observing what I can see of the back garden.
"We know that kind of people, okay? Trust us, you're not gonna-"
I hang up. And set my phone in the do not disturb mode. I'm not listening to bullshit about Gerard while he's so sweet and loving and...
Putting my phone away, I rub my face and try to get rid of the stress before walking back in.
Gerard is startled by me walking into the bedroom suddenly, eyes widening once they land on me while I close the door. It looks like he's been crying; eyes puffy and red, makeup smudged. "(Y/n)," he cries, reaching his arms towards me as I approach, "don't leave me, oh God, I love you so much. Without you I can't-" He interrupts himself with a sob, starting to cry again.
"I'm not going to leave you!" I sit beside him, pulling Gerard for a hug. I wipe his tears away before pressing a kiss to his cheek. "I would never, I've told you! Their opinion about you isn't relevant to me! They don't know you like I do! I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that."
"Sorry," he sobs against my neck, arms wrapped tightly around me like if I would disappear if he let go. "I wish I was different, damn, I'm sorry."
It's always terrible when Gerard's anxiety attacks, but things seem to be going way worse now and I curse my parents for it. They had literally no reasons to have acted the way they did. Even if they dislike Gerard, everyone must be respected. Seeing Gerard like this hurts.
"You have nothing to apologize for," I rub soft circles into his back as continuing to hold him close, doing it for a few moments in an attempt of getting him to calm down. "Gee, Gerard, listen to me," I say once he's calmed down a bit and take a gentle hold of his face, making him look at me. "All that matters is us and nothing more. I don't care if my parents don't approve of our relationship or if the world does, I just care about us, if we are fine. And, of course, if you are fine. I hated that you needed to go through all of this, I'm so sorry." I press a kiss to his cheek, starting to run my fingers through his hair.
"Don't apologize, it wasn't your fault," Gerard says softly. He is silent for a moment before the tears start again and he buries his face in the crook of my neck again, clutching onto me tightly.
"Let it all out, Gee, it'll help you." I comfort him, pressing kisses to his neck and going back to rubbing his back. "I love you, okay? And that's all that matters."
Moonlight
the second part/continuation of Sunrise, Sunset!
this boutta get interesting……. it gets kinda messy but don’t worry, it isn’t over yet 🙏🙏🙏 also trevor can’t spell over text to save his life
//
Lamar didn’t sleep that night. He couldn’t. He just kept thinking the whole situation over, trying his hardest to connect the dots. Make some sense of it, or at least find some logical way to deny the truth. Had it always been Franklin? It’s not like Lamar ever had a long term girlfriend, or even a chick he was hung up on like his… friend. How long had he been completely naïve? He felt stupid for not noticing sooner. He didn’t even have anyone to confide in. He obviously couldn’t confide in Frank right now. Shit. How would he face him? Lamar screwed his eyes shut tight. What the fuck was he gonna do? He tried thinking about who to turn to. Michael was obviously a no-go, what with the dynamic those two had. Then he thought about Trevor. Maybe he’d help. Maybe. It wouldn’t hurt to just ask, right?
hey
crazy guy
wut leroy. u need smthn?
uh, yeah
sort of
wut iz it?
some complicated bs again. nothin new.
cant u go 2 frank 4 whtevr prblm ur having
not exactly
can i meet u somewhere private?
wut 4
u tryna fuk me leroy?
loco. no.
jus. meet me @ vanilla unicorn asap
Lamar sighed heavily, starting to wonder if this was gonna be a bad idea to try and talk to him about this. But Trevor was kinda fruity anyway, so at least he wouldn’t judge. His phone buzzed again.
alrdy hear bro
Lamar raced over to the strip club, going through the back entrance. Trevor was sitting on his desk, already waiting for Lamar’s arrival.
“LD! What brings you to my fine establishment at this time?” He stood up, but remained leaning against the desk behind him.
“Listen man, it’s.. it’s serious.”
Trevor’s faced lifted, looking surprised. Or.. whatever concerned looked like by his terms.
“How serious we talkin’ bro?”
“Ion know, just some stupid shit I’ve been tryna wrap my head around.”
“Uhh, elaborate on that?”
“It’s gotta do with Fr-…eaky shit going on with me.”
Trevor squinted at him, like he was trying to read Lamar’s mind.
“Like..?”
“Something to do with love, I think?”
“Oh. Well. Why’d you come to me for help?”
“Because I..” He said, the words deflating in his mouth.
“I think you’re the only person who could understand where I’m coming from?”
“…I’m not reading ya. Just say it, Lamar. Jeez.”
“I think I’m in love with someone.”
A long pause filled the air with tension.
“That it?”
“Well, not exactly.”
“Jesus bro, what is the matter with you right now? You look like you’re gonna faint.”
“It’s, it’s someone we know, alright? There.”
Trevor squinted his eyes again, but not for long. His eyebrows flew to his hairline, and he stood upright from the desk he was perched on.
“Wait a minute…”
Lamar looked down at the ground, embarrassment swirling around in his stomach. He felt like some child that had been yelled at for stealing some candy. He didn’t like it. He was a grown fuckin’ man for crying out loud.
“You don’t mean..”
He stood there, saying nothing and grabbing his arm protectively. The silence was back, lingering for too long.
“I fuckin’ knew it.” Trevor said, almost inaudible.
“Wh.. what?” Lamar spluttered out, looking up.
“I fucking knew it!”
Somehow hearing those words comforted and pissed off Lamar. Obviously Trevor wasn’t planning on judging him for it, but how did he know before him?
“What the fuck you mean you knew?!”
“Oh please, Lamar. You aren’t a very subtle person.”
“I am too!”
“No. You’re not. You’re really not.”
“Tell me. How, how am I not subtle as a motherfucker?”
“Hmm… I can think of a few instances to count, but honestly a perfect example was that conversation we had dropping those cars off for he-who-shall-not-be-named.”
Lamar cocked his head sideways, confused. Trevor shook his head before starting his sentence back up.
“Remember when you ah… inquired about Michael and I? Our past?”
“Yeah, what of it?”
“You compared us to some.. I don’t know, divorced couple or something. Figuring it was romantic?” He averted his gaze, turning pink.
“Well, I mean after the whole rundown of our partnership, I asked you about how you and our boy Frankie met.”
“Mhm..”
