a/n : kuroo is finally here aaaaaaaaaa
A few days after the practice game, she walks toward the gym after putting her belongings in class. “Noya is here already?” Akari asked when she stepped into the familiar room, filling the space between Daichi and Suga, watching as her friend talked to the first-year duo.
Nishinoya Yuu, a fellow second-year student in Karasuno. The libero. The guardian. Her dear friend. She is close to someone like Tanaka and Noya for someone who seems so calm and collected—people's first impression of her. The libero was standing in front of Kageyama and Hinata giving an explanation of why he went to Karasuno despite coming from a pretty known school like Itachiyama. "No. I chose Karasuno because…." Noya paused for a dramatic effect.
Akari, on the other hand, sighed when she realized what he was about to say. He had stated the same thing to her and the team to the point she had already memorized them word by word. “Their girls’ school uniforms are totally my type.”
"Karasuno had black military uniforms and cute girls’ uniforms, and it’s a short commute from home! It was an easy choice to make." He said before turning his head as he felt the presence of Shimizu Kiyoko entering the gym. He quite literally leaped to the older girl saying how he had come back to see her again just to receive a nice slap on his cheek.
“So, where’s Asahi-san? Is he back?” His question makes Akari flinch, shifting uncomfortably on her feet, remembering the fact that her other upperclassman has not made a comeback to the club since their loss with Date Tech. Since the fight that occurred between him and Noya.
The libero clenched his teeth, irritated by the fact that Asahi doesn’t dare to come back to them after what happened last year. “That coward!” He yelled out loud.
“Noya! That’s not the way to talk about your upperclassman!” Tanaka scolded him. However, this angers the libero even more, “Shut up! A coward is a coward! If Asahi isn’t coming back, I’m not coming back either!” He then walked out of the gym.
Akari called after him. “Yuu! Nishinoya, you come back here!” Her palm went onto her forehead as she looked at the two-third year and Tanaka. “What should we do now?” She asked. Asahi and Noya have always been close due to their role in the team. Their bond is somewhat similar to what Akari had seen in other volleyball duos that she knew.
She raised her eyebrows questioningly at the team captain, silently asking for a solution as Suga and Tanaka also copied her action. Daichi gulped before turning around to see the orange-haired first year. “Well……….,”
They all collectively nodded knowingly, while the younger boy looked at them, confused as to why they suddenly stared at him.
***
Since the use-Hinata-as-a-bait operation went successful, Noya has been going to the gym again. Although, he claims that he still won’t be joining the club and just went there to teach the orange-haired boy.
She was walking towards the gym the next day when Takeda appeared and started to walk beside her. By the way it seems, he has been running from the teachers' room. The happy look on his face makes Akari assume that it has something to do with the Golden Week Training Camp that would happen in a short time. “So we got a practice game?” She asked.
Takeda turned to look at her with wide eyes. “Ehh, do you just assume by the look on my face?” She nodded at her teacher’s question. “With who?” She asked once more, hoping that it won’t be Aoba Johsai again
He opened up his mouth but then closed it again and told her that she had to find out about that along with the others. Takeda steps into the gym, gaining everyone's attention with his passionate energy. Akari stood with the others, patiently waiting for him to reveal who their opponent would be.
“A veteran school in Tokyo, Nekoma High.” Akari widened her eyes in surprise as she heard what Takeda just said. The last time she recalls, it has been a very long time since Nekoma and Karasuno played against each other. The bond between the two schools was pretty close due to the rivalries between the Senior Ukai coach and Nekomata coach.
Tanaka explained a bit about Nekoma to Hinata who is clueless about the quite famous school. “Not just that……,” Akari speaks up, turning her head to the younger boy. “The match between the schools is also famous that it gains a title. The Battle of the Garbage Dump, Cats versus Crows. It has been a long time since both schools played against each other. Why now, Takeda-sensei?” She turned her body around to look at the supervisor teacher.
Takeda hummed. “Right, I’ll explain the details later. I happened to learn about our worthy adversary Nekoma, so I just had to stage a fateful rematch. I’m positive he’ll make a move if we play with Nekoma High.” He explained.
Akari blinked twice, just understanding that the other reason behind this whole situation is to make the Ukai Keishin accept Takeda’s offer as a coach for Karasuno. As a former player who had played against Nekoma during his days too. Akari doubts he can resist the temptation inside himself.
***
The second-year manager went absent for the next few days, which worried the team at first. But she notified them that she has to go out of town for a few days due to a family urgency. She told them that she would be back before the training camp.
During those days, the team has been informing her of the things she had missed. First was the fact that Asahi and Noya have finally joined the team back after their game with Karasuno Neighborhood Association Team.
The second was the fact that Ukai Keishin had agreed to fill the position as Karasuno’s coach even though he claims that it would only last until the practice game with Nekoma.
Ukai looked around the gym, scanning all of the players available since the Karasuno Neighborhood Association team lacked members due to the busy life they have. With his hands on his waist, he looks at Takeda. “That girl…….where is she?” He asked, making the supervisor look at him confusedly.
“Girl?”
Ukai hummed, nodding to himself. “Is she not the manager here? I swear she had mentioned it. She also went to the store with you guys a few times. Izumi-san. Is she not here?” Some of the team members turned in his direction when he mentioned the younger manager, Kageyama specifically.
Suga approached the newly appointed coach. “Akari?” He wandered out loud. “She has to go out of town for a family emergency, but she will be back in a few days, probably during the training camp.” The older setter explained.
Takeda cocked his head to the side. “Ukai-san, need her………for what?” He asked, voicing out the others' silent question that remains in their mind only. Kageyama narrows his eyes slightly at the coach, he too thinks that it would be a good opportunity if they have Akari to fill in one of the positions.
The coach crossed his arms in front of his chest. “Ahh, that’s unfortunate. I thought I could use her since we’re lacking players here. Her skills might be useful for the moment. Guess we have to find another player now.”
The team, aside from Kageyama, can’t help but wonder what he was referring to. Akari can play, that is the fact that they know. But she has never mentioned anything other than knowing how the game works. Somewhere far from Karasuno, Akari sneezed in a room, making her mother turn to her, an alarmed look on her face. “It’s okay. It’s okay. Someone is probably talking about me.”
***
There are only four days left until the long-awaited Nekoma and Karasuno reunion. Akari found herself looking at the familiar scenery of the school’s gym. Her hand went to the back of her neck, patting herself as she entered the gym. Heads turned to look at her as she raised a hand to greet them.
“Akari-senpai!!” Hinata was the first to greet her as he jumped on the spot, excited to meet her again. Tanaka and Noya were next to do it as they both slung their hands around her shoulders. “Riri, we missed you.” Noya cried out, tears coming out of his eyes as a dramatic effect of his personality.
She then noticed the presence of the new coach, smirking teasingly at the older guy, getting out of their grasp. “Well, well, well. Look who finally decided to be our coach.” Ukai’s eyebrow twitched at her words. “I am not interested in being your coach, he said. It’s wasting my time, he said. One word about Nekoma and loo-“ A hand gripped the top of her head making her unable to run away as Ukai yelled at her.
