Rewatched Bumblebee movie so Alert: random thoughts of sleep deprived person go--

Bumblebee has hella powerful legs. Not only when he uses them in fight, but also when he jumps.

I just love how Bumblebee uses his legs in combat, like hell yeah dude! They may catchin' those hands but they ain't catchin' those legs (they actually did couple of times but shhhh).

Fight sequences are muah. Love them, the best ones in Transformers movies I think. I'm not sure but I also think they were storyboarded/planned by animator so if it's truth it does explain things lol.

Bumblebee is smaller and weaker than the Decepticons he has come to fight, and he doesn't just use their weight or size against them, but all the time seems to be looking for an advantage in his surroundings. This is likely not very unique to him, but it clearly stands out when his opponents the moment they realized their advantage wanted to simply overpower Bee.

Also love how everyone is trying to use their alt-mode during combat.

They could have done more with the fact that G1 Bumblebee was said to like swimming, and Charlie was swimmer in the past (specifically was in school's dive team if I remember correctly). Like some kind of bonding scene? Whatever, it was just such an opportunity. (And I know we had this seconds-post-end-battle scene but it is not what I'm talking about at all if it makes sense???)

Shatter often folds her hands behind her back in a gesture that I personally associate with a business woman (also in base scene she and military man both hold hands that way when talking so yeah). I feel that this reinforces her image as the leader/representative of the duo when Dropkick maintains a looser posture. Just cool body language.

I didn't pay attention to this in the movie, but I was reminded of how someone noticed the Autobot symbol on Shockwave's arm. If that's true, they could make it cool to pull it up under Senator Shockwave's MTMTE-style backstory, or maybe some variation of the spy (before he was known as a Decepticon, especially a high-level one) in TFA style. As far as I know the entire thing was because of recycling model parts but still.

I don't like Bumblebee's camaro root-mode. Idk, he was all round and huggable almost the entire movie, even when he had jeep as alt-mode, and then he is all blocky :((. Maybe it's because even as jeep he still has his chest mostly flat and as camaro it moves so much forward. His Cybertronian root-mode also has chest moved forward a bit but it's a lot more aerodynamic (you know what I mean) so he still looks round. Like, he is huggable all the time and then his camaro-boob looks like it would cut you. Idk how to say it, hope you get what I'm trying to communicate anyway :')

I really like how Decepticons were casually showing off that they are Triplechangers. I understand why they were doing this from storytelling point of view but it's still funny from in-universe one. ("Look how cool and badass we are.") I'm probably turning it up but oh well.

Also this will be a bit off but I never liked the idea of hammer as Bumblebee's weapon. Like his thing almost always was being small, kinda fast and not very strong and boom. They give him one of the weapons that is most effective welded by someone big, strong who doesn't loose much fighting weapon that kinda slows them down a bit (I think hammer does but you can correct me lol) because damn, this thing is big, at least in his serwos.

Plus, still on the hammer's topic, actual war hammers had this spike on the one end of the head so you could actually pierce armor of your opponent or just your opponent but not this one. This one is just for smashing like your mom's meat mallet. Ok, I'm done with this saltyness lol

But really, hammer as weapon doesn't fit Bee at all. Or it's just me.

The water swirled around him, unrelenting in its grasp as he kicked himself forward, pushing through the water, desperately trying to swim away, to escape- to free himself from those chasing him.

He glances back, squinting to see through the usually crystalline waters- they're cloudy now, with kicked up sand and silt, making it harder for him to see and spot his enemies- the people still pursuing him. But it also means that it’s harder for them to see him as well.

He watches as a dark shape shoots up, floating on the surface for a few moments before ducking back under, beginning the search again. His own lungs are beginning to burn now, but he can't rise to the surface- to do so would be to seal his own fate, and he’s hardly about to go down with little more than half a lungful of air and several people after his head.

It’s thirty minutes. Thirty minutes, and everyone has gone mad over it.

He pushes himself back a little further, ignoring the burning of his lungs and the aching of his chest. He doesn't particularly want to drown- not exactly a dignified end, but it would mean that no-one gets those precious minutes. They’d be tossed down the drain, out of reach.

Someone new splashes into the water, bubbles fizzling around them as they begin to look about, peering into the dusty depths of the ocean.

Scott places a hand on the rock beside him, leaning a little forward. Watches as Martyn continues to look around, the bright green of his outfit like a beacon drawing Scott closer.