“And you gave me some weird, uncomfortable story about you having a threesome with him- Which he apparently wasn’t even apart of to begin with. Didn’t know why he even appeared in that memory, but I guess it sort of makes sense now. It was also the fact you.. uh, deciphered my relationship, and tried to compare it to you and Frank. That’s how I started to catch on.”
“Shit.”
“I mean I… I was in the same boat as you, kid. You were right, y’know.”
“I was?”
“Michael and I… were never perfect. But back then I was,” His voice lowered.
“…Am.” He corrected, voice barely above a whisper. Coughing, he continued.
“In love with him. Or something.”
“Shit, for real?”
“For reals homie. I know what you’re going through. Only difference is Mikey uh.. was a little more repressed than I was. But you didn’t hear it from me.”
Lamar stood in shock, eventually flopping down on the couch.
“What the fuck am I gon’ do, Trevor?”
“Well, I know I’m friends with him but I’m not exactly as close to him as you or Mike. So I can’t exactly say whether or not he’s like Michael in that regard, you know?”
“Fuck, man…”
“Hey.. I uh, I’m sorry if I wasn’t much help. I never really knew how to deal with those feelings towards Mike. It’s like, even harder to manage when you have a bond like that.”
“No, no. I needed this I think.”
“Go home, Lamar. Try to get some rest or something.”
As he got up, he placed a hand on Trevor’s shoulder.
“Thanks.”
For the first time since they met, Trevor gave him a genuine smile. He patted his hand and scooted him out the door. Driving back, he still felt sort of restless. Even if he did sleep, it wasn’t gonna be enough. When he got back home and in his bed, he pulled out his phone.
So you’re back.
yup
i thought about what you said
Wait - really?
yeah. i’m a fuckin idiot
Doesn’t take a psychic to know that.
hey
that’s uncalled for lady
What is it you need? It’s very late you know - is what I said keeping you up?
bingo bitch
and uh yeah, i need to know what the fuck u said to franklin
what does he know?
All I told him was that I saw you at his house - very frequently I might add.
I might’ve mentioned you were there in his old room all the time, in his bed with someone he knew - an older woman, perhaps? He didn’t take it too well.
wait a minute
his auntie? i mean she bad and all but
i never.. like did anything with her. not like that
He thought differently. The implications might’ve been misread - why would you choose his childhood bed for something like that? Shame on you
and i might’ve picked the wrong fuckin person to speak to
lady, what the fuck? i never fucked his auntie!
i wouldn’t do that to him, even if she got a dumptruck ass
You are a strange man Lamar. All I saw was you two in his bed, very, very often.
I wouldn’t have known you felt anything for him had you not contacted me - and even now you still made a pass at her!
all we did was talk! n there’s nothing wrong wit admiring ass.
Whatever you say - oh wait…
I’m seeing something
goddammit
it better be good
I’m seeing you two again - and you’re right. You’re talking… about Franklin?
why else would we be in his room. if i was gon fuck his auntie we would’ve done it in hers or sumn
or in the livin room maybe.
I’m seeing something else now - he’s taken the place of his aunt. Oh. Wow…
what? what is it?
what do u see?
I… completely misinterpreted Franklin’s reading. It seems like it was supposed to be him in her place.
I’m not sure how he read it exactly - my best guess was that it wasn’t the latter.
And seeing as he no longer lived there, the vision got mixed up some how for both of us. You did have some connection to her though - don’t lie. That was most likely the problem.
i mean yeah. i hit on her a couple times
maybe thought it about it once or twice
More than that.
whatever. still, i ain’t do shit to her, ion stoop that low lady
Then I apologize. But I cannot fix this problem for you - you’re going to have to talk things out
Because right now, he’s assuming you’re acting weird because you actually *did* something with his aunt.
Fuck me man
this sucks
ur evil lady, u know that?
Hey, I’m not the one hanging out with his aunt. Now go to bed. I’ll deal with you another time.
hey wait
come back
SERVICE UNAVAILABLE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.
“God fuckin’ damn it not again!”
He chucked his phone against the wall, and began yelling into his pillow. He wasn’t gonna sleep right at all until he fixed this mess. Fucking psychic lady.
The next morning when Lamar passed by his mirror he audibly gasped. He looked like shit. He looked like he was definitely hiding something. And he knew he couldn’t see Frank today. His phone buzzed and as soon as he glanced down he felt the urge to throw it across the room. Speak of the fuckin’ devil. Franklin was fucking calling him. Taking a deep breath, he hit answer.
“Yo.”
“Hey L. How you feelin’?”
“Better. Thanks.”
“Yeah man. You know what was up wit’ you or…”
“I.. I think it was some sort of stomach bug man. Doin’ alright now tho.”
“Glad to hear.”
“So are you callin’ me for something or-“
“Actually yeah. I wanted to talk to you.”
“N-now?”
“Later. Sunset? That cool wit’ you?”
“Uh yeah, yeah. Heard it’s a full moon.”
“Dope. Been meaning to talk about this for a while anyway, and you always dragging me around to go see the sunrise.”
“Makes sense.” More sense than the shit he was in the middle of.
“See you then?”
“Of course dog.”
Click. Lamar dropped his shoulders, which had grown tense during the duration of the call. He didn’t have a whole lot of time to understand what he was dealing with better. He thought to himself that he couldn’t possibly be gay, because he loved himself some hoes now and then. But at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel the same around Franklin. Women and men… was that possible? Could you be into men AND women? He looked it up on his phone, and found a definition that fit him. Bisexual? That’s a thing? He thought it was just, gay and straight. That you couldn’t be both. But… at least that was accounted for. Putting his phone away, he moved on to the next part of the puzzle. What was he going to do when night time came? He couldn’t straight up tell Franklin. That would ruin everything. But how would he explain that he didn’t fuck his Aunt? He had to have a reason to back it up. Either way, he was screwed.
Night came too quick. Lamar kept pacing his room, not taking his eyes off his phone that rested on his bed. Any minute Frank would call him. Any fucking minute now. He still didn’t have a plan. What was he going to do? The phone lit up, buzzing loudly. Oh no. He practically dove to answer it, feigning a nonchalant tone. It wasn’t very impressive.
“Heyyy Frank. I was waiting for word from you.”
“Hey. I’m on my way, be ready.”
He swallowed the lump in his throat.
“See you in 5 L.”