With an irritated look on his face, he scolded the younger girl whom he grew familiar with due to her being a regular customer at his family store. “Where have you been, huh?! Coming back to the club with such words. Do your job perfectly or have no coffee for two weeks.” The other members facepalmed simultaneously at the sight of the two, including Takeda and Kiyoko.
Akari shrieked. “I’m joking. I’m only joking.” Before running behind Suga when Ukai lets go of her. “He’s such a cruel man for threatening me like that.” She muttered quietly although Suga's sweatdropped at her words.
The team gathered around Takeda and Ukai. “Since you’re all here now. The practice game against Nekoma takes place in four days. After that, it will be time for the Inter-High preliminaries. There’s no time! But you guys are full of weak spots. There is only one thing to do in order for you slobs to win. Practice! Practice! Practice! Keep retrieving the ball until you throw up.”
The practice for that day started. Akari and Kiyoko helped around with passing the balls to Ukai. They first started by practicing their receives as the boys lined up to receive five balls each. After that, they move along to do the spikes. And before they could even realize it, getting too caught up with their activities, the moon was already up in the sky. The orange light had changed as darkness took over its position.
They move along to go to the inn that would be the place where they sleep for the next few days. Akari is currently helping Takeda and Kiyoko in the kitchen to prepare the food for the others. A white apron wrapped around her waist as she tied up her hair into a messy bun.
Kiyoko looked at her as she put the noodles into the bowl, plating it perfectly so it looked appetizing to them. “You sure you don’t want to stay over at my house?” The older manager offered her the same question once more.
Akari shakes her head, her answer remains the same as when she had asked her moments earlier. “I’m sure. You don’t need to worry, Kiyoko-san. Sugamama will look after me,” She smiled largely at the end of her sentence. Both chuckled at the nickname Akari refers to Suga with.
The girl went to sit down between Tanaka and Noya as the two greeted her brightly with hopeful stars in their eyes, asking her if she would stay with them to which she replied with a nod. She turns to face Kageyama after eating the third spoon of curry, watching as he and Hinata eat like there’s no tomorrow.
Out of instinct, she pushed her glass of water toward the dark-haired boy and told him to drink the water first before continuing whatever eating competition he has with Hinata at the moment. “You guys, this isn’t a competition. Just eat properly.” She scolded the two. “Eat slowly or you’ll choke. I don’t want our team to lose their new members in a stupid way.” She went up to grab another glass of water and put it on Hinata’s side of the table, her arm on her waist as she shook her head at the two.
“Akari is acting like Kageyama’s mother again,” Tanaka commented.
Noya, beside him, nods as he agrees with what his friend just said. “That’s why a lot of boys like her. She’s a good caretaker. Right, Ennoshita?” The libero throws a teasing smirk at the wing spiker.
The said boy almost spit out his drink if it weren’t for Kinoshita who immediately patted his back. The first years probably don’t know about this. However, it’s a common secret for the third and second years that Ennoshita has been crushing on his fellow classmate since their first year. Akari herself knows about this due to the fact that he had confessed to her last summer about his admiration, which she really appreciates.
Tanaka stood up, holding a hand to his chest. “Our famous Karasuno Hime-sama. The beauty of class 2-4 who rejected multiple boys on every valentine.” Asahi and Narita had to hold her back before she could swing her plate to him while the bald boy just laughed along with Nishinoya to the point Daichi had to scold them for being too loud.
Just as she calmed down, Kageyama spoke out his mind. “She did that………here too?” He asked them almost innocently, not realizing that his upperclassmen, are now glaring at him from across the table, gripping her fork tightly. Akari used every ounce of her soul to not launch herself at him. He just unintentionally reveals that it has happened before during her Kitagawa Daiichi days.
“Akari you’re such a heartbreaker!!!”
 “You’re cruel!”
“I have to be honest, that’s kinda evil of you, Akari.” Even the third years are now agreeing with the others.
“How could you do that to all of them?!?!”
“I have no idea that people like her.”
The last comment from Tsukishima was the one that irritated her the most. “Well, what am I supposed to do, huh?! Date all of them at the same time?!” She sighed irritatingly before turning her head to look at Noya. “And you. The thing you said earlier. No wonder all of you people are single. You boys won’t get anyone if you keep thinking like that. Even if I did end up dating them I won’t be their caretaker. It is not my responsibility to act as a babysitter for them. What are they? A baby?” Kiyoko silently smiled to herself as she heard Akari’s words.
Both Noya and Tanaka suddenly hold onto each of her arms, hugging it as if they’re a koala, startling her to the point she almost loses her balance. Dramatic tears streamed down their faces as they cried out loud. “We won’t think like that again. Sorry, Ri-chan.” They said simultaneously.
The first years sweatdropped at the sight, not used to the trio’s behavior. While the third years and the other second years sighed to themselves. At least it’s nice to see them three together again, they thought.
***
The next morning, Akari was woken up with a familiar sharp pain in her stomach. The cycle of pain that she is forced to get used to every month in her life. The rest of the team went to the gym while she stayed there under the doctor’s instruction. The doctor being Suga obviously. Even though she had reasoned with them, telling them that she feels perfectly fine and is already used to it. But alas her wish is not granted. So now she is stuck in the room alone.
Standing up from her futon, she went outside to get some air even though the sun was already right above her. Stretching her arms upwards and sidewards when she saw an orange flash run past the house. “H-Hinata?!?!” She looked in the direction he ran towards, curious as to why he ran so fast, Akari decided to follow his tracks.
“Where did he go? He ran so fast that others couldn’t even catch up with him. Did he get lost?” She walked around the area, not really making any effort to rush and find Hinata, considering this as time for her to exercise. She looked up to the sky, shielding her line of gaze with her hand so she could look up without having to squint her eyes due to the sunlight.
She stopped when she reached an intersection, silently debating on which path she should take in order to find her orange-haired underclassmen. Her eyes fell onto an unfamiliar figure as she looked to her left. Tall. Broad shoulders. Volleyball shoes. A familiar shade of red jacket. But the one she found herself getting intrigued by was the hair. There’s no doubt that is one of the Nekoma’s Volleyball Team members that they would go against tomorrow. She wonders if it’s the player that her cousin had mentioned before. The hair itself seems to be a self-confirmation to her.
The boy had stopped in his tracks too when he saw her. He found himself stiffened under her observing gaze, feeling uncomfortable by it. Just when he was about to ask her about his setter, Akari speaks up. “Do you need help?” She raised her eyebrows questioningly, noticing that he keeps turning his gaze now and then as if searching for something. “What are you searching for?”
His hand went to scratch the back of his neck awkwardly. “Uhh……yeah,” He stepped a bit closer to her but still maintained some distance between them. He looks down at her. “Have you seen any blonde hair boy this short around here? He’s not familiar with this area so I think he got lost.” His voice trailed off at the end of his words.