He glances over at the searching people, watches as they continue to swim further and further out, fanning out to cover a greater distance. It’s almost as though they're working together, but Scott knows they would sooner turn on each other than let someone else get the prize of his death.

He glances back at Martyn again, the man still bobbing near the surface, still glancing around for him.

The promise of earlier echoes in his mind, and with that, he pushes off, escaping from the dark nook he had tucked himself into.

He keeps low, aware of how easily someone could see him- glance down when he’s in the wrong spot and he’ll give himself away before he can even reach Martyn. He swims, lungs burning, arms aching- his vision is beginning to go spotty but he grasps onto the faint tether of consciousness.

He waits, pauses, even as his brain demands he surface, that he take a lungful of air and drive this dizziness away. He waits, bides him time, watches until Martyn dips below the surface again.

He pushes up from the seabed, ignoring the prickles of pain as sharp stones and shells dig into the bare soles of his feet. He ignores it all, because he has only one shot at this, and by the gods he is going to make it count.

He grasps Martyn’s arm as he surfaces, pulling them around so Martyn’s body shields him from the other yellows, keeping him out of sight for just a moment more. Though he doubts it will last long- someone will see him in a moment, hiding behind Martyn beside their island, and the moment will be shattered. But a moment is all he needs.

“Scott,” Martyn gasps out. His eyes are wide, and Scott thinks he may have taken him by surprise. He blinks it away moments later and then he just looks worried. Worried for Scott. “Scott,” Martyn hisses, “what are you doing? Get back in there-” Martyn pushes at his shoulder, attempting to submerge him again, glancing back at the other yellows. “They're gonna see you.”

Scott holds on, unwilling to be shoved back under the water.

“I know,” he breathes, slipping out of Martyn’s hold, though he doesn't stray far. “But they're going to catch up eventually, I can't spend the rest of my time running.”

“That doesn't mean you should give yourself up!” Martyn glances back, as though worried someone may have heard him. “They've gone rabid over thirty minutes, who knows what else they'll do.”

“But you haven't.”

“I haven't what?”

“Gone rabid over the thirty minutes.” He brushes some of Martyn’s hair back from his face. His headband hardly does anything to help keep his hair out of his face, and he’s teased him for it several times. “Which is why I'm here.”

“Just because I'm not gonna kill you doesn't mean they won't.”

“I don't expect them to give up,” he doesn't want to say it. Doesn't want to ask Martyn to do this. But he’s running out of options as quickly as those yellows are running out of air, and he doesn't want to take his chances. “Not until I'm yellow.”

“Scott,” Martyn’s guessed, Scott assumes. His eyes are sad, and his voice is pained. He looks like he might cry. “C’mon, man. You deserve better than this. You deserve better.”

“I…alright.” Martyn drops his head, though he still pulls his sword free. It glimmers in the light, rasping as Martyn pulls it from its scabbard. Scott swallows because- he hadn't thought he would get this far, honestly. He didn't think Martyn would get this far, but they're getting closer and they don't have a choice-

Martyn drives it in swiftly, pushing it up to the hilt. It brings them closer together than before, pressed chest to chest now, Martyn’s head leaning against his own. Martyn’s eyes are wide, staring at him as though he’s seen a ghost.

He’s hardly far off from one now. The pain is numbing quickly, though he doubts that’s because the wound is healing. It’s too large- he can feel it, twisting his insides around even as Martyn slides it out as gently as possible.

“You deserved better,” Martyn murmurs, though the rest of his words become a garbled mess as his ears begin to ring. He almost thinks he hears the words my king, though he doesn't have long to consider it before respawn is sucking him in, pulling him into its inky depths to be remade.

So one of my cool friends showed me yuri on ice today and it was incredible i mean i laughed and smiled and was happy the whole time what a treat it's an incredible anime really and it makes me think abt stuff