Even after Frank hung up, he didn’t lower the phone from his ear. Oh shit. Oh shit, oh shit, ohshit. He was panicking now, phone dropping to the floor. Not noticing how long he was standing there, he heard a car pull up, then honk. Oh, shit. He raced out the door clumsily, trying to shove his phone in his pocket. Opening the car door, he was hit with the now overwhelming scent of Franklin. Something along the lines of weed and the same cologne he’d be buying for years. He remembered how Tanisha had gotten it for him back when they first started dating as a gift. The detail only made him more nauseous.
“Hey LD.”
“Hey.”
“Get in homie, I got a good spot for us, real sick view n shit.”
“Ah.. aight.”
The car ride wasn’t entirely awful for Lamar, listening to Collard Greens play loudly through the speakers. Franklin had taken them to some secluded spot near Vespucci beach, where no one would bother them. As they got out of the car, Lamar got a clear view of the sunset. It was even better than a sunrise. They found a bench to sit on, and Lamar felt like there wasn’t enough space between them. Did it magically fucking shrink as soon as they sat down? Shit. He cleared his throat, trying to seem neutral and not like he was internally freaking the fuck out.
“So uh… what’d you need to talk to me about?”
Franklin sighed, and Lamar’s stomach was in knots.
“It’s.. just somethin’ I been thinkin’ about for a while. I really jus’ didn’t know how to bring it up or whatever. But let’s jus’ enjoy the sunset right now.”
In contrast to how every sunrise went, the sunset contained shades of pinks and purples. There were also mixed shades of green, from the combination of yellow and blue clashing together. It was a miraculous sight. Frank was right, why didn’t they see sunsets more often? He watched the light sink down past the water, replaced by moonlight not much later. The two sat in silence, as stars filled the sky. The view had grown darker, but he could see the moonbeam reflect in the calm waves. He turned to Franklin, who had a serene expression on his face. He was blue in the moonlight, and it made Lamar feel all kinds of things he never felt for anyone before. Franklin side-eyed him, sitting upright. Here goes nothing.
“Lamar… I just. I gotta ask. I uh.. heard from someone,” Fucking psychic lady.
“That you uh.. and my.. Denise. My Aunt. Were uh.. you were at my house or something with her?”
Lamar eyes were wide. Franklin looked anywhere but him, clearly uncomfortable bringing the topic up. He kept tripping over his words, not knowing how to ask.
“Are.. and I won’t be mad if you are, but are you… and my Aunt.. Are y’all foolin’ around?” He scrunched his face up getting the words out. He almost looked hurt, like he was betrayed at the thought of it all.
“What?”
“Are you fuckin’ my Auntie or what man?!” He forced out.
“Franklin. What.”
He knew the psychic lady had said he got the wrong idea, but hearing it out loud from him was just mind boggling.
“Jesus Christ Franklin, no. I’m not! Why would you even think that?!”
Now he felt hurt. Did he really think Lamar would do something like that?
“You say shit about her all the fuckin’ time! I don’t even know why, because she’s fuckin’ nuts man! I have heard a million and one remarks about her from yo bitchass self!”
“Yeah but I would never-“
“And in my fuckin’ bed man?! Are you for real?!”
“I’m not fucking her! I never was!”
“That’s not what I fuckin’ heard dog! And don’t think I haven’t noticed how weird you’ve been actin’, all guilty n shit. I knew you were hidin’ shit from me, I jus’ didn’t think it’d be my absolute worst fuckin’ nightmare!”
“Franklin! For fucks sake bro that’s not why I’ve been actin’ so weird!”
“Then tell me, exactly, what the hell your problem is!”
Lamar’s mouth hung open, looking for what the fuck to say.
“Homie. It’s not like that. I’m seriously, seriously not fucking her. I’m… just-”
“What, Lamar?!”
“I think I’m in love.”
Shock covered Franklin’s face. Complete, utter shock. His face then twisted into a furious expression.
“Are you fuckin’ for real right now? You’re not fuckin’ my Aunt, you’re in love with her?! Fuck you man!”
“Wait, no that’s not what was I was implying-“
Franklin shot up from his seat, throwing his hands up.
“You’ve officially lost yo mind dog. You two enjoy each other. I’m fuckin’ out of here bro.”
“Franklin, wait-“
“No, no. I.. I need to go. I need to clear my mind or whatever the fuck, because I am just… unbelievably pissed right now.”
“But I’m not-“
“Save it, LD. I’ll… catch you later. Or something. Bye.”
Franklin walked back to his car, abandoning Lamar. Some how, this was worse than confessing to him. He felt sick to his stomach. How the hell was he gonna fix this mess? He remained seated, watching the water lap at the shore. He needed to fix this. And he knew, although he wish he didn’t have to, that’d he’d have to come clean. He didn’t want to ruin his friendship, and some how still did by just not blurting it out. Soon. Soon, after Franklin was ready to talk to him again. He prayed to a higher being, hoping desperately it’d all work out.
//end of pt 2!!!!! i’m sorry this is kinda angsty or whatever :( but i am gonna write a happy ending for this!! lamar deserves the world i love his character sm *sobs* (also sorry this part’s longer than the last one LMAO)
Raphael x Reader Fanfiction Oneshot. (TMNT 2014-2016)
Tumblr media
Everyone who knew Raphael, was fully aware of his very short temper. The turtle could get mad at just about anything. Presently, he was beating the crap out of a punching bag because Splinter basically grounded him for being reckless on his last patrol.
Leonardo was the leader, and although Raphael knew that, he was always going against his brother's orders. The butted heads so much that you were shocked the entire lair was still in one piece. So here you were, listening to Raphael rant about his disapproval of Splinter's decision to bench him for the night as punishment.
"And why the hell is Leo in charge. I can lead us better than him!" he scored another vicious punch to the bag, effectively knocking it off the rope. It flew through the air, crashing into the wall and you winced.
"He thinks he's so high and mighty, the oh gracious leader I'm sick of it!" He was now doing techniques in the air. Punching and kicking. You didn't need to be a genius to know he was imaging Leonardo's face where his foot was.
"Raph, maybe you just need to cool down. If Master Splinter thinks it's best you take a break you should listen. And I'm sure Leo isn't the only one responsible for what happened. " He turned to you, still fuming.
"So you're saying it's my fault!"
"That's not what I'm saying I just think that-"
"That what? Leo's better than me. Who's side are you on!"
"I'm not on anyone's side Raph, are you even listening to me?"