Akari looked down at his shoes, connecting some possibilities in her head. “Is he wearing this type of shoe too? Volleyball shoes?” She asked for a confirmation which he replied with a nod. “How do you kno-“
“I think I know who he is with right now. Maybe……but the thing is that I’m also searching for this person that might be with whoever you’re searching for right now. Was there any orange-haired boy running past you while you searched for him? It’s hard to not notice him if he had passed you earlier.” She turns her body slightly to face him directly.
He shakes his head having absolutely no idea of who she is talking about. She sighed, looking around once more. Why do I even bother to search for him in the first place? A thought slipped into her mind.
The boy clasped his hands together to gain her attention. She turns her head once more to look at him. He looks at her nervously as the words of a suggestion come out of his mouth. “Wanna search for them together?” He asked. She raised her eyebrows suspiciously and crossed her arms to her chest. Realizing the situation, he waved his hands in front of him, an alarmed look on his face as he shook his hand. “I-I’m not a bad guy. I swear I’m not.”
“I was going to say okay.” She said, making him straighten his back after leaning down slightly to her. After that she motioned him to follow her steps, finally deciding which path might lead her to Hinata and hopefully to whoever this guy is searching for. He matches his steps with hers. Words begin to fill his head as he tries to form a sentence to say to her, wanting to break the silence as their eyes wander around to look for the two lost people. My name is Kuroo, I’m from Tokyo. Kuroo, my name is Kuroo. I’m from Tokyo in case you haven’t noticed. He shakes his head slightly, then stops in the middle of his tracks as they turn left, making her look back at him.
“My name is Tokyo. I’m from Kuroo.” He could feel his soul leaving his body as the words came out of his mouth involuntarily. The corner of her mouth lifted upward so slightly as she tried to not laugh at his mistake. She shifted her body slightly, raising her eyebrows. “Your name is Tokyo? That’s unique.” She then turned back and continued her walk.
He immediately catches up to her, matching their steps once more, looking at her as he introduces his name properly this time. “I’m Kuroo Tetsuro. Not Tokyo, sorry.” She nodded at his words, slowing her steps as her eyes were locked on a familiar shade of color at the end of the street. “Well, Kuroo Tetsuro-san.” She pointed forwards. “I think we’ve found them.”
He stopped in his tracks at the same time as her, now looking at his setter who is sitting in front of the orange-haired boy. Akari puts her hand on her waist as she leans on her right side. “Hinata. There you are.” Her words make the two turn to them. Kenma immediately stands up as he sees his best friend. On the other side, Hinata looks like a deer caught in headlights when he realizes the manager's presence. “Senpai! You’re feeling better?” He tilted his head.
“You’re sick?” The question slipped out of the captain’s mouth when Kenma went to his side. A concerned look makes way to his face. Perhaps it’s due to him taking care of the team and Kenma all the time. It becomes a natural habit for him to look out for others, even those whom he just met, like her. She looks back at him. “It’s nothing. I’m fine.” Then her eyes fall onto the Nekoma’s setter who had just uttered some words for Hinata.
“Well, I guess we have to head back now. I’m sure both of you are needed somewhere else too,” She said before bowing down slightly to Kenma. “I’m sorry if he causes you trouble or makes you uncomfortable during his time with you. Hinata is always excited to welcome new people he just met.”
“I-it’s fine.” Those are the only words that come out from the setter.
Akari looked at the taller guy, noticing that he was debating on saying something else once more. He keeps shifting so slightly on his legs, although it’s not that noticeable. “It’s nice to meet both of you,” She gave a pause for Kuroo to say something however he missed the chance. “See you later, Tokyo-san.” She walks away in the other direction, tugging Hinata with her.
“It’s Kuroo……,” He trailed off, watching her figure disappear as she turned right, along with her junior. Besides him, Kenma raised his eyebrows slightly. “Tokyo-san?” He asked.
“Nothing.”
“You introduce yourself as Tokyo from Kuroo, don’t you?”
“How do you know?!”
“I don’t. But now I know.”
***
Two days had passed. It’s now less than 24 hours until their game with Nekoma. A day earlier, Ukai had shown them the formation for the game. Up in the front, they have Daichi and Tanaka as the Wing Spiker and Hinata as the middle blocker. In the back, they have Asahi as the Wing Spiker, Noya as the Libero, Tsukishima as the middle blocker, and lastly, Kageyama as the Setter.
Akari was notified by Suga himself that he had told Ukai to pick Kageyama for the game if it meant more opportunities to win for the team. That was a hard decision to make especially when you’re in your last year. On that same night, she was woken up in the middle of the night and found the older setter staying up late to make a sign combination for the game.
Today, in the morning, she and Kiyoko went to the Uchisawa Cleaning Laundry—to collect the uniforms for the team to use later. They head back to the gym as fast as they can once they collect the uniforms. Akari opened the sliding door while Kiyoko held the bag. Going inside, she called for the club supervisor. “Takeda-sensei.”
“Oh, are they ready now?”
“Yes, the uniforms have been cleaned and altered.” Said the older manager.
Akari looked at the others, motioning them to gather around her and Kiyoko as they handed out the new uniforms. She noticed that Hinata is given the same number as the Little Giant, although she’s pretty sure that he doesn’t realize it from the way he acts so amazed by the fact that Noya wears the opposite color as all of them which makes him stand out in the court.
"That's because I'm the hero."
"The hero?"
She shakes her head from behind him. “Stop lying to our junior, Yuu. Libero tends to go in and out of the court so frequently during a game, Hinata. His different color is supposed to make him stand out so others know that he is the libero.” She explained to Hinata but alas his attention went to Kageyama once he realized that the setter got a single-digit number on his uniform. As she had guessed before, the boy doesn’t realize who his number once belonged to as he complained to Kageyama.
“I get it. He doesn’t remember the number.”
“You only saw him on TV that one time.”
“The number worn by the Little Giant when he played in the Nationals was 10."
In a split second, he changes his mood from being sour to the happiest person in the room as if he’s a kid getting their favorite ice cream flavor. Hinata looks at Ukai, smiling widely asking him if he did that on purpose, giving the same jersey number as his number 1 muse. Despite being told that it is just a fluke, Hinata keeps saying its destiny until eventually, his eyes fell on her, expecting to hear her answer to his statement. Akari cleared her throat. “Yes, you’re right. It’s fated. I believe that coincidence is also destiny because if not then it wouldn’t happen at all.” She said, looking at the boy who just got a confidence boost.
Ukai stepped forwards to them, gaining their attention as their eyes fell onto him. “Incidentally, at the time Hinata’s hero, the Little Giant, played here. Karasuno was at its best. But even with all of that, Karasuno didn’t beat Nekoma once at all. It ended in a losing streak. I want you all to clear our name.” He said. Akari stepped beside Ukai, holding her notes. She had spent time searching for everything she could gather about the Nekoma team when she was forced to stay at the inn two days ago by Suga. Not to mention that she had met the setter–although not in a battle position—along with the captain of the team.