Like in my head it gave me the same feeling as jojo's bizarre adventures. Yeah these two couldn't be farther from each other in pretty much every way but they talk abt masculinity in a similar fashion. Like men can express themselves really loudly and let their emotions shine through and it doesn't make them less men. Men can dress and present themselves the way they want, it doesn't make you less of a person. Also you know how stereotypically manly characters just don't move a lot ? I love how in both of these animes men stim, jump with excitement and let joy overwhelm themselves a lot. I love how they LOVE, befriend, socialize with each other. They also have the right to hapiness. Masculine men are often depicted as sad, serious, unbothered, not caring but I love when media show men just having fun, smiling, genuinely feeling joy and actually showing it in the most sincere way. In yuri even yurio the most "serious" character has his moment where he just dances with passion at the party on episode 10 and its SO CUTE. I would argue that the most maculine man on the show is actually victor, because it's his confidence and mastery of his movements and presence in space as well as his wits that make him very attractive besides his looks. BUT his character development is really centered around the way he expresses his feeling, at the beginning he's a player with yuri but throughout the show he just lets go and jump and stim with pride and love when he sees yuri perform, he even blushes when yuri takes confidence and that just breaks the illusion in the best way possible it's really amazing. On the jjba side of things IDK now I feel like characters like josuke, mista, narancia or even jean pierre Polnareff would feel really at home in a yuri on ice type skating competition and I'm imagining things now it's pretty cool

In the end masculinity (and most of gender roles) is best treated when we just see how stupid and fictional it really is, how it's just a prison cell that keeps us for just being how we want to be, waiting to be shattered into a million pieces. I love this kind of show, I feel like they just speak to me directly as a cis man, telling me to just let go of traditional masculinity in every way possible. I'm really happy I could see a show that felt this important today so thanks julia !!

I do think thor is being honest about how he thought the world of loki, but never enough to really look, to truly see his brother. never cared enough to dig deeper. and the mistakes loki made have just made it easier for thor to further ignore the deeper problems with his brother. you can love someone dearly, but still never truly see them. I wonder if knowing of thor's love makes it better or worse for loki. to be so loved, but for it to still not be enough to have been seen, to have been helped at all. or easier for it to be a lie and never loved at all, for it makes more sense to loki, because if you loved him why would you never dig deeper? why could you not see what was wrong? what was being done to him? how he felt? maybe that's why he was so adamant in the past, brushing thor's words away because otherwise that would mean even then it just wasnt enough. and it's more familiar to him too. the feeling he sits in, the knowledge that he's not loved or understood, that those around him think so little of him. and sometimes familiarity is easier than taking a new and brighter path.

he could be more. but it's hard to do that when everyone around you sees the worst in you and your stuck in a shadow your entire life. ignored. it's why I love mobius so much. he sees what others don't in loki and actually pushes him to be better and is there for him. mobius is truly the number one loki apologist.

In a way I get where he's coming from in his hypotheticals.

If the killing stops after a person is killed that doesn't mean they're the killer. They could stop whenever they want.

And that person could survive and than go on to influence the rest of the foundation.

But it doesn't justify mass murder nor whatever the hell he's doing.

You quickly worked to undress each other until she was in a matching set of bras and panties and you stood in your bra and pants, she slowly undid the button sliding them down to the floor and kneeling before you, she slowly stood before you as you looked down at her, you lifted her chin placing a kiss on her lips as she wrapped her arms around you.

Ah, where do I begin explaining my never ending adoration for Lucerys?

I have to admit that at first sight, when he appeared on episode 8, I hadn’t paid much attention to him until ep. 10; and what had drawn me the most to him initially, was his very endearingly sweet personality.

Idk what about him but the fact that he felt insecure about being the next Lord of Driftmark and him thinking he wasn’t as perfect as his mother was AND RHAENYRA PAMPERING HIM LIKE A LITTLE BABY MADE MY ENTIRE HEART SWELL FOR HIM BECAUSE I WANTED TO COMFORT HIM TOO AUIDKFKGJEIDJR

That was what began making me feel a bit more attatched to him. Idk why I hadn’t focused on him when he felt insecure of being stared at when Jace and him where on Kings Landing, but I guess I found his attitude on the last episode even cuter than in the previous episode where he appeared.

And I HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA WHY, BUT WHEN I SAW HIM TRAINING WITH JACE AND GETTNG HIS OWN SWORD THROWN TO THE GROUND AND HIM GETTING DRAGGED THROUGH THE SAND BY JACE JUST MADE ME GO LIKE ????? HES SUCH A PATHETIC LITTLE DRAGON PRINCE I LOVE HIM SM!!!!!!

And by the time the Storms End scene was coming/came, I simply swooned with adoration at how despite he was nearly shitting and peeing his pants at the thought of meeting Lord Baratheon, he still tried to make his mother proud and went to Storms End. I was having the building up of thinking just how brave and courageous Luke was in his own way, despite being scared/nervous.