He left out an less than amused laugh. "I see what's happening. You have a thing for Leo don't you, no wonder you're always here. Why the hell am I even talking to you. Everyone's the same. Leo's so great he can never do no wrong well I'm sick of it." Raphael drew his sais, turning around and heading for his room.
"I don't need you, I don't need anyone."
Now you were pissed.
"DAMN IT RAPHAEL FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE WOULD YOU JUST LISTEN!!!" you exploded, and the raise in your voice made the red clad turtle turn to you.
"Why the hell would I come here and talk to you if I have a so-called thing for Leo! I respect you Raph, I respect all of you. Nobody's perfect. Not you and certainly not Leo. I just think that sometimes you get so blinded by your anger that you can't even see what's right in front of you." There was a double meaning behind those last words, but Raphael was so consumed by his alpha male ego that he probably didn't see it.
"(Y/N).." you just looked down, turning your back to him.
"Next time you need a friend to talk to maybe you should actually talk to them like a human being instead of tearing them down you jerk!" and just like that you were running out the lair. You passed Leonardo on the way out, not even looking up when he greeted you. When he stepped in he saw Raphael standing with a look of regret. Leonardo sighed, already putting the pieces together. He went into protective brother mode almost immediately.
"What did you say to her Raph." Somehow hearing Leo's tone just irritated him more.
"You don't need to tell me I screwed up. I already know. " He didn't say much more than that, heading for his room to deal with his problems the way he always did. Punch stuff.
~~~
"I shouldn't have said that, it was mean. He just wanted a friend to vent to. I should have been more supportive." You hadn't been to the lair since then. That was a couple days ago. You were more than a little embarrassed at your little outburst. "He did yell at me though. And I was just trying to help." your conflicting thoughts weren't really helping. What bothered you the most is the fact you'd almost confessed your feelings for him. Since meeting the turtles, the one that caught your attention immediately was Raphael.
His tough guy personality, resilient sense of justice. Not to mention his obvious love for his brothers. He tried to hide a lot of his feelings, but you saw through his little act. Underneath you had no doubt that he was a little softie. He was just too busy trying way too hard to prove himself when he was already amazing. In your eyes he was incredible. Mutant and all. You just wished he wasn't so blind.
"He's such an idiot sometimes." You were going to have to be the one to confront him, odds were he was pummeling another sandbag. One thing you knew about him was he didn't like admitting when he was wrong, and you were sure it would take a near miracle for him to apologize. So you would have to step up. "Maybe I should wait a few more days, just to make him sweat." you giggled under your breath. It would eat him alive if you stayed away for more than a week. You weren't that cruel though. It was already pretty late, you were free tomorrow, so you'd go first thing in the morning. You wouldn't fold either. If you didn't get an apology, then you would really give him an earful.
~The Next Day~
Grabbing three boxes of pizza as a peace offering, you made your way through the sewers, heading for the lair. Upon reaching your destination you pushed the door open. Mikey was sitting by the game console, as soon as his eyes caught sight of you, they lit up. Blue orbs brightened and a grin stretched on his lips. "Guys (Y/N) is back and she brought pizza!!" you weren't sure what he was more excited to see, you or the pizza.
You handed him a box, and he smiled, giving you a quick hug before devouring the delicious pizza. As you walked in you saw Leonardo walking over. You handed him a box, and he brought a hand down on your shoulder, taking the pizza in his free hand. "It's good to have you back. Raph's been angrier than usual." you laughed, because you could imagine it. " I wanted to make him squirm a little. Sorry if it caused you guys trouble." he shook his head. "Nah, it's fine. He deserves it." you smiled, going in the direction of Raph's room with the last box of pizza.
When you were standing directly in front of his door, you could hear noises coming from behind. He was definitely working out, and from the sounds of it, pretty intensely. You knocked on the door. " Go away Mikey!" you opened the door anyway, and you could hear the grunt of disapproval at your sudden entrance.
"I thought I said go away!" he yelled. When he saw who it was he stopped cold, just staring.
"(Y/N)..."
"I brought pizza, you sure you want me to go away?" His green eyes stayed on you for a few seconds before he turned away. You placed the box on his desk, closing the door. He wouldn't meet your eyes, and you knew why. He must have felt horrible for yelling at you, even worse that you avoided the lair because of it.
"Raph, you're gonna have to talk to me sooner or later. " he huffed, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "What do you want me to say? I'm sorry. There I said it. Happy." you frowned, because his apology wasn't sincere, and he still wouldn't look at you. You walked over, stepping across so you were directly in his line of sight. "Say it again." you urged. Now he couldn't avoid your stare. You folded your arms, tapping your foot impatiently. "Any day now."
"I'M SORRY OKAY! I'm a screw up, I always piss people off or drive them away. I can't help it, it's just something about me that messes everything up." for once his anger wasn't directed at someone else, but himself. It hurt to know that's what he thought. That he wasn't good enough. That all he was good for was ruining things. You reached out, taking his hand. He tensed, not really sure what you were going to do.
"You're not a screw up Raph. You just need to work on your very very very short fuse." you finished that statement with a smile, and slowly, a small smile rose to Raphael's lips. He really did look cute when he smiled. He was now wearing a different look, and it puzzled you.
"What did you say?" he muttered.
"W-What?"
"Just now, you said I looked cute." your cheeks tinted immediately. Did you really say that out loud?
Cover time.
"I-I just meant  it's refreshing from your usual scowl. I-I didn't mean anything by it!" you defended weakly. His smile was replaced by a growing smirk. He stepped forward, and you backed up, trying to create a little distance so you could think of a way to get out of this situation. When you back hit the wall, you panicked. He had you cornered. His arms came down, boxing you in.
"What did you mean when you said I'm blind to what's right in front of me?" Shit, you really hoped he would forget about that. You sort of thought it would go right over his head. Now that he was standing before you with those magnificently beautiful emerald eyes, you couldn't bring yourself to lie to him. Your hands were shaking slightly.
"Raph I..I'm in love with you.." it was said so quietly he almost didn't catch it. He was still, maybe too still for way too long. His expression was unreadable.
When you didn't get a response, you could practically hear your heart breaking. "I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to make things awkward. I-I shouldn't have said anything! I'm such an idiot!" every negative thought flooded into your mind, eyes getting a bit watery.