“For the past few days, I have gathered some information about their team. Nekoma is a powerful team. They are well-known for their receives. Truthfully, I can’t tell you much about their current team aside from the fact that they have a quite special setter on their side and that their middle blockers are also pretty good and have been the talk of some games they are in.” The team listened as she carefully gave out the pieces of information that she got. “Nekoma is also known for their teamwork. From years to years, despite changing formation and members, they have always managed to have one of the best teamwork coordination. Just like their name, they’re smooth as cats.”
“That I assume has something to do with their coach being Nekomata-sensei, who I have the opportunity to meet with a few times due to…….,” Her words wandered off her tongue. “Due to a mutual connection. I’m sure our coach right here could tell more about him, right? Ukai-san? You’re familiar with him, right? Karasuno and Nekoma had done a lot of practice matches together during your days.”
Hinata had his mouth open. “Akari-san, you seem to know a lot about volleyball. You've been a manager for almost two years but talked as if you know about it for years. Ukai-sensei had also mentioned something about your skills during our practice game with the Neighborhood Association Team.” He can’t help but ask the question that has been lingering in his mind. If he had turned his head 90º degrees, he would’ve seen Kageyama burning holes to the side of his face, knowing that the topic would somehow upset his senior.
Akari glanced at Ukai—who already looked away—before looking back to the orange-haired boy noticing that the others had stepped closer too, wanting to know the reason. “Why so surprised? Some of you already know that I was once a player in Kitagawa Daiichi. It's not like that's a secret.” She said casually, as she recalls she had mentioned very briefly about her past volleyball career to the second and third years.
“Ehhhh really?!” Hinata practically jumped from his spot in front of her, bombarding her with a bunch of questions. “What position did you play? Why did you stop playing? Why didn’t you join the female team instead? You can always play with us anytime you want right? Help us with our practices?” His face was almost in front of hers if it weren’t for Suga who tugs him back to his place.
She grew uncomfortable under their expecting eyes. She could’ve just easily lied and stated some cliché excuse that they would believe in a heartbeat. But with this topic, she would find herself incapable of answering the questions truthfully. Saying the truth means that she has accepted what happened to her. That would be another lie. She fidgets her fingers, opening her mouth trying to say something, anything. But then Kageyama interrupted them. “Oi, Hinata. Is this an investigation? Quit bothering her and practice.” He said.
How glad she is to hear those interrupt his words. A quick breath of relief was released into the air as she looked down for a moment before meeting Suga’s worried eyes from across her. He sent a reassuring smile to her which she replied with a subtle nod. She looks at Ukai who stands next to her before motioning her head towards the team, reminding him that it’s time for them to practice again. “Ahh, right. Let’s start with running laps first today. Hurry up!”
***
On the other side of the prefecture, a certain member of Nekoma stayed awake at night. He finally managed to get the others to sleep after their never-ending debate about Karasuno’s manager. He was deep in thoughts about tomorrow’s practice game when the image of the girl he met two days earlier entered his mind. “I didn’t even get to ask her name. Is she gonna be there tomorrow?” He remembered Kenma mentioned that the orange-haired boy was from Karasuno, judging from the shirt he had worn that day. So he concludes that the girl—Akari—also went to the said school.
Rolling on his side, he found himself looking at the moon. He couldn’t explain what it was, but at that moment, he realized that it was truly a sight to see. It’s those rare moments where he would find himself admiring its beauty, but even in those times, he never realizes how much comfort that simple activity could give him as an unfamiliar yet warm feeling tugged at him. Has the moon always been this beautiful?

The Gojo Syndrome one for Nobi got me lmao! For the OC Asks (Nobi, Izumi, Tanaka, Nao-Chan): What’s their most useless, weirdest, or least marketable skill? What’s the most ridiculous thing they’ve ever spent money on? Do they have any phobias? Are they religious? What do people notice first about them, as far as their appearance goes? Do they have any insecurities? What’s their body count, if they have one? Sorry if this is too much, lol, I just got a bit excited! Thank you!
Lol, it's not even a joke though. Edgeshot hates him for it. We're going to be focused quiet a bit on Nobi in the aftermath arc (as I've dubbed it), also on Class 1-A and their relationship with All Might, the media, and everything that's being said about them.
OC Asks (Nobi, Izumi, Tanaka, Nao-Chan):
What’s their most useless, weirdest, or least marketable skill?
Izumi's: She can catch things pretty easily. Like if someone throws something at her, it won't fall.
Nobi's: Can pick things up with his toes. (Edgeshot jokes that this is his quirk)
Tanaka's: can recognize different cars without seeing their logos
Nao-chan: Wiggle her ears
What’s the most ridiculous thing they’ve ever spent money on?
Izumi's: Fake All Might merch that she sent to Endeavor's agency on his birthday--everything was mistranslated into English, so instead of All Might, it said Most Might
Nobi's: He's a penny pincher, so he doesn't actually spend money like that, but once he had a brilliant idea to try and make his own soy sauce because he likes doing DIYs. Bought a whole ton of soybeans, only for him to never do it.
Tanaka's: She's rich so everything is ridiculous
Nao-chan: She was trying to be nice and bought everyone Christmas presents at the dorm one year...and got Izumi an Endeavor sweater.
Do they have any phobias?
Izumi's: Most animals--Koda and her on missions would not go well. If it's not underwater or a dog, Izumi doesn't want to see it.
Nobi's: The dark.
Tanaka's: Being alone.
Nao-chan: Bugs, spiders.
Are they religious?
Izumi's: She's does follow a lot of traditions, but it's mostly due to being raised with them rather than being religious
Nobi's: No.
Tanaka's: Kinda, but like Izumi more out of habit than belief.
Nao-chan: Yes.
What do people notice first about them, as far as their appearance goes?
Izumi's: Her eyes!
Nobi's: His hair.
Tanaka's: Her smile, she's perfected it in the mirror.
Nao-chan: Her eyes as well, they're a violet color, so it's pretty striking.
Do they have any insecurities?
Izumi's: I think we all know Izumi's mad insecure about her chest (I made a joke to my friend that the only reason she's with Bakugou is because his boobs are bigger than hers 😂😂); her serious insecurity is that she's too much like Endeavor.
Nobi's: Being quirkless
Tanaka's: She's actually pretty insecure in general. She constantly wants people to like her.
Nao-chan: Being judged by other people.
What’s their body count, if they have one?
I'll answer for Nobi only since the rest of them are minors. He never kept count :)
Also, don't apologize!! I like answering asks.

Akari watches the interactions between the two teams. Scary how she realizes that Nekoma has their own Tanaka and Suga. She walks beside Kiyoko when Tanaka’s doppelgänger—she believes he was called Yamamoto by his teammate earlier—eyes fell onto the two of them. Out of instinct, she stepped forward slightly, attempting to conceal Kiyoko’s figure from his line of gaze with her body.
“Great. Just great. They have another Ryuu and Suga.” She commented to the older manager who chuckled at her words as they stepped into the gym. Kiyoko went to the other side of the gym when Akari’s eyes fell onto the interaction between the two captains almost immediately. “And another Daichi.” She continued to herself, eyeing the obscure hairstyle of the Nekoma’s captain that she had met days earlier.