DONT GET ME STARTED AT HOW AMUSED I WAS WHEN I HEARD HIM SPEAK HIGH VALYRIAN. I GRIPPED THE SHEETS AND FOUGHT BACK A SMILE. Also his focus on trying to escape and how prettily cool he looked with his hair wet just caught my attention.

Of course my heart shattered when he was eaten by Vhagar and Arrax got chomped off. And ever since, I never fully got him out of my mind. Lucerys might have been insecure and nervous, yes, but he was brave. And since I re-watched HOTD like 3 times (the 2 times I was already head over heels for him), I also found the way he tried to defend his brother when he saw Jace about to punch Aemond truly mesmerising.

Did he get face-planted on a plate full of food by Aegon? Yes, he did. Did he try his own way to defend his brother despite being bad at physical fighting? Also, yes. And that is what truly matters to me — his intentions to fight back for his family despite being bad at it.

Ok so maybe I made a big ramble there. But basically, what first made me be terribly attatched to him was just how preciously cute, timid, adorable, and pathetic he was (is). There was something in his behaviour that made me want to tightly embrace him, rub his back tenderly, and fill every inch of his face with tons of adoring smooches while telling him not to feel insecure about being the next Lord of Driftmark, and how he was perfect the way he was.

Now, getting onto his physical appearance. And when I say that was the last thing I focused on him when I was falling for Lukie Pookie, I genuinely mean it.

His hazel green eyes. Those gorgeous hazel green eyes of his, that make me want to stare at them tirelessly. Idk how to say it, but I find them to be so beautifully expressive. They are so precious, they look like a pair of jade gems. I sincerely adore how sometimes depending on the lighting they may look blue-ish, grey-ish, or just vividly green. My God, he swoops me off my feet with his way of staring.

DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HIS PERFECTLY SWEET NOSE AND HIS ROSY LIPS!!!! you guys have no idea how many smooches I would place on the tip of his nose, and how I would love to softly trace it with the tip of my finger AHHFJRJXKENDJFJ and I wanna squish his rosy cheeks and caress them and just tell him how much I HOLD HIM VERY DEARLY ON MY HEART LIKE NO OTHER 💗💗💗

aaaand that's the book!!! I'll probably make a more coherent post about it another time but I liked it; I think the movie did a good job of putting things back together and adding things where things needed to be added. I liked that the book gave more focus on driver and Standard's friendship and I liked that he held such fondness for his foster parents that he knew he could trust them with the cat and gave them the money as well

seeing his backstory, even with as little as we get, was really interesting and I'll definitely be incorporating a lot of it into my interpretation of the ryan gosling 2011 version of the character

thinking of the kid fic again and the reason rits is so liked dare I say loved by servants is they're a relatively normal Mage. Yeah. I think it’s that she’s so much more human. She’s just a kid. In fate, Mages usually eat breathe and sleep magecraft. They’re raised to be Mages. Heroic spirits for the most part were normal humans who did extraordinary things, and even the ones who were Mages were mostly from times when magecraft was very different. Now in fate, Mages are basically 1% privileged entitled shithead politician power families who think everyone not from a Legacy family born into power and riches and centuries of exploited power is Less Than Human compared to them.

Rits is the opposite of that. She’s just some lower middle class, public schooled high schooler. And a good person. Not just to heroic spirits, but to other humans. They absolutely would see someone sleeping in their car outside a 7/11 in nowheresville as just as worth saving as a dignitary at a consulate. She’s very kind and genuine and a loving person too, and I’m sure that helps, but a big part I think is just seeing a mage treat them and others with humanity and decency and respect. Heroic spirits regularly get dragged from the afterlife to be forced into enslavement for some entitled shithead mage’s pissing contest mage ritual, often forced to act outside of their own character and ethics, and are treated as disposable tools rather than even living beings, much less equals. I think who she is as a person is very important, but I also think just, any human mage showing humanity to heroic spirits always has a profound effect on them. Their lives are straight up hell. They don’t get afterlives and reincarnation, and instead get forced into slave contracts over and over against their will, get killed, get used, get discarded. I really like the way Medea talks about being used and discarded when she’s dying in Blade Works, because her desperation and kind of broken desire to just go home make sense so much in the context of what a heroic spirit is. Like she’s someone who betrayed her own family for a man she loved, gave up her life as a princess, everything. And was betrayed and discarded for another woman after giving him the world, and is remembered mostly for a play written long after her life, where she kills her own kids and the new wife to punish him. Reviled as a witch and a monster. And regardless of the truth, she’s dragged again and again into contracts with Mages who treat her like property and slaughter her when they have no use, and think of her as a monster. I can’t imagine the cognitive dissonance of being Medea in Blade Works and seeing a mage workshop liquefying the bodies of young living children imported from poorer countries, to make magic. Cruel, and inhuman, and not even an economical use of its own violence. And to have the people who made it look at you with absolutely surety as the monster and the witch who kills children in the room. To kill the workers there and let the kids go, and have the rights to kill you sold to another Master because you’re too evil to be trustworthy. It’s no wonder she immediately falls in love and dedicates herself to the first person to actually treat her as a human being since years before even her real original death.