Said thoughts immediately stopped when you felt something soft touch your lips. You blinked, wondering if maybe your mind was playing tricks on you. Raphael couldn't have really been...kissing you could he?
It took you a full minute to fully register what was going on. When you finally did, Raphael pulled back. His eyes moved to the wall, a soft breath escaping his lips. Your hands reached up hesitantly, touching your lips in awe.
"I have a thing for you too." he mumbled.
"No way.." you pinched yourself, testing to make sure you weren't dreaming. Once you clarified it wasn't your imagination, you knew what you had to do.  Your hands lifted, grabbing a hold of the strap across his chest. You pulled him down, standing on your tiptoes to meet his lips. He was clearly taken by surprise by the action, but slowly welcomed it.
His hands reached down, wrapping around your waist and pulling you off the ground. He lifted you to his height, kissing you with merit. You were completely lost in the softness of his lips. Hands locking around his neck. You responded, just as eagerly, legs finding purchase at his waist. When your back touched the wall for the second time that day you moaned, unable to control yourself or your sounds. Raphael grunted, pulling away for air quite reluctantly. You were breathing heavier than you thought possible, chest pressed to his plastron.
"I guess I was dead wrong about you having a thing for Leo."
"So wrong." you corrected, still partially dazed from the kiss. He leaned in slightly, teasing you. You groaned, wishing he'd just close the distance instead of torture you.
"I found your weakness." he spoke, head tilting to press a kiss to your neck. Your hands gripped his shoulders, letting out shallow breaths. "Raph.." you shuddered when his lips touched your exposed skin.
"Damn, if you keep saying my name like that we're going to have a problem." he leaned back up, hopefully to reconnect your lips. You closed your eyes awaiting the feel of his plump lips. Just as he was about to close the distance the door to his room opened.
"Raph, (Y/N) I finally got to the final stage!" Mikey's excited yell made you both turn. You blushed, and Raph looked infuriated. When Mikey saw your position he blinked. "Oh, sorry for disturbing you lady and gentleman. Please, carry on. " he walked out backwards, as soon as he was gone you heard him yelling.
"Guys Raph and (Y/N) are making out!!" Raph growled and you were sure your face was every shade of red. "I'm gonna kill him." Raph moved to step away from the wall to release you, but you grabbed his head, turning his attention back to you.
"Later." you ordered, smashing your lips to his. You'd dreamed of this too long to let Mikey ruin your moment. Raphael certainly wasn't complaining.

Prompt: Secret Revealed TMNT verse: 2012 Characters: Karai, Splinter, Leonardo, Raphael (brief appearance), Michelangelo (brief appearance), Donatello (brief appearance), Shredder (mentioned) Relationships: No romantic relationships. Family feels - Karai & Splinter & Leo & Donnie & Raph & Mikey AO3 Link: Here
Very light angst, mostly in talk about a sad past but the story is focused on a more hopeful future. Mostly comfort. Vent fic.
Summary: After her first few days of living in the lair, Karai thinks about what it means to finally be home. Set during S2E21, "Vengeance is Mine"
Other Notes:  I'm not going to lie, this fic isn't that great and the writing is pretty weak compared to my other work. The ideas are all over the place and yeah... but I wrote it after something shitty happened in my own life and it was me attempting to get my own thoughts into focus. But vent fics can be awful I decided because this is really personal to me. This also only vaguely pertains to the prompt but it inspired it, even if I strayed a lot from my initial idea. The secret revealed was Karai's real identity of being Splinter's daughter. Honestly tho this is not very “bad things happen” but oh well. I already wrote it
____________________________
When Karai was young, she always wished for a beautiful future.
She never would have admitted it; no, dreams of hope and light were scoffed upon in the Foot, dismissed as childish fantasies by all (and Karai had never been a child). So when asked what she wanted in the future, Karai always stated the same thing: she wanted her father to rule. A perfect future would be ruling as his second in command, watching the Foot dominate the planet after they had finally gotten their revenge on the man who ruined their lives... Hamato Yoshi. That was her vision for the future.
But privately, she dreamed.
She dreamed of a day her father would stop pushing and forcing her ahead, when he would be proud of the woman she had become. He would settle down, take a break from his plans for revenge (if he couldn't retire completely) and he would breathe too. They would start to live, and her father would listen to her for once. Of course, they would never leave the Foot Clan—she loved it too much for that—but maybe, just maybe, they could stop searching for revenge and could experience life too. Maybe her father would listen to her when she swore this obsession would get them all killed... and maybe he would trust her word as much as she trusted him.
She dreamed of a chance for peace. She dreamed of hope, of family, and of trust.
But never in a million years had she dreamed of finally finding it in the sewers of New York City.
"Haha! Got you, Donnie, I got you good." Mikey taunted a now soaking Donnie, the shredded remains of a pink water balloon still covering his skin. Karai grinned as she watched Michelangelo dance around him, reaching out to poke his nose. "You can't beat Doctor Prankenstein, son!"
Donnie slapped his hand away, glaring. "That's the third time today, Mikey! Where are you even getting these? You- Hmmph!"
Cutting off his words, Mikey slapped a hand over Donnie's mouth, shushing him insistently. A glance behind her told Karai what had caught the young turtle's eye—Raphael had just returned home and was heading into the dojo. Mikey grinned towards Donnie, letting go of him to pull out another water balloon from behind his back.
"Don't say a word!"
Donnie sighed and rolled his eyes, already turning around to head back to his lab. "It's your funeral," He called over his shoulder as the mischievous grin grew across Mikey's face.
And Karai leaned back on her hands, watching as the turtle ran from the room to find Raphael. Watching the turtles had become a favorite, and most amusing, pastime of Karai's since she'd moved into the lair a few days before, after Leo and his team had saved her from her so-called "father". Without the rigorous training and missions of the Foot, she had found that she had a lot more free time on her hands. Since she hadn't had the chance to develop much as far as "hobbies" go, she'd taken to simply observing the lair and the people in it. And in that time spent observing, she had discovered a few very interesting things.
The turtles were a true family. They acted like it in private too, and it had never been an act to try to draw her in like she had supposed at one point. They truly acted like the brothers they were to each other.
"Your brothers," A quiet voice in her mind reminded her, "They're your family too."
And it was true. Since first stepping foot into their lair, Karai had felt more at home than ever before, and the family had welcomed her into their fold without question. All of them had. Even Raphael, who Karai had been sure still hated her, was making an effort to treat her as his sister. He struggled, sure, and all of them were still a little unsure of where she fit into their little puzzle, but they were trying as hard as they could. And even better? They were happy about it. The change to their family was a positive one.