If she had decided to stare a little longer, she would have seen the look on his face when his eyes fell onto her figure after Daichi had left him standing there alone to join the others. He looks at her as if he had just witnessed the greatest phenomenon in the world. Was it relief that he felt? His eyes lit up as he followed her movements. She’s real, he thought in his head. Subconsciously, his hands wander to make his appearance tidier as he smoothens the fabric of his jacket.
“Is that the Izumi Akari, I see?” Akari turns her head towards the voice to find that it belonged to Nekomata-sensei. With a small smile on her face, she bowed down to the elder man who she hasn’t got the chance to meet in years. She wasn’t fully expecting him to recognize her, for it has been years and the last time they met, she was dressed in black, mourning over the unfortunate ending of her beloved uncle—the only reason why she knew Nekoma's coach.
He looks at her as if reuniting with a long-lost granddaughter. “My. My. You've grown up.”
“Nekomata-sensei, It's been a while.” She greeted him. “I didn’t expect you to recognize me so quickly.”
The elder man chuckles at her words, shaking his head with his hands behind him. “Nonsense. I recognize those eyes everywhere I see them. If I had known that you managed this team, I would’ve answered those calls sooner,” he said before turning around to face some of his team members, making Akari look in the same direction. “Familiar last name, right boys? You might know her uncle, Izumi Touya.” She closes her eyes, nose scrunched up, not liking the fact that the elder man has just revealed. She could feel eyes looking at her, including the one from her own team.
Izumi Touya. The name is widely known by everyone on Nekoma’s team. A legend amongst them. He is like a little giant to them. It is not a secret that Nekoma has always been an amazing team. But, Touya, her late uncle, had brought Nekoma’s name to another certain level during his days. He loves to bring Akari to his games and practices, one time during a practice game with Karasuno where she first met the current coach of Nekoma when he was only a first year. Her uncle had also been the one that introduced her to the world of the sport that she holds so close to her heart. Tragically, he died at such a young age.
“Isn’t this time for us to start the game? My team is ready unless Nekoma needs to warm up a bit longer?” She changed the topic smoothly, her eyebrow raised almost teasingly at the end of her sentence. Just because her uncle once was a member of the team doesn’t mean she is going to let them have it the easy way. Nekomata chuckled, eyeing as Takeda and Ukai went to stand beside her. “Right. I don’t care if you’re the niece of our famous player,” His eyes went to Ukai. “Or if you’re not the old man. I’ll show no mercy.”
There it is, Akari’s eyes glinted in anticipation as she felt the tense aura between the coaches. They’re our fated opponents after all.
The corner of her mouth tugs upwards as Nekomata begins to walk away from the three of them. She looked down as a chuckle came out of her mouth, she hasn’t felt like this in forever. A grin formed on her face as she approached Kiyoko to help her with the equipment for the game. With his arms crossed in front of him, Ukai can’t help but smirk at the situation. Takeda on the other hand was feeling nervous as he eyed the coach beside him. “Should we be worried?”
Ukai put his hands on his waist looking at the team as Daichi prepared them for the game. He shakes his head looking at the supervisor. “Let me tell you something. At this moment, Karasuno not only has a good team, but they also have me.” He paused and then looked at Akari—who was talking with Kiyoko. “Even better, we have her.” Takeda followed his line of gaze, tilting his head confusedly—couldn't comprehend what Ukai was trying to tell him.
“We will now commence the practice game between Nekoma High and Karasuno High!” The match started with Karasuno’s new duo attack that evidently took the opponent team off guard. Akari smirked along with Ukai and Takeda at Nekomata’s reaction, eyes glinting triumphantly. She looked over to the bi-colored haired setter to see his response. The look in his eyes really reminds me of someone, she thought to herself.
She hums to herself when the libero manages to receive Asahi’s spike. “Their libero………Yaku Morisuke?” She thought out loud, tilting her head to the side. “We should watch him more. While everyone else was focusing on Hinata’s movement, anticipating that he would spike the ball instead of Asahi. A libero's eyes are only set on the ball and not the person. He is quick to respond to an abrupt situation.” She looked back to the court at the end of her sentence.
It didn’t take much time until Nekoma called out for a timeout. Akari approached Kageyama, handing him his water bottle. “Their setter………,” Her voice faded out as she trailed off her sentences, thinking of the words she should use. “Familiar, right?” The boy nodded at her words, knowing what she meant. She cast a glance towards the opponent team as they gathered around their coach. “He’s very observant. Try to be discreet about our strategy. He is very quick to read our moves, apparently.” She said to her junior before going back to her place.
The match continues after a short 30 seconds time-out. It seems that one of their players is now keeping his eyes on Hinata only, following his movement which results in him touching Hinata’s spike with the tip of his fingers. Akari had an amused look on her face as she watched Kenma perform a dump shot, catching Hinata off guard in the process. “What a good strategist.” She commented to herself, leaning her face onto her palm as she tilted her head slightly to the left.
***
When Nekoma won the first set, Akari could see the look of shock plastered on the orange-haired boy’s face as Inuoka blocked his spike. This goes on to the second set, where the number 7 of Nekoma still managed to block every single of Hinata’s spikes. She could feel Suga’s eyes on her as she puts on a calm face during both of the sets, contrasting her competitiveness during their game with Aoba Johsai. If this was an official game, her reaction would be totally different than now, Ukai would’ve dragged Hinata to the bench immediately and switched him with Tsukishima instead for the time being.
It doesn’t surprise her, the fact that they are losing to the opponent team. She sees this match as an opportunity, regardless if they win or not. The point of this practice game was to find the team’s flaw and to find a way to fix it later on. That’s the truest form of Nekoma and Karasuno’s bond. Behind all of that competitiveness, those matches where they go against each other, those rivalries stories, they have always helped each other improve to be a better team.
Her train of thoughts stopped when she realized the situation they are in right now. Her eyes slightly widened at the sight of Hinata who was about to spike the ball seconds earlier, it might seem usual, however, the fact that Hinata has his eyes wide open simultaneously caught the team off guard, even Kageyama who tossed the ball to him. Ukai immediately called out for a time-out—also taken back by Hinata’s sudden decision. In the end, it was decided that Kageyama had to give Hinata slightly weaker tosses, making an indirect delivery instead of their usual direct delivery.
She approached Hinata during the second time-out Ukai had requested. “Hinata,” She called out his name, making him turn around to face her, a nervous look on his face as he bowed down slightly, apologizing for keeping missing Kageyama’s tosses. “I’m not here to scold you. There’s nothing to be sorry about. Besides, we have Tanaka and Asahi who scored the points for us.” She eyed Tsukishima who made a side remark to tease the orange-haired boy before looking back at Hinata. “You’re not alone, you know. Even if you failed to do those spikes, we are here as a team altogether. We will all stand beside you, covering each other's mistakes. That’s what a team does, so don’t be so worried, Hinata.” She put on a reassuring smile at the end of her sentence.
The boy’s eyes lit up at her words, a sense of comfort covered his heart as he felt his nervousness slipping away. He looked around at his team who were standing around him. A team, he repeated in his mind as a smile makes its way to his face. “Thank you, Akari-senpai.” He said. “Thank you, everyone!”