Artoria is shocked by Shirou treating her like a friend and equal, and dedicates herself to helping him long past their contract because of it. Cú is so impressed by Shirou and Rin he swaps sides and is killed for them. Heracles dies horribly trying to protect Ilya because he sees a homunculus child being treated like he is. Like a powerful tool for winning magic wars, at any cost. When really she’s a living person. Archer credits Rin’s humanity towards him in Blade Works as what made him weak enough he stops short of going through with killing Shirou, and a large part of what helps him keep going as a heroic spirit after. Originally it’s just the chance to have agency to act how they want instead of just being routinely assaulted by their master and used that gets Astolfo to help Sieg, but his genuine care of them and other homunculi as people is what gets them, Jeanne, and others to change priorities in the war.

Even with FGO itself, Da Vinci is a very selfish and unattached character when she’s introduced. Moriarty throws away a lifetime goal and lets himself die on the cusp of getting everything he ever wanted, so this 18 year old with the weight of the world on their shoulders who believed he was good and loved him, will be okay. You see it over and over again. This has turned into an unnecessarily long rant but, when it’s done well, I die and cry for how well Fate focuses on the utterly irreplaceable, central necessity of humanity and love towards others being the foundation for most of the hope and life in the universe. Like fucking, Apocrypha is incredibly devastating, but Sieg doesn’t think so. The only reason it’s not a worse end than it is, is he has love and faith. It makes a horror story a tragedy that might get a bittersweet ending someday yet. Salieri stays to die playing piano for people who will have never existed in two days and it matters so fucking much. The players in UBW circumvent fate where Shirou is concerned, through love. Archer is able to go on because he spoke to his child self and his wife in another life was kind to him and said she wanted him to be saved and cried. Arthur is at peace with the horror of her life because she made choices out of love for her people and is able to see that the good has value amongst the bad, because of her relationship with Shirou. Ritsuka stays and dies in an explosion at the start to FGO so Mash will have someone holding her hand when she dies and won’t be alone, and that lets Mash become the person who is vaporized at the end of FGO fighting in the temple of time to save Ritsuka, and the year of being kind to a little animal they didn’t know was sentient saves them both from death in that finale because it’s one of the evils of the universe but it succumbed to belly rubs and head pats and genuine love from two little girls and trades its life for them. Everything in fate when it’s done well is about 2 things: 1–the inevitable tragedy of humanity and having lived at all, and 2–the unending desperate hope of the potential of human love.

My dream last night told me that Michael and Jeremy have matching sketchbooks so what do u think each of them would draw

jeremy would draw animals and stuff, especially when he's out for walks (he likes squirrels!) and probably people. he'd try to improve his realistic art style a lot, and he'd draw michael when he thought he wasn't paying attention (spoiler, michael guesses he's drawing him a lot of the time because of all the furtive glances and hiding the page from sight, though he tries to act surprised when jeremy proudly shows off the drawing)

michael might draw plants and mushrooms, he'd want to draw edgy stuff like skulls and snakes and weapons and all that stuff but he'd find himself doodling hearts (canon!!) and smiley faces more often, he'd like to draw things he sees like street lights, benches, stuff like that just for fun, and he'd draw things with cool textures, shattered glass with a broken reflection in it once (he was very proud of himself for that one), as well as, when he was younger, the animatronics and things in the pizzeria, especially little stick figure doodles of himself and the robots when he was a kid. he sometimes draws little doodles of himself kinda looking into the camera like he's on the office or making some comment about something or other, he also makes stupid little doodles and sarcastic stuff he thinks up (canon!), and when he gets older he'll draw the animatronics in full detail (canon) as he remembers them, maybe to try and get them out of his head