And Karai felt safe for the first time in her life.
"You watching the show?"
Karai looked up to see Leo approaching her, a friendly smile on his face. She frowned ever so slightly in confusion. "Show?" She asked, looking towards the blank TV screen.
"The Raph and Mikey show," Leo clarified. "I saw Mikey head in there with that water balloon. Any second now, he'll be running out here screaming with Raph right behind him."
Karai laughed, "I wasn't planning on it, but that does sound fun. Sure, I'm here for the show-"
"MIKEY!!"
No sooner had the words left her mouth did the event happen. Mikey ran out of the dojo yelling with a soaked and angry Raphael following right behind, the two running circles around the main room without a care to mask the sound of their steps. They ran and ran, getting closer to being caught and shoving the other off before running even faster. Eventually, they retreated into the kitchen, still yelling and screaming the whole way.
Karai and Leo shared a look before they dissolved into laughter.
"This what you expected?" Leo asked her. Karai paused.
"Not really," She admitted, "It's definitely... different from the families I'm used to. But it's a nice surprise."
"Different?"
"Not many people were really a family in the Foot," Karai said, "Sure, every once in a while there were a pair of new recruits who were siblings, or a mother who brought her son into the clan. And, of course, me and..." She let those words trail off, not entirely sure how to refer to the man she had thought was her father for so many long years. He was the Shredder, of course, but referring to him in the context of 'families in the Foot' didn't feel right anymore. She shook her head. "But no one actually acted like it. No one cared for the others as much as everyone does here."
A gentle silence drifted over the lair, and Leo looked down with a slight frown. The hesitance on his face was obvious as he considered his next words, unsure how to ask whatever it was he wanted to say. Karai raised one brow.
"What?" She prompted. Leo avoided her eyes.
"Was it off-putting?" He asked slowly, "Just... it sounds like a big change, I guess, and a lot to take in after a life with Shredder. Was it hard to deal with all at once?"
Was it a big change? Yes, of course, but not in the way Karai had expected. When she escaped that prison the Shredder had locked her in, she expected it to be like a bandage being ripped off. Harsh, painful, and burning before the pain subsided to reveal healed skin. While it would hurt, it'd be worth it in the end, and the relief of living in a place she was finally loved in would hit her like a tsunami and wash her away into a brand new life.
But it wasn't like that at all.
The change was big, but it was so gentle and soft, she almost hadn't noticed it. One day, she was in a cold cell being lied to that she was loved by the parent who locked her out in the cold. The next, she was in warmth and care and comfort. She was surrounded by those who were willing to put in the effort to love her and she was happy. The change wasn't a tsunami washing away the pain at all... No, it was a warm blanket being pulled up to her chest that wrapped her in love so slowly that she wasn't sure how she ever could have ever survived without it.
"It wasn't off-putting at all," She said, turning towards her younger brother and smiling. "I promise. You guys have made the change easy."
Leo grinned, relieved. "Good." He said, before both of the two jumped at the crash heard from the kitchen.
"Raph! It was funny!"
"What have I told you?!"
Leo grimaced, glancing towards the kitchen and sighing. "I better go deal with that," He said, standing up. "But after patrol tonight, we're bunking out here to watch a couple of movies. If it goes well, I mean. You should come too."
"This is where I've been sleeping anyways, do I really have a choice?" Karai teased. Leo blanked, looking five seconds away from blabbing an apology, so Karai rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I was just messing with you. I'll be there, Don't worry."
"Oh, good, that's great!" Leo grinned, "Then-"
"DOCTOR PRANKENSTEIN STRIKES AGAIN!"
"YOU HAD ANOTHER ONE?! I'M GONNA-"
Leo groaned and sped off towards the kitchen, already shouting the two's names. Karai rose to her feet, but otherwise stayed where she was, just watching and running over the plans for later that night in her head. Patrol would be nice, but she'd be lying if she said she wasn't excited to come back afterward to watch a movie. She never did that in the Foot, but here in the lair, she could. Right after she came home-
Karai froze.
Home. She had called the lair home.
Because this place really did feel like home, safer than anywhere she had lived before in her life. Even as a child with who she had thought was her family, something was always out of place, something was always wrong.
But here... it all just clicked into place. She fit in instantly in ways the Shredder had told her she never would.
Almost everything was perfect. Everything was fitting into place.
"Miwa?"
And all that was left was just one simple problem she had.
"Father," Karai turned around to face Splinter, looking up to see his smiling face, full of acceptance and pride, filling her heart with warmth in a way she never had known was possible. To think, she had hated him for all of these years because of the lies someone else had told her.
She almost hated herself for it. Sometimes she really did.
"You look troubled, my child," Her father frowned. "What is the matter?"
"I"m not troubled, I'm just..." Karai sighed, looking down. "I'm mad, I guess, at what we lost."
"We may have lost many battles, yes, but we have not lost the war. In fact-"
"No, no, not that," Karai shook her head, gesturing blindly with her hands. Was the war with the Foot and Kraang important? Of course, and she'd spent many long hours thinking about it. But that wasn't what was bothering her this time. "Not lost battles, but..." She hesitated. She'd lost so much... Lost family, lost truths, lost homes... How could she sum those billions of feelings up in only a few words? Words could only get you so far, and the tornado of thoughts in her mind could never be tamed long enough to escape her head—not properly, anyway.
"What do you mean, then?" Splinter gently pressed, "What have we lost?"
A moment of hesitance, and then a soft sigh. "Lost time," Karai finally said, "With us, I mean."
Splinter didn't reply at first, the seconds easing into minutes and hastening into what felt like decades. Karai understood why; how were you supposed to reply to something like that? How were you supposed to take that, when your own daughter was taken by someone else, fed lies about you her entire life, and taught to hate you?
"I mourn our lost time together as well," Splinter finally replied, "I wish I could have seen you grow up. But what's past is past. What matters is here and now, and that we are together again today. We must not neglect the present in grief over the past."
"I just feel so stupid," Karai said, shaking her head. "There were so many obvious signs he was lying and that he was the bad guy. But I missed all of them and I- I hated you, Father. I didn't believe you when you tried to tell me the truth either. I ignored you and fought you, but you were right all along."