The match went on for some minutes, Hinata still missed most of the tosses Kageyama gave him. But there is always progress in everything. There is no one who suddenly masters a certain capability with a snap of their finger or in a blink of an eye. Even a butterfly starts out as a caterpillar. That’s how she saw Hinata right now. A caterpillar trying to figure out his way to going to his full potential.
***
Akari has both of her eyes and mouth opened at the sight of the ball that drops to Karasuno’s side of the court, a final score for the Nekoma team to win. The tug of her mouth curved upwards so slightly as she tried to conceal her amusement. She let out what sounded like a mixture of sighs and chuckles out of her mouth as she sat back down beside Kiyoko, looking up to the ceiling. “Don’t blame yourself, Ukai-san. That was a fair game, we played earlier.” She said to the blonde-haired coach seated beside Takeda, a defeated look on his face.
“One more time!”
Heads turned to look at the orange-haired boy, including hers. Hinata stands in the middle of all of them, a determined look on his face as he suggests the idea to the opposing team to which Nekomata agrees, stating that the purpose of a practice game is to play as much as they need. Play against each other all over again, until they reached their ultimate goal for the day.
Then they played another game. Six of them, to be precise. Where Nekoma had won them all with a small gap between the two teams' scores. Akari looked over Kiyoko’s shoulder to check on each score of the game that she had written down on her notes as the game went by earlier, before looking back to the scenery in front of her. “Everyone is losing their energy now.” She commented. All of the team members, whether it’s from Nekoma or Karasuno, were all laying down on the floor, catching their breath. Her eyes landed on Nekoma's captain as he leaned on his knees for support, reminded by his impressive delayed spike earlier on the first game they had.
"Once more." Her head snapped towards Hinata again, a dumbfounded look on her face as she realized the boy seemed to not lose any of his energy since the game had begun. She watches as Ukai picks him up by the back of his shirt, scolding him for not having any sense of awareness of the fact that Nekoma has to go back to Tokyo by train soon. “How can a person be so energetic?” She wandered out loud to Kiyoko who shrugged her shoulders, facepalming at the sight of their underclassman too.
"Gather round!" The Nekoma team gathers around her, Kiyoko, Takeda, and Ukai as Karasuno do the same to Nekomata and Naoi. She took in the looks from the team members as her eyes fell onto each one of them from left to right, observing them slightly, making sure that her eyes didn't stare for a second too long than she intended to. Lastly, she let her eyes fall onto the Nekoma’s captain figure who stands closely to her right as she stands besides Ukai, she found his eyes were already focusing on her instead of the coach who was giving advice for them at that moment. Kuroo immediately averted his eyes away from her, turning his body slightly so he wouldn't be facing her anymore. She found herself furrowing her eyebrows at the boy’s behavior.
"Let's meet again in Nationals.” Ukai ended his speech then telling them to start cleaning up the gym for the day. Akari immediately followed Kiyoko’s steps as the older manager went to collect the water bottles. She found herself looking over her shoulder to where the Nekoma’s captain stood as he ordered one of his team members. She shrugged before copying Kiyoko’s movements once more.
On the other side, Yamamoto followed Tanaka to the storage room as they began to clean up the gym. Karasuno's second year turned his back almost immediately when he detected the others' presence in the room. A fake intimidating look covers his face as he looks at Yamamoto, almost menacingly. “What's up? You want to fight? Come on, City Boy." Tanaka motioned him to come over with both of his hands.
However, Yamamoto's nervous stance said otherwise as he flailed his arms up in the air, cheeks red while trying not to look Tanaka in the eyes. He began to stutter, changing his stance a few times, grabbing the hem of his jacket to ease his nervousness. “What is your managers’ name?” He finally blurted it out. On a different side of the court, both Akari and Kiyoko sneezed simultaneously.
Almost immediately Tanaka grabbed the front of Yamamoto’s uniform, holding him up as he went closer to him. “Why, you?! Are you planning to make a move on Kiyo-“ He fixes his words. “On our precious managers?! I’ll run my fingers through that fuzzy head of yours.” He said.
"No. I don't have the courage to speak to her.” Hearing Yamamoto’s reponse, Tanaka released his hold off of him, no longer holding the front of his shirt as he took a step back from the boy. A knowing look on his face. “Kiyoko-san. Her name is Shimizu Kiyoko.” Tanaka answered, the picture of the girl he holds dearly close to his heart fills his mind.
"Really? She's the very embodiment of that name."
"Indeed. Indeed. It also took a long time before I could speak to her, so I know how you feel."
“However,” He looks at the red-jacket boy directly in the eyes before continuing his sentence. “It’s not so bad when you speak to her and are ignored.” Yamamoto flinched at his words, waving his arms in front of him saying that the bar was set way too high for him to be able to handle it.
Both of the boys then let out a chuckle, finally realizing the similar personalities they have. With a wide grin on their faces, they exchanged their names, shaking each other's hands. At this point, Tanaka realizes the lack of curiosity Yamamoto has on their other manager. “And don't forget about our other precious manager. Although, my eyes will always be set on Kiyoko. Akari is a dear friend of mine.” Tanaka continued.
Yamamoto stared for a second. "Ahh, the other manager. Touya Izumi's niece.” As a member of Nekoma, he, too, has known about the famous former volleyball prodigy of Nekoma. To think that one day he would somehow cross paths with one of his relatives feels unreal because all of this time, Touya always sounds like a myth instead of a real person. “To be true, she kind of scares me with that intimidating look on his face earlier. I swear she has her eyes set on us the whole time, it kind of feels like being watched through a security camera."
Tanaka laughed again, holding his stomach this time. "That's our Akari for you. Always the observant one. You know, she has a reputation of breaking boys’ hearts on Valentine’s day."
Yamamoto's face dropped at the information, thanking that he doesn’t go to the same school as the girl or he might as well be one of the victims that she rejected. His mind went back to his captain as he recalled the scene that occurred earlier during the game. “Besides, it seems that she has taken the interest of our team captain. I caught him looking at her a few times during the game earlier.”
“The weird haired guy?!?!”
***
On the other side of the gym, Akari sneezed loudly, her eyes narrowed to the storage room door, having a feeling that Tanaka was talking about her. She had just walked past Kageyama as he kept muttering things that may have scared the blonde setter from Nekoma. Shaking her head, she found herself making a way towards the Nekoma’s captain as he just finished a conversation with Tsukishima.
"Ahh, youth.” She heard him comment.
Akari raised her eyebrows at the boy who seems to have yet noticed her presence behind him. She cleared her throat to gain his attention, who seemed to be a success since he turned around, almost shocked to see her behind him. Kuroo has his back straightened up when he realizes who was behind him. His hands once again subconsciously wander to make him look tidier as he lets his eyes fall onto the shorter girl who is looking up to him with an amusing look on her face.
