listen I get the hc that Jason's a die hard Jane Austen fan. I love it, actually. a 6' guy built like a brick shithouse with enough guns to put your average Texan to shame, being a romance enthusiast? it's beautiful

but.

frankenstein.

Come ON, a creature rejected by its creator? It's too good to overlook.

Bruce gave Jason a purpose as Robin, and then repudiated the path he chose to fulfill it. Bruce created the Red Hood with his actions and lack thereof, and then refused to acknowledge it.

And he was also not entirely at fault, either. Because Bruce genuinely thought he was doing a good thing when he made Jason Robin. And then he saw what Robin led Jason to and couldn't face the consequences of his actions.

COME OOOOON it's too good. also the zombie jokes Jason would make? he would also love the fact that every character is just a teeny tiny fruity.

I desperately need Jason fans to stop depicting Talia Al Ghul like she's his saviour, like she's some surrogate mother figure to him. The only thing he has her to thank for is the dip in the Lazarus Pit. If Talia really cared about Bruce or Jason as soon as she found Jason she should have told Bruce. Instead she's the first person that points Jason in the direction of Gotham with a vendetta and full of rage. She finds ways for him to learn how to kill, fully aware he will eventually cross paths with Bruce and the rest of the Bat Family again. Talia was not good for Jason, she was good for herself and her own interests. Let's stop pretending otherwise, like that's literally why The Outlaws run created the All Castes to try and give Jason actual adults who did care about his wellbeing even if the All Castes are boring as shit and his story is more interesting when it is just Talia training him to be a weapon against her ex.

I think it’d be funny if Dick and Jason, due to wearing bright yellow capes on the job for years, are capable of stealth to a frankly unhinged degree. They barely have to try anymore it’s so second nature. Dick can just completely disappear while in the loudest neon clothes imaginable. Jason is constantly startling people who don’t understand how they missed a guy the size of a fridge standing right there. Bruce is extremely grateful for his unbreakable poker face because they have both startled him by accident and would never ever let him live it down if they knew.

I never understood why some DC fans want the Lazarus Pit to have no draw backs. I mean I somewhat get it, they want their favs to come back from the dead with no consequences because they never wanted them dead to begin with but death in comic books is already so horribly cheapened that removing any and all side effects from one form of resurrection just cheapens it even more to the point that why kill anyone anyway? Shock value? If death doesn't have consequences to some degree, if it can't facilitate character development then just stop killing characters off at all.

Like love Jason Todd or loath Jason Todd at least his death had an impact on him. Even if DC want to retcon his Robin days to hell and back the truth is Jason was a happy, overall pretty good kid who believed being Robin made him magical and even in his dying moments he acted heroically, trying to save his mother who sold him to the Joker. Jason then came back angry, vengeful, scared and feeling betrayed. There's tragedy and room for so much development there only because his death had consequences, it changed parts of him because an event like DYING should change someone, its arguably the most traumatic thing you could ever have happen to you in a world where death isn't always permanent.

So yeah I like when stories acknowledge death having consequences, sure they aren't always pretty but they mean something for the characters and the story.