The self-hatred hit her all at once, and she sunk back down to the ground in defeat. When she spoke again, her words came out in a broken whisper.
"How could you ever forgive me?"
"You were a child, Miwa," Splinter leaned forward, eyes darkening in anger. Not at her, that much was clear, but a distantly directed anger towards Oroku Saki. "What happened was not your fault, and you must never blame yourself. You were lied to and manipulated. But you, my daughter, never had a choice, even when you were told you were the one in control. This is not your doing."
"But-"
"It is not your fault," Splinter stared at her sadly, "You couldn't have known."
"But what if I had?" Karai pressed, "The hints were there. If I had figured it out, maybe all these years wouldn't have been wasted. We could have been together for more. Then maybe I wouldn't have been-"
A leader in the Foot Clan. A talented manipulator. A vengeful warrior. A twisted mind. An ugly heart.
"...Wouldn't have turned out the way I did," She finished lamely, eyes cast downwards. "I"m not Miwa, Father. I'm not who you wanted to raise me to be."
With that shameful admittance, Karai let the room drift into silence, frozen in fear. If she had said something that disrespectful to the Shredder, told her old father she wasn't who he wanted her to be, she would have been punished. Beaten, bruised, forced to train until her fingers bled... but through all of that, there was comfort in knowing what to expect. There were very few surprises the Shredder could inflict on her that she didn't already know the pain of.
But what would her true father do?
"Karai,"
Her eyes shot up to him in shock.
"When you were first born, I will admit I did have a very different picture of your future in mind," Her father chuckled, "But I never wanted to decide who you were. That is something no one but you can decide, and it is your choice and your choice alone what kind of person you will be. You were taught many cruel things, but that is part of growing up. You must take what you learned and decide for yourself what you will keep and what you will get rid of. But, my daughter, you must understand this."
He set both hands on her shoulders, meeting her eyes directly. There was nothing but pure sincerity in his words.
"You, as you are now, are wonderful. I would not trade you for anyone else. You are my daughter, Karai, and I am very proud."
The tears started to well up in her eyes and Karai sucked in a deep breath, desperately trying to hold them at bay. To break was dishonorable, but to cry in front of another individual was beyond even that. It was a horribly punishable offense that she, in her 16 years of living, had never once broken. She couldn't now. She had been taught better than that.
But then Splinter opened his arms and her breath hitched.
The Shredder had taught her many things, but acceptance and love were not one of them. Maybe her real father was right. Maybe she could throw away some of the things he had taught her without getting rid of herself, because she could decide for herself what was right and what was wrong.
That teaching, she decided, she would throw out for good. A tear ran down her cheek.
"It is okay," Splinter whispered as she fell into his arms, hugging him tightly for dear life. He held her right back. "It is okay, my daughter, you are safe here."
And she was.
She was home.

I woke up in an unfamiliar room, cardboard boxes littered the ground, a few books scattered on the dresser, and familiar, dirty clothes were piled in a corner. Then I realized; I was in my own room. But how? I had fallen asleep next to Raph. On his bed. With him. I sat up in my bed, flipped the blankets off of myself and stumbled to the closed door. I turned the knob, but it didn’t budge. I pushed and pulled a few times before panic started to set in. Had the guys locked me in? But why? Did they really think I would jeopardize Raph’s health? Was he okay? Did something happen?
A few minutes ticked by. Five. Ten. Thirty, as my panic slowly ebbed into fury. My short, quick breaths turned into deep heaves as it all clicked together.
Leo.
He must have carried me in here before they moved Raph into the lab and then locked me in! Like an animal! Something not worthy of trust!
I seethed, pacing back and forth until I couldn’t stand the silence any longer. I banged on the door, yelling for someone to let me out. It didn’t take long for the culprit himself to appear.
“Y/n.”
“Leo,” I ground out through clenched teeth. “Let me out.”
“I can’t do that,” he almost sounded regretful about it. “You know I can’t.”
“I call bull! Tell me the truth,” I demanded. “Why can’t I go see Raph? I’ll go through all the precautions. I won’t even touch him if you say I can’t. I’ll do-”
“Raph will flip out the moment he lays eyes on you. That’s why,” he said low, like he was trying to stay calm. “He needs to rest and not be stressed in any way when he wakes and if he sees you- well, I’m certain he’ll go on a rampage.”
“Wh-what do you mean?” I whimpered, barely keeping my tears at bay. “You me-mean he ha-hates m-me?” My knees buckled and I hit the unforgiving floor- hard, but I didn’t feel the jarring impact. I was numb to all pain by this point. The stress, the anxiety, the worry, the fear that Raph would never wake- It consumed me down to my soul.
“No! Shell no!” Leo banged on the door a few times, grabbing my attention as tears streamed silently down my cheeks. “Raph- he-he- ugh! He cares about you more than anything, that’s all-”
“He does?” I sniveled, unbelieving. I know Raph cared for my safety and did everything he could to keep me from being harmed, but caring about me more than his weights? His sais? His father and brothers? I doubted that. He could barely stand my presence except on movie nights for reasons I would never understand.
“Yeah. Of course he does, Y/n,” Leo cooed through the cold, metal door, cutting through my thoughts. “If he didn’t, then I wouldn’t have locked you in your room.”
“Well,” I dried my wet cheeks, sniffling. “I guess I have lost a little weight.”
“Yeah….” He was so quiet and sounded so unsure- so unlike himself- that I barely heard him through the door. “A little.”
I searched the room for my closet door mirror until I found it laying sideways between the wall and some boxes. I dragged it out, leaning it against the wall. The girl in the reflection barely looked like me. I lost weight, more than a little. Before, I had a few extra pounds. Enough that covered my bony joints and gave me some curves in the right places, along with a small pudge, cushy thighs, and arms that looked stronger than they really were. Now though, I could see those bony protrusions and my pudge was gone, leaving my stomach concave. My pants-held by a belt- swallowed my thighs and my once strong looking arms were sticks. I had become sickly pale, the bags under my eyes held truth to the fact that I hadn’t gotten a decent night’s sleep in weeks. Even my hair had become thin and brittle- mousy.
“Y/n?” I heard Leo call out, door still closed and locked.
I ignored him, now understanding why it would be bad if Raph saw me like this as I sunk onto bed. But I had wanted this, hadn’t I? To keep him from leaving my side. To keep him from going topside again. To keep him safe.