“That was an impressive delayed spike you did earlier.” She lets the compliment roll out of her mouth. She was being genuine this time, the action did impress her earlier. A hue of red makes its way to Kuroo’s face as he averted his eyes away when he heard her words. Not wanting to look embarrassed at the sight of her, Kuroo leaned on his left side. “Oh thanks. You did great too.”
“I didn’t play.” She commented, eyebrows raised. It would look as if she was teasing him to other people. Kuroo’s level of nervousness went higher in a second as he kept failing to form words to her. “Ahh, I mean. You………did great too……because a team can’t be a team without their manager.”
Rather than clearing the situation, his words confused Akari even more as the fact that Nekoma doesn’t have any manager slipped into her mind. “You do realize-“ The boy immediately cut her words. “Forgot about that. For whatever reason there, I’m sure you did a great job for the team. I don’t need to be in the team to know that. I’m sure you’re a great person, after all.” His sudden compliment, makes her cheek slightly turn red, although the boy seems to not notice it.
The two stood there in silence for a second before Akari cleared her throat once more. “I’ve realized that I haven’t properly introduced myself a few days ago.” Her hand went in front of him, hanging there as it waited for the other party to hold it. “Izumi Akari. Karasuno Second-year manager.”
Kuroo took a few moments before grasping her hand. For the second time that day, their eyes connected to each other. Hands holding one another as Kuroo brushed his thumb over her hand so slightly that she might not even notice it. His hand lingered a bit longer as Akari retracted her hand back to her side. The brief interaction replayed itself in his mind. He found himself falling down the deep blue of her eyes that reminded him of moonlight, something he grew fond of these days. His name once again rolls out of his mouth, this time he did it correctly in his first try, not wanting to replay the scene from a few days ago. “Kuroo Tetsuro. Nekoma’s captain. Third year.”
An invisible red thread forms between the two as the fates begin to knit them together, connecting the two from pinky to pinky. The thread is far from being a straight line, still jumbled up in knots as their story has just begun. The sun and the moon finally found their way to exist together at the same time. A rare occurrence, indeed. The golden hue of his eyes found its way inside the deep blue hue of hers, swarming through it, getting lost into it. A few seconds that felt like forever, he thought to himself inside his mind.
“I didn’t expect to see you here, Chibi-chan.” Her eyes twitched at the nickname he gave her as the lie came out of his mouth almost naturally. If anything, Kuroo was silently praying to the moon that night, to be able to meet her again if it was really fate for them to meet again. The moon listened and answered his prayers. Thanking whatever greater power that has answered his prayer, he continued his words. “Izumi Touya’s niece, huh? I have wondered to myself who you might be, however that thought never comes to mind. I’m sorry for your loss.” He remembered hearing about the tragic accident that ended the life of the former volleyball star player. One whom he looked up to during his younger days until now. Never once did he ever think he was going to meet someone who was once a part of the late star’s life.
She averted her gaze, not liking to talk about her uncle. Out of all her remaining family members, out of all the one who stayed and not left her behind, she was the closest one to her uncle. It is almost haunting to talk about a ghost. A ghost, she thought in her mind, before looking back to the boy. “Thank you. All is fine now, it happened years ago."
Sensing her uncomfortable state, he smoothly changed the subject as the two turned to face the others who were cleaning up the gym. Akari’s eyes fall back to Hinata who was standing close to Inuoka as they both fanboys over each other. “Do you know that serotonin is often described as the happiness chemical?” His sudden question makes her turn around to look at the side of his face as his eyes are focused on the scene in front of them.
“Yeah. So I’ve heard.”
Now, it’s Kuroo’s turn to look at her as he holds his hand in the air. “It can be triggered by foods, exercises, sunlight and mostly happy memories.” A cat-like-grin formed on his face, one that reminded her of the cat in a certain movie. “I think this is it.” He paused.
“This is what?” She asked.
“One of those memories. Meeting you again.” A simple answer yet it was the one that turns her quiet as she just stares at the golden hue of his eyes. She has seen people that are happy to meet her. There’s Tanaka, Noya, Hinata, Kageyama. There’s the team who always seems happy to be around her. And yet, the first one to express the feeling verbally is the boy with golden eyes that resembles the color of a sunset. The sunset that got the privilege to see a glimpse of the moon before it vanished completely to the other side of the world. She had seen the look of happiness around her. So why does this feel different, she thought to herself.
What feels like forever lasted for 5 seconds as she gained back the control of her senses, a neutral expression went to her face masking the shocked look that was there for a split second. She turned her body, not facing him anymore. “Do you say that to all the people you meet?” She raised her eyebrow at him.
Kuroo opened his mouth before closing it back again, hesitating to answer her question as he took in the reality of what he just said a moment earlier. His gaze trailed to the side of her face, a quick smile formed on his face before he cleared his throat, leaning back and forth on his feet. “Just to those who the thought of keeps me awake at night.”
Akari scrunched up her nose, a thought slipped into her mind as she proceeded his words into her head. “Keep you awake at night? You sound like a creep just now.” She looks at him suspiciously, arm crossed to her chest. Kuroo, who just realized there’s a double-meaning to his words, straightened his back as he turned to her immediately. An alarmed look on his face as he shook his head repeatedly, hands waving around him. “I-It’s not like that. I’m not a creep. That was supposed to be a charm, you know? A charm not a creepy statement.”
“Am I supposed to fall down on your feet because of your love spell?” She ended her question while doing air quotes with her fingers.
“I was just hoping to get your number.” He muttered.
An amused look went up on her face once more. “Ah, so those aren’t genuine after all. You want something in return.” She sighed while closing her eyes. There’s an ounce of disappointment that she didn’t let out on the surface as it remains inside of her. “It was nice to meet you, Tokyo-san.” She said before walking away from the boy.
Yaku, who had just witnessed the end of the scene, couldn’t help but let out a laugh at his fellow third-year who is also his team captain. With a hand holding his stomach, he pointed at Kuroo. “W-what was that? Kuroo Tetsuro trying to hit on a girl. That was embarrassing.”
Kuroo turned around with an annoyed look on his face, as his eyebrow twitched at his friend’s words. “Yah, you shut up!” He grumbled, marching his way down to his teammates, wanting to distract himself from the embarrassment she caused him. Zipping his bag then throwing it over his shoulder, he avoided the sight of the Karasuno team. I didn’t lie at all. However, I’ll never open that green website ever again.

so, uh, @outervvorlds posted an Outer Worlds Ask Meme for everyone’s captains and since i am a menace, stuck at home with a broken foot with nothing better to do, i did the whole damn thing myself so uhhhh here
Basics! Name, age, personality, etc. What do they look like? Are they a new or old oc?
Her name is Izumi Tanaka, but she goes by Izzy in this universe. She’s a 26 year old diva and flirt from a bad past on earth. She likes to make the joke that she likes “looking like a prostitute, but the nice ones, the ones you have to call a number for”. She’s mixed race, mostly Japanese but also African, German, and many other things. She’s a lightskin WOC with green eyes, long wavy black hair, and a shit ton of freckles. She’s very conventionally attractive(high cheekbones, tiny nose, large lips, almond shaped eyes) and she uses it to her advantage at every opportunity. She is an old OC from One Piece!