Still, I hoped it would be enough.
“Y/n?” Leo peeked his head in the door, looking concerned. “I’ll keep you updated on everything, okay? And-”
“Don’t tell him about- about-” I started, a little frantic and unsure of what I was trying to say. What, exactly, did I want to keep from Raph? Leo let me ruminate in silence. “Everything,” I breathed out, staring down at my skeletal hands in my lap.
“Everything?” He stepped into my room.
“Yeah,” I nodded, unwilling to meet his gaze. “About moving in, my job, my sleeping habits- everything.”
“Okay, I’ll make sure we don’t tell him anything. In the meantime, though, how about I get you something to eat?”
“Sure,” I mumbled, lying down. “You sure I have to stay locked in here?”
“Yeah,” regret tinged his tone once more. “I’m sorry. I don’t want Raph barging in when he’s first able to.”
~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been three days since Raph woke up and he had yet to hear even a peep out of you. Donnie had expanded his and Mikey’s plastic quarantined room to cover half his lab. Enough so Raph could walk around a little now that his strength was coming back. Granted, he could only walk a few laps before his breathing got heavy, but every day a bit of his strength was coming back- at mutant speed- and he was more than thankful. If only a certain little lady would come to visit, then everything would be going perfect.
The first couple of days he thought maybe you were at work when he was awake or maybe his brothers hadn’t told you that you could visit yet. But it was close to the end of day three as he got up again to walk a few laps and you had yet to show. His patience was growing thin. It was like pulling teeth to get Mikey to even mention your name.
“Where is she?” He grumbled before glaring at his youngest brother across the room. Donnie had brought in one of his extra monitors and Mikey’s game system for entertainment. Raph got bored of it real fast, but that was okay with him because he needed to focus on getting his strength back so he could hunt you down- make sure you were unharmed and well. He had to see you with his own eyes. He was starting to think something had to be wrong or that you didn’t want anything to do with him anymore with the way all his brothers were skirting around the subject.
“At least tell me she’s not injured,” he shouted at Mikey.
“Who?” He asked, acting dumb.
“You know who, Numbskull,” Raph marched in Mikey’s direction, growling. “Y/n.”
Raph noticed his brother flinch before he answered. “She’s fine, bro. Donnie’s just worried some kinda human bacteria mi-”
“I know what Donnie said!” Raph growled intimidatingly, grabbing his brother by the shell, forcing him to pay attention. “But the way ev’ryone’s been actin’ ya’d think she died or somethin’.”
“Look, Raph,” Mikey held his hands up in surrender, voice shaky with fear. “It’s not my fault, okay? I was told not to say anyth-”
“What are ya talkin’ about!” Raph roared in his face, the commotion had his other brothers slamming the lab door open.
“What’s going on?” Leo demanded, using the tone that his brothers knew not to deny.
Raph obliged all too willingly as he shoved his youngest brother away, knocking him off balance. “Mikey here says tha’ he’s not suppose’ ta be tellin’ me somethin’.”
“Oh,” eerie silence reigned over the room.
“It’s not cos of the bacteria thing, is it? That’s not why she hasn’ been ta visit,” Raph filled the silence, his voice confident.
“No,” Donnie replied in defeat. Raph saw Leo’s head snap to their brother, even through the thick plastic he knew all too well the daggers Donnie received.
“Tell me!” Raph boomed, wishing he had a table to flip over before continuing in his most menacing voice. “Or I’m gonna rip this plastic wall ta shreds and find her. Even if I have ta rip New York apart brick by brick.”
“I’ll tell you, Raph,” Leo was quick to acquiesce. “Just, please, don’t freak out.”
“I won’t freak out.”
“You say that now, but you haven’t see her-”
“Donnie!” Leo cut off his brother from saying more. “You’re not helping.”
“Sorry,” Donnie mumbled, shuffling his feet.
“I’m waiting,” Raph stated impatiently.
“She doesn’t look like how you remember, brother.”
“Whaddya mean? Who hurt her? I’m gonna kill the-”
 “Nobody hurt her, okay?” Leo extolled quickly and waited until Raph grunted in understanding. “Just listen until I’m done and don’t freak out.”
Another grunt. Leo sighed, wishing he had more time to get your weight back up, but you hadn’t been eating as much as he would have liked since the transplant. Barely anything at all, really. So, he was forced to break the promise he made to you that day and spilled everything. How you cried- inconsolable- when you heard the news of his injuries. That they had to pry you away from his side when they bathed him. How you didn’t sleep more than a few hours a night, if that. That you were barely eating and that each of them had caught you, at least once, retching the food back up. About your job, losing your apartment, moving into the lair- everything. His brothers stayed silent as Leo spoke, not once interrupting. It was unnerving, to say the least, to see Mikey, normally so full of life, curl in on himself, to see the faraway look in his eyes as he remembered it all.
Raph didn’t want to believe a word of anything his brother said, but the more he spoke, the more he knew Leo wouldn’t lie to him about someone he cared about. Especially when it came to you. His heart grew heavier with every passing word as his fists clenched tighter and tighter.
This was his fault. If only he had seen that stupid blade. Then you’d be happy. Then he would have already told you how he feels about you- that you’re his everything. That without you, life was dark and meaningless. Maybe you two would be together. Maybe you and him would be on a rooftop somewhere, looking out at the city lights after eating a midnight picnic he set up for a date. Maybe he would be holding you tight instead of being stuck in quarantine with his ugly mug of a brother.
“It’s like, without you, she didn’t wanna live,” Leo’s somber words cut through his self-deprecating thoughts as he finished the heart-wrenching tale. “She became this….empty shell. Void of any cares unless it came to you.”
“She-” Raph swallowed the lump in his throat. He couldn’t believe what he was about to ask. “She hasn’t hurt ‘erself, has she?”
“No,” Leo was quick to reassure. “We were getting worried she might, though. So we took precautions.”
“Good,” he grunted out, thankful his family kept you as safe as they could.
“She really cares about you, Raph,” Donnie spoke softly, reverently.
Those words filled him with hope. Even as Raph told himself you probably would’ve been the same way had any of them been in his place. But he wanted to believe that he was special. That he was the only one you would wither away for.
For now though, he would wait to see you. He needed to process everything Leo told him and be certain he could control his reaction when he first saw you again. He refused to lose it when he saw you again. Refused to lose control. He didn't want to scare you away before he had you in his arms.