What are their attributes, perks, and flaws?
No flaws yet as of my current playthrough with her, but she’s very speech-oriented. She has a high Charm and Temperament, but she’s also skilled in melee, particularly two-handed, as well as being a talented engineer. She sucks at sneak, which is hilarious bc she’s also a chronic kleptomaniac.
What do they believe in?
She comes across as very critical of any particular ideology, but when she’s drunk it becomes more apparent that she just asks a lot of questions bc she wants to know everything before committing to something. Doesn’t stop her from siding with Dr. Welles with no information, since he did something for her by waking her up from hibernation.
How did they react to becoming Captain of the Unreliable? Are they much of a leader?
She was mostly just excited to have a ship. She originally intended to just run a solo ship like Hawthorne had, but she also loves to have people around, being an extrovert. She is flying by the seat of her pants when it comes to leadership, but so far bc of her extensive ability to bullshit her way through everything, she seems to be taking the role well.
What was their life like before being iced?
She grew up in a community similar to Byzantium - rich, snobby, and seedy. She was abused by her parents, and given to other high-society types by them to abuse for more money. She eventually snapped and killed her family and set their mansion ablaze to hide the evidence. As she was still a minor at the time and had no other living relatives, she was sent to an orphanage where she met her life-long friend Corona Nova(another imported One Piece OC of mine!), also known as Coco. The two eventually left to look for Coco’s missing younger sister, and became homeless. Izzy developed a drug problem and turned to merc work, partially for drug money and partially to kill the rest of those who’d abused her as a child. When the last one died, not by her hand but of old age, she had a come to jesus moment and got clean from drugs. She also discovered she had a love of mechanical engineering, getting a job at a local shop. It was there that she met Killer, a man she’d eventually end up in a “relationship” with; they weren’t exclusive, but they would actively discourage each other from being with anyone else. While she was working out how to love someone like a normal human being, he was killed. She never dated after him, and several years later, she signed onto the Hope after being tired of life on earth.
Did they have any family before becoming Captain? Do they think their crew as family?
She had found family in Coco and Calli, a mutual friend of all of theirs who was a occult practitioner named Sai, Killer, as well as her mercenary crew. At first she keeps the Unreliable crew at a friendly but extensive arm’s length, but by the end of it all she ends up considering the crew a family.
What’s their fighting style? Who do they bring along?
She is a SUCKER for 2-handed melee, especially hammers. ESPECIALLY the Prismatic Hammer. She’s also decent at sniping, but she sucks at stealth so she’s not a sneaky sniper. She always has Felix with her, and then it’s usually between Max and Nyoka.
Is Spacer’s Choice their only choice? What do they think of the corporations? She fucking hates the corporations, but tries to be nice to pretty much everyone she meets who’s not a direct Board pawn. She ends up being well liked by most people controlled by the corporations, which tends to give her an unwantedly high reputation with them.
What do they think of the factions? Are they liked or disliked by any? By the end of the story, she’s liked by most factions except the Board and the corps. She’s revered by the Groundbreaker, most of Monarch, and pretty much everywhere except Byzantium folk.
What’s their favourite place in Halcyon? Least favourite? Favorite place is Monarch and anywhere on Terra 2 except Byzantium. She fucking despises Byzantium, it reminds her of her childhood.
Do they have a favourite alien creature? She dislikes most of them, since they mostly want to eat her. She thinks sprats are cute but isn’t above killing them to get their pelts for money.
Did they save The Hope?
She did, and even though she cried over it, she took all of the whatever the fuck its called that Phineas has you steal from Byzantium to save them. She hated that she had to kill all those innocent people, but she knew they were already dead since the Board didn’t have any plans to wake them, and didn’t know how besides. It still did a number on her, though.
What do they want to do afterwards? - but do they get a happy ending? Her original reasoning for getting on board the Hope was to get as far away from “civilized” society as possible, and make a private life for herself. But by the end, all she wants is to continue to help people with Felix, which she does. She’s finally happy and at peace with her past, so I’d say she got a happy ending.
What do they think of the companions? Friendships, crushes, dislikes, etc. She loves all her companions like family by the end, but she did not care for Ellie in the beginning, and she was very wary of Max, mostly bc his drive to complete his goal, no matter the cost, which reminds her of herself in the thick of her personal revenge against her abusers. She found Parvati to be sweet if naive, but she really fell into favor with Nyoka and Felix, and Max after his drug trip. She’s head over heels for Felix, and ends up with him after her kidnapping on Monarch.
How do the companion quests go? She sets Parvati up with Junlei, helps Max become a Philosophist, helps Ellie get back at her parents. She cries with Nyoka over finding out her merc crew left the rest of them behind, and she doesn’t trust Clyde from the beginning, with the way he treats Felix. She doesn’t chastise him for being too trusting though.
What’s their love language? She’s pretty unsure of this herself, being that she’s never been in a normal, stable relationship, but she knows she loves to get gifts for her loved ones. She gets all of the crew anything they ever want. She also just loves to spend time with her loved ones, even just being in the same room doing separate things makes her happy.
Are they in a relationship? Do they want to be? She ends up in a relationship with Felix by the end. She’s always joked that she’s allergic to commitment, but she finds herself wanting to spend all of her free time with Felix, and even though she’s naturally a cuddly person, she’s extra-cuddly with him. She ends up realizing “oh shit, i like him way more than i intended to” at some point during her trip.
How to win them over? She’s more motivated by fun experiences and flattery than money, although she does like having bits for buying as much booze and cigs as she wants. Romantically, she enjoys people with a sense of humor, but who can be real. She loves Felix bc he’s 100% authentic at all times, says and does exactly what he wants… And because she loves how dumb he acts/is.
How to break their heart?
It’s very rare for her to let someone get under her skin long enough to break her heart, but she’s been fighting all her life to prove to herself that even though she’s a murderer, she is still a good person, so someone telling her otherwise stings pretty bad.
How did those cows get onto their ship?? She ordered them for their wool. She’s very into fashion but HATES spacer fashion, so she tried her hand to shear their wool and spin it and make something out of it. Results haven’t been good but she keeps trying.
A song that reminds you of them, Bad at Love by Halsey is a big one, I by Kendrick Lamar, I Like It and Be Careful by Cardi B. Any big party banger type song too, Izzy’s a party animal.
Three random facts about them.
-she’s a crazy chain smoker. She steals cigarettes more often than anything else, save for ship decorations. -she had a really shitty punk band on earth. The crew manages to recover some audio recordings(long story, it’ll be in the fic). Felix is the only one who enjoys it. Parvati tries to say something nice. Everyone else gives her all the shit for it. -if given the choice, she would never wear a proper shirt. She loves to have her midriff showing. In the fic, she finds a cache of her old shit that Coco brought along on the Groundbreaker, and Izumi cries when she finds out that Coco put all her old favorite clothing articles in it. (Felix is very happy, as most of the outfits are skimpy)
and as a bonus, here’s a picture of Izzy, done by a friend of mine! obviously probably not something she’d wear in space though, lmao
